We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. welcome back to the toes and happy wednesday apologies for a late episode we were busy
0:29Clare O'Connor:engaging in a sacred covenant a sacred covenant we were celebrating the brit milah of our nephew
0:36Jackie O:the bris olivia's son had his bris today always an emotional day yes it was a beautiful morning
0:41Clare O'Connor:so we're recording a little bit later yes but if you've been here since 2018 like it's actually
0:47Jackie O:you know the normal time yeah and it's a big day you know you find out the baby's name i love what Olivia did. Tariq is such a beautiful name. And now we can have him on namesake. Yes. Thank God. Oh yeah. We asked Olivia just to name her baby Tariq so that we could have Tariq El Moussa on namesake. Yes. It was either that or Mindy.
1:06Clare O'Connor:The naming of Olivia's child is very exciting because you know, a new life, a new world, a new nephew. And that's so exciting. But the potential that it opens up for namesake cannot be understated. Every action has an equal reaction.
1:20Jackie O:Yes. You naming your baby but it's also the future of namesake is at stake yes so who do we want to interview on the podcast we'll have to influence all of our siblings to start naming their children after major celebrities like tarik elmus i need someone to name their next son sincere okay lovey's baby's not named tarik by the way she will be doing we're not going to steal her she's probably going to post the name today but we're not going to like share that's her name to share jackie brilliantly segue today's episode is giving tv recap last night was part two of the Summer House Reunion, the season premiere of Love Island USA.
1:49Jackie O:We watched it all. We're recapping it all. It's going to be in the stories. If you did watch, great. If you didn't, the timestamps will be in the episode. And if you didn't, like it's been just one episode.
1:57Clare O'Connor:You can still listen to our hysterical recap of it. Because I'm really curious like what you're going to say. I watched as much as I humanly could last night. I mean, an hour and 45 minutes after we also had to watch a Summer House Reunion is insane work. Yeah. So I was watching TV till like 1020, I think. And then I called it a night. So I think I watched like an hour 15. I saw all the couples couple up. I saw a couple conversations of who I could see having a spark betwixt them. And we'll discuss.
2:22Jackie O:Yeah. And this is just a little tip if you're going to be engaging in Love Island that I found out last season that changed my life. The episodes are 9 o 'clock on Peacock. They actually put them up at about 8.36. So I was able to watch the whole episode and go to Ben at about 10.20. What about Summer House for the lay people? I didn't bring that up. Yes, I have access to Summer House screeners. I was able to watch the summer house reunion from seven to eight and then eight 30. Like I, I slayed. I wasn't like going to rub that in people's faces. Yes. I, yes I did. Um, having said that on days that it's not, you still can go to bed earlier because the episodes actually come out 20 minutes before they say they do.
2:59Clare O'Connor:Thank you so much. It's a huge tip. I mean, every minute counts. Like my day is scheduled to the minute within a minute of each other. Like if I can get back 20 minutes in my day, I could like seriously take over the world.
3:13Jackie O:And I just gave you 20 minutes. And I'm going to take over the world. Slay. Taking over the world. Yes, my husband did miss my sister's bris because he's in San Antonio. He did get permission. He, like, asked everyone. I did think it was okay. Like, I stand by that decision. I thought it was okay. Ben got, like, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Shout out to, like, a true mensch at Sadek, Tyler Cameron, who got the opportunity of a lifetime and included Ben in it. He got asked to go to the next game with, like, a brand. I think it's Michelob Ultra. They're taking a private jet from New York with Knicks legends and media and influencers.
3:46Jackie O:And Tyler was invited and he included Ben. They flew to New York this morning. I don't believe they've gotten on the plane yet. Did Tyler and Ben fly to New York together? Yes. They're like a couple of best friends. No, and I heard Ben. You're going to love this. I heard Ben talk to texting last night because Tyler's like not a Knicks fan. He's from Florida. Yeah. I heard Ben like talk to texting last night being like, do you need me to bring you a hat? And then when he was packing, he packed two hats. It was really cute. No, that's really cute. They're on the tarmac at the private airport, like loading up.
4:12Jackie O:Ben sent me a picture of him and Walt Clyde Frazier, like huge. I'm really happy for Ben. Like this is major. And what's the size of the plane? I don't know. And like Ben's giving me nothing. I'm sure like he can't really talk because he's like actively in it. So hopefully he can like go to the bathroom later and give me the rundown. Like who else is on it? Like is Ben Stiller, Kylie and Timothy? Like who's there? Yeah. Who's there?
4:32Clare O'Connor:Not Kylie and Timothy. They're on Kylie Air. And she's in Turks and Caicos, which is a story for her own, for her friend's vacation.
4:39Jackie O:yeah one thing I love about that and we'll talk about it is like all these other even Hayley Bieber Selena Gomez these huge beauty um moguls even they have to like slum it and do the brand trips and hang out with the influencers and make tiktoks Kylie's like I am not doing that like I'll do my own version of it but I am she is not making like a Mikaela Nogueira tiktok like she's just not doing it she used to like she used to do the YouTube videos yeah YouTube James Charles and I just feel like that was probably curative of her ever wanting to do it again yeah and I think you
5:06Clare O'Connor:You know, you want to try and differentiate yourself. Not everyone's going to be tarting around the world. Not everyone can be tart or should be tart. So, like, here, we're going to do, like, a friends and family trip, and people are going to talk about it because it's different. Yeah.
5:18Jackie O:So we'll talk about it. It's one of the stories along with Love Island. Lots to discuss. Summer House reunion as well. So anything else we want to PFFB about before we D-I-V-E in about?
5:28Clare O'Connor:No, I would say no. It's so weird, like, doing the toast at a different time. Like, usually my day is very routine. Me too. You know, the amount of beverages I consume before the toast is pretty much the same every day. The amount that I eat before the toast is the same every day. I had a piece of cake already today. That's insane. Like usually I've had like my electrolytes, a couple bites of a macro bar, a coffee, and then I'm working on my water here. This morning I had my electrolytes. I've had three different kinds of coffee. A hundred bagels. None that I liked. Yeah. I had a bagel. I had a black and white cookie.
5:57Clare O'Connor:Yeah, it's very. Oh, Margo got me an iced vanilla latte that wasn't sugar-free vanilla. So I'm like hopped up on sugar and I'm having a crash a little bit.
6:05Jackie O:It's very jarring when the first thing you do of the day is not the toast. Like that's been my life for 10 years.
6:12Clare O'Connor:But to do the toast with like different things inside of me that I'm not usually. You're taking it from like the stomach POV. I'm talking about it from like the brain POV.
6:19Jackie O:Oh, that too. But I'm saying like I've never experienced like a sugar crash before the toast. I wonder if today's episode will be worse or better given the fact that it's not the first thing we did today.
6:29Clare O'Connor:I think it's going to be. amazing but it might be a little different different due to sometimes we need to shake it up the vanilla latte and the black and white cookie and the bagel and I had cake as well you did have cake I didn't try the cake but it was beautiful it was beautiful the place looks great
6:46Jackie O:it always does thank you so yeah pretty much like dying to talk about all the tv I watched last night
6:52Clare O'Connor:and can't do that um oh and then the other thing that I did yesterday was record the right heads in this studio with Miss Margo, Dana, and Rebecca on Zoom, but we have like a huge monitor here. So like it was so premium. Was it better? It was amazing. And I was also saying like goals for the Redheads, you know, it used to be like Redheads Production Company. Like I've probably moved on from that. Get a private jet, Redheads Air, to fly the girls in every month. Every month. Record right here so we can be together. Fly them back.
7:20Jackie O:I mean, there are technically four seats at this table that we're sitting at, four microphones.
7:22Clare O'Connor:No, it would be amazing for the Redheads. And I'm so glad that like we had such a Parchi setup for this book because the opinions were flying. We barely got to the questions. Good. It's better when like people have really extreme, both positive and negative takes on a book because it makes for much better. And like everybody's talking about this book. So if you read the book, you have to listen to the redheads. If you're just like curious about the book, but don't actually want to read it, you have to listen to the redheads. Like seriously, nobody's doing what we're doing. Agreed. Nobody could.
7:47Clare O'Connor:Nobody tried. Nobody would. Nobody would dare. Nobody would dare read 72 books like for fun. I wouldn't. Or the love of books. I wouldn't. so that's coming out tomorrow let's dive in like i just wow okay i want to do it you know oh wow okay oh yeah i got like a little charm it's not little yeah i have like a little charm
8:04Jackie O:it's very big asmr with my charm like this is so like i'm so jenzy for sure but it's big
8:10Clare O'Connor:by the way yesterday i heard the name garrett geckland like 12 more times after i had lunch you're confusing him with our other boyfriend garrett headlund what's this guy's name garrett Graham that's his character well unfortunately Margo is staying at my house so I heard him come up so many more times and it's too much it's actually not and like I'm sorry that you're
8:35Jackie O:and like the show is not for you I actually would not recommend that I shouldn't like now I'm sorry it is starting to permeate a little bit more you won't like it like it's just not for you and I think it's okay for things like not to be for you um so don't but like just acknowledge that like it's the biggest thing in the world right now and like everyone's talking about it and just like
8:51Clare O'Connor:it's like it's good clean fun well not clean i'm just like so tired of like all of this disposable nonsense you know like garrett built a business on disposable no no i'm not talking about the things that are we've been recapping housewives for a decade we've been talking about these shows for many years we're not doing disposable now it's like it's the streaming and it's a culture where it's like the biggest thing ever was like to the kissing booth to all the boys before it's like yeah and i just want something real okay but like for me like the kissing booth is still the most important thing.
9:22Clare O'Connor:to all the boys I love. You are the embodiment. The minute to all the boys I love before came out. Sorry, I'm so young in Gen Z. All you said was
9:29Jackie O:Kissing Mouth could never. Kissing Mouth was terrible. Kissing Mouth was a piece of shit. Yeah. And I was only able to see that after I saw a movie as good as to all the boys I've loved before. You know what?
9:36Clare O'Connor:It's like fast fashion. It's fast content. It is. The summer I turn pretty. Everything has their two days. It blows up. This person's like everywhere. It's just, it feels a little artificial and I find it fatiguing.
9:47Jackie O:So I agree that like the way content gets rolled out I think it's also very expensive and exhausting for like streaming services because nothing has a lasting impact like and it's great what's happening with off campus but like it'll die down and when season two comes out it won't be as big as season one like whatever yes these things have except if you like tell me lies actually yeah tell me lies really there was meat there is a meat season it was just as buzzy as the one before more often than not the second and third seasons of these shows like you just do die down um so I agree like as a more of a statement on culture like it is crazy that content gets turned out so quickly They spend like$20 million on a TV show that people talk about for less than a week.
10:20Jackie O:And then it's on to the next, on to the next. More than$20 million. And that's more of like a statement on just like general culture and like people's attention spans and like binge culture. So don't take it out on Garrett Graham, okay? My boyfriend.
10:31Clare O'Connor:I'm just saying like he is really the straw for me.
10:33Jackie O:Don't hate the player. Hate the game. I am hating both. Well, they can never make me hate you, Garrett Graham. But again, don't watch it. Like I think it'll make this situation worse for you. If I know what they're actually. if I know because you just won't like it like it's not for you right but what if I watched it and I
Read the full transcript
10:49Clare O'Connor:liked it and like then I'm like okay I get like why everyone's talking about it but you're saying like that just won't happen I know you you're just too like you can't put me in a box you really can
10:57Jackie O:okay watch it I would I would absolutely love for you to watch it maybe I will okay now I have to
11:01Clare O'Connor:watch love island but maybe I would but it's like yeah it's like if anybody needs anything for me in the next month like six weeks six weeks they said last night I can't do anything I currently am working two full-time jobs and one of them is watching love island USA and being a full-time mother three jobs it's a lot you try being a tv recapper for a day try it um but it's like if i watched off campus and and it was like bad you know like say objectively i don't is is off campus objectively not me not you is it good or is it bad i can't answer that because my initial
11:32Jackie O:criticisms of the show objective well of course my initial criticisms of the show i do feel are still true like it is community theater it's like corny abc family but like if you could just not take it that seriously and just like relax a little bit like it's a fun show and it's like sweet and you do find yourself like grinning when he's just like a cute guy he's an athlete like
11:52Clare O'Connor:it's very i like abc family type content i like hallmark yeah yeah so maybe well i don't know i can't i don't know i don't know what you'd like try it i think i have to watch it to find out if
12:02Jackie O:but if you watch it i need you to commit to three episodes okay okay in six weeks yeah tt ISW. Talk to you in six weeks. Yeah. So let's get into the stories, the fast five stories that you do need to know. And the fast five stories that you do need to know are brought to you by Outshine, a refreshing frozen snack made with real simple ingredients like real fruit and fruit juice to help you snack brighter. Because Outshine believes when you snack good, you feel good. So Outshine offers a wide variety with fruit bars, mini fruit pops, and tons of crave-worthy flavors. So it's a refreshing snack that's under 100 calories with most of their bars just at around 60 calories.
12:39Jackie O:The mini fruit packs come in a variety of three fruit flavors and they're individually less than 40 calories each. So OutChain comes in a wide range of flavors to fit any moment like strawberry, mango, coconut, pineapple, watermelon, their new black cherry, and so many more. Plus their new fruit blends, two or more fruit flavors are swirled together into one bar to create worlds of yum. And you know, we are a little bit biased because we like the fruit blends a lot because we believe in the power of swirlitude. And so does OutChain because they're swirling delicious flavors together like cherry limeade, pina colada, tropical breeze, and blueberry lemonade.
13:10Jackie O:So inside of every Outshine fruit bar is real fruit or fruit juice and a good source of vitamin C. What's not inside is no GMO ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, plus they're fat-free and gluten-free. So they make it easy to experience the joy of fruit. We love them. They're a staple in our house during every grocery run, especially in the summer. It's like a great way to cool down. The kids love it. It's delicious. And you can find Outshine fruit bars and mini fruit pops in the freezer aisle at retailers nationwide. You know, travel picks up, the kids are out of school, adventure is your focus. But for others, juggling it can be really tough and can lead to overwhelm and counting down the minutes until your kids are back in school. Many worry that they're wasting the days of sunshine and they don't know exactly how to maximize the time while also taking care of yourself. And so BetterHelp is just a great way to get your mind at ease. They are therapy. It's done entirely online.
17:13Jackie O:They work according to a very strict code of conduct. They're fully licensed within the U.S. and they have over 30 ,000 therapists. It's the world's largest online therapy platform. They have served over 6 million people globally and it works with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 for a live session based on over 1.7 million client reviews. It helps you identify what your needs are, what your preferences are, and then BetterHelp's 12 plus years of experience and industry-leading match fulfillment rate means that they typically get it right the first time.
17:45Jackie O:However, if you aren't happy with your match, you can totally switch to a new therapist at any time from their tailored recommendations. And then once you find someone you love, you can communicate with them in any method that you feel comfortable, whether that's video chat, text, call. Some people just like, I think if you've never done therapy before, it can be a little overwhelming. So maybe starting with like a phone call feels like you can open up more. So you don't have to say yes to everything this summer, but find support in therapy, sign up and get 10 % off at betterhelp.com slash toast.
18:09Jackie O:That's betterhelp.com slash T-O-A-S-T.
18:13Clare O'Connor:Thank you, T-U-R-T.
18:14Jackie O:You're welcome. Better turt. I'm constantly striving to be a better turt. Do you find that you're constantly striving to be a better jerk?
18:21Clare O'Connor:Yeah. Always good to work on jerk, so. 100%. Our first story, Summer House Reunion Part 2, Bombshells. First, Sierra Miller FaceTimes Wes Wilson's ex, Miha, who shares new timeline details. Yeah, that was helpful.
18:35Jackie O:When I first saw Sierra calling her, I'm like, okay, this is kind of like low-hanging fruit. and like you don't need more people on your side. I just thought like it was kind of like lame but she did share like her and Wes having dated over the summer and she's like at the apartment while he's in the Hamptons for the weekend.
18:49Clare O'Connor:It's like, okay, that's crazy. Yeah, that is crazy. And when she said and Kyle said like, you had a girlfriend when you're dating Amanda, like I don't care. Yeah, I don't care about this unless the girlfriend was Lindsay Hubbard. Like I don't care. Is the girlfriend in the room with us? I don't just care about like a random person and someone always has the girlfriend. It's true.
19:03Jackie O:It's giving like The Bachelor when someone would be like, he broke up with me before, you know? It's like, okay, great.
19:08Clare O'Connor:totally but for them to have cumulatively been together almost a year he was actually seeing her over the summer so like did he cheat on her with sierra what was that about have sierra and me have spoken about that moment also mija was like waiting for him in new york at his apartment all the time he was in the while he was filming he said that he wouldn't be able to be on the show if he had a girlfriend not true which i think is true for season one cast members no west is like a staple now and he's had like a lot of he's very invested in the friend group you're allowed to be in a relationship.
19:35Clare O'Connor:Yeah, and I guess he could have, if he really liked her, you know, offered to bring her on the show. Of course. But he also said, like, he was sort of protecting her from public opinion and whatnot. He was sort of giving this girl the runaround. Yeah. She's like a schmuck waiting at the apartment. Like, well, he says he loves me. He's protecting me. But, like, he's, I can't go on the show. I can't be seen out in public with him. He loves me too much. Yeah, right, right. And she's, like, building furniture for him.
19:54Jackie O:Like, ooh, that was dark. The building. I've been mad for 10 years. I've been mad for 10 years. I would never build a piece of furniture for my husband.
20:00Clare O'Connor:At first when Sierra said, like, didn't you build the furniture in his apartment? I was like, is she a carpenter? Because I know she made the ties. So I was like, maybe she's a built. Handsy. Like she builds, maybe, like I follow some girls on Instagram who build furniture. They do. So I was like, maybe that's what she does. No, she was saying like, you know, and that's a thing couples do is they build the Ikea furniture. They fight, they work through it. They're stronger for it. She was making more of a statement
20:22Jackie O:on like the level of commitment they had made to one another. But I did not see that as a slay. I had two major takeaways from this reunion. One, like everyone was pissing me off because I'm all down to like clown on West and Amanda. Like I'm there with you all. But like when we are rewriting history when it comes to Amanda and Kyle's marriage, like I found that really frustrating because it's like, yeah, we can now look at everything with like more of a sinister eye and like not blame Kyle for everything. But like we all watched, we all saw what happened this summer. And so for everyone, like seriously, I'm surprised they didn't snap their necks bending over backwards just to try to make their marriage completely Amanda's fault.
20:56Jackie O:Like it was actually painful because up until now, like what everyone against open man and West have had on their side is like the truth. And like now it's like we're bending the truth. Like Kyle's not this guy. He is not an amazing husband. Everyone trying to like, what do you mean? Like he'd never cheated on you. And it's like, what are you guys talking about? Like everyone was actually pissing me off to the point where it's like, okay, well now the team of truth tellers is actually starting to lie. And that's pissing me off.
21:19Clare O'Connor:Yeah. And like Sierra saying, like, I wish I saw things from your side this summer. I got the impression this summer that Sierra doesn't even like Kyle as a friend. Like not only is he a bad husband to her best friend, but like she's not interested in a friendship with him. So like now rewriting history, been like, I should have like been there for you. Like been there for whom?
21:35Jackie O:No, and when they were like rehashing the argument where he told her to shut the fuck up, called her a dumb bitch. Like we're all sort of, we're rationalizing it. We're justifying it.
21:41Clare O'Connor:Yeah, because we see her as like a wicked woman now.
21:44Jackie O:So it's like, well, of course the wicked woman should fuck off. Deserved it. Yeah, and it's like, let's not do that. Let's not re, like two things can be true. It was really pissing me off. And even when like West had to apologize to Kyle, The only time he apologized in this whole reunion so far was he apologized to Kyle for the Wolf of Wall Street, which. I didn't think was a bad analogy. I thought I agreed with him. Like what? Like so now West is to apologize for saying something about Kyle in regards to how Kyle speaks his wife. Like everything was just kind of backwards when we were talking about Amanda and Kyle's marriage.
22:15Jackie O:It was pissing me off.
22:16Clare O'Connor:Yeah. And it really wasn't that big of a deal. He tried to make an analogy. Sure, it was a little harsh, but like for Kyle to like go crying, whining like you ruined my gift.
22:24Jackie O:like oh right the other watch like no everyone has lost the plot now like and it's annoying when people do that because now it's like well now I'm like looking at everything you're saying with like a little bit of a suspicious eye but it was the first time in the reunion where the the couch that I'm siding with like was pissing me off yeah when we talk about Wes and Amanda we talk about the timeline like they are 100 % wrong they shouldn't even speak because there's nothing to say
22:46Clare O'Connor:two things that are like bothering me and lingering for me one like I need someone to ask the question like Amanda you were best friends with Sierra this summer crying in the bed together like sisters sisters how do you go from that to your feelings for this man are strong enough to betray your sister even though you've never said you're in love you hadn't had sex you're just exploring something like how do you rationally make that decision in your head like where was your relationship at with Sierra in January in February when Sierra says she's been there for you and She's checking in and wants to go to drinks with Mia.
23:17Clare O'Connor:And so like what gave you permission to do that to someone who was a sister to you? Why did you think that that was an okay thing to do? One. The other thing is that everyone keeps saying West cares so much about being well-liked. His image. Dara said it. And we've been saying this for years. You know, the watch parties, the fans. He cares about his Q score. He resented Ciara for like turning the fans against him. What I don't understand, like when people say that, it just makes me feel like he loves Amanda even more because he's throwing all of that in the garbage.
23:48Jackie O:And I think it's just like the alternative. Like he acted on an impulse and it went so south that the alternative to now like backing out of it is worse. But they could have made out once.
23:57Clare O'Connor:In private. In private. Even if it came to light, you know, apologize because he cares about being likable. Yeah. But it seems as though he likes Amanda more than he cares about being likable. So the more that they say that and that he's using her to be likable, they've never been more unlikable. Yeah. It's not adding up. It actually makes me feel like he's thrown away everything that he once cared about more than anything for this girl.
24:20Jackie O:And maybe it's just that we've like beat this situation to a horror, like beat to a pulp, that like now I'm just starting to see alternative sides because like you can only talk about something so much before you offer another perspective. But like everyone was really pissing me off last night. Like I think that like undoubtedly what they've done is wrong and their behavior is really strange. That's really what it is. But I think that people are taking it like, I think KJ putting his like family history and drama on West like that's unfair um it's a lot like that kind of has nothing to do with this and I'm sorry that like maybe you resonate with this type of behavior but to put all of that on West is like really not his doing so I just feel like now everyone's really lost the plot and they're just like obsessed with yelling at Amanda and Kyle so much so to the point where it's making Amanda and Kyle look look West Amanda and West like look good like I actually felt bad
25:04Clare O'Connor:for Amanda like yeah it's like bring her back out so we can beat her up again yeah like I actually I felt bad for her. They were like, get out here, coward. Yeah. Yeah. And she's really just like doing her best. She's obviously just trying to get through the day. She doesn't care how it goes. She doesn't care what's said to her. She's there to be a punchy bag and move forward from it. But she's like obviously having a hard time doing that despite all the copious medication that she appears to be on. Yeah. Because it is hard. Of course. And it's like everyone like pretends to also like kind of care because Lindsay's like, I'll go after her.
25:32Clare O'Connor:Yeah. So I can beat her up again. You know, Lindsay was like piling on a little bit. Oh, they all are. And I understand they are in the right. What she did was so wrong. Like, let's get her. Yeah, but like to what end? To what end? They've chosen each other. They don't think it's a huge deal. And the bigger deal that everyone makes it. The more it like we're all at least for me, I'm like, all right, like it's bad.
25:59Jackie O:Yeah.
25:59Clare O'Connor:Yeah. But it gets to a point where like does the punishment fit the crime?
26:04Jackie O:Let's talk quickly about Lindsay and Carl. The way I ship, like when he was like saying how it meant so much to him that Lindsay came like. What do you mean? Of course you came into her job. And he did also like apologize. I feel like as Lindsay, we were like Lindsay truthers. He did pull the rug out from underneath her. And I think that everybody like hated Lindsay at that time. So Carl was sort of like. Victim. Yeah. And for him to be like, no, like I meant a lot for me for her to come. Like even after how I treated her, which like I am really sorry for. It was like a very small brief acknowledgement.
26:34Jackie O:but like for me as a Lindsay truther it felt good but I need that from the rest of the cast they were so awful to her then Lindsay's right like when Amanda leaves Lindsay's like you know how many fun and it's true Lindsay for like three seasons in a row was just getting her ass beat at the reunion like all the girls the girls were so fucking mean to her like the girls girls like they just were looking for anything to to find fault in with her and yeah she never got up she's just
26:57Clare O'Connor:like she's a different breed she's built different she's tough and she's strong and she can handle it Amanda is weak and she can't handle it.
27:06Jackie O:Yeah, but it's a good point. Like I could see why she has sort of no sympathy for Amanda because like Lizzie's like, I didn't even do shit as bad as you
27:13Clare O'Connor:and I had to take it. They get the credit for coming to the reunion. We get to say like they came to the reunion, you know, if they didn't come to the reunion, they'd be off the next season. It would be a breach of contract. So someone was saying like she comes to the reunion, but she's not actually going to do the reunion. It seems like a bit of a cop out, but she's doing it.
27:28Jackie O:She's doing it. Like I now I'm at the place where I feel like she's been punished. I don't think she fully understands why what she did is so wrong. That's what's crazy.
27:35Clare O'Connor:And for me, it's the betrayal of Sierra. How you could do that to a sister with the guy that she was crying with you over five months ago. Because their relationship went a little bit into September, I guess. So that's happening in September. And then like January, you start, February, you start catching feelings. Like that's the thing that she really needs to answer for. In the beginning of the saga, I was like, oh my God, that's crazy for Kyle. like his best friend and his wife's missus, you know, but his mate's missus. But Kyle was such a shite husband.
28:07Jackie O:It's true. So I agree. I actually don't think, let's say Wes was just Kyle's friend, not Sierra's ex. Like, you know what? When you treat your wife like such dog shit, you actually don't get the respect afterwards.
28:18Clare O'Connor:That would be if Amanda started dating Jesse Solomon, which would be cute. Yeah, it would be crazy. Like maybe it would be a storyline. It would be scandalous. But I think a lot of people would root for it. They would want to see her happy. she chose the one person who she should not have chosen absolutely and i don't think she fully gets
28:33Jackie O:i don't think she's really sorry like i think that the way it the way it unraveled like i think she's it thinks it's unfortunate but i don't think she's like deeply sorry to sierra but that's insane you know so she's crazy like and so that's why it's like hard to even have a full thought on it because on the one hand it's like well you know what like we've berated the girl enough she has mental health issues like how much are we going to do like what do we want to happen but on the other hand it's like do you even understand why people are mad at you I don't think that she does yeah it's very odd behavior yeah I guess I guess she would have to really be like I'm so sorry I did this to you
29:09Clare O'Connor:but like I love him that's really all she could say yeah and they're not at that place in their
29:12Jackie O:relationship it's very awkward now I also have a hot take about like Dara's double double homicide yeah um she like made this like monologue that everybody I think thought was really powerful I think she just used big words to say what we're all saying is that he's gonna throw you out like trash the second he's done with you. No, no, he said, she said what everyone has been saying, but she said it in a new, eloquent, an eloquent way. And so much so that they made her repeat it and she like embellished a lot the second time. Like it was, I just knew she like did it again amazingly again. I feel like that's something we would have like missed in editing.
29:40Jackie O:Like, you know, when somebody says something, but she wasn't there, so they'll redo it again. But like the fact that they showed it to us twice, like I just felt awkward. Like, yeah,
29:47Clare O'Connor:I guess they thought that like Dara might have West's back because they came on as friends. Yeah. And I guess she was just issuing a warning to Amanda. But yeah, everything Dara said just made me feel like Wes loves her. Oh, wow. You're seeing it from a new side. Yeah, because he cares so much about his Q score and being likable and the ladder and the social climbing. And he just went down 20 pegs to do this.
30:11Jackie O:He gave up so many things that we've now been told are so deeply important to him. For Amanda. That it's got to be true love.
30:21Clare O'Connor:So if I'm Amanda, I'm winning. Flattered. Winning. Because I know she went into the dressing room and she's like, the things that they're saying about you are like really like sort of destabilizing her in terms of like if she can trust him. But like if I'm her, I'm like, wow, he turned his back on all that he loved. For me. For me. It's beautiful. And then I did think the FaceTime to me was losery. I appreciate the information about the summer. And it's funny because on the one hand, Wes is in the room being like, it's going to get easier from here on out. I think he thought the hard part was over.
30:47Clare O'Connor:Yeah, no, there's brilliant editing. They didn't even show a preview for part three. I think part three we've not seen anything of. we've not heard anything of. I think we have no idea what's... Beautiful. I think part three is like really going to be explosive and we have no idea what's coming because they're going to bring up Mija and the timeline.
31:04Jackie O:Oh, maybe like Amanda doesn't even know.
31:05Clare O'Connor:Yeah, but also they're in Rome together so they're like, they're loved up. Yeah. And she's still rocking that bunny tail that everyone's clowning on her face. Half bun, half ponytail. Yeah, where it's like before West Mandeville
31:14Jackie O:they've been like, slay Ellie Bieber. New hairstyle of the season. Totally. Everyone's just full of shite. I thought that I didn't have a season three premiere. Sorry. Excuse me? Start again. You know what? No. What's next? You thought you didn't have a season three premiere. I thought that my episode didn't give me premiere for part three. What? At the end. Because I was watching a screener. Oh, no. I thought maybe they don't do that.
31:39Clare O'Connor:I was watching a screener, too. It said to be continued. A to be continued never gets a. Yes, it does. No, it doesn't. Yeah, it does. It did just say to be. Okay. I started watching the screener, too, because I couldn't deal with commercials. Yeah, okay. You know, I don't like to watch my screeners, but the audio was good. Yeah. So to be continued on that also, apparently in the city got a little crazy because they showed a scene from October of West and Amanda at like a group lunch or whatever. And she's like having a fun, flirty time. Everyone's still team Amanda in this world. And then she's shooting her confessional and she's talking, you know, in past tense, like about what was happening in October.
32:14Clare O'Connor:And the producer comes on, breaks the fourth wall. It's like, I think we need to speak as of now. And they show the date. It's May 5th. but they're filming this confessional. And so they're like in this scene, like, did you have feelings for West?
32:26Jackie O:And what did she say?
32:26Clare O'Connor:I, um, I was driving. So, and the light turned green. So she said, no, she said no, but like, they're really breaking the fourth wall and like, they have to trying to weave, you know, tell the story from a couple of different points. Yeah. And like,
32:40Jackie O:I'm sorry to the other castmates who were like hoping to get to be like, you know, understood and heard, but like, I, I can't, I cannot take on new people right now in terms of this group. There's too much, left to do so sorry kenny it'll have to wait or like yvonne she's pregnant i don't even know who
32:57Clare O'Connor:that is lindsey's friend oh wait the husband didn't know she went am i yeah yeah yeah yvonne with a y yeah yeah yeah the husband didn't know she went yeah um so that's summer house recap finale next week see you there second story love island usa la usa introduces a new twist in season eight premiere that leaves a contestant in tears what was the twist like the bombshells like came and left with Kenzie. Did she? She's crazy.
33:26Jackie O:Okay, so the first episode, you know, it's always tough to like know everyone's names and like it's a lot of information. I was really hyped up for the music video that they do in the beginning because I feel like that song like always becomes a song of the summer. That's just the way you make me feel. That was one last year and then there was a lot of rumors that this one this year was going to be it's the midnight sun kiss get under the red sky and they did use that song for somebody's package but I do not like the song that they chose. Not that that's the point. Yeah, and I love Sagala. There's so many good Sagala ones.
33:56Clare O'Connor:I didn't know that one. I didn't like it. The thing is, the person who does music for Love Island is the greatest, is a musical genius. I'm always Shazam. Hans Zimmer could never. Absolutely. Mozart could never. Never. My phone is permanently in Shazam during the episode. So I'm going to trust that, and as the music video went on, I like the song more and more. I'm going to trust that it's going to become, like they know what they're, they have the ear. Okay. Don't doubt the Love Island sound mixer.
34:22Jackie O:So like there are no early favorites because everyone is like pretty average looking and personality. Like there's no one who stands out. I like Melanie because she's very beautiful.
34:32Clare O'Connor:Melanie is definitely the prettiest. I like Melanie a lot. And Melanie and Sincere appear to have a sincere relationship. And they chose each other.
34:38Jackie O:And they stayed with each other despite the bombshells. There were a couple of people towards the end who like I was really surprised like didn't stay with one another. Sean and the Olympian. She walked out. Bea. Yeah. Yeah. She left him. Yeah. I thought they had like amazing chemistry and I kind of liked them together. I really like her. I think it's like a really hard position to be in to come on a show like this and be like in like she says she has a disability. I don't know if I would call her like an amputee or whatever, but it's like such a shallow show and everyone's so obsessed with like looks and hot bombshell.
35:08Jackie O:So I think she and she also has an amazing personality. Yeah.
35:12Clare O'Connor:She's bursting with personality and confidence that she's she's probably like an early favorite for me. And I was disappointed that she didn't choose Sean. I know. Let's talk about Sean, the police officer who wants to spit in your mouth.
35:22Jackie O:Yeah. So it was very, you guys, when he said he likes to, and you know what? I really need to be more careful of my digital footprint that I'm leaving behind. Cause like I'm literally someone's mother. But like when he said he likes to fuck girls from the back and spit in their mouth. And he's someone's father and a police officer. Oh, right. Oh, and he also said he was a police officer for six years, even though we know it was only one year. Cause the mayor blew up his spot. Look, I just about died when they started making out. and like they were opening the door and like you would have to kiss the person who was outside the door but sometimes there was three girls and they were all just like swapping.
35:52Jackie O:Like I actually felt like I was watching a pornography. Like it was insane and I guess the Love Island UK version they say is like much cleaner and it's probably my least favorite part of the show. I don't know if that makes me like a prude and nobody agrees with me but like it's really too much. Like the ASMR kissing, like I could throw up. I feel like I'm watching a horror movie sometimes. I cover my eyes. It's really disgusting. And it doesn't serve the, like I don't know what purpose it serves in the plot. Like I really wish they would stop doing that.
36:18Clare O'Connor:I know. Last season it was my least favorite part. And then the challenges when they were like humping this season, they decided to kick it up and actually they said more kissing, more saliva, more partners, more, more, more. Like I, I find it gross. At least with like the, the body, um, the heart rate challenge. That's like the, at least that's one. And I'm a challenge. Yeah. At that point, the, the villagers like know each other. It's funny. Everyone looks forward to it. I can excuse a little bit of raunchiness, But like night one out of the gate, like multiple partners swapping slide. But like kissing as if they're in like a romantic movie.
36:50Clare O'Connor:Like romantic movie, a pornographic movie. No, but like they're kissing like it's like they're back for more. It's like, I just want to say that. What?
36:56Jackie O:Going into a kiss with your tongue already out is disgusting. Like tongues are supposed to come out once the kiss has begun. Like literally, if I ever saw someone kissing me, they come at me, their tongues already out of their mouth. Like, are you a dog? Are you a dog?
37:08Clare O'Connor:Also, remember last season, like Bella wasn't kissing. Bella Dashay, yeah. She did cheek kisses. I thought that was so cute. I would have liked for this season to have more people like that who are like, I'll give you a peck and let's take it from there. But they obviously felt the opposite. Like we're never doing that again. They got bigger sluts and whores.
37:24Jackie O:Like it's insane. I'm sorry. Like not to be like patronizing. Like I'm better than you. Like I am. I would never fucking do that. And it's like, are your parents watching this show?
37:33Clare O'Connor:No. And it's like you actually can't apply for the show. Like just if you're looking for love and fame in earnest, because you also like have to make out with five people a day.
37:41Jackie O:No and what's crazy actually I was seeing this What show was I just oh I was watching off campus Where it's like these people are all actors But you're also like porn stars like you do Porn on television like that's Porn star and so It's like yeah you're a nursing student but you're also Like a low key porn star yeah
37:58Clare O'Connor:It's insane yeah there's really no going Back to your job after the show so I just like I hate that part
38:02Jackie O:Of the show I really do I do think it ruins it and
38:04Clare O'Connor:I thought it was just gonna be like one challenge of like Which sex position do you like and then there was
38:08Jackie O:Multiples oh and the episode was so long I do feel Like they could have cut some stuff like are you a dog cat or plant person yeah even though casey when he like nobody nobody was behind his door and then he got like coupled up like two losers getting coupled a couple dubs together even though i kind of like them um he had such a funny they stood by each other yeah and he had a very funny take after it he was like i feel like i lost everyone with the plants like he was really
38:30Clare O'Connor:making me laugh yeah i would have went to every door that i thought would be the least popular with no one behind so i didn't have to kiss but it's also like love island is a humiliating like I would know like the dog. If you want to kiss multiple, like go to the dog door.
38:44Jackie O:But the show is literally a humiliation ritual because what do you mean no one was behind your door? Like I would be, I would never recover from that.
38:51Clare O'Connor:Yeah. It's better when it's happened to a guy though. Of course. Yeah. But he winds up. Oh, and then Anaya has to be like discarded when there's two for one. Yeah. Two for one special.
39:04Jackie O:Two losers together. It's like nobody wanted them. And it's like, that's not sexy. That's not a good way to start a relationship. No, but they like each other. kissing it's like you it's too much because then when people do kiss and like i guess they like are
39:15Clare O'Connor:actually in love like how are we supposed to know no i know and like it's a big deal to like kiss outside of a challenge i guess like that's how islanders figure it it's like everyone kisses in a challenge but like did you kiss outside of a challenge got it and some people were kissing outside of challenge yes they were like when they opened the door they would like kiss each other yeah yeah i didn't get to the first night yet they were just like talking about breakfast so Seriously, fuck breakfast in the villa. They make it such an ordeal. I guess one season, the men made breakfast for the women, and the viewers loved it, and now it's like, what do you want for breakfast?
39:46Clare O'Connor:I just stopped.
39:49Jackie O:And it's not fair that the islanders sleep on the main floor and the girls have to get dressed on the top floor. They have to walk upstairs after they wake up, whereas the guys get dressed right there. The glam room should be on the same floor as the kitchen and the bedrooms. Why? It's just like, we have to go up and down stairs when you're getting dressed and doing your makeup. These are like some of the fittest people. No, no. The men should have to walk upstairs to like shower and stuff. They don't have a room like that.
40:12Clare O'Connor:The showers? The showers are for everyone. Oh, are they co-ed? Yeah. That's nuts. Yeah. But no, having like a little like, you know, tree house where that's a glam room. Like, yes, please give me my privacy.
40:23Jackie O:Oh, I'm sorry to tell you this, but like big loser is Charlie's brother. Like he was just giving nothing like bad.
40:31Clare O'Connor:Yeah. He didn't give a lot, but I wouldn't say like a lot. It's not a good group. Yeah. A lot of people gave, like everyone gave nothing. Yeah. I would say some of the guys in their packages came off as kind of like good quality Santa guys. Yeah, it wasn't like a lot of assholes.
40:44Jackie O:Yeah.
40:44Clare O'Connor:It seems like people looking for love, people who love their mothers and respect women. So what part did you get up to?
40:50Jackie O:They all stepped on the red and the green.
40:51Clare O'Connor:Yes. And then they got in their couples. And then I saw a conversation between Sincere and Melanie where they both like the Eagles and she bleeds green. And they were excited about that. You saw the red and the green? No, I read about it.
41:03Jackie O:Oh, okay. So let me just tell you what happens at the end of the episode. So if you like your couple, there's a door. You can't see your boyfriend. But if you want to stay in the couple, you step on green. And if you want to leave the couple, you step on red. So Casey and Sincere and Melanie and Sincere and Casey and Anaya both stayed with one another. Sean stayed, but Bea left. Zach. Zach left. And what's her name? Crazy nurse. Kenzie stayed. Kenzie stayed. And then who's the other couple? Bryce and Trinity. Oh, Trinity left. Oh, did they? Okay. So then the new bombshells came and nobody sees the results yet.
41:39Jackie O:The bombshells came and made out with the people who wanted to leave the relationships and then like took the people who with them and went somewhere and the episode ended. Yeah.
41:48Clare O'Connor:The bombshell, the girl looks beautiful. Gorgeous. The boy, I thought that boy was the one who. Gabriel. Who got fired. Yeah, no, he's Brazilian and he's extremely hot. I saw like a really on point tweet last night about this. I just want to say the best part of watching Love Island is reading the tweets. People are so funny. It is true. It said production had a whole year to cast and do their checks, but waiting till cast reveal to remove people because of public opinion. Like stand on business and keep the cast you casted. These range fans are so annoying. It's true. You had a year. No, you obviously do a lot of like extensive work on someone.
42:22Clare O'Connor:You spend time with the, if you're going to put someone as an OG villager, like you get to know their personality. Are they a good person? Are they a bad person? So like stand on business. Like that's who you cast. and like if they've made a mistake in their past, I'm done having this conversation because it is what it is. Like you've done something, you're getting fired, goodbye. I'm not here to like argue with Peacock and be like, you should like, you know, stand behind the people that you cast and not like throw them to the fucking wolves over something that they once did when they're clearly not a bad person or you wouldn't have cast them.
42:47Clare O'Connor:Right. That's how I feel. Obviously, I've said that before. I'm not gonna, every time someone drops like, I'm just saying goodbye. Like obviously this is how they choose to conduct their business. I think it's stupid. Moving on.
43:00Jackie O:Yeah. Melanie in her package had like a really she's like did you hear what she said about like girls girls she's like when I hear someone say she's a girls girl I like run the other way yeah you should just you don't have to say you should just be it yeah so we'll see like it's too soon to tell the group isn't giving me like insane vibes no one way or the other it's kind of all like very mid but it's and Sean is a father yes did I say that Bea said it was a red flag she would never date someone in the real world with and that might be part of the reason why she stepped on the red oh yeah she had said that to the girls like if somebody was and I don't like the way the girls were saying it they were like when they were doing their like getting ready for your bed they were like babe what do you think and she was like red flag I don't like a red flag to be a father it could be like a like or a dislike for you
43:45Clare O'Connor:it's not like he abandoned his child he actually moved to a home in the city got a job there like to just be there for his child he's kind of giving Jalen
43:53Jackie O:like in terms of just like stand up guy
43:54Clare O'Connor:he is but there is something
43:56Jackie O:the bar is in hell all the girls were like you moved to be with your son that's amazing it's like if a mom did that you'd be like yeah bitch move well you don't have to move because they're with you and you know like you know what i mean like the bars they're like
44:05Clare O'Connor:you did oh my god no i thought that like okay so the bars in hell i thought it was like no i love that he did it so he did the right thing correct but he could have done the wrong thing yeah and then like i don't see my kid a lot right there across the country um so she said it was like a
44:17Jackie O:red flag and that if somebody you know in the real world had a son like she would never even
44:21Clare O'Connor:entertain which i just thought was like kind of mean yeah i agree and now i understand my like
44:25Jackie O:hood I didn't tell anyone that she had a kid like people are so fucking mean she like pulled the
44:29Clare O'Connor:wool over everyone's eyes and then like made that's not a good way to do it either stepdad he didn't even know yeah that's not a good way to do it either no no it's good but you know what like then she's not right for him if like she can't possibly contemplate like dating someone with a child she's not right for him um I do think like leaving the forces to do love island is really crazy it's a nutty thing to do and I understand like why the mayor felt like he needed to say something about it and like he felt personally victimized by love and I didn't realize like there are a lot of like threats to police forces, you know, budget cuts, et cetera.
45:01Clare O'Connor:I didn't realize like the police force is up against Love Island as well. Just add it to the list. Add it to the list. Like, but it makes sense. They're like fit,
45:10Jackie O:you know, looking for love. The pool of people who are eligible for the police force while also being eligible for Love Island USA is like, they're kind of from the same pool. Yeah. Of like, of like young fit males. Mostly. Yeah. Oh,

And people don't realize how much water quality can affect your hair and skin. And when you switch to Jolie, the feeling, like, you'll be able to see it pretty quickly. I think a lot of people, though, are, like, attached to their shower heads in terms of aesthetic or pressure. And the Jolie is really pardy. It comes in a bunch of different finishes. 50:32Jackie O:It's just a good, cozy bra. And then that was my gateway to the company because I didn't know they also made postpartum clothing. They also make things for babies. Super cute. So cozy. 51:21Clare O'Connor:Thank you, Sash Turk. You're welcome. Our next story, a little moving casting news. Sasha Peters will star as Rosemary Kennedy in the tragic story of JFK's sister. So Rosemary Kennedy is getting the biopic treatment starring Sasha Peters.
51:38Jackie O:Rosemary Kennedy is one of the craziest stories of our time. So it's sort of ripe for a biopic. Sasha Peters feels like such a random casting just because we know her as A. Yeah. But she's like a talented, competent actor.
51:53Clare O'Connor:I don't know why it feels right. Like seeing the pictures side by side, like I can see it. There's no one who like immediately comes to mind for Rosemary. And I'm just like, I like Sasha Peters. Like put her in. Yeah. Like it's not Anne Hathaway. You know, like it's something new.
52:08Jackie O:Yeah. It feels random, but she is like a competent actress. And so, yeah, like do something new, do something different. I agree. I have no problems with this. It just feels random.
52:15Clare O'Connor:For those who don't know, Rosemary Kennedy was the sister of President John F. Kennedy and Senators Robert F. and Ten Kennedy. As a child, she reportedly exhibited developmental delays and in her young adult years is said to have developed behavioral issues. In response, the family patriarch, Joseph Kennedy Sr., arranged a lobotomy on her when she was 23 years old, a procedure which left her permanently incapacitated. She spent most of the rest of her life being cared for at an institution in Wisconsin and she was isolated from family and siblings for long periods of time. She died from natural causes in 2005 at age 86.
52:47Jackie O:It's such a terrible story. They literally removed a whole chunk of her reign. And like now knowing what we know, like what were her behavioral issues? Was she like autistic? Like, you know what I mean? Like is there something now that we know like what she would have been considered? I don't know. Like behavioral issues is just so general.
53:04Clare O'Connor:Yeah, general and like developmental delays could really be anything. She wasn't crawling? Like what was it, you know? No, she was 23 years old. No, but when you say developmental delays, like it could mean a million things.
53:14Jackie O:She could have been like acting out. I don't know. Right.
53:16Clare O'Connor:it's such a like it's such a dark corner of the kennedy family history yeah it comes up a lot like people always talk about i think people only really know that you know she was uh lively yeah like overexcited 23 year old and then she had a lobotomy and then she's at her parents like behest yeah and then she was incapacitated for the rest of her life and disabled yeah it's
53:37Jackie O:it's sort of like a shit stain on the kennedy family legacy it's like and they kept her hidden Like, it's just a really dark. I don't know a ton about it. Like, actually, I will see this movie. But I think people bring it up a lot, too, because it's also.
53:50Clare O'Connor:When they talk about the Kennedy curse, they believe that this is the origin.
53:54Jackie O:Oh, I didn't know that. That's what I've heard. I thought people talked about a lot because, like, you know, when we're talking about, like, you know, how like like lobotomies are one of those things like hysteria, like where you would remove a woman's uterus because they thought she had hysteria. Like one of those things that you used to do medically that now we're insane. Like people, lobotomy used to be like a recommended surgery where you would literally cut out a piece of a person's brain. You would drill into someone's skull.
54:17Clare O'Connor:Yeah.
54:18Jackie O:And now we're like, are you dumb? Yeah. But like at the time, it was widely considered like a leading, advanced, doctoral.
54:24Clare O'Connor:Yeah, like smart, wealthy people doing it. Right. Doctors recommending it.
54:29Jackie O:So I feel like whenever I hear about Rosemary Kennedy, it's in that context.
54:31Clare O'Connor:Yeah, of like lobotomy being cited as something that, you know, at the time was cutting edge and now is barbaric. And then it, of course, makes you think about whatever we're doing right now that might seem cutting edge right now that history will remember as barbaric. So Sasha Peters being cast like, OK, I'm down.
54:48Jackie O:I like it. Me too. Where, who, what, when, where, why, how in the movie? Is it a Netflix? Like, what is it? So here's what it is.
54:55Clare O'Connor:Mike Medivoy, who's a director known for Black Swan and Shutter Island, is helping shepherd the film, which will be written and directed by Corey Todd Hughes. Shutter Island. It's getting the Shutter Island. This is major for Sasha Peters. Yeah, and Adrian Speckert, whose scripts to date have included Under Fire, starring Dylan Sprouse, and Foster, starring Ron Perlman. Okay, Dylan Sprouse, but it doesn't say, maybe it's going to be like a theatrical release. According to the team, the contained thriller will, quote, dramatize Rosemary Kennedy's struggle with mental health, the devastating decision by her father to subject her to a lobotomy at age 23, and the long-lasting consequences of that choice.
55:31Clare O'Connor:The film is based on an article in All That's Interesting called Rosemary Kennedy, JFK's sister who was lobotomized and locked away.
55:39Jackie O:I imagine the family's not thrilled. They didn't even like when that Ryan Murphy thing came out, which was largely flattering. So, Gurgel Loins.
55:48Clare O'Connor:Yeah. Peter said of the role, Rosemary's story has been told in fragments. What drew me to this project is how it explores her as a person, not a symbol, but a fully realized human being with dreams and vulnerabilities. Stop. It's like such a sad story. The director said this isn't just a historical biopic. It's a psychological journey told through Rosemary's eyes. One that challenges the audience to reckon with how we define agency, dignity, and identity. I'm sat. Yeah, me too. I'll give it five sats down. Yeah, agreed. Are you ready for our fourth story? Kylie Jenner boards her private jet with her kids and her friends for a lavish Turks and Caicos vacation for Kylie Cosmetics.
56:26Jackie O:so like I said I love that this is like Kylie's attempt at like you know getting in the mix with you know brand trips and influencers like I guess all of her friends like do have a million TikTok followers so it's like why would I take some randoms when I could take my friends um so it's basically just like a girl's trip with Stormi on the company card and I love that I love that too
56:44Clare O'Connor:we know she loves Turks and Caicos she was actually raving about Turks and Caicos with Jake Shane um so this is just like fun and flirty I will say like for me if I'm like head of comms at Kylie Cosmetics. Like, I don't know that this is it. It's not. Not at all. I would have liked to see, if we're really trying to like highlight Kylie Cosmetics, show the product, because they are like watermelon sugar lip balm is coming out. I think she should have done it with all her sisters.
57:12Jackie O:Yeah, no, this feels like they're getting in the game that everyone plays. And this is the game that you have to play when you're a celebrity founded brand. Like you have to do the events, you have to host influencers, you have to make TikTok, you have to do brand trips. And this is like her getting involved in like her own way. And they did it 10 years ago.
57:25Clare O'Connor:They're also throwing flashbacks to pictures from the time that they did it with friends, which was also really fun when they did it then. But it's giving me a little bit like King Kylie Nostalgia, like redoing what was once iconic and like not a new idea.
57:37Jackie O:Yeah. I don't know what's right and what's next for Kylie Cosmetics because it does feel like this brand that's stuck in 2016. They released new products quite frequently and their products are like, you know, they just have a new lip peptide. Like they're on trend, but it feels like Claire's makeup. I think they need a total rebrand. And I feel like it should just be called like Kylie, not even Kylie Cosmetics. It's just like, I don't know what's right for the brand. I don't think that it's this. I don't think this is going to, you know, make a big. Yeah. But I was looking at the brand's Instagram yesterday.
58:06Jackie O:They have 24 million followers. Like it's insane. And they really have no impact on the industry like at all. Like this trip like is not doing anything. Yeah.
58:14Clare O'Connor:And maybe she was just taking a trip with her friends and was like, let's make it a moment for Kylie Cosmetics. They need a little bump.
58:18Jackie O:No, she did like this room tour when she went to Soss's room and showed what was on the bed.
58:22Clare O'Connor:No, and then she ends it and she's like, so that's everyone's rooms. She showed us like one and a half rooms.
58:26Jackie O:No, like that's what they do. You deck out people's rooms on brand trips. Like everyone gets like a free laptop with their name on it and a robe and product. And like comparatively, like everyone got like a couple of lipsticks and a water bottle. It also feels like when I'm watching the content from this trip, like they're all on like an inside joke that like I'm on the outside of.
58:43Clare O'Connor:Like they're so like best friends that like as an outsider, it's hard to feel like you're there and you're participating. because they're just like joking and saying half sentences and laughing at each other. And the success of a brand trip is like everybody shares everything and you feel like you're there. Yeah.
58:57Jackie O:Oh, man, who's rooming with who? Like, what's the drama? There's really none of that.
58:59Clare O'Connor:You know, and everyone's like a little tipsy and they're like just like having fun. I'm like, I'm happy for you guys. But like, what do I have to do with this?
59:06Jackie O:Yeah, it's just not. It's not giving.
59:09Clare O'Connor:No.
59:10Jackie O:I mean, Kylie doesn't have to do stuff like that. Like, I know that not it's not for everyone doing the TikTok influencer brand trip. So like, don't don't do it. But now like doing your own version of it just sort of highlights how like you refuse to sort of play the game. And it's like do literally anything else.
59:24Clare O'Connor:Yeah. Like where's Timothy? You could have been there with Timothy. Yeah. That would be like. They should host like.
59:28Jackie O:They should actually host like an NBA watch party. Like something. Something that feels personal to Kylie. Like this just feels so like. Okay. She likes Turks and Caicos.
59:35Clare O'Connor:And her friends. Yeah. And her mom. And it's just like it's been done. And it's not like doing much for me. But like I love to see my girl happy and thriving. They should do like a NYX palette.
59:45Jackie O:Like something. Blues and oranges. yay he'd love it yes no it's just like no that is so 2016 but the brand is like really stuck in
59:52Clare O'Connor:that like color pop 2016 era i guess i i can't see the brand with like clear vision because i love it yeah i still buy it i buy it too the skin tint is the best thing that's what they were saying when everyone was saying like what's your favorite product on the video like iris and kylie were like
1:00:08Jackie O:the skin tint i wear the skin tint in the summer i just will say if anyone in product development listening it's like so not transfer proof it ends up on all my clothes like when if I went if I were to go like this like it would just be it's like a little oily and I said but it's such a good like
1:00:21Clare O'Connor:summery full coverage light skin tint oh I maybe I should try it because I was telling you this Claudia but when I went to the I was at the dermatologist the other day and she was looking at my skin she's like you're like a little bit red I'm like yeah no that's like me if you guys ever like watch vlogs or anything if I'm ever like not wearing makeup like my skin is very red I've always said I've had like light rosacea and she was like do you want anything for that I'm like is that an option to like not be red all the time and she was like yeah like I have a topical cream it's like prescription trade it's prescription trade but it's not like too strong it's like made of some compound or whatever and so she gave it to me and like I'm gonna start using it it's the kind of strong so I use it like every other day right now but like it was just shocking to Jackie like that there was a solution for this like she just thought it was like no no something that you just like live with and it doesn't bother me and like I once I put my makeup on like you would really never know but I do wind up wearing like heavier foundations a skin tint I wouldn't be a
1:01:12Jackie O:candidate you are it's very full coverage you should check it out but now that like I have my
1:01:15Clare O'Connor:new cream I feel like is your oyster that scene in house bunny when she talks about her magic cream yeah and he's a throw mice in and like how it just made her so itchy but her skin was glowing yeah I also felt like Michaela like cream and this cream abused me like or whatever she said if I kept going back to the cream that was hurting right the cream that was hurting me that's what she said so I'll keep you guys posted on my cream journey I just thought that was really good I will but only once the cream yeah sets in yeah next fifth and vinyl story pink is hosting the 2026 Tony Awards and she's promising acrobatic moments interesting I just saw her on today
1:01:57Jackie O:morning oh yeah it was Gail King um she was saying that she's like taking a little bit of a step back from work to prioritize her daughter who is obsessed with being on Broadway. Yes. And so I guess this is Pink like sort of using her nepo to like get in with the Broadway
1:02:12Clare O'Connor:world. Well, she said it was almost an immediate yes when she was asked, but she had to get permission from Willow because it's her lane and they try and stay out of her lane. That's cute. But like the girl was like, can I come?
1:02:24Jackie O:Oh, that's sweet. And so Pink was like, yeah, I think I get seats. So what she was saying on Gayle King was that, because Gayle was like, well, is your daughter any good? Gayle was kind of being nuts. I respected the question, though, because Pink was like, there's nothing I won't do for my daughter. And Gayle was like, well, of course. But, like, is she good? And Pink was like, yes. And if she wasn't, like, I probably wouldn't have encouraged her to do it. And Gayle was like, well, how would you tell your daughter that she stinks? Like, Gayle was being really nutty. I mean, they're shifting things up at CBS, like, news.
1:02:55Jackie O:She's trying to stay on top of things So Pink was like Emulating how she would have had that conversation Like it was seriously like it was funny And I guess it's a good question I'm sure everybody just asks Pink The same questions but I just wanted to note Like Gail I see you you're insane I also saw Gail on Call Her Daddy like also like telling Crazy stories I feel like Gail is sort of She's just sort of a wallflower she's like Oprah's Friend but there's so There's so much there there
1:03:18Clare O'Connor:She was cracking me up she's sort of like an open book Yeah but you can't put her in a box Correct like most great women Like most great women. It's true. Yeah. And pink as well. She said there'll be acrobatics at the Tony Awards. Maybe I'll be watching.
1:03:31Jackie O:I just so don't see like the Tonys as a pink space. But like she's so Tony, you know, she's so Broadway, like theatrical. And I feel like she's really liked. She's probably one of the most well-liked celebrities. She's so unoffensive. She doesn't have beef with one person. Although I think she has beef with Taylor.
1:03:48Clare O'Connor:But she's, but it's funny because when the girls were girling back in the day, like she was the bad seed. Yeah. And it's like you would think like Jessica Simpson has no haters. And now all those girls like seem wackadoodle. And Pink is the sober one.
1:04:02Jackie O:Well, what's crazy was that Pink was like the alt one with short hair and like kind of goth. I mean, well, she's married 100 years. She's like a little traditional. Rebel. Yeah. Right. No, like goth. And she's like low-key a trad wife. Like she's married to a guy.
1:04:15Clare O'Connor:She winds up being like the most brand safe one. Stable. Like home life. Yeah. No divorces. Don't call her a trad wife. She won't like that.
1:04:21Jackie O:No, no. I was kidding. But you know what I mean. She's very traditional. Like her home life.
1:04:23Clare O'Connor:but she's still like that radical little rebel but she just does it in a way where it's like that's our radical little rebel and we love her I love her everybody loves her it's true
