Automatic transcript. May contain errors.0:20I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Tuesday. Hope everybody's having a day that is both pargelicious and definicious. And speaking of pargeliciousness and defiliciousness, I am honored, humbled to introduce today's guest, Jacqueline Follet. Hello, Jacqueline. Welcome to the show. Hey, Turdy Lou. Happy to be here. Okay, cable knit. Okay, stripes. Oh, I'm so glad you brought up my shirt. And I didn't bring up your shirt just to talk about my shirt. Don't you feel like everybody's talking about my shirt today? We're definitely all noticing that you're wearing a new shirt. What seems to be a new shirt.
0:54I'm not going to presume. Now, I'm sorry to the cardboard cadets. This is not from Nordstrom Rack. But my cardboard cadets will be pleased to know the shirt is also under$50. I went to Mango. Mango's so like having a moment. At the mall, I went to Mango. And I just like tried on a couple of things. Now, I want to shout out Mango for having reasonably priced clothing that is not ugly. I think that's important. But I do want to just sort of like tell Mango like small, medium, large. Like that's crazy. That's crazy small, medium, large. You know, like what about other sizes outside of that? So yeah, the shirt's a little tight, but like I just needed shirts.
1:27And so I went to Mango. Sometimes when you go too big, you get that bulk here. That's what I'm dealing with. Like I want bigger sizes, but I don't want extra bulk here. There's nothing better than a big shirt. Do you know what I mean? A shirt, yes. But that, if it were too big, would not be good. I think it looks nice on you. Thank you. So I do feel like everyone's kind of talking about my new shirt. Well, we're excited that you have a new shirt and that you're feeling Koji self. Yeah. And I went to the mall and it's just malls are amazing. They are. Oh, my goodness. It's really sad what's happened to them.
1:57So you like they're a thing of the past, right? Like they're sort of phasing out. Yeah. Especially the traditional malls. Now, like your mall has to be like a ratata, like a theme park. Yeah. Yeah. Like the American Dream Mall. Like it has a water slide and Legoland and it's also a mall. And even American Dream, I think, suffers. I think American Dream is like in financial ruin. I think they suffer in silence. I think they put on a strong face. I feel like it's quite loud. I feel like we're always hearing about how the New Jersey, whatever it's called, American Dream Mall, is like in financial despair.
2:26The people who built it like are living in poverty. Like there's always stories about that mall. I feel like they put on a brave face. They're always sending out emails about what SpongeBob is doing. Mr. Beast recorded like a huge video there. They act like nothing's wrong, but I think they're suffering. Yeah. I mean, I for one, I'm glad I didn't like ever get into the mall business. but as a mall patron I went to the mall like um over the weekend and I just had such an amazing time and Ben was sort of striking out like every store we went to he just didn't want it that badly you know like I was sometimes you have to go to the mall like with a mission and I went to the mall with a mission I'm like I'm not trying things on like if it looks like it fits it will fit um I went to Mango I went to Aloe like I went to a couple of stores just to get like toast clothing and I crushed it like every store I got close to Tommy Bahama okay I was crushing it and Ben was just like they like don't over my size I just I was like I feel like you don't want it bad enough Like he was being such like a sourpuss.
3:13He didn't want it. Speaking of mall brands, my sweater today, Aerie. Okay. I walked into, um, I feel like people would be shocked that I walked into an Aerie. Aerie. And? I think it was gifted like a year ago and I wore it like all last winter. You know what they call that sweater? Cable knit? Well, technically yes, but you know what other people call it? What? The Rory Gilmore sweater. Oh, cute. Mm-hmm. Um, and then I forgot that I had it, but it's been so chilly down here that, um, I'm excited to be wearing it today. It's a great sweater. You look beautiful. Thank you. As do you. Dazzling. You know what I did last night?
3:47I did something crazy. Crack? Crazier. Death? Crazier. I took a bath. Oh my god, that is really crazy of you because I also took a bath but that's sort of like a nightly occurrence. I haven't taken a bath. You guys, Jackie has this amazing bath. It's in the corner. It's by a window. There's art over it. It has multiple faucets. She never uses it. I've probably used your bath just as many times as you have. Probably. I haven't taken a bath certainly in over a year because I didn't take one pregnant while I was pregnant. And I didn't take one since I've given birth because I only went to my six week, 10 week appointment last week.
4:27But last like my body is just like hurting, like aching, almost like body aches, but I don't have the rest of a sickness. I feel like I'm fighting something off, but it's taking a toll on my joint. So you had to take it to the bath. So I was like, oh my God, I need a soak. So I took a bath. Did you wet your hair? No, no, no, no. Wetting your, washing your hair is from the shower. That's an Olympic sport, washing your hair in the tub. Especially I take a really hot bath. So when I get up, you get like dizzy when you get out of the bath. I need to then lay down. Quite literally a Victorian woman you are not built for this time yeah so Jackie she couldn't make it to dinner she had taken a warm bath my bath was too hot like that's literally like what happens in those shows like the empress yes she gets like woozy or like you know when like a woman's like outside they're like are you okay yeah but I enjoyed my bath my yearly bath that's great again next year bath I can't even picture you in the bath and it's like what do you really do and every time I'm in the bath I need one of those pillows that I get Instagram ads for that like prop up my back because what, I'm going to lay with my neck on the ledge like I'm washing my hair at the salon.
5:36So when you do take a bath and you commit to not wetting your hair, it's definitely less relaxing because just being able to lean back and get your hair wet is very relaxing. I got one, actually, Taylor Strecker got me one of those pillows for my birthday because she had one in her house and I was like, wait, that's amazing. She got me one. I have to tell you, and shout out to Taylor, It was an amazing gift for like two months. It became such a chore. First of all, it became smelly. And once it became smelly, I got rid of it. But like you really, in order to properly take care of it, like need to take it out of the bath every time you use it and air dry it.
6:04And I was like. But when it was in the bath, did it do what you needed it to do? No, because the pillow itself like does get a little wet. So if you really lean back on it fully, like your hair gets wet. Oh, but take that out. Like, was it cozy? Yes. So maybe I should get one for my yearly bath. It has a year to dry. Yeah, but you're going to put it outside. and like it's this big heavy soaking wet thing. Oh. Yeah, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Sorry, Taylor Strecker. And I know it's expensive too. Well, that was, it's the thought that counts. A very good gift. Yeah. She spoke to the Streckers this morning.
6:33How are they doing? Amazing. How's baby Strecker? They're doing amazing. Like they're loving every minute. Taylor Strecker keeps calling herself dad, which is cracking me up. And they actually said that, I don't want to spoil it because they're probably going to talk about it on their podcast about the birth certificate. They have to get it. Like there's an error on it that says, because there are two women, it says parent one and parent two. And then when they printed it, it said mom and dad. It actually says dad on there, which it can't be. Like it has to legally be correct. So she's calling herself dad.
6:59And it's so funny. Because she was dad. And she has taken on this sort of fatherly role. She spoke a lot when I was on her podcast and just in her podcast in general. I know she was struggling with that identity. But she's like she is dad. Like she's dad. She's literally about to get a tool belt. Like she's dad. It's hilarious. And she's like doing night feedings because she's the dad. You know. Oh, that's funny. Yeah. She's on diaper duty. Dad. Dad stuff. Hysterical stuff. I also have a newborn who eats every three hours again. Oh, yeah. But you actually do have a newborn. He's only like 11 weeks old.
7:27Yeah, he is. Well. How old is he? Let me guess. Let me guess. 14 weeks. No, less. I think he's 12 weeks. And, you know, it's confusing because I feel like my whole life I've been told that there's four weeks in a month. And then you have a four-week-old, but you don't have a one-month-old. Well, it's funny you bring that up because I don't know if you've seen the stats on this February. Oh, is it a historic February? Look at the calendar. Oh, is it full four weeks? It's blocks. Oh, I like that. And, you know, because it's 28 days, that's how the month should look. I completely agree. Now that's a month.
8:05That's a month. You know what's giving? Month. Yeah. It's like every week is Monday to Sunday, Monday to Sunday, Monday to Sunday. Yeah, the first is a Sunday. And then the last day of the month is the Saturday. I love that. It's a beautiful month. Enjoy it, everyone. I didn't even, much like Cynthia Erivo, I did not know that was happening. For those of us who are into months, it's major news. I feel like this is big news for people with planners. It is. And then March 1st will start on a Sunday. So that looks nice up until the three straggler days. That's nice. I like that. Yeah. So if you're, I actually want to get out my big calendar.
8:36We've been making so many plans. You saw just what I showed you my phone. It looks very busy. I feel like you should talk about how your life is so enriched since I decided not to leave. Why don't you talk about that? Oh, my life is so enriched. I'm so busy. Zach is like, is this going to be like an every, like, is this your new schedule now? We were just talking about maybe we were going to go shopping today. And I was like, well, while Claudia is here, yeah, we just have like so many things to do, so much fun to be had. I just want to make sure I'm not overwhelming you because you do still have like, you know, a newborn.
9:03No, like I'm definitely overwhelmed, but I think that it's good for me. Me too. I did say like my bones feel weary. You've run me down so much. I had to take a bath last night. She did have to take calcium. But I think overall, it's really good. I'm having a really good time. And you just let me know if you need us to scale it back. We can also do like more low key activities. You can just also like lay around your house. But like going to the mall with the babies like is a good activity for me because like I'm with my baby and we are doing something for us. I love that. Yeah. No, I'm definitely overwhelmed.
9:32But I think like busy is good. Yeah. And it's just like crazy how I literally convalesced for three months after I had Harry. Like I did not leave the house. The first time my big outing was your show at MSG. And that was in May. Oh, wow. I don't know if I realized that my big night was also like a big night for you. It was a big. I remember I was like, I took my pumps out. Now I would be like, I'm going out for a few hours. I'll skip a pump. Yeah, of course. I had Harry in February and that was my big was May. And like, then I remember with Charlie, like that was when I started using the baby carrier more because like you have a child.
10:03You have to get, you can't, I'll just be home. And now it's like, I like really the bubble is bursting. I feel like it makes it go by a little faster. Like the hard part. It does, but you also want to soak it up. I know. And it's the eternal conflict. Age old dilemma. So I try and soak up as much as I can. And I'm like, ratata, mama's got to go. And he's coming with. Yeah, of course. He's coming with. We got a carrier in every color. Okay, good. Matchy outfit. I'm glad that like we're having fun. We are having fun. I will go home when we stop having fun. I think that's like a good. But then you'll never come back.
10:37No, but we also, we never stop having fun. That's true. So I guess I'll never go home. But also if you wait till like you hate me, then you'll never come back. You have to leave on a high. Well, that is what I do. But that also happened when I was staying at your house. Like now that we're in our own little place, like it's better. When I was staying at your house, I would stay until like I actually could not stand you or your family. And then I wouldn't come back for months because I was like, I can't stand these people still. Right. So maybe leave on a high. Should I go home today? No. No. You hear they're not taking out the trash in New York.
11:02I was just talking to your friend. Who was I talking to? I talked to a lot of people this morning. I was like rolling. It sounded like it. Yeah. Shout out to Alicia. Yeah, I had to check in on my bestie who just had a baby. Had to check in on those trekkers. It's important to check in on people, you know. And I heard about the garbage pickup. Garbage hasn't been picked up in New York, I think, in like 10 days. So the streets are covered in ice and garbage. I ain't running home. I ain't running home. No, you're needed here. We've got plans. I mean, look at me. I'm kind of like a social chair of South Florida.
11:33I'm constantly like, should we go to dinner? I was actually thinking we should go out to dinner this week. Oh, you do? Girls or couples? Okay. So I'm actually glad you brought that up because I was thinking we should do couples. Because like I'm like every day I'm like Ben I'm going here I'm going there. I'm like doing a lot of things and he's kind of like being like a house frow. So I want to get Ben out of the house. We have reverse roles. You want to get Ben out of the house. Yeah I want to get Ben out of the house. So it's like okay maybe we go with husbands. And then it's just like a reservation for like eight people.
11:57It's like so many people. And then you also have to get a sitter. Like I like girls because. I was just going to drop my kids at your house. Oh yeah. But then I, but like, then my husband's home and like, I feel, I can really enjoy myself. I feel like that's what we always suggest on Dear Toasters. And it's like, I don't, I'm sorry, Zach, but like, this is how I can like have more fun. I totally agree. And it's not because I need to be just with the girls, but it's like, I, I don't want to deal with all that. Yes. No, the best feeling is like going and having fun while your husband is home. I know that's mean, but like with the baby, like no one, the only, the best thing after me is him.
12:30Yeah. Yeah. No, I totally agree. So like you really have peace of mind. Okay. I told you to a girl's dinner. That's my arm. Sounds good. But then every time I got, I went out at night twice last week and I was like, this is not for me. I actually agree. Catch me during the day. I don't love going out at night. Me neither. But I do want to go out to dinner maybe when it's almost daylight savings, like in a month and then it will start to be lighter later. And maybe then going out to dinner will feel better. It won't be like pitch black. If I'm still here. Well, oh, true. Yeah. You're making big plans.
12:57Like slow down. No, no. But Claudia, it's safer daylight savings. It's true. It really is so impactful here. like when we get more daylight because we can really use it because the weather is good you'll know what it sounds like you've been doing making big big plans you're you are so close praying for daylight you were so close yeah yeah praying for daylight and rascal flats oh my god yes so we are going to the rascal flats concert and that is technically why i am still here because I was not coming back. So we'll reevaluate after Rascal Flatts. They better put on a heck of a show. Oh my God.
13:34We have to talk about that too. We have to talk about this. Okay, so I'm not worried. Me either. Rascal Flatts, Gary LaVox is going viral. The lead singer of Rascal Flatts. For one of his performances, someone like filmed him and posted it and they said he was like hooting and hollering. Has anybody been to Rascal Flatts concert recently? Because he's just up there hooting and hollering. And he was like off key and all over the place and it was a mess. I watched the videos and I can confirm it was messy. however like I give him grace there's no question there's no doubt that he is the most talented vocalist if something happened that night to throw him off whether it was the drink whether it was the audio Alex Warren style like that's not Gary so it's annoying that like Gary's bad night gets so much PR when like Gary has night after night Margot just went like he crushes it every single time.
14:24Now we are going. It's so true. That's such a negative society we live in. I know. They get no positive accolades. Yeah. For what he does night after night. And he slays. And the one time he's, I can't even say what was happening. Yeah, he was just, the thing is, he's been singing these songs for 30 years. Like, sorry he tried something different. Like, don't make fun of the girl who took a chance. You know? Like, he always riffs and he's like, and it's part delicious. He was challenging himself creatively. He was just off. I think he couldn't hear or he was drunk. Let's just say. And you know what?
14:55Like you would do it too if you're touring with the same band and singing the same song for like 50 years. If my life was listening to Rascal Flatts like all day, every day. I don't know if you would feel that way if you were Rascal Flatts though. That must be how people feel maybe about the toast. No, no, no, no. Don't make Rascal's problem a problem. No, no. If people like.
15:16I am to Rascal Flatts what the toasters are to the toast. Yeah. It's called a fan.
15:24I feel like you didn't understand what I was saying. I just do, while we're on the topic, I have two requests for Rascal Flats and I do know that people in the Rascal Flats orbit like listens to this show. So we are coming to the show and I need you to do two things for me. We're coming to the show. We don't need our tickets yet. Oh yeah. Come in please. Oh, sorry. I need you to do three things for me. I need tickets. And we want, we want, we want, we want front row tickets. The thing is we want front row tickets and we're a big group. That's the problem. Yeah, we need 10 front row tickets. And like, there's not 10 empty seats right now.
15:49It's kind of like the age old question. like we should leave the husbands at home except that it's Valentine's Day. Yeah. So yeah. No. And I turned back into the biggest Rascal Flatts fan. He's not staying home. Ben could stay home. Honestly, he's like, I'll go like for you. But OK, so I need three things. I need 10 tickets. I need you to add one song to your set list, just like a special one night only how they remember you. That is my favorite Rascal Flatts song. So if you guys could do that, that'd be great. And then third, this is just like a general overall thing that Gary does. I really need him to stop doing it.
16:16I watch every video. Every time I get Rascal Flatts live performance comes up on my TikTok, like I'm sad. and he does this thing that a lot of performers do and it is my biggest pet peeve. Like when you get to the best part of the song, like don't give us the microphone. Keep it to yourself. Like life is a... Stop. It's so annoying. Like the best parts of the song you don't hear because like the crowd is singing it. Please. I really don't like that, Gary. Please stop doing that. And I will just take whatever show that you have to give me. Even if it is a bunch of hooting and hollering. Even if it is.
16:43I wouldn't even realize. I wouldn't realize either. You're in the presence of greatness. Like that fucking ingrate who exposed him. Oh yeah. Well, she's on a real flatista. Oh, yeah. What's her name? I don't know. The Little Rascals? The Little Rascals. Yeah. The Rascalitas. I like Rascalitas. Me too. Okay. Rascalitas Flatistas. Flatistas. Well, that's going to be fun. Oh, we're called. I know what we're called. Sorry. We're Flat Earthers. Okay.
17:12The Flats. What if they rebranded? The Flats. I like it. That is a cute name. I mean, their name is everything. Yeah. So they can't. But it's like how Lady Antebellum became Lady A. Yeah. Prosko Flats become. No, the Dixie Chicks became the Chicks. That's really more. Oh, yeah. Thanks. Yeah. Yeah. Once again, like destroying all my calls. No. But I also remembered another call that I made. Not the one that we remember. Because those two people like from our personal life that you guys wouldn't even care. But I was thinking of another call. It wasn't Hannibal and Justin Rose? Oh, because I was watching Shark Tank last night.
17:47Robert Herjavec is the judge equivalent to Derek Hough for you. It's You liked it when I made it. You said that to me already? Yeah. No you didn't. That's the first time I'm hearing this. When we were recapping Dancing with the Stars and I was like I liked Eric and you're like yeah and I was like I feel like for you he's like the Robert Herjavec of Dancing with the Stars. Oh okay then did I like it then? Yeah you loved it. Okay so good call. Good call. I ate with that. Things you did? That. Let's get into the stories. There's a lot of stories today for Tuesday. Yes, and we have deer toasters, so we have lots to do.

Our first story is some really crazy news. Yes. The search for Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, is a race against time, says the sheriff. So Savannah Guthrie's mother has been missing for 48 hours. She was last seen Saturday night, right? Yeah, she was last seen Saturday night. She was reported missing Sunday morning when she didn't show up to church.
23:17And now it is a missing persons investigation. The investigators have said that they believe that she was abducted from her home, that there was a fight. She did not leave. There was blood. The house is now a crime scene. The house is a crime scene. They believe she did not leave willingly. Right. I think a lot of times when an elderly person disappears, they'll like chalk it up to, you know, cognitive issues. You know, people who are elderly are often found like wandering. but it was very clear from the beginning like no she was like snatched yeah and like I was talking about this with somebody yesterday I was like so was she like kidnapped and you don't ever really use the word kidnap for an old did right because this just like doesn't happen it's so evil yeah it's a really crazy upsetting story and she also has health issues so she takes a daily medication that if she doesn't take could be fatal for her right so it's like very high stakes yeah Savannah Guthrie posted on Instagram this morning, like, please send prayers.
24:14I think she was supposed to head to the Olympics in Milan. She's obviously not going. What a weird, spooky story. Yeah. And a nightmare. A nightmare. Yeah. So more like there's not a lot of details that have come out. But I think also like the police department don't want to share. So if they have a suspect in mind, they don't want to let them know like what we know. Like what sort of enemies does an old lady who goes to church have? She was a Saturday night with her kids. Sunday morning church. She was playing Mahjong Saturday night. You're kidding. I just saw that in the Daily Mail. Like, couldn't have been more wholesome.
24:42Who is targeting this woman? I don't know. Like, seriously? It's the craziest story. She lived in a very affluent community where there should be, like, security cameras. We've not seen any security footage. I mean, I heard that her home did not have a lot of security, except there were a couple of cameras outside that they're working on getting access to. Yeah. It wasn't a hot, you know, hot-wired, secure. But, like, the front door was unlocked, but there was, like, signs of fourth century. All the common areas, lights were left on. So it's a confusing situation. No one knows what happened. So sad.
25:12Yeah. I think every person's worst nightmare. Yeah. I hope that they get some answers soon. No, I hope she's okay. Yeah. What the fuck? I don't know. So what a crazy... Crazy story. Yeah. Praying for her. Yeah. Praying for her. Our next story, some talk show news. Oh, my God. Kelly Clarkson confirms that her talk show will end after seven years. Seven seasons. She said this is not an easy decision. So Kelly posted yesterday, I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, the Kelly Clarkson show, both in LA and New York. There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.
25:53I am very grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans. Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision, but this season will be my last. Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives. This isn't goodbye. I'll still be making music, playing shows here and there. That sounds like, I didn't think that you wouldn't be. Oh, I thought that the here and there was like, don't get too excited.
26:22And you may catch me on The Voice from time to time. You never know where I might show up next. It's giving, I just think like, she didn't have to do this forever. So if she's closing this chapter, like, of course you go back to music, you go back to everything else you were doing. but like the fact that she's reassuring us that she'll be making music and performing here and there. Right. So I think given everything that Kelly has been through like it's not shocking at all that her show is coming to an end. She should prioritize what she wants to prioritize. However I feel like this is just based off of a feeling like no proof that she's kind of been over it for for some time and like she's ending it more so because of that.
26:53Like if she really loved it and wanted to keep going like you know you can find a way to balance family and everything. I just feel like it was time for her in addition to all the things that she's been through. Yeah. I don't know that she's over it, but I think a job like that, you have to give so much of yourself and it's very like depleting on like your battery. And I think she wants to give all of that at home and not have to show up every day like when you're not feeling that way every day. It's also an amazing way to go out. Like I think you even she's, you know, the biggest and baddest in daytime, but like that might not have been the case forever.
27:29And there's nothing worse than like ending your show because like the ratings stink. Like to go out on top after seven very successful seasons. And we are getting one more season, which means we'll probably get like a fabulous final season with lots of like Kelly content. It's good. I'm not displeased. And I do feel like while I love the Kelly Clarkson show and I love what it's done for her, I feel like Kelly Ogi was huge for her. Q score rating amongst a new generation of listeners. I wasn't like watching it a lot. Like I do. I'd rather her go on tour. I'd rather get music from her. I agree. Yeah, I do feel like it hindered her other projects.
28:00And so there was a time and space for it. But I'm kind of thrilled that we're going to go back to the OG Kelly. But I don't know why she said it like that, playing shows here and there. Unless that was meant to be an Easter egg for something. No, I feel like she's really not going to be doing a lot after this. It's easy to release music. It's easy to go on The Voice. You stay in one place. But to tour, especially if she really is prioritizing family, being like, yeah, I'll release new music. But don't expect me to go on a 50-city tour. That's fine by me. Just New York. Or like Vegas. Yeah, destination.
28:32Yeah, we'll travel. We'll travel for Kelly. She's on the short list of people I'll travel for. Oh, who's on the list? Brasco Flats. Of course. Kelly Clarkson. I would travel for Luke. Would you travel for Taylor? No. Bruno Mars. But like, I think that's it. You said it was a short list. Yeah. Four. Four. That's a good list. Yeah. What about you? I would travel for, I mean, I have traveled for Luke. I have traveled for Taylor.
29:10I have traveled for Rascal. I'm aligned. Like once in life, like shows that like. I would travel for One Republic. Ooh. Did we see them? We did. We traveled to New Jersey. We traveled to New Jersey. That's not really travel. and I would also travel for the Goo Goo Dolls. I've seen them. Me too. Beautiful. Like genuinely amazing performers. Ecstasy is all you need living in the big machine now. I don't know what the hell they're saying in any of their songs. Now your world is way too fast and nothing's real and nothing lasts. We're all alive. Like I don't even know what the hell he's saying. you know charlie pooth was on um this rolling stone podcast and i don't know why i saw so many clips of it um maybe because the person asking questions like was actually asking good questions and charlie was actually giving insightful answers and he is really widely regarded charlie pooth is a charlie i didn't realize charlie pooth was a charlie either you know i love a charlie i do know that i love a charlie i've actually been loving charlie pooth more you know good namesake for your son yeah i love that and i'm excited for his national anthem coming up yes well charlie pooth was asked because he is widely regarded as one of like the greatest songwriters charlie that too actually no he doesn't even compare to our charlie one of the greatest songwriters of our generation and he was like what do you think are like five of the best written most perfect songs and he said a couple i don't remember but i was struck that he said iris by the goo goo dolls like that's someone who knows real music yeah yeah yeah I want to know the other ones I'll find it he really does know real music yes and he knows like what a song is written well he should do a master class on songwriting like that's he should skill I don't know that he's like always the best celebrity you know people like to clown on him uh-huh okay maybe Taylor was really like being earnest when she said he was underrated I do think she was being earnest like his musical capabilities are so impressive but he's not the biggest star yeah that he's not meant for like stardom um m &m's real slim shady notorious it was very all over notorious big juicy okay
31:39they're making me watch the clip like i seriously can't i guess we're watching the clip oh okay
31:47chardley chardley pooth
31:54i've read his songs ever written and recorded you see by notorious big don't want to miss a thing by arrowsmith and by diane warren i think raindrops keep falling on my head by burt backerack wow i'm just taking a second because i know the internet lives forever i think uh when i heard the real slim shady is by dr dre the snare drum blew me away on that and probably iris by the google dolls wow it's so subjective and i'm sure i didn't even mention a james taylor song so if i were to do an honorary mention i'd say something in the way she moves okay okay charlie yeah no like killer swift was onto something you know i I agree.
32:40Yeah. He's a cutie. Yeah, he is. Oh, are we talking about the Charlie XCX Smart List thing? We are. Okay. Do you want to do that next? I do because I have thoughts and I think it's funny. So Smart List is getting canceled. Smart List is over party. And it's shockingly not by us. And I'm actually kind of going to defend Smart List really quickly. No, they're not. They're just getting a little bit of backlash. Jason Bateman specifically after pressing Charlie XCX on why she doesn't want to have children. So I heard like a transcription of the, you know, I've read some comments. people being like, Claudia never lets Jackie finish the story.
33:11And you know what? Like, sorry. Okay. Yeah. Let me just give the other people like the information if they, if they're not as online as us. And this is me taking constructive criticism. Like I agree with you guys, but don't get like ahead of yourselves. That's all. That's all the constructive criticism I'll take for the year. Charlie XCX went on SmartList as one does. And at one point they're talking about Charlie growing up as an only child. And Jason then asks her if that influences how many kids she wants to have. Wondering if she wants to have more than one kid or maybe one who has the same sort of experience that she did.
33:38In response, she said, I actually don't want to have kids. Sean chimed in immediately to ask her, you don't? Wait, why? Though a few seconds later, he followed up with, it's none of my business. It's so PC. Then Charlie responded thoughtfully, saying she likes the, quote, fantasy of having a child, like naming it. It sounds so fun, but like that is exactly a sign to me why I should not have one. The fact that that feels like the coolest part about it and like maybe I'm not ready, you know? However, from there, things got awkward as Jason started telling a story about his own wife. Amanda supposedly so turdy coated by telling his own story.
34:10He didn't want children before she met him. And now they have two daughters. He suggests that she might find somebody who will change her mind, too. To which she replied, well, I'm married. He then joked that he needed to read a newspaper. And then he followed up with another joke saying that maybe she'll want a kid with her next husband. Yeah. OK, so I read like a transcription or like someone paraphrasing it. And I was like, yikes, I listened to it. And it actually wasn't that bad. I feel like she's not easily offended. And it was like a very honest conversation. Like I actually really liked her take being like the thing that excites me most about having babies being able to name it.
34:42Like I feel like that's a good indicator that maybe I'm not like like I shouldn't have kids. And like I thought the whole conversation like sounded worse than it was. And yes, like at a glance, like three men pestering a woman why she doesn't want to have kids. Sure. But like, I don't know. I thought it was a funny thing. I did not think it was weird. And I didn't think she was offended either. Yeah. And isn't the whole concept of smart lists, I've quite literally never heard an episode, that one of them chooses a guest and surprises the other. So like Jason should, it's like, well, Jason should have done his research.
35:13Isn't that the whole thing? The whole point. Yeah. Right. Do they still do that? I think so. That's what they did in the documentary. And that's as far as my smart list knowledge goes. But also like, this is just conversation, you know, and it's meant to be like deep. And those are big questions to ask. And if she, certainly because she wasn't offended, I don't think anybody should be offended. And if she was, I do think they would have probably cut it out. Although there is a part where I feel like they edited it. You can hear like a little cut. Oh, interesting. But I don't know. I just, you can't like walk on eggshells.
35:42Like, and it's a fair, like if you're talking about how you grew up. Oh, and the other thing. Like those are normal. If you're too scared to ask a question, like seriously, what's the point? I completely agree. And I think the context of what they were talking about before was also left out when this thing went viral. Because it is important. She was talking about being an only child. Yeah. And I feel like a good question to ask an only child is like, is that what you want for your kids? Or do you want like that experience and you want to like people ask us that coming from a big family all the time?
36:07Like I was talking about that. It's called making fucking conversation with Josh Peck. He was an only child. And now he has a huge family. Like we talked about on the podcast. So I don't think it's a weird question. I don't think she was offended by it at all. I think like keyboard warriors are. And like don't ever put me in a position where I have to defend smartless again. Okay. Yeah. And Charlie XCX. Because there are like things that canceled. Smartless should be canceled for. and this ain't it. Yeah. Being on top of the charts above us all the time, like that's a cancelable offense. It's disgusting.
36:35They're keeping women down. Silencing women. They're silencing women. And I'm defending Charlie XTX too. You see how I did that? I see how you did that. So don't say that I didn't. Nobody said that. Nobody would ever say that. It's just like such a silly story and people are really reaching. I agree. Although I am excited. Like I don't know what, I don't know that these three know what it's like to like have the internet at their arse. But I don't really think this is going to reach a level that will even reach them in any meaningful way like this is not serious no even though just Jared wrote it up but I do think that like men podcasters have this a lot less than female podcasters like the accountability police is just a it's definitely a women's issue so nobody really cares like when a man says something on his podcast but I also feel like and I've not listened to an episode so this is just me taking a shot in the dark I feel like smart list doesn't really go there like i don't feel like they're having like interesting controversial conversations yeah no it's like armchair expert is always going there yeah armchair expert goes there he gets a lot of uh they're the elk of podcasters yeah i don't know what smart list is doing over there but like i just feel like people seem to really like it yeah yeah no they do and so something right not every podcast has to be sorry to say it again ratata controversial like i'm saying hottest tape yeah yeah or like so thought-provoking sometimes people just want to like commute home and like get a little chuckle.
37:57The toast. But the thing about, we go there, we do it all. We are so dynamic. Do the chuckle. Oh no, we're going at a glance. Oh no. Everyone zoom out. But we do go there. Like we're actually extremely substantial when we want to be. I feel like I go through eras where like, I'm so serious about stuff. And then some eras where I'm like, you guys, it's not that serious. We're just living. Yeah. Um, that's why like the toast is without peer i would say we are because we do a little bit of all of it they're smartless we're peerless a spin-off show peerless if we ever got acquired by smartless it would be a smartless presents peerless the eternity for maternity collection
38:47obsessed are you ready for our fourth story yeah it's some really beautiful news eddie murphy's son eric and martin lawrence's daughter jasmine are expecting their first baby together less than a year after tying the knot so in case you didn't know eddie murphy's son and martin lawrence's daughter are married i had no idea now they're having that should have been in his documentary because i like fun fact about me is that i know a lot of stuff about eddie ever since I watched his documentary I made it my whole personality and I feel like that's when he was doing like that 20 minute bit at the end about his dumb ass puppets I feel like that would have been a good time to let us know this yeah I feel like I forgot this but maybe at one point I knew it okay because it didn't seem like totally random and now they're having a baby that's really nice a lot of pressure for the baby to be to be so funny yeah he's like so serious yeah but it's really cute it is really cute I can only imagine what like the bris or whatever baby shower is going to be like yeah funny funny funny funny yeah I love Eddie Murphy I know because I watched this documentary I don't know if I mentioned that you guys and you liked it I never watched it yet what did I watch last night I watched American Idol oh I we almost watched American Idol but then there was a shark tank and you know Zach loves Shark Tank well I was watching Jeopardy um in case anyone's wondering I'd be Ben um and then And it was on after.
40:08I was like, sure, why not? And it's the auditions, which is my favorite part. After the auditions, I don't really feel like I need to watch. I feel the same way about The Voice. It's just such a good show. How is Carrie on the way? I feel like they need a shakeup. Wait, I think this is her first season. It's not her first season. It's like her second or third. And I wasn't just referring to her. Like, in general, it feels a little stale. I think it's because, you know, Lionel and Luke Bryan have been there for many years. And then it's like a new pop star. It was Katy Perry. And so it's just kind of formulaic at this point.
40:37and I am like a little bit over it as somebody who tuned in once. They should bring back Simon, Paula, Randy. They should bring back Simon. What's old is new again. I don't feel like as a country we've ever been in a better place than we were when those three were running that table like a factory. Yeah. They each knew their roles. Paula was like the fun pop star. Randy was like just sort of the very affable relatable one and then Simon was the one who like could really speak the truth the truth teller hey baby you got to remember I'm forever you girl so I've actually never heard a Paula Abdul song have you like I know that she is this prolific pop star whose music has quite literally never once touched me in any meaningful way was that Paula Abdul so if you were to say to me before like two weeks ago name a Paula Abdul song i couldn't then i watched people we meet on vacation and there's like a whole scene and it's become like if you talk about the movie on tiktok like you have to use that song i'm forever your girl it's paula abdul it's crazy that she got that job i think if you knew paula abdul and her work you wouldn't think that it was crazy really yeah she was a very meaningful she was did you see the trailer for the michael jackson documentary so they're doing the bohemian rhapsody elton john treatment to Michael Jackson.
42:00I'm wondering if they'll talk about the molestation. I'm wondering if they will touch on it. The molestation was not in the trailer. No, it wasn't. But that's okay. A lot of like family drama. And it's I think considered like people are really excited about it because well, who could play Michael the greatest, you know, singer dancer of our time? Well, what if his descendants actually Jafar will be playing Michael? I don't know if I'm gonna watch it because like one thing about me, I actually do think he molested those kids. That's just like a crazy thing about me so too and that documentary was very compelling oh my god that hbmx documentary was insane um i just believe it and even if like i didn't watch a documentary like the whole thing of him like you know having the ranch where kids would come like it's just weird so just i'm like not a fan of like the erasure of the molestation personally and i feel like there have been like the mj hologram and the broadway show they're always doing things about his life where they're just very conveniently leaving out the whole you know no when i think i think what people say and they sort of try to make sense of it like by saying that he was like stunted as a child and like yeah as a child star and probably like he never psychologically like never and so are you going to show us that in the documentary is it all going to be like ba-da-ba-ba-ba ba-da-ba-ba-da What song are you singing?
43:21Oh, Jackson 5. That is the best song. What else did I mean? Jackson 5. I thought you were going to sing a Michael Jackson song. Oh no, I was going to sing a Jackson 5 song because the documentary seemed very Jackson 5 heavy. I wonder if the documentary, and by documentary of course it would be biopic, if the biopic will cover the influence 13 going on 30 had on Michael Jackson's career. I don't know that he did he live to see that I actually think he did thank God that he lived to see that honestly I'm glad I lived to see that so I feel like the biopic will be very surface I just want to quickly go back if I were to ever do a Rolling Stone interview and they would say what are the five greatest songs ever written I'd really have to think about it but I do think that Jackson 5 song is up there it's like the best song and that's why I like would buy I don't even know what song you're singing when you sing that Da, da, da, da.
44:09Oh, no, right. I like the Cimarelli version. Na, na, na. I'm a four E except after C. Na, two plus two, legs small. Na, na, na. I'm going to teach you how to get an A. You're supposed to be right back to my background. I'm going to teach you, teach you, teach you. All about love, dear. Sit yourself down and take a seat. All you got to do is repeat. Like that is, Charlie Puth should have said that. And we're learning. I'll tell you a story me A, B, C 1, 2, 3 Baby, you and me Oh, you're gonna do it How to sing it out Come on, come on, come on Let me show you what it's all about Read it I literally know all the words to that song because of Cimarelli That's funny Do you know what I'm talking about?
44:51You know, it's a good kid song, too Of course Like, when Ruby starts going to school you know I'm gonna be popping that thang A lot of good, like Jackson 5 Like, Rockin' Robin Oh, yeah They kind of, like, made music for kids Yeah I guess because they were kids That's a good call. So yeah, Curious at the Little Station, of course. I feel like they won't even go there. I know. And then is it really a biopic? No. And do you want to see that in your movie musical? So like that's why I think I'll skip the movie. Yeah, but Miles Teller's in it. Oh my God, I was shocked when Miles Teller showed up in the documentary in a wig.
45:28Like I was shook. Anybody else? Yeah. except then I remembered the funny story that um when it was like rumored who they were casting for the movie there was a rumor that Miles Teller was playing Michael Jackson and he had to like come out and be like you guys I'm not because there was like backlash rightfully so like why would Miles Teller even though he really can dance yeah he's a great actor
46:05You know what song I really like, actually? But I prefer the Glee version, of course. I'm starting with the man in the mirror Oh yeah And he really should have started with the man in the mirror That Michael Change starts from within Yeah No mess Oh no that's George Michael in that song I like that other one Oh you know what I love Sometimes the clothes do not make the man all be had I love that song Me too Michael Jack bringing it back Yeah Black and white Sing it it don't matter if you're black or white do do do do do you know what i met my baby on a sat maybe we should watch it i was i say i think i have to see the movie no like because i can hold space for two things like that music is really good it's really wow he's really good it's excellent i think we have to see the movie it's been a while since we've gotten like a a swirly biopic you know not something like that's like not fun like bohemian rhapsody and Elton like they were like about the music very showman like yeah okay let's do it yeah are you ready for our fifth and final story and a miracle has happened tonight you know what we can also watch the Glee episode of Michael Jackson they did like a themed episode and is he fat bottom girls no that's Queen I like that song I love that song and the way like I only know it from Glee Glee doesn't get enough respect for like introducing my generation I know so much older music exclusively because of Glee.
47:42I know so much Queen. Yeah, I think it's going to be like a Queenie Michael Jackson ride home today. Yeah, for sure. Glee version. I only know like Bohemian Rhapsody because of Glee. It was when Quinn gave birth in the first season. And so it's like, and she's pushing and then they go back, they're at quarterfinals or whatever. Such a good episode. Fifth and final story. 52:23Thank you, Tert. My pleasure. Our fifth and final story, Whitney Liavit debuted on Broadway in Chicago. Her first performance as Roxy has been shared online and Whitney's doing her thing. Yes, I saw it. I think a lot of people were very curious. We've never heard her sing. So obviously when you go to Broadway, singing is kind of a big part of that. She's been posting a lot of videos of her practicing, but like none of her singing. So it was just sort of this like... Oh, was everyone like waiting? Yes, yes. What's the voice? and she would like post videos being like, okay, everybody wants me to sing and then like there would be like a car crash or whatever.
52:56Like she couldn't, she was like kind of playing with people and she could sing. She definitely can sing. She looked like she crushed it. I saw a couple of clips. Obviously I haven't seen the show. All the girlies were in attendance and I was reading a lot of comments, people being like, well, you know, now she's on Broadway. She's a big star. Of course, all the haters, Michaela, because everyone was really tough on her. The most recent season that we saw and then she had kind of a banner a year. Yeah. Stars, you know, became this huge cultural thing. Now she's on Broadway And so, of course, it looks like all the girls come running back.
53:23I was proud to say I did not pile on Whitney this season. I felt like the girls really did her wrong. It was sort of painful to watch at times, like how poorly she was being treated. And so I don't, this isn't like a Whitney comeback for me because I've sort of been here. And like now I think a lot of people are like, well, like Dancing with the Stars, like we were there before, you know. Oh, yeah. We've supported her the whole time and we thought that she should win. but all of it led her to this even not winning I feel like maybe if she won maybe it would have been different who knows if she would have gotten this role she wouldn't she be on the tour or something like this was what was meant for her it's crazy how much like she's changed in the last year and how much like my perception of her change like when I watch her on the show it feels like I'm watching a completely different person now also Mark Ballas I feel that way about well traitors has not been good for mark ballast i believe not been kind jackie sent me a funny text she was like what did you say like about how he's i didn't know anything about him like when i watched dancing with the stars and when i saw him on dancing the stars like i i was a little intimidated by him like i just felt like he's like very cool and very serious and he's one of like the most you know decorated champions and he's like one of the most popular ones and he's so a part of dancing with the stars lore and history in a positive way yeah and i felt like maybe i don't know all the drama that surrounded them like i don't know i just like i felt he was like very intimidating almost like ethereal yeah and then like traitors like i said has not been good right i was like oh he's not that no and he's just like one of colton's cronies yeah it's giving follower on traitors which is never a good thing yeah but back to whitney very excited for her yeah i feel like the next season of secret lives that comes out will be like when the girls are doing dancing with the stars yeah it'll be a little delayed and we'll see how supportive they are of her in that moment if they were there for her then then it's okay that they're here for her now but i didn't see jen i saw michaela i saw jesse i think i saw macy taylor taylor i did not see me what to me no i didn't see her but like i don't think that means anything yeah i think they are friends yeah um no i didn't see jen so we'll see how they treat her on this previous season but yeah now she's like larger than life i wonder like not to like you know put pressure on her but Like, what do you do after this?
55:40Do you go back to Utah? Yes. I really hope she does not leave the show. I think it's like, I think that happens a lot. Rejah Jean-Paul. Like, don't leave the thing. Because it's still a huge show. Yeah. Do not leave. I don't think it would be good for her. Like, if, I would actually think that's a huge mistake. Yeah. If Taylor Frankie Paul is not leaving, nobody should be. Yeah. Even though, do you feel like Whitney, who do you think is the most famous? From the show? I feel like it's Whitney now. Today, it's Whitney. When Taylor's season of The Bachelorette comes out, it will be Taylor. Yeah, because it's always just sort of in this undisputed thing.
56:14Taylor is the leader of MomTalk because she started it, but also because she is the most famous. I think she's had the most followers. Yeah. How many followers does Whitney have now compared to Taylor? Are we talking exclusively on TikTok? I want to do TikTok. I'll go to Instagram. You go to TikTok. Okay. Taylor Frankie Paul has 6 million followers. That's a ton. Whitney Layovit has oh 3.4 it's like not even a question Taylor has 2.2 on Instagram and Whitney Layovit has 1.5 so she's creeping up and I do feel like their Instagram how many does Taylor have on Instagram 2.2 oh she's creeping up yeah like I feel like Taylor got a lot of followers on TikTok like from mom talk but now they're all sort of like settled yeah yeah Instagram is I feel a more realistic.
57:01Yeah, it's like more like from the show. Yeah. So yeah, definitely neck and neck. But I do still think Taylor's the leader of MomTalk no matter how big Whitney is because Whitney's like doing things outside of MomTalk. Outside of Utah. Taylor's always been doing everything like in service of MomTalk. MomTalk. Yeah. Yeah, very exciting for Miss Leavitt. Oh girl. Let's dive into Dear Toasters, our weekly advice segment every Tuesday. Jackie and I host a segment called Dear Toasters where our toasters can write in if they're in need whether they're going through issues at work, at home, in their relationship with a friend, in a wedding party, email us, deartosters at gmail.com, or head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com.
57:36Scroll down, there's a little box that says Deartosters. Both methods of submission are equal opportunity, and they are both completely anonymous, so you never have to worry about that. Are you ready? Mm-hmm. Okay. Deartosters. After my husband's mom died three years ago, we had to take in her cat, or she was going to be put in a shelter. I love animals, but this cat is the worst. She attacks my other cat. She pees in places out of spite. She scratches like ruins my doors and walls. I have a black lab, a dog who's terrified of her. I'm seven months pregnant with my first child. Is it wrong of me to want to get rid of my husband's dead mother's cat?
58:10No. And I would have said this even before you said you were pregnant. But now that you're pregnant, it's sort of like what you say goes. And I'm sorry to your husband, but his mom's cat has to go. No. And like you can't have like a wild feral animal around when you have a baby. I've also heard that like cats can be unsafe during pregnancy because they carry some germs that are like not safe for the pregnancy. Yeah, but she has another cat that she loves. So she shouldn't bring that up. Okay. Okay. Because then it's like, all right, well, we'll have to get rid of both cats. Yeah. Yeah. I would definitely seek out a family member on your husband's side.
58:42Like worst case, like you don't want to give him in a shelter. So like I would really work to find, and of course this is your husband's problem, not yours, finding a safe home for him. Rehoming and during pregnancy and early childhood years happens a lot. You're not a bad person because of it. Jennifer Lawrence did it. And this isn't even your cat. So definitely, definitely get rid of that cat. Yeah. You can't have a wild animal around with a baby. Yeah. And I also feel like its spirit feels cursed, you know, and you want to, you're in your nesting phase. Yeah. You want to sage the home, positive, clean energy.
59:16And it doesn't sound like this cat is providing that. No. And so when it comes to bringing it up, like, just say it. Like you don't even have to cushion it. Like you're not even being remotely unreasonable. No. And like you're not this. This isn't like a democracy. You know, this is a pregnancy. This is happening. Yeah. Right. Get on board. Yeah. Start making arrangements. Yeah. All right. Next up. That was easy. Hey, swirlies. I went to the dentist recently and I was seen by a new dentist. I couldn't help but notice this man was extremely attractive and he seemed to be around my age. I am typically shy.
59:49I do not like going out of my way to express things like this or make the first move. So how do I go about seeing if he's interested in me? Should I follow him on Instagram? Is it weird if I have my roommate DM him for me in case it goes poorly? Because I still want to go to the dentist. He's also private on Instagram, so I don't know if he has a girlfriend. Sincerely, a shy toaster. I feel like you've written into the wrong show. We are two married ladies. No, no, like I don't know how to help you because I'm always about putting yourself out there. You know, there is a time and a place, but like I don't know why this feels like a hard one.
1:00:21Well, it is a little radical just in terms of like, you know, nothing about him. Like we do before you make any sort of contact, you absolutely have to find out if he's married because don't waste your time then. And I think there are ways to just Google it. Google his name and registry and see if there's like a registry come up. Like there's a million ways. Find a mutual friend. Check Facebook. Like there are ways. You have to do that first. But I do love your approach to like you can't just sit around and wait for life to happen for you, especially in this day and age. I feel like, you know, I'm always quoting Scott Galloway.
1:00:49He talks about how men as a gender are deteriorating. They're less and less viable. And they're certainly not asking women out. It's just not happening. I don't know how people are meeting people, but it's not in the way that they once were. And I think a lot of women are kind of forced to take matters into their own hands. And I do think that's what's happening to you here. And so I want to support you. So I'm trying to give sort of tactical advice. You have to find out. You have to find out. I think also he, even if he thought you were cute, I don't think he could make the first move because that's probably a violation.
1:01:17I think DMing with a friend no no agreed no I think you kind of have to put your cards on the table and be willing to change dentists of course it's not that hard dentists are like it's not like he's a neurosurgeon like dentists are there's one on every block you could find another dentist not to say that dentists aren't smart that's not what I was saying but I do think you need to be more specific when looking for a neurosurgeon versus a dentist I'm thinking of what I'm going to say next and I think you've like stepped in some shit because that's not what I was saying like obviously you go to dental school like you're really smart oh I hear you like but it doesn't sound like you have crazy dental problems back to the conversation and you have to apologize for my life over here I just didn't want to insult dentists like I think it doesn't sound like you're in a complicated dental history so if you need to find a new dentist it's like not a big deal okay okay it's not a big deal so like you need to be willing to lose your dentist yes you do and instead it's a new dentist what you've known him for five minutes and you're married him as a dentist like it's fine yeah it is fine and so i think you do have to just like sort of disassociate and you said you're shy like put on the out like a confident person outerwear and like go up to me like at the next appointment at the next appointment be like by your final appointment are you seeing anyone and see what he says yeah like i would love to grab a drink sometime and like even though that's like not me and it's not you either because that was really good though not right i just like i'm in a costume of confidence wait for the appointment to be borderline over like his wrapping up um but is there like a hygienist in the room they're always ruining the vibes like no not to say that dental hygienist you know you're not allowing him to get in line everyone wants hot dentist but will everyone do it i not everyone has what it takes in that moment you have to be prepared you have to have your next dentist lined up yeah and you have instead of asking your friend to dm him ask your friend who her dentist is yeah you have to just pretend you're someone else yeah and say like hey we want to grab you You need to be kind of crazy.
1:03:13Yeah. And the crazy bird gets the worm. We're at an inflection point. You have nothing to lose except a good dentist. In culture, we're at an inflection point, like in hetero. Normative? Hetero relationships where like men are not asking women out. Like men are not leaving the house. Like they are these sort of like crazy creatures. We should have Scott Galloway on the podcast. I actually would love to. Great. And I didn't know he taught at NYU. We should do that to express with him. Kind of how we did like that episode with Chelsea Handler. And like we were like people, the ones we chose were like very specific to Chelsea.
1:03:46We need to write in about like men who are suffering, like and how the wives can help them. And maybe we can get it sponsored by State Farm and it can be called Dear Farmer with Scott Galloway. Okay. Or we just have our loyal sponsors and not, you know, not yearn for the ones who left us. Pine for State Farm. Yeah. I don't. I mean, State Farm is great. Come back anytime. I pine for Dear Farmer. Yeah, I know you do. But I just feel like there are. What about Farmer's Insurance? Farmer's insurance. Are they not owned by State Farm? Don't you feel like that's a weird coincidence? Like. Yeah, they kind of like appropriating the farm.
1:04:18Yeah, it's like a cheater rant. No, but like farmer's insurance is insurance for farmers. No, it's not.
1:04:27It's just insurance. Are you sure? I'm not. And like that would make sense, but I'm almost 100 percent. And then it's like, what does State Farm know about farm? Do you even know ball? As the children say. Is farmer's insurance only insurance for farmers? Question mark. Not only, but like mostly. No. Despite the name, it's a large insurance company that sells policies to all kinds of customers. Auto insurance, home insurance, renters, life, business insurance, umbrella liability, motorcycle RV. Okay. So they can do to your farmer. Yeah. How did we get here? Oh, so yeah. You have to be prepared to find another dentist and you have to the next time the appointment, like find the right time, wait for the appointment to be over because if he says, oh, and you also have to find out if he's married or has a girlfriend because then seriously, Yeah, and I just feel like he does.
1:05:10Do you know what I mean? I feel like dentists are usually spoken for. Well, also, like, dentists, like, would be wearing rings, right? I don't know why they're going to bring their ring into your mouth. Yeah, and a ring is really dirty. I actually hope my dentist is not wearing a ring. No, and he'd wear a glove. Oh, yeah. Glove. Yeah, no glove, no love. I think, yeah, you know what? Someone's going to get this dentist, and why not you? No, I love your brazen approach, especially you sound like somebody who doesn't do this a lot. Oh, she became unbrazen when she started talking about Instagram DMs.
1:05:38Oh, that's when I was like, you're not cut out for this. Of all the things you wrote in, that is definitely the worst idea. Like, do not do that. Don't bring any part of Instagram into this. Agreed. Unless it's like stalking. Yeah, unless you make a fence. I don't even think your friend should follow him to find out. Go to his website. Like, when they say, like, about us, he'll have a picture. If he has a wife and kids, the picture will be there. Yeah. And if your friend, like, follows him to find out, he might think the friend's cute. Oh, yeah. Only your ugly friends. Yeah. Okay, are you ready for your third and final?
1:06:08Mm-hmm. Hey, Jackson Turd, how you doing? Do I have to tell my boyfriend that I'm on Ozempic? I've always been an athlete. I'm into working out. I just need a little help to get rid of some stubborn weight. I'm hesitant to tell him because he and his family are very holistic when it comes to health and wellness. The context is that we both live in the same city, but we do live separately, so I'm not worried about him seeing it in my fridge. We've been dating for almost two years, and the only person I've told is my best friend. Am I okay to keep this huge secret and not tell him that I'm on a medication?
1:06:31Or is it okay to live my girly, squirrely, skinny life in private? oh I'm like I've got angel and devil on my shoulder me too because my initial reaction is like live your life don't tell your life he's just the boyfriend do what you want I hate to be so extreme like break up with your boyfriend he's gay but if you can't tell your boyfriend like this thing that means like like that you want to do for your own reasons it doesn't affect him at all like I don't know it kind of sounds like he's like not a supportive boyfriend well no but he might be like holistic and like you just have a different you guys just disagree about and that's and that should still support that doesn't mean that you should break up but you also might not even want to go there and like have the talk about it and you're entitled to like your privacy your medical privacy you don't have to like tell someone everything however on the other side I'm like I want to know what medications my partner is on yeah I feel like that's a fair thing to know oh that's an interesting thing to say I think I agree I've never thought about it before because like Ben and I like you know we pee with the door open we're very right there's And that's your like, you would never not.
1:07:32He's your husband. I would want to know medications that my partner's on. I feel like that's a fair thing to know. But I also feel like, you know, your body, your choice. I'm fine with her doing it, but I don't. I feel like then not sharing it. That's a bad precedent. And also what? You're going to hide the thing in your fridge every time. And then what if he finds it? And it's not that you're taking those. And then you act like you're doing something wrong. You hid it from him. When you hide it, it's because you're doing something bad and you're not. Yeah. I actually think it might be a good test for your relationship.
1:08:01Like this is something you know he fundamentally disagrees with. Can he be supportive of something you want to do for yourself? And can you just like handle disagreement? I do think you should tell him for those reasons. I think so too. You don't want to have secrets between you. No, it's never good. And if it is a deal breaker for him for whatever reason, then the deal is broken. Yeah, and if he can't be supportive of something that he just doesn't agree with, but that's like, it's not like you're doing meth, right? Like it's just, it's a medicine a doctor would prescribe it. so if he can't be supportive of something that he might you know have a different value on and like that's not a good sign yeah not everything you're going to want to do he's going to agree with but he should support it yeah and i think i think if he is like a good guy and you guys are meant to be like i think you might be underestimating his capacity for change and open-mindedness not even change just like being understanding yeah you don't have to agree with everything your partner does and says but you do have to respect it and support it yeah but if he is so set in his ways to the point that like he could not support or be with you if you're on Ozempic then that's something you should know agreed it's kind of like a good test for your relationship two years in like yeah like that's a big disagreement to have it's not I don't think a deal breaker but you're allowed to have different philosophies on it yeah and I don't think you should keep secrets yeah like that because then it's like you're doing something wrong and you're not yeah and you don't want to feel like you're doing something wrong you don't want to feel like You're hiding something from him.
1:09:23And on his end, like, I think he has a right to know medications that his partner's on. I agree. At two years? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. At two years. You don't have to, like, lead with it on the first date. No, of course not. Well, that's our show. A great Tuesday. I've had a blast being with you singing, you know, Michael Jackson's Greatest Hits. Yeah. And I've had a blast with you guys, the toasters. Always showing up. We really appreciate it. Showing out. We appreciate it. cancel smart list thanks so much for listening to the toast cancel smart list stream peerless wherever you get your podcasts I'll leave you with that have a great day guys love ya bye
