0:39welcome back to the share lux podcast i'm your host i've got lucia and my head today how are we doing very well we were just talking about songs that just came back into our minds what was the one you were just talking about oh my gosh i was saying on saturday when i was getting close by Calvin Harris. I was transported to a new dimension. Like Henry came in and he started dancing as well. I was like, this is fucking awesome. I've got to say Calvin Harris just gets you there. I can have a good time pretty easily. Just a little bit of music. Literally, like, but if you, I like just was so, it's so nostalgic.
1:20It really is. Do we run through what we're wearing? Sure. There you go. I'm wearing, I literally just put these jeans on this morning, brand new, Abercrombie, white barrel egg. They're gorgeous. They're super comfy. And then my top is from Pretty Lavish. I've got the matching like satin trousers as well. And my trusty Masino sandals that don't leave my feet. They're very good. I've got a pair similar that is like the most actually I'm wearing them. The most minuscule little heel that they don't really count as a heel but they are. But you feel more appropriate don't you? I'm wearing Faithful the label and then I'm wearing little A.M.
1:53Marie sandals. I don't want to show anyone my feet. Don't need that. I'm genuinely really hiding my toes. We've been talking about nail etiquette and Sapna hasn't had a pedicure in what looks like four months. It's been a while and it's honestly one of my pet peeves and I don't know why I've done it. It's so bad. It's because my nail place is shut down anyway. I'm getting them done. There's more than one in London, you know. No, but like, you know, when it's not a nail house, I'm quite loyal to it. Well, don't be if they're shut down. Secret spa? Yeah, that's a good idea. I will do that. That dress really reminds me of you.
2:21Like every time, I've seen it on a few people now and it just reminds me of you. It reminds me of me as well. That's your signature dress. I love it. I'm wearing a set from Dish, which is kind of my like, when I don't know what to wear, go to. So nice. And then these little mini kitten heels from Free People, but they're Jeffrey Campbell. Oh yeah, yeah. Which is just like - I love Free People slang at the moment. I actually have quite a few Jeffrey Campbell shoes from Free People. They're really comfy. Yeah, they're good.
2:49Let's get into the things we're loving. I feel like we've all got a bit of TV what are you guys watching? Me no Me no TV I don't really watch TV I read because I'm smarter and superior than everyone I have just read along with everyone else in the world London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe I haven't read it but I've heard about it on the weekend after reading it I went and rode to the scene of the crime wait that's so funny It's actually very good. Yeah. We were talking about a brand who basically, their whole thing coming up is where people go to the locations or something to do with the locations of what's happening in the book and you read the book there.
3:31So you're like setting the scenes. That's so funny that you did that. Because I was like, we're in London, baby. We're going. Because me and my boyfriend finished at the same time. I said, let's do it. Because it ends a bit open-ended. You don't really know what's happened. And then we went down and we were like, we're going to scope out the scene for ourselves. We've come to our own hypothesis. Oh my God. We think we know what happened. Okay, I have no idea what this is about, but I won't make you recap it because I feel like we've talked about it probably in the last few pods. No, you know what happens.
3:58I genuinely have never heard of this book in my life. It's a true story. Basically, it starts with the ending. So there's no spoilers, if that makes sense. Okay. Yeah. I don't know. It's quite sensitive information, so perhaps I don't want to go into it on the podcast. But we investigated, and I think I know what happened. Okay. Okay, we'll talk about it off camera because I really want to know now. Anyway, I've been rotting my brain because I don't really read. I've read three books this year and they all happened on holiday. Okay. But that's so pretty. That's fine. That's a decent effort, yeah.
4:27But I will never now read another book probably for the rest of the year. That's fine. That's fine. You just lose the run. You're done. Anyways, I have watched Lucky. Have you seen that? No. It's Anna Taylor-Joy. Yep. It's basically a series about her and her spy sort of husband. And he fucks her over. And then what happens afterwards. It's very entertaining. It's not highbrow or anything, but it is good. But she is slightly highbrowed, though. I would say her acting is great. I mean, it's not lowbrow, but it's like nothing, you know, we're not going to dissect it as a TV series or whatever, but it's action-packed.
5:00She looks very glamorous. There's lots of twists and turns. It's a pretty good watch. Okay, and are you watching it with Callum? Yeah, we just finished it this weekend. Okay, so I'm going to do that with Henry then, because I'm always looking for a new show to watch with him. That's why I don't watch any TV, because we just go through two hours, and it's like, oh, fuck, we're not going to choose anything. Oh my god that's my like hobby on Assassin I'm like what should we watch? And then we just look and look and watch trailers And then we actually end up turning on what I want to watch And then I watch it for 10 minutes And then I get bored and I leave And then he's there watching like Miss Congeniality Well let me put you both on something You should watch what I don't think either of boyfriends or husbands Are going to want to watch But Sterling Point have you heard of it?
5:39No This is the new Samurai Tempority slash off campus slash whatever else. See, Callum will watch that because he liked Off Campus. No way. He watched it on his own. I will say it's not the same level. If there was a spectrum, it's more towards somewhere temporary because it's a little bit more teeny bopper. A little bit less sexy. But it's really good. So basically the premise of it is there is this girl whose grandfather, who she didn't really know, dies and he leaves her and her brother at this island. It's kind of like the Hamptons where you've got different islands and it's like not like not like a huge like deserted yeah it's a house on it like kind of more i know yeah and basically a mound of mud fiji it's yours just gives her the whole island anyway he dies he she's not really close with that side of the family her mom died when she was really young and it's i think they were adopted as well so it's the siblings and the dad they don't know the mom's side of the family anyway she in a kind of effort to get closer to to that side of the family and get to know, I guess, her mom.
6:44I think she died when they were really young, like maybe two or three years old. She then goes to this island to kind of investigate, to see it, whatever. When she gets there, she kind of goes into the house and there's this other girl there. And all she knows of her mom is like a photo of her or whatever. And the girl is the spitting image of the mom. Basically this isn't a spoiler because you find out very quickly. Sounds like a horror movie. It's not. I kind of like this. It doesn't sound teeny bopper. And then her moms are like, I'm scared. Basically, she finds out that the girl is also her mom's daughter.
7:13So that's her biological daughter. And they've been kept apart their entire lives. There's all this kind of stuff that happens there. And it's actually really sweet. They get to know each other a bit more. They sort of figure out what happens between the mom and the dad. And is there another person involved? Ooh, parent trap? Yeah, a little bit. A little bit. But it's just set in a really beautiful place. It's very much about sister friendships and dating and relationships. and obviously there's lots of romance and it's a really cute one. I wish it was a bit sexier because I feel like I'm really missing something after Off Campus.
7:44They're a bit younger, so actually. Dude, Off Campus to me, I put that show on and was just like, whoa, jump scare. What do you mean? What? It was really intense. Like Raunchy. It was like, he's like, so full. No, do you mean, do you mean Off Campus? Do you? Yes. It's not like Raunchy on the first episode. Yes, it is. It doesn't get Raunchy until like episode four. It's the guy. it's OD in you mean yeah in the locker room like taking his shirt off what you find that raunchy it was just his abs I was kind of like it doesn't really do it for me no I just sure I think he needs to get out of it more no but that's it oh gosh I could have definitely but I was watching with Henry because I was like god I'm gonna love this like I'm so excited it was too really yeah I'm not really into that stuff I think you're the only person on the planet I agree did you watch Heath to the Rivalry that's what I thought you were all about no no no no I don't think you should I don't think I won't I actually kind of turned Heath to the Rivalry for that reason that's a lot more they're having full on gay sex in the first episode right not trying to hear this heavy breathing the whole time I'm watching a TV program I just find it yeah a bit jarring okay well maybe this one will be more your vibe because it's a bit more vanilla so I like that it's a bit more of a nice storyline but this is like what everyone's saying is the next Samurai Temporary anyway I also have watched almost finished not got I think two episodes left Olivia Atwood's new Price Affection series three I haven't started that yet very good oh okay what's this one about so again it's just going into extreme treatments but every episode is a different one and I think there is a common theme actually throughout of this sort of world we're in where influencers or people with followings or celebrities are given free treatments all the time right and are advocating them and they just get more and more and more stuff done because it's free.
9:32They have to worry about the fact that it costs two and a half thousand pounds to get something done. And like what that's doing to society or whatever. But each episode focuses on a different treatment. And the one we watched yesterday was people adding height. Oh, don't. You know I know someone who did that. Really? Like not know them perfectly. It's all sorts. They lengthen your bone. They cut your leg off. Break it in half. Yeah. And extend the bone. With your actual bone. A lot of it happens illegally. A lot of it's happening in Turkey. And India. People fly to India to get it done. And then it is so easy for infection to occur.
10:08Yeah. I mean, that sounds like an infection. And then you lose your. Yeah. Your body rejecting things. Yeah. But they put, it's obviously a very long recovery time, but they, which is right. They break your leg and then they put some sort of device. I don't know what it is. Upside your leg. And every day you get an Allen key and you put it in the side of this metal contraction. And you turn it. One crank. You basically have become like an Ikea piece of furniture. It's insane. It actually gives me the heebie-jeebies. People manage to put this much on their height. It's actually incredible. I really do think that if anyone is in that bad of a place that they need to change their height, I think you need to direct them to a therapist first.
10:43You should do that first, yeah. I just don't think that's... I just don't think you should do it full stop. I think that is like... That's my duty of care gone wrong there if you're a medical professional. I'm not Christian. In the UK, the stance is that it should only be done for orthopedic reasons. that should never be done for, you know, cosmetic reasons. But that one, that really blew my mind a little bit. Did you get anything crazy done? Have you ever considered, if you thought in the future of this, I might consider. I don't think it's that crazy. I'd love to get MScoped because I hate working out.
11:10That's definitely not that crazy, but you should actually just go to the gym. My God. But I just can't do it. Does that actually work? I have no idea. Yeah, it contracts your muscles just like you would during a workout. But you have to keep doing it. It's like if you have to go to the gym four times a week, you have to do MScoped four times. Is it like face gym? I think it hurts though. It works for a bit and it stops. Yeah. So it's actually, you could literally be doing the equivalent of sitting up. Yeah. Because it feels the same. I'm really not going to get that done. I'm just going to get it.
11:33Yeah. Guys, I've actually been doing Reformer. Have you? Have you? Where'd you go? At the first place. Nice. You seem like you would do Reformer. That's such a compliment. Thank you so much. Because if you knew how just. How are you finding it? But you are, aren't you quite naturally athletic? No. No. I've been living under a rock. I'm being massive. But no, I'm not at all. So I'm trying to be. Good, well done. It's good for your mental health, isn't it? I've never saw myself as a little workout girl. Not that I am. That's really quite, I've gone like once. She's rebranded herself into a fitness person.
12:08Pilates princesses. No, I'm not. But I actually am glad that I finally found something that I enjoy doing. Yeah. I think I've just got to be consistent with it now. That's half of the getting there with working out. Like you have to find joy in it. I think if you're doing a fitness regime or a workout that you absolutely hate, you're never going to stick to it, are you? I actually started looking forward to it. How many days a week are you doing it? Like two, which is not much, but you've got to understand I am the most unfit person ever. No, I think that's really good to sapna. I really can't.
12:33So that's good for me. Yeah. Well, speaking of wellness and beauty, I've actually just started using, well, I've been using it for quite a few weeks now, actually, an SPF. I went away on holiday and I have struggled to find an SPF that doesn't break me out for my face. And I've been using Olay's Regenerys SPF 50+. Yes. So good. It's so good. I've heard so much about it because we've been working with them as well. And I feel like it's one of the only ones that uses peptides. I've not seen many on the market that do that. It does feel like you're putting skincare on your face, not just that last step because you don't want to, you know, get sun managed.
13:06But also, I find that so many sun creams can be a bit like tacky and like a bit sticky on the face. This one is so, like you wouldn't even know it's it. No, it's super lightweight. There's no like white cast. Have you got it under your makeup today? Yeah, let it dry a little bit, but then you put your makeup on top and it goes on really nicely. It's really unique because it's peptide powered. So it just makes your skin look firmer and brighter and just it's really good for anti-aging and just like the texture of your skin, which I don't feel like many have that. No, I have to say the reason why I wanted to find a new SPF that worked for me was because I was getting quite like bumpy textured skin when I use SPFs combined with makeup and skincare.
13:40So do I. And I think it's something to do with your skin barrier. Yeah. Like it almost destroying your skin barrier. Because I feel like this one really supports your skin barrier. Okay. It doesn't do that sort of stripping. And the bumpiness is when your skin bar has been damaged, basically. But does that. It goes on really nicely. Definitely makes you feel more plumper and dewier. And added benefit is that it's anti-aging. I love that. And it's hydrating as well, isn't it? Super hydrating. Yeah, it's lush. You can wear it on its own and feel very sort of like youthful. It's lovely. You might not be interested in anti-aging just yet, girls.
14:13But you've got to start early. I'm interested. Okay. Because I also feel like I really know the benefits. or like in Australia, you're scared the living Jesus out of because the sun is the enemy. So like every day you're told like you have to put SPF on. I wish they were like that in the UK. I think now we are more educated about it and people are, you are told that, especially if you're someone that goes, have ever had a skin consultancy from somewhere. That is the first thing they say. But I put it on every day. It's one of the best habits you can have. Remember when we used to go out to PE, they like force you to put it on or they'll have it like as you walk out the like changing room.
14:48They'll be like, no. But you didn't go to an English school? No, I mean, yeah. Yeah, exactly. Because that doesn't happen in the UK. And I feel like it should. Yeah. We still have a son. Yeah, I know. Well, that's the number one thing, like, especially from Alex Steiner. She says this to me all the time, but her number one piece of, like, skin anti-aging advice is to wear SPF consistently from a young age. It makes the biggest difference to your skin.
15:11Let's move on to fashion finds. What are you guys loving right now? What are you shopping? I am obsessed with satin pouches at the moment I feel like everyone on our team is like really loving them I found this brand actually through the influencer Lily Sisto she's just done a European packing list with us and it's this brand called Pochette NYC yeah I have heard of that yeah so gorge and it comes the my favorite one comes in like this apple green color and it's like the bottom of it then has this little tassel detail which I just think is so nice for summer and then Coco oh my god yeah Coco who works on our team she found like Mango literally has a very similar iteration like quite like a very similar shape and it's in this butter yellow colorway and it's got a bit more structure to it so it's like holds that circular shape and it's got the tassel as well.
16:08And she got it today and it looks incredible. It looks so, it actually, I hate to say it, maybe even looks better than the original. I feel like that's such a good, because I was saying this to Lou the other day, like it's really hard to know what to wear in the evenings on holiday. Because you have like your clutch bag, like evening bags that I just feel like all of mine feel very wintery. Yeah, or like too dressy. Yeah, exactly. But then like the silk kind of pouchy ones. It's nice. But that just like goes with everything as well and it's quite roomy. and it was nice because I was like okay because I feel like high street sometimes can be a bit hit on me as so the quality it came and it looks so much better in real life nice yeah so you're ordering I will be ordering very nice I'm very happy that we're still in summer me too very happy everyone's kind of trying to wish it away everyone's in such a dick about it let's let it be hot I love it we're gonna be crying about it in a few months we're freezing and it's raining it's disgusting that's the thing I've learned about British people they can never be happy with the weather we just wait for the next season yeah we do like turn of a season that's quite a thing in yeah that's fair anyway not that i'm wishing the summer away but i'm not really shopping for super summery stuff now because probably we do only have a month of it there yeah max so and obviously all the shops are now new in autumn winter i have seen some things that i do want to buy already but it's definitely too hot to wear asos have got which actually i think is quite it's kind of just a evolution of this summer's trend of the mandarin jacket they've got a bomber version it's cream it's really nice and oversized the top shot it's top shot yeah i've seen it really nice so one that probably can only wear it if we get under 25 degrees there's gonna be that nice little transitional period yeah it's like perfect second i bought these again in the summer mass made you did these trousers with a really cool detail they're cream but the tie around the bottom have you seen those yeah they've just brought them out in two other material types.
18:04One you can definitely still wear now, which is a bit of like a tie dye, cream and brown material, silky. But the second is they've done them in a suede. Oh. But those look amazing. I kind of love in that transitional period that like suede with like summer fabrics. Yes. Like a silky something lacy and then like a suede. Yeah, like a short even, yeah. Yeah, see I'm not wishing it away, but now I've seen stuff new and I'm like, ooh, I do want to buy. I could shop now I do find it much easier to dress in autumn and winter oh see I'm such a summer dresser I quite like summer too I love summer dressing on the weekend I find it quite hard for work because I want to be like naked and I can't come to work yeah it's hard to know the appropriate we're very lucky that we don't really have a dress yeah if I watch the corporate office we blow that line pretty like what do you actually think to a corporate office if there's anyone watching who wants to look fashion forward what would you be wearing?
18:58a beautiful tailored trouser yeah yeah or and a nice there have been a lot of really nice silk skirts that are long enough to wear oh yeah i think this year yeah but we are lucky that we don't have to thank god have you guys seen zara's latest drop yes it's all sold out i know it is and i'm really annoyed because i didn't buy anything but it's really giving drew's van noten yeah it's very good kind of the prints and the textures and i really love that like clashing prints kind of vibe which they've styled it really well i will say they give really good inspo when they style yeah they do they have massively I often shop the whole model now.
19:30Yeah, see. I found myself doing that a bit more recently. I do it a lot. But yeah, sadly, all those drops go very quickly, so if you still want to make sure you make it, There was a blue shirt in that collection, it was cream and blue, and then it had sort of like scarf detail attached to it, so nice. It's really cool. I think it works quite well for now, but then actually, like we were saying, you can mix it with like swathes and leathers. Yeah, definitely. I am a big fan of chunky jewelry, and I have looked, I get really sucked into like you know Liberty's jewelry haul or selvedge's whatever but so much of it is ridiculously expensive and I can't really justify spending thousands of pounds on things but I'm not wearing anything by her but I've just found on Instagram and I think I'd like to buy Laura Van Jewelry makes very chunky like art deco rings and they're not cheap but they're like 200 250 pounds that's which is good I think for good for that kind of style yeah and it's gorgeous so I think I want to invest in an ice ring from her.
20:26It's really cool. It almost looks like engagement jewelry, you know? Oh, like quite diamond-y. Yeah, very diamond-y. I've heard of it. It's really nice. Yeah, okay. I found a Greek brand called Studio 83. That's really giving me a mixture of like all the resort brands that we love at the moment. Like a Dish, like a Rambo, like whatever. But just like, I've not seen it anywhere else. Which I quite like that there's one out there that's not on everyone at the moment. It's different, yeah. And it's got like a bit of zebra, a bit of sequin, a bit of whatever. Like quite Ibiza, like going out. Love that.
20:53summer style. So yeah, big fan of that. I'm going away in two weeks. What are you doing? And I'm thinking to Kefalonia. Oh, nice. And I was like, I'm just going to buy some stuff. Yeah, of course. Still going to do it. Crazy. Do you not think about that every holiday? No, because I didn't do it when I went to Corsica. You don't buy new clothes for your holiday? I didn't. That's very well behaved. Well done. I spend like two weeks outfit planning in my head. I have all my summer wardrobe because in Australia, you just wear summer clothes. So I think it was more everything felt new to me because I hadn't been able to wear it for so long.
21:24So when I came into summer, I was like, I don't really need anything. But now I'm like, okay, I want to buy. I'm terrible. I spend so much money when I go on a trip. I don't know why I do it. Cause like I've got stuff. It just brings me joy. And I actually never wear them again. Isn't that so bad? Do you sell stuff? I do sell some things. Yeah. Like a backlog. Yeah. Well, I keep, I do keep quite a lot of it. And it goes under my bed for next year. Then it comes to it. And I do pack a few bits, but then I'm like, I don't want to wear it. I know. I've got the pick. Yeah, see I'm not really like that You're quite good at re-wearing And I actually have really tried to streamline my wardrobe recently I hate having too many things And things that I don't wear I also only pack carry-on when I'm going away Unless I'm going for like two weeks But I'll pack carry-on Seven day holiday I don't know how you do that To Corsica I was there for nine days I'm going to Marrakesh next week for a week I will take a huge suitcase Yeah, and I always go over the allowance yeah just i can do it how i just don't quite i'm quite good at good packer yeah just like don't wear very much i'll kind of plan out different things obvious like so we went like i went away with my family last year to greece and i was like i know that we're all like all of them are bringing bags so i'll bring yeah harry like what is it check in yeah and that was fine but when i'm going with henry and we're traveling around a bit i'm kind of like i don't I don't want to be looking around.
22:46I do get that. If I'm the only one that's waiting at the baggage claim, I'm like, I don't want to be doing that. I just want to be out. I feel like if I'm going somewhere where I'm going to stay at that one hotel for like a couple of days or a whole week, whatever, I'm not really going to go anywhere else. There's nothing really to dress up for. I'm just by the pool and chilling and reading and whatever. I'm probably not going to bring that much. But if I'm going with friends or I know I'm going somewhere where you might go into town and you might do that, then I want to dress up and look cute.
23:10God, I just always do. Regardless. It brings me joy. Yeah, exactly. I love it. So that's also why I don't buy that much more because I'm like, I'm not going to be bringing five different handbags. I've got one.
23:25Let's move on to the celebrity segment. I feel like there's a lot going on. I just took up this entire section. Yeah, I was going to say Sapna wrote all the notes for this. Take it away, Sapna. There's so much going to be cool. And then I was sort of filling mine in and it's like Sapna has literally done everything ever. Guys, this is my time to shine, I'd say. But we were talking about this when we were making coffee earlier only she doesn't know who cat's eye is vaguely yeah i do know but i they dance yeah i don't know enough information like you wrote as in like oh my god i don't care yeah i'm then expecting lots of people listening to also not know but cat's eye are a big girl group that were created on a tv show on netflix basically there was this big tv show they created like the ultimate girl group and they use sort of like k-pop trainers to make them like the ultimate but it was about creating a K-pop group specifically?
24:13No, because they're not, they're all from all over the world. Oh, but I thought... There's Americans, there's an Indian girl, there's a, like, there's from everywhere. But they were trained with K-pop training, dance, music, like. Oh, wow. And the company that owns them is a K-pop, like, production company, like, Universal. And the music they produce is very of that ilk. Yeah, it is very. So, yeah. What's the song? I was going to tell you. Actually, I do know a couple. Hands off, Gabriela. Because it's all over TikTok as well. Yeah, they're very TikTok famous. Their dancers go viral. like they are huge okay and basically one of the main members well they're all main they're all the thing is they're all like main characters which is what they've kind of built them up to be nice one of the members basically left slash went on a hiatus and never came back always happens always happens that's why you don't enter a girl group for anyone but that was like a really big deal and now another one has just been announced to be going on a hiatus so everyone's basically saying like what are they doing to these girls like why are they so a like working so hard and sort of like because they're put in this like camp of like they're constantly training they're constantly doing press appearances constantly on stage like it's just too much and there's sort of like this thing online of like what is going on behind the scenes that is making these girls like leave and have to go on like health whatever and it's just it's just really toxic and there's this whole conversation about sort of like are we putting people too much on not a pedestal but like in front of camera like yeah back in the day like Beyonce obviously she's everyone you know everything about her but she's not giving us every inch of her whereas pop stars these days you almost are expected to know everything about them yeah the more they give give give the more we take and it's a really weird kind of balance of that I don't know what you guys think about but yeah I mean I think pop stars have always been being taken advanced in particular groups of people like there's a whole reason why they all disperse and leave after five years of success but they're very recent which is why it's yeah but I feel like it would be really hard growing up as an individual having your own ideas about things and probably dreams as well to become a pop star and then being morphed into this one like we don't really do you know any of the individual names like they just become cat's eye and I feel that would have a huge impact on the way that you then form your identity moving forward because you're going from an individual mindset to then being forced into this group yeah and i guess in ways like many ways you're being taught to act a bit like a a puppet yeah 100 especially i think the sort of k-pop world is very much like that that they're told to kind of be a certain way and come across a certain way because it's so online yeah it might be pretty tiring yeah i also think it's very easy to because a lot of people i think the backlash they get backlash like chapel rome was a bit like this it's like okay you are now famous all you wanted was to be a famous singer and then people were like well you knew what you were getting yourself into your own fault it's easy to get to that destination and not like having never experienced that before then be a bit like oh okay fame is so different to what i expected yeah this is a side that i don't want anymore but once you've reached that level you can't really take it away yeah i can imagine having an existential crisis it like obviously i don't know this girl group but like if i got into that having launched that far ahead yeah into the stratosphere of just like public opinion yeah and then being like i don't no no i need to go yeah but i think it's so hard to get to that level without kind of bearing your soul though isn't it especially now like make the fans obsess unless you give them everything and i think that almost actors have like a benefit there that they didn't have to do that.
27:54Like an A-lister actor can kind of show up, do a bit of a press tour and then fuck off for like five years and you don't hear about them for ages and they'll still be as relevant when they come back. Whereas I feel like with music, it's so much more cyclical. You have to constantly, like Taylor Swift talks about the whole time just to constantly reinvent herself, do something different, always, always doing something crazy. And I don't know what that like. Perhaps because as a pop star, you're creating, you're building a world. Yeah. Like you're building the fandom. whereas maybe as an actor because you're tapping into something a bit more visual and you're playing a character you don't need to create that world around you because it's already been fictionalized.
28:31Yeah, and that just lives in your 90 minute film whereas this lives on your social media platforms and your everyday lives. Like, yeah, 100 % agree with that. But I almost do feel like some people you fan over them more when they're a bit more mysterious because you're almost like, I want to know more. So every little thing they do even if it's not very often you're like, Justin Bieber. Justin Bieber, also Tom and Zendaya. Like, they're like, their relationship is so low key. I mean, now we see like bits and bobs, but then like every little handhold. She would literally be treated like a pop star maybe in terms of the infatuation with her and interest and I guess with her outfits and everything.
29:07And now her relationship and all these things. But then she's not someone like a cat star or like a pop star who has to constantly post, has to create her content constantly and be on all the time. and she can disappear and no one's gonna say anything. But speaking of Tom and Zendaya, have you heard about the last two weekends in the box office, how much money it's made? No. Between Spider-Man and Odyssey. Between Spider-Man and the Odyssey, I'll tell you exactly how much, 430 million over the last two weekends. It's the biggest opening weekend. And apparently they had their wedding last week.

29:35Yes, apparently at Beaverbrook. No. I don't know what Beaverbrook is. It was at Beaverbrook. It was. But I don't know what that is. It's like a big hotel in like, is it the Cotswolds? I don't know. No, I don't think it is the Coxwells. I think it's closer to London. Yeah, it's close to London. And there's a restaurant in Chelsea that's called Beaver Road that's attached to it. But what I was going to say was Q4 is going to be very big for movies. But my question was going to be... Why? What's coming out in Q4? I'll tell you. I'll tell you. I need a new movie. I feel like I haven't... I have not bothered to watch Odyssey and I'm not sure I will.
30:06So you've got Avengers Doomsday. You've got Dune Part 3. You've got the new Harry Potter series coming on Christmas Day. That's pretty cool. Cannot wait for that. Hunger Games. I don't know if I want to watch that because I don't want to taint my... I think it'll be very different. Yeah. They'll be delving into it deeper because I do think the books versus the films, like they only scratch the surface in the films even though I absolutely love them. I think that's because it's a TV show, they'll go a lot deeper. Okay. I'm excited for that. Yeah. But my question was going to be, what do you actually go to the cinema for?
30:31Because I feel like this half of the year has, there've been a lot of really strong films. And like I said, like people have been going to the cinema. So what do you actually go for? I get a little bit sucked into the hyper things. So like Barbie for me was a big one. Yeah. Yeah, I like a 90 minute. When I see a 90 minute, I go, bang. Yeah. We're seeing that one. I actually do, I think it's easier to get into cinema at the second half of the year slash the first remote. So I was actually going to say, the thing that's getting me to the cinema is that there's nothing else to do. Yeah, exactly. So I'm not going in summer.
31:02No. Actually, but I did go for the Odyssey. But I'm not really being like on a Sunday, let's go watch Sitting in Dark Roman and watch a film. But can you settle this? The Odyssey, would you have seen it if you didn't know any of the actors? because this is Charlotte's point. She was saying to me that it was pretty distracting having all of those huge A-listers, which I do agree with, but I don't think I would have made the effort to see it if it wasn't Christopher Nolan directing it and if it wasn't every A-lister. Like, I don't think I would care to watch that. Oh, if it wasn't Christopher Nolan, no.
31:28Okay, maybe if it was Christopher Nolan. Maybe if we just had Matt Damon, I would have like watched, I don't need to know every actor. No, same. That isn't a big thing for me. No, but to go to the cinema. No, I think it just has to be the right kind of film for me. Yeah, I don't think, I actually don't think the actors play a big part as to why I go and watch a movie. But I do think that there needs to be a certain level of hype around it. And I guess you do generate that from the actors. But I think you can also generate it from not having famous actors. From having just a really good premise.
32:00Mine is just seasonal. I love going in the winter, getting cosy.
32:10Let's move on to hot topic. I feel like we've all got something today. There was a creator called Chad Oy Official and he posted a carousel. The hook of the carousel was, you're not bored, your life just doesn't have enough side quests. Oh, yes. And I was like, okay, I'm intrigued. It's basically this whole carousel of 40 things you should do in August to make your life have more side quests. Have you got the 40 things? I have. This is so funny because my hot topic is potentially going to be the opposite of this. Oh. Really? Yeah. Okay, let me read you some of them. because I really agree with this sometimes I'm like oh I'm just a bit bored but like I'm like I like my life I love my job I like everything I'm doing I'm like I'm just not doing anything else like yeah I need I don't have hobbies and I don't have things so they said and also not all of these are big huge things some are quite like achievable so one of them is wake up before sunrise and sit in the quiet for 30 minutes cook a full meal from a cuisine you've never tried before literally not doing that this this sounds like my worst nightmare but walk somewhere with no you would definitely do this walk somewhere with no destination and no headphones but i i walk to work for an hour and i don't put headphones in you have a destination eat one meal every day this week with no screen just the food i like that do you like that these aren't side quests to me no but these are basically they're basically giving you small achievable side yeah that make you feel quite bored it makes you a have your brain work a bit harder see something new do something you wouldn't usually do that doesn't rely on your phone because i think the whole point is that a lot of the time when you're bored you're just doomed and I do that yeah so much I I do agree with that and I do agree with the sentence that you're not bored you just need a side quest because I feel like people need more things to be focused on in their life than maybe just going to work waking up and being with your partner and being so I had this revelation like this time last year before I moved to London and I was like I read the creative act by Rick Rubin and it kind of goes into that a bit more deeply and it's less about side quests and more about creativity and how we can often lose that just in like monotonous routine and so it's like a few of the things that he suggested was to like even if you're walking to work take just a different route yeah just do things that are slightly out of the norm yeah exactly and there were other things that obviously because it's like really about creativity it's like about writing painting like even if you don't know how to paint if you're trying to come to an idea for something there are different ways for you to harness that so different mediums that you can if we're trying to think of we're brainstorming for fashion in september he was like you could even start painting even though that's a completely different medium because you're letting your brain it's using a different part yeah to achieve And often you will come to a conclusion and you will be able to think outside the box and pushing yourself to try new things and to be afraid.
35:04Like I wouldn't go sit in a restaurant alone, not because I can't do it. Like if no one was there, I would happily do that. I love eating by myself. For me, I feel things that hold me back is the thought that other people would be watching me and like judging me thinking, oh, that's weird. But that's the thing. So I'd just be sitting there thinking, oh, she thinks I'm weird. But I actually reckon that's good. Yeah. It's a good reminder. This is what my husband was. I used to think this was linked with like the fear of turning 30 or like needing to achieve a certain amount by 30. Like I don't know why that figure just is daunting, but I think it's that tipping over into being a proper adult.
35:45Yeah. And needing success. Yeah. And I was thinking about it and I was like, okay, sometimes I get home from work and I'm like oh I need to be making five TikToks a week I need to be linking on LTK I need to be writing on my sub stack more I need to be doing x y and z and I was like this is crazy to me because this time last year my goal was to move to London and to go get a great job specifically to work here now I have both those things feel very happy and grateful and like I love my life but I still have this overwhelming sense of almost like it's not even comparison but it's this weird niggling feeling that I need to be doing more it's always the next thing yeah like what can you achieve okay now I've done that you can't even rest in that you've got to just get like success is not a destination for me I'll never reach that like always the goalpost will always be moving in our job it is that social media is quite a good it complements our job quite well and so I'm like oh should I be doing an outfit of the day before I go to work I really enjoy just sitting and reading yeah or exercising yeah if it doesn't bring you joy don't do it yeah but I'm coming home every day being like I need to be doing more and then I was like am I just fine being a bit mediocre yeah but that well that's the thing is that I do think yeah it's forced on us via not even forced but like by social media you feel like you should always be doing yes always whatever and sometimes it is just nice to a enjoy what you do have because you're wishing for a year yeah 100 and be just like be in the moment i'm telling this to myself because i don't do this yeah like to celebrate the present is really good because otherwise you're just constantly like missing all the good things that are happening to you just thinking about the next yeah it's very easy to do that yeah
37:37okay let's move on to dilemmas we've got some good ones Number one Do you follow someone You've just met On Instagram immediately Or do you wait a few days Oh I do it like straight away I'm such a keen bean I actually am really bad I've got a bit of a Who Sorry Is it like a romantic partner Or just a point Just anyone I think just anyone What and you're going home And following them on Instagram Yeah like If I met someone At an event or something And I like vibe them up I probably In that conversation I'm actually so agree with that Yeah What's your Instagram I'm gonna follow you around Or if you were at a wedding And made new friends Yeah I did that in the wedding I just went to.
38:13But I would more wait for, like I probably wouldn't be researching them. You know what you get tagged in a group photo and then it's like, oh, there's Hyatt who I just met. I'll follow her. I think I'm quite like in the moment. If I'm not like, I'm not not friendly. I'm very, I am very friendly when I vibe with someone, but I'm quite shy otherwise. If I do vibe with someone, I will be like, oh my God, what's your Instagram? Let's do it. Like I'll do it then and there. so yeah I would do a straight away I have a bit of a reputation in my friendship group and I would just be like talking to people and we'll be having a conversation I've known them for like four years yeah and I'll go on Instagram because I've mentioned something and I don't follow them that happens because I actually don't think to follow people like that what like your close friends yeah literally it happens to me all the time I'm not someone that's in the habit of making friends, meeting people.
39:05I've known some of these people for years and I just don't follow them. It's not my habit to go off and follow someone on Instagram because they're my friend. If it's like a friend's partner or like if it's a friend that you've met through a friend, I'm probably similar. I'll be like, oh yeah, I follow that. And then when I like go to look at something, I'm like, oh, I don't. Like you realize that much later down the line. But maybe, I actually do get that. There are so many people that I sometimes have and I don't even have a big following, but I will you know sometimes it comes up with suggested while you're scrolling and I'll be like oh and it says follow back and it's this person that's followed me that I know ish and I'm like oh my god I have no idea when they followed me yeah and I look now like a bitch for not following them back so I immediately followed them back but I'm like oh and then hopefully they know that it It hasn't been, I just don't really look at my list.
39:59No, I'm just following me. So I guess the answer is it's fine as long as like you've got a vibe and like you know them and you're like, well, I don't think it's bad. It's totally fine. I think it's such a compliment to be like straight away like I want to be besties. Let's follow each other. I think it's very normal. I've been dating someone for six weeks and have a wedding coming up. Is taking them too serious or is going alone too sad or is taking my gay best friend too misleading? I don't think going alone is sad. No. I think taking your gay best friend is not misleading because he's gay. Yeah.
40:25I think but also like who are you misleading yeah so I'm not sure where that comes in I think six weeks for the person that's getting married is way too soon it's disrespectful to take someone that they don't know to a wedding I agree yeah I think as long that came across really bitchy sauce but I just feel like that is not fair just go alone yeah unless they have been like oh I don't care bring whoever you want then yeah fine like if you really want to bring them then fine but otherwise I think either go by yourself because hopefully you would know other people there or yeah bring a friend but I do think if you didn't know anyone yeah if you don't know anyone it's i think i would be more tempted yeah wedding is such a long yeah if they've said you can obviously yeah i did but i don't know many people that would allow someone they don't know to come to a wedding as a guest unless they're so super chill yeah but i can't imagine that no but i think in terms of like what it means between your relationship like that does feel quite serious way too soon yeah yeah to bring someone to a wedding yeah unless it's so chill and you're like you're getting photos together and yeah it's just not yeah I don't like that.
41:25As someone getting married, I wouldn't allow that. Same. I can imagine you wouldn't. Take your gay best friend. I've got a personal dilemma. Well, it's actually not that much of a dilemma, but I was just like interesting to throw this out. Do you care what your partner wears? Yes. Because I went to a restaurant, quite a nice restaurant the other day, and my boyfriend who is very, he's grown up by the surf, he's very relaxed, one of my favourite qualities about him, but he also has a blasé-ness about him and potentially, yeah, a potential to misread dress code requirements. And so he's wearing board shorts.
42:01We're in the middle of London. Yeah. And black socks with white shoes. Oh, that's an interesting look. Yeah. And I just said, you know, Henry, like, you look amazing. So lovely to see you tonight. So lovely. We can't wear board shorts. We wear board shorts. Like what kind of dress? Julie's in Monninghill. Oh, okay, yeah. And he's got a collared shirt on, so we've got to give him that. That's so strange. Was it like a printed board short? Like, what was the vibe of the board short? Khaki. A khaki sort of... Block colour. A block colour. That makes it like an inch better. That does sound a bit...
42:38Faded from being in the surf. I think there's a time and a place, right? Like, maybe Julie's in Notting Hill was not the place to wear board shorts, but there are probably places you could. I.e. the beach. The beach. but would you care like would you yeah i would care yeah i'd be a little bit embarrassed i wasn't embarrassed i just thought i'd be a bit like callum we can't go for drinks after this what are you wearing i yeah i do care but i have a privilege of not having to care because i feel like he dresses well yes it works in fashion that he doesn't i don't have to think about what he's wearing but if he was wearing something that i didn't like i i'm quite blunt i would definitely if I thought Callum was wearing a bit of a quirky outfit that I wasn't into and I don't mean it in a mean way like I'm not bullying him saying what the hell are you wearing I would definitely be like hun that is a bit rogue isn't it and he does usually say to me like he needs supervision he goes I was unsupervised it's all in the way you say it and the tone of how you say it I just think in a relationship you've got to be comfortable enough to be honest there is no point being rubbish bit of friendly banter to tell them how you really feel well thank you guys so much and thank you for watching if you haven't already make sure you subscribe so you are the first to see all of our content over on youtube if you're listening make sure you head over to youtube so you can see what we're wearing and all the just see us we're doing we look amazing see us over on youtube and we will see you very soon bye
