It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the Toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy, oh, that's right, Friday. Friday. What time is it? Friday. It's a vacation. What time is it? Time of our lives. Let's go.
0:36Claudia Oshry:They didn't have to go so hard with that song. Welcome back to the Turs. Every Friday feels like the beginning of summer, especially when beautiful, especially when you're living in Florida, like because we have like a little summer break this weekend. That's unbelievably beautiful. We're going to go to the beach, the pool, dip, dock, dodge, dive and dive. I meant to say like dive, but we're also going to dip, duck, dodge, dive and dive.
1:01Jackie Oshry:Now usually we sort of like ease into the weekend, but I feel like we have a lot to do today on the episode front. We do. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Did you watch? Of course. Traitors.
1:10Claudia Oshry:Oh no, I forgot.
1:11Jackie Oshry:Kidding. You got me. She's a traitor. We got another troll away vote. Oh my God. Last night's episode was actually like an exercise in how to be a loser. Like it was insane.
1:23Claudia Oshry:We were so close. Oh my God. We were so close. to like vindication and like everything that you know we are with the worst candidate like players left and admittedly so they'll all say they're the worst even though they all say natalie's so smart whatever right um stop natalie's speech like made me cry no they're disgusting i fucking hate these people let's save all the spoilers for the tv recap along with real house size of
1:45Jackie Oshry:beverly hills we also have queenie and weenie and then we also just have like two fabulous gals being fabulous talking about pop culture yes that is what we do for a living talking about themselves Yeah, today's kind of a big day. I mean, it is, what, the 20th, right?
1:59Claudia Oshry:Yes.
2:00Jackie Oshry:So I wanted to have this, you know, little speech on the 21st, but it's a Saturday. Ruby's turning nine months. On the 21st. Nine months in, nine months out, even though it's like 10 months, I will be making a speech regardless.
2:12Claudia Oshry:Oh, wow. Where has the time gone? I think of that Harry just turned four. And I was like, it's Harry's three.
2:19Jackie Oshry:I'm sorry, nine months is bigger than four.
2:20Claudia Oshry:Like, do you agree? Nine months is like, it's basically the same as a year. Yes. And yes, I'm not here to continue.
2:28Jackie Oshry:So, oh my God, I'm literally going to try not to cry. I was like crying last night. Nine months in, nine months out. I just wanted to use this moment as a marker, you know, the selfless queen that I am for others. If you find yourself pregnant right now and like freaking or wondering like, should I? Is this life for me? Let me tell you, it's for you. And if you're worried, you should only be worried that your life has sucked so much until this point. Okay. Like, oh my God, it's the most amazing thing. Like, yes, life is different, of course. Are we out shaking our titties on yachts? No. It so doesn't matter, you guys.
3:01Jackie Oshry:Like, it's the best, most amazing thing ever. Your life, like, begins now. And of course, if this life is not for you, your life is great too. You know, I'm not, I feel like the childless people and then the childful people, like, are always combating with one. Like, I don't give a fuck. That's not what I'm talking about. This is a statement.
3:14Claudia Oshry:You're not here to knock anyone.
3:15Jackie Oshry:You're just here to uplift people who might be on the fence. On TikTok, like child-free women and child-full women are always battling one another. And I'm like, girl, they always think the other's talking about them.
3:25Claudia Oshry:I'm not talking about you.
3:26Jackie Oshry:And you're not talking about me. Like, we're good. So sorry. Anyway, I just had to like un-cancel myself.
3:31Claudia Oshry:You're talking to people who are on the fence and also people who are nervous, who like expect that one day they're going to have kids. But you're always just like, am I ready? I don't feel ready. No, of course. Like, I loved my life so much. It was like a very hard decision for me. I always knew I wanted to have kids. Everyone has been watching you on the show for seven years. You've been married the entire time that you were on the toast. and like you just didn't feel ready. I didn't feel ready.
3:48Jackie Oshry:And I was like kind of like really going to miss my life. Like I had this amazing life. Like I got to do whatever I wanted. Like, you know, I had a lot of disposable income that I could just do whatever I wanted with. Like there was no one to tell me no. And while that was amazing, of course, and can't wait to get back there one day, this 32.0 is just the best thing in the whole world. So maybe someone out there needed to hear that. So I just wanted to say. Just a little encouragement.
4:12Claudia Oshry:Nine months in, nine months out. Are you going to post like a nine months in?
4:16Jackie Oshry:No, because like I don't have any pictures From nine months in? Yeah And from nine months out?
4:20Claudia Oshry:Yeah, like no Well you could do like something from the toast Like a clip of you on the toast nine months in That's the thing It's like sometimes I feel like I don't like capture enough
4:29Jackie Oshry:Somebody make like an edit for me Yeah, of turning Like a Taylor Swift song or something Yeah, yeah
4:32Claudia Oshry:Sometimes I feel like I don't capture enough content I'm like I actually capture content like hours long every single week
4:39Jackie Oshry:Oh that of course But I thought you were talking about like the struggle of being people who don't share their kids on Instagram
4:43Claudia Oshry:Oh, that's a different struggle. But no, I'm like, actually, what do you mean? I just made an hour long video. We have clips. I know, I know. We are two of the funniest people. And I know us offline.
4:55Jackie Oshry:When I tell you, there are two more caring, charitable, generous people.
5:01Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Mazel tov to you. Thank you so much. And mazel tov to you as well. Thank you. Four is a big deal. It's also just like four years of me being a mom. Not only having a four year old, but I've been like, I've been doing it. It's important to center yourself on your kids milestone. because it's also about you. Well, no, but like only just for Harry. Like when Charlie has a birthday, like I was still, it's not like I was a mom for two years. Four, I guess then I'll have been a mom of two for three years. But I've been doing it four years and shout out to me. Shout out to us. What's that speech?
5:32Claudia Oshry:Shout out to me. I want to thank me. Yeah, do it. Some mom will know the reference. It evades me.
5:42Jackie Oshry:What else?
5:43Claudia Oshry:I watched so much TV last night. Yeah, I was doing my homework last night. We played Maj yesterday. We did play Maj yesterday. I didn't know if you wanted to talk about it. Because I didn't win and Jackie won so many times. I just slayed Maj. Maybe my brain is coming back. Maybe that's what's happening. Probably not. I think I just had a good day.
6:00Jackie Oshry:Listen, some days you have it and some days you don't. Yeah, I'm so excited to Maj with my wits about me. I can't even tell you. I'm scared. And when I'm not sweating the whole time. Okay, but just so you know I wasn't breastfeeding. I was sweating the whole time yesterday too.
6:11Claudia Oshry:Maj is a sweaty game. It's a lot of brain activity. And I think that burns calories. Yeah. And stress. And it's a lot. Your body's working overtime. Except like the Maj snacking needs to stop. Like it's insane how much we snack. Yeah.
6:26Jackie Oshry:Like I sat down with a bowl of nonpareils. Like that's fucking crazy.
6:30Claudia Oshry:Yeah. For me, like that's my sweet treat. And I'm unlimited in what I can take down. But when I am like the good thing about when I Maj after I'm done breastfeeding is I'll have my wits but I won't be snacking like I won't have that I'll be hitting the fruit you know maybe a couple celery sticks you know I hate to be that girl but like we have so much to do today yeah the stories are not groundbreaking but interesting not groundbreaking okay you know what I mean yeah like they are just interesting little bits and bobs of what the peeps are up to um speaking of a conversation that would be a great title do you think people would want to listen to that episode.
7:08Claudia Oshry:Interesting little bits and bobs of what the peeps are up to. How about just bits and bobs? Is that clickbaity enough? Oh my God. We saw something yesterday. It was like one of our titles from, I don't even know when someone like wrote it out. Yeah. Couch potatoes deserve love too. Okay.
7:24Jackie Oshry:Title today. Couch potatoes deserve love too.
7:27Claudia Oshry:Part two.
7:28Jackie Oshry:And I think I know what we were referring to Kevin Federline. I'm sorry. There not two more funnier charitable individuals.
Read the full transcript
7:34Claudia Oshry:When I saw that, I was like, we titled something that? That's hysterical stuff.
7:39Jackie Oshry:Our titles are insane.
7:41Claudia Oshry:Yeah, we just, we get very, not to zoom out. Yeah, let's zoom, it's a Friday. It's just like when we do this show, like we just get very in the weeds with it and it's funny to see it at a glance sometimes. But I'm glad we chose that title because it was clearly such an impactful conversation.
7:55Jackie Oshry:I knew what we were talking about even today. It really summed up and I think it was about his memoirs. Yeah, he gets a really bad rap. But at the end of the day, yes, he's a couch potato who just lives off of Britney's child support. But he did raise those kids. Yeah. Just as a couch potato.
8:12Claudia Oshry:Memoirs of a Fetterline.
8:14Jackie Oshry:He's kind of an inspiration to me. That's goals for you? To be a successful parent who's also a full-time couch potato.
8:21Claudia Oshry:And who's getting money.
8:22Jackie Oshry:Yeah, passive income.
8:24Claudia Oshry:But like wherever it's coming from. I love that. Goals for women everywhere. Kevin Fetterline. inspiration businessman of the week oh my god next week we're gonna have to anoint another
8:36Jackie Oshry:business no what we had said was that let's not like hold ourselves to having to have a businessman every week because then the segment will become like annoying and anonymous when a businessman impresses us like he will replace his fellow but i have a businessman of the week i actually do who okay do not i forgot his name oh so he's definitely businessman of the week
8:58Claudia Oshry:I wonder who it is. It's Axel Dumas.
9:01Jackie Oshry:Who the hell is that? Okay, you're going to love this. He's the CEO of Hermes. Okay. Which, of course, we want Birkins. Oh, yeah, that's a great way to become. But he's like one of the very few people who was named several, several times in the Epstein files and is coming out looking like a hero. Epstein, like for like a couple years long period, became obsessed with meeting him. He was at like a play or something and he very quickly met him. And then he starts emailing everyone he knows, Woody and Soon-Yi. Lex, of course, being like, I need to meet with Axel Dumas. So there are a million emails of him emailing his assistant, telling his assistant what to say to Axel's assistant.
9:37Jackie Oshry:They get Axel's assistant's information from Woody and Soon-Yi. The assistant, it's like clearly, like so meticulously written, keeps avoiding him. Like does not want to be seen with him, does not agree to meet with him. Like multiple times over years long, like literally from like 2010 to 2014. he recently gave an interview saying he believes that Epstein was targeting him for something and he just he knew that he was a bad guy and just said no oh wow did you see the same is true for
10:03Claudia Oshry:Joe Rogan no Joe Rogan is in his name came up because Epstein wanted to meet him and one of the guests that Joe had on his show was trying to broker was trying like was gonna make the intro and Joe was like I don't want to meet him he's like I googled him and I was like yucky yeah it's
10:23Jackie Oshry:So crazy how there's like so few people who did it. Axel Dumas, CEO of Hermes. Now I feel good spending all that money.
10:29Claudia Oshry:Oh, let's go get Birkins. If only they would let us, you know.
10:32Jackie Oshry:Or perhaps the businessmen of the week could send us too. I'm looking. I think I'm ready for a Minnie Kelly. You know, I think. I'm ready for like a, seriously. I'm not talking. Axel, if you.
10:42Claudia Oshry:No, no, no. But like, if you're like, what would these girls like? I don't. I've just been introduced to them. I don't know them. Yeah.
10:47Jackie Oshry:I actually. I have a Minnie Kelly. I would like a Kelly like 25. Oh, we should do it. You do? Yeah. Okay. Color, I'm open for sure. I'm thinking gold hardware. You're so annoying. Yeah. Let's get a printed picture of Axel Dumas and we'll keep him in the frame until he sends us Perkins.
11:07Claudia Oshry:Okay. You guys, without further ado, ado, ado, ado, here are the fast five stories that you do need to know.
11:13Jackie Oshry:Today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by Croissant. Croissant helps you shop smarter by putting resale value back into shopping so you can buy better, not more. When you shop with croissant, you earn 10 % back, and you can resell your items later through croissant for even more value. So croissant rewards thoughtful shopping, not impulse buying. You're going to earn 10 % back when you shop and even more when you resell. Resale is built in. There's no listing. There's no haggling. And most importantly, there is no hassle. So it's really going to help you think about what things are worth.
11:42Jackie Oshry:As you guys know, as my cardboard cadets know, whatever we can do to be financially sound in this day and age is great. And croissant is such a great option. They work with fashion brands and retailers like Nordstrom, Revolve, Reformation, My Teresa, and hundreds of others. And it's going to help you just invest in things a little bit more wisely because you're going to start thinking about what things are worth, not just what they cost. So Croissant is an app. You can download the iOS app in the Apple App Store, and you can get 20 % back on your first purchase when you visit croissant.com to learn more.
12:13Jackie Oshry:So again, download the Croissant iOS app in the Apple App Store and get 20 % back on your first purchase. Visit Croissant.com to learn more. Croissant.com is spelled C-R-O-I-S-S-A-N-T.com. The iOS app is available to download in the Apple App Store. And head over to their website, Croissant.com, to learn more on how to get 20 % back on your first purchase. Today's episode is also brought to you by Branch Basics. Here's the thing about cleaning products. You use them every single day. They affect you, but also everything in your household. That includes children. That includes pets. On your counters, people eat.
12:45Jackie Oshry:You fold your laundry. and you need to be really sound of mind about what sort of cleaning products you're using. If you ever look at the ingredient list on some of the more OG products, you will be horrified at the amount of chemicals. It's not giving clean. It's not giving Jackie O approved. Well, enter Branch Basics, which has been a staple. I think a lot of people come to Branch Basics when they become moms, and then they just become staple products for all different cleaning essentials in their home. They change the issue of toxic chemicals and bad ingredients in our cleaning supplies. It's a female-founded brand that is redefining transparency.
13:15Jackie Oshry:They've eliminated toxins from our homes, starting with the products that we use the most. So the premium starter kit comes with a powerful concentrate, and that makes everything that concentrate. Laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, pet wash, even a vegetable rinse. So it's obviously much more economical because you're using the same concentrate for all the different products. It's a plant and mineral-based formula. It replaces really everything that you're currently using, and it's safe for babies, pets, and anyone wanting to reduce their daily exposure to harmful chemicals year-round.
13:43Jackie Oshry:If you are refreshing your home, your habits, or your health goals this year, this is a very simple swap and a really big impact. The good news is that Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop. Target, Target.com, Amazon, and of course, BranchBasics.com. Tossing the toxins has never been more convenient. And for anyone grabbing the premium starter kit, you can still get 15 % off at BranchBasics.com with our code TOAST. Just use code TOAST for 15 % off the premium starter kit at BranchBasics.com. After your purchase, when they ask where you heard about them, make sure to mention the toast.
14:11Jackie Oshry:Today's episode is also brought to you by hers. Have you ever left a doctor's appointment with results in hand and still no real understanding, like you don't even know what exactly to do next? It's very hard to be left guessing with what's going on in your body. Hers understands that, and especially that it's more often an issue for women. There are so many health concerns that a lot of us have that go really unanswered. As you guys know, women's medical research is heavily underfunded. Well, Hers understands. Hers is rethinking the outdated health care system to finally give women what they deserve, which is care that's convenient, supportive, and built around their real needs.
14:42Jackie Oshry:It's backed by experts in women's health. They now provide convenient access to in-depth holistic testing with more than 130 biomarker tests that give you meaningful insight into your health and results that make it easy to understand what's actually going on with your body. If you are eligible, you will get access to a doctor-developed action plan based on your results, which is more than most people do. But it also gives you diet and lifestyle guidance to help you move towards your goals. So if you've ever experienced any sort of women's issue, a lot of you guys know lifestyle and diet choices can make a huge difference in how you feel day to day.

16:56Claudia Oshry:Our first story is some sad news. Very, very sad news. Eric Dane, star of Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, has died at the age of 53, nearly one year after announcing his ALS diagnosis. This is so sad So sad Eric Dane AK McSteamy I don't know him from that
17:13Jackie Oshry:What do you know him from? I know him from Euphoria
17:17Claudia Oshry:But he's Like he definitely has Other smaller projects Euphoria was like a
17:20Jackie Oshry:Much later Like thing for him
17:23Claudia Oshry:Yeah but he's such a familiar face Let's do our
17:25Jackie Oshry:I feel like he was in like A Walk to Remember or something
17:27Claudia Oshry:Let's do our favorite activity IMDB And honor his body of work Shall we? I love that Marley and me Oh So good So Valentine's Day. Classic.
17:39Jackie Oshry:Everyone was in that, though. Yeah, it's like kind of embarrassing if you weren't.
17:43Claudia Oshry:Yeah. What else? I don't know these movies, but I'm so familiar with him. Yeah. He's just one of those people that - I guess like it's really Grey's Anatomy. I'm sorry, we're disgusting. Burlesque.
17:54Jackie Oshry:Oh, of course. Marshall. His name is Marshall, right?
17:57Claudia Oshry:X-P-R-E-S-S. Love. Oh, yeah.
18:07Claudia Oshry:Such a good movie. Left such an indelible mark.
18:12Jackie Oshry:Made better by Eric Dane's performance as like the chilling developer. And teaching us about air rights. Okay, raise your hand if you only know what air rights are because of the movie Burlesque and Eric Dane's body of work. Me. You wrecked it. I was like literally talking about air rights the other day. They're very important. No, especially in the city when like you buy apartments or like you rent apartments for views. Well, it's like, what are the air rights? Could like a big tower go right in front of my apartment?
18:36Claudia Oshry:I feel like you can't get air rights in New York City. It's like they're pre-established. Because everyone's just building everywhere. Yeah. But look out for air rights. Thank you, Eric Dane. Also, Euphoria. Grey's Anatomy, I think, is the biggest one. I think at one point in my life, I watched Grey's Anatomy because I'm like, I know McSteamy and McDreamy. I feel like I gave it a shot. You don't ever feel like that?
18:57Jackie Oshry:No, I know for a fact. And like, it's something I'm kind of proud of. It's like, I've never seen one minute of that show. Not even a clip. Like, nothing.
19:05Claudia Oshry:Nothing? Oh, I get a lot of clips now. Oh, sorry.
19:07Jackie Oshry:I've seen a clip.
19:08Claudia Oshry:Do you get those clips? I get a lot of medical show clips where someone comes in. For a diagnosis. It's like a four-minute clip and I have to watch the whole thing. Yeah, of course. I didn't realize that trend finally made its way to real. Oh, no, no. It's been happening for a while and I was losing a lot of time watching movies quickly on Instagram. That's why I started watching Young Sheldon.
19:27Jackie Oshry:From clips? Because I was getting full episodes in three separate clips. And I was like, you know what? The show looks kind of good. Interesting. Yeah, it inspires. And I'm sorry, I have seen a clip from Grey's Anatomy. There's like a famous episode where they like weirdly decide to make it a musical. You know, they've done so many episodes. You just like have to keep doing stuff. And Che, Sarah Ramirez, Che from And Just Like That, someone's like dying in the hospital. And she starts singing to them. All of these lines across my face. Like, don't ask me why I know that. I've never seen the show.
20:00Jackie Oshry:I don't know if she's like a regular or she's just made a cameo.
20:02Claudia Oshry:but all those lines across her face. I love that. And he was married to Rebecca Gayhart. Yeah.
20:08Jackie Oshry:I don't know who that is.
20:09Claudia Oshry:You don't? Yes, you do.
20:10Jackie Oshry:That's so sad. I saw a picture of his family, his two beautiful daughters, but I didn't recognize his wife.
20:17Claudia Oshry:You would know her. She's a famous actress and they are still married. She's in Jawbreaker. Oh, who does she play? She plays one of them girls. I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with it. She's on the left. She was like a sidekick. She was like one of the girls. Yeah.
20:35Jackie Oshry:I killed Liz. I killed. That movie was so fucking crazy. Yeah, it was. And very good.
20:42Claudia Oshry:So good.
20:43Jackie Oshry:Yeah. That was like a genre of like films we watched when we were kids that we were like a little too young to be watching. They were like old school. Like, why were we watching so many times? Don't tell mom and the babysitter's dad. Like that was a movie from like 10 years before we were born. I'm right on top of that, Rose. So good. So good. I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with that. She was so crazy for that. Who played the main girl, the killer?
21:04Claudia Oshry:Rose. Yes. Rose.
21:07Jackie Oshry:Rose. Me too, Rose.
21:10Claudia Oshry:No, not Rose Byrne. What's her name? I could look it up again. Hold on.
21:15Jackie Oshry:Well, that's so crazy that that's her. Like she shaved her head. Rose McGowan. Rose McGowan, yes. I killed Liz. I killed the teen dream. Deal with that.
21:24Claudia Oshry:Julie Greer is in it. Judy Greer. I love Julie too. That's her sister. What the fuck isn't Judy Greer in?
21:30Jackie Oshry:She's a queen. She's Lucy Greer now.
21:33Claudia Oshry:Oh, she's Lucy Wyman now.
21:36Jackie Oshry:Like seriously so sad about Eric. Yes, very, very sad.
21:39Claudia Oshry:ALS is so sad.
21:40Jackie Oshry:It is. And he came out with his diagnosis 10 months ago.
21:43Claudia Oshry:So it's been 10 months. I mean, we don't know how long he's been suffering. Is he in the upcoming season of Euphoria? So they're filming it currently? No, I think it's done because we saw a trailer. I have no idea. You're the Euphoria spokesperson. person. You covered the Euphoria beat. I literally covered the Euphoria beat. Yeah. Like you're our on the ground Euphoria reporter. Okay. Is Eric Dane in Euphoria season three? It's only going to be season three of the show that
22:11Jackie Oshry:everyone - Yes, he filmed a few episodes of the upcoming season three.
22:13Claudia Oshry:And whose dad does he play?
22:15Jackie Oshry:Nate. He's like, very toxic masculinity. Spoiler alert. He's also gay. Jacob Lorty? His dad. Oh, oh. So he's like, you got to be good at sports and fuck a lot of girls. And he's over here like, you know. Is he in the closet?
22:28Claudia Oshry:Yeah, of course. But like they found out at the end. Oh, okay. But he's not like living his life as a game. Like I haven't watched the show. So you're saying to me like he's gay. No, no. He has like a wife and a family. Oh.
22:39Jackie Oshry:And he just like, you know, cruises at night. Got it. Okay. With someone like the local teens.
22:44Claudia Oshry:God. Very inappropriate. That is inappropriate. Well, speaking of Jacob Elordi, our next story is about Jacob Elordi because he's allegedly been offered the role of James Bond. Okay. In Dennis Villeneuve's Bond 26. So a big question in pop culture, like who's the next Carrie Underwood? Who's the next James Bond? Why are we always talking about who's the next Carrie Underwood? Don't you feel like she's not always talking about who's the next Carrie
23:09Jackie Oshry:Underwood? She's not dead. When we talk about like, it's literally like Nashville, like rising stars. Yeah. We don't, I guess we sometimes say like, who's the next Taylor Swift? I guess. But like, I feel like as a society, we all do that. No, it's just us. Okay. I was just trying to like. No, it's us. It's us. We're the problem.
23:24Claudia Oshry:But everyone else is always asking who's the next James Bond. And they like never tell us. But I thought they chose Aaron. Yeah, the guy with the older wife. With the 50-year-old wife. I thought they chose him. Yeah, I think they did too. But maybe there's like a rival Bond because you said it's like Guillermo. It's called Bond 26. But yeah, as speculation continues over who will succeed Daniel Craig as 007, what about Aaron? Oh, several actors have been linked to the role, including our Aaron Taylor Johnson, Tom Holland. Oh, but that wasn't confirmed.
23:55Jackie Oshry:I'm sorry not to be mean, but like Tom Holland cannot be James Bond. Like you, I'm sorry. You can't be everything.
24:00Claudia Oshry:No, but they just like need other names to like fluff up the story. But they're doing Jeopardy. They're doing Jeopardy.
24:07Jackie Oshry:Now we need to come up with like a verb that me, like what Jeopardy did with their host, we're like, we were so excited to see like after Alex Trebek died, like who would pass the torch. They waited so long. They tried so many people. It's low key what Jenna and friends did. They did it too long. now with Bond where we all stopped caring. Like there was a time when we cared so much who was hosting Jeopardy, who was replacing Hoda, who was going to be Bond. And now like so many rumors, so many stories, years and years, I actually don't care anymore. And I don't think whoever's going to be Bond next, it's like Bond is over.
24:34Claudia Oshry:I'm in shock that Aaron Taylor Johnson didn't come out with the Bond movie. I thought the movie came out. Right, and now it's like the Bond after Johnson.
24:42Jackie Oshry:No, it's the Bond after Craig. Daniel Craig, which is literally so long ago. It's so long ago. And them making bonds with Daniel Craig while he was like seriously on life alert. Like they just they handled the whole thing poorly.
24:57Claudia Oshry:So what do you think about Jacob Elordi as the next James Bond?
25:01Jackie Oshry:Well, I mean, I actually like an obvious choice. Like, yeah. Is he British? Yeah, Australian. OK, so he has an accent. Oh, yeah. Sorry. Americans can't do it, even though Miles Teller's grandma said he could. Remember that? Well, if he said it, she said it. when people were talking about Miles Teller maybe it's one of my favorite toast clips we have to post it it's like from five years ago when Miles Teller was like his name was being thrown around back when like we were talking about Bond again literally five years ago people were talking about Miles Teller and like a lot of people were like he can't like he can't do it because he's American and his grandma took to Twitter being like well you know he could talk like British and it's like well yeah he's an actor
25:42Claudia Oshry:yeah I would support Miles Teller as Bond one thing about me I support Miles Teller period yeah so Jacob Elordi sure I mean it would be good for Olivia I do feel like even though Jacob they're not
25:55Jackie Oshry:no I like saw him he was spotted with another girl twice the same girl twice I feel like even though
25:59Claudia Oshry:Jacob has like a couple Olivia moved to New York City big projects under his belt like he's now Wuthering Heights Frankenstein yeah I just feel like his role like he's still up in the air
26:09Jackie Oshry:it's a little stifling like it's a full time thing I'm sure Daniel Craig did other projects, nothing impressive or remarkable. I saw him in a play that was so horrible. He did Knives Out. That was after Bond. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? In between Bond. Oh. You are Bond. It's your whole thing.
26:26Claudia Oshry:You don't do stuff outside of it. I think anyone would jump at the chance to just be Bond. That's all you're going to be.
26:32Jackie Oshry:You don't win Oscars or anything. So I feel like Jacob Lorty is on the Oscar track. Oh, fine.
26:36Claudia Oshry:It's very commercial. It's very Tom Cruise. I don't know. I'm worried about Jacob Lorty. I just feel like he doesn't have staying power. I can't explain it. Oh, you're worried about him?
26:43Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Well, maybe you should see Wuthering Heights because there's a lot of Oscar buzz saying this is his moment.
26:47Claudia Oshry:Oh, really? I guess I haven't seen him in anything since The Kissing Booth. So maybe that's why I'm worried. I'm like, what is he going to do next?
26:53Jackie Oshry:If he didn't get nominated for an Oscar from The Kissing Booth, he has no hope to ever because that was the greatest acting performance of all time. Especially in the movie, too, where he had to act like he didn't fucking hate Joey King after they broke up.
27:03Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
27:04Jackie Oshry:Like, the way that The Kissing Booth was the best movie I'd ever seen is crazy. Second to All the Boys I Loved Before. Well, you saw it before Tall the Boys.
27:13Claudia Oshry:And then after Tall the Boys, everyone was like, Kissing Booth stunk. And it's like, why can't they just both have been good?
27:17Jackie Oshry:The Kissing Booth started this like insane genre on Netflix where they had to like beat it dead for two years of like young adult, sometimes adapted from books, but not always. Always starring Jacob Lorty or Noah Centineo. And the paths that they both took are so different. Remember the one where he blind dates the girl? Sierra Burgess. Yeah, Sierra Burgess is the loser.
27:39Claudia Oshry:what about tall girl remember that one no where sierra burgess was tall it was about a tall girl i think that was the name of the movie okay tall girl you saw it that was such a crazy time do you remember like peter kaminsky yeah look it's called sabrina's in it she was a little
27:57Jackie Oshry:friend yeah i miss sabrina's acting era i know well she's gonna be allison wonderland actually is that confirmed yeah i thought it was like fan no i think it's pretty confirmed you
28:08Claudia Oshry:remember tall girl no i must have she was very tall oh actually i'm sorry of course i remember tall girl it just hit me like a truck i just want to say like in hindsight i'm sure we all were like i'm gonna watch tall girl tonight in hindsight that's like an insane name for her movie i know because it's just like her only thing was that she was tall and it's an insane concept and it's like okay we've made ya movies now let's make it tall no no and every like they were really
28:36Jackie Oshry:inclusive like there was a lot of representation like i remember like the korean community was obsessed with all the boys i love before like their cuisine was put on like everyone was like talking about like how amazing their snacks were remember those yogurts were selling out at like h marks across the country and so it's like then they had to do tall like it was crazy it was a crazy time i do think it slowed down oh yeah they don't make movies like that anymore but
28:56Claudia Oshry:i just want to say i loved that time yeah i loved those movies there was like almost 30 watching a
29:01Jackie Oshry:rush to make them yes yes it was like an avalanche they all like are mixed up in my mind except for
29:08Claudia Oshry:kissing booth and to all the boys i love before and like prom remember or f the prom no i feel like i've saw more of them than you did it was like madeline petch it's your genre bad movies and it's my favorite oh what was the one maybe it was prom no there was another one please help me no no no no no and we found it to be like a little anti-semitic
29:32Jackie Oshry:oh of course where the villain was of course we did oh Cammy Mendes
29:37Claudia Oshry:they went to like a private school in Miami
29:39Jackie Oshry:yeah yeah yeah Sophie Turner was in it right wait hold on let me look at Cammy Mendes' body and Sophie Turner and like the villain was like this like rich kid who was always wearing a Star of David necklace it was anti-semitic for sure oh do revenge wow With like Maya Hawke.
29:56Claudia Oshry:Oh yeah, Maya Hawke. Yeah. Cami Mendez was in a lot of these too. You know. Dream rule. Yeah. The perfect date. I think I was with Noah Centennial. There were so many Noah Centennial ones. Oh my God. That was so funny. That was funny. Are you ready for our next story that's actually kind of adjacent to what we're discussing? Okay. A new book adaptation has been cast. Emily's Henry's Beach Read Will Star Enough with Emily fucking Henry Will Star Phoebe Denver Whatever You didn't read Beach Read I did Which one was that? I read a lot of them They were on a beach in Michigan And there were neighbors She went back to her like home And she fixed it up Why wouldn't I have read Beach Read?
30:44Claudia Oshry:I read Happy People Beach Read was like the first That made Emily Henry really popular So then you read what came out next that was really buzzy.
30:52Jackie Oshry:People We Meet on Vacation
30:53Claudia Oshry:is where you started with her.
30:55Jackie Oshry:Yeah, maybe. I mean, I could check my Goodreads. Actually, you know what I will? What was it called?
30:58Claudia Oshry:Beach Read. You didn't read it. I know you didn't. Really? How do you know?
31:01Jackie Oshry:Because I'm always like, I liked Beach Read, and you're like, I didn't read it. Really? I feel like I hated it.
31:06Claudia Oshry:I actually liked it. I remember chuckling a couple times. It's like totally cute.
31:11Jackie Oshry:No, I didn't read it.
31:12Claudia Oshry:Rom-com.
31:13Jackie Oshry:I've just had enough of Emily Henry. Like, somebody lied to everyone. I don't know why everyone's been brainwashed to thinking any of these books are good. I actually liked The People We Meet on Vacation movie. So that bodes well for Beach Read movie. Okay, so Phoebe Dinever, and then who's the romantic lead?
31:30Claudia Oshry:We don't know yet, but how do you feel about Phoebe Denver?
31:34Jackie Oshry:Why are you saying her name like that?
31:35Claudia Oshry:I'm trying different ways. There's a lot of letters in her last name.
31:40Jackie Oshry:Dinever?
31:41Claudia Oshry:How do you spell it?
31:42Jackie Oshry:D-Y-N-E-V-O-R. Dinever. Denver. Diamond of the season. She kind of fell off, don't you feel? Like we always talk about how like Rajay Jean-Paul fell off because he left that show to like pursue other things. Well, really, she stayed and it didn't really do much for her. Maybe there's a Bridgerton curse. Yeah, I kind of feel that. Same with Game of Thrones. No, the second season, the lead, Kate, her name was Kate or is her name Kate in real life? A very beautiful girl. She also went nowhere. Simone Ashley.
32:10Claudia Oshry:The Viscount Who Loved Me? Simone Ashley. Is that the Viscount Who Loved Me? But Jonathan Bailey. But he was famous before. But Jonathan Bailey.
32:15Jackie Oshry:He was famous before. He had a huge like a theater career. Was he? Yeah, he was. He was. You'll be happy to be there. Dancing through life down at the Oz Dust. If only because dust is what we come to. Nothing matters. But knowing nothing matters. Dancing through life. Literally the best scene in that first movie. When he was like taking the soundtrack again. I always listen to dancing. Oh, my God. When he was like twinkle toes on that wood plank. I literally like that was the happiest I've ever been since be our guest in Beauty and the Beast.
32:55Claudia Oshry:Also for this movie, it's the same director. So they're kind of like copy pasting people we meet on vacation. OK, you know what? I think it's good.
33:01Jackie Oshry:People we meet on vacation was hella cute.
33:03Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I think we're like just like we were in like we used to be in like the YA romance movie hole. I think right now we're in like the YA book adaptation hole. That's fine.
33:13Jackie Oshry:Can we just choose some other authors? Like there are so many good books out there. Yeah.
33:16Claudia Oshry:Like Megan Quinn. Like somebody adapt a Megan Quinn book if you care. What's Megan Quinn? She's like smut queen. Like everybody thinks Tessa Bailey.
33:23Jackie Oshry:No.
33:24Claudia Oshry:And where does it happen one summer? Where's our movie? Where are all the books that like got adapted? I don't know.
33:31Jackie Oshry:And why do like particular ones make it to the finish line when others don't?
33:34Claudia Oshry:I don't know.
33:35Jackie Oshry:I wish I understood like how this worked more.
33:37Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Are you ready for our next story? It's some more like content news. Okay. Chelsea Handler is going to develop a Hulu comedy series about a washed up reality star. So Hulu is developing a comedy series from Zoe Young that has Chelsea Handler attached to executive produce and potentially star. The potential series is called Townhouse. Per the official logline, the show follows a washed up reality star and her live in entourage of misfits as they scramble to rehab her image and reboot her career. When her estranged daughter unexpectedly moves into their crumbling Manhattan townhouse, the TV husband is confronted with the one role she spent her entire life avoiding, motherhood.
34:14Jackie Oshry:Now, I've got five words for you. Cut Sonia Morgan, her check, clearly inspired by her life story. Don't you think? The townhouse? Come on. I guess just the townhouse. Reality star, washed up band of misfits, like all of her interns. Yeah. Like this is so Sonia Morgan coded. Oh, I guess.
34:32Claudia Oshry:You don't think so? No, because like she became a reality star in the townhouse. Okay, it's not a perfect. No, but I don't like, no, because I just don't, no, it doesn't feel that way to me.
34:42Jackie Oshry:Because you always like don't support my calls.
34:44Claudia Oshry:No, but sometimes like when you scratch, when your call scratches the itch, I'll let you know.
34:49Jackie Oshry:Sure, because I support your calls and you don't support mine. Do you want blind support for your calls? No, I just think you don't see me. I know we're having, we had this conversation already. You just don't see me. That's why you don't see my calls. But I see you from the inside out and everything you say I agree with because I see you. so why don't you agree that that call's not good that what that call's not good because the call's coming from inside the house bitch this sounds cute yeah cute like throw back to chelsea handler i like you know forgot but no she doesn't act does she no she's like a commentator so this would be her foray into acting this reminds me of sorry you know what it reminds me of that show
35:26Claudia Oshry:that you loved with the brothers? Let me think.
35:30Jackie Oshry:The show that I love. Oh, with the siblings, the other two. Yeah. Five words. Bring back the other two. I can't. Did you ever watch it? Yeah, I watched some of it. Fucking hysterical. Yeah. That was such a weird, I know they had like an investigation, toxic workplace. Like seriously, I don't give a fuck. Like, I don't give a fuck. Is that what happened? Yeah, there was like, it ended so abruptly and it wasn't the biggest show ever on HBO, but it was pretty big and it had a really like insane following. And it seemed so random because it was gaining a lot of momentum. That's also why. Like the first season was good and then the second season was really, you know.
36:04Jackie Oshry:And so a show with so much momentum, like why you would nip it in the bud? They have so much crap on HBO. And then there was like a report that there was an investigation into the showrunner and like the show was a toxic workplace and yada yada, harassment, one or the other.
36:16Claudia Oshry:But does it not remind you of this a little bit? The vibe?
36:19Jackie Oshry:Kind of, just because it's what, like about the industry?
36:22Claudia Oshry:Yeah, and like, you know. I love shows that are about the industry. That's downtrodden industry discards. Yeah.
36:27Jackie Oshry:Well, yeah, yeah. Industry discards. I love that. I love shows about the industry, like Entourage, obviously. Hacks. Hacks. Like, that's a little bit more satirical. I love shows about the industry. You should watch Industry.
36:39Claudia Oshry:No, because that's about a different industry, like finance. What industry? Are you sure?
36:43Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. I watched the first episode of Industry. I told you I also got confused because I thought it was the first episode of... What's the Apple one with Adam that everybody loves? oh in the boxes yes in the boxes no I watched the first episode of severance no no sorry I watched the first episode of industry and then I went on the podcast and told everyone did I watch the first episode of severance and they were like are you sure you watch the show I'm like yeah the guy like was doing drugs um it was industry was a show that like made me never like want to watch tv ever again it was so pit inducing in the worst way yeah I feel like they love a strong drama
37:23Claudia Oshry:with a strong title, like succession, you know?
37:26Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
37:27Claudia Oshry:Industry.
37:28Jackie Oshry:Severance. Yeah, one word of like a word you have to Google.
37:31Claudia Oshry:They're literally making shows on thesaurus.com. They're like coming up with the name and then making a show around it. I love that.
37:40Jackie Oshry:What was the story?
37:40Claudia Oshry:Oh yeah, Townhouse. Some exciting content. So very content heavy day. A lot of upcoming excitement. I can't wait for half of these things to never air. Right. Because that's like, we're still waiting on Legally Blonde 3 written by Mindy Kaling. Right. It's supposed to be coming two summers ago. Don't we have a list of like things we're waiting for? We were waiting for Confessions of a Female Founder. It came and went. Let me search Lemonada. That's usually how I can find the things we're waiting for.
38:03Jackie Oshry:We're always waiting for It Happened One Summer book adaptation. Oh, I saw a commercial yesterday for Regretting You, Colleen Hoover adaptation. I like how that one's not really being promoted. I guess she's like scarred. It looked really turnt. Like it's giving lifetime smut. she like goes to jail and loses custody of her daughter and then moves back to the town to be near the daughter and her father and of course her and the father and the WNC.
38:26Claudia Oshry:I just search list on my phone like it's such a wormhole.
38:29Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I can't.
38:29Claudia Oshry:I saw like perfect casting Juanita Solis.
38:33Jackie Oshry:Wasn't perfect casting. Where did they find her? Oh, Demi Lovato's sister.
38:37Claudia Oshry:No, but it's like it just goes so deep.
38:40Jackie Oshry:And I feel like when we're having the conversation about nepotism we often do not talk about how important of a thing it is because it gave us Juanita Solis.
38:46Claudia Oshry:Yeah. When done right, chef's kiss. because you know not anybody could have played that character traits are genetic right so when done right i support it it's not all bad all the time only when it comes to ben platt did you see ben platt is like jacked he's been gone for a while and then like his husband posted a picture of him in the gym like he's enormous now i have to go look yeah and actually actually ben platt isn't all bad all the time because he is talented no that's the unfortunate thing about being ben Platt's number one fucking hater is that you have to acknowledge that not only is he probably one of
39:21Jackie Oshry:the most talented vocalists of our time, but his debut album, like they don't make music like that. In case you don't live forever, let me tell you now. I love you more than you'll ever wrap your head around in case you don't live forever let me tell you the truth i'm everything that i am because of you you know isn't that about his parents thank you so much for bringing that up he's like walks all over i think they're like like estranged now right yeah i'm so curious about the platt family dynamics because like they're all low-key like famous in their own circles like Jonah Platt is like probably one of the most we were at like a we were playing with a bunch of Jewish girls like do you follow Jonah Platt he's like our hero he's like Theodore Herzl of our time like we're obsessed with him like every Jewish girl is obsessed with Jonah Platt Mark Platt is like one of the biggest producers like if you're in production you know him and then there was like the drama with Rachel Zegler and then of course Ben Platt so they all operate in like three different universes but I just know like they all fucking hate each other yeah yeah
40:29Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but then he writes that song.
40:31Jackie Oshry:Like, I don't know how Joda Platt doesn't hate him.
40:33Claudia Oshry:Might have been before he, like, was radicalized and he, like, loved his parents. Yeah. And he loved his heritage. And before he lost all of that. It's the same with, like,
40:44Jackie Oshry:Alex Edelman. You know he hates his brother.
40:47Claudia Oshry:Who's his brother? He's an Israeli Olympian. Oh, is it not Julian Edelman?
40:51Jackie Oshry:It's not Julian Edelman, no. They're just, like, kind of, like. And he's a comedian, Alex Edelman? Yes. Who's dating Anna Kendrick. Right. Yeah, it's all coming back to you now. I just know he hates his brother, and I know his brother thinks he's a lowlife, like a Hollywood. Like, I just, I have the feeling, you know? I wonder if Ben Platt and Alex Edelman get together and talk about, like, their brothers who they find embarrassing. Their shared interests. Yeah. Their Zionist brothers.
41:14Claudia Oshry:Yeah, right. Our fifth and final story is going to lead into Traders Recap.
41:19Jackie Oshry:Oh, okay. So, our Traders Recap, our TV Recap, and just, like, all things about good television. The back half of this show. Is brought to you by America's Next Top Model. How perfect. Okay, so let's talk about the documentary that really everyone's talking about. If you were live between 2003 and 2012, this show was unavoidable. And if you were like just swirly, if you're listening to this show, like you were definitely raised by America's Next Top Model. It was appointment television, sleepover culture, screaming at your TV while, you know, Tyra was screaming at someone. We learned smizing. Not a lot of people know like the origins of smizing.
41:52Jackie Oshry:Can I see yours? Your best one? It's actually very hard, but yeah.
41:57Claudia Oshry:But look at me. I love it. Do?
42:02Jackie Oshry:I don't think that was so good.
42:04Claudia Oshry:That's so rude. See? You don't support my calls. You don't support my attempts at smizing.
42:09Jackie Oshry:America's Next Top Model was iconic, chaotic, and honestly kind of unhinged. For better or for worse, it did shape an entire era of pop culture and really raised a generation of women. So truly, for better or for worse is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. This was a show that asked one simple question. How far are you willing to go to be on top? You want to be on top. And sometimes apparently what the answer was apparently very far emotionally physically spiritually sometimes even cosmetically if you remember this wasn't just about modeling it was about a full body transformation mind body and spirit.
42:35Jackie Oshry:This was about trauma bonding in a house with zero privacy. It was about being told you had dead eyes and then immediately having to walk on a runway in six inch heels while pretending you weren't internally spiraling. But we all watched religiously. What's wild is that at the time we all just accepted it right like the judging panels the eliminations the insane transformations the way Tyra would send someone home after delivering a monologue that belonged in a Shakespearean tragedy. It was camp.
42:56Claudia Oshry:It was drama.
42:57Jackie Oshry:It was psychological warfare disguised as reality TV. And that's why the new documentary is so fascinating, why so many people are talking about it. We're getting a full behind the curtain look at the hit show that shaped a generation, not just from fans or commentators, but from the people who were actually there. The judges, Tyra, Tyra Banks, J. Manuel, Nigel Barker. These names. Oh, my God. When we were in high school, we saw Nigel Barker at a restaurant, right? Yeah. And we got Mr. Chow for like someone's birthday. And we have a picture with him. And what about Jill Ben-Simon? The Kelly Ben-Simon of it all.
43:23Jackie Oshry:Miss J. Alexander, Top Models, and more are all featured in an explosive new documentary about the show. It's called Reality Check and Inside America's Next Top Model. It's now playing on Netflix. When they say explosive, they mean it. They're really pulling back the curtain on what happened behind the scenes, the pressure, the production choices, the emotional toll, and the cultural impact of a show that was both groundbreaking but deeply chaotic. So you're going to hear from former contestants, the judges themselves, and you'll see how certain moments were created, edited, and framed for TV.
43:45Jackie Oshry:And suddenly things that you thought were just good reality TV start to feel very different when you understand the full context. It's giving a lot of perspective, accountability, and really showing how much we personally let slide in the 2000s. It'll make you reflect on how much reality TV has evolved since then. And because America's Next Top Model walked so every competition show could run, it really normalized the idea that you could be made or broken on national television. It taught us the phrases like Smize. It made us think that cover girl contract was literally the only thing that mattered in life.
44:12Jackie Oshry:And it definitely made us all attempt at least one fierce mirror pose in our bedroom. The documentary doesn't shy away from the hard stuff either. It's all about emotional manipulation, controversial challenges, moments that did not age well. So it's going to have you reconsidering what it cost people to create something that became such a massive cultural phenomenon. So whether you are a day one watcher, a casual fan or someone who just quotes, we were rooting for you. It's one of those documentaries that pulls you right back in. It's nostalgic. It's revealing and it's messy in the best way. Go watch Reality Check Inside America's Next Top Model now playing on Netflix.
44:43Claudia Oshry:Oh, go watch. It's been time for The Reckoning.
44:46Jackie Oshry:Oh, yeah. The Reckoning is here. Today's episode of The Toast is brought to you by First Day. Most parents are not aware that actually 50 % of kids are suffering from hidden hunger. So hidden hunger can come from picky eating, processed snacks, even a lack of nutrient-rich soil in the fruits and veggies that they eat. So if you have a picky eater or a kid who only wants to eat chicken nuggets, you're likely going to experience big emotions, frequent outbursts, trouble concentrating, and not being able to stay calm. First day makes clean science-backed multivitamins for kids, teens, and adults. They're very transparent about what goes into their products. So there's no added sugar, no artificial ingredients, no fake dyes, no crushed bones.

And then we'll talk about Trader.
48:01Claudia Oshry:So Lisa Rinna has been spilling some tea about the reunion. She had said last week, I saw a quote from her that she had said that like it all goes down pretty much like justice is served. I heard that like Colton walks off and then she brings up the stalker. So she clarified the rumor that Colton stormed out of the reunion. She said, well, this is what she said. That wasn't how she understood it. She said, I didn't see it myself. I saw him leave, but I saw other people leave too to go to the bathroom and such. But it took a long time for people to come back that I can share with you. But let's put it on the record because they probably won't air it.
48:29Claudia Oshry:Right. I said, Colton, I have a question for you. What did you mean when you said I'm going to take her hostage? I'm dying. Lisa's so funny. She read tweets and research. And you know what? I appreciate that. That's all I said. And that spun him out that she said.
48:42Jackie Oshry:Okay. Obsessed. It's just reminding me of like how many interesting people were on the show.
48:47Claudia Oshry:How good the show used to be.
48:48Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Like I was watching so passively, even though I had low expectations for the episode, just because like quite literally not one person there do I care about. I don't even know who I'm rooting for anymore. I'm kind of rooting for Mark Ballas. Like I don't even know who the fuck I'm rooting for.
48:59Claudia Oshry:No, I think Mark Ballas is actually like, well, he did say. Sorry. The worst one. Say it with me. Three. Wait, hold on. Oh, three. Well, the worst faithful or the worst? The worst person on the show right now.
49:11Jackie Oshry:Three, two, one. Tara. I'm sorry. What Tara did last night was so awful. But she was so close. I'm not not rooting for her and Johnny. I understand you don't want to get off the show because more episodes is good. So you're afraid to say something. But at this point, there's one or two more episodes left. Why is she so afraid to take even the smallest of risks?
49:29Claudia Oshry:I think she was afraid to get it wrong and be the leader of the charge. No one wants the responsibility of making the choices and being the one that got it wrong. And I think last week when she did it to Steven, she did not like how it felt. And so even though like all day she's and I think Tara's like a sweet person. So I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she didn't leave Natalie out to dry just because. But I think all day she's like really playing the game, theorizing, whatever. But when it comes to like actually making accusations and pointing fingers at the table, like she doesn't want to be the one to do that.
49:58Claudia Oshry:She's also not good at it.
50:00Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I'm sorry. When we talk about like the biggest weenies, it also cannot be understated Maura. I mean, if Maura isn't like such a stereotype, like how little it takes for you to blindly like she wouldn't even consider the conversation and then ran back and told him. I mean, it's so like.
50:19Claudia Oshry:She's such a loser, like. And also at this point, you need to just look at who's left and who when Natalie keeps saying, why am I still here? Who's keeping me around? It's because you do want voices of people who support you because they'll always vote for you like Rob knows he can count on Maura's vote he can count on Mark's vote he up until this week could count on Natalie's vote and so when they're accusing Natalie of sending home gamers because that would throw us all off no like if she were a traitor you need those voices of support because the deck is stacked when you have people who believe you and who want to go with you just like if Johnny was a traitor Tara would always go with him so like their logic was so off they don't know which road to walk down and they refused to like really look into why Candace was throwing out Rob's name so I was glad to see that Mark was like yeah that was a red flag for me too but mark is like probably the least intuitive one there because at least tara throughout like had the thought of rob and brought rob to the table and i think johnny said at this point i think it's rob and eric i could see being like at least someone's like close i know but they
51:17Jackie Oshry:just they guess everyone and now there's so few people left i'm not even finding it impressive
51:21Claudia Oshry:that somebody said tara somebody said rob it must be really weird to be in a room where like everyone's trying to figure out who the traitor is and there you know that one or two are among you and like you actually can't trust anyone that you're talking to like i imagine it really is a mind fuck at this point plus they're in like you know a bubble closed like i think it really gets to be very and you're the goal is to like be paranoid and be suspicious i think it really
51:44Jackie Oshry:starts to like eat at you do they know how many traitors are left no but they do know that people turn. They do, yeah.
51:52Claudia Oshry:So they're saying like one or two left.
51:54Jackie Oshry:It's incredibly lame of Rob to be riding so hard for Eric because the reason he threw Lisa under the bus was because Lisa was getting suspicious. She was like a liability. Eric sucks at being a traitor. He's such a liability. The first round table he went to, Kristen was on to him and now Mark was on to him after last night. So the way he's like so not throwing Eric under the bus is very suspicious.
52:13Claudia Oshry:And I don't understand why they're not more suspicious of Eric like I can make the case for why no one there is a trade like Johnny and Tara I think are safe Natalie people really started to believe she's not a traitor they just voted for her because like because what else they got confused no because they're afraid nobody seems to think Mark is a traitor for whatever reason they trust Rob even when confronted with maybe it's Rob they're like no it's not Rob why like to me Eric is the most obvious traitor there's no reason to argue why he's not a traitor he doesn't throw anyone he's just like coasting the whole time.
52:45Claudia Oshry:Also, Mark, literally Kristen said, if I get killed tonight, it's Eric. And now Mark is like, well, maybe it's, you know, to throw me off to think it was Eric.
52:55Jackie Oshry:Kristen literally told if I go home tonight. And Mark didn't want to tell anybody that he didn't want to bring it up at
53:01Claudia Oshry:the round table. I don't know. And also it's like they're they're like, why did Candace throw out Rob's name? And it's like if they would just go one step further and be like, well, when Lisa, the first time she threw it out is when Rob went for Lisa and Lisa wound up being a traitor. that must have made can't that's when rob started turning on his fellow traitors right if rob is the traitor then he went for candace and candace was leaving crumbs they just like there's it's right
53:23Jackie Oshry:there no but they don't really have the courage to go there even if they were able to put it all together they would be able to explain it away really the round table i say this every week it's the show is so fascinating because it's seriously a sociological experiment to see all these people like have actual concerns legitimate concerns about rob not voice them and get so rob Rob sitting there smiling when the conversation now becomes a fight between Tara and Natalie. Like it's so just silly and funny how humans like are easily manipulated by people.
53:54Claudia Oshry:And I also think it's not good for women.
53:56Jackie Oshry:Maura?
53:57Claudia Oshry:Maura, but also Tara and Natalie like getting distracted. They were aligned on Rob and they had really good reasons for Rob. And instead they start like infighting with each other. Yeah, but I think the Maura thing is more embarrassing.
54:08Jackie Oshry:Like Maura couldn't, would not even entertain the conversation. Like she's so like, she's like swooning. Yeah. But they're not even in love. When she fucking finds out. I don't think she's even going to care. I don't think she's taking this very seriously. Right. And that's why it's weird that she's still there. Who do you think? I appreciated her saying that being like, I don't know why I'm still here. I'm not good at this game. So like, why are you crying Tara?
54:31Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Who do you think they'll kill tonight?
54:33Jackie Oshry:Is everyone an option?
54:35Claudia Oshry:Except for, yeah. Except for Eric.
54:37Jackie Oshry:Um, I think that they should kill Mark. because that's their ally. I know they then lose a vote, but it really makes them look very innocent.
54:47Claudia Oshry:I think they look more innocent if they kill Maura because people would think Rob would never kill Maura. Right, right. But they shouldn't kill Maura because she will always vote with Rob. He needs her vote. Right. So if you kill Tara or Johnny, then you're kind of like the whole opposition is gone.
55:02Jackie Oshry:No, not only that. If you kill Tara or Johnny, that makes like Johnny's not a faithful. And I think whatever Tara is, Johnny is and whatever Johnny is, Tara is. So you're then getting rid of two distractions.
55:11Claudia Oshry:No, but at this point, they don't need distractions anymore. Like if they get rid of Tara or Johnny, he will still have the vote from Mark and Maura, Eric. Well, sorry, what happens next? There's no more roundtables. So I guess the Faithfuls have one more shot. This is just me guessing. Have one more shot at guessing the traitors. They like put it in and then all will be revealed. Then the game is over. And so if they... Is next week the finale? I think so. Yeah. Okay, good. It's enough. It is enough. So I think, honestly, they just have to kill Tara or Johnny because Eric, Rob, Mora, and Mark.
55:44Mark is like 75 % Team Rob.
55:48Claudia Oshry:He might have to be the one to save everyone. But I think they'll never get Mora to flip. And so if he goes against the group, I think it's kind of, the game is won already. By Rob.
56:00Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Yeah. Rob had a moment of reflection. First of all, Rob lashing out at the carnival was weird.
56:06Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
56:06Jackie Oshry:But then he had like a moment of reflection for the first time. Like, you know, the sociopath was like, I feel bad for all the people I'm hurting. I actually did not buy it.
56:14Claudia Oshry:I think that Rob will get them all to turn on Eric and they'll banish Eric. They'll have gotten a traitor. But Rob was still in their midst.
56:21Jackie Oshry:Well, I think that that would probably be the best thing for Rob, because I think people are like, you couldn't go to bat for your tried and true traitors. Like the second things got hard, you dumped Lisa. But this rando Eric walks in at the 11th hour and you're like fighting for him. it actually makes him look really bad and really misogynistic like yes but i think he needs his
56:41Claudia Oshry:vote yeah you know because if if eric got out if he worked it so eric got banished instead of natalie natalie's not a sure vote for team rob right she already started going for rob so she had to go her speech made me so upset like first of all i can't believe she was in that dress all day with
56:59Jackie Oshry:the heels like i know so i read about the schedule like you do full glam by yourself in the morning You go to the castle all day. You change there for the challenge into like running clothes. You get back to the castle, put back on your outfit. Like I think you're allowed to touch up your makeup a little bit. And then the round table goes into the wee hours of the night. I was so uncomfortable for her in the dress and the shoes. Yeah. And then she gives this speech about how like she's always wanted to be strong. And now she feels like it was like her greatest asset. And then people here like used it against her.
57:28Jackie Oshry:And she's a faithful.
57:29Claudia Oshry:No. And when they're like, I think you're a traitor. You're very smart. You're very strong. You're good at the game. It's like, just because I'm smart doesn't mean I'm a traitor. Like, so all faithfuls are dumb. Not only that, like, you don't achieve traitor status.
57:41Jackie Oshry:It's just given to random people. So being smart, it's not like you earned it.
57:44Claudia Oshry:Right. So like, okay, because I'm smart. And because I'm smart, you guys want to get rid of me when I could maybe help you.
57:50Jackie Oshry:It's very hard to judge everyone because I just know if my ass was in this house, like I'd be dumber than all these people. I have no idea what I would be. I think it's so hard. I don't think I would be good at it. I think you're right that like only a true sociopath as a faithful or a traitor can be successful. Like it's so, like I'm being very judgmental of everyone. Like you're dumb,
58:07Claudia Oshry:you're stupid, you're bad, you're ugly. I would be worse. No, I think that it's hard to be a really good trader. I don't, I respect Rob's gameplay, but I think for the faithfuls, it's a bit of luck and like going unnoticed and just being like unremarkable. Until a certain point. Cause then you've been like so quiet the whole time.
58:24Jackie Oshry:That was like Lisa Rinna.
58:25Claudia Oshry:Yeah. No, but you can't do that as Lisa. Yeah. Right. Right. Mark Ballas. It's like a perfect example.
58:31Jackie Oshry:Even like Donna Kelsey. Like she engaged with no one because she was like afraid. And they got her in like week two.
58:36Claudia Oshry:Yeah. No. So it's really kind of like luck, like who they're going to try and focus on. Except Rob is a skillful player. And it's like Colton got banished or like, you know, halfway through the game or whatever. Would we say he was a good player even though he left early? I would say he was great. So it's like weird. The best players aren't there.
58:52Jackie Oshry:You know, it's like you aren't rewarded. Like the people who make it far aren't the best players. They're lucky or unremarkable. And that's boring. that's the fatal flaw of the show like the people that we're left with now imagine if like the remaining six was like rinna candace michael rapaport like colton donna kelsey like everyone it was a good cast yeah who we were left with like that's just the fatal flaw of the game yeah it is why like why were the first three episodes like the best tv i've ever seen in my life because it was a lot of different people a lot of characters a lot of personalities and i know the secret trader thing was like kind of dumb but I did really like when people would get on the the circle that I didn't know what they were gonna say like now I know what everyone's gonna say and I'm like yeah stick it to them Natalie but it was a little thrilling to be like is Donna the secret trader like not knowing who for the audience I always wonder what the show would be like and how
59:45Claudia Oshry:how I would be as an audience member if I didn't know who the traders were would I be able to guess so that was try it one season I didn't think it was Donna I didn't think it was done I thought it
59:55Jackie Oshry:They were being like disgusting.
59:55Claudia Oshry:For sure, Colton. Like elder abusers. Yeah. And this poor old lady. Yeah, I thought it was for sure Colton. Yeah.
1:00:02Jackie Oshry:And then Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which was really like, I was like not like loving the episode. I thought it was kind of boring until Denise showed up. I thought that was like the most fascinating conversation in reality TV history. One, because like Denise's time on the show, I believe was cut short. I think the women really did her dirty. And it was very interesting because she remained friends with like a couple like Garcelle. And I guess she kept in contact with Erica. And like now we know why Erica was like so moved by Denise's story. I was so shocked. Like when Erica spoke up. Like I was shocked.
1:00:32Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I wasn't sure if it was the boy. The man. Sorry boy. One of my three. The man that she's dating. Is that what she was referring to? Was it like how much time has passed? But then she said no now she's dating someone else. So it was the relationship before that.
1:00:43Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Who we don't know who she's been dating in the years since Tom. It was so crazy.
1:00:49Jackie Oshry:First of all, Denise's stories about being abused after her facelift.
1:00:53Claudia Oshry:Oh, my God.
1:00:54Jackie Oshry:On the toilet. Like, fucking crazy. I fucking hate Eric. You can't walk. Like, you can't go to the bathroom. You can't wipe yourself. Would you be more vulnerable?
1:01:01Claudia Oshry:No.
1:01:01Jackie Oshry:And that's how she knew. Like, before the next surgery, she wanted, like, insane. She looked amazing. Yeah. And I love the transparency about facelifts.
1:01:09Claudia Oshry:No, that was frightening. And then out of left field, Erica says, it happened to me. Yeah, well, Erica was being so supportive. And, like, she knew just what to say. And like she couldn't have been a better friend in that moment. And then, yeah, then she shared like that she knows how she feels because it's happened to her. And that was just so sad. Sutton was also just like so there and like.
1:01:28Jackie Oshry:And I want to say I thought it was very appropriate that Sutton got choked up in her confessionals. Like when someone shares that with you, like you crying, stop. Like that's inappropriate. But it's such a heavy thing. And I thought it was like a real. Just like a very graceful response from like to be there and supportive and ask questions, but not be like overly emotional. but then clearly like it's a shocking thing to hear in her confessionals like getting choked up
1:01:49Claudia Oshry:about it yeah i feel like all the women at least this season are really good at being there for each other like even erica has more like legal drama and like they've all reached out yeah that
1:01:58Jackie Oshry:sucks it sucks because she's just like digging herself out of the hole that tom left her in and she's working so hard and it's like almost all for nothing because all of it has to go to her legal bill that's terrible um so i i would love to have denise back on the show i loved her when she was on i thought the women mistreated her so poorly kyle kyle doesn't get enough hate for that like she was so awful leaving the charge against denise yeah of course but erica was erica is still
1:02:23Claudia Oshry:best friends with rinna yeah they were best friends on the show after the show it was a real friendship yeah so i think but i think like denise hates rinna of course yeah so erica's like in the
1:02:33Jackie Oshry:middle oh now watching those old clips of erin like i know it's the hand crushing thing i hadn't
1:02:39Claudia Oshry:seen that before i i i remember seeing it and then it was just like that explained like it was just
1:02:45Jackie Oshry:like oh yeah it was a bad moment yeah and like men who get really involved it's always nefarious like it's fucking weird yeah especially season one i never honestly i never said i just remember i
1:02:57Claudia Oshry:don't remember exactly everything they did but i just remember thinking like denise and aaron were
1:03:00Jackie Oshry:such a great couple it was supportive of one another like yeah yeah it's especially after
1:03:04Claudia Oshry:know charlie and then when denise said he makes charlie look like an angel it's true because when
1:03:09Jackie Oshry:i watched charlie's documentary and like his greatest crime was that he was self-destructive like he never really heard denise was in the documentary i think like she he was a terrible husband but i think she loves him and like they still try to actively co-parent and they have a good relationship like he's worse than charlie yeah for sure shocking um the episode was like kind of boring otherwise like love to see the ladies at surf lodge oh i loved the hamptons
1:03:32Claudia Oshry:watching like to re-get her flirt on was so cute. Was that guy 26 or 40?
1:03:38Jackie Oshry:I don't know. Xander?
1:03:39Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Like he didn't look 26 and he didn't look 40. He looked both. He actually looked both 26 and 40. I could have lived without like the whole thing. Why aren't all the girls there? It's a weird trip. And it really looked like they were having true fun.
1:03:53Jackie Oshry:Yeah. It's like a perfect summer. They do two trips on Housewives, like a small one, like always like a little bit more local. And then they're going to Italy.
1:04:00Claudia Oshry:But they already did. Oh yeah. Where'd they go? santa barbara or like san antonio oh no arizona uh sedona some whatever to say they did to scone
1:04:11Jackie Oshry:they did a local trip and then they do a big trip but yeah they could have done like a mid-sized trip where they all went to the hamptons and we're all at surf lodge and we're all going shopping like would be amazing yeah and then it looks like next week like kyle calls bows being like i'm
1:04:24Claudia Oshry:really concerned about dirty because she's shopping she by the way erica's giving real empath this
1:04:29Jackie Oshry:season like even her conversation with amanda which was the first time i heard amanda speak and I didn't like hate everything she said and like thought she was the worst. She's just coming, she's approaching the season with like a lot of, you know, feelings. Yeah. And like understanding. It's nice.
1:04:42Claudia Oshry:She's like really like a rock solid friend. Yeah, I feel like she's just like a rock solid person.
1:04:47Jackie Oshry:Oh, it was chilling when she said, you don't know what it's like to be the mother of a police officer and have to call 911.
1:04:51Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
1:04:52Jackie Oshry:Chilling. I always forget that Erica has a son who's a cop.
1:04:55Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I also forget that she like has a son. Oh, I remember.
1:04:58Jackie Oshry:It's just like, I feel like it's a little incongruous with like her image, like her Erika Jayne image, you know? Like Erika Girardi had a kid. But she's so 360. You cannot put Erika Jayne in a box.
1:05:08Claudia Oshry:No, I forgot about Amanda. She's been coming up on my timeline a lot.
1:05:11Jackie Oshry:With her content? Her content. And it's definitely giving Boz's like onto something because like she's so wealthy from all these courses, right? She makes Instagram reels that have like 700 views.
1:05:20Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So what do you think that it is? Because Boz is saying like she teaches you how to manifest money while also taking your money. So it's kind of like counterintuitive. Yeah, no, it's snake oil salesman. Like snake oil salesmen live in nice houses because they are good salesmen. Yeah. But like if you want to spend your money learning how to make money, like that's how you like. She's not breaking the law. Right. But it sounded like you were about to allude to like some sort of fraudulence because like how can you make that much money? It's not fraudulent per se. It's a question mark because how can you make that much money doing what she does?
1:05:54Claudia Oshry:She lives in a nice house. And she shouldn't have said that her husband like brings home no money because we would have just assumed like they're dual income. You know what I mean? Like, but it definitely like leaves a question mark of how can you make that much money doing what she's doing?
1:06:07Jackie Oshry:The thing she said about Dorit was really mean about how like Dorit's just jealous of Amanda because Amanda has never financially depended on a man. Oh my God.
1:06:13Claudia Oshry:It was like, I was like, I was like, no one was saying anything.
1:06:16Jackie Oshry:Yeah. But Dorit financially depended on Amanda and it's really not working out for her. Like so mean. So uncalled for. Somebody's going through a legal battle with their ex over custody and money. It's such a traumatizing thing.
1:06:27Claudia Oshry:So uncalled for.
1:06:28Jackie Oshry:I just hate her.
1:06:29Claudia Oshry:Their argument, their petty squabbles have not reached a level. We've not gotten there yet. Where you need to say that about someone.
1:06:36Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
1:06:37Claudia Oshry:That was just so out of left field.
1:06:39Jackie Oshry:Yeah. So yeah, it was kind of a boring episode. I kind of need the gals back together. It's now like two and a half episodes. It's bifurcated. Where they're on separate coasts. Sorry, Erica should be in the Hamptons. oh I like that Rachel Zoe like hates Kyle um because it's like it's true Kyle is like this OG housewife everyone loves her everyone loves us and it's like where's that girl you know yeah it's like this new Kyle is like definitely and I don't think it has anything with her being sober she just like she kind of sucks and so I hear Rachel being like you're like the OG of the BH
1:07:12Claudia Oshry:and it's like this is it no and it has I don't even remember that she's sober I'm not interested and like watching drunk people that's not like so it has nothing to do with that I also now notice what you said which is that Kyle is very nasty in her interviews nastier than like you know at the table she'll like not say anything and then she'll undercut whatever Dorit said in her interview and it's it's gonna make for an interesting reunion but if I'm Dorit watching that like
1:07:35Jackie Oshry:that's not your friend no and Rachel really likes Dorit yeah but they're I think they are similar personalities they're very fashioning and then they both have this like you know divorce looming over their heads so they relate to one another and i think soon like rachel's dislike or just like meh on kyle is gonna get even worse because like she's gonna start taking up for her friend i like that rachel's always like not afraid to get a little dirty i wish she could go a little
1:07:58Claudia Oshry:bit more you know same but i also think kathy stands in her way even though like those kathy
1:08:03Jackie Oshry:wouldn't stand in her way but like she's not gonna meanwhile the hilden sisters no one's asking to them than each other but like you can be to your no and i think rachel would respect that that's Kathy's sister.
1:08:13Claudia Oshry:Yeah, and like not want to put Kathy in an uncomfortable position, even though like Kyle chose Renna side over Kathy in the Aspen DJ situation.
1:08:18Jackie Oshry:Right. Remember it had her over.
1:08:20Claudia Oshry:Of course, that was awful.
1:08:21Jackie Oshry:Awful. So no, Rachel like joined this crew. Like she has to work over the summer, but she's like, whatever. I think being a reality star is fun. These women look like they have a lot of fun and like she's wanting to have fun. And Kyle's like so not in a fun place. And she's like kind of not a fun person right now. So I just feel like it's not a good match them to. I don't know why she brought Kyle. And it was all to like help with three. I think it was like single ladies. No, I thought it was like to help her and Dorit like see one another. Meanwhile, I haven't had like a meaningful conversation the whole time.
1:08:45Claudia Oshry:But I guess also if she just brought like Dorit and Erica, well, that would have been my dream. Dream team. But she probably brought like Dorit and Kyle because like that's content. You know, like them, they need to have conversations and do the spiel. But they're not. But they're not even doing it. So why is Erica sitting at home? Bring, why isn't Erica there? I feel sick.
1:09:06Jackie Oshry:Even your Kyle could have been there. It's not one or the other.
1:09:08Claudia Oshry:All of them went both. Then both. Where's both? Oh, sorry. But she has a lot going on.
1:09:12Jackie Oshry:Dream Team is Bo's, Erica, Rachel, Dorit.
1:09:15Claudia Oshry:Even though it looks like Dorit and Erica go at each other this season. I can't. It happens. As long as it's nothing we can't come back from.
1:09:23Jackie Oshry:Well, that's your TV recap. That's our show for the... Oh, no, sorry. It's Queenie and Weenie. Almost forgot. Sorry. Our final segment of the week is something we like to do called Queenie and Weenie of the Week. We give out two awards to two different people. It's extremely self-explanatory. Queenie of the Week and Weenie of the Week. It could be anyone from pop culture to world news, This is Global Impact, Queenie of the Week, and Weenie of the Week. So, Jax, would you like to go first with your Queenie? Yes. I think my Queenie is pretty obvious.
1:09:47Claudia Oshry:The man, the myth, the legend, Paul Salem.
1:09:50Jackie Oshry:The joy that this photograph— Honestly, it's the frame. It's not even the man inside of it. Like, the joy this has brought me. People are lauding it as our best segment ever.
1:09:56Claudia Oshry:Like, I'm obsessed. And he is not only the first businessman of the week, but he's the first joint businessman of the week and Queenie, and unanimous Queenie at that. Bacowdo. So heavy is the head that wears the crown, Paul Salem. Don't fuck it up. He's the first businessman of the week.
1:10:14Jackie Oshry:And if I have anything to do with it, he'll be the last.
1:10:16Claudia Oshry:Oh, wow. That means we don't get Jets and we don't get Birkins and we didn't get a sponsored segment.
1:10:20Jackie Oshry:And then weenie. I actually had so many options this week. I, of course, wanted to throw Massimo's name around because just like imagine fumbling Lori Loughlin. But I didn't end up going with him. I very I came very close to choosing Tara Lipinski because honestly like her behavior at the round table could only be described in one word but I decided to go with someone else and that's Lucy from Tell Me Lies like getting in the car and and actually I want to also make we need of the week anybody who thought like she had a plan getting in the car and that like Lucy's in control and she let him go because that's also like this was all her idea but Lucy like her getting back in the car like
1:11:02Claudia Oshry:her getting back in the car her getting back in the car only to like do it all again at like Brie and Wrigley's wedding correct my weenie of the week is adjacent to yours it's from tell me lies and it's Wrigley's wig and the people who put it on his head and thought that that was a good idea I love that and in like the what's supposed to be like the penultimate moment of the show of Brie and Wrigley finally getting together without morning breath and they're like looking their best and it's been years and he's in that wig major plot hole agree like show ruining do over like seriously do it over yeah all right well that's our show you guys thank you
