In short
Dave Rubin argues that “new Democrats” are abandoning traditional Democratic values, embracing far-left socialism/communism, and neglecting American victims—especially in immigration/sanctuary-city policy. He highlights a congressional hearing featuring Sheridan Gorman’s mother, then pivots to far-left Democratic primary wins, New York rent-freeze policy, and Supreme Court birthright citizenship.
Guests (named in the episode)
None appear as interview guests. The episode references multiple public figures for clips/coverage, including Jessica Gorman (mother of Sheridan Gorman), AOC’s Yorktown connection (AOC mentioned, no clip of her), Pramila Jayapal (clip), Ro Khanna (clip), Daria Elisa Avila-Chevalier (candidate), Malot Kiros (candidate), Hassan Piker (streamer), Zorhan Mamdami (NYC 78-degree/AC and rent-freeze messaging), Abby Phillip (CNN), Lydia Moynihan (CNN), and Ben Shapiro (commentary).
Key claims
Sanctuary policies prioritize illegal immigrants over citizens; Jayapal’s “fourth hearing” remark was callous; far-left candidates are anti-capitalist and excuse violence; rent freezes worsen housing and repairs; birthright citizenship enables “birth tourism” and foreign exploitation.
Notable examples
Sheridan Gorman’s March killing after a trip to the Chicago lakefront; Jayapal telling Jessica Gorman the committee has held sanctuary hearings four times; Malot Kiros saying 9/11 followed from U.S. destabilization; “abolish ICE” and “pathway to citizenship for everyone” without fees; New York’s rent-stabilized rent freeze; South Bronx arson precedent; Supreme Court birthright citizenship ruling; claims of 1.5 million U.S. citizens via birthright.

Transcript
Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:00Previously on The Rubin. Is there a question in that? You got a question, Jake? Like, Jake, you're just lecturing me. We're also being invaded by jihadists. That's a problem. Take your policy on the genocide in Gaza. It's terrible. We will hunt and hound you down until the ends of the earth.
0:42How you doing guys? I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It's July 2nd, 2026. We've got a great show for you. Before we do, quick little housekeeping. As some of you know, yesterday I did the stem cell thing in my shoulder. Second time with Dr. Richie Striano, who fixed my knee about a year and a half ago. I thought I was never gonna play ball again. Six weeks later, I was on the court. I still cannot believe that. We got a couple images here that was doing some red light therapy, which is a laser designed by NASA, which really penetrates deep into the skin and gets some of the stem cells waking up and moving along.
1:15Obviously, we're using an ultrasound machine. Richie is just a phenomenal doctor. And if you've got anything going on, and they do stem cells now, not just for orthopedic stuff like your shoulder and your knee, they do it for cognitive things. He's working on someone with ALS right now. Now they do it for people with dementia. You can also get it IV, which I did get also. And I think we have one quick little video. All right, so there's, I mean, it was extremely painful. Like it was a lot of needles and it was kind of rough. We have one little, and look at that needle. The needle, go back for one sec, Connor.
1:46That needle, we're not even showing you the full thing. That may have to extract fat from your back, literally like you're getting liposuction, but they don't take anything to it so that you'd see a difference in your fat. And then they inject, they spin it in a centrifuge, inject it back into you. And I think we have one video of my shoulder with the stem cells actually going in. You can see the needle and look at the expansion there. That's as that starts expanding into the little black area there. Yeah. You can see the stem cells going in. Anyway, if any of you have, I get nothing from this other than the pleasure that maybe you'll get healed too.
2:17Dr. Richie Striano, he does a week in Florida up in Stewart. And then I think his main practice is perhaps in Westchester. I'm actually not sure, but he's a phenomenal guy. And if you want to contact us to forward some information. Yeah, so we'll see, I'm hurting right now because I'm just filled with fluid. But anyway, let's leave that there. Let's talk about the world. Should we do Dave's weekly medical report or should we do a program about things happening on planet Earth? Let's do that today, okay. There's a lot to get to and most of it of course is around what I unfortunately think will be now a theme for a long, long time to come, particularly as it depends on what happens with the midterms.
2:56but the Democrats, it's all burst forth, right? Like there are no old school Democrats left. Yeah, we can do the Fetterman-Mar thing always, but institutionally and in the future of the party, it's socialists, communists, and I suspect even worse than that in the future. So we're mostly gonna focus on that today, but I wanna start with a congressional hearing over the last two days. They were doing some hearings on illegal immigration and a series of things, and well, often the women that get raped and brutalized and murdered by these illegal immigrants that the Democrats don't care about. And one of the people that they had testify was the mother of Sheridan Gorman.
3:37You remember, she was the girl in Yorktown High School who was murdered by an illegal. It barely made any mainstream coverage whatsoever. Interestingly, AOC went to Yorktown High School in Westchester, New York. She's not Jenny from the block. She went to New Yorktown High School in Westchester. And she has not posted a single thing about Sheridan, a girl who was murdered by an illegal from her own high school. So let me get you caught up on what happened and then we'll get to the hearing. This is from Fox. The mother of an 18 year old college freshman killed in March, allegedly by a criminal illegal immigrant, asked lawmakers Tuesday to look her in the eye and explain why people here illegally matter more than American citizens delivering emotional testimony during a congressional hearing on sanctuary policies.
4:22Jessica Gorman, whose daughter Sheridan Gorman was fatally shot after going to the Chicago lakefront with friends to see the Northern Lights, accused sanctuary city leaders and politicians of failing to protect her child during a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on sanctuary policies. So let's dive in. Here is Jessica Gorman, the mother. Her daughter was murdered by an illegal immigrant just months ago, about six months ago, five months ago. And here she is laying out what I think most of us now realize, which is that the Democrats simply do not care about Americans or victims. I understand that you're here for a reason.
5:04I don't understand why it's only the Republican side that cares about our American children. And I know that you're a mother. I know that you're a father. I deeply value that. But basically what you just did, what you said was, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a daughter too. I have a son. I feel your pain. You don't. You don't feel my pain. Because the next words out of your mouth were, but. There's no but. When your child is in the coffin, there's no but. And I need you to understand that. And if you ever want to talk about it, I'm here. I'm going to buy you a bench. I'm going to buy, I can put that on the record.
5:38I'm going to buy Congress a bench. And they can come and sit and hold my hand and look me in the and explain to me why illegal immigrants are more important than my daughter. I really wanna know because I don't understand. I mean, wow, it's hard to watch and it's real and it's raw, but she's really effective as a communicator too, right? I don't think she rehearsed that. I think she was kind of shocked that Democrats were going, oh, you have our condolences, but. But that was phenomenal and 100 % precision correct. And if you now wanna see, you know, I sometimes say, oh, this is the craziest clip we've ever shown or the most disgusting clip we've ever shown or whatever.
6:20But this, I think, will not, we really do have to keep a catalog of this. And we can just, at the end of the year, we'll go, these are the worst 10 things that we're seeing. Pramia Jayapal, who is just absolutely disgusting, plus her political views are pretty bad too. She did win, what was it? She won, most likely to scare small children in a dark room as a congressional member from 2021 to 2024. She, just watch this. This is absolutely beyond imagination. This is what she's saying directly to Jessica Gorman, whose mother was murdered, whose daughter was murdered. Unfortunately, this hearing is, it's the fourth time in this committee that we've had a hearing on sanctuary cities.
7:02The fourth time. And there's many other things that we could be doing other than this. Wow. I mean, is that one of the, can you imagine looking, maybe she looked her in the eyes, Jayapal's eyes are a little screwy, but maybe, but can you imagine saying that? We've done this four times. Well, okay, let's do it 10 times that. Let's do it 40 times until you effing morons realize that sanctuary cities, first off, should be illegal because of the supremacy clause, but why don't you care? Oh, I'm sorry. You had to come and do work today. It's not even work. You had to sit there and listen to a grieving mother.
7:41I'm so sorry for you, you witch. Here's Sheridan Gorman's mother, Jessica, going off on Jayapal for that. You don't want to talk about this. This is the fourth hearing. Do you know what I'm thankful for? This is so messed up. I'm going to say I'm thankful. After hearing, I didn't even know what an angel family was. Had no idea. Never even heard about it. There's so many out here. You know what I'm thankful for? I'm thankful that my daughter was just shot in the back of the head. Not raped, murdered, dismembered, put in a garbage can like Megan Boss with bleach poured on her and they didn't fire her for 50 days.
8:18And you can actually dismiss the angel families. You can say but. You don't want to hear four sessions on angel families. I'm sorry. You need to. You need to. You need to. I'm actually thankful that my daughter wasn't raped. How messed up is that? That I'm thankful every day that she was just murdered, not raped and dismembered. Like, think about that. Like, how messed up is that? I mean, man. And the truth is that they simply do not care. Do you think for one second after that hearing Jayapal was like, boy, maybe we have made a mistake here. Well, boy, that was pretty callous of me to say we've sat, we've had four of these hearings, we have other things to do.
9:00What better do you have to do as a representative of the people than to make sure that young women aren't murdered in the street? You just sat in front of a mother who was, she's relieved that her daughter wasn't raped or dismembered and was just shot. And if you think for one second that any of the Democrats, but particularly Jayapal, that nasty witch who I saw, what Disney movie was she in that she was the witch? Yeah, she was in Snow White, yeah. If you think for one second she has any bit of contrition or self-reflection, no, she simply doesn't. And we're gonna tee off the show with that because this is what the new Democrats are.
9:43They are not your aunt's Democrats. They're not even your aunt. They are a bunch of extreme radicals who want to flood the country, who want to usher in socialism and communism and everything else. They don't care about you, the citizen. They wanna take from those who produce, and they wanna destroy the greatest country in the world. But let's talk about Relief Factor for a second, because I am a little banged up at the moment, but you know I love Relief Factor, and I did ask my doc. I said, doc, I just got some stem cells. Can I still take Relief Factor? He said, absolutely. Alexa will present me with the Relief Factor, just like Price is Right.
10:16And can you open that for me? Thank you very much. Watch this. Man, is that smooth or what? Look at that. Yeah. All four pills. Come on, you got it. You got it. There we go. All right. There you go. Pretty good. Guys, relief factor works. Like, take it for a couple weeks and it really will kick in, whether it's your back, your shoulders, your knees, or general muscle soreness and exercise, or from exercise in daily life. It can make doing the things you love a lot less enjoyable when you're banged up. and that's why I take Release Factor. Visit relieffactor.com or call 1-800-4-RELIEF. All right, if kids are watching, you may wanna cover their eyes because we're about to throw back to Jayapal over here and she just, and really for adults, really no one should be watching this.
11:31Why am I torturing myself? I don't know. But here is Jayapal telling Caitlin Collins that the crazies, well, she doesn't call them crazies, but the communists are here and it's very exciting because why not welcome him in and see what happens? Our colleagues over at KFAL found that one of the candidates who won in New York last week, Daria Elisa Avila-Chevalier, she's running in New York 13, I believe. She repeated sympathetic references to communism, Marxist ideology, Soviet figures like Vladimir Lenin. Do you believe that complicates the argument in favor of these candidates who are Democratic Socialists?
12:07I think Dalia-Liza Avila-Chevalier ran a campaign that convinced the voters of her district that she would stand up and fight for them. Whatever labels you want to attach to it, whatever she said, I believe that we've got to understand that Big Ten means Big Ten. You know, it's interesting. A political party has a platform, right? These are the set of ideas that we believe in. And usually we have a Republican set of ideas and a Democrat set of ideas. And Big Ten, I mean, who says the phrase Big Ten more than me, right? The idea that Trump took the Republican Party platform and he really expanded it and welcomed in all these ex liberals and welcomed in some libertarians and all of this stuff.
12:51I'm all about the Big Ten. But what you have to have with the tent are tent poles. You have to have something that's holding it up. And in essence, what Jayapal and what the Democrats are all doing right now are saying, let's welcome in all of the crazies. We're just a big tent party, but it has to have some cohesive set of views, right? You might say that MAGA, yeah, it's a little, it has welcomed in these people. Like what did MAGA do? MAGA suddenly said, well, we don't really care about the gays anymore. They're fine. They can come in. That's just fine. And yet at the same time, we're still gonna be MAGA where Trump is going to appoint judges that are gonna flip Roe v.
13:28Wade. But those people that maybe wouldn't have been allies, say 20 years ago, were all like, oh, we can all fit in this because we have to order in our own mind what is most important to us. And oh, MAGA kind of represents America and love of country. And that's why it became a wide tent. That's very different from what the Democrats are doing right now. They've got a wide tent, but basically you have the socialists and the communists that have a hammer and they're whacking away at the polls and they are gonna take the entire tent down and it will just be a series of crazy people. And by the way, all of these people, and we'll have more on some of them in just a sec, all of the people that they're bringing in right now, none of them have any experience building anything.
14:09None of them have used their progressive values to build a business or a company or real world experience. They are all far left activists. And the only thing they've been trained in is how to burn down the country, which if given the opportunity, I think they are going to do. And of course, they got another win this week, I'll take this from Fox. Melot Kiros has become the 28th candidate endorsed by a far left group to win a Democrat primary this cycle, according to Fox News. The 29-year-old Democratic Socialist is now in the same company as Graham Plattner, the Nazi, the scandal-plagued Democrat Senate nominee in Maine, as well as the trio of Zorhan Mondami-backed House nominees, Brad Lander, the most pathetic loser on the face of the earth, Claire Valdez, I'm editorializing some of this, and Darrel Asia Avila Chevalier.
14:54Kuros ran for Colorado's first congressional district and was supported by the DSA, Democrat Socialists of America, the Working Families Party, and the Justice Democrats. Here is Ms. Kuros in her acceptance speech. I'm about the same age that my dad was when he came to this country, betting on the promise he chose Denver to be our home because he knew that this city would welcome us. And that same city just voted to send a 29-year-old recovering lawyer, barista, immigrant, democratic, socialist to Congress.
15:42You know, it's funny, Malat, your father came here from Ethiopia. and he fled disastrous things to come to the promise of America. And then I'm going to go out on a limb in that you were a lawyer that he did okay because of capitalism and freedom and all of the wonderful things that America affords immigrants. And then you now have come in and said, I'm going to try to change all of that. I'm going to be a Democrat socialist, which as you know, guys, the word Democrat is out. It's socialist for now. They're already kind of winking at communism. and they'll embrace that soon enough, right around the time they start putting on the suicide vests.
16:21But this Kiros lady has some rather extreme views. Here she basically says that 9-11 was pretty much our fault as Americans. And I'm asking you, was 9-11 an inevitable consequence for America based on U.S. foreign policy? Inevitable in the sense that we destabilized a lot of the Middle East that forced people to believe that another act of violence was the only response. And again, just like I said before, our responsibility is to getting rid of those conditions that lead to violence in the first place. Ah, yes. We destabilized the Middle East. The United States destabilized the Middle East because, you know, before the United States ever got involved in the Middle East, say, you know, around World War II, the Middle East was completely fine.
17:10I mean, there wasn't the Italo-Turkish war. There wasn't the Egyptian-Ottoman war. There wasn't the Ottoman-Safavid wars. There wasn't the Syrian civil war, the Yemeni civil war. Cozy season is ahead and you'll be spending way more time inside. Is your home ready? Don't worry. With Wayfair, you can upgrade your space without breaking the bank. 18:12Everything is our fault. These people have no autonomy. They just react to whatever America does. What she really is saying is, America, you deserve it because I don't like you very much. And now she is nominee in Colorado. So good luck with all of that. Here's a bit more. Here she is with the star of the moment for these people. This is this absolute psychopath, Hassan Piker, who's the number one streamer for these guys. He's called for political violence. He went to Cuba on an illegal trip. He electrocutes his dog. He has a special computer for porn. Like that's really dedication if you've got a whole other system for it.
18:44But everyone's going on his show now. And here they are with a bit more of her thoughts. Abolishing ICE is just one step, right? Democrats have been in power multiple times over the last few decades and did nothing to address the immigration reform that we actually need. Increased ICE expenditures, increased spending. Exactly. Yeah. And so if we're, I think there has to be an immediate pathway for every single undocumented immigrant that's here in this country today that does not require them to shell out Thousands of dollars to go through their process for it to take decades at a time to be able to get to citizenship All right, so abolish ice that standard 101 with them But think about what she's saying like how about why how about someone ask them?
19:23Why why if you are here should you have a pathway to citizenship? You can probably make some arguments around it You could probably make some arguments around somebody that's been here, you know, someone who's a grandmother now that came here 30 years ago, that, you know, was a housekeeper, whose children then were American. Like you can make some arguments around something, right? But they don't make any arguments or anything. She basically said, we want a pathway for everybody and you don't wanna charge them any money. Why? How about no? What a sane society would do. I mean, I say this all the time.
19:55This is like Jordan Peterson, before you clean up the world, clean up your house stuff. We have so many problems in America right now. We have huge, I would say structural, existential problems in that we have a political party that now wants to destroy the very framework of the country. So how about at this strangely precarious moment, we don't just let everybody in. We don't open up the border. We don't announce that 15 or 20 million people who are here illegally will just magically get citizenship. We deal with voter ID, say the SAVE Act, et cetera, et cetera. But they don't want any of that.
20:28Basically what they're always telling you is, they don't care about these people. What they're telling you is we need more of them because they will vote for us. We will then give them stuff while telling them how horrible the country is and they will always vote for us. That's what's really going on here. It doesn't take a wizard to figure it out. Connor mentioned to me that someone in the Rumble chat made a good point that Jayapal looks like, and I think we've got it, That is Newt Ganray, the separatist leader who obviously was involved in the blockade of Naboo. And frankly, I think he's a little better looking, if I could be just totally honest there.
21:07Here's Jayapal again, and she can't figure out when socialism ever worked, but that's not going to stop her from trying to import it. The reason that Donald Trump has to pivot from saying socialist to saying communist now is because socialism is actually quite popular. These ideas, whether you call it socialism or not, they are very popular across the country. So he's got to attach a new label to it. But I'm not concerned. We're all going to be here fighting for the things that we are for and that we want to deliver for working people. Congressman, you just said socialism is very popular. Can you name one socialist country that ended well?
21:46There's plenty of examples of how these policies make a real difference. and I'm excited to make sure that Americans have the access to them. Thank you. Can you name one country? And no, she can't. No. These people want endless power. Progressives only want to progress to power. And because of that, because their goal is power, you could loosely do it like this. The progressive goal is power. It is state power. We will tell you how to live. We're going to say we're going to give you all of these things, but in essence, we're gonna strip them, your freedoms from you. So that's what's happening on the left.
22:21And on the right, generally, not always, the goal is freedom, freedom and or liberty, right? Like let's figure out ways to get the government off your back and you can figure out how to live for yourself, which of course, to the backdrop of our 250th anniversary is how the founders intended us to leave. But when your goal is power, you will do and say and excuse literally, literally, literally anything to get there, which is why they don't mind bringing in the Nazi. Well, is he still a Nazi? They don't mind bringing in the communists because, oh, communism never worked. We're on our way to power and we gotta collect as many Pokemon cards of power.
22:58Did that reference sort of work? I never really did Pokemon, but I think that makes some sense. We gotta collect them all so that we can get power. Here's Ro Khanna excusing all these people. It doesn't matter. Hey, we're trying to get power over here, bro. One of the things that drives me crazy is our inability to stand by progressive Democrats or Democrats, for that matter, because of some dumb thing or inaccurate thing they may have said in their past. Oh, really? Like, I don't know, America deserves 9-11 or a 20-year Nazi tattoo or anything else. You will run cover for any of these people.
23:36But we know, obviously, if there was a guy with a Nazi tattoo who was running as a Republican, you'd be having a freaking hearing about it every day. And by the way, the difference between the Democrats and the Republicans is if there was a Republican with a Nazi tattoo, a huge swath, I think 90 % of Republicans would be standing up against him. But you guys have wholly embraced it because you are on the quest to power. and power, the quest to power is more fun with some friends. That should be like a video game slogan or something, like that's it. I thought this was interesting. On Fox, they did one of these things where they bring in a bunch of people, it was mostly veterans actually, and they asked, these are people who have fought wars, put their life on the line to reject socialism and defend our way of life here in America.
24:24And here's Lawrence Jones asking them what people think about socialism and communism. Tell us about this rise of socialism. How do you feel about it? Do you think that it's scary or do you think voters are going to reject this? I think that voters are not going to reject it because they have no idea what communism is. My family lived, my father's side of the family was their whole lives under communism. And I blame the colleges. The colleges and the school system, they don't teach these kids what communism, where we are, how we became a country as what we are today. We came over here with nothing.
25:05My family worked hard, and here I am. That's what we call the American dream, and we're so glad they did. Yeah, that is the American dream. Again, I do this all the time, but I think it's important. Think about whoever came here to America from your family. On my side, it was great-grandparents on both sides. Did they come with a lot? Pretty much nobody came with a lot, like pretty much nobody. And then there was the promise of America. and go west, young man, and make something. And all of us, these people who are so angry about everything, this Hassan lunatic who wears St. Laurent clothes, or what is his watch?
25:41Someone checked his watch. Cartier. Cartier watch and everything else. I don't begrudge anyone anything. But these people are absolutely lying to you about what this country is and stands for, and they are trying to turn it into the places that our ancestors left. And again, the question is, are we going to let them do it? I don't know. However, I do know that thankfully the founders did have some defenses against this. And one of the main defenses of the whole country going bananas at once is that we have federalism. So the states are allowed to do different things. Well, right here in the free state of Florida, once again, surprise, surprise, we are doing everything right.

26:20Here's Ron DeSantis yesterday announcing some new groups that are going to be on our official terrorist list. Based on the recommendations of Florida's domestic security professionals and the authority, the newly established authority in law, my office and the cabinet are poised to officially designate the first slew of terrorist organizations under the new law. That'll be a reaffirmation of my prior executive order for the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council of American Islamic Relations. We will also be adding and ratifying Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, as well as a number of groups that are affiliated with drug cartels or themselves drug cartels, such as Cartel de Senanola, Tren de Aragua, and other ones that you've heard of.
27:15and then finally, including this initial tranche, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran. All right, so you might be watching that going, oh, this is standard stuff. They just do things right in Florida, but really think about how different, regardless of who's president in the future, how different things will be in the states. There are gonna be blue states that will embrace those organizations. Like there's no doubt that Rashida Tlaib right now has connections with the Muslim Brotherhood and absolutely with care. the Council on American Islamic Relations. These are terrorist organizations.
27:47Some of them have been co-conspiracers in trials. The Holy Land Foundation, Antifa, obviously the destruction they've brought on our streets. So going forward, whether it's a Republican president or a Democrat president, well, Florida law enforcement will have the tools to break up these things, to figure out what they are doing, to look into local cells, et cetera, et cetera. And the question is, do you think New York will do that? under Kathy Hochul and Mom Domi. No, they'll likely look the other way as they're building their dirty bomb or California or anything else. So might I recommend that every red state go ahead and start doing some stuff.
28:24Stop waiting for the federal government to fix everything because as good as Trump is and as much as he's trying to do, there's a limit and it could all be ending in November. So we shall see. Let's talk about Angel Studios for a minute and then we'll jump over to New York City where if you were listening to the communist jihadi who's in charge over there last night. Raise your thermostat, freeze the rent, stop builders from coming in and making new buildings and everything else.
29:35Before I start this segment, I do want to show you something here. We have two mini splits in our little office here. We are keeping this baby at a cool, brisk 65 degrees. Connor's wearing a winter coat, but I like it. There's Connor right now. Good luck with all that. How did it work out for him? He almost gets eaten. Well, but he slices the, what was that guy called? The wampa? What was that thing called? No, not the, no, the tauntaun is what he wrote in there. The frozen beast? What was the beast? The frozen beast on Hoth. What the hell was it called? The tauntaun was what he wrote. These things smell worse on the outside, on the inside.
30:11What? The Wampa? It was called the Wampa, right? Yeah. God, what a plethora of ridiculous knowledge. But anyway, we keep this thing at a nice 65. I like it cool in here and it's hot as hell out there. It's 90 degrees in Florida, July day. But in New York, they're doing it a little differently. This from Zorhan Mamdami. In New York, it's hot out there and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool. So set your AC to 78 degrees. turn off lights, electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can. Our city is doing its part too, maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming, turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.
30:52A stable grid means the AC stays on and lives are saved. Let's ease demand and get through the heat together. Let me just, first off, first off, there is zero chance, zero chance that that communist fella slept in 78 degrees last night. Zero chance. And if you want to prove me wrong, Zorhan, well, you can put a live webcam in your bedroom tonight and show us the entire time because a picture won't do it. Zero chance. Also, I lived in New York City for about 15 years and we had really hot days and somehow the air conditioning worked once or twice over the years. I think I can only think of one time, and it was for a couple hours, where there are some issues with the power grid.
31:37So this is not really a power grid issue. I have no doubt that they're screwing up all sorts of things, and they've probably DEI hired a whole bunch of people who don't know anything about electricity or switches or anything else that are running all this stuff. But this is just another way. Well, you got communism, guys. And I'm just telling you, if you think that he or his comrades are sitting in 78 degree rooms while they're eating their foie gras and their caviar, I got a bridge to sell you, a bridge which is likely falling apart because they don't know how to fix anything over there. And it's not just that, he's also freezing rent.
32:11How exciting. This is a video he put up the other day. New York, the Independent Rent Guidelines Board just froze the rent. That means if you're one of the more than 2 million New Yorkers who lives in a rent-stabilized apartment, your rent's gonna be frozen next year.
32:29okay now if you're very dim-witted and you don't like to think about things i.e you're a democrat you might go well that's pretty good he's freezing rent that'll help those two million people now i want you to think he's also the person who's complaining that all these buildings are in disrepair and all these other problems well now imagine you're a landlord and you go boy i can't make more money next year but the prices of everything are going to continue to grow and and I'm actually gonna now start losing money or just making less money, it's going to make it worse for everyone. What you want, if you want prices to go down and maybe someone should send Zorhan Mamdami an economics 101 leaflet, a little pamphlet, just a placard, you would want competition.
33:10Oh, look, that new building, and we always also lowered regulation. They built a new building over there. Hot diggity dam and people start moving in. And then another guy is like, wait a minute, I can build a building that's more efficient over there and I'll be competitive with them. I'm gonna lower the prices by 5%. And then this guy over here goes, well, geez, they're getting my people. I better lower the prices again. That's what capitalism is. Communism is complete control where you tell people what they can charge for their private property. But now I'll give you an even more cynical version of what he is doing.
33:43And I think this is very important to understand. If you were just caring about numbers, and again, the quest to power, I don't know how many landlords, can you Google it? I don't even know that they can get your number. How many landlords are there in New York City? The amount of people that own buildings is obviously way less than the people that are the tenants in those buildings. So if you are just going, I want to attain power at all costs, you would pander to the tenants at the expense of the landlords, obviously, right? A landlord might own five buildings and let's say 50 units. And you're gonna say, well, screw him.
34:18He gets one vote. but all of those people who are confused about the issues, I'll get all 50 of their votes. So it's a deeply, deeply cynical thing. So there's about 90 ,000 landlords. Now they're not, they don't all own rent stabilized apartments which is what he's talking about there for those 2 million people. But if in essence you say to those people, hey, we don't need you, there's 90 ,000 of you, but there's a whole several million bunch of people who we can trick into thinking that freezing this is good. And yes, their buildings won't be repaired as much and ultimately it will cost the prices to go up and there will be people that were fleeing and everything else.
34:51Well, good luck with all of that. And yes, speaking of people that are fleeing, lists from the New York Post, Google billionaire Sergey Brin exits New York City real estate as landlords suffer from rent controls and expensive costs. So again, congratulations, Sergey Brin. He's here now, he's in Miami, right? He's got this freaking sick ass yacht you can drive by if you're going by Miami Beach. And you know what, people work on that yacht, People repair that yacht. Somebody's, they've got multiple waitresses on that yacht. You got a captain of the yacht, probably have a doctor. And these are all people who are functional and that we want in this place.
35:28But there's something even more ridiculous about what he's doing, because there is a historical precedent for what happens when you freeze rent. This from Ben Shapiro, you might have heard of this guy. For those who don't know about the 1970s, a gigantic percentage of all housing stock in the South Bronx was burned to the ground by landlords who made more money off the insurance than the rent. You understand that? Let me give you a little more context on this from Wikipedia. The 1970s South Bronx building fires were a series of fires, look at those images, that severely damaged the South Bronx and destroyed more than 80 % of the buildings in the area.
36:07Most fires were the result of arson usually caused by landlords recruiting Bronx residents to start them, but the South Bronx fires were not a singular coordinated event. Rather, the fires were the result of multiple socioeconomic factors and trends spanning several decades. These factors included, but we're not limited to, redlining and housing segregation, the economic crisis of the 1970s, newly available property insurance programs, poor fiscal management by the city of New York, budget cuts, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The point is when you start telling people who own things, you can't profit off them anymore.
36:39We are going to control them. And by the way, they're also saying, they're saying you will profit less because of rent control, rent freeze, right? Also, what did he say a couple weeks ago? The government will start seizing buildings if you don't do what we want as it comes to repairs and everything else. Well, then you don't really own the thing that you own and you might be sitting there, mafia movie style, Goodfellas, when they went, what was the club, the Tiki Lounge in Goodfellas that they burned down? I think it was called the Tiki Bar, Tiki Lounge. Give it to me, give it to me. We can maybe get an image of it when they're sitting there out there having the conversation and they burn the whole thing down?
37:13What was it called? The Bamboo Lounge. The Bamboo Lounge. Okay, close enough. And eventually you might go, boy, you know, I'm looking at the numbers here. This isn't looking good for me. I barely own my thing anymore. I'm completely controlled. I can't make the profit. I can't build new things because they've created a situation where that's not good for anybody. Let's burn this MF-er down. Okay, so that's that. What else is going on in the country? Well, you know, there were a bunch of Supreme Court decisions that were laid out over the last couple of days. and it was a very mixed bag. It really was.
37:42But I'm not gonna sit here and say pack the court or burn it down, unlike what they did in the South Bronx. I think you have to make better arguments. The one that was, I think, particularly twisted is this birthright citizenship decision, which the Supreme Court fully backed, including some of the conservatives on Trump's court, right? So it's always Trump's court when it doesn't go the way of the lefties, but the conservatives did vote that birthright citizenship will remain. And I just, for a second, just think how ridiculous that is. You go to vacation anywhere. You jump on a plane, your wife's six months pregnant, you go to Mexico, you go to Kuala Lumpur, you go to India, China, or El Salvador, and your wife gives birth.
38:25Should she be a, should your child be a citizen of those countries? Of course not, it's completely profoundly absurd. Here's Lydia Moynihan, one of the few people who does make sense on CNN, talking about the amount of Chinese babies that have been born in the United States. It's actually going to blow your mind. They wanted to change birthright citizenship via executive order. That seems like, I don't know, bad politics, bad optics, maybe both. I mean, we already know that foreign adversaries are exploiting this. There's been 1.5 Chinese CCP babies who've been born on the U.S. 1.5 million people who've come via birth tourism to have children in the U.S.
39:05over the last few decades. I've never seen the number be that high. I don't know if you're referring to... The New York Post has reported on it. I don't know if you're referring to... That's an issue that we know our foreign adversaries are exploiting. Are you talking about just Chinese nationals who have children here? You realize that not all of them are here to give birth via birth tourism? Okay, we can argue about the numbers. That is the number that's been reported. I'm telling you... If we are being truthful, the true scale is not 1.9 million... 1.5 over the last few decades. million Chinese people coming only for the purpose of birth tourism.
39:39We already know that this is something that our foreign adversaries are using to exploit us. We already know that 61 % of people who come and have a child here are on social welfare services. As I always tell you, that Abby Phillips, she is just, there's nothing behind her eyes. She is so dim and dumb and always pretending she's a lawyer for the Democrats. And actually, yeah, the 1.5 The 1.5 million number was correct. President of the Government Accountability Institute, Peter Schweitzer, who we should have on the show, he testified to the Senate that 1.5 million nationals now hold US citizenship through birthright citizenship.
40:14It is completely and utterly absurd, but Abby, again, why are you playing lawyer for this thing? Do you think this is right? Abby, if you got pregnant and you were on vacation and you went to Canada, you think your kid should just be Canadian? It just makes no sense and we all know it. And I will not sit here and pretend that I read all of the statements from the Supreme Court on this. But it was about right to privacy. That was the basic idea. But I just, I don't think they got this one right. It is what it is. But I'm not for burning down the building that they're in. Ironically, because Abby works over at CNN, in 2015, CNN was doing segments like this on how the, yeah, Chinese were using surrogates to have their babies in America.
40:56Anderson's surrogate pregnancy is not unusual. A growing number of women in the U.S. are becoming surrogates for wealthy Chinese couples. Agencies like West Coast Surrogacy in Irvine, California, are seeing a large influx of customers from overseas. In fact, 40 percent of their clients are from China. For one, their child will be a U.S. citizen. I'm sure that has some draw to it. There are other American companies trying to get in on this growing surrogacy industry. Unlike international adoption, there are very few rules governing international surrogacy. Here in a small desert town in Southern California, Audra Anderson says she's already considering carrying a third surrogate child.
41:46She can earn from$35 ,000 to$45 ,000 for each baby. So why is it, Abby Phillip, that 11 years ago, they were covering that on CNN and making sure it was an issue? And does that make any sense? Whether it's surrogacy or anything else, or just the Chinese mother, the Chinese woman who's pregnant and comes here on vacation two months before she's about to give birth and decides to stay, or accidentally gives birth here. And now there's 1.5 million people like this in the country? On top of then it gets chained, right? Then they don't wanna separate families. You're mean if you separate families. What?
42:24What allegiance do these people have? And how does this make sense at all? Not, it doesn't. It actually doesn't. There, I answered the question for you. This also doesn't make sense. Over in Minneapolis, they've been completely taken over by the Somali community. I thought this video was quite interesting because here's a man who, as far as I could tell, was just there for the rice and bananas and got caught up in something.
42:50I got a rule of my mind. Like, did he take a wrong turn? What's going on? I heard there was free rice and bananas, man. Who are all these women? What the hell's going on here? But guys, it's not over. It's not over for us. There are great things to still celebrate. One of them is what's going on with the World Cup, where, of course, the USA won last night. Here's some young people from America cheering on Team USA as we smack down. It's not just Bosnia. It's Bosnia-Herzegovina. USA! USA! USA!
43:41Let's stick with that. Let's stick with that. Which country do you want to be? You wanna be that or you wanna be the guy going, where's my rice and beans? Where's my rice and beans? Can I please? I wish I could get that excited over anything. That's what happens at some point. Guys, let's talk about chapter for a minute and then we got a couple of things on the other side. If you or someone you know or love is on Medicare, this is worth paying attention to. Medicare can be confusing and a ton of people end up on the wrong plan without even realizing it. That's where chapter comes in. They're independent Medicare advisors who compare every plan available, not just the ones that pay them the most.
44:16They look at your doctor's prescriptions and healthcare needs to help you find the plan that's right for you. If you're already on the best plan, they'll tell you, and if not, they'll help you switch. The call is completely free, takes less than 20 minutes, and seniors who work with Chapter save an average of$1 ,100 a year. Don't guess when it comes to your healthcare. Call Chapter today at 332-860-207 or visit askchapter.org slash Rubin. That's 332-867-0207 or visit askchapter.org slash Rubin. And I don't think that my mother-in-law would mind that she is on Medicare. We connected her with the chapter people and she now has a better plan.
44:52Okay, a couple of questions from the rubinreport.locals.com community. Loves to Laugh says, if young people are this brainwashed and unable to have a debate, where do you see any hope for our American society in the next 15 years? It's a good question, right? Like this communism thing that suddenly, like doesn't it seem much worse, say in the last three weeks than it did three months ago. Like things seem to be getting worse. But again, you have to remember, they're winning Democrat primaries right now. And the question is, will the average voter, not just the Democrat base, loony leftist wingnut, will they vote for this when we get to actual elections, when there's a Republican on the other side?
45:32Well, I don't know. We will find out. But is it obvious that the Democrats are going that way? Yes. Is it obvious that young people by every poll suddenly think socialism is good? I mean, that's the biggest condemnation. I want free education for everybody. Yeah, Bernie, I want free, I can't do it with my shoulder right now, but can I do half Bernie? But the reason they want all that is because they want to brainwash these people into thinking all of the wrong things, and clearly they've been successful at that. So it is hard to have hope in some way. However, how about those kids that were just cheering on the US of A?
46:05How about all the people that we don't see that are teaching their kids the right things and doing more homeschooling and all the rest of it. There's an awful lot of us. How about states' rights in places that it is working? And, you know, we just don't know. You know, humanity has a weird thing. Terrible things happen over and over and over again, and then good things happen. And there is something that I think is baked into the human experience that, you know, it's, what is it, guys? It's hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and then it becomes a cycle again, right?
46:40and then weak men create hard times. Like it's this endless cycle. And we seem to be in a version of it right now where we have a lot of weak men on the verge of creating hard times for us all. But remember, we're a huge geographic country. We have states rights. We have new ways of getting information. And I just think in a lot of ways, the country will go its separate ways, either personally or states wise and everything else. And we're gonna have to figure out defenses, which by the way is exactly what DeSantis did with those things that he just signed relative to the terrorist organizations.
47:10Larry says, Dave, I had an issue with my Copal order. How can I get help? Well, first off, we got so freaking, our team has already reached out to you, Larry. So keep an eye on your email. And we already checked on that one. But we did that 50 % off for Dave's 50th last week. And we sold, I think, 4 ,500 bottles in about 36 hours. Our distributor was completely overwhelmed, right? So we are working on scaling everything. You know, this is still a new business. It's only a year old. And we're trying to figure out all the ways to scale it. and I think we're gonna have a second, you know, we ship everything out of Miami right now.
47:43I think we're gonna open up a second shipping center in Cali so we can make things happen a little more streamlined and easy. We're working on all of that stuff. But if any of you have a problem with your order or anything else, you can send us an email, hello at drinkcopal.com. The team is checking the emails today. They will get back to you ASAP. And for those of you that ordered, yeah, you may not have received your bottle yet. We were hoping to get them all out immediately. They're just, they're there. Like, trust me, I've been watching them get as many as they can out a day and we're working to scale it, so hang tight with us.
48:11And I promise you when you will get it, it will be worth the wait. Margaret says, the question that comes to mind with all these commies winning in the primaries in New York City is how is Jeffries, how is Jeffries avoided getting primaried? You know, that's a good question. When is he up for election? I'm guessing he's... This November. He's up for this November? Does he have anyone primarying him? Does he have nobody? I mean, no one's gonna win. Yeah, you know, there's a weird thing with these guys. It's like, who the hell knows what really goes on like under the hood with these Democrat socialists?
48:43Are they basically like, you know what? Don't take out Jeffries because he has the slight patina of normalcy. So that'll help us usher in all this stuff because he won't stop us. Who knows? You know, the DNC still runs the show, at least for now. The DSA hasn't taken out the entire thing. So even though the machine is breaking down and everything else, like things don't happen overnight. All right, will Timo Obama be out on his ass soon enough? Yeah, obviously, but there's Schumer, there's Jeffries. You know, there's a couple of these other guys who, they suck, like they suck, they're terrible, they stand for nothing, they're wrong on everything, but I don't think they fundamentally despise the country and wanna destroy it and turn it into a communist shithole.
49:22They just happen to be in bed with people who do, so that's gonna be the challenge for these guys. But yeah, he'll be out soon enough. BackupNever says, do you have a pool for therapy? Swimming might help you get back on the basketball court. I do have to say that I had a really rough night's sleep, maybe like four hours, because this thing was killing me. Because I'm filled, it's not only the initial pain of this, but for the first 24 or 48 hours, as Dr. Striano told me, I'm so filled up with fluid right now from the stem cells that you can't, it's like a balloon that basically is filled with too much water right now.
49:52So it really does hurt. But I do have to say while sitting here, movement has actually been kind of, yeah, we do have a pool. I've been trying to get in every night because one of the things that's been good about the pool, Well, yeah, I can move a little easier, but you know, you float, you have a little buoyancy in a pool and it's hard for me to lift my arm, but in the pool, it just kind of naturally goes up. So it gives you a little extra movement. And I am gonna start physical therapy next week. And as I said at the top, when the doc was doing the ultrasound, he was like, man, everything was shredded and destroyed.
50:24And they're like pretty much everything. So we filled it all up. I have now done between this and wearing the sling and I'm eating right. I'm trying to do the infrared sauna and all the rest of it. I've done everything I can. And now we just got to see what happens here. Megan says, how was the overall experience with stem cell therapy? And have you had it before? I'm considering for my own shoulder and knee. You know, it's funny, Roseanne Barr just texted me that she also did it on her shoulder and knee, which is what I've done it on. And it sounds like, go, go do it. It's not cheap. Tell Dr.
50:54Striano, find him. Google Dr. Richie Striano, Stewart, Florida. That's where the Florida clinic is. And again, I think he's in Westchester the other weeks of the year, the other weeks of the month. But tell him I sent you. He'll hook you up. He is a great human being. He will explain all of it to you. And it's a little bit painful. I'm not going to say that it isn't. It wasn't fun being jabbed that many times and all the rest of it. But it works for my knee. I have a feeling it's going to work here. And how cool is it, really? You know, we talk about big pharma and all that stuff. How cool is it that your body literally has things inside it that if they can manipulate it, spin it into centrifuge, use the laser from NASA, can fix you.
51:33You don't need synthetic stuff. You don't need all this medication and everything else. You don't need surgery, right? In the old days, I absolutely would've got surgery, right? This bone is up here, it needs to be pulled down. But now if we can strengthen these ligaments enough, hopefully it'll pull it down. Like I just can't possibly recommend him more and good luck, good luck and keep us posted with that. Brian says, as you're getting ready for off the grid, what prognostications would you like to see happen over the next couple months leading to the midterms? I mean, you've heard me say this, but my main thing is we got July 4th in two days.
52:05And my main thing is that we need to get this resurgence of pro-American pride in our country. We've got to get it to scale. We've got to get, it can't just be a blip for two weeks. Ah, you know, around July 4th, we were all flying the flags and everybody. No, the difference between the parties is so stark and we have to make it obvious. And again, this is why I'm not as black-pilled as so many people, because I don't think that this communism thing is what the country wants, but the Democrats are choosing it. And okay, so you can win primaries with that, but can you win actual elections with it?
52:39We will see. Like, do you think Tallarico, who is a far left nutbag, is going to win in Texas the Senate race? Like, I don't think so, but we will see. Even in New York, okay, you've taken out with very few people voting, you've taken out some nominal nothing Democrats, but will all the Democrats want that come November? I don't think so, especially as they are turning their air conditioners up to 78 and are realizing that, boy, the rich people are leaving, the tax base is going, oh, and there's a lot of crime here and blah, and why are we a sanctuary city? Why am I a legal citizen? and they're taking my money to give illegals a bunch of stuff.
53:20Like none of it makes sense. And I think the more and more that we expose it, the better it will be. I will say this, one thing I've been thinking about relative to off the grid, which I only started thinking about in the last week. And it's why July is our busiest month. We have to do a ton of stuff in preparation. One thing I've been thinking is usually I'm kind of like, ah, you know, I don't think a lot will happen or I know I'm gonna miss stuff, right? Like I knew I was gonna miss who Biden was gonna choose as VP one year, which turned out to be Kamala. I knew I was gonna miss a Republican debate one year.
53:47You know, things happened. John McCain died one year. The Afghanistan withdrawal happened. Like obviously things happened in August. But I'm usually like, ah, it's August, not a ton is gonna happen. I have a feeling a lot is gonna happen. I think we're gonna have a really strange summer just because there's so many competing forces just floating in the ether right now. So we shall see. Okay, that is our show. We got a post game coming up in 30 seconds at rubinreport.locals.com. We'll see you tomorrow. Ciao. Hey Trump! Hey, still waiting for you to take up my challenge to cage fight you. Still waiting.
54:25You know, I've been practicing. I don't have to practice much though. So if you don't take up my challenge pretty soon, everybody's going to think you're a... Bop bop! Bop bop bop bop bop! Bop bop bop!

Dave Rubin of "The Rubin Report" talks about Sheridan Gorman's mother, Jessica Gorman, pleading with Democrats in a congressional hearing to listen to the parents of children who were killed by illegal immigrants, only to be told by Pramila Jayapal that Congress doesn't have time to devote to hearings on this topic; CNN's Kaitlan Collins being shocked by Pramila Jayapal's defense of newly discovered tweets by Democratic Socialist Darializa Avila Chevalier, where she praised Vladimir Lenin and communism; newly elected Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros caught on camera blaming the United States for the 9/11 attacks; a U.S. military veteran shocking a Fox News host with the real reason that young people are going to choose to support socialism; Google CEO Sergey Brin responding to Zohran Mamdani's NYC rent freeze by dumping his entire stake in a NYC real estate fund as Ben Shapiro politely reminded Mamdani of the Bronx fires of the 1970s, when landlords simply used arson to destroy properties made worthless by New York City's rent regulations; a full-fledged screaming match between CNN's Abby Phillip and Lydia Moynihan over Phillip's denial of the scary statistics of Chinese birth tourism as a way to exploit the United States' birthright citizenship laws; and much more. Dave also hosts a special "ask me anything" question-and-answer session on a wide range of topics, answering questions from the Rubin Report Locals community.
