0:03Jackie Oshry:Good morning, girlies. It's the Toast. It's Jackson Claude and we're your hosts. It's your favorite show, the fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the Toast. I sound amazing. Welcome back to The Toast and happy Friday. That's right. Cause for celebration. And I've decided to celebrate by having a guest on the show. You know her. You love her. You know, mom to many, mother to three. It's Jackie O.

0:38Claudia Oshry:Oh, that's so sweet. That's a cute Instagram bio for me.

0:42Jackie Oshry:You know, when we had our six-year toast-iversary party, we like gave a speech. And then we were like thanking, you know, everyone, like our partners and our families. And then we thanked each other. And I remember I had thought of the line before. I said, I forget exactly what I said. I have it on camera somewhere. I said like at the time it was mom of two.

0:58Claudia Oshry:Mom of two, yeah.

1:00Jackie Oshry:Mom of two, like mother to all or something. It was like really insightful.

1:04Claudia Oshry:Wait, I love it. That's such a great Instagram bio for me. Maybe I've graduated from being like Gen Z's big sister. To being like the. Gen Z's mother. The father figure we all need. For sure. I love that. I think I have morphed. I will. That's a really cute bio. Like, what did you say again? Mother. No, mom of three. mother to all. Okay. Mother to many. Something like that. Let me know what you guys think because of course you're going to be able to fine tune it better than myself. By the way, the next time I'm posting a photo on Instagram, I'm posting it to my story first and saying, help me with this caption.

1:34Claudia Oshry:Help me with this caption because it's just a slide. Yeah. All day.

1:37Jackie Oshry:I don't know if I ever told everyone like where I landed on my personal Instagram bio journey because I was like torturing everyone for like a week. Yeah, I thought like strong opinions loosely held. No. And then I changed it and where I landed was something I was really proud of, which was quoting my favorite artist, Chapel Rhone. Um, your favorite podcaster's favorite podcaster. Okay. I'm your favorite artist's favorite artist. And I'm literally your favorite podcaster's favorite podcast.

2:01Claudia Oshry:Oh, okay. I didn't realize that was Chapel. Definitely like knocks it a few points. You have to, um, hate the player, but not the game. You know, I feel as though your bio should be like Queen Corgi.

2:14Jackie Oshry:No, no. Like now and forever. I did see Pug Caso's performance. What did he sing this time? From Spice Girls. Oh, okay. What did he sing? I actually don't remember what song it was, but it was the most amazing rendition. Philip Phillips is insanely talented.

2:28Claudia Oshry:You feel like you would have said that if you didn't know that it was Philip Phillips.

2:31Jackie Oshry:Like when you still thought it was just anonymous Pug Caso. With Ordinary, like it was bothering me how good his cover was. Like talent reigns supreme. That's always been a philosophy, a core tenant here of the toast. Like the cream rises. The cream rises and does. It does.

2:45Claudia Oshry:Happy for Pug Caso that you finally turned a corner. I'm so excited for today. Whoever podcast always we have to have him on the toast when all it's obviously Philip Phillips like it's not even a question on the toast.

2:56Jackie Oshry:Today's episode is so great because we have so many stories the Traders finale we throw away the season of Traders again.

3:03Claudia Oshry:Do we have to wait till the end to recap Traders? Yes. It's like the number one thing in my mind.

3:08Jackie Oshry:Did you watch the reunion? So I did and I want to go out on a limb and say Traders is not a show that needs a reunion. I thought that it was. I didn't want to not watch the whole thing. They were bringing out tears of people. I didn't wait for like the final tier. It was so unserious after the show was made. The show, what I like about it, it's very dramatic. It's theatrical. We're burning coffins. And like it takes you a minute when it's over to be like, this is just a game. It's so serious. It's weird to know how to react. Like, do we love Rob? Do we hate Rob? But I'm saying regardless of wherever you landed, like they just make it so serious.

3:39Jackie Oshry:I think that they lock people. It's like very much like a psychological experiment. You are cut off from the world. And then you go to the reunion, which was so unserious. I was like it was such a like an anticlimactic come down I don't know I kind of like I wish they released the reunion maybe next week I did not like watching the reunion after the finale it felt like okay so that was all like fake in a game and it was so stupid why did I get invested

4:01Claudia Oshry:it was just so late like I turned it off in the middle it was like 11.15 I didn't even know if you were watching it and I was like I have to oh 11.15 no I didn't make it that far I have to prioritize my mental health I wanted to see Maura talk to you know what sorry we'll see it for the end but also it's crazy that they dropped the reunion right after the episode when like for Love Island they had the reunion two months after the episode like ever heard of a week Peacock ever heard of

4:24Jackie Oshry:just like one week not only that like if you had waited like literally one more week like Johnny and Tara two very important characters could have joined not from Milan like it was so janky and then like I actually thought it was not the way they were introducing people like Colton sitting on a big couch by himself like it was so weird like the layout I feel like everyone does

4:42Claudia Oshry:reunions now and no one really knows how to do them except for Andy and housewives and this got that treatment I was like okay good like a normal reunion and honestly I know I knock Andy like a lot and I like you know have a lot of shit to talk about him but nobody does a reunion like him and like I don't know what talent that is but like it just is so smooth and the questions are answered and we get to the need to know information I mean he's done it so many times he has that over other people he's i don't know why like no one else can do it i know no one else can do it you have it's like something that will like die with him you have to be like willing to like start stuff but

5:20Jackie Oshry:also totally affable and like have people open up to you also you just can't you have to have balls

5:25Claudia Oshry:like to say some of these questions you have to have seniority because you can't have balls without

5:30Jackie Oshry:seeing who are you to ask me yeah like relevant right yeah no it's it's an art and he's mastered it completely.

5:36Claudia Oshry:I don't know if we've seen a reunion. I can't even think of all the, like Ariana did Love Island reunion and it's just like, they keep bringing new people to new secret lives. Oh, and he helped her with that. He had to come in.

5:46Jackie Oshry:Yeah. They also keep trying new people for the secret lives of Mormon wives. It's hard.

5:51Claudia Oshry:But there, I can't like judge Stassi on how she hosts a reunion because that was not a reunion. That was a Duncan's Refresher commercial. It was terrible. That was not a reunion.

5:58Jackie Oshry:Agreed. 100%. The art of the reunion. It's going to be lost. I think people thought like Nick vile was like too biased which it's very hard not to be i didn't watch can't me neither um so we will do a full true right as true away recap at the end is that gonna be that's gonna be our final story like i'm literally gonna be sitting on my hands the whole time i know um we've got no biz news we've got queenie and weenie it's kind of like a big chunky day queen and ween queen i mean i'm so excited for my queen i'm gonna introduce you to a for the first time ever i'm breaking boundaries my queenie is historic my queenie is not a person place or thing my queenie is a concept okay air rights no similar like very similar okay in its conceptualness okay and it's a concept like you sort of need to know about okay like air rights much like air rights okay i look forward

6:51Claudia Oshry:to learning something life-changing like air rights yeah for all the buildings i'm buying and developing and unfortunately my weenie is someone in this room

7:02Jackie Oshry:look around i feel like alan cummings i feel like it could only be me because like what are you gonna like slam these you'll say you'll see everybody just stay tuned to the end of the episode for more murder he's so crazy that last outfit like yeah that's what this wind calls no but i first of all i lived for it he looked like a background actor in jawbreaker like insane so not in theme with the rest of his outfits why didn't he host the reunion well i actually appreciate that he did it like he obviously can't like i don't want him to but

7:34Claudia Oshry:like the show has a host the host is good i love that he didn't like i can't explain it like don't but he and he would make it like all about him like no offense to him he's like a theatrical

7:43Jackie Oshry:person yeah it's not about alan murder um so yeah anything else you want to chit chat about

7:50Claudia Oshry:No, what was yesterday? We moshed hard. We played mosh on yesterday. We moshed till like the club closed down.

7:57Jackie Oshry:Till we literally tilled the break of Zorn.

8:00Claudia Oshry:It was a good day for mosh. Everybody won. It was good. Yeah, everyone won. I felt like good. I had a cut. I played some new hands. I won some new hands. That's exciting. Once you like win a new hand, like it's yours. Like I can do that hand anytime, any place. It's going down.

8:13Jackie Oshry:And you really should diversify the types of hands you do because once you like memorize the book, you become a more skilled player. Yeah.

8:19Claudia Oshry:So if you are fluent in every hand, the game is yours. Correct. My gameplay yesterday. Was on point. Was on point. I felt like Rob.

8:31Jackie Oshry:Let's just start the show so we can get to what we need to get to.

8:35Claudia Oshry:Nothing else that you want to share. I'm trying to think. Like we moshed? Miss Margo's here. I had my date night. You had your date night. Let me tell you how bad I wanted to cancel. Wait, but how was it?

8:47Jackie Oshry:Did you like the restaurant? It was all great. And you know what? I love a restaurant that's quick. Like I was so tired. And like we both were like, we can't cancel. We can't cancel. Like staying up past bedtime to go to dinner. We were like, we can't cancel. We can't cancel. We were so tired. And it was traders. Like I just wanted to get in my cozies. But we were like, we are doing this fucking date night and you're going to like it. And so we went and they sat us early. They dinner was literally under an hour. They had the fastest service ever. The food was delicious. Are you glad that you went?

9:16Jackie Oshry:Tens, tens, tens across the board. When you were sitting there where you're like, I'm glad we did this. Yes. And actually I hadn't seen Ben all day. We had a lot to catch up with. I told him about Mahjong and stuff with work. And I got like, you know, and it was good. It was like, I understand why people do day night. I feel more connected. Oh, good. I was so tired. And I was like wearing the same outfit and makeup that I put on at 9 a.m. I felt disgusting. But you know what?

Read the full transcript

9:37Claudia Oshry:Day night. Okay, good. I'm glad. Because sometimes like when you go out, it's just like this. I shouldn't have done this. I know. My time. Like I need those hours back. Traders, et cetera.

9:46Jackie Oshry:Oh, and then like, you know, everywhere here like has valet. Everywhere you go has valet. There was this couple fighting so badly, like this older couple in like whispers, you know, but I was standing right next to them. It was probably the best part of the night, like living. She was so mean. What was the problem? Something about real estate. Like he must have made a mistake. And she was like, and now we have to list it for a million more or something. Like, I know she was so fucking scary. And I'm like, I just knew she was right, you know. And he was just like withering away, like coming into himself.

10:16Jackie Oshry:And I'm like, keep going, girl. Go. Get him. I just knew. Like, I just knew.

10:21Claudia Oshry:Wow. Yeah. Okay. Well, happy for you guys. What I was saying, Miss Margo's here. Did you know that? We're spending the weekend with our little sis. Sad she came to my house last night. That's also why I had to start Trader's Lake because she came at like 830. And a good host to put out a spread. And I like needed to see my little sister and catch up with her. And how was our little sister? She was adorable. Did you say anything about me? Not a word. Tracks. We mostly asked about her, you know. And how is she? She's good. And I think she's, like, excited to be here with her family. You think? I do.

10:49Claudia Oshry:I think she's craving family, like the little girl at Mr. C. Sometimes all you need is family. She loves her sisters and her family. And that's just, like, what she needs right now. Fun fact to me, I never need my family.

11:03Jackie Oshry:Because I'm always with my family. Because you desperately need them. No, I don't. Because I'm with. But you are with. You can't crave something you have, you know? I feel like you. Isn't that beautiful? Oh, sure. Because you can't lose something you never have. If you insist, it's beautiful. It is. Once again, not respecting my calls. I'm so used to it at this point. Oh, I saw this like scathing expose on Ballerina Farm this morning on TikTok. It was so frustrating. What's the tea? Like they found her, like I guess Ballerina Farm started as a blog, which was very much like an innermost diary of her thoughts.

11:38Jackie Oshry:At a very crucial time in her life, she had just left New York. She just left Juilliard. She got married. She had kids young. They were living in Brazil. And she was just writing a lot about like in the early days of motherhood, a lot of times she just feels like a cow and a counter cleaner. And, you know, it's crazy how much has changed in her life being like, look, they tore her dreams from her. She can't be a ballerina. And it's like, no, that's just like called being a mom. Like it was really not. It was not that deep. It's just, you know, called life changes. It's called growing up. Like, yeah, no.

12:05Jackie Oshry:And you have very tough choices to make as a woman.

12:07Claudia Oshry:and juggling the person you were with the person you're becoming and yeah you have to make sacrifices it's hard it's hard it's the hardest job in the world yeah i was pleased to see the comment section was like pretty much on my side just being like we have to stop seeing her as

12:22Jackie Oshry:like this perpetual victim like she does have agency over her own life like she does she's okay not being a ballerina like because she's a grown woman now mom of you know no one like Like, ballerinas have to grow up.

12:35Claudia Oshry:Ballerinas grow up, too. You know what I mean? You can't be a ballerina forever. I don't know. That Misty Copeland, she is ballerining. She's crushing it. Like, she's always. There's only one Misty Copeland. It's so true. There's thousands of ballerinas who had to give up the dream. And only one Misty Copeland. And she is actually, I would say she's probably the second most famous ballerina right now. Yeah, but not for her dancing. No, she could start dancing on Instagram if she wanted to. And we would love that. She sometimes does. If she was like doing twirls around the farm. She does. She could literally do whatever she wants.

13:06Jackie Oshry:The world's a stage. She literally has a stage like on her compound. And on her Instagram. If we had a compound, we would obviously have like multiple dwellings, right? Our main home. We would have, of course, a state-of-the-art podcast studio. I would like maybe like a recording studio like for music. Of course, we'd have a garden. Like what other dwellings would we have? She has a ballet studio. Right. Right. So there she is. Right. Living her dream. What dwellings would you wish for on our compound? I feel like you'd need like a crafts room where you could just like do all your. Like Craig has.

13:43Jackie Oshry:We would need a test kitchen, of course, for Ben.

13:46Claudia Oshry:Oh, yeah. We need a studio kitchen for Ben. You know, people have like a gift wrapping room. Oh, we need a game room. Yeah, like a ribbon. Oh, we need a game mansion. Like I need multiple rooms. Yeah, we need a game house, and then one room in that house is for Maj. Right. Because I don't want people with their other games. Get out of here. Smelly old games. Back heaven. But yeah, people have gift wrapping rooms in their house. How many gifts are you wrapping?

14:14Jackie Oshry:Yeah, I know. And I'm not a huge gift giver when I am. It's like, I'm not wrapping it either. Unless you're going to kids' parties. Kids' parties, I feel like you have to wrap.

14:23Claudia Oshry:Yeah, you do. But it's like, let's kids party gifts. It's like everyone just ran out to CVS and bought someone a piece of crap. And it's like, I didn't need, I don't need it.

14:33Jackie Oshry:I do feel like kids parties, like also you save all the gifts. And then you give them to other people.

14:38Claudia Oshry:Like when someone doesn't give me a gift for a kids party, I don't know. I don't, I don't notice it. Like it doesn't bother me. And I hope that I'm extended that same grace, like karmically. If I ever arrived to a party and I, and I didn't bring a gift.

14:51Jackie Oshry:I think that in my future, I will be doing gift lists. Like, please don't bring gifts.

14:56Claudia Oshry:I went to a party recently and on the invitation, it said, please don't bring gifts.

15:00Jackie Oshry:Just what I need, more crap in my house. And I was like, that is such a sleigh. In lieu of gifts, please make a donation to the Mark Shenwinter Holocaust Education Foundation.

15:07Claudia Oshry:In lieu of gifts, just show up and have a good time. Yeah, have a bagel. Like, we didn't need like a$20 piece of junk from Target.

15:13Jackie Oshry:I agree. I agree. No, my birthday parties for me and all my children will be like gift lists. Gift free. And not because I'm like, you know, waste management queen. I don't want crap in my house. My garage. Like, it's just so much stuff. Yeah, I do not want that.

15:27Claudia Oshry:But then, you know, you need a little something special. You go to the trove. You got a trove. Well, you can have a trove. I have a trove right now. A trove away vote. A trove. But yeah, like, give yourself grace. If you showed up to the kids party without a gift, like, I don't think anyone's remembering that. I'm certainly not.

15:43Jackie Oshry:I do think we should dive in. We have so much to cover.

We have some very exciting news because if you're a regular listener, you know we talk about Roback all the time. We really love their stuff and we're big fans of the brand.

18:52Jackie Oshry:They've been sponsoring our show for a while. So everyone knows the Princess Diana photo where she's wearing the Machenek and the Biker shorts. Roback has just recreated that for the modern woman in pargy styles, in pargy colors, in pargy materials. So they're a mock neck. It's called the Bedford Mock Neck. It's back in stock. Mock Necks are having a huge moment right now, and I do feel like Roback's is one of the best ones. It is a very cute embroidery. It comes in two colors, navy and ivory. The last time it dropped, it sold out in under a week. So if you've been waiting for it to come back or you couldn't get it last time, highly recommend heading to Roback now to get it.

19:19Jackie Oshry:They also just launched biker short sets for the first time, coming in classic colors like black and navy. Plus, they also launched a blue. It's a very pretty blue. It's called Bunker Blue. Bunker Blue, excuse me. The sets are incredibly comfortable. They're super flattering. And when you pair it with the Mach-N-E-K, you'll literally transform into like a cool girl. You know, if you just want to be cool, head to Robac. Use our code TOAST at Robac.com for a generous 20 % off your first order through the end of this week. Robac is spelled R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com. Through the end of this week, if you place an order, you will get 20 % off your first order only when you use code TOAST.

19:50Jackie Oshry:The products that I mentioned are the Bedford Mach-N-E-K, which I would highly recommend. And then if you don't have the right thing to pair it with, or you're just like in the market for new Biker Shorts sets, check out the new Biker Shorts. Making Biker Shorts is an art. You know, you want to feel compressed. You want to feel smooth. But you don't want to feel constricted. And I really like the ones from Roback. So Roback, R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com. Code Toast, T-O-A-S-T, for 20 % off your first order through the end of this week.

20:12Claudia Oshry:Thank you, Turt. You're welcome. Our first story is some major biz news and ongoing story as a major development. I forgot about this story. I just want to say we were talking about it every day for a week. as Netflix backs out of the Warner Brothers bidding and Paramount is set to win the bid. So in a stunning twist, Netflix's CEO says the major studio was always nice to have at the right price, not a must have at any price as Paramount continues to increase their bid. It went into the hundreds of billions of dollars and Netflix has officially bowed out, which leaves Paramount the last man standing to acquire Warner Brothers Discovery Co.

20:49Jackie Oshry:HBO. it was like so an underdog right I feel like when we were talking about it like the deal was already moving forward I feel like these are the types of deals that have to be like approved by the government so they were moving forward and Paramount was like out an email to their subscribers yeah I got an email from Netflix being like welcome HBO that was they really got ahead of themselves and based on what I had read like the Paramount deal financially like was better from the very beginning so I wasn't sure why they didn't get it and then it was like back and forth for like a week or two and then i never heard so i actually thought about it the other day i'm like oh i guess like they just got it we never got sort of like a summation of the whole thing and i guess the streaming wars are like very much back on yeah because now they're like a conglomerate in the making paramount they have mtv cbs vh1 now they have hbo um viacom yeah um so i guess we're back hbo discovery discovery discovery plus bringing back discovery plus oh you know discovery plus is very much alive and well.

21:45Jackie Oshry:Every time we talk about the streaming wars, we're like, and then remember Discovery Plus? They literally keep leaving comments on our Instagram being like, hey, we're still here. I'm like, oh, okay. Bring it back, you guys. We miss you. Well, I guess they're now going to be folded

21:55Claudia Oshry:into Paramount Plus. And HBO will be folded into Paramount Plus. I feel like they need a new name to like, they need just a - Fresh. A fresh name that's not tied to like any one of these players.

22:06Jackie Oshry:And I'm feeling like, I don't know when the last time I renewed my Paramount Plus. It was probably for Yellowstone. Yeah. And I have a feeling I'm going to need that again. Because a lot of my HBO shows. Yeah. Seems like they might be there. Or they're going to keep them separate. I have no idea. I think one. HBO Max just like can't go through another app. Like we're on our fourth app.

22:26Claudia Oshry:Yeah.

22:27Jackie Oshry:But I think they are about to go through another one. And it has to be their final destination.

22:30Claudia Oshry:Listen, they're struggling with their identity. And you have to give them space. It's true. It's true. To understand who they are. Right. And what they are. But now they've just been adopted by Paramount. So maybe they don't have to make these hard decisions anymore. Because they obviously couldn't handle it. well congrats I feel like this is a true underdog story it is but it's also like the richest company like the one willing to pay the big bucks the money was green and also at a certain point I guess like HBO wanted to Warner Brothers wanted to go with like Netflix they're like a little swankier than Paramount of course like the Netflix family but at a certain point they can't not take the most money deal because like for their shareholders it's like well the money is

23:09Jackie Oshry:green we're here to make money When you're a publicly traded company, you legally have to take the best financial offer. So that's why it got so dicey. And then became hostile at one point. Yes, hostile takeover. There was hostility. So like for Netflix, like yeah, it would have been nice to have all these HBO shows. But Netflix is so far above all the other streamers in terms of subscribers. I think they're like crawling towards 300 million users and everybody else is like barely has 100 million. So for them, like yes, it would have been nice. They didn't need to pay an insane price for it. And that's what the CEO is saying.

23:35Jackie Oshry:And he's right for that. Whereas Paramount, like they were very much like on the precipice of dropping out of the streaming wars. I don't know anybody who actively watches Paramount+.

23:43Claudia Oshry:Now it's game on.

23:44Jackie Oshry:Now it's game on.

23:45Claudia Oshry:I like another big, you know, this is great for the consumer, I feel. Everybody's trying to be better and hopefully have better content. Lower prices.

23:55Jackie Oshry:And impress me. Lower prices. What on T? If Netflix had gotten HBO, they could have raised their price and literally nobody could have done anything about it. Yeah, that's true. So I feel like now there's three biggies, right? Netflix, which has everything. Hulu, Disney, ABC, ESPN. They're pretty good. And Paramount and HBO now. Warner Brothers, whatever you want to call it.

24:16Claudia Oshry:Yeah, I feel like we're forgetting. Peacock is somewhere in the world.

24:20Jackie Oshry:Peacock actually is like somewhere in the world. They do a pretty good job. And like YouTube TV. That's cable. That's old. It's not cable. But they don't create original content on YouTube TV. They're just like streaming all the shit you can find on Netflix and everything. Okay, but like it's doing something. Yeah, I don't know where YouTube TV lives. I can't think like that.

24:38Claudia Oshry:I don't know. I really don't know. It's not cable. It feels like cable. It's like digital cable. Yeah. I don't know. Everyone at a certain point, they all need to get together. And the way that we're living right now is not sustainable. And, you know, eventually I think they'll all come together and have channels. Like a TV. Cable. Yeah. But, yeah, the bifurcation of our nation. Of media is actually crazy. The way we live going from app to app and getting, like, logged out in the different households. Like one day our ancestors will look back and be like, I can't believe they had to do that. Our descendants will really feel sorry for us.

25:12Claudia Oshry:The way that we lived like cavemen. It's so true. It's the way we feel about the cavemen.

25:16Jackie Oshry:It's insane what we do. It's insane.

25:19Claudia Oshry:Like I can't watch the next season of JFK because the next episode. Why? Because I'm locked out because of my household. It also hasn't come out yet. Or it came out like midday last night. I'm still waiting. Like I'm one behind. Oh. I just like, I still have to watch them. Oh, you still have one more episode? Oh, I'm cracking up. Now you're going to have to. Maybe I'll watch it next year. Okay. No, I guess I'll put down roots at Hulu. But I just hate to give them exactly what they asked for. Yeah, I hate when they're like tactics work. Bad behavior is rewarded. Totally. Anyways, that's the latest biz news.

25:51Claudia Oshry:Congrats to all of the people involved.

25:54Jackie Oshry:I'm excited for us because we do then get to continue reporting on the saga of HBO. HBO. HBO Go. HBO Now. HBO Max. Max. HBO Max. Paramount? Question mark? Like, I'm excited. Yeah.

26:08Claudia Oshry:Yeah. It's great stuff. Great stuff. Are you ready for our next story? Some odd news. Pink is making news as she denies her breakup from her husband in a new video. So Pink hopped on to say, she made a video on Instagram saying, I was just alerted to the fact that I'm separated from my husband.

26:26Jackie Oshry:Well, there was like a Us Weekly reported that she was getting separated. And then like an hour later, she releases it.

26:30Claudia Oshry:She said, I didn't know. She said her children were also unaware about the split. But she said, would you also like to tell our children before saying that there's real news to be discussed?

26:40Jackie Oshry:I love when celebrities bring up the real news. Like, I like that she tackled this rumor head on. They're not getting separated. You feel that? Yeah. She said this is fake news. Yeah, she did say. She did say. It was a weird response, especially because she doesn't really respond. Like, she's not that type of celebrity. It's just like such a trope of like, why do you report on real news? Right. It's like, well, we do. And we also want to report on this. Like, it's okay.

27:03Claudia Oshry:It's Us Weekly. like they're not gonna report on you. You want them to go in on the Epstein bios? Like, please. And there are, like, it's the internet, so there's unlimited capacity for articles they could write about both things.

27:13Jackie Oshry:It's just like, it's almost like a stereotype. It is. Like, woke woman celebrity being like, why don't you report on the real news? It's like, well, we can hold space for both.

27:21Claudia Oshry:Yeah, and it's Us Weekly, so. Well, she's not getting separated.

27:24Jackie Oshry:I think that's cause for celebrity.

27:25Claudia Oshry:That is good news. And she also said, do you want to maybe talk about the fact that I got nominated the first year I was eligible for the Rock and Roll Motherfucking Hall of Fame? Do you want to talk about my accomplishments? We did. We spoke about them yesterday. And I just want to say, like, we did. We did. And we want to.

27:38Jackie Oshry:And I didn't realize it was the first time you were eligible. Like, slay mama slay. No one's more deserving.

27:42Claudia Oshry:And again, like, they could talk about that and, like, this rumor. But also, like, don't post, like, to us weekly, this isn't true, so why'd you say it? Where'd you get that from?

27:50Jackie Oshry:This happens a lot. This happens actually not a lot, but somewhat frequently, where, like, a thing is widely reported as confirmed, and it's just not. And I feel like, isn't that the whole point of journalism?

28:01Claudia Oshry:like yeah so that's why I'm like well why'd you say it and I just need to understand like where'd you hear that not to say that it's true but like journalistic integrity you need to now like take it back issue a correction yeah I bet there's an update at the bottom of this article it's like

28:16Jackie Oshry:pink is getting separated this whole article about her and her man are getting separated at the very bottom it says update as of Thursday at 6 p.m. pink says she's not separated it's like okay well

28:25Claudia Oshry:thanks for the article yeah i i like want to see if they have mentioned it it's like awkward yeah it is like that's not cool no it's not um so yeah pink and carrie are going strong tj

28:42Jackie Oshry:like forget about them they're a strong couple yeah you see jim carrie no he made an appearance at like an event in europe i mean you know jim carrie doesn't really make appearances and he has a new face like a completely new face and people are freaking out about it because they're like convinced it's like kind of Avril Lavigne and Melissa you know they think it's not him it's not him it it actually like almost looks nothing like him it's insane if it weren't for his like like really remarkable smile at every other part of him he has long hair if you're looking for it he's like on a red carpet you see I think so I just gave my dad to friends 24 in order to

29:21Claudia Oshry:photo and you can't even see it i see one photo like i do but it is jim carrey to me no it's like hello magazine is that's not it that's not it okay that's him on the stage let me see like this is the night that you're talking about the night of night yeah yeah yeah yeah um he looks and like

29:39Jackie Oshry:a video like where you could see his face moving like did he get a facelift or was he abducted by aliens like people are freaking conspiracy theorists are running wild with this okay everyone

29:48Claudia Oshry:Like keep it in your pants Like just Like he just went to Steve Levine But I don't even think he had a facelift He doesn't look like he has a younger He looks hella different No he doesn't look younger that's true Right like he just looks different It's just insane that like Jim He looks so different I'm sorry like Jim Carrey did not get a facelift He would never But Jim Carrey did something I don't think this is about like cosmetics What do you think he's like sick Like it's something else

30:16Jackie Oshry:Okay well now I'll just shut up

30:18Claudia Oshry:yeah like everyone loves to do that i don't talk about people's faces changing i don't no she doesn't talk about it on camera no i really don't i'm kidding you don't unless unless it's really changed but like i don't know i just like i don't care okay like do whatever you want you're being like so pink right now like you're so holier now yeah you are saying let's talk about like the famine i'm just saying the famine i'm not saying it's because like there's other things i'm just like because it's actually worse than that your personal interest level it's fucking care like do what you it's your face you have one do whatever you want with it like it's crazy when a man does it i guess i actually wouldn't know it's not crazy when a man does it it's just you everyone feels like they can say something when a man does it you finally can like let it out of their pants because yeah when a woman does it it's true it's true they get all excited we could talk about it look at me i'm excited you're titillated yeah so so i guess you didn't choose that as a story cool no i know new faces are like rarely unless it's like a for the positive you know like like Steve Levine going on like a world tour because like he's done fantastic things he has done fantastic things are you ready for our next story funny story Rihanna's teasing new music in the studio oh girl get out of here she posted a video of her in this

31:32Jackie Oshry:like you don't care about people's new faces I don't care about stories like this like because I refuse to get bamboozled I refuse to look stupid speaking of new music though Brut-Dude

31:42Claudia Oshry:put out his new album today. Oh, did he? I have to check it out. It's so good. Bruno Mars is incapable of releasing music. That's bad. And he's just like in the studio, like, Beep-ba-ba-dapping. Letting it rip. Like the songs, I don't even know if they follow like typical song structure of like chorus verse. It's just like Bruno riffing.

32:00Jackie Oshry:I don't feel like he's actually in the studio. I feel like he's in the casino basement riffing. Yeah, from his cell. Yeah, and that's why the music is so good because he's, you know, motivated. Yeah, he's singing for his proper. His freedom depends on it, you know?

32:12Claudia Oshry:Yeah, it's really good The beats, and that's the music I've been craving recently Is like soulful, I would say Like soulful, like Teddy Swims Like, ooh, I just discovered Funeral by 20 Have my funeral Me driving So yeah, Bruno did it again But Rihanna But Rihanna, just, you know, she's teasing that she's in the studio But like she's probably singing a song for a new animated movie She was probably like picking up A$AP Rocky

32:40Jackie Oshry:No, she's probably doing one song for like an animated movie. She's like. And we have this conversation annually. I hate to repeat myself, but like I'm not waiting for Riri 9. Is that what it is? I actually. I'm just not.

32:50Claudia Oshry:I don't think it's ever coming. And at this point, I don't think that it can because nothing that she puts out. Well, like because of the anticipation. Could reach the hype.

32:57Jackie Oshry:It's true. She's almost in like a terrible position.

33:00Claudia Oshry:But an amazing one because she's a mother of three and she loves her life. And a billionaire. And she has like love and family. Yeah. And. The things that really matter. And she's like laughing at everyone who like, she probably literally rented a studio so she could take a picture and just bother people.

33:17Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I'm not waiting. So I just want to say I'm okay. Yeah. And I will be okay.

33:22Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I will be okay as well. I'm no longer waiting. And I, you know, you can listen to the hits. Four, five seconds from Wiley. That's literally one of the best songs ever. I actually feel like the most we would get from her right now is like a collab. Like she loves to be a feature on a song. Low lift. And maybe if someone else came to her with like an amazing song, like she would lend her voice. But she's not going to put herself out there like that. Who would? In this climate, if you don't have to. Like to do a whole album. Like everyone is so mean. So true. And they'll start talking about your face and like it's just never ending.

33:56Claudia Oshry:You know, like I feel like Lady Gaga always puts like every album is just like a piece of her soul on the table. And then everyone's like, this is bad.

34:04Jackie Oshry:It must be so, for someone like Lady Gaga, like emotionally taxing. Because, yeah, she is her art. Her art is her. Like she is Gaga. Gaga is Stephanie. Like it's so ingrained in who she is. And I feel like there is always like a lot of hype. And all of her albums are successes. But not in like the, you know, culture shattering type of way. And it must be like devastating to like constantly be going through that. And just for people to be like, I don't like it as much as dance, dance, just dance. It's like, okay.

34:33Claudia Oshry:And I just feel like she's never emotionally recovered from Art Pop.

34:37Jackie Oshry:Oh, that's funny.

34:37Claudia Oshry:I don't feel like she's ever emotionally recovered from Joanne. I feel like an Art Pop wasn't even bad. It was just like nothing could really follow up fame on Sarah. Oh, yeah. Oh, and I guess Born This Way followed up. But like Art Pop just didn't do what she wanted it to do. And I feel like that feeling has just like clouded. It's sort of like Taylor and Rep. Yeah, but Reputation was received very well. But it didn't get nominated in the way that she wanted it to.

35:02Jackie Oshry:Well, so how are we measuring success? Because like Taylor, up until that point, Reputation like was her most sold album. So it didn't have the Grammy recognition. But I think culturally, like it freed her from the prison she like her and Kanye put themselves in. I think Joanne was that for Lady Gaga. Because up until that point, she was always like, you know, extravagant meat. And it's like, you don't know the real me. And then she was like, here's the real me. Here's a song about my aunt, you know. And nobody cared. Like when I tell you, nobody moved.

35:30Claudia Oshry:I feel like she was hardened by art pop, which was meant to be like the next major pop album. And it wasn't. And then when she put out Joanne, she was in a place of like, I'm making music that I love. I don't care what people think. She wasn't waiting for like everyone to, you know, appreciate Joanne for what it was, but people are discussing. And so, of course, they did. Nobody appreciated Joanne for what it was. It was amazing.

35:53Jackie Oshry:Amazing. I need to add that to like my rotation of albums.

35:56Claudia Oshry:I love this show. Well, because it's amazing. Yeah. But also because every day I'm inspired to listen to something on my way home. Like last week it was, or earlier this week was Hannah Montana. And my favorite song that I forgot to share in addition to like my other favorite songs is Bigger Than Us. Sing it. We all want to believe in love. We all want to believe in something bigger than just us. So good. What a message. Chilling. like chills chills chills are you ready for our next story our fourth story and then fifth story is traitors yes i'm ready our fourth story is that lana del rey's ex-fiance is revealed as a contestant in taylor frankie paul's upcoming season of the bachelorette so i was wrong when i said there are no familiar faces here you weren't wrong because he's still not familiar but lana del rey's ex-man is going on taylor frankie paul's season of the bachelorette which Do you have a picture?

36:56Claudia Oshry:Yeah. This was his picture. I don't think he, like, was a standout. But I just remember the name Clayton when you said it.

37:03Jackie Oshry:Oh, yeah, I remember that red shirt.

37:03Claudia Oshry:Because Clayton is just, like, such a bachelor contestant. I don't think anybody, it's kind of like your birthright.

37:10Jackie Oshry:If you're born with the name Clayton, you have to go on The Bachelor. Yeah, and he was previously engaged to Lana. Much like Cynthia Erivo, I didn't know any of this was happening. Like, I don't follow Lana Del Rey. Yeah. And I'm barely keeping up with The Bachelor. So I didn't know. He's a musician. He was in a band called The Johnsons. I just feel like this whole, like, this is such a red flag. Like, if I'm Taylor Frankie Paul and I find this out, like, I'm literally. Oh, you don't think it gives him clout? No, I think he's, like, obsessed with dating successful women.

37:36Claudia Oshry:Oh, I feel like. Not in a good way. Like. No, I feel like it gives him clout. Like, that's not just like, oh, he's, you know, a thirst monster. Lana Del Rey.

37:45Jackie Oshry:But if he had actual clout, he wouldn't be going on The Bachelor. Do you know what I mean?

37:48Claudia Oshry:Lana Del Rey. Like, that's major. Correct. So you don't need. And like if she liked him, like that's a, that's, you know, a feather in his cap.

37:56Jackie Oshry:Oh, I'm seeing this from a totally different angle. I'm like, this is weird. And if I find this out, I'm literally sending him home that night.

38:01Claudia Oshry:No, I'm sorry. It's like chasing fame. No, but it's like you're, the way you're describing him, I understand how you're describing it. It's like Max Ehrlich.

38:10Jackie Oshry:Of course, Max Ehrlich. Yeah, of course. Like if he went on The Bachelor, I would feel exactly how you feel. Thank you for making the most perfect comparison. This is Max Ehrlich going on The Bachelor.

38:22Claudia Oshry:But I don't see it that way. I don't see it that way. I don't know why. The arc of Demetria Lovato's career and personal life is one of the craziest in modern times.

38:36Jackie Oshry:I forgot about the Engaged on the Beach Max Ehrlich era. Yeah. I wonder how she thinks about that because she's like very happily married now and like super stable.

38:47Claudia Oshry:I feel like she's like so grateful that she like her eyes were open before it was too late. Yeah. Right. I have to imagine. I don't know anything about this situation, but like the vibes were that like he was like a, I mean, maybe his sister's like a toaster or something. Oh, please. I don't know why I had such a negative perception of him as like a usurious grifter. I don't know why, but that's what, that's the lasting feeling I was left with.

39:19Claudia Oshry:those were good times i agree like for us i don't think for demi yeah no no no but it all is part of her story and led her to where she is now which is a happy married woman lovato later shared in her

39:33Jackie Oshry:documentary dancing with the devil that the split was the best thing for her okay leading to a journey of self-exploration and realization everyone says oh i'm sorry and this was like uh because i don't know if she still feels this way leading her to a journey of self-exploration and realizing that she felt too queer to marry a man but she did marry a man now and she's like very happily married so i feel like yeah demie lavado was the queen of like making documentaries before she like finished her thought her growing up like she has four documentaries where it's like i'm a and then addicted to being like i didn't know who i was in that documentary i'm actually no and she'll be like i was in all aspects of her life like sexuality love but personality and addiction addiction yeah she right she's california sober talking about how her recovery and then her next

40:14Claudia Oshry:documentary she was telling us what she was doing in the previous documentary right and how she

40:18Jackie Oshry:wasn't recovered and you shouldn't watch that documentary because she was like you know that one is null and void yeah she that's where you know our celebrity documentary conversation and

40:26Claudia Oshry:i have like so much grace for someone on their journey but like don't feel pressured to put out a documentary like summing up the experience when like the experience is ongoing yeah yeah you know

40:36Jackie Oshry:agreed but you know that watching celebrity documentaries like i need netflix to come out with a category, how you have like, you know, binge watched Emmy award winning celebrity documentaries and put them in order of greatness. There's actually a lot of good things coming to Netflix. There are. Yes. You know, the SAG Awards have been rebranded to the Actor Awards and streaming exclusively on Netflix. That's so exciting. Very like dramatic. So I love a rebrand. You guys know. And the SAG Awards have evolved and transformed into the Actor Awards, which definitely feels like it's like a glow up.

41:06Jackie Oshry:It's much more highbrow. And then they did that like very, for the last couple of years, that very funny segment at the beginning of the awards, but they were like, I am an actor. So it's been this like very thoughtful rebrand, which I appreciate. And this year, they're on Netflix. The Actor Awards are presented by who, Jackie? Sagastra? Sagastra. This is everything we love. They're live on Netflix this Sunday and they have a red carpet for the first time ever. So the theme is totally reimagining like old Hollywood glamour from the 20s and 30s. So I feel like everyone's really going to be showing up.

41:38Jackie Oshry:We love when people just like get dressed nicely.

41:41Claudia Oshry:No, and when the theme is understandable. So true.

41:46Jackie Oshry:Executionable. This is like such an easy theme. And I feel like we're going to be seeing like a lot of soft waves, a lot of side parts, very vintage. It's like the Met Gala of the West Coast. West Coast Met Gala. There's a red carpet hosted by Scott Evans and Paige DeSorbo. It's going to be a really fun way to kick off the whole live event. And then lots to unpack in terms of the actual show. Host. So hard to choose a host, right? Because you want somebody who's very affable, who people in the audience, you know, like they have personal good relationships with the fellow actors. And we have Kristen Bell.

42:13Jackie Oshry:I feel like everybody loves Kristen Bell. Inspired choice. She has that iconic gossip girl voice. So I just think everyone's always excited to hear her talk. She does like really good voice stuff. And I think people in Hollywood, like on a personal level, actually really like her and her husband. And I think they get along well and have good relationships with each other. And audiences love her. It's true. She has a high Q score.

42:32Claudia Oshry:She has a very high Q score.

42:34Jackie Oshry:So this award show is known for its iconic moments. like cast reunion, surprise group appearances. Like they did the iconic Devil Wears Prada reunion. Very emotional speeches. I feel like people in the industry really respect getting an actor award. It's like from your peers. And of all the award shows, I feel like, I also like that they're calling it the actor awards because like the statue itself is called the actor. So like other award shows are named after the actual statue.

42:55Claudia Oshry:And I feel like the SAGs like didn't really stand a chance. No. But the actor awards presented by SAG AFTRA really sums up what we're here to do.

43:02Jackie Oshry:I completely agree. And I think that people in the industry like take it so seriously. I think it means a lot to them, like more so than other awards. So I feel like they've kind of been like a misunderstood award show. Do you know what I mean? I can relate. Yeah, right. This year they are doing a lifetime achievement to somebody who starred in one of our, like one of the most impactful movies of our life. It's Harrison Ford. And I know you're going to say you guys love Indiana Jones. No, actually Harrison Ford inspired this show right here. It's true. He starred in like a very small but important film called Morning Glory.

43:35Jackie Oshry:and yeah, he should get a Lifetime Achievement Award for that alone. I named my son after him. So true. That's really cute. I love your Harrison Ford. Netflix has a bingo card and a ballot if you go to ta-dum.com, which is great because then it makes like the viewing experience very interactive and fun. And I feel like I, at this stage of my life, I'm always looking for events we can all watch together. To be a part of. To be a part of. And the fact that this is on Netflix, so fun, so easy. I love the theme. I feel like I'm going to make popcorn. You know, that's like so Hollywood. What are you going to put in your popcorn?

44:04Jackie Oshry:You know I love a party mix popcorn. I know. When I make popcorn at home, I really keep it simple. Like salt. Like I actually just like the microwave one. If I'm going to the theater, like you know I'm throwing M &Ms in there. I'm going heavy on the salt. It's different.

44:17Claudia Oshry:When I make it at home, that's when I get crazy because I can use like my healthier swaps. So I feel better. Oh, God. Yeah.

44:22Jackie Oshry:Like my unreals and my cheddar bunnies. Actors are voting on actors. There's fashion with intention. And we have Kristen Bell hosting. So this is not a drill. It's really the most fun award show of the season. And it's something new. I feel like we're always begging the streamers and Hollywood to give us new. And this is new. And we need to support it. Okay? So it's streaming live only on Netflix. I also love when we were talking about the streaming awards. Netflix is kind of crushing live. They do a lot of sports and comedy and now award shows, which I love. So the Actor Awards are presented by SEGAFTRA.

44:50Jackie Oshry:And they're hosted by Kristen Bell. Live only on Netflix this Sunday, March 1st at 8 p.m. Eastern time. So get seated. Maybe you should get dressed up. We're always looking for an excuse to get dressed up. Like an old Hollywood glam. I'll do a side part. You know, I did actually a side part, very old Hollywood glam at your wedding. You did. Maybe I should recreate that hair. You should have gone to the Actor Award. And I wore like a emerald green off the shoulder gown. I'm literally like Brigitte Bardot. I'm excited to see how the stars interpret the theme. Me too. And there's a lot of pressure because this is an easy theme.

45:19Jackie Oshry:Like sometimes when the theme is confusing, I'll give grace. I will not be giving grace.

45:23Claudia Oshry:No, no, no.

45:24Jackie Oshry:We're going to be seated. We're going to be judging outfits and we are filling out our ballot like it's our civic duty. So do not miss the most fun award show of the season. The Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA hosted by Kristen Bell, live only on Netflix. It's this Sunday, March 1st at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, 5 p.m. Pacific. Just as for everybody who gets to watch award shows on Pacific Time.

45:41Claudia Oshry:Oh, yeah.

45:42Jackie Oshry:Because they're done at 9 o 'clock and you can like watch something else or like have dinner. That's when the only time I ever wish I lived on the West Coast.

45:48Claudia Oshry:And those actor awards are presented to you by SAG-AFTRA. Correct. In case you didn't. And in case you were wondering, it's SAG-AFTRA

45:54Jackie Oshry:because that was a paid partnership. SAG-AFTRA.

45:57Claudia Oshry:I love you.

45:58Jackie Oshry:Fifth and final, Traders Recap.

46:00Claudia Oshry:Fifth and final Traitors recap. Oh my goodness gracious. Okay, so spoilers here on Forward. Rob won the Traitors in an insane way. The whole game came down to Maura. From the first roundtable of last night's episode, if she had voted with Tara and Johnny, even to get out Eric, then Tara and Johnny could have gotten out Rob. I am feeling so conflicted because like,

46:26Jackie Oshry:I was so getting so mad at Maura. Like all she had to do was make one decent decision for the last like three episodes. There were so many pivotal moments where a decision of hers could have changed the whole game. And time after time, she just kept disappointing me till the very fucking end. And you know what? Shout out to Tara and Johnny for the first time in the final episode, actually having a good idea and just trying to get her to go for Eric. Yeah. She couldn't even do that.

46:51Claudia Oshry:And it's like she knew Eric was a traitor. There was no doubt in her mind that Eric was a traitor, but she didn't think Rob was one. She didn't think Tara was one. and Tara wasn't she was unsure about Johnny not confirmed but anyone would have known that Eric was a traitor he was the only one who was like you know behaving oddly yep and he wouldn't have made it that far if he was a faithful because he just would have been like a random kill so at the first round table banish the person that you know is a traitor that seems like an easy one and then let's deal with something else I can understand why at the end she couldn't pivot from trusting Rob it's like when you're playing mahjong and you're going with the hand the whole time and it's like at the end you realize you might not win that hand but it's too late to

47:25Jackie Oshry:switch yeah you have to rethink everything that you know of course but there was like three votes before that where she could have just made a better decision and I wanted to shake her and I was like so excited for Rob to tell her that he was a traitor because I'm like yeah you deserve it and when I tell you I felt the total opposite it was kind of devastating to watch like it was heartbreaking they also cut the music like they you could hear a pin drop she like I actually felt you saw like the light go out of her eyes and I felt like in that moment I felt like this show was like a mean prank.

47:56Jackie Oshry:Like it was, it was just devastating. Like, and I also like, and even at the reunion, she just kept saying, I'm so dumb, I'm so dumb, I'm so dumb. Like, and you can't even fault Rob, right? Cause nobody did anything wrong, right? You get selected as a traitor. And it just makes you feel like, what's the point of the show? Yes, that's exactly how I felt.

48:15Claudia Oshry:Like someone to be the best liar. I guess when the faithfuls win, it feels really good. But like when a traitor turns on the person that they were closest with, It's like, oh, cool. You just like gave someone trust issues for the rest of their life. Congrats.

48:30Jackie Oshry:Yeah. And I guess it would have, it was meaner for Rob to have also banished Eric because then Maura really thought that they won. Remember, they were hugging in the kitchen. It's going to be us. It's going to be us. So it was us. So like she thought for sure. I don't like, I guess it was just for the money to banish Eric.

48:46Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And Maura was kind of savage, but I'm glad he turned on Eric because he turned on all his other traders. And like he said, would you give$100 ,000 to someone you met three weeks ago? I wouldn't. I'm like, yeah, he's a hundred.

48:55Jackie Oshry:And I agree. I think it was actually one of the better things he could have done like for his image because this whole time we've been like him being so loyal to this rando after kicking both Lisa and Candace to the curb. It's giving misogyny, but you know what? It's not, it's giving, we're getting down to the wire and I need these votes.

49:08Claudia Oshry:Yes. No, he couldn't have turned on Eric. Like that vote, it became only up to more. Like you need every single person was so critical. He's not going to turn on someone whose vote he needs. That would be bad gameplay. People need to like kind of take their emotions out of it. And like, I don't think there was misogyny.

49:23Jackie Oshry:No, that's why, like, I don't really fault Rob for any decision he made the entire season because it was always with strategy in mind. So you're mad he was a good player. Well, that's your but he did nothing wrong. And that's where, yes, the show felt almost pointless. Like he did what he was supposed to do. And like what the worst thing she did was like trust someone. I mean, I do feel like her time on the show was like so bad for women. Like it was just how easy like a he's cute. He's not Brad Pitt. Like he's very good looking. He's a cute guy. He's very good looking. He's not like insanely tall or insanely rich.

49:59Jackie Oshry:Like he's just a guy. No, I think he's. He's just a guy. Like it's insane how far that got him. Because that was a huge part of it. And I do feel like. And she was so close, right? She kept saying, why am I still here? And they kept referencing that she chooses the wrong man. And she gets cheated on all the time. It's like, put those two things together. together you're trusting a man and you're still here it was right in front of her and I kind of like was living for Tara and Johnny this last episode it's like where was that energy the entire season I do feel like they played horrifically and I really appreciate Candace I know she was saying it at the reunion to like knife Rob because everyone was like Rob you're so great Rob you're so great Candace is like well also you had like some of the worst faithfuls ever you need to go to faithful school and I appreciated that because yes he did play really well but like it's easy to play well with like a bunch of idiots like yeah and that's what Candace

50:50Claudia Oshry:was saying but also it's good he played well enough to keep the idiots around till the end

50:55Jackie Oshry:and dismiss the smart people that challenge um yeah that's what was so crazy about Maura she was the last person standing in the entire show and like that challenge I feel like was really emblematic of her time there she got to go on the helicopter and then because she's like a pretty girl like she didn't have to jump out and like what did she do yeah and the other ones are like

51:17Claudia Oshry:shivering oh man i felt so bad for that the challenges aren't supposed to get that real it's like fear factor stupid it's like special forces he's jumping out of a helicopter that was wild why for what for what but that did really like i think help his case for being a faithful yeah he like worked so hard right yeah yeah it was just the game was lost when at the first round table and if yeah if more had just like gone with the person that she knows is a traitor eric everything else could have like sorted itself out but even then at the take at the fire of truth or whatever that she banished tara first when she knew that tara was not a traitor why didn't they banish eric first i don't know that was really weird that's even weirder like you know that you know that tara is not a traitor you said that multiple times yeah so why would you banish her so i feel so conflicted because like i just wanted to shake maura felt so conflicted and in those moments of complete confliction i don't know just like shit the bed no she's just like i'm gonna do what rob tells me because that's a plan yeah so like i i was so mad at her right

52:26Jackie Oshry:and then all of that just like went away i felt so bad for her at the reunion she just like kept i think she's like so worried that i mean like you see what people on twitter are saying like they're just calling her dumb and stupid like i like i feel so bad for her like the whole birkin thing is funny and whatever i just like i feel like she really regrets during the show like oh I don't think so. I think she has really big aspirations. But did you see that tweet like about like me when I say I'm not dumb and then it's like a pick like everyone's being so mean to her.

52:51Claudia Oshry:No, I think for her, she has big aspirations. All press is good press. She's broken into the American market in a huge way. Yes. She's on every single show doing press with her fashion. She wants to be a fashion girl and she wants to be an actress. I don't think she I mean, yes, it probably hurts to see some of those tweets. But like, I think she's like tunnel vision. like I'm going to be going to the Oscars and you know, she, what she wants to be doing is like acting and probably like modeling and, and we like, she served face. She served looks. She's the most beautiful woman ever. Like I think the exposure for her was worth the embarrassment.

53:26Jackie Oshry:It was so embarrassing. Like I just felt so, it was, it was not fun at the end.

53:31Claudia Oshry:It was actually like devastating. I, when you see her face, like the light, I've never seen emotion displayed. But honestly, make her an actress.

53:39Jackie Oshry:In books, when they say, like, and the light drained from her face, you're like, what the fuck does that mean? Watch more at the final round table.

53:45Claudia Oshry:Oh, my God. I had chills throughout my body. I wanted to start crying. I know. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I felt so awkward. I was like. No, like, it was very emotional. Like, I didn't expect to, like. It was heartbreaking. And you also have to remember, like, we're just watching it as a TV show. But, like, they have been in this, you know. They've been, like, siloed and very isolated. Isolated. You know, maybe they get their phones at the hotel room, but they go and everything is so intense trying to you're there's a liar amongst us and it's like everything that you thought that you knew and like you thought you were winning like the rug pulled out from under you like I think her face just conveyed completely the shock

54:21Jackie Oshry:of that feeling just awful yeah now the reunion I really felt like again I don't wish I watched it right after the finale because the finale was so high stakes right we were having these like intense feelings of you know sadness and betrayal and then the reunion was just like so stupid everyone was like laughing and I mean it is just a game but the show the way it's edited the whole like Scottish castle and the fire it's so dramatic that like I don't know I just felt like I wasted all my time because the reunion was like so jokey and I don't really feel like I got anything out of the reunion because you can't really be mad at someone it's a game yeah but

54:54Claudia Oshry:you know I think there were a lot of loose ends and like people say areas about other people and um and it's fun just to see everyone again and see like some of the people that we missed um And having them like back on our screens and, you know, all the drama between the traitors. Like and seeing Donna when they brought out the traitors, I'm like, why are there five people? There's three traitors. It's Eric. It's Rob. No, it's Rob, Candace and Lisa. So then like Donna being there was funny. And of course, I can't ask her about Taylor. And, you know, she wanted to die. I know her face fell. It did.

55:22Claudia Oshry:And she was like looking to the left and the right. Like she gave her best sort of answer.

55:26Jackie Oshry:And I don't think her face fell because like she wants like I think sometimes she doesn't want to say the wrong thing. I think because it was like can it just be about me for three seconds oh I felt the complete

55:35Claudia Oshry:opposite not that it's like I it's not that I don't want to talk about the thing it's just like you don't want to say the wrong thing like why can't like no I thought it was the opposite

55:44Jackie Oshry:um but then Colton v Lisa Rinna so that I wanted to wait around to see that and then I did turn it off maybe like five or ten minutes later um I feel like Lisa took internet stuff and sort of ran with it but it was the first time we've ever had to like hear Colton talk about that time with Cassie so I really appreciate Lisa doing that. He said like words and then he also similarly echoed those words. He was interviewed in Vanity Fair. I was just reading that. Which is so crazy. And the I didn't finish get through it but the author was word fucking salad like I don't even he said he's speaking so generally it was a bad time in his life very similar to what he said on the reunion like no real substance.

56:26Jackie Oshry:The author was clearly very

56:27Claudia Oshry:sympathetic towards him. even before, you know, his answers or everything like this was meant to sort of be a redemption.

56:38Claudia Oshry:I don't know. When he was in the reunion last night.

56:41Jackie Oshry:Did you see him sulking afterwards? Like after that conversation with Lisa, he was literally like a kid who had had a tantrum. Like he was sitting on the couch, shoulders slumped. He didn't really speak anymore and eyes like diverted. He was so mad.

56:52Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but I felt like he did as good of a job as he could have at defending himself. Like, cause he's just been like totally dragged through the mud. Like his name. But he won't say it.

57:01Jackie Oshry:Like even in the Vanity Fair article, he's like, and he said it last night, it must be confusing for people who like saw me on the bachelor in 2019. And then now to, you know, six years later seeing me here. Well, why don't you talk about what happened in between? That's not why we're confused. We know you're gay. Nobody cares. Like, yeah, he's just being so vague.

57:16Claudia Oshry:Yeah, he is. And what also bothers me is like, and he said in this article that he had an agreement with Peacock that they wouldn't, no one would bring up this stuff. and like this definitely like obviously made audience members the entire time just like very like uncomfortable and it's like the elephant in the room and it's i just like can't help but think about sierra like how she was booted from love island oh my god i'm cracking up yeah i mean like when like like and they elected to put him on the show yeah so no like knowing i don't think

57:44Jackie Oshry:that they thought people really cared that much and it's like sort of in this random but that's

57:49Claudia Oshry:why it's just like so phony like it's like what sierra did versus like what colt where sierra like said the wrong thing and like felt and apologized online immediately at the time and it's also just like younger and then nobody and they just completely threw her under the bus for the sake of the audience but they'll like stand up and knowingly go in with colton be like we're not going to talk about thing even though we know you did the fucking thing yeah no giving him that

58:10Jackie Oshry:sort of assurance that it's not going to be brought up like who gets that sort of protection

58:15Claudia Oshry:put out that statement about bullying for him that's weird and i'm just like what about sierra so true like that bothers me just like be consistent yeah if we're not having people who have messed up with scandals who have scandals who have things that the audience is going to sort of like hang on to if you don't want any of that then then be consistent with that that's fine yeah but like protecting colton and giving putting him on the show in the first mind

58:38Jackie Oshry:you what colton did did i'm sorry is 10 times worse than what sierra did yeah i understand he

58:42Claudia Oshry:was going through a hard time and but are we giving grace or are we not giving grace yeah And then putting out a statement, the way the internet came for Sierra.

58:50Jackie Oshry:Jackie, just think about it in the context of this season of traitors. The way the internet, the Cut Magazine wrote an article of Michael Rappaport is ruining traitors. Michael Rappaport is not a criminal. He's just fucking annoying. And now he or he is being profiled in Vanity Fair as some sort of victim. It's absurd the sort of grace being given to him by Peacock, by Vanity Fair. Who gets interviewed by Vanity Fair? Who is he, Ronan Farrow? It's insane.

59:15Claudia Oshry:Yeah, this is what the author wrote. Throughout our conversation, he addresses some of this in a contrite and careful manner, tripping over words and phrases in a genuine attempt not to make another misstep. Like, that's just so... Can this girl interview me? It's a man.

59:30Jackie Oshry:Oh, of course. I would like to be interviewed. Yeah.

59:34Claudia Oshry:No, and I'm all for giving grace, honestly. But then let's give grace to everyone. Well, I think Cassie Randolph should be interviewed in Vatity Fair. They asked her for a comment and she... No, not in relation to this. She doesn't want to be in Vatity Fair. No, of course.

59:45Jackie Oshry:But I mean, like, leave Cassie alone when it comes to Colton.

59:48Claudia Oshry:Yeah.

59:48Jackie Oshry:And it's like, wait, now she can't watch a season of Traitors. How annoying for her.

59:51Claudia Oshry:I don't think she wants to watch Traitors. Why?

59:53Jackie Oshry:She's just like a girl who could watch TV. She'll catch the next one. Yeah, no, not this season. So, yeah, it's a very bizarre casting.

1:00:02Claudia Oshry:And it's crazy that he had a show coming out Colton after all of this happened. That's a bigger to me. You know, that's his own show. This is just being cast on a show where you're meant to be a villain.

1:00:14Jackie Oshry:No coming out Colton. It was widely criticized at the time, but it's always been just like inner. And it's really just like girls standing up for Cassie. Like nobody's taking it seriously until now. And I'm sorry. This is the only type of behavior that a man could do. Like seriously, you like we're always canceling people for like tweets and shit. This is somebody who actually like had a restraining order put against him. Like who was in like a physical harmful person to a woman and nobody cares. Nobody cares. Yeah.

1:00:41Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Well, the people care. Right. Right. Right. but anyways I thought like Lisa Rina yeah she was obviously speaking for the internet but I thought what did you mean when you said people were doing cocaine in your bathroom I think he really handled her because she was obviously like just trying to poke like and so it's like I'm obviously mad serious question no and she was just like wanting to bring wanting to like have a moment and then he was like you said you were gonna slit my fucking throat like who oh sorry and I'm sorry handed it to her in that statement with that like and and that's what I also said everyone like keeps being so sensitive at the round tables and stuff like when michael rapaport said you have a secret right right so stupid and it's like you all are talking about killing each other you literally put mark ballast in a coffin and burned it but like oh we're keeping this yeah it's so true it's really really silly um that so the show is just silly and it's like too serious when it's being serious and like unserious when it's being unserious and it's like well how are we supposed

1:01:34Jackie Oshry:to feel about this stupid fucking show and then when i saw them all get back together yesterday it I think I realized that actually wasn't a good cast yeah but what are we looking I don't know because not everyone can be big personality they need a range I think it will be good when it's

1:01:50Claudia Oshry:unknowns because the way that they get people out early who are gamers like Rob C or whatever the guy who called the conga line like I wanted to see like I he would have been amazing on the show but we obviously can't get smart people when they don't know each other and smart people won't be targeted. And people can pretend to be stupid. I think that will be really interesting.

1:02:08Jackie Oshry:Let's dive into Queenie and Weenie, our final segment of the week, what I'm really excited about. So Queenie and Weenie, we do every Friday. It's our final segment before we send you off for the weekend. We like to take a look back at a glance at the weekend and give out two awards, Queenie of the Week and Weenie of the Week. You can go to a person, a place, or a thing. You know, for example, today mine will be a concept. Just things that brought us joy this week, things that were Queenie-like, and of course, things that were Weenie-like. It's not our fault. We're just like living in a world of Weenies.

1:02:29Jackie Oshry:Let's start with Queenie. So my Queenie of the week is a concept that I've been hearing a lot about on TikTok and I took the time this week to actually learn about it and I realized it's sort of a phrase a concept that we've needed like you and I talk about this all the time it's called the Kia Asylum have you heard of it okay so the Kia Asylum is where like pop stars get locked up and I feel like we're always talking about um you know people who have had success and like sort of like fell off or people who um like just can't get the engine started it's a lot of girls pop divas but they're also there's a men's ward.

1:03:00Jackie Oshry:Why is it called Kia Asylum? I don't know. K-H-I-A. I don't know why it's called the Kia Asylum. It's like a Twitter meme that has taken it so far and I just want to say it is the perfect. There's a men's ward. Okay, can I guess people who are in it? And people who have escaped. Okay, Tori Kelly's in it. That's a great example of somebody who's had success like mainstream but then never really got it back but not for lack of trying. I think Madison Beer is in it. Madison Beer is in. I think Charlie XCX has escaped. Who else is an escapee? Charlie, there are two big escapees. And is Charlie XCX one of them?

1:03:29Jackie Oshry:Yes, and there's a third who's actively escaping right now. Okay, okay. Charlie XCX. You're not going to think of it because she's so big you don't even remember a time when she was in the Kia Asylum.

1:03:38Claudia Oshry:No, I feel like I will know. Let me go on my Spotify.

1:03:44Claudia Oshry:She's so big. Hold on. Let me go to the top. I feel like you should just... Let me tell you who it is because you're never going to answer it. Hold on. Kia Asylum.

1:03:59Jackie Oshry:okay you can tell me sabrina carpenter like she could not get arrested for seven years like yeah she's a she's one of the larger escapees and her and charlie like sort of give people hope

1:04:07Claudia Oshry:that there is a bus out right yeah but the thing is like charlie went up down up sabrina just had

1:04:13Jackie Oshry:a very slow up there's no i feel yeah but the path to the key asylum like everyone has their own i think like the core one of like the founding members of the key asylum who's desperately trying to break out is Bebe Rexha. And she keeps making content now about how she's like actively trying to get out of the key asylum.

1:04:28Claudia Oshry:You know, who's in the key asylum and like Betty who she's too neat. She had some drama. Yeah, but she's not mainstream and like she never was mainstream. Like, no, no. She had like that song. She was set to be the next big thing. And then she was put in the asylum.

1:04:41Jackie Oshry:No, who you're thinking of that had the next big thing and is a permanent resident of the key asylum is Ava Max. That's fine. Yeah. Ava Max, Normani, Dove Cameron. They think there's hope for Dove, but she's actively like cellmates with Bebe Rexha. Dove?

1:04:58Claudia Oshry:I think Dove is so talented and I'll always like. The key asylum is not about lack of talent. No, no. But I just feel like she doesn't want to do the mainstream things that it takes to be mainstream successful. She like stays in the art underground world. Right.

1:05:11Jackie Oshry:Somebody who's having a moment and I think who like the conversation about the key asylum like really became mainstream. And she talks about how she's like literally she's not fully out yet, but like she's chipping away. She's pretty much out as Zara Larson. So she's having a really big comeback moment. It's mostly constricted to TikTok. That's the thing. It hasn't gone super mainstream yet.

1:05:27Claudia Oshry:Yes, that's a great example. It's a great example.

1:05:29Jackie Oshry:That's like Charli XCX.

1:05:30Claudia Oshry:Then the men's ward, which like people talk about it mostly in the context of pop divas. Okay, but no, there's definitely a men's ward.

1:05:35Jackie Oshry:You know, that guy, Khalid. Oh, that's a great one, Khalid. Conan Gray is like very much in the Kia Siam. I think he's like my vibe, right? No, I don't think so. I don't, I actually, that's the thing. I don't know a singular Conan Gray song, but he was like friends with Taylor Swift briefly. Like he's famous-ish. It's crazy. Like, but I've never heard a song of his.

1:05:55Claudia Oshry:Oh no, he's not in my like songs. Okay.

1:05:57Jackie Oshry:Shawn Mendes like is in the Kia Asylum right now. By choice. Yeah, kind of. He surrendered. Jack Harlow. Jack Harlow. Like somebody who was everywhere. And you know what reminded me that something I wanted to talk to you about this is because you know who's a men's prisoner of the Kia Asylum who we were just having this conversation with. It's crazy how you could be everywhere all at once and then nowhere is Lil Nas X. So I thought the concept of the key asylum needed to be brought to this show because I feel like we're always sort of referencing this thing. And that's what it is.

1:06:24Claudia Oshry:Yeah. When it feels like you're an industry plant who's no longer chosen. They've given up on you because they couldn't plant your root strong enough. Right. Or you're someone that actually was talented that the industry squashed because you're not a plant. Madison Beer. No. I don't know what it is for Madison Beer. Okay. No, but like some people, like maybe even like Betty Who, whatever. like if she won't work with the record like with the industry then they won't help her

1:06:51Jackie Oshry:oh someone who's in there who I thought was like a good example because like clearly she's successful now but there is something holding her back and we talk about this a lot Tate McRae okay what do you think's holding her back she's so tiktoky and that's like 80 percent of it right like if you're crushing it on tiktok you will be everywhere and something about her like has not penetrated past the internet now the internet is very powerful she's a successful person like she has a lot of streams but when it comes to like actual cultural impact like she when we talk about

1:07:18Claudia Oshry:the pop girlies like she ain't there and i've told you why why the music is not good enough it's not she needs to be making supermarket music and it's not it's like if you want to be a major pop diva your music has to be for everyone whether we know you or not and like you're just playing

1:07:34Jackie Oshry:everywhere and then i saw a funny clip on tiktok about how katie perry like is in the kia asylum and she thought dating a prime minister would get her out but she just brought him in she thought she would be pardoned yeah but it's like no now he's there too that's funny she's like too big actually yes so she might eclipse it only because like she has this insane catalog

1:07:53Claudia Oshry:she's just like on house arrest now but yes yes she will always have been like a girl it's it can be over for her is the thing like if she wanted it she says it's never really over no and yeah that's she has a different issue yes agreed but she's not being like suppressed by the industry She just has like a popularity issue. Yeah. That she did to herself. Correct. Nobody did that except her. Actually, her hairstylist did it to her. Oh, I know. Because that started it all. No, she, I guess for you, but I think she just like. Bon appétit. Yeah, she turned people off.

1:08:27Jackie Oshry:Okay, weenie of the week. Like I said, it's someone in this room who wants to guess who it is. I mean, it has to be me. What are you going to like? Oh, it's, you're wrong. It's you? It's me. What'd you do? I can't believe when I told that Valentine's Day story. I like decided to protect my husband and look what that served me. Like I got embarrassed on the internet will not be happening again. Ben forgot to get me flowers and don't you fucking forget it. Oh, wow. Like I'm embarrassed that I tried to like protect him and he came over and told the truth.

1:08:51Claudia Oshry:I thought it was nice. I thought it was, I think that was like a very human moment. A very weenie moment. Okay. Big W on my forehead. Okay. So we're back to trashing Ben. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. My name is Ben. Yes. And he's part of my sister. Love that. Okay. Because I actually didn't think anyone was like so weenie enough. Me neither. I don't want to just give it to people when it's not deserved because that just feels mean-spirited. I agree. But it's Ben.
