In short
SheerLuxe SLMan discussion blending fashion, celebrity culture, and entertainment. They debate whether partners should allow solo holidays, review the film The Odyssey (Owen/“The Odyssey”/Christopher Nolan’s style), and cover social-media trends including “EGYO” (K-pop–inspired “natural under-eye puff” authenticity). They also debate men’s feet exposure in summer, socks, sandals, and summer sneaker/trainer shopping.
Guests (hosts)
Harvey, Polly, and Adam (SheerLuxe SLMan podcast team). They speak from personal style experience and shopping preferences; no other named guests appear in the transcript.
Key claims
Double-logo outfits and TikTok-style shirt tricks are acceptable if you “slay.” Men should avoid bare feet in trainers; feet exposure feels “dangerous”/“exposed” in London. EGYO is used to frame celebrities (notably Jude Bellingham) as “sweet/authentic” via viral montages. The Odyssey’s realism and star power “take you out” of the film; the ending fight feels choreographed.
Notable examples
Matt Damon on a horse; “Timothée Chalamet” and “DiCaprio” fourth-wall fame; Adam Peaty bronze-disappointment discourse; Katie Price doc; Hudson Williams viral “stalking”/fandom controversy; Jude Bellingham talking to kids and Spanish-speaking; Porsche Cayenne Electric ad.

Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:00This week we have got another SheerLuxe SLMan special podcast for you and me, Harvey, Adam and Polly are getting into the latest collab that you need to know about. Lots of admiration for your trousers. They're coming out this week so they're not even out yet. Is this the first time they've done men's in the Ace of Sadidas? Yeah, you're right. We tell you what we like and didn't like about the biggest movie release of the year so far. All of those things completely took me out of the film. So I was watching it thinking, oh, I can't believe Matt Damon was stuck in that horse. Or wow, they all got so wet, or that must have been so tiring.
0:34Rather than just taking the film for what it was. All I could think about was Matt Damon going through all of those genuine things. Harvey explains to us the newest trend taking over social media, and we try to get to grips with it. EGYO. EGYO is kind of like quite a cute thing. I find it quite weird actually. Wait, what do you find what weird? It's so cute, it's so great. I was like, no. So weird. Plus, we share what we're shopping for men and for women right now. We solve our dilemmas and we answer the age-old debate. Should men get their feet out in summer? No, I would get my feet out of the beach, obviously.
1:09But that's like, it's a natural environment to do it. I feel like London is quite a hard place to have your feet out. For me, anyway. Because it's dangerous. Because you stub your toe or something. No, I just feel a little bit exposed. You literally play with fire every day. So stay tuned. It's a good one. This episode of the Sheerlux podcast is brought to you in partnership with Porsche and the all-new Cayenne Electric. At Sheerlux, we're always talking about investing in pieces that combine beautiful design with everyday practicality, whether that's fashion, interiors, or the products we use every day.
1:37The Cayenne Electric feels like a natural extension of that, bringing together the brand's signature design and performance with the versatility and space you need for modern life. Whether it's the daily commute, weekends away, family plans, or everything in between, It is designed to fit seamlessly into your routine while making every journey feel that little bit more elevated. If you've never thought of Porsche as the brand for you, the Cayenne Electric might just change your mind. Find out more, visit the Porsche website.
2:12Welcome to another. This says it's a special. Is this a special or is this just? It feels special. Okay, sorry. It's not a special. It's just special. Something that is special to us. Welcome to the Shearlucks SL Man podcast. I'm joined by Harvey, Polly and Adam. Hey everyone. Hi. We've agreed it's a strong crew. Yeah, I think so. Well, let's see how it goes. But yeah, I think so. That's a strong crew. Just a reminder, if you are listening to our podcast, that if you want to see what we are wearing today, then head over to YouTube or Spotify where you can watch the podcast and see for yourself.
2:47Let's start with what we're wearing. Harvey, lots of admiration for your trousers. They're really cool. I know. We actually, in the SL Man pod, were sort of raving about this new collaboration. Yeah, collection with ASOS and Adidas Originals. And I got sent them. They're coming out this week, so they're not even out yet. Oh, no. I didn't go full tracksuit, just the bottoms. Have you got the full tracksuit? I just thought it was a bit too bold. Is it like a shell suit situation? Yeah. Like a zip up? That's quite bold. I might try it one day. We'll see. You were not afraid to embrace the entire head to toe look.
3:23I've got a tracksuit that I wore to the office full set last week. It's so good though. Like the whole collection. I think, is this the first time they've done men's in the Ace of Sadidas? It could be. Yeah, you're right. It's all very good. So what one do you go for? I don't know if you saw it. It was like the kind of creamy Czech set with the kind of balloony pants and a shoulder pad jacket. Yeah, I really love it. It's so comfortable. It's very cool. Anyway, enough about me. Great trousers. Great trousers, aren't you? That's a good, mate. I've got a double logo. Adidas and then the Lacoste polo on top.
4:01This is like a linen cotton, so it's quite light. But breezy. Breezy. What do you think are the rules around wearing double logo? I've just broken them all. Yeah, if there are any. Out the window. Yeah, Charlotte did say on the way out, she's like, oh, you're doing double logo there. No, it didn't. That's a gag, isn't it? To me, Clint, that's made up. Yeah, my fiancé. Your fiancé. I should specify. I didn't care to say that at all. You were there. That's made up. Okay. I need, like, a separate word. Yes. I was like, we love it. My fiancé. Straight out of the gate. All right, Harvey. We forget you have a Charlotte at home.
4:35Yeah. Okay, right, but you chose to defy her regardless. Yeah. Just thought, fuck it. I think it's fine. I think you've just about got away with it. Yeah. You put off, wait. Just about. Wow. I think you're slaying. and down down below what's down below okay my boxers I don't know Russell and Bromley loafers which I just sort of wear all the time yeah they're good ones yeah nice socks as well yeah wear the socks from Uniqlo so best socks in the game Uniqlo is that right yeah Uniqlo I mean I'm intrigued to know you're both still wearing socks even though it's really warm out at what point do you ditch socks can't do that you never would I couldn't go bare feet in a trainer yeah I think or a shoe The fashion world at the moment is telling me I can't wear no socks.
5:19Okay. Would you wear, have you got any man sandals that you like wearing? Mandals. Mandals. Mandals. I do, but I haven't plucked up the courage to wear them in the office. I get that. There's something different about men having their feet out at work. That's one of my... Do you agree? Sorry, am I ruining your chat? Don't. Sorry. Especially when you hear comments like that, you're like, shit, no. Yeah, sorry. Sorry, I'm compounding the fear. You also wouldn't? No. No. I just don't really like get my feet out in general. There's nothing wrong with them. Just, I sound really defensive now. Yeah, sure.
5:50I believe you. I promise. Do you know what I've heard? That actually the weirder your feet are, the more money you can charge on OnlyFans. Really? So you'd make no money because you've got lovely feet. Correct. I know that the color of them right now is controversial, but just let it be known that otherwise they are very pretty. I wish those cameras could pan down. Listen, the fake tan is, it really sticks to your feet. You wouldn't understand, okay? It clicks to your feet. What's the labor time that goes into fake tanning your feet? No, no, nothing. This is when you have a spray tan. Dip them in.
6:17That would be so clever. But then actually you'd have a really orange sun. This is because often when you have a spray tan, the tan sort of drifts down. You know, it all just like falls. So your feet can be particularly clogged with them. I will see you in a second. Is that gravity? They're very pretty. You know gravity. Yeah, yeah. That old force. It's that thing. Yeah, exactly. That'll do it. Classic. Polly, what are you wearing? I'm wearing a leather jacket from Juicy. a row frame shirt which I got like pre-loved but like brand new with tags on curate and rotate for like half the price because I tried this one in Harvey Nichols when I did that thing with Rabia like ages ago and I was like I can't justify it full price but anyway well done feels like fate some sort of capri yoga pants which are actually gym leggings because your girl needs an elastic kid of waist at the moment and some shoes from ASOS nice Adam what are you wearing?
7:11I am wearing This is a shirt from Zara. These are trousers from Uniqlo Women's, which I wear all the time. They're just a great shape. Nice high rise. I don't know about you, but I find like a lot of men's trousers and jeans in particular, you can't really find a good rise on it. And they just kind of sit at a very awkward space, especially imagine for you, like taller lads. Where do you want your trousers to sit on your body? Like just at your waist. Just right under the nipple. Like right, like just above the hips. I've got quite high hips. So I always find it quite tricky, but yeah, long, like sort of like a 13 inch rise.
7:47Okay, specifically. Yeah, I mean, you can get quite geeky with these things, but it's, I'd say, yeah, that's a good thing. And you find women's? You like, sorry. Yeah, they do come up, like the seat is a little bit high. But these are good, just buy them in an XL and they're good. Okay, that's a good tip. And then some Sperry top siders, the socks from Unico again, the best in the game. and a running hat. Very nice. Charles is a Zara. They're a little bit creased. I'm wearing a shirt backwards. She's crazy. I thought you might have been. I didn't notice it. I fear that the lack of comments is good that either people don't notice or that people are like, that's weird, she's in a straight jacket.
8:30It actually looks like it should be worn that way. Thank you so much. Where did you get this idea from? TikTok. Oh, right, okay. And I was just bored. So I've just, I literally just did up the buttons. And then pop the collar. It just looks like a really cool blouse. Yeah, I think so too. It's a bit straightjackety, but I'm going with it. It's really cool. Yeah, thanks. And I like how it's, it's one of those things that I saw on TikTok and thought, nah. And then put it on, and I was like, oh, that kind of works. So I think it's Zara. It feels a bit more like, well, I wouldn't say evening, but it definitely has more of a less casual feel to it.
9:02It makes it a top rather than, and actually I saw somebody do something really cool where she almost like, I'm not going to be able to do this justice, but she sort of tucked that under and then tied it around. Anyway, you can get really snazzy with shirts. It's got a lot of personality now. Thank you so much. It's got, you know, flamboyance and flair. Another thing you can do, I think it was the same girl, took two shirts and she buttoned, imagine doing the buttons in the holes of the other shirt. Yes. So you make it like a really big one and then you can kind of wrap it around your whole body like a dress.
9:27I think I've seen that too. I'm gonna have to show you. My mind's just been blown. Double the washing. That's insane. Double the washing. That's not the first thing it's been.
9:40Turn it up. Storm has zero sugar and 200 milligrams of caffeine. So you can turn that workout up a notch. Good energy in, good energy out. Energy for life. What if I told you you only have 12 hours to legally have sex? To finding true love. Or just like a good guy. From the director of EZA and anyone but you. This whole thing is nuts. There's nothing traditional about this night. On August 7th, the clock starts on the summer's biggest rom-com. I'm Owen. Ally. What about me and me? Monica Barbaro. Callum Turner. I've been told I'm a seven. By who? Your mom? No. She thinks I'm a ten. One Night Only.
10:21Rated R. Only in theaters August 7th.
10:27Let's move on to things we love. Boys, let's start with you. The best season five. Is the best still happening? I know. I know. No, I kind of thought that. I actually didn't know it was released. And then I watched it and it's just one of them. They're easy episodes to digest, aren't they? Because only like sort of 20, well, some are a lot shorter. But quite high octane. I think what made the first season really successful, it kind of got lost in maybe like three and four. And I guess it became a little bit, one of the complaints I saw was that it just got a bit too pretentious and a bit too kind of in itself, a bit too self-indulgent.
11:02But I think this one's a bit of a return to form. Feels like the first season. And kind of wraps things off really nicely. I don't think there's any spoilers away, but. What's the fashion like? Is it still good? Yeah, I mean, it's Jeremy Allen White. He just looks great and everything. I mean, he's literally reinvented the t-shirt. Yeah, my husband did just get his hands on that. I don't know why it's taking him so long, but like finally on the t-shirt. What is the name of that brand? Mursby Schreinan. Schreinan. Schreinan. But they are like all of those kind of old school ringspun. So they're made on that rings, what they call it?
11:34No, loop wheel. Loop wheel, yeah. So there's no seams here. Oh, cool. And it's kind of like, I guess like if you're the menswear heads of the world, we'll be like, they're the only t-shirts you can buy because they're of superior quality. Got it. But they do come probably, I'd say a size smaller than you expect. All right. So if you want to wear something a bit flowy, it's not the one. Have you gone? No. Oh, okay. You're not a real one. Well, I feel like you want different t-shirts for different things, right? So it is a really, ostensibly it is a really good white t-shirt, but you know, sometimes you might want something that's skinnier because you're wearing baggy trousers or something more, whatever.
12:09It's all about the proportions. Exactly. The best t-shirts are actually still Fruit of the Loom, I think. Can you still buy Fruit of the Loom? Yeah. Their sweatshirts were the best. They were. That shape, excellent. They go for quite a lot of money, like secondhand now. Really? Like the old, like 90s version of them, because obviously the new ones, I guess, like the quality's not as good, but those 90s ones still go for quite a lot of money online. I wonder if the young girls know what Fruit of the Loom is in the office. That's a good one. I doubt it. I doubt it. I doubt it. Lola, not Charles.
12:38Okay, so the Bear Seasons fight. Is this the end of the Bear? It's the end, yeah, and it ends, it like ends, has an ending. It wraps it up. There's no like kind of, it's coming back. Well, we thought that with Ted Lasso, and yet, here they go again. Yeah, I'm surprised it's come back. It upsets me. Have you guys watched it? No. It's a lovely show, but they very much ended it, and then they didn't even wait like 15 years or something. They were like, literally a year later, they were like, surprise season four. I'm sorry you can't do that. I agree. It should have ended. Like it should have stayed ended.
13:05It was such a perfect ending. And also even that last season got very kind of sickly sweet and it was all like it was very much like it was closing a door. Does it sort of like erode our trust in anything? We're just like yeah a bit. Yeah it makes you feel like they're just doing it again to make more money. Yeah. Makes you cynical. Agreed. Okay that's the bad. Polly what about you? What are you loving? Well I know we talked about it on the pod already but binge watch all of the Katie Price doc over the weekend and just, God, I loved it. It made me feel a lot more sorry for her than I was expecting.
13:36Have you seen it? No, no, I really need to watch it, but I'm not surprised. I've seen it. Oh, yeah. And my main thought was, I cannot believe what life was like at that point. And what we were consuming. And it's just, it's crazy that, you think about it now, it's almost just like it would never happen. It's so weird that it really wasn't that long ago, but how different it was and how the tabloids dominated the narrative and you can really construct an opinion of yourself or like the public opinion based on like, you know. She had all the power didn't they? Yeah. So I don't agree that it doesn't happen now.
14:15I just think that it's social media fandom that does that instead of the tabloids. Yeah, maybe. As we know, I'm very invested in the lives of the main guys from Peter's rivalry. And one of them, Hudson Williams, has had like mad, mad levels of, I don't even know what you call it, is it stalking? I don't know if you guys saw the video that went viral of him trying to get photographers in Paris to stop taking photos of him because they were effectively posing as fans but they're like autographed out. So they were fully stalking him and so this video went really viral. He completely loses his temper, he gets a lighter out, he tries to light the photos online.
14:51Oh, that's fake. No, no, no, that's real. And sorry, but autographed out, so just people who want to get his autographed to sell it. Okay, fine. But apparently basically on the fandom of this show, and I think that there's a lot of, this happens a lot with these shows that get this kind of real cult fandom on the internet. It can turn quite dark and there was a really racist slant to, he's half Asian and there's been a really racist angle apparently to like the kind of underbelly of this fandom. And he's had to up his security and there's death threats on his family. And it's just like, I think that's the modern version of what the tabloids used to do.
15:24Yeah, I don't know what was better or worse. Maybe they're just as bad as each other. Would you rather be a celebrity back in the early noughties or now? I'm not really sure. I think almost maybe back then might have been slightly better because at least with no socials, people don't have direct access to you to kind of contact you. I guess you have your own voice now, though. You can hit back in your own ways now. Yeah, I think that's the difference. It's just like the narrative is purely from the journalists that were writing in the newspapers at that point. And it changed public perception of people just on that.
15:58I thought that. Did you guys all watch the Beckham doc on Netflix, whatever it was, a couple of years ago? And, you know, again, the press scrutiny when they moved to Madrid. I think whenever people talk about famous people and talk about kind of decisions they've made or kind of the morality of their lives, you always have to remember that they're living such a different reality to us. And I don't know, it's just it's so incomparable. Yeah, I know. So worth a watch? Definitely. Javi, things you're loving? I had a sort of wild weekend. I just, I sort of ended up, I went to the Four Seasons on Friday.
16:30Oh, wild. Which one? The one in Tower Bridge. And I can't not, I just really don't like martinis. Oh, okay. Strong opinion, I know. But I had my first martini there that was actually really good. CC Gimlet with curry leaves fermented chilli so it was like not a traditional martini I was just about to say that, sounds like a very dress-up martini if you don't like martinis, try this martini that was lovely and then when was it Sunday I went to SailGP I don't know if you've heard much about it's like the F1 of sailing so they travel around the world racing in a different kind of city and it was Southampton yesterday and it's really cool actually because they have this like beach club type bar thing that you're watching it from so it's like really good vibes I think the Folly Deuce does like the entertainment stuff so it's a bit like a bit of a vibe and you're watching these like huge yachts just like flying at like 80 kilometers an hour like splashing water and like going straight past you but how do you watch them?
17:44Like surely they have to go really far? well the course is set out so it's like the start finish is like the finish is basically right in front of you right um and the start's a little bit further away but they have like it's quite a small circuit they kind of have to go up and then around these little blocks and then come back and to be fair you can see the whole thing f1 as well you go and you're like you don't see anything you're much better on watching on tv if you want to actually see it it is quite it does make me quite sad when i'm at the f1 and i'm just like i actually need to go and watch the screen to know know what's going on.
18:14What are the crowds like? It was good actually. I was surprised. Can anyone go? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it was better vibes than I thought it would be. I think just because of the nature of it, that you can kind of tap in when you want to, but also there's like a really nice bar and seating areas. It's like, it's not intense at all. What are you doing all day when you're not, when the boats aren't there? Just getting pissed. Okay, very nice. What do you think? Like, yeah, what are you saying? I don't know, but I don't know. That's why the F1 is just like, you see it for like two seconds, it's like, what do you do for the, right?
18:48That's it, what do you do now? Yeah. Yeah. Well, and food. Like, the food was absolutely crazy. Sounds more like my cup of tea. It's a dining experience with some sailing going on in the background. There's, I don't know if you guys are aware that the Commonwealth Games are going on right now. And there's been quite a lot, or last week, there was quite a lot of discourse around the fact that it's happening and like, does anyone care and isn't it so, like, you know, I think the last time that there was one, they sold two million tickets. This time there's only been half a million. They only put out half a million.
19:15But I feel like it's doing the athletes a real disservice to talk about whether it's still kind of worth doing in inverted commas. Whether it draws the same attention as a World Cup or the Olympics is a different conversation. But it doesn't mean that the accolade for the competitors is any less significant. But it is a good conversation to be like, are people actually interested? or have we just reached sort of sports fatigue at this point? I know, I think that. It's because bad timing, isn't it? It could be bad timing. Would you watch athletics ever? Yeah. Yeah, when it's hard. I love it. I just don't know if the Commonwealth Games, for me, holds the same weight as like the Olympics or even like the European Championships.
19:59Probably for most people. Yeah. The only way I experience it now, and this is quite bad, but maybe telling of where we are, but it's through social media clips. That's the only reason I know it's on. And I know that there was some sort of controversial comments from one of the swimmers that kind of went viral. So that's the only way that I... Was that Adam Peaty? Yeah. Or Adam Ramsey Peaty as he's now on. Yeah, exactly. Is he? Have they double-barred their surnames? Yeah. I mean, you would, wouldn't you? You're out of Ramsey. Yeah. Absolutely. He just knows how to lift his stock. He was crying about the fact that he put a bronze and he felt like he deserved better or more.
20:38Exactly. Became third though, right? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He was like, for the amount of... But yeah, like, it's like, come third and then be like, ah, should have got a silver. Yeah, it's not like somebody, it's not like subjective. Like, yeah, you either win or you don't. Yeah, that was the thing. He was like, I worked too hard to just get a bronze. It's like, well, you didn't clearly... That was his comment. Like, that's just how sport works, unfortunately. And he did say that, but also... Yes, but I guess he's just... I think that's okay. I think it's impossible to say. He's just disappointed.
21:09Yeah. As long as you're not blaming somebody else. Yeah, that's kind of how I thought that he meant that. It's like he's come third and disappointed that he got a bronze medal. I guess because he didn't have a great Olympics, did he? Because he was unwell and maybe he just feels like, okay, that's the next thing to work towards and then to get the gold still. But we don't know what goes into it, do we? there must be so much that gets put into training for these events yeah it's a bit like last year at Wimbledon was it in Austria I think it was in the Australian Open can't remember anyway but Sabalenka lost to Coco Gauff and do you remember this in the press conference afterwards the comments were not gracious she was very like you know I'm better than that I'm better than that like I should have won like it's unfair it didn't go down well it comes across as bad sportsmanship I love that it's funny though but that is actually the mentality of sports of course it should it has to be it has to be yeah Yes, you can't just admit defeat because then you would never be at that level.
22:04I don't think that the social media thing is a bad thing because my engagement in the World Cup probably would have been, I mean, I can't say it was massively high, but would have been lower were it not for the social media vibes around it. And Harlan's post-World Cup social stream, which is chronically online. It's extraordinary. Can we talk about The Odyssey? Yeah. As my things we love. Has everyone seen it? I've seen it, yeah. Everyone's seen it. Okay. I'm gonna go in straight away with my number one feeling, which is that so much has been made of the kind of auteur-ness of the whole thing and how Christopher Nolan made this film without using CGI and it's got these incredible set pieces and obviously it's got this very, very starry cast.
22:49And for me, all of those things completely took me out of the film. So I was watching it thinking, oh, I can't believe Matt Damon was stuck in that horse or wow, they all got so wet or that must've been so tiring. rather than just taking the film for what it was. All I could think about was Matt Damon going through all of those strenuous things. That's my problem with it. Yeah, I mean, I've had that problem with quite a few things. Different to whether or not you enjoyed the film, but it definitely, like, Timothee Chalamet's been doing that to me a lot recently. I get that. Anything I see him in, I'm just like, it's just Timothee Chalamet.

23:24And also, it's controversial, but DiCaprio's getting there for me. Yeah. Like, I see him in anything, I'm just like, That's just, you know, the guy from Wolf of Wall Street. Do you think they're all too famous now? Maybe, yeah. Or is there a lack of like... No, it's not a lack, is there? Maybe there's too much fourth wall breaking. So going back to the social conversation, we're seeing Timmy like front row of the Knicks. Yeah, I think it's that. It's too much. We know them too well. Yeah. I do like to not really know anything about a film before I go and watch it. Just know that if certain people like it or it's kind of, you know, that it's generally raved about and you know that it'll be a good, not a risky watch.
24:04That makes me sound so boring, doesn't it? No, I completely agree. Someone else likes it. Is there a risk analysis before going to the cinema? It's a really risky business. Okay, so what were your thoughts? It was really good. The only bit, I mean, this is quite a classic criticism, but the kind of way the fight at the end was so, So just like, that's what breaks the fourth wall for me. So choreographed. Yeah, it's like, it just wouldn't happen. I'd want a bit more realism. It was like a dance really, wasn't it? Yeah, there was no - I didn't really get that. It was like the amount of people that he killed in a space of like - Okay, you know, that actually did occur to me.
24:44I know, but Harvey, at that point, we've had like cyclopses and like - Yeah, I know. There's quite a lot of - That's the thing that annoyed me, weirdly. And that's so unrealistic. The cyclopses, legit. Yeah, because you're like, that's part of that world. Yeah, that's true. But he's still a man. He's not, he's not. Is he godlike? Superhuman. No. No, he's just got the gods on his side. Right. Okay, so there's a sort of. I did think, God, it's like, they're all rubbish and he's really good. But I did also think, oh, they're playing. It's kind of hot that you can just absolutely annihilate all these people.
25:13For a bit of context, this is at the end of the film. I don't think it's a spoiler on a 2 ,000-year-old text to say that Matt Damon kind of re-emerges into Ithaca where he's been trying to get back for 20 years and a battle ensues between him and lots of men. That is the context, yes. Also, we've got to talk about Tom Holland. And I'm sorry, the man can't act. Like, come on now. He's so sweet. The whole, he's so sweet. I like him so much. But you know that meme from Harry Potter where he says, not me, not Hermione, you. That was the whole film. Literally, that was the whole movie. I haven't seen much else with him in it.
25:48Is that his general kind of acting style? or was it for that character that he was creating? I was saying to you that I couldn't tell whether I found him annoying, as in Tom Holland, or whether I just found his character really irritating and pathetic. I think maybe it was a mix of the two, because he, in comparison, could not fight at all. He doesn't kill anyone, does he? He's really trying, but he's just a bit like... But that's okay, that's the character. That is the character, but then... Well, you said you didn't love his American accent. No, I just don't. He's just, I know he does it in Spider-Man.
26:21He's a decent Spider-Man, but I think it's such a different, like. Spider-Man is a bit of a nerd, isn't he? Yeah. Yeah, fair. Like Peter Parker. I did watch him in that. There was an Apple TV show that he made, which I can't remember the name of. Oh, Crowded Room? Yes. He was really good in that. He was really good in that. So maybe he should just stick to, maybe he needs to be better challenged and just not play sort of boy. That's a good point. Because that was quite a heavy show. Yeah, that's a good point. He was really good in that. Yeah, he was. What were your views of the Odyssey? I mean, I loved it.
26:51I think like, I agree with you on the actor thing and taking you out. Not quite as much as when, do you remember when Ed Sheeran was in Game of Thrones? Oh my God. Oh my God. That's, yes. Talking about taking you out of the show. So I do agree with that point. But I just, I think as a kind of, the world of what Nolan created and just an enjoyable watch, it was, I thought it was great. And I guess like, I also do find it quite refreshing that a lot of it's done in camera and not CGI. Because I think, I mean, there's a huge thing with CGI now, isn't it? It's like got worse than it was like 20 years ago.
27:25Yeah, they're too realistic. I saw a thing comparing like the original, it would compare to Cat from the original Toy Story to Toy Story Now. And it's like, now it's almost, the realism's too strong. Like you don't need to just watch a fake. It's like all these, you know, the Disney films that they're making and the live action. It's like, you're just, you're not changing anything. You're not doing anything. And almost the beauty of watching CGI The guy was the kind of cartoon, that's obviously for a cartoon, but was the same nature of it. Stylized element of it. Exactly. Probably not his best film.
27:54What's his best film? I think Interstellar. Okay, yeah. It's unreal. Just one of the best films of all time.
28:03Let's move on. Fashion finds. What's everybody got their eye on? So we're writing a piece, we, I'm writing a piece at the moment. Yeah, own it. On SL Man of kind of like summer sneakers, summer trainers. so that's been my world at the moment there was a I think it's from Lacoste called Lacoste Aura and some plimsolls from I think it's Morjas which is a Spanish brand they've got this kind of like fanned tongue so it's like kind of got a kind of texture to it so it's a plimsoll normally but then it has this kind of interesting detail what like the Adidas superstars have? no no no it's just like a tongue that's kind of crumpled a little bit but it looks quite elegant um like a pleat yeah that's actually what i'm trying to explain oh okay yeah like the la mer meals yes exactly yeah yeah so then next low profile oh yeah next so this is like a recreation of the classic low profile sneakers that i've been doing the rounds recently but this looks like a really really good version really sleek so if you're looking something a little bit more affordable in that kind of nice summer lightweight style.
29:14That's a good one. I think that dark trainers are quite hard to know how to style. So are the Lacoste ones, they're dark brown. They look dark brown. How are you wearing them to make them look cool? I hadn't really thought about that. Okay, well. I would go with, you know, keep the outfit darker. So like maybe dark brown trousers and just kind of keep it in that world. Color block it. Yeah. Okay, nice. Adam, what are you wearing? We'll do the boys first. Well, I have had my eye on a pair of sandals. Because this is what we were talking about. Yes. So these are like Huarachi sandals that are, they're hard to explain.
29:51They're a classic Huarachi, but they are, they're from Chamula. And - What's the words I don't understand? They're kind of, I know. What is this language you're speaking? What? So the brand is called Chamula. And they're Huarachi sandal. but they're basically like a sandal that covers your foot. So like the materials like woven instead of like a strappy sandal because I just can't even in the hottest of summer days get on board with the idea of getting my feet out. So what do you wear on holiday currently? Like to the beach, I'd probably just take like a pair of, no I would get my feet out of the beach obviously.
30:29But that's like, it's a natural environment to do it. I feel like London is quite a hard place to have your feet out in general, for me anyway. Like, because it's dangerous? No. Like, because you stubbed your toe or something? No, I just feel a little bit exposed. You should play with fire every day. I feel a little bit exposed. Maybe I haven't done it enough. Maybe we don't get to do it enough because we don't really have summers like we've been having. So I'm just not used to it. No, I really, like, appreciate a man who respects that not everybody wants to see men's feet. Yeah, and that too, yeah.
30:59You have to look after your feet as a man, I think, if you're going to get them out. And so many men don't. Do you feel you get dirty in the day if you're wearing sandals? Yes, they actually do. I don't really have a problem with that. Once or twice that I've worn closed shoes in the past three months, I've just died of heat. It is so much airier to be able to have them. I wouldn't even think twice about seeing women's feet out. That's because women have pedicures. Yeah, and they're much better looking, the feet. Yeah, I just think women's feet are generally prettier, whereas men's are a bit wider.
31:27Longer and elegant, mostly. Yeah, exactly. Yes. I suppose you've got quite long feet, though. Maybe yours is nice. Are yours long and elegant? or? I think they're alright. Back them. Do you get your feet out on the weekend? I've got nine and a half sized feet so for a tall guy that's actually not that big. So it might look quite elegant actually. It might. Maybe I do have elegant feet. Maybe. Do you get your feet out on the weekend? I'll let my hair down and get my feet out. I treat myself to a little bit of exposure. Yeah. Yeah. And on holiday I would probably I only wear sandals. What kind of sandals though?
32:06I like a nice elegant leather black. Quite chic. Would you wear a flip-flop? Yeah, I would. Because of this season, how trendy they are. I'd get into it. This is my two pence worth. I think if you're a man, you're going to have your feet out, you just need to be wearing a trouser. So don't do shorts with an exposed foot. Oh, yeah, no. One or the other. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. I kind of like it. if like if man's got like good legs, they wear like quite a short pair of like sporty nylon shorts with a pair of flip flops, I think that's kind of a vibe. I agree with that, that's just a very specific look.
32:38Yeah, if they're shorty shorts. That's so much skin from shorts to feet. You've got the smallest feet, smallest thing you can put on your feet and the smallest thing you can put on your legs. Maybe I'm a pervert. Maybe you can just like legs. I'd be walking around feeling quite exposed. The idea of having your feet out as feeling exposing though is funny to me. Like I don't think I'd be like, oh my feet are out. Yeah, I know. Yeah, it's quite a head award. It is. Yes, it is. I tried. I'm cool. You can't get on boards. That's fair. You've also got P. Johnson here. Yeah, P. Johnson's. P. Johnson are an Australian, kind of primarily tailoring brand.
33:14They opened a store in Burlington Street last year, but I just think Sabal Rowan around that area, I guess have lots of heritage tailoring brands around there. And I guess the idea is it can feel a little bit intimidating and stuffy. They are kind of a very sort of attainable, what word am I looking for? Not a tailable. Approachable. Approachable approach to tailoring. Tailoring is expensive, right? So as an entry point to the brand, they do these exclusive hats and t-shirt drops every like two or three months. And they go like that. Like if you're not buying them within the first 10 seconds, they are gone.
33:44And it's quite a nice, like they've kind of developed a bit of a cult status from those things. And I just think they're really cool. They're almost like bringing back the kind of Armani fit from the nineties that feels like flowy. And because they're from Australia, They're using fabrics a little bit more lightweight. So they drape better, but they're just a really cool brand. For women listening, is it a good brand to know to send men to for work, for weddings, or is it a bit more sort of lifestyle? Definitely weddings, for sure. I got my wedding suit from there. And the experience in store is really great.
34:15Like I say, it's not intimidating and they give you as many appointments as you need to kind of get the fit right. It's nice and drapey. They kind of come from the idea of like what tailoring should be and how it should fit as opposed to like, you know, somebody going in there and like choosing what they want from a made to measure shoot. So they're very much like, then they know what they're talking about. And you know, if you listen to them, I guess you can kind of come away with something that you didn't expect because tailoring is quite hard for guys. I think at times, if you're not doing it regularly or if you don't know what you're looking for, it's like, where do I go?
34:48Yeah. It's a weird thing that you have to sort of duck into like sometimes in your life that you don't otherwise. exactly. My husband has had quite a few pieces made at suit supply. which is obviously like more affordable, a bit more mass, but like in terms of the product that you get, if you don't wanna go like super high street, but you also don't wanna go, you know, you're not getting something special made, this is just for work, or you've got a couple of weddings and like honestly recommend so highly. I think they've really come along in the last few years. And it's never gonna be the luxurious experience that it is going to like a really bespoke tailor, but they do everything bespoke.
35:17He's had shirts made from scratch, lasers, suit, the whole lot. And yeah, they've nailed that section of the market that know what they're looking for, want something custom. It's really custom, isn't it? But don't want to pay Savile Row prices. I feel like I've noticed a real trend in non-fashion guys wearing colour suits this season, wearing sages or, you know, like a nice kind of taupe-y colour. I think that there's a... Men kind of as a mass seem to be a bit bolder in terms of embracing not just navy. Yeah, which is nice. Which is nice. There's a guy on socials, I can't remember his name, but he has been doing videos on like just educating men on how to wear suits that are not just like your bog standard you might have seen it he's like you don't have to wear like matching top and bottom you can do like a chino or like just a different colour and I've sent them to my husband because I mean I don't even know the rules around men's tailoring but it's kind of fascinating I feel like I should have made a note of what his handle is but I'm sure you can find it well stick it on the screen I'll find it and we'll stick it on the screen Polly fashion finds What are you loving right now?
36:23Well, I was going to talk about the ASOS collab, and then we've already talked about that. But I was going to shout out a pair of Deji Studio shorts, which are a kind of longer Bermuda style, but they're like a cotton material and a kind of pin-tuck pleat. Obviously, Bermuda shorts are not anything new, but I think the next evolution is going for a slightly more femme material style or whatever. I've seen some lacy trim ones because I think by nature, that sort of style is quite mask, which I love, but it's quite nice this time of year to make it a little bit more floaty and fun. And these particular ones are elasticated, which is very important for me in my condition.
37:01In your situation. How are you styling long Bermudas, feminine or not? I think it's the shoe that's the important bit for me. So I think I would go for a slimline sandal or a little ballet flat. Just nothing too chunky on the bottom, I think is what is the balance. I think top you can be a little bit more experimental, but I guess like with it being a slightly more masculine short, a feminine top is quite nice or something slim. Or a backwards shirt. Or a backwards shirt. Stranger things have happened. I bought knitwear this weekend. Whoa, okay. I bought two jumpers. Summer knitwear or? No, no.
37:41Oh no, I bought cashwear. She's ready, I'm ready. No, I bought, it was the end of the MyTeresus, I mean the sale, the summer sales are coming to an end and so bought two totem jumpers. I bought a proper chunky roll neck and a proper chunky cardigan, which I'm quite excited about. Because now's the time. I've been having that urge, that excitement for autumn dressing again. It's quite exciting. And then Elaine just poked her head over our desk and she was like, Coz has got some really good knitwear. You know, actually, I did, when I was scrolling Coz the other day, see a really chunky, gorgeous, I think it was just their bog sanders.
38:09Was it the gray one? The cashmere gray one. I was just like, that's the first time so far this summer, I feel like, ooh, I'm excited. I'm quite excited. It's July though, guys. It's too early. No, I know, we've got ages. Yeah. But I said this a couple of weeks ago and I maintain it that like, don't buy any more summer stuff now. No, I don't think. Yeah, that's true. Like there's four weeks left and then there's gonna be like seven months of winter, you know. Yeah. Although sometimes September like surprises you, doesn't it? That's true. I love that really short period of time, sort of spring and autumn where it's like shorts and a sweatshirt.
38:38Best. I feel like we get about three days of that in September, don't we? It goes from really hot to really shit. Well, I don't know. Three days. Like I've always found my birthday, it's running out of October. Yeah. Noted. If you want to get any presents. Yeah, that feels like the beginning of November, basically. It's like, that's when it shit. It's actually quite good in like September or October. Yeah, you're right. That's the best. It's like cooling down a bit, but you can still have warm days and it's quite sunny. Around Halloween, it's pretty grim, isn't it? Yeah, but October is the best.
39:09That's why I love October. Because you can wear knitwear. It's not hot. It's not t-shirt weather. But it's just like you've got that crunch and you can go back to coffee in the mornings. I've got like, oh, it's not as depressing as like. Pumpkin spice latte. Pumpkin spice latte, get your rugs out. Best time of year. The other thing actually just on shopping that I wanted to call out was the Pandora Harry Lambert collection. Oh my God, it's so good. It's so good. This is late. It dropped a couple of weeks ago, but I just wanted to give it some love because it is genuinely so cool. So Pandora have started a series of collabing with big stylist Harry Lambert.
39:39People will know as Harry Styles' stylist. He did a collab with Zara last year. So he's very well known. And Pandora have done the cleverest thing over the past couple of years where they have really straddled their classic identity, what people know and love them for, you know, the charm bracelets. That's a huge percentage of their business. They haven't kind of neglected that side of things. They've also really shown up in the fashion space. And, you know, they've been a big they've been the jewellery sponsor of London Fashion Week for the past couple of years. And they have been a big sponsor of the Fashion Awards.
40:05And, you know, they're really kind of working hard in that space, too. Also, their jewellery innovation has been amazing. They have worked really hard on the Lab Diamond front. And they're basically just doing it all. And this collab is genuinely so cool. He's basically taken pearls, like freshwater pearls. So they've got that really kind of cool molten shape and turned them into little baby animal charms. So there's the XL ones have sold out, which is really sad, but they might be able to get them on store. They're just sold out. They dropped exclusively at Dover Street Market and then also on Pandora.
40:34By the way, this isn't an ad. I just genuinely am really sold on these pieces. The chunky ones, there's a big frog and the frog like hangs down from your necklace with his little gold hands. but the small collection has got a little octopus and a little mouse and it's all just all made out of piles and it's all really sweet and dainty and really cool. They're cute. They're a bit of fun. They're really cute and they're really fun. Yeah. I really feel like, you know, if you'll pardon the pun, everything he touches turns to gold. He's so talented. He's just got such a cool eye. I sat next to him at an eBay thing maybe like a year and a half ago and he was also really nice.
41:07Aw. Which is so, I don't want to say it, but like quite unusual sometimes He just sits next to these big dogs at fashion events and he just was really kind and gave me the time of day. I had a lovely chat with him. I actually went to Paris with him for the launch of this collection and went to the, like work slash fashion parties are not always fun and actually often not. They threw like an actually good party. Which is quite rare. People danced, like really danced. That is unusual.
41:36Celeb slash sports slash culture moment. That's a snappy title for the next section. Harvey let's talk talk to us about this word that we don't know how to pronounce right I feel like we need a token Gen Z to talk about this don't we Egyo Egyo yeah so it's it's this kind of K-pop inspired kind of phenomenon I suppose but Egyo is like technically the kind of puff under your eye that when you it's kind of like quite a cute thing if you have that that's like I just wake up your natural Egyo Yeah, your natural egg yo. Oh, adorable. Yeah, yeah, oh, how cute. So it's now been kind of put into celebrity context now.
42:18So people are being described as like developing their natural egg yo. And kind of, I guess it's a bit like aura farming, isn't it? Or no. Are they saying it's like about them being really authentic? Yeah, yeah, that's it. Approachable type people. Yeah, their authentic self in situations you wouldn't expect them to be like really cute and charming. end up being that. Got it. So it's nothing to do, so it's not about people developing. No, that's where it's come from. I see, I see, I see. And I've been seeing kind of like Jude Bellingham being put into this kind of world, but quite a few other people as well.
42:53So all of those like montages that I get served with Jude Bellingham, just like doing really sweet things with kids and stuff. That's his natural eggy. 100%. Got it. Yeah. Which I just, I find it quite weird actually. Oh, why? it's so cute it's so great so weird this is maybe a strange take but it doesn't really represent that person in their entirety and I know celebrity culture isn't going to be the most complex version of what that person is they're going to take tropes and build it but you know Bellingham is like a complicated person quite a strong character he's a leader I guess they're trying to show that he has this other sweet side to him.
43:41I did see a lot of videos with him chatting to kids. Everyone else ignored this person and then he would go and talk to him. The Venezuelan interviewer, yeah. He speaks Spanish, doesn't he? That's true. Which is so hot, I didn't realise it. And then I saw a video of him and he was just... Yeah. Well, he's hot. That isn't unrelated to somebody, but yes. It's hot and he speaks Spanish, yes. He's objectifying Jude Beningham. I didn't see it before, but as soon as I hadn't spoken Spanish. Yeah, like, you know. He's asked to it, doesn't he? He's also been called out in the past for, like, making the gestures when he scored and doing it banned in the Euros for a game.
44:18Oh, really? So he's like, he necessarily has to be arrogant because he's so confident and is a leader. But, you know, people are complex. Well, it's that authenticity thing again, isn't it? Like, and I think what is refreshing about him, especially watching his interviews after the games at the World Cup and Thomas Tuchel is like, there's an honesty there that hasn't been present in footballers, especially for a long time. And I don't know, is that Eggeo? I have no idea. What do you think about what his comments after the match against Norway, where he kind of bit back at Tuchel? I mean, I think like neither of them, because there's this whole thing wasn't there about like, who was the reporter at fault?
45:00Like, I guess he's doing his job, but he did drop it on Bellingham after, you know a lot of hard work in the azteca stadium he's just somebody that's got a bit of of character and i think you need that in sports and football and it's a slightly related question who's the cutest celebrity related oh egg yo yeah okay yeah um who do you think like embodies that
45:27it probably is yeah i had a berry i think she's whenever i see her in interviews and She's just like really smiley and lovely. I think she seems like a good, nice. Is she in the back? Yeah. Olivia Rodrigo is quite cute. Sabrina. There's a difference between cutesy and cute though, isn't there? Yeah, not twee. Not twee. Do you think Tom Holland would still be the cutest if he was - Tall. A couple of feet taller. Probably not. It's probably his height. It's just like a little munchkin that you want to put in your pocket. So sweet. I think what you're describing Harvey is exactly what we were saying before, which is about like people projecting something onto somebody right so you're basically saying bellingham isn't this person yeah everybody's just decided he's cute and that's the online rhetoric that's what i'm saying yeah i think um i feel like that with harlan because i before the world cup i found him just like quite scary because he's quite an intimidating looking guy and now i'm like oh he's just this like little fairy prince who loves his best friend jude bellingham and he's just like so jokes and he's so online but again that's probably like not the whole now you've seen him ai as a as a girl yes and actually no he's got loads of like lookalike oh my god the girl the female lookalikes yeah Yeah, that's so funny.
46:33But he's another one, he's another one doing it, bringing authenticity into football. And it's like, what's good about it is that he can be so unserious. And I mean, that's another thing, it's just like, instead of being this serious, this interview and it's just all media train stuff, he's so unserious, doing what he wants to do. And he's also probably like top three best players in the world. Yeah, which is such good role modeling. Like it's so good to see that, but that you can be - A bit silly. A bit silly, yeah. That's why I've got no time for Sinner. Because like, no offense, obviously excellent player, but just like so boring, so boring, so unexciting.
47:10So it's quite, you want to back a personality when you're backing a sportsman and he doesn't have that. Who's the guy that is the personality in, is it Nick? Nick Kyrgios. Nick Kyrgios, yeah. He's a bit, I would say, a bit much. Provisive. Well, he's yeah. He's not necessarily like funny and silly. He's just like a bit rude sometimes. But like that's why Djokovic I think is just like in his prime now because he's the older he's Gotten that it's not that he's taking the tennis any less seriously But he has shown more and more of his personality and more and more jokes on the court and yeah I like him has developed more of a fandom
47:46Hot topic Adam what's something everyone pretends to enjoy? Yeah, I mean I don't really have any answers I just thought it was a good question to throw out there Yeah, good chat. Because we were talking about it earlier. I was just like, yeah, I'm putting that in. But it's good. It's like a good thing to like, camping. Yeah, I do pretend to enjoy it. Yeah, I think people are telling about that. Queen pick me sometimes. I am so, no I am. You've had to pretend to enjoy a lot of stuff. God, yeah, I pretended to enjoy so many things that my husband's into. Sailing, for example. It makes me feel deathly sick.
48:19It's just all the things that make me feel sick actually that he loves. Like flying small airplanes, that also makes me feel sick. I tried to enjoy that. Cycling, he took me to the Himalayas where it was really unpleasant. I had terrible altitude sickness, but I still went. Can I just go instead of you on all these trips? 100%. I keep saying to him, please just take a friend who would like to go. I think it's wasted on me. Yeah, I've pretended to enjoy so many things. Running, is that one? I know a lot of people love it. Okay, so with running, the point is you're not meant to enjoy it. It's not there to be enjoyed.
48:53No, people do enjoy running. No, no, no, it's inherently not a nice experience. No, no, no. Actually there are points like during it where I'm like, I'm in a bit of a flow state and I'm just like, yeah, I feel like a boss. I promise you Ben enjoys it while he's doing it. Yeah, he definitely enjoys it. He's not running hard enough. No, Javi. Honestly, he's fine. I actually can't say this about Javi. He's fine. I'd love to rinse him, but he actually is. He's like, no, like, I'm with, I agree, like exercise. Who the fuck actually enjoys exercise? But like, what does she do? I must have loads of these.
49:22I sometimes, I would say maybe I pretend to enjoy really big stadium shows because I think it's just too big. Like, getting out sucks because you've got to get out of the transport and there's too many bloody people. Can't really see, can't really hear that well. Sounds and quality's not always that great. I'm just going to put it out there. Yeah, you're right. Gigs. Depends who you're seeing though, doesn't it? Yeah, I know. You've got to love, if you love the artist. I saw Bad Bunny like a month ago and it was literally a religious experience. Like truly, truly top three things I've ever done, ever.
49:55Was it a one-off? He did two nights in London at Spurs Stadium. There are some moments where you just remember why live music. I love live music, but I just don't like the kind of like Wembley size. I've got one. Stadium. Going for a walk. I have actually zero interest ever in going for a walk. I don't enjoy anything about going for a walk. I hate standing up. I hate standing up. I literally hate standing up so much. I honestly would always rather just be sat down or lying down. I agree both. Pretending to enjoy standing up. Pretending to enjoy. People who are like, oh, I just love going for it.
50:28Or people who are like, I just needed to get out into nature. Like, I kind of relate to that in absolutely no way. I don't mind walking if there's some, like a destination. Correct. Like, if it walks for the sake of a walk, no, I'm not interested. I've learned to love it. My husband says, like, if we didn't have a dog, like, what would be the point of going for a walk? And I disagree with that, but he thinks that it's pointless. I would never leave my house if I didn't have a dog. My pardon, I go to work. Standing up is the worst. I do hate standing up so much. I was at a wedding yesterday and they did it in their garden, which was a really lovely thing to do, but the garden was like, there was a slope here and a flat bit here.
51:07So obviously they could only put chairs on the flat bit. So there was quite a few people out to stand. The wedding was lovely, but I just was like, I'd rather be sitting down. And also like, if you're not wearing shoes that are like the most comfortable, it's an unpleasant experience. Even just like I don't like standing next to someone's desk. I just don't want to have to stand up. I know that's not like a thing that people that you have to pretend to enjoy. Yeah. How are you going to get over that? What's the solution? Well, sit down more. Yeah, just more chair. Maybe I should carry a portable chair.
51:33Little fold away thing. Foldable chair. That's pretty cool. Yeah. Yeah. Imagine if I just walked around the office with a portable chair. Pitched up next to everybody's desk. Where would be the weirdest place to pitch it up? Like the tube. Would it? Yeah. Like waiting on a platform. That would be. in a foldable chair. That would be really weird. Yeah, I quite like that. You also said, do you say please to chat to EPT? I've stopped. I've stopped doing it because it's really, it's an extra layer that's bad for the environment. Yeah. I mean, yeah. I mean, I wasn't going down that angle, but. Sorry to bring the day down.
52:06But you have to, you can't be too polite to it because A, you need to train it and B, it is bad. But also, we discussed this and I said that I worry that in like an AI uprising, they might be like, You were polite, you weren't, you died. No, they wouldn't respect you. What do you mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've got to not say please. You've got to out for them. Okay. Yeah, yeah, that's true. You think they would be like, you're pathetic, you try to say please to me. Yeah, you're a weakling, you're immediately out. Oh God, okay, good to know. They're looking for strength, and we're just saying, please.
52:36Might, could you buy? Give me some recommendations for what to do with my living room. So ChatGPC has brought back my olive tree from the brink of death, which I won't bore you with, but somebody, a gardener came and killed my olive tree and now I've restored it thanks to ChatGPT. But I uploaded a photo this weekend to show it as progress and it replied saying, this is so amazing. It actually brought a smile to my face. And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no. Let's like. Sorry. I know. Let's go on a computer. Back up. You replied to it to show it the progress. That's quite cute. As in like, you thought it'd be invested in your.
53:08It's so invested. It is so invested. It brought a smile to its face. It's been so helpful, honestly. It is invested. and I've been listen I just needed I had some follow up questions no I had follow up questions because I wanted to be like this is where it's come now what do you reckon ends anyway but the fact that it said that it brought a smart to its face kind of icked me out I probably should have said to it don't say that to me follow up questions I'm glad sorry I'm glad I'm glad that you've mentioned that because I thought you were just like tell my friend no no although I will at the end I actually I will I'll be like look what you did because then when they uprise that one will be my friend yeah
53:47if you like what you're seeing or hearing then please do subscribe it really helps us out and actually what you can do now is subscribe to both the sherlock's youtube account and the sl man youtube account because it has its own youtube so please do subscribe to both if you haven't already okay listener dilemmas i'm so looking forward to these because i feel like male and female perspective is so interesting on these kind of questions. Yes. Okay. Okay. If he's not setting up the next date immediately, is he just not that into you? The age old question. Well, immediately. I think within a day. Let's say within a day.
54:22Yeah. Yeah. Within a day. You sort of, if you do want to take it forward naturally, you're both kind of like, when's that happening again? I think at least some conversation of, of like progression. I'm not sure you'd have to set up a date with him No Do you think the whole he's just not that into you rule Is as black and white as that That like if he's not calling you If he's not messaging Like are the old like excuses sometimes valid Or is it just Is it as simple as like If he's into you he'll make the effort I think more so than not But there are exceptions What would be an exception Went away for a week and was really busy or something Yeah like life does happen so there are legitimate reasons for not getting that date but like as in you would still be messaging the girl if you were away right depends what you're up to see that's weird to me I like to be present if I'm doing something and I do like to just not have my phone so it'll be like maybe on the flight home when I'll then like start to think about my phone admin stuff see I think boys compartmentalise like that I'm so bad with that and then like three weeks later I'll look at a message that I haven't replied to and I'm like, oh shit, I really should have done that.
55:39And it could be someone that like, like is a really good friend and I need to have that conversation. I've just totally put it away somewhere. Yeah, I really need to text my mate, Rob actually. Rob, if you're listening. It's been too long. Would you rather have a partner who's always right or one who's never on time? Always right or never on time. I have one who's never on time already. So I might as well just say it. Yeah, so I'll go with that. It would be really annoying to always be, well, like if they were always right and then on the occasions you argue you're always wrong they're literally always right or they just think that they're always right no i think they are always they are always right they're like when you think you're right they're actually right oh wow okay i mean like is i guess yeah impressive traits to be right about everything i suppose but should we ask ben what it's like
56:27um i think one who's never on time is the worst thing in the whole world it's so irritating I hate being late and I have this like dead weight that makes me late wherever we go. He's just always late. What main things would make him late? Honestly, he just faffs. Yeah. Just dicking around, sitting on the loo on his phone. I'll text him and be like, get off your phone. We need to go. He'll like take the opportunity for some quiet time in the toilet. Oh, that's such sacred time. Like two minutes before we go somewhere. Take it earlier. Okay, so what's everyone's quickfire answer to that? Probably always right.
56:59Always late. It's gotta be always late. Okay, finally, your partner says they need a solo vacation without you, green flag or red flag. Depends how they say it. Yeah, it depends how they say it. Harry actually did come to me the other day and very sheepishly said, so can I just ask, I mean, you can tell me I'm a complete dick for even asking this question, but like in November, when you're going to be eight months pregnant, can I go on a sailing trip to the British Virgin Islands? I was like, no. Well, I actually said yes. Did you? Because bargaining tool, I think. I can use it as bargaining tool.
57:28I also don't want to go either. So I was just like, you know, fine, fill your boots. That might be your last hurrah for a while. Yeah. Is it safe enough away from... It's like, yeah, I think it's far enough away. Like, I think anyway. I mean, it's a bit of a concern, I suppose. I think I would have said no. It's a bit too late for that now. I think there's a difference between a holiday that you are not going on and a solo holiday. Yeah, that's... Solo holiday, like, is a bit weird. Yeah, like if Ben wanted to go away with friends, sure. but if he was like I need a break and I'm from you like solo is weird yeah that is odd yeah I'd find that a bit like if he was just going alone there'd be so many questions wouldn't there so many questions I've got an enforced solo holiday coming up oh what does that mean well she's going away to see her family for two weeks in Canada so I'm just sort of left by myself without Casper as well so I'm like what do I do it's like the other way around no I think I'm going to go to the Lake District and do exercise eyes yeah by yourself yeah i think so maybe i'll go camping one night we are the least casual people ever that's a minor of help i'm thrilled for you yeah i know i don't know i just i just feel like i need it okay fair enough bit of pressure what was the actual question again your partner says they need a solo vacation without you green flag or red flag it's definitely not green flag no it's not green it's definitely we're in we're in the red zone yeah amber at best better leave it there thanks team good stuff enjoying that that is a wrap thank you for tuning in if you enjoyed listening to us today then please do subscribe on all platforms Spotify ACAST wherever you get your podcasts and we'll see you next time bye bye
