0:03Jackie Oshry:Good morning, girlies. It's the toast. It's Jackson Claude and we're your hosts. It's your favorite show. The fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to the toast and happy Thursday. Yay. Thursday. Yay. Yeah. Yeah.

0:32Claudia Oshry:Well earned. Well earned Thursday. Feels good. Almost better than a Friday because you know it's all ahead of you.

0:38Jackie Oshry:It's all right here. I did something so crazy that I haven't told you about that I was like waiting to actually share. I wanted to get a genuine reaction from you. Okay. I did something crazy last night. Crack. Crazier. Mess. Literally crazier. I started Scandal. Ooh. I know. Why? Because, you know, I feel like there's actually a lot of shows as a pop culture, like professional. Like I have a couple of blind spots and some of them I'm not willing to unblind like Grey's Anatomy. It's never happening. Our sister Margo loves Scandal so much. A lot of the sounds have been going viral on TikTok. So like I feel like the culture was sort of swaying me.

1:16Jackie Oshry:Ben wasn't home and I needed to do something. There's nothing on on Wednesdays for me. So I started Scandal. I have so many thoughts and I didn't even finish the first episode. Like, first of all, and I feel like I honestly I've seen one episode. I think I've seen them all. Like, I get it. You know, push and pull with her and Fitz. Of course. And then they solve a mystery every episode. I feel like I've seen the show. I have seen the entire thing as of last night. And I'm sure we get to know, like, more members of her team. But she's like, slay, Olivia. Olivia always slays. Like, it's very corny.

1:43Jackie Oshry:No. Yeah. So you're not going to watch more?

1:45Claudia Oshry:I don't know. Please don't. Like, honestly, I'm not interested in this journey.

1:49Jackie Oshry:I am pulled to, like, of course, the romance. And I know, and honestly, something that was a huge motivator. Have you ever seen the clip of them, like, doing an Instagram live during COVID? And she asks him, like, what was your like, what's your favorite season? And he goes, probably fall. Yeah. And then they're like laughing so hard. That actually influenced me a lot.

2:07Claudia Oshry:Something that happened six years ago influenced you to watch the show six years later that wasn't even in the show.

2:14Jackie Oshry:I'm just really doing my job at this point, like as a pop culture professional. Like, I feel like it's kind of crazy that we've never seen Scandal.

2:21Claudia Oshry:I think of all the things that people are like begging us to watch. Maybe start with like the new Love is Blind. Oh, really? I've also heard, even though Zach and I started it. I haven't heard. And I start every season being like, this is shite. These people are shite. This is boring. And so I barely watch. I couldn't tell you one person's name. I've heard it's amazing. Oh, really? I've heard it's amazing.

2:39Jackie Oshry:I feel like it's the same hype for like when we watch random seasons. Like, yeah, crazy things happen and it's good. But like, it's never going to be what it was. And I saw somebody on TikTok say like, they need to stop making love is blind season. Like the experiment has failed. Love is not blind. And it's like every season, it's the same trope. there's always a guy who like gets matched with a girl who's not his type. And we have to like circle the drain where he like breaks up with her pretending that he doesn't just think she's fat. You know, like it's just, it's not good. Like once you've seen one, you've seen them all.

3:06Jackie Oshry:So everyone being like this season, no, they're all the same.

3:08Claudia Oshry:There's nothing better like when you're in it, but the amount of work you have to put in to get to a place of like euphoria, it's really six hours. And I don't have that to like really spend six hours doing something I don't like in service of maybe having an enjoyable experience for three hours.

3:25Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I also, when I was on Netflix watching Skandal, I almost started watching Age of Attraction, which is the new age gap show.

3:30Claudia Oshry:That would have been more timeless.

3:32Jackie Oshry:I haven't seen people like talking about it yet. So I don't know if it's making an impact. And I will watch if like people, it becomes like culty.

3:40Claudia Oshry:My issue with that show is like they act like you can't see someone's age. And also I want to know, like, do we know the ages or do we find out at the end, you know? Interesting. I don't know. Let me know. Is love truly blind? I would be curious how it is, but like you can pretty much gauge someone's age based on looking at them. Like just a context clues. How they talk. Wrinkles. Yeah. Like I couldn't tell you the exact number, but I could give you a five to 10 year range. Right.

4:05Jackie Oshry:Do they use TikTok language being like, not us going on a date? How do they look? No, but some people can like look really young or look really old for their age. I do think like maybe they cast people who are. Who don't look their age. Who obfuscate like the traditional. But based on like clothing and how they talk, like there are context clues. you can tell when you're talking to somebody who's much younger than you.

4:25Claudia Oshry:Yeah.

4:25Jackie Oshry:Life experience.

4:27Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So did they go to college yet? Like, it seems like a bit of a flawed premise, but I'm willing to try if people say that it's good. I watched my favorite show last night, Southern charm season finale. I watched clips of the three boys on a swatch.

4:42Jackie Oshry:I was wondering who was going to be on last night. Do you know that the last time they all went on together, they made that very, very famous tick tock. I say a little prep where there'd be Quinn. And Santana from Glee. Oh my God, that came up on my TikTok because it was like the last time they were all on together. I was cracking up Craig in those pants.

4:59Claudia Oshry:I genuinely love the three of them. I need them to stop fighting. Like Craig and Austin need to stop. And I do feel like Craig is a little more open-minded where he's like, this is just the flow of Austin and I's relationship. Like we sort of need to reset. And Austin's like, I hate him. He's the worst. He's like so obsessed with hating Craig. And they need to stop. Like they're meant to be friends. Were they friends on Watch What Happens Live last night? Yeah, friendly. Like, you know. I'm sick of them not going along.

5:22Jackie Oshry:It doesn't work for me. You can't be on Watch Happens Live with your enemies. You're all drinking. It's fun and light. And they're all dressed up out in the city. I'm sure they went out afterwards.

5:29Claudia Oshry:And then Andy had said that he had a dinner with John Mayer and the three of them.

5:34Jackie Oshry:Which is really crazy.

5:35Claudia Oshry:And it's like, that's your friend, Austin and Craig. If you're having dinner with Andy and John Mayer, just be friends. It's better for your lives to be friends.

5:43Jackie Oshry:And I feel like Andy going out to dinner with Bravo Leberties is kind of a big deal. And then let alone introducing them to John Mayer is such a big deal. because he's always maintained this level of like... By the way, John Mayer is Shep. By the way... Shep of the South. Are we going to talk about Leah McSweeney? No. You know her lawsuit against Andy is actually... It's going well for her. Yeah. Andy tried to get it thrown out. And I think that if she has some sort of win, it might be a big deal for Andy.

6:08Claudia Oshry:It's going to be like a public trial. Right. He had tried to get it thrown out.

6:13Jackie Oshry:He had tried to get it like a million things. And the judge was like, no. So it's going to trial is the news. Yeah. Leah released a statement like very excited yeah so

6:20Claudia Oshry:I'm sure we'll hear a lot about it in the next few weeks and months

6:24Jackie Oshry:oh all's that to say like Andy so favors the men Bravo Leberties like taking them out to dinner with John Mayer like he would never take Dorit to dinner with John Mayer you know

6:31Claudia Oshry:never he would never take like three like eligible women who would love to meet John Mayer

6:34Jackie Oshry:and Southern Charm like Housewives is like a very high tier in Andy's universe but like Southern Charm is considered I think one of like the younger shows like he would never take Madison LaCroix no I just want to say having a baby at the exact same time as Madison LaCroix it's like one of the worst things that ever happened to me weight obsessed but in a positive way like she's always trying to like she's actually actively like getting to her go so she was talking she was talking like a couple of months ago she's only like seven pounds away I'm like oh my god I hate this woman and then yesterday she was talking about how like somebody called her Kelly Osbourne and how it's like the biggest compliment she's ever gotten like eight months postpartum and I was like I need to unfollow you like I really need

7:06Claudia Oshry:to unfollow no I love her last night in the season finale she had her baby and she brought Teddy home I saw the clip on TikTok and she was in the coup for 10 weeks so it was like extra sweet and you know her older son Hudson I forget how old he is but he's like a little boy teenager not a preteen he's a preteen and he's holding Teddy and her whole family's there and like it was so serious like I I want to do it all again so I actually saw that clip my eyes are tingling

7:31Jackie Oshry:I saw the clip and I also got emotional at like because I saw that Hudson like she she came home and Hudson was at home and I was like oh I wonder who he's staying with it was like her mom and her sister and it was like my takeaway was like obviously it's great that she had a baby like Like family's everything. You know what I mean? Like she probably had to be in the NICU for like two weeks. Who's going to stay at home and watch her son, her first love? And it's like your mom and your sister. Yeah.

7:49Claudia Oshry:That's what I was saying.

7:50Jackie Oshry:And Hudson's dad's also in the picture.

7:51Claudia Oshry:So like she has flexibility there, I'm sure. But it was just like so beautiful. She's so happy to be a mom. And she is like so funny because she obviously like got pregnant. I don't want to say big in her pregnancy. That's what she said. But like she's just pregnant. She was like so beautiful the whole season. The looks were saying. And I remember following her on social media. And like she gave herself grace until she didn't. You know what? And then at the reunion next week in the preview, she's like, I'm back at my fighting weight. I have to unfollow her. Like, I really do. No, but it's an inspiration.

8:19Claudia Oshry:It is. Especially for someone who, like, actually, like, you know, put on the weight. Yeah. And then took it off. Some people, like, don't put on a lot of weight. And I like following those people, too, because I'm like, well, that's magical.

Read the full transcript

8:28Jackie Oshry:No, it gives hope that, like, maybe it could happen to us one day.

8:31Claudia Oshry:Yeah, it's just, like, a fun, aspirational. Yeah. But no, someone who, like, put on the weight and then took it off, did the work. Like, that's motivational.

8:38Jackie Oshry:I need to find some influencers who put on the weight and didn't lose it. Like just so I can feel less alone. Because I know it happens to like normal people all the time. I would say it's the more common outcome. Yeah, I need to talk to those people. But maybe you are that influencer for someone. Okay, great. But like even heroes need heroes, you know? I need someone to look up to. And you are losing weight. So like you've left your people in the dust. I am. But like I'm also like really struggling. Like with finding my right dose. I'm in the process of switching. I haven't actually even switched yet.

9:06Jackie Oshry:It's just like a whole thing. So like I'm kind of gaining weight. It's just like, it's not easy. Gaining weight as you switch? Well, actually, sorry. I haven't even weighed myself. I just have a feeling. I had like 1 ,100 pretzel rods before bed last night.

9:17Claudia Oshry:I haven't weighed myself in weeks. But the jeans that I wear still fit. So like that's good. Works for me. Yeah, until I'm off the clock, you know. Another couple weeks. Ben got back from New York very late last night. And then what's it called? What's that TikTok sound? Care to be sick of me? No, like. It's over for you bitches? No, and it's not. I just gave you two really good options. No, no, no. And it's not the one like she's back, but it's game time. What's that one? Like Nicki Minaj. It's game time, bitches.

9:45Jackie Oshry:I love it. I'm not familiar, but it's game. Sounds right. Bitches. It is game tunes. Ben returned back from New York last night with a camera roll full of vlog content. 10:29Claudia Oshry:on the inside and the outside it was a very exciting day yesterday for the spritz family Spritz S. Kiehl's. For the Spritz family, aka our family. Yeah. Well, no, we have a lot of, like, partners, and we bring in a lot of, like, community.

10:41Jackie Oshry:We're on the Inc. 500 female founders list. Yeah.

10:43Claudia Oshry:Oh, my God. Speaking

10:45Jackie Oshry:of female founders, please tell me we're talking about Megan.

10:48Claudia Oshry:Yes.

10:48Jackie Oshry:Oh, okay. I won't bring it up now. No, no, no.

10:50Claudia Oshry:Well, now we kind of have to get into it. But it was a big week for Spritz between the founders being on the Inc. 500 list and Kiehl's. Everyone's sort of, like, talking about Spritz, so

10:58Jackie Oshry:check it out. And they're actually, like, this was, like, a really fun collab. Like, it's a limited edition. It won't be here forever it's not being sold at target by the way a lot of people ask me that it's just online um so get it before they sell out but this isn't actually like our big reveal like our big our big not collab sorry our big launch is i don't actually know what it is it's in a couple of weeks and it will reshape everything it's going to change everything oh i also i had an idea for

11:24Claudia Oshry:spritz that i need to tell that and i just came to me he's going to be so excited i know but i knew he was like really busy yesterday so i just wanted to like get him at a good time he's gonna Okay, so that will be a good time to tell him my, it's not a business idea, it's like an idea for Spritz. Like a product idea? A product idea. He's going to freak that you have an idea.

11:40Jackie Oshry:No, he likes it. He's always like wanting us to have ideas and we're just like, we don't have ideas.

11:45Claudia Oshry:The thing is when he like sits me down and is like, give me an idea. I'm not an idea on the spot kind of gal. No, me neither. But you know, after drinking my Pardy beverage yesterday of Spritz at Seals, I had a thought. You have to share it with him. Okay, I'll tell you after. He's going to freak. Oh, okay. 15:23Jackie Oshry:Now available at Target and HEB. So we know Taylor Farms. We love their chopped salad kits. Everybody knows. And I love this new line because protein is definitely having a moment. If you're going to eat a salad like you might as well make it worth your while. Get everything you need for the day in one bag. So instead of tossing protein on top, Taylor Farms got creative. They added protein-boosted dressings, extra cheese where it counts, crunchy toppings with protein built in, multiple protein sources working together like whey, dairy wheat, chickpeas, and more. So the powerhouse lineup includes chopped salad kits with up to 21 grams of protein, which is about two times the protein of their current chopped salad kits.

15:56Jackie Oshry:Complete salad bowls with up to 23 grams of protein and the mini salad kits, which is the perfect portion for a gallon to go. Now pack 10 grams of protein. So this is a really inspired development over at Taylor Farms. I want to say the product development team is kind of doing the most. And I appreciate that. As always, Taylor Farms, pre-wash, pre-chop, so easy, ready to eat out of the bag. If you want to eat out of the bag, you can also put it in a bowl if you feel like it. They're now available at Target and HEB. The new line is called the Protein Power Line. Make sure to try it in some iconic flavors like Southwest, Green Goddess, Caesar, of course.

16:25Jackie Oshry:Now available at Target and HEB. Thank you, Taylor Farms, for sponsoring today's episode. Thank you, Turt Farms.

16:31Claudia Oshry:You're welcome. Our first story, as we were just discussing, so let's bump it to the top, is Meghan Markle being slammed for sky high price of luxury retreat in Australia. So Meghan Markle is set to be the VIP guest to headline a women's retreat in Australia for the podcast Her Best Life. Podcast host Jackie O. Henderson. It's her retreat. You're fucking kidding. Of Kyle and Jackie O. Former Kyle and Jackie O. Jackie O. Henderson. Not me, you guys. and Gemma O 'Neill have recruited Megan to lead the event, which will focus on, quote, powerful conversations, relaxation, laughter, and unforgettable experiences.

17:09Claudia Oshry:It sounds like Cam Toast. Attendees can become a part of the VIP experience for roughly$2 ,288, or they can lock down early bird tickets for$1 ,930.

17:20Jackie Oshry:So that doesn't get you like the second row seating with Megan and the group photo with Megan. Yes. The highest tier.

17:24Claudia Oshry:Gemma revealed she'd be interviewing Megan as part of the event. According to her, Megan became involved in the event as a favor to a mutual friend, but noted that she really loves what our community is about. The biggest moment of the weekend, a gala dinner, was billed as an in-person conversation with Megan. VIP guests will be allowed to partake in a group photo with the Duchess of Sussex and will also receive a goodie bag plus access to an ocean view hotel room. One royal expert said the event offers a rare chance to see a more personal side of the Duchess.

17:53Jackie Oshry:Okay. The first person I thought of when I heard this was Taylor Schrecker. Do you know that Taylor Strucker was fired from Sirius XM for like putting on an event like this? Like where it's like a girl's getaway and it's like kind of expensive, but all in like you're kind of getting a good price for the hotel or whatever. Oh, my God. I was cracking up. I actually meant to call her yesterday to talk to her about it. Obviously, this is an extremely low row thing. Like this is insane. Yeah.

18:17Jackie Oshry:I don't really know what to say besides that. You know, that kind of like is all there is to say.

18:23Claudia Oshry:I'm trying to understand the structure of it because at first, like, it seemed like she's selling tickets to come and meet her. And it's like her. Which is misleading. Which is misleading. But I don't know if that's actually worse than what it is. Other people are making money off of her taking. Well, do you think she's not being paid? She's getting paid. But, like, she needed that lump sum. And these people can, like, go out and be like, hey, take a picture with Megan.

18:45Jackie Oshry:So they're going to Australia. Like, literally the furthest possible place you could go from the States. I think to, like, sort of. Drum up some support. No. And I'm using this word twice, but like to sort of obfuscate like the criticism that's coming. Like they can't do anything now in America. Like people are, the way they were obsessed with them, like now it's really turning out. Do you think they're going to become like Australian superstars? I think they think if they go to Australia, maybe not superstars, but they could like, you know, get some good press, make a little bit of money. And like out of the, you know, sight of American media and American critics.

19:16Jackie Oshry:But like we're following. Like we know, I'm sure she thought this would event with like some random women's luncheon in Australia. Yeah, I don't think she thought anyone would care about the random women's weekend. So she can make this like, you know, 100 grand, whatever they're going to pay her, pocket that change and make the trip a little bit more worthwhile, you know.

19:33Claudia Oshry:So you think they're just like, you know, getting into a new market in Australia?

19:38Jackie Oshry:No, no, no, not new market. I don't think they care about like becoming famous in Australia. I think they like need to do stuff, need to make money and they really can't do it in America right now.

19:45Claudia Oshry:They've also like really tapped out in the American market. Like they've gotten money from everyone. Yeah. The well sort of dried up.

19:53Jackie Oshry:Or maybe because they are like these ex royals and they do like she still calls herself the Duchess. You know how part of being a royal is like you go on royal tours. Like you go to the different parts of the Commonwealth. Australia is the Commonwealth, right? So maybe this is like their version of a mini tour. But like they can't really get a lot of gigs. So they're getting paid. Like they're putting together their own tour. Yeah. And it sucks because like the opportunities where the real royals actually go there. Like they can't do the royal stops.

20:18Claudia Oshry:And the royal tour.

20:19Jackie Oshry:They have to speak at the women's luncheon.

20:20Claudia Oshry:The royals don't get paid to go on tour. They probably pay for it. Well, but it generates like a lot of revenue for the palace. It's good. It's all goodwill. They're doing their own tour, but they're trying to get paid. They're like going on tour.

20:32Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And I think that the opportunities to do a tour in a country that actually has royal tours, like there aren't a lot. Interesting. Just a guess. I mean, I actually don't know.

20:42Claudia Oshry:I don't know either, but I do think it's true. Like the wells have dried up here. There's really not much more money for them in America. Yeah. between like corporations and consumers. Like we've given all we can. I think they also have like a little bit tapped out on Canada because they sort of used Canada. If I were Canada, I would feel used by the Sussexes.

21:01Jackie Oshry:It's that, but it's also the fact that they're, Canada's really close. Like we share a lot of media, like when things happen in Canada, people, all the Canadians know what's going on in America. They're kind of obsessed with us. Like it's a shared culture. Don't you feel like North America? This is, they went to the farthest place they could think of. And I don't think that that I think that that's intentional. Yeah. Yeah. Thinking they can get away with whatever and like American media wouldn't pay attention. They were not expecting this poster to have gone so viral on the Internet. Once that poster hit the Internet, the entire trip is pointless.

21:32Jackie Oshry:Yeah.

21:33Claudia Oshry:I feel bad in the sense that like what they were trying to do backfired. You know, that's just like, yeah, I feel bad for someone who's planned backfired.

21:41Jackie Oshry:I think it's crazy to spend upwards of three grand for a group photo. who cares like somebody I have a group photo who cares I have a group photo with Leonardo DiCaprio that's true but it's it would be like a large group photo yeah it's like everyone who bought that tier yeah like that sucks it looks like a class photo more like but I guess if it's all

22:00Claudia Oshry:like business women and they're surrounded it's like the other people there like you know it's about the other people in the photo too you know it's like we just look like a bunch of women who are here by our own accord not that we paid for it what do you think the royals should do

22:14Jackie Oshry:Oh, I think they're cackling. No, I'm sorry. I don't know why I said the Royals. I meant Meghan and Harry. Like, what is the right next step? Because they do want privacy, but they do need to earn a living. I don't think that they have enough money. I think all of this, everything is motivated by money. I think they live a very, you know, high.

22:29Claudia Oshry:But I also think, like, Meghan likes going to stuff where people, like, are going to love her. And if people are paying to see her, like, that's a very comfortable environment for her. And that's a fun weekend for Meghan. Yeah. Like, hey, everybody. How's everybody doing? But I don't think she's going to have fun.

22:43Jackie Oshry:I think like this is a business trip.

22:45Claudia Oshry:No, but it feels good as opposed to walking into rooms and going to award ceremonies and events where it's like, what are, how do people feel about her? What are they saying about her? Like, I think this is actually like a very pleasant experience for her.

22:55Jackie Oshry:But I mean more so like zoomed out. Like what should their next, like nothing they do now is going to satiate quite literally anyone. But they do need to work. They don't have enough money. I don't even know if they could. But like, should they return to the royal family? I don't even know if that's an option.

23:11Claudia Oshry:but Eugenie and Beatrice like our well I guess we need members we need working members but we did even when they left and Prince Andrew was already immersed in scandal when they left and they left like when we needed them no we I'm not a part of this family right when they needed them and then like Charles got sick Kate got sick and they weren't there Lizzie passed away of course and now they're Phillip they're cobbling together you know they're back and so now you're going to come back. I know. And they finally have bounced back from the bad PR of Meghan and Harry and everything that they said about them.

23:44Claudia Oshry:Oh my god, I would never take them back. No, of course. Just because that's us as human beings. But there's an institution. I think they're bad for the institution. Affirm. They're bad for the institution. And so they could leave again? I think they are bad for the institution. They would come back and they would leave again.

23:56Jackie Oshry:It's so settled now. The best thing is for it to not.

24:01Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I mean, I think that if money is an issue, which I can't imagine it's such an issue. Like he has like an inheritance and they got like$20 million here and$20 million there. So they got like. But then they like bought a$20 million house. And they could live like a little smaller if they needed to. Definitely. Like a little bit smaller. And I think like going back to acting for her like isn't the worst idea.

24:23Jackie Oshry:It's kind of a no brainer because people don't seem to like her. But the thing about acting is that you pretend to be someone else.

24:28Claudia Oshry:And people liked her as an actress. Yeah. They really did. They loved Rachel.

24:32Jackie Oshry:What sort of project though? Like it's, she's so recognized. She's almost like too famous to act.

24:38Claudia Oshry:It would have to be like something really incredible, like a really great script. I'm telling you, she's about to release original music. Like that's like we're scraping. No, she's about to be on Real Housewives.

24:47Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Honestly, even Real Housewives don't do these types of events. Like these girls weekend getaways where you pay$6 ,000. Like, yeah.

24:54Claudia Oshry:No, it's really crazy that you could have every opportunity and fumble it. And fail. Yeah. And they have like a lot of powerful friends. Like, why won't someone put her in a movie? Bezos. Tyler Perry.

25:10Jackie Oshry:Yes. I forgot that he housed them. Yeah. But also, were they at the Bezos wedding? Because there are a couple of, like, social blind spots for them. Like, why aren't they tight with the Obamas? Why aren't they tight with Kris Jenner? They were at the party. They were at the birthday party. Who was? Meghan and Harry. Remember the pictures? Oh, yeah. But I don't think that means they're close. I think now the Kardashians probably hate them. But they got invited to the party. Yeah, yeah, fine, fine. Bowie hates them.

25:36Claudia Oshry:We know that. Yes.

25:37Jackie Oshry:Why aren't they friends with the Bezoses? Like, there are a couple of, like, things that make me very suspicious of them socially. Like, I do think they've moved to Montecito, that whole fabulous crew, Ellen.

25:46Claudia Oshry:They've sort of, like, blown through friends and business. They must be, like, the worst. Yeah. It's really crazy. Like, imagine having, like, a Netflix show and Netflix wants to give you a line of product and, like, all you have to do is, like, decent job. Be endearing, yeah. you get this whole house with its own farm and all your famous friends and Mindy Kaling and famous chefs are coming to teach you and like everyone has a show and get and like can keep it

26:10Jackie Oshry:going someone in this lifetime that I actually trust implicitly is Mindy Kaling I would love to know because they had that awkward moment being like it's so funny that you call me Megan Markle I would people made so much of that moment I don't know if you watch it like Mindy was like shook like I would love to know what Mindy thinks you know behind closed doors like does she still hang with Mindy. I don't think they ever really hung. You know, I think she got the opportunity. Maybe they had met a couple of times. And of course you take that opportunity. But I can see Mindy like really not liking her.

26:37Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I think they really need to lay low and do the thing they said they were going to do, which is the privacy. But no, spend a couple G's to come and take pictures with me. That's privacy. It's just like it's so lowbrow. No, it's really like everything they said was a lie. Everything.

26:54Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah.

26:56Claudia Oshry:Because they had enough money to not have to If they lived a very small private life. Not plenty of very small. His inheritance is like over$20 million.

27:04Jackie Oshry:Not like not living in, first of all, the most expensive neighborhood in the country. They live in Montecito. People are giving them houses. Right. Tyler Perry litter gave them a house. Not like you don't need if you're not like a public figure, you don't need stylists. You don't need glam. You don't need publicists. You don't need agents. You don't need all these things like you can really. She probably still needed like a publicist. But you know what I mean?

27:25Claudia Oshry:Yeah. No. a very small life. They have means. Him from his mom. Yeah. And then her from a successful acting career. Yeah. And if they had just made themselves a little more scarce, you know, it wouldn't be three grand for a meet and greet. It'd be like ten. Fifty. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? Yeah. Alex Warren's on Call Her Daddy talking about the Grammy's malfunction. Oh my gosh. Alex Warren. Like my heart breaks. Your boyfriend. He's, I wouldn't call him my boyfriend because I don't feel like I have a crush on him. Like I look at him like a son. Your brother. son.

27:58Jackie Oshry:He's like a son to me. So beautiful.

28:01Claudia Oshry:Also, you know what? I discovered a new artist who I think is like very much in the zeitgeist and Lombard Gen Z. No, not somber. Even though I like that song. Me too. No, Sienna Spiro. Yes. And I like blame all of you bitches and you and Margo. Like, why didn't anyone tell me? I had to find her on my own. I didn't know that you needed to be told about like literally the biggest song in the world. no no one i know nothing could matter so good so good so i saw a video of her like just singing on my instagram so i now in my car like i went to sienna spiro and i listened to a bunch of songs and i was like you fucking bitches didn't tell me she's amazing we didn't realize and i think i speak for margo as well like we didn't realize like how i needed an invitation how little you knew i needed an invitation because it's not just that one song she's very like gen z amy winehouse Adele.

28:54Claudia Oshry:And that's really seems to be a theme. It's not just that one song. Like Olivia Dean and Ray and like this seems to be like a new genre. It's kind of, it's not a new genre. No, no. It's like mostly British. It seems to be not, it's always been a genre. That is really popular right now and I'm like, I love this. And a lot of it's coming out of the UK. You gotta go to the UK. Like you would thrive. I know there's so many things. The palace of course. Yeah, the history, you know, that's really my concentration. Yeah, of course. Is English history. Downton. Downton. I'd like to see Downton. I feel like maybe it would like destroy that.

29:26Jackie Oshry:Yeah, it would be like crusty and old. I actually follow Downton the castle. Yeah. Because it's like a working castle.

29:32Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And I will say the magic is gone. Yeah. Oh, speaking of Julian Fellows, I sent you this yesterday. Gilded Age is casting for a newborn baby.

29:41Jackie Oshry:Yeah. So people are like guessing in their comments that it's Gloria's. Oh, like the daughters like got married. Oh, I was just saying if you want your baby on Gilded Age. It's insane. They're they're casting a newborn to five month old. Like I can't like That's insane. You should do it. Do it. You could be like those people from the Valley, Danny and Nia. $300 a day. It was eight hours for a baby for$350.

30:05Claudia Oshry:That's insane. Seriously, at that point. Do you think maybe it was$350 an hour? No. It didn't say that.

30:09Jackie Oshry:Yes, it said$350 slash eight hours for your baby to be tortured. Don't do it, guys.

30:15Claudia Oshry:Oh, my God. Don't do it. But if you really want your baby to be on the Gilded Age, I guess here's your chance.

30:20Jackie Oshry:Like of all the places that your baby could be, it's kind of an amazing place.

30:25Claudia Oshry:Like it was kind of an incredible thing to see. Like you can have your baby be on the gilded age.

30:30Jackie Oshry:Well, that's what I learned from Danny and Nia from the Valley that they, their twins are the twins on Young Sheldon.

30:37Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And because they're in the business, like Danny has been an actor his entire life. Like it's less odd to me. Like he knows the sets. He knows the schedule. Like, you know, let's go baby. Like, yeah. But like, I don't know. It's really crazy. But when I see like really little babies on TV, I'm always thinking like, who the fuck would do that?

30:58Jackie Oshry:And then I met two people on the valley. Yeah. Who do it? I think it's so crazy. I think they're not busy enough. In the age of like CGI and AI, I really feel like it's eliminated the need for baby actors. Well, but then they get clowned on. Like remember in American Sniper, he was holding a doll. And that's why it's one of my favorite movies, because they didn't abuse a child just for a scene. And when you think about like birthing scenes and there's like babies covered, do they like cover newborn babies in like paint? I don't know. I don't know. When you think about it, it's really dark. And I just feel like I would rather watch a movie that has like some of the shittiest AI baby versus like the cutest real life baby.

31:36Jackie Oshry:Like leave the babies alone, actually.

31:38Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Where are they getting these babies? Like who's doing that? And what new mama is like subjecting herself to a day on set? It's not enough. And it should be the most overpaid job. The highest paid person on set.

31:50Jackie Oshry:Let me see. Hold on. What's$350 divided by eight? Divided by eight or times eight? Divided by eight. It's$44 an hour. Like, I'm sorry.

31:58Claudia Oshry:That's not enough. Can you do it by times eight to see if maybe it's for eight hours? If it was$350 an hour.

32:03Jackie Oshry:That would be almost three grand. But I'm letting you know. I'll pull up the poster right now. It was not.

32:07Claudia Oshry:I could see people doing that for three grand. That seems not possible.

32:11Jackie Oshry:Okay, if you have twins, you get$500 for eight hours. It's literally$500-8HRS. If you have one baby, it's$350. So you're getting, like, shafted if you have twins because you're not even getting double. Yeah, it's a discount. But I guess each baby gets tortured half the time.

32:29Claudia Oshry:It's a discount. Or unless they needed twins for the scene.

32:33Jackie Oshry:They're casting for twins and single babies. Yeah. To portray newborn. Oh, my God. That's insane. really really crazy I'm gonna start a charity where like if you're thinking about doing this like I'll just give you the 350 like it's really not it's not worth it I can't I really have to

32:50Claudia Oshry:believe in my heart that it's the three grand because that like it's not I I just it's I'm just telling you it's not like I'm I just read the poster like no but I think maybe we're

32:59Jackie Oshry:misunderstanding can you read the comments so funny I went to the comments like looking for people enraged it was just like tagging their friends oh no somebody but somebody commented This is obviously a new comment. That rate is so low for babies. In eight hours, baby under six months are only allowed to be on set for two hours and work 20 minutes. Oh, I didn't know that. I guess that's like the SAG rule. Yeah. Yeah, they're paying even less for twins. Absurd. My baby is a legitimate professional newborn actress. Her rate usually starts at$1 ,200 for two hours gross minus agent fees. It's sad when production companies try to hire talent direct and underbid their worth to save money.

33:35Claudia Oshry:I don't understand how a woman who has a two month old, like already has all of this in place. Okay. Well now, like not only just is her baby two months now, but she's two months postpartum. Now I'm on the page of a woman. With the agents.

33:48Jackie Oshry:This is my baby's rate. Now I'm on the page of a woman. The woman who says she has a professional acting newborn. The newborn also has an Instagram page, but it's private. It just says like model and actress, model and actress. And the baby was born 1226. so that's a three month old baby what

34:07Claudia Oshry:and so did she decide that her baby was going to be an actress before the baby was born or she met the baby and was like you've got

34:14Jackie Oshry:I don't want to be really judgmental

34:20Claudia Oshry:but I'm judging I'm like letting you know we're not we sound judgmental no but I think I can own that I think I'm going to own that one agreed that's really crazy yeah anyways Alex Warren is opening up about his tech malfunction at the ground oh right sorry he's like a brother I was just like a son to me and then I just wanted to let everyone know like I've discovered Sienna Spiro like oh no thanks to any of you and I'm really like having a renaissance with the music of this generation like my son Alex Warren right so he was on call her daddy and he talked about the Grammys which we all saw there was sound malfunctions he looked like he was gonna cry and he's explaining what happened like how bad it was and like seriously how horrified he was.

35:03Claudia Oshry:So he said, I've never talked about this. It was horrifying. I like who he says, I've never talked about it. It happened a week ago. I thought the same thing.

35:08Jackie Oshry:Like what opportunities have you turned down? Seriously, like stop, don't clown on my phone. Sorry, sorry. No, I love your son. He's a great man. And he obviously gets his singing abilities from his auntie.

35:19Claudia Oshry:He said, we rehearsed it all week. He said that everything went perfect while practicing. And to this day, I don't know exactly what happened. He explained that very shortly before his turn in the Best New Artist performance medley, something happened and everything cut out in his in-ear devices. There were like 30 seconds. And I said, I can't hear anything. I can't hear myself. And the guy's like, it's live TV, 25 seconds. And I go, guys, something's wrong. Something that's blasted into the left ear and right ear, I hear nothing. And I go, guys, I can't hear. The technical difficulties persisted, which he accepted where it just meant to happen.

35:48Claudia Oshry:Crew members tried fixing the issue by changing the volume, but it didn't work. He said, I start singing and all I'm hearing is what's from the other room, like a crowd mic is on or something. Once I start getting into the hallway, there's this hallway in the performance. I get the left ear blasting again. And so it's just the left ear. He then said that the audio in his ears was mono rather than stereo and therefore difficult to hear. There's no mix to it. So all I'm hearing is my voice super loud. I get down to the steps and then immediately I start hearing echoing on the right ear. So I take it out.

36:14Claudia Oshry:And then that made it worse. Stupidly. He said when he reached the stage, his in-ear devices started working correctly again. When we rehearsed it, they weren't expecting 20 ,000 phones to be on and everyone was filming. And so the RF cut it out. And then once I got to the stage, because there's two fins I would assume once we got to the stage I got it back I don't understand that I don't know

36:33Jackie Oshry:he had 30 seconds to go and he told them what was wrong and like it sounds like no one was taking

36:36Claudia Oshry:him seriously yeah maybe um so I guess something he was trying to say that like all the phones in the arena like blocked the signal they were on the whole time they worked for everybody else but he was also starting his performance in a hallway where you know if it's like made of concrete harder to get a signal but he practiced in a hallway but he didn't practice in the hallway with the 20 ,000 phones um but then it came back he's being hella gracious I would be fucking pissed He also said that he has a few fights and then he, like, put up. I get up on that thing. And so he didn't love that. But by then it was working and then he just wanted to cry, but he didn't want to cry on live TV.

37:06Claudia Oshry:And I think he handled it well because, like, we knew he was disappointed. I'm glad that, like, we knew that. But I'm glad that he didn't completely break down. He also couldn't have stopped singing. Like, right. And been like, this doesn't work. I mean, I kind of would have done that. I know you would have emotionally, but it would be so unprofessional. Yeah, yeah. It's better to have a bad performance than to be like. Than no performance. Yeah. Yeah. he handled it really as best as he could

37:29Jackie Oshry:so so sad I'm glad he's like finally talking about this you know I feel like so like I just I've been like dying here for a moment

37:36Claudia Oshry:he posted a TikTok the next day I'm kidding I'm kidding

37:38Jackie Oshry:oh yeah you're so out of the loop but also like he's like I've never talked about this before yeah because it happened last week excuse me sorry I know that's your son I would never disrespect

37:48Claudia Oshry:like stop he's opening up he's sharing and I feel really bad for him but like he'll be okay you know then he obviously didn't win best new artist and he was bummed about it but we know that it's a

38:00Jackie Oshry:curse so yeah I would actually be happy to win even though I am worried for Olivia Dean I know even though she's crushing it do you know her new song it's a Q-Lab with Sam Fender called rain me in no I didn't know okay I think you'd like it so this is me telling you and I also

38:11Claudia Oshry:blame Spotify our partners at Spotify because my release radar I don't feel is doing like the most

38:19Jackie Oshry:amazing job keeping me abreast got it okay so if you want to jot this down it's called rain me in

38:23Claudia Oshry:let me you know i'll play on my phone so when i get in my car it starts playing

38:27Jackie Oshry:that's a nice it's going viral on the talk right now like the like r-e-i-n

38:31Claudia Oshry:oh interesting because i would have thought it was like raindrops no like to rain someone in yeah yeah r-e-i-n sorry i said r-e-i-g-n there's a lot of ways to spell rain okay i like sam fender too yeah i know that's like my elk of music you're british i'm british you are British maybe I'm British I'm Latina like remember how like we said like in a past life yes you're like King Henry's little brother yeah

39:02Jackie Oshry:and you're Queen Anne whatever her name was I'm King Henry's little sister literally I don't get it I don't get the joke you don't remember

39:16Claudia Oshry:like I don't know how no I remember like

39:18Jackie Oshry:vaguely this conversation like from like

39:20Claudia Oshry:eight years ago that we said that in a past life you're King Henry's little brother. I'm like why did we say that? I don't know but it feels right. Okay. And if I'm British and I'm your sister that means I'm King Henry's little sister.

39:33Jackie Oshry:I more so like don't understand why it's so funny. Do you know what I mean? Like usually we're cracking up together like I don't get it.

39:39Claudia Oshry:Sound up in the comments.

39:40Jackie Oshry:Is that funny? Yeah.

39:45Claudia Oshry:Oh we always had the best time.

39:52Claudia Oshry:Oh, British.

39:53Jackie Oshry:I forgot I'm like doing stuff.

39:54Claudia Oshry:Oh, you want to do the ads? We only just did the second story. Oh. Actually, the third story is like really light and really funny. So I'll just get to it. Yeah. Carla Sophia Gascon is trolling Timothee Chalamet.

40:05Jackie Oshry:Throwback to Carla Sophia Gascon. I, there was a time, and this is what's so crazy, like sort of the key asylum kind of in caps. It's crazy how there's like a period where we are talking about somebody every single day. and I swear to God if you didn't bring this up I never would have heard that name ever again.

40:22Claudia Oshry:No, I know. And also, but that was also by design because she was canceled. Yeah, I don't know if you guys remember Carlos Sofia Gascon

40:27Jackie Oshry:was kind of a trailblazer. She was a actress. The star of Amelia Perez. In Amelia Perez, yes. She's trans and so like she was sort of like In the movies about trans surgery. She was like an eight girl. Penis to vagina. Vagina to penis.

40:40Claudia Oshry:No, it's about a trans drug lord, right?

40:42Jackie Oshry:Yeah, but not even drug lord, like a cartel.

40:44Claudia Oshry:A cartel leader that then is trans.

40:46Jackie Oshry:Who takes off his glasses and realizes he's trans. Like it's the craziest fucking movie ever. Like literally the craziest movie I've ever seen. It's a musical too. It's a musical. And like they literally sing about vagina to penis, penis to vagina. I'm not making that up. That's an actual song. And they literally sing labiaplasty in the song. Yeah. The song is called, if you want to listen to it, it's on Spotify called it. It's called vaginaplasty. It's a literal train act. Oh, I think it's like, it's all in Spanish. Selena Gomez is in it.

41:11Claudia Oshry:Selena Gomez is in it. That's the other part. And Carla Sofia Gascon. Oh, and Zoe Saldana, like won everything. She's the star. Yeah. Yeah.

41:21Jackie Oshry:And during the awards season, when she was like, seriously, the girl of Hollywood. The bell of the ball. They found her old tweets. It's seriously just like a tale as old as time. And then she was never to be seen again. Yeah. But now I guess she's popping up.

41:34Claudia Oshry:Literally everyone coming out of the woodwork to cancel Timothy Chalmers. And the old tweets came up before the Oscars. So she was still at the Oscars, but totally hidden. Oh, yeah. And she was pretending that those tweets didn't exist. Yeah. It was just over for her before it even started. And so she is finding a parallel in what Timothy's going through right now. And she posted a meme saying, oh, like her and Timothy on the phone. I guess that was like a funny meme. Like he's calling her for advice. Oh, funny. And she said, Hola, Carla. Do you think they're going to make me pass the red carpet at the Oscars?

42:10Claudia Oshry:Laughing emojis. Oh, I guess that's what happened to her. And then she said, Are you a trans woman? then don't worry about it, Tim. Even though I don't think that's what happened here. I don't think they kicked her off the red carpet because she was trans. Or that she got a harsher punishment because she was trans. No, because she really was like the bell of the ball. If anything, it was probably very hard for them to silo her. Which is more offensive. I feel like... And she said, besides, I love ballet slippers and I've seen the Phantom of the Opera 10 times. Not sure if that counts for anything.

42:39Claudia Oshry:Best of luck with the awards. So she's like... So sweet, honestly. Growing salt. No, she's like, I love the ballet.

42:45Jackie Oshry:I guess what she's saying, I guess she sees her situation mirrored in his because he's up for an Oscar. But this isn't a real scandal. Like, he didn't say it's not a real scandal.

42:54Claudia Oshry:She thinks that he's going to be treated like totally fine because he's not a trans woman. And she was, you know, thrown in the corner because she's a trans woman, not because of the tweet.

43:04Jackie Oshry:And this is one of those situations where, like, if you don't, you know, the Timothy scandal, but you haven't seen the interview. Like, if you now go watch it, it will seem like so not a big deal. And it's so funny because people don't actually know what he said. I was watching this like actually terrible take on TikTok today of like a girl talking about like her take and being like, and Timothy said like that ballet and opera is dead. That's actually not what he said. He just says nobody cares. So it's like people don't even know what he actually said. They're all just like giving their takes on opera and Broadway.

43:29Jackie Oshry:I mean, excuse me, and ballet. And like, where were your takes before this? Like you're not a true supporter of the arts.

43:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I also feel like the way that this tweet is written from Carla Sophia Instagram story, it's giving like Real Housewife. And I feel like I could see her on The Real Housewives, you know? I just want to say I would love. Like the way that she's talking, it's like, what are you saying?

43:48Jackie Oshry:The Carla that we were seeing before she was like actually escorted out of the awards, she was like funny and kind of crazy and just like really giving like. Is that what we were seeing? Marisol's mom. Mama Elsa. Yeah, but she was giving Mama Elsa just sort of like crazy older woman energy.

44:02Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I could see it. I wonder where she lives. I don't know.

44:05Jackie Oshry:She would thrive with The Real Housewives of Miami. Yeah. They always speak Spanish.

44:08Claudia Oshry:She's also acting like she's better than Timothy. Like I love ballet. Like even though you, you know what I mean? I was escorted off the red carpet.

44:15Jackie Oshry:I also love ballet.

44:17Claudia Oshry:I kind of miss her. I know, me too. It's like fun to hear from her.

44:21Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and that was such a crazy awards season.

44:23Claudia Oshry:That was really crazy that that happened because like Amelia Perez was everywhere and then it was like came to a screeching halt.

44:30Jackie Oshry:People are saying that one battle after another is much like Amelia Perez. Like that it's very bad, but you wouldn't know.

44:35Claudia Oshry:People are like, are we talking about the same movie? Well, that's what I feel about Sinners now. Based on, and it's the same thing. I saw, I just, people talk about Amelia Perez, amazing movie. So I was like, amazing movie. I never saw it. I saw it. And then I saw like two or three clips and I was like, whoa. Horrified, yeah. Whoa. And then I saw that one Sinners clip. I would have assumed Sinners was like a good normal movie. Like I wouldn't think anything of it. It's like star studded and it's award nominated. Winning. Great. And I'm like, whoa. Yeah. Whoa, guys. Yeah. Maybe that's just like movies these days.

45:07Claudia Oshry:Are just bad.

45:08Jackie Oshry:No, like. poorly written maybe bad maybe the elk of movies like has changed since we were kids you know in what in what way they're just kind of crazy now like when i watched all the award movies last year which was such a fun thing to do um i couldn't believe that like a nora was the film that watch and people are always like you don't get it i fucking hate when people say that i actually think you don't get it because bad is bad just like people love to say like well you just didn't get it but it also it could have been bad yeah you could have not gotten it and it been bad no i got it but it wasn't that's what but it wasn't bad because you didn't get it and when i just think of like the elk of movies that used to be like when we were growing up i hate to be like a grandma like movies that won all the awards they were like a millionaire slumdog millionaire of course like there are amazing amazing movies titanic titan 12 years of slave you know like They were making real movies.

46:02Jackie Oshry:And then I watched Anora, like this actual student film, Pornography. I'm like, this just won the same award as Titanic. Like, that's insane. Yeah. Insane. And there actually were a couple of movies. I watched them all last year. Like, if they won, I would have understood it. Honestly, a movie that really stuck with me. Conclave. Conclave. So good. Dating apps are basically a social experiment that quite literally nobody consented to. And I think like I speak for all single people when I say it's something that people feel like they have to be on, but it's a really unenjoyable experience.

49:15Jackie Oshry:But in this day and age, it really is one of the most popular ways of meeting people, but it's so hard. It's so unenjoyable. And I think a lot of times like you end up going on dates with people and then they're not even interested in relationships. So it's like, why do you want a dating app if you don't want to date? It's so frustrating. And that's where Upward is totally changing the game. If you're someone who wants commitment, not, you know, let's see where this goes. That's why we love Upward. It's a dating app where faith and values are the starting point. You're meeting people who already care about the big things like family, integrity, commitment.

49:41Jackie Oshry:It's not a jump scare three weeks in when you realize the person you're with is fundamentally incompatible. They don't want to commit and just like seriously confusing you and wasting your time, which is one of the biggest crimes you can do. We love the clarity of upward. You're aligned from the start on core values and then it's dating with intention. You're growing. It's not, you know, this culture is very obsessed with like situationships. We're in a talking stage. We're going to say, just start dating. Okay. Like it's upward is for people who are sound of mind. That's not a talking point that they gave me.

50:07Jackie Oshry:Serious. So whether faith is central to your life or just something that shaped you, upward connects you with people who want the same foundation before things get serious. So if you're done wasting your best outfits and your time on men who don't believe in labels, downward the Upward app and start dating with intention. So Upward, U-P-W-A-R-D. Start dating with intention, especially if faith is a big part of your life. I think you'll really enjoy the process as much as, you know, as much as one could enjoy. Because dating is hard. Upward makes it easy. You okay over there?

50:33Claudia Oshry:Oh, we're all done. I was just refilling my beverage. You like my cute cup? Very cute. I'm in a cute cup mood. Cute cup. Okay, our next story. exciting news. Casey Musgraves announces her new album with Texas Roots coming out on May 1st. So she announced her new studio album. It is called Middle of Nowhere and it is her follow-up album from Deeper Well. Yes. The description for the album notes that it is a collection of songs that draws from a love of Texas, dancehall classics, humorous takes on the human condition, and the space where traditional country borders many sounds including Nortenio and even Zedeko.

51:11Claudia Oshry:She said in a statement announcing the album's release that it was made during the longest period of time that she was single. During that time, she was living between Texas, Tennessee, and Mexico, and the album came out of a lot of time for creative ambling. She said, I became fascinated with the concept of liminal space, both geographical and emotional. We don't linger in these transitional empty spaces long enough and rush to define where or whatever is next.

51:33Jackie Oshry:So I want to say I'm like really open to receiving this album for a multitude of reasons. The description sounds like OG Casey. And a lot of people don't realize, like, I invented Casey Musgraves not only, like, in my family. 100 % don't even try. I was, like, at one point in time. No, no, that's okay.

51:50Claudia Oshry:But, yeah.

51:51Jackie Oshry:At one point in time, like, nobody on the planet was a bigger Casey Musgraves fan than me. And it was, like, fun and exciting when Golden Hour, like, blew up. There were two albums before that. Just, like, people don't know that. They know her from Golden Hour.

52:01Claudia Oshry:If you're really excited about this album, like, you could listen to those, too.

52:04Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and she got, like, all this, like, mainstream success from that. and I do feel like it influenced the type of music she released and I think she went so sideways with Breadwinner. I did not like it. It wasn't for me. Space Cowboy. No, that's Golden Hour. No, it's not.

52:19Claudia Oshry:It is. I don't think it is. No, it is. Hold on. There's an album in between. There's not. Space Cowboy.

52:29Jackie Oshry:Oh, that is, okay. What's the other album? And then right after that was the red one. I think it's called Breadwinner. High Horse.

52:35Claudia Oshry:Is that the name of the album?

52:39Jackie Oshry:that's also on golden hour star crossed that's the album the red one yeah that's breadwinners on that one right that was like the lead wife breadwinner that was all about her divorce that was the album after she had all this mainstream success and i feel like she was making it for like the new fans it was like very much edging out of country and it wasn't for me and i feel like maybe she got like a little swept up and just being the most famous girl in the world i

53:02Claudia Oshry:also think because she was having so much like pop success, Hollywood success, that's where she was spending her time. It was very like LA. She was at the Kardashian Halloween party. Right. So she was making like music for that time in her life, which wasn't the same time that came before nor after.

53:15Jackie Oshry:And so not only was that music like not for her OG fans, I don't even think like her new fans liked it that much. I think that's probably her least commercially successful album. They were fair weather fans, I would say. Yeah. And then she stripped down a little bit. I think she took some time off, did a lot of self-reflection on the Deeper Well album, which is very good. And it's very reflective. So it's kind of like not a sad album, but a deep album.

53:36Claudia Oshry:Yeah, it's a deeper well. Now I feel... And we got songs such as the Grammy winning song, The Architect. And the toasty winning song, The Architect. Like there are some songs on there like The Message is Messaging. And now I feel like she went so far left.

53:49Jackie Oshry:She rebounded. She came back to herself. And now I feel like this album is going to be the most similar to like what she's really known for. She has a song with Miranda Lambert on there. That's kind of the lead story because apparently her Miranda had beef. I didn't know about it. And now we know it's about the song Mama's Broken Heart, which is Miranda Lambert's most successful song ever. And it was actually written by Kacey Musgraves and other songwriters. But Kacey's one of the lead writers on it. And I guess she had plans to keep it for herself. She wasn't an artist yet. She was just like a very successful songwriter for other people.

54:18Jackie Oshry:But she was going to hang on to this one. Somebody sent it to Miranda without telling her. Miranda loved it so much. And Kacey was like, I kind of had to give it to her, like with all the other songwriters. Like, that's how you make your money. I couldn't like screw my fellow songwriters because I wanted to keep this one song and it ended up becoming so big a lot of people made a lot of money off of it and then Casey was like but you know what I wouldn't have done same trailer different park if I had done Mama's Broken Heart so like everything worked out for everybody but she was like she said in an interview she's like I just kind of hated Miranda Lambert because like a little bit of resentment and so they were not friends they weren't like enemies but they like didn't like one another and then when Casey was writing this album she realized like her Miranda kind of on like similar vibes with their like divorces and everything and so she just reached out and was like I have this funny idea for a song.

54:57Jackie Oshry:Would you sing it? And Miranda was down. I think that I would be best friends with Miranda Lambert. And so I'm glad that Casey and her are connecting. And Miranda's very country. Like, she doesn't even bother going pop.

55:06Claudia Oshry:No, and also Willie Nelson is on the album, which, like, if Casey Musgraves isn't, like, doing something with Willie Nelson or talking about him, then she's not Casey Musgraves. Billy Strings, sounds like a country person, and Gregory Allen Isakov. Yeah, no, I'm feeling positive about this. Me as well, because Deeper Well, to me, it wasn't, like, you know, banger season, but it checked all the boxes. It was an amazing album.

55:28Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I do feel like she, like that Grammy was like almost a little bit like a curse for her, you know?

55:33Claudia Oshry:You know what? I think at the time, everyone knew that it was good. I think she probably even, like, because how do you seriously win album of the year for like - As such a small artist. As a small artist and ever match that on the next one? Like you don't. It is going to be like a slump before it gets better. And I feel like everybody knew that was coming.

55:51Jackie Oshry:And also, I think if you're looking at like the country swirlies right now, Like I think for a while, like a couple of years ago, a lot of them ventured into like country pop. And that's where like the success was like the Marin and Kelsey. And now I feel like the girls who are really like killing it in country are really reverting back to like Ella Langley type, like Miranda Lambert type. It's a real like country. And so hopefully she follows that trend a little bit and goes back to her.

56:12Claudia Oshry:It's true. Like some of the country pop, like girlies, like went there and like didn't come back and didn't and nothing really happened over there. I feel like the trends, the same way that like everyone's listening to like this soulful like music right now, like Olivia Dean. And it's like they stop sort of listening to like country girly pop. Not me because I'm a country fan. But like the fair weather fans were like, oh, we like Casey Musgraves and Maren Morris. And now they're like, now we don't.

56:35Jackie Oshry:And I feel like, and not to blame her, but like it's Loki Taylor Swift's fault. Like she had this insane crossover. And I think a lot of people then tried to replicate it with this like fearless type of country girl pop. And a lot of the girlies followed her. And it worked for a while. But now I think like what's popular with women in country is this very like rodeo, Megan Maroney, Ella Langley. like very country. It's very girly country, but it's not pop at all. It's country. Yeah. So hopefully Casey follows suit. I don't think Miranda would sign on to a project that was even remotely pop.

57:02Claudia Oshry:I feel like this is not going to be pop. It's giving like more deeper, well like musings and just sort of like poetry set to music. I could go like a little more upbeat, deeper. like I don't need to like contemplate my entire existence. Every time I listen to the architect, but the architect like was, is one of my favorite songs of all time. I actually forgot about it for a while. like until this conversation I need to go stream the article

57:26Jackie Oshry:it's so good it's so good I'm looking forward to becoming like a huge Casey Musgraves fan again not that I ever like I wasn't a hater or anything I just like wasn't keeping up as much because it really didn't feel like it was for me you felt left behind I did and I really did not like that red album Star Crossed she's coming back for you

57:41Claudia Oshry:yeah she left me behind and don't forget how we felt about Deeper Bell I feel like we already forgot no no no but like like that was her going back to her roots and now I feel like she's gonna like step out a little more, but hopefully not straight too far.

57:55Jackie Oshry:If you're interested in being like a real Casey Musgraves fan, not like a fair weather star crossed fan, I highly recommend listening to Dime Store Cowgirl. Like that song makes me cry every time I hear it. It's so sweet. Like she was just, she's so precious. I'm telling you, I have really high hopes.

58:08Claudia Oshry:Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Somebody got eliminated on the Masked Singer. Masked Singer reveals the identity of high voltage. Yeah, I was like,

58:18Jackie Oshry:you know people have a biological clock? My body knows, it's like Wednesday after nine o 'clock I'm like I have to check the mess singer read it so I actually didn't I picked the

58:25Claudia Oshry:story but I didn't look at who it was until now and you ain't gonna know who it is Alex Lawless Alexi Lawless who is a soccer former soccer player turned Fox sports analyst apparently he's an amazing voice people were really shocked um I don't know who he is so like that's always like not exciting when you don't know the person no that's not exciting at all did people guess this I don't think so I think it's like a hidden talent of his because he's like a soccer player Oh, and he's like. He's handsome. Yeah. Yeah. He's like a dad. Yeah.

58:53Jackie Oshry:Like a daddy or a dad?

58:54Claudia Oshry:No, like a dad. Like he looks like someone's dad. Like father. But I don't know if he has kids.

58:59Jackie Oshry:They're just the woman.

59:03Jackie Oshry:So great job. So today you have your son, Alex Warren, and your dad, Alexie.

59:08Claudia Oshry:No, my dad and my brother, King Henry.

59:11Jackie Oshry:Of course. Of course. It's a family affair today.

59:14Claudia Oshry:How many people are left? I know like I've expected you to know everything about the massacre.

59:18Jackie Oshry:You're the one watching. Like I actually don't know. I know nothing. There's still a lot of people left.

59:23Claudia Oshry:Oh, really? Yeah. I want to say that. I never want. Oh, they guessed Travis Kelsey for him. That's a good guess. Imagine. Imagine. I want to know how many people. Oh, there's still Pangolin, Crane. Crane they're saying is Normani. Oh, my God. It definitely is from the work from home video. Music video. Yeah. like when they were that's what people are saying there's just fucking no way that she so philip

59:50Jackie Oshry:phillips normani like literally all my ops um ashley simpson evan ross i think these are all

59:55Claudia Oshry:guesses i don't know for sure and pangolin was in the bottom two i don't i don't know with high voltage oh here you are in like the roundup oh my god did you see that spencer pratt is like slowly

1:00:07Jackie Oshry:inching up like the recent polls he's only eight points behind karen bass of la isn't that insane I saw the poll this morning. I'm like, there's literally no way. I love it. I know.

1:00:16Claudia Oshry:Now for Southern Charm recap. Oh, right. Yeah. So we're just wrapping up the season. Carolina Day Party, of course. Of course. Hosted by Miss Patricia. And not her house. I wonder whose place that was. It was really nice. So everyone got all dressed up and came to play. Charlie is done with Craig due to what happened on the bus with Sally. However, I don't. And, you know, I love Charlie. Oh, my God. And she looks so garggy at the beginning. I don't like fully endorse the way she went about like ending things with him because she didn't. She just was like, I'm not speaking to him again. Didn't tell him why he was like kind of confused.

1:00:49Claudia Oshry:He's like, we used to talk every day and like now we don't. And it's been four days since Mexico. So he's like, I'll talk to her at the party. She keeps like running out of every room that he's in. And then when they finally have the conversation, he is like as remorseful as Craig can be. I guess I'm recognizing that that's like not his strong suit. But he's like, you know, sort of like expressing remorse and also saying how much he liked her and like how bummed he is that she's like done with him. she was like oh I didn't know that about how much he liked her and it's like well yeah if you just spoke to him and said like I really didn't like what you did and like you could have ended it but like a conversation might have given you a new perspective he could have been like oh my god I'm not only apologize for that but express to you how much that he did like you like maybe it could have ended differently like because they are pretty cute together but she sort of just like ended and I understand like seeing that side of someone like oh no I will not have that in my life and I probably feel the same but I would at least tell them that not like have it be over and like Like ruin it before you have the chance to like maybe make amends.

1:01:45Claudia Oshry:Plus Craig has made amends with Sally. He apologized to her in Mexico. She like accepted it really quickly even though it was like not the most amazing apology. But she was like he just has this way of like endearing you. I agree. No, I agree. But like I felt like it should have been a bigger apology. She also had to be like, you know, I was upset. And he was like, oh. You were? What did I do? so then Craig shares with Sally that actually like the whole season like him and Charlie were really like kind of serious like they talked every day they were planning a trip together he was going to meet her family and Charlie never told any of this to Sally and Sally's so shocked and hurt by it but it's like why on earth would Charlie tell you any of this because you've only said negative things about Craig and here's the crux the issue of the season it's like Sally really liked Craig she was spending all this time with him and then when she finally like lets him know oh, I like you.

1:02:35Claudia Oshry:He was like, oh, I don't like you like that. And what is this, middle school? No, and instead he likes Charlie, her best friend. And he asked out Charlie. And Charlie likes Craig too and wanted to go out with him. So like, what should Charlie have done? They both like Craig. Right, right. And Craig chose Charlie. Sally feels very hurt by Craig not liking her. But in the way that he handled things, I don't really think that he ever led her on. They keep citing this. You can't be mad at someone for not liking you. No, and like, I feel like if he did have ever was in, I feel like from the moment they started hanging out a lot, like he never saw it as anything like that.

1:03:07Claudia Oshry:At one point he said like she could sleep over. But that's because like she texted like, I wish I could stay. And he was like, you could have stayed. Like not like you could have stayed. And even Shab is like, Craig is like a middle schooler when it comes to girls. Like he's not like, you know, he's like the least, the last person to like be disrespectful to anyone or like lead someone on. So he, maybe he knew that Sally had a crush on him, but he never was like even exploring that. He was obviously just like staying friends. But it's funny because like Sally got like chickens because he said like she should get chickens.

1:03:36Claudia Oshry:Oh, stop. And then at the end of the season, she re-honed them. No. And thankfully her family has a farm. So like she just gave them to her parents. But it's like really funny. It's like classic girl. Yeah, right.

1:03:47Jackie Oshry:When your man says, oh, you're like, I'm into basketball and she'll wear jerseys.

1:03:51Claudia Oshry:So she's like really funny in that regard. But also, so not only do I think that Craig didn't lead her on. He obviously was like a little too nice, but that's just Craig. Like literally five minutes later, the minute that Austin and his girlfriend broke up this season, she's all over Austin. Like she's in love with Austin. And they had this final scene outside of Carolina Day Party where he's like leaving. And they hooked up in Mexico, even though he just broke up with his girlfriend. And she's very aggressive with him. She's like, I like you. I think you're so cute. Like, let's go. Let's go. And he's like, you know what?

1:04:17Claudia Oshry:That feels good for someone to like really gas you up like that. And then in the last scene, she's like standing on the porch of the house. And she looks so beautiful. Like with the lights are like she looks like a goddess because the house lights are like lighting her up. and he's over there and like you could see that he knows that she's so beautiful and she's like take me with you and I think that they're like an item oh yeah I think it's working out like I saw she said on a podcast that like they're not together but like they love each other they're like best friends who are like in love and hook up and so they're together um so she's got to close that oh wait you didn't choose this story you see that Tom Brady was spotted with Yael Cohen Scooter Braun's ex oh I saw that he was spotted with Scooter Braun's ex but I didn't know it was

1:04:55Jackie Oshry:the ex yeah yeah and i just want to say like taking out the alex earl thing i kind of ship like i think that's an amazing very mature very mature age appropriate i think that they operate at the same level like she you know is a wealthy wealthy woman she's used to dating like a very you know influential high power individual um like sorry for alex i don't know what that but i i think that this is actually a very good pairing and it's the first time he's ever dated someone who's not 11 um she's in her 30s i think she's insanely gorgeous yeah i think it's a perfect pairing

1:05:26Claudia Oshry:also parent i think i think that's great when i saw i saw tom brady's with scooter bronze x and

1:05:31Jackie Oshry:i thought it was just like some model you know yeah no no no like the white one yeah oh i love that i love that too i love that i don't know what it means for licks but she'll be fine yeah

1:05:41Claudia Oshry:she'll be fine call braxton call brooks call brooks no they're like miranda and casey they are So next week Reunion Austin and Sally Yeah they seem to be Like together Craig has a lot to answer for They're teasing it Like he storms out of the reunion And he's gonna quit the show He's not Even though he's on Watcher Owens Live With his best friends Like I need the boys To stop fighting Like it's so lame It's so lame And I need That's for the girls I need everyone to like Start like moving forward Like dating with intention Austin and Sally I completely endorse So it's also just like Sally how can you be So heartbroken That Charlie went on A date with Craig When like you In two seconds You wanted Austin Right right And if Charlie liked him too, their names are too similar.

1:06:20Claudia Oshry:And I remember you telling me on her first season that she was into Shep, right? She had hooked up with Shep, but I don't think she was into him. And she had dated Taylor. The guy Taylor was dating at the time, Gaston. I'm sorry, what? Gaston!
