In short

The host (Dave Rubin) argues that JD Vance’s PR push on a new Iran deal backfired on The View, then pivots to discuss the deal’s uncertain status (described as a non-binding MOU) and the media narratives around it. He also recaps a White House 250th-anniversary UFC event and discusses patriotic reactions to it.

Guests (mentioned)

Anna Navarro (The View co-host; discusses deportation conditions and Christian framing). Whoopi Goldberg (The View co-host; snaps at Navarro). Joy Behar and Sonny Hostin (The View co-hosts; described as combative/hostile). Greg Gutfeld (Gutfeld host; interviews Vance). Lindsey Graham (commentator; discusses the deal and reconstruction claims). Scott Jennings (commentator; supports the deal’s nuclear goal but distrusts Iran). Ed (interviewer on a clip with Vance). Alex Karp (Palantir CEO; interviewed by Bill Maher).

Key claims

The View was “hostile and ridiculous” toward Vance; Vance defended deportations by arguing criminals/violence are involved and families can leave together. The Iran agreement is not final and lacks enforcement mechanisms; Trump claims Iran will never get nuclear weapons “under his watch.” Rumors of $300M/$300B reconstruction are framed as exaggerated; any benefits depend on Iran ending nuclear enrichment and accepting inspections.

Notable examples

Vance’s exchange about detention conditions (clean water/education), family separation/“anchor babies,” and sex trafficking by cartels; Trump’s posted “Iran has agreed to never have a nuclear weapon” and “MOU” language; The View clip where Whoopi interrupts Navarro; White House UFC event with Justin Gaethje; World Cup rooting examples (Mexico/Senegal).

0:15Hello there Miami! How many conservatives do we have here tonight?

0:27If your spouse is a rip card and you bring them here tonight, oh yeah, bring them here. That was really good. You guys here, back to the house.

0:43Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

0:55All right, guys, here we go. I'm Dave Rubin. This is the Rubin Report. It is Wednesday, June 17th, 2026. And who was that man with two arms just wandering around a stage, just living his best life? Yes, most of you probably know right now we put up a little video yesterday and I shared on social on Sunday morning. I was playing ball as I do every Sunday and every Wednesday and most Tuesdays with my great group of guys. And on this particular Sunday, I was 50-50 whether I was going to play because, you know, it was the NBA finals were the night before. And I was, I woke up that morning. I was like, ah, should I play ball or just burn down a random bus?

1:38But I was like, all right, all right, all right. I'll play ball. Get out there, knock down four straight threes, including a game winner. beautiful beautiful finger roll feeling great and then this 21 year old kid who doesn't normally play with us we both went up for a rebound big guy probably six two six three and he just crushed me and somehow I just went straight down on my shoulder no arm out no nothing yada yada yada I have a level three AC joint separation so it's not actually my shoulder it's my AC joint so the collarbone that connects here you can't have a huge situation going on here we were almost going to put googly eyes on it and then i was going to talk to her like who are you you know uh that seemed like a bit much uh i've opted out of surgery and we're going to try it the other way just if the case three is like 50 50 on surgery and if you're like a true professional athlete as much as i'd like to believe i am then they usually do surgery i don't want two months of recovery so i'm probably going to be in this sling for about a month rehab i'm going to do stem cells maybe some exosomes.

2:44We're looking into a bunch of stuff and I'll take you guys on the adventure as we do that. But anyway, I'm on no pain medication right now. The show must go on. Here we are. We created this crazy contraption here. Basically, my arm is not really connected. So we're just trying to lift it as much as possible. Can you see? I can't really touch it. Anyway, oh, right. We got some pictures. So you can see the clavicle there is not supposed to be there. Can you get a picture of a regular clavicle and then we'll move on but you can see that there's a huge disconnect right now between where my clavicle and shoulder meet and that thing's supposed to come down so the thing is you can do surgery to pull it down everyone keeps asking me can they just pop it back in and the thing is they can pop it back in but the ligaments are all stretched and some of them are torn so if they pop it back in it'll just pop back out and that will hurt like hell so basically the hope is yeah that's what a normal one looks like so normally they're lined up properly that thing's uh let's i guess you could say a little out of whack um so basically uh we just need these things to heal and then hopefully with the stem cells and everything else that i'll do um they'll tighten up and then it'll pull the bone back down i might always have like a little quato like bone and if you get the quato reference i'm very impressed okay so uh let's do a show we'll do the best we can we did an abbreviated run through and hopefully i can make it through the whole thing and thank you guys for all the the kind wishes and so many people were sending like holistic treatments and which doctor to go to and all those things.

4:11The doc that I'm at is he's one of the orthos for the Miami Heat and the Dolphins. So I think I got a good doc here. I went to three ones. I got three opinions. One guy did want me to do surgery, but okay, here we go. So a lot going on in the world. Of course, the main thing is that we have some semblance of an Iran deal here. And interestingly, it's JB Vance. We're not going to focus too much on all of the specifics around the deal just yet because the Memorandum of Understanding hasn't even been fully leaked yet. So it's a lot of conjecture. So I don't wanna dive too deep on that. And I do have to say in that I took the last two days kind of off the news and I was on painkillers.

4:49There were so many people screaming at each other every which way on this thing, whether it was good or bad, or did Trump sell everybody out, or what the hell's going on here? And it was nice to not be a part of that circus. So what I'm gonna focus on today mostly is the media side of it. And to me, it was super interesting that yesterday, that JD, as opposed to Marco, is doing the PR on this thing. So he was on like half a dozen shows yesterday, big shows, and he was doing most of the sell job on this thing, which he's been kind of in the background on this. Yeah, he went to Pakistan for the negotiations, but Rubio has been doing most of the forward-facing stuff on this.

5:24So I think maybe you can read into something in that it's JD selling it right now and not Rubio. But in any event, he went on The View. And they talked about a whole bunch of things, not just the war. Here, and it was as hostile and sort of ridiculous as you can imagine. Here it is, Anna Navarro. Oh, yeah, there we go. We've got to warn you guys. Lecturing J.D. on how to be a good Christian as it pertains to deportations. The lack of clean water, the lack of medical attention, the lack of education. I would urge you as a Christian and as a father to visit those detention centers where the children are being held and make sure that the conditions are up to the values that we hold in this country.

6:10JD Vance:So you guys have thrown a lot at me and I see we've got 30 seconds left here. But let me say, number one, I'd like to pick up on this theme because I think it's really important. We do have to strike a balance, of course, between enforcing our laws. We don't want to dehumanize people. Some of the people that I've been told by the media were completely peaceful, had never violated any laws. You actually look into the record and you find out that those people were actually being violent or they did have a criminal record. They had a sex trafficking. OK, so we're going to show you a couple of things here.

6:38And you can almost in some sense, a picture is worth a thousand words. And just seeing the body language and the general hostility and everything else tells you more than any of the specifics. I also like the J.D. and this is where it reminded me of debate night. Remember on debate night when he kept doing this thing, Jim from the office to the camera, like, you know, a little of that? He was doing that there because they hit him with a hundred questions. And then there's a camera that's caught, that's there, right, a camera, there's a screen that's there and it's counting down. And so then, okay, you hit him with all this stuff and then he's basically got 30 seconds to answer it.

7:09Now, I don't know what she's talking about, that people are held in places without clean water. She's also saying without education, like what right do you have as an illegal to be educated here? We actually do sometimes put them in programs and a whole bunch of stuff once we've detained people. But I'm gonna venture to say, and please let me know if I'm wrong, does any country in the midst of a deportation process treat their people, you could call them invaders, do they treat them better than the United States? What country treats them better? If you were illegally in China, or you were illegally in Bolivia, or you were illegally in France, what country would treat the people they are about to deport better than us?

7:46So I don't know who doesn't have clean water. I don't know what, you don't have any right to educate. We better educate these people on their way out the door. It's just kind of ridiculous. And then he points out, you know, you guys were selling this as, oh, these are all great people and everyone's wonderful and there's no reason to do this. And in fact, a lot of them were criminals and a whole bunch more. Now, the other thing that he did, and this is where he is really good, he got into a bit about separating families. Now, remember, if you come here illegally and then you have a kid here, now the kid, because of birthright citizenship, is a legal citizen.

8:16Now, we can have that debate, and I don't see how it makes any sense to have these anchor babies, but you could have that debate, and that is the law, that someone born here is an American citizen. But it's on you. When they separate families, it's not that they're just randomly like, grab abuela, throw her over here, and Tio's going over here. It's that somebody's come illegally. The illegal's got to go. They don't force anyone to stay in the United States. So if the kid is legal, let's say a five-year-old's legal, and the father, he's 28, and he's illegal. Well, they don't force you to separate.

8:47You can both go together, but you don't just get to stay just because your kid got in as an anchor baby. Anyway, here they got into it on that. The majority of people that ICE is rounding up and taking out of their homes from their families, they're separating families, they're using children as bait. The majority are not primitives.

9:06JD Vance:Can I respond to that? Let me just say this. Okay. So you talk about the children. Here's what I'd say, do we know that during the last administration, we had tens of thousands of children who were sex trafficked by the cartels, who were brought into our country in profoundly dangerous and predatory conditions. But here's the point. Unless you enforce the border, you invite that kind of conduct. You think that our immigration policies are inhumane based on the reporting of one person with a political bias, what I'm telling you is that it's inhumane to allow cartels to sex traffic people across our border.

9:45Yeah. So this is, this is a masterclass really by JD. He's calm. He, he addresses that they don't seem to care. You guys didn't care when the border was wide open and they were letting drugs in and they were trafficking kids and all those things. You don't care about any of that. Again, as it relates to separating families and all that, we're not forcing any family to be separated. If you are illegal and we're going to kick you out, But you are welcome to take your family with you. And you have to decide then what is most important. And if it was most important that your kid stay here and become an American, again, regardless of what any of us think about the anchor baby situation, then you leave the kid.

10:19But if you don't wanna separate the family, you gotta go. Also ripping them out of bedrooms, it's just nonsense. And why don't they care? When she says, well, let's talk about this administration. Why didn't you care for four years when Biden had an open border that there were kids being sex trafficked, That fentanyl was coming through. You just didn't care about that. But anyway, the whole, J.D. really did a master class bang up job on this thing. But I want to show you one clip because just the overall tone, the tone that they had with him, it was so combative and angry and hysterical in slight contrast to when they had the last sitting president of the United States on the program.

10:58In case people don't know, you're like a straight white guy. So why was representation so important? I'm not sure you're a straight white guy. Known for like the chocolate chip ice cream and Ray-Ban sunglasses. The giggling, you're a straight white guy. You guys know that was just one little portion of it, but you know how it goes. Democrat comes on, you get glazed, they tickle your balls and you move on. And when it's a Republican, they're likely to kind of give you the shiv under the table. Now the other thing is it was so strangely hostile. And it was impossible to say whether it was Anna the worst or Sonny the worst, 50-50 probably.

11:35Whoopi was actually not as horrible as usual mostly. So here is Whoopi actually snapping at Anna because she just would not shut the F up.

11:47JD Vance:You guys might be skeptical of this, but I promise you it's true. I have to go to break. Anna, God, please, we have more with Vice President J.D. Vance when we come back. Don't do that. I mean, when you know, when you've pushed Whoopi into shutting you up, it's like, lady, have a little respect. Give the guy a chance to talk. And it's just so damn obvious. I know none of you are watching this going, my God, I can't believe any of that happened. Like, it's just freaking obvious. But JD, as I said, he went on a major press tour. I think he was on about six or seven shows yesterday. Here he is on Gutfeld talking about the experience of being on The View.

12:26JD Vance:Honestly, Greg, I expected them to be absolutely vicious. and they were only a little bit vicious. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Joy Behar even said during the break, not joking, she said, you know what? You're like pretty good for a Republican. And I was like, whoa. That is a way better compliment than I expected from Joy Behar. I got to say, I thought that Sonny, the woman to my left, was going to call me a racist. In reality, it was Whoopi, the woman to my right, who called me a racist. So expectations were defied. Oh, so actually, we didn't even play that clip, but Whoopi did imply that the administration is doing all these things to black people and whatever, which ironically, yeah, she still was kind of better than she usually is, but all right, that's interesting.

13:10It's also interesting that Joy, like, behind the camera, will be like, ah, you're not that bad. It's like, what do you think these people are? What do you think these people are? They are, he's the vice president of the United States, he happens to be a Republican, does he seem like a real dick to you or anything else? Like, you have political disagreements, who cares? Who cares? You know, I realize the toughest part of doing this, I'm a lefty, as you guys know, so my scribbling is just gonna be really unimpressive, and I don't even know what I'm, I literally don't know what, I may have you sit here for the next week or so, and you'll just scribble, I'll talk to you, and you'll, okay.

13:44All right, let's talk about Bub's Naturals for a second, then we'll get to the Iran stuff. Guys, by your mid-twenties, your body starts naturally producing less collagen. I can use a little over here. The protein that helps support healthy skin, joints, and recovery, that's why I take natural, Bubs Natural Collagen Peptides, which I did take this morning. When they ask how you heard about bubs, be sure to tell them that Dave sent ya, despite being a one-armed man. Okay, so let's talk about this Iran deal. As I said, we'll get into a little bit of the granular stuff today, but so much is coming through right now. And just even scrolling X this morning, everybody is just reporting on things that don't seem to be 100 % certain. Trump is saying things that don't fully match up with what is being reported.

14:54there's just a lot going on here, so I'm gonna try to give you like a blue sky version of it. But basically what we know right now is there is an MOU, that is a Memorandum of Understanding. It is not an official document that has, you know, triggers in it that can cause, if you don't do this, this is gonna happen or anything else. It's just the initial part. Sort of like when you're beginning a contract negotiation for a job or something, you might sign something kind of simple that kind of lay out the parameters with a little bit of a timeframe on it. That's kind of where we're at right now. And now I'll give you a little bit of the somewhat conflicted reporting on this.

15:30First, we'll start with Trump himself. The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all. I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and simultaneously herewith authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval Blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines, let the oil flow. Okay, so something has been signed. It was signed digitally by Trump and the Iranian officials, and that now leads to the blockade appears to be over, and Hormuz appears to be open. Here's a bit more from Fox on where we're at. President Donald Trump announced Sunday that the United States and Iran have officially reached a peace agreement marking a major diplomatic breakthrough that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and end the U.S.

16:15naval blockade of Iranian ports. Pakistani Prime Minister Shabazz Sharif, whose country has served as mediator, was the first to announce the peace deal, saying a signing ceremony is scheduled to take place Friday in Switzerland. Trump added that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen once the parties formally sign the agreement. According to Sharif, the deal includes the termination of military operations across the region, including Lebanon, where Iran-backed terrorist proxy Hezbollah has been engaged in a conflict with Israel. Additional details of the agreement, including any provisions related to Iran's nuclear program, were not immediately released.

16:49Iran's deputy foreign minister said the talks with the United States on a final and more comprehensive agreement will take place during a 60-day ceasefire period, according to Reuters. The outlet reported that the future of Iran's nuclear program will be addressed in upcoming negotiations. Okay, so here's where it starts getting a little bit messy. Actually, why don't I read Trump's next truth, and then I'll explain. So Trump posted this. Iran has agreed to never have a nuclear weapon. Also, the story that the The US is paying Iran$300 million is fake news put out by the Democrats. Okay, so according to Trump, Iran is agreeing to never build a nuke or bring in people, buy a nuke, bring in people that can make a nuke.

17:28Now, first off, I would say on all of this, if the main objective, which I think the main objective of all of this, according to everybody, and we've played the videos of Rubio and Trump and everybody else, Trump 40 years ago, Iran will never get a nuclear weapon. Why did we go to war now? They were starting to build up enough defense ballistic missiles and everything else so that they would have, as Rubio called it, a nuclear shield, that eventually their defenses would be too good and the war would have been much, much worse. That's why we did this, whatever it was, two months ago. But if the idea is they were never gonna have a nuke, if there is something signed that has some mechanism of trust, then I suppose it makes sense.

18:07Now, I would say the backdrop of all of this, and you know I'm not a black pillar, but I would say the backdrop of all of this is like, Okay, so for two years, let's say, let's say Trump has two and a half more years left. My guess is the Iranians will basically abide by it. Whether they mean it or not, they'll basically abide by it because they know Trump is a little bit of a loose cannon and who knows what he's gonna do. But is there any doubt that if any Democrat administration comes in that they will not enforce anything? You can't, who's gonna enforce this? The UN, like there's just no real mechanism here.

18:39So it's, and this is where it's just It's just the United States or bust. If you can like that, not like it, it is what it is. So to me, them agreeing we will never make a nuclear weapon, it only means something while Trump is in power or perhaps another Republican administration. But the second, I mean, imagine now it's the Dems that are in power, so it's Newsom or it's Buttigieg or it's Ayatollah too who will become a Democrat or whatever. It's like, yeah, they'll do whatever they want at that point. So this forever thing seems kind of silly to me, But okay, here's Trump talking about how they will not have a nuclear weapon.

19:13And the main thing is that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon. They fully agreed to that with strong policing powers, and they won't have a nuclear weapon, which is what it was all about. Mr. President, does the deal involve any sanctions relief for Iran? When would that go into effect? No, it doesn't. Well, they have to. It's really a behavioral thing. If they do what they're supposed to do, that starts taking effect. Okay, so he's basically saying, yeah, this was about the nukes. They're not going to have a nuke. I will take Trump's word for it that while Donald Trump is president, Iran is not going to get nukes.

19:50I think he actually does deserve our trust, which is what I've said. He's made the right decisions seemingly in so many cases over the last 10 plus years that he deserves our trust on that. Again, what happens post-Trump? So to say they'll never do it. Like, okay, yeah, yeah, we'll never do it. Of course we're going to do it. but I'll take his word for it that while he's president, they won't do it. Then on the sanctions thing, and whether they'll be getting some money, he slightly answered it two ways there because he sort of said no, and then he basically said, hey, if they start behaving, then maybe they're gonna get some cash.

20:23Now, that's diplomacy, I suppose, right? Like, if they start behaving, so what does that mean? I don't know, they oppress their people less, they stop funding Hezbollah and other terrorist groups, They stop racing towards a nuclear weapon. I don't know exactly what all of those things that you're gonna check off are, but I can accept that. I think that that seems fine. We got them to say they're not gonna get nukes. Again, it's just under Trump's watch. And that there could be some positives for them on the other side if they start playing and playing with the world and realizing, hey, the Gulf states are not our enemies.

20:57We just shot at 12 countries. Israel is not our enemy. If we would just stop fighting with them, they wouldn't be fighting with us, et cetera, et cetera. And here is Trump saying that if they don't do that, yeah, the bombs will start dropping again. We are not investing any money in Iran, by the way. And with that rumor we got out there yesterday, it was ridiculous. We have the right to go in someday and do, if I wanna do something or somebody wants to do something. Is the tax-to-date agreement now final or are you still - No, it's not final. It's a memorandum of understanding. And if I don't like it, we'll go back to shooting at him, dropping bombs on their head.

21:35When do you expect the word - If I don't like it, if they don't behave, we'll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head. All right, so there's where Trump, I think, is doing Trump 101 and Art of the Deal and all that stuff. It's just a piece of paper, is basically what he's saying. We got a piece of paper with some kind of vague agreement here, and if they don't abide by it, yeah, we can start bombing them tomorrow, right? So that's how you make people behave, right? Like you have to have a little bit of threat along with it and that's consistent with everything else that Trump's done.

22:07You know, interestingly, he's sitting there in that video, the first one he was sitting with French President Macron, there he was sitting with Egyptian President al-Sisi and you know, Sisi, relative to everything that's going on in the Middle East over the last couple of years, if he wanted to have ended, this is a slight sidebar, but if he had wanted to end this Gaza thing and save all of the Palestinians and everything else, Egypt's got a border. Can you grab a map real quick? give me a map of Gaza for a second. Everyone thinks it's just Israel that is keeping those poor Gazans in Gaza. But all that guy had to do was open what is a fairly massive border.

22:40And Gaza used to be part of Egypt since there was never a state known as Palestine pre-1967, it was part of Egypt. And all he had to do was open the door. And there quite literally is a door there. And then it would just usher people into Sinai where no one lives. I don't know why Trump didn't bring that up with him. There's a lot of things going on at once. But it's like, CZ, he plays with us, do we have it? He, look, so what you're seeing there, that Rafa border, look at that. So the Gaza is, you know, pretty much around, Israel's basically around Gaza, but there's a huge amount where they could just walk through that.

Read the full transcript

23:12So if anyone had believed that there was a genocide or any of this other nonsense, those Jews are just being mean to those Palestinians. Sure, they've got a couple of their women and children underground and everything else. CZ could have opened up that border. Notice nobody that purports to care about the Palestinians, whether it's the lunatics on the street in New York or Sisi himself or any of the Democrat politicians that are constantly rallying against Israel. Nobody said, hey, could you just open that door? Nobody's in Sinai, we'll throw a couple tents there. So that's a slight sidebar, but it is what it is.

23:42Here's JD talking about this rumor about the 300 billion that could end up going to Iran. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said yesterday, you are the architect of this deal. So let's walk through some of this. The Iranians are saying that they're gonna have access to a$300 billion reconstruction fund. true or false?

24:00JD Vance:Well, Ed, that's the sort of thing they could have access to, funded by the Gulf Coast Coalition, so long as they honor their end of the obligation. I think that one of the things you're going to see, Ed, and people have to be skeptical of this, is that the hardliners in the Iranian system will overemphasize the benefits that Iran gets while underemphasizing all the things that they have to concede and all the things they have to provide in order to get these benefits. So we We absolutely are open to the Gulf Coast countries investing in the reconstruction of Iran, but only if Iran ends their nuclear program, ends their enriched stockpile of material, and is really open to an inspections and enforcement regime that gives the American people confidence they're never going to have a nuclear weapon.

24:45Yeah, again, this is where JD is good, right? He just, he can explain things in a really kind of simple way. And he's of course right. If you're a hardliner in Iran, you've got to sell it to your people. like we won and the great Satan is off our back and we gotta sell all the things and not really emphasize the things that Iran is going to have to do. And you could make the same argument for America. Trump has to sell and JD has to sell all of the ways that this is good for America and not that we made any concessions or we didn't take the Iranian oil, which Trump said maybe he was gonna do and get Karg Island and all that stuff.

25:14So there's optics around all of this. But again, the 300 billion or whatever it is that the Gulf states or even the US might put into Iran, well, if Iran really, if they really realize, boy, you know, all the leadership's gone, we lost Ayatollah, our Navy's on the bottom of the thing, like this isn't gonna work anymore. Then maybe, and then they're like, and we can get some cash if we just kind of behave in the world community a little bit better, stop bombing our neighbors and everything else. Then I would argue it's probably worth it. Now, again, we have to see where some of that shakes out.

25:48Here's Vance pushing back on the idea that the Iran deal that we have now, which again is still coming in and it's just a memorandum of understanding, that it's the same, in essence, the same deal that Obama had before this. Obama took a shot and said, I don't think this deal is any better than the deal we had before. The JCPOA was dramatically different than what you were describing here tonight.

26:11JD Vance:And I'd ask the president, the former president, I'd say, Obama, why in the world, if it's the same thing, why is it that the Gulf Arabs hated your deal and they love our deal? They are the ones who are in the region. They know what it means to enrich the worst terrorist regime in the world. And they also know what it means to turn over a new leaf and to go to a different future. So I think President Obama, he should acknowledge that the people who are closest to this, they love the Trump deal. They hate the Obama deal. And that's maybe the biggest endorsement of this plan? Okay, so that part, I don't know that that's true.

26:48Like, we'll have to find out more from the Gulf states. Like, are they thrilled right now? I'm not totally sure. Did a lot of them actually want the regime to fall apart completely and everything else? I think that's fairly, the answer to that is obviously yes, right? The regime is the one that was firing rockets into their backyard. But again, this is where I just think the administration deserves a little bit of trust. So I'll go with you on that, JD. It's like, all right, if you're telling me that the The Gulf states are basically happy about this. And that again, it only matters while Trump's in office and maybe a Republican after that.

27:20Because the Democrats, not that the Democrats will rip up a deal, Democrats would be thrilled to make sure that the hardline regime has a bomb. Like that's just kind of how it is. There will be no enforcement under a Democrat, under a Democrat administration. Just, we all know that. Like that's what the JCPOA was, right? Like you don't have to really do anything. Just tell us. Tell us that you're not having nukes and we'll just trust you. Here's Scott Jennings, I think, making the point that at the end of the day, if they don't get a nuke, this was all worth it. My view of the Iranians is this.

27:54A, I don't like the idea of them having any financial relief because they take money and then they put it into terrorism. Number two, I don't think you can trust the Iranians. Number three, I don't think an Iranian signature is worth all that much. The one and only thing that I've ever wanted out of any of this was that they cannot have or ever get a nuclear weapon. That's been the president's top objective. I trust the president on that. And I know that's what he wants out of the deal. If we end up doing things, though, that on the back end enable them to do any kind of rebuilding of any terror network or any ability to terrorize us or anyone else, I would not be happy.

28:29Yeah, that's right. That's right. Like, again, what did he say? Trust. You kind of have to trust at this point, I think, I don't see an alternative to it, that Trump basically knows what he's doing, that he's not getting steamrolled here. So Jennings and I will take the same, it's not that you should blind trust any politician, including Trump, but he got us this far. You know, I think Trump is also, you have to understand, Trump is also looking at July 4th rolling around. I've been talking about this resurgence of patriotism. We'll talk about what happened this past weekend in just a moment. He wants gas prices to go down before the midterms.

29:01It seems like there are domestic political reasons that you wanna push forward on something. So Trump is not perfect, no politician is, but I think he's worthy of some degree of our trust here. And then as Jennings points out, if any money starts flowing in, and then suddenly we're like, boy, well they are throwing that money over to Hezbollah and Lebanon, which is occupying Lebanon. I mean, it's basically an alternate government in Lebanon, not the Lebanese government, in a country that 30 years ago was Christian majority, that's now Muslim majority, and people want them out, including the Lebanese president, who was just saying that a week ago, if they start giving them money, if they start funding the Houthis, if they start rebuilding the ballistic missile program, well then, at least while Trump is in office, I think there would be some degree of people being like, all right, this isn't gonna stand.

29:45Again, what happens with Democrats is a whole other thing. All right, let's put Iran there for a second. We'll talk about some positive America vibes in just a second, but first, Angel Studios. Guys, in a world where everything seems to cost more and deliver less, Angel's doing something pretty special for America's 250th birthday. Right now, you can become a premium Angel Guild member for just$15 a month, that's normally 20 bucks, with that price locked in for the entire year. And here's what you get. Two free tickets to see Young Washington in theaters this Independence Day, access to Angel's entire streaming library, and tickets to every future Angel theatrical release.

30:20So if you're planning to see Young Washington anyway, you're already coming out ahead. And I think Young Washington's exactly the kind of movie that's worth supporting. It's the story of George Washington before he became president. It's about a young man facing failure, uncertainty, and enormous challenges before becoming one of the most important figures in American history. I'm going to take the whole team. What's refreshing is that the film isn't interested in apologizing for America's existence. It's interested in understanding the people and ideas that helped build it. And beyond Young Washington, you'll get access to Angel's entire streaming library, including films like Homestead, Green, and Gold, The Last Rodeo, something to stand for with Mike Rowe, and an upcoming theatrical slate that's incredibly impressive.

30:58If you're looking for meaningful ways to celebrate America's 250th, this is a great place to start. Go to angel.com slash Ruben and become a premium guild member today. Angel.com slash premium. All right. No, slash Ruben, slash Ruben. Sorry. I'm not even on the drugs, and the mind is a little muddled. I'm feeling it, guys. Okay. Okay, so America had its 250th, our first 250th event at the White House over the weekend. I know I'm a day or two late on this because I wasn't in studio the last couple of days, but I hope you can bear with me. I think it's worth recapping some of what happened because it was a great celebration in D.C., a place that's been pretty banged up over the last couple of years.

31:36Trump's done a nice job fixing up. And it was a real beginning, first salvo, let's say, into celebrating our 250th anniversary, which is coming up in about two and a half weeks. here's a jet flyover of the mall during our national anthem.

32:03Yeah, I mean, it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. And it's like, if the Democrats were in charge right now, would we be celebrating? Would they be, honestly, like, what would the Democrats be doing? And do you think, let's say Kamala was president right now, and she was like, you know, we're gonna do this big 250th celebration, because America's big and concentric circles. Like, who would show up? What Democrats would show up to celebrate this place that was founded in slavery and all of the horrible things they celebrate in America? So it was just a joy to see just a celebration of America. Now, the other thing was that they had a big MMA fight.

32:34We've got some images of some of this. I mean, first off, these two images right there. I mean, it could be the, you know, does Time Magazine or Newsweek do the images of the year, but there's the octagon jets flying over White House in the background. They just redid the reflecting pool outside of the Capitol. I mean, just, it was just a celebration of America. It had nothing to do with whether you're a Republican or a Democrat. Now, basically everyone there was a Republican because if you support America, you're pretty much a Republican now. But then this was pretty cool. Phoenix, what's his last name?

33:05So I pronounce it properly. Justin Gaethje. Justin Gaethje. I'm not a huge MMA guy, a guy, a fighter by the name of Justin Gaethje, an American who was a six to one underdog. He beat the Spanish fighter and you know, Spain's gone pretty commie lately. So this was a little bit of Rocky IV, right? Rocky taking out Drago on Christmas day in Moscow. He was a six to one underdog, but he beat the Spanish fighter. And here is Rogan with a rather short tie asking him his feelings after the fight. You have been waiting for this moment your entire career and to win it in such a spectacular fashion in a fight where you were in some points 6-1 underdog.

33:46How good does this feel? Hey, I'm from America. 250 years ago, we were way bigger than 6-1 dogs. And look at this thriving now to all the current, former, and future military service members. Thank you so much. Thank you so much to all the first responders, the police officers, firefighters, ambulance, EMTs. You guys have no idea how grateful I am. And for as long as I'm able to, I will use my name to make money and support you guys. So it's pretty awesome. The guy at one point was a 6-1 underdog. The fight was under 20 minutes, fourth round. Obviously, he's pretty banged up. Other guy way more banged up in that he's just celebrating America.

34:28That's all it was. Just celebrating America. But what happens when people who are pro-America celebrate America? Well, you get people like this.

34:44I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican. I don't care if you're right or left. I don't care about any of that sh**. If you think anything about this is cool or American or manly, I have to assume that much like anybody associated with the planning and the production of this event, all of the sponsors of this event, Matter of fact, anybody that's even remotely associated with this event, much like all of them, you are so slow I could time you with a f***ing calendar. Nothing about this is cool. Well, you just don't like it because you're liberal and liberal men aren't masculine. Listen here, s***bag.

35:14I lift every day. I've done boxing and jiu-jitsu on and off for years. And I used to watch the UFC pretty religiously until I realized that 90 % of the fighters and a good chunk of the fans are racist, rapists, woman beaters, or right-wing s***bags. So then I stopped. Uh, sir. This is a Wendy's. You're also not supposed to lift every day. You're supposed to lift four days a week, right? Four days a week, three days for rest? Come on. It's ridiculous, guy. But anyway, that one video happened to be going viral. But that sort of, first of all, I guess it was nice to see a Democrat that doesn't have blue hair and a nose ring, and I assume he has his genitals attached to that.

35:47It's a refreshing in a way. But it's just like, you know what? All it was, it was just a celebration of America. But it triggered, it really, I don't like the word trigger, but it really just triggered all of the right people. Here's TMZ's Harvey Levin talking about how the elitists just hate this kind of stuff because it was just people coming together to watch a fight and celebrate the red, white, and blue. The people who are complaining that this is beneath the dignity of the White House are such elitists. It's just shocking to me that every president has held events at the White House. There have been presidents who loved plays, and people have put plays on at the White House.

36:30There has been opera at the White House. There have been great singers at the White House. And the reality is, fighting is part of American culture, like it or not. Millions and millions of people like it. And Donald Trump gave them access to the White House last night with an event that aligns with what goes on in American culture. UFC is huge in America right now. And people loved it. A lot of people didn't, but a lot of people did. And the idea of saying this is beneath the dignity of the White House, I think just speaks to how out of touch people are thinking that, yeah, we can hold events at the White House that are culturally things that I sign off on, but not things I don't.

37:18That is intolerant. Yeah, of course that's right. And look, if it was a Democrat, the Democrats would never do UFC, right? Because the UFC involves a little testosterone. It involves a little like, you know, you gotta go fight and win something yourself. So the Democrats would never do that. But the basic idea of the thing, that you're gonna hold an event outside of the White House. I mean, maybe we do this before every July 4th going forward. This happens to be the big one, 250. But we don't have to wait another 50 years. We don't have to wait another 50 years to celebrate this kind of thing.

37:49Man, I think I was in a UFC. That's what I should be telling people. That sounds better than a bad. Oh, a big guy smashed into me, I fell on my shoulder on the basketball court. No, actually I was fighting Slavo Jemarizak out of Croatia, and well, you don't wanna see him, let's put it that way. But that's the point, is like maybe we do this once a year outside the White House, just have a little extra celebration, and maybe one year it's a UFC fight, it doesn't have to be, I could see why some parent maybe doesn't want it to be a UFC fight, your kid's watching them beat the crap out of each other.

38:18So one year it could be a basketball game, one year, it could be hockey. I mean, there's all sorts. It doesn't even have to be a sporting event. Like you could find somebody, you could do the two legged race with celebrities. I don't know, you find some things to do that would just make us all put aside politics for a second, but you guys do that. But the other part of this, of course, that was crazy, is that all these people that are screaming about this, they didn't scream at all over the four years that Joe Biden was presidency, where there was a constant series of completely ridiculous circuses happening at the White House.

38:47The libs of TikTok put this up. Trump is making a mockery of the White House. And then the same people, and look, it's like you have all of them, don't even ask what was going on in the middle picture there for those of you that don't remember, but like all of these people, those are, I think those are all men. Everyone in that picture is a man pretending to be a woman except the one in the middle. And again, we don't have to get into what he was doing there in the House chambers. So it's like, maybe that was a mockery. And the guy on the right, the bald headed guy upper right, he turned, he was also a thief.

39:17He was literally stealing women. He was in charge, what was his job? He was in charge of like nuclear waste or something. Find out what his job was, that guy. And he was stealing bags at airports. He was stealing women's bags at airports and then wearing their outfits. And some woman found him wearing her kimono and was like, that's my kimono. His name is Sam Brinton and what was his job? He was the nuclear... Nuclear official. Nuclear senior department. Senior Department of Energy, some kind of nuclear official. And he was a guy dressing as a woman, stealing other women's bags and wearing their kimonos.

39:54I should be wearing a kimono for a couple of days. It would be easier than putting on this shirt. All right, guys, one more ad, and then we've got the big finish. You know, the government, big tech and data brokers collect an enormous amount of personal information, and it's not just a privacy concern anymore. Just a couple of months ago, a massive cyber attack exposed social security numbers, medical records, and home addresses for millions of Americans. The reality is that people search sites that can legally collect your name, address, and phone number, and even information about your relatives and sell it to anyone willing to pay.

40:23That's how people end up dealing with identity theft, scams, phishing attacks, harassment, and doxing. That's why services like Delete.me have become so important. Delete.me is a hands-free service that removes your personal information from hundreds of data broker and people search sites, making it much harder for your data to fall into the wrong hands. They've been leaders in privacy protection for over 15 years, use their own technology, verify information before submitting removal requests, and even provide access to real human privacy advisors when you need help. Delete.me was also recently named number one data removal service by Wirecutter.

40:54Get 20 % off as Delete.me, for the Delete.me consumer plans at joindeliteme.com slash Rubin and use promo code Rubin at checkout. Once again, that's joindeliteme.com slash Rubin, promo code Rubin. So I thought we'd end today, just slightly, barely abbreviated show. I told the guys I didn't know how long I was gonna be able to sit here and I'm definitely gonna scream when I move my arm in a second. I thought we'd end today with a little positivity about America. But before we get to that, you know, there's a lot of things happening right now. America's rolling into its 250. We seemingly are wrapping up this war.

41:26The World Cup is now happening. And as an American, you really should be rooting for America. Now, if you happen to have family in another country or you came from another country, let's say you're Italian-American and Italy is playing, can you root for Italy too? Of course. And is it that bad if you wanted Italy to beat America? It's not the worst thing in the world, right? Everyone has their own personal ethnic attachments and all those things. And America has a weird position in this because we are a melting pot. So you're supposed to bring all that stuff over, but to be American is unique and special.

42:00And that's why there's no country that I would root for more than America in any of these things, right? However, I thought this was kind of interesting. Here are two New York representatives, Adriano Espiot and Darialzi Chevalier being asked who they're rooting for in the World Cup. World Cup is here, the first match this weekend at MetLife Stadium taking place in New Jersey, even though some people say it is technically New York, but what do you think will win it all? Who are you rooting for? I like Mexico. Mexico, there you go. I'm rooting for Senegal. Senegal, okay. I'm rooting for Senegal.

42:35Okay, I'm not telling you that's the worst thing in the world, except to the backdrop of everything happening in this country and a movement to upend this country and upend our founding and shift us into a communist socialist state and everything else. What if a Democrat just wouldn't do it? I'm rooting for America. No, Mexico, Senegal, it doesn't matter what country it is. And ironically, because we are hosting it, the World Cup, well, here's how a lot of the foreigners who are visiting America feel about America. I cannot speak English, but I'm excited! We don't have this kind of stadiums in Europe, no way.

43:15And it's air-conditioned, it's very good. Texas is good, everything is big. Yeah, America's good guys, and when people come here they love it. And it's why all the people who hate it never leave and everything else, including, this is just from a couple days ago, but man has this guy just ruined his legacy. I can barely watch the meet the Fockers anymore. Or, yeah, it's De Niro. And listen to this dribble. The phrase we all love our country stuck in my throat because our country isn't so lovable right now. I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.

43:57I can't love a country that's led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant.

44:08And let me just say it, I can't love the country that's led by Donald Trump.

44:17I almost was going to really hurt myself when I was about to do my clapping seals thing. Like, oh, you're so original. Yes, he's racist and xenophobic. We're so tired of this. And these people, they think they're so edgy. Oh my God, Robert De Niro has been so abused by America. He's been so let down by America that he's only worth$500 million. That is the type of abuse that I would be willing to put up with, to be quite honest. But instead of ending on that, I would like to end, we've played a lot of videos of this guy. I really, I think he's great. I'm looking forward to getting him on the show.

44:47Alex Karp, who's the CEO of Palantir, was on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday night and he had the exclusive interview slot. And Bill asked him about American greatness. You're not afraid to say America is still the good guys, even though we've done horrible things. Everybody has. We're healing. But have a little perspective. I feel like that is what is so lacking today. Well, look, of course, America, like every great nation, has done some really f***ed up things. Right. Right. So that's obvious. Right. But look, but we know they're messed up because we hold ourselves to a high standard. And if you're going to compare us, which at the end of the day, morality has to be slightly compared.

45:25You're going to compare us to China, Russia, Iran. Who else even aspires to these standards? And by the way, look at how our lives have changed. We're roughly the same age. When I was born, people had gays, blacks. People didn't have the rights you have now. Look at the progress we've made. It's like in one lifetime, it's like magic. It's amazing. It's literally like magic. And no other society. I spent half my life in Germany. It's a very interesting, very developed society. You do not have the integration, you do not have the innovation, you do not have the fairness, you don't have meritocracy.

46:02Most of the companies in Germany that are big are owned by families that owned them 50, 100 years earlier. This is one country that produces this. Part of the problem and part of the reason why people don't stand up for America is they don't understand how magical it is to get these things to work. And no other place does it at our scale. Man, I love that, and we need more of that. I should correct myself, that wasn't from this weekend on Real Time, it was from a couple months ago, but I saw it over the weekend and I was like, that's what we should end the show on, because we better start realizing how magical this thing is.

46:33Like, we are being attacked every which way right now. And even yesterday, I saw some people on the right going after Trump or on the Iran deal, and I was like, you know what? I'm just not gonna do it right now. Like, I don't know how great it will turn out, I don't. I don't know if we're gonna get all the things we wanted or what will happen post-Trump or anything else. but like we need all of us that love this thing, that realize how freaking magical it is. As Karp said right there, we better find ourselves on the same side. We better let go of some of this stuff and we better realize how special it is or we will give it away and we will only be four months from now from giving it away and that would be a problem.

47:10Ladies and gentlemen, I have completed a show with my arm on this thing. It's like calcified right now. I'm gonna try to move it. Where are you? Oh, okay, okay, okay, okay. Oh, oh, that's not good. You can't quite see it here, but there's a big S. It's just disconnected there. I was gonna put two googly eyes on it. We should have done that. And it could have been, you're a Democrat, you son of a bitch, like the Sinbad. All right, we'll do a quick post-game show, but I thank you guys for watching. Hopefully I'll keep healing up and we can get back to this in a little bit, Thanks for watching everybody.
