In short
Summer fashion trends and styling (nylon balloon pants, polka dots, clogs, flip-flops/thong sandals, scarves), plus beauty favorites (Road/“Ro” products, Huda Beauty lip stain/liners and long-lasting lip products), and celebrity/lifestyle news (Kim Kardashian at Balenciaga, Ozempic-related body concerns, fashion brand labor scandals, Love Island controversy).
Guests (backgrounds)
Tamara Jabbby hosts. Regulars: Hiba Baker (SheerLuxe “come shopping with me” videos; posts outfit/dupe finds; Lebanese), Jessica Steed (style-focused, buys Revolve for weddings; discusses prints), and tell our villain GM (GM; shares jewelry and fashion sourcing; mentions Greek boutique Corfu jewelry). They also reference other creators/brands they’ve interviewed or follow.
Key claims
Animal print is becoming a “neutral.” Balloon pants flatter different physiques and work with thong sandals. Huda Beauty lip stain lasts ~24 hours; must be warmed/tapped and given a minute before use. Korean “makeover” in South Korea uses 3D scanning/AI and multiple procedures in 1–2 days under anesthesia (not plastic surgery). Luxury brands’ labor practices are being investigated (Laura Piana/Dior comparisons).
Notable examples
H&M zebra-print heels dupe (80 dirhams); Zara lace skirt; Neverfully Dressed red skirt; Jill Sander sample sale top; Lime linen/nylon pants; Revolve polka-dot halter dress; Greek Corfu “Pearl Boutique” Byzantine jewelry symbolism; Kim Kardashian Balenciaga show; Love Island contestants removed for past racial slurs.

2:39Hebah Baker:Did you get that? I bought them and I wore them this summer. So I'll be posting a photo soon. So you'll see that I bought them and I'm going to tag you. Can't wait to see them. Because I was really inspired. I think they're super cool. I love zebra prints. I think it suits with a lot of things that we don't realize. And I think animal print now is becoming a neutral. It is. Absolutely. So it always like zhuzhes up in outfits. I love it. Looking good. Jessica, you look amazing. Thank you. Talk us through your outfit. so I'm wearing a shirt from Bouguesa and my skirt is Zara I think I have the same one it's so great I love it it's all right it's light and the don't tell it well the lace is I love it and then belt is H &M shoes are actually Michael Kors are they they're really are they comfortable super comfortable and they're stylish like yeah because I want to fear yeah well I've knowing you you'll probably screenshot your photo which is gonna zoom in and she's gonna put on I tried that it doesn't work no it does where how do you on Google no because I tried it on chat GPT it does not work try on Google every time yeah yeah for me there's certain colors of like the browns it suits with outfits all the time or no so I find it's hard to find either the heights or the shades yeah but I'm knowing you I trust that you know no I'll find you'll definitely find it Tamara, you bought clogs recently.
4:03Hebah Baker:I did. Well, were they recent? Yeah, well, yeah, I did. No, like before it was like two months ago. They're actually Zara. Yeah. Are they comfy? Yeah, they're super comfortable. Yeah, they were really cute. I love clogs. Honestly, they're back. They are so funny. If you go to Hermes right now. Do they have clogs as well? Yeah. You know what's so funny? My mom used to wear clogs. The Dr. Scholl's one? No, but lol, yes, she would. But by the way, these are back. They're back. Are they? If you go to Level Shoes, they're selling them in Level Shoes now. Dr. Scholl's? Oh my god, I love that. You guys are kidding.
4:32Hebah Baker:Granny core. Love it. Comfort is key. Comfort is back. Yeah, of course. So yeah, my mom used to wear clogs growing up. And me and my siblings used to always make fun of her. Like, mom, what are these shoes? Like, what are those? You know what that means? What are those? Yeah. But now they're fully back. And she was like, oh, you're wearing clogs, huh? I'm like, yeah. You should be like, mom inspired me. She used to call them sabo. Sabo? Sabo, yeah. It's true. Lebanese. Yeah, sabo. Does that mean clog? I know it's just a sabo. Oh, it's like a slip-on. Yeah, it's a slip-on. There we go. But you look so cute.
5:04Hebah Baker:I love the NFT skirt. Thank you. Yeah, I wanted to bring out the never fully dressed skirt because I realized that fish are having a moment. Sardine summer. Shirlux has been talking about it for so long now. A hundred percent. I really believe that. I was going to get into that for the podcast. Sardine summer is super in it. And as a Pisces, you're also Pisces. Oh my God, we love Pisces. We love Pisces. We love Pisces. Pisces season. We love fishes. Well, I guess it's not Pisces season, actually. But it's always Pisces. It's always Pisces. Says the Pisces. It's always Pisces season. It's March, before Aries.
5:36Yes, before Aries. You should know that. But yeah, so this is the Neverfully Dressed skirt. I love it. It's so soft. And I think it goes, even though it's bright red, I feel like you can play a lot with it. You could even wear, like, full black with it, full white. But I wore a favorite frame denim tank top. And this is a just trusty collar shirt from Mango. Super cool. I have a lot in the closet, like white. I just, I feel like you can dress it up or down all the time. And all the jewelry, this was from my grandma. It's all like old vintage jewelry. And the shoes are Sense? Senses? Yeah, the double S-E-S.
6:18From Level. They have really good shoes. Very comfortable shoes. They're very comfortable and it's the first time that I'm doing the flip flop peel. Oh, yeah, so me too.
6:28Hebah Baker:I'm really into it. Yeah, so a shape that I loved and I saw in three colors I'm like let me order them cuz they're good. They're good. Yeah. Yeah No, I'm doing flip-flops these days and they like I wasn't guys I was not I was a slide girl Like I was wearing slides like Birkenstocks like I was never into the the thong Yeah, I was never into it. But now I'm so into it. Yeah, I've always been into it since I was young. Yeah They're so comfortable. Yeah. Yeah. But now it's like all the brands are doing. Even Ferragamo has amazing ones. The high heel with the lace. Those sound nice. We know she doesn't like a lace.
7:06I don't like a lace.
7:08Hebah Baker:Hiba knows why I don't like a lace. Even though I think it's so beautiful. Why don't you like a lace? Because of my cankles. No. I just feel like it's not flattering for my legs. You don't have cankles. If anyone's watching. I'm insecure about my cankles. Not so insecure that I don't talk about it. I'm open about it. Yeah, but lace-up, they look nice. They look nice on other people. Even Aliyah has amazing ones. Do they? Ooh, Aliyah can do no wrong. Aliyah is killing it now. They can do no wrong. And your earrings are really cute. Where are they from? These are actually from a Greek little boutique jewelry shop in Corfu that we go every summer to see what new things they have.
7:46And it's called Pearl Boutique in Cassiope, if anyone goes to Corfu. and they have amazing stuff and actually so is this pendant it's a it's a gift from the owner and apparently back in the byzantine era they would give these to newlyweds the brides as like a symbol of good luck yeah and i was like oh cool yeah and turquoise my favorite i love it um so it's just like a charm i was feeling in a charm charming mode it's very charm vibes yeah oh and the pearl ring is also from that store. So cute. But they're just things that I've had like for over the past you know 10 years. So good jewelry goes a long way.
8:27Definitely keeps it for sure. Yeah. What are you wearing?
8:30Hebah Baker:So I am wearing okay guys I'm super proud about this because this is a Jill Sander top that I got at a sample sale in London. Okay so I was catching up with a friend earlier this summer. I was catching up with a friend and she was telling me she came to meet me with like bags of stuff and I was like babe what do you have and she was like oh I just went to this Jill Sanders sale I got like a first preview of the Jill Saturday that's going over two days I was like what like I love Jill Sander I'm obsessed with Jill Sander I love their stuff and so she was like it's at this address and I was literally leaving London like that afternoon and I was like I gotta go so I went and I there I got so much stuff and they had such nice pieces and this is one of them Summer Angels.
9:14Hebah Baker:Beautiful. Butter yellow. Well done. Butter yellow. I actually paired it with that skirt on my holiday in Begrou. I know. Because it's long enough. Oh, you just posted it. And I just posted it on social media. So cute. And I just love this shirt. It's amazing. Belt is Zara. My denim shorts are also from London. They're from the brand called Arquette. Oh, nice. I recently discovered this brand through Sheerlux UK. And I love their stuff. I wish we had it in Dubai. it's a great probably coming soon probably but you know what's not coming soon that I'm still waiting on is Uniqlo great baby is it actually coming here though no no it's not right I thought you know what I thought was Uniqlo back in the day but it turns out it's not the super dry store that had like yeah had like like writing anything in Japanese and yeah you know close coming no no that wasn't the case and then my my cuff is from Orient 499 which is a Lebanese and my shoes are Jude's brand that everyone's talking about yeah I love this brand they have really nice stuff you actually just interviewed the founder yeah keep a look out a cute little interviews coming up soon thank you but yeah their shoes look beautiful and their Instagram is stunning like very aesthetically pleasing and then my earrings are Enzo design I know that you love them as well I spoke about them recently I love their stuff gorgeous pieces they are yeah online the way the packaging as well it's just yes so nice everything is nice is the founder an interior designer or something to do with interiors i feel like she has such an eye of how she does her branding even her own personal instagram page is so aesthetically pleasing she has such a beautiful like similar to the like faiza from bogessa yeah who has such great eye great aesthetic like it's it's nice it's visually nice to see her her Instagram page.
11:08Hebah Baker:So she's Annie Han on Instagram. Oh, yes, yes. She doesn't do it. Does she do interiors? I don't know if she does interiors, but she has such a great eye. Okay, yeah, I follow her as well. You follow her profile. She's amazing. And then her brand is Enzo Design. And I love their pieces. Really nice. They really have nice pieces. Yeah. I love it. And I love your ear cuff. Thanks. This is actually from Y Paris. I love Y Paris. Y Paris is amazing. I love the founder. And the founder is amazing. He's a great guy. I love the guy. It's a guy and he's super cool and he is just like the guy for ear cuffs like if you're looking for ear cuffs He is the one okay ten so no Enzo is this one and then your cuffs is why why Paris?
11:47He is amazing so so His name is Yassine and he's so cute and they start at level shoes Oh amazing Okay nice
11:58Hebah Baker:On to our first topic new and noteworthy this is where we talk about anything that's new and happening that you guys want to talk about Have you guys heard about the Korean makeover? No. The full Korean. I mean, I'm sure now when I talk about it, you guys are going to know. But nowadays, people are going to Korea the same way they go to Turkey and they have a full package planned for them. You go to a clinic and they do a full medical testing on your skin. Oh. So they do a full 3D scanning. They test your microbiome. They use AI technology. to test your skin to check your pores your microbiome your pigmentation levels and it's purely skin so it's all skin based um and then they give you a full medical report and they tell you what medical procedures you need to do and they do it for you you you have the option of doing 5 to 15 different um different packages basically in one go wait so how many days do you have to take so you have to do so they do it between one to two days oh wow okay and they put you under anesthesia they're doing the full procedure so talia fawaz just did it oh did she yeah and i've seen that why she was in korea yeah and i've seen a few influencers now on tiktok saying that they're now traveling and it's a full package so they give you hotels flights just like so just like turkey and they're doing the full like 15 procedures let's say i think Talia did 14 procedures in one go and her face I mean if you see the videos of what her face look like when she was doing it yeah it's frightening so I was kind of like but I'm sure now that her face yeah look amazing yeah well I mean my friend went to South Korea and she had the best facial treatments like them yes she looked like she had glass skin this is right before her wedding it was like her bachelorette trip before her wedding which was just purely beauty product beauty treatments and i definitely want to do that now i really want to do that yeah koreans do skincare they do um so i would i mean i would try it but i would need someone with me because it looks scary it's scary but what are these procedures are they super are they superficial like are they not super no so you can do like laser fraction you can do microneedling prp all the different procedures in one go so they do it obviously with their expertise um and they put you under anesthesia because like it's a lot happening at once um and then they actually follow up with you as well so they they check your skin afterwards you say for a couple of days you need to like obviously not go out etc so it's a full full-on procedure if you want to like change your your face or they kind of give you a whole medical testing behind it as well so it's not plastic surgery no it's not no no it's just treatment surface level yeah that's what i meant Not, what did I say?
14:55No, but I think there are options to do procedures, but this is more of like a skincare. So it's a Korean makeover for like skin.
15:03Hebah Baker:Wow. Interesting. Very interesting. I wonder how much these things cost. Yeah. Well, they're saying it's a package. Maybe it's a package. Yeah. And now it's like they're catering to people from like the U.S. Middle East was one of their like target audiences. Wow. That are going. So I think this is now like the new thing. In the past week, I've been really fascinated by, I've been seeing them all over Instagram, all the brand installations and activations in the south of France and Ibiza. Jack Moose did one. Wow. Burberry's doing one. Roe did hers in south of France. And Attico just opened a beautiful store in Ibiza, too.
15:49so I'm very much looking forward to going to a piece of the summer. Yeah, absolutely. I'm gonna just drag my husband to them and be like, just sit and eat. I'm gonna just browse a little bit. Honestly, it's so beautiful. It's so fun. Yeah, they're beautiful. They all look amazing. Oh, and Dolce & Gabbana did one at Clap also. I didn't see that. Yeah, it's like everything's leopard print. And it looks amazing.
16:11Hebah Baker:And Missouna did a takeover at Oku Ibiza as well. Yeah, so I feel like fashion's just becoming so much more in that realm of just lifestyle, restaurants, cafes. 100%. But I think it's great. I agree. I think it's like brands need to find different ways to bring out their brand, like I said. So that method, I think, really helps to connect with the customer and the consumers. I love that. I love that Rode is doing that as well because a beauty brand, tapping into that to make it more upscale and more fashion-focused is really smart. Yes, and it's great marketing. As soon as I saw it, I was like, I need this barrier face mist spray immediately.
16:54See, guys, I love her blush. I haven't tried the blush yet.
16:59Hebah Baker:It's so good. So you know what's crazy is that I don't own it, but I tried it in the UK from Sapla. I love it too. I actually made my sister buy it from Canada and bring it with her from Canada. No way. Because I tried it on my friend as well, and I loved it. the texture no i think i need to i do shop they need to get on sephora they need to yeah yeah it needs to be on sephora they don't know i've heard i've heard mixed reviews about roads really yeah pencils oh i don't know about the lip pencils yeah oh i have them i have two oh and um thoughts i really like it i think it's not i don't use it as a lip liner i just use it more as like a lipstick yeah that's what people are saying yeah it's not it wipes off very quickly yeah yeah but you know what is long lasting you were just talking about this the huda beauty yeah yeah the lip stain yeah the lip liner everyone's talking about this it is amazing i had to literally buy it in four different colors seriously i actually went and i bought one and then i went back tried it on and i'm like no i'm going back right now it is so good you put it on you sleep in it you do everything it just stays I don't even have to carry it with me but yeah I still do I'm wearing it today are you I'm wearing it now what all of you ring what a beauty yes I love that I'm actually going to be the lip liner lip liner yeah no no I hit gloss no I love it I can't go back you can't go back it's that good it was like I'm I've dropped all my lip liners and now I'm just sticking to that yeah which color are you wearing right now I'm wearing rosewood yeah that's a very nice color i have it with me actually i actually have both shades with me do you let's look them out i mean guys and no but she's right they last for literally 24 hours so this is soft nude i love it gorgeous darker and my favorite is rosewood i agree and you just put like a lip gloss over it i don't actually get the the i put on the benefit tint oh yeah Benetton's.
19:01Yeah, yeah. It's the bit, you know? And it's just, I can't do lip gloss. Like, I feel like it gets stuck on my hair. Yeah.
19:07Hebah Baker:So I was never a lip gloss girl, but then recently I became a lip gloss girl. I mean, I like it on people, but for me, it just doesn't stay. No, it's an uncomfortable feeling. But Huda Beauty, again, does pretty good lip gloss. The faux lip filler lip gloss. Yeah. Phenomenal product. It comes with it as well. It comes with that, yeah. You can do it again. So I went through a lip gloss phase with a Gen Z girl that I used to work with. When I was working at Gucci, she was like, you have to try this. So I became obsessed with lip gloss and now I can't wear it anymore. Yeah. You just like overdid it.
19:36You go through this life. I couldn't live without lip gloss for, I think it was a year and a half. And now I'm back to the maths. Which lip gloss? Because I love lip gloss. I love the injection. Oh, yeah. The plump one. What's it called? It burns your lips. Yeah, two-faced. Two-faced. Yeah. Gives you like a little tingle. It gives you a tingle, but it just plumps your lips. And it always just looks, it looks juicy.
19:58Hebah Baker:I am I heard I saw a lot of videos of the Huda Beauty lip stain yeah yeah I saw a lot of videos of the Huda Beauty lip stains on tick-tock of people saying oh my god mine's dried out mine's right now yes it does because they don't know it sort sort properly they're meant to like keep it upside down yeah and just wait for a bit before using it you're not meant to just pick it up like if it's flat flat yeah you shouldn't just grab it and try because it's good for our listeners to know because you're like oh it's no no the ink needs to just you need to give it like a minute or two so that goes down fountain pun right yeah you have to just give it a minute and apparently it has like a technology in it i was watching on tiktok that it's a very specific technology so you can't just like like you said pick it up and use it you have to like rub the oh warm it up tap it on the thing and then use it honestly it's good to know that lives up to the hype i tried it I actually really like them.
20:51Hebah Baker:They're really good. It really does. It's worth every penny. I use it religiously. Do you? Yeah. Yeah, I use both of hers, but I use that on the outline, and then I put the light pink inside. Inside, yeah. To give it more of like a shading on the back.
21:11Hebah Baker:Moving on to our next segment, fashion finds. Guys, tell me what you're seeing, because you guys are very stylish. I'm sure you have so many things on your list. Tal, we'll start with you. so I'm currently very much loving the I am genie moment of like the balloon pants yeah and I love how they come in different materials I think it's flattering for like any physique um tall shorts like whatever you are I think you can dress it up dress it down I feel like they look great with like the flip-flop heel totally yes thong sandals a little thong sandal and I know Lemia posted a really cute pair from mango yes oh yeah yeah the brown one I want to go and get the stories have really nice do they love stories okay and I'm buying the ones we saw at lime did you oh my god so I was gonna say that I wear at lime when did we go I forgot when before before I left we did a come shopping with yes or if I find a doll yeah and we saw these pants her and I just stopped we were like I love these pants stopped in your truck yeah cuz they're so cool very similar to what Lulu has picked out a different texture.
22:20Hebah Baker:Lime has really nice pieces of the best. Lime is killing it. And the quality is great. The quality of their linen is so good. It's a very good brand. Amazing. I recently wore a lime dress for a pre-party wedding on the boat. And everyone was like, wow, who's the designer? And I was like, it's lime. It's so good. Were they shocked? Yeah, they were like, really? And some people that live in Dubai were like, what's lime? What's lime, yeah. I'm like, are you kidding me? Yeah, I feel like a lot of people don't know about Lyme. I think they need to open more branches. Yeah, because they only have the one branch.
22:52No, they have two now. What? Where? They have Merdiff, which is their first store. Which, by the way, I would highly recommend going to Merdiff because it's huge. Really? Yeah, she said it's great. Yeah, it's huge.
23:02Hebah Baker:Oh, okay, I will take the trip. Okay, forget what I said. I will take the trip. I will take the trip. I went up in Dubai Mall. Shopping at Merdiff is amazing because everyone goes there for F &B. and their stock that they have in the mall is like full. Great tip, Hills. I'm definitely going to go to Meredith to shop. So for those of you people that don't know where Meredith is, it is a bit further out towards the airport and the majority of us live on the other side, so it's a bit of a trek to get there. But just FYI, it took the same amount from my house. I said our house. I love it. We live in the same area.
23:34We live in Business Bay. So it took 18 minutes to Meredith and then Dubai Hills was 15 minutes. So it's pretty much the same distance. So it's not that bad.
23:42Hebah Baker:To be honest, I'm being a bit of a princess. Going around in Dubai, it takes no longer than 20 to 25 minutes in general to go from one end to the other to the other. It's because we never go that direction. It's just, yeah, the neighborhoods. Because the thing about Dubai is that it's built in a way where you have everything around you. You literally don't have to go too far for a supermarket, for a pharmacy, for a mall, for everything that you need for F &B. But nice that you bought that. You know who else bought them? And I saw her post on social media and I was like, I wish I bought the pants.
24:10I'm gonna go back and you can still buy them I hope I want to buy them now yes yeah you have
24:13Hebah Baker:to send you they sound so cute for our bank account yeah she's um but they uh Omeima Omeima yes yeah also bought them and styled them in a very cool way I saw that picture and I thought they were like Louis Vuitton or something they are lime yeah they're so cool and it has like it's a nylon texture which is actually quite cool but I must say they're so annoying when you walk because they make so much challenge. Why? Oh, because that... Stop, the friction between the material. But whatever, honestly, I'll do anything for fashion. It'll work. It's worth it. Anything for fashion. And I think they would look really nice with these shoes.
24:47Do you think?
24:48Hebah Baker:Would you sell them with these? That's with a white t-shirt. I'm obsessed with Jude. I think they have such a nice brand, like such a nice brand. Okay, noted. I will keep that in mind. White t-shirt. You'll see me on like a two-day next Instagram post. Hey, guys. Jessica, anything that you have seen recently? Any fashion finds? Honestly, I'm loving the polka dot trend yes i'm not someone who wears prints in general but i'm actually drawn to it right now and i'm seeing it everywhere and i actually bought a dress i have a wedding coming up and i actually bought a dress from revolve which is and it's polka dot am i gonna wear that i'm like you know what let me just get on the trend and try it what's the style i mean it's like a halter neck and then it's just like the upper part has polka dots and then the lower is just black and I like that yeah like when it's like I have print house and it's just so nice and I see it on people I'm like I actually like it but what I don't see myself in it but then I'm like you know what just get you're gonna rock it yeah don't don't what is it what's the quote don't quit it till you try it yeah like literally don't be like I mean for a wedding I would why not right it's a summer wedding right yeah you can have fun and experiment and I saw actually quite a few people at the wedding I went to recently also wearing polka dots.

26:04Hebah Baker:It's really in right now. I'm also not a polka dot fan. I like prints. But you bought the... Exactly. I'm not a polka dot fan at all. So like you, I was like, oh, I'm not really into it. But let me see this top that I tried on and I liked a lot. It was a strapless polka dot. Yeah. It's a retro. It's also very retro. Like a very classic, romantic print now. Yeah, it's very feminine and soft. Yeah. Like old Hollywood. Exactly. I feel like it's giving 50 like that sort of era. Love that. It's getting Marlon Monroe. Yes. Exactly. I feel like you're going to look so good in that dress. I want to see those photos.
26:38Hebah Baker:Send pictures to the view. Where's your wedding? Is it in Dubai or is it? Lebanon. Yeah. It's going to be a Lebanon. Can we have a moment to talk about Lebanon? Tomorrow, left your heart in Beirut. Honestly, I left my heart in Beirut. What a great place. I know. It's so beautiful. I knew that going there, I was going to have a great time because I haven't had a summer in Beirut in years, probably before COVID, before the blast. like I don't think I've had a proper summer. Wow that's like so long. Yeah more than five years. Yeah five years. Five years wow. Yeah so it's been a long time and I used to go every summer religiously to Lebanon and so this was the first year that I went after not going for so long and I just fell in love with the place all over again.
27:15Hebah Baker:I fell in love with the city. I mean it's just you know you guys all have all been to Bain. You're Lebanese as well so you understand like it is just the best summer. I just want to go back. The best place in the world. I was devastated when I came Yeah, you went early in the summer. You were depressed. Yeah, yeah, you did. I went and like someone, my mom called me and she's like, are you okay? I'm like, what's happening? Why are you asking me? She's like, I have no idea what's happening. I'm like, I'm on a boat right now. You literally forget the world when you're there, even though it's like devastation happening right in right now.
27:45Hebah Baker:But you just, you know what I mean? It's just such a beautiful place and it's such a great energy in the city. I think the energy is unmatched in Lebanon. um but yeah Lebanese weddings are just the best and now I'm rethinking maybe I want to do my wedding in Lebanon do it I really I think so I went to Portugal to scout venues earlier this summer I was thinking about going to Thailand to scout venues there and then I'm like you know what like Lebanon is it's already mapped out for you there it is I know everyone yeah and it's easy for people to go there yeah yeah so that's actually if actually some of us don't have like Like the visa, like the passport, you know, you're just...
28:26Hebah Baker:But easy is also not so easy because you never know what might happen. That was my biggest challenge. Yeah, that's true. I've always wanted a Lebanese wedding, but then I thought, if something, God forbid, happens, people will cancel. And that's my biggest thing. But I'm like, you know what? Wow, it seems like... Incredible. I have FOMO. You're going to have so much fun. When are you going? I was just there and I came back. Oh, you were just there. You're going back. It's as bad as me. Hey, but what about you? Any fashion finds? okay you know my obsession with chat spicy down yes and they keep one upping their collections every time and they have this butter yellow dress that's one shoulder has like a silver buckle here and it's long and it drapes from the back all the way to the bottom of the dress so it's like connected and you just see the shape just the way it falls the way they construct their items the designer really understands a woman's body especially a middle eastern body and i think that's why he's doing so well in the region yeah because there's that element of modesty yet structured in a way and it's also sexy yes it's sexy but modest and not a lot of designers know how to do modest sexy dresses um and it also comes with the attachable detachable gloves oh i love that we love an accessory yeah it's it's so beautiful and i'm definitely gonna buy chats is such a great brand I really love their stuff they sell on UNAS and then I also was at a pop-up for a new vintage platform it's called and again yes have you guys see I talked to them after did you I have so many things to sell and I was looking for a place to sell it so I'm definitely exactly so it's not just a buy yeah so it's not just a vintage platform it's also a platform that you can buy and sell clothing and it's the branding is super cute and they had a pop-up their very first pop-up they're going to do more pop-ups in the region um but essentially we had to you could shop influencer closets so one of the influencer closets had a chat spicy damn dress that was white that i purchased that i'm absolutely in love with they had so much more chats by the way they had like different chats options um and i i loved it so much did you wear it yet i didn't wear it yet i wanted to wear it in beirut but then i I felt like it was a bit much because it's long and it's halter naked.
30:47Hebah Baker:It's gorgeous. But all the chat stuff got sold out in minutes because their product is that good. But I'm loving that platform. It's a really cool platform that I highly recommend. And speaking of platforms, there's also another platform that just launched in Lebanon called Archief. I think it's how you pronounce it, Archief or Archief. By this really cute, like, Gen Z. I think she's Gen Z, but she's an adorable person who does this. Again, she sells vintage items as well. Oh, my God. I've seen her on Instagram. I've seen her. She's such an adorable. And I think she grew up in. In Africa. Africa.
31:23Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, I think Nigeria or somewhere else. And she's so, like, confident and out there. Super confident. Amazing. And she doesn't care, and she does it, and I'm like, wow. Yeah, yeah. She really is super cool. And, like, yeah, and she's really, like, hustling and on her own. On her own. Like, she's doing it all. I love that. She's so cute.
31:38Hebah Baker:And she has like her mom and her aunt's closets. And her grandmother. Oh my gosh. She shows all her like different bags and like all their collections. So she runs the Instagram page. She's just launched this platform. It's hers. It's hers. It's her platform. And I think vintage fashion in general is really like on the rise. Nouvelle Vague in Beirut is also one of the pioneers in vintage shopping. they have really nice pieces and i think that that's something that the region is was lacking yeah i still think it's missing because i love traveling to europe or the states like when i was in la for work i just kept as walking on the streets i kept finding vintage markets happening outside and i'm obsessed with jewelry but like i love eclectic pieces even i got this deconstructed blazer from like the menswear section that they reformed into their own way and I just like upcycling things.
32:34I like people that are passing things down. I love going to like Milan, walking on the streets, finding like a thrift shop. I feel we're lacking that in the region.
32:42Hebah Baker:We are lacking that. I do agree. And I think that it's hard to get the same feel as when you say you go to Milan and you walk on the street and you just pop by a store. We don't necessarily have that here. We may have that in Lebanon because Lebanon is that way. El Sercal would be a good place. El Sercal would be a great place. Guys, whoever's watching, make it happen. Yeah, make it happen. I like the story here. Honestly. And so I think these platforms, you know, while we can get them, are great. Especially if you can sell your stuff. Yeah. I need, so I have a box in my house. I'm sure you do, Hiba.
33:12Hebah Baker:I'm sure you do. I get rid of things because my closet is bursting. I'm so embarrassed. No one can see my closet. Put it on. Sorry, what's that app called that everyone uses, especially in London? Depop. So basically, and again, is a local Depop version. Oh, okay. Yeah. Because we don't have Depop here in the region. Yeah. it won't work so that's why um rohan who's the founder who created this app she decided she's like you know what we don't have this in the region she found a a missing piece in the region and she created it and i basically have does it work they pay like you get a payout before they sell no so you put your items on it's like a marketplace you put your stuff on things that you're selling and then people can just buy it from you and so they take a percentage of yeah it's like the luxury closet yeah yes exactly okay but let it on an app yeah and you can sell like different stuff so it's not limited luxury there you go only accepts certain like browns okay okay so if you just want to like you have your own things or stuff you want to and i correct me i could be wrong but maybe they i think they also photograph your piece for you and then upload it on the app and you have your own profile like it's a whole thing it's it's honestly really so yeah your profile because i downloaded it after i saw it on yours i'm like finally i found an app to do this with so it's kind of like your instagram profile uh and then you put your stuff as if It's like your Instagram page.
34:30So you can shop Hibba's closet. Exactly. Shop Jessica's closet. I think is, yeah, it's very personal. I would shop your closet. I absolutely would shop her closet. For sure. Guys, I'll let you know when my page is. Let me know. Hit me up.
34:40Hebah Baker:It'll drop and we'll announce it on Sherlock's. Go shop Hibba's closet.
34:49Hebah Baker:Okay, on to our next topic. Mustn't miss. Have you guys been eyeing something that you would like and think we absolutely should not miss? Maybe on SL probably as well. I mean we talk a lot about summer everyone's like very much into the full swing of summer we have a lot of features coming up that can help you with your packing with the linen sets cohorts different stuff like with the blues so we're seeing a lot of blues a season I saw your file and so that's coming out soon actually by the time this is out that'll be out I love the blue the roundup yes so Hiba did a roundup on soft blue pieces I'm excited obsessed yes i'm really into it yeah i'm excited there's so many things coming out but then i'm also finding it weird because everyone's now launching their fall winter collection which is very confusing and you're confused you're like okay i'm seeing crochet and then i'm seeing leather jackets which one do i go for which one because like you're seeing all of the new things because now obviously everything's on sale and you want to find like new pieces but then you have winter stuff but at the same time it's summer we're torn this is the struggle of being a fashion girl literally i must say though i'm very excited for winter because we have so many jackets that we bought uh so many suedes that like i i'm itching to pull out yeah i mean you have to travel for that though because our winter in the region will not happen it's just a jacket it's just not even it's a jacket it's a it's a it's a linen wrap around a shawl at the max I wore a leather jacket yesterday.
36:21Hebah Baker:No, you didn't. Where? In July in Dubai. Yeah, I went to the mall. Okay, that's fine. I can wear a jacket. It's minus like three in the mall. In the mall, yeah. It's minus three in the mall. It makes sense. I was like, you know, I can pull it off. It was fine. You can definitely pull it off. You can pull anything off. Yeah. Oh my gosh. I recently watched the leading ladies with Sainababe. Yes, amazing. She is a powerhouse of a woman, guys. I mean, if you haven't watched it, I highly recommend watching it. Tonight. Just the way that she is, the way that she operates. She's like a VP or even like pretty much a CEO at Siemens.
36:53Hebah Baker:Wow. She has such an insane life in the sense that she really works for what she has. And she's just super inspiring. Generally, I love leading ladies because you just get to know women that are really killing it in a very male-dominated industry. So that's really fun and really cool. You need to watch that. Yeah. And I feel like you've interviewed a few people recently. We have a few fun little black books coming up to do with interiors. And we have the Jude interview coming up, which I think is a nice read. And, yeah, I think everything now is just purely summer focused. And also, by the way, the street sale get the look features on SL have been, like, such a game changer for my packing.
37:39Hebah Baker:Like, I got really inspired by Chego. She's the creator on social media. she had like the scarf trend you know the oh yes yes i love that i fully adopted that this summer i love it too it's like a replacement of a belt yes you absolutely can rock it what do you mean i wore it as a scarf i also wore a scarf as a top strapless yes red scarf for an outfit actually with these jorts oh cute super cute guys i literally i'm loving it i'm loving scarves honestly on your head yeah on your waist yeah or your bag wrapping on the bag it's honestly such a nice trend and it's like easy you know one's talking about it anymore i know it's gonna happen i knew it's gonna happen yeah everything has such a peak and it blows my mind because i'm like i can't believe like this sheep trend of like things having such a moment and taking over people's lives yeah and then all of a sudden just dying did you watch that video of the girl like crying like losing her yeah like she's opening the boxes and she's like because she and she's not a little girl mind you she's like in her late 20s she's an adult yeah no she was losing it like yeah yeah because she couldn't find the one that she wanted yeah like she was open and then she starts cutting them and she was so angry and I feel bad for people who are stalking them and they probably bought so much stock to cater to the demand thinking that they were and now they're sitting there like what is with this order like borders you know we have borders in the region yeah borders closed globally but we still have it in the region they have full like full well that's what you get for falling for the trust
39:21Hebah Baker:so on to hot topic celebrity moment have you guys been seeing any celebrity news gossip lately guys did you see kum kardashian walking the balenciaga show yes i did yes what are your thoughts my thoughts weird awkward uncomfortable it was just in the music like i don't know what were they walking to what was being said it sounded like a b yeah it's very robotic and it's just very balenciaga quoted i feel it's all very eerie yeah like you're not really you kind of Yeah, you're on edge. Is it just me or does she have like really thin arms? Is that just me? It's the ozampic arm. I don't know. I was like shocked how thin her arms are.
40:08Hebah Baker:Are they? I don't know. Maybe that's just me. I just, she walks past. Maybe it was an AI video. I don't know. Maybe it was an AI video. I don't know. But I just noticed like super, super thin arms. And I was like, wow, how'd you get those arms? Because basically when you take ozampic, it's uh you lose bone density oh which is one of the side effects you lose muscle and bone density i know that you lose muscle yeah and also your bones so a lot of people are gonna have osteoporosis that is so sad that is so scary yeah yeah but that was that wasn't a crazy moment yeah honestly it was very cringe i watched it and i was so uncomfortable for her it was just it was i didn't really like the show to be honest i don't know i just thought it was like all celebrities and it's just a hype thing.
40:54It's more of a hype.
40:55Hebah Baker:Yeah, fair. I'm worried about what he's going to do for Gucci. I know. What is he going to do for Gucci? This is the biggest thing. Like already, Jonathan Anderson and Dior is like amazing. What did you think of the menswear collection? I don't have thoughts. What are your thoughts? Me too. I wasn't, I was underwhelmed. I know a lot of people were really excited when he launched it, saying that it was different, but I just didn't, I didn't understand the concept. I will say that I do think that because there's so much scrutiny right now and there are eyeballs and expectations, I think first collections are probably just underwhelming more than overwhelming and different.
41:36Hebah Baker:I am excited for the future collections. For the next, for sure, definitely. The Ladybug bag was beautiful. So cute. But I'll tell you who did an exceptional job. It's Celine. Yeah. The Celine collection with their new designer. amazing so beautiful so beautiful and Ramin Ali just showcased for the first time at a couture it was that dress that 3d dress or cutouts in it oh my gosh it was he's an amazing person yeah he's like very close to my brother and I love his work and I was like if I'm ever a bride you were gonna I've been saying that for like 30 years now yeah you're gonna get it you're gonna get it yeah that's what I mean so he did my best friend's wedding in November I like her her bridal dress.
42:18Hebah Baker:Odila's dress, right? Odila's dress was Rami. Beautiful. Yeah, so beautiful. He's amazing. Okay, noted. I'm going to go to visit today now to try on a dress. Yeah, it's in Jumeirah. Yeah, I know. It's right next to my house, actually. And he has a beautiful room to try on wedding dresses. Love. Yeah, it's a fun experience. Yeah. Yes, I've been seeing the whole scandal with Laura Piana. Oh, wait, hold on. I did not see that. What are you talking about? Yeah, so now they're under judicial administration uh same thing that happened with Dior recently because they've been fine they found out that they have been working with Chinese workspaces um and they're exploiting labor workers so they've been working 90 hour work days they've been paying them like four euros um I think an hour um and they've been assaulting them um if they ask for their money uh and then And also there was an expose, I think it was in 2024 by Bloomberg, where they showed that the wool producers from Peru that they've been working with, they're not paying them like the amount.
43:23Oh, my gosh. For the wool. And now people are talking about like the markups and people paying three to five thousand euros for like a cashmere sweater. And like, obviously, they're not paying them the same amount. So there's a whole lot. That's crazy. So they're now being investigated, I think, for a year to see their work. And their practices. Exactly. And the same thing just happened at Dior. Yes, I remember that. Yeah, and then kind of like it went silent. Yes. And I kind of feel like, and I was reading the comments and someone made a very valid point. It's like, how does this differ from fast fashion?
44:00A hundred percent. You know, because the whole point of it is that, you know, like we're working different craftsmanship, all of that. so it's kind of similar to high fashion in the sense of like it's kind of scary absolutely i
44:13Hebah Baker:find that that's just so unethical yeah and i honestly i i applaud the internet and like the the space that we're in for us to like really hold people accountable for these things like you can't get away with this stuff anymore no absolutely not gonna pay a price tag for something where you're treating your workers yeah in that way that's crazy for sure well on a more lighter or no? Did you guys hear that Pete Davidson is having a baby? I did. I don't know who with, but I saw his new girlfriend. One of many. I don't know. I can't keep up honestly. He dated like every stunning woman in Hollywood.
44:47Hebah Baker:He has dated every single person. But what's his trick? I'm still curious. So someone was saying it's his BDE. Is it? Oh, I'm saying can you understand what I mean when I say that? BDE. Yeah, so it's not his humor. Oh, okay. Energy. It's not him being funny or being on Saturday night life probably the humor guys the rumors are the bde but i feel i mean he's when you think about it he's literally dated everyone big shots every single kate beckinsale remember did he date her yeah did he oh yeah what happened to her yeah yeah i don't know she's gorgeous beautiful she hasn't made any new movies recently though so i don't know everyone's talking about love island i have such fomo i have not watched love island but everyone's talking about it it's it's insane I think for the first time this season, they have been like America has been very involved with the voting and they've been very opinionated to the point where it's impacted the whole show.
45:43Did it? It's impacted. Yeah. And there was a lot of bullying happening, a lot of opinions that were being brought up that two girls from the season left because they pulled them out. Like they walked out? No, they pulled them out of the show producers. Oh, wow. Because they found racial slurs from their past. No way.
46:01Hebah Baker:like Facebook again being held accountable yeah wow but then like there's a lot of takes on this of saying that people are not allowed grace anymore because of mistakes that they've done in the past but then also it's like you do need to hold people accountable and it's good so there's there's a lot of it's a gray matter right it's a very gray matter because now it's like there's a lot of opinions online that you kind of feel you can never win yeah um but then also it's there's been like a lot of light sheds on toxicity that they're allowing on the show so people want to view toxic behavior it's entertaining it's entertaining and they provoke it as well as producers so a lot of people are saying that the producers are doing this on purpose to get more engagement for sure yeah i'm sure it's probably a strategy yeah so kind of yeah i think that's where people are saying that like the way that producers are going about reality shows actually very toxic and unethical yeah and they shouldn't condone this behavior because like you're impacting people's lives yeah and also is it just me or did you hear about how well i think was love island one of the the guys served in the idf and one of the female contestants is palestinian yes i heard well it's over now though right they chose the winner oh did they nobody give me any spoilers I might watch it.
47:20I hope you don't see it on Instagram because it's like all over. I feel like it is everywhere.
47:24Hebah Baker:I dodge stuff a lot. I'm like, oh, dodge. I mean, even if you see it, you still need to like see the whole process of it. Yeah, true. Actually, I need to see how they became. There's also something about a couple, tell me if I'm wrong, Huda and Kris. Yes. Okay, because Huda Beauty, Huda Kattan joked about how she's the original Huda and Kris because her husband is Kris. Oh, is he? And that's all I saw. Yeah, that's all I saw. I mean, I was really rooting for Huda because she's Middle Eastern. Is she the Palestinian? Yes. Oh, she's the Palestinian. but her behavior was so toxic everyone was like you need to see a therapist asap yeah i mean most of them do right everyone needs to see a therapist we all need to see there we all do like we need to make therapy like your priority like your matcha yeah like the matcha that you have every morning especially for men like if any especially for men if any man is watching this please normalize therapy there's nothing wrong with therapy there's nothing wrong with talking about it There's nothing wrong with therapy.
48:16Hebah Baker:Like, you're a green flag if you go to a therapist. Yeah. 100%. For me, it's like, you go to therapy, like, whatever it is that you're dealing with, I will forgive you. I will forgive you. Because you're working on yourself. Well done. And I think this is such an important topic that no one talks about. 100%. Normalized therapy, and especially for the Middle Eastern culture, when I told my mom, like, oh, I'm going to see a therapist, she's like, why? What's wrong with you? Exactly. And I'm like, there's nothing. I just need someone to kind of like talk to you through certain things to get rid of like certain traits that I have, like subconscious conditioning that I carried on, probably subconsciously like through my lineage, generations.
48:53Hebah Baker:Family trauma, childhood trauma, which is not necessarily, it doesn't have to be like you had a traumatic experience, but in general, you're unlearning. 100%, but like we all came from war. I'm an Iraqi, my parents came from war. Palestinian came from war. We all had war. Lebanese came from war. You know, Armenia? yeah same thing so it's like we do have it stored in our body and we do need to release it and because within our parents generation they never processed yeah absolutely because they never had the tools i tell my dad all the time like he did not heal through your trauma like do you want to talk about this like excuse me why are you blowing up in this matter and he's just like what are you saying it's just so true yeah it is very true i've seen my mom and my dad heal through my healing oh I love that you know which is such a beautiful and assured that when you can now speak to them about things like my mom's also shocked sometimes when I come to her saying certain things she's like why are you saying this I'm like because I'm working through it for me and for you yeah and like also I don't want to pass anything down to my kids as well 100 % that is exactly the also the main aim is that you don't want to pass it down to your future children hypnotherapy is great too.
50:00Hebah Baker:It's amazing. I've never tried hypnotherapy. It's really highly suggested. Should I? Highly suggested. It's really good. Do you have any recommendations in the region or no? Yes I will give you the amazing she's Palestinian woman that I went to. She really helped me work through certain things and I feel like unlike normal therapy when it's hypnotherapy you don't have any kind of block. Yeah because you're it's your subconscious. You're in different states. So you access your subconscious that's the whole point it's like 94 of who we are is in our subconscious yeah and only like five six percent is what we think like that's what's in our conscious but subconsciously is where like you know sometimes when you're driving a car and you don't know how you got from point a to point yeah because your mind's like your mind is subconsciously already doing it without you having to think about it so insane like muscle memory exactly done so with hypnotherapy they actually puts you in a theta state uh for your brain which is what happens when you go to sleep you go into that's a brain wave and that's when you can access your subconscious so you have to be ready though like you have to be ready to just be super vulnerable and like let go of everything and you have to kind of also trust the therapist yeah for sure i'm i'm super down to try it's an amazing experience obviously it's not for i mean i I think to do therapy, you need to be ready, because I remember for years, a lot of my friends were like, oh, you should go, blah, blah, blah, and it's like, no, I talk too much anyway.
51:31I don't need to go and talk more. But then when you're ready, you're like, okay, I'll go. And you found it like an amazing experience. Yeah, it was very helpful, yeah.
51:43Hebah Baker:Guys, any products that you can't live without, anything that you recommend, because obviously I'm such a beauty girl. We just did a post on SL about mini travel products that I love and they're super great for travel, but any products that you can't live without any beauty products um i want to recommend a product that i just tried this year it's by the brand um a ja nature oh yeah and uh it's the holy glow ageless eye serum oh wow and uh obviously like i'm trying to do ever anything but not go and like get botox or whatever after i got botched yes i remember that so i'm trying to get really good eye creams and serums and facials and this one I got it when I was in LA they sell it here online though you can buy it I think um noon has it and Amazon I think it's drop ship shop and chip shop and chip yeah drop ship clearly I didn't buy it in Dubai but um it smells amazing you just want to put it all over your face really it's a serum it's a serum and it has caffeine cucumber and like sunflower in it and the smell is very minimal like it's not a strong smell because I don't like things that are super scented and the texture is amazing you put it just around your eyes around your lips as well frown lines and I think it's definitely made an improvement especially for bags I mean you have great skin yeah no get it it's it's amazing I don't know what's going on Once I hit 35, the bags are bagging.
53:19The bags are bagging. The bags are bagging? No, I can't tell. Everyone's like, do salmon DNA. Oh, I heard salmon DNA is amazing. I don't know. I'm a bit scared, though.
53:28Hebah Baker:No, I think if you go to a good doctor, it's good. It's good? Yeah. I'm just scared of anything that's like... A needle. Any more injectables. I mean, I wouldn't mind doing it, but I just want to make sure it does work. And it's not like one of those... And it's not a waste. Give me three months, and then... Oh, my God. but there are some clinics in Dubai that I heard we're not actually injecting salmon yeah yeah another fish's DNA yeah because I wouldn't I think it could be trout I think it could be trout like what you mentioned earlier I think it could be trout DNA yeah oh my god oh no so you need to go to a trusted dog I can recommend the one for you if you're interested to go to salmon yes I would love to because you need to get a needle as well that's super thin you don't want to get those like thick needles that scar your face but does it leave your face like does it leave yeah I heard I heard good things about it.
54:14I just don't know where. It's a bit risky. So the safer option is the serum. So maybe, yeah, I'll just buy that cream. Get the serum anyway because it smells so good. Oh, yeah.
54:23Hebah Baker:Just for the fragrance. I'll send it to you. It's really good. I love that. I recently came across the, well, I talked about this in a previous pod, I think, but I recently came across this ad or someone's TikTok, I forget what it was. But you know this umbrella for your phone? Yeah. You need to get one. I keep forgetting to get one. It's so cute. And it's so annoying when your phone just goes like temperature. Yeah, oh, I hate that. Temperature's too hot. I mean, some people won't know what it's like because they don't live in Dubai. Yeah, true, true. That's true. They won't know. Yeah. But we get this warning on our phone that says temperature's too hot.
54:59Hebah Baker:With the thermometer. Yeah. And I'm like, why? I'm sure you can find them maybe in like Virgin Megastore or something. You can literally find them on there. Listen, I'll find this for you in like two minutes. Literally. It's so easy to find. I'll do this. But I keep forgetting to buy it and I think it's such a great product for the summer. Yeah, it is. HIPAA's got you. Especially on the beach. I'll send you a link. Exactly, especially on the beach. And some people's comments in that post were like, why are you on your phone when you're on holiday? I'm like, who isn't on their phone in general?
55:23Hebah Baker:To take pictures. Take photos. Check emails. If you're tanning, that's when I'm on my phone the most. I'm like, let me. Oh, really? I listen to like, Teta Brainwaves and I just do a meditation. I need to do that. But you're one of a kind. Yeah, I need to do that. I need to do that. I would love to be that person. however I am scrolling on Tik Tok I'm Jessica anything you've seen recently or like like recently in terms of beauty products or products in general I already spoke about it the huda beauty oh yeah I'm just gonna keep talking about it I I'm actually telling everyone to just buy it yeah clearly buy it they've never sent me products this is not an ad but I truly think it's amazing and another, you know me, like I've spoken about that before, maybe like on our...
56:09Hebah Baker:Videos on Upside and stuff like that. Yes, exactly. Like I love Another 13 as a perfume and I rather animalique, but right now I smell the Louis Vuitton fleur de desert. I don't know if I'm saying it right. Sounds nice. The flower of a desert basically. Okay, there we go. And it smells so good. Are you wearing it today? Yes, I am. I'm going to smell you after this. I can't even explain it. Is it floral? Is it gourmand? It's a bit floral, but then it's, I don't know. When you walk into LV, when you smell that perfume in LV, it's that. It's that. Oh, wow. It's a boutique smell. It smells just, and I'm just like obsessed with it.
56:44Is there oud in it? It's like a musky scent.
56:48Hebah Baker:We'll just smell just after that. I'm going to smell you. We're going to smell you. Sniff me. And LV's coming out with makeup as well. Yeah. So that's also exciting. LV's making some moves. And honestly, I love that it's so long lasting as well. Like I spray it and it's, I don't know. forever it's just you guys i don't know if it's just me but i can never smell my own perfume yeah i can sell my you can yeah oh no i can't smell my own perfume too this i can smell like another 13 and by right because it's part of your skin yeah because you literally use it all the time right yeah but maybe it's like i don't know yeah if you have a signature yeah but no just in general i don't smell maybe i'll have a whiff of it yeah but i can't but i'm the same as you i'm the same as you like some people what at the end of the day i'll be like oh you smell so nice i'm do I yeah I mean I've been wearing I have to say this it's very random but I've been wearing the same concealer for the past like 15 plus years Wow they don't even sell it here and don't get cute they don't sell it here anymore it's called cover derm oh and it's I think it's a US based brands i don't know if i'm wrong is it drugstore no it's it's pharmacy so you can only buy it from the pharmacy and i was reading up about it as well so it has like spf rosehip oil which uh i'm gonna talk about as well and it has vitamin a and e oh amazing so it has like all these good characteristics but then also it's super pigmented so i just love how you can wear it and it stays on your full coverage it's full coverage and i also like now that i found out that it also has vitamins to help yeah it's like skincare benefits yeah exactly where do you get it from so i order it's like i find it online and i do shop and ship shop and you guys are addicted to shopping yeah yeah i've never done it i should there are so many things like there are italian brands that don't ship to the uae australian brands australian brands also if you want to buy anything from like any any any any brands any brands where here there's like a times 10 markup and then you can find it cheaper in europe order it to your shop and ship accounts and they'll send it to you here it's not even expensive does it take long no it takes like three days yeah yeah very quick you don't wait that long at max five days like it's like quite it's quite fast interesting it's honestly a game changer and another thing so rosehip oil i think it was more than 10 years ago my first job as a fashion buyer um our company got approached by this korean skincare brands that sell like it's kind of like a department store of all korean skincare but at that time korean skincare was not like a hit so they were selling us like opening a store for like all korean skincare products and we were looking into it we're like we know it's clean but at the same time it wasn't popular like it wasn't like a thing people didn't care about clean and now in hindsight that store would have done amazing now where are they now we need to check but the ceo of that company would always be in every meeting just putting rosehip oil on his face constantly oh as a man yeah and it's apparently it is like in all of their products and it's sworn by Koreans uh to be to have such good so I looked it up and Kate Middleton uses it religiously so I'm like I need to buy okay no yeah I use rosehip oil a lot as well like just for your skincare on your face do you use it at night, in the morning, under your makeup?
1:00:17Because it's a bit oily, I would just put a bit, I usually put it at night. At night?
1:00:22Hebah Baker:Rosehip oil, that's a good tip. What about you, do you have any new products? So I recently discovered this skincare brand called Novex Bare, and I did a whole session on learning about this product, and they're really science-backed products. You guys know about this app, I think it's called Ink Beauty, I forget what it's called, but it's basically an app that you can research how good or bad the products are, how clean the products are. And they have like a 99 % rating. So, so good. And really great skincare products. They told me to test it just using it on its own, exclusively use their products and not try anything else and see how you feel.
1:01:04Hebah Baker:And I absolutely love their products. Really nice products. They have a really good lip balm. They have a really good face mist, a vitamin C cream. They have a lot of like a really nice skin cleanser like a balm which comes in a tube So you're not like you know how bombs mostly like they have to go. Yeah, yeah, really unhygienic Yeah, this one is like in a tube and speaking of bomb. There's another brand called dr. Althea. It's I love dr. Great there their moisturizer their balm as well their Makeup removing balm again. It comes in like a twisty to know nice So twist takes out the amount that you need and use it.
1:01:41Hebah Baker:It's great It's also the same with Drunk Elephant, right? They're moisturizers. Oh, yeah. Yes, Drunk Elephant's moisturizers are also great packaging. Yeah, yeah. Honestly, packaging with beauty is, I think, is really important. 100%. Especially with the hygiene. Like, it's super good to have that. So, recommend those too. Okay, great. Noted.
1:02:02Hebah Baker:Okay, guys, we're going to move on to dilemmas where we answer people's questions. So, the first one is, I've been invited to my ex's wedding. We're on good terms, but my current boyfriend hates the idea. Do I go or skip it? Skip it. Skip it. I think so too. Really? I mean, it first depends. Is your boyfriend coming with you? A, there's a few criteria. Right? Yeah. And how, I mean, if it's your ex and your friends, do you guys feel that you can be friends with your exes? So I was just talking to my friends about it today because I'm really good friends with some of my exes. Some not so much. And I think if there's any residual, like, lingering tension or heartbreak or whatever it is.
1:02:45Or animosity even. Yeah, anything, I think definitely no. But if you kind of both moved on, then why not? I mean, yeah, I guess you can be friends. But then if her current boyfriend hates him. Or is uncomfortable with the situation. Then, yeah, it's a no. But then also, like, why? If you're secure in yourself and you're secure enough in who you are and you're confident and you know what you and your girlfriend have, then what's the problem?
1:03:09Hebah Baker:See, this is why guys need therapy because, you know, are you secure enough in yourself? And they'd be like, what? A lot of things have to deal with emotional maturity. If you're both mature in the relationship and the partnership and there's trust and there's no jealousy, which all lingers from, like... Insecurities. Insecurities. Absolutely. Then you wouldn't have a problem with it. You know what? You do raise a good point and I do see that, but equally, again, it depends on the situation. I think it's very specific. It's very situational. It's situational. I do agree with that. It's like, you know, you have to kind of dissect it, like, what's making you uncomfortable as the partner?
1:03:43Hebah Baker:You know, is the partner going to be there with you, you know, and feel like he's included in whatever it is? And why does he feel insecure to not, you know, there's a few things. It's a tricky question. But ultimately, it leads to, are you emotionally mature? Exactly. Always. Always sums up to that. Yeah. great okay the next question is I need a wow outfit for a girls dinner in Mykonos something that'll turn heads but still feel effortless where should I look I definitely would recommend Pat's bow oh yeah I was gonna say bow but I was gonna say pow bow that's a thousand percent but Pat's bow has like the most amazing crochet dresses like with shell details like you have so many different options as well yeah I think that's a really nice summer option I feel like the summer dresses are killing it this summer I've been seeing amazing a lot of dresses gorgeous outfits and I think for for like a a girls night was and I think for like a girls dinner and make it all I feel like we dress for for women dress for women we dress for the girls 100 % I mean some girls dress for men but like some girls more more so you dress for a woman but really we dress for women and I feel like a girls dinner like i'm pulling out all the stops at least for me if i know if it's a girl's dinner yeah like you're going more than the guys i'm like gonna pull out the stops the earrings the accessories like i definitely think it's a it's a great recommendation pat pow and then bow bow beautiful dresses like really nice um and also unass is killing it with their resort wear summer yeah yeah i think they're doing an exceptional job they and and especially because if you can get it in two hours it's like the best thing ever honestly i love unas i'm like addicted addicted to unas so like they say two hours but then you get it in an hour and a half or even an hour yeah and i love that now everyone is competing with now so now everyone's on the two hour bump yes i see that too and i'm like great job yeah we're like going but the competition is strong you want to go faster do you want to do in 15 minutes noon 15 is another one yeah but isn't that more like groceries it is groceries but still i mean we digress shop, Insta shop, whatever it is.
1:05:53It's phenomenal.
1:05:55Hebah Baker:I even ordered, I needed so there's a cat that came to my parents' house. A stray cat. That actually was someone else's cat. And they abandoned this cat. It's such a cute cat. It's a Persian cat. They abandoned the cat. Because it has a collar but no microchip. And it had like a, it was sick and I nursed it back to health and the vet predicts that it's been out on the streets for weeks. That's so sad. Maybe months. And they predict that because the cat was sick, maybe the owner just like abandoned it. Anyways, now we're fostering this cat. That's so cute. Sweetheart. And I noticed the cat was like, you know, wanting to play and I felt like she didn't like the toys that she had.
1:06:38Hebah Baker:So on Insta shop at 11 p.m. at night, there was a pet store that was open and it delivered pet toys within 30 minutes. That's so Dubai, right? It's like, so Dubai. At 11 p.m. So I was like, here you go, my child. The cat was probably like, thanks, mom. I'm here for you. That's foster mom. Such a cute cat. But yeah, service is incredible. Incredible. The next question is, I want to try skin boosters or something tweaky before my trip, but I don't want to look done. What treatments are actually worth it? Well, we were just talking about this, right? We literally were just talking about this. We were talking about that serum that you think is like...
1:07:16Yeah, Asian Nature, they have great serums. Yeah. And also face creams if you want to just do that route. Yeah. Also the salmon DNA boosters.
1:07:27Hebah Baker:I do think as well, like, if you want something that's not, well, it really depends. I think if you're, it depends how long your trip is until, like, if you have a bit of time. Yeah. Then I do think face gym is a great way to, like, sculpt your face. Face gym is great, yeah. But you do have to do a few sessions for you to be able to feel sculpted and, like, lifted. But I do like, I like that having that where it's non-invasive treatments. or maybe just hydrafacials yeah hydrafacials are great facials are amazing like i always feel like it just like pulls everything together does hydrafacial also include um extraction yes yeah yeah extraction's so good extraction's amazing i think everyone should do the extraction a thousand percent yeah there's um there's or skin aesthetics which is a clinic in jamera nice and they have a facialist her name is victoria and she's so so good however it does put a dent in your back account know oh yeah it's an expensive it hurts your pocket pretty expensive but i just love the way they look every time yeah such a good um option i do think if you're gonna go on a trip you have to be super careful with what treatments you do especially if the trip involves like the sun yeah like protection spf for sure but definitely like these little treatments with like serums and things like that so yeah surely they can they can really work yeah so the next question is it's my birthday next month and everyone keeps asking me what I want to do but I'm in my low-key era any ideas for something that still feels special I would say I love a supper club idea yeah I love it when people can just you gather like a small group of people that's still very low-key but still very intimate but still very dress up so you can still dress up but it's still very low-key I love the idea of a supper club I think it's really cool and actually my birthday's coming up in a couple months and I was thinking about like what I would want what do you want to do because it's not a big age.
1:09:13Hebah Baker:But, like, I think it's nice to do, like, an intimate dinner. I agree. 100%. Yeah. I feel like I'm not very much into... Actually, a friend of mine did a bowling night. That's fun. At an arcade, which is also quite low-key. But you can't get dressed up? Can't get dressed up. Well, you could, actually. I mean, you could, but you could wear, like, a dress, maybe. Yeah. I love... I mean, you would know when I say it. I love a boat day. Oh, yeah. I love a boat day. Him is always on a boat. Just FYI. I'm on a boat. Every time I check her stories, she's on a boat. I love boats and it's so accessible here like people don't realize how easy it is to just rent a boat and you can like book it for two hours four hours five hours watch the sunsets you bring drinks snacks like we always get fruit platters charcuterie boards actually that fruit platter that you got at waitrose oh yeah go to waitrose guys it'd be great that talar did a supermarket we love a good fruit platter I love it yes it's amazing and they also sell I think it's in spinaise or waitrose or they they sell charcuterie boards already already cuts with meats and cheeses and everything and it's right by the dubai marina dock oh so like you just stop there it drops your car you're there pick up all of your snacks go there you can have your drinks you can have your foods music sun it's amazing i love that hipaa recommended a boat for a low-key birthday i know and that and that is low-key you're like could you imagine this is abroad they're like renting a boat it's not a low-key birthday i mean i i go with three people sometimes yeah yeah no and it is it is no it's because dubai is so accessible and you can do it so low-key you can tell we were raised here literally just like low-key is just having a yacht for your birthday but it is and it's not that expensive like i think people think it would cost like so much no no it's very it's actually affordable and actually it's a good idea I actually think that's good I like that idea I need an invitation do that for your birthday yeah exactly well it's super hot still the weather but in a few months it's gonna be great no it's in September it's still hot so dinner for an indoor birthday yeah I would say like you can go to the arcade and do like fun like arcade games it's not fully my thing but some people love that and then a supper club idea.
1:11:24Hebah Baker:I just love that idea of a supper club. It's super cool. Or like even renting out a private space in those venues. Or going to like a staycation and they have like these villas. You can rent a villa. I mean, all of these are not low-key. I can't believe. Guys, it was such a pleasure to speak with you today. Jessica, so happy to have you on. We're going to have you on more.
