In short
The Toast hosts (Toast: Jackson Claude and “Koji’s Corner”) discuss Golden Globes 2026 highlights, then review the movie People We Meet on Vacation, and share a critical, anecdotal recap of a Ringling Brothers circus outing in Miami with their kids. They also debate TV/film aesthetics (“Netflix lighting”), casting choices, and the circus’s modern relevance.
Guests
No guests appear in this transcript. The only named people are the hosts and various celebrities mentioned in segments (e.g., Nikki Glaser, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie, Timothee/Timothy, Rose Byrne, etc.).
Key claims
- Golden Globes: Nikki Glaser’s monologue was praised as funny without being mean; podcast categories were a “great start,” with Amy winning.
- People We Meet on Vacation: the hosts criticize the “love triangle” premise as implausible and call the book “mid,” but say the movie is “adorable.”
- Circus: Ringling Brothers needs better music/song choices and show packaging; clowns are absent; the arena was underfilled; kids were bored by long screen-time segments.
Notable examples
- Golden Globes winners cited include: Best Drama “Hamlet,” Best Animated Film “K-pop Demon Hunters,” Best Actor Drama Wagner Mora, Best Actress Drama Jessie Buckley, Best Director Paul Thomas Anderson, Best Actor Comedy/Musical Timothée Chalamet, and Best Actress Comedy/Musical Rose Byrne.
- Circus specifics: a “fake robot dog,” trapeze/acrobats/unicycles, and a standout “hot pretzel” described as the best ever; performers allegedly included martial-arts-inspired choreography and a host “Ryan” from High School Musical.

The fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. welcome back to the toast and happy monday hope everybody's having a par delicious definition kicking off to their week um hey jacks how you doing very good second week of the new year sitting in koji's corner welcome to koji's corner i think everyone always says like you guys should do another podcast like recap podcast koji's corner is what the world needs and i think
0:45Claudia Oshry:it would be nominated for a golden globe just saying and that's how koji sees it yes i did
0:51Jackie Oshry:watch the Golden Globes. I watched, it's actually amazing what I was able to accomplish this weekend just as like a regular girl. I spent so much time with my family. I spent time outside. I watched everything on planet earth. It's amazing. Like what I was personally able to accomplish, like in wake windows, in nap windows, I should really receive some sort of motherhood and business owner award for all the TV that you watched.
1:11Claudia Oshry:Yes.
1:12Jackie Oshry:People we meet on vacation, the movie I watched all three episodes of traders. I watched the Golden Globes. I would say I made it of Sunset. I'm refusing to call it the Valley Persian style because that's a bad name and the show already had a name. It's called the Shaz of Sunset. One of the best names of any show ever made. I watched so much. I'm so prepared to be seated here with you today.
1:32Claudia Oshry:I watched half of Shaz of Sunset Persian style in the Valley doing Persia in the Valley. Yeah.
1:37Jackie Oshry:Persia Valley style.
1:38Claudia Oshry:I liked it in general, but it was really crazy to watch it like this weekend. Like just a lot. Yes,
1:44Jackie Oshry:that's true. They're always talking about the geopolitical climate of Iran. The show just
1:48Claudia Oshry:start saying like a lot of Persians and Iranians moved to LA during the revolution during the revolution and and it's like they're unrevolutionizing right now I actually think that they
1:59Jackie Oshry:will end up covering it next season because one thing about the Shah is like they're not going to shy away from uncomfortable conversations about geopolitical issues about religion like they went well they tried to they couldn't go to Iran but they went to Israel actually and then like walked
2:12Claudia Oshry:up to the border and they went to Turkey too um maybe they'll go if Iran becomes free they will Oh my God. Brand trip. Brand trip. But I feel like the old Shaz very much went there all the time. Yeah. Every day. Yeah. So I, I've only watched half of this first season, but I, I feel like times have changed and like, they're not going to do that as much.
2:32Jackie Oshry:Well, I do feel like the show was ahead of its time. The original show Shaz of Sunset. Yes. I don't see them going like super deep. But one thing about like Reza is like, he's going to do what he wants. He's kind of an amazing reality star in the sense. Like he actually doesn't give a fuck. Like he will talk about things that he wants to talk about.
2:46Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
2:46Jackie Oshry:um the show like did have that valley edit like spice which like i didn't like like what i don't know just like boring valley do you know what i mean that's like the point i know but the thing about the shots is like they're not like anyone else so trying to put them in a show like shots i'm too i'm too close to it obviously like i was obsessed with the original show and this new show is good i'm glad we have mercedes like the ogs but i don't know them trying to give it like the lala kent edit i don't know it's just not working.
3:15Claudia Oshry:Yeah, well, I've only seen I'm just getting acquainted. Oh, and to be clear, I saw
3:18Jackie Oshry:one episode. Right.
3:19Claudia Oshry:I'm still meeting everyone, so I'm not, like, calling it or anything, but I enjoyed what I did watch. Me too. And I watched Traders, all three episodes. Same. It was a grind, but I'm glad that I did because now I'm like, I care. Yep. I have so many thoughts about the show and the format and this season in particular, but I know I'm going to, like, frustrate people with what I have to say about the format.
3:38Jackie Oshry:Well, we're going to do, our fifth and final story is an official Traders recap, so in case you're not caught up, we're going to save it all for that.
3:44Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
3:45Jackie Oshry:Now, can I tell you how much People We Meet on Vacation? Did you read that book? I did. I didn't like the book, but I've heard that the movie is very good. So people feel one of two ways. I think if you're like really like it's your favorite book ever, then you hate the movie just because you're too close to it. And I can't, honestly, I can't take your opinion seriously because I'm judging the movie as a movie. I read the book years ago. Do I remember all the nuances? No. I just remember that they take a trip every year and they're obviously in love, but they pretend like they're not. The movie was so stupid.
4:11Jackie Oshry:Of course. I hate when people like fight love. No, not only that. at your big age, like you're not able to identify a feeling. Like you obviously like him.
4:18Claudia Oshry:And you have, you're a straight woman. You have a straight male best friend who you love, you travel with, you do everything with. Like you're married, get married.
4:26Jackie Oshry:Every time like your romantic partner or his romantic partner comes on a trip, it ends in disaster.
4:30Claudia Oshry:Because like everyone can sense the feelings between the two of you.
4:33Jackie Oshry:Both of your partners hate the other person because you're obviously in love. I just, I hate that shit. And you're wasting other people's time. And you're literally 30 at this point. You do have to suspend disbelief. You have to like not be a smart person to just like read the book and enjoy it. I thought the book was extremely mid. I remember being like, oh, this is a book everyone's talking about. Like, it's fine. And then it launched Emily Henry. Like, Emily Henry is like a Colleen. Every time she has a book, it's like, who's going to get the rights? And it's a bestseller. And I happen to believe she's an industry plant.
4:58Jackie Oshry:Like, she writes like very, very mid, like low.
5:01Claudia Oshry:People like mid, low IQ.
5:04Jackie Oshry:Low IQ individuals, yeah.
5:05Claudia Oshry:No, no, but like, and I read mid, low IQ books sometimes because it's comforting to just like read something where I don't have to, my brain doesn't have to work hard. Yeah, yeah. But this book sort of launched. That all sounded very insulting, but like I didn't mean any of it as an insult to anyone.
5:18Jackie Oshry:I wasn't as a low IQ individual. I was not.
5:20Claudia Oshry:We're like the authors who write for them. They know what they said.
5:24Jackie Oshry:There's a cover for every pot. There's an audience for every writer.
5:26Claudia Oshry:Not every book needs to be Da Vinci Code.
5:29Jackie Oshry:Barbara Kingsolver.
5:30Claudia Oshry:Not every book can be. Well, that's true.
5:34Jackie Oshry:So having said all of that, I was just watching this movie like as a movie. I knew a little bit about the book. I thought it was adorable. Like it was super cute. it have you heard about this thing called netflix lighting no so they say now if you watch like a movie from like the early 2000s and a movie now like you can tell that they were made in different times because every movie now has this thing called netflix lighting and i don't like i don't know how to describe it but i know what they're talking about like all movies look the same now they look like tv shows like they just look like they were made on netflix you know i guess but also like technology has changed yeah but it's also more like an aesthetic than like technology Like it's still all high quality.
6:09Jackie Oshry:It just like looks Netflix. Okay. And I thought this movie really had Netflix lighting because I just learned about the phenomenon and I was really focused on that the whole time.
6:16Claudia Oshry:Do we have Netflix lighting?
6:18Jackie Oshry:No, I would say we're so different and unique, you know?
Read the full transcript
6:21Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
6:22Jackie Oshry:Netflix can handle it.
6:23Claudia Oshry:We have sort of like startup, industrious, maverick lighting.
6:27Jackie Oshry:Yeah, very much like boots, like, you know. Bootstrap. Bootstrap. Maverick. Maverick.
6:34Claudia Oshry:I feel the lighting is very maverick. Maverick.
6:37Jackie Oshry:Yeah, kind of renegade.
6:40Claudia Oshry:Maverick.
6:41Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Both of the actors who were cast, I feel like when books get turned into movies, there's so much fan casting. Like, I want Sabrina Carpenter to play. And they picked two randoms, two nobodies. I'd never heard of either of these people in my life, and they were such good actors. Like, bring back acting good. Do you know what I mean? I feel like, with the Golden Globes, Brittany Snow was there, and it was a reminder to me that The Hunting Wads was nominated for something, which is so crazy. Like it was a bad show with bad acting that we loved because it was bad. And I feel like people who meet on vacation remind me like you don't have to act bad.
7:12Jackie Oshry:Like you can be good at acting.
7:15Claudia Oshry:And you can also like cast new people who are good actors. Not everyone. I read were those two like unknown people.
7:21Jackie Oshry:To me, I think they were.
7:23Claudia Oshry:Like studios like try and get people with like big social media followings. And it's just like it's so lame. I'm not watching your movie because you told like I'll watch a movie because I want to see the movie. cast the right people for the job, please.
7:35Jackie Oshry:A thousand percent.
7:36Claudia Oshry:Like influencers can stay influencers.
7:38Jackie Oshry:Big casting news. I don't know if you saw they have cast Rapunzel live action. People really thought it was going to be Sabrina Carpenter as Punzi.
7:45Claudia Oshry:Isn't she being Alice in Wonderland? Oh, is she? Well, she's so Rapunzel. She's being something.
7:50Jackie Oshry:Well, she's not Rapunzel. I believe it was a no name. I didn't know her. And then Milo Manheim is Flynn Rider. Does that mean anything to you?
7:59Claudia Oshry:Milo Manheim from Dancing with the Stars.
8:01Jackie Oshry:From Dancing with the Stars fame. And I was like, oh, well, he surely must have done something after Dancing with the Stars because he's, you know, got this role. And when I was reading, like, the Variety article, it was like Milo Manheim of Dancing with the Stars fame. No, I swear.
8:12Claudia Oshry:But he's in Naked Brothers Band.
8:14Jackie Oshry:Is he? Like, I don't know him besides.
8:15Claudia Oshry:And he's, like, in a couple movies like Home Again, you know? He's one of those guys like Nate.
8:20Jackie Oshry:Okay, you're thinking of Nate and Alex Wolfe who are in Home Again and the Naked Brothers Band.
8:24Claudia Oshry:He is Milo Manheim-Wolfe. He's their stepbrother. He's not, but I would like to. He's one of them. Is he? He's of that elk. I get a lot of DMs asking me like what they've forgotten what word I'm like supposed to be using instead of elk. And I just want to let you guys know, like I use elk, but I know the real word is elk. In case you're like in a serious situation, you need to know the actual word. It's elk. I-L-K.
8:50Jackie Oshry:So Milo Mannheim's brother is Cameron Mannheim.
8:53Claudia Oshry:No, but he's in stuff with the Wolf Brothers. Is he? For sure. For sure.
8:59Jackie Oshry:Like I feel that call.
9:00Claudia Oshry:Thank you. I think it's home again. Weren't there three guys? But I don't think that Milo Manheim was in Home Again. What was stopping him? Probably Dancing with the Stars. Milo Manheim movies and TV shows. Let's go. Oh, no. People say like Milo Manheim. Zombies. What? I love zombies.
9:20Jackie Oshry:Yeah. This is like a little Gen Z for me. I don't know Milo Manheim. Literally just zombies. Cool. At least they were in one thing together. That's kind of crazy.
9:28Claudia Oshry:And zombies is like one, two, three, and four. it's a it's so that's you know them from zombies well i have seen zombies one and two what yeah like with the kids yeah yeah yeah like when i like to watch descendants like i was like you should watch zombies and it was cute but it was no descendants got it but i under but it definitely like had riz okay riz um and then he's in a bunch of other stuff that i'm sure you guys will shout at me in the comments that he's in but nothing that i've seen you know so don't like so he's
9:57Jackie Oshry:from Dancing with the Stars.
9:58Claudia Oshry:So if you were going to write, like, he's in Thanksgiving, just write, you girls look beautiful today.
10:02Jackie Oshry:If you were going to write anything, just write, you girls look beautiful today. Imagine if we just flooded the comments with, you girls look beautiful today.
10:09Claudia Oshry:That would be so sweet.
10:10Jackie Oshry:And it's because I had such a productive, well-balanced weekend. Watch the Golden Globes, which we are going to talk about, I assume, in the stories. First story. Kylie was there. Everyone was kind of there.
10:20Claudia Oshry:Yeah. It looked like, you know, it was okay. Yeah, it looked cool if you were into that sort of thing.
10:24Jackie Oshry:I know, and I really, like, was not wanting to watch it because I was just like, there's so many things I could be doing with my Sunday. I'm going to watch this crapola, self-congratulatory. But then I was like, it is my job and I'm committed to the craft and I'm sure it'll come up in tomorrow's show. So I did watch it. I went to bed about 10 o 'clock and Nikki Glaser said, we're halfway through the show. I said, you're kidding. I just watched enough. I saw Timothy win. I saw the speech. There were a couple of things I needed to say. I needed to make sure Hannah Einbender lost, which she did, which was great for non-insufferable people everywhere.
10:57Jackie Oshry:Mark Ruffalo lost. It was kind of an amazing night for me. And some of my faves did win. Timotei. So we'll get into it.
11:05Claudia Oshry:Any other faves?
11:05Jackie Oshry:No, I'm trying to think. The one. We're going up, up, up. It's our moment. Did that win? You know what I mean? Of course. And they won non-English film as well. The movie. I know that that song is from a movie. Yeah.
11:19Claudia Oshry:Okay, yeah. If they're nominated for anything, everyone else. Oh, no, I'm sorry.
11:21Jackie Oshry:They best nominated. They won best animation.
11:24Claudia Oshry:It's an animated movie?
11:25Jackie Oshry:I guess. I thought it was a competition show about finding the next K-pop star.
11:29Claudia Oshry:Oh, I thought it was like people's, like a teeny, like a descendant. It's like just like people acting in K-pop.
11:37Jackie Oshry:No, I'm pretty sure it's like a fairy, right? Yeah.
11:40Claudia Oshry:I didn't know it was animated.
11:40Jackie Oshry:She's like a fairy, like Tinkerbell vibe.
11:42Claudia Oshry:I didn't know it was animated, but I just want to say I don't know anything about K-pop Demon Hunters except for the song. I completely support K-pop Demon Hunters.
11:49Jackie Oshry:No, and the woman giving the speech actually almost brought me to tears. She was like, it is so amazing to see like this global movie be so widely obsessed and accepted when it's so deeply rooted in Korean culture. Like they don't have big moments like that a lot. And she was so proud. And I was proud for it. I was like getting choked up. I love K-pop demon hunters and I know nothing about it because we're going up, bump, bump in our moment. You know, together we're going. And also I love, and I feel like we said this when. That's my register. I don't think so. when BTS had in the spots tonight.
12:23Jackie Oshry:And it's just like feel good, joyful music. And that's what K-pop Demon Hunter is. Like the message is amazing. That song is so good. Like it lifts spirits. It bridges generational gaps. I love.
12:34Claudia Oshry:I also feel like the kids haven't had like had a hit this big. I want to say since Trolls. Frozen, Let It Go. Yeah. That took over the world. Yeah. You know, there's not there. I feel like, and I'm not into K-pop. I feel like it's for like older kids and it's girly. What is K-pop demon hunters? I see all the girls dressed up for, for Halloween with a long braid. That's how you know what's in the culture. Like the Halloween costumes, everyone was K-pop demon hunters. I'm happy for you guys. Yeah. I support it.
13:05Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
13:06Claudia Oshry:Maybe we should watch it. I didn't know it was animated. That would be weird to watch.
13:09Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I have a really low bar for animation. I'm not into, and I know that's like a part of parenthood where it's like, you just kind of have to watch these movies. And I just feel like that's going to be Ben's for like, Ben is obsessed with Disney. I'll be in the other room watching reality TV Wake me up when it's over
13:21Claudia Oshry:Understood So yeah, let's get into Should we get into it? I feel like we didn't fully PFFB
13:28Jackie Oshry:PFFB
13:30Claudia Oshry:Do you want to tell everyone about the circus?
13:31Jackie Oshry:Oh my god, I do We went to the circus in Miami on Saturday With all the kids It was my first outing as a mom You guys always do stuff like that And I was so happy to be there Let me tell you what they don't tell you about the circus She has some notes. I actually have so many thoughts and notes. And I feel like it must be really hard for the creative directors. Can we enter the Ringling Brothers? I don't know if there are other ones. So it was the one.
13:54Claudia Oshry:It wasn't like a bootleg.
13:55Jackie Oshry:No, no. It was like official. Like circus.
13:57Claudia Oshry:Like Ringling Barnum Broke.
13:59Jackie Oshry:And they were saying this. Ain't no party like a Ringling party because a Ringling party don't stop. Me and your husband would not stop saying that. Ain't no party like a Ringling party because a Ringling party don't stop. And I have so many thoughts. I do feel sad for like whoever's job it is to like come up with the songs and the choreography and stuff. It must be really, really hard for them to not tap into the greatest showman soundtrack. It must be like there must be a reason why they don't, whether it's like it's too expensive to clear because I felt really stupid being there, not listening to any.
14:25Jackie Oshry:And they couldn't even they need to.
14:26Claudia Oshry:They need to rewrite the stars for Trapeze. Yes.
14:29Jackie Oshry:And Zach was just like, well, they just need to do a greatest showman tour for kids. It doesn't need to be the Ringling. It would be nice if they all like I just felt so stupid. I was sitting there being like, whoa, whoa. Now, I do believe like woke culture, sorry not to sound like Bill Maher, woke culture has ruined the circus. And I'm actually down, you know. I don't wish long for the days where we're like, you know, abusing animals, like staring at the freaks.
14:54Claudia Oshry:So I just feel like the circus like needs to end. And it's like, what are you showcasing if not the things that you used to showcase at the circus, which I'm not. Nobody wants to see that.
15:05Jackie Oshry:No, because I'm not saying like that it's bad that woke culture, like that's where woke slayed, you know. We don't need to be doing that. But what goes on at the circus if not that? I'm not sure. What did you guys go for, actually? So there was a fake dog, a robot dog. It was actually stupid. Trapeze, acrobats, trampolines. That's the thing. It's a two-hour show. There was an intermission.
15:29Claudia Oshry:And that's like Cirque du Soleil. How do they differentiate themselves?
15:32Jackie Oshry:The trapeze was really amazing. I was awestruck. The kids at that point, I think, were really over it. I was like, wait, we're just getting started. Some of the other tricks were like cool, unicycle. I don't know. I just feel like as a society, we have moved past the need for a circus. Although I hate to cut children's programming for the arts, you know? I feel like, you know, Miss Darbus, the arts are so important.
15:53Claudia Oshry:But I do feel like the circus needs to evolve. And that's on them to figure out.
15:57Jackie Oshry:I know. And that's on The Greatest Showman. That's on Pasek and Paul.
16:01Claudia Oshry:The Greatest Showman can barely get their musical theater production on Broadway off the ground. They're not taking on a world tour. So that's why Ringling Brothers should collaborate. with Greatest Chummon. I didn't go to the circus because I was home with Max. So like I missed all of this.
16:14Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and I forgot to fill you in. And this is probably not a reflection.
16:17Claudia Oshry:But I heard my husband on the phone on my desk. He was like catching up with friends and family. Like I heard the soundbite over and over again. The circus is not what it used to be.
16:24Jackie Oshry:And your husband like could knock it over the fact that there were no clowns.
16:26Claudia Oshry:Yeah, which I guess are clowns canceled.
16:29Jackie Oshry:I think they're considered really spooky. Like it's not family friendly if there are clowns. Clowns like most kids are afraid of.
16:36Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I'm not.
16:37Jackie Oshry:Oh, and to be clear, I'm not the only person who thought this way. The arena was less than 50 % full. I thought we got there early. Now, this is more of a reflection on this arena, the Kasaya Arena, more so than the Ringling Brothers. Let me tell you some of the best food I've ever had. I had this fucking hot pretzel. And I'm from New York City. Like, I know good hot pretzels. The best pretzel I've ever had in my entire life. Like, the Zetbound could not stop me from housing this fucking pretzel. And I had to eat it behind the kids because the kids were, like, just getting, like, little popcorn.
17:04Jackie Oshry:And I was like literally hiding behind a chair like we were at fat camp eating this fucking pretzel. It was so delicious, like so salty, so soft. It was literally disintegrate. It felt like cotton candy. Like it was fucking amazing. And everyone agreed.
17:17Claudia Oshry:Oh, wow. Looks like we have to take in a heat game at the Cat's Eye Arena.
17:20Jackie Oshry:Oh, Cat's Eye.
17:20Claudia Oshry:No, that's Demon Hunters.
17:23Jackie Oshry:I think it's called the Kasaya Arena, something like that. Kasaya, yeah. Yeah. This pretzel was so good, you guys. It's like I haven't – like that's what I came home and talked to people about, not the music or anything.
17:34Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
17:35Jackie Oshry:And they were just playing Doja Cat and popular music. It felt weird. It felt weird. No, like,
17:45Jackie Oshry:Like Love Run DMC. At the circus? I don't know. It just didn't matter. They should have played.
17:50Claudia Oshry:Of course not.
17:51Jackie Oshry:Like, nothing. It was really weird. And then I got to thinking about the performers. You know, of course, as an empath. Who are they? Yeah. Where do they come from? As an empath, I couldn't help but look at these people and wonder, how do you become a performer on the circus? Like, it's not like they live in Miami. Like, they're traveling. They're off to North Carolina. And what's it like to be in the traveling circus?
18:12Claudia Oshry:And is it like, is that your stated goal? Or is it, you know, you were a gymnast and now you're doing circus and then you're going to, you know, you go on to do other things?
18:21Jackie Oshry:So we were actually, we were discussing that as well, your husband and I, about how a lot of them, especially in the trapeze, were probably on some sort of Olympic track at one point. because they were that sophisticated in their...
18:33Claudia Oshry:That's how it felt on Disney on Ice.
18:34Jackie Oshry:So Olivia was being such a fucking know-it-all. She's so funny. Like, when it started, like, we just knew it wasn't going to be, like, amazing. And she was like, we have to go to Disney on Ice. She was just being like that mom who's, like, done it all already, and I'm new here. She was like, have you seen Disney on Ice? I'm like, why the fuck would I have seen Disney on Ice? And she was like, it's so much better. Like, you really have to go see it. And I was like, okay, like, take me.
18:54Claudia Oshry:Well, the thing is, like, Disney on Ice has a lot to pull from. Right, a lot of material. Yeah, and really, like, they sort of just rest on their laurels of Pardy. The soundtrack, too. But there's not, like, the circus has to have to do so many things. Like, even if they slayed unicycles, like, okay, and then everyone's like, what's next? It's like, the circus can never be doing enough.
19:12Jackie Oshry:No, and I do want to say about the unicycles, I feel like I use them as an example. They actually were really good.
19:17Claudia Oshry:I saw a video of them jumping on a trampoline on unicycles.
19:19Jackie Oshry:And that wasn't even the most impressive part. Like, we were really, and when I tell you, the kids, like, could not have cared less. They kept, there was a big screen, like, playing the music, and the kids were just watching the screen.
19:27Claudia Oshry:It was two hours of screen time. Literally. No one told me that. Never again.
19:30Jackie Oshry:It was two hours of screen time. You're lying. No, no, I'm totally kidding. It's like they went to a movie. But they did have a big screen. As they should. To like, you know, show what's happening on the floor in case you're up in the rises.
19:41Claudia Oshry:Oh, so they didn't watch the live show. They watched the screen.
19:42Jackie Oshry:They were just like sort of like looking at everything. Sure. Yeah.
19:46Claudia Oshry:Sure.
19:46Jackie Oshry:So I went to the circus.
19:48Claudia Oshry:Great.
19:49Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
19:50Claudia Oshry:Wouldn't recommend, but you had a nice time. I don't know. If you're looking for like, you know.
19:54Jackie Oshry:I love a, you know, a children's activity where we're seated.
19:56Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
19:56Jackie Oshry:You know, a lot of these, you know, motherhood parent activities are physically laborious. And I'm just not at a stage in my life where I can be like squatting and rolling around. You know, music class, like the sitting on the floor, it kills me. My legs fall asleep. My back is broken. I'm hunched over like an actual.
20:09Claudia Oshry:You should bring like one of those chairs, like a cozy creek. A thousand percent. Or like a soccer mom chair.
20:13Jackie Oshry:Yeah. But you need to be on the floor. So you need to be on the floor chair. The sitting at music class, like it's, I'm almost like at my limit. Like I can't do music class anymore. She literally just started. So to be clear, I really like Seated Affair, so I'm not going to clown on the circus. And anytime you guys want to go to like a ticketed event where we're sitting, I'm down.
20:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Okay. Great. Well, thank you.
20:36Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And yeah, consider. I just feel like me giving a negative review is going to be like the final nail in the coffin for Ringling. Like I feel bad.
20:42Claudia Oshry:No, no. I think there's so much potential. Yeah. You know, and agreed. People love children's programming. Disney and I sells that so quick because we're looking for things like that to do.
20:53Jackie Oshry:Right. And so Jackie was literally empty.
20:55Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I could see that in some of the videos. Consider partnership with The Greatest Showman. Don't consider. Pursue actively. And anything can be like renewed and reinvigorated. It's true. You know?
21:09Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah.
21:10Claudia Oshry:You guys have such amazing branding.
21:12Jackie Oshry:Just because you can't like beat the shit out of elephants doesn't mean you can't put on a good show. It doesn't mean you have anything to begin with. No, and it's like try a little harder, honestly.
21:18Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Embrace your inner PT. He would have figured it out.
21:21Jackie Oshry:Okay, so there was a character named Pete. I heard a dragon named PT. Yeah. And there was also like a DJ and there was like a girl. Like she was like show running the whole thing. She was cute. Yeah. I don't know.
21:31Claudia Oshry:The thing is the point of the circus that gets to entertain. So you're saying you can't entertain us. That's not true.
21:36Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah.
21:38Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I feel bad. Yeah.
21:43Jackie Oshry:I feel like maybe some of them were like college cheerleaders too. Cause you know, they talked in cheer about how like there's no professional career for a college cheerleader. You're like collegiate is the highest level that you can perform. And then you have to, what, like go work in marketing. So maybe some of them join the circus.
21:57Claudia Oshry:And actually, it doesn't sound like when you said like you run off and join the circus, like that used to mean something else.
22:03Jackie Oshry:It used to mean you're crazy. No, but like when you just said like they'll just join the circus. Actually, you know what? I was really surprised by it. Now it means like you're a touring artist. I guess. Yeah. A lot of the performers were Asian. And I think that a lot of the like dancing and choreographed style is inspired by like Asian martial arts because it was like a lot of jumping. And that was impressive. That was impressive. And I wasn't expecting that.
22:27Claudia Oshry:It sounds like what they need is like better packaging, like better songs. They need better music. Yeah. And showmanship. Yeah. Like they've got the talent. They've got the stuff.
22:36Jackie Oshry:Like one of the hosts was literally Ryan from High School Musical. Like I couldn't not see it. And he was like having the time of his life. It was cute. It was cute. You know, if you're into that sort of thing.
22:47Claudia Oshry:Okay, well, now I think without further ado, let's get into the Fast Five stories that you do need to know.

23:18Jackie Oshry:And as you guys can see, I'm actually in the middle of one right now.

23:29Jackie Oshry:Protein is huge. They are the best tasting bars out there. They sell them at Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's, and so many more if you're looking for a restock. I'm a super big fan. So many people actually recommended it to me. So thank you to that. I like the chocolate dough flavor. That's a blue box. But actually, over the weekend, Ben bought me a cookies and cream one, the black wrapper. Are you familiar?
23:45Claudia Oshry:I did see you having a cookies and cream one. I know that you love your chocolate.

26:05Claudia Oshry:For me, it's the quality. I want top quality fabric. I like clothes that last. I love when like I have something in my closet from literally 10 years ago. I don't want disposable clothing. So I love quince. I got 100 % European linen pants with a matching top because we've been going to the pool and beach a lot because my sister is here and she's a water sign. So, you know, I love the beach, you guys. Water activities. And I realized like that's what I want to be wearing, like linen pants with a matching.
26:27Jackie Oshry:Right. Something that covers you, but like it's not hot. Yeah.
26:30Claudia Oshry:And like I like a button down for nursing. Leave it open. leave it closed whatever so I ordered a couple sets I love a set and that's what I got what did

27:23Claudia Oshry:Thank you. Our first story, Golden Globes 2026, complete list of winners and other notable moment. Shall we start with winners or start with Nikki Glaser? Let's start with Nikki Glaser. I watched her monologue in the car on the way here. Yes, I drive Humble Bragg and I drive a car by myself. And that's something that I can do. That's great. Whilst listening to a monologue. Yeah, that's crazy. And I thought it was hysterical. I laughed out loud so many times.
27:48Jackie Oshry:Yeah, she is just great at this. And I think it's like a really delicate balance because she's like known for roasting. And sometimes when you come on and roast, it gets uncomfortable. And so it really is like a perfect balance of being funny, being snarky, roasting people in a way that's like not mean, not going to offend anyone. I don't think anybody took anything like to to heart because she didn't say anything that mean except to Kevin Hart. And like she knows him personally, you could tell. I thought she was great. She brings everything. She has the wit, the snark, but she also had like maybe like six or seven outfit changes and she just kept looking like more amazing.
28:18Jackie Oshry:Every time she walked out, they made her, she made them play a Taylor Swift song. Joe Alwyn was in the audience. Like just seriously, that's our girl. That's our girl. and I feel like for the next couple of years we don't need to give this job to anyone else
28:29Claudia Oshry:if it ain't broke don't fix it I haven't like seen anything of any you know awkward moment
28:34Jackie Oshry:no the monologue oh except there was this like song um I didn't I didn't like it and it was like cute at the end because they brought friend gesture out and like she made like your voice is annoying like it was funny but um that one like thing where she just did karaoke to golden from k-pop demon hunters but she like changed the words and wrote like I didn't like that
28:52Claudia Oshry:But was it like offensive and awkward or just not funny and not your favorite?
28:56Jackie Oshry:It wasn't offensive at all.
28:57Claudia Oshry:It wasn't like a Joe Coy.
28:59Jackie Oshry:No, I feel like they had just come back from break. People were still like standing and she's like dancing. They're like, everyone's like schmoozing. It was like, that was just, that was the only low point.
29:05Claudia Oshry:It just didn't hit, but like it wasn't. Bad or offensive. No. Great.
29:08Jackie Oshry:It didn't hit.
29:09Claudia Oshry:I think she should get the job again next year. And I, I would imagine that she will.
29:14Jackie Oshry:I would imagine that she will too. It is the hardest, worst job. And she executes flawlessly every time.
29:20Claudia Oshry:But no, she's putting everyone on notice because it's like you can do this job. Maybe it's not the hardest, worst job. Maybe if you're just a funny person, like it's doable.
29:27Jackie Oshry:That's a really good point.
29:28Claudia Oshry:Because for so long, we're like, it's a thankless job. There's no funny jokes to make with the people in the room. Two years in a row, funny jokes. The audience is laughing. The people are laughing. It's a job that can be done.
29:41Jackie Oshry:Now, I thought that the Golden Globes were so interesting because obviously it's movies and TV. And like I feel like I don't ever really have issues with like who they nominated. They're like, yeah, it's all the good popular shows. But they're like fringe categories that I find really interesting. Of course, last night was the first time they did podcasts. They also do stand-up comedy. And I was really shocked because I had not heard of one of the comedy specials that was nominated. Did you know Kumail Nanjiani had a special? No, but like Sarah Silverman had a special. Bill Maher had a special.
30:12Jackie Oshry:Ricky Gervais was nominated and he won. And yeah, sure, he releases specials a lot. So like I would assume that he had one. I was shocked. I had literally never heard of any of these specials. I just feel like they totally missed the mark on, that's not the specials people were talking about this year. The ones, you know, and it's like more like internet, but like the big podcasters, Andrew Schultz, like that's who people talk about.
30:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I can't say I'm up on the specials these days. I'm really not either. There are so many specials. I've kind of like exited my era of watching the specials.
30:43Jackie Oshry:I feel like people have moved on from comedy specials. Maybe that's like a hot take, But I feel like there were a couple of years where it was like comedy specials.
30:51Claudia Oshry:Or maybe at least for me. And I feel like maybe there was a time where I was like comedy. Yeah. And I was like following more comedians. And someone really has to have a great hook if I'm going to sit down and watch your special. Or like I feel like we watched Ellen's or attempted to. Right. Because of like what I should say. You know. And so when there's not that it's just like here's another special about the last year of my life. Right. If I don't follow you that closely to begin with I don't care. I don't care.
31:13Jackie Oshry:And then the ones that like made waves like that I heard about were just none of these.
31:18Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
31:18Jackie Oshry:Like Golden Globes is a little antiquated given to like these old school comedians. And it's like, yeah, well, you might have had a good special, but no one's talking about it.
31:24Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. I guess the only special I watched last year that I can remember and because you just said it was Andrew Schultz. Right. Right. But I, yeah, maybe there's another one, but you didn't say it. So I don't remember it.
31:35Jackie Oshry:And then with the podcasts, you know what? I didn't even realize I loved, first of all, like them doing a podcast category, like seriously obsessed. And I'm so happy Amy won. And I've actually done like a total 180 on Amy because I really respect that she got up there. I was like, I'm new here. It's such a slay that she has been podcasting the shortest and won. Like, that's huge. And I didn't even realize like the geopolitical climate of her being nominated up against her ex-husband, Will Arnett, from Smartless. And I'm so glad they lost. But every single one nominated was an interview show. I didn't even realize that.
32:04Jackie Oshry:I don't know if Mel Robbins, but she does. She just interviews people. I don't know. Like, what about Justice for the Scripted Shows? You know, there are other types of shows.
32:13Claudia Oshry:Oh, I feel like if you're going to get into scripted shows, that's a different category. Like, well, yes, then it's then it is a podcast award show.
32:20Jackie Oshry:If you're going into genre.
32:21Claudia Oshry:Which we've been needing. And I actually think the more celebrity podcasts there are, like the more there is a need for the potties. Yeah. Because like people, they like to do award shows around celebrities. There is a need for the potties. They're like, oh, we don't need an award show for you slobs. Yeah. So for that reason, this is a great start. I'm looking at everyone who was nominated What's up first? NPR Is that, but not the Daily?
32:46Jackie Oshry:It's like the Daily But the Daily didn't get nominated So there was a very specific criteria as well For who could have even been selected for a nomination
32:54Claudia Oshry:What was the criteria?
32:54Jackie Oshry:You had to be one of the top 25 podcasts So there's only 25 you could have chosen from
32:58Claudia Oshry:That feels right Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Right? Yeah And I'm not mad about Amy winning I think it's crazy that she's been doing it It's crazy. But like the Golden Globes just represent the year of the arts. So like they don't care that you didn't podcast in 2024. Right. Objection relevant. Not their problem. Yeah. So her 2025 year was better than everyone else's according to the Golden Globes. Not better than the toast. But as you said, it was an interview thing.
33:22Jackie Oshry:I hope like GGHQ feels good about the inclusion of podcast categories. I hope they would do it again. Like I really I think it's so good for the medium. It's such a it's such a sign of respect. It's very exciting. It is.
33:34Claudia Oshry:And I think in this case, I'm happy. I'm glad for celebrities that like they're the ones moving the ball.
33:40Jackie Oshry:They really gave us a platform.
33:42Claudia Oshry:They gave us a platform. They uplifted these voices. So let's get into the winner, shall we? Yeah, sorry. Oh, do you have like a best dressed? Oh, I wasn't watching that closely, but I thought Jennifer Lawrence. That was my best dressed.
33:56Jackie Oshry:She looked amazing. Kylie looked amazing.
33:58Claudia Oshry:But seriously, Kylie could wear anything. It's just Kylie is there. Right.
34:02Jackie Oshry:She also didn't walk the carpet. So like, I don't know if we can really include her. It's like, I need to see a red carpet photo.
34:06Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So here are the winners of the major categories. This usually doesn't mean anything to me, but this year more than ever, I've never even heard of some of these. It means less and less. It means so little. Yeah. Best drama was Hamlet. Yeah. And I. It's not Hamlet with a typo.
34:21Jackie Oshry:That's what Nikki Glaser, they did a segment. It was like, oh, let's see the trending searches, what people are looking up. How to spell Hamlet. Oh, that's funny. Something like that. Yeah. It was funny.
34:31Claudia Oshry:I heard your joke about Hamlet. Spanx So that Hamnet beat out Frankenstein It was just an accident That's the name of the movie It was just an accident The Secret Agent Sentimental Value And Sinners I've heard of Sinners
34:46Jackie Oshry:And they won Box Office Achievement Haley Steinfeld was there with her bump Michael B. Jordan was there looking sexy A funny Nikki Glaser joke was I saw Wicked 2 for money Hilarious And they cut to Ariana Grande at that moment She did laugh
35:00Claudia Oshry:I was in my car so I didn't get to watch the reactions yeah because i'm a safe driver oh and the leonardo dicaprio bit was actually very
35:07Jackie Oshry:funny and very true like i was thinking i'm like she made a joke about his girlfriends i'm like i feel like she's smarter than that like that's we're so played out like 25 year old girlfriend and she was like and i have to make that joke because we literally know nothing else about you and it's like yes actually like what does leo like yeah besides 25 year old girls best comedy or musical one battle after another so that was leo's movie guillermo del guillermo um and that's who he went on New Heights with to promote that movie. Okay. That's, yeah, that was just, that's my limited knowledge. Guillermo del Toro?
35:40Jackie Oshry:I feel like it's not Guillermo. Benicio del Toro. Are they brothers?
35:44Claudia Oshry:Or maybe he's Adele something else. I don't think he's Adele Toro.
35:48Jackie Oshry:Yeah, Benicio del blank. He looks like Brad Pitt, by the way. I thought it was Brad Pitt.
35:52Claudia Oshry:Claudia, I thought that they saw a picture from the party and someone was hugging someone that looked like Brad Pitt. So I went to look. I'm like, he's hugging Brad Pitt? Right.
36:00Jackie Oshry:Benicio oh and I have one more thing to say about the wait what's his name Del Toro not brothers no relation I have something else to say I feel like it's gonna be a really unpopular opinion I thought Nikki's bit about George Clooney I've been meaning to ask you something my Nespresso hysterical
36:16Claudia Oshry:hysterical
36:17Jackie Oshry:you didn't watch but like the Fabissina on a mall like girl smile you're on Keanu camera like
36:22Claudia Oshry:I was wondering what she was gonna say I have a question I went after I thought it was gonna be like something vulgar
36:26Jackie Oshry:or like you know cast me in your movie like hilarious.
36:35Jackie Oshry:Like Amal had such a mug. I was like, girl, you're at the Golden Globes. Live, live a little. Let your hair down. You should do more of that,
36:40Claudia Oshry:like calling out people for their sponsors.
36:42Jackie Oshry:It's so funny. So funny.
36:44Claudia Oshry:I didn't even know he's the face of Netspreds. You didn't even see his commercials? Not really. Oh my God. It's all over. That's maybe because they know they already got me. I have a Netspreds. Yeah, right. You're the target demographic. Target check. Right. Okay. Now best actor in a drama. Wagner Mora for The Secret Agent. Okay. Congratulations, Wagner. Love you. Best actress in a drama, Jessie Buckley. Hadn't it? Okay. Congratulations, Jessie.
37:16Claudia Oshry:Best non-English language film, The Secret Agent. I didn't know that was a non-English language film as I read this list. You learn something new every day. Best animated film, K-pop Demon Hunters.
37:29Jackie Oshry:So cute.
37:30Claudia Oshry:And you know what? I guess it wasn't like a stacked year because the only other movie I've heard of is Zootopia 2. Right. And that's really because of Dancing with the Stars. Right. Robert Irwin. And I am a mama. Right. And I don't know these. So, yeah. They would have won regardless. They would have won regardless. But they could have swept anything. Yeah. Best Director, Paul Thomas Anderson, one battle or another. So Judd Apatow gave out this award. Okay.
37:57Jackie Oshry:And he did this bit that was so crazy. I don't know what the reaction was. Please sign off for the comments. Did you like it? I thought it was like so, hey, look at me. Like it was just, he was just being like, well, they obviously asked me to give out the word for best director because they think I'm like the best director ever. And like, I'm the best. And it was just like. Has he ever won? I don't know. It was just like kind of girly. I don't know. I really did not like it. And he's like, I want to thank my muse, Leslie. and like I was just like can you stop oh also I need to talk about J-Lo he's thanking his muse Leslie though he hasn't won anything right that was like the joke like I'm look I feel like I won
38:36Claudia Oshry:because I've been asked to give this a one I guess it's like girly because it's like unserious and that's how like that's girl humor yeah it's just like I'm the best yeah no and it's like yucky I
38:47Jackie Oshry:don't know I really didn't like it I understand but I could see people being like Judd Apatow is
38:50Claudia Oshry:so funny well they definitely have like Judd goggles on those people like some people are just like Judd apologists.
38:56Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and he did say, which I thought was actually not cool. He was talking about like people in the room and he was like, and Seth Rogen left because he won his award and then Joe Rogan, what's his name? Judd Apatow said that he had left and I thought that was like actually really uncool. Like everybody was in the room seated for your award. What about the person at the very end?
39:17Claudia Oshry:Uncool that Seth left. Yeah. Uncool that Judd said it.
39:20Jackie Oshry:I don't give a fuck. Okay, yeah. The fact that he left, I don't know, I thought that was really lame. I think Seth Rogen is lame.
39:25Claudia Oshry:Yeah, of course. But now I have like a really good reason.
39:28Jackie Oshry:Like, I just thought it was not cool. Like, you got everyone to stand up for you and like not be seat fillers, right? Like, it's just rude.
39:35Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
39:36Jackie Oshry:I thought it was rude.
39:39Claudia Oshry:Best actor in a comedy or musical, our boy, Timothee Chalamet from Marty Supreme.
39:44Jackie Oshry:Now we got a very small Kylie. Yeah. We got a Kylie reference, but not like what we got at the Critics' Choice. I feel like actually also really liked his speech about how he just was really raised by his dad to be like so grateful for everything. And that's how in years past he's come to this award ceremony and left empty handed and like not been upset about it. Like felt so grateful and that this just means so much more. And, you know, thanking everybody at the film, Josh Shafty, yada, yada, Odessa, the cast, the crew and my partner. And my partner, I love you.
40:14Claudia Oshry:No, Kylie, my parents and my partner. I love you. So now she's like part of the family. he can't say the same thing that he said two weeks ago like boring but he said partner again yeah but like she is part of his unit
40:27Jackie Oshry:yeah and the yeah
40:28Claudia Oshry:and I'm waiting for the Oscar speech like that's the
40:31Jackie Oshry:big one oh right so I think it's pretty clear like he has a like more more than ever has a real chance and I do think I might have to tune into the Oscars
40:39Claudia Oshry:for that reason however he'll be up against really because there's two categories
40:43Jackie Oshry:yes it's easier to win the Golden Globe because they split
40:45Claudia Oshry:the movies into categories so Wagner Mora won best actor in a drama. So it's Timothy versus Wagner. He needs to look out for Wagner. Yeah. That's all I'm saying. Yeah. Cinematic and boxed off achievement. Sinners. Best actress in a musical or comedy. Rose Byrne. If I had legs, I'd kick you.
41:01Jackie Oshry:Oh, okay. She was like shook because she's in like some like random independent Josh Safdie film. Like the Josh Safdie film is Marty Supreme and she was there like on this like art film. She had no clue she was going to win. I was wondering if she was still married to Bobby Cannavale and then she said, Bobby, I love you. He couldn't be here tonight. I wasn't sure if she was joking. He couldn't be here tonight because we're purchasing a bearded dragon. And he's like at this expo in New Jersey. Now, it was just so specific that I thought like it was the truth because she had such details.
41:31Claudia Oshry:What's a bearded dragon?
41:32Jackie Oshry:Like a pet? Like a lizard. Yeah.
41:35Claudia Oshry:Oh, is it?
41:35Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Pet lizard. You know. So I just did anybody else know if she was serious or joking? And I love Rose Byrne. She's so underrated.
41:43Claudia Oshry:I don't know what a bearded dragon is. It's a pet lizard. How do you know that? because she just said it oh but how do you know that is that a known thing yeah i think it's known i don't know it sounds like you're the word the world like why is that a bearded dragon
41:55Jackie Oshry:i don't know i don't know how to make up the rules oh my god i see bearded dragons every day
42:00Claudia Oshry:yeah well you see iguanas every day no i see lizards yeah yeah yeah i always take a picture send it to margo that's how like i know it's lizard she's with me um i didn't ever heard of this or whatever but rose burn's amazing actress so yeah i love her give it to her if it wasn't going to be for Annie. It should be for this.
42:16Jackie Oshry:And I feel like she really did not think she was going to win. Like she brought her brother like as her date. Like I think if she had a real chance like her husband would have been there.
42:22Claudia Oshry:Yeah. The only other buzzy one that I saw was Best Supporting Actress Tayana Taylor for One Battle After Another.
42:29Jackie Oshry:Yes. She really was shook. She did not know she was going to win. She gave a great speech. She looked gorgeous. I think most notably a lot of the like TV shows that we thought were going to win like White Lotus. Three of the women were nominated in the category for Carrie Coon, Amy LeWood, and Parker Posey. And none of them won.
42:45Claudia Oshry:I think that's great.
42:46Jackie Oshry:Who did win for the woman? For which? For the show. Which show? TV show. Like actress in a TV show. Maybe supporting actress in a TV show. Who? Oh, yeah. Jean Smart. She deserves it.
42:59Claudia Oshry:And she wins always. So, like, we know. Oh, best supporting actress. I see the three white Lodi. We have Erin Doherty from Adolescence. Oh, Adolescence swept, too. The little kid won. She won. The dad won. the netflix show and it was filmed in one take was it is that the one that was filmed in one take i didn't know that that was that was a thing yeah like they never ended the camera it's actually
43:22Jackie Oshry:very cool yeah like a play yeah but it's like you could not you know like why are you doing all that
43:29Claudia Oshry:yeah i saw um we have this amazing thing called like final cut pro our fellow family um our fellow family josh peck he was like talking about it months ago like about it he's like you
43:41Jackie Oshry:You could cut. It's such a good call. Yeah. You know what? This has kind of been like a weekend for me of like realizing stuff. Uh-huh. And you actually helped me come to this realization. Because last night I put Ruby in his pajamas without an undershirt. And I don't know why. Like I didn't realize until you said it. Like I thought they were literally going to cuff me up and take me to jail if I didn't put the baby's onesie on. And then the pajamas. Every outfit he wears an undershirt. And then I had this realization. I'm like, we also could not. Like we're in Florida. It's fucking hot. He doesn't even be wearing multiple layers.
44:10Jackie Oshry:and he's also just like a baby who runs hot. It was just this sort of like freeing realization.
44:15Claudia Oshry:Yeah, they're kind of...
44:15Jackie Oshry:And he always cries when I put the undershirt on. Oh, well, you got to get the one side snap down the side. I do, but like it's just always like the arms, like it's a thing.
44:23Claudia Oshry:No, and it's like when baby is a newborn, they should have one more layer than yours. So if you're wearing jamas, they should have jamas and an under layer. My king is eight months and he's enormous. Like he's fine. And as they get bigger, like that no longer applies. And I just bought like new kite baby onesies, but like I don't need them. I'll take them. Sure, yeah. Actually, you could wear them as a shirt. Shirt. Yeah, yeah, yeah. With nothing else. With nothing as a shirt. Yeah. Yeah. No, you're definitely like on that onesie grind with baby number one. Yeah. And then it starts to be like, how about that onesie?
44:50Claudia Oshry:Do we really need it? Okay, so is that Golden Globes? We feel good. We feel good. I feel good about it. Which, yeah, yeah.
44:59Jackie Oshry:What won the best picture?
45:02Claudia Oshry:One day after another in battle. Oh, right. Battle.
45:04Jackie Oshry:One battle after the other. And then also comedy.
45:06Claudia Oshry:Right, which was what? Comedy or musical? I believe we said it
45:15Claudia Oshry:Best Comedy or musical One battle after another Okay So best drama Hamnet
45:21Jackie Oshry:Oh right right right Yeah we said it I know I said I was gonna like Watch all the Oscar movies this year Because I had such a good time last year And like it's fun to recap When you like know stuff But the thing is Nobody ever agrees with me So I watched all those Shitty movies last year Just for Anora to win Like I don't agree With my fellow voters So you can all go eat my ass How about that
45:37Claudia Oshry:Yeah and there's so many better things worth your time like seriously if you're going to devote that time
45:41Jackie Oshry:like do Real Houses of Salt Lake City or like Trader season three yeah it's true yeah and I think that's what like our audience wants from us yeah they please don't ask me for you to watch don't ask me to do it it was just a fun thing to do when I was pregnant when I literally like had nothing
45:54Claudia Oshry:but time yeah are you ready for our next story Alex Earl reveals her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer while she competed on Dancing with the Stars devastating so Alex Earl just revealed that her mom, Alyssa, has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Yesterday, she opened up about her mom's health journey in a post shared on Instagram and TikTok, posting a video showing her and her sister, Ashton, by their mom's side in the hospital, doing her hair, holding her hand, and having some ice cream and drinks together. She posted the clip with Fuck Cancer written over it while a voiceover said, Strong women never give up.
46:23Claudia Oshry:We might need a coffee. We might need a good cry. We might need a day in bed, but we will always come back stronger.
46:28Jackie Oshry:Now, I'm sick from this. Obviously, I blame Alex Earl's dad. Okay. I just, when I think of this woman and like what she's been through in her life and how, how much she's had to put up with for her family, like, and for the sake of her children, I'm always in awe of her. I feel like I'm always referencing like how amazing she is. And like, of course, like she gets cancer. This is bullshit. I just blame him.
46:50Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. I saw this yesterday. I was like, oh, did I miss something? Cause it wasn't like a, um, and now to know that she was diagnosed while Alex was doing Dancing with the Stars. So like a very like grueling schedule amidst the breakup with Braxton, like Alex is going through it. I know. So in hindsight, I'm really glad that she had that reprieve in New Year's, like in just like a fun, swirly weekend. Of course. She's going through a hard time.
47:11Jackie Oshry:And sometimes you just like have to be spotted with Tom Brady to help like your overall wellness.
47:14Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Just like get the vibes up. Yeah. So I'm wishing them the best and just really, really sad. Very sad.
47:23Jackie Oshry:Unexpected, yeah.
47:25Claudia Oshry:Are you ready for our next story? Some controversy for Jennifer Lawrence.
47:29Jackie Oshry:Of course I'm ready. Who I relate to on a very deep level.
47:31Claudia Oshry:She shared that she rehomed her dog who bit her child. So Jennifer Lawrence is getting a lot of backlash being called awful after revealing she. Not by me, by the way. After revealing she rehomed her chihuahua named Princess Pippi Longstocking because it bit her son. So she was on a panel and she shared that she looked at her dogs differently after having kids. And because one of them bit her.
47:57Jackie Oshry:Well, what she had said was that like she before she had kids was an insane dog mom. She's like, I literally moved to 67, the first to be near this dog park. Like, I was obsessed with my dog. Like, nothing could have, you know, torn us apart. And then when she had her first baby, she started to, like, look at the dog. Like, very Romeo. Like, being like, girl, get out of here. Like, she just, she was like, my priorities completely changed. And she was, like, wanting to rehome him. And then the dog bit one of the kids. And then it was, like, a no-brainer.
48:22Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
48:22Jackie Oshry:I don't know why people are mad at her for this.
48:24Claudia Oshry:She said, after I had a kid, my dogs became so scary. It's almost like I don't recognize dogs right now. Like, I just see them as a threat. one of them bit my son and that made me just want to obliterate every dog i was just like i'm gonna take you out you and your fucking family and your fucking friends she went on to reveal that the dogs are now staying with her parents so not even like literally the least big deal ever rehome people are so sensitive i know homes but in general and i can i'm very understanding um but after a bite like you could want to rehome your dog once you have kids and they didn't even bite like it's just like your priorities change and you can't give them a better life of course and i just want to say
48:58Jackie Oshry:Like giving your dog to live with your parents is not a rehome. No. That's literally what I do half the year. Like Romeo lives with Ben's parents.
49:05Claudia Oshry:But right. So it's like, she didn't even need to share this, but I'm honestly glad she did because it's exposing how crazy some people are. Yeah. About like dog.
49:12Jackie Oshry:Like, I'm sorry, the dog, but the child, Oh, what are we even talking about? The dog, but the child, but even if the dog didn't bite the child, normalize the conversations we're having about like some people. Cause I was actually talking to Olivia Colpo about this and her DMS about how like literally nothing has changed. Like she loves her dog more than ever. Like her and the baby and the dog are like this beautiful little family. into beautiful family i'm like oh that literally could not be more opposite of my truth but some people have both experiences i think if i had had theo like i barely know romeo you know what i mean like but my og dog theo who unfortunately passed like an untimely death um if he was my dog right now i would not be having these problems like at all um so some people have like normalize having the conversations about how like sometimes a dog does not fit your life anymore when you have a baby and that's just really unfortunate and if you are going to rehome your dog i really have no problem with that as long as you're taking proper like don't just give him away loosey juicy apple goosey like let's find let's find a nice home perhaps a family member brought him to like the
50:06Claudia Oshry:place where she had originally gotten him from but do we want to have the conversation maybe we don't want to step in it about like the the original point that she was making about how obsessed she was with her dog and like moving somewhere no because i think at that point you're
50:18Jackie Oshry:just like yucking someone's yums okay like you can think your own thoughts okay but i don't think that that's a universal truth I think it's just your truth well no it's not universal because
50:30Claudia Oshry:other people obviously feel a different way right like do we want to call them out for that feeling
50:34Jackie Oshry:no no because I had that feeling really yeah there was like a time in my life where like the most important thing in my life was my dog I don't remember you ever being a crazy dog person oh really and I could think of like crazy dog people Ben yes but not even and you did not fall
50:51Claudia Oshry:into that category though you love Theo with your whole heart like loving your animal is a normal thing but yeah revolving your life around them as if they are I don't judge I actually don't they
51:01Jackie Oshry:are a child for some people like the dogs are their children and you either for their whole life for this period of your life no I really I don't have a problem with it I don't I mean I'll talk shit about you behind your back but like I'm not on the podcast you won't touch it no I don't feel like alienating people you know there are some things I'm like willing to die on like I have a feeling that's so strong like I will say it no matter the backlash no matter the comments don't forget to flood the comments with you both look beautiful today um this is not one of those things is it one of those things for you because you can talk about it no but i just think you know let's let's circle back to that you know yeah think about that yeah i just like like lots of culture recesses are getting canceled right now like let them have their moment we don't need to have ours okay even though i didn't say anything yeah no we didn't like there's nothing that you could even
51:43Claudia Oshry:like quote like you know what i mean yeah we just like no clip
51:50Claudia Oshry:But yeah, brave for Jennifer Lawrence for sharing this even. Because once you say the word re-home.
51:56Jackie Oshry:It's a trigger word for like the internet.
51:58Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
52:00Jackie Oshry:And one thing about Jennifer Lawrence is like she's not going to listen and learn. Like she said what she fucking said. She doesn't have social media. We're not getting a screenshot. Notes have apology. We're not getting a clarification. Like the saga ends here.
52:09Claudia Oshry:I don't think anyone can tell her anything. The dog bit her child.
52:13Jackie Oshry:It's absurd. I do feel like a lot of these articles manufactured backlash. Is there actually backlash? There's no way a reasonable human being could be upset about this. You can buy backlash for anything, though, if you look hard enough. Right, like three comics.
52:23Claudia Oshry:Yeah, if you want to muster it up. That's what I mean.
52:25Jackie Oshry:They make it for the article.

55:48Jackie Oshry:Thank you, Turd. Like a genuine pleasure and honor to support today's sponsors. And just it reminded me that I have a crazy story to tell you. I forgot to tell you this. So I had to make an appointment. I needed like an air conditioning guy to come to my apartment in New York. And I'm calling and I'm making an appointment with this guy. And they ask me questions like the address, what the issue is, yada, yada. And I realized about halfway through, I believe I'm on the phone with an AI chat bot. it was so crazy. I made a full appointment, like literally no issue. It was one of the most pleasant conversations I've ever had.
56:20Jackie Oshry:I got an email and a text confirmation and the only thing that got wrong was they spelled my last name O-S-H-R-A-E. I don't give a fuck. They got everything right. My email, they were like, spell your email.
56:28Claudia Oshry:Did you spell out your name for them and you didn't even have to?
56:30Jackie Oshry:I think I did, I did. Do better. It was so crazy. First of all, the voice was so lifelike, but also he wasn't dumb. Like anytime I've ever been on the phone with a machine, I'm like, operator, operator, representative. Oh my God, it was actually crazy. And that had me shaking in my AI boots.
56:43Claudia Oshry:like for real but that's a good story yeah except for you know the loss of jobs the loss of jobs right I guess if they were doing an amazing job no and I feel like telemarketers would be like sad that now you're talking to a robot instead you're happy yeah this is where I'm at with AI
56:58Jackie Oshry:like if it's improving my quality of life I have no problem with it yeah and that's what happened
57:03Claudia Oshry:yeah well I think also where I'm at with AI is like it will probably be the end of the world as we know and destroy like the human race. So enjoy the benefits while we can. That's beautiful. That's where I like that. But you know, one thing that I can't do, make you a loaf of bread, but you know who can Taylor Swift. She's gifting her celeb friends, her famous homemade sourdough loaves during a night out in LA. And I will say regarding chat and sourdough, I have used chat to troubleshoot some of my loaves. Like what's the perfect amount of cook time and temperature. And they actually don't have it right for my boulet.
57:40Claudia Oshry:They have it right for my sandwich shape, but not for my boulet. They keep burning it. I want to say. So me as like a sourdough maker, I won't be replaced by AI.
57:49Jackie Oshry:The one thing that I think might save us from AI is the fact that a lot of these AI bots are low-key so stupid. Like they're wrong about so much. I now have to like double check stuff when I get the info from chat. I don't know if that's all bots, if that's chat specifically. I told you that like chat sent me to a container store once that had been closed for 10 years like it's it's not all it's cracked up to be you have to just sort of like double check your sources
58:16Claudia Oshry:I agree but it's getting smarter yes it is getting smarter it can learn yes but I can learn that's chat yeah and I feel like I know the things that chat's not going to be good at like I was asking for like a specialist in my area for something and then they gave me a bunch of people and I literally looked them up and none of them existed right I know that's not what chat is good for right it's not yelp yeah so there are other things where i'm like oh this is the perfect thing for chat and i to discuss yeah um but anyways taylor's friends got some loaves it's so funny
58:48Jackie Oshry:like they were all spotted leaving this restaurant we never would have known taylor was even in the building if they hadn't walked out with these sort of like public displays of taylor the amazon to-go bags for sourdough loaves it's interesting i noticed that as well she uses the brown paper bags that you also use that you literally got from amazon and you would have thought she would have I don't know started packaging it like a little bit more part deliciously yeah but those bread bags are like so ugly and I feel like they create a lot of condensation too I feel like when
59:13Claudia Oshry:you first need a bread bag you just search Amazon yeah and then you realize wait I could have gotten one from like Etsy or whatever and then you started to get like custom stickers but you do have like 50 to 100 of these Amazon ones that you need to use I just feel like um like Taylor like with her
59:28Jackie Oshry:jet like I don't think she really cares about getting rid of like 50 paper bags well I'll know
59:32Claudia Oshry:if like if I don't see 50 of them out in the streets like I'll know she was wasteful and I'll tell everyone wasteful is there anything worse I think like people know actually like one of the
59:40Jackie Oshry:accusations of Taylor that I do find like valid like she's our wasteful queen I don't think she's
59:45Claudia Oshry:of course she takes her jet take the jet out of it because it's it's not about right right right no yeah she's like someone who like is wasteful throws away food like let's buy things from the grocery store that she already had at home and then like throws it away she does like a trash
59:59Jackie Oshry:full of stuff that's like she doesn't give like girl who takes leftovers home you know i don't know i don't think she's wasteful well i think she has a lot of like staff people who do these things for her so like all right maybe you know there's a cake that is not getting eaten like
1:00:13Claudia Oshry:does one of the staff members want to take it home i think it's actually like easy to not be wasteful when you have a lot of staff okay that's just a theory i have about like wastefulness yeah I just like wouldn't like count her as like a wasteful person I don't know why um so anyway she gifted her friends the hame sisters and somber and I feel somber like that was really shocking that somber got a loaf somber I saw him in a picture so um we spoke at him the other day
1:00:41Jackie Oshry:and we didn't know who he is he's not a role model but he sings a song he sings a song that you know ready we talked about him because he was on snl his song is somberini it's not somberini
1:01:05Claudia Oshry:is that i don't know that song but i enjoyed it that's it how does it go like okay i've never heard this song back to friends can we go back to how it ends is that it so he has one song and he's at dinner with taylor swift listen we're so close like we just need a
1:01:24Jackie Oshry:song you have two it's actually i'm so glad you brought that up nobody everyone's like you should write a song bitch i literally did you have two two i'm sorry i didn't write them but like i bought them.
1:01:34Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
1:01:35Jackie Oshry:And they're really good.
1:01:35Claudia Oshry:Nobody wrote this by you.
1:01:36Jackie Oshry:Toast. On a time we're gonna have a good time A thousand hands up to the sky We're gonna get toasted tonight Can't let it fade We got a sparkle in our eyes, can't let it wait I'm counting down until we start, we're renegades We come to play And we play hard Ooh Two, three, four On a time we're gonna have a good time A thousand hands up to the sky. We're gonna get toasted tonight. I've been feeling it all day. I wanna let it go. I wanna lose control. Oh, I'm ready to roll. And I've been daydreaming about this night for a long time. I wanna dance with you on the moonlight. A toast to the wild ones.
1:02:25Jackie Oshry:A toast to the good life. A toast to the lovers. A toast to you and I. I, a toast to the wild ones, to you and I. Imagine hating us and we're just like sitting here singing my original song, you know? It's insane. What a waste of your time. The fact that we have so many haters genuinely blows my mind. Genuinely.
1:02:47Claudia Oshry:Like we're hilarious. Do you agree? I do agree. You know what I want to do right now?
1:02:53Jackie Oshry:Sing? I want to hunt it down. Oh, I'm constantly. By the way, you should join me on the weekend. I'm always hunting it down. Hunt it down. It's 100 down. Like 100 down. Yeah. But like I am like a singer. So I say like 100 down. You know. Yeah. A lot of people don't know that. Fun fact.
1:03:10Claudia Oshry:It's 100 down.
1:03:12Jackie Oshry:100. You bitches could never.
1:03:14Claudia Oshry:And then I think that was an Easter egg for your next song.
1:03:17Jackie Oshry:I do. It is high time for me to release another song.
1:03:21Claudia Oshry:100 was an Easter egg for 100.
1:03:22Jackie Oshry:Oh, and then my second song that I sometimes forget how it goes. It was called 100%. And that was like when we were really in the air. I was like saying 100%. Yeah. 100 % Don't let them forget Go hard till the end Cause you know that we are 100 % Don't let them forget Cause you know that we are 100 We keeping it, we keeping it 100 Do you best believe that? Keeping it, we keeping it 100 Oh, the bridge is actually really good. It's like kind of moody. after all is said and done we still got us we got love we're one oh no i'm singing toast a toast to us the wild ones one two never mind we don't keep this up because we are 100 yeah and you know the producer of both of my songs actually oh no sorry just a second song is the producer of our theme song as well i gotta get back in the studio with curtis
1:04:23Claudia Oshry:have you seen those reels and i imagine tiktoks of like that guy who's like pretenses in the studio when like class yeah yeah that's you you should recreate one
1:04:35Jackie Oshry:you should recreate one that's me yeah you should do that today and he's like just using
1:04:40Claudia Oshry:i love a lazy susan i love that guy you are that guy i every time i see one of his videos and he always picks like the best part of every song that's my guy yeah are you ready for our fifth Well, anyway, she made loaves for her friends as like her friends do.
1:04:56Jackie Oshry:And I was going to say, it's kind of like it's such a status symbol, like that shitty bag from Amazon. It kind of reminds me like when Ariana Grande was giving out her seven rings and it was like, well, who has a ring? And this is just like a ring.
1:05:06Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. Cool girls make bread.
1:05:09Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah.
1:05:11Claudia Oshry:Are you ready for our fifth and final story, Traders Recap? Spoiler alerts forthcoming.
1:05:15Jackie Oshry:Yeah. So if you don't, haven't seen all three episodes, this will contain spoilers as to who the Traders are, who went home starting now. Okay, so let's talk about the people they chose for Traders and what we think about the concept of the show. So I had an idea of what the show was, and it is what I thought it was. It reminds me, does anybody ever play that game that's made by the same people as Quiplash? It's called The Faker. You remember we played that in the house? I don't remember. Where one person is the faker, and you literally just lie, and I'm so good at it. It's my favorite game, and this is basically just an in-person version of that.
1:05:47Jackie Oshry:I'm loving it, I have to say.
1:05:48Claudia Oshry:First of all, Ben, is Zach watching with you? No, we tried to watch Star Trek. I was like, let's start Traders, and neither of us have ever watched it. But Max kept waking up. And so I kept waiting for him. And then it was already Saturday night, and I hadn't started because we were disturbed. So I was like, I have to go it on my own. I'm sorry.
1:06:03Jackie Oshry:Well, he would really like it. Ben's enjoying it immensely. He thinks Alan Cummings is so funny. Oh, I don't even notice Alan Cummings. Me neither. And I do think a lot of the theatrics are annoying. I prefer the juice, the drama. And I was really shocked at who they chose for Traders. Now, I don't know what the... Criteria. Yeah. And I do think they want to keep people on their toes, people. in the house, the audience. And I'm shocked at how amazing of a traitor I think Lisa Rinna is. And I do think this show will end up being very good for her because I've been like a very vocal, like Lisa hater.
1:06:33Jackie Oshry:Like I wasn't a fan of her on Housewives. I was like ready for her to go. And I think she's been amazing. I think she's such a good traitor. She's been so low key. Like she -
1:06:42Claudia Oshry:But I think that's suspicious. Well, of course. I actually think the best one of the traitors is Rob.
1:06:46Jackie Oshry:Candace, oh, well, yes.
1:06:47Claudia Oshry:Candace like - Is awful. I wish that she wasn't a traitor because we're getting so much Candace and she's like so high on her horse and she's like not my favorite housewife by any means because I'm still team Monique. Right. Like for me, that just is not going to work. I think Rob is great. I don't know him from Love Island. I didn't watch his season, but he does seem like kind of dumb as a doorknob. Yeah. And very unsuspecting. And he is a good game player. He's not very dumb, but he really like plays it. You don't notice him. Like I feel like Rinna's kind of an obvious choice because she is an actress.
1:07:18Claudia Oshry:I'm just surprised that they picked her because she's so traitorous. just who she is as a person yeah for the same way they thought that donna was a traitor because she's such an obvious choice because she's not obvious yeah no no because she's like sweet old lady so it's like oh you'd be a great traitor because we would never assume you and the same way that that's an obvious choice i think rin is an obvious choice because it's like of course you're a traitor
1:07:37Jackie Oshry:so i have so many thoughts about donna being selected as a traitor and this whole concept of secret traitor which is a new phenomenon i don't like it um over tj yeah and donna was never going to be a good traitor it was actually a really bad choice and i think like catching a traitor in the second or third episode is not good like i was shocked and the thing is i feel like you really have to be there like feel the vibes because everybody was like donna it was unanimous and i'm like what did she do besides not talk to you guys like literally like what is
1:08:03Claudia Oshry:she different than like tara who's right like tara random donna must have been so obvious like i
1:08:10Jackie Oshry:don't know what the fuck she was doing i also saw theories online saying that she didn't participate in some of the challenges due to like the physical elements of it and she is this older woman which would have given people like a lot of suspicions about her because I feel like there's something not being said about Donna what was so obvious I was actually feeling defensive of her I was like she doesn't know you guys and she's like why the fuck would she be up your ass chatting she's just this like sweet old lady so I was like you guys are wrong I thought for sure Colton was the secret
1:08:35Claudia Oshry:traitor I thought Colton was a something he's playing this game very well I think he's one of like the smartest game players aside from like the gamers who I don't know even though like Tiffany seems really smart and like a really good gamer but she's so barking up the wrong tree yeah with michael like it's crazy um she's so misguided she's like it's michael she named three people
1:08:54Jackie Oshry:and it's none of those people well everyone and so the thing is is like you can be really smart on the show but why colton i think is going to go far is nobody knows he's smart we know in his conventionals like oh i'm like that's actually a really good way of thinking and he's not there yet but his thought process is right we have to look past the fact that he's like a crazy person who stalked his ex-girlfriend like it's actually insane that he's on this show and being given this platform um so i'm just gonna like try and exist in a vacuum where that didn't happen i do think
1:09:16Claudia Oshry:he's playing really well most of the people who come on the show a lot of them are like former reality tv like villains whatever who have like a history of even sandoval was on it last season
1:09:25Jackie Oshry:like i do think you just sort of have to okay but like everyone you just like none none of it comes close to like like breaking the law and like being a stalker like miriam webster to find stalker what jesse smillett's on special forces it's true i forgot about jesse smillett yeah that's a good
1:09:38Claudia Oshry:comparison um i want to talk about with my issue with the show it kind of is like may the dumbest person win because if you are smart you are automatically eliminated for being smart so
1:09:49Jackie Oshry:we're not having this like that i mean the fact that rob knew there was a murder in plain sight
1:09:53Claudia Oshry:he's like wait you started the conga if only he had the opportunity to tell one person if you ever
1:09:58Jackie Oshry:needed proof as to why canis is a terrible traitor it was the conga line it was so obvious so stupid like you that was your quickest way to get everybody in one room like so dumb you should have been like guys I want to talk about something and like make an accusation and she's messed up a
1:10:13Claudia Oshry:couple times but gotten away with it Portia able to smooth it over Portia with Michael Rappaport and like I'm annoyed at Maura because she's the only one who knows the truth and she didn't remember she wasn't even listening okay but I ship Maura and Rob I ship Maura and Rob I wonder if they'll come to that conclusion themselves they're both from Love Island I love Maura on Love Island she was at the Golden Globe she looked sick yeah she does like a lot of TV work she's best friends with Molly Mae, she's from her season. She was like the best one on her season. Like personality out up the wazoo.
1:10:39Claudia Oshry:We're not seeing a lot of it on the show yet. There's so many people.
1:10:43Jackie Oshry:You know who's like actually really being just like dumb and is pissing me off and this is going to like offend you personally?
1:10:49Claudia Oshry:Caroline Samberg.
1:10:50Jackie Oshry:Yeah, she stinks.
1:10:51Claudia Oshry:What did she do wrong? I love her and Colton.
1:10:53Jackie Oshry:She stinks. Like everything she says, I'm like, you're wrong.
1:10:55Claudia Oshry:She's just like not giving that much. She's not really participating yet. But I love her jacket that she keeps wearing, her little puffer.
1:11:02Jackie Oshry:I want to talk about Michael Rappaport, who was like probably the most polarized talked about person I saw before I even started. I saw so much hate for Michael. And I was like, oh, God, what did he do? And then I saw this New York magazine article is Michael Rappaport ruining traitors. But this like scathing. That was the headline. And then the scathing article. I was so looking forward to finding out what he did when I tell you I have no idea what you guys are talking about. First of all, he was cracking me up. And I kind of did think Jam Jam was a traitor. Like if you're a traitor and you know it, clap your hands.
1:11:29Jackie Oshry:I'm sorry. He's this like eccentric personality. Maybe he's not for everyone. I have no idea like what people are referring to when they say he's ruining the show.
1:11:38Claudia Oshry:Well, the people who are that article like obviously just don't like him because he's a Zionist. Yeah. And wearing a big Jewish star. Yeah. I think he's hysterical. I was ready to be like Michael Rappaport. I don't really know him from that much other than social media. So I've not like seen him in his element. He's so funny. I love that he doesn't like back down from confrontation like other people. They don't want to be in confrontation. They're like everyone on these shows has huge personalities. Like you don't want to be like read to filth by anyone. Everyone's just like sort of hiding. No one is putting themselves out there.
1:12:04Claudia Oshry:I think he's being so funny. And also being brave. Everyone is just, that's what's the problem with the show. It's herd mentality. Everyone who is quiet skates by until the end. May the dumbest, most quiet person win. Because like the people who are actually putting themselves out there to say, I think it's this person. And then say it's not that person. Well, all of a sudden it's you. Like Ron. Like Ron just really tried to put something together.
1:12:25Jackie Oshry:I have such an issue with people hating Ron. and now thinking this is where it's like you're obviously not a smart person because how you could think Ron acted in any sort of malice when he just came to the tables like this is evidence that I have he obviously doesn't know Portia who said that she just like says stuff and she speaks wrong
1:12:40Claudia Oshry:and she's what bothered me is the same way Portia said we sent Ian home which by the way Michael you did send Ian home because you someone put this team put the casket in his grave like and we got Ian sent home sure Michael said it at the table so you could see how this slip-up would happen yeah and to think that like donna michael and ian who are each like sort of taking the same side right now that they're all the traitors because they're saying the same thing you think that the traitors would be so stupid as to like publicly at the round table team up and say here we are like they're just they're playing checkers when the it's a game of chess justice for ron he
1:13:13Jackie Oshry:had me fully convinced because and i like that you know if you're gonna still there no of course But if you're going to make an accusation, like, proof is paramount. And that's what I was saying with Donna. Nobody had proof other than the fact that she wasn't talking about it. It was just vibes. Which I guess if you're there in person, then clearly they were right. But Ron came to the table with, like, straight up facts. I appreciate, like, the clarity in which the accusation was made. And, okay, they were wrong. That's okay.
1:13:39Claudia Oshry:Yeah, if he knew Portia for one second, like, I never thought of her. She would have been, like, seriously the world's world. if what she was doing was because she was a traitor, she would be the world's worst traitor. So I don't think it was her, but he could have just not said anything and not put a target on his back. So it's like people who are putting themselves out there who are trying to play the game like Michael are being penalized. And so we're going to wind up with just like a bunch of Stephen Colettis and Taras.
1:14:04Jackie Oshry:Yeah, you're right. There's way too many people on this show. Although I do appreciate that in the first three episodes, like four people have already gotten home. Like they're moving quickly. There are far too many people. Like, and even there are people who I think are good and have big personalities. are just falling through the cracks of Mark Ballas. Oh, and also there are a couple of people who, and I literally talk pop culture for a living, whom I've never seen in my life. Eric, the songwriter, even Ron, I like him. Where the hell is Ron?
1:14:25Claudia Oshry:I agree. Eric, the songwriter is random. I obviously don't know the gamers, but it's almost unfair to have them in the show because they're always going to be starting first because people know that they're smart. So it's like the best person to win the show is someone who like seems dumb, but isn't. And like you play that. That's really the only way to win. That's why I think Rob is good at the game. that's why I think Gabby Windy won her season I could see now why you wouldn't like suspect her of being a mastermind but she's actually really brilliant yeah
1:14:53Jackie Oshry:I'm enjoying it so much like I and I'm now like learning like you know some more behind the scenes they don't live in the castle they stay at a hotel
1:15:00Claudia Oshry:that makes sense I mean everyone has glam
1:15:01Jackie Oshry:so I was also wondering are they getting full glam
1:15:03Claudia Oshry:for sure they're on TV they're you know TV stars I don't think they're gonna just like roll out of bed and show up to TV and I like that because I'm watching a television show yeah Produce it. Look beautiful, please. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm fine with that. And they are all like, you know, the biggest stars in their own lives. Like they're not going to be like bunking up.
1:15:22Jackie Oshry:If the traitors do get found out, it will be because of Candace. The thing about Candace, and I feel like this is the most dangerous combination of person, like someone who really thinks that they're smart and is not.
1:15:31Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
1:15:32Jackie Oshry:She is so obvious. Like how no one is on to her isn't saying the conga line thing. I would have been like, girl, it's you.
1:15:37Claudia Oshry:Yeah. How nobody thought that was weird. why no one followed up on the lie especially after portions found out to be a faithful it's right so where did this communication originate in this conversation lied the person who you thought was lying turned out to be a truth teller so let's look at the other person I feel like there are a couple of threads of things that have happened that people are like following up on like Michael and Jam Jam you're following up on the wrong thing yeah yeah and the people who are there like who are the smart ones like Tiffany I feel like her game theory is really spot on but she has just completely taken it down the wrong path and she's gonna end up nowhere yeah
1:16:09Jackie Oshry:i feel like she's like in love with michael like she's so blinded by him just say you like michael and you totally with him no i didn't did you see michael eating the spaghetti yeah that was insane i don't like clock it but yeah oh i and they literally they must have known like they stayed on him for like four bites it was shocking he is so funny i'm sorry you're not gonna get me to hate
1:16:27Claudia Oshry:michael he's funny he's adding like and i was like ready to because i was like oh he's loud mouth annoying and then I watch everything and I'm like he's trying to play this game he's being funny and he's being brash and not just being scared of being sent home and not being on tv yeah no there's so
1:16:41Jackie Oshry:many people like seriously Stephen Clady what are you doing there even cloudy but every time he does
1:16:45Claudia Oshry:speak I'm like you're kind of a p-jump the fact that he would have been a good traitor he wouldn't he to me is the same as Rob like yeah just unassuming unassuming Rob I think is playing it well Stephen when he like wouldn't take the seat because he was like my mom raised me I would never like make a woman push around.
1:17:00Jackie Oshry:And he's still on TV. So like he's like still being watched. Like there's so many elements at play. Like you want to be a good faithful. You want to be a good trader. But you're also on TV.
1:17:07Claudia Oshry:He just wants to be a good person.
1:17:08Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. No, I have no problem with him personally. There's just too many people on this show.
1:17:11Claudia Oshry:No, I'm just saying like, yeah. But I actually, I don't mind. He's not someone that I mind. I don't really mind anyone. But I'm just like this idea that like only the people who's really middle line it and who go like unnoticed are going to go far until the end because the people who are really playing the game are going to get eliminated. Not my favorite kind of game because I like games of skill. The more skill you have, the quicker you are to be eliminated.
1:17:33Jackie Oshry:That challenge where they were so – okay, another person followed you through the cracks. Johnny Ware. It's just not working.
1:17:40Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Even though – And him and Tara have this, like, big plan to, like, team up at the end.
1:17:43Jackie Oshry:Yikes. What?
1:17:46Claudia Oshry:They win.
1:17:47Jackie Oshry:We'll be eating our words. I'm really curious. I'm having fun. I just want to say I'm really having fun. And I'm like – oh, and also we have Tell Me Lies this week.
1:17:54Claudia Oshry:It took me a minute, but what's also crazy is, like, it's unconfirmed if this is going to be a good season. Do you know what I mean? That's kind of like how we watch Love Island. I just said that this morning. And people are trying to shoehorn it like it was amazing. It was not. But the season before was amazing and we missed that one. The season before this one was apparently amazing and we didn't watch it. But so it's like, oh, maybe I'll go and watch that if this doesn't turn out to be what I think it's going to be.
1:18:14Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And I really I like that they're expanding. I feel like a lot of these shows like Dancing with the Stars and what's the show? Jesse's Special Forces. I really think that they're expanding their net in terms of who they're casting. and we're ending up with some great moments. And so I think they should continue to, and maybe that's what like Eric was and you can't win them all, obviously. But like the wider net, the more people, throw some podcasters in there. Like I do think.
1:18:37Claudia Oshry:Well, of course it had me thinking like, could I ever do this show? Would I be good at this show? And I don't think that I would be. So I'm not going to nominate myself. I think I would be amazing. It's literally that game, the faker. Oh, and cause you love lying. But you have to watch out cause you always look up when you do. So true.
1:18:53Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
1:18:54Claudia Oshry:I would love for them to have like a mentalist on the show.
1:18:56Jackie Oshry:Oh, did you see? Oh, by the way, that's so funny. Oz Perlman, I literally thought the same thing because he was just on Ben's podcast. Was he? Yes. Oh, my God. It was a really big deal. He's so fascinating to me. Did you also see that they're casting for regular, kind of like Celebrity Big Brother. It'll be like Celebrity Traders and regular.
1:19:13Claudia Oshry:You're not calling me regular, are you?
1:19:14Jackie Oshry:No, no. I was just sharing facts. Like, this is the biggest thing. You would be a celebrity, of course. Cast Jackie. No, no, but I'm saying. It'd be crazy if they casted like two people together, like a duo, like the Chrisleys or something. and like one was a traitor and one wasn't yeah that they could tell they would have no well if
1:19:30Claudia Oshry:they could they can trust each other implicitly they could work together yeah and would that be
1:19:35Jackie Oshry:a good thing yeah but until a certain point because either the traitors win or the faithfuls win
1:19:40Claudia Oshry:got it oh interesting i wouldn't like i would want to be on the same team as you obviously
1:19:44Jackie Oshry:like don't cast us if you can't put us at both as traitors or faithfuls yeah what would you rather
1:19:48Claudia Oshry:be traitor traitors get more screen time that's what candace was saying and i was like i appreciate her honesty but it's a lot of pressure like when they had to murder in plain sight like the anxiety
1:19:57Jackie Oshry:yeah it's so fucking true resting on their laurels yeah they don't even know how good they i guess i guess what's like fueling them is that they don't want to be sent home the faithful yeah so in order to not be sent home all you have to do is nothing more yeah which i could do yeah any other thoughts
1:20:17Claudia Oshry:No, we really haven't fun. I just felt bad for Donna. I'm shocked that they made her. Oh, what also bothers me about the show is that the entire format of the show is based on producers. Like, who's going to be a traitor is because producers choose, right? So it's like, what is the criteria for, it's not earned, really.
1:20:33Jackie Oshry:No, I do feel like at this point it's random. Because if you do what they did in years past, you would try and find, like, the Dolores. Was Dolores a traitor? I don't remember. But, I mean, I don't know. But I think that they really try to switch it up.
1:20:43Claudia Oshry:But it's like, on the one hand, Lisa Rinna and Donna are like the two most obvious traitors because Donna is like, you want to put her in your show. She has this great cover, even though now watching all of her scenes back, all she had to say was, I'm such a big fan of everyone. No, in hindsight, it's so obvious. In hindsight, it's so obvious. And then Lisa Rinna, also actress, you know, villain.
1:21:05Jackie Oshry:They should not have made Donna a traitor, secret or otherwise.
1:21:09Claudia Oshry:And then also making her a secret traitor was so unfair because it's so isolating for her.
1:21:12Jackie Oshry:And it's this new thing.
1:21:13Claudia Oshry:I think she already felt probably isolated. She's the only one who's coming on is not part of like a pack as a housewife or a gamer, like with a community. And she's like alone. And then she's a traitor, but alone. At least the traitors like have each other. That was not fair.
1:21:26Jackie Oshry:You know what I am looking forward to? Like murdering face to face. Like I do think that whoever gets murdered is going to be shocked.
1:21:33Claudia Oshry:Oh, so it ended on a cliffhanger. Who do you think will be murdered between Caroline Stanbury? They had good reasonings. Kristen. Yeah.
1:21:40Jackie Oshry:I think it'll be someone random.
1:21:41Claudia Oshry:I don't like how in their, you know, what do they call it up at the top? With the B. The turret. They talk about the reasons why they should murder someone. They never say why they shouldn't murder someone. So I really think it's between Eric and Kristen. I think if they murder, they're like, Rob would be good because it's random. No, if you murder Rob. Ron. Ron, sorry. Then you will know that everyone who was like around Rob, like who said the same things as him, like Michael, are also not traitors. And that gives people too many clues. So say that. Don't say it would be good because it's random.
1:22:13Claudia Oshry:It wouldn't be good, period.
1:22:15Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And I do think like the whole Housewives protecting Housewives, like they should take out Caroline because then it kind of. I think they should take out Kristen. Because she's so random or because she's smart.
1:22:25Claudia Oshry:She's smart and she's not like being entertaining on my show. Oh, well, that's the other thing. Girl, get off my screen. So Kristen or Eric. But taking out Eric doesn't do anything for them.
1:22:37Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
1:22:38Claudia Oshry:Taking out Ron.
1:22:39Jackie Oshry:Eric is the type of person who would win because he's so boring.
1:22:41Claudia Oshry:If they save Ron, it really makes him look like a traitor. Yeah. That's another faithful kill. Because he's already been. Yeah. He will not kill Ron, thankfully for me. But like say that in the tour. Don't say it's random. It's good. Yeah.
1:22:55Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
1:22:56Claudia Oshry:No, it's not. Unless like am I playing the game better than everyone? Maybe you would be good.
1:23:00Jackie Oshry:She doesn't like games. Cast me instead.
1:23:03Claudia Oshry:Cast Claudia in Traitors.
1:23:05Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And you can use my original music. You can license it for free. How about that?
1:23:08Claudia Oshry:Would you do Traitors? Um, yeah. The Scottish countryside is beautiful. This time of year. Yeah.
1:23:15Jackie Oshry:Yeah. The show's huge. And that's the other thing. I think people realize like they saw, it literally made a star out of so many people last season, like Dylan Efron, Gabby Windy. And I think people also are like, that's maybe you think like a little Michael Rappaport too. Like you're trying to make an impression. Like this is almost like an audition.
1:23:29Claudia Oshry:Yeah. The thing about Michael Rappaport, and you could say that about anyone. What I like about Michael Rappaport is you actually can't say that about him. He can't help but be himself. Yeah. Yeah. He's not putting on, like he can't, If he could, he would sit back and shut up. Yeah. But he can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's interesting to watch. Yeah. And it's very authentic. Yes. And that is the year of authenticity.
1:23:48Jackie Oshry:You guys, that is our show. That's our Traders Recap. We'll be recapping Traders probably every Friday, right? Yeah, it's one episode. Yeah.
1:23:54Claudia Oshry:Yeah, and Fridays feel like a good time. Love that. Unless we can get screeners, then we can recap it on Thursdays.
1:24:00Jackie Oshry:No, but then the people haven't seen it yet.
1:24:01Claudia Oshry:I know, but that's what like people do.
1:24:03Jackie Oshry:No, no, it's not. Like you literally can't, unless you release your episode at 10 p.m., you can't, you're Spoiling it. Spoiling. You can't. I don't want to spoil it.
