In short
The SheerLuxe Podcast episode covers: what to wear to Wimbledon in hot weather, surviving a London heatwave with beauty must-haves, and 2026 home-interior trends.
Guests
Charlotte Collins (host), Polly Newman (15 weeks pregnant; dresses with elasticated waist; shares pregnancy “bans” for what people say), and Jen George (tan and outfits; recommends Greek food spots; discusses beauty and fashion).
Key claims
Wimbledon advice is to dress up without overdoing it—flowy tailored trousers/shirts, comfy shoes (flats), handheld fan, and sun cream; celebs can dress more because they’re transported and seated in air-con. Interior trends: personalization (painted ceilings, full-colour drenching, warm colors), color drenching, and curated heritage (antiques/vintage). Beauty examples: Estée Lauder Double Wear for heat, L’Oréal Elnett for flyaways, Larry King L-Net instead of pomade, Merit Complexion Stick, tubing mascara, and Oribe/“Way Bond Repair Balm” shower treatment. Polly also bans invasive pregnancy comments (e.g., “morning sickness,” “wait till…,” guessing before announcement).

On today's episode of the Sheerlux podcast, we are talking about all the interior trends that we are bringing into our home and the ones that we are leaving in the past. Oh, and I love like a painted ceiling as well. I love a painted ceiling. I love like a full colour drench. Well, we also talk you through all the beauty buys that you need in the ridiculous heat. You're going to be like, are you seriously recommending this? Because duh. But I never use this on my slip back.
0:37It's just a little bit of L-Net. Oh my God. Why are we not using that for slip? Everyone's like, oh, use this pomade. No, no. Just L-Net. Our unofficial guide to what to wear if you're going to Wimbledon in the next few weeks. People do dress up, but I think, you know, it's not about you. Yeah. Yeah. You know what I mean? I always think it's chica to just wear some like really like lovely, like flowy tailored trousers and a good like shirt or something. That's kind of like making a bit of an effort, but like without thinking like it's my fashion show day. Plus Polly breaks down all the things not to say to a pregnant person.
1:09We're banning morning sickness because it's not morning sickness. It's like all fucking day. And actually for me more in the evening. We have new episodes every Friday. So make sure you follow us on Spotify so you don't miss out.
1:32welcome to the sheer likes podcast with me charlotte collins this week i'm joined by polly newman and jen george p what are you wearing today kick us off um i'm wearing a jacket from a gold day uh tank from alex eagle some acne studios trousers that i got in vista village with you because like they're stretchy so around the waist ideal for me and some archie's flip Flops. Is this your first podcast since coming out? Coming out. As a pregnant woman. As a pregnant woman who are with child. I am with child, yes. Thank you. Yay. How many weeks are you now? I will be 15 tomorrow. So quickly, didn't I?
2:07Well, it doesn't feel quick to me, to be honest. It's been like the longest three months of my life. But we're happy. Six to go. Only another six months to go. When it's like 15. It's like you're actually pregnant for 10 months or something stupid. So weird. I don't really know. 40 weeks is 10 months. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, don't remind me. Sorry. It's a long way to go. What's your tip so far for dressing your bum? Elasticated waist, basically. That's my tip. I'll let you know if I have any more. I keep them coming. Jen, what are you wearing? I'm wearing a shirt from the With Nothing Underneath Lucy Williams collab.
2:39Shorts from With Nothing Underneath. Shoes from Master Suspensers. And bruises from Saturday Night. Cracking legs, though, Jen. Great, excellent legs, excellent tan. Shame about bruises. And fake tan. Yeah, I'm still on my fake tan journey. Yeah, I love this for you. What tan is this? This is Bare by Vogue, Gradual Tan. So good. The best. Which I apply with a mitt. And it's so, it's like, it's foolproof. If I can do it, anyone can. Love that for you. What were you doing to acquire those bruises? Good question. If I could remember. I ended up at Archer Street. Fun. It was really fun. But like, I say ended up, we had a friend's lunch.
3:13So we were in Archer Street by like 7pm. Okay, that's actually the ideal night. It was really fun. Yeah, we joined a hen do. Yeah. fun it's really good what are you wearing um i'm wearing this jacket is rua r-u-a-d-h really cool brand that really cool brand got it in new york when we were there um big fan i'm wearing cargo trousers from asos i'm just i really don't want any focus on my feet because this is a spray tan night and like people don't believe me when i talk about how pale i am naturally but like we do now like yeah you couldn't wear boots it was it's yeah 30 degrees outside so i'm wearing cold guy issues but please just give me a pass give me a pass I'll be so tomorrow just you wait yeah
3:58let's start with things we love I'm excited about yours hit us what are you loving well I mentioned the last time I was on the podcast I just started fame sick by Alina Dunham and I finished it and I've also just started re-watching girls as a result and just girls is so good it's almost better now watching it second time around and having read the book i think maybe we've talked about the book a little bit on the podcast already so i don't want to dwell on it too much but i loved it you've read it as well right yeah i loved it really did you read it or did you audiobook it i read it with my eyes not with my ears i read it with my ears okay yes how do you decide because you do read things with your eyes sometimes yeah yeah i really do my my difference my point of difference is i like somebody telling their own that's a good autobiography in my ears.
4:41That makes a lot of sense. So if somebody's reading a story about their lives, aka autobiography, then I like to listen to it. And it means I can have two things on the go at once. It's never going to cross over with fiction too much. It feels like it's got its own moment. Does that make sense? Yeah. I can't like, I feel like if I'm listening to something, I'd like end up doing something else and I get distracted. Yeah, fair. I'm very much like a physical booker. I thought it was, it's very much kind of of the sort of like Lewinsky, esque redemption arc, right? Like there's this person who, there was this public perception of them, of Lena Dunham, and then you read the book and you were like, wow, I was so swept up in the way - And quick to judge her.
5:22Yeah, and quick to judge and so swept up in sort of the way in which the media like portrayed or talked about women in that era, in the noughties. And then you take a step back and you're like, God, I was part of the problem. Because we, I mean, we all were. but it's so crazy how much she was vilified and and i think it says a lot as well about like you know modern cancel culture even and how we don't really allow people to have um to make mistakes and we sort of just as soon as they make a mistake we're like okay well that's that's you then like we don't yeah we don't give them any grace for kind of growing up and all sorts and i think like going forward it would be really nice like on the internet generally or like everywhere if you know obviously within reason, but like people should be allowed to make mistakes.
6:07She was so young. Yeah, she was. I think it went over our heads a bit at the time. Yeah, she was like 24 or something. It was like this huge international big hit and she was a kid, really. There's a really good book that came out last year called Girl on Girl, which is about the 90s and noughties culture and how media at that time pitted women against each other. And it's a British book, I can't remember the name of the author, but we'll put it on screen. and so it talks specifically about like Heat Magazine, you know, all of the kind of elements of British culture are tabloids that meant that women were really pitted against each other and it's got chapters for different women and different moments and there's stuff that you don't even remember that like all of it adds up to the problem.
6:47Well, there was like the Jodie Marsh and... Jodie Marsh that had that. Yeah, yeah. Katie Pricing. Do you remember High Street Honeys? Yeah, I think I do remember that. Was it FHM or one of those lad mags had High Street Honeys? It was like your boyfriends would like send in pictures of you. I was just like budget like makeshift videos yeah pretty grim isn't it what have you made of girls watching it retrospectively I guess aged well yeah I kind of think it has actually like I don't know don't cancel me if you think it hasn't but also maybe being a bit older as well and understanding dynamics between female friendships and like also them being that age and now being sort of like quite a bit older and looking back it's quite nostalgic in a way whereas like maybe when I first watched it I was like closer to that age so I felt more like it was like relatable whereas now I'm just like oh god yeah that was the time so yeah I saw I was listening to something last week that was saying that even though for a long time girls has been the epitome of millennial culture right and that they were kind of pitted as the ultimate millennial girls but actually when you watch it now like no they were like the OG Gen Z like Hannah was this like and I'm going to caveat by saying the kind of stereotype of Gen Z which is you know a bit lazy a bit entitled you know sort of wants it all very self-centered and actually that's not the millennial work ethic at all and that it's actually a very um yeah she was almost like a prelude to gen's age life i do think when you watch it back now you're like well it shows you quite how kind of whitewashed and sugar-coated all tv is now like there's stuff that they would be scared to be cancelled exactly yeah now i think and i think tv's worse for that yeah i agree um jen what are you loving Maza Mayfair oh yeah I feel like Greek like Greek foods had a real like glow up in London and there's obviously Zephyr there's is it one called Gaia yeah I've been there so there's a new-ish one off of Barclays Square called Maza and just really delicious really just Greek food quite a good vibe yeah I had the most delicious cocktail I've had in ages it was so nice that I made everyone at my table try it oh what was it And it was like a work dinner as well.
8:52So everyone that I don't know that will try. I think it was just called a Santorini, but essentially it was a vodka martini, but instead of, it was based on a tomato consomme. So essentially it was like a clear tomato consomme with vodka in it. This is nice. So my favorite cocktail in the world is at Heckfield Place and they do a, it's like a, it's a Bloody Mary meets a tomatini thing. And it's exactly that. It tastes like distilled tomato juice. refreshing sweet savory unbelievable i'd go just for that so chic this is so i would never i would never normally recommend like the chicken but did you have the chicken stew blacky i was that's the other thing i had written that the chicken stew blacky was unbelievable oh my god and actually i was talking to em the nutritionist about it the other day whose taste and food i rate she was like did you have the chicken i was like i know so highly rate yeah and a really good tuna as well yeah delicious can i okay a few things first of all yeah i just this is not that helpful as a of a recommendation because you can't go anymore.
9:50But I saw Bad Bunny on Saturday night. Oh my God. It was so fun. My God. Unbelievable. Unreal. Like, so we went to Harry Styles last week. I'd say it was lovely. It's Harry Styles, it's jolly. And it's the first time I've been to Wembley since seeing Taylor Swift on the Era's tour, which was like an off the scale, like production and energy in the room. And so Harry felt already a bit like, you know, not that kind of energy. Like it wasn't the same level of like togetherness. Fandom. Yeah, like Harry obviously was amazing. Everyone loves Harry, but Taylor was like, felt like something special.
10:22Bad Bunny was like another level of special. So he's the first Latin American artist to ever headline a UK stadium. And yeah, you could just like feel something in the room. There were very few Brits in the room. That's great though, so people actually knew the lyrics. Oh my God, we were like the only little white girls in the corner, just like bopping along to the songs. But that made it amazing. Like everyone had their flags. It was a very kind of tight demographic of like, it was probably 18 to 35, like maybe to 40. Like only, you know, no kids, which not that that's the problem, but it just made it a very like, it was such a kind of positive, exciting, I've never, like the decibel level, I've never heard sound like it.
11:01It was just epic. Is he doing more or is it just - Just in London, he just did the two nights this weekend. But if you could go elsewhere in Europe, honestly, incredible. I'm really enjoying controversially seeing people post like gig content on social like I know like historically it's been like obviously it's not as good through a phone but to gigs you aren't able to go to like Bad Bunny actually I really felt like I got a sense of the energy so now I'm like I understand what you're talking about I think the recent gigs as well have all been quite joyful like him and Harry Styles and people like that it's quite joyful to see that kind of energy I think people have a great time like ballads and things but I also think it drives ticket sales had it not been all over TikTok had it not been being served I wouldn't have been that interested in going I wouldn't have really known about it.
11:43I would like, that looks fun. But I'm going to Terry Styles on Friday and I would say I'm not a huge mega fan of his. I like his music, but my friend asked if I wanted to come. But because I've seen it on socials and it looks really fun, I was like, yeah, okay. Like that looks really, I'm sure I'll have a great time. 100%. Stay till the end, because he does as it was at the very end. Okay. We also need to talk about Vienko, who we are coming to the end of our second partnership with. And what a partnership it's been. So you might remember that last year we did a partnership with them which involved naming a palette after our team members Which was so much fun.
12:18I painted the top room in my house the Charlotte with a little bit of a flex to be able to like Paint your house I know I need to post it more and get more people to ask me what color is yeah, and be able to tell them But we had a palette of eight different colors from the Lou to the Nana to the Sampner. We've got a full spectrum of colors and And we've been back for more. Have you guys seen the AI rooms that our team designed using the colors? Unbelievable. So honestly, so cool. We'll put pictures up as we're talking, but the team took the palette to basically showcase how you can use them in your rooms.
12:52But what I'm loving is quite how well you can integrate all of these colors into the trends. So Laura did a very nice trend report. So I'm gonna run you through some of the current interiors trends. And I'd like your opinions on them. Okay, so number one, the biggest trend is personalization. 2026 is all about individuality rather than trend replication it's less about creating an instagram house and more about creating a home that tells your story guys i've done that because i painted mine in the charlotte so what have you done yeah what have you done i feel like your home is very personal to you yeah i think it is too like we're doing lots of rooms bit by bit um that makes it sound like a little mansion but no we're just doing um as as we can but we just painted our wardrobes in our room in a really nice mustardy yellow color, which I like the satna.
13:35Yeah. And it's bringing me a lot of joy. Like, I don't know, like, it's really nice to kind of make your space feel like a reflection of you. I feel like this, this style of your home, like the shape of your home is on you is personal to you because it's quite unusual. Yeah. Like it's a converted chapel. So it's quite an unusual space, I guess. Um, but when we bought it, it was quite like, like loved it beautiful but like didn't feel like a reflection of me slash us and it's been so nice going through the process of like just making it feel a little bit more quirky and like modern but still um sort of honoring the original features and stuff it's just it's a fun process and like before you start i think sometimes you're like oh god it's gonna be such a like late you know doing the work but actually like halfway through i'm not even finished with this like bedroom renovation but it's like the paint, I'm just like, oh!
14:26I wake up and I feel so happy, yeah. I also think with paint, like our house is quite colorful and sometimes I'm like, oh, maybe I've gone a bit far, you could just paint over it. 100%. And I think, I don't wanna bring up COVID, but like pre-COVID I feel like a lot of people's houses, including my old flat was like, it was all very gray and muted and everything. Well that was the trend, wasn't it? It was the trend also, but I think potentially something to do with COVID is now people, they're in the house and like, I want it to feel happy in here. I want it to feel like me and I don't care if it's not on trend.
14:54And so many more of my friends now integrating way more color into their places, which I love. I think people are scared of color. And so they think that the way to do it is to have neutral walls and then bring your color in. I actually think that's way harder. I think if you just start with one really bright, fabulous color, then actually the rest sort of takes care of itself. I love like a painted ceiling as well. I love a painted ceiling. I love like a full color drench. Well, yeah, I just always, I feel like I like cozy and I like warmth. and so you know I've got like a terracotta this room and green that room and I know that people think that's a brave choice but I find that easier yeah than trying to bring warmth in having gone something yeah like when you walk into your living room the first thing you notice is the color of the walls and it just feels so like striking but inviting and memorable and like you know I probably couldn't tell you like what color your furniture bits are but I know exactly what color that living room is and it's so cool to like go into a space and it just not just be like white yeah like white you know has its place like a lot of my home is you know a shade of white but it's just like oh cool like it's just fun isn't it to go into a space like that yeah i agree it brings me a lot of joy um okay another trend is color drenching well there we go i actually i did paint a little box room walls and ceiling but then that room became like the dumping ground and I'm really sad about it.
16:15I really need to get everything out so we can actually use that space. Yeah. That's by the by. Colour dressing. Have you guys done painted skirting boards as well? That was a tip that George did. We're doing that next actually. So that's one of our next, like you, we don't have a huge place, but equally we don't have a huge budget. So we're doing things bit by bit and our next thing is the hallways and we're going to do, yeah, coloured skirting and also like all around the door frames and things. When that room was originally painted, all of the skirting and the woodwork was still white and Georgie was like, paint that.
16:43and she's absolutely right it's such a subtle difference isn't it but it it really works even like painting the back of the door sometimes in a color you know i really feel like you're in that zone agreed all of our doors are black which also like i think the guy who built the house like always he kind of gave us the option and i wouldn't have thought to do that and i'm so grateful that we have that because it gives the doors like a bit more warmth and personality as well rather than just being white yeah helps um okay curated heritage is another one we're moving away from homes that feel like they've been decorated overnight instead it's all about spaces that look collected over time think antiques vintage finds inherited furniture i know you're good at that big antica yeah anytime we go anywhere basically in the world now shipping fees depending where antique shopping do you ship things home because i'm always really scared of that we have a couple of times but most of the time we'll buy things that hopefully will fit in the car but loads of places now will do really good deals on shipping and or you can buy it through a dealer so you can potentially find something and then say like antiques dealer like do you have a way of getting this back for me what's your best find God, loads.
17:42We've got this really gorgeous cabinet in our bathroom, which is, I think it's Edwardian. It's a dark wood, and it says on it sort of tinctures, potions, and something. And it's just the perfect size as well. Whenever I go, I basically have a list on my phone of the spaces in my house that need furniture with the measurements. That's amazing. Including walls and things. Anywhere I go, I'll know if it's going to fit. That's so clever. That's great. What about you? Have you got any vintage beds in your house? I actually just ordered some vintage bedside tables for our bedroom actually from a place called Petit Tresor.
18:14And I think they source like antiques and vintage furniture from France and the UK and they sort of ship between the two once a month. So you can get the quite easy. And I find the price is quite reasonable. I'm kind of like, I don't want to get my gatekeep. I want to get you in a way because it feels like a slight hidden gem. But yes, I think I remember watching, I think it was like Georgie's home tour on YouTube like years ago and she talked about how having at least one piece of antique furniture in a room is like a must because it just kind of like grounds it and gives it some like personality and if everything's too new it feels too polished and it's really stuck with me and now I kind of I find a lot of joy in like finding vintage clothes and and it just feels very satisfying so I am trying to uh to find more vintage furniture so yeah watch this space I do think that also obviously we know there's amazing neutral colors in our v &co palette and in the whole v &co range but i do think that the conversation before about warm colors helps bring all of that into it doesn't it that whole kind of as you said before that white that gray that very stark look yeah is not so much of a trend anymore so bringing in those warmer colors definitely helps with that kind of antiquey feel doesn't it so in summary the most stylish homes in 2026 are not the ones that are just cookie cutter and are not the ones that follow the trends what's one thing that's either coming for your house or that you'll want to do next that you're excited about i am about to embark on a big bathroom renovation upstairs and it's gonna be blue and kind of like burgundy color and we're gonna get like a vintage like sort of what you call it vanity unit and put like blue sinks now i'm so excited it's just gonna be like like currently our bathroom is quite like white and gray and of its time i'm so excited to inject a bit more color in it yeah have you thought about baby room i have started mood boarding the nursery that's exciting which is like feels kind of surreal i'm very grown up but yeah i want to make that really fun as well there's some really cool inspiration out there for that yeah it's so true a lot of people go boring for nurseries but like i'm definitely not gonna do like sad beige baby it's gonna be like they love color too right yeah they do stimulating i've seen a lot of people doing once yeah like fun wallpaper or something yeah yeah i'm um clouds on the ceiling yeah i'm I'm excited to like get into that era of my life, but also terrified.
20:34Let's move on to fashion finds. Fashion, there's mostly beauty in here. So tell me. Surprise, surprise. Tell me your fashion and beauty finds, P? Well, my first is a beauty find. It's the Merit Complexion Stick. It's not a new product, but it's something that I have recently tried and I absolutely love it. It's like, I know everyone talks about it kind of being like your skin but better, but like genuinely like the way it blends is so nice and like I'm wearing it today and I feel like it's so good for summer where you've got like a bit of a tan and you don't want to cake your face too much but just gives you a little bit more like even texture and it's been so good for me.
21:13It's kind of the minimalist isn't it? And that's the whole thing. Yeah, it's like it's just, you can just use it as little as you need or as much as you need. Yeah. Can you use it as a foundation like across your face? It's not just good. It's not really far. Yeah, it's really good, quite buildable, but I've just been kind of like putting it like in the bits I need it and it's really worked for me. It was great. You've also got Billie's new collab with Rixo. Oh my God, yeah. So Billie, but yeah, a friend of Shina Lux, she's just released, or launched, her second collaboration with Rixo. And it's great.
21:45It's so pretty. It's the first one with the sellout, right? Yeah, it does so well. And it's size inclusive, lots of gorgeous, floaty pretty dresses that are kind of I think what I really like about her collections is that she really thinks about obviously what they look like them being stylish but also kind of what you want to wear when it's really hot and sunny and like last week I wore the gorgeous sort of like lemon yellow um cotton dress which was just so good for the heat so like breathable and lovely and floaty and I just you know I got like you know a couple of strangers in the street going beautiful dress and that's always like nice isn't it so nice thanks so much and like I'm finding it quite hard to find clothes that make me feel good at the moment but I felt really good in that good and the rest of the collection is beautiful so definitely check it out she did a dinner last week when we were in Cannes and it was really sweet that there was like you, Nana, Emma who's here and everyone was wearing the collection but everybody looked so different and it looked like them and yeah it was something for everyone such a good vibe actually a real sort of reflection on Billie that you know everyone that came to that dinner was just like lovely great people thriving in their industries it was like oh go on Bills yeah yeah Gem what's on your list what are you loving obviously it's weird to be talking about a jumper I know I'm fascinated but a cotton I love a cotton knit in the summer in the like in the evenings when it gets cool I love that kind of preppy like cape cod and J.Crew do that best and every year they do a sort of chunky but cotton knit roll neck and they have one which has I feel like it's quite you actually it has fish on it so it's maybe blue with like red sort of sardini fish on it really gorgeous because obviously it's hot as hell but like it's not going to be forever guys so there's like balmy nights or like strolls on the beaches yeah i always think about like my like holidays in like cornwall i always want to bring like a little cotton it's very nice yeah it's very british beaches yeah or it's the east coast yeah um and then beauty actually another merit product um that's just come out is they've got a new mascara it is a tubing mascara which I've talked about before that's all I wear which basically come off in sort of clumps of tubes rather than melting off and it's so lightweight so a lot of tubing mascaras because of their nature can be quite heavy quite thick this one is really lightweight but it keeps your lashes lifted all day long really nice I've got it on today yeah really really good and then the other product is a hair product that I have been blown away by Orin recommended it to me.
24:14It's the way Bond Repair Balm. I also use it. It's so good. It's so good. It is like the best hair product I've tried in years. But what does that mean? You put it on in the shower for three minutes instead of conditioner. And it's quite, it's almost like a sort of like a balmy texture. You're only supposed to put one, I guess for your hair, maybe you use one pump, I use three. And you work it in your hands so it does sort of emulsify a little bit. Work it through your hair, leave it on for three minutes. and it just makes your hair so glossy, glossy, stronger, the anti-frizziness of it. Yeah, it's so good.
24:48And especially my hair's very dry and because I dye it as well, it's just very unhappy with me and it's just made my hair so happy. Oh, I love it. It's amazing. It's a little bit pricey for, I guess, for a hair product. People don't always want to invest as much as in skincare. And I really think you should. But yeah, it's 45 pounds, but you don't have to use it every single wash. This summer, Prime Video takes you back before Legally Blonde, before law school and into the world of Elle Woods in high school. Set in 1995, this Gemini vegetarian knows exactly who she is until her family moves from Bel Air to Seattle.
25:21Packed with iconic fashion, 90s nostalgia, and a throwback soundtrack, Elle proves one thing. Law school was hard. High school was harder. From the world of Legally Blonde, watch Elle, a new original series only on Prime Video. Watch now. Yeah, like, if it's only a pump that you need, like, for my sort of hair length, you really don't need much. Yeah. And that does go a long way. Yeah, yeah. A long way. Yeah, I'm probably going to finish it in a month. Because I'm using loads and I wash my hair every day. You wash my hair every day, exactly. Well, most people will probably last a good few months.
25:49Yeah, great. And also, I feel like so many women do have gripes with their hair. So if you're both raving about it. Yeah, and actually I've heard from people who have textured and curly hair. Yeah. That's really helped because that hair type is very dry as well normally. That it's really helped bring definition back to their curls. And take the frizz out, I guess. So I think, yeah, it's not too heavy if you have fine hair. But equally, it's going to be really great if you have thick hair. I need this. It's really good. What are you loving? I think that. So last week obviously it was stinking hot in London, but we were, me, Hodge, Daisy and Eloise were in Cannes for Cannes Lions, which is a big marketing and advertising.
26:19I was gonna say festival, it's not a festival, it's a conference. Woo, beautiful dance. Conference with like a little bit of festival vibes to it. And the kind of endurance test part of it, I mean there's quite a lot of it that is quite an endurance test, but it was 34 degrees every day and we were outside the hotel, we left the villa at 7.30 in the morning and got back at midnight and like there was no air con in between like there was no there's no bathroom with air con there's no you know you're just outside the whole day so really relied on some beauty heroes so i will run you through the things that really worked i wore estee lauder double wear every day which i know is quite counterintuitive because it's heavy but like when you need your makeup to last day and i was doing panels and then we were going straight to nice restaurants for dinner like it had to stay put and that was honestly an mvp i didn't have to touch up once so they've changed the formula recently haven't they they have it's more hydrating like if you just actually need something to work really hard and stay with you all day actually i'm going to give a few recommendations of old school products because the other thing is i didn't bring any products with to slick back my hair and that was like the only option so we love a bit of larry king flyaways social life your hair social life your hair thank you that was great daisy had that with her the other thing she had with her you're going to be like are you seriously recommending this because duh but i never use this on my slip back it's just a little bit of lnet and it made i've i've ordered lnet i need it back in my life oh my god why are we not using that for everyone's like oh use this pomade is no no just on it a lot of hairdressers will also spray it on your hairbrush yes yeah rather than yeah i just feel like my hair didn't look greasy or sometimes the pomades the waxes they can make my hair look really greasy especially because of the blonde and just a little bit of the larry king and then set with the elnette between that and my foundation i was good to go all week nothing Icon for a reason.
27:58Exactly, yeah. He is an icon for a reason. And the other thing is, this is not an ad, but we are obviously working with him, but the Dove entire body range. By the way, I watched back the BTS on Friday afternoon. I put it on my TV. Oh, I got such foam. Oh, it looked such heaven. It was quite different to Cannes, I would say. Yeah, we had a lovely time. And it was so awesome. Oh, just having a tea and biscuit after a massage. Are you now? It was so nice, yeah. So nice. I also am loving their deodorants. Yeah, the best. They just smell so good. They came in to do a kickoff session when this partnership started in January and brought a load of the refillable roll-on ones.
28:33And I've not used a roll-on deodorant for about 20 years. And now it's all I use. I love it. It's something so fun about it. Yeah. I also like the way that the lid, this is hard to describe, but when you put the lid on it, it doesn't squash the sides of the deodorant. Yeah. Because it's within it. So it doesn't sort of, you know, some deodorants with the roll-ons, it will just squash all the product down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Does that make sense? It goes like product, plastic casing, lid. There's some space, yeah. And fashion wise, I'm actually, I'm trying not to buy too much because I'm aware that autumn's going to come around in six weeks and I'm going to want to spend all my money then.
29:04Like nearly bought, it was like, was looking at some shoes and I was like, baby, I need a coat. In like eight weeks, you're going to want to buy a coat. So I'm just going to, I'm going to hold off now. I think I bought some boots today that were in the sale. I mean, they're still like Kate boots and they're not like cheap, but they're 40 % off, like little black boots with a zebra toe, pony hair in the front. And I sent them to Sharon Lou being like, should I buy these and like that she, Shara's never ride fast enough. She's like, yes, 100%. Because also I have a couple of pairs of cape boots and they are the comfiest shoes in the whole world.

30:04okay time for celebrity Wimbledon starts this week Serena Williams is coming out of retirement I'm going to my first ever Wimbledon oh my god when next Monday I don't understand how it's possible with the amount of entertaining that we like you know are so grateful to receive beauty brands don't do so much there historically interesting yeah and I I've it's not that I've like won't queue but I've never kind of been in a job where I can be like oh can I take tomorrow off because I want to go yeah yeah it's gonna be nice yeah I really like tennis I've just never been so it's so you're going to have the best yeah day what do you wait I TBD actually I need to figure that out what day are you going Monday which is the so I'm going with Lululemon who sponsor one of the players but it's also quarterfinal day that'll be fun Fun girl.
30:48So good, are you going? I'm going on Thursday. Oh wait. What are you wearing? I, again, TBD. I'm a bit like confused by the temperature. It's like, I don't really wanna like overheat. I've got some options. Basically I've got the tickets because I did some consulting on Wimbledon's retail collection. This is so cool. Which is like the coolest thing I've ever done. I was like, as if, like, you sure you wanna ask me? But they're like clothing collection, which is kind of a mix of like performance wear but also stuff that you can wear a bit more casually um sort of like had a look at that and gave him some styling options it's really cool it's the best i've seen um so i think i might wear something from that integrate some of that yeah yeah but although as somebody who's been before what is your people are always asking what to wear to mumbledore so what is your advice like to get what do you need again it really depends on like the day and the weather and stuff but like it does get quite hot i would say so definitely don't over dress too much i also don't think you need to like people do dress up but i think you know it's not about you yeah yeah i mean i always think it's chica to just wear some like really like lovely like flowy tailored trousers and a good like shirt or something that's kind of like making a bit of an effort but like without thinking like it's my fashion show day yeah well you see a lot of celebs that dress to the nines but you need to remember that they have cars picking them up and dropping them out yeah and they're sat in air conditioned exactly but if you are a punter and you are having to because it's not near the station you know you're having to get either the big the shared buses or you're queuing for taxis and walking quite a long way and walking up the hill and stuff like that yeah wear comfy shoes i've been buggered by the shoe i've worn before so i'd wear flats or really comfy heels yeah and like bring a little handheld fan definitely yeah i think that i mean i think most of us have got those after the last week yeah for like, yeah, definitely bring that for the stands.

32:36And sun cream. Like table sun cream. Oh God, yes, bring sun cream. But it's just the best day. Yeah, it's the best day. And Serena's back. I know, I'm really, really hoping I get to see Serena. Braddock is out. Did you see Jack Drake dropped out this morning as well? Did he? Oh no, how come? He dropped out. He dropped out, he's injured. Oh God, what a disappointment. Shame. I know. And Carlos is not playing. No. So it's going to be a bit of an open tournament though. Yeah, but really nice to see some different people like to not have just a Sina and Proud's final is a bit more interesting yeah I'm going to women's finals that's so cool I know I've been a few times but I've never been to a final so yeah let's hope though because the one last year was 59 minutes long that was quite that was quite unpleasant to watch last year actually like yeah it was a sort of quite boring but also really like yeah like a bit of a dive to the heart but I'm like a massive Sabalenka fan so I'm just really hoping I get to see Sabalenka go hard on the court yeah I saw her play at Rylan Garros last year so yeah I'm hoping I was like I'm going to see Serena Williams Ben was like no you're not but you might you never know I'm hoping because the day I'm going is like the second round hopefully and she only dropped out of Queen's because her partner did and I might get the day I go is also the doubles finals so like maybe she'll play in the doubles if she's not in the is she playing doubles or singles at Wimbledon I think she was doubles anyway and then got the singles wild card could be wrong.
34:00Yeah, you might be right. I think she would be right, yeah. So she doubles with Venus. Yeah, I think, no, no, I think you're right. I think they are. I think she, no, no, no. I think she's doing it with Venus. Is she? So cool. Can we also talk about, love that you've got this on the list, Kendall and Jacob in Australia. Well, partly because I saw pictures yesterday when they are, they look like they're about to rob a bank. It's quite gawk. You can't see an inch of skin on them. And it's almost like, a lot of people come to me and be like, I'm not going to do an accent, but like, guys, it's Brisbane.
34:25like no one cares about celebrities here. Right. But then someone said, I don't know if you guys can validate this for me, is that the paparazzi, they are not worth as much money, the pictures, if you can't like see as much of the celebrity. That makes sense. Like maybe the reason they're covering up is because of that. Maybe they don't want to be seen or maybe they do want to be seen in their form. I mean, because they were literally, it would look like - Yeah, it was ridiculous. It would look like a sort of sandstorm was about to hit. Yeah, it was giving June. Or like burning. It was giving June.
34:52Yeah. It was bonkers. but I do, I ship them. Is that the phrase? I ship too. You are so Gen Z. So Gen Z. I love that. You picked up. Wait, what's the stan? I stan, no. I think that's quite millennial. Do you stan a singular person? Yeah, whereas you ship a couple. Ship a couple, yeah. Sounds so old. Can someone gender let me know in the comments? No, I'm with you. I think like, what beautiful match made in heaven. What next? Yeah. It was a bit like, do you remember when Harry Styles was seen? I mean him with Zoe is another level as well but when he was seen snogging Emirato oh my god in Tokyo that night naturally you know yeah hot another couple that I really ship Dura and Callum on their honeymoon I know it's obvious but like I really just believe I'm just loving the love yeah they just feel like they're really obsessed with each other yeah and I love to see that like he's not playing it cool he's just like yeah she's fucking hot and I love her she's so hot yeah like unbelievable unreal I also find him really fit though do you it's quite my type I do too He doesn't really do it for me.
35:52I actually think they look so alike. Like literally have the same face. Do you think? Isn't there something in that though, like scientifically that you go for like faces that are like sort of similar to yours because you find that. That's why some couples, what's that game? Sibling or the dating. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I love that game. Speaking of fabulous Hollywood couples, we've also got Zendaya. It's the love though. I'm loving the love. I love their love. Yeah. It's cute. It's so cute. My TikTok feed is like 60 % Tom and Zendaya matchups. He's so protective of her. They're so special. He's so manly for a short king.
36:23For a human that is not naturally manly looking. He's got real like masculine energy, I think. I think he is quite manly looking. I mean, he's not like rugged, obviously. He's petite. I mean, he plays like the biggest superhero in the world. Yeah, that is true. Bit of masculine energy. Did you see she turned up Zendaya to a premiere in like a 24 quid t-shirt? I think that she can get away with it because like her and Laura, her stylist, or sorry her image architect have um like she served so many looks throughout a press tour that she can get away with doing the odd like t-shirt with heels because the night before she did something did you see the dress that had the incredible cobwebs down the back yeah yeah see i said last year or maybe started this i'm actually really sick of the theme of press tours apart from zendaya so yeah i'm like you do it hun because you're doing it well but everyone else everyone else is lame but they've always done it her and law have always done that and so we've got the odyssey later this year so we can afford a lot of what grecian roman i don't know style it's greek isn't it and then we've also got june 3 later this year so there's plenty more to come from her in terms of red carpet thematic dressing hot topic polly what are the things you would ban people from saying if you were prime minister okay so about pregnancy so specifically about pregnancy are you getting a list out and i'm kind of interested to really hear in the comments if anyone's got anything similar um but these are some things that keep coming up and i wish people would stop saying i'm gonna take notes uh number one have you tried ginger biscuits for your sickness yes i fucking tried ginger biscuits please stop um does your dog know what like lots of people asking whether the dog knows i'm like he barks at animals on the tv he doesn't have a fucking clue that i'm pregnant do you think they're just trying to be inclusive like it's the Yes, they are.
38:11But I'm also just like, they are but shut up. Like, he's not very smart. We're banning morning sickness because it's not morning sickness. It's like all fucking day. And actually for me more in the evening. That's surprising. I also hate it when people say like, wait till this. Like, so if you say, oh, I'm feeling like very blah blah. And they're like, oh, but wait until this happens. It's like, it's almost just kind of diminishing someone's experience. But it will happen once you've had it too. I've got friends that babies sleep really, really well and people are like, wait till the regression.
38:42It's just like, why are you saying that? Can I bring me down? It's like a weird inverted smugness. It is. Of like, I've been through this before. Yeah. Or jealousy. Yeah, and it's just like, okay, just let someone feel what they're feeling right now and not try and like trump card them with something else. Yeah, all it means is that they have just been further along that experience than you, but it doesn't mean, also it's not the same. Yeah, it's never the same. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. I find it really wild. Goes without saying, asking if someone's pregnant before they've told you. Yeah. Like that's like very invasive.
39:08Like some people have messaged me like, are you pregnant? And I was like, well, obviously I am, but I'm not gonna tell you. I'm not told the world yet. But at least you are, because I get that all the time when I'm fucking not. Yeah. Let's just ban that. I've had it like, I've had my nail tech once be like, congrats. And I was like, no. No. And then she goes, I thought it may be like 12 weeks. I was like, well, that's still too early to be. Yeah. That's why I'd be asking. What about me is giving 12 weeks pregnant? Just like for the record. Stop commenting on whether people, it's so offensive. Once and for all.
39:33just like I know sometimes people think it's well-meaning but for a variety of reasons just don't until someone like announces it tells you just don't ask yeah just don't ask and like chances are if you're a stranger in our dms we're not going to be like you know what you got haven't told everybody else but I'm gonna tell you yeah it's not competition you don't win a prize for guessing early absolutely not that's my list one thing that I don't like hearing people say because most of my friends have had babies is when a husband or boyfriend or partner or the the daddy will say we're pregnant yeah no i don't like that either we're having a baby is fine but not you're not we're pregnant okay fine i shut them down very quickly if i hear that yeah absolutely not it's also like you know you as the woman are going through a lot of things that unfortunately the husband just cannot understand he gets to have a bit of fun yes another dad related one i hate is when people say daddy daycare about you know when the dad dad is just looking after that.
40:30No one's ever said mommy daycare. It's like, sorry, what? Like, it's just, you're just looking after your child. That's called parenting. Like, I just, yeah, I found that. Yeah. Really gross. Yeah, it's wild. Like, I think the more, the more of your friends have children, the more you work with people who, you know, who have children of different ages, the more you see just like how it defaults to mom all the time. And it's in our language, you know, the way we talk about daddy daycare or whatever. Like, it's, yeah, it's still pretty uneven. I think it's that you can't win, right? if you if you've I've had a lot of judgment for people about not knowing if I want kids or not having kids and then you get pregnant and you get all the judgment and then you have one kid you get the judgment and then you get the judgment of when you're gonna have your second yeah oh my god it's never ending or if you have too many my friend has four and people are like oh my god too many yeah how can I wait yeah I basically just think like one piece of advice I actually did really appreciate was from my friend who's had a couple kids and she's just like what you need to understand is that people will give you advice and you can you just can choose to ignore as much of it as you like because it's your it's so personal everyone's child's different and people will try and give you advice but just kind of block it out like in a way and just listen to the bits that you actually find useful yeah yeah very much so there's definitely a before and after and the people who are in the after can sometimes be tempted into yeah so my mom said the the other day that somebody, she was talking to somebody and they said, oh, you know, any grandchildren yet?
41:53And I was like, no, no. And like, oh, you know, they're not that interested. And he goes, don't worry, it will happen. And she was like, I wanted to punch the man. Outrageous, so patronizing. Like this kind of assumption that like, everybody wants it, so don't worry, it's just a phase. Yeah, I know, go off. Okay, well, maybe you could drop a note to our incumbent PM. Could get him on his, get a manifesto going. Because there isn't one currently, so you know.
42:23right let's end with some listener dilemmas um somebody's asked best makeup tip for hot weather i think i covered that jen anything to add i think one makeup tip i have hot weather is potentially i have quite oily skin is actually to not bother with foundation so use a really good fake tan or a kind of glowy base something like the v primer or barbastam have just brought these glow drops which are great to just give yourself a bit of an even skin tone then a tiny bit of concealer where you need it um and then go on with some bronzer or some blusher just to add some color into your face but i honestly on the hottest days last week i there was barely any coverage on my face yeah what about a setting spray do you rate setting sprays yeah setting spray or a powder yeah um but equally a it sounds counterintuitive but your skin when it's hot will get drier as well so even just something like a really nice lightweight mist that's the one i love this question what's something everyone seems to love that you've never understood such as cold plungers matcha or designer water bottles all of all three of you yeah literally i think people that like matcha are liars i do like a trendy water bottle i just think with matcha anyone i know that likes matcha this is a generalization anyone that i know any of my friends like matcha like sapna for example i was like do you actually like that she's like yeah but only if it has vanilla strawberry whatever so you don't like matcha i like it as a vehicle for sweetened milk green sweet milk it's like a grown-up like choccy milk yeah yeah but not chocolate but you know yeah yeah just sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet sweet yeah it's like just admit that i did not understand the boobies that blew my mind i also i'm not i mean you're obviously really hot in sustainability and things i was like this is either all gonna happen at landfills yeah it's awful like we're all just contributing to this huge i agree pollution yeah that's toxic really weird Cueing for bakeries Or any kind of like restaurant To be honest with you I don't like it Especially in London There's so much choice I just think like No like either let me book That also gets a bit of a gripe But like If you know You know you see people queuing Another one for the Prime Minister Yeah Let me book Let me book But like you see people Queuing out the door For like August bakery Or something And I'm just like I know it's good But like Is it good enough to queue for 20 minutes.
