1:05With us right now is Joseph Lee. Joseph, you are the CEO at Supa Demo. Their website is SupaDemo.com. That's S-U-P-A Demo.com. Joseph, it's great to have you. Thanks for having me. Yes. Before we get going and talking about what Supa Demo is, what do you do for fun or what are you into lately? That's a great question. I mean, I love being social, but the craze that I've been into recently is basketball. So I joined a basketball league in New York where I live. So I've been playing and practicing every week and getting in games on Saturdays. Can't say we're very good. We lost by 50 in our first game, which is not great, but it's been a lot of fun.
1:54Yeah. So listen, so who are these folks that are coming together and just playing basketball together? Do you mind kind of explain? Because, and what does this do for you? Like, what does this give you? So you're just basically getting together with a bunch of other guys or people and just like, hey, I have a fun idea. Let's play basketball and compete against other guys that want to play basketball. Is that kind of? Yeah, yeah. I think to answer your first question, I think there's a confluence of founders and entrepreneurs and people in tech in New York that naturally gravitate together. So I think I've been fortunate enough to meet friends that are kind of in the same space as I'm in.
2:32and uh what i get out of it i think it's just um like a mental getaway uh like shutting off work and not thinking about all the what-ifs and strategies and the day-to-day rigors of running a business and just being able to unplug and just go out there and play and be young and have fun and uh you know enjoy a meal after uh after the game regardless of if you won or lost i think that's the beauty in in organized sports but it's kind of cool when you're playing like as a team like that vibe that you know kind of that's got to feel kind of good too because i'll tell you i think a lot of us especially as we you know start getting into middle age and stuff we have kids and then we kind of get through like it's harder to make friends like socially absolutely yeah i think um i think there's less kind of uh structured environments binding people together you know you're not going to the same classes you're not playing the same sports you're no longer hanging out with people in the same age bracket.
3:32I think people from like all walks of life, all ages. So Josh, you're absolutely right. I think it's pretty hard to make friends as you grow up. But I think if you're willing to put in a little bit of time, like there's definitely getaways and gateways to meet people 100%. Right, right. And we do, we, you know, social media is kind of a horror replacement for, you know, that in person getting together and true camaraderie like that. So thank you so much for sharing that. I hope we've inspired many, many other future amateur basketball players. Joseph, I want to talk about Supa Demo. I think I've heard of your platform before.
4:12It's the fastest way to create interactive product demos. Do you mind just kind of giving us a demo? And we're going to have to do this for our audio listener so we'll do as best we can oh wow okay do you want me to like share my screen and uh show you or just well you can as long as you don't mind describing exactly what we're seeing for those who are not be able to see yeah no i'm happy to yeah let me go ahead and share my screen by the way for our friends that are listening to audio only in your audio podcast player you can pull up super demo.com and follow along okay beautiful i love it by the way i should point out while you're getting this set up.
4:53You got a lot of big names and a lot of great tech companies that are using your solution. Turo, Netflix, Siemens, Beehive, Gumroad, JotForm, Typeform, HelpJuice. It's trusted by 60 ,000 professionals at leading companies. See you been around. I've seen, I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I've seen this. Cool. Cool. Yeah. And then really the The whole thesis behind Superdemo is communicating products, communicating features, workflow. It's essential to knowledge workers and the way we do work, whether it's a salesperson trying to close a deal or someone in customer success trying to onboard someone or someone internally just trying to teach a colleague how to do something.
5:38But the way we do it today can be extremely resource intensive, take a long time, impossible to maintain after you create a video. Everyone needs to create a script, takes multiple retakes. So we really want to make that process super simple, intuitive, easy. But at the other side, making it super engaging and making it learning by doing for the end viewer that is interacting with the SuperDemo. So how you would go about creating a SuperDemo, it's super, super simple. You can either use our desktop app on Windows or Mac, or you can use our intuitive Chrome extension. And from the Chrome extension, you essentially click record Superdemo.
6:22And you walk through whatever feature, product, workflow that you want to demonstrate out to the world. So, for example, maybe I'm a product manager at LinkedIn and I want to showcase how to change admins on my company profile. And this is something maybe I want to use in onboarding or maybe I want to put it in my knowledge base and embed it directly into my docs. from here. I would walk through the steps as if, you know, Josh, you're peering over my shoulder here. So what we're doing right now is we're actually looking at a LinkedIn profile right now, and you've already clicked the button. And so now I'm just simply watching you share your screen in Zoom.
7:03And so, I mean, obviously everyone's familiar with that and you can screen share and so forth. But SuperDemo does a whole lot more on top of that. Exactly. So all you do is basically at your own pace, as fast or as slow as you would like, walk through the steps. You don't need to have a script ready. You don't need to look good on camera or have wax in your hair. As soon as you've essentially walked through the workflow, you can pause, cancel, or you can stop the recording. And the difference here is as soon as I do what I do, SuperDemo is going to take all of the steps and turn it into this step-by-step guided demo and annotate all of the steps automatically for you one by one.
7:45And you can see viewers can step through each of the sequences at their own pace. They can go back, they can go forward. And essentially this is already shareable or you can go in and edit any of the steps. Unlike a video, you can remove steps that you don't want. You can record additional steps. record your face and camera and go in and edit any of the text one by one and change the design, the layout, how it looks. You can change the animations. And you can use our enhancement tools using AI to overlay voiceovers, regenerate the text, personalize it, translate it into multiple languages, do all sorts of things like that.
8:27So that's a very quick overview. And I'll start sharing. And so when you're recording this in real time, could you use this for live demos as well? So for example, let's say I'm live on Zoom and let's say I have a big static image and I want to be able to zoom in and highlight and have other flourishes that can come up. How can I do that in a live demo situation? Yeah, so I think the use cases for a platform and a tool like SuperDemo are pretty boundless. We see people using it across the board, customer success, pre-sales, follow-up materials after a sales call for live demos as well. So depending on, I think, the use case and the intent, you would change the fidelity of the messaging and the recorded content appropriately and kind of deploy it for what you want to use it for.
9:18yeah um and and so this should seem like kind of an obvious question but how does this outperform uh just someone just hey it's just me on camera waving my hands around yeah yeah no totally and it's not meant to really super demo is not meant to completely replace that personal aspect of video but really when you're creating for certain use cases like documentation like for onboarding, like for sales follow-ups. Recording yourself can be a pretty daunting process that is extremely time-consuming. First of all, you gotta look good. You gotta have the script. You gotta re-record multiple times. And by the time your product changes, you're out of luck.
10:02You gotta do it all over again, right? Your design changes versus a super demo. We just went through the demo. It takes maybe two minutes, maybe three minutes to create that content. So if you're creating tons of these types of demonstrations or tutorials, now you can create it in not even a tenth of the time you were spending on video. You can scale your time. You can save time. You can maintain things better without having to kind of rip things out and redo it all over again. Because, again, it's modular. You can go in and change text, change slides, add slides, remove slides, et cetera, et cetera.
10:37And it's just more engaging to the end viewer because they're in the product interacting with, you know, your content rather than passively watching it. And let's be honest, if it's more than three minutes, they're probably on their phone, on Instagram, scrolling around, right? Yeah, you got to make it visually stunning and easy. I mean, I would assume like YouTubers could use this as well. Yeah, yeah, totally. It depends. I would say, again, typically I'd say video is a better conduit for content on YouTube. But if you're – Right. Well, no, no, no, of course. But I mean you could create this and then use this.
11:14I don't know if this would be used to create that B-roll or whatever. Yeah. You certainly can. And SuperDemo is fully exportable as well. So you can share it online and you can download it as a video and reuse it, repurpose it. So create once and reuse across multiple mediums in many different ways. Yeah, yeah. So Joseph, tell me about Supa Demo, the company. Yeah. So we started back in 2023. We've been growing super quickly. We grew about 6x revenue last year, and we're trying to grow another, you know, three to four X here. We've been growing out the team. um yeah it's been a really exciting um journey uh building up the team building a like a remote first um kind of um distributed team environment across different countries and learning about all the people and cultures and things that are happening um in europe and in asia and north america through our team has been really fun uh this is not my first uh at bat i've been building businesses since I was maybe 21, 20 or so.
12:23So straight out of college university, I started my first company, did that for about nine years. And yeah, this is the second, I guess, real company that I'm running. Yeah. And so obviously you work with SMBs, you work with a lot of independent entrepreneurs, the pricing, I mean, it starts, it's free. There's the pro plan, the scale plan, or like, you know,$36,$50 a month on monthly or$27,$38 on annual. But then you have enterprise plans. You mind maybe talking about the enterprise clients that you work with and what that usually looks like? Totally, yeah. So we work with large organizations as large as, again, Siemens or Microsoft or Nintendo or Pokemon, and all the way down to single-person entrepreneurs that are running consulting businesses or startups as well.
13:15So SuperDemo is designed in a way where it is self-serve and it flexes to kind of the needs of the organization. And it's built in a way where as organizations add more use cases, more teams, more members, because again, it's not just salespeople that have the need to do product demos. It's people on customer success, people on training, people on product marketing, people on growth. So as they start to add more people, that's actually when they find more ROI and more value and amplify the time saved across the organization. And so naturally, people come in as single seats or as free users, and they graduate up and up and up.
13:57And eventually, an organization is like, whoa, we have 100 people using SuperDevil at the organization. We should probably be on the enterprise planet. That's the way that works. What's going on when someone needs 100 seats? Like, why do they need 100 seats? Why are they doing it? Why are so many people using the platform in the organization? Yeah. So again, I think across different use cases and departments, people have the need to demonstrate how their products work. They need to be able to demonstrate the value of their product to customers. They need to be able to train new employees. they need to be able to update existing customers on new features and new updates that are happening with their product so those activities are already happening within the organization but communicating them out and demonstrating them out is happening in a less than adequate way so for an organization whether it's 10 seats or 100 seats up to a certain point it's a no-brainer for them to say, hey, sure, I'll pay$30 a month, but my employee is now saving upwards of six, seven, eight hours a month.
15:05And they're not only the time savings, but they're just happier as a result of it because they can reorient their time on higher order, more productive work, relationship building, rather than being in the nitty gritty of creating content. Yeah. Super demo. Listen, I'm sure this is going to be pretty obvious. What does somebody do in terms of next steps? I would imagine they can see a demo of SupaDemo. I'm just guessing. Yeah, they can. I mean, you can go right on our website. We're very transparent. So whether it's on through our website or our kind of searchable knowledge base, you can learn about all our features and everything we do by clicking through an actual SupaDemo that's embedded.
15:52if you like what you see you can sign up for a free account we'll put you in our scale tier so you can try all the bells and whistles you don't even need to put in a credit card in fact you don't even need to sign up you can just go in and start creating content and poking around on our editor and the thesis there is okay you sign up for an account we help you find value you try it for different use cases and if you like what you see you can put in your credit card and stick around it's not no worries we have a free free tier that you can use forever as well yeah Very, very cool. From pre-sales enablement to post-sale customer education, the platform is flexible enough to support growth at every stage.
