In short

The LuxeGen Group Chat episode covers: Jay-Z’s surprise tour announcement and performances (Beyoncé with Blue Ivy; Eminem; Rihanna), including a claim that Beyoncé shaved Jay-Z’s head on opening night to match an “OG” look; discussion of whether Rihanna will release new music or just tour; celebrity spotting at London’s Club 22 involving Alix Earle and Lando Norris (and speculation they’re together); Zendaya’s Odyssey press-tour “method dressing” looks (notably Schiaparelli, Alexander McQueen, and angel-wing styling); and a debate on Gen Z “aesthetic consumerism” and gendered marketing, plus examples like ranch packets at TSA and Wimbledon strawberry-cream beer.

0:00Welcome back to the LuxGen Group Chat. On this week's episode, we discuss all things from Jay-Z's surprise tour announcement dates, performances that we've seen. Oh my gosh. Beyonce was there with Blue Ivy. Eminem. Yeah, unreal. So sick. And Rihanna. To the reality star who might finally be settling down. He has a new girlfriend like every other week. I know. So he's apparently been filming this reality show. He's made a show of this. And they're bringing in his friends and confidants to help judge it. And one of them is his ex. And we discuss whether Gen Z really is the biggest victim of aesthetic consumerism and what that kind of means for our future.

0:35This even affects women so much more. These one things are marketed to us, they're marketing the aesthetic, the lifestyle. Well, for men, you're marketed the owning something versus for women, it's marketing being part of something. Yeah. Now, before we start, make sure you're subscribed and let's get into it. Welcome back to the LuxGen Group Chat. Today, I am joined by Harriet and Angelina. How are we mid-heatwave, ladies? it's going well i'm kind of happy with this temperature it's kind of a baseline for me it's not too hot coping i think we're getting used to it except i'm still not doing the tube like every single time i got on the tube i'm like why i think that is just the worst part of it yeah other parts when you can be like in the shade and it's still warm like that is yeah when you get in brunies so nice and you're like oh i can live again and this is like hot air and you're just like i can fall asleep in this or you sit out in the evenings and you can just like that but you're both very heat wave appropriate in your outfit so please tell us what you're wearing and Harriet, this is a very cool ensemble.

1:28Thanks. I just love the color combo of this like greeny color with the zebra print. Love. This is just a technical jacket from Zara. Then I've got some ASOS zebra print shorts on and white flip-flops. I really like these flip-flops. They're so cool. I kind of like the chunky sort of side bits because I have a thin flip-flop, but I was like, you know what? I need a bit of a chunkier one too. Fair enough. I like the earrings too. Thanks. They're from a brand called Kroyer. We love them. Love the pop of color. and then jewelry what have I got on? some rings from Pilgrim lovely I love that what have we got on today?

2:03very sporty spice yeah I did feel very sporty size this morning so we've got a shirt from Pullen Bear it's like this nice butter yellow colour and it's got like navy and orange stripes on it which I'm kind of loving for summer and then to pair with it I've got some Adidas classic sports shorts nice also navy and then back to more Adidas my favourite Adidas trainers I love these so much just because of the colour way so I really like the burgundy with it and then i've got this little bracelet on it's kind of my favorite gold bracelet i've got as a gift one of my like family gave it to me from italy and it's like stunning and then my necklace is from recreation jewels like pink and gold number good what about you i have got on a very cool like tassel tunic if you will like long length from h &m summer piece and then my very cool barrel leg like roll-up jeans are from align and then my flip-flops red number these are top shop i love that's cool aren't they also you did walk in and i was like oh every day stop god stop my head's not gonna fit no it was a weird one i was like it is very hot but equally i'm kind of getting bored of just shorts and a t-shirt i was like forgetting how to dress i was like no no like must put real outfit together yeah also though my brand discovery i've got their earrings in now um smoothie london smoothie yeah smoothie london really nice and like affordable jewelry um all made in london yeah where's your necklace from oh my necklace this one is actually bright i'm gonna actually talk about it later guys it's my brand discovery but it's a brand called vixie

3:32let's get into the hot list ladies right first things first harriet you spoke about this earlier and i said jay messaged me my boyfriend messaged me straight away jay-z is on tour oh my gosh i had no clue yeah it's like a special isn't it for his anniversary of his album exactly but he's announced at all. Has he? I didn't see that bit. He's coming to London in September. Guys. Yeah. Stop. Are tickets out? No, not yet. I don't think. I don't know when all of that happens. That feels like admin that I'm not bothered with. Sometimes I think like they do come out like I get so confused. Some come out so far in advance and some are so last minute and I'm like I literally can't keep up.

4:04But I'd love to go. Performances that we've seen. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Beyonce was there with Lou Ivy. Performed. Eminem. Yeah. Unreal. So sick. And Rihanna. When they came out and like it was and run this town. I was like, no way. My door literally dropped. I was like, someone put her on tour. And also if she's going on, imagine she comes on his tour. Yeah. I might actually need to get tickets for that. Yeah, genuinely. But I think on the opening night, obviously Jay-Z is really well known. He's been growing his dreads out for a really long time. Yes. And on the first night, Beyonce came out and she shaved his head.

4:37So he's gone back to the OG Jay-Z. Oh, the cropped cut. Yeah. Like the kind of like buzz cut kind of, yeah. Okay, nice. So it's all kind of going like back to how it kind of was maybe this tour will be like a blast from the past he also did drop a track i don't know if you've listened to it but about blue about his daughter it's really nice and he actually um obviously you never know like what is true and what's not but he does mention a line about a miscarriage and it must be like them i suppose now feeling like they can open up because they've brought her up kind of thing so they can talk about what happened yeah years and years ago but i thought quite nice to have like the male perspective kind of opening up yeah that's really rare.

5:13Also like dad vibes. Yeah. Like you hear about it. What a flex to have a song written by, because Beyonce has a song about her and now Jay-Z. Yeah. Famous parents. How sick is that? I do, but in all honesty, I'm like, Blue Ivy's a cool one. Yeah. I love it. If you get a song written by her. Yeah. Excuse me, manager Blue. Like she is the manager. She is like a powerhouse, but so unbothered. I love her. She's just so effortlessly cool. Did you also see that Rihanna kind of hinted that she was going to perform with Jay-Z? she had like a she was walking around with a t and it said like rockefeller on it oh no and people were like oh she hinted at that she was gonna like i mean it could have been total coincidence but like i was like now you look back and you're like yeah that makes sense we've all been begging her for this album do you guys think there's one coming i don't know i think she's got her hands full with three kids yeah and her enterprises yeah yeah i feel like she's kind of over it now i feel like yeah although she probably might do an album i feel like the fun probably is performing with your old best mates yeah for sure that's what i would do if i was like i don't want to make new music let's just go on tour with the besties yeah yeah i would also like be so happy for her to not make new music and then just perform the throwbacks on tour yeah and also they're so good like they stand the test of time amen she might do that she might just do a tour instead and then maybe we'll get an album like years down the line it'll be like wait as her like closing never know of them who knows yeah i reckon she's not done yet no i'm not it's not over for you, Anna.

6:39But other celebrities that we've seen a lot about, Alex Earle, Lando Norris and Ashton. In London. Lives rent free. Oh my God. Did you see, it was like Club 22 or something in London. Oh, the 22. Yeah, the 22. And did you see he just sprints out of there and the paparazzi shot were hilarious. I'd love to know what he was thinking. Why would he sprint? I think he was trying to get away from them so they didn't picture him or whatever, but I'm like, they're obviously going to get you. And then all of a sudden you just see her in the doorway. There's a video that came out of them at the 22 and the first clip of it is this random woman coming out and katie is clearly pissed and she's just like oh yeah the paparazzi's here to see me in it and it's just a random woman and her friend is like come on come on let's go and then all of a sudden you can see alex earl in the corner and then you see lana norris like spore and then alex earl goes to that i'm like guys like but it's like you're making it bigger now have you seen all the side videos of like when that girl's coming out if you look into the side Alex has her arm around Lando in the corner and you can just see the side of her arm you're like yeah I'm sure they are together they're probably just like oh because of the whole aloe yacht thing yeah exactly was it the Monaco Grand Prix yeah as well she was on the aloe lot yeah sorry whilst that was happening wasn't she yeah and they were spotted together at some like great yeah I mean why not both very good looking human beings oh yes someone on you know Dumois yeah someone on there was like apparently he was as close with Alex as he was with Ashton at this one party and I was like oh that's so strange yeah but they surely are having some sort of I think it's definitely I don't they don't strike me as the kind of sisters that will kind of fight I mean they're very open about their fighting but it almost feels like you're watching real sisters yeah yeah because they fight like they hate each other yeah and then when they're normal they are like obsessed with each other so it's kind of wholesome to see a healthy dynamic honestly on the topic of watching them as sisters Earl Meets world is coming out soon i can't wait because i'm sad i feel like this is the new generation of the kardashians same it will be it will be yeah i also think like because they she can be quite open alex on like her socials i reckon there will be a fair amount that she will share yeah which is so exciting because with the kardashians obviously they showed a lot but like in recent times they've kind of like yeah it also feels heavily edited doesn't it yeah it was never like you wouldn't ever get like the off the cuff content stuff whereas with alex you get her and her sister actually and that's like her whole brand as well it's like the messy like how she started so i think we'll be looking forward to a good reality tv yeah i agree well she posted a few clips and she's like bawling her eyes out of something like this is the drama i want yes and also it will give so much context into so many things that we see the her posts online or people post about her and like her relationships and all that stuff that people are like so excited to know about on another note have you guys been seeing zendaya's press tour looks for the odyssey like method dressing to a t honestly my instagram like algorithm is just her in the every morning angel wings oh my god matthew is like what it's such like an interesting brand to me because to me every collection there's always something like jaw dropping about it such cool stunts but that dress i think it's also really cool i think to see that there are obviously fashion is very experimental and some of these outfits that obviously make it onto contour week and stuff, you think, oh my God, beautiful.

10:02But like, you know, who's wearing it? Yeah, totally. Not only does she wear it, she styles it so well. Like combining law, which obviously her stylist, but also her makeup team. So good. Her makeup artist came up on my TikTok the other day. Yes. The most recent look when she was wearing the Schiaparelli. Yes. She does J-Lo and stuff like that. He's incredible. But to see kind of how it all comes to life, I'm a bit like, oh I like seeing what has kind of been taken off the runway and curated into an entire work same oh my gosh do we have favourites do we have favourites Schiaparelli yeah straight off the runway that video of him in the truck yeah and he's like it's gotta get straight into the truck guys we've gotta go we've got the premiere literally didn't they private jet it to her I think they did they had to career it literally immediately I love Laura she's just shopping on the station that one and then the most recent one yeah with the angel wings yeah I really like jaw on the floor I feel like it was cool to see how kind of, I suppose, in relate, like in relative terms to her Odyssey press tour, seeing the Spider-Man one, she was obviously kind of low key.

11:03It was a much more kind of, you know, relaxed film in the sense that, you know, what you're getting kind of thing. Watching her kind of the difference in her dressing. I'm not going to say that the Odyssey is necessarily better, but it's just slightly bolder. Yeah, it's more kind of creative, isn't it? Exactly. It's cool to see that she really can do it all. Oh, yeah. The Alexander McQueen one. Oh, my gosh. and the whole thing like again with the method dressing like with the whole golden fleece thing and that ties into the Greek mythology I was just like Law Roach is mine like unmatched have you heard that the internet's favourite F boy Harry Jalzi is looking for a wife of course he is but like he has a new girlfriend like every other week I know so he's apparently been filming this reality show called Let's Marry Harry guys I'm gonna be so honest if Harry Jalzi this geezer walked past me in the street can tell you no oh my god Did you not watch Too Hot to Handle?

11:53I don't think I watched it, no. You need to go watch it. He was on like the first season of that. So Too Hot to Handle is one of Netflix's reality shows a couple of years ago. Oh my God, it's a reality guy. Yeah. Oh, yes. That show, basically, the people, the contestants are not allowed to get intimate or else they lose money. Harry Jowsey. Did not care. Literally did not care. He just got really intimate. He was just like, let's go. I'm here for vibes. And also they're not told that when they get, like before you get on the show, they're not told. they're told it's a fake reality TV show and then they arrive and they're like surprise guys here's the rules so all the people on there are always like oh my gosh what?

12:32so that's why Harry Jowsey came about so he was on the very first season of that show and since then he's been on a couple of days he's been on Perfect Match which is Netflix's like Netflix Universe reality show they take a bunch of people from different Netflix reality shows sorry the fact that Netflix is becoming like Marvel I know it's a different universe I'm actually like deep into this. I love Perfect Match because it's so silly. But basically they take people from like Love is Blind, Love is Blind UK, different countries, Too Hot to Handle. Like whatever else is on there, all the reality shows.

13:02What's the ultimatum, yeah. And then they put them all in a villa kind of and they have to like match up and stuff like that. It's called Perfect Match. So Harry Dowsy was also on that. So he coupled up with Jess from Love is Blind and then also I remember he also dated Georgia Hazerati. Yeah. He was also on Too Hot to Handle at some point. so now this new show Let's Marry Harry I think he's dating 20 different women I'm sorry he's made a show of this so this is his new reality show called Let's Marry Harry and him trying to settle down and they're bringing in his friends and confidants to help judge it and one of them is his ex Georgia Hazarani no so imagine your ex helping you she's a judge like a good god this feels very twisted makes a great TV yeah right I don't know if it's exactly judge is the word but it's like panel if that makes sense so yeah Yeah, so she's like on the panel.

13:49I mean, crazy, I suppose, kind of for the girls going on it to be judged like that. But I mean, it makes for great TV, I guess. I think the format, they're kind of going for like a Bachelor format. Fine. So like different dates and stuff like that. Yeah. Which I think is going to be interesting. Isn't Alex Cooper involved in some of that? Alex Cooper is hosting it, I believe. Oh, is he? Because he has his podcast under Unwell. And her company, yeah. So I'd assumed Alex Cooper was involved somehow. Right. Yeah, she's like, let me get like a slice of that cake. You need a cut there. I love her. Wow.

14:16do we actually think he will find a wife no no i don't think he'll ever settle down he gives the vibe of like someone that just wants to mess around exactly it'll be good tv i feel like that's a testament to like anybody who really comes off the back of reality of reality tv and wants to do well you have to almost reinvent a new character oh yeah and recently he has been kind of been on the love kit because when he was on perfect match his whole thing was like i'm on you because i really want to find like the girl for me and obviously that did not work out well that's so interesting to me because when he came out of too hot to handle he was on an interview and basically said that he had made this whole plan about like what he was going to do going into this wherever he didn't know what it was obviously the tv show with this game plan of who he's going to be and like the type of character he's going to play because yeah he wanted to be like known and get recognized from this so like surely if he's now going on all these other things him saying oh I want to find this like it's so unbelievable it's like if you had a game plan for the first one you probably know you want to keep staying relevant I think this is such an interesting conversation and I think there are two kind of I suppose kind of maybe it's more men I don't know if this applies to women too but kind of within the current media landscape of today there are two very different kind of pools of people, I would say.

15:35So interestingly, obviously, we've got the World Cup going on and stuff like that. And I think Haaland is going viral just for being and for being himself. Yeah, he's so funny. At all moments of the day, very wholesome. Like people just find him really funny because he really is himself. And I think within that same bracket, you've got like the Tom Hollands of the world again, just really like sweet. Like what the way he said, like he kept saying crass on instead of crass on. Like people are like, we love him. like very much like effortless being themselves yeah but then you kind of have the older kind of more performative characters and you just think like which one is gonna kind of have a longer longevity yeah yes that's it like the longevity do you go and like you are just awesome yeah you're effortless that sort of thing or actually is that still not enough and it is the kind of performative pathway what do you think will last the people who are just themselves yeah i think at the end of the day i feel like you build an authentic audience whereas for people who have to feel like they keep having to like get involved in a drama or like reinvent themselves people do get to a point i feel like i mean i do when i watch creators like this where i'm like this is enough like i'm tired of all like you don't actually know who this person is so it's kind of hard to connect with them yeah that's true you get kind of like that apathy don't you get bored of seeing it too much when it's like people are constantly involving themselves in like useless drama like what's the point anymore like people see through it yeah yeah and i think that's while you're right like the wholesome the wholesome will always prevail yeah let's say that effortless it might take a bit longer yeah maybe that's actually like the way of doing it if you exactly yeah you have to be pure of heart guys and also sometimes i just think it's surely it's so exhausting for those people to think of a game plan oh yeah so many different scenarios i just think that must be the most exhausting thing to do i suppose it is like when they make it into like a full business yeah so it becomes work yeah yeah definitely that is crazy to think speaking of harland though did you are you do either of you have on snapchat oh my god no wait what is his snapchat i don't know but you know when sometimes snapchat comes up with like suggestions yes it does it's just his story and it's like him and his like hotel room and he's like guys it's so hot oh he's like he's like such a girl that's a very much like bts like he doesn't care what he's saying just pulls his phone out and he's like chatting to his mates he's absolutely like hilarious yeah have you seen the thing where somebody said are you a boy or a girl and he says well my mom is a woman and my dad is a man so i'm mixed and he was like and can we talk about his bag collection oh my god and i can't honestly i'm loving it he's got like his own kind of taste and preference but like doesn't make that his whole life yeah yeah exactly like i've been loving the photos of him just with like holding a massive bag he is very into his fashion yeah did you see him photograph yesterday with his girlfriend obviously norway were knocked out but by England.

18:22And so he's like obviously back with his missus. They're in Sicily. Guys, his outfit was like high fashion but I'm talking SL Man. Wow. Get Erling Haaland on SL Man. There we go. Come on in. I love that. And then also give us your slip back routine please. Yeah. But speaking of things like the World Cup and we've kind of got all of these, we've had Wimbledon, we've had, you know, the F1 has been a sporting summer and I think although, you know, it's infiltrated all of like social media in different ways, the brands are everywhere I think with kind of this really like short-term moments let's say that are happening and they're really creating PR moments more than ever before my favorite one I've seen was the ranch packets at the TSA I find that absolutely hilarious so I didn't see this basically Europeans are all in the US yeah and I'm loving the content of them like trying really rogue American foods yeah so Europeans have discovered ranch which is like a condiment like ranch dressing which isn't really that big of a thing i guess here a lot of europeans are wanting to take it back and they're taking back full-size bottles and tsa at the airport is being like hey that's over 100 mil yeah you can't take it so hidden valley ranch has started selling little individualized ranch packets in airports but they're selling like full bags of it so they're just a bunch of little packets so it equates to a full bottle but obviously you can't just bring a full bottle so it's all these separate little packets honestly so clever the source brands are kind of on it like Heinz they kind of launched penalty packets so obviously yellow card being their mustard and then red card being ketchup and it's quite cool to see that sort of thing that's hilarious I just think it's kind of I suppose the evolution of what's happening now did you see Stella Artois at Wimbledon they launched so Stella Artois launched a strawberry and cream flavored beer that is crazy to me that's not a bit of money wild but it got people talking yeah I mean it's smart especially for Wimbledon like that's genius would any of you try it I suppose if like me and Jay were like sat chilling and we were gonna watch Wimbledon I'd be like oh should we try it for a laugh so kind of I understand why they're doing it because yeah the era of like testing things when you know when little moons kicked off and it becomes it became such a big thing because you've got all the content creators at Wimbledon so I saw so many videos of people like come with me to try yeah the strawberries and cream yeah that is very like I would try it just for the sake of saying i tried it me too yeah but i probably wouldn't drink a whole bottle i agree but i also think brand personality so i think it does make a brand so much more likable when they lean into things which is stellar in turn obviously when you buy things it's all psychological and so prime example marmite is obviously called my marmite obviously you love it or you hate it yeah but during the world cup they rebranded to we might as if we might win we might bring it home that kind of thing and it's quite wholesome and you know when you see things like that it does kind of release that chemical and you're like yeah i agree like that's funny that's cool and actually from a brand perspective you do actually think i am more inclined to buy it because it feels friendlier doesn't it or like that's true even if you don't buy it you're sharing it on social media exactly like the repost exposure is yeah yeah interesting but kind of around that topic of like marketing and consumerism i'm not sure if you guys saw this tiktok it went quite viral and she's actually not a massive creator but she speaks a lot about money and marketing and basically how to make money and keep it and she basically said how gen z which is what we're all part of now we are like kind of the biggest victims of this aesthetic consumerism so where we value aesthetics so highly that we're basically losing all our money to it so instead of being kind of okay and happy with a 10 pound water bottle we actually want to upgrade for a 60 pound really fancy stone because it looks like that why do we do that and Why are we so willing to kind of flush away so much money on it?

22:02I think it's a lifestyle. Yeah, I think it's a lifestyle. I think it's that, I think because we're so in that age of social media where people want to share things and like share what they're buying and stuff. Like, you're going to obviously want to buy something that looks cool to show people that I bought this cooler thing rather than like... The basic. I don't know. The way that it works in my brain is like, I wouldn't share a picture of a£10 water bottle if it didn't look cute. Fair enough. Whereas like more expensive one, I mean, it didn't even have to be more expensive for me. It could just be cooler.

22:33Yeah, like a nicer little bit. I don't know. I don't know why that is. I think something switched in our thing where we're all sharing so much, more than like any of our parents would and that sort of stuff that there is almost like, sometimes I feel a little bit of pressure to like wear cool things, buy cool things, like picture cool things, you know? Yeah. I saw a very similar video as well that was talking specifically about this even affects women so much more. these when things are marketed to us they're marketing the aesthetic the lifestyle while for men you're marketed the owning something versus for women it's marketing being part of something yeah so for example if you look at like i guess like water bottles yoga sets or even like labubus itself like that entire craze like why were we buying those because you could picture it exactly and it was like kind of selling a lifestyle and that's what she says she and it's interesting that you mentioned social media because i thought that's where she was going with it she doesn't say that she actually says it's because and i suppose without saying it she obviously was appealing more to the female gaze but she's quite right in that we like to romanticize our lives and it's kind of as you said angelina like the whole lifestyle element of it where it's we all kind of excuse that behavior as a sweet treat yeah and it's like yeah do you think it is something to do with the fact that certain things that our parents had are no longer options for us for example buying a house and saving yeah you know it's so far out of the tax bracket now for so many of us that it's kind of like well you know if i can't afford it now what's the point in saving yeah i'm not going to be able to afford a house so i might as well buy the coffee or go on that holiday yeah it's like small wins but i suppose it's that mindset of how far do you take those small wins yeah yes like sometimes i do picture myself i'm like okay i do have like 12 gym kits that look exactly like this do i need to spend so much more and i suppose it's hard isn't it because it's almost like mood dependent yeah where like some days you really do feel that like no no I'm gonna be so good today like you know I've made my lunch and I've done this and other days you're like oh I need a treat and then it's even like retail therapy that entire idea of it like that's just to make yourself feel better I suppose the only solution you have is to kind of keep it in check consider like actually kind of why am I doing this is it to share is it because like I'm feeling like a void or something.

24:43And then I suppose, yeah, as we say, like kind of weighing it up and thinking, actually, do I really need it? And if, you know, if it's going to bring me that amount of happiness, go for it. Exactly. Maybe not go for it. Yeah. I saw a creator the other day, I think it was Jackie, I know. She said, if you can't afford three of it, don't buy it. Yeah, fair. And that is actually a really good way to think about it. We're not really particularly financially literate as a generation. No, we're not, guys. We're like, we should work on as a generation. Speaking of financial literacy, though, there's that girl on tiktok mia is her name mia mcgrath yeah i love her like she's good like everyone needs to follow her she's very clever for context yeah she kind of what would you say she does she's um like a financial yeah she's like a business and kind of finance content girl isn't she where she guides and yeah she makes it understandable like it's not a whole lot of like you need to do this this and this she explains the reason why and i think the reason she actually got famous is because she was eating like beans and rice or something like that for weeks on end and she saved years if anything she saved hundreds of thousands of pounds that she saved and obviously yes that was a one-off but i think she was trying to explain to us actually sometimes being frugal yeah in the short term kind of does pay off totally yeah it's actually so refreshing to hear her speak about it and investing and making finance actually a bit more simpler and easier to understanding support.

26:02But also not dumbing it down. Exactly. Which is so important. Yeah. You don't feel like intimidated if you're like she's taking the mick. Yeah, totally. Great. That's great. Hey, it's Christy from Lululemon. I'm here at the office, and we just dropped some really fun new summer colors in the Flow Y styles. If you're like me, you've loved the Flow Y tank and bra for years. And as of this year, it also comes in a dress and a crop tank. These are made in our buttery soft Nulu fabric. And my favorite part is the built-in bra. It makes it super easy to wear for yoga or honestly as an everyday basic.

27:04You can find Flow Y Styles in store or online at lululemon.com.

27:14Right, lovely yap. Shall we get into a few things we're loving? But before we do that, to everybody listening and watching, please subscribe, please follow, like, comment, because we love to yap and that really helps us out. And then we know what to yap about. Yes, love it. What have we been watching, listening to, loving? What's been going on? Okay, this is an ultra. I've been binge watching The O.C. Oh my God, great. It's such like a summer show. Like I started watching it, I think in like June. Because I was like, oh, it's summer. I have to watch a summery show. And The O.C., I'm on the fourth season now, like the final.

27:45It's a 2000s teen drama. And it's set in Newport Beach area, like Orange County, California. And it follows one, a kid who comes from a bit more of a poorer area. He's had a bit of a hard life and he gets in trouble. And his lawyer takes him in to his house in Newport with his son and his wife and his family. And he joins their whole like Newport fancy lifestyle. And he falls in love with the next door neighbor girl, Marissa. And long story short, this entire show unfolds. It is actually insane. Like now I think about some of the things that happened on like 2000 teen dramas. I was like, they were doing everything.

28:20But you know what? I realized, I know of VOC. I feel like I've seen clips. I've never watched, like sat to watch it properly. I feel like now you've reminded me that that's like the thing i'm like yeah wholesome i love it i think it's very good like 2000 summer okay specifically the i mean the character summer robert yeah literally such cute style i'm obsessed for that like she has this cute outfit where it's like white linen-y looking like capris and then like this purple holter top and like a little white lace scarf in her hair and i'm like i would wear but i would also wear that now yeah cute what have you been watching through um mine is not quite as wholesome as that the only thing that i've actually had time to watch recently i've still not finished it the michael jackson documentary oh so the documentary on netflix now it's the first time that the body cam footage of the officers that kind of went into neverland to arrest him got released so that was included my god guys the way that the documentary's been done they've got the actual family lawyer to speak so it just feels a slightly more trustworthy yeah and it feels like they've got a little bit more kind of behind them to kind of validate some of the claims but i would say listen if you've got a spare few hours it's quite gripping the other thing that i've been loving like you mentioned earlier this necklace that i'm wearing right now yes it's from a brand called vixi v-i-x double i and it's like kind of a new brand on the scene in the uk it's a british brand but it's kind of inspired by indian jewelry and it is the first lab grown polky diamonds polky diamonds are what a lot of indian jewelry is made from it's just a style of diamond obviously these are lab grown but there are so many different variations that the brand has come out with all on like different cords different colors different enamels and i thought actually it's a really different type of jewelry which i really really like like so much more colorful it really does blend a little bit more of that kind of culture and heritage into jewelry it's not just like another silver chain like ethics and stuff yeah exactly not just like another gold chain also a really nice gift most things are kind of under 200 under 300 so i was actually for like a good gift when you're like a little bit older maybe you've got like your sister or somebody graduating a really nice like meaningful gift yeah and yeah so brand discovery what about you harry i know some of the girls actually wear it in the office but many many clothes oh yeah yes they have this like really cute gingham red like mini dress and it's got it's like got white lace almost like like detail around the edge it's so like um like wholesome yeah so cute going to a picnic yeah oh it's just such a cute pretty dress and it's an independent business which is hard sometimes to find in London and it's female founded as well yeah it's really um and then what else am I loving this lip gloss that I've been wearing to death from Kiko Cosmetics it's a 3D Hydra like lip gloss in shade 32 I think I wear and it's just like it has the perfect amount of pigment it's also a bit shiny I love that as you're saying yeah I'm like like as if we're like flying gorgeous um and I just love the shade like this is like my perfect shade like a bit of a little bit purpley yeah also pinky easy my thing is like the easiest thing is when you can put your lip balm on without looking yeah a lip balm that you don't need to look at agreed I've kind of been leaning a bit more into like clears because I've been switching up my lip combo a bit so right now I'm just doing like brown lip liner which is MAC Chestnut my go-to but I discovered Bedouin's Daughter they have amazing lip colours I think the Sweet Talk lip balm it's like really high shine really glossy and it's got a metal applicator which I think is really nice like it just goes on so smoothly so I've just been using that as like a clear gloss and then another beauty thing i've been loving is the gisu leave-in conditioner spray okay i'm obsessed with it it smells fantastic they've done so well as a brand to watch their growth oh it's amazing and right now i have boho braids which are sometimes really hard to maintain and it's actually made it really easy i just spray it in because normally i'm mixing leave-in conditioner and water right so now i can just do the water and then i keep that it's a cute little small bottle so i can keep it in my purse at work and i just spray it and again it's kind of like a perfume smells amazing I love that my last one will be everyone is doing like lip blushes or like cheek blush it's the kind of area yeah a very like soft that kind of ethereal glam and Huda Beauty and Hourglass have both launched like kind of um lip blushes like and actually I use them both interchangeably because they are again really easy to apply like without looking yeah the Huda Beauty ones have such a good range of colors and they're very much like high pigment that sort of thing easy to go on and the hourglass ones roll on feel like a bomb which is my favourite thing because it doesn't feel like you're wearing anything but even so you know when your lips aren't like begging for a gloss and you can actually go about your day comfortable without being like my lips are so dry that feeling is unbeatable in a heatwave yes definitely is and loving a lip blush right now that's nice yeah that really cloud diffused lip look it's so easy it's very like French girl yeah minimal makeup yeah I love it also your diamonds reminded me of there's a have you heard of the brand zoe and co yes also another female founded brand really cool brand so cool they have like this choker necklace with like one little like diamond i think i've seen the one that you're on about it's like really like a cover statement piece but a minimalist statement yeah yeah and just like i just imagine that with like a really plain top and jeans and then you're just like boom it kind of is like 90s rom-com whether you have like a black oh my god yellow white just simple satin gown and like that piece of jewelry i love that there's a lot of like cool like fun little like jewelry trends or like accessory trends out there right now i'm really loving i don't know if you guys have seen this but they're all over my socials the jelly firkin bags oh my gosh i want like an aqua blue one right now there's this brand called azure studios and i discovered it because sofa dofa has one of theirs that's also where i saw an aqua blue like it's a massive and it just looks so fun i just think it's like quite an experimental yeah i know it's like and like it's fun it's kind of translucent and i'm imagining it with like a bunch of bag charms as well.

34:06Yeah. And just chuck whatever you need. And they are like massive or you can get a bit more of a medium one. Yeah. I feel like the bigger the bag, like it just makes a statement. It's like cool, like maximal, like, oh God, like summer girls don't really care. Simple outfit, big ass bag. Yeah. And it's also just that fabric where you can just like do anything to it and it's not going to get damaged. Yeah. Because it's a thick PVC. Surely it's waterproof as well. Yeah. Like it's the perfect bag. You just chuck it anywhere. In the shape of it. So I really want a jelly firkin, guys. It's gorgeous.

34:32I'm going to have a look at one. I love anything jelly so far. I think I was like, I love anything jelly. You'll like a yellow one as well. And then they've got a hot pink, which I do like. Yeah, the hot pink's really good. But I think if I do get one, it will definitely be like the teal. I'm loving that color right now, like the aqua blue. Yeah. Aquamarine summer, guys. True. I love the reboot, so why not? Oh, yeah. Well, ladies, this has been a lovely, lovely yacht, but be sure to tune in next week for the next episode. Yeah. Thanks, guys. Thanks. Bye.
