In short
This episode of The Toast (May 21, 2026) is a mix of personal updates, book talk, and celebrity/influencer news. Topic: hosts discuss reading Strangers by Bell Burden (they say the marriage dissolves in the first minute; it starts “in the middle”), plus wellness for a thumb (they try a chiropractor/physical therapy), and a “socially weird” teeth-cleaning/tipping story. They also mark a major milestone: one-year-old Ruby’s first birthday and the emotional weight of the first year of motherhood.
Key claims
Strangers “grips you immediately” and is short; chiropractor won’t work “overnight” but thumb tingling improved; influencer Bethany Frankel makes 20+ million/year in brand deals; Kylie Jenner’s “daddy” comment on Timothy Chalamet’s Knicks-related TikTok was deleted, sparking debate about their privacy.
Notable examples
Kylie/Timothée privacy speculation; Aaron Rodgers retiring after 26 seasons (ending with the Steelers); Jessica Simpson explaining her kids sat apart on a Hawaii flight; Crocs and other sponsor segments.

We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to the toast and happy Thursday. Hope everybody's having an amazing day. Just seriously amazing. amazing day of Thursday speaking of amazing oh that's so sweet it's a girl who looks just amazing oh my gosh thank you what are you looking at nothing yes you did what'd you look at I literally did you looked at what my shoulder my shirt you don't like my shirt what'd you look at I didn't look at anything
0:45Kylie Jenner:yes you did I was really like focused on myself because I was like do I mention the fact that I'm wearing a bun two days in a row do I mention it or do I not you went like this if I looked at you like this what would you do okay maybe I was pushing you
0:56Claudia Oshry:but if I did that just know like maybe something's wrong with my eye
0:59Kylie Jenner:because I don't know what that was. So now she has like an issue and I feel bad for making fun of her. No, no, no. Like I literally didn't look at anything. I promise you. Because I'd say it. I'd say what's on my heart. I have something so crazy to tell you that I have been dying. I didn't know I'm being dead serious. Okay, I'm really excited. I didn't call you yesterday. Let me drink first. I don't spit out my water. I didn't call you yesterday. I didn't tell you last night. I didn't tell you while we sat here for 10 minutes, while we dilly-dally did for the show because I wanted to tell you live and in living color that last night I did the craziest thing.
1:28You started Copper's Bell Burden. I started Copper's Bell Burden. I read about 100 pages. So like I'm in it. Okay, you're in. Ben finished Remarkably Bright Creatures. Oh my God, he loved it so much. Like I know it was like a long thing, but I feel so, the whole point of this when you're talking about it was because I chose a random book for my husband. He doesn't read. I know his interests. I tried to gauge if he would like the book. He loved it. So things I did, that, I got to pick another one, which will be hard. But we both read last night, so mature, because I was so productive yesterday.
1:59Like we did Maj and while I was devastated, I finally answered emails for the past like month. I watched all of my programs. I'm caught up on Rory. So I had time to start Strangers Belburden. I'm taking a stab at my contemplate. And let me tell you, obviously I don't know where the book goes, but like I'm in it now.
2:15Claudia Oshry:It hooks you from the beginning because the beginning starts in the middle. And I just want to say, if I ever see her fucking husband out in the streets, oh, it's on fucking site. What a little shit. Now I wanted to refrain from Googling because I'm dying to know who he actually is. Oh, I never Googled him. Oh, I'm dying to know. I think he's just a businessman. Like, you don't know him. Well, I just wanted to look up pictures and stuff. Okay. But I don't want to spoil anything for the book because she told us what happened during COVID and now we're getting her life story, which I could live a little bit without so much deep, I don't need to know about your parents' divorce and then their both respective new marriages.
2:46Except for the dad's wife
2:48Claudia Oshry:because she's a big part of Belle's life. Yeah, like more so than her mom. Except that her mom's boyfriend, when she talks about the boyfriend, it's Charlie Rose. Oh, I'm not there yet. No, no, no. She doesn't say, but like she, she references her mom's boyfriend a couple of times. One who like came to live with them for a few years. They got married and she liked him for one year and she loved him. And then her long-term boyfriend who she ended up being with forever is Charlie Rose. Charlie Rose. Well, that's the interesting thing about this rando woman is like her roots. Her roots. Are rooted in like aristocracy, American royalty, academics.
3:20Like she's really like a modern socialite.
3:23Claudia Oshry:She's really a socialite. Like her grandmother was Babe Paley, who was married to the founder of CBS. Everyone is just like moneyed and. Right. And I don't know where it goes, but I imagine like her prenup ruins her life. Because you got to the part where she. They found the prenup. But where she was being a dumb bitch. Where she ignored legal advice. Where she ignored legal advice. But the crazy thing is like it can happen to like a storied generational wealth woman. It can literally happen to anyone. So I plan on finishing it throughout the weekend. But yeah, I'm a woman of my word. I started Copper's Bell Burden.
3:53And so you're liking it? Oh, yeah. Okay, good. It grips you immediately. And it's a short book. That's my queen right there. Like, don't... People think, like, in order for your book to be taken seriously, it has to be long. Look at Copper's Bell Burden. Yeah. And for anybody who doesn't know what book we're actually talking about, it's called Strangers by Bell Burden. And it's like what everyone's talking about. They're making it into movies starring Gwyneth Paltrow. By the way, she's so Gwyneth.
4:12Claudia Oshry:Yeah, it's a true story, this woman's story, about the dissolution of her marriage, which happens in the first minute, So that's not a spoiler. Yeah, right. Which I appreciate. That's the first thing. The second thing is I did something else crazy yesterday. Just sort of like took control of my own life. And I went to see a chiropractor. Because I heard, you know, I'm looking for alternate treatments from my thumb. Yeah. And I've heard that there are a couple of, you know, freaky deaky alternative methods, you know, acupuncture. And I've heard that chiropractor might work. There's like this method where they stimulate blood flow.
4:39So I just made an appointment with some random guy and I went. I didn't realize I was also making an appointment at a place that's also part physical therapy. and so obviously I was feeling triggered walking in the door my pants like sort of fell down on their own it was great to be back but it wasn't Frank no it wasn't Frank but like what is it with physical therapists that they're all handsome like the guy was just like a really handsome like nothing you know not like a model but like a dad and he was just like a handsome guy well maybe it's like if you're into
5:04Kylie Jenner:physical therapy or into the wellness and you keep up with yourself you know you're not gonna be like a slob yeah thankfully this one was just my thumb and I didn't have to take any clothes off But I did feel a little bit of tingling in my thumb while I was reading Copper's Bell Burden. That's good. So it was working. He said, don't expect magic overnight. But like, of course, I have to come back. I'm going back on Friday for like a couple of sessions. I can't even think about your thumb. I just want to say it looks kind of better. It does. It does. Yeah, keep going. I really just don't want to get surgery.
5:31So I'll try anything. That's great to not have to get surgery. And then the third thing, I wanted to tell you something that my husband did that honestly made me feel so weird. And I just need to like speak. Is it going to make me feel weird? Yeah. Okay. So Ben got a teeth cleaning yesterday, which is like for some reason. I'm scared because we're cooking together today. No, no, it's not like that. Okay. Like he did something socially weird. Like I kind of want to smack him. Not gross. So Ben got a teeth cleaning here yesterday. And like for some reason, whenever Ben and I are here, we go to the dentist.
5:59One of our like good friends who lives here. It's true. So we're like always like, hey, Mark, can we go to whatever. Ben was having like a gum issue. And then they were like, you also need a cleaning. So he went for a cleaning at 8 a.m. yesterday. And he called me after he was like, got the cleaning. Of course, they upsold him on a$75 electric toothbrush. and he was like it was a really good cleaning so I tipped the hygienist he was like wait what he's like yeah I gave her 50 I was like what he was like she did a really good job and I'm like that's inappropriate yeah yeah isn't that crazy it is crazy he's so weird that's crazy I mean I'm sure she was grateful for it but also just the idea of like money changing hands by like a
6:38Claudia Oshry:hygienist money so dirty money so dirty physically dirty yeah not like not conceptually we love money um yeah i thought it was so weird and i guess he didn't think it was weird till i was like are you okay and then i think i like gave him a bit about it but like that's really weird right i yeah and also it's just like it sucks for the rest of us because now he's like raising the bar impossible standard and we have to be tipping everywhere we go i know like as if tipping culture hasn't already gotten out of control now we have to tip our medical professional i don't think so honey no no not with the insurance system as broken as it is they're let's say you know like your pediatrician's gonna have an ipad that they flip around yeah how crazy he's so weird that's been so crazy like that is i don't even know where like seriously where he came from he's an anomaly um wrapped in a riddle and cash watch roary last yesterday last night that was my catch up i only had one episode which was like so manageable when i finished i was like what should i do Yes.
7:35So we have a story. Yeah. We'll talk about it at the end of the show. And also like we can't talk about the top of the show every day. Yeah. That's how that's how we annoy people. Yeah. And we hate to do that. We do. And we only do it when we have to. Slomu West Mandeville. Yes. No, this is not urgent. So we're going to stop talking about it any minute now. Now. Any minute now. And then other than that, today's a major day. I can't believe you haven't mentioned the majorness of the day. Yes, that's right. My angel boy turned one today. yesterday not yesterday one year ago today I became a mama now I will say it's kind of a terrible day I feel like this overwhelming sense of like sadness and dread and I know that's like not what I'm supposed to be feeling so I need to just like snap out of it but I cried all night obviously picked him up out of his crib in the middle of the night because I was just like missing him and we're having like a little party barbecue today so it's gonna be great I'm just like not in the mood like I want where's my baby yeah you're wanting a baby Where's the baby?
8:33Kylie Jenner:Yeah, no, and he's entering like his medium boy era. It's just not going to work for me. And like every time I say that to Ben, he's like, I know what? He's just trying to make me feel better. He's being so annoying. He was like, no, it's a blessing. Of course. Shut up. Obviously, it's a blessing. Like, I don't even have to say that because obviously. But he's just like, he won't like give in to my sadness, which is fine.
8:53Claudia Oshry:No, but it's also, it's not even just that Ruby's turning one. It's like, it's your first year of motherhood. Like, it's about you. It's more so about that. And I do feel like for first birthdays, especially because the babies like don't remember them, like it really is more about the mother. Absolutely. You know, so today we're celebrating you. Absolutely. This feels like more special than my birthday. Yeah. Yeah. My angel. So cute. I'm excited for the party. Me too. Like it's going to be great. It's all good. Of course the Knicks are playing tonight, which like they have to win for my angel.
9:22Okay. So it's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. Yeah. But just major, major milestone. major milestone major depressive episode incoming such as life but then like once you process that like it's all very exciting you know what i mean no it's no no like you like because then you get to like it's a whole new world yeah no it's good it's good it's good okay let's get into the story so we can talk about our favorite thing road island okay without further ado dot do dot do it is time for the fast five stories that you dot do need to know and the fast five stories that you need to know are brought to you by skims skims just constantly

14:53I brought it to the Mahjong the other day. Have you tried the Mesa Tumblr? Somebody asked me if it was hand painted. Like insane. Have you tried the Mesa Tumblr? No, I know. Olivia loves it too. No, no. Take a sip.
15:02Kylie Jenner:Okay, so it's like a straw, but you don't have to pull back. It's right there. And guess what? And guess what? Ew, what are you drinking? Oh, electrolytes.

I have this opportunity to clean my water bottle. Thank you, Simple Modern. I love this water bottle. I got to highlight it and show you a live demo. Our first story, Kylie Jenner makes a rare comment about her man's Timothy. She's thirsting over her boyfriend in a comment section on Page Six's TikTok. So Page Six posted a video of Timothy Chalamet walking into the Knicks game like in slow-mo, like very pargy. And she commented, daddy.
16:31And then deleted.
16:33Jackie Oshry:Because then I saw this. I was like, oh, love this. And then I was scrolling TikTok and I actually got served organically the video. And I went to the comments. And first of all, the top comment was Victoria, Kylie's friend, writing daddy. Like obviously replacing her comment. Because then all the other comments were like me looking for Kylie's comment. Like, did she delete it?
16:51Claudia Oshry:And that does raise something that I'm curious about in their relationship. There's obviously a very big sense of privacy in the relationship. They don't talk about each other, really. They do all this stuff, but they're very much like off limits. They've been dating for a very long time, but we have to like act like they're not dating. She never posted him on her Instagram. He doesn't post her. It's only like ideas of him or whatever. And it's like, where is this coming from? Like which one of them is pushing for this? Because it bothers me. Because when celebrities are private, sometimes it's just like earnest and it's sweet.

17:25Jackie Oshry:and they just want privacy. But I feel like a lot of times, you know, people are having that conversation now about Joe Burrow. He's been dating that girl, Olivia Ponton, for like literally two years now. They get spotted out all the time together, but never physically together. He makes like her get out of the car first and everybody's like, why is she accepting? It's actually so disrespectful. At least Kylie and Timothy, like they're always together. Yeah. But like sometimes now, even in hindsight with like Taylor and Joe, it's like, what are you hiding so much?
17:48Claudia Oshry:No, and it's like, what's the big deal if we see a picture of Joe and Olivia walking into a restaurant together? Like, what's the big deal? that's your girlfriend like I understand in the beginning of a relationship you want privacy because you don't want outside influences and a for like for a while in a relationship you don't you are always walking on eggshells right to you know like until you're really settled and like that's your person and like you can conquer but Kylie and Timothy are settled Kylie and Timothy are settled they do everything together so like what's with this insistence on like no social media together or like really just like going all the way in on things that are already happening I do wonder like whose camp it's coming from.
18:24Like I could see Kylie wanting it just because like maybe things didn't work out with Travis the way that she had hoped. And maybe she regrets like having been so public. Or Timothy. Like I don't really know Timothy to have been in a long term relationship before this. So like maybe this is how he does stuff.
18:38Jackie Oshry:But you can't really have that expectation when you're dating a Jenner Kardashian. No.
18:42Claudia Oshry:And it's like we're all we're at 98 percent of like exposure on their relationship. Like what's with the last two percent? Like why are you holding out? It's like it's silly.
18:51Kylie Jenner:But a 4 % is really just social media. Yeah. Because they go to red carpets together. And they are paparazzi together all the time.
18:57Claudia Oshry:And interviews, I would say. No one really asks. Yeah, they reference each other as like boyfriends.
19:01Kylie Jenner:They would say like, I have a boyfriend. He said like to my partner. Kid Cudi had the nerve to ask her like about a movie of Timothy's. Yeah. But no, she doesn't like talk about her relationship, nor does he. And it's like, just look at Taylor and Travis. Just jump in. I know. I know. But I do think like you could, yeah, look at Taylor and Travis. And then you could also say, look at somebody else. And like, it goes terribly wrong. Yeah. They give us stuff. So I can't be ungrateful. They've been together for over two years. At this point, if they don't work out, it's not because they share too much on social media.
19:30Yeah, but maybe they think that like now that if they share, like it'll be a curse. You know, the Kardashian curse?
19:34Kylie Jenner:Yeah, I guess. But also, so she commented daddy and then deleted it. I didn't, I did not see it. Well, it's like people have screenshots of it. Yeah, of course. No, no, I'm not saying it never existed. I'm saying like, maybe she like regretted. Or he like called her. I don't think he loves her. And I think, I think she really is in control, especially with like the media narrative, especially ever since bell, ballerina gate, you know, he can't get involved. Yeah. I feel annoyed. I agree, but it's not like they gave us nothing for a while. They gave us genuinely nothing. I feel like these days, especially with like the Knicks game and stuff, we get a lot.
20:10Claudia Oshry:We do. And we get red carpets and it's okay. I just, I wonder what's holding them back from like sharing and, and social media is their terms, right? Like they get red carpet pictures, taking them next pictures. They don't get to control how like they look or like if someone's making a face where it looks like they don't like the other, but like on social media, you get to put out exactly what you want and like show us only what you want. I don't know why she wouldn't want to do that. Even going to the Nick game is actually like so personal because you're literally being watched by it's a three hour live stream of your relationship.
20:39Lips lip reading. Like I, somebody, I watched a lip reader reading their conversation where he was like, yeah, I really want to try that. Like it's actually so invasive. more so than a carousel. And you know, like he's in posting pictures in Turks and Caicos, she's person. Like, come on. Yeah. Yeah, no, we're just like, we're greedy because like they do give us a decent amount, but I wonder why.
20:58Claudia Oshry:I had accepted the fact that we're not getting it. It's not even about that. I want it. I'm just curious, like why they have this hard stop? Like what? Maybe it's just like this one thing
21:06Kylie Jenner:they want to keep for themselves. Like, which is what? Like pictures of themselves that they take? Like, I don't know. And Timothy's actually like hella active on Instagram. I only recently followed him because that's my friend's boyfriend. I didn't even know he had Instagram. Yeah, no. And he like posted a mirror picture this morning, like of his outfit. He was wearing like huge basketball shorts, like all the way down to his. On stories or. Yeah, you want to say. Sure. I didn't know that he does stories.
21:30Jackie Oshry:No, he did a story like and it didn't feel like it was the first one I'd ever seen. Timothy. Yeah, he like pretty. He has 20 million followers. Here, look. Mirror pic. 14 hours ago. And wait, he also has one more story. He's riding a scooter. Okay. Yeah. That's crazy that he does stories.
21:48Kylie Jenner:He's just like a little Jewish kid from New York, you know? Yeah. Kylie loves him. Kylie convert? Kylie the convert? That's what we need. Even though Scott Disick and his kids do carry the Jewish torch in the Kardashians. The Kardashians are literally the United Nations. They have got it all covered. But, you know, always good to have more Jews. Kylie would be. Kylie would be such a proud Jewess. Yeah, she would really be great. Maybe that's what's holding it all up. I just want to let you guys know, like, it's not the craziest thing. If Kylie Jenner ever actually converted to Judaism, any denomination, reform, conservative, I don't know if I would be okay.
22:27I actually don't think I would recover. That would be the craziest thing. Yeah. Like, I don't want to get too excited. It would be so exciting. What if she's already done it? Like, imagine she's, like, making collas, having Jake Shane over for Shabbat. I'm throwing up. I'm literally throwing up. And, like, maybe, like. Make him a kugel. She can like read the Haftorah at Mason's Bar Mitzvah or something. Even though I think Mason already had his Bar Mitzvah. Yeah, he did. He did. The next one, Rain. Mm-hmm. Penelope. No, she'll do like one of the seven blessings. At their wedding. Yeah. That's really beautiful.
22:56Very good. I don't want to get too excited. Of course. I actually just didn't realize until this very moment that that was even like a remote possibility. It's not that crazy. Yeah.
23:01Kylie Jenner:I just want her to leave up her comment that said, Daddy. That's really all I wanted. Right. Small scale, that. Big scale, Judaism. Conversion. I know a great rabbi. I'm sure Timothy does too. Yeah, I'm sure. I'm sure. Is Judaism important to Timothy? I don't get the sense. Although I do think he actually, I don't know, with Marty Supreme, like that was like a very lower east side Jewish story. I do feel like. Bob Dylan. Right. Actually. I do feel like he identifies largely as a Jew. I don't know in practice how much he's like lighting candles or making kiddush. And I don't know. And it's his mother who's Jewish?
23:35Yes. I think both. And he's close with, no, Chalamet. They're French. So hold on. I looked this up once. timothy chalamet parents jewish like if you're this is like so classic like googling who's his mother is jewish his father is not but that's all you need your mother to be jewish and he's close with his mother yeah i i just think it's it's not the craziest thing oh my god wow oh my god i didn't really think that it was possible i know and now that you do like are you able to
24:05Kylie Jenner:think of anything else no then then kylie has the shabbos malica no i can't and kylie just wearing like a shade all over her head to go to synagogue even though the kardashians they don't talk about it a lot but like they're like a deeply religious family spiritual spiritual yeah like i don't think kylie's really because the thing about judaism is like we have a lot going for us one thing we don't really have going for us is like aesthetics like Easter like I feel like the Kardashians love the aesthetics of religion too and they're always like leaning in they love the cross yeah they do I could see Kylie rocking like a big Star of David necklace yeah I just don't think like she'd be willing to give up Christmas yeah no
24:45Claudia Oshry:she wouldn't be willing to give up I think it would be one of those I think it would be interfaith but Timothy's used to interfaith because his parents are interfaith Hanukkah Bush his parents are interfaith so I think it would I don't think he would make her convert because his parents didn't convert Kylie if you are even really interested in converting or you've already begun the process, leave us a little hint on your Instagram stories because I know you like to -
25:07Kylie Jenner:Post a candle in some capacity. Oh, that's really good. Yeah, that's beautiful. Could be, you know, like a diptyque, any sort of flame. Yankee. Yeah, any sort of flame. A bonfire. Yeah, a fire candle. Yeah, we need a flame. Because she does like, when we ask her to do this, she does sort of extrapolate. Yeah, because she can't be too obvious. I think it would be a bonfire. Like, but now we've called her out on it. So she'll get creative. Like, yeah, she will. Stovetop or something. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But I don't want to take all her ideas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Candle flame. Flamme.
25:37Are you ready for our next story? Timothy Flamme, yeah. Aaron Rodgers announces he's retiring after the upcoming NFL season. Oh, so we still have one more. Is he on the Jets? He's on the Steelers. After his upcoming 22nd season, wow, in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers plans to hang up his cleats. The longtime quarterback announced that he will retire at the end of the 26th season. finishing out his future Hall of Fame career with the Steelers. He shared the news during a press conference at the practice facility. He was asked if this would be his final season, simply saying, yes, this is it. Wow, I love that.
26:09Kylie Jenner:Very simple. Athletes love to be drama. Yeah, they're like, I'm making an announcement at 3 o 'clock. Will they? Won't they? But they probably asked him because they like to, like, you know, taunt him. And he's like, yeah, I am. Great. No big ceremony. Well, bye. I feel bad for him. Me too. Because this is not. I mean, maybe the Steelers will win the Super Bowl this year. I hope they make it, like, decently far. I hope he has a good season to, like, finish out his career because, like. It's a pretty bad way to go out, like, the whole Jets thing. Why did he leave the Packers? Was there drama there?
26:42Claudia Oshry:Oh, yeah. They hired another quarterback when he needed other players, like, to build around him. And they're investing in, like, his replacement. Yeah. That's what I think happened. So, I guess that's also a bad way to go out. So he thought maybe the Jets could be his, but like the Jets, and I say this as a Jets fan, like it takes, it's going to take a lot more than Aaron Rodgers, you know? And then of course, day one, game one, he gets injured. So this is why I actually have a little bit of sympathy for like Tom Brady. It is really hard to time your retirement perfectly. Although Tom Brady like literally won several Super Bowls and each time like he had the opportunity to retire peacefully and he wouldn't.
27:19So like, that's not a perfect example, but I do think it's really hard to time. And you're always like, well, if I get one more, I can go out better than now. and actually it could be worse. That's what I've been Aaron Rodgers. So you know what? I guess I'm silently rooting for the Steelers this season. Yeah. So he's not embarrassed. No, he's so prideful.
27:34Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And he's so dedicated to the game in the past 22 years. He deserves a better ending. Yeah. I think that's also currently what we're seeing with Travi. He doesn't know how to go out. Okay. But he does still have a few years technically in him. But correct me if I'm wrong. Travis is not Aaron Rodgers. No. Okay. Like Aaron Rodgers led a whole franchise successfully for like a decade. Yeah. Travis is a great player on the team.
28:06Kylie Jenner:Right, right. Yeah, Travis is one of the best tight ends. Aaron's one of the best quarterbacks, but I do think like. Quarterback is like kind of more impactful. Quarterback is a higher tier of. Quarterback? Greater than. Yeah. Greater than all. They're the leader. They just like score the points. No, no, but they're the leader of the team. The captain. Yeah, no, I agree. They're the leader. I agree. Oh, I miss when we talk about football. Me too. We're so far out. We're so far out. We could talk about baseball. We could. We could talk about basketball. Oh, right. We're talking about basketball.
28:33Kylie Jenner:Go next. We're talking about Gakaba. Yeah. Gakaba. Gakaba. That's basketball, guys. That's what Charlie used to call basketball when he was small. And that's also what he used to call blueberries, you know? Yeah, because he thought they looked like basketball. Gakaba. Literally genius. Genius. Genius. Gakaba. Gakaba. Oh, and you're entering that phase soon? Yes, yes. Of cute words? Yes. No, no, it's all good. What is he going to call basketball? Probably what his big cousins call it. Gakaba.
29:08Are you ready for our next story? Yeah. Which is one of our favorite topics, two of our favorite topics, Influencer News and Bethany Frankel. Bethany Frankel reveals the astronomical amount she makes a year in brand deals. So Bethany Frankel is on Emma Greed's podcast called Expire. And she's really spilling the tea and giving the exclusive. And I also feel like this is an interesting point in Bethany's career. Because she's always kind of been this, I don't want to say polarizing, but just like lightning rod type of. And now I feel like she's really entered into polarizing figure territory. Because Emma Greed had to make a TikTok.
29:45She posted a trailer being like, my next guest on Inspire, Bethany. the little clips exciting drumming up excitement and then emma greed was like i just wanted to hop on here like i'm getting so much pushback people telling me to um like sack the episode like not release it and i was like i would never do that that's just bad business like everyone's talking about my episode why would i not release it um i just i it must have been like a perfect storm of like a few things it's kind of the perfect storm like the day after new gate yeah right shoegate it's just she really has become this like polarizing person yeah but like acting like they act when you know like a politician goes on something but it's but it's like really
30:25Claudia Oshry:not real because it's like emigrate posted on tiktok the the clip of the podcast and yes tiktok is where like the the shoegate haters live and so they all occupied the comments but like that's not the real world no and i'm sure bethany's episode of this podcast is probably one of the better performing episodes yeah so i don't i think yes she's polarizing on tiktok and i think she's been that way for a very long time since she started doing these reviews and like tiktok is the sort of gen z platform and like first of all bethany is not beloved by gen z like she is who she is because of like the millennials and honestly the women her age like from bravo and stuff um but like yeah they would hate bethany because bethany like shares hard truths and bethany's like no bullshit and like not opposite gen z being like this is the safe space your feelings are valid like not with bethany yeah so i get why you know why she's considered maybe that on tiktok yeah that's also like where she has success so like yeah no and she thrives there and that's and all of that discourse like contributes to her success yeah um so she revealed the amount of money that she's making on brand deals in a year she has raked in over 20 million dollars per year thanks to her lucrative influencer contracts so she told emma greed it's tens of millions of This is not including my other businesses, my real estate, my licensing.
31:40Claudia Oshry:We're talking like 20 plus million dollars. Well, when she was here on the toast, I asked her like skinny girl business, you know, cover of Forbes influencer. Like, what's the difference? And she said, like, my best day in the cover of Forbes era doesn't even come close to what I'm doing now. Yeah. She said, I'm not that comfortable with it just because it'll make people mad at me. Yeah, right. I believe that people shouldn't work for free. Interns, I pay. I don't believe in anybody working for free. And if you're moving product and you're affecting an outcome, honestly, then I believe you should be compensated.
32:07Claudia Oshry:So I don't feel guilty about it. She adds that the products she promotes are only ones she truly believes in and uses. I'm very trusted and partners come to me for their marketing budgets. Like multi-billion dollar companies come to me to figure out how they're going to spend. She explained also that she can talk about anything she wants, which is something brands look for. Also very true. A lot of people have a niche and it's like, well, we're going to ask you to promote our beauty products, not our food.
32:28Kylie Jenner:Right. Or other people. You do food. She does food. She does beauty. She does fashion. She does lifestyle. like it's just Bethany any product a human would use Bethany would use it it's true she is really versatile she also said something interesting that I thought was cool being like she works with businesses on multiple scales like obviously one of her biggest partners is L 'Oreal and her contract with them is like several million dollars a year but if there's a brand that came to her with a budget like she makes the budget work no matter what if it's a small budget or a big budget and that's why she says she's making so much money is because like she's able to do multi-million and also like a story she has a newsletter uh and it's she hasn't heard the b-list yeah whatever um And I thought that was really smart because I think a lot of times when you're at that level, like if the budget doesn't match your rate, bye.
33:06Yeah. But she makes it work. She never turns anything down if it's like a brand that she wants to work with and they have budget. Yeah. Which I thought was cool. People just like can't take Bethany. She's just a force. Mm-hmm.
33:19Kylie Jenner:And. I don't understand it. I love it.
33:23Claudia Oshry:It's inspiring, by the way. She's so magnetic. Yeah. Even when she was on the toast. We literally watched the episode three times. We did. And I don't know what the factor is about her that like keeps people glued. Maybe it's because like you don't know what she's going to say. That's, you know, I don't want to watch someone who I know what's coming out of their mouth and it's boring and it's lukewarm or it's outrageous just for outrageous sake. Like, I don't know. She just like has something that's just like so gripping. She is smart, too. So like while I think a lot of the things that she says is not like what the what everyone's saying, she is a person who you want to hear what she has to say because she like her story is very impressive in terms of how she grew up.
33:58And now like literally having a second. Peak so late, not late, but like later on in her career, I think it's inspiring to a lot of women her age and also like women our age. Like, yeah, the best is yet to come.
34:11Claudia Oshry:Yeah. She mentioned that like in her interview with Emma, like about how moms and like older women like appreciate that she's in this space. She's on Sports Illustrated. Like we haven't been forgotten. She's like she's people are not understanding what it is because it's strange that I walk Sports Illustrated with 25 year olds. Right. There's nobody my age there, but it's not like they're giving me the token grandma role. It's true. It's landing because moms are saying thank you for not disqualifying us as a group. I could be aliening moms, but I'm not. I think also what rubs people the wrong way about Bethany is like maybe someone in her position like would act coy or she's very like proud and sure of herself.
34:44So I think that like a lot of the things like that I think women are like supposed to say, oh, it's like such an honor. It's like, no. Yeah. Look at me. I'm amazing. And so I think people are put off by like her refusal to act shy or coy or just she's like very matter of fact about her accomplishments. And I think that that's just not what people are used to.
35:02Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Also, I guess it's like when that those things come with age, sometimes like wisdom and confidence and having confidence in your wisdom. And so like we don't have a lot of influencers who are sure of themselves. They're all like burgeoning 20 year old, crippling, insecure. and everything someone says to them they're going to apologize for because they like feel bad and they don't know who they are and it's refreshing to like follow someone older who's not hung up with those things it is refreshing it's different so I think that's part of why it rubs people the wrong way but there's that's what we like encourage each other to do like to be confident but that's why it works I think yeah and I think that's also why her audience is skews a little bit more older because the older you get the more you appreciate that whereas I think like when you're younger you resented and like think it's like cringy i don't know i feel like she's not like i i do feel like gen z is there they're paying attention like they're paying attention yeah and even though she's not like their comfort i feel like everyone likes a little bit of like yeah like be mean to me yeah she also just like she has haters like like everyone yeah you know yeah um so that was interesting yeah i want to listen to the episode our next story Jessica Simpson reveals why she was sitting apart from her kids on her flight to
36:15Kylie Jenner:Hawaii reveals like what's a kid shouldn't sit in first class like sorry I'm with her so Jessica Simpson was talking to photographers at the airport they asked uh her about this Nick right
36:26Claudia Oshry:Nicholas so blowing up her spot um so she set the record straight she said my mom bought those tickets it was my mom's treat for us to go to Hawaii she was then asked whether her kids would have been sitting with her if she had purchased the ticket she said of course that they would have been with her if it was her trip and she purchased them and they were in the back with the husband yeah okay love that like seriously love with the estranged husband I just like hate that she has to explain herself and like even let's say she it was her trip and maybe she's like getting flack so she's like yeah if I bought it like everyone would have been sitting together like I think there should be more love she should be more respected for this like I'm sure her kids live a very lavish life they live in hidden hills they're friends with the Kardashians like they're fine um so yeah like making them sit and coach like that's exactly the type of behavior like we want our billionaires to instill in their children so the fact that everyone's making this such a big deal like who gives a fuck it's good it's also really crazy there's a fly on my water bottle he loves the water bottle too it's also really crazy to me that her and nick and vanessa were like stuck in like a confined space for six hours on a flight to hawaii like nightmare fuel like that's each other's number one op she said yes i think jessica for nick and nick and vanessa
37:35Kylie Jenner:Jessica for Vanessa. And Vanessa for Jessica. And Nick and Vanessa for Jessica. I don't know if Vanessa for Jessica. Your ex-husband's wife? Your ex-husband. It's not a boyfriend. A husband. I know, but they were seriously teenagers. I'm sorry.
37:51Claudia Oshry:That's just so crazy. So unfortunate. She said that they did all talk and it was really pleasant. And what's so funny is when Nick and Jessica split in the book, couldn't be worse for each other. Go away. Goodbye. but like they've actually wound up with the same life right like three kids each yeah in hawaii
38:07Kylie Jenner:still working in the industry maybe they could have made it work oh you think that you know what i mean like it's not like they didn't want different things that's true but i also think like they wanted three kids and to go to hawaii it was never gonna work with nick being in a relationship with somebody who's in his industry on another level for sure him and vanessa like actually are complimentary yes those are the things that split them up but i'm just saying if they like worked past that. If he could have matured a little bit, yeah. If they worked past that, they would have had the same life.
38:35Kylie Jenner:I do think, yeah, they both go to church a lot.
38:37Claudia Oshry:Like sometimes you see two people who divorce and like you can't even imagine how they were ever together because this one did that and that one did this and this. But like, look, they have the same life. Also like copper is well burned and sometimes you go through a divorce and you become a completely different person. But no, that wasn't the case for them. They were also really young. Yeah, but I also like couldn't see Jessica hosting Love is Blind. I don't know. I feel like she had to a place in her career where like she might have needed to. No, I don't think that she would be a good host.
39:01Kylie Jenner:Oh, me neither. But Vanessa's a good host. She's a professional host. Yeah. Isn't she TRL? She was something. One of those, yeah. So I don't know how that would have worked. But just saying, it's just sometimes funny like that. Like, hey, you actually married the same person. Yeah. And I don't know anything about Jessica's husband except for the fact that he's like a former athlete. Like, if an alien came down from space and looked at these four people, they wouldn't see a difference. Yeah. I mean, that's beautiful. We're all human. Well, that's why we need to all go to outer space. Absolutely.
39:32Are you ready for our fifth and final story? Finally, Rory recap. If it's our fifth and final story, that's brought to you by Crocs. Oh, our Crocs that we're wearing today. I'm wearing mine in two-wheel drive today. How cute are these? These are the new ones with the buckle. Not the two-wheel drive. I have the buckle as well. Mine are a creamy color. I just want to say, I'm obsessed with Crocs like always. I feel like I started wearing them in camp. And then like they actually are extremely high fashion. But it is so hot here. and I need shoes that are supportive, but also like, you see these holes?
40:00I need air to get through. Crocs are great if you're truly suffering in the current season that we're in.
40:07Claudia Oshry:Yeah, they're also great for parenting. They're a great indoor-outdoor shoe, you know? Because like, I want to wear slippers in the house, but I don't want to wear my slippers outside. But I can wear Crocs in the house and I can wear Crocs outside.
40:14Kylie Jenner:Yeah, I have like my indoor Crocs and my outdoor Crocs. You feel that? Yeah, no, you need Crocs like at every door.
40:19Jackie Oshry:Crocs are shoes that are so comfortable. You can wear them all day and forget that you're even wearing shoes. Going somewhere? Just slip them on and go. You can grab them on your way out the door and you never have to sacrifice convenience for style. Speaking of style, Crocs shoes come in so many fun silhouettes. Some are more elevated like the classic crafted clogs which are made with 100 % soft wash canvas upper. If you like to keep it simple but you enjoy a little embellishment, we have here the classic buckle clog which is a great option. It comes with a very cute buckle on the heel strap, adds a touch of elegance to the shoe.
40:49Jackie Oshry:Plus you can wear it on the back or the front. Let me just show you a little QVC over here. back on the front with the pivoting heel strap or as Luke Combs says, two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive. There's even gibbets. Oh my God. I love gibbets. Look at my gibbets. Gibbets is so cute. They have really cute ones for kids. They're plenty. Look how cute these ones are. We've got a bunch of sports teams ones. I bet you never saw gibbets like these. Yeah, no. So cute. So swirly. They're the perfect lightweight shoe. Throw them in your bag regardless of where you're going and you can easily bring them along.
41:14Jackie Oshry:Everybody knows that Croc shoes are the best shoes for the airport. Like everybody knows. Easy on and off for security. Plus having a shoe that's comfortable and cute is the best to travel in. I actually have like a lot of different Crocs now that I'm like realizing because I have my ones in the city that are like fur lined. I have fur lined as well. So nice for like this. But then the warmer months, like I need ventilation coming through my shoe. I hate a stinky foot. That's why Crocs are great. Also, yeah, I'm a very active mother. I love water sports. I am a water side. Oh, and don't get us started on Crocs for kids.
41:41Don't. Like actually don't. Kids love Crocs. What's not to love? They're so fun. It's such a fun way to express your creativity. Like they have a lot of sports teams, jibbets of course we have cowboys it's so cute and then like you can have like a bunch of unicorn ones it's also fun activity like popping them in and like designing your shoe really great way to

44:09Claudia Oshry:our fifth and final story so um leading into Rory recap but Ashley Akinetti uh talks about parenting while filming Rory on her podcast saying that it is very hard she said she's actually um on the verge of a mental breakdown yeah I can sense that yeah no not even just the filming of the show but I think also like the promo and the watching it I feel like that's actually the harder part yeah like after the filming like all the all that's required especially they don't live in like a major city so she probably has to leave home quite a bit to do press go and watch happens live
44:35Kylie Jenner:all that stuff. She has her like already obligations of influence. She does her podcast with Ben Higgins. And that's so crazy. Do you guys remember like the era of bachelor where like every bachelor person was getting an iHeartRadio podcast. And this was like a really popular one. It was such a random pairing, but look at, and they're all, they've all come and go, but this one's still standing. Yeah, no, I think people really like it. She said that being married, raising kids and juggling reality TV can be tough. She said, it's been a crazy couple of weeks for both of them. And she felt on the verge of a mental breakdown.
45:05She said it's really hard to be a parent while going through all of this.
45:08Claudia Oshry:And now we can say filming for season two because they got renewed. Oh, good. Bracing for that filming. I can't do it all myself anymore. I guess she needs like Jared to like stop at the fucking coffee shop. Okay, so I thought that was actually a really interesting part of her scenes, which she did film in her house. I don't know if you saw.
45:22Kylie Jenner:Yeah, but did you realize it was the first time we've been there? No, it felt familiar to me. I can't lie. You knew your way around? Yes, not my house, but I know my way around. I thought that conversation was really interesting about how like Jared quite literally is gone all day, every day. making no money like and it's the money that he could make in a single instagram post but he just like refuses to use his energy and his days to do that i guess he finds it unfulfilling yeah like he wants real work labor not social media and well well i do actually think that might be admirable like at a certain point you've got to call it like you spending all the time away from home to bring in no income just to make yourself feel better meanwhile your wife is then at home making the income and being the parent that's actually not fair no and you don't feel better you're doing all
46:08Claudia Oshry:of this and you've never been less happy you're so unhappy she let you do this so that you would be happy and like lead a fulfilling life because she can understand that like being a social media influencer isn't like what everyone wants with your days you want to produce something and give a cup of coffee and it's not making you happy so like at this point you're actually just like neglecting your family you're it's worse than being a deadbeat because you're actually taking away time you're taking away money because that's time that she can't spend working on her things and you see how she like films her ad in like a and the kids have to go hide in the basement yeah and like the friend is filming it and it's like she's doing like imagine what she could do if she had more time and more support and more resources no i i didn't realize like when i was watching the show that i was gonna just hate jared high bond but i hate him but and she's very supportive
46:51Kylie Jenner:which is something that i really admire about her but it gets to a point of like enabling yeah absolutely and this is ridiculous no i agree that was very upsetting and like what you just laid out the financials that like the coffee shop brings in no money and actually opportunity costs like you're now not at home not supporting not helping with the family we're outsourcing a nanny like seriously grow up and i feel like when you like it's it's admirable to have hopes and dreams but when you become a dad a dad of two like that sort of goes out the window and logic has to win and reason has to win and it's like this makes no sense this is unreasonable yeah at this point to be better if he didn't work at all yeah at least he could be with the kids yeah they wouldn't need that 30 hour a week nanny and she wouldn't be like stressed out and also like you know she also like loves her husband and then like you also never see him that's also just not he's like mad all the time because of this like stressful failing business that like nobody needs him to do like quite literally nobody asked for and the name of the coffee shop is audrey's and that's her mom's name oh but i don't do they name it for her mom maybe his mom's James Audrey too.
47:54Like I don't know. That's cute. I don't know. And then the meat and potatoes of the episode was this fight I had heard a lot about. What I had heard was that like you know Rosie ate her up and chewed her up. Yeah. Which I do agree with like in terms of the argument like who won. It's not even a question. Kelsey like seriously looked like a loser. When she came back in at the end of that fight and was like and I did win that pageant. It's like okay girl nobody can hear you. Like big loser energy. And you know I've kind of been I've been turning. Like I really am team Rosie. and I was happy that she won the fight but I also feel like she shouldn't have started the fight like I knew that that fight started when they were doing the hair thing and I wasn't sure when I saw Kelsey driving in I'm like is this what she's gonna blow up at or is there something else because I actually thought and I think the worst of Kelsey like when she gave that backhanded compliment I'm like she didn't mean that I don't think she's a genuine person and I actually thought that in that moment it was like a funny way to just sort of end this dumb little saga between them and she was kind of making fun of herself like calling herself the house police like yeah you're a loser you don't even have a house like I actually thought it was a good joke and all in good fun I really did and I was hoping I was like oh please don't let this be the thing that starts a fight because it would be an overreaction and it was the thing and it was an overreaction and it was an insane fight like yeah with the bag oh and I'm sorry Rosie just like seriously ate it up when she like literally shoved her out of the house and when Kelsey came back to like say something the door was slammed right in her face like it was it was brilliantly executed but I don't think she should have started it oh I feel differently in the sense that I thought what Kelsey did was annoying with the siren and I would have been annoyed too one like the loudness and I don't like a siren that's just like chaotic and actually Rosie's chaotic so I don't think she's coming at it from a place of I do have like did you just disturb my peace yeah but anyways that would have bothered me I didn't
49:32Claudia Oshry:think it was like a great joke or anything but I thought Rosie's reaction was so outsized and so trashy and like you can say get out of my house get out of my house get out of my house but to like push her down the stairs out the door calling her these nasty things and it's like we get it she's a sugar baby like she gets money from men she's never pretending like she's not like it's just i thought it was so outsized it was like a level 100 reaction on something that was like a dispute you know yeah and rosie was planning on getting in on the joke again about the house because she had the tape measure and shit out that's what i meant she was ready to rehash it And joke about it.
50:11Driving up. I was like, this can't be the thing that starts the fight. Because she also has her own little jab. It was perfect. And they should have just ended it and started off on a fresh. And now, obviously, we're so never coming back from this. But I couldn't believe that that's what set her off.
50:27Claudia Oshry:And the way that Rosie behaved. So I understand why she was mad and wanted to be in a fight and get this girl out of her house. Because I actually understand that. Because I didn't like the siren and everything. And then this person's in your house. but the way that she handled herself for me i felt like i was watching a psychopath yeah like i felt like that was psychopathic i liked it and so outsized to like just trying to get someone out of your house when like yeah they've offended you in your home good day sir disrespectful but like that it got like physical and just so nasty and and i don't know what slam pig is but like
51:00Kylie Jenner:it was just she talked about it on what you have inside it's like a road first of all it sounds like a slur um it's like a road island people are like oh my gosh slam pig like best soundbite ever you know people are eating this up yeah i saw it too like oh and she really she told her i don't know it just it i wish the crime the punishment fit the crime i agree because then i could be like excited with everyone but like i actually funnily enough thought it was all in earnest and i think that like if rosie had just taken it like a champ that it would have been the perfect way to end this pretty moronic fight now it's like a big thing yeah it wasn't yeah and then i guess next week it reminded me of kenya more hair care do you remember when i forget who oh maybe it was marlo had a launch for her hair care brand but like kenya that was bad it was so evil what kenya did she like brought a marching band i don't think what kelsey did was evil i just i
51:51Claudia Oshry:wouldn't find it funny personally and i would find it annoying i would find it annoying and i would say as much but like i wouldn't get into a physical altercation and like use all my curse words yeah in this moment she I have to imagine just like being devil's advocate that like she was like I feel like how everyone treated her at the mansion more so required this level of like self-defense and so maybe it was just really bubbled up and like she's just sort of been piled on a little bit and so like it was like an explosion it wasn't about this in particular but I do wish she was like a little bit more measured because it really this wasn't that big of a deal yeah next week they all are at a bar or something and Rosie comes in wearing a sash that says Kelsey does Kelsey does because Kelsey's the pageant queen no I thought Rosie came in wearing a sash that says slam pig no I'm pretty sure it's Kelsey please find out I thought it was Rosie and I was like that's so fucking me no okay we I need to know right now sash hold on I you know what I could pull it up on my peacock the trailer
52:55yeah i'm almost 100 sure it was kelsey like her way of giving it a little bit back hold on i have the the show on my ipad perfect yeah oh no this is not the episode it's like at the very very end it's like the yeah exactly hold on wait i have to go that'd be really crazy if it was Rosie I don't think it is do you agree it would be so crazy of course I didn't I don't even think that it could be okay I think that it is but wait but wait let's watch the trailer
53:32okay here they're fighting
53:36it was really crazy like it's funny they all look so much alike we don't know who it is okay
53:46Kelsey
53:46Kylie Jenner:yeah wait oh okay yeah oh thank god yeah it's Kelsey which is like a good way to like because if someone came in if it was Rosie I would say that was like the nastiest thing yeah yeah okay that yeah better um so I guess that's now in our rotation on Sundays I'm gonna keep up with it now I'm fully caught up hopefully I'll be done with Poppers Bell Burden and now that Real Housewives Beverly Hills is over is anything on on Thursdays because I don't know but the other thing I want to talk about salisha driving you mean your autobiography like you never ran over a woman when she was like that bridge is scary like yeah bridges are scary i thought that was so funny i know people like love her because she's like just like silly and fracas and i think she's very rhode island like she's the embodiment of the culture of like the typical rhode island yeah and like not everything is for me but i actually she does make me chuckle she does make me chuckle although i think a lot of her shtick is annoying like the doll thing well that's not what i'm the car thing is funny and like her home life is very interesting like it makes for good tv um it's crazy that like she has a car seat in the back of her car i know and she's not like married or on the deed of her house no but like that she has a child that's young enough to be in a car seat crazy i like just don't know so like i think of ashley as like young mom yeah right right right right right um but like she has a car seat child as well and she can't drive her to dance oh and then the proof with rule's husband joelle and found the yeah yeah and then alicia's in her house like that actually was really weird oh and then he's such a dumbass like oh i have to go to the bathroom sorry guys work call wait but also everything he was saying at that dinner was worse than the next thing when he said that he literally like drugged her into dating him oh and that he's like a surgeon and he can't eat steak because of the smell of blood like that was disgusting everything he was saying was so crazy he's the freakiest man i take ozempic and then i lose muscle so i take a steroid testosterone yeah yeah freak seriously malpractice he was being crazy he should have his medical license revoked just from that scene alone no it was so crazy and then saying that he was like like oh you know doubling her drinks oh right free like seriously like actually maybe one of the craziest house husbands we've ever met yes yeah and i'm barely paying attention to him and it's like everything i hear is worse than the next and i know every time he films he's like okay i'm gonna just like fix what i did last week and he always makes it worse I actually cannot wait for like the Brian Whatever's like happening in real time For us to like understand Yeah So that is our show Tomorrow's our last show of the week It'll be great And thanks so much for listening to the Toaston Monday morning show We do all the fast five stories You need to know your Monday through Friday on YouTube So if you're watching us on YouTube Please don't forget to subscribe Give us a thumbs up We're also in the podcast Every time I do the outro I like to think about all the funny things we said Yeah yeah What's making you laugh right now Like Brian Brian and wherever you listen to podcast find us a show see if i start via debut signing and weekly talent to be are hope you guys have an amazing day and we'll see you tomorrow love ya bye
