0:29welcome welcome thanks so much for being here this is actually we were just saying this is our first luxgen and sheer lux podcast live we've done a few in the office but this is our first one together this is the first combo so thanks so much for being here we're going to be giving you all of our usual podcast chat we're going to kick off with what everyone is wearing which is what we always start with so daisy okay i've gone for a bit of tailoring this evening i've got this set is actually new in at zara um paired with a h &m boot i feel like we've really got the like tailoring memo yeah it's like what are you wearing later suit yeah it's an easy go-to isn't it yeah mine's

1:07Daisy:a maybe suit this is the uniqlo heat tech which is quite warm it's cold out there but warm in here and H &M boots. Nice. What about you, Sat? I am wearing an ASOS blazer and then some What The Brand trousers and some Topshop heels. I've gone very high street today.

1:28We're going to kick off with probably our favourite segment, which is celebrity and hot topics. Has anyone seen all the hype around Wuthering Heights at the moment? Yeah, same. So I feel like when these big movies happen, sort of like with Barbie it's just takes over your entire for you page and we have been loving the fashion I mean Jacob Margot Charlie who's your like what your favorite looks been mine for

1:53Daisy:Jacob so far has been his red jacket I love love love that it's so cool and obviously the green suit was pretty yeah iconic but also the Chanel jacket did you see he wore the so it was like off the runway I think it is a woman's jacket he looks so good in it I mean he's pretty happy I mean, you can't go wrong with him. If you look like him, you can't go wrong. But then also, apparently Michelle Obama also wore it. And there was like all these side-by-sides like who wore it better. Who did wear it better. And a moment for Margot's duster coat with the red stockings. Oh my God. She looks amazing.

2:24And then like the big, big voluminous dress with the red, which kind of like blended into the carpet. How about Charlie XCX as well? She's been absolutely everywhere. Obviously, she's also doing her press for The Moment, which is her movie coming out. Next week. Next week. And also Wuthering Heights, she's the soundtrack. I mean have you had a listen only the one that's in the in the trailer have you listened yeah it sounds good is it really good I actually kind of

2:48Daisy:enjoy the whole lead up to these films yeah obviously I love the films too but like I get really invested because of the press doors but I feel like that's what gives you the hype and like I mean I would have wanted to watch it anyway but it made me want to be like oh my god I want to know what they're wearing everything but with Charlie as well have you seen all the videos of her this week of like with her assistant they've had this whole thing about how she doesn't smile and she's like, yeah, my assistant's teaching me how to smile. Do you know what? I can see that. Yeah. I just feel like we don't get much of her personality.

3:16We've obviously had the whole like brat era of her and it's quite nice seeing a bit of like a softer side to her. Like you were saying earlier, like she's such a lover. Yeah, she is a lover. She loves a bit of like love. I don't see her as that. She's like that

3:30Daisy:like party girl. She's becoming more Tay-Tay. I suppose. Oh. Which leads us on very nicely. Have you guys seen the new Taylor Swift music video? look guys have you not to be fair i've only i've only watched like a snippet of it is it like six minutes long it is quite long i mean in true taylor form it's a feature film do you know actually what i took away from it it made me think of saturn and do you know why it was giving only child in the start of it yeah she's got a rock friend is that what you put you and i was like oh this is so saturn do you know what though she is a genius storyteller because all the swifties were unpicking the actual story behind it.

4:06Well, that's with all of her music. That's what makes it so exciting. But there was this one video where someone stood up, a Swifty, was explaining it on a TV screen to their friends and they were going deep. I don't even know if it's that literal. She always says with her stuff, anything that she does, music videos, music, you can kind of like dip into it in different levels. You can just surface level, enjoy the music, enjoy the vibes, exactly. Or you can go like Marvel level and like read into all these. Which I'm kind of good at that. I'm like in the middle somewhere. But the music video, what I loved about it was, so did any of you guys see she was on Graham Norton a couple of weeks ago?

4:42And she was on with quite a few people. And who was it? Donald Gleeson?

4:47Daisy:Yeah. Yeah. So they were like having a bit of a joke about how like he really wants to be in the music video and stuff. Like go forward like five months and every single person on the sofa was in the music video. Cillian Murphy. But you could see on Graham Norton just how her brain was like she was like like she had that like spark yeah and how does she turn that around it was a matter of months i know i don't she i mean the devil works fast but taylor works hard yeah um another big thing that came out in the last couple of weeks is the new blair waldorf spin-off they are allegedly coming out with a prequel so it's before what we've seen so maybe it's her as a child i think they're going to write a book first and then turn it into a tv show okay but it's waiting a while yeah i think i think it'll be quite well but it got us thinking about all the like other prequels and spin-offs and things like you like what do you guys actually like that's happened in terms of spin-offs because it's really hard to get right that is quite a good question i'm not sure there's anything i actually madly love that's a spin-off or something actually i do like is it called queen charlotte oh yeah i do really like that I would like to see Glee reimagined Glee?

5:58Daisy:yeah what more could they do? I was obsessed with Glee were you? you're a super fan? not a super fan but like it's just so joyful yeah I'd like that to come back yeah fair Daisy okay one thing you need to know about Daisy she watches a lot of TV now TikTok now but every time we say have you watched this? have you watched Gossip Girl? have you watched Harry Potter? have you? no no no yeah you haven't watched Titanic have you? there must be someone out there I've watched Titanic oh come on don't be put I was out there climbing trees and you know but yeah so Gossip Girl I'm not on board with but I've seen young Sherlock is coming out the end of the month which is oh yeah with Hero yeah with Hero and that looks amazing set in Oxford University it's like Sherlock Holmes as a sort of a young boy so I'm looking forward to that I do like that kind of thing yeah Devil Wears Prada oh yeah yeah I mean I feel like we've been talking about it for a really long time but it's literally about to come out it's about to come out yeah And hopefully the press tour for that will be just as exciting.

6:55I feel like they've been doing it, though. Like, they've been, like, peppering it throughout, like, fashion weeks and having them, like, spotted there. But I think that's actually part of the movie.

7:03Daisy:Yeah, like the filming. When they filmed that, Dr. Gabbana. And I also think, you know how we saw so much of the outfits and everything, like, paparazzi shots? Maybe they're not real. Like, maybe they're just trying to, like, throw us off. No, they're definitely real. Do they? Yeah. I just feel like they've given too much away. It's just the hype about it. Do you think? Yeah. Oh, no. I feel like there'll be so much more that we've not seen, like outfit-wise. I hope so, because otherwise I've seen the whole bloody movie. There'll definitely be more outfits, yeah, yeah, for sure. I'm excited for that.

7:32Daisy:Lots to come. Okay, these two are not on the fourth wing hype, but please tell me that someone here has read fourth wing. Okay, thank you. There we go. Great. If you haven't, you must. It's very good. But basically, they've also come out, I think it was literally last week or the week before, that they have signed on to actually make it a TV show. I think with like ACOTAR and those other like fairy these are the fairy soft books I've read one sexy fairy book wait which one on holiday I don't know it was red cover ACOTAR how did you read but it wasn't actually very sexy I don't think the first episode has a lot of what do you mean it does didn't seem very sexy to me no it's not yeah we're too lowbrow but it's very good keep reading okay but fourth wing's really good and basically they've signed on for a TV show with Michael B.

8:19Jordan's production company which is interesting um and with all of these books i think because they're so just like the attention to detail and like the world building it's so specific that real fans are obviously like scared that it's not going to live up to the hype because who are they going to cast are they like two main characters yeah well there's a few but yeah there's two main main characters and everyone's saying who it's going to be but i think they will go for people who are a little bit more under the radar because you've got to think it's like a harry potter where there's three four books and you've got to sustain that and that could be their career now yeah like the next 10 years so i think michael b jordan that could be really good though yeah i think so and also apparently the showrunners for wednesday which is obviously netflix they are apparently involved as well so that actually gives me like a bit of hope like the production will be good yeah if you're enjoying this podcast please make sure you subscribe it really really helps us out

10:34yeah they're good zero zero two did you say yours sorry yeah 101 101 and the matching lip liner but yeah make sure you properly try them out because there's so many shades in your bag and actually so you'll see there's like this colour which is the kind of greyish brownie one, these are matte and then you've got the pink ones which are serum, yeah but they've all got this like really lovely serum to them and£8.99, like that is actually insane, like Maybelline has just been nailing it for years, it's one of those iconic brands that just have all of the best products, like you guys must have like other Maybelline products that you've used for years.

11:11Daisy:go is the instant eraser concealer with the little cushiony top. Actually, everyone's used that. So good. You whip that out in the office every day. I mean, I do my makeup a lot in the office. It's like an ongoing joke. My is known. It gets to two o 'clock and she's like, right, back. She has a little top-up moment. It sort of turns into like a Mexican wave. Like, people start thinking something's about to happen, so the table will start doing them. I have seen that. Honestly, you really, I'm like, oh, maybe I should redo my lip. Maybe I need a little top-up. We've filmed a lot at work. be looking your best there's definitely a content in there's some content in that definitely yeah but that is a very good it's so good it's very brightening under your eyes amazing covering dark circles really good to like brighten the middle of your face as well not just use as a concealer love it and i also feel like what maybelline does so well is the range of shades like with that um concealer but also this product there's about 16 shades or something like that which is amazing um daisy i know what your favorite sky high mascara and in brown guys for a blonde yeah i I like brown mascara.

12:05Yeah, brown mascara. I am fully converted. Yeah. But yeah, I have the black as well, but it is brilliant. Yeah, it's good. Love that. I mean, also with Valentine's Day coming up, we have, I've got to say, it's past the kiss test. Have you guys tried it? Yes. Guys, I'm trying to be more Hodge. You guys know Hodge in our office. Right, she's been going on about how she's basically snogging her husband a lot more. And it's like this thing that she's doing, like when they're watching telly in the breaks, they're just having a snog.

12:32Daisy:I just can't imagine doing that to myself I love it I love it I think Cam would be like get off me you weirdo I went home and I told Ryan he was like here we go but since I've been kissing a lot more I've tested it and it works it stays on so well done let's actually dip back slightly to celeb chat because we've got to talk about Miley Cyrus she is having such a moment and she's obviously a Maybelline ambassador and her look at the Grammys was so good. I mean, the fashion was amazing. But the makeup, it's becoming so much more of a thing, isn't it? Yeah. The red carpet makeup and the way it looks.

13:12Daisy:Matching your makeup to your outfit type of thing. Yeah, definitely. But she's definitely, like, I keep saying she's coming back. She's never been gone. No, but she is back with a bang this year. She's fierce, isn't she? I mean, the Hannah Montana thing. Hannah Montana revival. Is that like a rumor? 20th anniversary. No, she fully confirmed it. It's in March. Oh, it is? It is, yeah, yeah. We've had like calendars much. She said it on a podcast. But will it be very different? I don't know. Do you know what? I've noticed she's going a bit blonder. She's got bangs. Maybe she's bringing back. But also the makeup.

13:41Like she's going back to her like Hannah, Miley kind of like quite natural makeup vibe. Like she had the lippy on. She had like a really subtle lash. I think it was Sky High actually. It was, yeah. She had like, yeah, it looked really good.

We're now going to move on. shall we move on to the other things we're loving do you know mine's kind of a bit random but it goes off of um another thing that everyone laughs at me actually loves for um i don't listen to headphones music it's like a known thing yes but instead of like sitting there in silence like on the tube or if i'm at my desk i've been using loop earplugs oh yeah and they're quite good so they don't like block out that you have different loop earplugs for different reasons like you can wear some to bed that are completely noise cancelling but they've got a really good switch one which you basically put in your ear and it sort of it drowns the noise out and i just like sitting with my own thoughts and you are very good in your own thoughts it makes you go deep inside yourself i just can't because there's no distractions but are your thoughts like quite organized because i know that too many things mine is running through like to-do lists okay what should i do when i get to the office so you put these in on your commute and it just drowns everything out yeah or in the office like to focus okay what about you daisy i am loving the cashmere scarves at the moment i feel like yeah everyone's adding them to their look yeah they're they're just gorgeous there's you can get small sort of medium size you mean the sort of like yeah the bandana the bandana ones it's not like a typical like the cashmere it's like a specific look is like a bandana print yeah yeah just paired with a paired with some tailoring or something like that also a bit of food yeah you and I M &S M &S is just always popping up shortbread tea I can't stop going on about it every day I have a little shortbread tea no you know the thing that I tried yesterday that Charlotte had and she literally would not share she gave me one and now I'm like okay I need to buy my own was the pistachios chocolate covered pistachios chocolate covered pistachios from M &S they are incredible that does sound good like really salty but like really good chocolate ooh yum yeah I'd be into that another foodie thing actually we had this all last week I don't know you might not have been there I actually probably can't eat them I'm a celiac I know but um So, I know.

15:52Shame. There's a few of us. Nat came in last week, who is someone who works with us. She's one of our contributors. And she made these little, like, canapes for us all. And it was this, like, cracker with a chunk of Parmesan cheese, peanut butter, random, and then this, like, amazing chili oil. It's the white marshy one. Yes, really good. Yeah. It was a smoky flavor. Was it the peanut chili or just the chili oil? No, it was smoky. Because there's the peanut ryu, which was really good, but this was the smoky. And it was insane. That combo together. With peanut butter. Honestly, you just have to try it.

16:21I know it sounds ridiculously weird, but it was just so right. I think it actually sounds pretty good. It was really good. It was like the creamy, salty.

16:29Daisy:I don't think I was there, but there was also dark chocolate and blue cheese. Is that right? I couldn't. That was too far for me. Did you try it? I don't do blue cheese. I can't. Why don't you do blue cheese? It's too funky for me. It's good. I love a bit of blue cheese. Do you? Sprinkled on like a tray bake. Oh, yum. Oh, on a tray. That's really quite fun. Okay. I just like chunks of it. Maybe I need to try. But I think that's actually the end of our chat. Maya, you've actually not reapplied your lipstick once a day. Like we were saying before, Maya likes a little reapply, but I think it just is testament to how good the staying power of this is.

16:58I've been drinking champagne. I've been doing all sorts of things and it stayed. So definitely try out your lipsticks and let us know what you think because we are very, very big fans.

Yeah, I'd say I'm quite enjoying animal print. Yeah. I've got some animal print trousers in my basket. Have you? What kind of animal? Leopard. With some stripes down the side. With stripes, isn't it? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. That is quite funny. Like almost like a track pack. Oh, cool. From Hush.

18:06Oh, cool. Yeah. I just think that if your style is quite minimal, which I feel like most of us are, oh gosh, it's quite nice to put something with your outfit that just does a lot without actually having to do very much you do that so well with a pop of red I just love an accessory it just makes everything else you're doing a bit more even if it's a big earring easy styling

18:26Daisy:I'm actually very into woven bags now for like all year round I feel like this summer they had a moment but now they're dripping through from every price point obviously you can spend the bucks and get like a Bottega or something but you can go down to even like Katie Lockson's new woven bags are so so good um dragon diffusion obviously so i'm into the world yeah yeah i know what one for you specs oh yes i'm loving the specs yeah i have prescription i have i wear contact lenses every day but it's quite hard to keep those that prescription up when the styles are so good so i have a few blue light that i just throw in with an outfit but these are the specs i'm i'm loving at the moment it's just it's such a subtle thing but i feel like all of us in the office like we wear a lot of tailoring a lot of jumpers whatever and just having a good pair of specs just like changes you recently got a great pair i bet you know what h &m have some really good ones are specs just for glasses wearers or can we be going in the fashion vibes with them as well this is what i keep getting shit for on the office yeah so we both wear contacts yeah you know what i should wear contacts i just haven't i have one pair of prescription glasses that i don't wear i should wear but no to be fair for me it's it's mainly just i think it's a yay It's fashion.

19:37I think it is a yay, but it does blow my mind

19:39Daisy:how many designer ones you have. I've got one pair of designer ones. Okay, well, you did a little glasses tour on TikTok the other week, and they were a few. We called them in to show them, but they weren't online. I was like, wow, what's happening? I called them in from around the office. Put some prescription in these. I've got one pair that I've invested in that I actually want to put my prescription in, but the rest of mine are blue light. And I think 80 % of them are HDM because they have very good ones. Yeah, they do. But yeah, it's fashion. Yeah, it adds something. to the outfit. That's awesome.

20:07Daisy:But also it does make it way more acceptable for us glasses wearers now. Yeah. I feel confident to go out into the world. No, but like, I remember, there was two things when I was younger. With glasses, I think I faked my eye test when I was like 10. Because you wanted to wear them. Yeah, because all my friends had them and I was like, I want glasses. Yeah, that was a thing. Was that not a thing for you? Well, no, because I've worn glasses since I was about three years old. So I would do anything not to wear my glasses. I used to go on nights out because my mum wouldn't let me have contact lenses when I was like 16, 17.

20:34Daisy:so I would go on nights out without my glasses on and my friends would come find me because if they went too far off the dance floor I couldn't find me so I would just stay still in the corner of a nightclub waiting for someone to come pick me up okay I get what you like if you're a glasses wearer and you're seeing people wearing the fake glasses I understand that you're a bit like I was a naysayer at the start I was like come on this is a bit of a mess but it was like at school when you wanted crutches why did everyone want crutches I know. That's so true. No, I did it with braces. Braces? I remember going to the dentist and being like, I'd quite like some braces.

21:09They were like, go home. You don't need braces? It's wild that you want braces. Because everyone had them. Everyone had them. And this was a time when it wasn't an Invisalign vibe. It was like colourful. Like train tracks. Oh, yeah, people had equipment coming. Yeah, I didn't want that. I just wanted a couple pink sparkly somethings. Wow. Obviously, I didn't get them. No. They were like, go home. You got to choose the colour, didn't you? Yeah, it was a whole thing. I don't think I was ever that into the braces vibe.
