0:13Jackie Oshry:It's your favorite show. The fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. welcome back to the toast and happy tuesday yeah okay tuesday i hope everybody's having a great
0:29Claudia Oshry:week so far a little slow a little slow given that it's only tuesday it's kind of crazy yeah well i feel like now like summer's really a swing isn't it totally now the novelty has worn off also
0:39Jackie Oshry:like now that my birthday's over and it's like kind of this like amazing day is behind us like
0:43Claudia Oshry:yeah we just settle into real life yeah so that's what we're doing i felt down such a fell down
0:49Jackie Oshry:Fell down such a Fia rabbit hole. Like there's obviously a community of women who care as much about this as I do. And it's actually way worse. Really? So there's two things. The first is that this, you know, incident, which they say they didn't know about, where they were like stealing money from like literally influencers. Like if I give you an affiliate, their bug like it was on iPhone only. So basically this little period of time was only over the course of the 2025 holiday season, which is like the highest time for online shopping. but also it was then they cut it off in like January 2026 and that's when they pitched all those investors those celebrity investors with those numbers so like literally that's also fraud to your investors like shopping around fake numbers yeah so like I wonder what Mindy Kaling Alex Earl has to say about it you know yeah it's really crazy and then also like of course Alex Hooper's involved so basically tea thank you to this girl who recapped I'm so sorry I forgot your name but she did like a full like she's like a real like tech founder content creator basically this woman who was like the president of Honey you know Honey the browser extension which I love also went through a little bit of a scandal where they were like stealing influencer affiliate links like a bunch of influencers actually sued them like a bunch of YouTubers it's still an ongoing court case according to my TikTok recapper but the woman who was a president of Honey at the time um she's now with Unwell and she like introduced the burnouts and like she was the reason why they had a podcast on so like literally all roads lead back to Alex Cooper um but like they're saying it's very nefarious she was there how do they know that it was a big headline by the way when that when that unwell executive was hired because she's like this big way her name is joanna i actually remember the the headline about it i'm like oh that's cool like but how do they know they introduced oh um i think it was like mentioned in an article like it's not a secret like okay oh i'm sorry and she's also on the board of fia sorry i forgot that so she's on the board of fia she's a new president while she connected them so there's like a lot going on over there it's it's very interesting so because when i was thinking about it i was like this is just like a blip on the radar no actually what the girl in my recap video said not only it's like it's such a big deal it's actually a bigger scam than what honey went through and honey's is still an active yeah because actually a judge throughout the youtubers claims being like listen
2:55Claudia Oshry:no but also if i remember correctly with honey like they would find you codes so they would
2:58Jackie Oshry:find influencer codes and actually okay so what the lawsuit was is that like this youtuber realized he was like i'm sending people to an affiliate link and if those people have the honey browser extension and then also click like yeah sure give me a code the influencers affiliate gets wiped out honey is the last person to affiliate and so the judge was like listen that sucks but the user is actively making the choice to click on honey so you're just kind of getting screwed so the the youtubers who had sued are now suing again for just like not for money but like for wrongful whatever they should have split commission yeah there should be something basically for everybody she was explaining my tiktok recap like whoever is the last tag on the link for affiliate whether it's the influencer, whether it's Honey, whether it's Fia.
3:36Jackie Oshry:But Fia, what they were doing was even worse because they were opening a second tab in the background and embedding it on your computer or your phone forever. Like it wasn't just this one purchase. It was like all future purchases on this website. So what my recapper was saying, like this is actually a worse scandal.
3:50Claudia Oshry:Oh, okay. So it's not just a small cookie. Plus the defrauding of the investors, celebrity A-listers. That's really crazy. Oh, man.
3:57Jackie Oshry:They started their big celebrity roundup, like right after they had
4:00Claudia Oshry:these stellar numbers from the holiday season. Interesting that they stole them.
4:04Jackie Oshry:Yeah. They stole their stellar numbers. So we will keep you abreast as a leading news source on the Fia scandal.
4:09Claudia Oshry:We will be keeping her foot on the neck. On the neck of female founders.
4:13Jackie Oshry:As a female founder myself I just expect more from my fellow female founders. There have been times where I have wanted to like buy podcast reviews or buy followers like sorry it's it's a meritocracy out here. Like if no one's using your which I've heard also it's a terrible browser extension from And people who use it in earnest, they were like, they were never getting me what I wanted. It's like, they're showing you where you can get this H &M shirt like secondhand. It's like, well, I knew I could get this H &M shirt secondhand, but like I wanted a new shirt. Yeah.
4:37Claudia Oshry:You know? Yeah. So just like at its functionality, I don't think it was like super helpful. Got it. But this energy isn't just reserved for female founders. It can just be like humans, you know? Interesting point. You know what I mean?
4:50Jackie Oshry:I feel like you're tough on the men too. Of course I am. Of course I am. It's not even, I'm not, I don't have a preference on like men or female founders. Like I'm tough on everyone, but like if you're going to be like a nepo billionaire, like getting into the founder space, like you are held to a higher standard. So it's for nepo founders?
5:03Claudia Oshry:Definitely. Nepo female founders.
5:05Jackie Oshry:I'm obsessed with like nepo flops. And I would consider Sophia Gates now to be a nepo flopper.
5:11Claudia Oshry:Still not her name.
5:12Jackie Oshry:To have all the. Still not her name. Brooklyn Beckham. Oh, what's her name? Phoebe. Phoebe. Yeah, whatever. To have all the power in the world. Like we're always, you know, getting on Hailey Bieber. Well, she's a billionaire.
5:21Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Can Brooklyn Beckham say the same?
5:23Jackie Oshry:Like I love billionaire flop nepos. Like that's the best.
5:27Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
5:27Jackie Oshry:Like you're so untalented. Like all the resources in the world couldn't even help you. And there are people who like, you know, grew up literally homeless and were able to do it.
5:35Claudia Oshry:What does that say about you? No, and it's like you don't even have to make money. You don't. Just don't lose money.
5:41Jackie Oshry:Don't steal money. Yeah.
5:43Claudia Oshry:Like you could just spend money. Oh my God. What if we just spent money? That's a beautiful, beautiful take. Like nobody said you had to make money. No.
5:53Jackie Oshry:Rest on your laurels. Yeah. Also, the streets are saying today is the day that Paige Lorenz is getting married.
5:59Claudia Oshry:Yes, that is what the streets are saying. And I don't think it's like a secret. I don't think it's a secret either. Like the girls are girling. Like her friend posted she gets married tomorrow. And so like a Tuesday.
6:07Jackie Oshry:Let's talk about that. Yeah.
6:08Claudia Oshry:I feel like when you're Paige Lorenz, like days of the week are not really your problem. I totally agree.
6:15Jackie Oshry:Except for like your guests.
6:17Claudia Oshry:Yeah. But like who's not going to go to her wedding that was invited? And I also imagine she's having a small wedding.
6:22Jackie Oshry:I also just like remember hearing, like learning growing up. There's like a Jewish thing that you should never get married on a Tuesday. Oh gosh, no. Is there something in Jewish law that says you shouldn't get married on a Tuesday?
6:33Claudia Oshry:On a Yom Shani? No, Yom Shishi.
6:35Jackie Oshry:Yom Shishi.
6:37Claudia Oshry:I don't know why I have this distinct memory. Or if she's getting married at night. Or if she's getting married at the day, maybe she's safe.
6:42Jackie Oshry:Right, is it Erev? Is it Erev Shishi? I bet I'm having the same issue that you're having in the chat, where the chat has like Oh no, in fact it's the opposite. There's no Jewish law that says you shouldn't get married on a Tuesday. traditionally Tuesday is considered an especially auspicious day for a wedding because in the creation book of Genesis, the phrase, Kitov, it was good, appears twice on Tuesday. That's why she's getting married Tuesday. Whereas it only appears once on other days.
7:03Claudia Oshry:That's why she chose today.

7:05Jackie Oshry:This whole time. So obviously I was remembering something. I was just remembering it wrong.
7:08Claudia Oshry:Completely incorrectly. Maybe my teacher said,
7:10Jackie Oshry:they say you should get married on Tuesdays, not shouldn't.
7:12Claudia Oshry:Yeah. My bad. Maybe she was talking fast and you heard shouldn't. Is Paige Lorenz converting to Judaism? Perhaps. She's definitely like having a small, charming wedding. Of course. Like literally Carolyn Bissette energy. The vibes like write themselves, you know? 100%. And that's so nice when you're so set in your vibes that like you don't have to wonder what will the vibe be. It's so true. I do feel vibeless.
7:33Jackie Oshry:Like I like certain vibes, but it's not like someone would see like a living room and be like that room is so Claudia. You know what I mean? Unless there was like a podcast studio in the living room.
7:41Claudia Oshry:Okay, that's a vibe.
7:42Jackie Oshry:I am like certain. And you know what? I feel like it's because I don't own a home. You know what I mean? Like your home is your vibe.
7:47Claudia Oshry:And that's where you cultivate your vibe. I'm just renting, you know? And you learn about your vibe. I think even Paige would say that too. Like she really learned about her vibe when she made the move from the big city and like bought a house.
7:57Jackie Oshry:Does anyone else feel vibeless? Like I like certain things. I don't like certain things. We were doing this with Chad Chibi Tea with you. I guess. Oh yeah, right. I told Chad. I'm like maybe Chad should have told me that you should buy a house. You went through therapy like looking for vibes with Chad. Yeah. And now I realize like the issue is is because I don't like I'm not settled.
8:12Claudia Oshry:You think it's because you're not settled. Yeah. And that you'll have vibes when you're settled. Yeah. I think that makes sense. Yeah. Who needs a vibe when you're not settled? I feel like I know my vibe
8:21Jackie Oshry:because you own a home yeah
8:23Claudia Oshry:I guess so and that's where I've cultivated even though I've started like I've always had a vibe you know of course but home is where your vibe comes to life yeah and it comes to life in the home space you know like there's fashion vibes because Convo's giving job your love I feel like we're making complete sense oh if you've been listening you get it like you feel vibeless I know what you mean yeah and Paige Lorenz is vibeful
8:44Jackie Oshry:a hundred percent and her wedding will be full of that vibe
8:47Claudia Oshry:it will be So I can just imagine what it will look like. I'm very excited for her. Mazel tov. And Tommy did go to Wimbledon. Oh. And they scheduled the wedding so that if he won Wimbledon, he could still get married. Right. So just fact check on that. Good.
9:00Jackie Oshry:We love holding each other accountable.
9:02Claudia Oshry:But he obviously didn't want to win Wimbledon. He wanted to get home and prepare for the wedding. As a good husband should.
9:07Jackie Oshry:1 ,000%.
9:08Claudia Oshry:And you never, you don't want to be with the guy who wins Wimbledon. You just don't.
9:12Jackie Oshry:No, no, no. You want to be with the guy who like almost. Who plays Wimbledon. Yeah, of course.
9:15Claudia Oshry:Who moves every year.
9:17Jackie Oshry:who's in the mix. Those Wimbledon winners don't make good husbands.
9:20Claudia Oshry:Those number ones, you don't want to be married to number one. Number three. Number three. Number one is always looking out for himself.
9:28Jackie Oshry:Yeah, number one can't fully commit to you because when you're the goat at something, that doesn't lend itself to being a supportive partner.
9:34Claudia Oshry:And firing in all cylinders. Yeah. You fire in one cylinder.
9:37Jackie Oshry:But you want number, yeah, I would say I wouldn't go below eight, but I wouldn't go above three.
9:41Claudia Oshry:I feel like 12 feels good too. 12, yeah, yeah. 12 is good.
9:44Jackie Oshry:12 to three because I think, Actually, three is like a little high. I agree. Twelve to five.
9:49Claudia Oshry:Yeah, and three is always striving.
9:51Jackie Oshry:Three has a complex about being three. Three is in the mix. Three can get to the finals.
9:54Claudia Oshry:Twelve is having fun.
9:55Jackie Oshry:Eight doesn't really get to the finals. You know, maybe semi.
9:58Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but like, okay, so that weekend's freed up. Yeah. Once in a while, you do make the finals, and it's like so exciting.
10:06Jackie Oshry:Yeah, just like everyone should be aiming lower.
10:08Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I agree. So it's good he didn't win.
10:12Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Today's show, because it's Tuesday, we have Dear Toasters, lots of girls ready. And, you know, today we're sort of taking on, I think, tackling an issue that's really hurting millions of Americans. And it's AI. AI. Like, we had a budget. I only chose one. In what sense? Like, AI generated porn. Oh. Yeah, like deep fakes, things like that. Like, I think, like, a lot of men who were already, like, borderline, AI has just given them, like, access to sort of, like, dark parts of the web. I didn't know that was happening.
10:40Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Okay. I guess I'll wait to see. Anyone who was, like, on the fence. I guess I'll wait to see like what the issues are.
10:45Jackie Oshry:But as always, I tried to, you know, choose a wide range. Light, dark, AI, mother-in-law.
10:51Claudia Oshry:Well, we're back on schedule. Oh, did you do anything productive with your night off?
10:55Jackie Oshry:No. I laid in bed. Me and Ben, like we talked. We were just like, we were talking the whole time about like how amazing it was that like we were not watching Love Island. And we just like, we're watching funny videos. Like it was just like, it was one of the most amazing nights I've had in a while.
11:10Claudia Oshry:That's great. I did something crazy. I started a book? no I'm already reading a book
11:17Jackie Oshry:I started a show
11:17Claudia Oshry:oh which one? guess which show guess out of everything that's like come out what do you think that I would start? Gilded Age
11:23Jackie Oshry:no okay of everything that's come out like it's a new show? yeah it's a new show Elle?
11:28Claudia Oshry:yeah Elle that's good so I'm in the middle of the pilot and then like Harry burst in and he needs to sleep in my bed so I had to turn the TV off and I'm gonna give it grace because it's the pilot and I feel like they were trying to prove a point they were trying to show how she is Elle there were so many references to the movie that it was actually like overkill. And it was definitely like a little corny. And it was hard because like Elle is not without fault. You know? Like Elle is with fault. And in the movie
11:55Jackie Oshry:she's actually without fault.
11:56Claudia Oshry:She's without fault. She's a perfect character.
11:58Jackie Oshry:So you're saying you hated Elle.
11:59Claudia Oshry:I didn't hate her but like I wasn't rooting. I'm like you're wrong in that situation. You shouldn't just go up to like the singer girls and try and sit and have lunch with them. Like they don't want to sit and have lunch with you. Oh my god calm down. Elle. That's crazy. On your first day of school and she's a junior and she's like where did the cool seniors sit? Like girl are you so shallow? Check yourself. Elle's always had a heart of gold she would never. It's true.
12:18Jackie Oshry:And also I had seen clips like surfacing that really cemented for me that I wasn't going to watch it because I don't know if you've gotten there yet but there is a love interest in the show and it's like he's this like sort of troubled youth he's like a skater.
12:31Claudia Oshry:Did you meet him? Oh it's the skater who crashed into her mom's car and has a locker next to hers and is like really goth looking? But then she also crashed into a boy like in the gymnasium and I think like he seems really sweet.
12:43Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I think that like. Does she have two? Yeah, and I think she's like touring between the guys she actually likes, which is like the skater, who's like the opposite of Elle's like aesthetic.
12:49Claudia Oshry:Got it, and he was like definitely, it's so commie, the show, by the way. Yeah, oh yeah, no, he was getting commie. And the senior girls were like. Because it's in Seattle, right? She moves to Seattle. The senior girls literally said they were like, we don't like people from California. And she was like, and Elle's sitting there and the senior girl's like, you guys don't care about stuff that we care about. Like the environment. Like the climate and social justice.
13:07Jackie Oshry:Yeah, okay. That's what she said. She moves to Seattle, right?
13:09Claudia Oshry:That's what she said. Yeah, commie energy. And so like now Elle has to become a communist in order to fit in. And Elle would never. I'm not interested. Agreed. But I'm also not loving her capitalist vibe.
13:18Jackie Oshry:It's like it's not a good look for capitalists either. Yeah. Maybe the true Elle lies somewhere in the middle. But I agree.
13:25Claudia Oshry:And then when she runs into that guy who I guess was going to be her crush and like he's handing out flyers because he said the support staff's getting paid. Like what support staff? I don't know. They said support staff. Of the school? People that work at the school are getting paid not a living wage.
13:40Jackie Oshry:Well, that's wrong. That's wrong. Why is this talking being talked about in L? The juniors talking about it. Yeah. Like, not them politicizing L. Like, come on.
13:49Claudia Oshry:No, it was just like, it was so trying to shove in this agenda. Their messaging. The commies versus the capitalists. And it's like, I don't want to watch that.
13:56Jackie Oshry:It sounds very heavy-handed, too.
13:58Claudia Oshry:It's so heavy-handed. And why'd it have to be Seattle? And even, like, the vibes of Seattle are so heavy-handed. Everyone's wearing the same color. It's, like, very... Gray? Like gray and blue, but like it's almost like a caricature of Seattle too. Like everyone is like miserable and ugly. They're offended.
14:14Jackie Oshry:If I'm from Seattle, I'm offended.
14:16Claudia Oshry:Seattle has pretty people too.
14:17Jackie Oshry:Oh, I just want to say I know a lot of people from Seattle and they're not like pink haired. People from Seattle could wear pink. A thousand percent. So I think it's offensive to have. Yeah, right. Communists are offended. Capitalists are offended. Californians are offended. Seattle. Seattleians. Yeah. And I just feel like they're just, they're making their bones off.
14:35Claudia Oshry:Like Elle is the one who's going to have to break. And it's like she's perfect.
14:39Jackie Oshry:Yeah. You know? I haven't even really seen a lot about it.
14:42Claudia Oshry:I think the casting, I think the girl is perfection. Oh, yeah. Even the way when her parents tell her they're moving to Seattle, she starts crying. And she cries like Elle in the movie. Like there are so many little mannerisms she does that hark back to Elle. Like nailed it with her. Well, that's good. Nailed it. She's a joy to watch. But like why are you wearing high heels on the first day of school and junior year? It's a good question. It's raining and you're wearing a dress like and I guess you're going to slip. Oh, so you stand with the commies. No, I'm just like, it's it's ridiculous. Yeah, it's ridiculous.
15:14Claudia Oshry:You could have worn a pink rain boot.
15:16Jackie Oshry:Well, you haven't really made me want to watch the show.
15:18Claudia Oshry:No, I mean, and it's only the pilot. And again, they definitely had to prove how it's going to be like, you know, legally blonde, like for real. Yeah. And I can imagine as the season goes on, like it has more heart. But right now it's just like it's silly. OK, but I will continue to try to watch if I have the time.

And the Got2Be Wax Stick is OG. Got2Be is like an OG hair care brand. I feel like we've been using their products since we were kids and I've used a lot of different wax sticks.
20:41Jackie Oshry:I love the got sometimes you use a wax stick and you shower and it's still in your hair like a wax stick needs to be flexible. It needs to be able to like be washed out, wash your hair, feel like you can use it again and the got to be wax stick contains coconut oil, castor oil and shea butter. The packaging is very easy to use. It's twistable to apply it. You partition your hair stick. Yeah. Partition your hair, apply wax stick on the hairline. It'll add texture to the hair and then style your hair in a sleek bun or ponytail and then apply the wax stick again to tame final flyaways. I feel like I, especially with like regrowth, but even before I was a pregnant person, I had like sideburns and I would never do a ponytail.
21:17Jackie Oshry:Like I would never be caught dead. And if I did, it would be like really low. But now I feel like I can because the stick is so easy to use. It does not make your hair look greasy. It does not leave behind like a waxy film. So be slick with the Got2B wax stick. Visit got2b.us for more information. That's G-O-T-2-B.us for more information. 23:04Claudia Oshry:Our first story, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's mystery dog makes his big debut in Florida. I guess his or her. We don't really know much about the dog.
23:12Jackie Oshry:So you would never assume the gender.
23:14Claudia Oshry:But this dog has gone viral since the wedding. There was a photo of Taylor and Travis and like a big fluffy white dog, which is crazy for the Swifties.
23:21Jackie Oshry:And I think like hardcore fans had seen the dog like once before. I mean like whose dog is that? Yeah. It's dog. Like Andrea Swift has dogs. So like people didn't assume that Taylor had gotten a dog. and like I know if you're not a real Taylor Swift fan you're like okay who cares but it's actually a really big deal. She's a huge cat person. Like her personality has been cats. Cats are famous.
23:40Claudia Oshry:I mean you could still be a cat person and have a dog but like to also get a dog with a partner is a huge step.
23:46Jackie Oshry:Yeah I also feel like this is really emblematic of like how Travis has made an impact on her life. Like you make space for your partner and not everyone is a cat person. I'm famously not and I do feel like that will get in the way of my eventual friendship with Taylor because like she can never invite me over. Like I literally want to go. like I am petrified of cats so obviously that's something I think about but not to make this about me you guys could get dinner at a restaurant
24:05Claudia Oshry:yeah of course
24:06Jackie Oshry:no she'd come
24:07Claudia Oshry:to my house yeah
24:08Jackie Oshry:but I could never go to her house
24:09Claudia Oshry:yeah well unless like she's traveling without them
24:12Jackie Oshry:yeah and like I'm sure they have their own handlers and such
24:16Claudia Oshry:well cats are like really independent yeah they won't bother you yeah
24:20Jackie Oshry:not like a dog would well I just feel like the fact that they got a dog obviously as a couple when you get a dog obviously it's like the first step before you have a baby so like it's a huge deal like we can look into that but also like i feel like it's just compromise you know travis like this was totally travis's thing looks like big dog too yeah um it's very beautiful i feel like it's a small window
24:37Claudia Oshry:into their marriage yeah so travis was spotted with the dog he shares with his wife taylor while he's in palm beach while arriving in palm beach florida over the weekend well we know they spend a lot of time in florida and when they're there he's usually training so i mean it's training season but like is taylor gonna be in florida probably that's crazy she'll probably meet him there whenever she's done doing what she's doing. And what is she doing you think?
24:59Jackie Oshry:I don't know maybe some girl time. Maybe like some work even though I've been thinking a lot about Tee Loas and I feel like it was like the first time ever that like Taylor didn't release an album on her own time like she just releases albums like when when they come to her when they're complete and I feel like there was so much hype around her and Travis and you want to take advantage of like momentum like that and it was the first album that I feel like was really incomplete and like not her best work and it was also felt kind of rushed and so take your time I want to work on your schedule and I don't want you working on ours yeah there's like a big demand for like we want the Travis songs and it's like she was so famous at the time and the era store just ended
25:38Claudia Oshry:and it was like what is she gonna do next I feel like she rushed it a little bit well I guess not even because of Travis songs but just because if she was doing a showgirl album like the show is ending right so you gotta like yeah but it it wasn't a showgirl and I don't think that that
25:52Jackie Oshry:vibe wasn't necessarily even the right one. So that's what I mean. I just felt like it was the first time where I kind of missed the mark in a bunch of different ways. And it was because it wasn't the right time.
26:00Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
26:01Jackie Oshry:Take more time.
26:02Claudia Oshry:Yeah. It was like a short album. Which I don't mind a short album. Not every album needs to be 40 songs.
26:07Jackie Oshry:No. Certain artists, like I do need your songs to be 40 songs. And Taylor is one of them. But what it was billed as...
26:16Claudia Oshry:It's not what it was. I was ready for it and it was the right time for it. like showgirl anthem bop season shell bog and max martin oh shell bog right of course i forgot you know what i mean like 12 blank spaces as travis said which it could not be further from like i
26:32Jackie Oshry:blame travis a little bit for the album we don't need 40 blank like of course we need 40 blank
26:36Claudia Oshry:spaces but nobody can do that like 12 bops like showgirl ratata vibes and we got the life of a showgirl the song but beyond that like it was just a hodgepodge it was such a hodgepodge so
26:50Jackie Oshry:hopefully she's writing music if not whatever it comes to you I feel like the best I feel like her best works like folklore that were so well like it was just like seriously a stream of conscious and like no rush she was like not needing because it was COVID it was just like what she wanted to do and I feel like she's got a place where she can be more selective so you know what I will listen to the archives you've left us with so much material take your time yeah yeah
27:11Claudia Oshry:are you ready for our next story
27:12Jackie Oshry:I mean just back to the dog like what do we think the dog's name is Bruno no like what's like Shai San price she's oh i wonder if she'll deviate because her two cats are named after famous women in media so the characters it's olivia benson is the dog male or female i'll zoom in oh wow okay i guess
27:31Claudia Oshry:yeah we could just figure it out like that i'm not really seeing a pecker but so let's say and
27:36Jackie Oshry:i feel like taylor maybe we'll keep it consistent with like her but i feel like it should be a dog oh i see a tushy well that's just sort of like i feel like it's a girl dog i mean a boy dog i would I would say it's a girl. What shows does Taylor watch? I feel like Taylor does watch The Gilded Age. Not that she would name someone like Mrs. Astor. But she does name her pets after, like fictional. They all are? Yes. Actually, Benjamin is the third cat that she adopted from the music video. Is he Benjamin Button? Or is he just Benjamin?
28:03Claudia Oshry:Benjamin Moore.
28:03Jackie Oshry:I forgot about that third rogue cat.
28:05Claudia Oshry:Who are the other cats? Olivia Benson. And Meredith from Grey's Anatomy.
28:09Jackie Oshry:I don't know. I think, I don't know the last name. what else does what do we know Taylor to watch Game of Thrones Game of Thrones I feel like you named the dog like it's Jon Snow this dog is Jon Snow it's such a Stark
28:20Claudia Oshry:this dog is Jon Snow
28:22Jackie Oshry:that's a great call see I'm so glad we figured that out like that's definitely the name
28:26Claudia Oshry:I think the dog
28:27Jackie Oshry:was actually in Game of Thrones like as an extra
28:30Claudia Oshry:as a dire wolf
28:31Jackie Oshry:right right right yeah this dog looks like a dire wolf and Travis definitely loves Game of Thrones
28:35Claudia Oshry:yeah and that's something that they have in common like given the fact that there's not everything that they have in common.
28:41Jackie Oshry:Right. No, they definitely don't share a lot of similar interests in TV shows.
28:44Claudia Oshry:I don't think Travis watches The Gilded Age.
28:47Jackie Oshry:I could see him getting into it because of her.
28:50Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. Okay, our next story. Love Island USA's Trinity is breaking her silence after winning the show and she's responding to some of the backlash. So the cast members have their phones back. They're seeing everything that's going on. It must be so jarring. It must be. And Trinity put out a statement that I'm actually very surprised by and very impressed by.
29:07Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and all the Islanders shared it. Not the Islanders, like the core Final Four. So they all re-shared Trinity's statement.
29:13Claudia Oshry:So Trinity, who is the most popular person from this season, is using her platform for good. And this is like what you hope someone will do. And I remember last season at the reunion, they were mad at Huda or whatever because her fans were so nasty to Alandria and Shelly. And you're always like, can't you tell them to stop or whatever? And Trinity, first minute out of the villa, puts out a statement saying, coming out the villa, I want to say I'm very blessed and appreciative of the love and support everyone has given me. with that being said I want to say the hate and ignorant comments some of you guys are doing regarding Zach is absolutely not okay and needs to stop it's very disheartening and we are people just like everyone else we genuinely have love for each other inside and out of the villain he's one of the most amazing people I've met so please have some empathy so yeah it's hell it's actually
29:55Jackie Oshry:hilarious and really speaks to the deep unwell nature of the Love Island voting block that like the person getting death threats hate so much so that the cast members needs to speak out about is Zach. Yeah. Well, like his worst crime was just being like snarky and annoying. He was treated to Kata very well. And there's a legitimate evil con man in the villa who's skating by.
30:14Claudia Oshry:Did you see his mom's live? I didn't see it, but I heard about it. People are like really
30:19Jackie Oshry:understanding like why Sincere is the way that he is because he has like a crazy mom who was like saying really mean things about Ariana and like the other islanders and just like being like obviously like my baby, my baby, my baby. And I think your baby's legit evil. So it's hilarious that like Zach is the one who is the focal point of everyone's like mad, everyone's hate when there's an actual person worth hating just sitting there. I don't even think Melanie, I know there was a lot of brands being like, Melanie, we'll give you free flights for life if you leave Sincere. But I don't think that people are, I know they voted for Melanie and Sincere because they wanted the core four in the final four but I don't even think Sincere maybe even really knows.
30:55Claudia Oshry:From what I understand, reading tweets and stuff, people voted for Melanie and Sincere because they love Melanie. And she'll come out of the villa and see no we weren't rooting for you and sincere we were rooting for you like it's
31:05Jackie Oshry:not melanie island it's love island we're voting for couples and there's like a terrible couple but it's like the way that amaya won even though who's brian exactly exactly they voted for melanie even though he hates sincere it's a popularity contest and it's never about the couples it's always about the people individually and that's like so frustrating it's the total opposite of the show yeah yeah otherwise molly man it's nice that everybody has zach's back and probably speaks to like what we didn't see um because he is like annoying like i get it so nice to come out of the
31:31Claudia Oshry:Avila use all of your popularity everybody loves you and the first thing that you have to do is defend your friend like most people wouldn't do that I think this speaks so highly of Trinity and like such like a leader mentality and that's why she was so popular everyone reposted it and like I don't know I just she could have said in a couple days she could have never said it's not her job to defend she's not even her couple like she most people would never say anything but like for it to be the second sentence in her statement of thanks I think is really gracious I agree it's
31:59Jackie Oshry:a really good look for Trinity. I also think like the people like listen to Trinity. Like a lot of times people are like, I can tell my fans to stop, but they won't. Like I actually think that they will.
32:07Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And why don't you try telling your fans to stop and see what happens? Correct. Selena.
32:12Jackie Oshry:Selena. What have you just tried?
32:14Claudia Oshry:Huda. Sabrina. Yeah. Yeah. She could have.
32:20Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
32:21Claudia Oshry:So crazy. Yeah.
32:23Jackie Oshry:So she's setting a great example. Like this is being a good example for women.
32:27Claudia Oshry:Yeah. also some not news but like people are speculating that Kenzie will go on Dancing with the Stars and I just want to put that out there that she 100 % should. Absolutely. And it would really only be this season because like this is her like this is this season of Love Island's year like. And the full cast hasn't been announced yet right? Like we know that there's like Sierra Mora Bananas.
32:49Jackie Oshry:Right, right, right. Oh wait that's such a great idea.
32:51Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I hope that she gets it. I just like been putting that out there for her.
32:55Jackie Oshry:Yeah, she is on
32:56Claudia Oshry:call her daddy did it come out no okay it's like a long lead time um it comes out on wednesdays right i guess yeah also like i feel like since coming out of the villa like she's having a good
33:07Jackie Oshry:you know first reception has been positive which i'm so happy for her and i feel like dylan's now
33:11Claudia Oshry:like bought in again to his relationship yeah he's like making content like supporting her
33:16Jackie Oshry:going on call i don't shut up no i agree like if you didn't like her at her worst and now you of course love her at her best um yeah i agree he doesn't give me like the best yeah when he was also like my god like how many times this is sincere have to apologize it's like are you fucking serious you literally made the kenzie apologize a thousand times you would not let her go and what she did was like literally not a big deal compared to the actual evil person when since he said that i've been really off of him he's like oh my god that was crazy that he said that what are they gonna like let it go with sincere i'm like are you fucking serious you like talk about beating a dead motherfucking horse you wouldn't let it go with kenzie and she didn't anything wrong Kenzie operated in earnest correct like I think that's been once she's left the people even people who had a problem with her like she's just a really sweet girl and I think that's coming through so people are like they're letting up on her yeah which I'm happy to see me too um yes Kenzie on Dancing with the Stars yeah because if it doesn't happen this year it's never
34:05Claudia Oshry:gonna happen so just like sort of manifest that for her I would like that for her yeah even though
34:09Jackie Oshry:like Love Island has not been like a pool of people that the Dancing with the Stars people pluck from this is the first time that's because she was on Traders like but it's also like Peacock and ABC and yeah but yeah oh yeah but I think that she should I mean like Sierra's gonna be on and she's after son right right no I would love that's a great great choice I'd be really happy
34:28Claudia Oshry:for her because I do think she also got screwed she did and she didn't get to do her uh her what's that one heart rate challenge this would be so much so much better than that totally oh my god
34:38Jackie Oshry:I saw the craziest thing do you know Joe grocery store Joe did you see this so you know him and his wife like posted their sponsored prenovo scans like you know you do the full body scans and everybody's like posting and he posted a video he was like i never posted my results because they found like a lesion in my brain and it's like the size of a blueberry and he has to get surgery next week to like remove that it could be a tumor they don't know what it is but it has to be removed is that crazy god i know and then once i saw that then i saw like all the old content like him and serena like posting out their prenova like you just never think those things are gonna go that
35:07Claudia Oshry:way wow i know really sad oh my goodness yeah i hope it's nothing um next story some crazy news in the podcast world comedians tom segura and oh my god christina pazitsky christina p christina p yes split after 18 years of marriage so tom segura from two bears one cave podcast and your mama's house with his wife with his wife christina p who's a comedian who has an amazing comedy special on netflix she does like a lot of mom content i they have been married for 18 years they have how many kids four two two two kids and now they're splitting shock it takes so much to
35:51Jackie Oshry:shock me like for so many reasons one like they're so embedded in work together like what does this mean for your mama's house like two like you've been married for 18 years why are you getting divorced like at that point like seriously stay together yeah and i think their kids are kind of young they are even though they've been married for a while they're young they're like toddlers
36:09Claudia Oshry:not toddlers but like 10 like under 10 really yeah the way she talks born in 2016 so a 10 year
36:16Jackie Oshry:old in 2018 uh eight year old okay i'm just shocked by this yeah like i don't want to speculate but
36:23Claudia Oshry:like when you like to me this is more shocking than like bunny and jelly a thousand but it's
36:28Jackie Oshry:not getting that treatment well because they're like just a little bit more niche yeah but i'm I'm shocked because also like he hosts with Bear, Bert, Bert Bear. And they're always are talking about like marriages. It's very much like a female kind of toast show, like where they just talk about like.
36:43Claudia Oshry:They preface by banter.
36:45Jackie Oshry:Yeah, yeah. And when I watch the clips, I'm like always shocked at how derogatory Bert is about his wife. I'm like, if that's me, like he talks about her just like gross. I'm like, that's disgusting. And I always notice how Tom like never does that. I always felt like if either of them were going to get divorced, it was never going to be Tom. Yeah. I'm shocked. and I don't even listen to their podcast but I think that they're like they're bears or whatever they call their fans like they must be flipping. It's a really big deal.
37:08Claudia Oshry:It is a really big deal and it's sad too.
37:12Jackie Oshry:I need to know what happened like not to be nosy but like what? I know. Like what happened?
37:15Claudia Oshry:I do feel like something had to happen because like everything is just very aligned. And there's 18 years of alignment. Their business like they have a podcast network like they work together a lot. Yeah. I wonder if they'll be able to work together still.
37:26Jackie Oshry:They might be one of those couples oh God please don't become like Jana Kramer and that guy who are like screaming at each other on the podcast.
37:31Claudia Oshry:But like if you're one of those couples that like no hard feelings, we're going our separate ways. We couldn't still work together. So much respect for you. Stay married. And then you also have two kids and there's every reason in the world to stay together. Stay together. So I just don't feel like it's that. No, I'm shook by this news. Yeah. Can I have your lip? Your lipstick? Yeah, sure. I'm feeling like a little dry. I noticed on yesterday's episode I wasn't wearing any lipstick. So now I'm going to be reapplying every five minutes because like in the clips I just look sickly.
37:57Jackie Oshry:Nothing will make you look more terminally ill than not wearing lipstick. I don't know.
38:00Claudia Oshry:I need like a lipstick that's just easier to put on I guess like that I could just keep reapplying because that was not a good look for me good really not my color it's everybody's color you
38:11Jackie Oshry:think yeah it's like a nice pink one thing about Jackie she's gonna buy a buxom lip product oh I am you're single-handedly keeping them in business I don't own a single buck I don't even know how
38:20Claudia Oshry:much because they send me a lot for free so like they're losing money actually I do buy it anytime I'm at like a anywhere they sell it because they don't sell it everywhere so when they sell it I buy it random niche brand is it it's my favorite brand they only sell it at sephora at the front like no and not even every sephora like my local sephora doesn't sell it i have to go to ulta
38:37Jackie Oshry:at the cashier where they sell all those like little like chapsticks and stuff yeah um so yeah news that shocked me this like very surprising yeah i need to know what happened yeah same
38:48Claudia Oshry:same well they both do a lot of content so like between the specials and the books and the podcast like jackie read his book i did read his book it was really good he had like a book of short stories It was so good. I tried to make you read it.
38:59Jackie Oshry:I started it. And it wasn't bad at all. Like I was enjoying it. But you know, sometimes things happen.
39:05Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Life gets in the way. It's true. I would totally recommend it. Like a comedian short story book. Like Tom Segura. Check it out.
39:12Jackie Oshry:Segura.
39:14Claudia Oshry:So anyways, I'll just say they do a lot of content. I feel like the truth will slip out. Yeah.
39:18Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Hopefully it's not like animus animosity. Hopefully there's no animosity. That's a good way to just round about.
39:29Claudia Oshry:are you ready for our fourth story which is just like some weird crazy news but um
39:33Jackie Oshry:jacks taylor has been spotted cozying up you guys the bravo universe is shook the fuck up by this
39:40Claudia Oshry:okay let me tell you what it is that they're shook up by jacks taylor was spotted cozying up to his and britney's longtime publicist in steamy vacation snap so if you're like a bravo reality tv follower the name laurikpr means something to you a thousand percent she reps everyone the bachelor people.
39:57Jackie Oshry:She's also just like a young hot thing. So like she's always in pictures with people you're like oh who's that? It's a publicist. She's always
40:03Claudia Oshry:there.
40:03Jackie Oshry:Yeah and she was. She's always publicist. She's a lot of high profile clients but she represented Brittany and Jax together like through a lot. So I feel like I don't know who her other clients are at this moment.
40:12Claudia Oshry:I remember she was a publicist for like Dylan Barber and Hannah G.
40:16Jackie Oshry:Dylan Barber yelled at Margot Oshry over this weekend. What? Did she tell you that?
40:19Claudia Oshry:No.
40:19Jackie Oshry:Yeah Margot went to search lodge and she got yelled at by Dylan Barber.
40:21Claudia Oshry:Tell me. Start
40:23Jackie Oshry:from the beginning. Literally I walked into her room I'm like how was your night? She's like I got yelled at by Dylan Barber. She said he apologized like hours later. But like, you know, surf lodge is very tight. The table next to Margo like was Dylan Barber's with Hannah.
40:34Claudia Oshry:I saw they were in the Hamptons this weekend for SETI. And there was somebody at that table. Joe and Serena were there.
40:40Jackie Oshry:There was somebody at that table that Margo wanted to say hi to. And so Margo went over. She's like chit-chatting. Who? Can you know who? I don't know. She didn't mention it so it like wasn't important. Chit-chatting and like trying to leave, like make her way away back to her table. It's like very tight. And he literally comes over and he's like, you need to move. margot's like fucking excuse me um she said that he was like basically being olivia astray you're like you know when we used to go clubbing and someone is encroaching on my perimeter olivia astray like was our security guard and it's like well olivia can do that like a man yelling at a woman yikes um and margot was like are you fucking serious and she just like left and then later like hours later they were at a different place and of course margot's table ended up being right next to him again and margot was like that guy like yelled at me and he came over and somebody say it to um
41:24Claudia Oshry:she like told someone and then he learned of his behavior yeah i think it was like tinks
41:28Jackie Oshry:tinks and her crew and tinks his crew was like let's get him to apologize and he did
41:34Claudia Oshry:yeah so dylan barber yelled at margo that's so crazy because if you're like the known person at
41:40Jackie Oshry:the table don't do the dirty work yeah i wouldn't say he's like that known though but he is we're talking about him yeah yeah because we used to watch a bachelor we're talking about him and so
41:49Claudia Oshry:like if if your name would be known like let your friend from home do it you know a thousand percent
41:54Jackie Oshry:and he came over and he was just like, I'm so overwhelmed. Like everybody was like, he had like his reasons, but like, I don't know, like yelling at a random girl is like such a bad look.
42:01Claudia Oshry:And she wasn't random. Well,
42:02Jackie Oshry:I think maybe he put it together and like, that's why he apologized. Cause like her sisters are gonna,
42:06Claudia Oshry:her two big sisters are gonna talk about it on her podcast. I didn't mean to bring that up.
42:10Jackie Oshry:Thank you so much. Oh my God. Did she not tell you that?
42:12Claudia Oshry:No, she didn't. And that's like really a bummer for me because like, I like them as a couple and I don't want to stop, you know?
42:19Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I mean, I don't have like, it's not, this doesn't affect my life whatsoever. Like I, it won't affect my life.
42:25Claudia Oshry:I'm going to keep going, but like, obviously, just I'm going to keep in the back of your mind that Dylan Barber yelled at your sister. It's not the best look.
42:30Jackie Oshry:Dylan Barber yelled at your sister.
42:32Claudia Oshry:Well, Lori Kay at one point did rep them. She might still. Yeah.
42:36Jackie Oshry:I remember she repped my favorites, Balacoli, right? Balacoli.
42:41Claudia Oshry:Balacoli got married. Yeah, I know they have babies. Well, they have, yeah, but they got married. They just got married. Blake Hortsman, we're talking about. Blake Hortsman and Giannina Giabelli from the first season,
42:51Jackie Oshry:The best season of Love is Mind. So true. So she's just like kind of a high profile reality star. Publicist. I feel like we've interfaced with her a couple of times. Like when Jax has been on the podcast. So they were spotted like on vacation, right?
43:03Claudia Oshry:Yeah. The TMZ obtained a video of them having a very animated conversation while sitting poolside. They're in the pool together, you know, wrapped up in each other.
43:12Jackie Oshry:And there's this Twitter account that like comes across. People think that like Jax runs it. It's called Justice for Jax Taylor. and anytime like there's Jax related news hold on I have to find it because they tweeted this morning okay ready they tweeted this morning you're gonna crack up hold on I'm looking forward to cracking up no no you are okay ready fantastic if true they were responding to the TMZ tweet fantastic if true at Mr. Jax Taylor amended man is coupled with a wonderful woman that's known him personally and professionally for years Lori is tough grounded and a cheerleader for the man's success join me in championing this potential couple a plus i just want to say like they make it they they do make a good there's more two drop dead gorgeous people finding love after endless years of getting to know each other no secrets no skeletons just pure vulnerability and understanding this is magnificent this i can get behind this made my summer cheers to mr jacks taylor they make a good case i'm not saying like i
44:10Claudia Oshry:agree with them but they're painting like a very beautiful image yeah of like this person who's Like crazy things.
44:17Jackie Oshry:They took a picture of Jax and they wrote this. The face of a man who has looked adversity in the eyes and said, you will not win. This man took lick after lick from Bravo fans, from his cast, friends. And guess what? Mr. Jax is thriving mentally and physically. Soon a man will be back where we want him. On the silver screen. Oh, wow. And the person's bio is he's paid the price.
44:37Claudia Oshry:Dot, dot, dot. Treat him fairly. This is really crazy. So I guess like Britney had also like heard rumors about them like years ago. and ignored them. I'm not saying that they've been together for years, but obviously there's been something between them that now they're able to act on.
44:52Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I don't think there's anything nefarious. And she kind of looks like Britney, I just want to say. I don't think that there was overlap. And technically, there's nothing wrong with this.
45:01Claudia Oshry:No, but as a publicist, I guess she likes Jax more than she cares about her name and her career. Because as a publicist, this is a bad look. Not only is Jax one of the most hated people and partners, you know?
45:13Jackie Oshry:like specifically like as a partner. He got hate for how he treated his life.
45:15Claudia Oshry:Like you can have him on your TV show because he's like funny and like villainous and whatever. But like as a partner, like everybody hates him. Yeah. But also like he's a client of yours. So like you're blurring this line. She's a client of yours too. It's just like looks very, very messy. It's a huge risk. And she's risking it all for love of Jax. Yeah. So maybe it's true love. Yeah.
45:32Jackie Oshry:Well, it better be. Like the Bravo universe was not okay by this. It is so out of left field. And it's very shocking.
45:40Claudia Oshry:It's really crazy. Yeah. Especially because like she's seen him at his absolute worst. Like that she would find all of that attractive.
45:46Jackie Oshry:The thing is I'm shocked that they're still working together. I don't know if they're currently working together. But like back in the day when we used to do a lot of Bravo. Like we I feel like her name came up a lot. And she was like representing a lot. Like the fact that they're still working together as publicist and client is really a testament to perhaps their cute action. Or like she's just a really good publicist.
46:03Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
46:05Jackie Oshry:This is crazy.

51:46Claudia Oshry:Thank you. You're welcome. Our fifth and final story, Ariana Grande alters her Thank You Next lyrics at her New York City tour stop after being spotted with her ex, Ricky. We were just talking about the Ricky lyrics.
52:00Jackie Oshry:Now I listen and laugh. Never mind he's trash.
52:04Claudia Oshry:Except she just performed at Barclays and she changed that lyric again to wrote some songs about Ricky. We always find our way back.
52:13Jackie Oshry:I feel like she's like baiting everyone. She's so not dating Ricky. I like so don't care. actually she probably is dating Ricky like she just has the worst track record I feel like if I'm a guy like I actually don't want Ariana Grande to date me because I feel like that means I'm awful like she only dates the worst guys like I just I really can't I feel so torn about her actually like whenever I think about like really what she's been through I'm like give her grace but like I'm sorry I think she's just like so crazy she's such a bad role model like she really is but it's like I would be too if I've been through half the shit that she'd been through
52:42Claudia Oshry:you know I don't know yeah I feel like she's just using this guy because she doesn't want to be alone and like sure they're she definitely has a little bit of that hooking up right now or whatever they're not getting back together in any meaningful way he's just like a stop on the way to the next whoever the next person is will be like a you know i don't think she really goes backwards like in terms of like taking exes back i feel like she did get back with big sean a couple of times did she i don't have that recollection maybe not maybe not he like broke up with her
53:10Jackie Oshry:and then found the actual love of his life and never broke up in there together forever Yeah. Like,
53:15Claudia Oshry:yeah. So I just feel like she's using Ricky and he's happy to be used. Like, great. I get to hang out with Ari. Yeah. I mean, that's exciting for him. Yeah. It's always fun. You know, big pop star. And she's like probably trying to like, just like show her, like, you know, have a moment. Cause she can't say listen and laugh to like Ricky songs. Cause she was just with him. So that's like weird.
53:33Jackie Oshry:I just like, you hang out with someone you laugh at. I can't report on Ariana Grande. Like I'm so, I'm not able to be completely unbiased. and I also don't really know how I feel because like part of me like I said like I think she's a bad role model and I just like really don't have love for her but then also like when you think about all she's been through it's like how can you even say one crossword about her honestly I think that you can I don't know like Manchester Mac Miller like I don't know I actually like I don't like choosing stories about her honestly yeah and then of course like the whole anorexia thing it's like are we saying it are we not saying it I'm personally saying it what Lily James that's not
54:10Claudia Oshry:her name Lily J I'm like Lily James from Cinderella Lily J of course of course no and
54:17Jackie Oshry:obviously Ricky's not the one for her because he's not married and he doesn't have like anything to lose so like that's obviously not of interest to her so we'll just see I just I actually can't talk about her and he's donuts guy and you know what she shouldn't date him just because it brings back donuts into the conversation and also like why does she want to be thought of as dating Ricky again like that was such a bad time it was a bad time but it's also like not a good look for her
54:39Claudia Oshry:to like not be alone for two seconds. Yeah. After like a serious relationship that she broke up a family for. Insane. So like she should want us to think she's single, not like messing around with Ricky. I'm no therapist,
54:50Jackie Oshry:but she obviously has like some sort of like fear of being alone. Yeah, which is fine.
54:55Claudia Oshry:Like you don't have to be alone if you don't want to. And she certainly like doesn't want to. She can pay people to be around her. But like let us think that you're like,
55:04Jackie Oshry:you know, healing. Don't sing a song about it.
55:06Claudia Oshry:And like and bait like, oh yeah, miss my new man. like that's not a good look for you. It's not.
55:11Jackie Oshry:Because like don't bring up your dating life to me.
55:13Claudia Oshry:And then it turns out to be the old man who you hated America with. And you licked donuts with. And like we're celebrating America 250. Like we don't want to hear how you hate America.
55:23Jackie Oshry:We're celebrating America 250. Like the whole donut saga doesn't align with the current vibe. So you shouldn't go back to that saga. Because it's coming up. We're talking about it. It is.
55:33Claudia Oshry:She should stay away from him. And certainly like She should stay away from a lot of people. If she wants to hang out with him like do it in private. and don't sing about him.
55:40Jackie Oshry:Yeah. My advice. That was also a bad look for Bowen Yang. He was like her spokesperson like saying it's the timeline like what you guys think is not real and then like Lily J like wrote an article with the timeline. It's like okay so what are you talking about?
55:51Claudia Oshry:Yeah but like you know what? I'm fine with people blindly defending their friends. I guess yeah. I hope someone would do that for me. Right. But I wouldn't put you in that position.
56:00Jackie Oshry:Break up a family. Right. You hope that I will have your back.
56:02Claudia Oshry:I won't put you in that position but like I'm fine with like not holding your friends accountable. Like that's sometimes you should but like sometimes you shouldn't. Okay.
56:09Jackie Oshry:Sometimes just support them. Wow. Okay. Well, that's actually a great segue into Dear Toasters, which is our weekly advice segment. If you ever want to write in, email us, deartosters at gmail.com or head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com. Scroll down. There's a little submission box. Both methods totally anonymous. All right. Are you ready? Mm-hmm. This one's funny. Hey, Swirlies. I need to tell you if I should be offended or not. I need you to tell me if I should be offended or not. I work very closely with one of my coworkers. We've been best friends for many years. I received a save the date to her wedding last year.
56:38Jackie Oshry:Well, the wedding is coming up and I'm realizing I was not actually invited. The other coworkers were, do I say something? Is it common to send a save the date and not an invitation? There has been some tension and weirdness very recently. I'm unsure if I should say something or ignore it and let it go to preserve our working relationship. But this is super rude, right? Sincerely, a confused and kind of offended toaster.
56:56Claudia Oshry:So it's weird. It's offensive. Yep. However, I don't think you should say something because this is the workplace.
57:02Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and I think a lot of people these days get their work friendships conflated with real friendships. Like sometimes you meet your best friend for life at work, but a lot of times like people are taking their work friendships a little too far. And in a situation like this, like she's made it clear. You said there's weirdness. Like she invited you to save the date and then she didn't invite you to the wedding. Like she doesn't like you anymore. And so, yeah, you could like make it weird in the workplace or just like continue just. Like work friendships don't need to be mended.
57:26Claudia Oshry:Yeah, agreed. You know, like. Agreed. How about you just forward me that email and we'll keep it moving.
57:30Jackie Oshry:How about you just circle back by EOD? Yeah, like send the memo. Have you ever gotten a save the date and not invited to the wedding? I have once
57:39Claudia Oshry:it does sound familiar
57:40Jackie Oshry:but like yeah I think we both did
57:44Claudia Oshry:oh interesting that's not what I was thinking yeah what were you thinking I don't know I just it sounds familiar
57:48Jackie Oshry:yeah no it happened to me once and to be honest like normalize changing your mind like I didn't really care but you know me I notoriously hate weddings yeah
57:56Claudia Oshry:but this is a work friend if this was your friend from high school and you felt like things were weird and you thought you should be invited to the wedding of course like you know try and have a conversation about the relationship not even about the invitation because like this is
58:06Jackie Oshry:like she's got a lot on her plate and like it's like a hundred dollars per person so like yeah sorry you're not like you're not worth a hundred dollars like um work friendships don't need to be
58:13Claudia Oshry:mended you know like i'll see you at the all coexist you need to get that bumper sticker like
58:18Jackie Oshry:we're all just coexisting i'll see you at the all hands and i'm clocking out at five o 'clock like
58:22Claudia Oshry:bye yeah i think it's really messy to have like work best best best friends and certainly not like conversations about your work friendship yeah so just you're good you almost got it you
58:32Jackie Oshry:She saved you because you almost got in too deep with a co-worker.
58:35Claudia Oshry:Now you know. Knowledge is power. Fuck that bitch. Like that's it. She said what she said. All right.
58:43Jackie Oshry:Next up. Hey, Swirlies. My husband and I are coming up on our first wedding anniversary and have thought about booking a boudoir photo shoot and surprising him with some steamy pictures. I was looking at the photographer's website and checking out her portfolio when I came across a spicy photo of my mother-in-law. Now, while I'm not judging her by any means, I'm concerned because I find it extremely hard to believe that she would have consented to those photos being public not only does she see does it seem extremely out of character for her but i also think she would be mortified if she knew i just stumbled across those but also she's gone through a major weight loss transformation since those photos which just makes it even harder to believe that she knows these are public my question is do i bring it up to her to make sure she's aware that they are public or do i just act like i never saw those photos and move on with my life sincerely a toaster who's just
59:21Claudia Oshry:trying to do the right thing i'm like what are you doing what are you doing how do you find yourself in this situation.
59:27Jackie Oshry:I feel like she didn't do anything wrong. No, but like she was just following herself in this situation. It's kind of a crazy coincidence, I'll say that. But I guess maybe it's a small town and there's only like one or two boudoir photo shoots.
59:36Claudia Oshry:And it's like, you know, they say you marry your mother. Yeah.
59:39Jackie Oshry:Well, the thing is, you know, I saw this, people were talking about this on TikTok the other day, like how, you know, when they go to the hair salon, they're like, person's always taking pictures of them and it's like, you know, you're in a hair salon, you would never feel uglier than when you do with that thing wrapped around your neck and you're looking in the mirror. and it's like some people are like well this person needs social media to do their job and like you know be a friend but also like am I getting a discount for my services so I think like the whole conversation about like vendors and needing and I get it like you need social media content in this day and age to like promote your business especially if it's like beauty or whatever but like yeah where is the discount like there has to be an exchange it's so true it's a conversation people are having and it's really interesting I think it happens a lot with like lash text it's like well I'm coming to my appointment looking like a mole rat and like you wanting to photograph like I don't know about that especially like there's an incentive for you but what about for me yeah
1:00:25Claudia Oshry:I'm paying for the appointment maybe your mother-in-law got a discount and if she did it like I'm sorry boudoir no no I think I don't think she got a discount like I think that's a separate thing that you're saying and it just like speaks to a larger issue but no I think that like when you hire a photographer like unless you specify like I do not want my photo shared which most people don't because they just don't think about it um they might share your photos I don't know
1:00:47Jackie Oshry:I think that if you're somebody who photographs like newborn babies and you do something sensitive like a boudoir it's not yes most photographers aren't doing your engagement party where it's an assumption that I'll put you on my website you'll be on my Instagram unless explicitly said otherwise but boudoir is a very sensitive nature.
1:00:59Claudia Oshry:It isn't a contract that you probably signed and didn't look at. But the question here is like should she tell her mother-in-law?
1:01:08I don't know.
1:01:09Jackie Oshry:Not directly and then also it's like. Not directly.
1:01:10Claudia Oshry:It's like if you tell her. Then she's thinking about you. No no no and she knew and it's like well why did you think. that I didn't want. You need to tell me.
1:01:21Jackie Oshry:She definitely doesn't know and she definitely should know.
1:01:23Claudia Oshry:I feel sick. It's just like, you know what,
1:01:25Jackie Oshry:it's a perfect anonymous letter. No. How do we tell her? She deserves to know. She definitely doesn't know.
1:01:34Claudia Oshry:Like, I guess it also depends on what your relationship is because maybe you just like sit her down the next time you're sitting down and be like, by the way, or you could be like, come at it like so, oblivious did you like working with this photographer i'm thinking about doing a couple photos and i saw you on her website that's good not saying it's good or bad that you're on her
1:01:55Jackie Oshry:website but letting her know just dropping the information yeah yeah but then you have to admit that you're doing a boudoir photo shoot for her son but like seriously do any other photos like i
1:02:04Claudia Oshry:feel like it's a really niche okay so you're doing a boudoir photo shaggy that's amazing advice yeah like you could even text her the link be like did you like working with this photographer i mean that's really crazy but if you guys are like semi in a good spot like that's like if i saw you were using a service i literally did yeah yeah i said once look for a makeup artist i saw you on her page and i sent it to you and i said did you like her and i said yes i did and then i use them and i like them yeah right britney right the yeah in florida no no the hair and makeup in dallas yeah
1:02:33Jackie Oshry:yeah um yeah like that's a great that's like a normal way of going about it it's very normal
1:02:41Claudia Oshry:I'll send the link via text. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:02:44Jackie Oshry:That's so good. I realized I didn't choose any of the AI porn ones. I obviously was like not in the mood, so sorry for teasing. This one's like a little bit of sourdough drama.
1:02:51Claudia Oshry:Oh, I love sourdough drama.
1:02:52Jackie Oshry:Hey, Swirlies. I learned how to make sourdough a few years back while I was on maternity leave, and I've been hooked ever since. It's really helped me form an identity outside of my own, outside of being a mom. It feels like she's found a vibe. I started selling to my local neighborhood via HOA Facebook group. I've actually had great success. It's not my full-time job or anything, but it's how I paid for my kids Christmas and Hanukkah. I love teaching people how to make sourdough. So when my neighbor asked, I of course said yes. She's also one of my good friends and all of our kids are in the same class together.
1:03:15Jackie Oshry:We've spent the last couple of holidays together. I gave her some of my starter, which I've titled dopamine. I spent hours answering her questions. I even created a PDF with photos on how to feed it and how to make her first loaf. Days after she made her first loaf, I got a text from some of my customers with a screenshot of her posting on our HOA Facebook group, selling her bread and giving me credit for teaching her. Clearly the neighbors were a little confused too. I didn't realize I needed half a mile non-compete before giving her some of my dopamine. I'm super proud of the little business I built and I've worked hard to gain these customers over the years.
1:03:47Jackie Oshry:I just know things will be weird now between us. Am I being dramatic? Please help. You're not being dramatic. Like that is weird. And also like her giving you credit like is very duplicitous because you're not giving credit. You're letting everyone know it's the same bread. Like you like this bread. Come get it for a dollar less. Like it's very.
1:04:02Claudia Oshry:But if she didn't give you credit that would also be weird that she's just like stealing your business idea. and she took your starter.
1:04:08Jackie Oshry:But it's like trained by Sally. Yeah.
1:04:09Claudia Oshry:But I will say she's definitely not making as good of bread as you because it takes time to hone your skills and get your... It's crazy to just learn how to make sourdough and then start selling immediately.
1:04:20Jackie Oshry:You have to be making it for years. Seriously, ew.
1:04:22Claudia Oshry:I feel like you're in a place
1:04:23Jackie Oshry:where you could start selling now but I don't know if I would have said that. No, of course. I wouldn't want to sell.
1:04:27Claudia Oshry:I wouldn't think that I have something you're selling. So the cream rises. Stay the course. It's also very hard, laborious, time consuming. She'll give up. She will give up.
1:04:36Jackie Oshry:Yeah, it's also, you need to come to sourdough earnestly. And if you're coming with the intention only to sell it, that's not a pure place. Not at all. That will reflect in your bread. There's no love in your loaves.
1:04:47Claudia Oshry:It will taste like greed.
1:04:49Jackie Oshry:And also, what is the ethics on taking someone's starter
1:04:52Claudia Oshry:and then selling it? I think if you took someone's starter and you started a micro business, but it's not like you just take someone's starter and then the next day you start a business. It has to happen organically. It has to. No, no, no. But that's just weird. And also it takes time for you to like learn your skills as a sourdough maker. So if it happens organically, like say Olivia, like she has my starter and she like in a, like at some point started like a micro bakery. That's what they're called.
1:05:16Jackie Oshry:I guess that wouldn't be weird. But that's also your sister.
1:05:19Claudia Oshry:Different. Okay. Anyone that I gave my starter to, if they like were making bread for a while, like love making it, have time. For a while. You're right. Wanted a side hustle. It's the time. Yeah. But you can't just like take it and then start selling. One, because like.
1:05:31Jackie Oshry:Her bread's going to suck. Seriously. you should encourage this that people get her loves hate them and never buy from her again. Yeah. I wouldn't be worried. You have time on your side. Keep doing what you're doing. Keep doing what you're doing. That sounds so cute and so fun. Yeah. No one like so great
1:05:42Claudia Oshry:to have like a side hustle earn some extra cash. She should give her
1:05:45Jackie Oshry:all of her kids Christmas gifts with it.
1:05:46Claudia Oshry:I love seeing like when people find like creative amazing ways to like earn extra cash. Like I feel like I see so many like Etsy sellers of people just doing like the smartest things. Like have you seen these people who make like you send them your baby like your babies one of their pajamas from when they were a baby. They make it a quilt? No. That's like, yeah, that's another great thing. You send them pajamas for when they were a baby and you send the birth weight. And they fill the pajamas with like pebbles to get the same weight. And then they put like, you know, it's like a bear, like a stuffed animal.
1:06:16Claudia Oshry:And then you have like your baby, their weight and like in their pajamas.
1:06:20Jackie Oshry:That's really cute. That's so smart. I saw, have you seen the people who make like rings out of breast milk? I have seen breast milk jewelry. Yeah, where it's like they put like, they basically like dehydrate your breast milk. it becomes powder and they like put it in like a little glass pearl or whatever and put the pearl on a ring and you like shake your breast milk around. It's so, like people get so creative. Yes, I think a lot of it is like women who are like stay-at-home moms who like just have a passion. They're like artistic and they end up like creating a lot of revenue for their family.
1:06:45Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
1:06:45Jackie Oshry:I love that.
1:06:46Claudia Oshry:I love it too. I'm always so impressed. Yeah, Etsy, I've been talking about Etsy a lot. Yeah. It's amazing. So many people are so creative.
1:06:54Jackie Oshry:That's what you learn like on the voice.
1:06:55Claudia Oshry:Like so many people have good voices, you know? Yeah, No, I was shopping on Etsy last night. Oh, for like a ceiling medallion. Classic. For a chandelier. Classic.
1:07:03Jackie Oshry:And there was beautiful things. Like homemade. Homemade wares. Love that. Well, thanks to everybody who wrote into Dear Toasters, DTQ. Nice to see you. And we will see you tomorrow. Right? Yeah. That's it? Hopefully in new chairs. Anything else? Hopefully in our new chairs.
1:07:18Claudia Oshry:Hopefully in our new chairs that we're looking at.
1:07:19Jackie Oshry:That we're looking at.
1:07:20Claudia Oshry:They just need to be assembled. So that's like a whole thing. Every style, every home.
