In short
Biohacking and regenerative medicine for longevity/“peak span,” focused on improving energy and metabolic function using assessments and therapies (meditation, hair tissue mineral analysis, supplements, ozone therapy, and stem cell programs).
Guest
Bill Quateman, founder of Advanced BioCell (advancedbiocell.com) and StemCellsForLife.com. Background includes decades in entertainment as a songwriter/performer; early career tied to major label work connected with Clive Davis and records involving Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.
Key claims
Health is defined as energy; many clients aren’t “sick” but have fatigue/brain fog from underlying biochemical imbalance. Hair tissue mineral analysis reveals mineral/energy “transactor” levels to reduce guessing about supplements. Meditation helps regenerate the system so people can “go and do” more.
Notable examples
“Two-cylinder car” analogy for metabolic imbalance; meditation taught to children by having them sit still, then “dance” if they move.

0:46Visit podverified.com if you'd like to be featured as a future guest. I'm Josh Elledge. Let's get into it. With us right now, it is Bill Quateman. Bill, you are the founder of Advanced BioCell. You're found on the web at advancedbiocell.com and also yourstemcellsforlife.com, which we'll talk about. But Bill, this is kind of, if you don't mind, like I'd love to talk about this a little bit. You, you are a, you've been a performing musician. you've had some success in the music industry. And I just want to say, you know, and I think you're from Chicago, right? Yeah, originally. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:29So I may have heard your music on the radio. In fact, I'm quite sure. I'm originally from the kind of Chicago area, Midwest, Wisconsin, back then in Michigan. But by the way, your music or your personal website for Bill Quateman Music is at BillQuaitman.com. Bill, it's great to have you. Thank you, Josh. It's a pleasure to be here. You're a live wire, and I've been looking forward to this for a couple weeks. As have I. Do you mind maybe just sharing a little bit about your experience in the music industry? I normally ask what people are kind of geeking out on right now, but just given the limited time, I'd love to just give you a couple minutes to talk about what life was like, and obviously still are, now that your music is kind of finding its way into like a lot of artists into all the media that gets created today tv shows and movies which uh i just is cool but yeah give us a just quick little history lesson sure sure i had an illustrious career in show business i was a songwriter and a performer recording artist and you know for for the folks that are you know business owners and entrepreneurs it's the same kind of dynamic you know you have an ocd kind of quality and you have a dedication and you have a focus and you have a concentration and it's making records and recording and writing songs and performing is a lot the kind of the same kind of dynamic you know you push a paper clip across the floor with your nose and you keep doing that until it kind of gets to a piece of paper that you can use it on but I was very lucky I had a a really great great start with a big record company executive clive davis and my record was released with bruce springsteen and billy joe's first record and i actually sold more at that time and then clive got fired and my manager lost his nerve and i got put into the pipeline of all of the things that all of us entrepreneurs and business owners do, which is okay.
3:35Let's just use challenges and obstacles as opportunities for growth. So one thing led to another, to another, to another, to another. And from the music, which was a really great time, I had a lot of fun. I did a lot of great work and had a lot of great reviews. And you learn pretty quickly that in the entertainment business, it's one of the only places you could die of encouragement. So one thing led to another. I did some playing around Chicago after I'd started out with a tremendous following and kept things going. I started a publishing company, wrote a book about step families called Daddy-Daughter Dinner Dance.
4:15I think you can still get it at Amazon. Thinking that I could get to the Oprah Winfrey Show, have enough exposure, and get back into the music business. You know, and the funny thing is I called over there and I got a woman on the phone, Harriet Seidler. I think I might have told you this story. And she said, well, how can I help you? And I said, well, you know, I got a book about step families. I want to get on the open room. We should look like everybody in the world does. And she says, well, okay, like, what's your name? And I said, Bill Quateman. And she says, Bill Quateman. And my hair in the back of my neck went up.
4:51And I said, well, yes. She said, we play your music in-house all the time. So I thought it was in. But the truth is, I hung up the phone and I realized, you know, I'd only had 5 ,000 books printed with friends and families after getting rejected by publishers for a long time. And then so I had to let it go because I only had 2 ,500 books left. And then I got a call from a naturopathic doctor in orthomolecular medicine who wanted to write another book about hair tissue mineral analysis, which is one of the basic things that we do, and orthomolecular medicine, which is the best molecule that will support your body.
5:34And that put me on a whole nother trail, which got me to where I am today. Yeah. You have a very successful and thriving business in LA, where you work with a lot of people that, you know, they're not ready to get old and feel old. Do you mind sharing maybe just a bit, an overview of the work you do with Advanced BioCell and your stem cells for life? Yeah, absolutely. You know, the basis of our business, my business, this business, is to really just help people live better longer. The idea really is, you know, a lot of people talking about lifespan and longevity and slowing the aging process and reversing the aging process.
6:22And that's really the biohack element of things and how you can do that and manage your way through living to 100, 120, 130, whatever you want to do. That's a social issue right away. Who are you going to do that with? But what we're talking about right now is what we're calling peak span, meaning how long can you live at your best life? not just long but how long can you be at your very best possible living experience and and that is another kind of step into the deeper end of the pool yeah well if you don't mind i mean i'd love to get your take i mean obviously you know there's there's a lot of information on the internet i think a lot of people uh you know in different corners of the internet get really excited about certain types of things that can answer some of those questions.
7:19But some of these, I mean, the science is really sound. So in your practice, what do you think or what do you usually talk about to maybe a crowd that's open to conversations around longevity, stem cells, and some of these emerging treatments that are available to us now? Oh, sure. Well, the idea is, you know, we start at square one and square one is what do you want? What is your health goal? How can we help you get your health goal? We know a lot about a lot of stuff, but that doesn't matter because what's most important is what any individual wants to accomplish. Plenty of people come in and they got a headache or they don't have any ability to go to the bathroom properly or they can't sleep or they got fatigue or they got brain fog.
8:11can you fix it well yeah we can fix it but why don't we look a little deeper let's look under the hood and that's really kind of the main idea here is you know let's be more aware of what is really going on here all of us that are business owners that are doing what we love to do in terms of helping people and satisfying ourselves and feeling fulfilled want to have what is called health, right, to do that. And what then is a definition of health? Well, health is energy. And so the point of our story is we help everybody understand that give you the energy. That's the point of the story is we want to help everybody get good energy.
9:06Most of the people that come in you know they're not sick but they're not healthy and a lot of fatigue comes in the door brain fog can't think straight you know all of the folks that I'm sure are part of your tremendous community are people that are out there building great businesses and want to have that energy want to have that clarity want to have that focus want to have that stamina up and that's where we come into play which is to say let's talk about the basics that will help you get that and there's some simple simple basics you know we start simply and plainly like okay one of the best things anybody could do is meditate doesn't cost you anything I used to take my children's grade school classes for a few weeks before Christmas to teach them a couple Christmas songs going back to the music career.
10:11Outriding, prolonged laughter and applause from the audience. And I knew how to do that because I'm a performer, so I would do that. My main issue to being still and being quiet, which is meditation. So I come in and I would say, everybody, okay, show of hands. What is the hardest thing to do? Oh, take out the garbage. Wash the dishes. Put my clothes away. Walk the dog. Don't bother my sister. Stop fighting with my brother. No. The hardest thing to do is nothing. So what I'd do is I'd say, all right, here we're going to do. we're gonna have everybody sit in your chair without moving anything i'm gonna play some music and the first person to move anything a finger a hand an arm whatever has to get up next to their chair and start dancing okay so the first day of course 10 seconds goes by and one person in the whole room is up dancing which is you know how bad is that and then each time it got a little longer and a little longer so like by the second month we made it all the way to like a minute with these kids sitting still in their chair this is like you know second grade third grade stuff like that kind of an impossible task and then actually after that a couple kids would come up and say mr quaintman can we sit still today okay so i i offer that because you know for all of us and looking at what to do and how to be better we all like to want to go and do and go and do and go and do and go and do and that's really wonderful stuff and that's what it takes at the same time the spin on meditation is when you stop going and you stop doing and you sit still and your mind is quiet you regenerate your system so you can go and do and go and do and go and do more that's really kind of like the spin that i put on a simple thing like getting started by understanding how you can support yourself to get what you want.
12:33What a great way of teaching that, by the way. I think that's just brilliant. I'm going to try that on myself. In fact, I'm going to try that right now with our listener, our friend that's listening. Unless you're driving the car, your job is to remain completely motionless. And when you move, you got to get up and dance for the rest of the interview. Bill, tell me about, because I know, obviously you serve a lot of clients in LA there. and at advancedbiocell.com, you have a lot of programs that you work with clients and folks all over the globe. I'm really interested, for example, you've got a hair tissue mineral analysis.
13:15You just have a lot of things that you can offer and provide people, especially as they're going down the rabbit hole and learning more about these emerging technologies. You provide a lot of these services that folks are looking for. Do you want to just talk just a bit about your business and what's at advancedbiocell.com? Sure, sure. What we do is, again, we help people live at their best life as long as possible. And that starts at a foundational level. The basics, really, again, we start with like, let's talk about calming down. And that's where the meditation comes in. Then one of the basic, basic things you can do is, Like you said, the hair tissue mineral analysis is the most in-depth assessment of each individual's biochemistry that you can have.
14:07All the biopsies are good, blood, urine, stool, and the like. They have different bits of information to give you that will help you. However, for nutritional values, again, energy. Your metabolic function is how your body takes nutrients from any source, holds those nutrients, and uses those nutrients to make your energy. We could get more complicated in the science about it, but that's the simple idea. so most people have no idea about how imbalanced they truly are until they have one of these type of hair tissue mineral analysis tests to show them how their metabolic function is off so like you got a six-cylinder car two cylinders are not operating properly you'll still get to the grocery store you'll still get to the movies you'll still get to the job and back get to the park go to the beach, whatever.
15:06However, you're going to be putting more wear and tear on the engine with those two cylinders off. You're going to be using more gasoline to do that with those two cylinders off. It's like with the tires are low, you're going to use more gas. The whole thing is going to be more difficult to operate. That's the basic point. So as you get those cylinders fixed, you're humming down the road you're using less gas the engine's lasting longer the whole kind of story that's a simple analogy that you know talks about what proper metabolic function can and does do for a person so that's really one of the basic starting points it takes but what we call it's like knowing instead of guessing about what's going on with your biochemistry so the laboratory gives you a digital measurement of your most important mineral levels which are what are the energy trans actors, and then a design of supplements that they have matched to your imbalances.
16:09And so you don't have to guess about what supplements to get at Whole Foods anymore. Bill, more than 31 years you've founded Advanced BioCell back then. You've done a lot of work in the entertainment industry as well. I've seen with a lot of the work that you provide. Your website, again, is advancedbiocell.com and also your Stem Cells for Life. And, Bill, all your music's on Apple Music and Spotify. You can search for Bill Quaetman. And you had a little bit of a Leo Sayer look to you back then. Yeah, I had the big fro.
16:55Well, Bill Quaetman's been a great conversation. When folks go to advancedbiocell.com, what do you recommend they do? I'm sorry, say it again. When they go to your website, advancedbiocell.com, what should they do? Oh, sure. Send us an email. Give us a phone call, 310-550-6767. We work with all kinds of things that anybody might want, whether it's foundational stuff, whether it's chronic stuff. We're working with cancer with tremendous results and the folks that want to live longer and feel great while they're doing it. We do, you know, ozone therapy. We have arguably the finest stem cell program in the world.
17:38So there's a lot of different pieces to pick from. The idea is we help it get organized. Just call us, write us. We're happy to talk to people. We like guiding people step by step. Love it. But Bill Quateman, again, founder of Advanced BioCell and entertainment industry, a great background. To our friend right now, just go to Open Up Spotify or Apple Music right now. Give Bill a listen and then go to advancedbiocell.com and see what you can learn and discover about yourself. Bill, thank you for the conversation. Josh, this has been a pleasure. Thank you so much for having me.

From the publisher
In a recent episode of The Thoughtful Entrepreneur Podcast, host Josh Elledge sat down with Bill Quateman, the International Director of Advanced BioCell, to explore the frontiers of regenerative medicine and personal vitality. Bill, whose eclectic background ranges from a high-profile career in the music industry to pioneering health entrepreneurship, shares his profound insights into how high-performers can transcend traditional wellness. This conversation provides a strategic deep dive into the world of biohacking, stem cell therapy, and metabolic diagnostics, offering a roadmap for anyone looking to align their internal biochemistry with their external ambitions for long-term health and productivity.
Redefining Vitality: The Science of Metabolic Blueprints and Cellular Repair
Modern longevity is often mistakenly measured by the number of years lived, but Bill Quateman argues that the more critical metric is "peak span"—the duration of time an individual spends at their absolute physical and mental best. Achieving this requires moving beyond surface-level symptoms to address the body’s fundamental biochemical pathways. By utilizing specialized diagnostics like Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), individuals can uncover long-term metabolic trends and mineral imbalances that standard blood tests frequently overlook. This data-driven approach allows for a "biochemical blueprint" that informs precise, targeted interventions, ensuring that the body’s internal "engine" is firing on all cylinders rather than merely surviving.
Beyond foundational nutrition and diagnostics, the conversation highlights the transformative potential of advanced regenerative therapies such as medical ozone and stem cell treatments. Ozone therapy works by enhancing oxygen utilization and stimulating the immune system, acting as a powerful adjunct for those dealing with chronic fatigue or systemic inflammation. Meanwhile, stem cell programs aim to repair tissue at the cellular level, offering a proactive solution to the wear and tear of aging. These are not "magic pills" but sophisticated tools that, when integrated into a personalized health roadmap, can significantly extend an individual's productive years and physical resilience.
True peak performance also demands a mastery of the nervous system, which Bill addresses through the practice of stillness and meditation. In a world characterized by constant digital input and chronic stress, the ability to sit in perfect stillness is a deceptively simple yet powerful metric for neurological health. By training the body to remain motionless, individuals can lower cortisol levels, improve heart rate variability, and regenerate the nervous system. This blend of ancient mindfulness and cutting-edge cellular science creates a holistic framework for longevity, proving that the most successful "biohacks" are those that respect the body's natural wisdom while leveraging the best of modern regenerative technology.
