In short
The Toast episode mixes Yom Kippur “atonement” reflections (sin, repentance, self-improvement), a phone-off/fasting recap, TV/golf chatter, and pop-culture news. They also preview the “Celebrity Traders” cast and discuss “Fast Five Stories” including a major celebrity death.
Guests
No guests appear in the transcript. Hosts are Jackson Claude (Toast) and “Turt” (the other co-host). Mentions include Derek Hough (as a joke) and various TV personalities, but no invited guests.
Key claims
Atonement prayers highlight that sin includes not just major acts but small failures (e.g., walking past someone in need, impure thoughts, gossip, procrastination, not meeting one’s “highest potential”). The point is imperfection plus “betterness,” not perfection. They argue addiction can hit anyone regardless of privilege. They also claim “Celebrity Traders” will be strong because casting includes recognizable personalities and reality-TV savviness.
Notable examples
Presley Gerber’s reported apparent overdose after entering rehab; cast names for Celebrity Traders (Kristin Chenoweth, Cody Simpson, Giselle Bryant, Bronwyn Newport, Taylor Hale, Casey Wilson, Cynthia Bailey, Bianca Del Rio, Janae/“Jana Craig” from Love Island USA, Chloe Kim, Jag Baines, Craig Conover, Michelle from Survivor, Johnny Sibilly, Rashad Jennings, Amyra from Next Gen NYC, Joey Graziadei). TV examples: Chad Powers, Ted Lasso, Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, Full Swing, and Ryder Cup disappointment.

The fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. welcome back to the toast and happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday obviously because it's our first show of the week but it's our first show of sort of the rebirth of Jackson Claude talk about two atone this is the atonement the sequel the atonement is here to all who who follow and praise the Lord
0:44Claudia Oshry:it's the first day it's the first day of the rest of our year
0:50Jackie Oshry:yes and of course as always now the year can begin and of course there's always this time of year like we are setting off with beautiful intentions of love and kindness and generosity of spirit I'm cracking up because when I was in shul yesterday
1:03Claudia Oshry:and I was doing my atoning and I was reading the prayer book and I I went to the English translation just to like see exactly of all the sins that I'm saying sorry for guilty of and it's funny because I think we were saying last week on the patreon or here how I think there's a couple things I want to tinker I really hadn't been thinking that big of and like when I was reading all the things that I'm apologizing for. It was just like, like literally everything. Like what? Do you want me to pull it up? Oh, you don't remember one single one that you read? It was like, really, and I think the point of it, actually I want to pull it up because it was so wide ranging and like every little, like tiny infraction ever.
1:43Claudia Oshry:And I think the point is meant to be like, nobody is perfect. There is nobody who did not sin this year. Right, right, of course. And we're not, we're not like striving for perfection. You know, there's always going to be sins, but we are trying for betterness because like when you think of the sins, it's not just the big ones. Like it's not just murder and Lush and Horror. No, right.
2:00Jackie Oshry:Of course. I didn't murder or commit adultery. Therefore, like I had a good year. Yeah. Yeah. It's not just that. It's like, you know, I saw someone on the street who needed help and I walked right past them. Something like that.
2:12Claudia Oshry:No, not even that. Like down to like the, the, like most insignificant, like impure thought.
2:18Jackie Oshry:uh well then i'm cooked as the kids say impure thoughts exclusively all my thoughts are i know like your thoughts too that's not like a sin that you acted on not only that like i can't control my thoughts so what does the lord want me to do about that that's crazy the point is that
2:37Claudia Oshry:nobody's perfect but say sorry let's move i gotta work it and try to be better i i will do my best
2:46Jackie Oshry:certain people, i.e. Derek Hough, are making it hard for me. I know. I like how I like ended up in this battle with Derek Hough. Whatever. Like new year, new me. And I... Claude, forgive us.
2:58Claudia Oshry:This is a different version, but here we go. Forgive us for the wrongs we have committed purposely and for those we committed under duress. Well, if I was under duress. yes okay okay for acting without thinking okay fine for giving into desire
3:16Jackie Oshry:constantly like when you think about desire of course like i'm not committing adultery but i am definitely engaging in the sin of gluttony like all the time for sure for being two-faced
3:26Claudia Oshry:uh no not me for betraying our friends for betraying our spouses never for treating our parents and mentors without respect never oh my god we respect the hell out of mentors here for being stubborn why are you looking at me like that i'm not margo for the words of gossip we spoke i know when i see that not me just gossiping when i see lush and horror in the book i go hard on that one i repent extra hard for not living up to
3:48Jackie Oshry:our highest potential that's a sin that's actually a chilling thought like did i not live up to my highest potential definitely not forgive us for denying the truth when we should
3:58Claudia Oshry:have acknowledged it oh like things i'm in denial about my cardboard nature yeah yeah for taking situations lightly that we should have taken seriously like that's just so subjective no and
4:10Jackie Oshry:I feel that I understand why the Lord wrote these words in the way that he did but I feel um that
4:19Claudia Oshry:maybe we've taken it like a little too far for requiring more from others than we expect from
4:23Jackie Oshry:ourselves that's tea I don't do that but oh maybe I do with Ben oh interesting like I expect a level of excellency in my home that I don't even achieve you know interesting for not guarding our tongue classic for looking down on others for failing to take responsibility for being scattered and
4:44Claudia Oshry:for procrastinating I didn't know that was a sin I just thought it was a bad habit oh I feel
4:50Jackie Oshry:actually like pretty good about the fact that I don't engage in the business of procrastination no you're not since high school you're a hastinator yeah not it's true what's the opposite of procrastination where you do things so quickly and so fast that you actually just do them poorly
5:02Claudia Oshry:and also like sometimes they're too fast a thousand percent for being for chasing after ambition and success that's bad oops yikes sorry about that sorry god won't happen again for not making promises we didn't keep for not giving generously to those in need so it's a lot this is
5:24Jackie Oshry:But like I said, new year, new us. We will do our best to not look down on others unless they need it. And to not guard our tongues. And if today's episode is boring, blame the Lord. Regarding our tongues. Regarding our tongues. So yeah, let's try and keep that in mind. Here's some good neutral conversation. Ready? I watched a lot of TV this weekend that I'd like to talk about.
5:49Claudia Oshry:Okay, I'm not ready to get into TV recap though.
5:51Jackie Oshry:it's not a recap because you didn't watch any of this I just want to tell everyone that I watched it and just give like a brief sort of recap brief thought a brief thought if I may I watch season two of Chad Powers okay oh that's a good thing to watch I should have watched that because it was a lot of time with my husband this weekend and it was what we could agree on and I just want to say it's insane and I have only positive things to say it was an amazing uh season it's insane that we're calling six episodes a season now. I just... I watched season four of Full Swing
6:21Claudia Oshry:and it was five episodes.
6:23Jackie Oshry:Yeah, when I was growing up, we used to do 22 episodes a season. So I'm not used to this sort of like phoning it in energy. Salamu was five episodes. I got the sense that the Salamu was like a half of a season though. I don't know why. I know, I feel that's what it should be.
6:36Claudia Oshry:But like Miranda said,
6:37Jackie Oshry:no, next season is season six. Season six. Well, Chad Powers is excellent. Like it's really the dumbest show like in its concept, but it's so like it's got heart and this season they have like a little bit of a danger element it was kind of spooky i was watching one episode at night i said we have to turn it off i can't
6:51Claudia Oshry:watch this right now chad powers is too spooky yes there's like this kind of crazy person on
6:55Jackie Oshry:the loose and he's like really really scary um chad powers loved i also started the new season of ted lasso again looking for like husband and wife and they made this whole big deal about like ending ted lasso just to bring it back and i don't know it's not hitting the same even though like all your faves are back, Roy and Keeley. I don't know.
7:15Claudia Oshry:No, I don't watch Ted Lasso anymore. It like got bad. So that was it for me. It's just like, it's not very good.
7:23Jackie Oshry:And then,
7:27Jackie Oshry:there was one, oh, oh, I watched more of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip. And I'm here to tell you, like, it's actually fantastic. It's really passive watching. Like, you don't need to binge every episode when it comes out. It's such great. like background. I am cracking up. Like between Luann and Portia, who are definitely stealing the show, I cannot stop laughing. They're doing a really good job of like paying homage to all the different housewives. They basically go to each city in a different episode. We're in Atlanta now. Well, I'm in Atlanta now. And they have, you know, Nene and Phaedra, like sort of crowd favorites coming and they throw a party at night.
7:59Jackie Oshry:Basically they invite everyone and whoever from that city wants to come, like sure, show up. Everyone's trying to have a moment, you know. Of course, cringe. And it's like cringe to watch them and the other ladies, like the ones who have been chosen for the trip there's just like it's not an equal playing field you know it's like lisa barlow's definitely all the other women i could tell she's i don't watch salt lake but she's on the apps with almost all the women and i just know it's killing them specifically heather that lisa
8:23Claudia Oshry:was the one who was chosen it is surprising they chose lisa over heather i think lisa is hated
8:29Jackie Oshry:amongst the group and loved amongst the fans and that's really more so what they care about um it's just so funny it's also just interesting how it's like i can't stand theresa i've never been a tree hugger she's such a delight when she's out of jersey like she's cracking me up she's really sweet she's like luann is singing like everywhere she performed at kyle's party she's making them watch videos of her singing and theresa's like so supportive it's definitely annoying you know they're with these women non-stop traveling bus sprinter and it's like you're getting sick of everyone and luann's singing the whole time vicky can't take it she's like she has to stop singing theresa's like so sweet she's like i love that song she say la vie there's a mosquito in here did you get it no and i i saw it before we started i think i think definitely in the book of prayers you're not supposed to be killing other living beings they didn't say that we just read it um you probably didn't get to that part and i didn't kill it you looked like you snatched it right up in your little hand i wish and then i would open the door and let it go of course of course i would also to say it's definitely worth watching I'm cracking up like if I just like cracking up you're looking forward to it every time I sit down I said you know I'm looking forward to cracking up Portia is carrying the entire show she's probably one of the funniest people on tv period cracks me up they're doing lots of flashbacks like iconic moments it's really good like it's not what I thought it would be and it's got heart you know this group of women they're all sort of bonding together because they hate Vicky she's such a wet blanket she's like she shouldn't have been chosen like I know she's the OG of the OC but she's too busy.
9:59Jackie Oshry:She has to work for Kodo. So she's like on her laptop when they're like filming scenes. She hates everyone. Like seriously hates everyone. She thinks she's too good for it. Like she's seriously pissing me off.
10:08Claudia Oshry:Okay. But it's really good. Okay. It's really good. That's good. I'm happy for them that they did something good.
10:14Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. And I know it like all comes to a culmination at Bluestone Manor. So maybe they end with New York. And that's where everyone shows up. But so far they've gotten everyone except T is that Kyle and Ben Dorit to her Beverly Hills white party where they like, you know, that's where Luann performed. And Dorit didn't come. Hmm.
10:35Claudia Oshry:Oh, yeah. Oh, of course. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's like, I haven't been paying attention in a while, but they hate each other.
Read the full transcript
10:41Jackie Oshry:It just happened to have been at Kyle's house, but like, it was not Kyle's party, you know?
10:44Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but no, there's true hatred there. So, of course. True hatred. I'm not going to go to my op's house. I know, but it's like, it's kind of a work event. It's a work event, like, for your boss. Well, if she was obligated to go, she would go.
10:56Jackie Oshry:No, it's not an obligation. but I would want to go like as just to keep myself like relevant in the housewives. Teddy Mellencamp was there of course.
11:02Claudia Oshry:Of course.
11:03Jackie Oshry:Of course.
11:04Claudia Oshry:Seriously cracking. So thank you for that TV recap after all. Yeah. Just like that's what Turdy watched this weekend. I only was able to watch full swing. It was only five episodes. That was like my night of Yom Kippur. Like the night where I couldn't eat after dinner. And then it was over and the whole season was like about the lead up to the Ryder Cup and like just knowing how the Ryder Cup went. it was just sad to watch like keegan bradley the brits it's europe whatever keegan bradley the coach like the captain like talking about how he's gonna make the team and how it means so much to him and it was just like such a flop the rider cup was a true flop for like our our whole country really like the players the fans perform poorly like oh i seriously feel awkward like it was i mean the last day was like better because we were down so much and like we really came almost all the way back it doesn't matter nobody remembers that they just remember that we lost yeah i do think it's like setting up and we're always like the the favored you know because like we have like scotty scheffler and like the number one golfers in the world they do have rory yeah i watched a
12:10Jackie Oshry:lot of rory this weekend because there was there was some champ uh i'll never remember him him like yeah okay because the thing is is like times you know change people change but like he
12:25Claudia Oshry:still did that thing with his wife you know yeah and it's so crazy that the other woman is like the journalist from full swing like who's like talking about it's and they don't really address it not that i expect that they would and this was also the season where rory won the masters and that's when i started paying attention to golf so it really came full circle for me but i also kind
12:42Jackie Oshry:of knew everything you mean it helped come full swing for you it came full swing and they focused
12:48Claudia Oshry:tv recap podcast they focused on a lot of like new players because they were trying to show why certain people were picked for the rider cup which was okay i understand it was very rider
12:58Jackie Oshry:cup focused which was just just like it's a very like inner circle in the no type of show now that like you know about like this sounds like very niche no but it's like the sport of golf like
13:08Claudia Oshry:yes i am now aware of what's going on in golf because well i'm a year delayed but because of because of full swing you know like top players in the world right well i watched them this weekend
13:20Jackie Oshry:who won it was called like the biltmore does that sound right biltmore probably they just call everything anything and they have so many tournaments like obviously we know the masters
13:29Claudia Oshry:but like there's like a hundred a year there's a hundred a year and then it's like the the traveler's cup the fedec and but part of it is like the travelers cup i've heard of like that's a big one and at the travelers championship you win the fedex cup make it make sense make it make sense like everything has like a name and then also changes venues a lot so it's like at the
13:50Jackie Oshry:oakmont we have the u.s open but they always do the masters at augusta and then there's one at
13:56Claudia Oshry:pebble beach right that's why the masters is like in a league of its own that's why we know about it yeah but and that's one of the majors u.s open i'm not doing this because i know too Okay. How was your fast?
14:08Jackie Oshry:It was good. You know, as good as it could be, because like we did it. Check. And that's all that matters, like getting through it. But we got so sick. Like, you know, Ben, like he can't just break fast normally. Like he had so many bagels and so many donuts. Margot was in charge. Margot brought a delicious spread. But she brought donuts. And Ben was just like, he had this donut in his hand of Boston cream. And I said, that's going to be the one. That's going to be the one that you're going to be like head in the toilet bowl saying, I wish I didn't have that donut. so we put it down but then he picked up like you know uh nerd scummy clusters we were so we went to bed at like nine o 'clock the second everyone left I was like I literally was the worst host
14:42Claudia Oshry:I was like respectfully you all need to leave yeah how we're not here for like a long time yeah my fast was actually decent which was surprising I was like dreading it I always get a horrible headache the headache and then like the headache never goes away like even once you eat but I didn't get the signature headache so like I was mostly okay it was actually really beautiful day because I wasn't on my phone which I don't do every weekend like you let me tell you even when I broke my fast and everyone went home, I still wouldn't turn my phone on. Like that cursed phone. I definitely want to try and do it more often.
15:12Claudia Oshry:It's just hard because it's not like I'm, like there's things going on in my phone that I have to like be aware of. Jackie, that's what you think. But if I delegate those couple things, there's a couple things like to Zach. No, of course. No, no, but like Zach can handle them. I'll be like, just if it's Saturday, call Zach.
15:27Jackie Oshry:No, it's like inconceivable that you could turn off your phone, but then you do it and you're like, you know what? You can make it work. Like you put systems in place. I agree. the fastest ended at 7 30 I probably didn't get on my phone until about nine o 'clock like after everyone left I was just like not in the mood I didn't even miss it at all I didn't miss it at
15:41Claudia Oshry:all and like you and I've been feeling like I'm on my phone too much like some nights I don't even watch tv or read I just like scroll on reels and I'm it's not like I'm watching terrible content like I'm really watching like cooking videos homemaking videos decorating doesn't matter like but it's just like I have nothing to show for it and every time you turn your phone off
15:59Jackie Oshry:when I turn my phone off I'm like oh my god something crazy is definitely happening like and then you turn your phone on and nothing happens it also helps that the people that i
16:06Claudia Oshry:feel like i need to be like in touch with at all times we're around you no we're off their phone yesterday well yes because it's like our family chat is what blows up a hundred times a day but when we're all off of our phones then nothing's happening i always and every time i see someone
16:23Jackie Oshry:like on saturday i'm like what's going on they're like nothing and then yesterday my sister-in-law was like did you see sydney crawford her son died i was like what yeah it was like the first time anything ever actually happened and I didn't hear about it until much much later yeah when I saw it
16:36Claudia Oshry:I saw like an article like talking about it not even announcing it so I'm like wait right what rewind right right yeah I had the same reaction it was so sad we'll talk about it because that's
16:46Jackie Oshry:what it's like jarring to be off your phone like you really are disconnected but most of the time
16:49Claudia Oshry:when you're off your phone like nothing happens yeah no so that was a real delight I mean you're actually in shul till pretty late so like we got him like 2 30 and it was like okay like just a couple hours then like family came over a little early that helped we were chit-chatting but then I had a coffee before I broke my fast so that I could like stave off a headache so it took me a while to fall asleep at night but other than that yeah other than that it was as pretty it was pretty
17:12Jackie Oshry:good one of the one of the hardest parts was the breath and I'm talking about like everyone around me like I don't know what it was but like I'm sure like I could not stop smelling everyone's breath and then ben was saying that there was like a fire breathing dragon in his area where he was sitting because like seriously you could not stop smelling the breath and of course like you can't help it i can't be mad at people but it's like as if i don't feel poor enough now i have to smell your breath the way i feel it's like like dorit kemsley if i can smell your breath
17:44Claudia Oshry:you're too you're too close so i didn't smell anyone's breath we've got limited i mean we sat
17:49Jackie Oshry:down at shul and i literally said to margo i'm like do you have to sit on my fucking lap like move over and she was like the chair is like here I'm like just move over like oh my god Olivia and
17:57Claudia Oshry:I sat we had like all these chairs for the kids that they were like off playing so Olivia and I sat with four chairs in between us because I'm like we can't sit next to each other and I would have sat with like one in between us but then we were just like being stupid but we cannot sit
18:10Jackie Oshry:directly next to each other and even people are of course not like get out of my face yeah and then during nap time like we also napped and Ben's like looking over at me I'm like you need to flip the other way.
18:22Claudia Oshry:You're so scary.
18:24Jackie Oshry:No, I'm like very triggered by breath. And obviously Yom Kippur is sort of like my Super Bowl. And I just was dodging people left and right yesterday. Like if I saw you at synagogue and I didn't even say hello, like I didn't want to smell your breath.
18:36Claudia Oshry:I do not want to speak to anyone.
18:38Jackie Oshry:Nobody.
18:40Claudia Oshry:And then also I had such an exciting day on Saturday. Do I look any different? Well, you wouldn't see my hairs behind my ears.
18:48Jackie Oshry:You had a haircut.
18:49Claudia Oshry:I got a haircut. Yeah. But not just any haircut. Our favorite stylist who cuts your hair in New York, who used to cut my hair in New York, came down to Florida, Mahogany Grace. She's such a queen. And like, I haven't had a good haircut since I left New York unless I go to New York or go to Dallas. And she came to Florida and cut my hair. And I feel brand spanking new.
19:10Jackie Oshry:And there's nothing like a face framing layer to give a podcaster a little bit of pep it or stuff.
19:17Claudia Oshry:Except, oh, I don't wear my hair like you do on the show with hair in front of headphones. So you actually never really see my hair and my layers.
19:25Jackie Oshry:But it's still, it's more about how you feel.
19:27Claudia Oshry:No, no, like in every other hour of my life, yes. However, in this one hour.
19:32Jackie Oshry:Like, do you feel your pieces just sort of like matriculate down to the front and you're just like a sexy little girl with her pieces?
19:37Claudia Oshry:Well, I feel like I have, no, I don't, no. I feel like I have so much more variety. Like I can wear my hair up with pieces, up without pieces, in a shin yang, in a tousled blow dry, behind the ears. There's just so many more options. So I'm feeling very excited about that. And that was a fun, a fun girly day. We called it Girls Day. Oh, so much fun you guys have without me. We had a lot of them without you, but we're seeing you soon. So it's okay.
20:03Jackie Oshry:Yes, I am coming down quite soon, actually. Yeah. Quite soon. The stories, I guess, are pretty good. There's a lot. There's a lot. Oh, we also did two Patreons. If you were observing the holiday yesterday, you probably didn't see. We dropped a Patreon yesterday. Basically covering all the pop culture news, we weren't able to cover the week prior. We basically choose our five stories from like 20, 25 different potential stories. So we did all the other stories from that week that we weren't able to cover.
20:33Claudia Oshry:Because it was a busy week, but it was also like a little bit of a window into like our story choosing process, which I know that we get a lot of criticism for. And so if you were also like hoping to hear like what we think about this or that that didn't make it into the stories. Like we talked about everything was actually really fun. I think a great way to like put out a pop culture episode on a day that there was no show.
20:54Jackie Oshry:Did we also release something on Friday or we recorded it on Friday? We recorded it on Friday. Released it on Friday. Oh, okay. Well, Patreon constantly being fed. Patreon.com slash the toast if you'd like to join our subscription. Constantly being fed. Constantly. Five times a month. That's a lot of food.

Get 30 % off your first online order at littlespoon.com slash toast 30. that's little l-i-t-t-l-e-s-p-o-o-n.com slash toast three zero code toast three zero today's episode is also brought to you by nori oh my god a product i've been using so much because i don't know if you've seen them kind of been like pulling out luke's i went to wedding i went to shul twice i've been going to so many things that require my clothes to be wrinkle free and i don't know why like everything i have is wrinkly maybe i'm not putting it away properly well nori is one of our favorite sponsors nori is iron spelled backwards and they of course make a wonderful iron that i own.
25:53Jackie Oshry:I've been loving their steamer. It's called the Nori Cloud. And it's just changing the way that we care for our clothes. I actually used it on some of the baby clothes too. It's just the best. It's also like not ugly. I feel like so many steamers are like big and clunky and don't even work. Well, this one is handheld. We've been using it. And let me tell you, it is just what we wanted. It's lightweight, heats up in just 25 seconds. And best of all, it doesn't spit. You ever like getting ready for like a black tie affair and your iron spits water or your steamer spits water and your dress now is stained?
26:20Jackie Oshry:Like it's insane. It's insane how many poor steamers there are. Let me just tell you that. The Nori Cloud is different. It delivers up to 20 minutes of continuous steam on a single fill, makes it super easy to steam a dress before dinner, or if you're doing like your whole week's worth of clothing in advance, you can do it all on one tank. If you've been listening, you know Nori from their viral handheld steam iron, the Nori Press, such a hit with Target shoppers that Target actually invited the brand to expand into a new category, which is the Nori Cloud. I love it. I use it on Ben's clothes, my clothes.
26:47Jackie Oshry:Again, the whole no spitting thing is huge. Visit your local Target store or nori.co, N-O-R-I.co, and use code Toast at checkout for 20 % off your first purchase. That's www.nori.co.co, and use code Toast for 20 % off your order. Today's episode is also brought to you by Roback. You guys, Roback is just sort of the gift that keeps on giving. The air has just started to feel like fall this week. It's so pargy in New York. There's a crisp in the air, and we need sweaters, which means we've definitely entered the phase where we want to be comfortable at all times but also look put together and very elegant and now entering roback's brand new aspire set so it's a matching half zip sweatshirt actually i just opened it before i sat down here um it's a matching set it has half zip sweatshirt and then pants they are so so soft it's my favorite type of material where it's like meant to keep you warm but i'm a temperature regulated swirl like the material itself is like very cool to the touch so you don't get overheated um the pants and the uh sweatshirt the half zip are really cute like very put together i love a set too because it's like, I can't pick out both pants and a top.
27:49Jackie Oshry:It's just too much. The pants have a cute striped detail down the leg. It gives them a very retro feel. Roback actually made a shorts version of the Aspire set this spring. It's sold out in a week. So this is just that, but for fall, they made a really cute fall version. The half zip is very cute and flattering. The pants are very comfortable. It gives you a very specific look of, yes, I'm wearing sweatpants, but I also look put together. You can wear the full set to run errands, grab coffee or the perfect travel fit. And then obviously both pieces work separately too. Half zip with jeans, leggings, pants, with a tee or a sweater.
28:16Jackie Oshry:So it's very easy, low lift effort, but very chic. We are loving all the new fall pieces from Roback. Use code TOAST on Roback.com for a generous 20 % off your first order through the end of this week. That's R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com.
28:28Claudia Oshry:Thank you, Turt. Back. You're welcome. Our first story, as we discussed, very sad news. Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Randy Gerber, died at the age of 27. So Presley died on Sunday, September 20th at a rehab facility, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner records obtained by People magazine. TMZ was the first to report the news. An autopsy has yes to be completed but it appears that he died of an apparent overdose. He had checked into rehab the day before and he died at the facility. He appeared to be under the influence when he checked himself in one day before.
29:06Jackie Oshry:Terrible, terrible story. I was so shocked when I heard this and I realized that I hadn't heard about Presley Gerber in a while and I remember when like Kaya was sort of like launched on the scene at like a young age she was launched with her brother like they were both like gonna be models yeah yeah and Kaya's career really took off and I feel like now in hindsight I didn't even realize it at the time but Presley definitely like I don't think that life was for him at all um I didn't know he had this you know huge struggle behind the scenes but I don't even think it was so behind the scenes because then I saw a video today resurfacing of him talking about it like I think he's been really open about his addiction
29:42Claudia Oshry:also she's such a tragedy she's been doing press recently like for her show and I remember I saw a clip of her for a few weeks ago just like talking about like her personality and how she's always felt like she needs to be like the achiever because of like her brother's um like substance abuse like she was talking very openly about it to the point that it felt like in the past right like healed like talking about how like the issues that he's had have like sort of like leveled their family like it's been incredibly difficult through the years and again like I didn't know it was ongoing especially here I know I'm so open about it before this even happened
30:15Jackie Oshry:and I feel like what's so crazy about this is like you could look at somebody like Presley Gerber who was seriously you would think like born into I don't know if a more perfect life exists right in Malibu supermodel mom billionaire dad supermodel sister you're good looking you have every opportunity and it's like really addiction is the great equalizer because like none of that mattered yeah and even this is somebody who probably had access to like the best type of care when it comes to these types of facilities and you know treatments or whatever and it's just it is such a tragedy and this is her only sibling right yeah so sad like really so sad so sad for the parents for the parents it's just a terrible horrible story it's so shocking so young yeah 27 oh like pittsville i when i i couldn't believe it when i heard it no me neither like i was like cindy crawford's son it was like it just took me a minute to like know who we were talking about yeah terrible story seriously i hope i wish them all like a lot of like luck in their journey ahead like it's gonna
31:19Claudia Oshry:to be tough the family put out a joint statement saying they're asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time just enough to say like please like leave us alone leave us alone
31:27Jackie Oshry:i really hope that people do i don't know i've seen like some really tasteless like stories already like inside the facility ten thousand dollars a week it's like stop it the seven
31:37Claudia Oshry:million dollar house yeah resolutions like stop yeah stop it yeah no like not yet they can't help themselves but maybe like not ever maybe people can be decent about it and just give it's just a terrible terrible story yeah well and this presley is the one who dated lexi wood right yeah
31:59Jackie Oshry:sad lexi lexi she always had nice things to say about him always like she was never uh she was like they pestered her a lot about it during her time on bravo like on watch happens live too and she always like had wonderful things to say about him and his family she's a classy girl and i think they're like a really nice family yeah like as normal and nice as you can be you know when you're when you're that when you're yeah well rest in peace and just like seriously
32:24Claudia Oshry:thinking of the family um our next story something i actually broke right after we wrapped on friday so we've been sort of like my god the timing sitting on it well that's what you get now we've
32:34Jackie Oshry:recorded so early like we're missing stories i know i do feel we've in recent years we used to be like hardcore like we are not waking up early now like we're up early already so we get the show out i would rather have this problem than like i'd rather people being like dying for the next day's episode of course of course no no we're not like pushing back the show no no but things like this are so fucking annoying yeah like as i sat here taking my picture for like our instagram i saw it i'm like are you fucking serious what it is is the traders trader season six cast revealed
33:08Claudia Oshry:So Celebrity Traders is back. And Regular Traders started last week.
33:13Jackie Oshry:I don't think I'm going to watch it. I haven't like, I don't know.
33:16Claudia Oshry:It's hard to feel inspired. Yeah, but like truly like not one person I know. Yeah, but we have Celebrity Traders. It is back. It will be premiering. When is it? Did it say? I have no idea. I'm sure it did. Yeah.
33:36Claudia Oshry:um lots i didn't see anyways here's here's who's on the cast kristin chenoweth
33:43Jackie Oshry:okay she's sort of in my opinion like the biggest name in terms of like not reality star not influencer but celebrity yes cody simpson another one they just said
33:52Claudia Oshry:coming soon yeah not soon enough cody simpson another one big celebrity let's talk about
33:58Jackie Oshry:Cody Simpson this feels we are this I completely agree that this feels personal the arc of like Cody Simpson being like model slash whatever to Olympian to singer I'm so here for it like I think that the problem with Cody Simpson why his career has truly never taken off he's always been so close like 50 feet from stardom he was Gigi Adidas like it's because I think we don't really know him and I think Traders is a great place to let people like in on who you are yeah but I feel like he's
34:28Claudia Oshry:gonna sort of fall into that like colton underwood not in terms of as hated as colton was but like you know man who's trying to get it done like who's taking the game so serious doing all the challenges like the way that he's very physically fit too the way that colton's an athlete as well
34:45Jackie Oshry:i feel like sorry he's not an olympian that was like the whole thing he didn't make the olympic
34:49Claudia Oshry:team he's engaged to an olympian oh good for him remember yeah yeah sort of yeah no but he's a an insane athlete so I feel like that's going to be sort of his archetype yeah Giselle Bryant
35:02Jackie Oshry:Real Housewives of Potomac and you know what watching Ultimate Girls Trip she's the Potomac representative obviously it's given me like a newfound I don't watch Potomac so religiously anymore and I remember towards the end of my time watching I start to get so annoyed by her like and she's the same person like she's the bone carrier she heard Lisa say something about the Salt Lake City Housewives so she runs into the Salt Lake City Housewives and she tells him exactly what lisa said she keeps things moving but she so owns it like she's actually very refreshing i think the only way she won't do well on the show is if she's a traitor because i don't think she's like a sneaky liar i think her whole thing is that she's so up front i don't think she would
35:37Claudia Oshry:be a good traitor interesting well the other housewife that we have is bronwyn from real houses of salt lake city and now like thinking about housewives on the show last season was so housewives centric because we had two kind of ruined it like yeah and they won't do that again Good. They did kind of ruin it, honestly. We had two in the turret. Then we had like three. And then we had Portia, Dorinda, and Caroline Stanbury. So five housewives total. Too much. I think Bronwyn Newport will be excellent.
36:05Jackie Oshry:Me too. I don't know her because I don't watch Salt Lake City, but I'm watching her a lot on Ultimate Girls Trip because she shows up in Atlanta. And I don't like her. Just based on the limited content I've seen.
36:15Claudia Oshry:I like her and she's very clever and she's smart and well-spoken. And I think she'll be like, I think she'll excel on the show. And people will be like, oh, housewife. Like, doo-doo-doo. Ditsy. Yeah. Yeah. Then we have Taylor from Big Brother and Amazing Ray. So a gamer. There were a lot of CBS stars. Yeah. A lot of gamers. I guess I'll like skip over most of them because we don't know them. But I will say we don't even have to like get to know them because they eliminate them first because they're the smartest. It's true. It's true. It's kind of annoying. We never even get to know them. Whitney Leavitt.
36:45Claudia Oshry:Secret Labs and Mormon Labs.
36:47Jackie Oshry:I'm so curious if Connor's short stint on Dancing with the Stars freed them up to do this because when does this film? I thought it already filmed. Oh you think?
36:58Claudia Oshry:I feel like they film it and then they announce the cast.
37:01Jackie Oshry:But I feel like when they film it it always gets leaked like we knew who was going to be on last season before it you know. Did we? But maybe they did maybe they did. Oh I don't know why I just assumed that that it's filmed. No that's fair that's fair.
37:12Claudia Oshry:And it's not that long by the way no it's not I think overall it's like two three weeks yeah okay but I don't I might be wrong about that then we have Casey Wilson actress and podcaster what's the show come on
37:27Jackie Oshry:bitch yes an OG Bravo podcast and they're always on watch what happens live yeah and she's also an actress like she has a very familiar looking face she's very funny I think she'll be good I don't know if she would excel more as a traitor or a faithful but she's funny I think that she'll be
37:41Claudia Oshry:good because she watches so much reality tv so she really knows these persons personalities inside and out and she could see if someone's being inauthentic it's true that's kind of an advantage like the way that coles and red renna to filth because he's a huge housewife's fan not even he just like picked up on something like so obvious the sunglasses but the way that she was being is not who she would have been lisa fucking renna she was so quiet so not renna like yeah she away with it for a long time though yeah oh cynthia from real houses of atlanta is also on
38:12Jackie Oshry:i miss that cynthia bailey she was not at the event she wasn't on real housewives ultimate girls trip i wonder why opt it out they had some like true nobody's there yeah i don't know okay
38:27Claudia Oshry:um she'll she'll provide fun fodder yeah i don't think she'll be very good i feel like she's gonna
38:34Jackie Oshry:to be like confused as to like the whole process. Bianca from RuPaul's Drag Race. Oh, she's a winner. Bianca what? Bianca. They just gave a first name. Bianca Del Rio. Yeah, yeah, she's a winner. I don't remember like her full personality, but she'll be good.
38:55Claudia Oshry:Jana Craig from Love Island, USA, the season we didn't watch. The season we didn't watch. People are very excited about this. I think it's Jana. No, I think it's. Oh, okay, okay. Janae. Janae. I know it's not Jana.
39:08Jackie Oshry:That's why I did something different. I didn't watch, but I was like afraid of your pronunciation.
39:12Claudia Oshry:I did something different because I know it's not Jana.
39:15Jackie Oshry:Got it. Okay. People love her.
39:18Claudia Oshry:I'm looking forward to getting to know her. Me as well. Chloe from the Olympics.
39:23Jackie Oshry:Chloe Kim. Oh, Chloe Kim. Is she the snowboarder? Yep. Yeah, she's. But she's. Yeah, yeah. Oh, oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, oh, yeah. Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
39:34Claudia Oshry:Jag Banes from Big Brother Amazing Race. I don't know him. Bowman, who's a content creator.
39:41Jackie Oshry:That's throwing to you, Turdy. Oh, yes. I think I know. Let me triple check. He like cosplays the Kardashians. Like Bowmanizer is his handle.
39:48Claudia Oshry:Yes.
39:49Jackie Oshry:Oh, oh, yeah, yeah. He does like a lot of reality TV content. That's funny. I was thinking that there were like no influencers, but I guess there's one. There is one.
39:57Claudia Oshry:I always would love to see more, but. Me too. It is what it is. Craig Conover, Southern Charm.
40:03Jackie Oshry:So obviously this is what Craig was trying to tell me at the wedding, right? You think? He was like, I have so much to tell you, and then I never saw him again. You think? He knows I would appreciate a little bit of gossip like this.
40:13Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I want to know if he already filmed. Can you find out? But that's exciting. I wonder how he'll do. I don't know if he's going to do great. Oh, allegedly it's currently filming. Oh.
40:25Jackie Oshry:So I don't need to text him because he won't answer.
40:27Claudia Oshry:I'm cracking up. I don't know if he's going to be amazing. I'll say that. Okay, here's the thing.
40:34Jackie Oshry:I think Craig gets a bad rap. Because I don't watch Southern Trump, but you've told me he's gotten a reputation for being a liar. Yeah. I actually hope, for Craig's sake, he is not a traitor. Because then he's going to be forced to lie. And he's going to be forced to lie to the best of his abilities. And if he does it well, people are going to be like, see, he's a liar. And if he does it bad, he gets kicked off. I also think the crew themselves are going to be looking at him.
40:58Claudia Oshry:suspiciously because of like I think he's most akin to rob of the cast oh I don't think so and
41:04Jackie Oshry:like they're now gonna be like putting him in that box yeah like they always just watch the season
41:08Claudia Oshry:the seasons previous and then they take away the same thing there wouldn't be two houses in the turret or like you know it's always the gamers so what I feel like they're gonna be like oh it's the you know the guy that thinks you're his friend and it's not but and that Craig is like very
41:21Jackie Oshry:personality-wise like kind of similar or I could see Craig being like so misunderstood like being faithful but he does have this like kind of poor reputation on reality tv so anybody who comes in like casey wilson will bring that up and he's just like guys no he could be like one of the first go home be like guys it's not me i think he's gonna be punished for rob and they're gonna be like oh we'll see we would never suspect you it's you i yeah well that's true yeah then we
41:45Claudia Oshry:have michelle from survivor and the challenge uh johnny's sibili an actor johnny sibili spell his name johnny s-i-b-i-l-l-y i just feel like if you're an actor i guess i recognize him oh i
42:06Jackie Oshry:know him he's from hacks oh he plays the guy who does like deborah's like she lives in las vegas she's not allowed to use x amount of water he's like the water police oh that's funny
42:15Claudia Oshry:then rashad jennings nfl star mm-hmm amyra from next gen nyc oh you know what i've been hearing
42:24Jackie Oshry:I know so much about Next Gen NYC. The streets are saying Lexi Wood for Next Gen NYC because she was sort of raked over the coals for Summer House. She didn't get her proper.
42:35Claudia Oshry:And she's so like Next Gen. Bravo owes a debt to Lexi Wood. I kind of agree. And I will not rest until that debt is paid.
42:43Jackie Oshry:It's true. Jessie Solomon should introduce her to the casting director just to make things right. Yep. Joey Grazia Day. The Bachelor. People fucking love that. Joey Grazia Day. I did not watch his season of The Bachelor or Dancing with the Stars. So I know nothing about him. I just know that people are obsessed with him. He would be a great select for a traitor because he's so beloved. He might also get that like Rob Rath. Edit. Yeah.
43:11Claudia Oshry:We'll see how dumb this group of people is. Honestly. Very true. Also, Joey Grazia Day is like still with the girl that he chose from The Bachelor. Not married. Everything that I've seen. That's okay.
43:22Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I wanted to like for the group. I wasn't saying it, Cheney, I swear.
43:27Claudia Oshry:I really wasn't. They're very young. Everything that I see of Joey Graziere is very positive. So I look forward to getting to know him.
43:34Jackie Oshry:I'm on like Dancing with the Stars talk now. They're talking about me and Derek. No kidding. And they like they show iconic dances. And he won. He had so many. Joey Graziere won? Yes. That's why people love him so much. And I also saw something so funny. that's like actually my life right now. It's like, is Dancing with the Stars so huge or am I at the Dancing with the Stars age? Is Dancing with the Stars so huge or am I just watching it? No, no, like I feel that it's always been this sort of like older person show and it's like, am I the older person now?
44:08Claudia Oshry:It's true, but also as I think about - I think it's huge. I think it's huge. No, I don't think, I think it's always been this, as big as it is right now. No, I'm telling you. Even though Alfonso says it's the most votes in history.
44:19Jackie Oshry:There was a time where somebody like Alex Earl would have never, ever gone on this show. And I think that her saying yes to it is proof that the show is not what it once was.
44:27Claudia Oshry:But I do think the last couple years when people like the Bobby Bonesgate, all of these huge moments were huge. We just weren't there. Oh, agreed. But is Dancing with the Stars huge or am I just at that age? I think Dancing with the Stars is as huge as it's ever been. And we're just now watching it. So it feels huge. I hope so. But also like Dancing with the Stars, when I think about why I like it so much, obviously I love dance. But all I watch is reality TV. Like, and it's a place where like all my favorite people go, you know? Like, that's why I like it.
44:59Jackie Oshry:That's why you also like Traders.
45:00Claudia Oshry:Yeah, that's why I like it so much. It's like more of this thing that I really like because I love reality TV.
45:06Jackie Oshry:A thousand percent. And I feel like for so long, there were a lot of the shows where it's like random veterans of reality TV shows would go. Like X on the Beach Island or whatever. but it was like the concepts of the show were so poor. Yeah. That I feel like now with Dancing with the Stars, Traitors, these types of shows where like people can go after their stint on reality TV are also just like good conceptually. Like the shows are good. Yeah. Because this isn't a new concept. MTV has been doing it forever. Getting people from The Bachelor. It's like those shows were gross. Yeah.
45:36Claudia Oshry:And I feel like people like the competition aspect more than like the romance. Agreed. Those shows were like trying to get people together. To a date. Yeah. So I look forward to getting to know Joey Graziade and saying his name every week. I think it's Graziade. Is there an extra vowel? Joey Graziade. I like mine better. Then we have Q from Survivor. Then we have Ian Sterling.
46:04Jackie Oshry:An inspired choice. For those who don't know, Ian Sterling is the British comedian who's behind the voice of all the Love Island narration. He writes it all. He records it all. He's fucking hysterical. Ian Sterling and Joe Graziani. And I just want to say that Ian Sterling is the perfect example of like making the most of what you got. He got this random job on Love Island. He could have just truly been like a nameless voice. He makes these amazing TikToks. He does his job so well. You can't help but notice the voice. When did you ever notice a voice? Like it's truly a true example of like he got a gig and he turned it into his dream role.
46:45Claudia Oshry:I wonder if like him and Janae are going to sort of be allies as like the like because he's from Love Island just like Robin Mora. Right. Let's think about allyships. Like who does Craig align himself with? Probably one of the housewives or Casey Wilson if she likes him. Who knows what like her take on him is. Right. Who did she get in the divorce? Who got Casey Wilson in the divorce?
47:09Jackie Oshry:It's true. Paige or Craig? or maybe he'll be friends with joy grazia day yeah just sort of like male i could see there is like sort of a gendered element to it too because so many of the challenges are like very physical but then sometimes like you need a little one yeah that's why candace was great for so long candace mora as well mora as well and then i feel like we're overlooking whitney liavitt i don't know why we didn't talk about her like strategically um i don't know i feel like we don't she just like is the type of person that's good at everything i was just about to say she is
47:43Claudia Oshry:good at everything she does i wouldn't count her out influencer good reality star good broadway dancer dancer so yeah i just feel like she commits like really fucking hard to the shit that she does but sometimes like if you just have a target on your back in the beginning there's no way to help you like those guys from last season that were gamers that's why like everyone's so dumb who literally saw the conga line like i knew okay in hindsight not even in hindsight because in the
48:07Jackie Oshry:moment like that was insane first of all such a dumb conga line but like the fact that they were
48:12Claudia Oshry:able to figure it out and so like you're you're punished for being clever I guess the the key is to hide it to like know but then Lisa Rinna tried to like hide her whole self no or to like be smart and act stupid however if you're already known to be smart because you're a gamer and you won an insane show where you have to be brilliant they know you're smart yeah well I love traders
48:38Jackie Oshry:and I'm looking forward to watching it. Me as well.
48:41Claudia Oshry:We'll see in the turret, Joey Grazia and Ian Starling.
48:45Jackie Oshry:Oh no, Jackie's local stims
48:48Claudia Oshry:are about to go all the way off. And then I need Joey Grazia and Ian Starling to join SAG-AFTRA.
48:53Jackie Oshry:Okay, I'm sure they're already in it. Actually, Ian Starling definitely is. If Joey Grazia and Ian Starling are the trainers in the turret, you guys are not going to be able to listen to this show for like two months. Listen to the recaps.
49:09Claudia Oshry:No, they're going to be painful. Yeah. I can't wait. Can't wait. You guys, our next story is so crazy. It's been a crazy journey this weekend for Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum is fighting for his life after being accused of running like a spam hater account called the name of the - Run a nunya business. Called nunya business. So eagle-eyed fans spotted this weekend an account called None Your Business, like leaving sort of hate comments on Dumois of posts about Zoe Kravitz and Harry Styles.
49:50Jackie Oshry:Now, there's nothing out of the ordinary with like bots. So much celebrity stan culture is literally bots. But this particular bot was curious to people, said eagle-eyed viewers, for two reasons. One, because this account was followed by Channing Tatum, his official account. and two because this commenter like seemingly exclusively was commenting on posts that related back to harry styles zoe kravitz channing tatum like that orbit of people yes so people were very quick to sort of assume that this is channing tatum's burner account yes and like also the
50:24Claudia Oshry:some of the comments were like referencing things that channing has said in the past sort of like deep cuts of public quotes that he made but like things only really chan and channing would sort of want to highlight to the group um and yes the smoking gun was the fact that Channing Tatum followed this account and this account had one follower yeah Channing Tatum so Channing and it's just sort of everyone sort of ran with the fact that that is Channing Tatum for days he was caught running his own Finstra very Normani-esque however he has put out a statement like emphatically stating that it was not him denying the allegations um he says that he is not behind the account he said you know if he has something to say that he'll say it this is his only official
51:11Jackie Oshry:account and if he was trying to hide a burner account why would he follow it yeah guess like is a pretty logical line of thinking i'm just but why do you follow it why do you follow like
51:22Claudia Oshry:this random account does he follow a leather a lot of other accounts that he really can't explain you know i i also want to know if channing tatum follows a hundred people or a thousand
51:34Jackie Oshry:people he follows he has 17 he follows 8 000 people so i could see you know certain celebrities follow like a lot of like their fan accounts or whatever um and if this person is like constantly like dming channing and tagging him and stuff like maybe he just threw them a follow the 8 000 is actually the most compelling piece of evidence i agree for channing i agree although i was sort of like getting comfortable with the idea of like this being his burner account and like I liked that version better well here's the thing whether also his statement read like this yeah by the way like I can't believe this is how he talks yo I truly can't believe y 'all think this is what I'm doing with my free time fucking hilarious also why would I follow a burner account if I didn't want people to connect me to it what the fuck come on but if I really need to say it I only have one ig
52:19Claudia Oshry:account at Channing Tatum also considering that's how he talks it's very different from the dialect of none of your business. Also true, but that is kind of an easy way
52:28Jackie Oshry:to throw people off,
52:29Claudia Oshry:changing your dialect. I want to say, whether or not it was Channing, it doesn't matter. People have decided he will never live this down. What is happening?
52:39Jackie Oshry:It's just... Yeah, it's giving Normani, except with this, there is compelling evidence that it's not him. Sometimes somebody gets caught and it's indisputable, and that's what happened to Normani, unfortunately. It also recently happened to Stella Lefty. Yes, I saw that. I don't know if you saw that. running her own like charts twitter account so sometimes like a screenshot really exposes you for like 100 being you this is not no people are too obsessed with it though they're not gonna
53:06Claudia Oshry:they don't want to see the truth funny they don't want to see the truth they don't want to move on they don't want to hear from him i personally like don't think it's him especially given like the 8 000 he probably just like followed at follow for follow you know trying to engage with his fans
53:19Jackie Oshry:yeah I don't also see when I think about the landscape of Channing Tatum's personal life like I don't see Zoe Kravitz is the one that got away I personally see Jessie J is the one that got away but like I don't feel like he's hung up on her I feel like they kind of ran their course that's just a vibe that I get yeah you can always tell when someone's like still pining for someone
53:36Claudia Oshry:and let's not forget Jenna Duan who's now back in the conversation in the mix that she's a kind
53:42Jackie Oshry:of drama with Jenna Duan do you see drama with Jenna Duan no it's a combination of like Jenna but also like the fans like running with stuff just because like when you're with your partner on Dancing with the Stars like you just act inappropriate like it is what it is you dance weird you hug a lot you jump into your arms and wrap your legs around them like shit you would never do outside of this and you know between a lot of social media posts and her looking so much like Jenna the wife people are like starting to you know say Val is acting inappropriate and then like Jenna posted something over the weekend about like Val like something cutesy or whatever in the comments are like you're posting this because of jenna like oh wait jenna oh my they're both named jenna i know it's so funny because when we were talking about the
54:24Claudia Oshry:casting i said you know and they why they look alike and their names will start with jay jay
54:29Jackie Oshry:and they end with enna like it didn't like to me their names are both jenna yeah i thought they
54:37Claudia Oshry:were like a little different jenna i thought it was like jenny jen and jenny or something like I don't know.
54:43Jackie Oshry:Jenna. Jenna. Jenna and Jenna. Like they're both. Jenna Jawan and Jenna John. Sin. Yeah. Well, like the fans are making this like into something. But like if you wanted to look for. Fans do this every season, right? Yeah. But a lot of times like there are romances. Artem and Brie Bella. Brie Stewart and her husband. Gleb and Brooks.
55:08Claudia Oshry:Yeah. A lot of times there are, but usually not between married peoples.
55:11Jackie Oshry:No, no. Robert Herjavec, though, the exception. He was separated. So?
55:17Claudia Oshry:So he was separated. And Jenna Dewan's married to Steve Kazee from the Twilight soundtrack.
55:27Jackie Oshry:Yes. Major get. She's not stepping out on that sort of generational talent. No, but like at what point, like, is it weird?
55:36Claudia Oshry:Yeah, well, do we want to enjoy our show or do we not want to enjoy our show?
55:40Jackie Oshry:no we want to enjoy our show tonight it's on tonight yeah oh not tomorrow oh interesting
55:44Claudia Oshry:no because today's tuesday it's confusing no no i'm just used to being tuesday wednesday because of last week no just tuesday which is like it's enough tomorrow night freed up interesting i was thinking again because i don't know if you've seen but nbc am i okay the voice just returned
56:03Jackie Oshry:with kind of like a stellar coaching lineup have you seen it's kelly clarkson they brought back Adam Levine like enough do the people really want to see Adam Levine I don't think so Riley Green and Queen Latifah like it's kind of this all-star and so again I don't know like is the voice becoming good or am I just at the age where I want to watch the voice because this morning I literally scrolled TikTok watching every single audition unless it's reality stars competing on
56:30Claudia Oshry:the voice there there is which is celebrity voice yeah and that's why I will watch that because I
56:34Jackie Oshry:Who are the judges for the celebrity voice? Did we do that? No, I don't know.
56:38Claudia Oshry:Oh, but I thought it was Masked Singer. Oh, no, that's Masked Singer. No, it's The Voice. I should watch more Masked Singer.
56:46Jackie Oshry:You should, actually. That is, like, the same thing. But this is The Voice celebrity. So it's like, who are the voice coaches for the celebrities? Interesting. It's nice to see Kelly out there, like, obviously things are slowing down on the daytime show front, picking up other gigs. Yeah, but it's not that she wants to work. glass no are you ready for our fourth story oh my god no i'm like sitting here like so dilly is it do we have secret lives of mormon lives drama okay i've been meaning to tell you that
57:16Claudia Oshry:actually talk about that fourth is um it's crazy that it's fourth but it's learned this
57:21Jackie Oshry:oh good i want to talk about that too because that's i saw i was watching football looking for taylor and i saw riley green and queen latifah it was an nbc game so they obviously brought them to kansas city to like do something promotional i was like riley green and queen Latifah are the hosts of The Voice, I think I need to watch. 1:02:26Claudia Oshry:You're welcome. Our next story, Taylor Swift celebrated Chiefs touchdown. Travis scored a touchdown at the game this weekend. She said, that's my husband, pointing to her ring. Also, Travis is buying Taylor a gun for Christmas.
1:02:42Jackie Oshry:That clip cracked me up. It was obviously like a blooper from the cutting room floor of New Heights that they decided to post. They didn't know that they were being recorded. and they're watching Taylor's Emmy's Mariska Hargitay skit. And the producer's like, all right, we're ready. He was like, oh, sorry. And he's basically saying. He said she looks kind of hot with a gun on her waist.
1:03:03Claudia Oshry:And then Travis goes, ah.
1:03:08Jackie Oshry:It's actually cracked me up.
1:03:09Claudia Oshry:That's what you took from that. And Travis was like, now I know what to get her for Christmas.
1:03:13Jackie Oshry:I mean, what do you get the girl who has everything? A gun. That's beautiful. Now, let me say this. I watched a little bit of Taylor at the game. And I learned a lot about the game, you know, like the team. How's Travi doing? So there's this new guy. And obviously, like, everyone's really excited about it. I can't remember his name. I'm sorry. But he's, you know, let me just let me get his name. And he's, like, scoring all the points and stuff. And it's obviously great for the Chiefs because the Chiefs, like, were on this generational run, I think, last season. It was sort of like a flop. They had this, like, really highly produced commercial with Nikki Glaser because she's from Missouri.
1:03:44Jackie Oshry:And it was all about how, like, everybody hates us. We're building a dynasty. But, like, we're back. Like, their whole mantra this year is, like, we're back. we've appeared in five out of seven of the most recent super bowls like we're back last year was a fluke sorry about that um and i think this new guy is a huge part of it and he's kind of like putting travis out a little bit just because like travis's job is like to run and catch and score and like this guy is like doing that you know well travis is going to retire soon so like you do need to like of course the shoes before there's a gap before there's nobody wearing the shoes Kenneth Walker III he's a uh all-star running back he signed a three-year deal with them after
1:04:21Claudia Oshry:winning the Super Bowl in Seattle got it last year last year Seahawks won yeah okay so that's good
1:04:31Jackie Oshry:no it is good but so I think the fact that Travis scored a touchdown is kind of like huge like also huge considering you know last season right not his best you know so that's very exciting and
1:04:43Claudia Oshry:hopefully it means he has a great season ahead of him and i think it's his last season we say that every year so you want your last to be great i also think that then when it's great you're like
1:04:53Jackie Oshry:should it be my last i know it's like kind of his catch 22 but if you find yourself asking oh my last season was so great should it be my last the answer is yes yeah now i feel that we can pretty much you can never guess what she's going to do but i feel like she's going to be at pretty much all the home games now like that's her husband yeah she has this great relationship with the family that owns the stadium and the team and they always you know they get her in security everything i feel like yeah she's yeah and she's doing you know revving up some like work stuff she's set
1:05:32Claudia Oshry:to be honored at the MTV VMAs with a new award called the Artist Director Honors that she will be receiving. They just make shit up. On Sunday at the VMAs, which does like clear her up to give a speech and perhaps an announcement.
1:05:50Jackie Oshry:It's giving an announcement. I thought we were going to get an announcement at the CMAs and it was going to be like more because she keeps like saying country, country at the cmas i feel that the vmas are so irrelevant to like genuine culture um but i think she has a very complicated relationship with them of course like the kanye thing she's always like doing the most at the vmas yeah her her uh re-record like medley remember right she does a lot of shit there i think it's just like a safe place where there's
1:06:20Claudia Oshry:a camera crew and a stage and you can do whatever you want i guess it doesn't matter like anyone can do whatever they want at the vmas if you just if you're showing up you can seriously do whatever you want it's just annoying because i really wasn't planning on watching the vmas and now i sort of have to no no i don't think i can watch honestly but um just like text me when she's getting her award coming yeah i'll come in for that okay i actually don't think i can handle it
1:06:45Jackie Oshry:that's what i mean i'm almost like annoyed at her for making me even consider it and like talk And then like I have to say VMAs on the show.
1:06:53Claudia Oshry:I know. I know. Like. I know. I'm just. I'm watching Dancing with the Stars. It's.
1:06:59Jackie Oshry:It's sort of like a full time job.
1:07:00Claudia Oshry:No no. It's one or the other. Like I'm not in my VMAs era. No. And I don't think you're alone in that. Yeah. So yeah. Big cute weekend for Lurdvis. I feel like a lot's percolating there. The percolation. The new haircut is so good. The face is so good.
1:07:19Jackie Oshry:Yes. everything is looking really good over at Taylor Nation HQ.
1:07:23Claudia Oshry:Yeah, there was like a picture of her from the game this weekend like with her hands on her hips like standing in the box and like she looks insanely amazing.
1:07:29Jackie Oshry:Her arms are jacked. Like she looks amazing. She obviously did like a wedding arms series. It's very popular to get your arms in check for your wedding. And they look great. And maybe we'll never get a picture of her at the wedding but now we know what her arms looked like. Yeah, we'll never know what her arms looked like at her actual wedding but we have these residuals.
1:07:46Claudia Oshry:But we will know what they looked like two months later. Yeah. are you ready for our fifth and final story yes taylor frankie paul announces that she's stepping away from secret lives of mormon wives after allegedly failing her court-ordered drug test and citing disgusting bullying from her cast mates the crazy thing is that she decided to step down
1:08:07Jackie Oshry:and like her after all of this right losing custody of her kids failing a drug like all these terrible things that she did and her statement is all about like the girls tiktoks and like them cyber bullying me. Well, what happened was. Layla happened.
1:08:21Claudia Oshry:Layla happened. Who'd have thunk? Layla would be the one. To put her in her place. They're fighting on TikTok. And she fights so dirty and nasty. We were just saying how she's like to Jace, oh, but you didn't have me in your bedroom. Like, she's like nasty always. She goes there. The way that she fought on the show, just like saying the nasty, like when she goes to this place of just like hate. Dark place, yeah. And I'm just going to say the meanest thing. And there's like no line that she won't cross. and she's accusing so she's fighting with like Miranda and Layla in the comments she's like you guys are jealous of me whatever and Layla writes back jealous of the girl who gets eight hours a
1:08:54Jackie Oshry:week with her kids I don't think so and you know what it sort of had to be said it was a conversation ender because that's what we said last week like Taylor's social media is completely devoid of what's going on in reality and so for Taylor I mean for Layla to just like bring reality to the comment section i really appreciated and the fact that like we've now learned all this stuff about taylor and her reason for leaving is because i think there's a big mean to me it's like girl
1:09:21Claudia Oshry:that's not what happened so then she posted so after that sort of went silent you know yeah right leila shut shit down yeah she shut it down then taylor posted like a long-winded thing on instagram saying that her gratitude goes i almost didn't read it because she's always talking like this but i was like let me see oh my god it's so true gratitude goes out to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return however I don't desire to move forward like this she then lashed out at her castmates saying they engaged in a pylon she wrote that laughing about my kids is disgusting um that's like not really what happened no that's
1:09:54Jackie Oshry:not what happened and I agree that like kids are off limits but like at what point can we stop circling the drain as to what's really going on with you no we're not that no one was laughing
1:10:03Claudia Oshry:at her kids they were laughing at her correct um she also like hinted at you know the fact that she's made a mistake that all of them are guilty of making some um and that you know she's just the one paying the ultimate price for it i don't know what that means specifically maybe having done drugs or drinking wait read it again let me get the exact verbiage it i actually i can't even lie
1:10:31Jackie Oshry:I did not read it. Her statement, her, she's so verbose. Oh, she is. And she's just like, tells lies. Like, I'm like, girl, what are you talking about? I live here in reality. No,
1:10:40Claudia Oshry:I was shocked to find that there was actually some meat in the statement that said, um, okay, so here's the statement. My gratitude goes to all the network. And there was screenshots of like pictures of her with screenshots of like her fans comments on it, of people defending her. Like the comments that she liked. She found two of them. My gratitude goes to all the networks that supported me throughout this and gave me the chance to return however I don't desire to move forward like this I originally was willing to be removed to let them all continue on with less stress and I'm back to that point some of the girls know what I've been through and then turn and collectively pile on with their statements knowing there has been ongoing abuse through the system the last eight months on top of what I've endured almost the entire class plus some going at me laughing about my kids is disgusting and I bit my tongue there these same people had meetings telling me I need to lead the way of pay my voice was the only one that can make it happen and then they would work from what I demanded.
1:11:33Claudia Oshry:I'm grateful I never followed through with their requests of demands and I'm grateful I kept same pay out of fairness and integrity. I treated production and crew with respect always. In fact they're the ones who checked on me throughout this. I agree it's to the point of bullying for months now. What makes it harder to take in is some of these parents have made mistakes that would result in the same judgment I'm receiving yet pointing a finger however I feel like she's accusing them of having done drugs and yes get drinking wild and crazy however it's a pleasure to remove myself so they can continue because I'm almost convinced myself I'm deserving of all this pain and to a certain degree absolutely this is the consequences of my actions my question has been how much suffering and scrutiny is going to be enough I'm just relieved to be out and we are so tired like I
1:12:19Jackie Oshry:am so tired I don't even know what the hell you're talking about I also don't feel like she's really stepping back this is just giving like attention seeking statement Michaela was asked like oh well Taylor's gone does this mean like you're you'll come back and she said no like the whole and I agree with her it's like well it's nice that Taylor's stepping back the fact that like the show would have chosen her to continue like who wants to be part of that it's like it's just icky and
1:12:40Claudia Oshry:gross and trashy yeah but this is what I was saying last week like I felt like Michaela's statement and position had gained so much steam that it was like I feel like something actually might happen because of this I never expected the network to like choose Michaela over Taylor they just never would but yeah I guess Taylor seeing that imagine you're Taylor and the whole world is and it's like
1:12:58Jackie Oshry:finally like the fans have never not once like given Taylor any sort of grief like they just
1:13:04Claudia Oshry:love her yeah so the whole world is taking the side of the girl who said that she won't be anywhere that you are and everybody wants to like you know see her and be with her then okay then I'll leave but this is also so classic Taylor like she's so aggressive she's so nasty in the comments and everything that she says and then when she gets it back she's a victim yeah no she's
1:13:23Jackie Oshry:like textbook narcissist it's so painful to watch and listen and I just want to say like Layla and Miranda like I love what Layla said like somebody needed to say it but like I'm so tired of these spineless women like only after Michaela went out on a limb and was like listen I'm not comfortable doing this anymore and got so rewarded for that did the other girls feel empowered to be like oh now the fans won't hate us let me say something mean to Taylor like they're so fucking immature they're so not principled and it's like yeah I love that she ate her up but it's like why did you feel like why were you only empowered to do that now and
1:13:56Claudia Oshry:it's because like it's not brave now no it's not brave now I completely agree they are all followers the only one who was brave was Michaela and I will also say Macy for not backing down in the confrontation knowing that Taylor's fans might hate them and everyone who watches the show might hate them and knowing that was a consequence and like whatever yeah whatever jesse was not prepared to do it no but she miranda and layla were certainly not they didn't say anything at least jesse tried like she was saying a similar thing to mikaela and macy but like couching it so soft but that's also her personality like i don't think that if she started now trashing taylor like because that would be lame but this is her personality to just like try and like be a peacemaker so I don't I don't really have an issue with that but to be that way and then come out swinging only because it's popular is lame and what's the same pay thing that Taylor's saying that they all ended up getting paid the same it sounded like the girls wanted her to go to production and demand more pay and they told her like how to do that and because they felt like production I'm just making this up but based on what she's saying trying to like make sense of this pile of mush she um yeah it sounded like that they wanted her to go to production to demand more pay because production would listen to her she is like the leader of mom talk and she would
1:15:12Jackie Oshry:they were asking her to negotiate on all their behaps because they all get paid the same i do think they all get paid the same and i me too because you also can see their executive producers
1:15:20Claudia Oshry:now in the credits all of them yes and remember like the demi conversation when she was trying to get more money and then taylor was like even i'm not trying to get more money and i'm like the star of the show no you need to negotiate you need to all be paid the same it gives you a lot of power it gives you power it's the only way the show can sort of stay on the rails in terms of personality and sorry taylor while she might be the star she never shows up no but like her drama was always bigger she was providing yeah so yeah the people who show up all the time honestly i don't want to hear from you all the time and now your drama is not the one i'm interested up until now it's like even though i don't really care so much about like relationship drama but it was just like Taylor in general is just very fascinating yeah and chaotic um but we've all had our fill I guess and and things have just gotten to a point and I feel like even they got to a point in when we saw the video and people were starting to like give grace for that but to see the behavior that was on this season and even though this the behavior on the season is from before that video came out so imagine she changed drastically after after she was thoroughly canceled like imagine that because that's what I was sort of thinking like and I'll give her grace because the big thing hasn't happened yet and she's still like just this moron but yeah and a
1:16:36Jackie Oshry:lot of times going through like a big public scandal like that like does change you to your core I think we now realize Taylor is a person who's not capable of change for me it's all this
1:16:44Claudia Oshry:stuff that's happening online now that the season has aired and her fighting with the girls and like not really taking accountability and just like getting so nasty just speaks to the fact that she's still defending the person that she was when the season aired when the season was filmed
1:16:59Jackie Oshry:so I'm out yeah right she's like vouching for herself and it's like girl you're indefensible
1:17:04Claudia Oshry:yeah if you had been like the first one to be like oh my gosh watching this back like me see Michaela we're so right this was such a hard time in my life like plus compounding it with like the drug test failure and the loss of custody yeah and just the refusal then so that's that's present day you know still not making the changes needed to have the agency over your life and your
1:17:25Jackie Oshry:family like i don't know yeah and i don't know if she's actually leaving because she does seem like the type to do shit like this for attention yes but notes and like and to garner the fans back oh no taylor we love you come back we'll help you we'll keep your secret um but like i really hope it's real even though i don't know what that even means for the future of the show because mikaela's not coming back so what now nobody's coming back and we all are gonna have to watch the secret lives of oc wives like i'm okay will mom talk survive this bring back to me yeah we're ready and whitney yeah yeah and like where's jen affleck in all of this oh yeah she's like not a part of the group i'm like no it's it's she like posted like i only have videos like this from this season it's like her with her kids it's like okay but you were there the whole time so what happened no her position is very strange well it's awkward because she looks like such a moron for being used like a pawn into that argument and now it's like girl is that the side you want to be on yeah so i just had nowhere else to go she's just staying quiet that's what she should do you know what it's a good tactic well seriously blink and you might miss it this the this drama never ends over in the secret lives of mormon wives but they're not filming they're not filming or they are i don't know i don't know well those are the fast five stories it's crazy that like biggest news was number five like truly five banner stories today yes three-day weekend love a day like that and that's our show tonight we've got tansy with the stars so expect a full recap tomorrow thank you so much for listening to the toast the millennial morning show where we deliver the fast five stories that you need to have every Monday Friday on YouTube so if you're watching us on YouTube please feel free to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up.
