Smile. Like there's two chairs on the outside.
0:47Maybe we need to go farther. We need some distance. Like you're seriously looking into my ass. Like you're good at making eye contact. I've always said, even though like I haven't held a traditional job in many, many years that the next time I have a job at a rear, which, you know, God willing is never. Um, if somebody says, you know, the classic interview question, what's your biggest weakness? And it's like, you want to be honest, but you don't want to be like, I suck. Yeah. Yeah. I can't do any jobs. I think I have the perfect answer and it actually is my greatest weakness I cannot hold eye contact with other people it makes me deeply uncomfortable I'm glad you agree that you can't do it because I thought you're about to be like your strength is your eye contact no I wasn't talking about you I was talking about me your strength no no no my greatest weakness is my inability to hold eye contact I find it really uncomfortable if you watch a podcast I'm always looking up I'm like telling a story and I'm like looking at the ceiling okay I don't think you should say that in an interview because I do think that's like a red flag like oh you think it's like a bad I think it's like a weird thing.
1:41I understand why you don't want to maintain eye contact. And hopefully like you don't have to go on a job interview anytime soon. Like just to be clear in this hypothetical scenario, if I am going on a job interview, like that's what we need to be worried about. Cause that means things didn't work out here. And that's bad. I agree. But for future yourself, which, you know, God willing. I think that's like a really big, weird thing to say. That's like, would be like saying like, I find people tasty. Like I like to eat people. It's like serial killer stuff. But why would somebody say that? Like, I find people tasty?
2:17Why did you say that? Is that a quote? No. I find people tasty. Someone who can't make eye contact chops people up and eats them. Oh, okay. I guess. Like, if I can't look someone in the eye, I also find them tasty. But how could I allure them into eating them if I can't even look them in the eyes? A problem for another day. but I just think that's not something that you should admit to someone who doesn't know you like me I love you you want to look at me don't look at me look away don't look at me that's fine I'm literally dating I do I'm always talking to the lord I'm always looking up I understand I'll look here there I won't look at you too hard and I wasn't looking at you in any sort of way no when we first started the show you were definitely you looked at me like I was tasty
3:05i was definitely maintaining eye contact with my partner that's like a weird thing to do i just want to say having like good eye contact is weirder than having bad eye contact i don't know if in the comments do you agree i agree i don't have good eye contact either and now we're just talking about eye contact so i just find it all uncomfortable i'll look over there let's be newscasters today okay hey guys how y 'all doing welcome to the toast happy thursday what did everyone do last night we had tacos at trouts we did have tacos at trout they were really good they were really good i've been trying to eat a lot of protein to like stave off endless snacking and it does help when i eat a lot of protein yeah so that's what i've been up to just thinking of ways to eat like real protein in addition to you know protein bars yeah that's like not what i'm talking about like i need to find like more meat eggs you know what you should do you should go on the Weight Watchers nursing program because like ground chicken, ground beef is zero points.
4:01You can literally eat as much of it as you want. I have to look into it. Same with eggs. Like I think that's a zero point food. She said I have to do Weight Watchers and I have to watch my weight. That's what she said. Yeah. Who doesn't? Everyone has to watch your weight. She said I should do Weight Watchers. I just want you guys to remember that the next time I say anything mildly offensive to her. Was that offensive? I said you should. I did the Weight Watchers nursing program. I didn't lose any weight. I certainly did not watch my weight. I just like tried not to get enormous. You did? Yeah.
4:25What'd you eat? On the Weight Watchers nursing program? Yeah. I'm a volume eater. You definitely do NP. Especially when. I'm a volume eater. No, especially when you're breastfeeding. It's just about how much you can take in in a given period of time. And so that's why I was eating a lot of taco meat, which is zero points if you get a lean ground beef or a lean ground turkey. Anything with ground, you know? We love ground. I. What do people eat like before the ground? Well, they ate ground. But like before the ground machine. You can grind without a machine. I guess you can. People like breast, of course, as do we.
4:55I love breast. Leg and thigh. I don't love leg and thigh. I'm exclusively white meat. And, you know, a steak. Oh, and to be clear on the Weight Watchers nursing program and just the Weight Watchers program in general, I'm pretty sure white meat is zero points. But, like, darker meats that have, like, more things going on, not zero points. Okay. I think. What about a steak? I love steak. I make a nice steak. I haven't made steak for you yet. Do you want to come over for a steak? That's a poor reflection on you, not me. Do you want to come over for steaks? I would love to come over for steaks. Okay, let's set a date.
5:27A mister and sister? A mister and sister. We're doing a triple date with our husbands and our sister. And we're calling it sisters and misters. We're not. Olivia is. And she's like really trying to get the name to catch on. So let's just give it to her. It's cute. I just feel like, I don't know. It's giving six chicks. You love that. I do. But it's like, I don't know if we're having like a theme tonight. Like let's have a game night. Okay. let's do mahjong because I took my mahjong lesson and we haven't even talked about this on the toes we have to play before I forget everything I learned Jackie took a mahjong lesson at her neighbor's house when I've been begging my bitch ass sister since I'm in high school everyone is playing mahjong now and I just feel like it's you know worth mentioning that I've been playing since like the eighth grade shout out to my best friend Alicia and her mom Esther um who taught us how to play and like it was like not a cool thing we would like sit around and play mahjong and everybody thought we were weird and now everyone's like mahjong oh um how did I get here oh yeah and so when I learned how to play I was so excited because it's a four person game and what do I have at home?
6:21Three fucking sisters. I bought a square card table. I bought like a set from Amazon. When I tell you to be try once or we never tried. I don't remember. I feel like we tried once and it ended up in like a fight. Nobody wanted to play. And I was like begging the card table went unused. I believe we actually threw out the card table a couple of months ago. I need to get a card table. You do. Well, I was toggling between, you know, just a foldable card table on Amazon or like an expensive game table. There was a three thousand dollar one And I'm a scout. I'm dying. Right. I think you should get the card table.
6:54Which one? The foldable one. Yeah, yeah. But then I was, and I wasn't going to get like the fancy one. I can barely play. That's something I can treat myself to after a couple wins under my bed. After I take all your money. Yeah, Olivia was getting like hella competitive with it. Good. That's like the kind of energy I've been begging you guys for. We should play for money. And when I win, I can buy my card table. Sure. That's a great idea. So then it's like a communal card table because we all kind of paid for it. Yeah. We need to get a game going before I forget everything I learned. And of course, I already have a pargy board, files and racks and stacks.
7:23She has all the accoutrement. Racks and stacks. She has all the accoutrement, but none of the skill. Shout out Oh My Mahjong. But none of the skill. Picking those out was a real joy for me. And that is motivation to play because it's a pargy game that's incredibly pliny. It's a pliny game. So yeah, keep saying I have none of the skill and I'm going to whoop your ass. Good. No, yeah, I'm bathing you and Olivia into like... It's just hard because I have a newborn baby. that's actually why we haven't played. Yeah. Okay, sorry. I'll just go kill myself. Yeah, for sure. For sure. Because I'm down to clown.
7:57I've been wanting to play. Even for the lesson, I had to wear him in the carrier because I have a baby. Right. Yeah. A Velcro baby. Yeah. Okay. So, sorry. So, yeah. Yeah. Sorry. How are you? I'm doing well. What did I do last night? Like, not much of anything. Oh, yeah. Kind of like big update in my life how you said yesterday, Max, turn two. Like, Ruby rolled. And I told everybody on the Patreon, like, yeah, my baby's, like, not rolling. And every other baby is, like, starting to crawl. He rolled. Like, not a big deal. He sleeps on his stomach now. Rolls back, rolls forth. You need to roll forward?
8:26Oh, no problem. Oh, you need something behind me? I can get that, too. So not a big deal. Like, if your baby's not rolling, he will. Don't worry. Is it everything that you hoped it would be? Yeah, it's amazing. Yeah. It's amazing. Does he enjoy it? I mean, he never had, like, a sleep problem. Yeah, I think a lot of people, like, wait for their babies to turn just so they can sleep on their stomach because they're, like, not sleeping well. you know my king 12 hour king never an issue which way yeah and now it's just like you put him to bed on one side boom sometimes i check the camera i'm like are you even in there he's in the corner like oh like i literally didn't see him so it's like a little bit of a panic attack but motherhood is beautiful that's very exciting we're all very proud of him yeah it's kind of been like a big week for my family and he's sort of just like on his own time like he he's kind of like his mother in that sense yeah more like his father i was gonna say more like his aunt his His mother, who's his aunt?
9:11Margo, just like a little stubborn. Oh, I was going to say, takes his time, like his father. Oh, right, slow. That's very generous phrasing. Not lickety split like his mama, showing up early. I was actually talking about this before we started. I don't know if people know this about me. I'm a chronically early person. To the point of borderline embarrassing, like, don't you have a family? I am everywhere 20 minutes early. 20 minutes is a long time. I allot 30 minutes to get anywhere. and in New York it usually takes like 15 to 20. Now I'm like a commuter while I'm here and it's not that serious.
9:45But I am always, always so early to the point where other people when they're on time I'm like you're actually late. Like we've been here all day. Like I was actually early today whereas I'm usually like on time slash late. Because you have a Velcro baby. Because I have a, thank you for understanding. And I was still like after you. Like I saw your car and I was like oh I have to get here early. like I was just early. Oh, you saw my car and I saw your car. I'm like, bitch is still before me. And I was early. I am always early. And I just, I think it's now that we're talking about greatest strengths.
10:16Oh, that is, that's a good one to share with. And it, and it's true too. So I would say, so I feel like that, and I want to be honest to my future employer. So yes, let's do mock interview. Ready? Okay. Three, two, one action. So Claudia, we're really excited to interview you today for this position. I'm sorry that like your show. Can you explain this 11 year? work gap. Can you explain this gap in your career? Yeah. Um, you know, I can. And please do. Oh, sure. Sure. Um, you know, business is a funny thing, Miss Oshry. Oh, sorry. Mrs. Oshry, I know you have a Velcro baby at home. And might I say, you're looking mighty tasty today.
10:59Um, when referring to my 11 year age gap, I feel as though you should mind your own business. When referring to the 11-year gap in my resume, I started a business. And, you know, what makes me such a great candidate for this job? I take risks. I take risks and I know failure. And I wouldn't trust anybody who doesn't know failure. And as the great Taylor Swift one said, no one sees when you lose when you're playing solitaire. And that was me. But I guess I lost. And now everyone knows because I'm here interviewing for this job. So you would say you were failing forward. Yeah. And there's no shame in failing.
11:31Correct. And that's like a good thing you should harp on. I was pursuing my dreams when I'm young. That's the time to do it. Correct. What would you say are your greatest strengths in the workplace? You know, among my many strengths, of which there are many, I would say my greatest strength is my ability to manage time. I would say I'm a chronically online person. You know, as my great, great, great grandmother once said. You're chronically online? Oh, did I say that? Right in slip. Chronically on time. I'm also chronically online, and that's why you should hire me as your social media manager.
12:03But I am a chronically on-time person. As my great-great-grand once said, if you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. And if you're late, well, that's just unacceptable, dear. And what's your biggest weakness? As I'm sure you could surmise during this interview, I do really struggle to maintain direct, steady eye contact. It's something I'm very aware of and something that I actively work on in both my personal and professional life. but it is something that at times I do find challenging. That was a good answer. Why do you think that is? Dig deeper. It probably goes back to my childhood and never feeling fully accepted by my bitch older sister, if I'm being honest.
12:43Yeah, Olivia, she's so weird. Yeah, yeah. Well, thank you for your time today, Claudia. One of my weaknesses is I don't like touching other people. Come on. Why the left hand? It's just a reach for me. clammy now that's why you know why i don't want to shake hands with you oh and to be clear i don't want this job okay you're a bitch and your office sucks and you have no snacks in the pantry i checked well thank you for your time today thank you for your time today thank you more for your time thank you the most thank you more than anybody why don't you break the microphone you're like bed he probably sat here yesterday oh yeah ben did record in the studio yesterday should i spoil who their guest is just because i'm annoying and they got like the most famous person in the world on their podcast no but give clues okay do better blank that's it perfect clue perfect clue if you oh real ones will know yeah it's only for real ones it's only for real ones do better blank it's eileen davidson that's my clue good clue thank you um how are the stories today dan stevens that's my clue oh oh should we just tell him who it is No, no, I'm sorry.
13:53Yeah, Dan Stevens is a great, oh, I love it. It's Lady Mary. The clue is Lady Mary. If you can't press it, well, you'll just have to wait. Yeah, yeah. How are the stories for today? They are good. Like, for Thursday, we're going to continue to update the Celeb Mom Talk drama. Today is the day Traders premieres this evening. I've been seeing TikTok ads for it, so, like, it's not missing me. Okay, great. I'm so excited. Oh, also, if all goes to plan, Redheads will be coming out today. We recorded yesterday. I was downstairs. as I heard the cackles from below. It was really fun. The girls caught up.
14:26Lots of like non-book talk just catching up because it's been months. And we're hysterical. So whenever that drops, you should listen to it. I think I will. Our first story, not really an update in the celebrity toxic mom group drama, but an adjacent update, which is that Hilary Duff is sharing a snippet of her risque new song amid the mom group drama.
19:29So I do think she's like using all the visibility. As she should, as she should. To her advantage to showcase her new song, as she should. Everyone's talking about her. I'm talking about the song. Yeah. Were you on the toast when her, no. She had her first song come out called Mature. I think it was Ben. And it was perfect because like Ben's obsessed with Hilary Duff. And we were really hyping it up because before it came out, Hilary Duff's back in music. She's done amazing music. And now she's married to this big time magazine editor, Matthew Comey. He's one of the biggest music producers in the world.
19:57Like there's no way this could be a bad song. There's no way this could flop. And we were so wrong because the song Mature that she put out was genuinely like a bad song. Like AI actually could have made a better song. so for the second song I had like little to no hopes and those hopes were met right where I was because the song is also really bad but it also now has like kind of crazy lyrics. Mature did too kind of had like sexually explicit lyrics. This is a little bit more overt and it's also referencing an iconic moment in pop culture herstory so please go on. So she put out a snippet of the song where she's lip syncing to her own song and in a field.
20:30These are the lyrics and unfortunately I'm going to have to read them out. Yeah and it's giving when Jackie had to read the lyrics to WAP. and like uh oh no bruno mars yeah sex with uh sexy red or yeah or whatever your favorite artist announced he's dropping new music oh really yeah i think at the end of this week he has a new album called romantic i think it's called and luke combs and luke combs that's the story yeah so we'll talk about music at the end but um hillary duff's new song here are the lyrics i only want the beginning i don't want the end i want the part where you say goddamn back of a dive bar giving you head Then sneak home late, wake up your roommates.
21:05I want the highlights 10 out of 10, the butterflies from holding your hand before we swept us under the bed and we practically became roommates. I'm touching myself by the front door, but you don't even look my way no more. If you thought I had trouble making eye contact before, I literally can't look at you after that. Okay, let's get into it. It has to be done in order for you guys to understand. Here's the thing. if you're going to be like very sexual in your music a couple of things have to happen so i'd like to bring up two examples of women being sexy and where i think that they've done it right and what the difference is first you have you can't be so like overt right like sometimes you're going to be a little bit more subtle like it took me a while to realize that hailee steinfeld's amazing song love myself is actually a song about masturbation like it actually took me probably 100 listens before i realized and you know like that's good songwriting like it's innuendo i believe the kids call it and the song itself was so amazing that like whatever she was saying it wouldn't have mattered now kind of a more recent reference would by taylor swift which is a crazy song his love was the key that opened my thighs right like that's why you listen to the clean version yes normally the clean version is actually better and it goes to this sentiment yes but even so even the the non-clean version the song is so good like i actually like i don't care i'm able to look past the cringy lyrics.
22:22The first couple of times it was hard. The thing with Hilary Duff is she doesn't have that subtle thing here. It's going to be more overt. And it sounds like one of the worst songs I've ever heard. It sounds like a fake song. So having said all of that, it's going to be a no for me. Additionally, I don't think this is a song put out by someone in their marriage. Because she's talking about the relationship going south. And I'm sure she's talking about a classic theme that anyone can relate to. Right, it's hypothetical. But I do also consider the artist. And so I don't want to, like, unless you guys are getting divorced or like you're telling me about your marital issues, I think that's weird to sing about.
23:00Yeah. I think the weird thing here is that a seasoned pop star with hits under her belt in conjunction with a very seasoned music producer are unable to make anything happen. Like, they're now two failed songs. And a lot of songs fail for a million reasons. even good songs fail right it's it's the industry tiktok whatever but this is just bad music it's bad songwriting it's bad beats it's bad everything and i'm shocked that's the shocking part beyond the lyrics of course these aren't the lyrics of a happily married woman and i believe she's happily married like her husband was just out here defending her so it's like you're singing about nonsense right why not sing why not be authentic the year of authenticity why not speak your truth hill or sing your truth like yeah so that's for me in addition to the fact that it's It's not subtle.
23:45It's very like overt and. And also. Broody. I'm going to say one more thing. Okay. When it comes to like women talking about sexiness. It applies to men too. There are just certain people who do it better. And when I think of Hilary Duff, I think of so many things. And I don't think of like one of the first adjectives is like sexy. That's not who she's played. She's like fun girl next door vibes. Even the video that she put out is not. Because you could say like she's breaking free from Lizzie. She doesn't want to be Razor Voice anymore, even though who would ever run from that. But even the video itself is not congruous.
24:20The vibe of the video is not congruous with the vibe of the song. And I think that's also why Taylor Swift's wood was so hard for people to digest because she is not historically sexy. She's a lot of things, good things. You can't be all things, right? So. Someone who does it really well, I think, is the sexy woman of the sexy lyrics of a year. Let me think. here i'm actually shocked she hasn't come up yet because we always talk about her in this context who breiner sabrina carpenter is always singing about sex sometimes you know that and sometimes you don't these days you know it too much and that's where the issue lies in tears yeah album in general i was just listening to taste in the car and it's actually when you read very much into lyrics like it's a crazy song but she does it well she does it well and it's a combination of aesthetic the photos even like you know everyone was talking about the hair being held the cover of her most recent album that's her thing yes that's a great example thank you for bringing that up and so hillary's just not that girl and to like pivot to it so overtly and so quickly and it's not reading as authentic maybe that wasn't one of her new year's resolutions yeah and i just feel like she so successfully transitioned from like child actress to musician to mom to actor like yeah actor like successful actress that what does putting out music now do for her i do find it interesting when people totally um change lanes like for no reason i feel like ariana is doing that right now you know she's obviously in wicked and now she's going to be in meet the fuckers okay so meet the fuckers they had meet the fuckers two three whatever and now it's like the new one whereas i think ben stiller's the dad and his son is getting married to Ariana Grande, something like that.

26:01Okay, so she wants to be an actress. Right, and it's like this is somebody who completely dominated the pop sphere. She had done a complete turn from Nickelodeon star to successful pop star, the biggest pop star in the world, and now turning again. I always find it interesting, and the opposite, like Selena. Selena doesn't sing ever, and now she's like an actress, Emilia Perez. And then she put out a song. Right. Yeah, so I guess people can do whatever they want. It's just like it feels like they work so hard to break out of one box just to then go back to it. Mm hmm. But I guess like these people are crazy.
26:31You know, like we're talking about crazy. Correct. We're talking about crazy people doing crazy things. So it's like we're like we want to do this thing forever. Right. Literally. We just. Different strokes for different folks. Correct. However, I don't think Hillary Duff is a crazy person. No. OK, so that's true. She's sort of grown up. And I think why people love and respect her so much is she's grown up to be this really sound of mind individual for somebody who was so famous at such a young age. she has a great marriage a stable home it appears um good working work-life balance she's in hits like younger she still has like things coming and and yeah why someone would do so crazy when it appears that she's this really stable person that's a good point yeah but anyway stream i don't know what the song is called i don't even think it's out yet oh and i'm sorry just when we're talking about her giving head which we are talking about now because she said it we have to talk about like Like the time she was paparazzi.
27:26Do you know what I'm talking about? Giving head to her ex-husband right after they got engaged. Right. There's like paparazzi pictures of him popping the question on the terrace. Her smiling. Giving him a hug. And then giving him head. Like. It's like. Are you ready for our next story? Mm-hmm. Some adjacent news. But I can't figure out why it feels adjacent other than like they all live in Los Angeles. But Hilary Duff does lead me to Spencer Pratt. Maybe because of the song Come Clean. Oh, that's why. Yeah. Okay. Spencer Pratt is launching his campaign for LA mayor one year after losing his home in the wildfires.
27:57He says we're going to expose the system. If you've been following Spencer on social media for the last year since his home burned down, none of this is shocking. Because at first it was like talking about him personally, his family, the house, Heidi's music. And then it became, you know, larger than the Pratt's.
28:16And I just want to say I love this. You know, actually, Spencer was the one who put me on to remember I was talking about that music care. Oh, no. Fire Aid. Yeah. That big festival that a lot of celebrities put on right after the fires to raise money. They raised 50 million dollars for the fire victims. Billie Eilish, Dave Matthews, all these big people performed. And it turns out none of that money went to any victims. And Spencer was the one who put me on to this investigation that a local news station was doing about where the money went. It went to like fake charities. Like it was really crazy.
28:44So he's just sort of been uncovering a lot of fraud. Yeah, there's a lot of fraud in California to uncover. He's also spent the last year like railing against his mayor and his governor and all the people that failed L.A. during the fires. And so, yeah, the next logical step is like, well, what about me? Right. And so I think a lot of people are like, well, you know, he has no experience. And it's just like, what's more experience than losing your home in a wildfire? Like, who's going to fight for the victims of L.A. more than a victim? You know? Yeah, but there are other things to running. Are there?
29:15like right now like that's all there is like yeah but we gotta go think like but california and he's running for the mayor of just la right not like the governor of california so it's really specific to like his hometown yeah oh and he's born and bred in la right yep yeah princes of malibu right right right right yeah no he doesn't have experience but it doesn't mean he can't learn like sometimes you know experience is a good thing but i think also that's how you get experience right like you have to get a job to have a job that's kind of the theme of today so it can really go both ways you know like sometimes you have no experience and you're not interested in getting experience and learning but um I think in earnest he wants to help his city and he wants to make it right a great place to live and I think he's you know have all has all the right motivation so I I endorse his bid if anybody's asking me yeah no they're not I don't live there who else is running for mayor because it's Rick Caruso gonna run again right there's always like lots of celeb like why do people know about the mayor of LA like we don't live in LA because celebrities are always like taking stances and endorsing all the celebrities endorsed rick caruso um and he lost um but he's also i've been seeing like he comes up on my tiktok a lot like doing a lot of podcasts yeah i see a lot of because he's part of the rebuilding of the palisades that's like how he's a businessman he owns like a bunch of real estate in the palisades so he's been talking about that um i don't know if he's running if he i have to assume if he ran he would win but rick yeah Why?
30:38Well, because he lost and the person he lost to was responsible for a lot of the damage in the wildfires. And the part of the L.A. that he was responsible for, Rick Caruso, in the Palisades, didn't burn down. Yeah. Sort of like. You would think logically. Yeah, right, right. But you never know. You never know. You never know. So I also think that Spencer and Heidi have a Hulu show, right? So hopefully this is being documented for the docuseries. Yeah. He told a crowd on Wednesday when he launched his bid. He said, the system in Los Angeles isn't struggling. it's fundamentally broken. It is a machine to side to protect the people at the top and the friends they exchange favors with while the rest of us drown in toxic smoke and ash.
31:17Business as usual is a death sentence for Los Angeles and I'm done waiting for someone to take real action. That's why I am running for mayor. Okay, like I don't know anything about like what it takes to be a mayor but I just want to say like I'm compelled. I think it takes like gusto and love for your city and a commitment to learn. I love that. You know? Yeah. So let's see what happens. I guess the mayor election for there is November. Okay. Early in the year. So we've got some time. Mm-hmm. We'll keep you abreast. Imagine. I would love this term for him. I know. I feel like it's not that crazy.
31:47Like, California made the Terminator the governor. Mm-hmm. Like, that's actually crazy in hindsight. Was he the governor before the Terminator or the Terminator before the governor? Terminator before governor. Okay, so it's really crazy that he became governor. Yeah. It's not that crazy. Like, I feel like he could do it. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? Mm-hmm. The romantic news. Shawn Mendes confirms his romance with Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine. And I teach you this story because... Her name's Bruna. Let's talk about that. During a PDA-filled LA outing, Shawn has a new lady named Bruna.
32:20Okay, am I wrong in misremembering that Shawn Mendes, like, came out? Remember? He was like, yeah. He was, like, on stage. He just was sort of talking about how, like, you know, sexuality is a spectrum. the things you say before you come out. And he didn't say like he was necessarily gay. I think he was more so leading that he's like fluid, bi, whatever. I don't know. So that still like leaves space for women. For this, yeah. For Bruna. I just feel like we never followed up on that. I didn't. I certainly didn't. I forgot it if I ever knew that it happened. Yeah. I don't watch clips from Shawn Mendes' concerts.
32:56I don't think you're alone in that. I think the... Sometimes you're just up there and you're just saying stuff. Well, it's kind of scary to be in front of a crowd. And you're just like, I'm gay. Yeah, that's true. Although he does have experience. It was a small crowd, actually. I feel like the trajectory of Shawn Mendes' career could actually be studied. Am I always talking about it? I don't know. What the fuck happened to Shawn Mendes? First of all, it's crazy that he became as famous as he did when he was from Vine. Not a lot of people remember that. Bruna. Bruna. That's all Jackie can think about.
33:29No, it's just like every few seconds I just need to say. Mm-hmm. Bruna. Bruna. Brudo. It's crazy that he was from Vine and then he got so famous. Like he was literally, he was Harry Styles. And then I was also thinking about Harry Styles yesterday. What happened to him? Like. Bruna. I fucking can't with you. That's actually true, by the way. Bruna. Bruna. Bruna. Bruna, Bruna, Bruna. Let me be your Bruna. Bruna, Bruna, Bruna. Let me be your Bruna. One and only. One and only Bruna. I'm happy for Sean. He deserves love. Yeah. With Bruna. Don't we all deserve love? With Bruna. I hope they never break up.
34:12I hope they're in the press every single day. Just so you can say on your show. Bruna. That's a beautiful name. So yeah, I'm getting it. You don't want to talk about Sean Mendes' career. I don't want to talk about Sean Mendes' career. Not even because I'm distracted by Bruna. However. Because you hate me. What I was going to say, because I love you. if you have more to say on the matter if you want to study it further I will study it with you no it's fine I feel like there's a lot of pressure from what I would say don't you just feel like he fell off like where the fuck did he go he was the biggest star in the world that song it isn't in my blood so good I agree he fell off from my perspective of someone who like knows nothing about Shawn Mendes it felt like a Shawn's choice agreed not like he's like clawing at something that won't have him and where do you think Harry Styles is working on what's next because we i remember when harry was everywhere all at once but that tour that like never ended we were like harry sit down harry take a nap and he did just been like a long nap yeah i think he's probably working on new music and then he'll do it all again but like you need the balance i feel like he he doesn't want like that rock star like all the time yeah so when the money runs out he'll come crawling back and him and so like kravitz still going strong yeah cute yeah channing has a lady they just celebrated their one-year anniversary A youth.
35:31Oh, she's a youth? I believe she's quite youthful. Okay. I like him. I know. As long as the lobe is there. That's the thing about me. And I feel like I came to this realization like a little while ago on the podcast because I would say things and people would, well, you said it different about Sam Hunt, you know? And yeah, I did. And I would used to try to like. And I'd do it again. Yeah. Like I used to try to like bend over backwards to be like, well, I said. And you know what? Normal is having different rules for different people. So like even though chatting Tatum is the same age as Tom Brady.
35:57Right. That's exactly what I was thinking. Channing Tatum and Alex Earl, we would love. Obviously. Like, I don't know. Just some people are different. And I feel like we should celebrate the uniquity of all different people. It's true. Like, we're not all the same. It's what we said. Like, if Kelly Clarkson got a DUI, like, that would be okay. She obviously needed it. Needed it. Like, look at what she's been through. Like, her toxic divorce and our ex-husband passing away. Like, sometimes you need to have a martini and go for a drive. Okay? But Jess and Timberlake, not fucking cool. Jail. Think about public safety.
36:27Jail. Like actually jail. Yeah. Prison. Yeah. Cuff him up. Lock her up. Throw away the key, Bruna. Bruna-na. What's her name? Bruna-na. What's her name? Bruna-na. What's her name? What's her name? What's her name? Thank you. Yeah. Thank you, Shawn Mendes. And what does Bruna do? She's a Brazilian actress. I need to watch some of her movies. Okay. Honestly, with all this talk of Bruna, I feel like it's a great segue into today's sponsor. Graza. Graza. This episode of The Toast is brought to you by Graza. Everybody knows the Parsi cooking oil that's kind of taking the cooking world, specifically the internet cooking world, by storm.
37:04Because I saw everyone cooking with Graza. And then Ben brought it home and I was like, oh, okay. Clearly all the internet chefs. I just want to say I cook with Graza all their different formulas. And I found it like on my own. So it is the olive oil of choice for many people, including ourselves. It is delicious. It's easy to use. It's extra virgin olive oil at an affordable everyday price. So Graza is always fresh. They pick, press, and bottle all their olives in the same season. You can even see the harvest date on every bottle. They have not one but two EVOO, as Rachel Ray used to say, to stock your kitchens with.
37:36One for drizzle, one for sizzle. Yeah, one for squeeze bottle, also one for glass bottle if you're in your glass area, which I know you are. The sizzle, which is everyday cooking oil, perfect for roasting, sautéing, and anything you're cooking. They also have the drizzle, which is a punchy, more flavorful finishing oil that's great for dipping bread, whipping up salad dressing, even drizzling over ice cream. So that's when I first saw Graza. I saw somebody on TikTok drizzling EVOO over ice cream. I was like, that's crazy. Why are you looking at me like that? No, I thought I was. That's all I wanted to say.
38:01So head to graza.co, G-R-A-Z-A dot C-O. Use our code toast to get 10 % off and get to cook in your next chef's quality meal. So that's Graza, G-R-A-Z-A. Also, great thing to bring to somebody's house if you're just like going over, like for a gift that's not like, you know, what everybody brings, flowers. That's really beautiful, Claudia. Graza.co, code toast. Today's episode is also brought to you by Taylor Farms. Taylor Farms is back. I feel like everybody knows about Taylor Farms, like from us, honestly. And it's salad in a bag. And I know what you guys are thinking, like yucky salad in a bag.
38:30Like that's brown. That's musty. No, no. So Taylor Farms, everything you think you know about salad in a bag, throw it out of your mind. Taylor Farms is fresh. It's pre-wash. It's pre-chopped. And they have like a genius over there coming up with all their different recipes. Of course, they've got the bases covered, you know, like regular Caesar, sort of the standard basics when it comes to salad. but they are also churning out just unique flavors, unique salads. Like what's your favorite Taylor Farms? I know you have one like every day. So I love the Caesar because it's a tabula rasa. I love Mediterranean crunch because I love a little Mediterranean flavoring.
39:05And then I also love the sweet kale. I actually have one in my fridge right now. I'm going to have it for lunch. I'm going to put a little goat cheese on top. Well, if you don't like to cook or chop or make dishes, really Taylor Farms, you don't actually technically need to put it in a bowl. You can eat it right out of the bag. but okay I guess we could do one dish we could put the bowl yeah yeah um there's no chopping slicing or leaving half a cabbage in your fridge it's yummy toppings dressing mix it up it's super customizable so everything comes pre-washed pre-cut it's just like for someone like me it's really a game changer and lettuce is like cut into small shredded bits yeah I'm like a huge leaf okay because if I'm gonna eat a salad which I am doing a lot of these days like it has to be shredded to oblivion like I want it to be mulch if we can eat salads you can too okay grab a Taylor Farms Chopped Salad Kit today.
39:48Get your salad together. Thank you. You're welcome. You're welcome. Our next story splitsville for Ali Wong and Bill Hader after two years of dating over two years. They have split. These are two that I kind of thought we're going to be together forever. It just seemed to make a lot of sense. They they passed the two year threshold and sailed off into the sunset and then came back and broke up. Yeah I kind of like didn't know they were together because there was like a year-long period. No a couple of years where Bill Hader was like seen out with a bunch of different famous women who were like in my opinion a little bit out of his league there was Anna Kendrick there was Rachel Bilson and Ali Wong and I just wasn't sure who the most recent one was I kind of thought it was Rachel Bilson so I can't really mourn a loss I didn't know was still thriving and apparently it wasn't but I do feel like there are people out there that are going to be taking this really hard oh yeah like quirky people quirky comedy follower followers of comedy yeah um who are really wrapped up in this yeah they have to unwrap themselves and I just feel like Bill Hader, like what preceded, you'll be able to answer this question, what preceded Bill Hader's like dating a couple of women out of his league?
40:51Brainwreck. Yeah, I think he should send Amy Schumer like a thank you card for like making everyone in the world think Bill Hader was cute. Because before that, he was just like the funny guy, like period. Yeah. I don't think anybody thought about him in a romantic or sexual way. And when Amy cast him for like her first big movie, I was definitely like, okay, curious choice. And I was wrong. And in that movie, he's so cute. And very desirable. Yeah. And he's like this doctor and he's working on a Mari Stoudemire's knee. And it's just, it's attractive. And then he went and dated Rachel Summer. Summer Roberts from the OC.
41:21That never would have happened without Amy Schumer. So I just, I hope he thanks her. The way that like, the way that Taylor Swift sends Kelly Clarkson flowers every year on the anniversary of the date that Kelly Clarkson tweeted, like, hey, Taylor, I'm sorry that you don't have your masters. Why don't you rerecord them? And it was just like this earnest thing. And now she sends Kelly flowers every year. I feel like on the day that Trainwreck came out, Bill Hader should send Amy Schumer flowers. Agreed. Maybe he does. Maybe people in movies just do that for other people in movies. No, actually, what I've learned as like a sick person obsessed with celebrities is like the way that movies mean the world to us means nothing to them.
41:53It was just like a week of work for them. Do you know what I mean? Because I remember, I forget what I was. One of my favorite Gwyneth Paltrow movies is Up in the Air. Have you ever seen it? Yeah, the Flight Attendant. Flight Attendant movie. And it was like this random one movie with Kelly Preston. It's like star studded. And I think she was on Watch What Happens Live or somewhere where they brought it up. And you could tell like she maybe had even forgotten that she did the movie. When you've done so many movies and it's just work for you. It's not like culture. They literally don't care. Yes, but on the other hand, when they're on the press tour for the movie.
42:25They make you think. Yeah, and they're like, this character just. Will stay with me forever. Spoke to me. And in a year, they're going to be like, what was that character's name? Yeah, so I guess they are professional liars. That's what acting is. Like being deranged. Yeah. Being a crazy person. Thinking you're someone else. Right, and like lying to everyone for a year because like more often than not, years down the road, that movie that meant the world to you, your favorite actress like probably doesn't even know that they were in it. And I say this as like I love Gwyneth and she literally had no idea.
42:53Maybe it wasn't up in the air because I actually feel like either she was talking, whatever. Maybe I'm lying. So just like it happens all the time. I agree with you. They were like, wait, was I in that? That happens all the time on Watch Happens Live. That's funny. Because they go into the vault. Yeah, and they're like, wait, what? You have to like study your own career in order to have a good performance on Watch Happens Live. Yeah. Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Yeah. An aforementioned story, which is that Luke Holmes announces his new album, The Way I Am, coming out. He set his release for his sixth studio album, including a new track, Sleepless in a Hotel Room, which dropped yesterday, with an announcement.
43:29He said, it's been a long process getting this thing going, but I'm really proud of this record. I've loved the song Sleepless in a Hotel Room for a long time, and it's been awesome to see how excited the fans are for that one as well. This is his first full-length album since 2024's Fathers and Sons, which was really for... It was like an EP. It was a moment in time for people who could relate, which was literally me, but not like banger season. We haven't had like a banger album since the album before Fathers and Sons, which was what? And which was released when? Growing up and getting older.
44:00So it was getting older. Those were the two albums. And that was released probably 2023. It's been a minute. And you know what? I just want to say I'm ready. like I'm spending a lot of time in my car like I'm ready oh yeah I wanted to ask you like what do you think about commuter life I know that you like commute at home but you're in an uber like you don't play your music like yeah what do you think about like driving with your music and coming into the office so at home I really like going to work like the city's on fire especially when you're doing like commuter hours um here like it's definitely annoying to have to like load up my car um I can't lie like you're asking me a question that I don't have like a fully formed like I I don't know.
44:36I haven't thought about it. Oh, you're not enjoying the experience, like, listening to your music? No. Windows Down. Maybe once I have a new Luke album, I will. Windows Down? I haven't, like, thought much about it, honestly. Oh. Okay. I guess we're not having, like, the same thing. To me, like, commuting is simply just, like, a means to an end. It's just, like, getting from A to B. A to B. Yeah. You're not, like, enjoying the journey? It's about the destination? Actually, when I get in my car, it is about the destination. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. I'll just fuck off. No, no. With, like, my commuter energy.
45:04Don't. Your commuter energy looks mighty tasty. I don't know if I'll ever get over the fact that you said that. I feel like as a community, we're not talking about it enough. I think the community will talk about it. What should we name today's episode? Looking mighty tasty? Looking mighty tasty, which we do, you know? Hello. Like, look at me. Strengths and weaknesses. Bruna. Bruna. Oh, Bruna. how is Bruno? Bruno was wearing a cone over the Christmas break yeah he was wearing a cone for a few weeks I would post the cone but not explain what happened. Yeah you were rage baiting everyone I guess so I just like didn't want to take the time to also Zach took him to the vet so I didn't have a full understanding.
45:46All I knew is that they wanted to charge me thousands for Bruno. Yeah Jackie's on to Big Pet. You guys Big Pet is out of control. If I wasn't on to them it's just unfortunate that you are on to Big Pet with a pet who happens to have just like a lot of random health issues I know but that's why I'm on to Big Pet that's why it has to be me. You've seen the underbelly But if it were up to Big Pet, I would have spent four grand on Bruno over the Christmas break. I was able to get the bill down to like a couple hundred, like 200 max dollars. He wasn't able to keep one eye open for a few days. At first, I did think he was being dramatic and that would clear up on his own.
46:18But what actually happened was one night he threw up in the middle of the night and there was red in his throw up. So I was like, oh, my baby can't keep an eye open. He's throwing up blood. Great. Time to go to the vet. But obviously this is the end. Right. For Bruda. Rip Bruda. So we went to the vet and they said the eye thing is like an ulcer thing. They'll give him drops and it'll cure up. He threw up last night. That was unrelated. I was like, oh, the two things are unrelated. Get out of here. Like I just thought it was like a combo of disastrousness. And then upon reflection in the photos of the vomit, we concluded that it wasn't throw up.
46:55It wasn't blood. It was he probably just ate some strawberries. Red dye number five. Yeah. Right. So he wasn't throwing up. but it was just like Bruno likes to throw up in the night. That's his favorite time to throw up. And he loves to do it on the rug when the hardwood is right there. Okay. So that's like a universal dog thing. They love to, they have the courtesy to hop out of your bed to throw up. I think it's more comfortable for them, but just taking that one extra step onto the hardwood is too much. He literally threw up in both corners of the rug, which was really special meant a lot to me and to Zach who did clean it up.
47:26So he threw up normal cause you know, he likes to eat acorns in the backyard and then throw up in the middle of the night. That's like Bruno's thing. And his eye was just like a little ulcer, which he needed drops for. And then he needed to wear a cone so that he wouldn't paw at the drops. Because if he did, he could go blind. Which I do feel like is Bruno's next era. Like the blind Bruno era. Think of the content. I think Bruno needs a patch, first of all. Yes. And then I know people would say, why didn't you get him the cozy cone? So I ordered Bruno a cozier cone. Because anything for my baby boy.
47:58And he could still paw at himself. then Margo came to my house and she was like she was like animal control like she was beside herself that we would keep him in this cone and so big like the injustice of it also she took it upon herself to order him a cone and again it was not the right cone so she like everyone can understand like we tried to be in this huge cone and that was Bruno's reality now they did want me to get blood work for Bruno just in case he was throwing up and I said you know what let me see if he throws up again and then we can order the money yeah and he did not throw up again because i know my boy they don't know bruno they see all these symptoms they're like raising the alarm right right this is bruno doing bruno things like he has a new baby at home of course he's going to try and go for some attention right a velcro baby bruno is a velcro baby all my babies are velcro baby it's true i love them well that's our show that's our show so thank you for all your well wishes towards Bruno it meant the world to him tomorrow's our final episode of the week I mean that flew you think so yeah because I was having so much fun oh I was definitely having fun but I guess it was just like you know my first week back well it's not right but there was just a lot going on so I felt like every day felt like a full you guys thank you so much for listening to the toast on my morning show where we deliver the fast five stories that you need to know every Monday through Friday on YouTube so if you're watching us on YouTube please feel free to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up we're also available as a podcast and where podcasts can be found so it's Spotify, iTunes, Stitcher, Public Radio, Podcast Box, all the places with us in the podcast.
