In short
Celebrity wedding chatter (including Taylor Swift’s wedding and the “random guest list”), reactions to Katie Price’s new documentary, and a discussion on burnout and setting boundaries.
Guests
Hermione Olivia (fashion/beauty and lifestyle contributor; wears Camilla and Mark and Totem; discusses summer style, Mandrake spa, and beauty tech like Foreo LED mask) and Billie Batia (Rick’s/“Brixo Billy” fashion brand collaborator; promotes her summer dress collection and talks about beauty and skincare).
Key claims
Katie Price’s documentary feels “dark” and may reflect how long-term trauma and media scrutiny can harden someone; viewers discuss collective responsibility for how women like her were treated. For weddings, the guest list seems driven by positive relationships/industry proximity, and a private ceremony may have happened before the public stadium-scale event. Burnout can happen even when you love your life; the fix is boundaries, saying no, and removing “should” pressure.
Notable examples
Hugh Grant and Jamie Oliver on Taylor Swift’s guest list; Katie Price documentary by the team behind Louis Theroux’s Manosphere; burnout examples include skipping a hen party and calendar “blocks” for free nights.

And we are getting into all of the celebrity weddings that have gone down in the past couple of weeks. We need to talk about the random guest list.
0:42Hugh Grant? Jamie Oliver was there. Jamie Oliver was there? Why was Jamie Oliver and George there? Do you think it's just like any interaction she's had with someone that's positive, they made it onto the guest list? It really looks like that. Well, I'm really gutted that we've never had a positive interaction. We also talk about the Katie Price documentary that everyone is going to be talking about. potentially someone like her is looking for a new reason to constantly like reinvent herself and probably nothing shocks us about her anymore because she's in this like new category i think the documentary is that nothing shocks her anymore either plus all three of us have suffered from burnout in some capacity so we give you all of our tips and tricks for mitigating it i don't think i realize that you could still be burnt out from doing something that you love i thought burnout only came when you were like just sick and tired of your life i love so much of my life but it it can get on top of you to the point where you sort of feel as if you're drowning slightly.

1:49Welcome to the Sheer Likes podcast with me, Charlotte Collins. This week, I'm joined by Hermione Olivia and Billie Batia. Hi both. Hello. This is a nice combo. Isn't it? I got quite lucky today. Hi. A little crew. You know, how's everyone? Absolutely amazing. Good. Yeah, good. I can't believe it's still 31 degrees in London. I know, it's really British to just go straight in with the weather, but like, over it. That's because you've been jumping on and off a boat this weekend and now you don't have that option. I have, it's so true, it's so different. The Bakerloo line is not like a boat. Back to reality.
2:19Let's start with what we're wearing. Hermione, what are you wearing? I am wearing a Camilla and Mark blazer, very overdressed as usual, and totem jeans. I love totem jeans. Not overdressed, you just mean for the heat. Yeah, for the heat. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, cheese punchy. I am hot looking at you. I just don't know what else to wear in London. But you're an Australian. I know, I just feel uncomfortable wearing a dress around London. Do you do dresses? I know. I feel like I'm in the city. I'm always in a trouser. I get that. Shoes? YSL loafers. And where are these earrings from? Oh, these are Maria Frering.
2:45This new brand, and they're amazing. I love them. They have really incredible jewellery. Nice. Billie? I'm in Rick's eight times, Billie. You just have to. But this is basically the reason why I wanted to do this collection, because I was like because they were able to do this podcast so I'm going to like the dresses yeah no I was like guys I really need something to wear this summer yeah no it's actually so lovely and it's like the coolest it's like super thin cotton material it's keeping me so cool so pretty and we went big on the jewellery this year too so this is part of the Brixo Billy collection and I love it and I feel like it's fun and these earrings are too I didn't know it's all you I miss the jewellery memo that's great me too the jewellery bits are really you yeah I love those pieces really cool We did a really great yellow translucent beaded necklace too that's got a little silver fish on.
3:31Oh, pretty. A long silver tassel cord shell situation. Okay. And my little trusty Chanel dad sandals. Can I ask about you, we were in Cannes together, whatever that was, about eight years ago, and you were talking about what you still wear, like a vest and shorts under a dress. Yeah, that blows my mind. So I don't, like, I think it's this weird, like, comfort situation I've gotten to, but without flashing everyone's phone I just I like live in these like little vests I get that do you? because you feel too naked I can't have the clothes touch my skin I hate it that's what clothes do but like I don't know why I'm just so serious no see maybe I'd feel comfortable walking around in a dress if I took this hack from you yeah and I feel like it makes me feel like this is so TMI but if you get really sweaty it just kind of like catches it in the like yeah I get that in the middle bit so you still feel quite fresh in the dress.
4:27Yeah, fair. And in Cannes it was fresh. Oh my God. I heard it was extremely hot. It was so hot. It was so hot and that first day I did 36 ,000 steps. Yeah, it was like that. And everyone was complaining about the heat in London that week but like ultimately you go to your office and you sit in air con but we were outside in that heat from 8am until 12. It was a lot. It was a lot. Which explains the name. Which explains why we went a bit crazy. You guys are really my highlight. were we yeah oh my god i loved our dinner it was so it was really fun our dinner and our like four hour session before that you know when it's so sweaty that you are doing we pounded the rosie and it didn't touch the sides because you're just sweating i literally i could have driven a truck that night it was it was evaporating out of our skin as it was going in it's like oh one girl oh it's gone like you probably could just wring out our dresses and the rosie was coming out my best literally sexy wow I feel a bit at a loss as well I feel like my wardrobe is either like holiday or that so I'm kind of in your camp I'm wearing nothing I haven't worn a million times before these trousers are banana republic they're such a good shape you look very I love those trousers thank you so much well if the shoe fits I don't know where the shirt's from I think it's maybe Reese maybe Topshop shoes are Parenza Schula via the RealReal you always have the best shoes I said do you love a fun shoe it's your thing no thank you and that's about it glasses of jimmy fairly it's not i'm sorry to let down the side it's not very exciting no it's giving like i'm in charge and quite cheap thank you so much i think everybody's struggling a little bit in this heat in london in real seriousness it is quite hard to know what to wear every like we don't have wardrobes for every day of summer like this right like also there's only about i don't want to buy anything else for summer because there's about six weeks until it's autumn no stop i'm not really first i don't want to be that person but it's july the September 6th?
6:12No, no. September 6th is coming in hot.
6:20Let's start with things we love. What are you loving? Not talking about how summer's already done. About how summer's over. Hermione, what are you loving right now? I am loving these earrings that I spoke about. What else am I loving at the moment? You've got on here the London summer vibe. Oh, yes. Okay, as an Australian, something I love about living in London is how much the Brits just like lean in and get so excited about the summer vibe. You know, in Australia, we're used to it. So it's like a beautiful sunny day and you just kind of like get on with your business. Yeah. But here, just like seeing people in the park in their underwear sunbaking, it just like gives me so much joy.
6:49It used to be embarrassing, isn't it? No, it was so uncool. I love it. And like, you guys just lean in so hard. Everyone's so happy. Everyone's like cycling around with a huge smile on their face. And it just like, it brings joy. I wonder if like your children, for example, who will grow, like, you know, assuming that this is what summer's always gonna be like, they will grow up with this. So in 20 years, when they're our age, whatever, or 30 years, they won't be a novelty factor for them. So maybe they'll be cooler about it. No, they'll still be like that. Do you think? Yeah, I think it's like a British thing.
7:16It's like, yes, the sun is here. Yeah, because we've been in such deep, dark depression for most of you. Well, we're taught to make the most of it, right? When it happens, you don't know how long it's going to last. You want to just like cling on to it. But like, maybe this is just it now. Yeah, it makes me happy that you guys are just like... Well, I also think it's because everyone's drunk all the time. The vibes are so high. So I actually would really like to make the case and I don't know who to talk to about this. It's probably like a government issue that like, why do we do Christmas party?
7:41You know how like November to December, we all just like die. And I know we're going to talk about burnout later, but we talk about, we do these like crazy, like back to back parties. I think, why don't we do that now? Like I'm in the mood to party now, not in November. I want to stay at home in December and not like go out and get drunk. Cause it's so cold. It pulls us out of depression, having something to celebrate. Like the lights on Oxford Strait and things. Otherwise like we would all be in a dark classroom. To be clear, not trying to cancel Christmas, just the party side of things. You want to double down.
8:10Can we just party now? Everyone's planning now too, no? Yeah, that's true. That's true. I've been drunk for about a month. This is what I've never understood about Love Island. I'm like, who's going home and watching it on a summer's evening? Like, aren't people out? Yeah. It's just on quite consistently, isn't it? Yeah, but like, I'm like, now is not the time to give us like good entertainment in the evening. Whack it on in the winter. Yeah, true. But then there's something, well, you've never watched it, but when you try to then watch it in the winter, it just like, it doesn't hit the same because like the vibe is just it's summer and it's like so they need to do it in like a chalet yes it needs to be thematic yeah for the season um what's your favorite thing to do in london in the summer as an as an i was gonna call you an expat well i like wimbledon but i don't get to go as often as billy how many times is it that you'll have been to really monopolize hospitality tickets this year the reason you don't get to go is because billy took all my tickets guys get that brand hard on instagram and then in my talk i mean it's true um five times five The luckiest girl, truly the luckiest girl.
9:08So Billy's going for me, but British summertime. Yes. We are get virtual high five. Guess what we're going to do. You know this. I know. We are seeing Pitbull on Friday night. We're seeing Pitbull on Friday night. I'm so excited. The ball caps arrived. And I've got my suit ready. They're going for a world record, right? They're going, so a British summertime on Friday night. Pitbull, so it's become a thing that at Pitbull's concerts, people wear, you didn't know this last week. No, I didn't know this. This is a fun surprise for Hermione. that people wear ball caps to like dress up as Pitbull and they're going for a world record at BST on Friday night for the most amount of ball caps.
9:40I can't imagine that there's an existing record for this. Is it not his or his record already? Oh, it must be. It must be. It must be. I don't know who else makes this happen. Admittedly, I have been listening to Pitbull just to like Pitbull's out of scratch on Friday. You're really disparaging about Pitbull, but. For someone who I feel like is such a, is so fluent in things that are chic and full of taste. I just find that like, I find this incredibly conflicting that you love. You've got to keep people guessing in life. Correct. No, I actually think it makes you so much more wonderful. Good.
10:14I'm like, she's a person of the people. I'm so down to earth. I love people. I'm so excited. I think it is so fun. So I'm going back on Sunday night to see Lewis Capaldi. Oh, amazing. Which will be good. That'll be quite different vibes, I'm sure. I love him. Have you been before to BST? No, never. Oh my God. Especially when the weather's good. It's amazing. Have you been? Yeah, it's great. It's so great. I've seen, they get such a good lineup. Insane, yeah. Also, you're like done by half 10. Perfect. So nice. Yeah, it's gorgeous. What do you do with kids in the summer? What do you do with your kids here?
10:42Try and keep sane. Mm, yep. No, we actually have now built in our garden where the car usually goes, like a sand pit and like a whole water situation. Just have them outside as much as possible. Okay, nice. And then we just keep busy, like out and about the whole time. But you guys are really good at taking them to do cultural things. Yes. We're always like very busy, busy, busy at all the art galleries and exhibitions and stuff like that. That's one of the best parts about living in London, again, as an Australian. There's always so much on and there's so much happening, none of which I can think of in this moment, which is really deeply helpful for all the mothers out there.
11:13I feel like there's always like a summer fate. Yes. In those kind of like, like Richmond used to have them all the time and in Kew and I'm sure there's loads in like Nottingham places. I always think that's such a fun family day out. Yeah. And like when they set up in Queen's Park, I know every halftime they set up like a little fun fair and it's really cute. That one is really cute. It's cute, isn't it? Yeah, really cute. Okay, fun. You're also loving the new spa at the Mandrake. It launched last year. Oh yeah. Or like six months ago or something. I'm taking you both. It's amazing. It's absolutely amazing.
11:41Forget about the Mandrake. I know, it's so great. The food there is amazing as well. Yeah, it is, yeah. Have you been to air baths? I actually haven't. Okay, it's like air baths but smaller and more intimate. Okay. And it's all dark and it's like moody. And it's like you can wash the whole thing out kind of thing. It's all waterproof. But it's like a dark mud cave. And you go in and you steam. And then there's all these different showers. Like there's a rainforest shower and so on and so forth. And you put mud all over your body and like sit on these like heated mud baths. And it's absolutely amazing.
12:08It's like stepping into a holiday in Ibiza in central London. And then you walk out like a new person. That is not what my holiday in Ibiza was like. No, nothing like that. That's a different type of holiday in Ibiza. They didn't have that at Ushuaia. and that sounds so nice wait speaking of ibiza i've got a good one there's i went to this new place in london bridge called pyro oh yeah guys it's it blew my mind because you're walking down from london bridge it's about a 10 minute walk from the station but you go past borough truly street and i was thinking how on earth is there going to be a restaurant around here like it's it's really quiet you turn this corner and it's honestly like walking into a beach club they've got this unreal huge outdoor space it's really like beautifully done it's nice like like sage greens and like wooden and whatever, good music.
12:52And it's delicious Greek food. Nice. Good sleep is everything. That's why Oli's science back support is made with a blend of melatonin and L-theanine for both kiddos and grownups. So when your mind won't switch off, you've got something that can help. Erasing thoughts and restless nights won't stand a chance. Find Oli's sleep solutions for the whole family at oli.com. That's O-L-L-Y dot com. Like great vibes. Okay, fun. We did a trend report on Sheerlucks about a month ago about how Greek food is like massively trending in London because obviously Gaia opened last year. Nam-Mos was just open. By the way, we should say the night after we saw you in Cannes, we went to Nam-Mos for dinner and I had, honestly, the time of our lives.
13:36We got there at 7.30 and we're supposed to go to the Spotify event afterwards. And we left at midnight. We were like every song, you know, when you're like, we'll go after the next song. We'll go after the next song. Hodge bless her, didn't know a single one of these songs. She was a hype girl for three hours. Like no one is a better like girl's girl hype girl because the three of us were just standing on the table and she was just going.
13:59Anyway, so Greek food having a real moment. Who doesn't love like dips? I love Tera Maslata. So much. Tera Maslata is my absolute weakness. Billy, thanks for loving. Rick's OX Billy, all right. So sorry guys. We'll go back there again. Got a collection promo. And I think congrats. How did your launch go? The launch was so great. We missed you. I know, I was still in camp. I was actually at Namos, so I didn't review. Thank you. I feel so, I feel really proud of it. And it's gone so, so well. And people have just been incredibly kind about the collection. And we've sold out of like a lot of it already, which blows my mind.
14:35We sold out of the yellow dress on pre-order. Like it didn't, it didn't even go live to everybody. Polly was actually raving about it also on last week's podcast. It's just a goodie. Look, I run hot. So these are just dresses to help cool down your core Polly temperature. And yeah, I feel like I very rarely say, or I'm really proud of that. But when I get people messaging me just saying how good they feel in the dresses, I'm like, oh yeah, I'm really proud of myself for that. You should be. Well done. And also like, what a great brand to do it with. Yeah, they're the best. I just love like Henrietta and all of their epic.
15:05The whole team is amazing. Honestly, like I'm not a visually, actually maybe that's a disservice. I can be visually creative, but they're obviously like such talent that work on the team because I say things to them. I'm like, here's my mood board and I like this color and I love this print and can we combine this and maybe make this bigger and do this? And within minutes they're sat there pulling up these cards and they're like, like this? I'm like, how did you climb inside my brain and pull this out there? Just, it's such a treat to work with people that talented. Is there stuff that you'd wanted to do the first time around that you've now been able to do?
15:39Not necessarily, it's more we had learnings from what people loved the first time around but also just what wore really well. Like this is the Aprila dress that we did in black silk the first time which was a great like run around the city dress but it's it's quite heavy and so I wanted to do something that was so much lighter that you can kind of like float through the city and take on holiday and like if you want to you can probably sleep in this yeah it's giving nightgown in a good way so you're involved all the way down to the print yeah I love that everything yeah so beautiful thank you it's it's like it's so great to flex a really different muscle than what you do every day and it's just so interesting like there's there's so many people that there's a print designer and there's a pattern cutter and they're like one of many of these teams and you're like wow you know we look at something we buy in a store and we're like oh just a dress like there's so much that goes into that and that that's a good like it's a really good lesson to learn and also if you work in this industry to be able to have an insight into how product is actually made yeah is is a useful education right yeah totally because our like our brains don't know that or like we deal with the end result exactly interact with that so it is it's been a I love that for you.
16:46You've also got the M &S at Silverstone collection. Yeah, M &S. Wow, they are just killing it. All guns blazing right now. Yeah, a girl in the office was wearing, you know, this incredible Bottega-esque leather jacket the other day. And I was like, is that like vintage Bottega? And she was like, no, it's M &S. Still current. That woven stuff was so clever. Incredible. Yeah, and all their summer collections, like the little brodery dresses and two pieces. And it feels luxurious. I know, they're really good. Very well done. But it's the activations and the moments, It's fantastic. Yeah, so they did this campaign.
17:16So obviously it was Silverstone this weekend and they did a runway takeover with a F1X M &S collection, which was see now, buy now. And that like for a high street brand, that is just like leagues ahead, isn't it? Madness. But also like, I mean, poor models, that was hot to be wearing leather, like up and down the pit lanes. But visually it was like really arresting and it looked great. And I was like, oh yeah, I want that. I want that, I want that, I want that. And I don't feel like that happens that often even when you see a runway show like you can appreciate it as a collection that a designer has like created this kind of vision but it's so rare that you can you know add to basket at like 30 pounds 25 pounds 40 pounds like a very accessible price point and i feel like we've seen other high street brands like try to do that without a huge amount of success and ultimately it comes down to whether the product is good or not right yeah and mls i feel like everybody's back on everybody's conscious is like totally kind of have been some very good ones lately caramel which is a kids wear brand which is stunning and beautiful did a zara i almost bought every single piece it was so amazing and it's really high quality um did you see that stella did one with h &m yeah i mean so good and they're bringing out a collection with wardrobe nyc that i am one month i literally have it in my diary that is that is mega it's gonna be amazing just when h &m you think that they can't come up with another you're like okay they've done everyone they come out with somebody new who would be your dream h &m collab i mean it's got to be Chanel hasn't it do you think like a Matthew Blasi H yeah do you think that would or a liar would be amazing yeah I feel like that would work really well that would work because that's in the sort of wardrobe you need this kind of simple classic but then you know the legacies of that is about I mean that is about one that in it was like 2011 or 2012 and I remember being in the library at uni and being with friends who like couldn't have cared less and I was like just get in the queue.
19:05Just get in the queue. Just sit there and keep refreshing, okay? Leave it. Maybe a playful brand like a Loewe or something like that would work. Yeah, Loewe would be really colourful and weird vibes. Or like a Louise Trotter at Bottega. Okay, Billie, something else you are loving. Wow. I've not seen a jelly mask like that. I know, it's quite strange, isn't it? It's really cool. Innovative. Tell us, what is this? It's the Foreo FAQ 202 mask. And it is a red light LED therapy mask, but it really focuses on like hyperpigmentation if you have uneven skin tone sunspot basically look summer is booked and busy and this is basically what i'm using in the evening for a 10 minute reset because the thing is with these products and what faria really recommend is that you have to be consistent with it but hyperpigmentation is a massive thing for south asian skin i've like i've had a spot here a spot here a spot here and the second i touch it it just immediately marks but the led like really helps reduce the hyperpigmentation on your skin.
20:04I love that. I also really love that it's got a really good gap for your eyes because the one that I have, as much as I love it, you can't open your eyes for 10 minutes. And I'm not very good at just taking 10 minutes with my eyes shut. I know. They really tell you, don't they? Like, whatever you're doing, if you're mindful of it, like, don't go on your phone. You can read and go on your phone. You can do whatever you want. Watch all the TV shows I want. I feel like people are investing in beauty tech more and more. Do you use a... I actually don't, but I could use that because I get pigmentation.
20:30Because it's really bad pigmentation, actually. do you yeah and it gets worse when you have babies that's interesting like the flare-ups when you're pregnant are insane wow yeah it's part of the joyful experience yay something else to add to the list what fun um but people really are investing in beauty technology now more than ever are they like it's madness but i think you want to have something that's really trusted in foreo such a trusted brand like so many people have used those cleansers and this is just you know a continuation of like the innovation that they do and yeah i'm into it it's also definitely the chic is what i've seen it is right someone's gonna turn it into an accessory aren't they also lightweight i feel like i could travel this easily whereas the other ones are a bit clunky but you know like if you're taking that on an airplane yeah i'd feel way more comfortable putting that on on a flight than like those white ones yeah that's what i've got the big white one cumbersome so true okay well this is it if you'd like to find out more about faq 202 check out the link and our exclusive code below there's a code excellent
21:29okay time to talk celebrity this is duffy's making a comeback duffy of like warwick avenue fame can you sing a song for me yeah oh i would have gone with begging you for mercy oh yeah good good good good i feel like that bit of minds is the difference you know so you're like party go I'm like, here's a sad follow. Here's a depressing song about a breakup. Yes. There's also some fun in there as well. That is more the one that came to me as well. There's a lot about you guys, clearly. This, though, I'm fascinated about. The team that did Louis Theroux's Manosphere have produced this documentary about Katie Price.
22:06Josh did a little teaser pic this morning. Oh, I've heard lots. Is he part of it? No, but he's done a podcast with Katie Price. No way. Fascinated. I think this documentary is really it goes deep and dark I'm sure and it's quite exposing but I I want to watch it yeah me too how much do you know about her? not a huge amount but I look at her and I it does kind of break my heart yeah because I think we were talking last week on the podcast about Lena Dunham and Fame Sick and talking about kind of the responsibility of those of us in everybody the collective responsibility of the noughties and nineties and how we treated women and how we allowed the media to treat women and you know to an extent still much still so much of that goes on but i think that george and katie price is probably such a product of a society that treated women and women like her in a certain way that you you know so much of kind of the way she has ended up is the fault of everybody else and you know so many of the things that she's ridiculed for actually are a kind of inevitable result of just the that level of scrutiny and criticism and public exposure but also i think it's maybe addictive to constantly be in the news so i think people are constantly like potentially someone like her is looking for a new reason to constantly like reinvent herself and it's gotten more and more and more extreme and kind of like darker as it's gone along yeah and probably nothing shocks us about her anymore because she's in this like new category yes i think that's so true i think the documentary is that nothing shocks her anymore either because she's had such a tortured and tormented existence and i there is like a there there is a collective responsibility to how someone responds to that trauma when they haven't been cared or considered.
23:47But I do think there's an element of, she has circulated the news for decades. And what do you do without that? It is, yeah, you're so true in what you're saying that it's part of her being. But I also think that when you see the darkest sides of humanity, which I think you know outside of any traumatic events that have happened to her like the online bullying that she gets about her son Harvey who is severely disabled you know whatever the level of trolling that she's exposed to about so many different elements of her life but I feel like that in particular because that is just so dark it probably builds such a sense of sort of pessimism or cynicism or whatever in you that that you become hardened to sort of normality right and and I think that she's almost like a caricature of a person but perhaps you move away from the kind of normal emotional planes on which we all operate when you are exposed kind of day in day out for like 30 years to the darkest opinions anyway but she's she does seem quite jokes she's she's still out there she's still doing her thing honestly so fascinating to listen to josh's podcast with her as well oh she's she's invited on a night out i'm like wake up dead i wonder what night out with casey price is like i just want to wrap her up and give her a hug and take her home and that's why yeah i agree i agree i agree there is like there's a sense of wanting just to protect her, be kind to her.
25:08Yeah, I agree. I think it's a bit like the kind of, I talked about Monica Lewinsky last week and those people who had just, I don't know, were just these kind of burnt at the stake in the 90s and noughties who hopefully now can get a bit of redemption. I hope that what Lena Dunham's book did for her, this documentary will do for Katie Price. Anyway, other things, weddings, Taylor Swift. I mean, where do we start? The wedding of the year. I have thoughts. I'd love to know yours I have thoughts too okay go on I have a theory that she must have done a private ceremony elsewhere with her family because she just doesn't seem like the kind of person but maybe I misread her to do a whole stadium and over a thousand people the reason that I wonder about that is that she posted her engagement photos right like I agree that I thought she was quite private but actually that is quite an intimate thing to do to be like hey we're engaged it was actually like the ring you know it was like she was Joe Bloggs off the street with her engagement which makes me feel like maybe there's a bit more and she is a performer However, it did look like there was a very vast celebrity crew that were brought in.
26:11We need to talk about the random guest list. Hugh Grant? Hugh Grant. What the hell? Jamie Oliver was there. Jamie Oliver? Why was Jamie Oliver and Jules there? Do you think it's just like any interaction she's had with someone that's positive, they made it onto the guest list? It really looks like that. Well, I'm really gutted that we've never had a positive interaction. Honestly, I think we were on the C list. I don't think we were that far off, given the celebrities that were there. it was crazy crazy i'm sorry it has to have been the celebrity version of her wedding come on you think you think they also did a private version i mean she has so much money yeah she could have done anything anywhere yeah and you look at like brad pitt and angelina they managed to get married in private so it is so like surely you can do it even if you're the most famous person on earth oh yeah you can tom holland and zendaya recently got married in total private even even dira lepas like obviously the there was some kind of content from the day before but the actual wedding we all waited and waited we didn't see anything of the dress we saw when she revealed the photos so yeah i'm with you my issue with this wedding was people having no vision and no imagination for msg and like what you could do people are like it's so ugly i'm like do you think they allowed it to be ugly like yeah that much money with all the money she's a billionaire they have seen the snake pig yeah but i think it's ai do you think because i've seen i've seen several versions of her dress well i think the dress is ai but it looks like there was someone who posted from within oh it's basically like they built kind of like a church thing with like all these vines coming off it gorgeous it looks like with like it is like stadium seating around though oh like as in they've brought in beautiful stadium seating but it is like there were so many guests there oh for the ceremony itself you mean yeah okay i mean i guess you would have to use that i just think like think of the ambani wedding right which was this huge way in indian wedding was that last year or the year before and they did it in like a warehouse space and they basically He created a, watch the Kardashian episode where they go there.
27:59It's really informative. But it's like a world. They created this like whole city within a warehouse. Like I think it's quite clever. Like she lives in New York. She's got an apartment there. It's in the, you know, you're not inconvenienced. Everybody wangs on about destination weddings and how inconvenient they are for guests. And then people get annoyed in Palermo because of the infiltration of all these wealthy people in Venice because of, you know, the same for the Bezos wedding. It's like, well, you know, you're kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't as a celebrity. At least you kept it local and used what is ultimately a really good blank canvas, blank space.

29:07It'll be very feminine, I think. It just seems quite girly. Yeah, I see her as a bit of a Valentino bride. Well, it was Dior. Oh. So. Oh, you don't see her Valentino. So you're wrong. I've not seen anything about the dress. They've announced that it was Dior. I think it'll be princessy. Yeah. yeah very princessy like vintage but look she wants everyone to be part of her love story so I really get that like she wanted the big wedding but I think you're right I think there must have been a smaller family situation because he's such a family man and so is she like family's really important to both of them I wonder whether it was like a Nashville tiny little yeah maybe imagine if imagine if this whole thing was fake and it was just like a concert and they were all these celebrities like yeah yeah yeah we went to the wedding and actually it was just Well, someone said, imagine if it was a music video.

29:55For like a new song. Wait, I just got goosebumps. I don't hate that. I don't know. Wow, that'd be amazing. That would be really cool. But I think even Brad Pitt was there, so. Everyone was there. Yeah, Brad Pitt would just be a music video. Did you see Greg James' story? What was the whole Greg James thing? Why did he get an... Was he petitioning for one and then he did just get one? No, he was like... It kind of made a joke in passing when he was interviewing her. Being like, okay, we'll see you at the wedding. She was like, no, no, we will. You're on the list. That's what happened to Graham Norton as well.
30:20yeah but I guess like look she's done press with these people for years and years and years they are part of her world Hugh Grant is not like I Hugh Grant is the hill I will die on for that wedding so random but have you seen that the one of the napkins has gone on to ebay yeah oh it went on ebay I've seen photos of it I didn't know somebody sold it someone's put it on ebay for like 99 pounds dead this was they did like little um white embroidery like I saw that but that's just so savage to be invited as a ghost and then start selling things off but do you think like Do you think maybe someone who was working the event just picked it up?
30:53Also, that's what's going to happen if you invite people who are not just your close friends to a wedding. If you invite everyone you've ever met, then there's going to be a leaky bucket. Also, welcome to an Indian wedding. That's how it works. Literally. Maybe it was an Indian wedding. Maybe that was the theme. I thought that the napkin was sweet, except it said, so it's going to be forever on it, which is a lyric from Blank Space, which I was like... It's too much. Oh, so it's going to be forever. Yeah. God, I've sang a lot of this podcast. You've got a beautiful voice. We haven't, as of yet, seen the dress.
31:23I suspect by the time this podcast goes live, the dress might be out. I've really given myself the ick with Valentino. It's okay. You weren't to know. You weren't to know. But it was being hailed as quite a coup for LVMH that it was a Dior dress. So time will tell. But do we think it was Jonathan Anderson Dior? Do you think it happened before? I think it was. They said that, didn't they? Yeah, I think they said that, yeah. Interesting. Yeah, let's see. You also, did we talk about Dior's dress? I can't remember, but you love Dior's dress. I love Dior's dress. everything she just seems so in love it just seems so authentic I'm just so here for it yeah I so agree I love seeing people in love I also really love I'm gonna slightly contradict what I just said about Taylor but I really love people who are so famous but still post their honeymoon like they're just like us yeah like they were still she was still just like posting her little dumps of her hotels and it's like oh cute you're actually like real people on honeymoon it's a real hot and heavy honeymoon though isn't it hot and heavy they're good for them they're having the time of their lives so much bum grab but like if you were him you'd you'd grab her bum sure look at her bum it's excellent she's perfection there's been a few big influencer weddings as well while we're on the influencer topic the only hands wedding was last week i mean beautiful she was never not going very gorgeous so gorgeous so feminine and we were just talking before about tomorrow tomorrow's dress is just perfection i wish i could go back and get married again it's actually very you i see that i just wish i'd worn that she wore a liar customer liar but she also looks very relaxed in it yeah she just fits her so perfectly she doesn't look like she's trying you know how often brides look like uncomfortable and like they've been put in this like the dress is wearing them yes she is wearing that dress i agree she looks perfect and it's true to her style yeah it's really it's so true because i think weddings are so hard because typically wedding dresses are like girly and pretty and lacy and all of those things and so to find one you have to work quite hard to find the ones that are not sort of in of that ilk and she did it would you go back and wear the same thing i would never in a million years wear the same dress when i was wedding dress shopping this was in 2018 right so this was pre-pandemic everything changed so much in terms of the brands that we had access to from about 2020 onwards and you know australia again like the bridal brands are leagues ahead of the uk and there was still like there were like six brands that you know that you would go to in london and that was kind of that was what the options were and so I mean I would never I don't look at these photos and regret what I wore because it's kind of it was a moment in time but no we'll do something else at some point in our lives just just to have some updated photos yeah your brand has evolved yeah exactly exactly the brand has evolved what would you wear the same again um I was yeah I was like so determined to be bride chiller okay that I probably didn't put enough enough time and effort and like thought into my looks I actually I feel the same with that I was trying just to be like I'm relaxed and like I didn't have proper hair and makeup and it was like on the day I didn't even really like what I was what what was going on there but I was just so relaxed I was like yeah it's fine it's great and now I look back and I'm like that was actually a really big moment I felt I don't dislike anything though actually for my we got married I'm hoping Taylor Swift did this we did like the little family thing in the church on my husband's parents property um and I actually wore the big dress for that so that was really special and the hair and makeup for that was amazing and then Spain because we were going to Mayorka and I didn't have anyone there it was all a bit like a bit of a kerfuffle but I don't regret it I just would definitely change some things yeah I feel the same I didn't keep my hairdresser there I had my hair which like first world sentence but you know had my hair done and then off she trotted I also got married in Mallorca and when I say my hair is in the photos, you're like, why did that girl go swimming halfway through her wedding?
35:10I sweated so much. My hair is like in wet strands. And again, I was like, I'm chill, whatever. No, it's so high maintenance. I don't want to leave my wedding to go and get my hair redone. But I'm like, I have to live with these photos forever. And like, my hair's wet. It's messy. So I'm with you. But like, I think you can risk overthinking things, but then there are also, as you say, it's quite a big deal and you want to be able to look back. But then I do look back and think, I'm so happy I was so present. Like I was really focused on just like enjoying the moment. And I did enjoy the moment.
35:39So there you go. True. Way more important. I didn't wee once at my wedding. I never in the entire day. Well, I maybe did before the ceremony. But then after that, I didn't even like, I didn't step away from one second. Oh, wow. Not because, by the way, I wasn't like desperate for a wee and didn't go. Like I just, I was just feeling the vibes. Have you got weddings this year? I've got one at the end of October. It's really sad when they start to peter out. They have peter out for me. Well, I've got two next year. Yeah. We're going into the 40th, as I said. I'm turning 40 next year. I cannot get over.
36:04Yeah, it's going to be 40. I feel like that's going to be really fun. Yeah. The 40th year is fun. Because I was pregnant at our wedding, and therefore I didn't get to lean in, my 40th is going to be like my wedding. Okay, you're going hot. Love this for you. So on the outfits, actually, I need to start planning. Yeah. You've got a redemption moment there. This is it. Yeah, this is your time. My pressure. I love this. I've said that.
36:27okay let's move on to hot topic burnout ladies oh you said you're teetering on the brink I do look I think we should caveat or at least I'm going to caveat the burnout conversation with I don't think I realized that you could still be burnt out from doing something that you love I thought burnout only came when you were like just sick and tired of your life I love so much of my life. I love my job, I love my people, I love the world that I exist in, but it can get on top of you to the point where you sort of feel as if you're drowning slightly. And I don't think I'm fully sunk under the waves, but I can feel myself getting pulled under and I need to stay afloat.
37:08This is why I wrote a book about it. It's not specifically about burnout. However, to your point, I wrote my book as a pivot to my last job as a CEO. and or I should say as a response to my last job as a CEO and I was feeling extremely burnt out and unhappy and I thought it was the job but actually I've realized it's a personality trait so if you are very ambitious and you love to achieve but you also love to you know have a big busy social life and life outside of work and especially in a city like London I feel like we are often teetering on the edge of burnout it's not something you have once and then recover from right this is what I talk about in my book a lot it's like for example having boundaries and just being really strict and actually saying no to things that you don't want to do so my experience this was this was like christmas like q4 2024 and the thing that i really had to learn to come out of it was that it's okay not to be able to do all of those things so for me i was a bit like you were saying i was just there was nothing wrong there was nothing bad everything i was doing i felt i was like but why am i stressed about i'm so lucky i'm so lucky that i get to go to all of these things and have a job I love and you know have friends to see and all of those things and so therefore I was like so I should be able to cope with all of this why can't you cope with it there are so many people who can cope with this can't you're a disin-chief you should be able to just do do it all and like and why can't you do it all and any symptoms that sort of presented themselves as as kind of little red flags being like you can't I would be like no why can't I cope I should be able to cope with it and it was the denying myself the the breathing space or the sort of grace to be like it's okay to whatever have emotions or have you know struggle with the balance or kind of trying to do it all that was the thing that took me over the edge rather than actually the life itself and I think it's about how we process what we're doing rather than what we're doing in itself does that make sense yeah I also think like saying no to the things you don't want to do up front just say so much like on Saturday night I had to not go to a hen party I'd paid all this money for and I really wanted to be there for my friend and so on but I knew I I just had like too much on my plate emotionally, literally like physically with all the kids and things.
39:12And I just had to put my hand up and be like, I actually can't do it. And I had like 12 hours sleep. And then I felt so much better on yesterday on Sunday. And then I went through my diary for the next few weeks and actually put blocks out on the free nights, which I add my husband to in the calendar. But like, this is like, nothing's on tonight. I'm like, nothing's on at that gap on the weekend. Cause otherwise it just fills up too much. And you end up back in the same place again. Yeah, it's so true. Do you do anything like that? No, but I think that's what you need to start doing. Yeah. I think I really understand what you're saying in the why can't I cope thing because I think if you get used to operating at like a frequency, you just think that you should be there all the time.
39:49And then I'm like, but how am I going to do this when you're trying to fit in like quote unquote life on top of it where I'm like, I said to Nana today, I've been to the gym for a week. And she was like, I know I've not done this. And I was like, I've been flogging myself for it because I'm like, that's part of my routine that I like and I want to get there but I've also like been sleeping five hours a night for like three weeks so I'm like I don't know how to ask this in but also a lot of the top doctors now say it's better to then get the eight hours sleep and sleep in past the gym yeah then it is to kill yourself to get to the gym yeah yeah yeah and it's hard because these are like things I want to do it's not like I'm not being tortured into doing something I don't want to do you know I'm going into Wimbledon five times but like yeah here's a suggestion to how you can free us in time I think that the and I've said this on the podcast before that we are so the word should and you use the word should before as well and like we're as women as you know society all of those things like we're so bound to this idea we should and it's and even the sort of the wellness culture the the kind of the kind of take a break culture is bound up in should like we should be able to carve out this time for ourselves we should be meditating we should be you know taking respirators whatever and and all of it just amounts to more and more pressure and i think that there's no there's no should there's only kind of what feels right for you and yeah you like we should go to the gym like in total in our lives but if you don't go tomorrow and you don't go the day after like okay or if you don't go for a year yeah like i haven't been for a year since i had a baby and i keep trying to like book it back in and it's actually at this point in time i just like don't have the capacity to do that and I know that's really bad because I know it then helps everything this is what I've tried to say in my book is that I actually think it's better for you to do what you know is right for you and for you to do what you know is right for you like there's no point someone sitting there and preaching to you what's right for you and only you know what's right for you tell us about the book while we're on it yeah I'm just so excited about it it's been a lifelong dream come true like when I was a child and they were like what do you want to be when you grow up it was either an actress or a writer so here we are I'm both I'm on the She Like's podcast And it was a much harder journey than I thought it would be because I'm not a journalist like you with all this experience.
42:02I mean, I had a PR company for years, so I've always written and I've always had a million journals everywhere. But actually having to write a book is unsurprisingly quite difficult. Actually, I found the writing part easier than the editing part. Oh, yeah. I've got editing brutal. Yeah, the writing took me like four months, I think. And then the editing took me like seven. Oh, wow. And it's quite brutal, as you say, because there'll be a section of the book where you're like, oh, my God, I gave so much time and energy to this and it's amazing and they're kind of like no we're getting rid of that but it's it is a self-help book but I've tried to reframe what self-help is into that you know more modern structure which is I don't believe that everyone should be getting up at 5 a.m and meditating it's just not realistic especially when you have children and busy jobs and busy lives and things like sometimes I think it is better to go out and have a crazy weekend with your friends and be hung over on the couch on a Sunday that will make you feel better you know and you know what's right for you and what isn't um so I hope it helps even one person out there then I will have achieved what I set out to do who's it for it is for anyone looking to level up in their lives in any way or to achieve something that they don't think is possible at this point um basically it's in four parts so vision strategy habits flow vision hang on vision sorry too fast you know no I'm trying to work out vision strategy habits flow so helping you to visualize where you really want to go for you not what society expects of you or your parents but what you truly deeply want within because sometimes it's quite different to the path that you're on which has happened to me many times and then strategy is really like strategically getting you there habits is the habits we all know we should have but the ones that are right for you and that's where you really start to embody the woman you're becoming and then flow for me is like you know you're in the right place when you're in flow state and everything just feels great and how to get into flow and stay in flow and you've got your podcast and you've interviewed lots of amazing women on it what is like you just like and you um what is what is something you know talking about the burnout and the kind of getting the balance right like is there something that somebody has said that has stood out to you as like that's actually such good advice i think i learned through the podcast listening to amazing women one thing i learned was that everyone would say to me just say no like say no up front and i was such a people pleaser i always said yes to everything and I would also overbook things you know like I'd book this at 12 and then something else at 1 30 and then something at three and actually like creating space for yourself to take time to even be creative actually allows you to do a better job at whatever you're doing so potentially like doing less and doing it really well rather than doing everything and also being really strategic financially like we're in business to make money so actually looking at like okay say for example you're a consultant like which are the clients that actually take up so much of your time and pay you the least get rid of them you know be a bit more brutal yeah to get ahead yeah i think with these conversations like it's so easy to not talk about the practical things like making money and it's all just the like the kind of things the fluff around it yeah yeah love that yeah great where's the book out it is out on the 10th of september hard plug please what's it called ceo yourself ceo yourself out on the 10th september well done
45:05okay we're gonna jump to listener dilemmas now somebody has said what are the best items to look for in the sales at this time of year are you buying summer pieces or winter pieces oh i try and do a winter haul in the summer get your knitwear get your coats blazers coats trenches boots yeah some of the best winter pieces i own i've bought in summer i bought like on the beach on my phone. And some of the best summer pieces I bought in the winter. Yeah. I bought all my sandals in January. Because this is when things go into sale, right? Yeah. I haven't done a big haul yet, but I want to. Yeah, I was still buying summer things until about three days ago when I remembered that autumn is nigh.
45:43And so... Please stop saying that we're in the summer. The 21st of June is like the start of summer. So we still have three months of technically what is summer. Technically, meteorologically, yes. But the temperatures are getting earlier and earlier. and I just, listen, you spend your money as you will, but I am going to wait for the much longer season of autumn and you're a summer Scrooge. I am a summer Scrooge. I cannot wait to put a fucking jumper on again, honestly, dressing for the season. It's just, it's like - When I think of you, I think of beautiful, like warm jumpers. Me too. Honestly, when I was sat around in Ibiza, as I said, I was in Ibiza this weekend.
46:19I've said that 12 times. And I was looking around. It is the land of, I messaged Lou and Polly saying, it is like all the girls that you see on instagram where you're like okay you have to in your head you're like you know there can't be this many hot girls are there like whatever there's like a hundred of them and whatever they're all over the world no they're all in ibiza they are all these girls with bodies and tans that were like how do you even exist and then i go into hibernation i don't know what they're doing the rest of the year but i can tell you in july they're in ibiza and i had to remind myself i was sat there thinking that about that old adage that is that summer is for hot girls and winter is for fashion girlies and i was like i'm just not a hot girl i'm a fashion girl you are so both thank you so much but like babe the girls in ibiza were a lot anyway so i just like want to get back into the knits and the trousers and i quite like though in summer i wear so much color and pattern and print it's like crazy chaos yeah just like today yeah and then i come back to lunch and it's just this boring true neutral situation i don't think I'm a hot girl or a fashion girl I can literally only dress for holidays that makes you a hot girl congratulations what is a holiday girl to be fair you could name it for today you're a holiday girl which is reflective of your personality it's true she likes the stuff sunshine queen with her depressing music going on in the background anyway the advice is buy winter things in the sales right now somebody said oh this is interesting I get on really well with someone at work but outside the office we have nothing to say to each other is it a real friendship or not no no I think it depends on what you talk about at work if you if you it depends how you define real friendship you're right you're right and that was harsh of me yeah me too but it sounds like a situationship it does yeah literally like you flirt all day and then like have no chat outside but I think if real friendship to you means talking about anything and everything and you can do that with that person in the office but then you probably don't because you say you've got no chat outside of work or maybe you just don't have opportunity to spend time with each other outside of work.
48:21Some offices don't have like an after hours culture. When I worked at Elle, we were out nonstop. Like our friendships really did come together in the office and outside of the office. And when I was at Stylus, there was like no after work drink culture whatsoever. But they're still some of my best mates because we still formed that friendship there where we would still talk about like life and vulnerabilities and whatever. But we, it's not like we boozed together after, we weren't ever in the pub having a pint after. So you can kind of bond either way at work. I think maybe these people sound like they're trauma bonded.
48:54Do you know what I mean? Like you've got enough chat in the office. Well, that also happens. Yes. Which is a common theme. Like if you've got loads of chat in the work day, but nothing outside of work, you're probably just bitching about work all day. Yeah. For sure. I think. My partner never asks how my day was. Is that something that matters? Yes. I think so. Depends how many kids they have. Seriously. That's fair. Depends how distracted you are. Yeah. Okay. Valid. I'm just going to give them a... But never is quite strong. But never is quite strong. Yeah. I'd like to think that... Once a week is possible.
49:27Yeah. I'd like to think even if we had kids, you still tell me. I'm going to ask someone there, don't you? Okay. Well, maybe if you've got 12 children, it's fine. All right. I think we'll leave it there. Thank you both so much. Go and shop her collection. Go and pre... Can you pre-order your book? Yeah, you can pre-order my book now. Pre-order the book. There you go. Everybody's thriving. And thank you for listening. Please do subscribe. I've been low on this subscribe chat today. I subscribed on my way here. Hermione subscribed on her way here. So what are the rest of you doing? Subscribe. And do you please leave us a review and share an episode with a friend and we'll see you next time.
50:01Bye-bye.
50:09Turn it up. Storm has zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine. So you can turn that workout up a notch. Good energy in, good energy out. Energy for life.

On this week’s podcast, host Charlotte is joined by Billie Bhatia and Hermione Olivia to talk about celebrity weddings, summer hotspots and dealing with burnout. First up: the wedding of the year. The team unpack that star-studded Taylor Swift guest list (Hugh Grant and Jamie Oliver, anyone?) and debate whether the whole thing was actually an elaborate music video. Plus, Billie shares the behind-the-scenes secrets from her latest sell-out fashion collab and Hermione drops her ultimate London hidden gem: a moody, Ibiza-style spa cave in central London.
We also get into the new Katie Price documentary and discuss the collective responsibility of noughties media culture. Then, we’re tackling a topic that hits close to home: burnout. Having all teetered on the edge, the trio share their raw, practical advice on setting boundaries, ignoring the pressure of wellness "should," and learning to say no. Hermione also gives us a sneak peek at her brilliant new book, ‘CEO Yourself’. Finally, we answer your listener dilemmas on everything from workplace friendships to relationship red flags.
