In short

LuxGen Group Chat episode featuring Millie Goldsmith discussing her book-writing process, chronically single dating, and pop-culture “debunks,” plus rapid-fire product and media recommendations.

Guest backgrounds

Millie Goldsmith is an author, content creator, and entrepreneur; she launched her brand Salt in April 2025 and wrote her book in three months (Sept–Dec 2025) with a ghostwriter from Penguin. The episode also references Harry Jowsey (reality TV) and campaigns/creators discussed by the hosts.

Key claims

Millie says she’s chronically single and felt compelled to speak about it because “no one really speaks about chronically single life.” Her book reached Sunday Times bestseller status in its first week. She lost about 20,000 followers while going MIA during writing. She says she doesn’t fear vulnerability and uses anonymity/timeline mismatch when dating men appear in content.

Notable examples

“Let’s Marry Harry” (Harry Jowsey whittles 30 engaged women down daily while sleeping/snogging and love-bombing); Virgin Airlines’ “Sofa Dofer Toasty” and Sydney Airport’s lack of gluten-free options; Salt and Stone campaign with Tucker; viral TikTok creator Ellie Ellis; Beatles biopic casting chatter; products like Tiger by the Tail jewelry, Cycle drink for cycle phases, and Bow Hydration water bottles.

0:46This week on the LuxGen Group Chat, we are joined by author, entrepreneur, and ultimate cool girl, Millie Goldsmith. Guys didn't go on another date with me because they were too scared that I was going to tell you. They thought they might be the content. We are talking about the creative campaigns that have broken the internet recently. Virgin Airlines have created a toasty called the Sofa Doe for Toasty. Stop it. That is brilliant. Yeah. The films and TV shows we're obsessed with. So he'll be like in the room with a girl snogging them and a girl will be like, I've come to interrupt. Yeah, so they'll be like, hi.

1:17Hi. My turn. My turn now. And then he's like, oh yeah, off you go. Oh my God, no, no, no. And then she'll get in and you're... It's a good one. Don't miss it. Welcome back to the LuxGen group chat. Hey. Lola and I are very excited this week to be joined by none other than Millie Goldsmith. Hi, Queens. Hi. So good to be here. It's brilliant to have you here. Is it what you imagine? The LG set? It's even better, actually. You really fit the vibe today. Do I? You are giving on brand today. But also quite Carrie Bradshaw. Yes. Well, I never wear pink. Like, this is a first for me. What? I never wear pink.

1:48It suits you. I quite enjoy it. I think it's because it's a neon. and it kind of, it's not like washing me out. Pops, your tan. I don't think that anyway, yeah. Thanks, girls. So those that are literally living under a rock, if you aren't aware who Millie is, I mean, I don't know how you wouldn't be aware, but Millie is content creator, business owner, entrepreneur, and now author. That is cool. And we've got the book on our coffee table. We do. Doesn't it look so good? Yeah, it does. She looks so great. Matches the sweets as well, I like that. So we're going to dive into everything. We want to hear, I mean, we've had you on Cafe Confessions, but we wanted to get you on the pod to just dig a bit deeper, find out a bit more.

2:21But should we kick off with what everyone's wearing? Yeah, Milly, you go first. So I'm wearing, well, actually, top-hand skirt is with Harpaloo. Nice. I think it's like an Aussie brand. And then shoes are just ASOS. Got a cute little wedge heel. They're really cool. Nice, they're like aquamarine. Really nice to walk in as well. And then bangles are just vintage. Lovely. I've gone quite wintry today. I love your look today, Loma. Thanks. Really cute. I'm just obsessed with ASOS, guys. it's ASOS like joggers with a nice little... But they're like three quarters. They're like three quarters. Yeah, jorts.

2:53Which I didn't think would ever suit me, but I went for it. This is also ASOS checkered shirt. Nice. Calvin Klein. Ooh, lovely. Jacket. ASOS jewellery. Mass mode. Can you call that a wedge? A baby wedge. A baby wedge. Is it a wedge? Is it a wedge? A kitten heel. It's like the tiniest heel you could possibly get on a shoe. What are you wearing, Davis? And the cutest Jimmy Fairly suspects. Which literally don't come off me. Yeah, they suit you. I have got on inspired by Polyseia the new Adidas plaid jacket with the shoulder pads it is so cool oh nice yeah actually so it feels a little bit more elevated than just a tracksuit set I have got the trousers but I thought that was slightly bold I've literally lived in these white Zara trousers I've been reminded every day that all I seem to wear is white since I got engaged but hey ho and my white ASOS kitten heels they've been a staple for you they have they need an uptake they're literally falling apart you've still got the sticker on the bottom have I I would still wear those like in winter, like you'll never see me without a flip-flop kit and heel.

3:49They're just so comfortable. So easy. I could never be a millennial in those massive wedges. I'm not, well clearly I'm in the world's biggest heel today. We need a little bit of something. Yeah. But Millie, take us back. We want to start with the book. Yeah. How long did it take you to write the book? Where did it come from? Obviously you've been documenting your thoughts, your notes, your literal life on socials, but take us back to the start. So yeah, wrote this book in three months, which - Also I think that's not normal. That is what. Like I still to this day laugh about it because I'm just like, I honestly don't know how I did that.

4:23Like I have ADHD. Also surely Salt was in the very early stages as well. Yeah. So yeah, I launched Salt in April last year, 2025. Started writing the book in September, 2025. What? And then finished the book in December. And then, and throughout all of that, I was still like launching Salt. we were still very much like peak of like building a business. So it was honestly the most hellish three months of my life like generally. And was that because you literally sort of got this, this opportunity sort of came towards you and you were like, I've got to say yes. Yes, Penguin reached out literally the same month that Salt had launched.

4:59So it was just like a weird timing. And they were like, yeah, like we'd love for you to write a book, we think it will be great at writing it. Like they, it was based off all of my journal entry videos, which was like you know one to two minute snippets of like my thoughts but they saw that and thought like we need to expand this into a book um and in my head I was always thinking like I would love to one day like write a book don't know what about but it will be something and obviously when that offer was brought to me on the table I just thought like I can't say no like when would I ever get this opportunity ever again epic and with penguin as well like it was just yeah crazy mega so yeah I just had to say yes I had to and do you always find writing came ease naturally to you like how How did you script your social posts?

5:40I find it really funny because at school I wouldn't class myself as a smart person who was good at English. Like I was pretty average. And my teachers always kept me at foundation level. So kept me at C's. And throughout all of my school years I was always determined to prove them wrong. And I did, I got A's, B's, whatever. But even then I still feel like in my head I'm not smart enough to write or write a book or do anything like this. So I definitely did have like imposter syndrome when I was writing it. But also when I was writing it, I just felt in such in like the flow. I really was like loving just finding, like I don't know, putting my thoughts to paper.

6:21And I feel like in this book, there's a lot of like theories that I've come up with. And when a theory works and it fits and when you get to the end of the chapter and it all comes together, oh my God, it's the most like satisfying thing ever. So did you write it from beginning to end or did you sort of write the chapters and put them together. Yeah, we kind of wrote it. So I had a ghostwriter with me who was helping me structure the whole book. She would then, yeah, we'd like work together on like the chapter titles, what we want to talk about. And then before every chapter, she would like give me a few questions to like explore.

6:53And then she would literally send me away and I'd go away and like literally write anything that I could think of. Just give it back. She would look at it, like maybe adjust some grammar, maybe like tell me to expand on a few things. Literally like my teacher. And then I'd just go back and forth with her. And it was generally like having a tutor with me. And we'd have Zoom calls every now and then. But honestly, I went weeks sometimes without not talking to her and just getting into the front writing. And did you, because it's obviously the one thing where your phone is not there, you're just pen, paper, you.

7:27Did you find you would be flow state at any hour of the day or you would be like, right, I'm gonna allocate this time? Well, because I had three months, I had no other option to, yeah, I had to write. Did you mean for that? Or was it like, you just got it all done? No, so Penguin were like, this is a three-month deadline. I think it's because the ghostwriter that I had was going on maternity leave. She was leaving in December, so she was like, you have three months. We've got to get going. Yeah, that was pretty much it. So I had no option but to write on the days I had to write. And so obviously when I couldn't find answers I wanted to find, or I wasn't like really in the flow.

8:01It was so frustrating because I was like, if I'm not going to do my 1 ,500 words today, I'm going to have to do it tomorrow. God, it's like being at you. Yeah, honestly. So like there were definitely weeks where I was so behind and like I was up until 2, 3 a.m. trying to finish a chapter. But I wrote the first half of it in New York, which was like so fun. That is good. Does New York now have the really special place in your heart? Oh my God, it's literally, every time I talk about it, I just, I love it so much. I literally love it so much. I will move there one day. Really? but yeah I just felt like writing the book in New York in the first half was just setting the scene helped me like romanticize writing and that is such a romanticization writing in New York this also feels like a film Millie yeah I know was there ever a time where you were like this would be great social content but I've got to keep it just for the book or yeah question all the time all the time I felt really hard like it was so hard for me to decide what to keep in the and what to use as a book teaser, but not giving anything away.

9:00But I feel like I got a good balance with it. I mean, I definitely went MIA on my post throughout writing the book. I was losing followers. I think I lost about 20 ,000 followers. Wow, just because you weren't able to keep up the cadence of your posts. It was really quite hard for me to just accept and just be like, it's fine, it doesn't matter. Something big is coming. Yeah, but I always found it really hard to balance social content book writing and building a business which also you know you I don't know your previous experience but this is no experience first brand you know you built you're sort of literally doing it as you go 100 % like I'm really learning as I go doing mistakes like every day and I'm not very good like I know I need to mess up to learn but I'm not good when I'm actually messing up in the moment like it gets really frustrating to me yeah yeah you take it out on yourself I take it out myself take it really personally but obviously like in hindsight like it all worked out really well.

9:53And like, thank God that, I just think the timing was so right, even though in the moment it didn't feel right, it really was so right. Like everything worked as it should have worked. And it's like, the book's doing so well now. So it's just going great. What are you ranking? So I was Sunday Times bestseller in the first week. What? So cool. Was this on your vision board? It was honestly like, when you write a book, obviously that's the top goal. Yeah, that's the goal. That's what you're gonna reach. So when I reached it in the first week, I was like, oh my gosh. But I also think you're such an example of someone that knows their audience so well that your audience, this is like, oh my God, this is more of you.

10:30This is more of an insight. This is like everything they'd have ever wanted to know and understand from you. So like it aligned so well. So I'm not surprised you had this huge wait list. And I think like it does make me laugh because I share so much online. And I did think at some point I was like, how is there more stuff for me to share? yeah like i'm sure i'm sure everything online now but then really there is so much more in that book that do you ever get nervous that people like actually know so much about your life and are like they're involved in like what yeah it does not faze me when you're vulnerable you're more human and you connect more so like the byproduct of being open and oversharing is just being able to connect to more people yeah and that like makes me feel safe and happy so i don't ever feel like like embarrassed.

11:13I mean obviously sometimes when like a guy that I've dated. Do you ever do that post it and just throw your phone? Yeah, all the time. All the time. I do that all the time. Honestly, honestly all the time. I actually have dents on my phone from doing it. Like it's so funny. And then you look back, but like half looking at it. Yeah, like with one eye open. Yeah. But yeah, sometimes like, oh my God, when my parents read the book, that was when I was embarrassed. Like, oh, that was the worst thing ever. But overall, like it's literally, I really don't care. And you've since released like little episodic.

11:41I'm obsessed with these. This is like Lola and I, this makes us excited like working in social. Oh my God, I love that. So the plan just to keep dropping a few chapters and. Yeah, so the plan was actually just to do the one video, which was like the book trailer. Yeah, I saw that. And that just blew up. Yeah, like whoa. I had it sitting in my camera for a month. Right, that was what I read. I wasn't gonna do anything with it. As if you were gonna sit on that. You were just debating posting it. Yeah, I honestly, Honestly, it was on a random Thursday night. I was like, I haven't posted in a while.

12:13And then I remembered that video. I thought, I'll just post it. And that was one of those moments where I just chucked my phone away. Cause I was like, I know it's not gonna, like I don't like it. Are you perfectionist? Yeah. So like if you're not in love with it, it's not going anywhere. Yeah, I know. But then like, when I was looking back at it, literally that evening, I did think wait, wait, this is exactly what I envisioned at the start. So I got so lost in all the different ways I wanted to do it, all the different voiceovers. like I just wasn't satisfied with the script like the video great but the script that I was writing I just wasn't satisfied with it um but I think I got so lost in all those iterations that I completely lost any sort of sense of creativity or like I don't know myself so I was just like I don't I don't I don't relate to this like I don't like it but I realized like it was exactly what I needed and what I wanted and I guess it was almost perfect timing yeah yeah because the book had been Most people have then probably read it.

13:05It was just like, oh my God, this is even more content I want. So now we're doing three more sort of opening scenes to my favorite chapters. It's like a mini film. Well, I was just saying it would be a good film. It would be a good long form. Somebody make a live action with millions. Yeah, come on. Did you do the audio book? Yeah, I did the audio book. Yeah, yeah. What was that like? That was hard. I did that in two days, back to back. Lost my voice at the end of it. But it was so cool. Did you have to keep smiling to like make sure you know what I mean? No, I actually, I definitely had to keep remembering what I was saying because sometimes you just read words.

13:39Yeah. But I really had to like embody the book and kind of act it. Yeah. Yeah, you had to act it. And like some chapters are really funny and then the next chapter would be like quite serious. So I'd have to just like switch. Change your tone a bit. Yeah. I saw the video you posted the other day of the girl opposite you on the tube. Oh my God, yeah. Who had the... Yes, explain that to those who didn't see it. So I think you posted a TikTok. It was like Parsons. It was in Kensington. yes and a girl was shouting Millie and you looked up thinking it was going to be a friend of yours and you stood on opposite sides of the platform and she just waved the book at you she said she just had the she got the last one in Waterstones that is so cool and she was like about to go on holiday she can't wait to read it but moments like that are honestly insane like epic I was so shocked because yeah like you said I thought it was my friend because I just said goodbye to my friends on the other side of the platform and I looked up and I was like what and I was like oh my god Do you think that was a bit of like, I made it in the book world moment for you?

14:35Yeah, I don't know. Sometimes I'm like, oh, that's just coincidence. Like, you know, it's just coincidence. But it definitely is like a pinch me moment for sure. Yeah, it was mega. And like to see how happy she was as well. Like her face. She was like buzzing at you. And the tube was still going. She was like, yeah. Such like a little meet cute moment. Yeah, that is. It was really sweet. It was really cute. You've really brought all the girls together, I feel like, on all your videos. Like people love to like see. Girlhood. Yeah. Yeah, because it's so relatable what you're saying. But I guess no one's, you know, social media was a bit polished for a bit and everyone had the perfect life.

15:07But no one was saying actually what they thought. I feel like you really broke that for people. They wanted to hear it. I think when you're single, you kind of just become very used to your own company. And so in my head, I was thinking like, I don't have anything to post about my love life because I don't have love life. So I never addressed it. but it did become, it started to become such a loud voice in my head for so, like, just more and more days and weeks and months and I was like, OK, this is something I need to speak about. And I just thought, yeah, no one really speaks about chronically single life.

15:42I didn't like what you said, Odin pauses, about the future. This is the love story of real hinge couple Odin and Edward, written and read by me, Curtis Garner. Listen to the free audiobook now. This episode is brought to you by Facebook. So you were scrolling on Marketplace, and there it was, the bike you'd been searching for. You sent a message, and it turned out the seller was super chatty, kind of funny, and an avid cyclist. The next thing you know, you're in a cycling crew. Well, a community cycling group. The thing about Facebook, you might find more than what you're looking for. from a browse to a bike ride this summer find more on Facebook have you ever had guys that you've been on dates with been like I've seen your videos have you?

16:33yes and then I've also heard through other people that guys didn't go on another date with me because they were too scared that I was going to they thought they might be the content so a guy is too scared to go on a date with you because he may end up in the book some of the friends of this guy were like teasing him because they were like oh you're going to be in their next video And he got so scared. But like, obviously. Well, then he wasn't the right guy for you. I know, I know. And like, I'm not going to ever do that. It's just like, I always make it very anonymous. And also I make it like, the timelines don't ever match up.

17:06Like I could be talking about a guy from like three years ago. Yeah. People don't know that, you know? Yeah. So I think they just need to get over it. Yeah. Like, picker ego aside, I'm not going to make a video about you. Have you ever had someone speak about you on a date? Like that? I don't think I have. No. Because that would be like so weird. It's like your thing. I never dated another influencer, another content creator. But I would actually be hooked if I saw someone talk about me. I'd be like, oh my God, what do they think? What do I do? I wonder if they're like that to you. They're just like watching being like, is that me or not me?

17:37Yeah. Amazing. Congrats. We've all been following everything. Thanks girlies. So shall we move on to things we're loving? Yeah. So we've got a bit to go through. But Millie, what we normally do is we just debunk everything in pop culture, celeb news, and what we're loving right now. So Lola, I know you had a few things. Yeah. Should we start with Let's Marry Harry? Yes. Who's watched it? Yeah, what's this? Oh, Millie. I know, honestly, this. He's called Harry Jowsey. We talk about de-centering men. Yeah. This is like the opposite of your book in a show. And do you know what? I actually hated myself when I was watching it.

18:11But I was skipping it a lot, but it was just the whole concept. It's really backwards. So there's 30 women that are all engaged to Harry Jowsey and they put all of them in one house together. He gets rid of one a day until he marries. Gets rid of one. I can't believe this. Yeah, he removes a woman from the house every single day. He also has three of his closest friends giving him advice, helping him decide who should go, who should stay. I honestly can't think of a bigger red flag. Like, you know, bowing at his feet. No, they're fighting it out. Like desperately. And it's becoming so competitive and just like awful.

18:45He'll be like, and he is sleeping with them, snogging them, telling them I love you. It is extraordinary. So he'll be like in the room with a girl snogging them. And a girl will be like, I've come to interrupt. Yeah, so they'll be like, hi. Hi. My turn. My turn now. And then he's like, oh yeah, off you go. Oh my God, no, no, no. And then she'll get in. And then they'll start snogging. He is absolutely lapping it up. That is his brand, isn't it? He is not going on that show to actually get married. Let's be real. Like he's got, no, 100 % not. And he's introducing them to his family. Really? Yeah, yeah.

19:16By the end, when he's whittled it down to two, he says, I love you to both of them. so he's in love with he is in love with both of them but he's not though is he? how can you be in love with someone you've met for how many is it 15 days or something? I think it is something like that but I think he is also he's love bombing them yeah oh hugely yeah but I think he's that delusional type where he actually thinks he is in love with them and then he just meets another girl he is the worst red flag in a person ever avoid avoid avoid but by the end he's crying because he's like I don't think I want to marry them and you're like Well, obviously not.

19:51That you are. So what are the friends roles? So the friends roles, to be fair, the friends are great. Well, one's an ex-girlfriend. One is his ex-girlfriend, yeah. One is his ex-girlfriend, one is his best mate, and one is, so a guy mate, and one is his best girl mate. And to be fair, they're all very level-headed and they're really looking for the best in who they think Harry should be with. And they're like, you know, this one's really calm. You're a bit more energetic. Maybe that's a good pairing. I mean, it's great telly because you were hooked. I mean, somebody in our office cried at the end of it.

20:19really oh my goodness um so for dofers sydney airport oh i've seen this i mean she's our queen we love her we love her she's come to the office we we love her yeah but she's fighting sydney airport because they don't do any gluten-free options which i back this corner i am recently gluten-free and it's like i struggle yeah it's hard out there but also what's the beef is the airport's commented or something yeah the airport did a video where they they really should have leveraged that. That was their moment to have Sofa Dofa as their GF ambassador. Like, come on, guys. I think there's still time.

20:54I think there's, mm. But she did a video of her like being like, oh, like entering the army territory. But they really could have leveraged that and they went the other way. They replied to her with opposed to being like, stuff you can eat in the airport. And it was like, a tea and honey. And she was like, well, brilliant. I can't wait to have a tea for my breakfast, lunch and dinner for an eight hour layover or something. She's so right. And then I saw Virgin Airlines have created a toastie called the Sofa Dofer Toasty. Stop it. That is brilliant. Yeah. So if you go to their lounge or something, you can get the Sofa Dofer.

21:33So good. Isn't that the best? I love it when brands do that. Just reactive stuff. When they pivot so quickly like that. Yeah, they jump on it. And I think they gave it to her being like, don't worry, we're gluten free babe. And then apparently they did a video like trying to order the sofa dofa, but she was too embarrassed to go up and go, can I have the sofa dofa? That is iconic. It is bad though. There's like no option in that entire airport. And I feel like Sydney is the most gluten-free place. Yeah, that is bizarre. Like it's all about health and wellness in Australia, right? Talking about creators and campaigns, who saw Salt and Stone's recent campaign with Tucker?

22:09Have you guys seen it? No. Oh my God. It's amazing. Lola, you will love it. It's like a cinematic genius. It is good. Landscape. It starts with him. It's like in LA, Hollywood. And he's getting loads of voice notes from his mates being like, why aren't you picking up? And he's got a golf club. And he is just smashing these golf balls over the hills. And they're hitting the salt and stone fragrances. It's so good. I love him. I just feel like he really embodies a salt and stone vibe. Yeah, I see that. I can really see that match. Yeah. he's and he's everywhere at the moment yeah exactly i'm seeing him everywhere dating dakota johnson and she was in his recent song because she's just released a new album i think and she's like talking back to him like oh like you want to call me baby he's like yeah i'll call you baby yeah he's so good he did a lie detector test um recently and he's like known for being the biggest liar on the internet and he's just so funny yeah he is so dry humor i keep thinking about no offense how emma chamberlain feels watching him just like absolutely boost because she was like the it girl yeah and he started dating her and that's how i was introduced to him yeah because it was like a year or two ago he popped out well i feel like i only found out him through emma chamberlain that's what i mean like so like now he's probably in his prime yeah yeah after emma chamberlain which is quite interesting and she did a tiktok back to him being like she used the sally sound after like years being like where's my sally tonight because she's now single, but he's with Dakota.

23:40So like the songs kind of overlapping, like you wanted me back, but I don't want you anymore. Like all of this. So it's kind of sad for her. Like imagine finally being single, getting to use all the sounds that were made about you. And then he's got Dakota. I feel like when you're Emma Chamberlain, like any person you get into a relationship with, there's probably always going to be like annoying loud voices that are going to interrupt like your relationship. Cause I think like, I mean, I don't know why their relationship ended, but then she got into the this where was that guy yeah peter mcpoland yeah and i swear like so many people were like hanging on him because obviously there was like i don't know if there was overlap or whatever but people were just got those parasocial relationships right yeah so like i always wonder like what like how that must affect her love life because she is so like online yeah and i feel like she's really pulled back because yeah yeah which is sad podcast she was on recently with them agreed no it's a really good podcast and she was just basically saying how social media like her prediction is just social media is just gonna plummet and it's gonna be this weird yeah like i don't know era where there's gonna be too many content creators too many influencers too saturated the effect is not gonna be the same so it's just gonna plummet kind of like a black hole that's really scary crazy yeah i kind of see that though because i I feel like anyone can do socials now or anyone thinks that they can.

25:00And like, yeah, it's cool to have a whole new field and be like so female dominated as well, I would say. But there is just so much content coming out. I'm like overwhelmed. But the opportunity is crazy. Who was it that recently, that young girl that blew up on TikTok? Oh, Ellie Ellis. Yes. I mean, that is mad. Mad. Like that is unheard of though. What happened again? She just started, she posted her get ready with me. I wanna see how many followers she's on now. Yeah, how many followers? But actually, I just think that is epic. Like, the fat social media has changed someone's life overnight like that.

25:33Literally overnight. And kind of rewards randomly. Yeah. But I feel like everyone kind of teamed up and were like, yeah, she is cool. Let's all follow her. Yeah, it was a weird wave, wasn't it? Yeah. I think it was something like she got like a million followers. Yeah, she was on 750 ,000. And she posted her very first video. She only posted like four videos. A few weeks ago. Wow. That is wild. and I think the first one blew up, didn't it? Yeah, it's one 16. And obviously gutting for the people that have been posting for years and years but I also think this is the other side of the coin where you can't predict it.

26:06And then you've got to then run with it. So she's now got this mega, it's like, do you remember that guy that went on the stage at Glasto and sang? Oh, with Dave? Yes. Do you remember? What was his name? With the bucket hat on. Alex from Glasto. Alex from Glasto. Do you remember Dave pulled him up and he just wrapped the whole of Tiago Silva And then he blew up and you kind of, I think, you know, you're maybe given these opportunities. It is cool. It's so rare, it's once in a lifetime, but you've got to run with it, otherwise it might not last. Brands need to jump on her right now. But she's so young though, so imagine like, I think she's getting a lot of hate, because obviously people are like jealous, right?

Read the full transcript

26:42Which is so sad. But I can't imagine, she's so young, I don't know how old she is, but she looks like. She's like under 16. Yeah, if I was a tween brand, I'd absolutely wrap her up. There was a video leaked on TikTok of the Beatles biopic online when they were all walking across Abbey Road. And they look so good. Yeah. Everyone looks good. But Barry Keegan looks like Barry Keegan. Yeah, I know. And, like, you just can't... I'm sorry, he's got such a resonable, distinctive face. And those eyes are, like, piercing blue. And he's got all the wig on, hasn't he? Yeah. So I thought it was his real hair.

27:18I thought he grew it. Maybe. Oh, maybe. I read something that said that he grew his hair into a bowl cup. Well, there was that whole leak of him after Sabrina and him broke up and then they were like, he's letting themselves go. He's probably growing it out. Bless him. Yeah. But the styling is on point. Yeah, they look so good. Paul Mescal looks not even... It's a good cast. I've seen, yeah, quite a few videos of people spotting them out in London. That is fun. When does it come out? This year? I think it's soon, yeah. I mean, they look amazing. The fashion as well. Who was the one in... Have you seen the clip online?

27:51Yeah, with the flares. Yeah, I think it might have been Joseph. John Levin? Yeah, but Joseph Quinn, who plays him. And I love him, he was in Stranger Things as well, and he's just so good. I just think, what a cast. But very good, I'm sorry. I can't hate until I've watched it. But he is just him. They're massive. They were huge. And it's also, I'd say, not really our generation to protect. We obviously love Paul and everyone, and we know them, but are my parents gonna know who Paul Mescal really are to us? Yeah. I do wonder if it's gonna do well or not. I do sort of wish they had picked random actors.

28:27Do you reckon? Yeah. But it does, it gets us involved. True. It does get all the generations involved actually. That weren't there for the Beatles. Yeah you are right. Can't hate yet until I've watched it, but I'm excited. Fair. Let's move on to things we're loving. Rapid Fire, what are any products, beauty brands? So I am loving, I'm just such a bangle rings jewelry guy. I'm not going to get any race. Me too. Yeah, saw that actually, really love those. Have you heard of Tiger, what's it called, Tiger by the Tail? Yes, we love. I was obsessed when I saw all their stuff. So, looked at some of their recent bits.

28:59They've got some really nice like pinky jewelry, like rings, big jewels, love, just love all that stuff. Tiger by the Tail's the best. Yeah. I have the Daisy. Yeah, and Poppy's got, me and my sister did a little like dinner with them once and it was like, They're the best brand because it's all female founded. I love. Just a female team. Love that. Speaking of female founders, the cycle drink, have you heard of this? No. It's like, I mean, obviously it's in America, but I'm sure it will always come over. But they're like a CPG drink that is for major women in their cycle. So your luteal phase, your follicular phase.

29:36That's genius. And I just think it's so good because like, there are obviously supplements out there, but I feel like it's always fun to have just a drink. Yeah. Or just something a bit more cute and something you can have on the go. Yeah. So I'm loving that. I'm waiting for that to come over to you. I want to rock up to the office and everyone just know not to talk to me. I'm in my political face. Everyone, I'm in my political face. The Jimmy Fairley bug-eye sunglasses. They are really cool. I don't go to Jimmy Fairley. I don't suit any of them. Like, I've got these ones in red. Yeah, they are you.

30:04But I don't suit any of the big ones. Really? And it's really annoying me. I don't believe that. No, you've definitely got that face. It just suits every shape. I actually agree because I'm a big forehead girl so I can't have something that will block out my eyebrows I've got to have it seen I think that is what it is I need my eyebrows to show but you don't have a big forehead so I don't know if she's checking measuring it with the fingers me when I was at school I'd be like I could put five on today I don't think it's the forehead though is it I think it's just where your eyebrows sit so I always want my eyebrows seen I've got a brick now.

30:40That's great. I've also got a brick but I just haven't even used it. It's literally sitting there. Is it? I'm too scared to use it because I'm like what else would I do? I want one. I need one. I know. I think you've just got to do it and then fix it. I want it just for locking certain apps. Well that's what I do because I'm the world's worst Whatsapper so I actually block everything but Whatsapp so I just sit there and I'm like oh my god. I saw Alex Brown posted TikTok being like I have a new hack boil an egg for six minutes and then see how many whatsapps you can reply to i'm like that's genius that is genius yeah having like an end goal i have such a fear about what we're the same aren't we like i can't honestly my whatsapps i can't i get so bad at it honestly guys i think it is like a generational thing and then what's worse because you get through them all and then they reply yeah and i'm like yeah that was my one hour reply and then just leave it at that guys it's not that i don't want to talk to my friends i love to talk to them but like guys i'm just like it is another email box in my brain yes like that's what it is.

31:37Yeah. Yeah. And I think people who are online and have like creative jobs only see it as an email inbox. Yeah. I think anyone else outside that probably just sees that as like a fun social. I do think it is important to still like upkeep, put effort into relationships because you know what? It is a bad trait that I've got to not reply. And I know my friends are being like Daisy shit. Daisy shit. And I'm like, oh, that's so bad. And do you know what? I agree. I go, do you know what? Give us what related content we are like firing it off all minutes of every hour of the day. I literally text Suzy all day, like, what do you think about this?

32:08And she's like, yeah, love. I see it as, like, that's, like, when your window is open. Like, you've only got certain pockets of windows that are open in WhatsApp. I agree. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I agree. And then, I wonder, I don't know. For me, I always play Made HD. It's just everything's like, I want to play Made HD. We're probably in the same field. I do think there needs to just be, like, little things in place. Like, you just, like Alex said, six minutes WhatsApps. That's your thing. Like, just more structured. because now there's so much online. Unless, there's obviously been a lot of chat around catch up culture and how, you know, why are we always catching up?

32:42Because we're, you know, and that is what I can't stand on text. It's like, what have you been up to? I like, I don't, but if you just said, meet me tomorrow and we'll go for a walk, I'll be like, yes, down. Recently, I've been romanticizing just on my weekdays. So last night I went to Regent's Park for a picnic with some of my friends. So nice. I walked past Buckingham Palace on a Tuesday afternoon. Yeah. And you have free will, like you can't, anyone can do that. It's quieter. Yeah, it's quieter. And then a week before that, I was having like hosting at mine, and then we were doing cinema, and then we were doing like just little activities.

33:10Because after this whole catch up culture, like thing that's come up, I have really been so aware of that. Same, I didn't realize until I read it, I was like, wow, that is me. And that's probably why you feel like sometimes like meeting up with a friend feels like more of a meeting or like a chore than like it does to feel like a fun thing. And then you don't see them for another six months. So literally all you're then doing is just catching up. A blip, a blip. And you're not actually doing stuff. But I do think it takes two to put that effort in. But I also do feel like there are friends who, like you do, like, what do I say?

33:46The catch up friends do have a purpose in some people's lives. Because like, I actually had a conversation with some of my friends last night. One of them has like no catch up friends at all. She has such a small circle. But then I said like, I have a few catch up friends, but purely just because I think the nature of my work, I need to sort of be in the circles and I want to be friends with people who are also in the circles and sometimes it does just require some catch-ups. And she doesn't relate to that because she doesn't need to do that in a way. So I feel like there is purpose. I just want to give you the space to process it, Michael said.

34:18Elena paused. I don't think I want to see anybody else. This is the love story of real Hinge couple Elena and Michael, written and read by me, Raven Smith. Listen to the free audiobook now.

34:58This summer, find more on Facebook. Especially with people in the same field as you, I think that's important because schedules in your world, I'm sure, are a bit random. They're all different each day. Like ours. So I think sometimes catch-up is, but I don't know. Is it catch-up or is it just... Is it just doing it for the sake of... Yeah. Because you know you haven't seen them for a while, so you need to have a good one-on-one FaceTime. I have a lot of friends who we've both spoken to each other and they're like, listen, I should be better, but realistically, I'm not going to get better. And they're like, that's annoying, but sure.

35:33Let's just speak when we want to speak. Nice. Go to the pub and enjoy each other. Yeah. Like, if you tell me. Yeah, exactly. Be on the same page. I don't hate you because I haven't told you what I'm doing in the last month. But like, if I go to the pub with you, I'm going to let it all out. Tell you everything. And I think those are actually some of my closest relationships. Like, there's low maintenance friends, high maintenance friends. Both have purpose. but some work better with others. Yes, agreed. I came across their Instagram. Two best friends set up a pickle brand called Hot Girl Pickles.

36:04Oh, yeah. The packaging is sick. And I just, I'm so here for people redefining things that already exist, but in just a really cool way. You know, I feel like there's so many brands out there right now. Drizzy, the peanut butter brand. Yeah. That put it in a squeezy bottle. There's one, the sardine one. Have you seen the sardine one? No, but that's great. Really cool. There's a really cool sardine packaging. See, it's just. Wait, I have seen that. Is it in like a white and it's beautifully illustrated? Yeah, it could look like a candle. Yeah, great stocking filler guys. Love that. And also, my water bottle.

36:37Guys, this is Bow Hydration, little Instagram brand. Satna's got the brown one, I got the baby blue. It's honestly been my most used item in the last two weeks. And this is great because it has a straw. Yeah, that is game changer. It also doesn't look aggressive. No, and it's got this really chic little sort of, how do you describe that to anyone not watching us? Like a lid. A ball ball. But it's, you know, it's great quality. And it's got this little toggle that you can sort of carry on your two fingers when you're on a walk. Because I don't know about you, I cannot leave the house without a water bottle.

37:07I have this weird thing about keeping hydrated. So do I. My girlfriend's always like, you don't need the bottle. I'm like, I do. No, you do. I take it everywhere. I think the more you drink, though, the more your body needs the water. I saw, guys, I'm obsessed with ASOS at the moment. Yeah, you are, aren't you? I really am going through an ASOS. scroll because I haven't been a one in a while. You've just got to, there are little tricks to it and you've just got to go by brand. I always also do new in then by brand. Me too. But there's so many brands you have to literally manually go through. I mean you've got to hit the ones that you realistically would hit.

37:36There's definitely a sport to sites don't you think? Yeah. Specifically like Zara, specifically ASOS. Yeah I agree. Do you not think they each have different ones? Do you not think they should partner with like Pinterest to make some sort of like algorithm thing going on there? You hearing this? I have, yeah you hearing this? Zara now do the suggested for you. and it's so tailored to what you buy. And Pinterest actually have a feature where you can scroll what to shop from that photo. Yes. Yeah, true. Which is quite clever, but they should. Farron Clark's the new ASOS. Oh yeah, ASOS marketer. She's coming on the pod next week.

38:06She's a doll. She's cool. Yeah, I met her a few weeks ago. She's so cool. I want her brain. I saw these really cool zebra heels. Zebra is it? Yeah, loving zebra. Zebra in purple. And it's everywhere. Yeah, or blue. I saw these really cool sort of wedged, they were in a nice shape, but wedged heels. I got served those as an ad. Did you see? I know exactly what you're talking about. Is this on A-SWAT? Yeah. I think I know exactly what you're talking about. I just think they're quite fun. I immediately thought of Nana, but something like a plain outfit with them, or red, or blue, I just think it would be really fun, especially because I don't want to leave colourful dressing just for summer.

38:41I want it to go into winter. I also, as well as this Adidasic one, I got the blue and red one. Yeah. So good. Royal blue with red subtraction. With what Nana was wearing. I think it's slightly different to hers. Reverse. Yeah, really cool. I guess. Yeah. And they're so comfortable. Really comfy. And you can wear them anywhere. I need to have a scroll. I just love it. Well, thank you so much, Millie, for joining us. Thank you for having me. It's been so fun. It's been so overdue to have you on. And congrats with everything. You're killing it. I can't wait to read your book. Yeah. I'll show you.

39:10Yeah, you're going to have to let me know how you find it. Thank you so much. And we will see you next time. Bye. Love ya.
