In short

The LuxeGen Podcast episode debates whether people are still in their “Harry Styles era,” focusing on his Netflix-streamed concert (with phone restrictions, disposable cameras) and his new “American Girls” music video, which fans interpret as “Easter eggs” referencing One Direction’s “Kiss You.” The hosts also discuss Timothée Chalamet controversy after comments (on a Matthew McConaughey podcast) claiming opera and ballet aren’t interesting anymore, sparking backlash and “misinformation” accusations. They cover the “Call Her Daddy” fallout: OG co-hosts Alex Cooper and Sophia Franklin split in 2020 over Barstool/contract and money, with Sophia later writing “Daddy Issues” (pre-order, September release).

0:00Lola:This week on the Lux Gen podcast, we're discussing if we're still in our Harry Styles era. It's an Easter egg wonder you're coming back. They're not. How just this week, Timothee Chalamet has sparked a big debate. That was his Oscar gone. It's getting a lot of backlash. I mean, a lot of people with Oscars have backlash too, so I don't know if it's gone. And finally, all of the products we have bought this payday. I'm like very obsessed with pigeons. Do you have a pigeon bag? That is in my basket. Keep listening and don't forget to subscribe. Wow welcome back ladies this is a very exciting podcast because a we have broadcaster content creator extraordinaire

0:41Lola:we have Lola with us hi so welcome ladies Ellie this is your first podcast this is my first ever podcast what a way to come in I've never said yes to one so I thought this is the perfect trial and error Well, we're truly grateful you've said yes to us. So welcome to the group chat. Oh my God, I love. We will be talking all things celeb, pop culture. Products we're obsessed with. But shall we kick it off with going through our outfits? Okay. Ellie, kick us off. Okay, these jeans are from COS. Belt is COS, T-shirts, Massimo Dutti. I was about to tell you my bra. I won't tell you my bra. I was like, and then this is Mango.

1:16And I got it in Palmer Airport last week.

1:18Lola:I like it. Thank you. Why are European mangoes and Zara so much better? It was in the airport. I had like two hours. And I got this. It was so exciting. Amazing. I know, right? And your gorgeous necklace. Where's that from? This is Miss Soma. B for Bella, my dog. I know, lame, but the E was ugly, so I got the B. And then these are Miss Soma as well. Then I got a Bista Village. And then all my jewelry is Majuri. Very nice. What about you guys? Lola? I've got a lot going on today, to be honest. I've got Deco Copenhagen boots on. Adidas, green trackies. I like this colorway. Really? Is it new? I think I got it in summer with their launch with, remember me and India went to that fashion show?

2:00Yes. It was so fun. I love that sentence. Remember we went to that fashion show? Remember? Just casually. That was fab. H &M Blazer and classic weekday tarp, you can't beat them. So nice. I'm cold. Yeah, it's cold in there. And isolated jewelry, neck. Lovely.

2:15Lola:I thought it was tea and tequila. Yeah, it looks very similar. They've got really nice ones too. And your glasses are getting a lot of love at the moment. My glasses are Jimmy Farley course. They do the best. They do the best. We do love a spec in this office. We really do. Dea, what are you wearing? I have got, this is a Pull and Bear jacket. I've got my cords on, which I'm absolutely loving this season. They're from Zara. Loafers are J. Crew and they do not break your ankles. So that's good. Oh gosh. Yeah, they're stunning. And then actually this is a basic top from Two Clothing. Wow. Really nice and weighty t-shirt.

2:46Lola:That's good. And then the specs. Is that prescribed? No, these are actually blue light. I do wear contacts. so I've got contacts underneath. Okay. Which, yeah, because I wear glasses. You put them in your glasses. Well, you know, you haven't got to yet. Sometimes like putting your prescription takes time and I'm really impatient. who has time for that? If I wear glasses, it's because I feel ugly and I want to look good. all the time. I feel like me every day. All the day. And yeah, that's so cool though. But sometimes I'm like, I'm sad my eyes are perfect. Well, Ellie, we kind of want to touch on your journey.

3:13Lola:You've had the most incredible career. Like, take us back to the beginning. How did you fall into content? So, I feel like I've always wanted to be a presenter, even when I didn't know what the hell it was. I was like, I wanna be a presenter. And then, I guess long story short, went to uni, same uni. Just didn't go to my classes. I was silly. I got my first and after overdraft. I came back to my house and I had like 10 Zara bags. And they were like, Ellie, where did you get all this money? I was like, there's this thing called an overdraft. It's like, I'm very funny. Student loan? Yeah, yeah. So I returned that, that day.

3:45Anyway, I ended up dropping out. My parents were supportive of that. but they were like, we'll give you a roof over your head, but we're not giving you any money. You've got to figure it out. And because I knew I wanted to be a presenter, it was going to take so long. I was like, I need to find a job that will make me, without sounding lame, not fall out of love with life. Because I felt like if I went into a job that I fell out of love with life, I would become like a robot. I know what I'm like. And I would go and I just wouldn't pursue my dreams. And I was like, what do I love? I love kids.

4:10I gave my nine to three boys, loved it, until one of them threw a knife at me because he didn't like my bolognese. Yeah, that was the last time I cooked for a man. you've got law yeah literally of course i was like okay bye and uh then i worked at a nursery which i loved and i stayed way too long because i loved it so much got paid nothing but i was

4:25Lola:like the happiest and then one day kids love you yeah miss ellie i can't i had the best time the nicest parents the cutest children i had i was there for like four years or something okay wow and then i left what are you doing what sort of you had this dream to be a presenter all the time so you're doing that well i thought i could do presenting on the side and it just didn't end up like that. Again, I got sucked in. I just was with the kids the whole time. I never did presenting. So then one day I was like, I need to quit. So I quit. And there was like two years where I was just like blurry. I actually don't really remember what I did.

4:54I like did anything to be in front of a camera. I was like a shopping, live shopping host. I worked for an influencer. That was, that was triggering. Learned a lot from that. What I wouldn't do if I got a platform. And then one day I went to Cape Verde to this ghastly all-inclusive and my outfits were not appropriate for this all-inclusive place. I love all-inclusives, but this one was particularly interesting. And then I was like, to my boyfriend, my lovely boyfriend at the time, he's not with us at the moment. That sounds like he died, we broke up. But I was like, why don't I just film my outfit?

5:24Okay, so this is how the iconic outfit of the day started. In Cape Verde! So when you say they weren't appropriate, are we talking you were over the top? Yes. It was like, without, this sounds big-headed, but they were too chic for this like, you know, bucket alcohol. It's a bit of a juxtaposition. Yeah, yeah. I love that.

5:42Lola:And did one just blow up overnight? I just don't know. It was quite slow, but I just realized, oh my God, people like my personality. It was still at a time where it was very like, everything's aesthetic. People are posing, pictures, da da da, which I did try and it went terribly wrong. And I was like, oh, people like, just like, I think they like the raw and just being like blah blah blah saying what's on my mind. Unedited, sort of. Yeah, I think they like the unedited. And then I just carried on with that and then I signed to my agency who I love on the A thing. And then I just said to them, I was like, I don't want to be an influencer not that that's a bad thing at all but I was like I want to be known as a presenter amazing and now I'm here with you guys and you've you've sort of covered sporting events you've all sorts so what kind of things have you been up to so I just recently did NFL that's so cool which was unbelievable wow do you ever have like the earpiece of people yes so what's that like oh my god it's so cool honestly and at one point they were like Ellie we don't need the earpiece anymore I was like no it looks really cool I'll keep it in there's nothing going on in there is that they're feeding you information or giving you a countdown so I was interviewing people that were going there.

6:42And before, maybe players and things like that. But they would say, you're going to interview this. And then I'd come up with questions and things that I'd find interesting in other people. I'm very much the middle person that, with whatever I'm talking about, I'm probably not knowledgeable. And I'll put my hands up. But I'm the person I want you to be like, oh, if she's enjoying herself, then I can enjoy my life. I feel like sport and fashion, yeah. They're quite intense. I feel like sport and fashion are very much like, if you're not knowledgeable, then you're almost exiled. So I want to be the middle person.

7:10where it's like, no, you can come and enjoy it and not know what's happening. Also, if you let everyone know that, you're not trying to be like, I'm the know-it-all. No, oh my God, I'm the first to be like, hello, I don't know what's happening, but I'm having a good time and I got my earpiece. I bet that's kind of important, though, for people who also don't know the sport to follow you.

7:28Lola:Because you never watch those shows. It's relatable as well, isn't it? It's so relatable. You watch those shows and you're like, hell is going on. Yeah, for sure. And everyone's talking about terms you don't know. Yeah, oh my God, yeah, just fake it till you make it. Fake until you make it. Loli, you're a big F1 fan. I feel like that would be your niche. If I could do like presenting that, I'd be like, I've made it. Oh my God, I love that. Yeah, F1 is so cool. And you've done the races and things. I've done the races. I was actually there when you were at Royal Ascot. I remember Summer House, we were like filming with a partnership.

7:58Because I think we were probably

7:59Lola:one of the very other few people that were just being quite silly and filming content and transitions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my God, I love it. So what would you say your top tips are for people that want to get into presenting. I think nowadays you've got to be yourself. I know that's such a lame thing to say, but you do because I think people can smell if you're being fake. I don't technically know what I'm talking about, but I do at the same time. Know what you want. And then just be patient. Honestly, I'm way before what I want to do. But also it's incredible to hear that, obviously, this was a goal of yours since you were young.

8:34Lola:But you really have been doing this for years and years and years to get to where you are now. I think people, a lot of people are like, oh my God, you're so lucky you've just like made it or like got to where you are. I'm like, it has taken years and years. And consistency of posting. And don't be let down by like, I think there's a, we're in this whole generation of, if you don't have the right followers, you're not going to make it. You're not going to da, da, da, da, da. But that's not the case. Like, just keep going. If you're just staying in your own lane, 100%. And not comparing because there will always be someone that's doing something better than you or got a better outfit.

9:05Exactly. It's like that song, you know the sunscreen song. I love that song. Lola, please tell me you've seen this. It's like wear sunscreen. If I could offer you, I think it's literally called like sunscreen. Everybody wears sunscreen. By Baz something.

9:19Lola:Basically, when I was a child, dad used to play it in the car. Because there was this like one line that was like, don't fight with your siblings, they're the, what is it, it's such a good line. It's something like they're the last people that you'll have. And the people that essentially, it's like a really sweet line. And I remember he'd put it on the car and be like, kids, listen. Listen. And it was like, I don't read beauty magazines, they only make you feel ugly. That's great. It's so good. It isn't trending on TikTok at the moment. No, it's super, super old. It's from the 90s. Let's trend it again.

9:47Yeah. But it's basically saying like, someone could be ahead of you, someone could be behind, but like, oh, the race is long. Da da da da da. And they're basically just saying like, take your time, it's okay. You might not be where you wanna be right now, but you will at some point. You've just gotta like, consistency, have faith, have good people around you, that is one thing. I don't think I'd be where, I wouldn't be where I was without multiple people, my friends, my family, my brother, my lovely ex-boyfriend who I sounded like he died, he didn't. He's somewhere in East London. And at the time he was instrumental.

10:22But if I had, for example, a bad relationship at the time, that could have crumbled. Just know who's around you whilst you're getting to where you are. Be very well aware. Love that. I think always the fear as well. It's like, it's always, I feel too cringe posting. Like, and then you actually meet the friend that like doesn't post at all. And they're like, nobody cares. Just post it. Everyone's always jealous of the other side of the person who is posting. So just go for it.

10:46Lola:Anyway, it's about four minutes of this. It's like a bit of a, it's almost like a wrap. It's like a pick me up. Yeah. And it's, but it's to a beat. And it's like got the most amazing life advice. You know, I suck a five. You do love a quote. I love a quote. Every morning, right? Yeah. You read a quote. We've got a group chat that every Monday morning, everyone puts in a piece of advice. It's just honestly the most refreshing thing. Should I give you a read on? I'm going to read you my quote this morning. Okay, focus on being productive instead of busy. Last week, don't stop when you're tired, stop when you're done.

11:16Damn, I like that. I'll give you one more.

11:19Lola:Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. Oh, I love that. That's very true. And very true, yeah, for sure. Have a good attitude always. Amen.

11:31Lola:Okay, we're going to move on to the hot list. But before we do, guys, I need your help with something. We need more subscribers. We do. We want guests like Ellie, so subscribe, send me that you've subscribed, and I'll send you a tenner. That's how you're going to get them. To clarify, that is a joke. Yeah, yeah. Please, I want to. Okay, firstly, Harry Styles just dropped one night in Manchester on Netflix. Tell us what happened. So the news came out. It was only like a week ago that this was gonna be streamed on Netflix to everyone. Yeah, it all happened so fast. It all happened really quickly.

12:03Lola:You weren't allowed your phone. Or if you took your phone in there, you were given a sticker on the front and the back. You had to put it in a pouch. And you were given a disposable camera, which is quite fun. Love that. I had a little look at it last night on Netflix and there were a few cheeky people that managed to get a phone. They definitely were like, yeah. Two phones. Yeah. But pretty cool that he streamed it to Netflix. Very cool. And he's also just dropped a music video of his new song, American Girls. It's really good. So it's kind of like a really stripped back. It shows the music video being created from like behind the scenes.

12:35Lola:If that makes sense. I like that. You see all the set guys, you see his stunt doubles. It's just so cool. It's just a really different point of view. It's a nice way to see the army that goes into those sorts of things. Because sometimes maybe Harry just gets all the credit. And that's kind of what he does. He just rocks up. Yeah. And he does his thing. And there's this really like hot, cool boss bitch girl that is one of his stunt doubles driving the car. that she takes the helmet off and all this hair comes out. Oh my God, I love it. People are saying it's got a lot of references to the One Direction video, Kiss You.

13:03Do you remember that? Let me kiss you. So it's very... I'm ancient. I don't know. Were you not a 1D fan? I wasn't. What? I don't know what I was doing. You and no one else. JB? I've listened to a lot of Persian music. Oh, love that. I've never been like die hard for any of the bands, to be honest. Fair, fair. And that's not very, that sounds like I'm being pygmy, I'm not, I'm just a bit lame. That's okay.

13:30Lola:But yeah, there's lots of references to the Kiss You video, which obviously the 1D fans are like going mental for. They see so many clues like that. And always invest in who are these FBI like teenage girls. Do they call them like Easter eggs or something? Yes. Something like that. The Harry Styles fans call them Easter eggs. Well they find Easter eggs in videos. which is like these things that maybe they weren't even meant to be. Yeah. Like the Swifties and stuff. Somebody's just like, God forbid we like copied a music video and now everyone's like saying, oh, it's an Easter egg one day you're coming back.

13:58Oh my God. They're not.

13:59Lola:But on the sort of the whole thing of musicians streaming their concerts, I do think it's perhaps something that we're going to be seeing a lot more of. Do you think they're like less like big shows just so that everybody can watch on Netflix? I don't like that. No, I feel like there's such like a power of going to a massive concert. I get so emotional at concerts. Me too. I leave, I'm like, I'm in the wrong career. yeah it's such an incredible and when you go if you haven't been for a while you're like god now i remember yeah why it's so good billy eilish she's got a big film coming yeah where she's been filming for eight and she filmed a whole tour i think yeah yeah because phineas did a lot of the filming like on stage and stuff yeah so cool brother sister do unreal their goals yeah and they're also like best friends and how old are they well billy eilish is i think your age What's that?

14:4923. Which is a bit like...

14:52Lola:Switch us. She's 23 years old. She's kind of treated like way too old though. She gives older. In the nice way, she's very mature. She's had a lot of life experiences with someone of that age, hasn't she? Which is why Harry Styles and Justin Bieber and everyone are always trying to protect her. Yeah, Justin, relationship with Justin's quite sweet. I know. Oh, do they have a really good name? Yeah, she was obsessed with him growing up. Yeah, I know that. Wanted to marry, and then they met at Coachella. and she's just like staring at him like, this is a life goal. The bar for men has officially gone higher.

15:24Lola:Have you guys seen the US traders Rob bought Maura Higgins a Birkin? Yes. A Birkin, that annoyed me. Out of pure jealousy, I'll be honest. Do we think this is real? Do you think he actually bought it for her or it's hers? I think he bought it for her. I think he did because he was seen in the actual store and everything. Yeah, yeah. And they had quite the, they built up quite the relationship, didn't they, in there? It was very clever because he was hated for a bit. Her reaction when she found out that he was a traitor, she was like, oh my God. Did you watch it, the US one? I just watched it through TikTok.

15:54Yeah, yeah, yeah, which is so bad. But I love the traitors, it's so good. Me too. I really wanna go on.

15:58Lola:Ellie, you'd be good on the traitors. Yeah. Do you reckon you've got it in you? Maybe. I'd wanna be an evil person on it, so I'd wanna be a traitor. If you're going on to be a faithful. No, that's nice. But I find it hard lying. My brother and I have this thing when we lie, our nose is, oh I shouldn't tell you actually, in case I'm on it one day. be on my nose flare I'm like I love your outfit me watching the entire pod back like what is she lying yeah the whole thing is just like zooming on my nose that's it but yeah pretty iconic yeah so maybe that's bare minimum I like that that should be the new bare minimum yeah that'd be a Birkin I don't want the door open I want the Birkin um Timothee Chalamet has sparked a little bit of controversy hasn't he yeah oh god yes I saw that yeah talk me through it because I know of bits and bobs.

16:45Lola:Yeah, so he came under fire. He was on a, was it a podcast with Matthew McConaughey? Yes. And you can kind of see as Timothy was saying this, Matthew's face was like, he was just nodding like, oh, oh God. And he basically essentially sort of said that no one is interested in the opera and ballet anymore. Yeah. Which. So random of him to say that. Yeah. Considering also his past as well. This industry's already struggling like a lot. You didn't need to say that. Also, his mom, his grandma, and somebody else were all ballet teachers or something. Like I saw it on an interview and I was like, oh, why are you saying that?

Read the full transcript

17:22I kind of get it. If you've never been involved in the world, I understand how it could slip out and come across wrong.

17:28Lola:But also I think that often these actors are potentially in this bubble and they forget what's outside this bubble. But like thousands of people go to the Royal Opera every night and watch the ballet. I'm a fan of the ballet. Is she? Oh yeah, she's obsessed. So is mine. Yeah, if any single men around there want to take her on a date, she likes the ballet. She likes the ballet money. All the ballet TikTok accounts and stuff have now used the audio and created these incredible montage videos. You have to be so careful. I think also people like Timothy, they don't realize how much power they have in a single one.

17:58That was his Oscar gone in that one.

18:00Lola:Do you think? Well, it's getting a lot of backlash. God, it's not gross. I mean, a lot of people with Oscars have backlash too, so I don't know if it's gone. But I do think it was wrong, someone that young should say it. Because then you're kind of just like misinforming people about something that young people could really be into. That's what it is. It's complete misinformation because it's everyone, like so many people are interested in the ballet and the opera and stuff. Not me, no offense. But like people, it's such a huge industry. So it was very rogue that he ran the camera. So rogue. I really didn't see him.

18:33Lola:I didn't have him down for that. Do you think he's going to come out and say anything? I don't know. Like if he, you know what he used to do? Just like fund a ballet school and be like, I'm sorry, take my money. Yeah, but they guarantee people will be like, you're only doing that now. Yeah. I mean, he can do no right now. True. But like anything he does in the situation. And also this was, in the nicest way possible, he was doing a press tour for his film about ping pong. You know what I mean? I saw TikTok. The ballet, opera, ping pong. Which he also doesn't actually play. So I'm like, I'm losing a bit of love after he said that.

19:05Oh, God.

19:06Lola:And I feel like he was kind of golden boy. Oh, totally. Yeah, he was. Who has seen the film, I swear? No, but it's in my diary to watch. Yes, so it follows John Davidson, a young boy in the 80s who had Tourette's. And the film is really worth watching in terms of really emotional watch, but also I don't want to spoil it. You'll go through all the emotions. But it's a must watch. There are a lot of that is a must watch. I'm so excited. Yeah, it's amazing. Really, really incredible. One of the best films you've got. So moving, it's just, yeah. Yeah, it really is, yeah. It touches on a subject that I feel like people maybe aren't that aware of.

19:41So it's very important, I think.

19:43Lola:And more so just the struggle of even then, back in the 80s, 90s of, yes, it's even a struggle now, but back then when people didn't even know it was a thing. Yeah, so true. Yeah, so a must, must watch. Lola, I feel like you can inform us on this. I already know what you're gonna say. The cool her daddy fallout. Yeah. Oh, yes, let's get it. This is my stuff. Right, come on, so can you set the tone? Alex Cooper and Sophia Franklin used to be the OG co-hosts of Call Her Daddy. Like they were iconic. This podcast was like the first podcast I feel that was like kind of really naughty, raw, funny. And they just had such a good vibe.

20:20They basically fell out because they wanted to look for another place for the podcast to go. Sophia and her suit man at the time basically said, we want more money. We don't want to go with Barstool. we want to go somewhere else i think she said she wanted it to only be hers or something like that

20:38Lola:so did barstool they wanted to take them on so barstool had them from the beginning so dave portnoy was like super close to the girls okay and like they used to youtube videos together it was like really good content yeah basically after sophia said that she didn't want to be with barstool anymore dave portnoy was like okay well actually i'm just going to give it to alex call her daddy's going to be only hers and we're going to give her more money yeah so sophia kind and got pushed back. They had this massive fight. And now, Sophia has done a few podcasts about it, but she's written a book called Daddy Issues.

21:13So clever. And I saw the artwork. Oh, I haven't seen that. So you know what? It's a cutout, isn't it? Yeah. And it's of Alex, but she's cut out. And I saw this interview. So it's the two of them with her face cut out. I think when they were filming Call Her Daddy. It's so interesting. I'm the same. I was like a big Call Her Daddy OG fan. I'm just so intrigued because she said, she was like, it's been six years since it kind of all went down. It happened in 2020. My God. Wow. Which is insane. Also, can we believe that's six years ago? It kind of feels like yesterday. I want to die. And she was like, she was saying, she was like, I never spoke that much about it.

21:49Not because she was under any NDA or anything, but because she was like, if I spoke at the time, people would have been like, oh, you're just, you're just like, what's it called, bitter and all that stuff. I think she got so much hate at the time. She did. So I'm very intrigued. But it's just like, there's two sides to every story. Yeah. And they're both, you know, hyper successful, powerful women. I'm just intrigued to see what she has to say, because we've heard a lot from Alex and her team, and Dave's obviously -

22:11Lola:Well yeah, but what's Alex's response been to this? She stayed silent lately. Yeah, I haven't seen anything. And that's what - When's the book out? It's on pre-order, I got it. I think it's out in September. So we've got a while, and we're just waiting for it to come. But I feel like Alex is the sort of person who has to reply, seeing as her whole podcast is gossip. So I'm like, kind of like, what are you going to go? She'll do a podcast, surely. I'm sure, because she does those single episodes. Or she'll go on a podcast. Or she'll get her on a podcast. Imagine if they did it together. Well, that would be a bit of a 360.

22:40Clever, clever. But yeah, it's interesting. There's obviously a lot's gone down. No one will know completely. I think it's good, you know, it's good for Sophia to say her side of the story. But I think with this kind of thing, we always have to remember that there are two sides to every situation. I feel like we've got such a problem with picking sides as well. like naturally online you'll see like comment sections you'll be like yeah okay yeah i agree with them and then you'll see someone's response video and be like oh yeah they were wrong yeah yeah i feel like i don't want to pick a side on this i kind of just want to remain like so i'm neutral yeah yeah obviously both of them screwed up like they fell out like but like i don't think

23:16Lola:we should hate on either woman no did you guys watch jesse nelson's documentary i've seen clips I only watched clips. Again, I only watched through TikTok. Yeah, that was interesting. But again, because that was like her story, however many years later, and you, at the time you think, oh my God, there was a narrative that was pushed by the media. That was Jessie's bad. Yeah, and that Jessie decided to leave. She didn't. She basically got pushed out. Someone else wanted to leave. Yeah. And they never, yeah, someone else wanted to leave, but they never named that person. I don't think she ever knew.

23:47No, so she said she's still not gonna, she's never gonna say who did it. They're sitting on it for however many years

23:51Lola:before they have the opportunity to say that's that. Well, you just know that you're going to get so much backlash. That's a scary thing. I think I'm going to have to pre-order it. Oh, no, you must. Celebrity weddings are going top secret. I know. I don't think Zendaya and Tom are married. Do you not think? No, I don't. But then Law Roach said, you've already missed it. He said on an interview, it's been, honey. And I'm like, see, that is the closest person to Zendaya that's still in like the media eye that could talk on it because he would have been involved. With everything. I think they're trying to throw us off.

24:28Do you think? Throw us off the scent. It's like Charles Leclerc. Like no one really knew that that was happening and they were like, they're just trying to throw us all off. Potentially. I spoke to someone the other day and they were like, I find it so annoying that these celebs are like getting married secretly. I'm like, no, I think it's like the biggest day ever apart from the birth and that's private. So like, I so get why they'd want to keep it completely private. Because on Charles Leclerc, his brother got married. He was not in the limelight and not an F1 driver. And the streets were filled up.

24:56And it was kind of like, everyone was like, can you stop calling for Charles because it's not his wedding day? Can you get out of the way? So I kind of get that. But also I still feel there's an element of people want to know, people are just going to be nosy. You're in the limelight. So at least drop a hint, like a Polaroid pic.

25:17Lola:Drop a pin. Drop a disposable camera or something. The main star of that wedding was the dog. The dog. Yeah. So cute. I'm like, how did you get it to pose so well? He had a little tux on. I think AI, right? Do you think? Yeah. The dog was literally looking out the balcony like, head first. But then when they were, you know, when they were signing, whatever it is, the dog was just neatly placed there. I think they're real. I think on the balcony it was too much. Yeah, surely. Or it was like on a string or something. She's getting a lot of hate for wearing her hair in a slick bag. She's getting a lot of hate in general.

25:48Lola:I think she would. Twitter were going crazy because she took his surname almost sort of the next day. But they were like, but if then she didn't take his surname, would she have? Yeah, exactly. No, it's... It's kind of like a done thing now. People do change their Instas like that, don't they? They do. They have that handle pending. Some people do it on the day. It's like they go to the bathroom, miss, meal, and they're like, oh, that Mrs. and then change it. That's too much. Yeah, put your phone away.

26:15Lola:Right, well, should we move on to things we're loving? Okay. I want to know what is in your baskets? What are you shopping? What have you purchased recently? I've got a collection of really weird bags. I, like, love my weird bags. Oh, my God, I saw your video. Yeah, I love weird, but I have, like, a bag that's shaped of, like, a Victoria sponge. And the grapes. The grapes. That's what I saw, yeah. That's my favourite. And there is, I'm, like, very obsessed with pigeons. That sounds very pick me, but I have never heard anyone say that. In what capacity? I just think they're beautiful. I've loved them since I was a child.

26:44No, that's too much. I only know people that have deep fears of pigeons. Yeah, I know. I'm like, get it gripped on. Do you have a pigeon bag? That is in my basket. JW Anderson has a pigeon bag, but it's like 700 pounds. I'm like, I just can't. People will know if I'm carrying this pigeon bag that you spent 700 pounds on that. Where does it open in that sense? Probably like the verge. The verge or something. I was like, I don't know if they have them. I don't know. But I think they're so beautiful. And everyone's like, they're rats in the sky. I'm like, if you really look at them, in the sunlight, they shine.

27:14They are ombre. They have this ombre. Oh, beautiful. Play the sad music. Yeah. Is that sad? I just think they're so cute. And they just like go around. I've always, honestly, since I was a child, I'm like obsessed with them. So I want that bag. If I'm walking in London and I go to a park, would you be that like feeling them? Because you know those women in the parks where they're like surrounded by pigeons. Fabulous. The one in that junction near Marble Arch. I need to interview her one day. I know exactly. You should do a video in there. Just like in amongst them. Yeah, yeah. I just think like a very chic outfit and then you're like holding a pigeon.

27:50That is everything I want in life. So do you go for like a plain outfit and then work around the bag or? Not really. I'll just like do the outfit and then even if the bag doesn't match. Love a weird bag. What about you guys? Demode Mode is a really small brand that I found the other day and it has the nicest silhouette. Very like, not over the top with its like colours or anything, quite subtle, but still like pops of blues and yellows and everything. But just the way that they layer and they shape like these, well, these models, I'm obsessed with. Gorge. Yeah, so I think I'm going to get something from there.

28:22And then Free People's been killing it at the moment. I feel like a lot of girls in summer are rocking Free People.

28:28Lola:It comes into its own summertime. It really does. It's hidden away for winter and it's back. But you can't sleep on the free people movement just for like athleisure. Yeah, it's very good actually. Yeah, it's so good. They have the most amazing big woolly jumpers. Yeah, stunning. You're quite a free people girl aren't you? Yeah. So I saw this really nice like layered top again, like lace that kind of looks like a bra or is poking out of it. But it's sexy. Sexy. Nice. But it looks cool to dress up, dress out. Love that. Also M &S. I saw a comment that said, has M &S got better or have we just grown up?

29:00Lola:Yeah. I think they're better both. No, I think they've had, yeah, they've had designers from, did they come from Coz or something? Yeah, they have, whoever it is, they're killing it. Honestly, they're so good. And the material is honestly insane. What have you found? I found, I got this Helsa jacket that it was like pre-order. It was quite expensive, la la la. And I went into M &S and they have the exact dupe for like 60 quid. And it's just as good material. That's so annoying. It's, I mean, yeah. Did you send it back? No, no, I already got coffee stain on it. I do love that coat. M &S, definitely go there.

29:30Agreed. What are you buying?

29:32Lola:I just bought a really nice reversible trench from Zara. I had it on earlier. It's so nice. It's nice, isn't it? Yeah. So it's got like the sort of plaid gingami on the app, that side, and then you turn it in and it's just normal trench color, but you can roll back the sleeves. It's got like a nice label that you can pull across. Nice. So good. Also food, M &S, red velvet hot cross buns. Have you had them? Yes. Unbelievable. I just love Easter time and I love the hot cross buns. Wait, I want to go get those at lunch. Yeah. And they do millionaires once as well, with like caramel and chocolate.

30:03Really good.

30:04Lola:Also Birkenstock have done a collab with Etro. Have you seen them Birkenstocks? Beautiful, they're like cow girly, stitching with a big buckle on the side. That's very you. They're like the summer. You gonna get that? I'd love to. That's so good. The best collabs are always from Uniqlo. Agreed. Uniqlo did the most insane collab with Colgaya, and they did it in the US, and they had this green shirling suede coat and I got my friend in New York to buy it for me and then I got it shipped to the UK. Worth it. Honestly, it's my favorite coat in the whole world. Uniqlo, they did one with JW Anderson.

30:41Yeah, those shirts were amazing. The quality's so good. So good, and for the price point as well.

30:46Lola:Agreed. We love a collab. We love the most unintentional collabs too. So good. Any beauty or skincare? Charlotte Tilbury. Of course. Charlotte Tilbury their palettes just make my day I'm the biggest fan it's so good have you guys tried Dior Beauty no obviously a bigger price point but the stuff lasts they've got this Dior Beauty contour wand and it changes my face I'm actually quite scary and it is unbelievable okay so that's my beauty I'd say okay skincare anything I do skincare is from my mum so she's like a big La Roche-Posay anything L 'Oreal Paris Cerevis Cetaphil yeah Vaseline I put it under my eyes I've got people onto that Yeah it's so good Before you go to bed Put Vaseline under your eyes It brings up Yeah And over your lips Yes Under your lip line Okay And your knuckles I need to do that Lola any beauty I got the Rabanne Zebra Mascara And it's so good And I'm quite loyal to my mascaras But like I am obsessed with it Also the Sculpted by Amy I'm just obsessed with this brand Yeah yeah that brand is so good I've never had the Hydra Tint before And I tried it And it is worth the hype like it's so blurring but also like quite light I love them concealer as well yeah amazing thank you for the rep yeah well we'll put them all in the link below ladies thank you so much thank you this has been such a fun yap yeah it has been thank you for having me this is so fun I hope you enjoyed your first pod Ellie I loved it yeah it was really good fun thank you so much that was so fun all right well we will see you next week oh please please please subscribe bye bye
