Transcript
Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:20I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday. Hope everybody's having, yeah, it's Tuesday, right? Wednesday. Yeah, a little gift. A gift of the Wednesday. Are you sure? Oh my God, yeah. A gift of the hump dairies. Much like Cynthia Erivo, I did not know that was happening. Oh my goodness, happy Wednesday. That's just like, kind of changes everything. Turn your frown upside down. Yeah. Madame Marble, it's giving Wicked Wednesday. Wicked Wednesday. It's very exciting to be here with you on this Wednesday. I was saying we are adjourned with Cojourn. Consider court adjourned. Yeah.
1:00Your next podcast. Yeah. Like weigh in on legal issues. About the Baldoni case. Three people will listen to it. We're adjourned with Cojourn. Well, thank you all for adjourning with me today. For adjourning. For adjourning adjourners. Sojourners rural juror. Hope everybody's having a fabulous Wednesday. We have a fabulous show planned for you guys. We are two fabulous girls. So it's a sort of baseline fabulousness. We've got great stories. We watched a ton of TV last night. We've got Tell Me Lies recap. We both watched the season premiere of Summer House. So we're just kind of like, I don't know, have our fingers on the pulse today.
1:35Some days we don't have our fingers on the pulse. Today we do. Yeah. I wonder what's preferred, you know? For the episodes where we're like on it or not on it. I think there's a nice mix. And I think that's what makes it so great. It's like you never know what to expect. is this going to be a Pulse-y episode? We're on the Pulse to a degree. We're sort of Pulse-adjacent. But it's not like we're going to be all Pulse all the time. No. You know who I feel like is all Pulse all the time? Like the Vile Files. They watch every TV show. They watch it early. They have the episode up at 6 in the morning.
2:08We are like Pulse-adjacent. Yeah. We dabble with Pulse. Yeah. We Pulse here. We Pulse there. We dabble with low Pulse. god forbid heaven forbid low pulse why i have a runner's pulse that's what dr fox told me because my pulse is low you know me i don't get worked up can i feel your pulse yeah do you know about pulse but in what sense pulse i know how to find the pulse okay but like how would you know if it's slow or fast i don't know and like your watch is kind of in the way give me your other hand i'll take my watch off why don't you give me your other hand crossing over okay it's not like a good look for me.
2:46And then relax, yeah. I have to focus so hard. Hold on. And you're wearing headphones. Like, I think. No, it's feeling, not hearing. No, but I feel like it, like, throws up your balance.
2:59You're dead. That's what I'm saying. Great job over time. I can't find this. That's what I'm saying.
3:09You guys, I literally feel nothing. Hold on. I'm in the wrong spot. Let me see if I can feel it. I show you where it is. Do you want to know what's not on the pulse? It's checking each other's pulses. This is like a silent podcast where we look for. It's checking each other's pulses on the show. But yeah, no. Why is finding a pulse so hard? I literally can't find it. I thought you literally, oh, I found mine here. I'm alive. That's good. I'm alive. I don't know if I am. I have a low pulse, Dr. Fox said. You know me, I don't breathe a lot. I take one big sigh like every five minutes. Yeah, I feel like I did that when I was pregnant.
3:47It's like, oh, yeah, breathe. No, I'm a big sire. People will hear it from the other room. They're like, are you okay? I'm like, yeah, I just took my breath. For the day.
3:59Kind of big news for me, speaking of medical things like the pulse. I got my biopsy results yesterday, and they were, I'm not 100 % sure. She was kind of confusing me on the phone. I was looking for the words benign, non-cancerous, and I didn't hear either of those. So I was like, oh, great. I have cancer. Then she told me what it was. And thank God I wrote it down because I Googled it. And they said what I Googled is a benign non-cancerous. Mild to moderate. Mild to moderate, atypical, nevus. Okay, sly. And thank you. It's benign non-cancerous. Like, I just wish they had said that. Like, I have a real problem with the delivery of the results.
4:32Those are the key words. However, they need you to help them rack up those bills. Yeah, they do still want me to come in, of course. Like, I just can't. Like, I will. I will. But all I was looking for was benign non-cancerous and I didn't get that. So I literally was sitting here after the show and I totally had forgotten because I'm just so carefree. She took the call in front of a bunch of people. She was like, film me. I just feel like if I made it like so not a big deal, like I wasn't going to have cancer, you know. Like if I had to step out, it's like, well, that's when you hear that you have cancer.
4:58It wouldn't happen like in a room full of people. Yeah, with all my coworkers and my peers because I am peerless. I just feel like they weren't going to say malignant. And it turns out they didn't say malignant, but they didn't say benign either. So the results were questionable. They said Aladeen. They literally said Aladeen. They may as well have said Aladeen. Quite literally. That's how confusing it was. So that's what I did yesterday. Sort of like crazy times for me. Understood. Were we together yesterday? Oh, we got our nails done. I already chipped mine. Like seriously, kill me. Oh, I'm happy to go back.
5:31Yeah. Switch my color. We'll do that. And then I watched a lot of TV for my job. Yeah, me as well. Tell Me Lies, Summer House, very exciting. So many thoughts. So many thoughts. So many thoughts. When does Real Housewives of Beverly Hills come out? Thursdays, which is not helpful. No, it's today. It's Wednesdays. Oh, Wednesday. Great. And I feel like something else is coming out soon, too. On Bravo or just like in the universe? Bravo, maybe. It evades me. Oh, the new Bravo adjacent show for the old roni women has a name. They're calling it The Golden Life. I guess a spin on like how they're in their golden years.
6:08They're the golden girls, like older women living their best life. And I feel like they're really close. It also does say it's a working title. So it's subject to change. It's called the golden year, the golden girl, the golden life, the golden life parentheses, working title. So I think they're really close to the title. I hope they continue to work it. Cause I like the concept of like, they're in the golden state and how living their golden years. And I'm sure like golden girls is like trademarked. They're almost there. The golden life isn't working for me. Golden State is California, but it's definitely the Sunshine State.
6:37Sunshine State. My bad, my bad. Which is golden. I do like the word golden. I think there's a lot there. To work with. When I first heard Golden Life, I was like, huh? And then I was like, oh, yeah, golden years, you know, golden glow. I think there's a lot of potential. They put out a video of like all the housewives announcing the. I'm obsessed with these ladies. And it was so turned in the best way possible. It was so golden girls. It was so Rony OG. It was giving like made on like Instagram layout. It was hysterical. And if that's a taste of what we can get, it's mighty tasty. I just know.
7:08I just know Doreen is not well. Like it's killing her. I haven't thought about her one time. She's not an OG. No, of course not. But I loop her in with that group of like elderly women who drink a lot, who ruined the franchise. With their drinking. Right. I do wonder if this puts them in a bad spot with Bravo. Like while the women have not been on Bravo in many years, they're still on Watched Reppens Live. They go to BravoCon. They're part of the Bravo family. They get like weird spinoff opportunities. E is a sister of Bravo. I know. It's a sisterhood. And Bravo is all about the peacock. This is just the first time where like Bravo people have collectively jumped ship-ish.
7:46But it's ish. And I'm sure Bravo had first right of refusal and they didn't want the show and they went to E. And again, it's all under the NBC Universal umbrella. And NBC is going to be like, you better get, if this show is a success, they're going to say bring them to BravoCon. Or Peacock, yeah. It's a feather in everyone's cap. Yeah. I think it's all good. Okay. So we kind of have like a lot to do just because we are so pulse-y today. Yes. So there's nothing else. I just like can't remember a thing that I did yesterday. Oh, you know, my TikTok has taken me to the Epstein files and I would like to be away from it.
8:17It's very upsetting. And also like it's kind of confusing because it's like the files, but it's also like anonymous tips that people have submitted. So it's like not all 100%. but I've just like ended up like reading some really upsetting things about like these like women who were forced to have babies. Like I was, I saw something about babies. It was very, very upsetting. Yeah. and it just kind of ruined my morning. I was like scrolling TikTok while I was doing my hair. And then like these people like explaining to me what they found. Um, and I just like, it was very upsetting. Yeah. When I was in it for like the celebrity and like the only person who so far his name I heard, and there are three million documents.
8:51Like it will be thousands of names, but like Dr. Peter Atiyah, who I didn't even know, but apparently he's like a big podcaster. Is he the bald one? Yes, you know him. Oh yeah, he's always giving me tips. Oh my God, okay. And what salt to use. So he was a big customer of Jeffrey Epstein. Like his emails are so bad. Oh my God. And there's this thing in his book where he talks about this traumatic life event where his like young child ended up in the ICU. And he's telling the story, it all happened on July 11th. And he's telling the story in his book about like the day he wasn't home. He was in New York and his son was in the ICU in San Diego.
9:25And then like the emails from the Epstein files, like prove that he was like hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein on July 11. Like he said in his book that he didn't go home because of work when his son was in the ICU. And it turns out he didn't go home because he was like hanging out with Jeffrey Epstein. Wow. Yeah. No, it's really crazy. So, so far he's like the first like big like name who we'd never heard of. We were like, all these celebrities are going to be in the files. Like I want to hear more celebrities. But first it's Dr. Peter Atiyah, which is like so random. I don't even know him. I actually don't know him.
9:51He's not the salt guy. Okay. The salt guy. I had to find his name. He went on Matt and Abby one time. So his name has nothing to do with this conversation. But his Dr. Amen. You know him. He's another bald doctor who podcasts. Longevity doctor. Is that like that's what Dr. Peter Atiyah is. I'm like learning so much about this person I never knew. But apparently like he's like a Huberman type. People are obsessed with him. It's like devastating for his community. You know this man. No, I don't know that man at all. He's everywhere. I don't know that man. I'm sorry. Sorry to this man. You don't know him?
10:25If you saw him like talking into a microphone. He looks like Blair's stepfather from Cyrus. If you saw him talking to a microphone. Maybe it would ring a bell. Everyone is him. I must have missed that episode of Matt and Abby. We should have him on. You never know. I don't want to have people on. You never know. They might end up in the Epstein files. That's so true. Oh, and there was also an Epstein file where they're talking about Maddie Ziegler. Just like, no, not guilty. Maddie Ziegler's not a part of it. They were just like, did you see that music video? Like yucky. Like really? And then they also talk about like, these people are so dumb, by the way.
10:57Like they literally like, hey, want to be a pedophile? Like they don't care. But they do attempt in some parts to speak in a foreign language. And they use food being like, hey, I'd like a pizza. Yeah. They said pizza, hot dog, burger. And this guy, I think it was Dr. Peter Atiyah who was like, I'd like a hot dog with no bun. Like yucky, yucky, yucky. I'm very new. And also like it's hard to I think to discern from the files like what is just like was a submitted tip from the public and what is like a verified claim. So you do have to be careful. So like I'm just looking at actual emails like on TikTok, by the way.
11:32I'm not like reading the files. And this one particular girl who like ended up in a treatment center and she was like forced to have babies and she was like Ghislaine's girl. Like, oh, my God, fucking Ghislaine. Like I forgot about the Epstein saga. You know, it was like so many years ago. But it's really upsetting. Like it's not I'm not having fun. That's really upsetting. I feel like I was like, oh, yeah, let's get them. And now it's like, I'm upset. Yeah. Like, I was just in it for the celebrity. And like, all I got was Peter Atiyah. So far, like, I don't even know him. Yeah, there's there'll be more.
12:00But it's also confusing. There are so many names of people like so and so is named. And they keep saying it doesn't mean inclusion does not indicate involvement. Like they keep saying that similar. How like anybody who's ever had a picture, Cal Radswell, like her pictures with Ghislaine. Like that doesn't mean she was going to the island. so like I think you have to be it's not fair someone's named it doesn't mean no like Mattie Ziegler is not involved right but like yucky yuck well thanks yeah sorry my morning was ruined so I just felt like I had to ruin everyone else's okay that's really mature that's a mature way to feel I'm a very mature woman so that makes sense shall we get into the stories yes where we do have our pulse on the pulse though it's a low pulse around her's pulse The pulse on me is questionable.
12:44I couldn't find it. But my pulse on these stories is not questionable because I know everything. Without further ado, ado, ado, ado, here are the Fast Five stories that you need to know. We appreciate your business. Our first story, the search for Nancy Guthrie, Savannah Guthrie's mom, continues. And an odd twist. TMZ received an alleged ransom note for Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy, demanding millions in Bitcoin. Police are taking all tips very seriously, including this one. And the Bitcoin account was real. Yeah, so it could be real. The amount is in the millions. It's a substantial amount of money. And TMZ reports it has received an alleged ransom note demanding payment for the release of Nancy Guthrie.
17:40Yes, I believe also another local news station. So now two news outlets. It's giving amateur, by the way, like, I don't know why it's giving like. This is like your first ransom. You're sending it to TMZ. Like, I don't know. I don't get the connection. Well, now I feel like and this was, I think, a theory at first, like, was this random or is it because her daughter is very famous? And so I feel like sending it to TMZ is sort of a confirmation that this person targeted Savannah Guthrie's mother, not just like an old woman. You know, it's giving like, I know you have a wealthy daughter. Let me see what I can squeeze out of you.
18:12I'm really worried about her medication. Yeah. Like it seems like when someone is being held for ransom, like they're not trying to hurt the person per se. It's not like, you know, they want to kill them. They just want money. So they're holding them hostage, if you will. But the whole medication throws like a kind of complicated spin on it. And I could see this person like panicking, like dropping them off at a hospital, you know? Yeah. Like they didn't set out to kill this woman, but she's an elderly woman who needs her medication. Perhaps. They say she needs it every 24 hours. And I doubt they said on their way out, do you have any medication you might need?
18:41She also disconnected from her pacemaker. Oh, no. Why would the pacemaker do you need to be near like a. I don't know how it works, but like it stopped tracking her at a certain time. So. Oh, shit. Yeah. Maybe it just like didn't connect to like the Apple Watch or like if she didn't have it on her. Is there like a monitor that comes with it? But maybe. But she's still wearing it. I didn't know. That's so scary. That's what I had heard. What a just horrifying story. Like continues to get worse. Yeah. And as which we know with all abductions, the more time that passes without any sort of lead. But I feel hopeful that they have leads that they're not sharing.
19:17I don't know why I feel that way, but I feel like they're playing very close to the. Right. Because the person's watching the news. And I feel like sometimes when they have no leads, like they're like, anyone, please send us anything you have. Remember, like with the Brown University shooter and everyone sending their like ring cameras. Yeah, right. They didn't really have anything. You get an influx of information, which also can be like distracting. Yeah. I think they want information, but I feel like they have some stuff. God, I hope so. That's literally just a feeling. It's a vibe. Just. Yeah.
19:47I don't know. It's really sad. Oh, my God. It's so terrible. It's so terrible. Thinking of her and her siblings were seen like leaving the area and it's just a nightmare. It's a nightmare. A living nightmare. We'll keep you posted and hopefully we have better news. More updates. There really haven't been. Yeah. But I don't know. the TMZ thing is making me like suspicious, obviously suspicious situation, but you know what I mean? You know what I mean? Yeah. Our next story is a story for Claudia. That you, you've seen it. I, you knew it was happening, but for me, it's for you because Travis Kelsey jokes that Taylor Swift is going to kill him over this fumble.
20:26So Travi was recording his podcast, new heights with his brother, Jace face and, um, you know, them like that i didn't realize you knew them like that yeah you know i like nicknames yeah i like jace phase um and as they're recording he's like tipping the seat backwards and it made a loud crack yeah he broke the chair he broke the chair in taylor's house he said taylor's gonna kill me jason was like oh shit are you all right and chavi was like we're good i told you guys like her aesthetic and his physical build like it's a mismatch and i'm glad that she's decided to redesign we know her um Rhode Island mansion I hope some permits have been taken out in all of her homes like this is not like restructure the foundation this is not an ordinary man and also I get the vibe like just based on his reaction that like this is not the first time it's happened because he's like oh Taylor's gonna kill me like oh Travis breaking chairs again it's a serious issue and I tried to warn them about it like a year ago well I feel like she definitely has all this like antique doll furniture right and it's like you don't need to swap it all out at first like let's break it i don't know travis like doesn't want to feel like a stranger in his own home he should be able to sit in any chair yes but like what you're gonna get rid of them sort of prematurely let's live in them like and when they break we'll get new i just know why we have to wait for something bad to happen like travis could get hurt first of all he's a professional athlete you know how they say like professional athletes should not be doing like snowboarding or skateboarding in the off season because it could create an injury that affects him during the season.
22:00It's kind of if he's still going to continue to play like living in her like sort of antique home is a career hazard for him. And I do think that they need to go to Raymore and Flanagan. Also, he doesn't seem bashful in any way, but I have to imagine that breaking a chair is the most humiliating experience an individual can have. it's now she's getting into my clams casino, the scene in show how, um, where he goes to complain. Um, and he like, can't understand why Gwyneth Paltrow has broken this like steel chair. Um, yeah, I'm trying to think of a chair as it is as a person who's always struggled with my weight.
Read the full transcript
22:36I have to tell you, and I think every person who's ever like felt uncomfortable in their body will tell you like, it is something we're constantly thinking of. However, for Travis, like, I don't think he's uncomfortable in his body. Like, I don't think any part of him would be embarrassed by breaking a chair. It's probably like a flex. A point of pride. Yeah, I'm too big for the chair. Yeah, me and my big shoulder. Yeah, a thousand percent. But a broken chair never find me. No, no. I need to like buy a spell from a witch on Etsy. Like keep broken furniture away from me. I don't know if there is a more horrifying thing that could happen to you in public.
23:12I'm trying to think. I feel like it's happened to Ben. And it's obviously different for boys and girls. For sure. And Ben is not like easily embarrassed. No, but like in my line of work, I find that I'm always like being put in director's chairs, which just don't give me a lot of confidence because they're made with like a thin piece of fabric and like two wood parcels. If you broke that, you're human. Yes, of course. But anytime I go to an event and it's like, oh, it's like a speaking gig or whatever. And they're like, have you on a director's chair? I think I almost always am like, do we have other chairs?
23:42No, and it's not a flattering chair. I just don't like it. You can't really cross your legs so great because you don't have like the support. Right. For a shorties. Yeah. So just Travis out here living every girl's nightmare. And I'm sorry that that happened to you. Yeah. But I hope that you guys get like new pargy furniture, maybe a little restoration hardware. And maybe you and Taylor can use this as an opportunity to watch Shallow Hell because I think you guys would like it. And redecorate. Of course. In a way that speaks to both of your sensibilities and size. Yeah. There is a happy medium.
24:14Size and sensibility. They need to go to like a big and tall furniture store. Yeah. Well, I'm sure there's beautiful things. Of course. Restoration hardware. Restoration hardware is the solution that they're looking for. Everything from restoration hardware. The cloud couch, Travi would love it. I don't know. When I've heard about the cloud couch and when I go to people's houses, I'm like, oh, you paid$20 ,000 for this couch. It gets so lumpy and like it's meant to be relaxed, but it's very quickly becomes. It doesn't present nicely. Like when you, it's hard to set the room with a cloud couch because it always looks unmade.
24:43Right. So if you also have like an enormous man lounging on the couch there quite a bit and his friends and his big friends like and just like leaving, you know. Tushy imprints. Yeah. For lack of a better term. Yeah. You're going to be fluffing those pillows, those cushions all day long. Nobody wants that job. Yeah. The cloud couch is a mirage. And I think wealthy people tried to convince us that it was cool. And I'm glad that I never fell victim to the cloud couch. I feel like there's a time and place for it. okay in a media room oh like in a theater room yeah in a theater room that doesn't get used a lot yeah but I also feel like if I walk into your house and you have a cloud couch I can tell based on the state of your couch how much time you spend laying on the couch and then it's like not only do I have a messy couch I also like know people like I people know I lay around a lot well I feel like when you're like in your 20s and like you have an apartment like if you had a cloud couch that was such a sleigh it was and I feel like you don't spend that much time like on your couch and it's just like you're one or two people it's like you're pre-game you don't have the whole family like i feel like that's nice like if you're getting a cloud couch in your like young adult apartment slay all day but if you're a young adult with a cloud couch like your parents obviously bought it for you and then i just think you're like a spoiled brat oh well maybe a dupe or something yeah there was the ikea dupe and bob's discount furniture had a very good dupe i remember people talking about and then we also stayed in the house in the hamptons that had a cloud couch and we had an amazing experience did we podcast from it not the couch it wasn't it was in the You ever watched the Olympics?
26:11Yes. You remember? Yes, yes, yes. And it was fantastic. Yes, and we laid on it quite a bit. So if I'm a homeowner who's renting out my home, I'm not getting a cloud couch because it's going to look worse for the wear if we're showing up. But we enjoyed it. We did. Deep. And I would like a cloud couch for free. Oh, okay, for free. Yeah, I would also like a jet for free. For free. If we're just saying things. You know. Are you ready for our next story? Nicola Peltz's dad I saw I have so many thoughts Is breaking his silence on the Beckham family Feud he's not really breaking his silence I just want to say no he spoke on it I know but breaking your silence implies that like you're speaking On something and it's your choice I felt like it was actually Hella inappropriate and I think the Wall Street Journal interviewer knew it as well Because she was like skating around the issue and she like looked Nervous because she was asking an inappropriate question On the business summit So he participated in the Q &A session with Wall Street Journal invest live in West Palm Beach and he was asked about Nicola to which he quipped.
27:12Well he wasn't even asked like she was having such a hard time getting the question out that he eventually like saved her and was like yes my daughter. He said has my family been in the press lately? I haven't noticed at all. The interviewer was like you know you're used to negotiating high stakes situations like she was circling the train so bad like he actually threw her a life rat. He was like yeah so has my family like made a joke because he she seriously was struggling so bad because it was I'm sorry, so inappropriate. And I'm here for the tea, but it's inappropriate. A business summit. But do you feel like she felt like she had to ask about it because it's the biggest story in the world that he's very adjacent to?
27:49Yeah, he is adjacent to it, but he's really not. He is a major player, but not really in terms of like the front facing people. We're talking about the Beckhams. We're talking about Nicola and Brooklyn. Like we're talking about her family as sort of like in this like abstract kind of way. She could have very easily gotten away with not doing it just because I think it's inappropriate. It would have been more professional to not do it. Anyone who was like mad at her for not asking the obvious question, like could have just been like, this is a Wall Street Journal business summit. He's like a billionaire, very successful businessman.
28:17Like it's offensive to really stray into the gutters like this. Now, having said that, I'm learning a lot about Nelson. Is that his name? Nelson. Yeah. You don't meet a lot of Nelsons. It's a nice Mandela. Of course. He's like kind of the only one. And I feel like he did the name like so big that no one, I don't know anyone who's naming their kids Nelson. No, you don't see a lot of kids named Nelson. But it's a strong name. No, it is. I feel like it's a successful name, you know? So I didn't know much about him in like a personality sense. And I do feel like maybe she felt like she could ask the question because he is, seems like this very affable, nice guy.
28:56Yeah. And he was like making a joke out of it. And he basically said like, you know, I know my daughter. She's amazing. And we love our son-in-law. And we just want them to have like a very happy life. And I always tell them, like, do everything you can to stay out of the press. Yeah, that's what he said. He said, my advice is to stay the hell out of the press. Well, they didn't take that one. He said, my daughter and the Beckhams are a whole other story. And that's not for coverage here today. But I'll tell you, my daughter is great. My son-in-law, Brooklyn, is great. And I look forward to them having a long, happy marriage together.
29:23I don't know if he could have answered the question more perfectly. Like, now I'm left with such a wonderful, like, this is quite a man, you know. The impression of Nelson. my impression is overwhelmingly positive um and i'm definitely like thinking you know a man like that has to be raised like an amazing daughter you know what i mean like although i could see also a guy like that like making a soil brat like loving his daughter yeah yeah yeah but whatever i feel like the pelts is huge check in their column just based on this answer i think he might have also been caught off guard so like this was just his you know on the whim response and it It was amazing.
30:01I have to imagine he thought about the fact that he's doing press like that someone would ask him about it. So I feel like. This isn't press. This would have gotten literally no coverage. It was a business event. Yeah. I feel like that's what we said, though. It seems like both families are really great families. Like stable and grounded. Yeah. They both have parents who are married, which is insane. Loving. Yeah. Wealthy. So, I mean, it seems like a Nicola and Brooklyn self sort of thing. It kind of does. like they both and this is again just based on vibes like they both seem genuinely insufferable and that's sort of like not their parents fault no i think the peltz parents and the beckham parents just kind of need to hang out yeah and talk shit they probably have more in common than they think i think so i because it's never it's not been said that it's like they don't like them parents versus parents that it's like nicola and victoria and brooklyn and his parents yeah oh are you ready for our fourth story that's going to lead into our first tv recap yes because um actually no no like let's just do tv so i'm not ready yeah i think like this next section should be calling mike tv and it's brought mike it's from willy wonka i don't know that boy he was obsessed with literally me like he definitely in this day angel would have a podcast like a tv recap podcast for sure he'd say yeah he grew up to be nick vile i was just thinking that but then i'm like we mentioned nick vile twice on this podcast today is that like so weird no especially because i'm like involved yeah should we talk about it sure okay jackie this clip and i know jackie hadn't seen it because this clip came across i didn't know what was happening that like there's kind of like beef i don't know if there's beef i have to do a little bit more context to admit that there's beef because i don't i don't know anything about the situation.
31:50You just sent me a clip of Natalie talking about when she was on the toast. Right. And she was kind of like alluding to having like an uncomfortable conversation with you. But she was like seemingly upset about how you addressed her age gap. And then I found the clips think shout out to the girl who posted it. And not only did you not ask her like she offered it up. So she recounted. Also, I always like I feel like the first thing people think about them is age gap. I never remember it so I don't know if I learned about the age gap while she was sitting here or I had only recently learned about it but like I definitely didn't have a harsh reaction to it because I don't in my heart of hearts I don't feel that way like I feel like she they're they're beyond that they're beyond yeah like I don't see them as an age gap couple so yeah I don't so she went on her podcast after coming on the toast and like recounted the conversation and she did recount it incorrectly because then I watched a clip and that's not what happened oh I guess that's why she said I was asking her to do fast math because like she said she met Nick when she was whatever age and I was like oh so how old was Nick so she had to do the math on the spot maybe the math didn't math I know and like I think she was upset she had to do the math like that was the vibe I guess I could attend the math because I think she said it was simple math it's 21 plus 18 which how dumb are you is that 39 okay I think she was calling you dumb I you know what I'm not taking the bait like I had such a great experience yeah you did I loved her we've had such a good relationship with Nick for so many years I'm unless she's like text me to my face I don't like Like you like, I have no.
33:15Misunderstanding. Yeah, I really. And I'm sorry if she came away feeling that way. Because like I said, that's not how I feel. And that's also not how it was. I think they had like a beautiful relationship and a beautiful family. I watched a clip. So that's also just not how it went down. And I think they're meant to be. I wouldn't question meant to be. Okay. So I'm not taking the bait. I kind of am. And who's pitting us against each other? Do you feel like it's the internet? Well, no, I just saw this clip. Or the clip of her. I saw the clip of her like saying she doesn't like me in that. No, like rewriting history a little like about her.
33:48And, you know, you can't help how you feel when you walk away from a conversation. So like she's totally valid in that. But then to go on a podcast, like recount it like we saw the clip. That's not what happened. Yeah. So maybe I just feel fiercely defensive of my sister. Maybe you do. Maybe you do. But I'm just not internet enough for this. I know. I am. Great. So, yeah. Funny that we spoke about them a number of times today. Yeah. They're definitely on the mind because I sent you the clip. Yeah. Now, I also don't know if that clip is older than you. Claudia, when you sent me that clip, I was like, what am I watching?
34:17Someone is talking about me. I could not compute. And it was like a very short clip, like no context. I'm like, what? Yeah, right. What? Yeah. So I still don't understand. I don't really either. And I'm also not one to pile on. I feel like they're getting like hate right now. And like I'm never one to be like, yeah, I hate you too. So like seriously, sending love. Sending love. I had a great experience. Yeah. And like Nick, we've come too far to go home now with Nick Vile. No, nothing can come between us. No, we are thick as thieves. Okay, Mike TV is brought to you by. Whenever I say TV, I like always think of Mike TV. Oh, was that his name? Yeah. Sounds a little familiar. Yeah, he was like the fourth one. He got like sucked. No, I know him. He looked like the brother from Lizzie McGuire. He had like spiky hair. He wanted to be like in the TV. No, and he did end up in the TV. Yeah, and he couldn't get out. A dream. 39:29Our next story. In the City, Season 1 teaser video dropped at Bravo. So last night was the Season 10 Summer House premiere. And they also shared a teaser for the upcoming spinoff in the city. So we've talked a lot about this show. We've heard a lot. Everyone has sort of speculated. It's like the valley of the north of the northeast. And yes, they posted a teaser video in the city. It follows Kyle, Amanda and Lindsay into fall. You know, they transition Kyle from summer. Sierra. It's just the three of them at this moment. I don't think that's the whole cast, but like they're sprinkling breadcrumbs.
40:03I don't know if Sierra is a part of it because this show really is meant to be like the valley of the east coast where we see people go on to the next phase of life and they can graduate out of summer house. It was built for Lindsay Hubbard. in this era of her life, whereas other cast members can stay on Summer House. This isn't like Summer House continued. It's, you know. You could do both. It's the Beverly Hills to Vanderpump Rules pipeline. We're sending you on your way. I have actually high hopes for the show because I feel like even watching last night's premiere, so much has changed, but like the house hasn't.
40:34And I actually think for someone like Amanda, for someone like Lindsay, like in the city is perfect because sometimes like them going out to the Hamptons every weekend and staying in the share house like makes no sense. Yeah. And I feel like last night, you know, we have all these new cast members and I feel like some of the OGs like Sierra and Amanda like are making such a concerted effort because they're not acting like how they normally act on the first day of summer where they're just very set in their ways and they kind of ignore the new girls and leave them to like hang out with Lindsay.
41:03They're being so friendly, picking them up and like, you know, it's kind of weird. It's like, why are you acting so different? And it's like, because they have been forced to shift a little bit and it feels a little forced. And I think the city show might be a better fit for just who they like everyone likes them how they are yeah and it doesn't necessarily always work in the hamptons so just be yourself in the city like i do think that there's real potential with that show yeah and i feel like even amanda and sarah not going out the first night it sort of signals like the difference the divide in the house of like people who are past doing all of this and people who are still doing all of it but did they go out or did they take no cameras like it was so confusing cameras usually we see them getting in the car.
41:42I guess. I think they went out. And then it was 2 a.m. Like it was confusing. I think that they went out because they said they were going out. And sometimes they do like phone videos. Yeah. I might have like looked away for a second. So I don't know. But I thought that they went out. They need to like fix that. They need to be going out with cameras like the Jersey Shore. Like yeah, it's that's where everything happens. Yeah. But I think that now people, you know, if they're the bed bugs, bed bugging, it's like, OK, well, there's a path for the bed bugs. Right. And this could be there last summer in the house and that's fine but they are also trying to like be in the mix with the new girls and the new cast members also the whole storyline of last night and what will be the season probably is like kyle and amanda right and is anyone else not to be like a conspiracy theorist i feel like it's very clear that they are not together like in this right so on what happens live she said that they separated in october like so right after the summer before BravoCon.
42:37And I just feel like at this point, they are already like decidedly not together. And I think they're both really committed to the show. I think if they were decidedly not together, they would have been nicer to each other. I think that they are so like if they were putting on an athlete, I think the way that they're so uncomfortable acting in front of people in front of cameras, the way they're talking to each other is not a good look. Even though I think with hindsight, if you go watch like the last couple of seasons, the way they talk to each other, the way they interact. She's up at four in the morning.
43:06He's not home yet. It's funny how now watching it, knowing they're separated, it all looks like writing on the wall. Whereas I was thinking about it like previous seasons. No, but this is like a new level. They have not said one kind word to each other. The fighting at the table. The fighting at the table. Every conversation that each of them is involved in. I really do think this is like where the marriage is ending. I don't, they don't seem like they want to work on it, but I do think it is real because I think if they were pretending, they would have a little bit more manners towards each other.
43:36The DJing thing is so crazy. Yeah. And I think people online speculated that that was like a huge reason for the breakup. And I was thinking like, yeah, it's crazy. But like this is who he is. This is who he's always been. People were putting so much stock in him going on tour as a DJ and how like that was her final straw. And I was like, I don't know. I think it's like a little too simple. But I think that the DJing is the nail in the coffin. Well, I don't know necessarily how the DJ ended in the marriage. I think the marriage was ending. And so he went to DJ because he didn't want to be home all the time.
44:05And so it was like a symptom. Right. Not the cause. And what we talked about. But then that symptom caused other symptoms. We talked about how like the prenup, them not having a prenup lover boy. And I think you had said like, you know, I could see her just having foregone her half of it just to get out. And how it's really not as valuable as it once was. And on What Happens Live last night, she kind of confirmed that. because she was, you know, she said she didn't have a prenup and she said, everyone, no matter what marriage you're in, like, you need a prenup, like, just do it. She said, well, they'll be okay.
44:37Because they really get along very well. But Andy was like, but you're entitled to that, you know, piece of Loverboy. And she was like, well, yeah, maybe, but like, it's his thing. He has lived and died. Like, he literally gave up our marriage for it. So I'm not taking it. And I think it's very easy to say that because I do think the brand is presently worth a lot less than maybe it was at its peak. And I think Loverboy just caused her so much strife and drama. It's like, take it, be gone with it. I don't want to be a part of it. Then we have to work together again. Like just, it's a cleaner break.
45:05She should get like 5 % just for having been there. So based on my limited knowledge and just like people telling me things behind the scenes, I believe that Loverboy, and I think this is a storyline on In the City. I think Kyle is in major financial distress. Like I think he took out a lot of personal loans that he cannot. So I don't think there's just 5 % to throw around. I think it's like and that's why I think it was easy for her to walk away being like this is a mess. Yes, maybe at one point like five years ago, they were on track to like be a company that was going to sell to like Anheuser-Busch for$100 million.
45:37I don't think that's the case. I don't think. But he never took investors, right? So the whole point is he has 100 percent. So he has 5 percent. I do believe at one point he did take on investment because I was just reading this article about how like Bravo is the new incubator. And there was there is seed money in the very beginning. Okay. Yeah. Also, I think the DJing thing is an extension of Loverboy marketing. Because when she said that, you know, some people they DJ and then they go straight home to their families. He stays back. He talks to the owners. I think he's selling Loverboy into all of these places.
46:13I think that, like, it has been an engine for, like, Loverboy getting into bars and restaurants and clubs. Yes. And it's not just, like, I love music. And I think he enjoys DJing, but it's also more for lover boy. No, for sure. But I think what she's saying is like, yes, he can go DJ and have it be for lover boy and sell into these places. He doesn't need to be out all night. There are people who have successful jobs in nightlife and happy home lives. But every person I know who works in nightlife is sober, has multiple children, a very happy marriage. In order to be successful in nightlife, you can't be every night out till the break of dawn.
46:49So that's sort of the issue. I don't even think her issue is so much as him doing these events. Like he's always done events for lover boy. Then the problem is also like, he doesn't want to go home and she doesn't like, right. So say he goes home, say he came home every weekend to fight. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like he's, there's a reason he's not going home. They're not like happy together. And at this point they're not, they've given up. They're not working towards being better, but we've seen them every year, you know, working towards it. We're going to try this summer. And then after the summer, they say they're better and they've been working on things.
47:20And at this point they've both thrown in the towel. She will flirt with anyone who is and everybody wants to flirt with her. And this guy, Ben, what a cutie. Here runs. We have the chef Ben from, um, yeah. Uh, blow deck. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I, I ship and it's like, and they talked about that on watch. I'm inside people being like, you have a twinkle in your eye when you talk to him. Like what happened at that wedding? She was like, no, nothing. Yeah. The way she described the wedding was fine. But then she like gave a look to Sierra that made me feel like they're dating right now. That's just what it made me feel like.
47:50Oh, wow. Oh, even though she said on Watch Times Live again, like she would literally never date someone on Bravo specifically on her show either. He is on Bravo now. Oh, OK. So her bringing him is like her saying no, you know? Oh, OK. Well, she also said that she was asked, like, who do they think is going to date again first? And she said, I think me. Yeah. I mean, yeah, I feel date like or have sex, you know? I think like be in a relationship. Well, her because relationships are not for him, clearly. so it's it's really um sad to watch it's it's uncomfortable and I feel like it's going to be the entire season and then it's going to be all of in the city because in the city wrapped before bravo con she said that they separated right before bravo con so I think that's how in the city ends is with them deciding to separate so that means that this is like four months of this so old it is kind of it is kind of in the city which hasn't even premiered yet is from October where I don't know.
48:47Oh, I thought you meant like four months of like it's tea and whatever. But like a certain point, like we got it. Like I don't know. We're like watching things in real time with social media. Like I just feel like Hulu and all these they really raise the bar for turnaround times. And like this just feels so ancient. Yeah, I'm sure there'll be other storylines in the city and other cast members. Yeah, we need Lindsay. Oh, my God. Last episode was really boring. I'm sorry. Lindsay is such a personality hire. Yeah, she's not like dating. Who gives a fuck? Like she's so funny. And I do feel like she is very authentic the way that she like interacts with the new people and something about last night like seeing these cast members who have like quite literally never made an effort with the new people like forcing it i was just like who are you trying to fool yeah it's crazy that this is the job a million girls would kill for and i feel like the two girls that they got the blonde girl bailey i can't believe they have another girl named bailey after last season's bailey she definitely has more of a personality and like she might do well the other girl was so quiet well just it's episode one i know but you have to come into i'm sorry you have to come into these shows like Lexi I think people who come in too strong like they want it too bad they're trying too hard it doesn't go well I like a slow burn I'm not I'm not judging either of them yet but what I do like about them is that they have and like they have a good positive energy they want to have fun they want to meet people I think they're like the right agent in the right place and they've got the right mindset and so I'm I think it's trending positively.
50:08They're acting like Lexi never existed. Like it was so crazy. Do you think she was fired or that she left? I think that she was not asked back. And it actually made me really sad to think about because it's like she came onto the show and was just like swooped. And like she was into Jesse, but like he didn't give her a choice because he was going to be dating. Like he loved her. The girls were just really awful to her. And he like totally capitalized her time and her storyline and everything. even though I don't know why she wouldn't be asked back like she's exactly what they were looking for like young girls she was going out she was doing all the outfits like she has the background and he chewed her up and spat her out it's kind of terrible and the network took his side it actually makes me really sad yeah and I just feel like it can't be overstated how like in addition to him chewing her up and spitting her out like how the girls were not there for her one bit yeah and it was like kind of sad and painful to watch and it's like she liked him back but it's as if she didn't have a choice he was so into her like he was going she had no other storyline to follow no it's like actually really sad it is really when he was like sitting in bed with sierra talking about like west like they didn't even bring up lexi like your girlfriend from last summer who's in the house yeah where's our west meter now hours or hour i mean like season one was like 10 10s across the board season two after the reunion And it was a zero.
51:28I'm kind of indifferent. Then we got to like two, three last season. Yeah, I feel like the harsher Sierra was with him, like the more I kind of felt bad for him because like his crime was breaking up with her, which like he is allowed to do. So I feel like now that she's kind of cooled off, like I actually just don't care anymore. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. And now it's like their show, like West and Jessica. It is. It's actually crazy. Like they are doing press and I guess like a few people got plucked to go on Fallon. And it's Lindsay Hubbard, as she should. She built the show brick by brick and West.
51:57like it's crazy isn't that crazy yeah they did this clip they were playing a game called imposter with jimmy west and lindsey like let me tell you i was cracking up like premium social media content i watched it while i was getting ready this morning like chuckling it was basically like two of them are a traitor one of them is a traitor and the two like they don't know who the traitor is so they do word association with a topic like the topic is beach so jimmy goes sand and so you have to like pretend like you know what the topic is i was cracking up oh that's funny yeah i know It was like really funny.
52:26We should play.
52:32Yeah. Yeah. Wes points to have a nice summer. Yeah. I don't care. He's also important to the life of the show. Like he's very affable. He's the future. The new guy is his friend. He's funny. Like he's was very well liked with the exception of what happened after season two. Like he had one of the best first seasons. What's the word? Like he, he paid the, he did his time. Yeah. He's out of jail. Yeah. He's yeah. And then he say that, or that's like, they said he's on probation and he was like, it's better than jail. Yeah. No, but he is. And like, yeah, in hindsight, in hindsight, like her big issue with him was that they broke up, which is devastating.
53:11And that he did a New York times article about their breakup, which is just sort of like part of his job. I think he did a New York times article about his, his, his himself and on the show. Yeah. It wasn't about the breakup. Sorry. Yeah. And it was covered and she didn't like the way that it was spoken about.
53:30So I am personally over it. Yeah, it's tabula rasa. He is too much of a value add to the show to for us to keep caring about this. Yeah. He didn't do anything bad or wrong. Like, yeah, no. And it's time. He navigated a breakup in the way that he thought was right. Yeah. Time served. Yeah. And so, yeah, we'll see what the what the season holds in. where it really just seems to be about like the dissolution of the marriage but to me like that episode it's over yeah not one kind moment yeah painful the going to bed like just he walked into the house they drove separately oh that was weird yeah that's what i mean when i say like that it's also forced like i really think that they they probably knew that it was they were going to eventually because they weren't trying to make it better but i think that they would have been more respectful to each other if they knew that it was over and like we're just playing on a show the way that they talk now when she's like we talk very respectful very good we can be friends he made like a toast to her at the premiere party said nice things about her because the future is bright yeah our fifth and final story tell me lies recap yes okay felt a little repetitive this episode i can't lie like nothing major except for brigley brig okay i'm obsessed i am too However, I didn't love that their first kiss was like a musty morning after kiss.
54:55Ben said it and I was thinking her breath. Of course. Must have been so rank. She slept on the floor of her teacher's house. Okay. She was out all day because it was a day party the day before drinking. I just know she smelled so bad. Yeah. That I couldn't romanticize it. I didn't find it romantic. I was like, you're not going to kiss right now. Yeah. It would have been better if like when she woke up at the teacher's house, they showed her just like going to the bathroom, like washing her face. refreshing maybe rinsing some maybe or like using some of marianne's creams it would have been like a like a psychotic thing i like that but she would have been fresh as a daisy oh i love that um it was a very upsetting episode for lucy like that game first of all i hate that freshman like girl run for your fucking life like no one can tell her anything no no one could tell her anything and like no one's even tried because diana and lucy if they say something to her like steven They look like jealous.
55:47No, but like if Steven finds, if she, if they were successful in saying something to her, Steven would have his revenge with them. They can't do anything. So he didn't send the pictures to the school. He sent them to her dad, which like, I'm relieved, honestly, because her dad, they'll work it out. Like it's a temporary. Yeah. It's a temporary thing. Like just so many upsetting the whole, I'm not really understanding the Alex thing. Which part? The end. Okay, so like the whole time he's been like a good guy. He's been a good guy. He sees her as like a wounded burden. So he doesn't want to like, you know, be rough with her.
56:26He wants to take care of her. I think he's like a caretaker the way he took care of Brie. Yeah. From his childhood and everything. But like. There's a dark side of him? No, I just think that he is. Moving on from like seeing her in that way, which is what she wanted. Okay, but I was getting the vibe that like she sees in him like a dark side where he likes the like rough and tumble. Like, I don't know. Not in a way, like what he said, like not if it's coming from a place of trauma. He didn't want to do it when he thought it was like she was coming from a place of trauma. And how does he see, how does he not see that it is coming from a place of trauma?
57:00Cause she's sitting on the bed crying. She's like crying for other reasons. It's not crying because of Chris, you know, he thinks she's crying because of Chris, she's crying because she made that video. Like, it's like separate things and she's doing it. It's not, I guess it ultimately is trauma, not the trauma he thinks but like she wants like punish herself for the bad things that she's done it's a lot i'm not gonna like pretend to understand all of it but i i i feel like i don't think he's like a bad guy at all i think he's actually a good guy and i think like people are having conversations about like the conversation between diana and lucy lucy think i was gonna say lisa i'm like what the hell's her name um about like how to handle steven and like hers is like Yeah.
57:43Diana's is very like she's protecting herself. But yeah, she's not like, you know, getting justice and he's not going to be put. But it's like a way to live versus Lucy. He's like, well, this is injustice and we have to fix it. Like, yeah. In an ideal world, sure. But like you guys have to coexist and you have to live. So like Diana's method is the more effective one. Yeah. I think Diana's method is the only way through. He's graduating soon. Hopefully we could all move on. And you just don't want to set him off. and look at the wedding diana's the one who has successfully escaped his grasp she's moved on she seems to be a successful lawyer she's in a relationship with pippa whereas lucy's still having sex with him and playing whatever games that they play yeah very upsetting yeah it was very upsetting the party like the way lucy was just like skulking around like just nervous at every corner and also like like you said it doesn't occur to these people like lucy specifically that she can transfer.
58:38And again, it would solve all of her problems. She also can start hanging out with a different group of friends. Yeah, she is considering study abroad, which is good. But we haven't heard back from that. That would be next semester and Stephen is leaving. Right. So not really necessary. Or like if Stephen's going to a party, like don't go. She doesn't actively avoid him. And it's, you know, not fair to blame her because he's the evil one. But like she seems like she wants to get away from him in some instances, but she doesn't take any active steps to doing that. Yeah, I feel like last season she did.
59:06Yeah. She was like being better. She was. And then he got his grips in her again. Yeah. Yeah. I don't. I don't fully. I guess that's just like, you know, the toxic cycle. Right. But he's so awful. Yeah. It's really crazy. And that game was crazy. But anyways, we have our Brigley. Oh, by the way, obsessed with that game. Like when you're not like in a crazy group of people, we should play. That sounds so fun. I would never take this. I would just be like, OK. Obviously. And I was wanting to shake Lucy. don't fucking drink. That's a way to protect yourself. You want to rise above? Great. They literally gave you away.
59:43And what was her question? Who hates himself the most? Oh, yeah. From Evan. Who was fucking writing these questions? Obviously, Steven wrote a few. And she wanted an interesting game. The girl. She's wild. It was giving housewives. Who plays a game like that? Yeah. I feel like they'll play it on housewives. I never heard of this game before, but it's so housewives coded. Yeah, I would not drink. I don't care what you guys think of me. Seriously, you're all low life losers. You're going nowhere in life. I'm all set. TTYL. TTFN. Ta-ta for now. So, yeah, that's Tell Me Likes. It's episode eight. So, like, what is their 10 episodes?
1:00:23Oh, so this was the story that Brie and the actor who plays. Oh, Evan was being a real prick. Yeah. I feel like that was very incongruous with the guy that we know. Like, he really loves Brie. I feel his love is really genuine. And this sort of groundbreaking moment, him being like, well, why didn't you tell me? Yeah, but I think that comes from him being so loving and possessive of her, where it's like he wants to be the number one person. You would think he would be on his best behavior because he just got her back and like, whatever you want, Brie. Yeah. But yeah, he's acting a little incongruous, I would agree.
1:00:55It was confusing. Yeah. It was just like they needed him to conveniently become the villain. Well, they said that Brie said that the finale is going to blow up the Internet. Really? Is it this a series finale? No, I don't. There's one more season. It feels like there's too many loose ends. Yeah. And like it's the middle of the second semester of their sophomore year. Like they could do. They have more. The younger girls have more. Once the boys graduate, I think it's over. Well, that's this semester. There's one more semester. Yeah, it's spring. How can we do one? They just came back from Christmas.
1:01:29season what time of year is it like I think it's like February oh Valentine's Day right oh so they're only like weeks away from the finale they still spring break yeah I feel like they could equal out and who would not go do another season of such a successful show yeah okay yeah but after Alan Cumming saying that like the traders banquet was the biggest thing traumatized and it was like fine I'm not believing Brie I I thought I was like, you know, shrewd and jaded and I completely fell for that. So we'll see if this really blows up the Internet. I'm going to need another Brighley kiss. That's not disgusting.
1:02:12Just putting that out there. Please and thanks. It would have been like sweeter to hug in that moment. Of course. And just sort of like they've come to terms like we're stopping fighting each other. Like, let's just. We know. And you're here for me. It's not just about like, we'll get to the kiss, you know. But right now you're just here for me. Yeah, especially because it was this traumatizing evening for her with her teacher. Yeah, it was not like sexy. Or cute. People are being like, we got her hashtag Briggly because I went on Twitter after to see what people were saying. And I'm like, we got breath.
1:02:43I don't know what you guys just saw. I saw breath. You had the same reaction. Me and Ben had a whole conversation about it, actually, because he was shocked.
1:02:56that's so us i don't know why you would i would think that like that you would have escaped me yeah like it's of course my first thought you know i'm obsessed with breath yeah and it's like everyone's waiting for this kiss and like that's yucky on the stoop outside of her teacher's house where she just spent the night in her gothic makeup and the musty nature of the whole affair well that's our show you guys thank you so much for listening to the toast the millennium morning show where we deliver the Fast Five Stories to the Internet for Monday through Friday on YouTube.
