It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the Toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Wednesday. That feels like a Monday because today's set is giving rebirth, re-energy. We are vlogging the whole experience, but we've done a little bit of a studio makeover. Now, no shade to this lovely establishment, but the furniture just wasn't our particular swirly style. So if you're watching on YouTube or on Spotify today, yes, new chairs, new rug, new table.
0:45Jackie Oshry:Hey, Jax, how you doing?
0:46Claudia Oshry:I'm doing good. I'm so excited to be in this new environment. And I actually feel like even though you said yesterday that you're vibe less, I do feel like this is your vibe. Really? Yeah, like that table feels like your vibe. That table is my vibe. I love rattan. You do love rattan. Add it to the vibe.
1:02Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I have a couple of rattan pieces of furniture. Yeah, add it to my mood board. I'll tell chat. But we have just, you know, placed a couple of orders from Wayfair. Yes. Everything came unassembled, so the journey was a little, but we're in chairs. Like, I just, one thing might be, I need a wide chair. Yeah. If the chair doesn't allow me to sit cross-legged or sometimes I like to put my feet like up on my tushy, I just need options. And the chairs before, while, you know, I appreciate the work that they did, like not giving a lot of options. Right.
1:26Claudia Oshry:No, we're definitely feeling like myself again.
1:29Jackie Oshry:One thousand percent. Yeah. Oh, today's episode is just going to be, and this chair is a little bit more coccidinia friendly, not to accuse this establishment of ableism, but wasn't very coccidinia friendly.
1:40Claudia Oshry:So I think it looks super cute. I'm excited to hear what everyone thinks. I feel like we find now swirly summer can begin. Love Island is over. It's like a Super Hamptons look. And it's so cute. We've got our green. We've got our rattan. We've got our woodedness. Thank God. Because.
1:57Jackie Oshry:Because. Thank God for what? That like we got these chairs. And honestly, shout out to Jax. Took the initiative. Placed the orders. She obviously spent a little bit more than I had budgeted for the project. But that's on compromise. You get what you pay for. Yes. And so far, I'm extremely pleased. Like this rug, I literally would have scrolled right past it. It's perfect. And that's on vibes. Yeah, that's on vibes.
2:17Claudia Oshry:So yeah, it's definitely a new fresh energy here at the Terst.
2:21Jackie Oshry:And the perfect energy we're bringing to today's show because it's Wednesday. Wednesday. I'm having a hard time keeping track of the days. Yeah.
2:26Claudia Oshry:It's Wednesday. Because the days start coming and they don't stop coming.
2:29Jackie Oshry:Oh, but if then you hit the ground running, didn't make sense just to live for fun. Your brain gets smart, but your head gets dumb. So much to do, so much to say. So yeah, I'm excited for the fresh energy. What are the stories like today? We have no segments, no TV recaps, like nothing holding us back. Like we can just be.
2:46Claudia Oshry:We can just be. I actually have a little bit of a TV recap because I have an announcement to make. You finished Elle or you're done watching Elle? I'm halfway through. I don't know how long the season is, but I probably am on like episode five or six. It's the most amazing show. You're kidding. I've seen it in such a long time. I love it. Why? Did the capitalists rebel? No. So you know what? Let me tell you, I love those commies. Oh. Like they're so, it's so sweet. And the first episode is definitely like a little cringy because they're like proving the point and she's coming from bel-air and she's like so bel-air and now she's like settling into seattle and there's just so much heart in the show like wow always has so much heart yes you know she leads with her heart she does and she's so earnest it's an earnest play and like her mother is so wonderful as well and it's like just the family is so great the mother like redecorated their house in seattle like in the span of more seattle in the span of like four minutes in the episode like one day she did a chair and like the next day the house is done and it's so pargy vibe Like that's the vibe.
3:43Claudia Oshry:So it's just like beautiful to watch. And so the family unit is so great. And of course like Elle's making friends and putting herself out there. Does Elle have siblings? No. No, she's such an only child. And those Seattle kids, like they're really starting to grow on me. Stop. Now there's like two love interests. And she's like toying between them? Yeah, sort of. Like she doesn't know that she is yet, but you can see that's how it's going. And like I just like love Elle and Miles. Like I really do. Which one's Miles, the skater boy? I feel like he's the one that you saw. Like he's not, he's kind of ugly, I guess.
4:13Oh my God.
4:13Jackie Oshry:Okay. Like way to be mean.
4:16Claudia Oshry:I love them. Like I seriously love them. And I know like Dustin, you know, he's the, the enemies to lovers. No, no, no. He's becoming like an enemies to lovers trajectory. But like from the minute Miles saw Elle, like he knew that she sparkled. And like Dustin was fucking mean to her. So like, I like Dustin as a friend for Elle and I.
4:34Jackie Oshry:He doesn't like, he doesn't like need to learn to appreciate Elle. Like the other one just did.
4:38Claudia Oshry:No, just like the way that Miles has looked at her since the minute she arrived in Seattle. Like, I just love them so much. And I like Dustin as a friend for her. She's making like a nice little group of friends. And it just has so much heart. It's so cute. It's making me so happy. Like, I can't wait to go and watch. Wow. I haven't felt this way about a show in so long. I'm shocked. It's amazing. Like, when I finish it, like, I might watch it again. Like, it's so amazing. And, like, I know that if you watch it, I can't tell if you'll, like, if the good will outweigh the bad for you. because there are things to make fun of and I know you're going to hate Miles.
5:08Claudia Oshry:Like I just know you're going to like think he's like, like I just know. I just know. What am I thinking? He's like smelly? No, no, no. He's not smelly. He runs track. Smelly. No, but like he's a star athlete as far as like as much as Seattle can have those. Also, I guess like the whole like grungy thing is more of a testament to the 90s than it is like Seattle. Oh,
5:30Jackie Oshry:that's right. It's a period piece. Yes.
5:32Claudia Oshry:And I do feel like that's been a little bit of a miss because it is a period piece. I feel like it really could have ushered in this like 90s fashion renaissance. And instead it's just like Elle Woods and then like a bunch of flannel plaid. And they're making like the grunginess more of a Seattle thing when it really was a 90s thing. People were saying in the comments. So like that's a little bit of like a miss on the vibes for me. But the show just has so much heart. It's so amazing. Everybody should watch it. And like she is so Elle. Like there are moments where I don't know if she's like doing it intentionally.
6:01Claudia Oshry:But she'll like walk a certain way or she'll like give a smile or something. I'm like that's from the movie. Like that's out. That's nice to hear. This actress has nailed Reese Witherspoon's mannerisms. And I also think the mom reminds me so much of like a grown up Alexis Rose from Schitt's Creek. Oh. The way she like talks and everything. And also James Van Der Beek is in the show. What? Yeah. Posthumously? Yeah.
6:24Jackie Oshry:Well, no.
6:25Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So I wonder like. Who does he play? He plays a mayoral candidate.
6:29Jackie Oshry:Okay. Not them getting political. Yeah.
6:31Claudia Oshry:No, they do like get a little political, you know, but like not really in a way where it's just like bipartisan you know down with the elites totally down Seattle yeah and it's not that they're a bunch of commies like it's more so like conformity versus non-conformity right but what they're missing is that Elle is such a non-conformist look she's goes to that school she's the only one in the other color y 'all are conformists by trying so hard to be non-conformist you have conformed to being non-conformists well you're definitely making me want to watch it I think everyone should watch it especially like they really they took care of our girl well i watched a movie and
7:07Jackie Oshry:like i watched there's something about mary and i realized like halfway through that i thought i was watching sweeter than no what's that um uh yeah we love that cameron diaz movie that takes place in san francisco sweet the sweetest thing the sweetest thing i got confused and i realized like and i know something there's something about mary that movie sucks like i was watching this i'm like why did i choose this and then i realized i didn't but it did make me think like whatever happened to Matt Dillon do you remember him no the actor he was like in everything that remember happens I know but I feel like he got old I feel like he purposely like took a step back maybe he got this guy he's around I don't really think that he is he was like one of those 90s heartthrobs and now I guess yeah he's just like an old guy but he was in everything until he wasn't yeah so wouldn't
7:52Claudia Oshry:recommend something about Mary like I think everyone's like either seen it or like it's you You know, it's over. Yeah.
7:58Jackie Oshry:I really wanted to watch the other movie, The Sweetest Thing. Love that movie. Love that movie. My bad. You have to watch Elle.
8:05Claudia Oshry:Like, you have to. Mandatory viewing.
8:07Jackie Oshry:Oh, wow. Okay.
8:07Claudia Oshry:It's so swirly. And, like, camp, you know? Yeah. I feel like I haven't had that feeling since, like, watching Riverdale. Wow. That's kind of a huge comparison. So, like, I think we need a show called After Elle.
8:20Jackie Oshry:Elle Dale. I'm obsessed. Should we start the official Elle After Show? Are they dropping episode by episode? I think it's all out.
8:26Claudia Oshry:and they were renewed for season two. So like I'm safe. I've been marked safe. Yeah, from the curse. But now that you love it so much. I know, but I think it's bigger than me. You know, like Hello Sunshine is there. Was Mindy Kaling involved in this at all? It feels like she was, but it's Reese.
8:39Jackie Oshry:Right, but didn't they say that Mindy Kaling was writing the script for Legally Blonde 3? They said that like five years ago. The movie. Which is still happening.
8:45Claudia Oshry:It is. Apparently, allegedly. And I guess if this does really well, it'll like create demand for more Elle. Well, kids these days, I just want to say,
8:53Jackie Oshry:are definitely, you know, have a lack of positive role models, especially for women. And I think that Elle, obviously, like, you look at her, she, like, looks shallow pink. But she's so much more than that. Like, the OG Elle, and now I guess Elle, the documentary, the prequel, she really is an excellent role model for women. She is. So I do think that the youth could learn. They don't know Elle Woods. Like, they maybe have heard of it, but, like, they don't know the lore. And I think that the prequel, hopefully being popular amongst youth, will help today's generation.
9:20Claudia Oshry:I think it is popular. So if you've been on the fence, a 1 ,000 person. This is like two thumbs up.
9:27Jackie Oshry:I can't remember the last time you so emphatically liked something. I know. It's so much fun to like something. It is. It's also fun to be a hater, I just want to say.

9:35Claudia Oshry:No, but I feel like people think I approach something and I want to hate or dislike it. That's so not me. I seriously give everything a wide berth. And I'm very disappointed when everything is shite and everything is shite.
9:47Jackie Oshry:Speaking of things that are not shite, Paige Paul. Paige Paul. She was going to be a story. Oh, well, there's not really a story. Like, we just know that she changed her Instagram handle.
9:55Claudia Oshry:She's Paige Paul now.
9:57Jackie Oshry:She's Lucy Wyman now.
9:58Claudia Oshry:Well, she got married yesterday. She changed her Instagram handle.
10:00Jackie Oshry:And the only way people knew was because she changed her Instagram handle. Yeah. A couple of influencers were at the wedding. So, like, if. Yeah, and people aren't being shy.
10:06Claudia Oshry:But, like, there's definitely, like, an embargo until she posts. I'm so excited to see. Me, too. Like, what do you think?
10:12Jackie Oshry:Strapless, silk, long sleeve. Like, I. I think maybe long sleeve. And, like, lace. I feel like the bridal industry. like if I'm a if I'm Haley Paige like I design wedding dresses I'm looking at what Paige Lorenz Paul is wearing and like I'm that's my next collection because everyone is she's very influential yeah I'm so sad and they got married on Nantucket did they I think so I don't know
10:36Claudia Oshry:I'm pretty sure okay well hopefully like details today like yeah like don't be Taylor it's annoying no I think a lot of people like wait too long for whatever reason they might have like an exclusive with so-and-so they have to wait till it comes out or whatever and you kind of miss the moment you do i can think of a couple times people have missed the moment on their own things well
10:54Jackie Oshry:and speaking of missing moments something really interesting is that they did like the time digital whatever and alex earl was the cover star first of all she looked sick like one of the best photoshoots i've ever seen of her and they did like a bunch of interviews and one of the this
11:06Claudia Oshry:is the story so do you want to just get alex hooper thing alex earl and alex hooper yeah oh on time magazine hundred creators no no but like but like the alex earl of time magazine hundred creators yeah like i don't really care about the list i'm talking about like alex are on the cover of time magazine okay so we'll just wait any interview sorry we'll just wait otherwise like what else would we be talking about today ourselves no no in terms of stories oh spain won you guys and then england argentina is tonight and like no i thought spain beat argentina now no no i need argentina hasn't made it to the final yet but like who did spain beat france
11:38Jackie Oshry:yeah spain beat france ah you know me i'm like low-key french phobic and for me like my
11:44Claudia Oshry:predictions are sort of coming true oh what did you say it was i said spain argentina it could very well be although i'm rooting for england i'm kind of rooting for england too like for the beckhams but you know the kids love messy yeah maybe we should watch i think i'll root for leonel leonel leonel leonel messi it's all good like i'm happy for everyone
12:06Jackie Oshry:um i don't really know much about spain except that you know david played for real madrid
12:11Claudia Oshry:I prefer to play for Real Activiste obviously it's not even a competition
12:18Jackie Oshry:everyone who plays for Real Madrid couldn't make the Real Activiste team
12:21Claudia Oshry:it's sort of the JV team
12:22Jackie Oshry:thousand percent the minors okay so it's either going to be France versus Britain or France versus Argentina
12:32Claudia Oshry:no no no no start again Spain versus England or Spain not in the World Cup for some reason Spain versus England or Spain versus Argentina which is what was my prediction
12:46Jackie Oshry:I feel like Spain versus Argentina would be more of a big deal just because like Argentina is a huge deal and it's all the Latin countries it would be huge for Latin America England feels kind of ranting here oh Spain's not in Latin America but they speak Spanish you know what I meant, the Latin community
13:06Claudia Oshry:and for Spanish speaking
13:08Jackie Oshry:I was talking more linguistically than regional.
13:11Claudia Oshry:I understand. But you did like, I was going to let it slide.
13:14Jackie Oshry:I don't like talking about the World Cup because I feel like it shows how little I know about geography and flags.
13:18Claudia Oshry:I was going to let it slide until you said something that made it seem like Spain is in Latin America.
13:22Jackie Oshry:I meant Latin America community wise, not regional wise. Okay. My bad, my bad. I'm sorry. Please like forgive me for my for your slip of the tongue. Yeah. Forgiven. Thanks.
13:38Claudia Oshry:So that's tonight.
13:39Jackie Oshry:That's your sports update, I guess. Yeah. Okay. Good luck, everyone. Yeah.
13:44Claudia Oshry:I look forward to finding out who won tomorrow. I know.
13:47Jackie Oshry:It's like I say I'm going to watch and like I make plans to. I'll be watching Elle.
13:53Claudia Oshry:Yeah, right. Sorry. Go for Elle. I need to see if the Rainier West cross-country team is going to win the homecoming game. The what? Don't spoil it. My name of their school, Rainier West.
14:03Jackie Oshry:Oh, that's a miss. Rainier.
14:05Claudia Oshry:I don't know. I guess it's like what schools in Seattle are called. I don't know why. Like actually schools in Seattle are called forks. I don't know why the whole like show and where I was like acts like Seattle is another planet. Have you ever been? No.
14:17Jackie Oshry:It is. Let me tell you, I never felt more far from home than when I spent like three days in the Pacific Northwest. Not only is it geographically so far, like you think the longest flight from New York is L.A. Nuh-uh. It's longer to PNW. And the people like it's actually a cultural like you are might as well be speaking a different language. Like it is such a different life that, yeah, I understand why they're making it seem like such a big deal. I feel like people don't talk enough about how it's a part of this country in only a physical sense. Interesting.
14:47Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Well, then they also like. Kind of like Hawaii. Yeah. They're the inventors of Starbucks. True. So Starbucks has like a big, not a big moment on the show. Yeah, they're like a coffee. But they're like woven in and you know, like the market. Yeah, the market. The market. The tower. The tower hasn't been there yet. Okay. Of course, like Seattle Grey's, Grey's Anatomy. Does Grey's Anatomy take place in Seattle? Seattle Grace. Yeah, I think so. Seattle Grace?
15:10Jackie Oshry:What are you saying?
15:11Claudia Oshry:That's the name of the hospital they work at.
15:13Jackie Oshry:No, it's not.
15:14Claudia Oshry:I think it is.
15:16Jackie Oshry:No, because Grey, I've just learned, is her last name.
15:19Claudia Oshry:Grey's Anatomy. Seattle Grey? Suh.
15:22Jackie Oshry:Seattle Grey's Hospital?
15:24Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
15:25Jackie Oshry:I don't think that's true. I think it is. What's the name of the hospital from Grey's Anatomy?
15:36Jackie Oshry:Grace Loan Memorial. Oh, wait, no. Grace Loan. The hospital's named after her? Maybe at the end of the show. Maybe by the end of the show. Throughout the show's run, the facility has undergone a few name changes after various mergers and buyouts. Hence the confusion. Seasons one through five, Seattle Grace Hospital. Season six through nine, Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. Season nine is your present. Grace Loan Memorial. Okay. Okay.
16:00Claudia Oshry:So Seattle Grace. Because if I ever saw Grace Anatomy, it was like the early episodes.
16:04Jackie Oshry:No, and I've never seen Grace Anatomy. And I'm proud of that.
16:07Claudia Oshry:So now without further ado-do-do-do, it is time for the Fast Five Stories that Yerda Do need to know.
16:12Jackie Oshry:And we couldn't have a more perfect segue into our first sponsor. Today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by Outshine. Outshine is the official snack of Swirly Summer. So they are refreshing frozen snacks made with real simple ingredients like real fruit and fruit juice to help you snack brighter. Because Outshine believes when you snack good, you feel good. They offer a wide variety of fruit bars in crave-worthy flavors. So the snack is very refreshing, but it's also guilt-free because almost all of Outshine bars are under 100 calories. And I don't think you could say that a lot about a lot of summer frozen treats.
16:43Jackie Oshry:No, no. It's a time for indulgence, but the Outshine ones taste just as good. They're so fresh. They're so refreshing. But you don't have to ruin your whole day by having one. You can have multiple. Kids love it. They've got the mini fruit pops. They've got the big fruit pops. It comes in so many different fruits. I find it a great tool to try out new fruits, because some fruits I will never try IRL. Yeah. But I will try them in an Outchine bar because I know Outchine is going to crush. So every bite tastes like biting into a piece of ripe, juicy fruit. It's refreshing and bursting with flavor.
17:09Jackie Oshry:It'll become a bright, vibrant experience that brings a moment of joy to life. So they make it super easy to experience the joy of fruit. We love fruit, but sometimes it's just too much work, especially if you like coconut, you know? And even just regular fruit, like peeling and slicing and dishes, and it's just like a whole thing. 22:15Claudia Oshry:Turt Will Roll Turt will roll. Our first story, Alex Earl's on the cover of Time 100 Creators, ready to share. So she did a wide-ranging sort of sit-down interview with Time magazine, but of course everyone's obsessed with the bit and Bob about Alex Cooper.
22:33Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and I thought it was interesting more so because I was reading the comment section. It was the first time I ever saw people talking about this, not just like blindly team Alex Earl. And that's why I brought it up before because you were talking about sometimes you wait so long that people really start to lose interest or they turn on you. And I felt like that was really happening because you can tell everyone what the question was and what she said, and then I'll tell you what the comments were.
22:55Claudia Oshry:Yes. So she was asked if she will speak on the drama with Alex Cooper on her new show. And she said yes, and this is what she had to say exactly. She said, that was one of the things in the beginning they wanted me to talk about, and I really wasn't comfortable sharing. Then everything unfolded the way it did while we were filming. There was a serious struggle behind the scenes of emotions and my family showed up for me. Those moments that sometimes seem so fun for people online but are hard behind the scenes. I'm happy that we were able to capture that. So kind of a word salad. All's to say like it will be on the show.
23:31Claudia Oshry:I'm not saying anything right now but I'm not going to act like I'm not speaking about it right this minute. So I'm just going to say a bunch of stuff and the bottom line is it's on the show.
23:39Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And when I open the comment section. I mean I feel this way. It's like, I love Alex Earl, but the time, like when we were talking about it, I was lit up. I'm like, yeah, you go, you go. And we kind of got nothing from her, but everybody was like, she's so strategic. She's so great. And now it's like, enough time has passed. And really, we keep, we've reported so much on Alex Cooper in the last few weeks. Not only like her personal life being pregnant, she has Kenzie on Call Her Daddy, and she has two shows going to Netflix and Marry Harry. And it's like, really, it didn't affect her that much.
24:05Jackie Oshry:But at the time, like the wind was not behind her. Like people were really with Alex Earl. So the comments were just like, girl, we don't care anymore. Like girl, you waited too long. And it's like, yeah. Yeah, unless you have like the bombshell of all bombshells to drop on the TV show, which based on how Alex Cooper talks about it, like I have a hard time imagining. Believing that. I think it's a lot of - Unless Alex Earl knows something that Alex Cooper doesn't know.
24:24Claudia Oshry:Maybe, or it's just a lot of like, you know, innuendo and hurt feelings. Personal feelings. And things I took this way that weren't, you know, like just things like that. But that's not really going to land. I agree, like at the time she had the opportunity to take the kill shot. You know, Alex Cooper's like wounded, walking around. She's down on the ground. Everyone's talking about Sophia. They're bringing up old things, old clips, baby Alessi. But she's still breathing. Yeah, and you could have. Alex Earle has the kill shot, and she's waited. But now Alex Cooper is healed. She's still pregnant.
24:56Claudia Oshry:And she's running away. She's pregnant. You can't get her.
24:59Jackie Oshry:It's hard for at least me. I would never really turn on a pregnant woman.
25:03Claudia Oshry:Who? As just a pitchfork-carrying internet user? Yeah, I'm not a big pitchfork person in general, but I give grace. Well, maybe by the time the show comes out, she will have given birth.
25:14Jackie Oshry:I mean, it's taking so long. Yeah. So, like, I don't know. I just, at this point, I almost think she'd be better off not talking about it.
25:25Claudia Oshry:I don't really think that's an option.
25:27Jackie Oshry:No, no. And depending on what, maybe she has, like, something huge. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. She's kind of better.
25:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And maybe, like, the way that they'll package it for the show, like, will make it really, like titillating more so than if she had sat down and like said it to camera yeah but if they like go really in depth and you know the dad's there and he's like then you talked about i need it i
25:48Jackie Oshry:need the dad there and she asked you about anal i'm excited about the reality show for a bunch of reasons alex has also been posting like so much family content recently to get people excited and she does have like this insanely interesting family dynamic um and i'm most excited one of the things I'm most excited for it's like I need to meet this dad Mr. Earl he obviously has this insane backstory um but he's like a super successful businessman who I think like really he didn't like leave his company I think he has a very successful company but he now full-time like manages his daughters yeah and this is somebody who really doesn't know a lot about the industry but it's like a business savvy person so and I think he's like scary and mean so I would just like kind of love to meet him yeah on the show like that's what I'm excited for he's doing a good job because like whoever managed her up until a certain point to the point that took her to
26:33Claudia Oshry:unwell to do a podcast to just like park her there did a bad job agreed and then and then left her in a place to be thrown out the door by unwell right and like that was a rough spot for her yeah like i mean we all know she wasn't canceled by unwell but they did make it seem that way they released that press what's next after you have like a podcast that sort of fails
26:54Jackie Oshry:yeah and you can see like a marked shift in her career when her dad gets involved where she starts acting I think a little more mature to like less college aged content of just like messy room drunk hungover more business focused a little bit more cohesive and streamlined and I think that totally lines up with when her dad got involved. And also Dancing with the Stars I think was huge huge for her. Totally. Huge. What is she going to do next? I mean first of all she looks so sick on the cover of this magazine. Everybody does photo shoots like I feel like these days doing a photo shoot is like you can do it in your house and it looked professional.
27:26Jackie Oshry:This was really a plus. I'm not really moved by magazine covers a lot. They're so uninspired these days. Everybody's doing the same thing, like in the rain. Yeah.
27:35Claudia Oshry:She looks insane. But also, as far as what is she going to do next, I feel like she's doing it. I don't feel like there has to be a next, next, next thing. No, I mean, is she going to do another show? Oh, I guess Earl Meets World. Earl Meets World. Real is like, in the article, they talk about it, like the VC firm that she worked with. It was like the biggest day of sales that they've ever done in their 10 years of backing beauty brands. Wow. Like, it is a bona fide success. I'm wearing a face full of Rael today. Okay. I used the Mandalorian serum and the cream last night. Yeah. I love that serum.
28:05Claudia Oshry:Mandelic acid. Mandelic. I was like, what's the real one? I officially use all four products. Yeah. No, people love it, especially people with acne. I use the face wash in the shower.
28:11Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
28:12Claudia Oshry:And then you know how I feel about the balm. Of course, the balm. It's really great stuff.
28:17Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And they have, like, a really, like, well-run company, like, customer service and the social media and the PR boxes. Like, it's a bona fide. It's a real company. So, like, what is she doing next? Like, why can't she do this? Yeah, no, she's crushing. But, like, because she's always doing stuff.
28:31Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
28:31Jackie Oshry:She's, like, always starting stuff.
28:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I guess. But I feel like this is a good place to land, you know, and going to parties and taking pictures.
28:38Jackie Oshry:Love, socialite, energy. Yeah, that's important, too. So important to go to parties.
28:42Claudia Oshry:And take pictures. Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? Yeah. Hailey Bieber is launching a 90s-inspired denim collection with Gap. I saw. So the Haley jean capsule consists of two pairs of jeans developed between Haley and Gap. They drop on July 16th at 9 a.m. Priced at$89. The collection consists of the extra baggy jean and the low-rise loose jean.
29:04Jackie Oshry:Like, I would follow Haley Bieber off a cliff. Like, I'm so influenced by her. This is just not something I can personally get behind. Like, I hate wearing jeans, you know? Especially these, like, big baggy jeans.
29:15Claudia Oshry:I can't see the second pair. Like, I see the first pair. I like them. I'm just not a jean person. like I am going to sit this one out you're a cute jean I'm not a jeans person but why can't you get these jeans like these feel like the jeans oh my god are you serious
29:30Jackie Oshry:like why would I get those jeans what do you mean
29:32Claudia Oshry:you don't have to wear it with a crop top
29:34Jackie Oshry:no no no like I would never wear those pants that's not a knock on the pants it's just like a personal preference
29:38Claudia Oshry:they're very cool
29:40Jackie Oshry:so while I'm always like like commenting subscribing purchasing for Miss Haley unfortunately this is a me thing I am sitting this one out
29:47Claudia Oshry:I think it's okay I'm sure they will sell out like immediately I hope that they paid her like millions of dollars. They definitely did. Like a multi.
29:55Jackie Oshry:She's a billionaire now. She doesn't need to get out of bed for shit.
29:57Claudia Oshry:Like minimum eight figures.
29:59Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Six. I was going to say 10 million.
30:02Claudia Oshry:Minimum.
30:02Jackie Oshry:And then maybe like a bonus based on sales. Minimum 10. Yeah.
30:06Claudia Oshry:To lend your name to the Gap. And Gap is huge. Yeah. Gap is huge. But like they. She's huge. Their collabs are huge for them.
30:13Jackie Oshry:Yeah. What are their Gap collabs? They just did Victoria Beckham. Oh, did they?
30:16Claudia Oshry:Mm-hmm.
30:16Jackie Oshry:and Zach Posen is still like the Gap guy. I guess. Yeah, he's like the creative director for Gap.
30:24Claudia Oshry:If you say so. These chairs are so big I lost my lipstick in it.
30:27Jackie Oshry:I love that. I love a chair I could lose myself in. I know, and like my phone is like on its way. I love this for Hailey. Like, it just feels good, you know?
30:38Claudia Oshry:Yeah. To have been right. About her?
30:41Jackie Oshry:Yeah, and like on the right side of history.
30:43Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
30:44Jackie Oshry:Just feels good. Doesn't always happen to me. yeah what i don't want to go there what i don't want to go there what because it's to be seen it's you know it's still juries out on what like oh i feel really good about where i'm at with like lively yeah i have no qualms like i'm at peace my heart rate is resting yeah i feel really good
31:14Claudia Oshry:I don't actually I don't disagree with you but I just I can't see it you know I can't see the forest through the trees. Neither could Shakespeare.
31:25Jackie Oshry:Okay I'll be like not appreciated in this time.
31:28Claudia Oshry:Okay I'll be like Shakespeare.
31:29Jackie Oshry:I'm trying to think of somebody who was like wronged and like all these years later. Has been vindicated. Are you gonna see The Odyssey? Speaking of because I was thinking of Anne Hathaway.
31:36Claudia Oshry:Like I want it to be good but I just think it's not gonna be good. I like desperately want to care
31:43Jackie Oshry:like I'm seeing Anna Hathaway and Zendaya like I'm seeing all the looks but like the movie is like it's like old timey like yeah very yeah I don't think I'm gonna it's like not my genre Travis Scott's in the movie
31:55Claudia Oshry:oh really yeah and I just feel like it's gonna be problematic I just like and I only want to like engage in stuff that I'm gonna love yeah I loved Barbenheimer. I never.
32:11Jackie Oshry:But that was like a period of time that I am interested in and like I didn't know about it. So I would love to learn more about the Adam Bomb. I'm happier to know
32:17Claudia Oshry:like the Odyssey is one of like the greatest works of books of all time. Yes. Iliad's brother. Yes. And so there's like there must be a reason. You know the story must be like amazing. And the story is just like a long journey. An Odyssey. But also Greek gods. Greek gods. Yeah. I'm not into all that like magical realism.
32:39Jackie Oshry:I know. I just, like, I really want to care.
32:41Claudia Oshry:Like, I want to get excited.
32:42Jackie Oshry:Everyone's talking about Agnes Bernal. Yeah.
32:44Claudia Oshry:I feel like everyone's not really talking about the movie. They're talking about the looks, yeah. Has the movie come out? I'm not sure. Because maybe that's why they're not talking about the movie. They're doing a lot of premieres. Do you also see that, like, Moana live action is, like, going to tank?
32:57Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Spent$250 million and only made$43 on its opening weekend. It's said to lose$100 million. Well, let me just say this. I personally didn't know that was happening. So, like, where was the marketing?
33:06Claudia Oshry:No, we've known. like they've been teasing it for a very long time. I feel bad saying anything. I had no idea. I feel bad saying anything because they invited me to the premiere. Oh. So like the one premiere I got invited to. The one premiere I got invited to. Like it stinks. Much like Cynthia Erivo.
33:18Jackie Oshry:I had no idea that was happening. Maybe that's why they invited me. I did see that like a lot of people were sort of mad at The Rock because the girl who voices the original Moana who was like a darling of Disney was offered the part but she was like I do think it's a young girl's role. She did the original Moana like seven years ago. She said I think it's a young girl role. I would also love to have like another AAPI woman. So like she was, and like the people say that like the rock also should have like stepped back because like he was like just this old man running around without a shirt. But I don't know who else, if not what?
33:49Jackie Oshry:Sincere. Sincere. Sincere. Because he has Maui's hair. Yeah. He looks like Maui. He does look like Maui.
34:00Claudia Oshry:I actually think that it was, it's great that the rock did Maui. I love him. Maui. Like he is Maui actually.
34:08Jackie Oshry:And he's such a draw. So it's actually crazy because I don't know if in the last two decades, The Rock has been in a movie that flopped financially. Like he is just a movie star. Kids love him. Olivia saw it.
34:20Claudia Oshry:Should we call her and ask her how it was? I don't really care. Like I love Olivia. I would love to chat with her.
34:25Jackie Oshry:I think we should get a review quickly. A quick review. She's just going to have like a weird take. She's going to be like, it was good. But like the special effects were not believable.
34:34Claudia Oshry:complain about something like yeah
34:39Jackie Oshry:I love like calling someone with a microphone in it
34:41Claudia Oshry:I love calling people live on the iPhone friend really it makes me kind of nervous I'm like don't say anything
34:47Jackie Oshry:I'm like yeah
34:50Claudia Oshry:she's screening me she's screening her sister
35:00okay
35:01Jackie Oshry:well I guess we'll never know
35:02Claudia Oshry:We'll never know if she liked it.
35:03Jackie Oshry:What Altivia, Asher.
35:06Claudia Oshry:Okay. Are you ready for our next story? Yeah. Summerhouses, Wes, Wilson, and Amanda Batula poke fun at pregnancy rumors while shopping for pickles and ice cream. So over the last few days, like people have like started speculating, but like based on nothing.
35:19Jackie Oshry:Because she wore two maxi dresses. Like that's what it was.
35:22Claudia Oshry:And then they like zoomed in on her belly. That was like completely flat. Yeah. And said that like they think that she's pregnant, which is really the worst call of all time. And Wes and Amanda are like joking about it. he posted a tiktok of them grocery shopping and she's picking out pickles and ice cream yeah um
35:34Jackie Oshry:like it's kind of funny i i know we're supposed to hate them and i obviously do but i am deeply intrigued by them and we're not going to be getting any more of them so things like this like i kind of like it i agree i agree like i'm glad that they can have a laugh like summer house is
35:52Claudia Oshry:air is record filming right now they're not there i didn't know that they were making content are
35:56Jackie Oshry:Are they making content? No. This is like one of their first public posts. Good. It's a good way to sort of ease back into it because they're not making a big deal about their first public. Sweetie, you made a little joke. Yeah. Oh, honey. You made a little joke. I don't hate this. I don't. Is it a confirmation that she's not pregnant? For sure. Or am I looking too much into it?
36:14Claudia Oshry:Okay. For sure. Because they would have just ignored it. I don't think she's pregnant just because she wore like a maxi dress in the summer.
36:21Jackie Oshry:The reasons why people believe it are not compelling to me. But if I were to look back on this whole saga and think, has she been pregnant for any part of it? It could just explain some of the erratic behavior. What do you mean? She basically threw her whole life away. Her career, her marriage, her friendships. If they didn't have sex until after the statement. Well, that's assuming we believe everything they said. Okay, but I am because I just can't. Then anything's possible. I don't know. That whiteboard video, I feel like did so much damage, at least for me, to what I thought of West. Like he was just like sort of brushing it off about casually, how casually he lied to so many people and it continued to lie even at the reunion.
37:00Jackie Oshry:Like, so it's like, it's even Demi Lovato. Like, this is my truth. No, this is my truth.
37:04Claudia Oshry:No, I know. And I shouldn't believe them, but for some reason I'm just, I am because otherwise like, okay, they had sex in January. Like we could just make anything up. And so she threw her life away before she had the opportunity to get pregnant by him.
37:17Jackie Oshry:Yeah. But like, what if she was pregnant? So like, obviously like she's like excited. And so she's like, nothing else matters except the baby. Like I could see why people thought it. Because it was such uncharacteristic behavior. And like life altering. And what's more life altering than a baby?
37:31Claudia Oshry:Yeah. No, because I know they would have said it.
37:36Jackie Oshry:Maybe it was too early.
37:36Claudia Oshry:And by now it's three plus.
37:39Jackie Oshry:I don't think that she is. But I wouldn't be mad at like a twist in this story. Yeah. I do. Like I do have this sort of craving for them. You know? Yeah. They're so crazy. They're so crazy. always going out and they're just like always traveling and they're just like seemingly in love but then she's having these conversations where she has these like moments of clarity like they're so crazy i want to know more about them and they're in a relationship like i find it
38:04Claudia Oshry:interesting i think it's a big miss to not have them on the show i agree i know that's not popular but like it's a show about crazy people and i i think they've sort of like met their matches with each other. It's a show about crazy people and they did their job. Correct. Our next story. Oh, some more exciting World Cup entertainment news. The World Cup closing ceremony will feature Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Scherzinger, and more.
38:31Jackie Oshry:Okay, I'm learning so much. I didn't know that they had a halftime show. I didn't know they had a ceremony.
38:35Claudia Oshry:They had a halftime show. We announced the performers. It didn't happen. It's going to be for the final game. But then also, they are doing a closing ceremony. and it features notable global stars, including Jennifer Hudson.
38:49Jackie Oshry:Nicole Scherzinger is an interesting choice because within America and American pop culture, she's not so popular. She's kind of, there's a lot of jokes about her stealing the microphones and stuff, but globally she actually is quite well known. She did a Lewis Hamilton for a while, which I feel like really upped her global image. And she seems like a random choice, but when you have to think about it within the context of the World Cup, I do think a lot of non-Americans know her.
39:13Claudia Oshry:yeah Jennifer Hudson is singing the Star Spangled Banner slay that's gonna be so good in a pre-kickoff ceremony FIFA celebrated it says that they will be celebrating 48 teams the performances will include Nicole Scherzinger Laura Pausini Robbie Williams as well as streamer iShowSpeed Robbie Williams is Canadian but again it's not American
39:33Jackie Oshry:it's like North America or whatever
39:35Claudia Oshry:and Nicole Scherzinger is Canadian is she? I think
39:39Jackie Oshry:well and Tom Cruise will make an appearance Oh my God, I was just going to say, it's kind of like at the Olympics when they chose Tom Cruise to represent America. To us, we're like, wait, we hate him and he's weird. But non-Americans know him and love him. So that's how I feel about Nicole Scherzinger. She feels weird and random, but I do think she's quite well known.
39:56Claudia Oshry:Not on the same level as Tom Cruise. And not as well known as anyone else they could have chosen. Is she going to sing?
40:01Jackie Oshry:Does she have any songs?
40:03Claudia Oshry:She might be doing a cover of something. She has an amazing voice. Amazing voice. So I think it's, I think it could be good. I think it could be good. Yeah. Maybe I'll watch this. I love entertainment. I want to see Jennifer Hudson sing the national anthem.
40:16Jackie Oshry:So is it like after the game directly or is it later in the week? It's before the game. The closing ceremony is before the game.
40:25Claudia Oshry:That's what some of it is. Okay.
40:27Jackie Oshry:I don't know. Obviously not going to tell them how to do their jobs, but that makes no sense. Yeah.
40:34Claudia Oshry:The game, the face-off will take place in Miami. Oh, how exciting. Mm-hmm. You know what? But then the final. Oh, face off for the bronze medal. Oh, I guess the two teams that. Okay, so then they play bronze. That happens in Miami. And then the final final is at MetLife.
40:52Jackie Oshry:Oh, what a thrill. Okay. Trying. I know. Well, like, it's all very exciting, you know? You know what I mean? I love to be a part of stuff. And, like, this is happening right before my eyes. I just can't get on board. Mm-hmm.
41:06Claudia Oshry:I should have placed a bet.
41:08Jackie Oshry:Totally. Because then I would. Because your prediction was.
41:10Claudia Oshry:Because it's coming true, and then I would care more.
41:13Jackie Oshry:I didn't realize that I would be coming at the World Cup and rooting for certain teams as an American. But no, I'm coming at it based on my feelings for David Beckham. Yeah. And I know he's not a player, and he has been for a while. But he is sort of the focal point, at least for me, of the World Cup. Yeah. Like him sitting in those games looking so stinking handsome.
41:32Claudia Oshry:He's the biggest soccer star for you by far.
41:37Jackie Oshry:I'm going to talk as a culture enough about Bend It Like Beckham. no first of all why didn't he have a cameo in the movie although i don't think they knew at the time it was probably just like a random movie i don't think at the end in the airport doesn't she see him is he in it i feel like at the airport she sees him is david beckham in bend it like beckham as girls who grew up playing soccer like that movie was so important to us yes he was in the end him and his wife victoria make a non-speaking cameo in the final airport scene however because of scheduling conflicts at the time, the real David, oh, was portrayed by a lookalike.
42:14Jackie Oshry:Andy Harmer, though he does appear in archive footage in the movie.
42:18Claudia Oshry:Is it the real Victoria? I think so. So it's Victoria and Andy?
42:23Jackie Oshry:Bend it like Beckham. I just fucking loved this movie.
42:27Claudia Oshry:Jasminda.
42:27Jackie Oshry:What happened to the girl? Jasminda. What happened to her? She was such a good actress. Of course, Keira Knightley, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers. Oh, so good. So good. Okay, ready? It had a budget of five million dollars and it made 92 million in the box office like that's what happens when you make good movies yeah more of that oh i could talk about this movie endlessly i loved it so much same her family was so cute they were so strict and they like didn't understand her like towards the end the dad was like go go i just i love that movie and kira knightley like when the parents thought that they were lesbians like oh it was so good so good are you ready for
43:02Claudia Oshry:the final story oh my god no i'm not ready oh my god i like kind of it's actually a big story i
43:06Jackie Oshry:I kind of like was out to lunch. Wait and like not stop me. Well, that's why. You didn't say once. Are you ready for the third story? Are you ready for the fourth story? You weren't giving me numbers.
43:14Claudia Oshry:I kept saying next. And then, yeah, no, but the story started coming and they didn't stop coming. It's kind of the theme.

48:33Claudia Oshry:It's a vacation. Our fifth and final story is kind of a big one. Taco Bell has been probed in the explosive diarrhea outbreak. So something that's been sweeping the nation that we have yet to discuss, I think, because we're scared.
48:47Jackie Oshry:Oh, I'm not scared. I've yet to discuss it because it doesn't involve me. Yet. I don't eat lettuce. Yet.
48:55Claudia Oshry:Is it lettuce? They don't even know what exactly it is. They said it's lettuce.
48:58Jackie Oshry:They said it's lettuce.
48:59Claudia Oshry:But I'm so safe. Wow. You're really like looking to do it. Oh, really? Yeah. I just bought lettuce yesterday. Like, are we not supposed to have lettuce?
49:10Jackie Oshry:I think what I heard like a professional say is that you're supposed to boil all your vegetables. Boiled lettuce? Yeah, like boil everything to kill the parasite.
49:19Claudia Oshry:So there's a parasite going around that has hit 30 states. More than 2 ,600 cases have hit Michigan alone. Nationwide, more than 80 people are hospitalized by like severe diarrhea.
49:29Jackie Oshry:Yeah, they say that the side effects are severe, diarrhea, and extreme weight loss.
49:32Claudia Oshry:So I definitely am not suffering from it. Yeah, no, unfortunately. So the leading cause they're saying is like lettuce, and they think it's tied to Taco Bell. It's so funny. Wait, so how was Taco Bell involved? I don't know. but it seems to maybe be a common denominator they're investigating Taco Bell as a potential source of the outbreak I first saw a tweet like a couple days ago but how can it be the source of the outbreak when it's in other people's lettuce because maybe like the lettuce manufacturer like maybe the place where they're sourcing their lettuce oh so if you didn't eat Taco Bell you're safe I don't know nobody knows
50:09Jackie Oshry:the thing is people are so upset with Taco Bell that like they'll see this and still go eat it
50:13Claudia Oshry:I saw the funniest tweet a few days ago that was like, there's a national, there's a national like diarrhea outbreak. And then it was like, Taco Bell is under investigation. I just thought it was a joke. Like, you know. Oh, that's funny. Like a meme. Like, I thought it was a meme. Like jokes and text memes. Diarrhea, you must have gotten it from Taco Bell.
50:34Jackie Oshry:You know, the story sort of writes itself.
50:36Claudia Oshry:So like, it took me a lot of times of hearing about Taco Bell to be like, wow, did they do this? It just feels like the world has diarrhea and people are blaming Taco Bell.
50:44Jackie Oshry:Well, it's kind of the truth. Is it? Well, I don't know. I don't really eat Taco Bell.
50:49Claudia Oshry:Did all 2 ,600 of these people in Michigan have Taco Bell? I don't know.
50:53Jackie Oshry:It kind of feels like the botulism outbreak where we're all just sort of like tracing back to a formula. What's the common denominator?
50:59Claudia Oshry:Well, I bought lettuce yesterday and I think I'm going to eat it.
51:03Jackie Oshry:What's the wish that can happen?
51:04Claudia Oshry:You lose a couple pounds? It's true. With 80 people in the hospital, I cannot go to the hospital. Ugh, I know. It's like a long drive. No, it's just like, ugh, such a time suck. No, no, who's going to do the toast? The toast. And the bills.
51:16Jackie Oshry:Insane bills. Bills, bills, bills.
51:17Claudia Oshry:I'll be getting those bills in my mailbox for years to come.
51:20Jackie Oshry:I hope everyone's okay. There's also like an outbreak in New York City of like legionnaires. Legionnaires. Laneige.
51:27Claudia Oshry:Legionnaires. It's the Laneige lip mask. Which is like a disease
51:31Jackie Oshry:that's in a couple of the cooling towers. My building emailed us to assure us that their cooling tower has been tested and we're fine. It's not in my zip code. um but like you walk to other zip codes so true like i play mahjong in another zip code right
51:44Claudia Oshry:actually no it's in my own zip code yeah so just stay safe out there so many diseases so so little time yeah especially when you don't know the source like that's a little scary you know when they're still trying to figure it out yeah well so far lettuce and taco bell i'm personally in the clear because i don't need you do put lettuce in a sandwich so infrequently and like such a
52:04Jackie Oshry:small piece in very particular about like what size what part of the lettuce i put and you do eat like chicken caesar wraps i do i do i haven't had one in a while but i do you're not totally i'm not exempt but i think i have a much less chance than somebody who's like frequently chowing down
52:20Claudia Oshry:and then it's also like what if it's not the lettuce right it seems like they know nothing
52:25Jackie Oshry:they're saying new things every day first it's the lettuce then it's taco bell like what the
52:28Claudia Oshry:fuck are you guys talking about yeah yeah apparently taco bell recently removed several fresh ingredients from some locations while health officials investigate the surge in cyclospora. I guess that's the name of this.
52:40Jackie Oshry:That's it. Cyclospora.
52:42Claudia Oshry:And according to the Washington Post, a person familiar with the national investigation said the decision was certainly appropriate.
52:47Jackie Oshry:Oh, there's something they're not telling us.
52:49Claudia Oshry:It also sounds like there's a little bit of a cover up. Like this is shrouded in mystery when perhaps it's not mysterious at all.
52:55Jackie Oshry:Can't wait for the documentary.
52:56Claudia Oshry:The outbreak has turned Taco Bell diarrhea jokes into an eruptive reality. It's true.
53:02Jackie Oshry:Well, I now have to go to the bathroom. So that was a great way to end the show. Thanks so much. Hope I don't have legionnaires or cyclos.
53:08Claudia Oshry:We might need to live menos for the time being. That's funny. That is funny. That's TMZ. That's not me.
53:14Jackie Oshry:Thank you guys so much for listening to the show. On Monday morning show, we're doing the fast-paced stories.
53:24Claudia Oshry:We'll see you tomorrow. Love ya. Bye.
53:34Claudia Oshry:That's the sound of zero sugar, 200 milligrams of caffeine, and the power to burn body fat. Storm, energy for life.
53:42Jackie Oshry:Storm Energy Blend helps boost metabolism, which in combination with exercise and a healthy diet helps burn fat. This product alone does not produce weight loss. Individual results may vary.
