In short

A “Shear Locks” girls-weekend episode with Dove, mixing lifestyle talk (outfits, shopping, foodie picks), self-care “little rituals” (especially shower/bath routines, scent-based relaxation, deodorant refresh), and audience dilemmas about confidence, strangers’ opinions, girls-trip etiquette, and relationship trust.

Guests

Polly and Nana (hosts). Dove is the sponsor/partner; no additional guest speakers are interviewed.

Key claims

Start skincare in the shower; Dove Body & Mind products provide 24-hour hydration and help you feel moisturized without immediate post-shower lotion. Lavender/coconut scents can shift mood and relaxation. Confidence grows by repeating beliefs and pushing comfort zones; strangers’ opinions shouldn’t override your own. Girls-trip etiquette: no boys, but if there are multiple rooms, it may be okay to bring someone back if it won’t ruin others’ experience. For relationship doubt, ask your boyfriend directly; consider context before confronting.

Notable examples

McDonald’s FIFA World Cup meal/cup promo; Nordstrom Rack summer sale; supper club in the Cotswolds (garden weddings); Casserole in Saint-Tropez (DJ after dinner); tacos at Lucia’s (Hackney) and Honky Donkeys (Leyton); One Club Row; Dove shower serum/refills; “schedule time to cry” and breathwork/meditation.

We are doing a very special episode this week. We are away on a girls weekend with Dove and we are talking all things self-care. Hands down has to be the refills. I knew you were going to say that. It's so great on my skin. Also something slightly unhinged that I do, it's just literally scheduling time to cry.

1:15It's so cathartic. But also talking about the etiquette when it comes to girls trips. What is allowed? You're on a girls trip. No boys allowed. However, if there are multiple rooms in the villa, crack on babes. Finally, these are the foodie recommendations you need to save and book immediately. The best tacos I have had in London ever. Near me in Leighton, Honky Donkeys. Oh, I've not heard of that one. That is really good as well. It's a good one. Stay tuned.

1:57Welcome back to the Sheerlux podcast. I am joined today by Polly and Nana and I'm sure you'll notice we're not in our usual set and that's because we're away at the moment on a bit of a girl's trip with Dove who we're partnering with at the moment and creating lots of amazing content for but it's really rare that we get to sort of go away and experience all of these products in real life in sort of a situation that's quite fun and you know like the girl's trip vibes which is exactly what we've done we're doing a bit of a weekender away as part of that we thought we'd do a little podcast so here we are In the most incredible setting, you need to tap into all of the other content we've been creating.

2:33You'll get to see it. But the view that we've got at the moment is spectacular. Well, by the time this comes out, I'm sure you will see everything. It's all going to be on socials and YouTube, so check it all out. But today we're going to do a normal Shilux teen podcast with a bit of a dove sprinkle. So shall we get into it? Yeah, definitely. Start with... Outfits. I was about to crack on to something else. I was like, actually, we're missing outfits. I feel like Nana and I are quite similarly dressed but I'm necessarily more cash version we've both got parachute pants and a vest top on yeah um but obviously Nana's done heels and I've done flats because that's my personality can we actually just tell them that Nana has worn these heels for I want to say 90 of this entire trip we climbed a hill like a proper I want to say mountain range and Nana wore the heels and she was the first one to the top of the mountain yeah I just like i said i could have changed i have got trainers did a workout this morning but if i changed into my trainers i would have had to change the whole outfit i know it didn't go and i respect it so much and it was really quite impressive that you managed it was impressive the guys guiding us were like is she sure because it does get quite rocky and we're like it's okay she's a pro guys yeah she's this isn't her first radio yeah well it started with because i only had my loafers really and then they were like oh you're gonna wear loafers i was like yeah it's fine and then And then I came out in her leopard print heels and they were like, oh my God.

3:56Yeah, I was like, I'll be fine in later. I think I'll be fine. Actually, but where are these? Keep going. Oh yeah, that's the Alvis. I got these acne trousers at Vista Village at the weekend, so I'm pretty pleased with them. My Celine clogs, a vest top from Alex Eagle and a jacket from Topshop. White vest. I love the kind of like frayed edges here. This is ASOS, Arrange, Balloon, whatever we're calling them, trousers, Topshop. Absolutely. I just love the colour. Yeah, it's like such a good tomato red. And then the iconic leopard print meals that serve me very well all weekend are from Zara. How about you, Sabna?

4:34Where's your set from? I am in a set from Dish, which I've honestly been reaching for so much at the moment, where it's been this sort of like weird transitional, like not really sure wearing weather. And then some loafers from June.

4:51Well let's get into the things we're loving. Hit me guys, what have you been loving at the moment? Well I did something really fun at the weekend. My friend hosted a supper club in her garden but she actually is renting out the house for weddings, events and stuff so it's the most stunning Georgian house. The grounds are incredible. I basically wanted to shout it out because I kind I kind of wish I'm still a bride because it would be a great place to get married. It's in the Cotswolds in Aino, which is kind of near Bista. Yeah. Hence the Bista Village purchase. But it was just England. It's fine.

5:29They've got Fry as well. I do feel like we really are in that like hosting season of I just want to be in a garden. Yeah, I'm doing well, I've just finished my garden, haven't I? Yes. And I keep saying what is about to happen is the garden opening party, which we keep laughing about but I'm like I need to like it's gonna be like Chelsea flower show in that garden but my thing at the moment I'm loving is furniture but for outside in the garden I really love H &M at the moment they've got some really great like outdoor cushions oh yeah they do don't they um it's got those nice kind of like stripey square ones you can put on your wooden chairs or whatever it is yeah but Nani you've also just been away I mean we've been talking about how obviously we're on a girl's trip but you've also just been on a girl's trip I went from one girls trip straight into what a week like to live your life what a week i was on a girls trip in saint tropez through my best friends it looks so much fun you know when you like watch someone's stories and you're just like i want to be on that trip it looks so good such a dream have you got any wrecks i feel like you're telling us about some restaurants you went to yeah so one of the restaurants that we went to uh it's called casserole more not anywhere in Love Island-y relation.

6:38Anna is joining Casserole. Yeah, actually joining Love Island. Bombshell. Honestly, I would dine, Anna. It would be the most iconic thing. I'm just going to say with my mother. There was eight of us, and the tables are very big. You kind of have to be in a very big group, or I don't know, maybe a minimum of like six, let's say. But the food, absolutely exceptional. They bring it out also. we had like octopus the most amazing avocado salad i've ever had spaghetti and lobster i love seafood yeah sea food when you're away but the best bit it's two to eight once food is done they have an like an amazing dj and by about i'd say four o 'clock you're dancing on the table i mean that is a sign of a good yeah it's a really good day so like one to definitely go with like your friends.

7:35Yeah, yeah. That's looking for a hen do or something. Yeah, exactly. And I think when you go on a girls trip, like those are the times that you just get fed like so much confidence, like people that just like love you and that you love. Really fills your cup, doesn't it? Going away with girls. And I read somewhere a while ago about how important it is to like make time with your friends to like make new memories. And that sounds really cliche, but like rather than just like catching up for a weeknight dinner like oh what are you up to I'm doing this I'm just okay bye actually like going and doing things with each other like your Santa Fe trip and other girls weekend date your friends yeah because that's when you like yeah you make the new memories to dwell upon in the future rather than just like talking about the ones that you did from like 20 years yeah I remember back at school we went to that place like yeah it was a while ago but yeah so Casper more in Saint-Tropez I would highly recommend we also went to a really great restaurant on the first night and called Lot Opera and it was also amazing and the shopping in Saint-Tropez let me get the name of the shopper I found the most incredible vintage called Le Depote okay cool so if you are into any vintage shopping whilst you're in Saint-Tropez or south of France then yeah I now really want to go to Saint Tropez thanks to you so I'll be adding that to my list to go with my girlfriends Sapna what are you loving?

9:00it's been a bit of a foodie month for me I feel like I've kind of ticked off a couple restaurants I've been dying to go to and actually there was one maybe like three or four weeks ago I woke up with this like hankering for tacos and it was really annoying because from my memory I hadn't had a good taco in London I think it's a really hard thing to get I know. And obviously everyone's going on about tack, which is, you know, I think it must be really amazing. But I live in East and I was like, I just want a chill lunch and a good taco. And I was TikTok scrolling, which is where I feel like I find most of my restaurants these days.

9:32And this one came up, which was in Hackney. And I was like, right, let's just go. Let's just try it. It's called Lucia's. And when I tell you... Oh my gosh, that's near me. It is. No, Nana, you have to go. But when I tell you, it was the best tacos I have had in London ever. Yeah. I will say, near me, in Leyton, on Honky Donkeys. Oh, I've not heard of that one. That is really good as well. Amazing. Apparently it's a really good one in Stoke Newington as well. OK. We've just got on a taco, one girls. No, we've got to go on a taco crawl at this point. But it was just like, it was unfussy, it was a really like hole in the wall kind of vibe.

10:08I do love a good taco. I feel like I might put that on my list for this weekend. You have to, Nanakil, this weekend, honestly. You might have to wait for like half an hour. You can't book, you can walk in, but then they'll take your number and like call you so you could go to one of the bars nearby and have some drink and come back which is what we did. I also finally tried One Club Row and now have been back like three times since. Again a really good east. Yeah I've been and also was the guy playing the piano when you went? No. Oh I love that kind of thing. I went for lunch the last like two times has been have been a lunch booking.

10:39Okay so I've been for dinner and they have a guy they're just playing the piano which is honestly so so nice like really gives it such a like gorgeous yeah the ambiance is like fantastic but yeah I love the food in there it's just it's good if you just want really good like brasserie bistro kind of food like a really good steak a really good salad like good chips yeah the fries are amazing another thing that I'm sort of loving but equally hating and I'd love to know your opinion on this are the sort of bridesmaids proposals and boxes and things. Part of me loves it because how sweet to do like this entire proposal and this box.

11:20And this box and like, I basically, I got served this video of this girl and she got this like incredible silver, like metallic tin and she packed it with all these lovely things like a ring from like a lab growing place and then like all these lovely beauty bits and like wrote this letter. And then she did all this branding herself that she got printed it was like a PR package like it was incredible attention to detail amazing 1010 she must work in marketing or something yeah and I looked at I was like that's amazing but my goodness have you just spent like 500 pounds per like per box like amazing but I do feel like there's almost a little bit of pressure now for people to make a whole song and dance over yeah weddings as an industry has just like got bigger and bigger and bigger and it's become more elaborate and the expectation to have bigger weddings bigger bridesmaid proposals bigger everything a couple proposals yes i think possibly a little out of hand but i suppose it's each like you said each to their own uh this type b girl could never i think i literally asked my girls just like by text literally like good sleep is everything that's why ollie's science back support is made with a blend of melatonin and l-theanine for both kiddos and grown-ups so when your mind won't switch off, you've got something that can help.

12:35Erasing thoughts and restless nights won't stand a chance. Find Ollie's sleep solutions for the whole family at ollie.com. That's O-L-L-Y.com. You just want to walk me down the aisle? Yeah.

12:53All right, let's move on to our fashion finds. What have you guys been shoving? I recently got this really cute little blue gingham dress from life of ease who got an amazing summer collection at the moment like great if you love little dresses and mini dresses in fact but I just loved I felt really good in it and I'm not actually a big dresses girl so it's quite high praise I think for me to say that I love to dress so many compliments I think it's a really good one to dress up and dress down so I love that and then my other little find is there's alex eagle tank i picked up and it's just very good quality very thick and because you can't always wear a bra under these kind of racer vests but the quality is great and thick and it's held its shape really well so those are my two love that uh mine is i actually wore it for a recent sl shoot that i did it's an asos arrange denim dress that's got a really kind of like low scoop neck and handkerchief kind of like long maxi hemline and i loved it so much it was my airport outfit for saint-tropet because we all know that i love being dressed up for the airport as well no tracksuits at the airport could never be me oh did i tell you that my luggage yes well that's why dress up the airport in case my luggage didn't make it onto the flight so that you were like It's happened to you twice now.

14:18I know. So it came on the next boat, which was fine. But that's why I truly believe you should always actually look good at the airport. Yeah, that's actually good advice. You never know what's going to happen. But yeah, ASOS Arrange, really reasonably priced. And I think obviously with denim, even though I don't wear jeans, I will always wear like a denim dress or a denim skirt, shorts, whatever. And denim is timeless. so it is one of those dresses that I know that I'm gonna have in my wardrobe year after year yeah yeah really good shape and it's really darted at the waist as well yeah how about you I actually haven't bought anything but these are things that are my wish list at the moment so there are a pair of heels on H &M that are like pearly so that as in like the strap bit it's like massive like voluminous pearls all over like such a fun summer shoe i do really struggle with like summer hills because i kind of have like a couple pairs that i will always wear when i need to do like something in the evening but actually having like a chic summer shoe like i just want something a bit more fun yeah investing in them yeah i think that is like such a good one yeah they sound really good yeah really nice and then another one which I'm actually really sad because I showed this to Polly last night or maybe it was Nana but it's sold out in my size so I'm like keeping an eye but there's this amazing bikini on Otteray and it's sort of like their classic sparkly triangle yeah and it's like the dual colour I think one side's like a peachy colour and one is like a chocolate brown and then in the centre it's this shell which is like so cool it's like a really nice like brownie shell and it's sort of mimicked on the bottom as well and yeah I just love that it's such a nice piece it's so sad when you don't sleep on things like that it will come back in and it will be then on sale as well the next sale just like you've got to act fast otherwise you're like literally it is gone the final thing is a set that I have been wearing on repeat it's from Italian 95's newest drop it's like a silky top oh I love that set you've got and then like a straight leg trouser and I just yeah it's just so cool every single occasion, I went one to the office, I'd wear it in the evening, like those are the two occasions I can wear it everywhere, it's all I do, everywhere, but yeah I love that.

16:42Let's move on to the hot topic and since we're here with Dove of course on our weekender we thought we would dedicate this segment to Dove, talking about the products that we're obsessed with, our sort of wellness habits, self-care habits, things we're loving right now in that space so let's crack on I think we talk about self-care quite a lot and there are so many sort of unrealistic self-care standards so I'd love to know what is the sort of lower end of like when you have five minutes and you've had a rough day and you just need one thing to sort of make you feel like you again what are you doing yeah I think that's a like a good point because like I said not everyone has the time to be dedicating like half an hour to an hour every day to self-care like that's unrealistic for like busy people with busy jobs maybe you're a mum or something like that so i think for me it's about like incorporating little things that elevate the routine so if it's your shower for example i'm kind of now quite fussy about what i use in the shower yeah because i want it to feel like an experience not just a quick like i don't know it can be quick but you know that it's doing something a bit of impact yeah like for me the shower now is like your skincare starts in the shower that's what's really great about these products yeah we've been using obviously they're all new this year yeah but i'd never really had like incorporated yeah never thought about that i've never incorporated that into my lifestyle but that's just such an easy win for when you're so busy trying to get out the house or like you've got a lot to do in the morning you've got five minutes in the shower and maybe actually have a bit longer in the shower yeah you treat yourself a tiny bit longer yeah but yeah you've got these amazing products that not only kind of like make you feel good but are actually doing scientific things to your skin one that i particularly like which gives like 24 hour hydration which comes out advanced care yeah So it comes out and feels like a lotion almost when you first squeeze it out.

18:57And then just feels so beautiful when you rub it all over your body. And again, like if you've kind of not got the time to moisturise after the shower, that still leaves your skin feeling really beautiful and supple. Yeah, it's all locked in already. Yeah, sometimes with like other products, you know, you come out of the shower and if you don't moisturise, you feel very tight and dry and stuff. But that's not what I experienced with that product. And the smells are really gorgeous. this one I think it's got like hibiscus in it and it just smells so good so yeah yeah it's really good really nice I feel like we're all gonna say shower to be honest because genuine you guys know I've taken the piss out of myself so many times now but I do just shower constantly yeah I'm a bath girl so I will be actually having a bath yeah when so you have a bath in the morning for like how long about 15 minutes okay so it's not long but how do you have a bath and not want to then and just get into bed and go back to sleep.

19:50Yeah. For me, a bath is like wind down, relax, lavender and like bubbles and like lovely. And then I go to bed. In the morning, it's more functional. So I'm like just getting clean. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whereas in the evening, that's when it's like relaxation. I've got like different, like I'll use different scents for the morning and the evening. So morning, for example, I love the coconut milk. and then in the evening it would be more of a lavender. Great. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, I get that. Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah. Maybe I need to start bathing in the morning. Maybe this is the hack for life.

20:31Yeah, a bath in the morning is honestly... Start your day differently. Yeah, maybe you just need to reframe how I feel. It's not just to wind down, it's to gee yourself up for the day. Exactly, let's go. And like, yeah, I feel great. On the other end of the spectrum, So I'm talking when you've literally got a whole Sunday with no plans and you can just lean into the self-care. Like, what are you doing? What is your ideal situation? It's like an everything, like shower slash bath, isn't it? That feels very indulgent. Yeah. But it's so nice to, like, reset, I think, for the week ahead of doing, you know, like, taking a bit of time, doing the, like, skincare in the shower, skincare post-shower.

21:13Yeah, body. I love smell really great. I don't know, like it's a reset for me. Yeah, mine's like, get in the shower, must have a speaker with music on. Yeah. Must have something really nourishing on my body in the shower. Must shave, must wash my hair. And then I also spend a bit more time, I actually, this is probably really bad for my water bill, but I love having the shower run before I get in it a little bit and quite hot so that when you get in, it's like slightly steamy. It's like steamy, yeah. And then when you, yeah. And then when you use the like body products, I love the body and mind range from Dove because it has those sort of like creamier, more luxurious products.

21:51You could use them in the morning or any point in the day, but I really do love like kind of savouring them for the evenings. Yeah. And like just having that on my body and like smelling the lavender all around me is just like a tender. Yeah, that's like I was saying, the lavender for me, like it's just such an easy win for anyone that like maybe struggles to kind of relax and switch off in the evening. I think that is such an easy win to use that. And it's instantly going to kind of like calm you and transport you into a more kind of zen state. I think there's actually scientific evidence. You could me all the time.

22:27I'm not a scientist. I am not a scientist. But I think I have read somewhere that scents actually have the power to put you into a different like state. Like a mood. state of your needs of like relaxation so like working out what scents really work for you and what relaxes you obviously like lavender is an obvious one but like maybe you feel particularly relaxed by coconut or something raspberry or whatever it is and just leaning into that and taking those like little moments for yourself for me coconut the reason i use it in the morning and i love it so much is because like it reminds me of holiday yeah it's like energizing yeah yeah Yeah, same.

23:05That's so true. Also not to get technical, but I actually love the fact that the body and mind products have vitamin E because it was like, you're saying like, rather than moisturizing afterwards, you kind of have that nourishment on your body full day. And it just feels so like, especially if you are going to shave, which is a very important part of my routine. Yeah. But you want to know that, yeah, you can just come out and feel amazing already. What I've really loved is the full body DOs because I feel like it's very easy to concentrate on those like key areas which you perceive to be the like budurist ones but like it's really nice to have something that works everywhere yeah yeah and you know you can just add a little spritz to somewhere on a roll if you're feeling like you need a bit of help yeah and also just like TLC like you know using like the cream based one on your feet is really nice because I don't know it's something somewhere that perhaps naturally we might neglect neglect yeah exactly focus on those areas and like i love those ones for kind of like what you're talking about self-care that is an easy win as well for just throughout the day not just like you're using it in the morning but something that you can easily throw in your bag and it's compact it can come like in your handbag your tote bag whatever it is that you're going out with and for me obviously i go to the gym every morning so it's really good if I'm short on time I can use that and just as a refresh just as a refresh exactly and head like straight to my breakfast meeting or whatever it is and know that again the scents on that one yeah the lavender again that smells really great and also like for anyone because obviously this is quite a new range the whole body range which we've been trying while we've been here um and it's sort of there's three products so there's a spray like an aerosol then there's a cream which comes in a sort of tube with a really quite clever applicator actually I really like it and then there's all the stick which I feel like is quite nice for on the go as well yeah but I think there is almost like the stigma about odor like it's such a weird like obviously everyone puts it under their arm armpits and whatever but it's quite nice that this is sort of breaking that in terms of confidence like you know maybe some people do want to put some behind the back of their leg or like your feet do smell like fine cool like this is such a nice range to just kind of beat that and be like yeah I'm gonna smell great all day who cares where I've put it yeah because also like I don't know if it's just me but it's like one of my things that I just want to always smell good like you know my fragrance drawer in the office is like out of this world and I do just like top up throughout the day but I do feel like with something like this it's so nice that I will just catch myself and be like oh my god I smell fresh like you can just go into the day with the confidence that you're not gonna have to worry about odour yeah yeah it's the worst isn't it when you're you know a bit later in the day if you've like not been prepared or yeah yeah i've been a bit sweaty or have like i don't know worn a shoe that without a sock or whatever i don't really want to take my shoes off but with these full body deals like it kind of takes that worry away because like i don't know we all have a lot of things to worry about in life yeah this shouldn't be smells yeah shouldn't be it's really good on the days when i am doing a million outfit changes for filming content and when you're in those shops in the changing rooms like you guys will know obviously it gets really hot and being able to top up with that spray like i'm definitely a spray girl out of the three i'm just thinking of like obviously we have so many events and things coming up like event season it's like the summer yeah and all these like other things where you're out in the sun pretty much all day and you know and it gets so hot and it's just like it's just nice to go into that knowing that i'm gonna smell so good yeah just feel really fresh and lovely and you can top up as well just really easy to top up that's what i like yeah definitely away from i guess beauty and wellness is there anything else that sort of just like mental health wise or like mindfulness wise that you guys like doing i feel like it's so personal to each person and like you know what I'm yeah I'm a big advocate for like meditation I really do start pretty much every day with minimum like 30 minutes and yeah just really like there's a meditation playlist that is on my phone um although I try and put it through my tv or oh right right yeah yes because I try and not look at my phone for like the first 30 minutes as well of the day.

27:37Which is so good. I'm just like, I'm just practicing that a bit more. So yeah, I'll actually play it through my TV and then just like sit. I've recently got into like a bit more breath work. Like I'm historically not that great at like, you know, mindfulness and things like that. But breath work, I think you can, is something that you can just do like, you know, even if you're just like sat for a moment, even if you're driving, like you can concentrate still but just like take you know slow and take some breath hold it and it's amazing how like a few of those can really just like calm yeah relate just reset your nervous system so if you are busy i think that's a really easy and free way to like yes that's so true i do think it is that like almost resetting and slowing i feel like no matter what industry or what job you work in if you consume social media and you're on your phone a lot a lot you're over And you're on your phone and like, it's so, and like your brain, like the cortisol levels, like everything is so fast and in your face that you actually just having a moment to like, you can just stare at a wall, like it just calms and like slows you down.

28:40Which I think is so important. How about you, what is your? I feel like I'm a huge over thinker. And so like, I just need my brain to not be having like 10 million thoughts at the same time. So actually I've been really trying to be quite religious about my Kindle and like just switching off, putting the phone in a different room. and before bed having like 20 minutes even to read like a couple chapters like it honestly makes me sleep so much better yeah that's so good also something slightly unhinged that i do it's just literally scheduling time to cry like genuinely love that yeah like so cathartic like when do you do it in the shower absolutely i've got the playlist on i'm in the shower and i'm sorry this is it something it's not sad but it's just like letting the emotions out yeah and sometimes there's not even something that's triggered it sometimes it just feels good to just be like playing character for a moment you're either like I'm not a big cry I have to say really respect it if you have to let it out yeah like I'm actually not yeah I'm hard to cry actually yeah with my cold that's my cold dead heart I heard this thing because a lot of people hold it in and apparently holding in a cry is as unnatural for your body as holding in a sneeze yeah and it's really bad yeah it's actually bad yeah so if i need to cry like i definitely will like i will never hold it yeah yeah um because yeah i've had that it's really bad if you like just try and suppress it i'm like again not a scientist but i think there's something that your body releases like endorphins or something after you cry that actually makes you feel better yeah okay to wrap up i want to know what your favorites are from dub at the moment because obviously we've tried lots of new products there's been a couple that we've been testing for a while there's also probably a couple that we've had forever because it's like an incredible brand it's been around forever um we were saying actually earlier it's like it's really nice to see how it's evolved as a brand like yeah we've probably all had those such a legacy from like forever but like now having those sort of modern staples as well it's quite cool but yeah what are what are your favorites yeah i think mine probably has to be the advanced care shower cream um just kind of like how like lovely it leaves my skin feeling and like you know starting skincare in the shower is something that like I really believe in and yeah it's just it just feels really nice it smells beautiful it's like a little moment I look forward to um and also the cream based full body deodorant that's kind of like a new concept to me but again like combines like deodorizing with also like feeling like you're cooking after your skin so like you know your feet or like in the creases of your elbows just yeah i think anything that's kind of like cream based for me i really enjoy because it feels so nice on my skin because it's airs on the dry side amazing for me hands down has to be the refills i knew you were gonna say that yeah i have been using them for a little while now and i just firstly they're just really easy to have in my bag at all times and also like I love the packaging like feels so sleek looks amazing really easy to obviously put the refills in once it does kind of like run out but then also so great on my skin and my underarm and quite a chic little thing to have in your handbag as well that doesn't necessarily look like a really big ugly I know.

32:06Do you know what I mean? It's beautiful. You wouldn't know. And I love the colours. Pink, yellow, blue. Yeah. I'm very into blue at the moment. I definitely had the blue one. Very dark coded. To match the blue with my blue handbag as well. Oh yeah. That's a good idea. There we go. This is it. But yeah, I just think it's a really great kind of lifestyle hack. Mine's definitely the Body and Mind Shower Serum, because it's just that little luxury. it takes like five minutes and it just smells it feels amazing like love that um and then i actually for the first time yesterday have tried dove the shampoo and conditioner which i didn't know that they did until literally coming here and the lovely dove team had brought us some bits and yeah we spontaneously jumped in the pool i was like okay i'm gonna actually have to wash my hair now um so i tried it and i absolutely loved it it was like sort of um a focus on scalp health and kind of soothing your scalp.

33:45Let's move on to dilemmas. These are some audience questions that we have been sent. And guys, there are some good ones. You thought? We thought we left a dilemma. We thought we were like, I've got a dilemma. All right, okay. You can go. Number one. Everyone says fake it till you make it, but at what point does pretending to be confident actually become confidence? That is a good question. Because I truly do believe in the fake it till you make it. Yeah. I think it's like a mental thing though. Well that's it, it's you telling, it's like repeated patterns and you telling yourself like, this is where I belong, this is what I'm meant to be doing.

34:22So I think when it starts becoming like actual real life, is that you need to believe it. Like you need to believe in your own source. That's what I always say. And that will exude. 100%. Because I do think that a lot of the time, and I've been like this in the past, it's taken someone else to hype me up to believe something or like to believe or be confident in something. And I don't think that's the right way to do it. It's like you feeling it in your own like phones, like, yeah, I'm meant to be doing this or I'm meant to be doing it. Like, I think having to wait for someone else to reassure you is actually not how you're going to fully feel confident.

35:00So it's just, it is, yeah, like, it's always like having a mantra or, like, saying it to yourself or, like, even in the shower, guys, let's just go back to the shower, like, saying it in the shower or, like, in your head, whatever it is. I think that's when it starts to feel real. Yeah, I really do believe, like, that pushing yourself out of your comfort zone consistently does build confidence. Obviously, it's not, you know, necessarily the way that everyone wants to get there because it does require you being a bit uncomfortable. but you know I used to be really terrified of public speaking for example but I then had to kind of start doing that in this job and unfortunately just the more you do things the easier it becomes the more familiar you get and that by default does just breed confidence yeah um so I think you just have to believe you can do it even when something someone gives you the task and you're like oh my god I can't do that yeah just give it a go understand that like failure is a natural part of progression towards confidence and everyone fails even when they're still when they're at their a-game and feeling confident i really messed up something quite recently and was just like oh god i thought i was good at that but it's just you have bumps in the road and that's so normal but like just keep doing it keep at it and then i think that confidence builds over time okay i love that advice yes okay another one i changed my hairstyle and love it but some people don't why do strangers opinions feel louder than my own that's so rude first of all yeah really rude i know i completely relate though because it's almost just like people commenting almost like makes you feel like you're not capable of making good decisions for yourself you start doubting yourself and it's like actually no but you can't please everyone no you really can't if you like it yeah then that is literally the only opinion and that matters.

36:47You are living life for you, not for anyone else. Stand firm in that is what I truly believe. Don't let people sway your opinion on something that you've already made a decision about. Yeah. And also, yeah, just, I don't know, it's just extra noise that you really don't need to take on board. I feel like that ties back to the whole confidence thing we're talking about, like once you feel confident in yourself and what you're doing and your path and whatever, that sort of outside noise just goes. Yeah, it will literally be like water off a duck's back. Exactly. I love that saying, by the way. Okay, ooh, I've got a fun one from a girls' trip.

37:20Okay, me and my friends have been going back and forth on this. On a girls' trip, is it okay to bring someone back to the villa? Curious on your thoughts, what's the etiquette on this? This is a really good question. Right, there are a lot of, like, I'd say, variants or factors that depend on whether this is okay. Are you sharing a room? Yeah. First and foremost. Good point, good point. Then, obviously, no. However, if there are multiple rooms in the villa, crack on, babes. Yeah. Like, I am different. I do think that's a good point, actually. If you're going to ruin... I think it's like a boundary.

37:59If you're going to ruin anyone else's experience or their evening or their night by you doing it, then probably just don't. Yeah. But if it's not going to affect anyone else, then go for it. I know the other caveat to that would be you're on a girls' trip. really like it's for the kind of taking away these no boys allowed yeah yeah like you might think oh well no like we should be spending time together so you still might even if there are multiple rooms in it yeah you still might not want your friend to bring someone back because that's detracting from the time that you should be spending together because i really do see both sides of it i remember at uni like really like in first year of uni i had a boyfriend and my two like really good friends was just became single so obviously when we went out they wanted to like chat to guys and whatever and i was like so fine with that but then some nights you just want to have like girls time like i'm talking to boys i just want to boogie like yeah and i think just have the balance like maybe you don't do it every single night so you have that time with the girls and you're not just you know off with whoever yeah um but also like more power to you yeah exactly yeah also because that's why the craving could be the beginning of your last story that could be such a good story I guess the answer is that it's nuanced and yeah read the room maybe just check in with your girls yeah you know lay some ground rules and get some extra rooms in the villa okay final question girls I need some honest advice I saw a video of my boyfriend in the background of a distant mutual friend's Instagram story he was another girl when he said he was seeing his friends it I just have a gut feeling something isn't right but obviously I haven't and got all the information, what should I do?

39:36Should I find out more from the girl whose story it was, or should I just approach her head on and see what he says? Wow, I feel like social media these days. Oh, I know, tricky place. I mean, it's already like a bit of a, not red flag, I'm gonna say like pink flag, that he was somewhere that he said he wasn't gonna be. But like, has that been taken out of context? Did he see his friend and then like, they just went to the pub and then he was stood next to a girl while he was ordering a drink and had a very like, chill conversation. like what you're doing now like you're coming up with like making yeah different scenarios the only thing you can do is ask him head on does he have a track record of like being a bit of a naughty boy in the past and like if he does then perhaps it's something to worry about but if like he's given you no other reason to worry in the past then just like you say like just have a chat with him and be like hey i've seen this like can you just tell me what's going on yeah you do also have the option if you want to be a bit of an fbi agent is to just get in touch with the girl first and just be like did you see this man did you just to have a bit of my friends with why jessica fletcher what's that um you're too young to this you might be i actually think i might be yeah sorry she was like a really famous like private private eye detective woman um so we always say if she's trying to get some dirt on a guy we're like we'll send sarah she will be just a fletcher situation i like so that's what that's what the girl could do well that's the pod guys thank you so much make sure you check out all the rest of our content from our girls weekend with dub thank you so much dub for sponsoring this podcast make sure you check out the description for all the links to the fabulous products we've been talking about and if you haven't already this is your psa to please subscribe.
