1:06With us right now, Ruchi Pinninger. Ruchi, you are the founder and CEO of Watch Her Prosper. Your website is watchherprosper.com. Ruchi, it's great to have you. It's so great to be here, Josh. Thank you so much for having me and wonderful to be here with your listeners as well. Yeah, you bet. Okay, well, tell us all about what Watch Her Prosper is. Yes. Okay. So after a long career on Wall Street, primarily, I left to start Watch Her Prosper. And now we get to help amazing clients to organize their finances. And we work on their money mindset. And we really help them to redefine prosperity and see it in a new way.
1:43Okay. Well, tell me what prosperity is then. Because I think maybe many of us think we know what prosperity means. But maybe we don't have the right ideas around that. maybe we don't have the right activity around that as well. That's right. So, I mean, I think... Yeah. Oh, I'm so sorry. Basically, I was going to just say is like, give us your little mini TED Talk. I'm all ears. I will. Right. So, so many of us really think about prosperity as financial and money. And that obviously is so important. But in the work that I've done over these many years, I've really narrowed it down to three pillars.
2:18And the first is well-being. The second is spirituality. And the third is our relationships with people and with money. Yeah. Okay. Keep on going. That's the introductory paragraph. Lay it on us. All right. So well-being. Yeah. So also like the other thing, and I will deep dive into those pillars in a couple of minutes, but I just want to give you very quick background. So for me, I grew up with immigrant parents and I remember seeing all my classmates with all their fancy things and thinking that created a perfect life. So fast forward to my Wall Street days, I thought, okay, I finally made it.
2:55I bought myself this Prada bag and I noticed nothing changed. So that's really what started this whole thing is I realized prosperity comes from the inside, not the material financial things that many of us really equate it with. So when you think about well-being, it's really think about the fact that we live in this go, go, go society, right? Go, go, go, do, do, do. Being busy makes us valuable. What I really ask people to do, our clients and all other people in the world, is really step back and think about what are the things that really bring you joy? And I want you to really spoil yourself.
3:26I want you to think about what those are, incorporate them into your life, budget for them if you need to. And that also comes in all budgets. So it could be something as simple as what I love is like hanging out in my PJs all day and binge watching my favorite shows on a weekend just to get that nourishment that my body needs. Maybe it could be great massages on a regular basis, whatever it is that makes you really feel joyful. The next thing is spirituality. That's my other pillar. So spirituality is simply the recognition that there's something bigger than us out there. So whatever you believe.
3:59So I talk about universe. I talk about God. if those don't resonate for you source or just your higher self. So think about the universe as a mirror. So what you're putting out is what you're getting back. So if you're walking around all day thinking, you know, thoughts of lack and scarcity, that's what you're calling in. That's what you're attracting. Whereas if you're walking around thinking about abundance and gratitude, you're really opening yourself up to other things. So I ask people to really use my RIR method. And And this is something so powerful, something that you can bring with you all the time.
4:33You can start today and it's free. So it's recognize, interrupt, reframe. I want you to start to recognize when you're having those negative thoughts. I want you to interrupt them. And I want you to reframe them with something more positive. You know, I love this. And I think, you know, we don't even have to get metaphysical to talk about the psychological effect of, you know, recognizing green cars and then you see green cars everywhere. Right. And so when we expect abundance and when that is just normal for us and we are naturally don't recognize that we don't resonate with lack and scarcity, then we tend to at least I'll just speak for myself.
5:14I tend to put pretty quick boundaries on those things that aren't in alignment with me. So even though it might show up in my life, it's going to kind of, right, like one in and out, right? Because that's not what I choose to attract in. Whereas someone who's looking to reinforce, ah, see, the system's just out to get me. And I don't want to make light of systemic biases and unfairness. But, you know, again, if I believe that people are caring and loving, I'm going to very actively seek that out. And it's kind of like, again, it's like, you know, coming into a room and when you light up the room, I mean, darkness just can't exist in the presence of light, right?
6:00So it's like, again, like attracts like certain people. It's a positive and negative filter. There are people I know full well that come into my sphere and are like, nope, that's a little too much Josh for me. They're in and out. But Ruchi, I'd love for you to take, you know, maybe expand on that a little bit. We'll just kind of get just a little bit more, you know, kind of focused on, you know, this sense of being and how we attract a little bit better outcomes with, again, without being woo-woo here. Absolutely. That's right. This can be for everyone, woo-woo or not. So I loved what you said.
6:37You gave that beautiful car example, Josh. So thinking about it like this, just purely from a scientific, from a neuroscience perspective, our mind is, there's, sorry, every second, there are 40 million bits of information available to us and we can only process 40. Let me correct that. There's 11 million bits of information available to us at every second, and we can only process 40. So when you're looking for something, you are certainly going to see it. So you gave that car example, like if you said today, I'm going to see yellow flowers everywhere, you know, and you kind of had that intention, you're going to walk outside and you're going to start to see all the yellow flowers.
7:15I did this a while ago. We have a house up, you know, near nearby our New York City apartment, and there were yellow flowers outside. I had never even seen them until I did that experiment. So I want you to think about when, even for those of you who have businesses, if you're thinking, oh, there's, there's no clients, there's never any clients, you're missing all the clients that are out there, the millions and millions of clients. So just start to reframe and start to think about there's clients everywhere. Everywhere I go, I see clients. Yeah. And so, yeah, I love it. Okay. Well, Ruchi, obviously, we need to talk a little bit more about practical activities.
7:54We're talking about money. Obviously, we want to make sure that our actions are in alignment with our goals and what it is that we want to attract more. And I know that for business owners, I'll just kind of advocate for our typical SMB founder that they've been doing what they're doing for five or more years. They've got a small team. But maybe, Ruchi, they stress over cash flow issues, right? And everybody does. Not everybody, but nearly everybody does. Like, yeah, I got good months, and then you got not so good months. Like, that's just very, very common. And that can be maddening. Um, when we are, let me ask it this way.
8:31When we find ourselves in a season of lack or challenge or, um, you know, what might feel like, uh, you know, externally enforced scarcity or whatever, like, how are we, how can we snap out of that? because it is, it's demoralizing. And I just, I have, I feel badly. And it is the number one complaint of SMB founders is cashflow, you know, just - Absolutely, yeah. So I love that question. And, you know, 82 % of businesses fail due to cashflow mismanagement. So it's so important to talk about this. And I also just want to touch on very quickly that third pillar, which is healthy relationships with people and with money.
9:18So, you know, let's focus on the money piece. And this is really about your money mindset. We talked about the RIR, you know, it's about how do you feel in your body around money? Like, what are your beliefs? If you've grown up with parents fighting, then, you know, you might have some negative thoughts around money. It's not safe to have money. So I really want you to dig into those and like, what happens when you think about money in your body? And like, do you feel that tightness? And like, that is a way to really recognize there's some work to do there. and then your money habits. So Josh, that kind of brings us to your question.
9:50So with our clients, what we really do is we wanna create some strategies for them so they never really get to feel that. So they're always planning for the future. We're ensuring that we're automating savings for taxes, savings for growth and emergency funds. And we're really beautifully aligning their personal goals and their business goals. So it's almost like we're reverse engineering. We're starting with what are they bringing in? What are their expenses? And then we're sort of saying, like, if they want to live this most beautiful, prosperous life, you know, what are their regular personal expenses, their investments, their savings, their other personal goals?
10:26How do we align those and reverse engineer so that we can obtain that revenue level that they need to live and do all of those things? So if you're planning ahead, that is really going to be the key for you in all of that. I love it. So, Ruchi, I would be remiss if I did not point out that the name of your brand is Watch Her Prosper. Yes. Take a moment, if you would, and talk about the fundamental transformation that is taking place. And I was, in fact, just doing some research about trends among women and higher education. Right now, it is just slightly under 60 % of all college students are female.
11:17And that is not expected to change anytime soon. So already there are millions of more college degree receiving women. So if you just start projecting that trend out, like if the equivalent of an entire U.S. state of new women are graduating with college degrees and that same number of men are not, will you project that out 10 years, 20 years from now? And Ruchi, I don't think most of us understand just how impactful that is to the way we operate as a society and certainly the economic impact of that. Absolutely. And that's why we do this work. You know, 61 % of women would rather talk about the details of their own death than to talk about money.
12:11And that's why this is so important. And that's why we're making this impact. And when they survey men around personal finances, they feel confident. And when women are surveyed, they feel anxious. So what we're doing here is changing the narrative and knowing that women are making most of the household decisions. That's why it's so important for them to feel safe. And when we talk about those money habits, you know, even as entrepreneurs or not as entrepreneurs, either way, looking at our money, talking about our money, trusting ourselves with our money. that is so important. And that is exactly why I am doing this work.
12:48And just to clarify, yes, the company is called Watch Her Prosper, but we work with all. We have beautiful, amazing humans from all over the country, all genders. And actually, many of our clients are the husbands of our female clients because they are like, you need to get your money together and you need to work with Watch Her Prosper. So that's what's happened. You know, and just, you know, one final quick note on here, because I do need to wrap up. But, you know, again, in terms of other, you know, just trends that are happening, when we think about the intersection of women and money, Ruchi, it was in my lifetime that women were not allowed to have credit cards, checking accounts.
13:30They were not allowed to have a business loan in my lifetime. I remember that. My grandma, who was a small business owner, was not allowed to get a business loan just simply because of being a woman. And so she had to get a man to be the primary on that. Uh, that does not, that does not disappear from our culture overnight. It's rooted maybe unconsciously in, in every person's brain, male and female, even though we today might look at that and recognize, oh, how archaic and ridiculous. Um, that's, you still see remnant of that and you would probably will for many more decades. that's exactly right and that's why i talk about kind of how does it feel in your body because there are those beliefs you know whether we realize it or not there's so much subconscious stuff going on in there and in fact like 95 to 97 of how we show up is based on our subconscious beliefs so really digging deeper really making it safe for you to hold money safe for you to attract money creating safety in your body and that could just simply be you close your eyes you visualize what it feels like to have a lot of money or have everything that you want to have.
14:47And not just visualize it, but really feel it. And that will start to shift your own internal energy as well. Well, this is wonderful. Tell us what it looks like when folks work with you. Like I'm looking at, you have a new business setup package, your growing business package, mature business package. Tell me more about what this looks like. Sure. So most of our clients have either worked with someone on their bookkeeping and their finances, and they're just not getting the attention and the support and the safety that they need, or they have just been ignoring their numbers because that's what we do a lot of times, right?
15:23Because it's easier to ignore and tell the stories. So a lot of our clients come to us when they're really ready to dig in and they know that they have a safe, judgment-free zone with us. So we're providing financial guidance, meeting with them either monthly or quarterly, depending on the package, doing their bookkeeping, because it's so important to have excellent numbers. And we really pride ourselves on being detectives, not data entry, and really helping them get ready to be prepared for tax time to save, to work with their accountants, to make sure they're paying estimates and they're on top of it and there's no tax surprises.
15:55And then, of course, there's that twist of money mindset based on what we even talked about today and a little bit of spirituality just at their comfort level. Yeah. Okay. Ruchi, your website, WatchHerProsper.com. Someone that's been listening to our conversation. I don't know if you have any long-form content. If you have, you know, what you would recommend for next steps, depending on where someone may be at after listening to our conversation.
