In short

Dave Rubin argues the Democratic Party is being taken over by far-left “democratic socialists” who are increasingly openly communist, using New York’s elections and rent-freeze plans as evidence. He claims this radicalization will force broader political backlash and possibly push voters to “wake up” and vote, while warning that social media and ideology can make people stop distinguishing fact from fiction.

Guests (mentioned)

Bill Maher (interview clip guest on Real Time); J.D. Vance (VP, interview subject); David Jenkins (DSA leader, video clip); John Fetterman (Democrat, red-carpet remarks); Chuck Schumer (discussed via CNN clip); AOC (quoted); Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez; Stephen A. Smith (quoted); Tim Kaine, Cory Booker, Josh Shapiro, Gavin Newsom (discussed via clips); Dave Portnoy (Barstool Sports, quoted).

Key claims

Democrats are “bananas/communist,” liberals failed to “guard the door,” incumbents are losing due to radical challengers, and low turnout lets radicals win.

Notable examples

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s rent freeze; DSA leader David Jenkins saying “goal is communism”; prediction-market claim of 66% chance Dem incumbents lose primaries; Chevalier winning with ~35,000 votes out of ~775,000 eligible.

0:43And the bathroom had a soda machine in it I'm sorry, princess

1:12All right, guys, how you doing? I'm Dave Rubin. This is The Rubin Report. It's June 30th, 2026. Before I do anything, happy birthday, mom. And your presence is that I will not tell everyone how old you are. I know you're big on that. Nobody will know you're a little older than me. And that's all. Happy birthday, mom. Love ya. Something's coming a little later today. Stay home. Something might have run out of the door. That's all I'm saying. Okay, that's one thing. We have so much to do. Secondly, a lot of people are asking. The shoulder, although the bump is still there and I'm supposed to be wearing the sling, I'm a little better suddenly.

1:47Little better suddenly over the weekend, over the big birthday weekend, something's happening here and I am getting stem cells tomorrow. and like we did with my knee about a year and a half ago, Joey's gonna come with me. We're gonna shoot a little mini documentary around it because it's cutting edge stuff. And I'm really looking forward to getting this thing right so that I can go off the grid in August in proper physical shape. And if you did not, you know, we called open there with Michael Malice from yesterday. And if you didn't see it, it was a great sit down. And the reason I was not live in studio yesterday was because on Sunday night, I was at the Kennedy Center, which gave Bill Maher, my buddy Bill Maher, the award.

2:28It's the Mark Twain Prize for American Comedy. I think we got a couple pictures there. Yeah, there's me with Dr. Drew. Oh, and before we show you the picture of Bill Maher, Connor said to me, who is that other fella that you're standing with there? I don't know who that is. That guy, his name, I was so excited to meet him, and none of you have heard of him, but his name is Jim or Jimmy Vallalay. And he was one of the writers on the Golden Girls in season six and season seven. And he wrote some of my favorite episodes. And we had like one of the most enjoyable hour long conversations. I think he thought I was autistic with the amount of knowledge that I had.

3:05And a couple other pictures. I think I got one with, there's me and Bill together, which was great. He just, it was just so great to see him on it. It was so worthwhile. And of course, Stephen A. Smith, they're going to put it up on Netflix. The whole evening will be up on Netflix. I think in about a month. And it was just a great, you know, it was a little bit of a roast, but it was a celebration of a guy that, you know, at times has been hated by the left, at times has been hated by the right, but as I always talk about on this show, I think is trying to do something honorable and good. We're actually gonna play a couple of clips from before the event and something from real time in just a second because he had J.D.

3:39Vance on. And just real quick, it was my birthday weekend. I had a great, oh, and there's Fetterman. Fetterman showed up too. and we'll have a bit more on him in just a second. But it was my birthday weekend. Had a great, great weekend. And the guys surprised me. I can't show you the full thing, but they created this 20 minute video of some of our favorite people, some of my favorite people, just wishing me a happy birthday. And some of the people said, you know, private, very heartfelt things. And it was really great. So you're just getting to see a couple of people. There's Tony Robbins and there's David Zucker and obviously Larry Elder and there's Dennis Prager and Carolla and Dr.

4:11Drew and Jillian and Sage. Who else? and there's Bill, and it was just, it was a great, that was like as good a gift as you could possibly get. So anyway, I'm feeling good about life. I know I was a little ornery last week with my arm, but as it's getting better, I'm feeling a little bit better. So let's just dive right in. And to no surprise, we're gonna spend most of the show talking about how crazy the Democrats have gone and what we're gonna have to do about that. But I wanted to start with something from the red carpet on Sunday night at the Kennedy Center, because on Friday before that, JD Vance, VP, was on Real Time with Bill Maher.

4:46And it was, we're only gonna show you one clip of it today, but if you haven't seen it, it's really worth watching because it really was an excellent interview, sort of sitting there, agreeing to disagree on some stuff, poking appropriately, also having some fun, not being deranged. It was just quite good. And here is Bill on the red carpet being asked about about sort of how or if he should placate the crazies of the Dems and do more aggressive interviews with some of these people, something that I often have been criticized about over the years. So take a look. Did your view of J.D. Vance change at all after you did the interview with him?

5:27Did what? Your views and your opinion of J.D. Vance heading into the interview versus after. Mine didn't because I talk to these guys all the time. And when I say these guys, I mean politicians and Republicans and so I know they're always going to be like that they would never be happy unless JD Vance walked out and I punched him in the nose that's the only thing that would satisfy certain people I don't play that game I like to actually talk to people and then the Democrats just elected three very far left Democratic Socialists in New York who are crazy like outright really crazy. So like, how are they going to blow it?

6:08I don't know, but they seem to be well on their way. Okay. So we'll get to the crazy. And yes, that is the appropriate adjective, Bill. But let's talk about the first part first, which is, so in this sit down, he pokes and pushes JD a bunch, particularly on some more stuff. He then also says, boy, the Dems have gone so crazy. A guy like me could vote for you. But the overriding thing is something that I think maybe I modeled after Bill 10 years ago or 13 years ago when I started the show, which is that I just wanted to sit down with people that I sometimes agree with and sometimes disagree with.

6:40We have almost none of that left. And if we can figure out whatever is in common with say liberal Bill Maher and vice president, wow, I really can move the shoulder again, and vice president J.D. Vance under Trump, if they can agree that America is pretty good, capitalism is pretty good, yeah, we have differences on say abortion, maybe what ICE is doing, which they did get into, and a few other things. But like that the bulk, the 80 % is good, that's the thing that is going to stop the lefty crazies and to whatever extent there's crazies on the right. So now let me show you one clip Friday night, Bill with JD.

7:17Like if this is where the Democratic Party is going, where this democratic socialist, this obsession with Israel, with the Jew hating, with they don't believe in capitalism, no prisons. If this is where they're going, My vote is in play. Okay. I like to hear that. It actually always has been. Just every year. I don't make my decision by who was an R or a D. I actually always came to the conclusion that the Democrat was probably better. Sure. And voted for them. Okay. And Trump can't run again. And he'd be a little too exciting for me anyway. So it's either going to be you or... Now that's quite a statement for Bill to say, right?

7:55That's quite a statement. We don't even have to show you the J.D. answer. JD was like, yeah, I'd be happy to have your vote. And at the end there, he's saying it's either you or Rubio. Look, it could be somebody else. We don't know, two and a half years, it depends how the midterms go, all that stuff. But the point there is that I think Bill, in some sense, represents that. I'm always like your aunt, your aunt, the nominal liberal. In some sense, he still represents that person. And this is why I do think there is a silver lining around all of this. The wackier the Dems get, they are going to push everybody together.

8:28That in some sense is what the wide tent MAGA movement is all about. And remember, as bad as the results were out of New York last week, it was three races, almost nobody voted. In one of the races, it was like 750 ,000 people could have voted, I think in New York 13, am I right on that? And 66 ,000 people voted. So Chevalier won with 35 ,000 votes. Like that's crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy, right? So once those people, okay, they won in their own wackadoodle primaries where nobody voted, but when it gets to November and you have to run against what will hopefully be sane candidates who generally will be Republican, and I know that's tougher in New York, but the point is if you guys keep going that wackadoodle left way, maybe when it comes to general elections, not primaries where the crazier you are is better because that's how you get the base, then maybe things won't go off the rails here.

9:23But speaking of off the rails, Let's dive into a little bit more on what's going on with these, I suppose to some extent, they still call themselves democratic socialists, but as I always said, they were gonna drop the word Democrat, eventually they'll drop the word socialist, then they'll drop, then it'll be communist, then they'll drop that, they'll be full on Marxists, and then eventually it'll be jihadis. Here's one of the guys, believe it or not, this guy that we're about to show you a very quick video, he's one of the leaders of the Democrat socialist movement. His name is David Jenkins, and here he is explaining what the true goal is.

9:57I mean, our goal is liberation. Our goal is communism. Our goal is liberation. Our goal is communism. Fosse, fosse, fosse, all of these guys. You might go, wait a minute, that was just some guy on a webcam. Doesn't seem like he's the leader of anything, but he actually is. Look at this, and surprise, surprise, he's also a theater kid. Exclusive radical DSA honcho behind Mayor Zorhan Mondani's rise is a mime. from theater kid to mimes. Boy, you know, if all of them could be mimes and they would just shut up, what a pleasure that would be. But they all are here and now they are admitting it more.

10:34Remember, you go back, go back six, seven years ago when they started saying democratic socialism and it was Bernie first, I said they would drop it and now they are saying socialism more. They are admitting communism more and it is going to get worse. This is it now and the Democrat machine, which we'll get to in a little bit, It has no defense over this because the nominal Democrat, the Timu Obama, Hakeem Jeffries, or Cory Booker, or Chuck Schumer, they stand for nothing, right? All they stand for is we're not as completely bananas as those guys, and that's not how you gin up people to vote for you.

11:09So they are just effed beyond imagination. Now, of course, the one sane Democrat in politics is John Fetterman. I actually, throw the picture up again. I was sitting right below Fetterman at the thing. We have the picture there. I think you showed it before. We have it, we have it, we have it, we have it, we'll get to it after, it doesn't matter. Here is Fetterman on the red carpet at the Bill event at the Kennedy Center on Sunday, talking about these people. It was a really big night for the dirtbag left, you know, last week, without a doubt. And some of the crazy things that they've said, you know, like clearly anti-America, you know, anti-Western civilization, and actually one of them was even part of the groups they wanted to end all Western civilization.

11:57So overall, that's a wing of the party, without a doubt. But they're not Democrats, they're not socialists. Several, many of them actually are an avowed communist. So between P. Hustle in Maine and some of the other winners in New York, they should form their own party and run on all the things that they've had to delete on social media overall. And again, it will never cease to amaze me that that is the sanest guy in the party. We got the picture again. The reason I took the picture was I was trying to show people, and you just sort of miss it there, that he actually wore pants. You were supposed to wear a suit to it.

12:38He didn't wear a suit. Didn't get as fancy as that guy in the bow tie right there, but he did actually wear pants. But the interesting thing that he said there, of course, he's making the point. These are not Democrats. And in some sense, they're not even socialists because eventually they're gonna admit they're communists. And speaking of communism, we're not even covering it today. But over the weekend, Mamdami announced a total rent freeze in New York. So like it's a coming, okay? And that'll be before they start actually seizing property from some of these landlords. So that I think is already baked in.

13:07But what he said at the end there was, you know, they should create their own party. Now, unfortunately, I would say, Fetterman, the problem here is that it's too late. They realize, they've already infected the host, right? They got in to what I always call is that soft underbelly of liberalism. You guys were always like, and this is, I've become a little sanguine, let's say, that's the word of the day when I talk about this, because I wish that liberalism had better defenses against the crazies, but it has proven to not. So 10 years ago or so, when the Democrat socialists were coming in, they saw, they saw the liberals and they were like, well, they'll tolerate anything because they put tolerance at the top of their hierarchy of importance.

13:51So they will put intolerance up there. They will put everything up. They will allow anything to come in because they're tolerant of everything. And a good liberal should actually guard the door. It's why I always, I love that quote from Dennis, from Douglas Murray, that one day the barbarians will be at the gate and we'll be debating what gender pronouns to call them because that's what liberals will do. And you really need a conservative to guard the door. So unfortunately, Fetterman, you're right, they should have. Liberals and true Democrats, old blue dog Democrats, the moderate Democrat of 20 years ago, which Donald Trump was, you guys had to defend the party better, but you didn't.

14:29And now they've infected you and now you're on the outs with your own party and we'll see what that means for the rest of your career. Let's jump over to, what do I always call this guy? He's like the dorkiest dork in dorktown. This is Harry Hinton over on CNN. He loves that big screen with the numbers And here he is breaking down just the utter craziness that's happening in the Dem party right now. In terms of how many more incumbents might go, what are the prediction markets saying? Yeah, if you take a look at the Calci prediction market, we have already seen four incumbents, four House Democratic incumbents lose so far.

14:59How about the chance that six plus House Democratic incumbents lose their primaries in 2026? Look at this. According to Calci, a 66 percent chance, the highest in the 21st century before this year in a non-census year was just three. We're talking about a real chance it will double that previous record. How's he doing among Democrats in New York, his home state? Yeah, you think that this number is bad. What about here in his home state of New York? I tell you, these numbers scream primary challenge two years from now. Chuck Schumer's home state of New York, 47 % who view him favorably. This is part of a larger picture in which Democrats are turning against their leadership.

15:36They are specifically turning against Chuck Schumer. He is actually underwater nationally with Democrats. And even in his own home state of New York, the Empire State, he can't even reach 50 percent favorable rating with Democrats. All right. So there's a bunch of stuff there. So first off, the chance is 66 percent that the incumbents lose. Now, the incumbents are losing, right? Incumbents just lost all those races in New York. Now, the issue is that most of the incumbents across the Democrat Party right now, let's say, are not complete commie lunatics. However, the people that are running against them are.

16:09So the more of the incumbents, I'm not defending these nominal nothing Democrats, but the more of them that get taken out, the more radical that the party will become. That's one thing. And then on the Schumer side, it's so interesting. And this is, I think, why you must fight for truth, particularly if you are in politics where you're gonna be up for election every couple of years. You should always fight for truth no matter what you do. But if you're in politics, might I offer you a little bit of advice here. Chuck, you're not a commie America-hating jihadist Marxist lunatic. You're just a big government, deep state, nothing Democrat.

16:47So you've stood for nothing, right? You're Trump deranged, but you're not completely insane. The amount of people that will get ginned up to vote for you for that going forward, you're gonna lose the base entirely. And then I suppose there's some certain people that'll be like, I still have Trump derangement syndrome. I'm not a total communist jihadist. America's okay. I'll vote for Chuck Schumer. And that's what they would sound like when they were doing it. And that just simply doesn't work. So Chuck, you're on your way out. Timu Obama, you're on your way out. The only way that you guys will retain power, here's the, I'll give the white pill, and it's a white pill across the board.

17:28It's a white pill for America, it's a white pill for the Republican Party, white pill for the Democrat Party. is if the midterms, if the Republicans crush in the midterms, well, then the Democrats might finally say, boy, we have to get rid of these lunatics. Look what just happened to us. Then again, Trump is now unhinged for the next two and a half years. And what you'd get is a resurgence of a more decent Democrat party. You'd get a much stronger Republican party and you'd get Trump ready to roll for two years. That's literally what could save America from a political sense. But unfortunately, it does seem that the future, at least at the moment right now of the Democrat Party, is in Momdani's hands.

18:05Here is Stephen A. Smith on that. Let's be real about something here. You have a whole bunch of people in office that's scared to lose their seats, and you've got Democratic voters that are leaning towards voting for these people. And so as a result, they got to figure out a way to get those people back on their side. They're not going to vote Republican. They're going to vote Democrat. But if Momdani is running as Democrat, even though he's a Democratic socialist, and he's preaching about affordability, okay, and the working class, that's something that they want to hear because they're the ones that feel left out right now.

18:36And so that's what the message is, whether it's him or the people that he endorses. Remember, the people that Hakeem Jeffries endorsed lost to the people that Mamdani endorsed. So obviously, he's gaining traction. His profile, his cachet, his significance is growing, and nobody can ignore that. So as a result, how are you going to deal with that. That's just right, whether you like it or not. And again, I just want to reiterate this. In that district that Chevalier, the avowed communist won, 775 ,000 people were eligible to vote. And it was about, what was it? What was the number? It was about 70 plus thousand that voted.

19:15And she got a little over half of that. So something like 35 ,000 votes. So think how few people, about 10 % of people are voting and she got half of that. It's like 5 % of the people are now deciding the direction of the party. And this is where voting may be boring, you may not like doing it, maybe you wanna stay home and play PlayStation that day, but get out and vote because the crazies are organizing. You may hate what they're doing, but these DSA lunatics and all of their nonprofits and everything else, they are getting people to show up. So if radicals are the only ones who actually show up and everyone else is like, I'm not gonna vote, I'll hand it off to those 10 % of people, we will all go to the abyss together.

20:01Now, interestingly, New York, which is a freaking mess right now, right? Like the free buses and the free rents and the free healthcare and all these things, they're not really happening. Everyone knows that, that you got Hamas marches in the streets all the time. People are not gonna build new buildings because now you're freezing rents and then builders are like, oh, I'm just simply not going to be part of that. I like capitalism and competition. That's also how you get buildings to be built better and with more innovation and things of that nature. And you've pushed out all the billionaires because of the taxes.

20:31So what it is doing, it is perhaps, another silver lining today, it is perhaps instigating a new generation of people to come and take over New York post-bom-dommie, which it's hard to even think about that. But here's Barstool Sports. Dave Portnoy, again, nominal liberal in that he's just a normal person, right? Telling Jesse Waters, maybe he'll run in New York. Losing my mind on what's happening right now, especially in New York. I mean, you got the Nazi in Maine. This really, really, really worries me. So I'm not sure. You might run against Mondani. I would love to run against. If I was going to run, it would be here.

21:10Can I win here? I have no idea. I don't know the demographics, whether they get enough votes. There's a lot of people who like me in New York City. I know that. I've done a lot of good in New York City when I wasn't thinking about politics, whether it's the Barstool Fund, pizza places. So it wasn't for show. I've had a real job. I've done real things, unlike these clown politicians who have never had a job and never been in the real world for a day. Right. But the people voting for these people who just won are like these young, white, like, Ivy League-ish, elite-ish women. It's like, who are they?

21:48Like, they'll never vote for me. They'll never believe in common sense. When you're unhappy, you want to make other people unhappy. Well, you're right, Pornary. They'll never vote for you. But if the average New Yorker, what we think of as the stereotypical New Yorker from the 80s, if that person still exists, you fucking bring me my freaking bagel. If that guy still exists, maybe he would vote for you. Now, I'm not even saying Portnay's gonna vote, it's gonna run, it's too early for all of that. But it should offer, man, I'm really white-pilling today, it should offer a little hope for the future that every time things get bad, and trust me, it's gonna get worse in New York, and they're gonna scale this communism thing, and yes, there's gonna be some really bad things that happen with all of this, and especially because of the dash of jihad.

22:29Like, it's all real and it's bad, but there is something about humanity and the reason things get better over time, right? The world is better now than it was 50 years ago, and 50 years ago it was better than it was 100 years ago and we can do that. Is there something baked in about humanity that when it gets bad enough, eventually you wake up enough people to figure it out. Now the question I suppose for humans is do we always have to wait for rock bottom? Do we always have to wait for the Holocaust? Do we always have to wait for the communist destruction of New York City before we wake up? So it is good to see that some people are waking up and will fight back against some of this.

23:06Let's pause there, talk about Bub's Naturals for a little bit, and then we'll get to the other side. Code Ruben and you're all set when they ask how you heard about Bubz. Tell them Dave sent ya. All right, how crazy are these people? Well, AOC may not even be crazy enough for these people, but she's playing along with them for now. Here she is telling us that they have the people. I think that in any robust year for Democrats, I believe you're going to see an expansion of a party and a deepening of our commitment. And so I actually think that these results are a very good sign for November.

24:20They have money, but we've got people. And that's why our pitch needs to be focused on making the lives of everyday Americans better, because they're sure as hell going to be making the lives of billionaires better and better and better every year. All right. Sorry, I was trying to grab some numbers on there. They have the money, we have the people. First off, we know that most of the billionaire class actually ends up voting for the Democrats. And again, we have the people. Well, you're right to the extent that you have the crazy base that is ginned up and you are community organizing around them so they are voting, correct?

Read the full transcript

24:59Like you have that, but we need, but you don't really have the people if people would actually vote. So I think people are watching this. Tell other people that they should vote to stop the crazy people from taking over. And interestingly, when you talk about we have, they have the money, but we have the people, we checked. Kamala Harris had 83 billionaire supporters. Donald Trump had 52 billionaire supporters, according to Forbes. So you guys even have more billionaires, right? So come on now. Anyway, here's Mom Dami more on Democrat socialism. Can a democratic socialist get elected president?

25:40I think a democratic socialist can get elected anywhere across this country for any position. What I think we need to bring is a focus on working people. And that's the direction that the party should go in in terms of selecting a candidate for 2028. I think the direction that the party should go in is how best to fight for working people. And what these candidates offer is a vision that extends beyond the midterms, it extends beyond 2028. it speaks to what makes so many of us proud to be Democrats. It speaks to a vision that goes back to a New Deal understanding of what working people deserve.

26:10And I'll tell you that for too long, that kind of politics, you can only find it in history books. And we need to bring it back to the present day. All right, I actually don't feel like analyzing him from the Democratic Socialist point or Communist point at this point. I think we've illustrated that enough that I don't like those ideas and they're bad. I would rather for just a second the affect with him, this half whispering, and he's always smiling. smiling and he's nodding at you. It's all programmed, it's trained and programmed. They will, what did Ronald Reagan say? When the socialists come, they will come with a smile and that is what he is doing right now.

26:45It is fake, it is not real. Do you think when he ultimately gets what he wants that it will be good for everyone? Why does socialism end up coming with gulags? Why were there beheadings in the French Revolution? It's because eventually you gotta start taking people out because not everybody wants to be controlled by a top-down system. So it's not that they don't want a top-down. They would argue we have a top-down system right now and we want a bottom-up system. But once they have the power, how do you think it's gonna be for dissent? How do you think it's gonna be for free speech? How do you think it's gonna be for protest?

27:23They are using our freedoms against us with his fake smile and his But he is right. Again, a good devil is due. They are scaling. Here's another Democrat socialist who's, well, I would say confused about socialism. Denver is not New York, but Denver actually rates socialism higher than we rate capitalism by four points. And, you know, when I talk to voters about what we're doing and why I'm a Democratic socialist, I remind them that we have socialism already. Right. It's in the roads that we drive on. It's in the schools we send our kids to. it's in the fire stations we call upon. I'm just asking that we extend that security to our healthcare, to our housing, to our nutritional food, to our higher education so that we're actually meeting the basic needs of everyday working families in this country so that we're not just getting by and surviving, so that we're actually thriving.

28:14And in the wealthiest, most powerful country on earth, we're not asking for much. All right, as always, everything they say, if you're looking at it with like the most out of focus lens, it sort of looks right. And then when you turn that lens a little bit, like you have binoculars, you start realizing, oh, none of that makes sense, or it looks actually very different. Socialism, we don't have socialism because we have roads and schools. We are not just anarcho-capitalists here in America. We don't have no government. The founders wanted a slim and trim and limited government based in classically liberal think.

28:53That's what the founders set this up. So they didn't set up something that would have no use of the government. It's why I've always said, as much as I like libertarian ideas, I've never considered myself a full libertarian who wants to just scale back government altogether. Now maybe in the future, as automation and robots and AI, maybe there will be some other ways we can think about things. But for the 250 years we've had America, the founding was based upon get the government off your back. The government should basically provide certain things, including a border, by the way, but they're not big on that.

29:23the government should provide certain things, but not everything. So they want to extend, this is what she said, they want to extend that to healthcare, they want to extend that to this, that, the other thing, and eventually the government will control everything. And what she means by that is we will control everything. And not only do they want to control everything, right now as they don't control everything, they want to make sure that Donald Trump cannot control anything. For example, they want to defund and destroy ICE. Here is Michigan Senate candidate Abdul Al-Sayed, and he does not like ICE.

30:01And then there's the matter of ICE, an agency that really should not exist. Because I don't know about you all, but I could find...

30:14I could find a lot better uses for the$252 billion that we have spent to put masked men on our streets. ICE is not about immigration. ICE is not about the southern border. ICE is about normalizing paramilitary force on our streets. There is no reforming. There is no retraining. There is only abolishing ICE. Dude, go back to wherever you're from. like you don't wanna be an American actually. You're here to destroy America. It is obvious, we get it. ICE, let's pretend, he can think of a lot of better things that we could have done with that 252 billion to ICE. Now, I don't know if that's even right, 252 billion to ICE, but let's pretend it is.

30:56How about, you can think of other things. How about we, let's say it's true. How about we give that money back to the people you took it from in the first place? How about everyone watching this, get some of that money back if you don't want ICE, but you would never wanna do that. You just want to do it for whatever your pet projects are. And of course, it's not a paramilitary force on our streets. We are getting illegals out of our country. However, you guys want to flood the country with illegals and then make sure nobody has to show an ID to vote so that you will retain power forever. So you'll bring in people, get them on government programs, and then tell them, we'll keep those government programs going forever.

31:30And then they will vote for you forever and not even have to show an ID to do it. But of course, what they will do eventually is become tyrants. They will, you think these guys, again, like try to think of any of the progressives, literally pick a progressive, do the Rolodex in your head, think of any progressive. Do they really seem tolerant? Do they seem decent? How do you think they would govern when they're in power? So now I wanna show you a video. It was going viral over the weekend. I think they might have AI adjusted the video, but the video is of German Holocaust survivor, Hannah Arendt.

32:03and what she's most famous for is the phrase banality of evil. And basically she wrote a book, I think it was Eichmann, was it Eichmann and the banality of evil, I think was the exact title. The point being that it's not, we think of evil characters like they're Darth Vader and Skeletor and Megatron, like they're just like these evil things and they're cackling all the time and every day they wake up with the intention to be evil. But that's not what evil is. Evil is actually quite banal in many cases, that you can make sort of otherwise average people do horrible things. And I think that there is a version of that really bubbling up in what's happening with this Democrat socialist thing right now.

32:44So here is Hannah Arendt talking about tyrants and obedience. Now to the thing itself. And I want to be careful because it was genuinely new. Ordinary tyranny wants your obedience. It silences you. it frightens you, but it leaves your inner world more or less intact. You may think what you like, so long as you keep quiet. Total domination wants more than that. It wants the inside. It runs on two engines. Terror, which isolates every person until no one will act with anyone else. And an ideology, a single idea that claims to explain all of history, past and future with airtight logic so that no fact can ever contradict it.

33:35There's so much good stuff there. All right, we're going to show you one more clip of that. So I want you to think about what she said right there. So ordinary evil, ordinary evil. There's just evil out there. There's bad ideas and everything else. She says ordinary evil will just keep most people quiet, right? You know something bad is out there. You'll bury your head in the sand. You'll ignore it. Your hope is it'll just slide by or it'll pass you over or something like that. The total domination evil, and she obviously has a Holocaust survivor from Germany. This is where she feels the, this is where she really sort of put this idea set together.

34:10Well, there's endless terror, right? Well, we could have some endless terror. We have mass jihadis walking all over the streets in America right now, taking over cities and everything else and purposely wandering through Jewish neighborhoods. There's a certain amount of terror there. But a single idea explains everything. Now, this is the most interesting one because when I'm always talking about how the Democrats or the lefties, if you just look at them, basically there's like this veneer of decency and underneath you see something very nasty, right? Scratch a progressive and find an authoritarian.

34:43Well, what are they saying is the single explanation of everything? Well right now it's either capitalism or Zionism or Israel or ultimately it's America. That's the thing that you have to understand. Whenever they're going after Zionism or Israel, that's a placeholder for the West. They have decided the West is fundamentally evil. They will use violence and chaos when they need it. And then no one will be willing to step up against it. Here's a bit more on that by Hannah Arendt. And here is the most important sentence I can give you. The ideal subject of such a regime is not the fanatic, not the true believer who burns with conviction.

35:26It is the person for whom the difference between fact and fiction, between true and false, has simply stopped existing. The one who no longer trusts what they saw with their own eyes over what they have been told. Once enough people reach that state, anything becomes possible, because there is no longer any solid ground from which to say, that is a lie. You do not have to make people believe the lie. You only have to wear them down until they no longer believe anything at all. Exhaustion, not conviction, is the goal. Man, that is good. We are going to play that clip a lot. Put that in the we play it a lot file.

36:10You understand what she's saying there? The radicals, the radical lunatics, you don't have to focus on them. You've got them, right? The average purple hair queered for Palestine, holding a flag, confused about their genitals, blah. You've got them, don't worry about them. Who do you wanna get? You wanna get the nominal person. And in a weird way, you don't have to even convince the nominal person of anything. All you have to do is convince the nominal person that they don't even know what they believe in anymore. So think about that. She's talking about that from post-Holocaust. That's what she learned in the Holocaust, 70 plus years ago, more than that.

36:47It's almost 100 years ago now, right? 1930s, Germany. That's when she's talking about it. But now think about what she's talking about. They can't tell the difference between true or false. You got one of these in your pocket? Are you scrolling things all day long and the feeds are showing you all sorts of crazy stuff and you have agitators and liars and pundits who are just trying to get clicks and everything else trying to grind you down till, as she says, because you will believe them more than you will believe what's in front of your eyes. You know, a great example of this is the very fine people hoax.

37:22How many people, even when they saw, even years later, finally, when enough clips of Donald Trump saying, I'm not talking about the neo-Nazis or the white supremacists who should be condemned completely, they still didn't believe it. They still didn't believe it. And so think about what fertile ground that is for growing something completely insane and most likely authoritarian. If it's not the radicals, but the average base person has no idea what to believe in, think how easily you could manipulate them. And then again, apply that to what's going on with social media, the fact that we have an untrustworthy mainstream media and that we're all going in our different directions.

38:00I don't know what that does for the future. I genuinely don't. I'll try my best on the show every day, but we'll have to see where that works out. Guys, let's talk about Plod for just a second. You know, a lot of what I do comes down to conversations, interviews, show prep meetings. The problem is sometimes the best insights happen in the moment and later you're trying to remember exactly what was said. That's one of the reasons I've been using Plod. Look, that's Joseph's hand. He handed me the Plod device. You can clip this to your shirt. It's a small wearable that stays with you throughout the day so you can stay focused on conversation instead of just reaching for your phone.

38:33Afterward, Plod pulls together the key takeaways and important points so you're not relying on memory alone. Whether it's an interview, a meeting, or just an idea that you want to revisit later, It helps you keep track of what matters. If your work revolves around conversations and information, it's definitely worth checking out. Go to plaud.ai slash Rubin and use code Rubin for 20 % off. That's plaud, P-L-A-U-D dot A-I slash Rubin, code Rubin for 20 % off. And they got, they only got one of these. It'll stick on your phone. You throw it in your little pocket right there. Fancy, fancy. Okay, let's continue with the Democrat craziness.

39:05Here is Timu Obama. Again, a man who, I don't think he's a full-on commie jihadist. I do think he's a humanoid robot. and that will be exposed at some point in the next couple of years. But he's Chuck Schumer. He's a nominal nothing trying to protect a party that is on fire. Here he is asked by Wolf Blitzer, who I'm told is half wolf, half human, about the future of the Democrat Party. Are you confident, Leader Jeffries, that your vision with Mamdana, your visions for the Democratic Party going forward, do they align or do you worry that he could push out more of your own Democratic Party members?

39:46Well, it's important to remember that primaries are a way of life in the House of Representatives. We stand for election every two years. That wasn't the question. Yes, you stand for election. The question basically was, what do you think is going to happen here? But they're afraid of their shadow. This is Frankenstein's monster. Go watch Frankenstein. Read Frankenstein. This is what you people created this. You thought something decent was gonna happen or it was gonna get something good done. And then Frankenstein turned on you. I don't wanna tell you how it ends, okay? This is not, but it's not gonna end well for you guys.

40:19That's the thing. Here is Tim Kaine. Now you remember Tim Kaine? Tim Kaine, who almost was vice president. I mean, he was VP nominee under Hillary Clinton. He's Virginia Senator. He's just nothing. He's just like a nothing, nothing Democrat. Again, all they have, all they have are radical lunatics and nothing people. There's nobody else. If you, I would love, I genuinely mean it, if there was a good Democrat who could properly explain policy, explain why these guys are nuts, explain what competent governance would be, be willing to look into fraud and not just be looking into getting more money from people, be proudly for capitalism.

40:58Again, besides Fetterman, it would be great. But anyway, here is Tim Kaine, and he's asked about Trump warning that the socialists are taking over, and this isn't much of an answer. Senator, I want to ask you a little bit about what's happening here at home. There were three far-left candidates handpicked by New York City Mayor Mamdani, who won last week over more centrist candidates. Some are looking at that and saying the reach of the left wing of your party seems to be expanding. Do you have concerns that the progressive platform of some members of the party will make it more difficult to win in other parts of the country headed into November.

41:42Margaret, what the president said is just goofy word salad. I'm not an expert on New York House races. I am an expert on Senate races. And we have got Senate candidates all over this country working to flip red seats blue by focusing on the president's mismanagement of the American economy. Tim, no. Well, I agree that you're not an expert in local New York congressional races. You're an expert in Senate races. I don't know about that, but what Trump said was not gobbledygook or confusing or anything else. The party is becoming communist and you cannot stop it. And speaking of some of your, I don't know, Senate races, you're such an expert.

42:26How about the guy who is a socialist communist campaigning with Bernie, who also is a Nazi, also had a Nazi tattoo on his chest for 20 years. Is he an average Democrat? But they simply do not know what to do in the face of this thing. And this is the best example of it. So here's Cory Booker, a man who is married to a woman. I always wanna point that out, very important to mention because he's gonna run for president and you've got to marry a chick if you are running for president. Here he is implying that the fighting that's going on in the party is actually good for the party. Watch this. A lot of people right now are trying to paint the Democratic Party and insinuate division and differences before us.

43:09I'm one of these people that believes very clearly. If everybody in your coalition agrees with you on everything, then your coalition isn't big enough.

43:22You see, we as Democrats think diversity is a strength, not a weakness. We are folks that think diversity is one of those things that brings together a chorus of conviction and ideas that help to make us strong. He's just so nothing. All of these people, they are just nothing. Yeah, diversity of thought is good. So how about this, Corey? How about you give a speech today and you tell us 10 things that the Democrat socialists, the commies believe in, and 10 things that you differ with them on? You can tell me that, he doesn't say diversity of thought, he says diversity, and they love diversity of skin color more than anything else until it can be used to bludgeon, you know, basically the white people and the Jews and the Asians and the Indians, but okay, one thing at a time.

44:09But you don't really love diversity. You're saying you love diversity because right now the party's burning down, you're still in it, and you need to placate, you need to feed the crocodile. So I love diversity, I love all these people that have these crazy commie ideas. How about you defend old school liberalism, which is what the Democrat party used to be about. So don't tell me your forward, in essence, diversity of thought, diversity of ideas. How about get out there, Cory Booker, right now, today, and start explaining to people why capitalism is good. I dare you to do it. I dare you to talk about why capitalism is good.

44:44I dare you to talk about why borders are good. I dare you to talk about why ICE is good. But you won't do any of those things. You'll tell us you're all about these differences, but you will never show it to us. Don't tell us, brother, show us. Let's talk about balance of nature for a minute and then we will get to more. They just, well, we've got more of them and they all suck and blow. You've probably heard people talking about getting more nutrients in your diet, but actually doing it consistently, that's the hard part. That's where balance of nature makes things simple. You're getting real phytonutrients, the natural compounds found in fruit and vegetables that give them their color, taste and nutritional value without having to overhaul your entire routine.

45:23Their whole health system combines fruits, veggies, fiber, and spices into one easy daily habit made with real ingredients and no fillers or artificial junk. If you're looking for a simple way to support your nutrition without overthinking it, this is a great place to start. Go to balanceandnature.com today and get 10 % off when you use code Ruben. Okay, so let's keep going with this theme here. So the idea is commies, crazy radicals, taken over the party. Who's left and what can they do? Now, again, I don't think there's really anybody left. I think there's people who are faking it a tiny bit, but they do not know what to do.

45:58So here's Josh Shapiro. And of course, he's the governor of Pennsylvania. This is a man who quite literally did not get chosen by Kamala Harris. It's in her book because he was Jewish. That's number one. Also, a far left lunatic burned down his house during Passover. Remember that? And that That was a far lefty that did it, not a radical right wing supremacist or anything else. But here he is and it's listened to, he's asked by Dana Bash about what's going on with this far left people thing here. And he actually, he does try a little bit to put them in their place. Josh, it's not gonna work, but he does try a little bit.

46:35Democratic voters in New York chose three candidates backed by Zoram Mamdani, far left and democratic socialist candidates. What message do you take from that about where your party is? Well, you know, those were races in individual districts in a whole other state. I think you're seeing very different-looking congressional races and certainly different Democratic candidates here in Pennsylvania. I think what is important are the people who are making a lot of noise, who are engaging in these performative politics, have to now figure out how to deliver results. Except the problem, Josh, you are right.

47:16It's very specific races, I pointed that out. It's New York, very few people voted. But now they have to deliver, except they're going to deliver, to whatever extent they will deliver, is going to deliver on socialism and communism. What you should be is the same thing that Fetterman should be. You're a little more lefty than him. You strike me as a decent guy, like he really does. is it like you could go to dinner with the guy and be like, he's a decent guy. And unlike most Democrats, he might be willing to pick up the bill. He strikes me as a decent human being. You're just in the wrong party for decent human beings.

47:50But all right, so what you're gonna do, again, this is just feeding the crocodile, hoping the crocodile won't eat you. Instead of saying, you know, I'm not one of these people. I want nothing to do with them. I wish they weren't being part of the party. That would, I think, be the honorable thing to do. And I think that's actually what he believes. Instead, it's like, well, we'll give them a chance to govern and see what happens. How about a history book, man? When did communism or socialism ever work? Never, never. Here is Gavin Newsom. So Shapiro may run, may run. Seems like he's losing that sane sliver that he has, is losing the grip on the party.

48:27The other guy who obviously is gonna run, who's lived his whole life for it, is lizard person Gavin Newsom. And here he is, this is a rather interesting clip. he's suddenly talking about a national billionaire's tax and a new social contract. It's time for a national billionaire's tax and a new social contract. Think about this, just 10 % of people, 10 % of people in this country own two thirds of the wealth. A 30-year-old for the first time in American history is not doing better than his or her parents. That's a five alarm fire. American wages have stood still and the costs across the spectrum, cost of living, have skyrocketed.

49:09The system is fundamentally broken. The federal tax code, the corporate tax code, and the inheritance tax code seem to be written for a different set of Americans. It's time for an economic reset, a true minimum tax. Feeding the alligator. So suddenly, magically, he's taking all the positions of the socialists. So, okay, you want a national, what he said there was national billionaires tax. They're already trying to do it in some states. And what has happened in California? Well, you have pushed most of your billionaires out. What's happening in New York? You get it. And then again, it's not just that the billionaire leaves.

49:43The billionaire brings companies with him. He brings employees with him, most of whom were decent citizens. He sometimes brings his yacht with him. And a lot of people work on that yacht. And then they get jobs in places like Florida and everything else. Also, then he wants the estate tax to be looked at. Well, Gab's worth at least$30 million. And Gab, here's my challenge to you. I am going to guess that you have done every single thing possible when it comes to your estate via trust and everything else, not implying you've broken the law, but I'm going to guess that you have done everything legal.

50:15Maybe you've broken the law. I'm sure you've broken some laws, but I'm gonna guess you've done everything possible to make sure that your money is not gonna be taken by the government when you die in the estate tax, which is just a double taxation and really a death tax kicks in. So why'd you do that, Gab? And if I'm wrong about it, and I'll gladly retract that. But I'm gonna guess Gavin Newsom has all sorts of living trusts and a zillion other things to make sure the estate tax doesn't come in. So everything they say is a lie. Also, if you wanted, if this was just about, we need more of those people's money, then you might wanna look into fraud as opposed to just throwing money at things, but they never wanna look in fraud.

50:50And by the way, one more time with the billionaire's tax at the federal level, all right, you wanna go ahead and do that? Well, then you wouldn't have just pushed people out of Cali. They'll literally leave the country. They will find other countries to move to. And then all the people who create, stop being such a jealous bitch. I mean, I don't even believe you believe it. But now if you wanna see, this is such a great example of how Gavin stands for absolutely nothing. He went on this podcast with one of these loser progressive types and they get into packing the Supreme Court. And this is just, oh no, it's Gavin's podcast.

51:26It's Gavin's podcast, sorry, but he's with one of these progressive guys. And they get into it about packing the Supreme Court. And watch what a man who stands for nothing, watch what can happen in a 45-second clip. Yeah, look, you're getting me closer to your point of view. And you challenged me. I know we were talking, I was on your pod down in LA a few months ago. And this notion of 13 and then just looking at the district courts as that framework sort of anchor the old school, the ember of a traditional, you know. I mean, look, for a guy who recognized the urgency of the moment with Prop 50, and in fact, the only Democratic state to have successfully redrawn its maps ahead of 2026, that is what I think is the natural evolution for somebody like you.

52:15I'm with you. I'm done winning arguments. We got to win. And we got to consolidate power. Did you just see what happened there? He's being asked about packing the Supreme Court. He's kind of giving reasons why you shouldn't necessarily do it or maybe. And then just the guy just says something. It doesn't even matter. All right, and then just, well, God bless you. I'll change, all right, I'm not 100%. Just, oh, God bless you. You know what, pack the Supreme Court. I just decided I'm a communist. You are a shape-shifting lizard person who in a weird way is worse. You are worse than the radical. The radical lunatic actually believes the BS.

52:50You don't believe anything except your quest for power. Now this is good because the Democrats, as I keep pointing out, there's just no space for the sane person anymore. You may remember former Senator Joe Manchin from West Virginia, and he was a sane blue dog Democrat. And sometimes he voted with the Democrats and sometimes he voted with the Republicans, but he's not in politics anymore because the Democrats have lost their mind. Here he is analyzing what's happening with the party. Let me just tell you that 47 % of the people identify themselves as independents. They have to take, and all of you on your shows talk about independence because independence is where you win or lose elections.

53:35But 62 % of Democrats say they prefer socialism over capitalism? If they do, then by God, there's not a Democratic Party left. That's crazy. That is crazy. It's true. That is absolutely insane. It's not a Fox poll. If you want to ask me, well, that's another reason why I'm not registered as a Democrat. I can't put up with that crazy shit. That's nuts. And I've told him that. I like somebody dropping a curse on Fox every now and again. That's nice. But there he is. I mean, it seems like he's learning it in real time. But yeah, the party, it's ironic because he left the party, really. I don't think he considers, does he consider himself a Democrat anymore?

54:12He did officially, yeah, he's an independent. I mean, he officially left the party, but there he is getting more information and being like, yeah, you guys are just bananas. So I would say Joe Manchin, again, I don't know what differences you have with Trump, let's say, or with MAGA, but it's like, all right, you could fit into this thing the same way that Bobby Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard and many others did. Like, you can make that work. All right, we got one more segment for you for the big finish, but first, Rumble Wallet. How much control do you have over your money right now? 55:21All right, big finish, guys. Let's jump back to something that was, well, I'm going to show it to you for the first time, but it was referenced earlier in the show, Trump talking about the communist takeover of the Democrat Party. Are you worried about more socialist candidates across the United States? It's a big threat to our nation, actually, because it's not socialism, it's really communism. They use the word social democrat because it sounds so nice, but it's really communism you're talking about. I think it's the biggest threat to our nation. There is maybe since our founding. That includes World War I, World War II, September 11th.

55:56It includes the Pearl Harbor attack. I think this is the biggest threat to our nation. People will smile when I say that, but the smart people are going to say, you know, he's probably right. It's basically introducing communism into the United States of America. There's never been anything so dangerous. Thank you very much, everybody. Yeah, you know, he is right about that, at least broadly right about that, in that, as it stands right now, are you very worried as an American that we're going to be invaded? Do you think the Mexicans are going to invade us? Now they can flood the border, which he closed.

56:31Do you think the Canadians are going to invade us? Do you think the Chinese are going to start shooting ballistic missiles at us, and that's going to destroy the United States of America? We've done a hell of a job stopping Iran from getting nukes. External threats have largely been neutered in many ways. And conventional war, as I've mentioned many times lately, conventional war is wrapping up. There's gonna be a new AI, robotics, drone, blah, blah, blah. But I don't think most Americans are wandering around going, man, we're gonna be conquered. But how could we actually be destroyed? Well, all of the freedoms that we have could be used to turn against us so that we would become a country much closer to the country, the countries that our founders fled.

57:12I mean, in most cases, it was England, right? They fled England because they didn't want a king. Well, we could recreate a top-down situation here that would shred all of our founding documents. And we have a whole bunch of people that are now running that are saying they're gonna do it. They're saying they don't like the founding of the United States. They don't like the ideas that we were, that have created this unbelievable, magical place for 250 years. And we're just letting them do it in front of our faces. Now, of course, silver lining again is that the average person, when they finally wake up to this, they're not into it.

57:44And that's why we gotta get a really big fishnet and catch as many fish as we can right now. Here's Caroline Levitt on what's going on with the Dems. After his election, the president invited him in to have productive conversations about the future of our country. However, I know the president and many Americans are extremely concerned where, how far left the Democrat party is moving. You see these candidates, This is not your granddaddy's Democrat Party. These are communists. The president is right to call them that. They want to abolish private prisons. They want to abolish the police. They want to abolish private property.

58:15These are radical Marxist ideas that have never worked in the history of the world. All right. That is right. These ideas have not worked. We have to wake more people up to it. And again, Republicans right now from July 4th until I think it's November 3rd is the election. Common sense, pride in America, limited government, competency, look into fraud, stop crime, et cetera, et cetera. And that's how you'll bring in as many people as possible. There is some breaking news. I think the guys are gonna try to get it. Okay, so we'll finish the show and then we'll get to it. There is some breaking news about some Supreme Court decisions that are coming in right now.

58:55So we'll try to get to that in just a second. But here's our last clip of the day. My friend David Sachs from the All In Podcast. Here he is with quite good analysis on the socialists taking over the Democrat Party. And all I can say to these establishment Democrats is play stupid games, win stupid prizes. You supported this open border policy that brought in this wave of mass migration. That is a huge part of the base of this new DSA wing. Ma 'am Donnie would not have won the mayoral election in New York if it had just been native born New Yorkers voting. But now you've got these candidates like Chevalier openly declaring they're not just anti-American, they're post-American.

59:36They don't have any respect for the American system, our constitutional order, our free enterprise system. They want to introduce something in much different. And it's going to look a lot like the countries where these migrants are coming from. Yeah, that's right. And that's what they're going to do. And we handed them New York. And what did I say when he won? It wasn't that I thought New York City would crumble immediately, right? You can fake it for a while, but it was that the idea set would start scaling. Go back and watch the videos. And you're seeing it now. It's starting to scale across the country.

1:00:08And it is ultimately the thing that could, as David points out, end up making our country look much more like the country that all of these people fled in the first place. We'll obviously cover more on this tomorrow, but quite literally breaking in the last 15 minutes or so is some of the Supreme Court decisions are coming in. And this first one does not look good. and breaking the US Supreme Court has rejected President Trump's executive order, which aimed to end birthright citizenship. In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court struck down the executive order, which limited birthright citizenship for children whose parents are not US citizens or permanent legal residents.

1:00:43The majority, so Amy Coney Barrett, well, no, so the ones who voted against it, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett, they voted against birthright citizenship were the conservatives, Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, John Roberts, and then voting for it, Ketanji Brown-Jackson. They voted. Sorry. This is the majority. Oh. The majority is all six of these people. Okay. I was wondering what was going on there. Okay. Sorry, guys. We're getting this on the fly. The majority that voted for it, man, this is disappointing with Kavanaugh, but it's Amy Coney Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, John Roberts, Ketanji Brown-Jackson, Elena Kagan, and Sonia Sotomayor.

1:01:18And the dissent was Alito Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas. You know what'll be interesting? So we'll obviously have to get more on this. So in essence, birthright citizenship will remain. You could get on a plane when you're six months pregnant from China, you happen to give birth while you're on vacation here, congratulations, your kid's a citizen. I mean, it's completely absurd. But what I think you will see, mark my words, is that today you're not gonna have a whole bunch of conservatives and Republicans screaming, pack the court, destroy the court, the court doesn't have authority or anything else.

1:01:47You're gonna see people point out, this is why I disagree with the decision. And that's in stark contrast to when the Democrats when the Democrats win something, when it's pack the court, burn it down. You know, these people are corrupt. What is Bernie and Chuck and all these people? It's Trump's court. It's Trump's court. Trump has corrupted the Supreme Court. Well, he corrupted it so much they just voted against what Trump wanted. So it makes you think, all right, we'll obviously have more on that. Guys, thanks for watching. We got a post game show in 30 seconds, rubenreport.locals.com. Adios.
