In short

The host reacts to Donald Trump’s press-conference confrontation with CNN reporter Caitlin Collins, arguing Trump is exposing media bias and that Collins’ past contradicts her current role. The episode also covers: the stalled DOJ “anti-weaponization” fund, backlash over CBS/60 Minutes firing Scott Pelley, declining public trust in mainstream media, late election-counting concerns in California and Maine campaign controversy involving a candidate with alleged Nazi ties, and additional commentary on media figures.

Guest backgrounds

No named guests appear as interviewees; the episode is primarily the host, Dave Rubin, plus quoted/clip-based commentary from media personalities (e.g., Don Lemon, Sunny Hostin, Kara Swisher, Laura Ingraham) and references to political figures.

Key claims

Trump’s criticism of Collins is framed as deserved because she allegedly never acknowledges conservative “wins.” The DOJ fund is described as blocked by a judge and abandoned. Pelley’s firing is portrayed as justified “network cleanup,” not censorship. Media trust is said to have collapsed. California and Maine vote counting are portrayed as unreliable. Democrats are accused of defending Graham Plattner despite alleged Nazi material.

Notable examples

Collins’ “never smiles” remarks; Collins’ alleged 2015 Daily Caller work; Leonie Brinkema temporarily blocking the DOJ fund; “60 Minutes” meeting where Pelley allegedly attacked Barry Weiss; California mail-in counts taking weeks; Plattner’s alleged Nazi SS tattoo and prior pro-Nazi posts; references to “Kick app” and alleged affairs.

0:00I've tried a lot of seafood over the years, guys, and truly it's been hit or miss. You know, sometimes it looks great, but then you cook it and it just doesn't have that flavor or freshness you expect. So finding something reliable has made a huge difference. Wild Alaskan Company really changed that for me. It's the best way to receive high quality wild caught seafood delivered right to your door on your schedule. The first box I got was super easy to use. Everything comes individually portioned and vacuum sealed, so there's no guesswork. I cooked that wild Alaskan sockeye salmon just in a pan with a little olive oil, salt, and pepper, and it turned out fantastic.

0:34Clean flavor, great texture, and didn't feel like frozen fish at all. I've also tried the wild Pacific cod, which I love. It's light and flaky and really easy to work in when you need a quick dinner. What stood out is that the fish is quick frozen right after it's caught in Alaska, so it locks in that freshness along with the nutrients like omega-3s, and it's clean. no GMOs, no antibiotics, no additives, and it supports sustainable fishing and Alaskan fishermen. They're so confident in the quality that there's 100 % satisfaction, money-back guarantee, so there's no risk in trying it. Go to wildalaskan.com slash Rubin for$35 off your first order of premium wild-caught seafood.

1:47Me. Governor Ron DeSantis. Adam Carolla. Jillian Michaels. This is an app where they plot the human feces. We're gonna do maximum warfare against Republicans. You hit one of these people, that's their fault for impinging on you. All right, let's go eat some Chick-fil-A. What's that nice agent doing over there? It's like he's beating on a Guatemalan grandmother. I've been on a diet since I was like six. So Mark Carney went to a Vancouver Pride parade. I just... Yeah, I'm just trying to get comfortable. Hey up there in the negro balcony, can you see how comfortable I am with the trans and LGBT plus?

2:27It's for Gail! Matthew Deter! Gail right now! Can we get the translation on that one? We can. He's like, dude, I'll do Chinese, I can't do Somali. Thank you! God bless you! I love you! Sir, this is a when. Start with the obvious. Yay!

3:01What up, people? I'm Dave Rubin. This is The Rubin Report. It is June 4th, 2026. I should say it's Thursday, June 4th, and one week from today on Thursday, June 11th. That's right, seven days till showtime, people join us. It's gonna be a banger. We've been discussing all sorts of crazy little things that could happen. You never know what will happen when you're live in a room with a group of people. We're all doing this on screens all the time, but imagine sitting in a room with other human beings and sharing an experience. That's the type of thing that'll be happening one week from now, daverubin.com slash events.

3:38And remember, if you use code PragerU, 25 % off, that's either for general admission or if you want the VIP package, we'll put you up front. You get the hug, the whole shebang. Before we do anything, you know, yesterday, we played a couple of clips of Marco Rubio at the Senate hearing. And we're gonna play a few more of them at another hearing today that he was at yesterday. And in honor of Marco Rubio, just doing a real bang up job, Christy came in this morning and brought the Cuban colada for everyone. Now I have had two and a half cups of coffee. I was up early this morning with the kids, about 6.30.

4:13So I'm two and a half cups of coffee in. This is just espresso and sugar. I think I did this on the show once before, but I'm just gonna knock this thing out and I'll see you in an hour, okay?

4:25Let's go. All right, Rubio, here we go. We're gonna cover a lot of media stuff today. It's a lot of media and also the Democrat Nazi that everyone's been talking about and that thing seems to be derailing, but there's no bottom with these people. So basically short of him, like having a body in his closet, I'm pretty sure they're gonna stick with him. and depending on who the body is, that may make them like him more. Whoa, this stuff works. Okay, here we go. Donald Trump gave a little, I guess you could call it an impromptu press conference at the White House yesterday. And he does not like this CNN channel.

4:57Have you heard of this channel, CNN? They've got the tapper guy and the crazy lady and the other nutbag and Wolf. He's half man, half wolf, that whole thing. Anyway, he got into it over CNN and their journalistic or lack thereof, journalistic integrity, and particularly Caitlin Collins, who he's gotten into it with before. Take a look. They're crooked as hell. CNN's a very corrupt organization, but with a corrupt reporter standing right there. Never smiles. You never see a young, beautiful woman, never smiles. I never see a smile on her face. I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes, like she has hatred because we have borders, because we have a strong military, because we cut our taxes, because we do things that everybody wanted.

5:46And then we win our election in a massive landslide. We win 87 % of the counties in this country. Nobody's ever heard of a thing like that. And that's because we're doing the right job. So we'll get to a little bit more of their back and forth in just a second. But I have to say, you know, this is one of those things where people are, sometimes you hear people say, well, maybe Trump should just kind of let this stuff go, stop making fun of the media, blah, blah, blah. I don't think so. I don't think so for a couple of reasons. First off, if something works, you stick with it. And clearly shining the light on the derelict, using a nice adjective right there, going soft on them this morning, media, clearly it's effective, right?

6:25Like it's an effective tool. But I like what he did there really because it's like his way of showing you what's under the hood of all of this stuff. Like I have no doubt he's telling the truth. She stands there in the Oval Office with a scowl on. Now you can ask the president tough questions and I don't know any president, certainly in my lifetime, that has been more open to taking questions, whether it's on the tarmac or on Air Force One or in the Oval Office or at a press conference, et cetera, et cetera, or on a podcast, blah, blah, blah. But I like what he did there by pointing out that she's kind of miserable and then saying, well, why is she miserable?

7:01Here are the things that we have done. Look, as a member of the media, you are welcome to ask the president anything. But if you never talk about the wins, or not even, you don't even have to laud them, but if you never even acknowledge the wins, you're not really a unpartisan, nonpartisan member of the media. Now, something interesting happened over the last couple of days. You know, we covered it about a week ago or 10 days ago or so. there was this$1.8 billion anti-government weaponization fund that the president and the Republicans were trying to push through. As I said on the show many times, it sounded right to me.

7:42I don't know exactly where the money's coming from, but the general idea that if the government wrongs you, meaning hangs you up in some sort of legal lawsuit, infringes on your free speech, throws you in jail unjustly, whatever it might be, that there would be some fund so that you could get some financial restitution. Otherwise, the government can screw you over and you have no way of getting anything back from them. I've mentioned it many times, but when Congressman Jim Jordan from Ohio told me that one of my tweets was on the list of tweets that they uncovered that the government worked with old Twitter to remove during COVID, that's a violation of my First Amendment rights, right?

8:20Like that's the government not allowing me to speak freely. And not only can you not get any financial restitution, I didn't need money for it, but I said, could they just send you a letter? Could someone at the government just send you a letter on official government letterhead saying, you were wronged, we're sorry, maybe we won't do it again. And he's like, no, you're not gonna get anything. You're not gonna get a handshake from the janitor here at the Capitol or anything else. So the idea of a fund to allow people to have some recourse against the government, I thought was pretty good. It actually has fallen apart and then they got into it at the White House about that.

8:52So let me just give you a quick update on that from Grok. Many GOP lawmakers, including Senate Majority Leader John Thune, who's, I would say, wavering as a Republican at this point, strongly opposed the DOJ Anti-Weaponization Fund. It stalled key priorities like immigration enforcement slash ICE funding bills. Republicans threatened to block or amend legislation unless the administration scrapped it. House Speaker Mike Johnson and others met with Trump to convey this. Democrats called it corruption or a payout for political supporters. Even some Republicans demanded guardrails or outright rejection, viewing payouts to January 6th defendants as unacceptable.

9:30A federal judge named Leonie Brinkema temporarily blocked the fund's formation and any payouts to review it, citing concerns. The DOJ said it would comply while disagreeing, but ultimately abandoned the effort. And Todd Blanch even confirmed, we are not moving forward with the fund, period. So, okay, we can leave it there, right? It's hung up. Some Republicans didn't wanna do it for whatever reason, they felt it wasn't high priority. Democrats obviously aren't gonna get on board anything Trump did, some judge got involved. So it's not happening. Trump did want it to happen. And here is where he starts getting into it with Cailin Collins.

10:05The weaponization fund, as far as I'm concerned, was a beautiful thing. It was something I was, I didn't make it, but I heard that, I thought that was the greatest thing because people like you have abused our people so badly. The fake news like CNN, like the New York Times and like others have abused our people. Wait a minute. Be quiet. Have abused our people so badly. And you should be ashamed of yourself. You used to be a conservative. She was a conservative from Alabama. Can you believe it? But CNN, in particular, CNN does such false reporting. But now they have new ownership, so maybe it'll straighten it out.

10:43I doubt it. But it's hard to straighten garbage out. but CNN has abused and others have abused so badly. These are people that are great people that were destroyed. Their families have been destroyed. Many suicides, they committed suicide. Yeah, there have been families destroyed. There have been suicides. There were people that were unjustly put in jail. There were people who, after January 6th, were put in solitary confinement, got punishment. That was way worse than I think what most people objectively would say the crime would be. And as I always give the caveat, if you went in there and you broke some glass and you took a dump on Nancy Pelosi's desk, as funny as that might be, I guess there would be some criminal situation going on there.

11:28But there he is doing what he does, which is going after the mainstream media and they damn well deserve it. And saying that, in essence, he's saying, hey, these people were wronged and why wouldn't we want them to get some restitution out of it? Now, interestingly, this thing with Caitlin Collins and him, this has happened before. We've shown you other videos is where he's talked about her endless scowl and everything else. But I did not fully realize that she used to be a conservative. And it's not just that she used to be a conservative and then ended up on CNN as a Trump derangement syndrome, quote unquote, journalist.

11:58In 2015, she worked at the Daily Caller. That was Tucker Carlson before he went completely bananas, his conservative nonprofit news outlet. And here she is as a conservative, apparently from Alabama, going after George Soros and the Democrats. What an evolution this lady has had. From our nation's capital. Kaylin, what does that mean? What's George Soros trying to do with the immigration crisis? Good morning. Okay, so George Soros is this foreign-born left-wing guy who essentially wants to change the nature of our country. And in this data dump, one of the memos was about the refugee crisis. And they made three points.

12:39They think that they've been successful at influencing immigration policy across the world. They think that the refugee crisis is an opportunity to continue doing so. And I think the refugee crisis is the new normal that the Democratic Party needs to answer questions about this guy who they're so embedded with. They basically want to help Black Lives Matter further their agenda. And I think it's an issue also that the Democratic Party needs to address because so many Democrats have openly endorsed Black Lives Matter. And now that we see that this guy who is funding Hillary Clinton is also funding Black Lives Matter, That's a problem, and that's something that Americans should be aware of.

13:13You guys know me. I love people who aren't particularly involved in politics. They're usually nominal liberals, which is what most people are, whether they realize it or not, right, who then something happens, and then they become a little bit more conservative. Spencer Pratt is the current version of that, right? I'm always, like, I love that, but I am amazed by people who evolve, or you might say devolve the other way. How is it that 11 years ago, first off, she was smiling, right? So she did have a smile back then when she was more conservative. And what was she concerned about? She was concerned about BLM.

13:48She was concerned about George Soros money. She was concerned about immigration and all of those things. And then 11 years later, she works on CNN and she is one of the chief pushers, I would say, of Trump derangement syndrome, Donald Trump, who has exposed George Soros and worked against the NGOs that are operating against the United States and our interests. Who had, Donald Trump, who has closed the border and is working on deportations. Donald Trump, who has done more to harm the woke movement that BLM ushered in and get DEI out of our institutions and everything else. So it's like, what does happen to these people?

14:25It is very, very bizarre. Well then on CNN, like sniffing their own fart, They covered their own reporter being, going at it with Trump. And they brought in, so this woman that you're gonna see here, I've never played a video of her before. She was deputy White House press secretary under Kayleigh McEnany. So she was under Kayleigh, who was working for Trump. And what does the mainstream media love the most? They love people who once were with Trump, who turn against Trump. So they bring her on to analyze what just happened with Caitlin Collins. I will say that during my time working as deputy press secretary in the first Trump administration, Caitlin Collins was the one reporter that scared Kayleigh McEnany and President Trump the most.

15:15There would be times where Kayleigh McEnany wouldn't even call on Caitlin Collins at press conferences, at press briefings, because she didn't want to answer the questions. Because Caitlin Collins is a very, very good reporter. She's the best at what she does. And I think that's why you see Trump go after her more ferociously than any other reporter in that room. And it is disgusting to watch him tell a woman that she needs to smile while doing her job. Because I would like to think that if I was in that room and my colleague was being treated that way, I would say, screw you, I'm leaving, you go ahead and you cover yourself.

15:47Leave yourself here with OAN and with Fox News and let that be what your national coverage is. And that's why I feel that it is so ridiculous and hypocritical for people to go sit at a White House correspondence dinner where Donald Trump is speaking. And we are supposed to be celebrating the free press when practically on a weekly basis, we have to hear his rants against women who are doing their jobs as journalists. All right. First off, Anna, nobody cares whether it's a woman or a man. You think Donald Trump wouldn't go after a man. You think Donald Trump wouldn't say a man isn't smiling. Donald Trump goes after everybody.

16:25Has Donald Trump ever gone after Jake Tapper? Has Donald Trump ever gone after Jim Acosta? Has Donald Trump ever gone after Brian Stelter? We could do this all day long. So the gender component of this is just completely absurd. But that girl, I'm not even gonna mention her name again because she'll be completely forgotten. It's like, okay, so you worked, I would assume you were basically a conservative or something and you worked at the administration and now congratulations by turning on them and making it seem like Caitlin, everyone was so afraid of Caitlin Collins. How absurd. Sometimes he didn't and Kayleigh McEnany didn't call on Caitlin Collins.

17:01Who is she? Is she the Queen of England? Like there's 50 people in that room. You don't have to call on the same three people all the time. Also, Biden basically never gave any press conferences and whether it was Jen Psaki or the Muppet Lady, I can't even remember, Corinne Jean-Pierre, I almost forgot her name for a second. That's a beautiful thing when you can expunge. That's what I do. in August, I just forget about the people that I don't need to know about anymore when I'm off the grid. But they literally would have no, first off, if Biden never spoke, they would have notes and tell you who he was talking, tell him who to call on and everything else.

17:31And you think that Saki or the other one, the Muppet, you think any of them were calling on people for difficult questions, they would literally, as Trump pointed out in that 60 Minutes interview with Leslie Stahl, they would ask Biden what ice cream flavor he liked. It's completely and utterly absurd, But I would say good luck to you, girl, because you got on CNN once to basically throw out, you know, to basically throw your former employers under the bus, and we'll see how that works out for you. But it will get you on CNN once. We'll see about twice. Interestingly, could you throw the image up?

18:08Well, when it comes to trust in mass media, Donald Trump's not making it up. This is how most Americans feel. Look at that, trust in mass media from 1972. to 2025, and the question is in general, how much do you trust and how much confidence do you have in mass media, such as newspapers, TV, and radio, when it comes to reporting the news fully, accurately, and fairly? A great deal, a fair amount, not very much, or not at all. And you can see it's a massive, massive slide there. It's a massive slide, right? So, you know, the funny part of that is, I say this all the time, and it's completely true.

18:45If you guys 15 years ago, even before YouTube started really bubbling up in the news space, if you guys would have just done your jobs, I would not be doing this. There would have been no need for any of this. And of course the irony to that is that, although I like to consider myself one of the, in the small group of people that try to do something honest and real and have some integrity here, there's plenty of people that don't do that on this side of it now too. So the mainstream media went bananas. Now there's a huge portion of the online thing that's going bananas. And I guess with that, it's just the decent people who want to get something approximate to the truth.

19:22They're gonna have to continue to find each other. You're also gonna have to go on with life without feeling pain. And what's the best way to do that, guys? Segway, segway. It's through Relief Factor. That's right. You know I love this stuff. I've told you already. But it's 100 % drug-free, research-backed formula, and it's designed to support your body's healthy response to everyday aches and pains, which in just a few weeks, I will be 50 years old and I play basketball three times a week for three hours of pop. No matter how freaking hot it is, it's so hot and I'm so disgusting after. I have literally thrown out clothes at the end.

19:56I am not kidding. I'm like, I want nothing to do with these clothes ever again. And I'm all banged up and shoulder and this and that. And I've been taking this, which is why I don't mind taking it on air. I've been taking Relief Factor. I take one pouch a day. You can take a little bit more if you're hurting a little bit more. and it, I, look at, look at all that motion. Is that incredible? Is that incredible? Great motion. Great motion. Thank you. Okay.

20:22Honestly, if I had done that with another colada, I would have exploded. That would have been the end of the show. Guys, you can get their three-week quick start program for just$19.95. Visit relieffactor.com or call 800-4-RELIEF. So let's connect because we're doing some media stuff here. Let's connect this to the main story that we covered yesterday, which is this 60-minute story. And again, as I said yesterday, you may not care about this stuff. Those of you that watch this, you probably don't pay that much attention to mainstream media, but we still do need, or at least I believe we need something that is somewhat decent mainstream, so we all have something to bounce off of.

20:55Otherwise, we will all just be spinning in our own little universes, with our own little universes of truth, and we'll never know. We need something in the center, right? Like you need sort of something for everything to kind of rotate around, and you want it to hopefully be somewhat decent. Unfortunately, mainstream is not. We just showed you the numbers on the trust in that whole thing. In any event, now that Scott Pelley, who has been fired, and by the way, he was not necessarily fired for doing bad journalism, which you could make an argument. He went on with the Trump derangement stuff and all that.

21:26He was fired because when Barry Weiss, who took over the network, brought in a new EP, he had a meeting with people where he was going off on her and going off on the new EP. So basically going off on his bosses and anyone that pretty much in any job, if you basically are like, my boss is a moron and my boss is a complete moron, you're going to get fired. Well, everyone in mainstream media is freaking out about this. They want you to think this is an assault on free speech and the First Amendment and everything else. Of course it is not. It's as a matter of fact, it's just Barry doing exactly what she said, which is cleaning up the network.

22:00Here is a guy by the name of Scott McFarlane from far-left outlet Midas Touch. And he seems to think that everybody in the media is doing just fine. Polls do suggest that the media trust is at an all-time low. What would you say to that? Do you see that argument? I would venture a bold prediction that if Americans were surveyed about the trust within this of 60 minutes, it may have more support and more trust, more credibility with Americans than the general milquetoast term media. What is the media at this point that they're being pulled on? Are they talking about specific programs, specific sources of information?

22:38Are they talking about the garbage on the Internet, the garbage on talk radio? Are they talking about the actual verified bonafide sourced sources of journalism, the ones who actually have credibility and empirical evidence to back up their reporting? This all feels to me like apples and oranges. I'm sorry, is that a real person? I barely could listen to what he was saying. He looks like an automaton and everything he said.

24:06Dude, first of all, we just showed you a poll on that, but when we talk about the media, people are talking about CNN, people are talking about MSNBC, they're talking about New York Times, they're talking about Washington Post, et cetera, et cetera. The guys are telling me, I don't know what this is, but the guys are telling me he looks like Crimson Chin from Fairly Oddparents.

24:28I don't know what that is. I don't know who that is or what that is, but that was, let me see it again. We should do a side-by-side on that. How'd it work out for this guy? He ended up, I don't know what, I assume he was a superhero or something. He ends up being a CNN anchor. What a sad, that's a sad, sad story. Anyway, Jim Acosta, a guy who was on CNN, one of the absolute worst partisan Trump deranged lunatics who then got fired from CNN. And I think maybe he's back at CNN or he's got a sub stack or I think he has internet in his apartment, so he's doing a little something. And here he explains that this is all ideological and partisan.

25:03It has nothing to do with Scott Pelley walking into an office and telling 20 people that Barry Weiss is basically a psychopath. No, no, no, it's something else. As Don was saying, make no mistake, they don't care about the ratings, they don't care about making money. This is an ideological and partisan political project on the part of the Ellisons, the Trump-friendly Ellisons who now control Paramount, who by the way are trying to take control of WBD and CNN and turn it into this giant media conglomerate that will essentially act like a state media organization in support of Donald Trump. You know, the line that Scott Pelley said to the other employees of 60 Minutes before he got fired at a meeting, the line he said about Barry Weiss is that she's here to murder 60 Minutes.

25:52How, if you then are the new boss, Nick Bilton, or how are you Barry herself running the news organization? How are you supposed to be like, oh, one of our anchors just told a whole bunch of employees on our flagship program that the person running the network is here to destroy the program? You simply cannot do that. And as I said yesterday, Scott Pelley, I wish you luck. I wish you luck in finding another chair. Where'd I get this chair? This is, I think I had it at Our House. You know, Our House, they're pretty decent over there. probably about$150 chair. I'll buy Scott Pelley a chair. Scott Pelley, if you go online and create an online show, open up a YouTube or I recommend Rumble account, I'll buy you the chair.

26:31And then I hope that you will find someone that will pay you millions of dollars to do what you did because you were making millions of dollars there. And as someone making millions of dollars, maybe you wanted to think before the meeting about what you were gonna say about your boss and your boss's boss. But of course, all of the worst people now are suddenly defending Pelley because they're not defending journalism. They're defending the insider club that they have created around, that sort of inoculates all of them from doing actual work of journalists. Here's Don Lemon. I think Scott Paley is an example to all journalists.

27:09And if you are in that position, in a way, if I was still there, I might feel a bit embarrassed that I had not stood up. And I understand that people have obligations. You know, you've got mortgages, you've got all of those things. But I look at journalism in a very similar way as I do an attorney, do no harm, a doctor, do no harm, and you take an oath. But I think people in this moment need to stand up for Scott Pelley. I think people need to be a Scott Pelley instead of, you know, one of those people, one of those lackeys who go on television every day or every night and just lie and stand up for Donald Trump even when he's wrong.

27:40We should all be a Scott Pelley. Scott Pelley should be an example to us. We should all support him. His story is our story. These people are so profoundly absurd that there's not a word in the English language. I would like us to start, here, can you put this in grok? I wanna create a new English word around journalists who are horrible, who get fired, who then get brought on other networks to talk about other journalists who get fired. I wanna create a word, it would probably sound, maybe it should sound a little German, but there should be a word for that. Let's see if we can grok that and what Grok might give me a couple options on that one.

28:17We'll get to that in a second. He's, what are you talking about? You consider do no harm as a journalist. You were one of the biggest liars of COVID. You were one of the biggest liars of BLM. You were one of the biggest pushers of Russia, Russia, Russia, and very fine people and all of those things. So you're not defending, and I love how they get fired. It's so crazy. They get fired from one network and then they just show up on the other network. Like, how do they do that? Do they literally just walk over and they're like, Um, hi. It's me. It's me. It's me. All right. We're going to work on a couple of groks on that word right there.

28:48I see them coming in right now. But in the meantime, here's Scott Pelley being completely unbiased as a journalist.

28:59The president doubles down on a falsehood. It has been a busy day for presidential statements divorced from reality. Well, the president's real troubles again today were not with the media, but with the facts. This comes after a rough start to his presidency, a weekend of tweeting tantrums and falsehoods from the president and his spokesman. And today the president made a claim about the size of his electoral victory, a claim that wasn't remotely true. Some of the problems Mr. Trump promised to solve last night don't actually exist. Since his inauguration, Mr. Trump has continually stamped rumors with the seal of the president.

29:44His boasting and tendency to believe conspiracy theories have led to a deficit of credibility. Guys, you might say, well, first off, they're allowed to do their lying as an outlet. And they're allowed to do their, if they were on a quest for truth, they're allowed to do that. They're also allowed to lie and manipulate, like that's their First Amendment right to do all that. I would say whether any, maybe some of the stories there he was covering was remotely true. Maybe Trump did lie about an unemployment number or whatever it might be, or exaggerate or whatever, as he's known to do, by the way.

30:17The question is, the real question is, for four years under Biden, did you talk about how he was obviously not the president? Did you talk about the border situation? Did you talk about the Hunter Biden laptop? As a matter of fact, you guys ran cover for the Hunter Biden laptop. That's really the thing that took 60 minutes down. It's the Trump-Leslie Stahl interview. So it's the, you didn't even pretend to be nonpartisan and that's the problem. So, okay, we grokked it. We've got a couple words here. Let's see what the best one is. These are journalists who are awful partisan hacks who get fired from one network and magically show up on other networks to tell you how great of journalists that they are.

30:58We've got fir pundit, F-I-R pundit. We've got purgundit, I kind of like that. That has a little purgatory in it, purgatory. Ooh, bitter caster. I like that one. They're bitter casters, that's good. Axe caster, okay, that's decent. And German sounding, we've got scheiderit, okay. Fired fuhr, there's something, there's something right there. Oh, we have a couple Chinese sounding ones. Wow, you really went for it. Kriti kow, how was that? Good. Can I say this next one without being demonetized? Media dong. How would I say that in the Chinese? Media dong. Media dong. Media dong. Media dong. Ponding queen.

31:42Leofang. Oh, I like that one. Leofang. That's what they are. I mean, these guys, it's just, it's all insane. My buddy Clay Travis, who knows a bit about mainstream media and their failures, had this to say about Scott Pelley. Scott Pelley has been fired by 60 Minutes. Pelley will soon find out that no one else in media will come close to paying him millions a year to do a few stories a year. I think a lot of these old school TV guys are delusional about their market worth in today's media. And that's the point. That's the point. I've said it already, but the chair is worth something. The time slot is worth something.

32:14They're just all interchangeable. If Abby Phillip twisted her ankle tomorrow and couldn't show up and they brought in someone else, the ratings wouldn't change. Because nobody's like, I love Abby Phillip and I'm tuning into the Abby Phillip show. Nobody's doing that, right? It's the chair that means something because people are doing it out of habit watching these things. So I would recommend, Pelly, go independent, see what will happen. I mean, Lemon, you were making probably three, four million a year on CNN. What are you making now that you're doing it our way? I'm gonna guess significantly less.

32:43In this world, the world that I'm in, it takes work and it takes integrity and it takes time and it takes trust and it takes honor and respect of your audience. That's actually the most important one. I respect my audience, right? So I will not lie to you, I will get things wrong, but I won't lie to you or manipulate you. And you guys acted as propagandists, pretending to be journalists, and that can fly, and you might be willing to do it when you're making millions of dollars a year. It's a little bit trickier when you have to build an audience because in a lot of cases, guys, the audience is a bit smarter than you.

33:18Let's talk about delete me for a minute and then more on the other side. Guys, your personal data is more exposed than ever. Recent cyber attacks have revealed social security numbers, medical records, and home addresses for millions of people. Meanwhile, data brokers and people search websites legally collect and sell personal information, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and family connections to virtually anyone. That's where Delete.me comes in. Delete.me is a hands-free privacy option that removes personal information from hundreds of data broker and people searching sites, helping reduce the risk of identity theft, scams, harassment, and doxing.

33:50With more than 15 years of experience, Delete.me verifies where personal information appears before submitting removal requests and offers access to real human privacy advisors for additional support. It's also been named the top data removal service by Wirecutter. Get 20 % off Delete Me, Consumer Plans at joindeleteme.com slash Rubin with promo code Rubin. And might I recommend Scott Pelley? You could do an ad read right there. And I had one or two flubs in there. I was doing it real fast. I'm hopped up on 18 cups of coffee, but Scott Pelley. And also Scott Pelley is the king. You know, I was always for years, I've been joking about when they do this and it's very serious that they, he is the king of doing this.

34:29Oh, and I'm smarter, thoughtful, smarter, thoughtful. All right, let's get to the other thing, which of course was what happened in Cali over the last couple of days, which is this big election. And in essence, the mayoral election in Los Angeles and the gubernatorial election, not only are they not over, we didn't get a resolution, but we don't even have final results yet, which is part of the problem that the fraud and the inability to trust the system is now baked in in these places. So here's some updates on, well, first, the LA mayoral race. This is from NBC News. So where it stands right now, and it's still too early to call, the election was two days ago.

35:12Karen Bass is at 35%, Spencer Pratt's at 29.9%, and Nithya Rahman, she's the mom dummy. She's the true, she makes Karen Bass look moderate. She jumped significantly, since we talked about this yesterday. She's now at 22.8. Let's not forget, only the top two people make it to the runoff. This is with 62 % of the results coming in. I mean, this is completely insane. And it also shouldn't surprise you that the wackiest far lefty, as the mail-in ballots are being counted, is suddenly getting more. Makes you think, right? On the gubernatorial side, Steve Hilton, who's the Republican, great guy, 27.6.

35:51Xavier Becerra, Democrat, 25.6. And then third is Tom Steyer at 19.8. He's the billionaire who the Democrats, the Democrat socialists said that they would behead if he acts like a billionaire. That's with 55.8 % of the votes counted. How is it that you counted 50 % of the votes basically in a day and now we're two days later and you're at basically 55 %? And how do you think this makes anyone trust the system? Why would anyone trust the system? Who's in charge of this freaking thing? Why can't you count it? Why does this always happen? It's just absolutely insane. Here's Donald Trump commenting on that.

36:31The Democrats are at it again. They are trying to steal the governor of California primary and the mayor of Los Angeles primary away from two great Republican candidates. Here we go with the very late and massive number of mail-in ballots. Again, it is worth noting guys, why is it that not only can they not count, but why is it that when they get these mail-in ballots in almost every city, it always happens in blue cities and blue states, that almost all of the mail-in people are Democrats. Why is that? I thought this was quite interesting from NWokeness. Time to get election results. In Brazil, two hours.

37:08They have to count 124 million ballots. France, four hours for 34 million people. India, 24 hours, 640 million people. That's a lot of counting. Germany, eight hours, 51 million ballots. Argentina, six hours, 25 million ballots. And California, 37 days last time to count 10 million ballots. Here's Laura Ingraham on Fox calling for Congress to do something about this because this is just, the system cannot operate if the idea of fraud is just cooked in and we never get election results on election day. Well, to that point, the angle proposes the following. Both the House and Senate Judiciary Committees should call every major election official in California to testify about their specific process for vote collecting, safeguarding and counting.

38:01Testimonies should include how and why their officials ultimately settled on this vote counting regime, along with their refusal to require voter ID. So to insist in this investigation, both chambers can appoint special masters, that's what they're called, to oversee the fact finding, and then they could assist in writing a report that they could then present to DOJ. Now, it's important to note this. While courts usually find disputes under this clause, non-justiciable, in other words, they won't hear the case because they think it's a political question, at least the voters in California and across the country will have a fuller picture of the lengths to which Democrats will go to hold on to power.

38:44And maybe, just maybe then, they'll demand change in what many of us believe is potentially the most corrupt voting system in the Western world. I hate to tell you, Laura, it's a nice idea. They're not going to do it there. As long as that place remains a Democrat supermajority where the fraud is baked in. It's not just, it's electoral fraud, but it's also now we know about all the money laundering fraud and the hospices and all of this stuff. Like there's just so much broken there that how do you, the systems don't even work enough to break out of that. And that really is the problem. So we will see, but would it absolutely shock you if it's three days from now and suddenly they're like, well, we did get 15 % more of the mail-ins in and now Nithya is in front of Pratt.

39:35You gotta go home, Spencer. Like what would surprise anyone at this point? So I don't know how that fully gets resolved. Let's jump this over to the other interesting thing happening on the Democrat side, which is this Graham Plattner fella who he's running for Senate in Maine, Nazi tattoo on his chest for 20 years, says he didn't know what it was. Turns out he was on this Kick app, which is like a hookup app for kids in essence. They were exposing all of his old Reddit posts where he's pro-Nazi and a whole bunch of other stuff. Then somebody came out and said, one of his former staffers came out and admitted that he's had a bunch of affairs.

40:15Now there was some reporting yesterday that a whole bunch of other stuff is about to come out. So there's just like, and he's as radical as Bernie, but younger and almost angrier, I think you could say. So everything about this guy, it's just the worst sort of toxic mix of everything. And of course, the ultimate irony is they've called all of us Nazis for years. Now they have someone who quite literally had a Nazi SS tattoo and has made pro-Nazi remarks and they're running circles to defend him. So here's just a quick compilation of Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, and Jeff Merkley defending Graham Plattner.

40:51You have not said if you're still endorsing Graham Plattner. Are you still supporting Graham Plattner? As I said, I endorsed Graham Plattner. We're going to take back, we're going to beat Susan Collins and take back the Senate.

41:07Are you with the Republican Party? Are you talking about morality and corruption with President Trump? Have a nice day. And I must say that Graham Plattner is dedicated to the prospect of defending our Constitution. Right now we're in a situation where we see all the powers of Congress, The power of war, the power of taxation, the power of purse, and the oversight responsibility all being completely savaged. And to have a man who is willing to stand up to this administration is the type of voice we need in the U.S. Senate. These are genuinely terrible people. The question that was yelled at Bernie was something about Graham Plattner and kids, right, because of this kick-up, I think.

41:55and it's like that his immediate reaction is, well, the Republicans and Trump are bad. Do you have no principles whatsoever? Let's try to do the reverse. I know it's largely pointless, but let's try to do the reverse for a second. A Republican candidate, young Republican candidate, comes out that he had a Nazi tattoo and he was on a hookup app for kids. Republicans would be jumping ship so fast it would make your head spin and we all know that and the media would be forcing them to do it. Instead, the media is giving softball questions to these people who, they all said the same thing, the ends justify the means.

42:30That's what they all said. Chuck, you can still endorse this guy? Even though, Chuck, you're done anyway, man. Like, you're just on the slowly sinking ship and they're gonna take you out. And the fact that you, Chuck Schumer, who've sold out the Jews over years, will be taken out by a Nazi is kinda, I guess that's poetic justice in some sense. But what does he say? We're gonna take the Senate back. Doesn't matter if he was on a hookup app for kids, Nazi, we're gonna take the Senate back. Bernie, same thing, Republicans do bad things. The other guy, well, we've gotta take the House back. He's gonna stand up.

43:04Okay, can you not find anyone else in Maine? Might you guys wanna have a meeting in Maine today? I got one family member in Maine and she is a bananas lefty, so who the hell knows what they're putting in the water over there? But might you guys just have a meeting and be like, okay, we did like this Nazi guy and sure he was on the hookup app for kids and cheated on his wife a couple of times and posted Nazi stuff and yeah, but we still kind of like him. However, is there anyone else? Is there anyone else who wants to jump in on this? Who's famous for Maine? Who's like the most famous person for Maine?

43:38Can't they get somebody? Give me somebody for Maine. I can't think of anyone for Maine. Stephen King. Stephen King. He's literally more bananas lefty. Is it give me one more for Maine? Patrick Dempsey. Patrick, that would be pretty good. He's probably a Democrat. I don't know, that's Mr. what they call him? Mr. One, no, they called him Mr. Sexy, Dr. Sexy. Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy, thank you. It's a team effort, guy takes a village, really does. Here's Sunny Hostin explaining that she also has no values or beliefs. Oh. I will say, yesterday I was sort of on the fence. I'm like, character matters, morals matter.

44:17I can't believe that this is the person in Maine that's gonna, you know, take on the Republican, take on Susan Collins. I'm now convinced that we are really in a bad place in this country. We have to, Democrats have to take over the Senate. They have to take over the House. They have to bring some semblance of normalcy back to this government. And if it takes getting behind someone like Blatner, which 51 % of voters in Maine say that they will get behind him as opposed to 42%, if I lived in Maine, I would hold my nose and I would pull that lever and I would vote for him. I can't, I can't, I can't do it.

45:06I can't do it. You want me to comment on that without cursing? I'll try. Okay, first off, to say that she just got up there and said yesterday I believed that morals and character matters. So you're telling me, lady, over the 24 hours in between those two programs, you decided that morals and character don't matter. That's quite a, come to Jesus. I've decided that morals and character don't matter. The ends justify the means. I will do anything to attain power. Then she says that 51 % of people in Maine like him. Let's try it the other way. If it was a Republican who did the exact same stuff and had the Nazi tattoo and 51 % of people in Maine were supporting him, you would be saying, well, of course you'd be calling for him to step down, but you would also be calling 51 % of people in Maine Nazis.

46:00You'd be calling Donald Trump to get to, you know, condemn the guy and all of the rest of it. But you just admitted it. It's rare that you guys say the quiet part out loud, but you did it. You had, I don't wanna say she had morals and character. She said yesterday that she was struggling. And magically then, I don't know if they talked to her and they were like, lady, like the Democrats are like, lady, lady, you only sit at that chair because you're one of us. So you better get on board the Nazi with the kick app. You better do it. And she came around. Anyway, here's a bit more. Play the warning again, because it's just a lot.

46:34They brought on this Kara Swisher chick who she another just like far left bananas person. And she does the same thing. It does not matter how awful this guy is. He's our awful Nazi. Listen, he's obviously a troubled person. He's done a lot of bad things. He had a drinking problem, which he's acknowledged, all kinds of bad stuff. But you're either going to be, you know, effective or you're going to lose like you want to be effective or be right. That's the question here. And one of the things that's hard is Democrats do hold themselves to a higher standard. in this regard. But as far as I'm concerned, the people of Maine are the ones who should decide who they want.

47:11And if they forgive this guy, and that's part of the idea of it, it's fine. The same thing with his wife. That was astonishing, her thing. And it reminded me of Hillary Clinton. What do I stand by? My man. It's between them, right? It's not our business. Like as a friend, I'd say you're such a jerk. But as someone else, it's not my business to judge these people. Well, I'll judge you guys. You're evil demons from the seventh gate of hell. That's what you people are. You have no morals, you have no character, you will do anything to attain power. You would take the complete opposite polar position if it wasn't your guy.

47:44But I'll agree with you on one thing. Yeah, it's for the people of Maine to decide. The Democrat party is a bunch of radical, psychotic lunatics. So I'm telling you, if he had a body in a bag in his trunk, that wouldn't disqualify him. They would look at the body and decide whether the person was applicable to whatever their political motives were, and then they would decide if it was worth it. In most cases, they wouldn't mind the body in the trunk, right, Brian Thompson, you're allowed to kill people who you don't like their politics, you're allowed to kill them. Her line, you wanna be effective or right, as if those things are mutually exclusive, is also completely insane.

48:20Might I recommend that some of you join me one week from today, do we have a poster for it? In Florida, in Miami, at the Fillmore, at DaveRubin.com slash events, you can get tickets, use code PragerU for 25 % off, and you're gonna see that guy and his name's Ron DeSantis. And he is effective and right. He has been right about virtually all of the issues. I cannot think of one thing he was wrong about, whether it was COVID or now property tax or literally the panoply of things that have happened, whether it was ICE, immigration, all the things that have happened over his two terms. And he was effective.

48:55So you don't have to choose between effective and right. Every now and again, your values are gonna come up against political realities, right? And then you're gonna have to compromise. That's what politics is about. But that you think these things are in opposition to each other is completely insane. There's one guy who's a Democrat who's not insane. As you know, he had brain damage. His brain is healing. And as he heals, he becomes more conservative. John Fetterman. Yeah, no, the one thing, good thing you can say about the guy is that he has so many offensive things that it's hard to keep up with it.

49:30And now, you know, that American hero that was under fire by the Taliban and calls him a dumb MF-er that doesn't deserve to live. And he described, you know, our army as absolute trash in those kinds of terms. For the last decade, he was on kick. He was on kick. And that was a very specific kind of a website that if anyone could just look up, you can describe that that's a serious issue that has a lot of young people. They have very, a lot of safeguards and there are people who are unable to know what their age are. There's no kinds of verification. So he's been on it for a decade. Yeah. So Fetterman is now the voice of reason of that party.

50:17You know, good luck, man, with whatever they're going to try to do to you because it's a coming. But let me show you another lefty who I think is trying to be sane and perhaps just needs a little more push to come our way. She is a friend of mine. She's been on the show multiple times by Unger Sargan. I actually just blurbed her book, which I think is coming out. Is it coming out in the next couple of weeks? We should have her on for that. But here she is calling out the Dems for supporting this guy no matter what he does. I'll just say my grandfather's whole family was murdered in the Sobibor concentration camp.

50:54Grand Planner doesn't just have a Nazi tattoo. For 18 years, he had a tattoo of the concentration camp guards on his chest, and he knew what it was. He knew what it was. And to hear people compare that to anything else in the public sphere in America is insane, and it is insanely offensive. These people who are defending him called me and every other MAGA person a Nazi for 10 years because we voted for someone who we thought would improve the lives of working class Americans. And now they are lining up and defending a guy who had a Nazi tattoo, which he knew about, for 18 years. It is so insane to act like anything Donald Trump did was anywhere close to having a Totten cup on his chest for 18 years.

51:45This guy is a Nazi and Democrats are lining up behind him because they think he can win. Yeah, everything she said there was absolutely true. I would say to her something that I've said on air when we've done both of our shows, which is, you know, I hate to tell you, unfortunately, Batya, but they'll never accept you as one of their own. Right. She still considers herself a lefty, happened to vote for Trump. They'll never accept you. It's pretty damn clear. You got a screenshot of look at the way that look at Anna looking at her. Look, as she's explained, she talks about how her grandparents were killed in a concentration camp where the concentration camp guards wore the same exact tattoo that Graham Plattner had for 20 years.

52:28And look at the contempt. Like she's sitting there with such vile hatred. That is, these women, oh, just absolutely disgusting. And by the way, this idea that he didn't know what it was for 20 years, he just didn't know what it was. Well, there's his tattoo. that's the Nazi SS tattoo. And then he changed it into some sort of squid thing. I guess he was a SpongeBob fan or something. But look at this, throw me the next image. These are images obviously that is Ralph Fiennes in Schindler's List and yeah, there it is, right there on his lapel. And that's, what's his name, who's an incredible actor from Inglourious Basterds, what's his name?

53:05What was the guy from, it's Ralph Fiennes and is that his brother maybe? Who is that? Christoph Waltz. Christoph Waltz, who's another great actor. And he was the main Nazi. And there's the tattoo right on his hat. So these are not things that he would have had no idea about. Let's put it that way. Okay, so you might be watching the show so far and go, Dave, for God's sakes, I've been watching for 52 minutes. All you've shown me is complete insanity by horrible people. And you'd be right. However, there's hope. Because as everyone has been freaking out about these midterms, there are things, there are signs we can now point to that are showing what I've hoped for, which is that as the Dems just go all in on communism, on jihadism, Dasha Nazism, people are waking up.

53:50Here's the dork with the screen over on CNN, Harry Enten, very jazzed up. And the Senate is looking a little more favorable to the Republicans. Really, any path to taking the Senate goes through Maine. Yeah. So what are we seeing about the chances of taking the Senate right now? Yeah, if you take a look, the chance of getting the Senate right now, Now, look back, you go back two months ago, it was about a 50-50 split, right? Now, Republicans, again, it's close, but Republicans are now slightly favored to take back the Senate, no doubt in part because of what is going on in Maine, which just makes that path, which is already difficult, a little bit more treacherous.

54:24This feels like a platinum tax right now in those overall senses to take the Senate. No, no, no, platinum tax. Thank you. I was told to laugh at that. 50-50 to 57-43 is huge. That's absolutely huge. Also don't forget, Republicans have the tiebreaker because J.D. Vance is the vice president, right? We have the vice president, that's the tiebreaker in the Senate. So that is looking a little bit better, but let's just keep going with this notion. The Republicans, all you gotta do is be decent. Don't do anything crazy, don't bring in a Nazi, just keep being decent and let these lunatics expose themselves.

55:00So there was another hearing in Congress the other day. This was Secretary of DHS, Mark Wayne Mullen, and he's getting asked, well, not really asked questions. He's being reprimanded in a psychotic fashion by Al Green, the guy, the wolf, werewolf looking guy who's always screaming when Trump speaks. He just got voted out, by the way. So this guy's in his waning moments of ever being relevant other than if he shows up at a, you know, a horror movie or something. And just what, what is this? What is this? A racist, Mr. Secretary, would do what happened to Ruby. Are you calling me a racist? A racist.

55:40I'm asking a question. Reclaiming my time. I'm asking to shut up. That's a pretty. Shut up. Shut up. Shut up. It's my time. I'm not going to let anybody call me a racist, Chairman. I never called him a racist. It's my time. It is. Gentlemen, he will suspend. He will not. Tell him to shut up. Gentlemen, no. The gentlemen will. Boy, we're really gonna lose a lot country-wise by not having that guy around. Like you call him racist, you got your charts, you shut up, shut up. But this is it with the Dems. I'm gonna show you two more. We're gonna jump back over to the Rubio thing from the last couple of days.

56:15Look at Rubio, who is so damn good. He doesn't look at notes. We pointed out yesterday, he remembered phone calls he took. He has explained the beauty of America. He has explained the reasoning for the Iran war. by any measure, you don't have to agree with everything that they're doing, but by any objective measure, somebody would say Marco Rubio is the type of person that you would want in government. A good communicator, has a set of beliefs, has a track record, blah, blah. Watch these two videos. So first here's California representative Sydney Kamlager, and she's very upset at Marco. ...representative times expired.

56:54Representative Salazar is recognized. And giving contracts with no transparency is exactly the reason why you shut down USAID. So practice what you preach. I've yielded my head. Oh, she gets to scream now, too? Chairman, can we take down her words? I'll give you some time. I'll give you some of my time. Then you just... Okay. Oh, God, what kind of thing is this? What is this? You get asked questions for five minutes and you don't get time to answer? It's not a hearing. I think you said clown shit before. What is this? I don't have to tell you. I want that USAID money. Is this Oprah? Wait, wait, not even Oprah.

57:25What were those shows? that it wasn't Oprah, that they did too much of that, but I ain't gonna let you talk and let you move my boo-boo-boo. And that wasn't even as bad as this one. Something about Marco Rubio in shoes. Here's a Congress lady from California, Sarah Jacobs. Last question for you. Mr. Secretary, who won the 2020 presidential election? I'm not here to answer a question. We're talking about 2020. This is a foreign affairs committee. Okay, great. You can't answer the question, even though we all know that President Biden won. I don't answer the question because the Secretary of State, I do not participate in domestic political issues.

57:57This is not about domestic political issues. This is about our democracy. You're asking me to opine, just like I don't do campaign rallies. It seems like you... I don't do because as Secretary of State, we're not supposed to. That's been the long tradition of the department, and you should know that if you've been on this committee for any period of time. And just like you couldn't admit that the shoes the president bought you were too big. You clearly don't know what winning means. I don't know about the shoes. I mean, he gave me some Florsheim shoes. They're actually pretty good. They fit fine.

58:20I don't know what she's talking about. And maybe that's what she's referring to. Your shoes look very nice today, Mr. Secretary. How can you see them? They're way down here. We're talking about shoes. Are you guys kidding me? I mean, is this the Foreign Affairs Committee or is this like a circus? What is this? I think it's a circus. Yeah, it is a circus and he doesn't deserve that. And she's just a complete buffoon. So it's Wolfman. It's the other one like this. This one babbling about his shoes. And it's like, good for you, Rubio. Didn't lose his cool for even an iota of a second. and just on point and you people are all ridiculous.

58:56So the point of showing you that after showing you that the Senate is now shifting back to the Republicans is keep going Democrats, we'll keep, you keep screaming, you keep bringing your Nazis around, all your crazy people showing us you have no morals or that you had morals in character yesterday and you don't have it today. We'll keep showing that to the people and we'll see how this all shakes out. Guys, let's talk about Marsmen for just a second and then we'll get to a local, at rubenreport.locals.com community Q &A. At some point, you start to notice things feel just a little different. Your energy isn't quite the same, workouts don't hit like they used to, and staying lean takes a lot more effort than it should.

59:31A big part of that comes down to testosterone levels naturally declining as you get older. That's where Mars Men comes in. 1:00:05All right, rubenreport.locals.com community Q &A. Joseph is at the computer right now, and if you want to get a question in on the fly, you can download the iOS or Android Locals app and join the Rubin Report community, loves to laugh, says, do you think Ron DeSantis would be willing to put together a how-to notebook that he could share with other governors to assist making America more like Florida? You know, what a great question. And actually he has already done that. There was a few before he jumped in in the presidential primary, he was holding several events here in Florida called Florida Blueprint events.

1:00:43I was at a couple of them. I hosted a few of them, and he would basically bring in a bunch of governors. They would bring in senators. It was usually governors, because he was talking to other governors about how he could do this. But they would also bring in senators and congresspeople and members of the media, and he would do these. I went to a few. They had literally all day panels, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., panels talking about how they could import some of the ideas that we're doing right in Florida into their states. One great example of that that actually worked was that Florida has been leading on school choice for years.

1:01:16At the time, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, governor of Arkansas, had just taken over and she wanted to do it. And DeSantis explained how you go about doing that. And they quite literally had a book. I assume they handed them that book. So that's what you're talking about. So yeah, there is a blueprint and you can have your morals and you can be effective at the exact same time if you do it right. So hopefully he will spread that a little bit more and I will talk to him about that one week from today. Elizabeth says, does David think your I'm only gay after 10 p.m. joke is funny? Not until about 10 p.m.

1:01:53Yeah! Different View says, Dave, as a former candidate in Colorado, I found that mail-in ballots often increased voter participation. Many people told me they voted only after receiving a ballot and then speaking with me at their door. Given that experience, do you think mail-in voting can have legitimate benefits for voter engagement despite concerns about election integrity. I'm really glad you brought that up. Look, as I said yesterday, actually, I'm not completely against mail-in ballots. I think that in specific cases, you have tons of people at old age homes. We just moved my 92-year-old grandmother-in-law down here to Miami, and she's in a assisted living facility.

1:02:33She's in amazing shape for 92, and she's funny and wonderful and all that stuff. But the chances that you're gonna get all these people with walkers and wheelchairs and other health problems to the ballot, not to the local polling place, not great. So does a mail-in ballot make sense? Yes. And are there ways to make sure that that mail-in ballot has to be postmarked before the election day so that it can be counted on election day and all that? Yes, you have to tighten up all of those things. But your point, I think, in essence was, well, you know, people get the ballot to their house and then suddenly it makes them think for a second, right?

1:03:08You may not even, not everyone's as political as maybe you are watching this, you don't really think about it. A certain set of people don't really think about it. So then the easier, the less friction there is, you know, instead of having to get in the car, go to the polling place, find out where you're gonna put your kids or put your kids in the car. Like the less friction there is, the better. The problem, particularly in Cali, is as I said, first off, they're counting things after election date that automatically gives at least a little sniff, let's say, of impropriety. I mentioned that when I lived in Cali, even though I voted in person, they sent me the ballot for the Gavin Newsom recall, where I was supporting Larry.

1:03:47And no matter which way you folded the ballot, it was like a trifold, but no matter which way you folded it, once you put it in, if someone held it up to light, you could see that you voted for Larry Elder, that his name was on a side, that no matter which way you could put it into the envelope, it was gonna be seen. Like, I didn't do it, but obviously a lot of people did. And if you were up to no good, and you were a postal worker, or someone that had access to things, you could do some things. So look, a lot of this will change. This is another thing where we're on the forefront of AI. Blockchain voting, which they're doing in some countries.

1:04:16I think they might be doing it in Guatemala or Bolivia right now. So there are things that will change this stuff. But yeah, as a general rule, you would want there to be as little friction as possible, but I want people to show up, as many people as possible to show up with an ID, prove who they are. I want, if you wanna do it digitally, that there should be some sort of paper trail as well and everything else. Otherwise, we just want to have faith in the system and then at some point it just doesn't work. Lauren says, telling a good joke is powerful stuff. What is the best way to learn this?

1:04:48Oh, well, if you're thinking about doing standup, I mean, well, Jesus, think about something else. No, if you're thinking about doing standup, just go out there and do it. It's the only thing you can do. You've got to just get on stage, grab that microphone and start talking and you will figure out what your rhythm is. But if you wanna see like great joke telling, you wanna see real great joke telling, watch Rodney Dangerfield on Johnny Carson, and you will see joke after joke after joke after joke. I'm talking not even when he was doing just standup, even when he's sitting at the panel, you wanna see a master kind of joke teller.

1:05:27I was even, yesterday or the day before, I was sending Joey some videos of something, and I sent him Henny Youngman videos from the 1960s. He was like the original one-liner comic, take my wife, please. And he's watching it as a 24 year old, like Dave, what the hell is this? It's not funny or whatever. But when you understand the evolution of jokes and where the pauses are and all that. But if your question really was you're thinking about stand up, you just gotta try it and then get out and find something else to do with your life. Mark Jev says, Dave, care to opine on the Knicks versus Spurs?

1:05:59Do your best Kathy Hochul impersonation. I love the Knicks. She loves the Knicks. She's like this. She loves them so much. Her whole face got blown back with the Knicks. Do we have the video of Hochul? She loves the Knicks so much, she doesn't know what year they were in the finals. And she's very, well, watch this. You think of him saying he's a lifelong Knicks fan. I think that's how the time took for today. I asked him to name the starting lineup from 1993 championship team and see how he does. The 1993 championship team? No, the Knicks did not win the finals in 1993. the Chicago Bulls did.

1:06:34That was the last year of the first three of the repeat. They beat the Lakers in 91. They beat the Blazers in 92. They beat the Suns in 93. I think what she's talking about is that in 1994, the Knicks did make the finals and it went seven games against the Houston Rockets. And interestingly, here's a little side note on all of that. On June 19th, 1994, game five of the NBA finals that night, three incredible things happened. Well, first off, there was the Knicks Rockets game, so that was one thing. The OJ Simpson car chase, same night, and also my high school prom at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, which basically everyone left the prom because pretty much all the guys wanted to watch the Knicks game.

1:07:19And then once the OJ chase started happening, everyone just filed out and was watching TV the whole time. But she doesn't know what she's, what are you talking about, the 1993 team? The Knicks were probably decent in 93. They had Ewing and Starks and the other guys. The Knicks, I'm gonna guess they made it to the, maybe Eastern Conference Finals or semifinals that year, but no, name that starting. I could try to name the 1990. They didn't even make it to the finals in 93, but I'll try to name the 1993 starting Knicks. Let's see if I can do it. Patrick Ewing was obviously the center. John Starks was the shooting guard.

1:07:48So Ewing, 93 Knicks, even though she's completely wrong about the team. 93 Knicks, I'm gonna say Ewing was the center. Starks was the shooting guard. Charles Oakley was the power forward Oakley was the power forward Small forward was Anthony Mason You both jumped before I needed a second I was going to say Charles Smith What did you say? Tony Campbell I don't remember Tony Campbell And then the point guard was Wait, wait, wait Derek Thompson No You're giving me a signal An O He had an O He had a C Derek What? D D Yeah, Derek, DC. Oh, Derek Harper? Doc. Doc Rivers, Doc Rivers. Doc Rivers, who we've played videos of, later became a coach 20 years later, leftist lunatic, ruined his whole legacy.

1:08:37I liked him as a player. What the hell was the question? David Domstein says, what do you make of Teal, Peter Teal, moving to Argentina? Does he know a billion things that we don't? You know, I saw this on Twitter. I just skimmed past something about Peter Teal buying a place in Argentina. I think we have a headline from Business Insider. Peter Thiel's move to Argentina reflects a growing trend among billionaires seeking a plan B abroad. I don't know how much, I haven't spoke to Peter in a month or so, but I don't know how much of this is true. He has houses all over the place, right? Like when you're a billionaire, you got a lot of houses.

1:09:10So I don't know if he moved there in any real way. I know he just moved to Miami, so I don't know. What I would say is it wouldn't surprise me that a guy like Peter, who is a capitalist and a libertarian and all of those things, loves what's going on with Malay and Argentina, and that he would want to be part of that. He likes places that are growing. That's his whole thing, zero to one, like go do some awesome changing things. And you have the chance to do it in places that are flourishing. And Argentina right now, in terms of capitalism, is almost at the top of the list. So, yeah, I don't know more than that.

1:09:45Glenn says, if Ron DeSantis had won the presidency in the last election, how different do you think his first term would be than Donald Trump's current term? And do you think he would have been as uncompromising on Iran and Venezuela as Trump has been? You know, that's a great question and I'll ask him some version of that next week. If he had won, I think there's every reason to think that he would have been able to put together an incredible all-star cast around him. So I think it's very possible that a lot of the people who came around to Trump that weren't on board Trump would have come around to DeSantis.

1:10:20You know, if you remember, a lot of it started with Rogan saying that he would support DeSantis. That's what Rogan said before he eventually supported Trump, only the day before the election did he finally say he was gonna vote for Trump. But you know, when DeSantis announced, he announced it with the tech guys, he announced it with Elon and David Sachs on Twitter spaces. So he had enough juice. It didn't work for the Republican primary. And again, I don't wanna rehash that whole thing, but obviously Trump was destined to become president again. and in some sense getting DeSantis as governor has been the best thing for Florida.

1:10:54But I think there's every reason to think he would have done everything he set out to do. Would he have done things as bold as Venezuela or what we're potentially doing in Cuba? I don't know about that. I do, it seems to me, probably likely that on the Iran thing, I think he probably would have done it. You know, Trump and Bibi have had an incredible relationship for decades. So, you know, would there have been and a different type of coordination or whatever else. Who knows, who knows? And maybe he will get his chance one day. Crafty Cat says, Father's Day is coming up. What is something unexpected you learned by having kids?

1:11:29How has that made you a better parent? How has it made you a better person overall? Wow, that's a lot. Well, patience, you know, that's an easy one in some sense to say, but like I'm a pretty patient person in general, but when you have kids and you're really trying to get them to eat, or right now we're doing potty training or you want to get them to clean up after we have a freaking giant Transformers magnetile war and I want them to clean up. You've got to show real patience. And I think I've really learned that, relearned it or it's expanded or something like that. One thing I always try to do no matter how busy I am, like right after this, I have another show at one and another show at two, but I'll have a 20-minute break or something like that.

1:12:15I'll run in there and if they're inside and they ask me to do something, I always try to do it. And it's some, ask me to play something for a few minutes or something because I don't wanna let them down. I always wanna show them, hey, I'm here. Maybe I can't be with you for this next hour, but I can just give you that little burst. And that's all they want, really, right? Like if they say, come play with me, they don't necessarily mean for the next two hours. Like that's not how a three-year-old's brain works. What else have I learned? Patience has been the big one. I mean, the most important thing is that and I would say the thing that changes you more than anything else is that you fundamentally realize there is just something more important than you.

1:12:53Like, and we all know that deep down, you don't have to have kids to know that, but like you really freaking get it. You know, when Luke was just a couple of weeks old and suddenly he was a little blue in the face and it seemed like he wasn't breathing properly and we were taking him to the hospital and we're driving in the car and I think he was maybe three weeks old and I'm literally talking to God. I was like, take me, take me right now. And I had only known this kid for three weeks. So what is that? What is that? Well, it's something very powerful and very deep and very important. That is our show for today.

1:13:23A reminder, one week from tonight, I can ask some of these questions to Ron DeSantis himself, daverubin.com slash events. I'm told we have a couple of the meet and greet seats left. Those always go super, super quick. Everyone wants that freaking hug. So I hope to see you guys there. PragerU, code PragerU for 25 % off. and we'll do a quick post game show at rubenreport.locals.com. See you tomorrow.
