0:20I sound amazing. welcome back to the toast and happy monday we missed you all the swirlies are back together yes yes yes we are haven't seen you bitches since thursday hope everybody's doing well are you the lie detector determined that was a lie because we did podcast together on friday and oh i meant i meant the swirlies like um the listeners gen pop g a yeah the general population it's true but we can't not talk about what we did on friday because it was so important to the development of this show. Don't you feel? We definitely are on to something in terms of like a new segment, a new something where Jackie and I on Friday there was no episode.

1:02Something like, I don't know, maybe like the first of the month. I don't know. We need to figure out how to incorporate this. So basically on Friday, there was no episode of The Toast. Jackie was traveling. And so we did later in the day get the chance to catch up when we recorded a podcast episode together. And the premise of the podcast episode was everyone's always giving Jackie shit about the stories and they're like, let's see if Claudia can choose the stories. So we both chose five stories and we wanted to see like - On the same day. We only had one day's worth of stories. So it was basically like a big pop culture episode with 10 pop culture stories, but the fun and game of it all was that like we were also competing to see if we chose any of the same stories, how many out of five we chose.

1:37I think we were thinking like maybe three of them would be similar. I thought three would be the same. I don't want to spoil what happened. It was truly one of the funniest episodes and we also just got like great pop culture chatter. So many stories. The result was shocking to me. And we had a lot of fun. And we also did so many stories that day. So if you're looking for certain stories that came out at the end of last week, like they're probably in that episode. Olivia Munn coming for the Blue Origin. Astronauts putting the ass in astronauts. Olivia Munn being the voice of the people. Correct.

2:04Big news in Susan Boyle's world. Like there's a lot to discuss. It was such a funny episode. It really was. So head over to patreon.com slash to toast for that. Also head over to shoptoastmerch.com. Last week we had a fabulous merch drop. I know everyone was loving getting everything that they wanted, and I'm so happy for you. A couple of the items that sold out went into pre-order, so don't worry. You'll be able to get them. But I did want to let you know pre-order ends tonight. So if there was anything you wanted that you haven't been able to purchase yet, just letting you know pre-order ends tonight on the tote, the T-shirt.

2:33So head over to ShopToastMerch.com. Get your orders in. Get your things. I feel like that's it on the self-promotion for the day. Do you feel? No, I'm good. That's all my promo. Now here's what I have to offer. I have to offer a White Lotus recap. I have to offer a weekend recap. I want to hear about the Rascal Flatts concert. I have to offer a Rascal Flatts recap, a little girls trip, girls weekend in Astero. Should we put in the episode description like timestamps for self-promotion? Ends now. Ends now. It's the weekend recap. What do they call it on? Weekend update. Weekend update. Weekend update.

3:09You guys, Thursday night I went to Rascal Flatts. I actually crossed the state. I know you're familiar with Alligator Alley. But I went that highway in Florida is fucking turn if you've. OK, so it takes you from like South Florida to West Florida, East Florida, West Florida. Oh, I guess that makes sense. Yeah, like middle of the state is Everglades and it's like swampland. So that highway, there's no towns to get off that. It's about it's one road something miles with like no fuel stops, no rest stops, no nothing. They call it Alligator Alley. There is one fuel stop that saved my fucking life.

3:45Like I didn't know the lore of the alley. So I got on this highway with like not a lot of gas. Yeah, but there are signs that say like check fuel, no fuel for 50 miles. Oh my God, that's so thoughtful. Like Florida does that, like to remind everyone to get their gas. I didn't know it was this big conspiracy. So that wasn't your first experience on Alley or Alley, was it? It was. You don't have to take it to get to Disney? No, it's just like up and down the east. Usually I'm just going up and down the east coast, but we went to the west coast for Rascalitos, escalitos something i would only do for my boys rascal flats um we made a little girl's trip satchel met us there we stayed at a hotel in estero and it was so beautiful i've never been out to the west coast of florida me neither um like naples it was very very beautiful actually that's not true i have because i just went to alligator alley like am i okay um the concert was amazing like those boys i'm sick to hear that i would not do what i did for any other performer on earth like they are my favorite band when I was there I just wanted like more more more it was like it fed my soul every song that they sing is so good Gary just like seriously stands there and riffs and it's like just like what's the word showing off it's crazy and it's not even trying yeah and it was just it was amazing the energy was so good you could tell everyone in the arena just like loves Rascal Flatts was Lauren Elena one of your performers so we either missed her or she didn't perform because we got there what margo had said it was like chris lane then lauren alaina then rascal flats and we got there during chris lane and then it went straight into rascal flats so either she went first that night or we she didn't did she come out for life as a highway no uh we left i told you i would leave oh at the encore not you missing the whole concert i'm cracking up no like there was two songs in the encore summer nights then life is a highway and i left in the middle of summer nights and i felt good about that i know her you know journey on this tour ended somewhat recently like this weekend yeah this was the last weekend of the tour oh but oh but no they did like a farewell for her so maybe it was before maybe she like is like i think she gave birth yeah she's so pregnant yeah she might have it was just so amazing i don't know what's next for the rascals i'm so glad that they've come out of retirement to um like do this service work i know they're actually very much a christian band i didn't realize how many of their songs are rooted in faith rooted in faith like about god obviously god bless the broken road but like stand is like there are just so many faithful songs and they cry no I didn't cry I was too like hyped up I was like the adrenaline like I was there to rage I was raging um but they are doing the world of service by bringing their music to the people and I'm glad that they're like over this retirement phase and they're back together I don't know what's next for them but if you get the chance to see Rascal Flatts across your state even if you have to go and do it it's healing for the soul.

6:32I'm so glad that I feel like I filled up my cup, you know, and I can just be a better me. Thanks to the rascals. In terms of what's next for the boys, I do feel like they're going to keep touring. I think it was a success. They have this album of like greatest hit collabs coming out and I think it's doing well. The Blake Shelton one just dropped. It's so good. And that wasn't even a song I was excited for. Me neither. Kelly Clarkson dropped her. I'm moving on one. And I'm not gonna lie. Like I actually like don't love it. I'm glad you're being honest about that what did you say on the show when i took my helmet off i said i wish that there was more blending of the voices it's like a kelly solo and then a little gary it's like you could tell they weren't in the same room they didn't harmonize together like they like wanted to feature kelly which i appreciate but it just sounded like a kelly okey where is the blending that's what i said okay understood that's a nice way to say it i i actually like and they're two of my favorites so i feel like i can say like when something's like not my favorite um it was shocking it could it should have been better it's not in my like songs Mayberry is yeah Mayberry is really good but now when they sang I'm moving on at the concert I heard myself singing it like doing Kelly's notes so it's made an impact that's Kelly that's Kelly yeah and then tell me a little bit about how you perceive their body language you know there's a lot of rumors about like the dynamics of the band and if they get along and maybe that was a reason why they kind of retired a little early.

7:55Who wants to hear a fun fact that I learned at the concert? Do you know how much I love fun facts? Gary, formerly known to you as Rascal. No, that's not it. That's like one of my least favorite things about toast herstory lore is when people say their favorite moments are like, when Claudia thought Rascal's name was Rascal. That's not what I thought. What did you think? Watch the clip. The conversation we're having is not me discovering that the lead singer of Rascal Flats is not named Rascal. That's what a lot of people think. That's like half the the like you you knew that you learned that one day you used to think that we all used to think that yeah when I was six I knew his name was Gary but I thought that it was so weird that you ever thought that it was Rascal because Rascal is a name yes right right yes yes the whole yes the premise of the joke no it bothers me so much because honestly the the toast joke got so far Gary like is always commenting on my tiktoks being like haha remember when you thought my name was rascal no i didn't i thought it was weird that like they were gonna name their band like john smith like the name of a person when it's three guys how wouldn't people get confused and you're like well rascals like wouldn't be someone's first name and i'm like no it's literally john you said it's robert flats robert yeah so like that but that i don't i hate to like clown on people it's hard to be misunderstood that's a really like frustrating feeling especially when people are like so positively like they love this moment yeah i'm not gonna like get involved and tell But just to be clear, like if you know, you know, that's not what happened.

9:21Now continue. I want to hear the fun fact. Gary, the lead singer who everyone knows, is cousins with Jay. Oh, that's why it's so complicated. No, that made it better for me. They were talking about like being cousins and starting this band. So I think third guy, and he got a DUI and he talked about it during the show and was very honest about what he's been through. And I think there was a time where like maybe the two of them were getting fed up with number three because he wasn't spinning out of control you know being the professional that they needed him to be and they took time off but now that he's sober and he's ready to work they can all work well together and I thought the dynamics were really great and everyone was just like focused on the music I thought it was I had no red flags none it wasn't like you seeing uh little mix little mix fun fact about me is that I called little mix breaking up and I called that it was going to be that bitch Jesse.

10:14Like the second I saw them perform in like 2011, I knew it. But I'm glad to know that they're cousins because that keeps people together. You know, if you're three strangers and you just walk away from each other one direction, but if you're blood, you can come back together, Jonas Brothers. It sounds a little bit like Lady A in terms of like one member sort of spinning out of control as we now know Charles was struggling with his sobriety. They're not related though, so it's actually admirable that they managed to work it out. But I'm glad to hear that you felt like the body language the dynamics were good yeah the only thing that's shocking to me is like that they're not playing stadiums like who on this earth doesn't love rascal flats jackie a lot of people it's insane i mean we know that this world is filled with sick individuals i just never realized how many yeah it's upsetting but it's better because then you get better tickets and better prices and better seats better tickets better prices guaranteed well my weekend was a little different I did um on Thursday night like really ignore you Margo and Olivia's stories like I just I wasn't interested that much I feel like it was a reasonable amount I really tried to like just I was having so much fun I took some videos because I like to watch them like you know and have the memory but I just wanted to be there so the next morning I did then feel brave enough to go watch and I agree like you were very respectful of me and I appreciate it I thought it had something to do with me um I just like wasn't I was there for me like not for social media Oh my God.

11:40It's so beautiful. It's so easy to get bogged down with social media. Yeah. And I do feel like sometimes when you go to like a sweet concert, like people feel responsible. Like you want to show people. I remember watching some concerts that I couldn't go to. I watched them on Instagram and I enjoyed it. You know, it's like you're doing it for the people. But you know what? I think people would understand. Plus Margo's there filming. She's the filmographer. You're good. Yeah. Yeah. So you could see it. Or you could just go see Rascal Flatts and support them. You could. You could. if you're not sick in the head.

12:11I had a weekend in the country, a little bit of a different weekend. Jackie was actually really worried. Jackie was worried about me. She kept checking in like, you okay, you okay? I think she thought I was going to be like so bored. Well, you went to this hotel that is so parjilish. It's called the Mayflower Inn and there's so much lore around it in pop culture. I actually didn't realize I knew it. My first ever heard of it was when the Real Housewives of New York went there. They were looking for like a nice retreat to go to after Luann got out of rehab and it's honestly the perfect place. But it was also a different hotel then.

12:38It was the Grace Mayflower and it wasn't owned by Aubertge like it is now. They had a rebrand and a re-everything. They have a steep history, actually. Me and Ben were learning a lot about it. It used to be a boys' school in the 1800s. It looks like a boys' school. Yeah, yeah. I could see it. The campus. So not only is it Roni, which I actually, as a New York local, I'm constantly using like Real Housewives of New York as like a travel guy. I still want to know what house they stayed in in Vermont. In Vermont. That was the biggest house I ever saw. if you guys only knew how many times I have went on a research trip to find that house that they stayed at in Vermont we're always Vermont is drivable like a drivable ski destination for us and that house was so big we need so many rooms if anybody knows what fucking house they rented let me know I'm always using them as like a litmus test because they're fancy women yeah and they don't go to shit places so I knew that the Mayflower Inn was going to be like um to attorney standards but I didn't know it's all bears yes I didn't know like the true lore on our way up there me and Ben were like so excited we're like we're going to the spa and this inn is so cute and like we were like reading about it on the website and we got there Ben was like you know what this reminds me of Gilmore Girls I'm like oh totally like she works at an inn in the town I think the show was like set in Connecticut so we're like oh this is so cute we just like mentioned it and you guys know I hated watching Gilmore Girls I never made it past the third season but actually when we were there, I felt compelled.

14:00We started it right where we picked up because it was just giving the vibes. Then the next day, I was looking for a place to go to lunch in town, and they were recommending this diner, and they're based on Luke's Cafe, which is from Gilmore Girls. I'm like, oh, that's funny. I'm like, that's so weird. Turns out, and then I did a little bit more research, Amy Sherman Palladino, who created the show, stayed at the Mayflower Inn, was just taken by its charm, the town, it's called Washington, Connecticut, the small town that it's set in. And literally, Stars Hollow, the inn, it's all based on this town in Connecticut.

14:33Not me thinking, me and Ben being like, it looks like Gilmore Girls. That's so funny. That's also funny because when I was there, I got a Downton vibe. Oh, yes. The actual hotel property is very Downton. It's very British. I was feeling like I was in Downton. But the town, like we went out. We never made it to town. And it's Litchfield, right? It's Litchfield County, yes. The prison. Correct. They don't talk about that, do they? Lots of lore. Lots of lore. Pop culture. Litchfield is where Orange is the New Black. Bursting with inspiration. Then I did even more research. Turns out, remember when Netflix created another season of Gilmore Girls 15 years after it ended?

15:13To celebrate the Gilmore girly community. We're so excited. They created Fan Fest in Washington. They all descended upon this small town and had a festival to celebrate. So I didn't realize I found myself in the middle of Gilmore Girls land. and I picked it back up and I'm sorry to say like it still sucks. I actually really don't like the show. I feel like you're so valid in that and I know I wouldn't like it either. Oh my God, you would fucking hate it. However, I feel like the elk of people who love Gilmore Girls are like good people who I don't want to hurt. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, no, I'm not saying anything bad about people who like Gilmore Girls.

15:52I'm just saying - When you trash their show, like you're hurting them. The thing is, is that at a time, I think a lot of people love it because they grew up on it. And when you would watch it week to week, like I can understand how you would like it, but watching it all at once, you just like can't help but hate all the characters, like really notice their flaws. But when you watch it as a kid growing up week to week and then it becomes comfortable to you and now it's like a bingey show, I get how you love it. But if your first time watching it is binging, I actually don't, it's not a binge worthy show.

16:19I understand. But the weekend was amazing. Jackie was a little worried about me just like being bored. It was it's really it's a great place, but it's even better when it's nice out. They have a pool. They have tennis. You go on hikes. Not only was it freezing, it also rained the entire weekend. So Jackie was just like a little concerned about, you know, me getting bored. She kept checking in like, how's the weekend? Because when Zach and I went a few years ago and it was like still in like COVID because I remember like it was masky. I just remember being bored and hungry. I felt like there was a scarcity of food, but because there's like one restaurant, right?

16:49And so. No. No. How many? Two. Okay. Two restaurants. I feel like I only remember one and so I just remember being hungry When Jackie said that there wasn't a lot of food I was like actually thinking about canceling We looked at the menu before you went and I said these are things I've never seen before So I feel like you were going like when they were impacted by COVID like operating at a small because I ate so much I ate so well the food was amazing I didn't want for anything food wise thankfully and we had a great time I was a little worried about being bored too but the spa was amazing Did you read?

17:21There's so many things. I literally just couldn't pick up my Kindle. Do you know what I mean? I do. I like sat down on this couch to read it. I ended up just taking a two hour nap. Like I just couldn't do it. I understand. I have to pick up my Kindle today because we're recording Redheads this week. We are a week behind, but we will be there. The Redheads have been through a lot. Yeah. The Redheads are, it's a group of like dynamic, formidable women who have a lot going on in their lives. Who will persevere. Yeah. So stick with us. new episode drops this week did you watch white lotus finale of course i did i i'm so glad to be done with the show let's not spoil it we got like a lot of hate last week for like before the recap in the pre-fast by banner we were like said something that spoiled it i'm sorry this is one of the shows like if you're not watching it live that's too bad for you bitch like i just feel like today sometimes i feel really bad about spoilers but today i feel like zoom out you know you got your little thing on a tv show wasn't even the finale like what the that there was incest like zoom out.

I thought maybe the finale would be the 10th. I was not expecting the finale to be this week, but I was pleasantly surprised. Yeah. So let's get into the story, shall we? Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Today's episode is also brought to you by Haya Health. Hi, hi, Haya. Do you know what that's from? No. It's Ben's favorite thing to quote. It's from heavyweights. Typical children's vitamins are basically candy in disguise. It's filled with two teaspoons of sugar, unhealthy chemicals, and other gummy additives that growing kids should just not eat.

22:12Well, that's why Haya was created. It's a super powered chewable vitamin for kids. And of course, you know, many children's vitamins have tons of sugar, like five grams of sugar. It's known to contribute to a variety of health issues. Haya is different because they are made with zero sugar and zero gummy additives, but it tastes great and it's great for picky eaters. Example being my niece, Michaela, you should see how she runs through the house like when it's time for her gummies and she's super picky. It's formulated with the help of pediatricians and nutritional experts. It's pressed with a blend of 12 organic fruits and veggies.

22:40It's then supercharged with 15 essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, B12, vitamin C, zinc, folate, many others to help support immune system, energy, brain, function, mood, concentration, teeth, bones, and more. It is non-GMO. It is vegan. It is dairy-free. It is allergy-free, gelatin-free, nut-free, pretty much free of anything you can imagine. So if your kid has any sort of specifications, you're probably okay. Every single batch is third-party tested for heavy metals. and we've worked out a special deal with Haya for their best-selling children's vitamin to receive 50 % off your first order.

23:10You have to go to HayaHealth.com slash toast. It's not available on their regular website. So go to H-I-Y-A-H-E-A-L-T-H.com slash toast to get your kids the full-body nourishment that they need to grow into healthy adults. Thank you, adult cogers. I don't like pronouncing the word adult to adult. Okay, no one's making you. I just don't like it. I just tried it on for size, you know? And it didn't fit. I didn't like the person it made me. Okay. So now we know. I went into the men's room. They were doing like some construction here on the women's room. And it's like the guy was like, oh, you have to use the one upstairs.

23:47I'm like, but I'm pregnant. Like I can't go upstairs. And so I went to the men's room. Brave. Yeah. I kind of like felt like a pedophile. You know, there's something like weird about it. I don't know how it works. No, I know. But I like knocked him like, is anyone in here? And no one was. And I peed so quick in the stall. But like being around that urinal and it's not a gross bathroom. It's kind of one of the newer urinals. It's not like a square has more of like a bulbous round. You know what I'm talking about? No, I haven't been in the men's room recently. Oh, well, I have. And I could tell you it doesn't seem like a fun place.

24:19I don't know. I just don't feel like they have as much fun as we do. OK, well, two things you won't be doing again. Correct. Adulting in the men's room. Our first story. Some new couple news that has me a little confused. But Zoe Kravitz and Austin Butler are sparking dating rumors after their respective breakups from Channing and Kaya. But also after that video of them went viral. They're in a movie together. They're in a movie together. But also after she's been spotted with Noah Centennial. Right. And I love that she's having fun. You know? Yeah. She. So this video went viral. Like they're filming a movie.

24:56So it's just for the film. It's a kiss. It's called Caught Stealing. It's Darren Aronofsky. So of course. Of course. It's freaky. there's just this, I think it was like a passerby or took a video. It's just a kissing scene. It's nothing crazy there in public, but it was very, like a lot of body language experts were weighing in. It was very steamy. It was kind of like smutty, you know, the hand, the lips, the tongue, the lift. I think he lifted her in the air. I don't know either of them to be like that good of actors. So it did beg the question. Is there more here? Yeah. And I feel like it makes sense.

25:29They're both single. I could see her liking him. Cause he's like young Channing. And him liking her because, you know, she's connected. She's connected. Yeah. He loves a girl who's beautiful and young, of course. But what he really likes is somebody with, like, family ties, connection. Nepotism is, like, his. We have a list of a brunette. That's what he said. So I'm fun. At the very top, he is looking for someone with nepotism. And to be honest, he went straight to the top with his last girlfriend. So it's hard. Oh, no. But also with Zoe. Yes. So it's hard. It's kind of like, where do you go after the Crawford Gerber?

26:02it's hard you know you can only kind of go down but no i think this is a parallel move in terms of nepotism correct so here's where the stars kravitz bonet momoa mama that is such an old toast joke i like can't even get into it it's a breath joke it is it's so good though um it's so good the co-stars have been spending time together over the past few weeks well that could be because they're co-stars but uh correct said that they get on very well and their chemistry is as good off screen as it is on it austin and zoe have been keeping it under the radar and aren't putting a label on anything yet they're both very respectful of their ex-partners and just seeing how things go i don't feel like he needs to be respectful of kaya like she's so moved on she's fine we need a new word for moved on and then i just know she hates him zoe like she could do whatever she wants channing oh channing is hurting jackie was spotted with someone he's fine i'm still thinking of like her ex-husband like before channing i'm like yeah literally that was a million years ago no her and And Channing actually really both moved on quite swiftly.

27:00So I feel like the relationship had run its course. But he's still there. I just know it. He's still at the restaurant for sure. She broke up with him. He loved her more than she loved him. If she wanted to be with him, they would be together. Total sidebar. But it just reminded me. I guess the reminder was that Kaya Gerber at one point dated Jacob Elordi. And Jacob Elordi is now dating Olivia Jade. I found myself in desperate search of a comfort creator. Which is not something. I don't watch a lot of YouTubers. you know what let me know when you're ready for a suggestion molly bay yeah i actually watched some of molly may and i didn't find it comforting i didn't find it bad or anything but i feel like it's very personal like who you could just like lean back and just watch mindlessly and i subscribe forever because i'm a supporter of olivia jade but i never like really watched her videos like in depth and i found myself watching so many of them the makeup ones they're like tutorials but Now she's very much lifestyle.

27:55She just like shares like her trips to Palm Springs and like little halls. It's so, I don't want to say boring because it's, I loved it, but comforting. That's the word. Oh my God. She's so my comfort creator. You would love it. First of all, she's so fucking pretty. I watched her trip to Italy. I watched them making pasta. Oh, I didn't, I didn't get to Italy. I watched Palm Springs and I watched her trip to New York. She's just so pretty, so effortless. Like she does these little makeup hair. Like she put a roller in. And like it was just, she's really unreal looking. And her life is so interesting.

28:25Even though she doesn't share a lot. It's not like in depth. It's not raw. It's just pargy. Yeah. It's very surface, but that's enough. And I feel like she's been burned by the internet. Like she shared and like she's like, I'm good. Don't open up. No, don't open up. And you know what? Her being closed off, like it's still good content, you know? Yeah. Is she establishing like a super meaningful connection with her listeners? I don't think so. I don't think she gives a shit. I do. I do want to see Jacob. like where is he like she's in Palm Springs like with her it's clearly their family's house like with her sister and it's like where's your boyfriend switching gears for a second do you think Kylie and Timothy are going to walk the Met Gala red carpet together I think it's an I wouldn't write it off I think it's entirely possible oh Met Gala's super soon yeah I saw like a leaked list of people who are going and it's literally they do that every year it's like the most obvious people who go every year Anna Wintour there was nothing surprising like Kim Kardashian.

29:17Yeah. No, what I, what I always find interesting in terms of the guest list is like who from the internet gets invited. There was someone interesting who you might have found interesting. Oh, I feel like Nora Smith will be there this year. That's not what I saw. But she might be, but I literally, it was not an interesting list. No. And it's, they always, it's like in script, right? It's always fake. Like there's always a fake list. Yeah, that's what I saw. But Kylie and Tiffany's names were next to each other. Of course. I wonder if they'll walk together. that would really be like major for their relationship.

29:46They both will 100 % go separately. They always do. So them being in attendance is not a question if they're attending together. They have to give it to us. Like we've waited long enough. We've been so patient and so respectful and so supportive. Like stop it. It's true. Okay? Who do you think from the interwebs will be like lifted from the gutter? I think for sure Nara Smith. Alex Earl. Oh my God. Alex Earl. It's kind of a good idea. She did have like a big fashion-y year. She went to Mew Mew Paris Fashion Week. She's the face of framed denim. Yeah. I would love that. She would look sick. I would love that.

30:16She would rather see her up there shaking that thing. I would rather see her up there shaking that thing. Also, like, we're always talking about her. We've just been talking about her so much. She's so top of mind. Yeah. That, like, she should be at the Met Gala if they want to do their jobs right. That's a big if. Yeah. Just a suggestion. So, yeah, Austin and Zoe, I would support it if true. I would too, but I would want Zoe just to, like, you know, be a little cautious. He does give me like real grifter vibes. I know, but Claudia, like at a certain point. No, I know. He's like a movie star. How can movie stars be grifters?

30:50No, no, no. That's not what I was going to say. He could so be a grifter, but like. He is. At some point you have to like move on from it, but I don't know. I can't. I can't. You put that in my head like two years ago that Austin Butler is a social climber and he was only dating Kaya Gerber for familial like business connections. And ever since you said it, it's so true. But also she's 36 and he's 33, which I do like better than Noah Centennial. I think he was like 28 or something. same same i'm not losing sleep i'm fine with this i'm fine with it too i just like i think zoe deserves more like i don't think she realizes she's being used yeah but i think she's a smart cookie she'll figure it out quick correct are you ready for our next story it was actually a big weekend for science the oscars of science took place at the breakthrough prize gala in la on Saturday and a few things of note happened.

31:39Well, first thing of note is that our invitations were lost in the mail. I know. As beacons in the science community, we weren't there. However, Sheldon knew new faces in the science world like Katy Perry and Lauren Sanchez. You're kidding. The gala and actually James Corden hosted it. And he's making news because he made a cringy sex joke about duty judy dench who is 90 about judy dench um okay i didn't know like why you had chosen this story and i understand now um but i also feel like this oh prestigious science award like once you said it was hosted by james cordon like i no longer think of it as a legitimate like event in the academic community also gwyneth paltrow was there but she is the face of science so of course um Paris Hilton well Goop is like sciencey she does like she brought Wim Hof to the world okay this this whole thing is fake I'm sorry I I thought it was real I thought you were gonna say like Mayim Bialik was there and they had like a big she might have been there but like it was also a lot of celebrities like Jessica Chastain and Lizzo and Christina Aguilera No, I seriously don't.

32:50Olivia Wilde. Paris Silted. I don't understand. Zoe Saldana. And you love to see Hollywood, like, prioritizing education. Science is important, but I don't understand. If I'm a scientist, I'm mad. I'm seriously vomiting, especially, like, if I didn't get invited. Right, because Jessica Chastain took up my seat. Yeah, and instead, I'm seeing, who's this? Patty Jenkins. Okay, what did Doody Dench do? Okay, no, James Corden made the joke about Judi Dench and it got a little cringe. Judi Dench, hold on, pregnancy brain is really heavy. Dame Judi Dench, 90 years old. Right, right, no, I'm thinking Maggie Smith.

33:29What's Judi from? Just give me. That's Julie Andrews. Wait, who the fuck is Judi Dench? You would know her if you saw her. But she's been in that we know well. I'm just like having a brain fart. You're not, you're not. she's not like oh classic okay oh you oh by the way i'm not having a brain fart like she's kind of like a mix around the orient express like what she's known for are not things that we've really seen correct and i feel like judy dench in my mind is a real combo of maggie smith and like um helen mirren yeah she is like shakespeare in love pride and prejudice but like she knows according to my brief google search she's actually going blind which is so sad that is sad well okay I was going to make a funny joke, but I won't say it.

34:19This is what he said. He said, tonight is the one night that Hollywood and science come together. Other than, of course, that one magical evening where Dr. Fauci had a one night stand with Dame Judi Dench. Okay. I actually like, not to be like a wokey, I take umbrage with that joke. It's disrespectful and not funny. It's disrespectful. Like to Judi Dench. And it's actually not funny. like at its core. Well that just made me laugh. I didn't realize that this night. I guess what he's saying is like Hollywood is Judy Dench. I didn't realize this night is billed as Hollywood and science coming together.

34:52That would make sense as to like why Liz was there. Why all these freaks were there. But they could have, he could have made a better match of like Dr. Fauci and someone else. That would be a little more respectful. And I feel like Hollywood and science come together quite a bit like in like plastic surgery. Or like lessons in chemistry. Was that nominated for anything? At the Breakthrough Awards? But James Corden, I feel like, I feel confused, like, as to why he accepted this gig. I also feel like his weird, he didn't get canceled, but, like, people were, like, done with him and the show ended.

35:28Like, I actually feel like it had a significant impact on his career. Like, the hate, the James, and, like, we do a petition to not have an army of beads. Right, and so now these are the roles he's left to take. Why the fuck is he doing this? I actually feel like this is pretty prestigious in the sense that like only, you know, it's respectable. It's respectable work. Yeah. I just, there was a time where, you know, he wouldn't be caught dead at the Breakthrough Science Awards. But everyone's going this year. Science is the frontier. And then you're the black tie. Yeah, it's a gala. It's a gala.

36:01Red carpet. Red carpet, the works. Everyone decided to go this year. And who ultimately benefits from this event? You know, these are all for charity. Like who you keep saying science is very generic. Like who is science? I think, I think they want to keep it that way. They also celebrate the breakthrough prize, which is bestowed by the Nobel, which is bestowed by the breakthrough prize board in recognition of scientific advances. They want it to be big coach. And is breakthrough the organization? It seems as such. Yeah. The breakthrough prize.org. That would be the organization. got it this is just added to the list of like one of the yearly events for sure but the like annual events that like celebrities go to that lacma like that we have seriously no idea what goes on inside but we're just happy to like see the pictures i just want to say at the oscars this year like the lady who runs the oscars came out and like said something she actually said like we do a couple of events throughout the year like our lacma and lacmar and she gave context to those things like those are other academy events of the year they don't just pop up at the oscars once a year so if you're looking to be like held in favor by the oscar board you go to their other luxury events like lack of best stress apparently got it got it okay that that does make sense i think also it seems as though katie perry performed at the breakthrough awards um i actually really can't like i no things are getting really really difficult right now this is going to be a hard week because the ladies launch in seven days oh do they on april 14th i fear um what the next seven days are in store for us and then i also feel like the content from the 11 minute trip right they're gonna be making tiktoks doing like glam tutorials here's my winged liner in space yeah so it's been a bad week for science isn't this i look out of this world they'll be singing et literally like they're still in the stratosphere they'll be like leaving orbit it for three minutes i forgot that she has maybe the length of one song that makes this whole thing much worse yeah even though that song is really good it is good it's not her best that's not what i would perform in space what do you think is her best i tried to i tried to explain this to jackie but um she like wasn't understanding the like the gen z core but people on tiktok are having a renaissance with katie perry's old song um what a song is it you're like indian summer and they're kind of going back and realizing like there was a period where katie perry sang really weird like she would enunciate her words very strangely and so because when i'm with him i am thinking that song for me is actually top three katie perry It's really good.

38:50But if you listen to the verse, she sings like this. You're like an Indian summer in the middle of winter. And that's why I love TikTok. Because you would have listened to that song and not realized it. But she's being such a freak in that song. Yeah, that's one of her best songs, though, I think. I also love the one that got away. That's what I was going to say. I love Firework. I love Unconditionally. Me too. I mean, the whole Prism album. I know. I mean, we could talk about it at a later date. But no, but it should be studied by, I don't know, maybe someone at the Breakthrough Academy of Science, like how Katy Perry really went from being one of the biggest pop stars in the world, like Super Bowl, while also like being a really talented singer, vocalist and songwriter.

39:31Like her music is very good to now where she's a kind of I think American Idol helped a little bit, but she's like a little bit of a joke. Yeah. And she literally cannot get arrested musically. Yeah. But she literally tried to get arrested, her and Dr. Luke, and like it still didn't work. Yeah. She needs to be studied. It should be a cautionary tale to young pop stars everywhere. But I couldn't exactly pinpoint what she did wrong. Of course, the haircut. It was Bon Appetit. Bon Appetit. And then it was downhill from there. It was that whole year of like doing different music that like wasn't you.

40:02It was what she thought she did Bon Appetit. Then she did Change to the Rhythm. She was like LARPing genres, LARPing personalities, LARPing styles. Like that wasn't true, Katie. Yeah. She got lost. It's true. Are you ready for our next story? I am. A little exciting Bebe news because Love is Blind stars Amber and Matt Barnett have welcomed their first baby. So Amber and Matt Barnett are from the first season of Love is Blind. They are the first first season baby. And... Are they not the first? Oh, Alexa Lemieux is the first baby. Alexa, and then also, do Tiffany have a baby? And Brett. I don't know.

40:38But like we always say there's no Love Island babies and there's like five. Love Island? That too. There's no Love is Blind baby. There is a Love Island baby. It's Bambi. Bambi. um but there's no season one baby even though those couples have been together the longest until now amber gave birth to her first baby she announced on sunday she said baby barnett has arrived and is more perfect than anything i could have dreamed if you hadn't guessed yet baby b is a she and i literally can't believe the hospital let us take her home and that she's actually ours so cute i'm really happy for vanessa lachey she was like kind of hung up on there being no baby she got like a lot of shit for like always talking about it um i wonder what kind of gift she's gonna send I think she'll send something nice me too because she's so excited and the more love is blind babies that happen the less like the pressure is off of her for having said those things and the more job security she has because it like it proves the experiment yeah I'm really happy for Emma and Barnett they're still one of my favorite couples that I've ever seen on the show I was rooting for them since day one I mean when you think about it now in hindsight like with all the context it is so crazy that they're still together just because they were like one of the most talked about chaotic storylines in the first season they the chokehold they had on this nation with amber uh what was her name jessica being 34 and mark being 24 like that you had to be there you know it was such a good season so they were like one of two like there were only two couples that stayed married from that season the other being lauren and cameron and i feel like they were always in lauren cameron's shadow because they're like two people have never been so beloved while amber and barnett definitely had fans they also had a lot of controversy and so it was hard to come off that season where it's like you all did the same thing but like everybody loves those two everybody's confused by you two and they've emerged true it's true and it's like it wasn't still is like the lauren and cameron speed hamilton show like anytime you talk about like the greats even though like lauren and cameron are just as legit and long-standing as amber and barnett yeah like now the proof is in the pudding i don't even think they care but i'm sure at that time coming off the first season of a show you're so excited and it's like you did the same thing those people did and they're getting all the love and all the yeah and like you they were just different i know i was there like i actually i still loved amber and barnett but like i understood why lauren and cameron like they said that they are the reason why this show has eight dreadful seasons because we're trying to recapture that magic they are owed like one percent of the show They are owed equity in the show.

43:08The show is only successful and proven because of them. Yeah. Agreed. Are you ready for our next story, which is actually some adjacent news because a new trailer just dropped for a new competition show on Netflix starring the former stars of Love is Blind, Cheer, Selling the OC and other Netflix reality shows. Cheer. Cheer. They're doing like all stars. That was also a cultural reset. Yeah, like, but now they all have somewhere to go because stars from across Netflix's reality universe will compete in grueling physical and mental challenges, all while attempting to keep their name off a giant spinning wheel that randomly decides who gets eliminated.

43:45That doesn't seem fair. But similar to MTV's The Challenge, this show is called Battle Camp, and it will welcome the reality stars to camp. Love that. Where they're divided into three teams to compete in a series of physical and mental challenges. I think that like there are a lot of shows like this and sometimes they really hit like MTV's The Challenge it's kind of as like traitors to taking reality stars from different universes but there have been a lot of shows that have tried to do this and some of them are really bad yes but there are also a lot that are successful like The Challenge is major um traitors what's the other oh what's the other one that's like everyone talks about there was an E1 oh House of villains and also famously in love my favorite yeah but so there are there are a lot that are dating shows like perfect couple oh no no sex on the beach yeah what's the one where harry jousey met jess from love is blind perfect perfect couple i think yeah but what is the one where blake met g and dina do they meet on a show yeah on a show like this x on the beach x not sex x on the beach yes so there are a lot that have come and gone whether they're dating or just like competition and it's not a perfect formula like it requires and i kind of i know that there are a lot of like reality shows on netflix but i like when they go to different ponds like that's why traders is good like you have people from survivor with real housewives like yeah but i think netflix casts a lot of the same type of people yeah but listen to the shows they're pulling from love is blind the ultimatum queer love perfect match really like that perfect but perfect match is like already a residual show but okay too hot to handle selling the oc cheer unless it's gabby like who from cheer is gonna be on this it has to be gabby hold on it says at the bottom let me see who it is yes it's gabby okay okay there's literally no one else that's like not in jail no that's not in jail correct or that's what i said monica the circle the mole squid games the challenge yeah yeah the circle and the mole are like a little bit older but people really enjoyed them at the time here are people who we know that are competing so gabby and remember irena from love is blind of course i remember irena from love is blind yeah and then she's perfect for this morgan from cheer also she's super cute yeah she was a cutie not in prison yeah right i mean i guess there's only one person in prison but it just kind of takes over the whole thing it feels like they all went it's so true and they definitely all felt compliant no it just became prison correct that was so crazy nothing will ever be crazier than that agreed like a show was even a crazier show for someone to go to prison because they're like 12 and a crazier cast member because no one in this country was more beloved than jerry from cheer no one and i still have a hard time like coming to terms that like the jerry beloved big teddy bear who everyone just was like rooting for was also you know doing that things he did that those things bad things oh my god no good very bad i'm glad that gabby and morgan will have this opportunity i think they'll do great because they're so physically fit i do think they were also like sort of robbed of careers as because the show after the jerry thing like they did do another season it wasn't the same and then they just sort of like gave up on it.

47:14It was cursed. Netflix was right. Like it was just not, it was not good anymore. But I do think that it left like girls who were on their way to becoming like big time reality stars, influencers, celebrities like Gabby, like Morgan, just kind of left them in the lurch and there was no opportunities for them after. So this is good. It's like a little too late, but I'm happy. I think they do okay, like on their social medias and stuff. Me too. Up until actually last week, I was following Gabby on TikTok because she was like doing stunts and stuff. Oh, she's always doing stunts. But now it's like a lot of her and her boyfriend and I'm happy for her, but I just, I didn't find it, the content for me.

50:51Our fifth and final story is gonna lead into our TV recap. It's a little White Lotus news because it just emerged that Woody Harrelson was actually set to be in the cast of this season of White Lotus. As who, Jason Isaacs? No, as either Rick. Rick. or his friend Frank who was then played by Sam Rockwell and I actually think it would have been more Sam Rockwell because of what Leslie Bibbs said. Remember how it was like kind of last minute? They were like in Africa and then they started running his line. So I think it fell through with Woody Harrelson and he just explained why because word on the street was that it was about the salary which we said on the Patreon a story from the Patreon.

51:25Oh you guys missed this but it was a good story last week they shared. Everyone on the White Lotus makes the exact same salary. It's about$40 ,000 an episode $320 ,000. So whether you're a newbie or not, like too bad. Yeah, you make the same. And I think that keeps things like really clean. There's no negotiation. Like it is what it is. And he said, I was said to do the White Lotus and was very excited. Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision. Things must be meant to be, though, because I couldn't have done as fantastic as a job as Sam, who was killing it.

51:57I just want to say I think Sam Rockwell is doing great. But Woody Harrelson like literally would have done just as good. They're the same person. and same for if he played Rick. Except that I find Woody Harrelson a little distracting only because he's so famous. That's what I like about the White Lotus. They pick like random people who are all really good actors and you know them from some things but nobody's like a big ass star that like it's easy to sort of slip in and just be in Thailand. Whereas Woody Harrelson is like so distinct. I don't think he would have been a good Rick. I think he would have been a better Sam Rockwell.

52:28But still, I actually don't think it's the right fit. But also the fact that production shifted and messed with a vacation. And of course, family vacation is really important. But when you're a celebrity, like you can go on vacation whenever. And it's like money's no object. It is nice, but it makes me think like you didn't really want to do it. Because when it conflicts with another project, like you contractually, you can't get out of it. Like that just sucks. Like a vacation could be moved. I don't know. What if it was like a wedding or something? Like I think that's nice that if true, that Woody Harrelson like wouldn't mess with a pre-planned family vacation.

52:59but if he has a lot of kids maybe they're in school and it's just like this is the only few weeks we can take and dad showed up I don't even know maybe maybe that's it but for me it just felt like I think if he were lying he could have come up with a better lie yeah you could also look up like if he had said I had another project we can look up your projects and see that like there wasn't a conflict I don't know I just I feel like we couldn't like you never know and I think yeah it would have been a different project but I just want to say if he were in the show I know it's like yeah he would be distracting he would have been perfect it would have been great people would be obsessed with him right now and he'd be going viral like Walter Goggins is yeah Walter Goggins is going so viral they're saying receding hairlines are in I love that um also I saw a funny interview of um the girlies like the vacation girlies um Carrie Coon talking about how like because she was filming in Thailand for so long and then when she got home she went directly into Gilded Age she could not get get even the slightest tan she had to stay like as pale as she is she says we literally were not allowed to go outside until five o 'clock on their days off and we would go swimming in like long sleeves and pants that's so interesting i know i was like that sucks because one of the fun parts is like oh you're in thailand but even for the show they were only there for a week so they really couldn't get that tan yeah and if they filmed the last episode before the first episode right tanner then yeah so i found that interesting that is interesting let's do white lotus recap because the season three ended last night we find out who's the killer who got killed what was the shooting what were your thoughts my thoughts were as such and of all the people that they could have killed like i definitely like had the least amount of love for these two oh by the end i really like by the end she was really sweet yeah like she was like the breakout store star of the seat there were definitely uh i feel like everyone's actually going by like patrick schwarzenegger parker oh sorry parker posey is the breakout star if we're And then we just said Walter Goggins.

54:52Like we're saying everyone. By the way, my favorite is the other girly, her friend. Leslie Bibb? No. I don't even know what her name is. Chloe. That's like the worst character. I love her. She's so pretty and dresses so fun. And she's just like so funny. I love her. So my takeaway from this season, and I'm having a hard time remembering if I feel this way every season, is like they build up all these random storylines, the incest, like for what? Yeah. It had nothing to do with the shooting. Yeah, I mean, they couldn't all be intertwined with the shooting. I just feel like the wind-up - None of them were.

55:25The wind-up was sadly not worth the time we put in. No, when literally Sritala was like, he's your father. Like, you're kidding me. Well, I thought he was his father. I thought he was his father. Why would we care? Like, we didn't even know anything about Rick. Like, we got to know everyone, like, on a more developed level. Except, Rick, like, what is it about your relationship with your father? Who was your father? Like it's like, okay, so he's your dad. Why do I care? No. And also like your life was so terrible and your life has been awful. And, but how do you have enough money to stay at this hotel?

55:57Oh, and I'm sorry. How dumb are you? Like you come to this woman's house, you beat up her old husband and then you go back to her hotel. Obviously she's going to come find you. Right. That was so weird. Or you should have fled immediately. Your girlfriend who they know is still, that was kind of a plot hole. The fact that he went back to the hotel with no sense of urgency about, we have to get out of here. He's just like enjoying the breakfast spread. Yeah. Are you crazy? you broke into her house and you threatened her husband with a gun and then you pushed over an old man I thought that the man was going to be his father because that's like a great way to end it and they were looking alike but then when he went into the breakfast and said like your father was a piece of shit your mom you know she told you sold you a lie I was like oh I guess not I thought he was coming to the hotel to be like Rick I am your father got it and then when he shot him I I was like, oh, and then he is your father.

56:46I'm like, well, damn, this is all for nothing. You know, and it was like Rick spiraled out of control and he lost his dad and the love of his life and then his own life. For nothing. For nothing. Like over a lie that his mom told him. The hard part of the episode was that like I had officially for the first time, like lost love for Thomas Ravenel. Like, what are you doing? Killing everyone. And I go, he was going around, making a list, checking it twice. It's like, do you need money to live? Yes. Yes. Oh, you're dead. No, you can stay. Is life worth living for you? Yeah. And so when he found out like Piper did it like the monastery, it's like, oh, well, she's now on the list.

57:24It was so funny. And then it's like the little brother. He said he could live without money, but he never said he could live without his entire family. Right, right. And then like him being the one. And also like I took umbrage with like him using a dirty blender. I know. But remember, like he's a teenager and like he's a boy. and they're not going to wash anything that's just crazy he might have thought it was saxons that saxon already made right it was just like fresh protein maybe but it was still gross but like honestly i think the idea that a 60-year-old boy would rinse out the blender first is more far-fetched but the fact that the father wouldn't rinse out the blender filled with poison is crazy but he's on drugs you have to remember he's high on lorazepam which also brought him to wanting to kill his whole family yeah I'm glad he when they were all drinking I was like oh but I know that like the death in White Lotus is a shooting so this would just be more extra deaths on the side extra deaths on the side and I also felt like the whole time I was holding out hope that things would get cleared up with the FBI for him I feel like because they didn't have their phones it was like wait you're really gonna kill yourself even though maybe like everything's gonna be fine Jackie 1000 % I thought on the boat home he was gonna tell his kids by the way like he's gonna to spill the beans and then he finally gets his phone back two seconds later and the lawyer's like can mr when that guy he died or whatever it's over and he's like told his family and almost killed them for nothing but i guess that's too the show isn't like convenient like that it's realistic no they have to go home and deal with what has happened but you saw like the relief on his face when he told his family it was almost like he was worried more about telling his family than he was about like the consequences of his actions yeah so it's like your whole trip was ruined you could just tell them a couple of days ago yeah and you almost killed you almost killed uh lochemy what's the name yeah right locherman the fuck what lachlan lachlan locky locky um and so i oh and in the beginning of the episode when locky and saxy were like talking about their yeah about their like escapade and he was like just trying to explain that like you know like actually i understood his line of thinking like actually you're obsessed with getting off I am here like able to do that and I love you like I'm glad that Patrick Schwarzinger was like shut up but I kind of understood what he was saying I understood like as much as you could explain something like that right I think that he did but it obviously speaks to like a deep like lack of moral compass that he didn't know like the difference between helping out his brother and being disgusting yeah for sure it's definitely a tough line yeah i just i wanted to say like i judged him a lot and i still do and after hearing his explanation it's still inexcusable beyond belief but i understand how he got to that place previously i thought he was like a serious pervert like lock him up and throw away the key me too i thought in the monastery he was gonna start fiddling with piper but now i just think that he's like such a moron yeah me too me too um and then the three girlies who were like sort of found themselves at the center of the shooting although they all made it out alive their whole week like came to a head at this dinner where carrie coon gives this like really fucking pathetic monologue about how like basically she looks at her friends and one of them is a famous movie star and she's so beautiful and her life is amazing and the other one leslie bibb like seems to have a really good balanced life like family faith and she seems really happy yeah um and that's so great and carrie coon while she has neither of those things she's just happy to be here so it was really pathetic but i think as far as like the powerful monologues of the season i think that that was the best written yes um and even though like i don't think that time is as much of a Testament to a life well lived as living well.

1:01:27So the wind up for her, like she didn't like fully drive the point home that she's happy. Like, cause she's here. She's not. That's what she was saying. She was just like, listen, it is what it is. But like, I love our friendship and like, well, my life sucks and your guys, it seems to be great. Like that's good. And I want to keep being your friend because it's convenient. No, because like, I'm happy to be your friend. I actually like, it was so pathetic when she was just like, and you know I am happy to be at this table I'm like I'm here that's what she's saying it was very like small and they and they were like so happy to hear her say it because it was like an obvious truth that they've been saying like around her she doesn't seem happy she's put out all of her eggs into work that hasn't paid off for her that's not fulfilling like and now she's just like being honest with them and I think first being honest is like a good place to start but I think it was actually really powerful thing that she said about having no religion when you're like an a-religious person and you don't have that north star in your life it doesn't have to be god it can be family it can be it could be work if that works out um but without something like that like and you're really untethered it's a very depressing place to be now i i can't recall in previous seasons if it was always like this i just felt like there were so many things we got like invested in that went nowhere the robbery and like not guy talk telling valentin like i guy talk I wish I had the gun because I would have shot him and I really thought I really thought he was gonna get himself killed like that towards the middle of the episode I was like oh he's gonna die because he's such an idiot like he's going to put a target on his back with Valentin and his violent friends oh I know what you did and I'm like stewing on it no and the fact that he didn't tell anyone that's not even you being violent is telling someone like and having justice be served That was so stupid.

1:03:16I wish Lisa walks out the door. Except Lisa was pissing me off. Like, Guy Talk is just beta. And that's okay. Like, he knows who he is. And he's trying to be something he's not for Lisa. And like, every time, she's so like, oh, you have a gun? Let's have sex. Oh, you didn't get the promotion? I have to go help my mom with her back. Like, she's so transparent. Like, she was actually starting to piss me off. Like, yeah, he's not ambitious. He's not smart. He's not good at it. She knows what she wants. And she's honest. But like, let him go. But what's also funny is that like he couldn't even see that like what she wants from him, which is to be driven and successful.

1:03:49And he thinks like saying, I'm going to start over like that. She's going to say anything other than, OK, got to go. Right. And the wind up with him being the hero and winding up being the bodyguard, like he won't be a good bodyguard. He only like kills. I am deeply worried for Sritala. Rick was walking so slow and he had literally no choice but to kill him because Sritala is yelling at him. Screaming. It's so true. Rick couldn't have been walking slower. he's carrying a dead body so true and he's walking away from you like 10 seconds to kill him and he still needed two shots he will not be a good bodyguard he will not be the man that lisa might think that he is today and also but now lisa like knows what's in his heart she should have run now did you watch a first season yeah so i did think that the end with belinda was actually quite poetic because if you remember from the first season the first season was that like these rich people came and they literally destroyed the lives of every person who worked locally in Hawaii like including Belinda like Tanya was gonna open a thing with her and whatever and Belinda kind of has become yeah the person that she ate she like left PornShot in the dust even though PornShot really liked her and just because you have five million dollars doesn't mean you can't still go into business five million dollars like is a lot but it's not a hundred for sure but she was saying like can I just be rich for a second like do I have to start my own business today I'm so with her.

1:05:08Just relax. Invested in the stock market. But the way she just like left him behind, like literally didn't give it a second thought. She's kind of become what she hated. Yeah, she has. Like she chose like the money and left someone on the island who she said that she would start a business with, just like Tanya did to her. And a known murderer. Like she could have like had justice for Tanya, even though like that's really not her problem. Yeah, no, it was definitely weird. Because I also feel like throughout the seasons, Like Belinda is meant to be like a moral compass of the show. And so then to like watch them extorting this guy to cover up his murder, you know, that's not super moral compassy.

1:05:50Least favorite character, Zion. He was pissing me off. Yeah, he was super crazy. He was a cringe too. Yeah, he was. He was meant to be. Yeah, like U of H business. U of what? He was like saying good stuff in the meeting, but with the wrong attitude. agreed yeah but he was saying good stuff yeah so just like i i'm just trying to recall if in previous seasons there were so many stones left unturned like i know the whole show is not meant to be like all the different storylines connect just even like that baby shower scene where leslie bibb asked parker posey like didn't i see you at that like so so many things that we like got hung the incest like for what the robbery but i do think like it was just a you know a an experience of growth.

1:06:32A week in their lives. For like Saxon. Like Saxon is leaving the island a different man than when he arrived. Yeah. And they all do. Like they leave different. And I wasn't happy that Chloe died. Me neither. Or that even Rick died because. Her name isn't Chloe. It's Chelsea. Chelsea. Chloe's the girl you like. Chloe lives. Can I put her in the next season? Oh, and then that whole weird thing with Greg like being obsessed with having sex with his mother. Random. What the fuck? Random. I don't know. Yeah. It wasn't my favorite season. I also prefer in terms of destination. Like I know this one was a lot about like meditation and Buddhism and like that's kind of boring to me.

1:07:11Even though Ben is now a meditator? Correct. Ben loved like the monks and stuff. I just. And he meditated at the spa this weekend. He did. Ben took a$40 meditation class. There were like different classes offered. A lot of them were free and then some of them were not. And of course Ben chose one that was not free. I'm like so you have to stay the whole time. like you're like you go and he comes out and he was being so fucking annoying he was like it's crazy to be back in the physical world he did it was he's piper yes it was billed as a one hour meditation class but it was when he was describing to me it's a sound bath like there were bowls and it was very lauren bostick of him and he absolutely loved it it was like on your back breath work i saw his story he sounds like a changed man have you noticed a difference in him as a man.

1:07:59I kind of have. Really? What would you say are the differences? She's very tempered. Interesting. Yeah, and he's going to find a place in the city to do sound baths. Beautiful. Yeah, I think it's a good hobby. I'm not going to clown on him. It's definitely like a healthy hobby. He could be doing crystal meth, you know? He could. He might. Yeah, I heard the sound bath to crystal meth pipeline is quite short. Yeah, so pray for him. And pray for us for having watched that season of White Lotus. It did not deserve our time and I know everyone's like so excited and they're like see like it's fun to all watch something and like theorize like about the same thing and it wasn't a bad season of tv like I've watched worse but there's just so much hype for it that it can really only be disappointing at this point yeah it's not great the way people talk about it like the Sistine Chapel like it's insane now I remember why I skipped season two because I think I felt this way coming off of season one okay but season two was really good especially like you really tune in a lot for the vibes and so season two is la dolce vita and so i'm curious to where they're going to go next i had seen an interview with mike white being like we want a ski chalet we want swiss alps we want asp and he was like they pretty much said they'll never go somewhere cold like mike just doesn't want to physically be in the cold because they filmed for six months that's so funny i feel like they announced where the next season is gonna be today yeah and before i think i saw what it is but I just want to double check.

1:09:22So it was Hawaii and then Italy and then Thailand. Where to next? For the fourth season, I want to get a little bit out of Crashing Waves Against Rocks vernacular. That's funny. What other types of trips are there? They're going on location scouting in the next couple of weeks. So we'll know soon. I can't really say where we're going to land, but chances are somewhere in Europe. I saw someone guessing Mykonos. Oh, that would be good. Yeah, that still waves on rocks. but oh maybe like barcelona like a walking town yeah luxury so they have a partnership with four seasons and so four seasons has european locations in london no paris no it needs to be somewhere a little remote yeah and where it's not like everyone's in the city all day so they're not like in their hotel in the hotel just go there to sleep paris right geneva budapest athens madrid and Portugal.

1:10:16I feel like, no, Madrid is still like a big town. Those kind of all sound not the vibe. They sound too urban. Yeah. It needs to be like a little bit more in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, where it's like all-inclusive resort. Right. Where you don't leave. Well, that's our show, you guys. Happy Monday. Hope you enjoyed every minute of it.
