0:18Jackie Oshry:We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast.
0:22Claudia Oshry:I sound amazing. Welcome back to the toast and happy Tuesday. Tuesday period you could hope for later in the week we hope and we dream I was shocked to find
0:34Jackie Oshry:out that it's only Tuesday and like today's such a Tuesday when I woke up this morning and like did
0:39Claudia Oshry:the quick math of what day it is like yesterday was only Monday very disappointing stuff and it was a long day but Tuesdays are exciting because it's a big Tuesday we've got summer house reunion
0:48Jackie Oshry:tonight we've got love island premiere when one door closes another one opens your toaster you See, they dropped another islander from the villa. No. Yeah, a guy. Whomst. Was it sincere? I forget what it was that he did. No, no, cast member sincere. Oh, I thought it was a sincere action. I don't know. Like, I don't know. You can't speak to the sincerity? No, but I'll never get to know him because he's been dropped from the villa. I do believe he was actually dropped before the other girl. He never even made air, but people are just finding out that she's actually the second person to be dropped from the villa.
1:19Jackie Oshry:He was dropped before her, but we're just finding out about it. He never made it to air.
1:22Claudia Oshry:He wasn't in the package.
1:25Jackie Oshry:They found out just in the nick of time. Oh, great.
1:29Claudia Oshry:Great. I mean, good. What did he do?
1:31Jackie Oshry:I don't remember. But, you know, it was along the lines of like your regular degular. Slur. I feel like that's like the Love Island bar is like the slur, right? Everyone who's got kicked out. Slurza. Slurza. Slurza. Sierra.
1:48Claudia Oshry:New girl whose name I never knew, which is good because she can go on to lead a regular life as if it's never true like i didn't even say her name in the story yesterday i didn't not because i was trying to protect her but because it was like not relevant yeah and it's like good you know what no harm no foul it's true it's like go back even here to your job
2:04Jackie Oshry:yeah um so that starts tonight like i have to get into the mental head space but it's good i kind of like don't have a lot of things to watch last night i started watching off campus again just because like i felt like i didn't like give it the proper like i had such a bad attitude going into it last time and you just won't watch italian job anything to not watch the italian job
2:19Claudia Oshry:Ben was out last night. I feel like you keep forgetting that. What time do you get in bed to watch TV? That feels really embarrassing. No, okay. I just want to send you a scheduled text message at 7.02 when you're scrolling. It occurred? Okay. But Ben was out playing basketball with your husband and it feels like something I should watch with Ben. I agree. It's a joint partnership. So it's like, what could I do alone? Rewatch off campus. Okay. I finished my book last night. Yesteryear. The book that, the name on everybody's lips. It is.
2:49Jackie Oshry:We are recording Redheads today. I don't know if you saw, and I had seen this before. We talked about it on the toast. Actually, the audience of people is quite divided on who the book is about because a lot of people are saying it's more Ruby Frank than Ballerina Farm. Although Ruby Frank was not a trad wife. I guess she was a traditional wife in the sense that she was at home with the kids, but she wasn't making butter or bread or farming.
3:09Claudia Oshry:So I would say until 85 % of the book, it's Ballerina Farm only. And then once the psychological thriller starts happening, like when things start to piece together of us understanding like what's going on because the book is confusing like how did we go back into the past like where's the time machine then the last 15 i'm like oh inspired by ruby frank got it okay so like a blend yeah but mostly ballerina and it's just like so unfair because it's like the book about ballerina farm and it paints her
3:38Jackie Oshry:out to be a monster every time like somebody does like a cultural connotation whether it's fiction or non-fiction on ballerina farm it's always from a negative angle yeah like i'm ready for the ballerini tell all like she should come on this podcast this is a safe space like i want to know like do you care that you're not a ballerina anymore because i really feel like you don't like no why would she care i know but everyone's like he stole her dreams of being a ballerina and it's like well she also like grew up and had kids and like you can't be a ballerina forever
4:00Claudia Oshry:all ballerinas have to throw in the tutu at some point except misty copeland and actually she has a studio at her farm where she can lean all she wants yay she can ballerine to her heart's content Correct. I would love to chat with her. It was really frustrating. I'm excited that we're doing a whole episode on it because I have so many different thoughts. Like the book was so outrageous and was making like so many different points. And like it was just it was a lot. Now, of course, it's going to be a sensational book because I think it's about like one of the most fascinating topics, which is like female influencers, fame, farm, family, faith.
4:38Claudia Oshry:So whether or not it's a good book, I understand why it's the book. Why everyone's talking about it. And, you know, it's being turned into a movie. Anne Hathaway is playing the lead. And then in the acknowledgement, she said, like, thank you. So, you know, I was so fortunate to put this book in front of people before it was even done to get their feedback. Anne Hathaway being one of those people. Meanwhile, it's her first book. So how did your first book reach Anne Hathaway? And like, how did everybody know it was going to be the book? And Amazon. I think everyone was just excited to, like, read something salacious about ballerina.
5:07Claudia Oshry:Okay.
5:07Jackie Oshry:I just want to say I didn't read the book, but I don't think that's a good casting. she's playing Hannah Ballerina Natalie whatever I don't think that's a good casting Natalie Heller Mills but I just know Daisy Edgar Jones is somewhere just kicking her like she's no longer the book girl Anne Hathaway is
5:22Claudia Oshry:but we did need someone a little bit older oh yeah like a little bit because how old are the kids um there are so many how old's the youngest one uh ten oh okay so Anne Hathaway but at one point you know she has her first
5:36Jackie Oshry:oh right right right
5:37Claudia Oshry:so it's coming of age tale it spans a lot of time Maybe I will read it. I would love to get your thoughts. You know, I still have to read it, Jenna. I would love to get your thoughts because there's no way anyone comes away from this book with like not strong opinions because it's a very outrageous book. Whether or not you're like, yes, stick it to the man, speak for the women, or you're like, this is a farce.
5:58Jackie Oshry:Yeah, to me, like I just don't, I don't get involved in like mocking trad wife culture. It's just such a low hanging fruit. Like everybody does it. Like I'm just, I don't know, I'm just more creative than that.
6:08Claudia Oshry:yeah I just I don't understand like the point of the book like what she's trying to say because it's like she's obviously clowning on women who like follow a traditional trajectory who like you know center faith and family and okay but then she's also clowning on like the liberal women that ballerina went to heart like not ballerina yesteryear went to harvard with she went to harvard she's just a woman who hates all women it seems like it and then at what kind of love that It seems like we're about to get a third kind of woman. Centrist. Maybe she's endorsing, but that person turns out to be so awful.
6:45Jackie Oshry:So it's more of a commentary on women in general.
6:50Claudia Oshry:Like how I guess women just can't win. Right. But I don't feel that way. I don't either. So I disagree. Okay. I think there's hard things about being a woman. I think sometimes you follow a path that's not right for you, where you get boxed in somewhere, but the idea that all women are unhappy. Yeah, like all roads, whether you're a working mom,
7:10Jackie Oshry:whether you're a stay-at-home mom, whether you're a stay-at-home mom who works, they're all bad. They're all bad. That's a bad message. I actually don't like that.
7:15Claudia Oshry:The message is that they're all bad, that society hates women, America hates women, the world is set up for women to fail, and...
7:23Jackie Oshry:The world is set up for women to fail. I do want to say I agree with her on that. But I don't like the woman experience being told from all angles, so negative. Yeah, there's not a good one. Like no one's life that you want to emulate? No. Hate that. Hate, hate, hate. Like seriously hate.
7:38Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So that's why I don't get like what the message. And not that it matters.
7:41Jackie Oshry:But does the author herself have children?
7:43Claudia Oshry:I don't know. I was trying to like learn more about this author. I think that she's married. Okay. But I wasn't seeing children, which I need to. Children, children. I need to confirm that before the episode because that will like inform my opinion even more. Because like. It's easy to like commentate on things you know nothing about. Yeah. Like this woman in the book. I don't want to spoil how many kids she has because it's actually part of this. She doesn't have kids in the book. The author. The author. But in the book she has like, you know, a lot of kids and she hates motherhood. Like she hates every minute.
8:20Claudia Oshry:I'm not reading this book. I know. I just want to say I'm not reading this book. I've made a very concerted effort. I can't understand someone who would have five plus children and doesn't enjoy being a mother. Well, I think the commentary is like she's being forced to.
8:33Jackie Oshry:No, she's not.
8:34Claudia Oshry:Well, I don't want to. Okay. She's so not being forced to. Okay. She's forcing them.
8:38Jackie Oshry:Okay. So I just want to say that, like, I'm not reading this book because. Update. Author might have a child. Oh, we're not clear. I just don't believe in inundating your mind with negative things. Like, it's hard enough. So I'll read Lena Dunham instead. Or I'll just watch off campus for the third time.
8:57Claudia Oshry:Okay.
8:57Jackie Oshry:Well, anyways, there's just a lot to chew on. Oh, can I clue you into something fun that's going on in the off-campus sphere? First of all, they've been renewed for a second season. They started filming yesterday. And one of the breakout stars from this first season, not the main girl, but she's the main character in the next season. You know, a lot of them are in relationships, but they're these young, hot thangs. First one has fallen. Her and her fiancé broke up. Okay. That's a big deal. Wait, say that again? So one of the actresses, she was on the first season. And she was not like the main girl, but she's the breakout star because she's in this other couple that's being featured in the second season.

9:31Jackie Oshry:Okay. So a lot of these young up and coming actors are almost like all in relationships, but they're like hot young things who like are on the scene. Now, the first couple has fallen. The girl, her and her fiance have not lasted. They broke up. Okay. And like one of them is married to his high school sweetheart. Like it's, sorry, engaged to his high school sweetheart. Like it's all really cute, but like I kind of need them to be single because they need to do that Riverdale thing where they all like mesh and date. Like I do think it'll affect the outcome of the show. So I'm glad that Allie, I think her real name is Mika, and her man have broken up.
9:57Jackie Oshry:But, like, I need others. Oh, you're glad that they're breaking up.
9:59Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
10:00Jackie Oshry:Well, you know how I feel. Like, when it's a girl, like, she's being held back by her, like, loser boyfriend. Like, she's a star now. She needs to date other stars. But if it's a guy, and I'm like, Robert Hurtabek, I'm like, you left your wife at home. Like, I think it's disgusting.
10:11Claudia Oshry:But on the other hand, like, if they do live an ordinary life, they can be original and violent in their work. Very true. So sometimes that stability at home, like, creates, like, great art, conditions for great art. That's beautiful. So you can argue both sides. You can. I thought it was going to be sad that they broke up. No. Like one taste of faming her out the door. Exactly. I love that. I love that for a woman.
10:33Jackie Oshry:Like if men do that, like that's seriously so Robert Herjavec. I know it pains me for me to talk about Robert Herjavec. It's not like that. Well, the thing about Robert Herjavec, and I can admit that like what he did was bad, of course, like leaving his ex-wife for his dancing with the Stars partner, especially like the wife that's been with him for 100 years. They're the same age. Yeah, like he's with his new girl now for a long time. they had twins like at some point you can move on you do you have to like you have no choice that's what i mean like you know with uh west and amanda if they go on to get married and have kids like i will move on yeah but until then obviously so i think let's today mark the first day that i'm
11:05Claudia Oshry:moving on from robert herjavec okay that's great maybe past the the they've crossed the threshold threshold for like however long i feel like you need to find like a just a different example to cite you know it's true oh i'm sorry one more thing i wanted to tell you about off campus
11:19Jackie Oshry:because I know how much you care is like this song that's going viral from it, which is like playing in the show during, like the two protagonists, they can finally get together. Then there's like a love montage of them just like being in love and like having sex and like going to class. And this song, it's so good. And you know who sings it? Like such a random pop culture crossover. Do you know, does the name G Flip mean anything to you? Chrishell's. Chrishell's wife. Wife, they got married? Yeah, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's like a big Australian artist. Yeah. And so this is like a huge moment of her.
11:50Jackie Oshry:She's all over my TikTok now. It's like the best thing to ever happen to her. She's like, I can't fucking wait to do shows in the States. And it's a really good song. I actually think you would like it. It's called Bed on Fire.
11:58Claudia Oshry:I'm sure I would like it. I've seen videos of her singing before. I've seen videos of her playing drums. I've seen videos. She sang a song like It's Raining Men, but she changed it to It's Raining Them. Obsessed. For the non-binary community. It was really good. Oh, is she non-binary? I think she's. She they? She they.
12:16Jackie Oshry:Okay. So she works like for me.
12:19Claudia Oshry:All that aside, It's Raining Them was very good.
12:23Jackie Oshry:I love that. I've seen her perform quite a bit. She's always playing drums, singing, doing guitar and harmonica at the same time. She's one of those. And I never actually heard any of her original music. And this is my first time. It's actually really good. Just non-binary. Oh, shit. Sorry. Anyways, that's what's going on on off campus.
12:42Claudia Oshry:Great. You think you're going to watch? No. It's not for you. Aside from you mentioning it. Has it not penetrated your Not really like you've mentioned it And then one person in our group chat No Oh Casey yeah but Satchler also was posting about it a lot But like she posts about a lot of stuff that's like Not for me so like I'm not like it was just you And in our group chat Our friend was like I'm watching this And that's really it Like I wouldn't really Have heard of it if not for that It hasn't like Penetrated offline
13:15Jackie Oshry:I got so into like the free page that I ended up on like some Canadian like Congress they were petitioning because the show was filmed in Canada it's set in Canada but like because of Canadian tax laws like they make no money from it and somebody was just like talking about off campus in Congress or Parliament whatever they call it um that's when I knew I was like maybe I should step away
13:34Claudia Oshry:that's good yeah um what are the stories like today they're good lots to discuss like need to discuss information so yeah like every story was sort of like a need yeah I need to talk about one of these stories in particular. But everything else is just like, you know, good, like good, you know, what we have to talk about. It's all I'll say. Actually really good.
13:54Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I think we should get into it. Oh my God. Okay. Wait, I'm like so. You feel ready? And we also have your toasters actually. Today's Tuesday. So let's definitely. Get into the Fast Five stories that you do need to know. And the Fast Five stories that you do need to know are brought to you by Hint. So this episode is brought to you by Hint Water. We want to tell you about something that's totally taken over our lives, starting innocently with one sip and then suddenly you're thinking about it constantly, craving it, longing for it, asking myself, what is this feeling, this completely unhinged desire to drink water?
14:24Jackie Oshry:Well, specifically, it's Hint water. We tried the peach raspberry flavor and honestly, it really rewired something in us. The second it touched our lips, we just ascended to that very subtle, juicy and refreshing feeling that I've quite literally never experienced with water. As you guys know, I don't really drink water. It's something I struggle with. Well, Hint is so great because it's crisp water with a very delicate little whisper of fruit that really makes your brain go, wait, I want more of that. So I love when people get creative with water because drinking water is just like not for everyone and it can be really hard.
14:51Jackie Oshry:The great part about Hint is that it tastes so great, but it has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. So it's literally just water infused with fruit essence. Somehow it tastes like a treat while being responsible, drinking water. And again, it has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. So if you're looking to be seduced by water, check out Hint. It has no sugar, no sweeteners and no calories. It's just water with the essence of fruit. It's water that makes you crave water. So try Hint. It's now available if you want to check out their website. It's drinkhint.com, D-R-I-N-K-H-I-N-T.com. And you can check them out in stores nationwide.
15:22Jackie Oshry:You've probably seen them. They're literally in every store. Give it a shot. It's water, but it's good water. Mmm, water. Today's episode is also brought to you by Roback. Let's have a summer closet meeting. Every year we tell ourselves, this is the summer, I'm going to have easy outfits, and then somehow you're standing in your room in a towel, laid for plans, surrounded by clothes, acting like you've never gotten dressed before.
17:06Jackie Oshry:So that exact scenario, which we've all been in, is why Roback is a major part of our summer rotation. We don't need to look like we're training for Wimbledon, but we do need to look like we could be in bed to a country club at any moment and be dressed appropriately. And we could. And we've talked about this before. Roback has designed G2G, which is got-to-go technology, which means that their active dresses have built-in shorts that you can pull down when you go to the bathroom without ever having to pull off your entire dress. Because I know a lot of us love wearing active dresses, especially in the summer.
17:32Jackie Oshry:But if you've ever been in a public bathroom completely naked because you wore an active dress and you just have to pee, you just know how humiliating that is. But the ones from Roback are fabulous. They have these little shorts. you just slide down the shorts and your dress stays on like no boobs out in the stall. Anyone who's ever worn an active dress knows how annoying that is. 19:49Claudia Oshry:Our first story. So Taylor Swift announces her new song for Toy Story 5 after much speculation. She has shared that she wrote an original song for Toy Story 5 with Jack Antonoff called I Knew It, I Knew You.
20:03Jackie Oshry:So amazing. I think it's a lot of drama for like a one random song on a soundtrack. Having said that, I firmly believe it's going to be like the best song ever. I just like have such a feeling. Also, the way it was described, it's country. Yeah, like Disney released like a little press release. I'm like, did you say country? So Taylor going back to her country roots like means the world to me. Maybe it's like sense because like Woody and they're like.
20:23Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but maybe it's like Jesse's, you know, ballad moment. Maybe it's not a musical. But in the billboard, in the billboard, it's Jesse dancing. It's true. She makes the moves up as she goes. So maybe it's like Jesse.
20:35Jackie Oshry:Maybe Jesse's having like a crisis of conscience.
20:36Claudia Oshry:Or maybe like Jesse's realizing that she loves Woody. I knew it. I knew you. Are they a couple? I haven't seen two. They're not brother and sister. No, no, but have they like, or do they live together? So I've really only seen the first one comprehensively. And she's not even in it. She comes around in like the second one when Woody starts to discover like his backstory as a character. You know, Woody's Roundup and Bullseye, his horse, and Jesse. Roundup? Yeah.
21:07Jackie Oshry:Woody. They're siblings? They're considered siblings, according to Wikipedia. Okay. Okay. Well. That's not what the song is about. Maybe there's someone else. Maybe Jesse's in love with Buzz.
21:18Claudia Oshry:I love that. Yeah, Buzz is obviously like.
21:20Jackie Oshry:Her brother's best friend. Buzz is obviously like the jock. He's the Garrett Graham, if you will, of the pleasure. No, not pleasure. Treasure. Sorry. Sorry. That's disgusting. Moving on. I have something to say about this. Like, so a lot of people were very quick to point out that Gracie Abrams has a song that's titled pretty much the exact same thing. It's like, I know it. I know you. Right. So what's Taylor's? Taylor's. I knew it. I knew you. Taylor's. Gracie's was I knew it. I know you. Like she changed. I know you. And I just want to say, I think it's really crazy because, first of all, this is like not a title of a song.
21:55Jackie Oshry:Like sometimes, yes, you can say two people can name a song like love story. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Like, yeah, something very generic or like, you know, I love you. Do you love me? Like this is literally like not a song title. It's like a collection of weird words. The fact that two people could possibly like have parallel thinking and come to the conclusion. No. Two people who are close and write songs together. No. And I just think it's really crazy because Taylor's like the copy queen, you know, famously Olivia Rodrigo. and she's like very um i think it's one of the things i love and people love about her most is like she's kind of militaristic about you know credit originality and you know taking care of you know the songwriters and so like it's low-key crazy this is such a random obscure quite frankly bad name for a song the odds that someone else in her circle i think it's crazy yeah is it a big
22:46Claudia Oshry:gracie song or like you really i had never heard every album to have i think it's an insider's no but Taylor is an insider. And Taylor like knows music. Yeah. Did Jack work on that song with Gracie? Maybe it's a Sparky Palastri situation where he gave them the same routine.
23:01Jackie Oshry:Jackie. Jack Antonoff is the Sparky Palastri of his generation. It is.
23:05Claudia Oshry:He's giving everyone the same routine.
23:08Jackie Oshry:Synth is the routine. Did Jack Antonoff. Okay. So let's go to the Gracie Abrams song. I've never even heard it. I knew it. I know you. Let's see. Okay. So this song behind the music. So funny when I Google it, Gracie, the Taylor Swift thing just comes up. Song and lyrics by Gracie Abrams. Let's see who produced it. You could see that on Spotify. I'm listening to the song. Oh, I just played it. Okay. Hang on, hang on. Explore song DNA. Does that tell you? Oh, view song credits. Okay. Oh, Audrey Hobart wrote it. But that's, I knew you'd be at the party drinking a Coke in Bacardi. Sue me, I want to be Sue me.
23:53Jackie Oshry:Do you not know that song? No. So, like, Gracie has, like, a ghostwriter. Her name is Audrey. I've heard about this.
23:59Claudia Oshry:It's like Julia Michaels and Selena Gomez.
24:01Jackie Oshry:Yes. So it's like, then Audrey released her own song and her own EP, which is, like, very insider. But people say it's, like, one of the best pop EPs of all time because she is, like, sort of the brains behind a lot of, like, that whispery talk singing that Gracie has been come to know for. Oh, I found the rat. you know jack antonof no aaron desner the rat aaron desner produced engineered and performs on the song i'm just kidding i don't think that he had there's a lot of people to work on a song he's the rat so yeah production and engineering that's we found the rat it's aaron desner
24:36Claudia Oshry:like is there any way that taylor didn't know that this was a gracie song like she found out yesterday when everyone was like this is a gracie song so the problem when you are like the originality. What's the status of Taylor and Gracie at the most? Positive.
24:47Jackie Oshry:Positive. Okay. I assume she'll be at the wedding. The only problem is like when you are the copy police you're held to a higher standard. So maybe we wouldn't be talking about this. We'd be like oh it's just crazy. Unfortunately she put a target on her back when she decided to become like sort of the hall monitor of the music industry. And so I do give her a slap on the wrist for this because let's say she came to the conclusion completely on her own. Like she should have changed it just out of like
25:14Claudia Oshry:like how this make her makes her look really but what if it was totally in earnest and then it's like it's some sort of admission of guilt if like you change it just because someone else has it like if it really was an original idea the thing is with song titles like i always think like you
25:28Jackie Oshry:could literally choose any lyric yeah chorus to make the song so it's not like the song has to
25:31Claudia Oshry:be called this yeah but she's so scrupled i really actually don't think that she swiped the name in
25:39Jackie Oshry:anyway no by the way i just want to say i don't think that she swiped the name um apparently jesse says it in toy story 2 doesn't matter like i'm saying like jesse says other stuff of course like it literally doesn't matter like just optics wise yeah and i know what you mean like once you
25:54Claudia Oshry:change it you're saying i did something wrong and i didn't know and it's like if you if you operated completely honestly why should you have to change the name of your song there are a million song titles out there if you change every one that sounds like another one i know this isn't a unique one, but like you have to be able to be yourself and creative and true. Of course. But you're also like the copy police.
26:12Jackie Oshry:And so that when there is copying that comes with its own set, you know, people accuse I actually don't really like, I mean, we can't tell Olivia Rodrigo of it all, but sometimes like that's the music. That's what Ed Sheeran says. You know, there's only so many chords. Everybody ends up writing pretty much the same version of each other's songs, especially in pop music. So like sometimes you get like copied Tom Petty suing Sam Smith, you know, sometimes you get and like you didn't do it. but like that's just like the nature of the biz so i just think it's weird i just because it's
26:39Claudia Oshry:like also a bad title yeah it's odd it's obviously also like overshadowing this exciting moment yeah sorry to like make it about that but otherwise we wouldn't have anything to say because like we
26:47Jackie Oshry:don't have the song yet and i'm excited it comes out on friday bob eiger shared a picture of him and taylor like on one of his last days as ceo of disney this must have been like one he wanted credit like i got this done because he shared a picture of them in the boardroom i don't know why you have to like a meeting in the boardroom just like do a song but love that right like why can't you like you want to do a song yeah and like taylor was just obviously like excited to go because she like wore such a businesswoman a meeting that could have been an email a text
27:09Claudia Oshry:message you want to do a song sure do you think it's because her and travis have a baby at home that now she's like wanting to get involved like obviously i would love for that to be true but i also don't want it to be true because that means like she didn't share any of it with us so no that the surrogate like delivered seamlessly and now they have a baby that loves toy story Who's five years old. I hope that's not true. Yeah. It's a little curious that she's getting into the kids game. She's always been like really family friendly. I know, but like she's not been in an animated film. She did Cats.
27:43Claudia Oshry:Yikes. Yikes. Let's not remind everyone. Okay. So I'm excited to hear the song. I wonder. Me too. Like does it come out with the movie, before the movie? I can't remember the last time I was like anticipating the song from the soundtrack. So the movie, the show, the song comes out on Friday. The movie comes out June 19th. And then does Taylor put this song like on her album at all?
28:02Jackie Oshry:Or just like it's Disney's?
28:04Claudia Oshry:It's like there.
28:05Jackie Oshry:Oh, she did do a song for The Marsh Girl. What's that book? Crydads. It was an original. Yeah, Carolina, right? Yeah. It was good. Did she do a song for Hunger Games? You and I'll be safe. And she also did Zane. That was a movie one, right? I Don't Want to Live Forever. That was for, oh. Fifty Shades. Fifty Shades. I don't wanna live Not my favorite Saving Sound from The Hunger Games Like is one of the best songs ever made People don't even know it Like
28:33Claudia Oshry:No one of the best soundtrack songs ever made Actually I think it's like the best one It's Broken and It's Beautiful By Kelly Clarkson That's good but no Like it's actually Give me a genre like Pop No like of a movie We just discussed it in The Italian Job No we have discussed it in this show today Today? Mmhmm Like not even a minute ago Oh, God, you know my memory so bad. What are we discussing?
29:04Claudia Oshry:Crawdads? Close. Oh, close? Like close. It was right next door to Crawdads. We were talking about it just then. Hunger Games. The other one that we were talking about. Fifty Shades? Yes.
29:17Jackie Oshry:Who wrote a song for Fifty Shades? Tell me.
29:21Claudia Oshry:Ellie Goulding, Love Me Like You Do.
29:23Jackie Oshry:Oh, I don't think I knew that that was like for, Was that a song created for the soundtrack? I believe so.
29:29Claudia Oshry:Or a song that they put on the score? I don't know. I have a hard time believing it's an original. It's such an amazing song. It was made for the movie. They were so unworthy.
29:40Jackie Oshry:A hundred percent. That franchise is turnt. Like, it's not good.
29:44Claudia Oshry:It's so turnt. But isn't that song so good? It's so great. I should listen to it in the car on the way home. Love me like you do.
29:52Jackie Oshry:Love me like you do. I love original. Oh, I saw the funniest tweet about this. Somebody quote tweeted like this news and was like, Diane Warren is crying. Because this is obviously like an attempt at an Oscar. You become eligible for an Oscar as like a singer songwriter.
30:06Claudia Oshry:Oh, it better be good. When you write. And she better hope nothing pops off this year. Like Golden.
30:10Jackie Oshry:Or she wouldn't stand in change. You really can't predict the song. You always think like, oh, Miley. Or like of a big person. A lot of times like they don't win it and it's always random. But this is an attempt at that. Oh, she also wrote for Cats a really good song.
30:24Claudia Oshry:So I'd dance with your beautiful ghost. Oh, and she wrote for Miss Americana, Young. Oh. Only the Young. That's a good song. Yeah, she actually has done quite a lot. Quite a lot, yeah. This one better be good. Yeah. She's a pretty good track record. Has she been nominated for an Oscar, like, for a song?
30:42Jackie Oshry:I believe she was nominated for Beautiful Ghost, and she went to the Golden Globes and everything. Remember, she went with Joe, and it was like a big deal. She wore that green dress.
30:48Claudia Oshry:No, I wasn't paying attention.
30:49Jackie Oshry:That's okay. You were probably busy.
30:51Claudia Oshry:Yeah, for sure. Are you ready for our next story? It's a story that you had wanted to discuss, and let's discuss.
30:59Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I need to talk about this.
31:01Claudia Oshry:So Phoebe Gates' new, not new, but, you know, relatively new AI shopping app, Phea, has just closed a major round of funding, and it is completely star-studded. So Phea is an AI shopping app launched in April 2025. If you watch Love Thy Neither, you know about it already. Or if you're just on Instagram, it's launched by Phoebe Gates, Bill Gates's daughter, and her college roommate, Sophia Chiani. They have like this AI shopping extension where basically you like put it in your browser and if you're buying something, it like runs looking for it on every other website. It'll give you the lowest price.
31:34Claudia Oshry:It also scans like eBay for a used version. So if you're shopping, it's like a good extension for getting a lower price for what you want. They also have a podcast.
31:43Jackie Oshry:Okay, so I saw this and it was like everywhere because a lot of the people that I follow invested. It's a lot of like female celebrities, influencers, famous investors.
31:51Claudia Oshry:If I may share the investor list in this round, because there were previously some well-known investors like Hailey Bieber, Kris Jenner, Sheryl Sandberg and Sarah Blakely were in the first round, but now they just closed their second round. The lineup includes Khloe Kardashian, Alex Earle, Mindy Kaling, Carly Kloss, Eileen Gu, Sidney Sweeney, Paris Hilton, Priyanka Chopra, Jessica Alba, Shabuzi. Shabuzi, the first man. Ashley Graham, Halsey, Wendy Murdoch, Brooke Snader, and all of her sisters, Chrishell Lim, Sophia Amoroso, Rachel Zoe, Winnie Harlow, Lori Harvey, Ice Spice, Kate Bailey, Olivia Culpo, Amy Griffin, Lily Singh, The Chainsmokers, Layla Harmozi, Gunna, and Jay Shetty.
32:32Jackie Oshry:And I just want to say, I hate everything about this. First of all, I have heard of Fia. They were on the Hulu show. Sophia Gates is Bill Gates' daughter. Phoebe Gates. Sophia's the roommate. Oh, okay. They are like Nepo to the next level. They have a podcast on the Unwell Network. They've had Kris Jenner on their podcast. These are like two people who literally have every advantage in the world. And like nobody cares about their company. Nobody cared before. Even before they said Haley B. Burrow's an investor. No one's using this company. And it's not even a bad idea. It's a good idea. But like, okay, what?
33:02Jackie Oshry:So you have more investors, more money now. To continue to do what? Like if that was me and like Bill Gates was my dad and I had this show and I could have Kris Jenner on like and Kris Jenner invested. Like, I'm sorry.
33:14Claudia Oshry:Like, it's a flop. It's a flop. Yeah, they claim to have like over a million users. They're also like building out the tech. Are the users in the room with us? They're building out the tech so that like then the bot like knows what you like and will serve you other things. They make money by taking affiliate commissions when someone checks out through the app. They plan to make like a master shopping cart so that you can check out from multiple websites in one place. Apparently, like Google is also doing this. I think there are a lot of tech platforms that can do this. There's a lot of AI technology.
33:43Claudia Oshry:You know, you could also put it into chat GBT and say, find me the lowest price of this. A thousand percent.
33:47Jackie Oshry:No, and it's not that the idea is bad at all, but it's like there's something about this that isn't working. And they were, they're overcommitted now. They have over$33 million in funding. They had huge investors before. Her dad is Bill Gates for crying out loud. And I see their clips on my TikTok from their podcast, Jackie, not one view. Like, so. And it's the biggest stars in the world. Wait, so what's not, what is not working here?
34:05Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I don't think more money is a problem. I don't think more celebrities. No, I think that from what I've read in this puff piece, like they have, you know, the structure and they have the product and the tech and everything's good. And so now they want to connect with the culture. They're bringing in the culture vis-a-vis like all of these celebrities. But I just don't think anything with this many celebrities is going to be successful. Like it shouldn't need that many people. We don't need all of these people to tell us to use this app. And also the person who's using this app wants the lowest price.
34:36Claudia Oshry:Guaranteed. and I don't look to my celebrity to understand my budget, my cardboard needs. I don't think that this like connects the way that it needs to. Like they actually should have had like more influencers who talk about these sorts of budgetary needs. I'm looking at one right here.
34:54Jackie Oshry:No, but the thing is all these people invested. Like I just want to say, I think this is a bad investment, but like a lot of these people invest in so many things. Like I think they say like literally 1 % of your investments cover like all your failed investments. so I don't think any people think they're going to be getting their money out of this, but I just want to say I think it's a flop. And I've been seeing them now chugging along for years. This isn't a new app. I think maybe for some people this is the first time they're hearing about it, but they went on Love Thy Nader. They went to her office, and she was like, this girl boss business that Mary Beth Holland was supposed to want to be, and it was corny as hell.
35:24Jackie Oshry:And it's very like the futurist female, Sofia Amoroso.
35:28Claudia Oshry:The talking point.
35:29Jackie Oshry:Yeah, it's corny as hell. And it's not working.
35:32Claudia Oshry:So and it's like anything can like be successful if you're just going to like have endless money access power celebrities. Networks. Yeah. You know, so I just don't think anything that's meant to be successful needs this level of celebrity involvement, you know. And also at a certain point, like people don't listen to celebrities.
35:49Jackie Oshry:You find on certain subjects for real.
35:52Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Like having a celebrity spokesperson like I think sometimes it's good for like, you know, awareness. But people really listen to celebrities.
36:02Jackie Oshry:I do think the angle of like making a moment out of your investors is like an interesting. But now anytime I see Haley Bieber, Chloe talking about this app, I'm like, first of all, you don't use it. And second of all, I know you're only telling me about it because you're an investor. So it's like it eliminates a little bit of like the I think authenticity. And like the the conversion. Yeah. Like why would I listen to you? You don't use this app and you're being paid or, you know, I think the bigger thing is
36:28Claudia Oshry:like it's not really the app is like should be marketed by relatable. people who would use it not necessarily people who wouldn't yeah so everyone on my feed was
36:39Jackie Oshry:posting about this yesterday and i was just like i seriously was rolling my eyes yeah but maybe i'll be wrong and it's a huge head i just like i would have thought this app would be over by now not because now it's now it's like two years of me seeing it's like more life on the periphery now it's like even bigger and better and i'm like but it's not working yeah but i guess they can like
37:00Claudia Oshry:other products that might have not like converted to being in the green at this point like would have to shut down because everybody has to like go home and like pay their pay their bills well
37:09Jackie Oshry:i saw that um the girls themselves must be dazzling you know because i saw chloe talking about how chris went on the podcast she was like so impressed with the girls that she invested and then like told her daughters about it and that's how chloe got involved um so they must be like smart charismatic like it's impressive to pull like these kind of numbers but you're also bill Gates his daughter so yeah yeah even though you know he famously like gives his kids three dollars
37:34Claudia Oshry:a month like whatever I think it's like I don't know if it's three dollars a month I think it's like one percent of his wealth you know I'll take it which is like a hundred million dollars yeah yeah um okay ready for our next story Anna Kendrick is set to direct Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo after the second filmmaker departs Netflix movie adaptation so one of our favorite books of all time if you are getting into reading or you're a reader and you haven't read Seven Husbands. You need to read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and for years it has been said that it's being made into a movie and we haven't heard much but apparently two filmmakers have left and now Anna Kendrick is set to film make.
38:07Claudia Oshry:Thoughts, Claudia? Hate! I
38:10Jackie Oshry:fucking hate this. First of all, she's not a director. So like a first time female director, I'm good. She's not filming. I don't know why I said female. Just a first time director, period. Oh, sorry. you're a first time male director first time director like no first of all it's giving justin
38:29Claudia Oshry:maldoni a thousand percent love book first time is he casting herself too oh lord that's what
38:36Jackie Oshry:justin actually she could be celia please no like that's so when we all talk for literally years about this book and who we would cast is it gonzalez like just a chastity please we never once brought up anna kendrick for a reason like no i hate this like i just want to say and where is it? Netflix, you say? Netflix. What did I say last week? When it comes to adapting books, leave it to Hulu. Netflix has an atrocious track record of adapting popular books into movies and TV shows. I didn't realize consciously until this moment that they were in charge of seven husbands. It's going to be bad. Let's just all prepare ourselves.
39:10Jackie Oshry:And now Anna Kendrick. So we have Netflix, bad. Anna Kendrick, bad. I hate this.
39:15Claudia Oshry:Any other casting news or nothing or just? No. So they mentioned in this article how fans want Jessica Chastain to play Evelyn Hugo, but the actress shared years ago that there's zero possibility of it happening. I wonder why. They want her to play Celia. It said Evelyn Hugo here.
39:29Jackie Oshry:Well, the article's wrong because Celia's redhead.
39:30Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And Evelyn Flatton. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anna de Arma should play her.
39:34Jackie Oshry:A hundred percent. I feel like she was cast. Well, the book has now been talked about. A lot of the characters have aged out.
39:39Claudia Oshry:Like we've been casting this for so many years. Watch, it's going to be fucking Anne Hathaway. A screenwriter whose credits include Tiny Beautiful Things and Little Fires Everywhere wrote the first draft of the script. It also sounds like the production itself
39:52Jackie Oshry:is like in a bad place. Now it's a second director.
39:54Claudia Oshry:And then they had another one who's editing the script. Why do we know this? We all collectively... Are we about to see the script new and all give our thoughts?
40:03Jackie Oshry:This is bad. I hope that this gets stuck forever. Yeah, I'd rather not have an adaptation than a really bad one. I hate to be so negative. I'm sorry. But I just, I don't want to... And so like it's an important book to a lot of people. For a lot of us, it was a gateway to reading. And I'm scared. Yeah. I'm really scared.
40:22Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Let's keep hoping that they can't get it off the ground.
40:25Jackie Oshry:Like seriously, if you were to tell me that they're like tapping a random actress to direct, I would have thought like Eve Longoria directs. Margot Robbie. Yeah. Sydney Sweeney directs. She has a new production company. Never in my life would I have said Anna Kendrick. Like this is such a bad call. Sydney Sweeney can be Celia if she dyes her hair. That would be good. Yeah, anyone can be Celia because, like, yes, it'd be nice to have, you know, you, Madeline Petsch, a redhead. But, yeah, anyone can be redhead. I think the casting that's a little bit more particular is Celia. I mean, excuse me, is Evelyn because it's all about this, like, Latin actress who's, like, white passing.
41:01Jackie Oshry:So it's a – she doesn't have an accent or anything, but she speaks fluent Spanish. So they have to be a little bit more – yeah, but anyone can be Evelyn. Yeah, Celia.
41:10Claudia Oshry:Sorry, yeah. So we'll wait and see. Hate. Are you ready for our next story? Yes. I hope, I just want to like, you know, hold your hand while I tell you this. What did Sam Hunt do? Pepe Garcia was spotted. Oh, please. I'm so over him. Spotted on a date with Miranda from Slamu. So Pepe Garcia from last season of Love Island, you know, Pepe of Iris and Pepe.
41:32Jackie Oshry:Oh, I just want to say, Pepe, I know people are going to, and this is going to mean nothing to you. Pepe, on a very low key way, people are going to think I'm crazy, but he does give a little bit Garrett Graham. Just saying. Go. Everyone's Garrett Graham today. If only everyone was Garrett Graham today.
41:45Claudia Oshry:Was spotted on a date with Miranda from Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. They were on a date in Miami, and there are some photos from there dinnard.
41:54Jackie Oshry:So, like, while I do love this, love to see Pepe back in the fold, just, literally just as I unfollowed him maybe two days ago. He knew he had to get you back. You know these Love Island people, like, they really have such a, and I really felt like I was following him for a long time.
42:06Claudia Oshry:Because the thing about you, it's like you're a sweeper in all manners of life, like including your Instagram following. Like for me, like once I follow someone, like I am committed to - You're followed for life? Pretty much like through the highs and the lows. Like it might be like eight years before I unfollow someone that I followed on a random season on a bachelor. Yeah, I actually just did that with one person. And I felt really bad. Who? No, I'm not saying. I'll tell you after. You won't even know who I'm talking about.
42:34Jackie Oshry:Oh, I know her. Yeah.
42:35Claudia Oshry:Do I reach follow?
42:36Jackie Oshry:Yeah.
42:38Claudia Oshry:No, I'm kidding. That's really crazy of you. I'm like, yeah, that's just how I approach the follow. Like it's not something. I'm a sweeper, yes. You, I feel like, do a monthly sweep of your following. Not monthly, but like. Quarterly.
42:49Jackie Oshry:If someone's on my for you page and I'm like, oh, you shouldn't be there. I just immediately take action. Yeah.
42:53Claudia Oshry:It's the sweeper like nature in you.
42:56Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I just unfollowed him last week.
42:57Claudia Oshry:So he knew he had to get your attention. He's a desperate ploy for attention. And he's spot on a date with Miranda. Now, I like Pepe, I think, because I think he cheated on Iris and I don't like that.
43:07Jackie Oshry:So I like Pepe, but in the context of Pepe as a boyfriend, he's certainly not who I would choose for any person. Let alone a mother? I don't think he cheated on Iris. I think they had a bad relationship, and he was really mean after they broke up. Oh, but why did they break up? I don't know.
43:24Claudia Oshry:Okay. I don't know. I just feel like she's a serious girl. She has kids. I don't know if he's like this. Iris?
43:29Jackie Oshry:Oh, sorry. Miranda.
43:31Claudia Oshry:Oh, this is terrible for Miranda.
43:33Jackie Oshry:I don't know if he's the stepfather they need. No, he's not going to be the guy who stepped up. Like, I think that it's clear based on her ex. Like, she has terrible taste in men. Like, she obviously goes for the wrong guys. It could be worse than Pepe, though. Yeah, it could be worse. But I don't think he's that serious. Again, yeah, when you're a person dating and you also have kids, like, you can't be dumb like everyone else. Like, you can't just, like, fling yourself around. Like, you have to be a little bit more intentional, even when you're, like, single and carefree.
43:57Claudia Oshry:And she is intentional. So I'm going to trust her on this. And maybe it's, like, he wants to be on the show a little bit. Pepe and dad talk. Maybe he wants to be on Salmo a little bit. And like that works for me. Me too. He needs it. I like this storyline. Even if it goes nowhere, like I'm interested.
44:12Jackie Oshry:And you know that like the former castmates from Love Island like last year, their clock has run out. Like the new season starts today. So if you're not, Nicolandria.
44:22Claudia Oshry:Did you see that video of Nicolandria at 11 in Miami? Yes, I did. Throwing the dollar bills. Nicolandria is just like, I think it's the loneliest place on earth.
44:30Jackie Oshry:Not only that, I feel like Nick of Nicolandria is like really struggling. like I think she is getting all the love and attention so the relationship really suits her. I don't think so. It props her up like she's really benefiting from it way more than he is. Oh I completely disagree. He does like appearances and stuff. I think that like maybe at one point that was enough but like she's at such a high level and he's literally just there.
44:54Claudia Oshry:I feel like she doesn't know fame outside of Nicolandria and it's just comfortable for her and I think they are good friends and like it's just what you know and that's comfortable But I think if she breaks up with him, like she her star would soar. Yes, of course.
45:08Jackie Oshry:She doesn't realize that. No, maybe she doesn't. But she's still having major success within Nicolandria. Nicolandria is now stifling. But if Nicolandria ends. Nick ends. He doesn't get that. It only goes down from here. He thinks he's going to be like the next Olandria. And he's not. Yeah. But no, all the other castmates, besides for really them, I don't think anybody else is like really doing anything. Their time has run out. So, yeah, running to a popular franchise like Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is pretty good strategy on Pepe's part.
45:34Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but there's always pot stirrers and winter games. Traitors. Not traitors. Well, not for any of them but Maura and Rob. Like, you can go from Love Island. Oh, that's true. Rob did. But that was like a bigger season. I don't think any of them are big enough for traitors. But there's a lot of like like, you know. Elandra could go on traitors. Yeah, she could. She should. Yeah.
45:55Jackie Oshry:I'm gonna be all that time away from her annoying boyfriend. Maybe she'll
45:58Claudia Oshry:fall in love on traitors. Has anyone ever fallen in love
46:01Jackie Oshry:on traitors i don't think so i'm ready for it you know jojo c was still with the guy that she fell in love with on celebrity big brother i just saw her post like a carousel of their one year
46:09Claudia Oshry:anniversary that was crazy that was like her girlfriend watching she came in gay and left with a boyfriend i know but her and her girlfriend in a relationship to her girlfriend was watching her fall right with a man right on tv and everybody was like it's an act they're being funny they're friends no no they're in love yeah i love that for her are you ready for our fifth and final story.
46:32Jackie Oshry:If it's our fifth and final story, that's brought to you by Outshine. So Outshine is a refreshing frozen snack made with real, simple ingredients like real fruit and fruit juice to help you snack brighter. Because Outshine believes when you snack good, you feel good. Outshine offers a wide variety of fruit bars, mini fruit props that come in tons of crave-worthy flavors. And it's a refreshing snack that's just under 100 calories. Most of their bars are around 60 calories. Plus, the mini fruit packs come with a variety of three fruit flavors and are less than 40 calories each. We always have those ones, like the variety packs, stocked up in the freezer.
47:04Jackie Oshry:Such a good summertime refreshing treat. Now, when it comes to flavors, they have strawberry, mango, coconut, pineapple, watermelon, and then new black cherry. Plus, they have fruit blends, which is two or more fruit flavors swirled together into one. We love a swirl. So they've got, and here are the flavors, and let's do a little game of to swirl or not to swirl. Cherry limeade. Choose your favorite. Choose your player, as the kids say. Cherry limeade, piña culada, tropical breeze, blueberry lemonade.
47:34Claudia Oshry:I think I've got to swore with blueberry lemonade.
47:36Jackie Oshry:I know. I also, I do like a cherry limeade. Like cherry lime is a good blend. I like when people just get creative.
47:41Claudia Oshry:It's kind of like a Jackson Claw. Exactly. Like two things that are so different but work so well together.
47:46Jackie Oshry:So true. And everybody looks at them and says those two things could never. And then there they are 10 years later.
47:49Claudia Oshry:And it's like how do we ever have them separate? A success.
47:53Jackie Oshry:What's inside every Outshine fruit bar? Real fruit or fruit juice and a good source of vitamin C. What's not inside is GMO ingredients. There's no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, colors. Plus, they're fat-free and gluten-free. So it makes it really easy to experience the joy of fruit. Many fruits are delicious, but take work like a coconut. You know, who has the time? Well, you could just have an outshine bar and get the same experience in a much less tense situation. I love a frozen snack. I love an outshine. They're such a good thing to have like on inventory.
48:24Claudia Oshry:Yeah, especially like with summer coming up. It is so warm here. It's like a great way to cool down. The kids love it. Refreshed. It's fun for the whole family. Fun for the whole family.
48:34Jackie Oshry:So when it comes to like favorite flavors, there's a couple that we'd like to discuss. But the watermelon frozen fruit bars. Let's discuss them. Let's discuss them. The ones that are the frozen fruit bars that are made with real fruit. That's like an OG. We had those all the time growing up. We did. And honestly, it's such a now like as a parent, like it's such a good snack. But we were just loving it. We had no idea. Like it was just a delicious frozen snack. They also have pineapple frozen fruit bars, which is also made with real juice and fruit. The mango frozen fruit bars, which has real fruit.
49:00Jackie Oshry:And then the Alchine cherry mini frozen fruit pops that are made with real juice. You can find Alchine fruit bars and the mini fruit pops in the freezer aisle at retailers nationwide. I have to say their distribution is on fleek. Every time I'm doing like an online order or I'm at the actual grocery store, it's so easy to find. And there's so many different flavors. I really do like you can have like the wider ones or then the mini ones that have like the variety pack. And that's just good to have because everybody's like, oh, I have blue. I have red. Have you ever seen Jake Shane, like when he does the reveal?
49:25Jackie Oshry:No. That's literally how it feels when you open the pop, like which flavor you're going to get.
49:29Claudia Oshry:It's true. Also, like whenever we go on vacation, they're like a staple on our grocery list. And like everywhere we go, we get them and they have them.
49:35Jackie Oshry:Today's episode is also brought to you by Parallel. So a lot of women start pregnancy low on nutrients without even realizing it. So it's really better to build it up before you need it. Starting early with your prenatals and supplements makes it easy to be calm and proactive, not urgent and stressful. So if you think it's too early to start a prenatal, it's most likely not. OBs actually recommend starting 6 to 12 months before you're starting to try. I had an OB once who told me like every woman of a certain age should just be on prenatals instead of trying to catch up once you actually get pregnant.
50:02Jackie Oshry:And then also sometimes like your hair grows. It's just like a nice little benefit. Your nails get nice and strong. And Parallel is such a great option for that before era, for the trying to conceive era, for the actual natal era. They created a conception support pack for the in-between season. It's not just a generic prenatal. It includes nutrients, OBs prioritized before conception like CoQ10, DHA, folate, choline. It's founded by practicing OBGYN, and there's literally no downside to starting early. It functions basically as a really high-quality daily multivitamin, which most women should be taking.
50:31Jackie Oshry:Most women don't. If your timeline shifts, totally fine. You're just still supporting your body with pargy nutrients. They even have vitamins for the man in your life if you want to get optimized for him as well during your trying-to-conceive era. So if you're pregnant, if you're trying, if you're postpartum, definitely check out Parallel. We really can't recommend it enough. For actual pregnancy, I really like that their prenatals are, you know, they change. They have one for the first trimester, one for the second. And it's like, well, yeah. Like, I can't believe that that's not a thing for everyone.
50:56Jackie Oshry:So Parallel is really ahead of the curve. We have an exclusive code just for you guys where new customers can get 20 % off when you go to ParallelHealth.com slash Toast and use code Toast. 52:42Claudia Oshry:Thank you, Slash Tartt. You're welcome. I just saw an article on TMZ. Like, I guess one of the new Love Islanders. What do they do now? No, he's a former cop. Oh, and his boss is upset. And the mayor of his city is like, the fuck? Because he left the force.
52:56Jackie Oshry:And I just want to say, mayor's an arc. The guy did nothing wrong. like you're allowed to quit your job to pursue a reality tv show we can talk about you behind your back but like for the mayor to release a statement like the guy quite literally did nothing wrong no
53:06Claudia Oshry:but he said like police departments across the country are already struggling to recruit and retain officers and like that he left in under a year you know all those resources poured into his recruiting training but like to put the you know the national crisis on this one love island contestant oh yeah like it's a lot it's a lot no it's a lot it is sorry that that happened of course like going on a vacation where you could like potentially come away with a million followers and millions of dollars like is maybe you could give that money back to the police force like maybe he could but you know what at the end so of course it's like by force i'm going to be famous by force but like let's talk to him in two years from now and i think he'll be i think he'll be missing his force friends yeah and the stability of the force not ever you should go through
53:49Jackie Oshry:training not after this yeah you definitely put a target on your back and i do think like sometimes
53:53Claudia Oshry:you could like leave your position or take a leave to go on love island like if you've been in the force a while but he's like there under a year you know that was like kevin from the bachelor was a firefighter yeah before and then he went on the bachelor and he's still a firefighter today
54:05Jackie Oshry:like it can be handled well yeah but this guy but this guy also has no idea that like the former mayor who he probably like never met or spoke to was like rattling off about him publicly because
54:14Claudia Oshry:he's in the island with no phone you know what's also crazy is like you look at like the new cast of islanders that dropped and it's like okay whatever it means nothing but like if you think Think about past seasons. Like those are the people who are going to be there the entire time. I know. The original Islander.
54:27Jackie Oshry:Being an original Islander is such an unfair advantage. To the point where like they have such toxic alliances that they keep voting.
54:35Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And it's like, I mean, it's hard to get to know people based on like a video, but I'm not like taken away by these. Like it's just crazy that these people are going to hold the show down.
54:46Jackie Oshry:That's like a flaw with the show that like people come earnestly. I mean, Jalen. people come with like good intentions and they get kicked off just because they have these like moronic alliances to like keep their friends there yeah their friends who have no prospects who are literally hated by everyone huda like nobody wants to couple up with them yeah people literally they're repellent but they get to stay on it's a flaw in the show and i know now that i'm
55:07Claudia Oshry:remembering i get like pissed and then when we get the chance to vote someone out america we're behind we have we're using old information and then we see an episode like hannah and pepe and Charlie and we vote out Charlie because we think Hannah likes Pepe, but Hannah likes Charlie.
55:22Jackie Oshry:Also, I saw like the intro video of this girl. She's blonde. She's like a cutie from Georgia. Is that her name? And I just want to say like, I seriously blame everybody who voted for Amaya. Like that's what the producers think we want. They're giving us more Amaya. More like, yeah, like sort of like, I hate that shit. Yeah. And I just want to say I never felt for Amaya. No, not for one second. You can roll the tapes. You roll the tapes. Like I never voted for her. And now people are like, first of all, it's insane that she won. It's insane that Brian won. Yeah, right. I never fell for it. And like, I just think that I will be rewarded in the afterlife for like never having fallen for DMI and Papaya at all.
56:00Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I agree. Who would you have had win the season? No, like the thing is no one. Oh, Iris and Pepe. Well, of course. But like they broke up. Ace and Shelly broke up. But at least they were real couples. I would have had Ace and Shelly win the season. They deserved to win the season. They were there since day one and they were actually in a relationship. No, they were in a relationship and they like effectively bullied everyone out. Like, sorry, that's winner. Like you won. Yeah, no. And everyone like, you know, yelled at him for being like a master manipulator. I don't know. Maybe I would have had Huda and Chris win.
56:27Claudia Oshry:But like, yeah, no, he manipulated. Like, great. Isn't that what you wanted? Isn't that what you guys do here? Our fifth and final story. Giants signed Braxton Berrios. Oh, yeah. The Giants signed Braxton Berrios to their team. They held a high profile wide receiver workout on Monday morning. Oh, wide receiver. They kept saying WR. I'm like, I could not.
56:48Jackie Oshry:Running. Yes. I was like, running. I could not think wide receiver. I was like, West runner. I couldn't. Okay. West Wilson, Madam Marvel.
57:00Claudia Oshry:West Wilson, Wicked Witch. They held a high profile wide receiver workout on Monday morning featuring Odell Beckham Jr., Juju Smith-Schuster, Braxton Berrios, and Anthony Miller. So are they saying that like Braxton beat out all those people? And the first winner of the competition was Braxton. But those people are on the team? No, I think maybe they were like, it was like a tryout. Oh, interesting. Go Braxton. I think this is kind of huge. I think this is huge. For their relationship. Agreed. But it's like, I'm starting to get the feeling now that like Braxton doesn't want to be with Alex. No fucking way.
57:34Claudia Oshry:But like Braxton is the one who moved on. Like Alex is the one who's like upset.
57:38Jackie Oshry:When you get like left in the dust, because I do believe that she broke up with him. Like you kind of have no choice. That's what we were saying last week. it's almost better to have been broken up with because there was nothing you could have done
57:45Claudia Oshry:like you have no choice but to move on i'm telling you i think braxton ended it and maybe it's because he wants like a bit like he doesn't want a girlfriend who's traveling all the time maybe he wants to like get married and have kids soon i'm starting to get the feeling that braxton ended it because if it was if alex had ended it and it was because like he's a big loser um this would be good place for the texans this is good for that narrative because now he's in new york like New York is a cool place to live. Yeah. For sure.
58:10Jackie Oshry:I think her having to fly once a week to Texas was really getting in the way of her business. I think if she had to be in New York once a week, she would probably, I mean, her sister lives in New York. Her family's from New Jersey. Everything New York Fashion Week.
58:21Claudia Oshry:The Giants, don't they play in New Jersey? She could stay at her parents' house.
58:23Jackie Oshry:Yeah, no, but if she had to live in New York for the season, that would not affect her business at all. It would probably be good for business.
58:28Claudia Oshry:And she wouldn't just always be running to leave. Whereas when she's in Houston, she's there for Braxton and Braxton only.
58:33Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I do think that she's like slowly becoming a permanent resident of Los Angeles, which I'm watching and I like hate for her because I can only imagine what it's like to pretty much overnight become not overnight, but like very quickly become so famous. And she probably gets like, let's just say brand deals, like maybe 15 to 20 million dollars in brand deals a year. And like she's already a Florida resident. Like she doesn't pay income tax. And I see her moving. I know she bought a place in L.A. And now she's spending a lot of time there. It almost feels like she's spending more than half the year.
59:02Jackie Oshry:I don't even think she has a place. she stays at Braxton's member and then I don't know where she stays in Florida she's like never in Florida I feel like she's giving up her um tax residency in Florida I just want to say
59:11Claudia Oshry:I think that's a huge mistake I feel like she won't give up her residency here and like she'll spend as many days as she can in LA but I feel like her dad would never let her no that's that's
59:22Jackie Oshry:insane it's insane yeah don't do it don't zoo it so I actually think about Alex that's always been so great it's like she's not one of those LA influencers and she's randomly from Miami like there's not a lot she's the biggest influencer of course like in the world but also in Miami and it's been like this fun weird thing about her that she's not from like New York or LA um so I kind of hate that for her no and like when you become an influencer in LA there's
59:43Claudia Oshry:definitely like a lot of opportunities a lot of like opportunities for collaboration and I think when you're at a certain point in your influencing career it's great to move to LA because rising tides raise all sides but at other point like you do start to get like lost in the sauce and You're one of everyone. Exactly. One of many. Exactly. So, but I actually saw, I don't know where I saw this, that like right now New York City is the number one city for influencers. Like what? TikTok? For influencers. Just like the amount of influencers who live in New York is like more than anywhere else right now.
1:00:12Claudia Oshry:That's cool. I like that. Yeah. They're obviously talking about me. Of course. Yeah. Of course they are.
1:00:17Jackie Oshry:Well, congrats to Braxton. Like he's employed. That's always a good way to get a girlfriend. Like getting a job. This is for men everywhere. And that's a great segue. I think. I know. So I'm just saying. Rapskin wants a wife. That's a good segue into Dear Toasters. Like if you want a wife, if you want a girlfriend, the first thing you should do is get a job. Because not enough men have jobs. Let's dive into Dear Toasters, our weekly advice segment where people write in. People in need. People in distress. Listeners of this show wanting to get advice from their two favorite girls. If you ever want to write in, email us, deartosters at gmail.com or head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com.
1:00:48Okay.
1:00:48Jackie Oshry:Hey, Swirlies. So last summer, my friends and I were bar hopping as young toasters do. and I may or may not have had one too many and ended up making out with an older gentleman. In my defense, he didn't look that old but it was captured on video and it's just like a funny inside joke for the past year. Fast forward last week, my mom goes and talks about this new man she's seeing and how she's so happy that they met through one of her co-workers at her new job. Seriously, end the show. My parents have been divorced for the past six years. This is the first time where I've actually seen my mom dating.
1:01:11Jackie Oshry:She's so excited and happy and I'm so excited for her to be so happy. Where this all goes wrong is I walked down the stairs last night and guess who the hell is opening a bottle of wine next to my mother but the same man that I kissed at a bar last summer. I ran the fuck out of the house I have not said a single thing to anyone I don't know what to do and I'm so scared to see this man again in my house with my mother I had to run and tell my toasty queens dead ass help I don't know what to do
1:01:32Claudia Oshry:I don't believe it I believe it but I'm in shock
1:01:37Jackie Oshry:the thing is I only wish you stayed with him a little bit longer to see if he recognized you is this a secret you two have or only you remember if only you remember it dies with you
1:01:45Claudia Oshry:he definitely remembers he doesn't drink like a party she only really remembers is because she has a video. I don't know, like an older gentleman. Well, maybe he doesn't have the video, so he's not always looking at you. Right, and as a year ago,
1:01:56Jackie Oshry:an older gentleman having some drinks, not blackout, like I think there's actually a high chance that he could not remember.
1:02:01Claudia Oshry:I think it's time to move away from home, you know? I love that. There comes a time in every woman's life where it's time to leave the nest, and this might be the thing.
1:02:08Jackie Oshry:Yeah. You don't tell your mom. No, you don't tell your mom. No, no, no. Sorry, you don't tell your mom.
1:02:14Claudia Oshry:You should call Noah Cyrus and get her advice.
1:02:18Jackie Oshry:See what she did, but I don't think she ever made out with Dominic Purcell. It was that she like loved him and her mom took him from her. This is also, what was the idea of you? Thank you. Yeah, except the girl was 11. So like she was never making out with Harry Styles. Like it was just a crush. Yeah. Sharing a partner with a parent is obviously a bad situation. One I've never been in, so I can't help you.
1:02:47Jackie Oshry:and roadway moving is an amazing moving company it is and i think it's time to set up with
1:02:53Claudia Oshry:horizons and hope that they break up and then you can come home in terms of actual tangible advice
1:02:58Jackie Oshry:i would probably believe that this guy doesn't remember although you do have to like see him again to see if there's any sort of like twinkle in his eye um and if he gives off the vibe that He has no idea. Like, unfortunately, this is just your secret and you have to live with it. Just hope that they break up. And start badmatching him to your mom. Yeah. Start, like, laying the foundation, being like, oh, you know, someone I know knows him. He, you know. He's a bad guy. Yeah. He's getting really aggressive. Like, I don't know. Just, like, make some shit up. Make some motherfucking shit up.
1:03:26Claudia Oshry:That's terrible. Oh, my God. That's, like, actually maybe the worst one. That's very nauseating. It's really, like, we're stuck. Like mother, like daughter.
1:03:34Jackie Oshry:Next up. Hey, swirlies. I'm going to cut to the chase. I was sent a screen recording of a Tinder profile of my husband of four years, the father of my five-month-old twins. The person who sent it to me is an old coworker who recognized my husband immediately. The profile had a different name, but the photos, bio, information, and interests all matched my husband. It even said father of twins, not looking for a mother. He claims it's a fake profile. His phone was hacked. In his defense, slightly, we checked, and he did have fraudulent charges on his card. 90 % of our relationship, we've been solid, but post having the twins, we're on shaky ground with a drastic change.
1:04:02Jackie Oshry:I just don't know what to think. Do I trust my husband? Should I be worried that he's at least emotionally cheating? any advice would help sincerely a tired postpartum toaster who doesn't want single parent twins
1:04:11Claudia Oshry:yeah like is there not a way to confirm this like there is like even if he deleted tinder off of his
1:04:19Jackie Oshry:phone like you've redownloaded the app you can see first of all if he is you when you go to an app store to his email search tinder does he get like hey welcome to tinder emails maybe it's like a burner email go to his app store if you have an app that you've already downloaded even if you deleted it would just say redownload yes but if you've never had tinder years ago like and true
1:04:35Claudia Oshry:open the app it'll say like re-login like it'll memorize your stuff like i'm sorry he needs you need a full fucking audit yeah you do if he ever used tinder before it doesn't have to be today
1:04:47Jackie Oshry:like it might be his old profile that would come up with his real name yeah if there's a fake ass profile with like danny or whoever yeah um i feel like there are ways to confirm we don't have to
1:04:59Claudia Oshry:like live in wonder exactly but sometimes i think people like prefer to live in wonder especially at this stage of like this stage I kind of want to say just like set it down for the moment you know
1:05:09Jackie Oshry:yeah I also respect like I think some people would rather be in like an iffy situation than like have to face like like she said being a single parent starting over with twin five
1:05:20Claudia Oshry:month olds like I'm sorry that not today yeah not today if anything he's like your live-in caretaker
1:05:27Jackie Oshry:nanny until you guys can work this out but like your five months was part of like you're seriously so in it like you really shouldn't make I think you said this one's like no major life changes
1:05:34Claudia Oshry:should be made within two years of having a baby yeah and so not today you know not today and so I don't know if he did or he didn't and you could spend the time trying to figure it out but even if you found out that he did right now like seriously that would be incredibly inconvenient truth yes
1:05:48Jackie Oshry:but you don't need to live in the gray area Jackie's right like they're very easy ways to figure out whether this was a real profile or fake profile there's a digital trail and also like
1:05:56Claudia Oshry:you do need to know if he was cheating on you because you should not have sex with him yeah
1:05:59Jackie Oshry:Of course. No, no. So like, don't let him gaslight you into being like, it was fraud. Like you can figure it out. Like, yeah. Just because you have like a fake, your credit card got stolen. Everyone's gets stolen. And also like, what's the fraud?
1:06:09Claudia Oshry:Like that could have been, is it him saying it's fraud? Right.
1:06:12Jackie Oshry:You like, you need to spend like an hour. It'll be really quick. Like figuring all this out. Yeah. And once you start the audit, he might just come clean. Perhaps. Like save yourself the time because who knows what else you'll find. Perhaps.
1:06:24Claudia Oshry:And hopefully he can like rehabilitate himself. Hopefully.
1:06:29Jackie Oshry:and if and nothing else just he's your living nanny we'll see you in a year and a half literally hey jackson claude my husband and i got married about nine months ago we didn't live together before and we were both night shower people so naturally newlyweds infatuated with one another we started showering together every night but now nine months later we still shower together every night and i'm going to hate it first we have a tiny apartment shower we're cramped and only one of us is under the water at a time second i'm in the shower to decompress and get clean but He loves the quality time, wants to hug and kiss.
1:06:58Jackie Oshry:Something deep within me gets so irritated when I'm trying to wash my hair and he grabs my boobs. I feel like I'm so far deep into showering every day with him. And I don't know. I'm sorry. And I know that he loves getting to be together during this time. And he's so genuinely sad if he comes home and I tell him I've already showered. So married Swirlies, how do I tell him to phase out of showering together?
1:07:18Claudia Oshry:You need to just like start, switch up your schedule. Like shower before him. You're a morning shower now. Like say you got like a carrot in treatment and now you have to shower in the mornings for your hair. Like I don't think you need to have a sit down and be like I don't like showering together because that will hurt his feelings. And of course at the end of the day like he's doing this because he loves you and like he wants to feel close to you. But I just want to say I disagree.
1:07:38Jackie Oshry:Like I think you can have a sit down conversation and tell him like if you don't have your shower time like and you're kind of setting the tone for the rest of your relationship. Like even when you live in close quarters with someone the one place that you have to yourself is like when you're taking a dump or you're taking a shower. Like, and he's taken that from you. I just think like communicating, this is like a good opportunity, kind of a, kind of like a very innocent opportunity for you to like reclaim and like, just be like, listen, I love you. And like, we could chat together sometimes like daily, like for a girl, like we have a lot to do.
1:08:06Jackie Oshry:Like, can you fuck off? You could do that. I would do it. This is a situation where I feel honesty is the best policy and it's a good practice for just like saying hard things, communicating. You just got married. You're going to have lots of conversations like this, even harder.
1:08:19Claudia Oshry:yeah but you could also just subtly back away from the shower yeah of course you can change your routine um yeah get a perm yeah like shower before him yeah also if you have a perm then you'd be like well you get my hair wet and yeah so there's a million like fake excuses where you
1:08:37Jackie Oshry:could like blame just being a girl but i think here like let's exercise our communication skills okay it's not a slight against him like to want to shower by yourself which is like a basic human right. I don't think you're asking too much and I think if we like have to skirt around it you're setting a bad precedent.
1:08:52Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Okay. I think either one. He sounds really sweet. I feel like it's really not a huge issue and some girls have kissed their mom's boyfriends.
1:09:01Jackie Oshry:That's why it's important to have different like levels of dear toasters because like it makes your problems feel so small.
1:09:08Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And some girls have. Like there's a girl out there who's hooked up with her mom's boyfriend. Some girls have five month old twins and are grappling with the fact that their husband might be on Tinder. Not to make those girls feel bad, but... Yeah, but to the girl with the Tinder husband, she kissed her mom's boyfriend. And to the girl with the mom's boyfriend, she has the husband on Tinder.
1:09:26Jackie Oshry:True.
1:09:28Claudia Oshry:Perspective is everything.
