In short
The Toast hosts kick off Monday with personal banter about a thumb/hand disability they call “turditis,” family dynamics around health concerns, and “celebrity podcaster” weekend perks. They recap a family vlog/Patreon mini-series featuring sisters Margo and Olivia (Olivia’s arrival, matching outfits, shopping, and a kids’ gym facility they were allowed to use). They announce a summer hiatus (no shows until Aug 17; break until Sept 8) while continuing biweekly “Good Guys” releases. They discuss pop culture news: Ariana Grande stepping back from the spotlight amid weight-loss concerns; Barbie 2 reportedly stalled due to pay disputes; and Real Housewives of New Jersey buzz about Frank Jr.’s Portugal wedding. They also do “Fast Five” sponsored segments (Nori steamer, Armra colostrum, Visit Buffalo, Stamps.com, Weight Watchers, Outshine) and end with a light “toes confidence” chat and ice cream anecdotes.

The fast five things you need to know. We'll start your day off swirly. It's the toast. I sound amazing. welcome back to the toast and happy monday
0:30Claudia Oshry:monday monday wicked witch yes it's getting increasingly harder to do like heart hands like letters with my because my coccidinia i mean no what's this thing called oh i don't
0:40Jackie Oshry:have a diagnosis for yet but like my thumb issue like i can't do my hand gestures i could never
0:45Claudia Oshry:join a gang but maybe you being like the first person to have this thumb issue they will name it after you the turd is turditis it's such a turditis I think I can barely do I think it is turditis because it sounds serious but not like life-threatening yeah I feel that I don't really
1:03Jackie Oshry:want to get into like my thumb because it will open up a wound that like nobody thinks this is serious I'm living with literally a disability like I'm ready for my handicap placard like I live with this kind of crazy thing that I don't I don't even want to talk about it because nobody thinks it's serious everyone in the family is like oh turdy and her like crazy ailments like You guys have no idea what it's like.
1:21Claudia Oshry:Try being disabled for a day. Try it. You feel like Yolanda. Like nobody's listening to you.
1:25Jackie Oshry:Okay, but like see even that comparison is disrespectful because that bitch had Munchausen syndrome. Oh, you think? No, she had Lyme. Do I think Yolanda had Munchausen syndrome?
1:34Claudia Oshry:Yes. No, no. Do you think she had Lyme? At one point in time, yes, she had Lyme. But when she was on the show talking about her ailments, you think confirmed Munchausen. Not real.
1:44Jackie Oshry:Oh, wait. Is this like up for debate? 1 ,000 percent. Yeah, I think it was never settled. Like I think we just. I think I like yeah I also think it's happening with Bella Hadid now too she's like chronically ill and it's like I think a lot of the Hadid members like are malnourished I think that maybe yes at one point they all happen to have gotten Lyme disease yeah I'm pretty sure it's Munchausen like Lisa Rinna has been vindicated 1000 percent very interesting we're all thinking
2:12Claudia Oshry:it when Lisa Rinna said it I don't remember what I was thinking she was really being extreme like
2:16Jackie Oshry:going to Seoul for all these in a tube and getting her implants taken out. I don't remember what I thought.
2:23Claudia Oshry:And I didn't even know what Munchhausen was when Lisa Rinna said it. So I couldn't have been thinking it because she taught me the term.
2:28Jackie Oshry:She was so brave for saying it, honestly.
2:29Claudia Oshry:It was just like when Megan King Edmond said Brooks is faking cancer.
2:33Jackie Oshry:Right. It's like, it was just like the first person. I don't know who it was.
2:36Claudia Oshry:But it's not like we were all thinking Brooks is faking cancer.
2:38Jackie Oshry:No, no. It was like the first person who said like Jussie Smollett was faking his hate crime. Like to be that first person, I could never. I'm such like a cow in a herd, you know, like I'm just a group thinker. I'm like, yeah, whatever the group is doing to be the first person to say. And sometimes people are wrong. So like, you know, you never want. And then to be wrong about someone faking cancer or someone faking a hate crime, like you're the worst person on earth.
3:00Claudia Oshry:Oh, my God. Of course.
3:02Jackie Oshry:But it's not like with Brooks or even with Jussie. You say now like everyone was like, oh, this is weird. No, at the time, nobody thought Jussie was lying.
3:09Claudia Oshry:Like now some people say like, yeah, like but nobody wanted to say it. No, no, no.
3:12Jackie Oshry:Why would we ever think he was lying? Who was thinking that? I wasn't. Why would we ever think? And then when like the narrative started to be like Juicy Soalaya is lying about his hate crime. And I'm like, can you get hate crimes in this country without someone coming for your neck? Next thing you know, he fully made it up. So yeah, to be that first person is an incredibly brave thing to do.
3:29Claudia Oshry:Well, I'm not going to be any sort of person that is questioning your ailment. I've seen it firsthand.
3:38Jackie Oshry:Oh, my ailment. Not to rub it in. Oh, my God. Are there rumors about me?
3:41Claudia Oshry:But I've seen it firsthand.
3:42Jackie Oshry:hand, emphasis on the singular hand, because I only have one functioning one.
3:46Claudia Oshry:No, there aren't rumors about you, but you said you don't feel...
3:49Jackie Oshry:I don't feel genuinely understood, and I don't think that the group, and when I say the group, I mean our family, really gets the severity of it, except for Ben, and he thinks it's too serious. Because he's a hypochondriac. All the time, he's like, you have to get an MRI. I'm like, if there's an ailment that requires... And I did the EMG. If there's an ailment that requires me to get an MRI, I'm out. Once you did the EMG though and like you really looked at everything and like.
4:12Claudia Oshry:There's nothing wrong. It's just a very like inconvenient truth. You know. But I no longer like worry about it. I'm just sad for you that that's how you're going through life. Thank you. Happy Monday everyone.
4:27Jackie Oshry:Happy Monday. I hope everybody had a great weekend. We had an action packed weekend. Like obviously I'm only thinking about the last 24 hours where Olivia finally got here. Oh my God. The last 12 hours. It was so fun. but like let's cut all the way back like the last time we were here we hadn't filmed our award-winning vlog yet on friday after the show we took margo shopping it was a vlog patreon experience there people are freaking out like they are saying it's one of our best vlogs ever it is i watched it and
4:51Claudia Oshry:i was like feeling joyful watching it as if i wasn't the one there it was just a really fun watching people are asking for a part two like say less bestie i saw a comment today that was like part two five grand budget calm down I'm with you and the thing is if the vlogs continue to be
5:08Jackie Oshry:successful yes we can increase the budget because you know the vlogs are pay to play you have to watch it's a subscription so like yeah go subscribe to patreon.com slash a toast and maybe we'll increase the budget I don't want to say what our budget was because it's part of the narrative
5:22Claudia Oshry:like and we're very transparent about the budget a thousand percent and you and that is also sort of the fun like us deciding like what we're gonna spend like what's in budget so yeah we can't increase the budget she can't increase the budget we called her out on like the oscillation of
5:38Jackie Oshry:cardboard koji yeah sometimes it's on sometimes it's off cardboard card today oscillates would cardboard koji do this would cardboard koji have this if you guys can't see i'm wearing a birkin now fun fact i didn't pay for this birkin bend it so so cardboard koji would Well actually I guess I did pay for that Birkin in blood sweat and tears Because it was my push present In sweat equity
6:01Claudia Oshry:I'm wearing a push present as well Just two pushers She's a pusher
6:08Jackie Oshry:She pushes people Just been pushing So the vlog is up
6:15Claudia Oshry:We're matching clothes We're so brown The first outfit I put on was literally your outfit I was wearing brown sick pants and a cream sweater And it just didn't It didn't look good the length of the sweater versus the height of the pants. You know that ratio? It's very fine. Do I know that ratio?
6:30Jackie Oshry:It's a very fine line to walk. The length of a top is so important. Like too long. What is she hiding? Too short? Please hide.
6:40Claudia Oshry:Too long you need a certain pair of pants. Too short you need a certain pair of pants. And so the length of the top versus the length of the pants were not a match.
6:47Jackie Oshry:It's such a delicate balance.
6:49Claudia Oshry:So then I just wore a different brown ensemble, still matching with my swirly. And then we both came downstairs in our Birkins. And our iced coffees. We're giving like just like brownie. Show everyone.

6:58Jackie Oshry:I really have to now pick everything back up.
6:59Claudia Oshry:Yeah, just like for the thumbnail. Okay. Even though we don't like do thumbnails like that. You know what I mean? For the screenshot. Matching. Sisters. Oh my God.
7:08Jackie Oshry:That was a hundred. Oh. Oh God.
7:10Claudia Oshry:Okay. Sisters matching. Sisters matching. So Olivia got here last night, which was so exciting.
7:17Jackie Oshry:Friday we did our vlog with our other sister, Miss Margo. And it was amazing. Who was also here all weekend.
7:20Claudia Oshry:So pagearn.com slash the toast. we will be doing a part two in August because it was an amazing, incredible ride. And there's more work to be done. Like we definitely like storyboard wise. There are gaps in her wardrobe that we need to fill. This was clearly episode one of like a multi-episode series. So an installment. An installment. I think it's actually like a mini series. Like the Queen's Gambit. Like we've never done a mini series on the toes before,
7:43Jackie Oshry:but I think this is a mini series.
7:44Claudia Oshry:It could have multiple seasons, you know, after proving to be successful. No, different subjects.
7:48Jackie Oshry:We're kind of like Queer Eye where we go and I handle the more emotional elements and you handle the fashion you're tan i'm so karamo you think i'm is tan fashion fashion yeah you're so tan but i'm also like jvn hair encouraging no that's karamo you think karamo was like emotional social that was like a very unnecessary piece yeah it's like everyone had a very distinct job hair clothes outfit food home building feelings like that's not but the thing is when you do change everything about your
8:23Claudia Oshry:physical appearance you do also need to work on the inside as well to make sure you're all aligned 100 you can't just have like a new house a new face a new wardrobe a new life and then like on the same like not have done any self-work because you didn't have all those ugly things before and was like for no reason well on the inside yeah yeah so i actually think i was the caramo you You were, I feel like you were the Bobby, like the strong steady force. Well, the Bobby is like the person who does all the work and gets no airtime.
8:51Jackie Oshry:So that is me because I paid for everything. And I wasn't on camera at all because we only had two microphones. So I had to film the whole time and I wasn't allowed to speak. So actually, yes, I am the Bobby. Yeah. Silenced. Yeah. Neither of us were the Anthony. No, I wish Anthony was there.
9:07Claudia Oshry:I was starving.
9:08Jackie Oshry:We didn't eat the entire time. We actually had a huge meal right before. We actually did. I didn't explain the entire time that we were too full. We did have such it. Margot was running like, so we sat down at St. Ambrose. It's in the vlog. Yeah, I don't want to spoil it. You don't want to spoil what she got. But I did get spaghetti. It was so good.
9:21Claudia Oshry:We were really full the whole time. Yeah. The whole day. I kind of went comfortable. Yeah. And yeah, it was really great.
9:27Jackie Oshry:So, fayton.com slash the toast. That's what we did on Friday. We had such a, just a great family weekend. Lots of time outside. Literally spent the whole weekend outside. Swimming. And kind of like the most amazing celebrity thing happened to me. When you think about being a celebrity, of which we are, no matter how many times people tell us we're not. Like, we are. You think about the various perks. So that's why I'm not an influencer, because I'm a celebrity. By the way, yes. I think that is what I was saying. That is what you were trying to say.
9:50Claudia Oshry:Absolutely. But you didn't want to, like, put down influencers.
9:52Jackie Oshry:There's nothing wrong with being an influencer. We are just not. We're literally celebrity podcasters. Like, and I'm not even kidding when I say that. I'm not. But over the weekend, like. And sales associates. And sales associates. And, yeah. So when you think about the various perks of being a celebrity, you think, you know, free clothes. Yeah, like free restaurant.
10:11Claudia Oshry:Right.
10:11Jackie Oshry:Reservations. And of course there's that. But like something happened to me that was like just like the genuine definition of a perk. And it only happened to me because I'm a celebrity. I forget if it was like Saturday. Yeah, it was Saturday. And we just like had like two more hours to kill with Fu. And like he was getting like kind of restless. So let's just go. We went to like one of these like kids type of gym play things. And we got there. And I was like, you know what? This is good. Like we have to get out of the house. We're pulling up. We're like kind of like so excited. And the door is locked.
10:36Jackie Oshry:And there's a big sign that says close for a private event from like two to five or whatever. and I see inside there's like a huge birthday party somebody like rented it out for their kids birthday party and I was so fucking annoyed like we had just gotten in the car and I just was so defeated staring at the sign and me and Ben are like reading it and we're like should we like we're like we have to go we turn around we turn around to leave and as I'm turning around the door opens there was a swirl light and she was like it's my niece's birthday party you can come in like use the facilities they were only using like the front there's a bunch of kids she was like come in use it do you want something to eat I was like me and Ben were like is it crazy of us to like take a sandwich.
11:08Jackie Oshry:We didn't take any food and we just like saw ourselves in and went all the way to the back because we were using, it was like a grown up, not grown up, like six year old. Bigger kids and you went to the little kids. We just ate like a little baby swing area. Genuinely, like first of all, save the day because I don't know what we would have done and like so celebrity. She didn't say that she was a swirly but like why else would she let these like two randos in?
11:27Claudia Oshry:Oh.
11:27Jackie Oshry:So she didn't say. I mean she looked like a swirly and she was like, you guys can come.
11:31Claudia Oshry:Oh, that's so sweet. And she didn't say like, turdy. I guess maybe I am assuming.
11:34Jackie Oshry:Kind of like I did it with the woman at Chanel.
11:36Claudia Oshry:You did? I didn't even tell you guys this. You guys, this is a nightmare. We went to Chanel.
11:41Jackie Oshry:Nightmare scenario. I told you guys, Ben got me a really nice gift, but obviously I had to return it. And so we went to the store. We made a whole day of it. And the sales associate helping us was so great. And she was like, you look so familiar.
11:51Claudia Oshry:And I don't like, I want to make it do the whole rigmarole. Pretend I'm not a celebrity podcaster. Right, right.
11:56Jackie Oshry:So I'm like, it's probably from Instagram.
11:58Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
11:58Jackie Oshry:And she was like, yeah? huh? I'm like, girl with no job. And she was like, Oh no, I helped you here last summer. And I was like, Oh yeah. You helped me here last summer. I was humiliated, like genuinely humiliated. And that's the last time I'll assume. But I know.
12:16Claudia Oshry:People have such a hard time getting there and they also feel awkward.
12:19Jackie Oshry:So I just like be like, yeah, like whatever. It's me. It's me.
12:21Claudia Oshry:Yeah. That like, I treat it differently every time. Cause sometimes people are like, you look so familiar and I'm like,
12:26Jackie Oshry:a hard time placing us. Cause we're like much more beautiful and thin in person.
12:29Claudia Oshry:Yes. And so like a couple times I've been like, oh, I have a podcast. Like I'll just sort of cut to the chase. Yeah, right.
12:35Jackie Oshry:One time I was in the doctor's office and the girl who was like so swirly was like, you look so familiar. I was like, the toast. And she was like, she's like, you're Margo's sister.
12:46Claudia Oshry:Oh my God. Now you're getting Nepo's sister. You're Margo's sister. I went to camp with her.
12:51Jackie Oshry:Screaming. No, it's humiliating. But then when you don't, it's just like you have to sit there so painful and watch people like put the pieces together. So I tried to help. One time I didn't do it, right? Right, right. I didn't.
13:00Claudia Oshry:And literally she goes over every friend she has in Florida. Do you know this person? Do you know this person? No, no. Did you go to this? Were you there? No, no. And then literally like halfway through, it was in a meeting, halfway through she was like, I seen you on TikTok. Yeah.
13:15Jackie Oshry:Well, there we have it. Yeah. There's kind of like no good way to handle it. And I will not be doing that again. Like that was genuinely humiliating. I was like, my Instagram. No. No.
13:28Claudia Oshry:not at all um so yeah just like celebrity podcaster things no big deal nbd so yeah it was a fun weekend we're so excited trout's here we have to get her maybe like a trout queer eye
13:41Jackie Oshry:oh she will never trout for queer eye trout for queer eye she'll never i mean i've been dying i literally my dream blog is olivia let me do to do her makeup and just put i just put lipstick on no no she is so fucking particular about her makeup and she did her she's had the same makeup tutorial don't ask her for an updated one you don't need it the video from 10 years ago still works she did it for our patreon like five years ago when we were in utah she has the like genuinely the craziest method she uses the same three products from bare minerals they're 100 years old the method she carries everything still in a ziploc bag if you've ever wanted to watch the craziest makeup tutorial of your life it is also on patreon it's just search like olivia's makeup tutorial it has not changed i would love to get my hands on that face she has the literally the perfect lips like i could do so much with olivia's face i think we should strive for that like this month i would love that she could use all my products like we have the same skin tone no all
14:28Claudia Oshry:she has to do is sit and like we film her of course i love that she will love it she will hate it hey but maybe she will let it she just needs to let it happen she she will let it she
14:39Jackie Oshry:would let it um and i do feel like now might be a good time to tell everyone like what we kind of
14:44Claudia Oshry:haven't told them yes which is that there will be a small summer break here at the toast which has been planned all summer there was actually supposed to be a break in june um but my travel plans change and so we just like moved everything around and we doesn't love it we thought it would perfect just do a summer hiatus like a small summer break we always take a some version of a summer break and this month this summer there will this week of shows so we have next week of
15:09Jackie Oshry:shows and then we are on break until labor day which is when we'll be traveling back home so we'll get settled we both need some time to just like adjust and i also um want to just spend some time in the hamptons like with boo like yeah just like have actual vacation so uh just want to warn everyone we still have two more weeks left of shows like don't fret and there will of course
15:26Claudia Oshry:be patreon so we'll still be working yeah um and we'll try and do like you guys know most of the episodes the latter half of the month so you'll have episodes when we're not doing this and we'll like do pop culture catch-ups but starting august 17th no shows until we are back on september 8th and the good guys are still releasing bi-weekly so you have that the redheads are releasing we are recording today I spent my weekend reading the book and it's a great book okay and I think it's like a book that people should seen it like and you see a lot of books and when I told people I was reading this book there I go I've seen it you know Goodreads always recommends the same things everyone's reading the same books but then when you read the books everyone's reading it's like why is everyone reading this right and in reading this book I don't know how it's going to end I have like 10 more percent that I'm going to finish today I'm just like I really enjoy this book and it's a good one and like if you're looking for which of the like books that are everyone's buzzing about should I actually read I'm kind of loving this one wow and it was a statue and it's nothing crazy but it's just like the way it starts versus like where we're at now it just like keeps changing into like I'm almost having this experience where it's like the person you thought who's the main character is kind of not the main character it's very interesting like journey to go on and very interesting what cojourna fred to go on and if you're looking for like a summer read that like people are talking about or a book club book that will impress the shampoo effect i'm curious to hear how the other girls feel about it but like i'm
16:50Jackie Oshry:for them all to be like i hated that i don't think there's anything really hateable i can't
16:53Claudia Oshry:believe you love a satchi choice so much yeah it's actually always has a solid choice and she always like has us reading what people are popular and that's too young and that's like good for the book club of course you know because then people want to read when it's niches choice because it's a lower lift and i think it's really quality book so i would recommend it to you as well Top quality literature, would you say? Top quality literature. And did you hear that?
17:13Jackie Oshry:I would recommend it to you, Journey. I mean, I still have not, since I told you guys about my Saccarver books, I haven't read one more page. And it's just like the 20 pages I read are now like forgotten. Forgotten. It's just like not, it's not a reading summer for me. You know? I understand. Sometimes it is, sometimes it ain't.
17:29Claudia Oshry:Well, we're recording today. So we'll see you guys on Thursday. The Thursday. But until then, without further. I'm open to, I'm open to starting like I guess. I guess. Without further ado-da-da-da-doo. Why are you staring at my feet? I just like look down for a second. Okay. If that's allowed. Permission to look down for a second. Are you feeling insecure because you're wearing your toes out?
17:50Jackie Oshry:No, I wear my toes out almost every day. You do?
17:52Claudia Oshry:Yeah. I don't anymore. I get so much hate for my toes.
17:55Jackie Oshry:What's wrong with them?
17:56Claudia Oshry:They like are quirked. Are they?
17:59Jackie Oshry:Well, I have like one bad toe. My fourth toe on the left foot just sort of like hugs the third. and you can't really see like the nail because it goes behind the third. Do you see it? I think I see. But I see other people's feet and I think on the spectrum of feet, I'm very, very above average because I don't think there's anything wrong with my feet.
18:21Claudia Oshry:I'm just like not looking that close, you know?
18:23Jackie Oshry:I don't know. Sometimes you can see like someone's big toe, like the nail is really small, but like the toe is really big.
18:28Claudia Oshry:For me, it's like people would only ever see like my toes, like not from the top, but like maybe from the bottom. I don't know. Or sometimes I used to post pictures like this and like with my bare feet.
18:40Jackie Oshry:Well, you can't post bare feet. I'm wearing sandals. Like open toe and bare feet are two different things.
18:44Claudia Oshry:I just like used to get a lot of hate for my toes. So I've been. You've been shamed into submission. Okay.
18:50Jackie Oshry:Love that for you.
18:50Claudia Oshry:But I'm glad to see that you're feeling confident and you're little.
18:54Jackie Oshry:I mean, why are you acting like I shouldn't feel confident? In your doubts. I actually, I have normal feet. Like I'm not going to show my arms all the time. I'm certainly not like bearing midriff. But my toes, yeah, call me crazy. I'm showing my toes. And that's hot in confidence.
19:08Claudia Oshry:Now, without further ado-da-da-da-doo, here are the fast-sized stories that you-da-doo need to know.
19:14Jackie Oshry:And the fast-sized stories that you need to know are brought to you by Nori. If you're heading to Target this week, there's one new launch that you should keep an eye out for. It's a brand new Nori Cloud. So we're in the Hamptons. We're wearing, like, lots of linen, lots of silk, and we need steamers. It's not just a Hamptons thing, although I feel like my wardrobe this summer is very, very steamer-friendly. Well, if you ever owned a handheld steamer, you probably know the struggle. They leak, they spit water all over your clothes. They somehow make getting ready even more stressful. And that's why Nori created the cloud.
19:41Jackie Oshry:Like handheld steamers, steamers in general are just so problematic. And whether you buy cheap ones or expensive ones, like they're all garbage. And Nori is a company that just set out to make a good, perfect steamer. And let me tell you, they did it. So you may know Nori from their viral handheld steam iron, which is called the Nori Press. It was such a hit at Target that Target actually invited the brand to expand into entirely new category. And that's what led to the creation of the nori cloud so instead of just making another handheld steamer they redesign the entire experience from the ground up it heats up in 25 seconds it delivers 20 minutes of continuous steam it features anti-spit technology so it will prevent leaks sputtering and water spots that make traditional steaming so frustrating it's very lightweight super compact it's beautifully designed it's easy to travel with and it's the kind of target purchase that makes your entire morning routine better it's loved by celebrities oprah's favorite things rachel zo and they're a small female founded company full of toasters on a mission to make clothing care faster easier and a whole lot more beautiful.
20:34Jackie Oshry:So visit your local Target store or visit nori.co, N-O-R-I dot C-O, and use KOTOS at checkout for 20 % off your first purchase. 26:13Claudia Oshry:our first story ariana grande pulls out of west end debut as she's taking a step back from the limelight after weight loss concerns good so ariana grande is pulling out of her debut on the west end and she will be stepping away from the limelight on sunday her rep revealed that the singer who was on her eternal sunshine tour is taking a break from the spotlight amid endless public scrutiny don't blame us quote ariana will be taking a step back from visibility after she completes her tour she looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note both healthily and happily and then taking a much deserved break from public facing work and
26:45Jackie Oshry:appearances which has led to endless ongoing public scrutiny i think a lot of this is on the heels of a music video she released on friday yes her new album came out on friday and then the music video for pedal came out as well and we've obviously been seeing like all these videos of her on tour and it's like all really concerning but to see this like extremely high definition close-up video of her where she's like wearing kind of revealing outfits so you see I think it was even like people like it was just shocking like the the the video when she's wearing that black dress and it's like very um like low cut it's so upsetting and so everyone like people like well if you want to help someone with an anorexia like you should do this I don't know what the right thing to do is but like she looks awful she looks sick and like she needs help so whether that's you know taking time off I don't know what we're supposed to say to help but like it's bad so like fix it yeah yeah did you see also like tmz like shutting down a rumor that ethan slater and lily j are getting back together like in what fucking world she would never
27:47Claudia Oshry:no i don't know i'm reading shampoo effect and they have a storyline like that sort of it's
27:52Jackie Oshry:just about like i'm sorry she could she could never and i know you're like supposed to do what
27:56Claudia Oshry:you're supposed to do for your kids yeah like it's no no no i don't know no no i don't think she I don't know where that and you know what she's really gotten through like most of the hard part without him so it's like if she's made it till now she's fine she's literally fine she's so much better off she's so fine yeah um like it's really bad with Ari like it is and I don't know what like the right thing for us to respond is like I obviously don't want to make her feel bad but I also don't like we can't all act like this is normal because it's like normalizes it
28:28Jackie Oshry:And it's harmful to like girls,
28:31Claudia Oshry:like so, and she does need, I don't also don't want to like perpetuate whatever she's feeling that are making her do this by consuming all of this and like making her feel like she's on this hamster wheel. Now she has this album. So then there's the next tour. And like, I just sort of like want to give space and hold space.
28:51Jackie Oshry:Yeah. I haven't been really engaging with, I have not been engaging with the tour. I obviously didn't go. I didn't watch a music video I just saw like the backlash and screenshots so I agree like I don't want to encourage this type of behavior and culture so I'm not really like involved here except that like I see something and I'm saying something like you look scary
29:15Claudia Oshry:bad really bad very very scary and I think you know she always is very thin and she's been very thin for a while this seems to be like a new because I'm even looking at pictures of her from the Wicked premiere where we used to say she's so skinny And she looks like better healthy compared to how she looks really bad. Like to how she looks now. But she also as much as like she like shows off her collarbones or whatever. She does hide a lot. You know, she doesn't like wear like the skimpiest things. I feel like she doesn't show so much skin. This was the most we've seen in so long.
29:44Jackie Oshry:And like that's why it was so that's why it's so jarring. It was really upsetting.
29:48Claudia Oshry:And then the concept for the music video that I didn't watch, but I've seen like screenshots is like how she's not good enough. And she's doing this audition and they like don't like her. and there's like notes at the bottom that said could lose a few pounds. Like no one is saying that.
30:00Jackie Oshry:I know the industry is toxic and fat phobic and everybody needs to lose 10 pounds,
30:04Claudia Oshry:but no one is saying that.
30:06Jackie Oshry:That's not real. And also it's just like you have to think about like how many people. And of course like a celebrity pop star, like no one can tell Ari what to do. She's in charge. But like how many people surround her? Even for this music video, not one person was like, maybe we should put on a different dress. Like something.
30:20Claudia Oshry:Yeah. And I do think she has like yes people around her. Of course. And like people who lick her butt most. like most celebrities do but like butt munchers yeah um but she's also surrounded by family so i don't like i'm sure they're where is frankie her mom is always right there yeah i'm sure she's like
30:35Jackie Oshry:yeah i think when someone's like so like knee deep in a disorder like you literally can't tell
30:39Claudia Oshry:especially when that person is like on top of the world you know what can you tell them yeah if it's
30:43Jackie Oshry:like your teenage daughter you can like put her in a facility like no one can really tell arya to do anything that she doesn't want to do yikes it's really bad so even though like the public
30:52Claudia Oshry:scrutiny is the reason for the break from public life like sure great whatever take a break from public life however you need to justify it doing another broadway show like those are so the dancing and the sleeplessness and the late nights that's not what she needs agreed sad scary yeah yeah it does seem like it's reaching like a bit of a pitch though i felt like you know for the last few months like only only like a brave people have been saying it and there are people in the comments
31:18Jackie Oshry:and you're like, she's always been this skinny. Like, really.
31:22Claudia Oshry:No, we're like, we don't comment on women's bodies. I do. Which is like a decent rule to abide by most of the time, but there are exceptions.
31:30Jackie Oshry:This is an exception.
31:32Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
31:33Jackie Oshry:Insane.
31:33Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So I just hope that she's okay and that she gets help. Me too. Our next story. Barbie 2 is in the works, but it's stalled as David Zaslav won't approve bigger salaries for Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. So when a movie makes more than$1.4 billion at the box office and earns eight Academy Award nominations, the studio's going to want to make a sequel. Such is the case with Barbie, but time is running out for the studio to put Margot Robbie back in pink. In a new report, the New York Times reveals that Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zaslav has...
32:08Jackie Oshry:I was thinking, I'm like, why is this the second time this weekend that I've heard the name David Zaslav? he's apparently buying a summer camp like people are kind of everyone in the New England area is talking about it because it's like one of those camps
32:19Claudia Oshry:oh he is buying a summer camp yeah
32:22Jackie Oshry:I was like why have I heard the name David Zaslav before
32:25Claudia Oshry:why is he buying it I don't know like for fun it's giving Schitt's Creek
32:29Jackie Oshry:no I think it's like a beloved camp that's like on it's last on it's balls yeah and so like bring in your local billionaire president of Warner Brothers to save it
32:37Claudia Oshry:I love it
32:38Jackie Oshry:he might live in the area or something
32:39Claudia Oshry:that's like Schitt's Creek yeah and then if you know Warner Brothers
32:42Jackie Oshry:If all else fails, he's the director of the camp. He can go live at the camp. And that's a show I would watch on Warner Brothers Discovery. Full circle. Okay, so sorry.
32:50Claudia Oshry:He's also, in addition to being a camp owner. He will not give them raises. Ryan Gosling is angling to raise his pay to$20 million. And he is pushing back.
33:01Jackie Oshry:I mean, businessman got a business and actor going to act. Yeah. Yeah, I would also try to get a raise.
33:07Claudia Oshry:Dollars and cents wise. Like if it does, even though I don't know how at a$1.4 billion. generated budget why you can't afford$20 million for Ryan Gosling but we can't afford$20 million for Ryan Gosling.
33:19Jackie Oshry:Like I really don't feel that we need a Barbie 2. I didn't think we needed a Barbie 1 but not everyone agreed with me on that. We definitively though do not need a Barbie 2. I'm so not. It's not going to be like what Barbie 1 was. They're trying to like recreate. I get it. Like this is a business so it'll do well. How did Barbie 1 end? Okay.
33:38Claudia Oshry:Aside from like the speeches and then the old lady which was like so cute.
33:41Jackie Oshry:the old lady yeah plot wise where is barbie i think she returned to barbie land but like brought
33:48Claudia Oshry:equality with her or something but she like but in barbie land i don't think equality lack of equality was the issue of anything like barbie has more power in barbie land more more right
34:00Jackie Oshry:she had more rights ken didn't the problem with barbie land was that like it wasn't like realistic
34:07Claudia Oshry:what was the problem with barbie land it because like he's just ken right right and he's obsessed with barbie and like barbie's a queen and everything's like it's barbie's world we're just living in it what was the problem with barbie land yes chat it sounds like sort of
34:25Jackie Oshry:like in the barbie movie what was wrong it sounds like a woman's dream in the barbie movie what was
34:29Claudia Oshry:wrong with barbie land question mark you know it was like women presidents and like yeah but then And maybe she went to the real world and realized things aren't like.
34:37Jackie Oshry:It seems perfect, but it isn't. One of the central ideas of the film is that society can have blind spots, even one that appears idyllic. So the Kens have no real identity or agency. Okay.
34:46Claudia Oshry:Okay, so this is like a male's rights movie.
34:47Jackie Oshry:It's a mirror image of an unequal society. Barbie Land isn't presented as a perfect feminist utopia as much as an inversion of traditional gender dynamics. Okay. Is that good, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:56Claudia Oshry:So it is unequal in the other way. It's the matriarchy.
34:58Jackie Oshry:But when Ken discovers patriarchy in the real world, he overcorrects it and imports it back to Barbie Land, creating a Ken-dom. Barbie herself is living an artificial scripted existence. So her existential crisis, thinking about death, getting flat feet, reveals that she never had to ask who is beyond a... I just want to say, like, these are made-up problems. Her journey is about becoming an individual rather than living out a predetermined role. It's giving words solid. In the end, Barbie regains control. They begin giving the Kens more rights and opportunities, recognizing that they, too, deserve agency and purpose.
35:29Jackie Oshry:It's not portrayed as instant equality, but as the beginning of a more balanced society. so the film's message isn't that barbie land was bad it's that it was incomplete barbie needed a real identity beyond perfection and the kens needed identities beyond barbie i just feel like none of that really made any sense yeah like that's very thin so i don't know what the plot's going to be for like barbie too because it sounds like they fixed the problem
35:52Claudia Oshry:yeah we need to sort of just like get away from that and i think that margot robbie like it was
35:57Jackie Oshry:amazing it was big and it was like it was a moment but i don't really think that she needs to like do it again no she hasn't suffered since she's done like a million movies since big ones they
36:06Claudia Oshry:would really need to switch up the plot because like the gender dynamics i'm all played out i'm all set me too i'm all set um and like the collabs we got ice cream this weekend and ben wanted the other one what we all got ice cream this weekend and zach was holding two and he was
36:26Jackie Oshry:like does anyone want this zach was holding two ice creams and then ben was ben got like this huge
36:31Claudia Oshry:milkshake okay sorry i didn't know what you were talking about but now i do we're all set
36:36Jackie Oshry:so we all we went to get ice cream and everybody got like normal ice cream they had hard ice cream
36:40Claudia Oshry:yeah i was skinny i got we got small i got hard ice cream but extra small i got this like probably
36:46Jackie Oshry:3 000 calorie it wasn't even a milkshake it came in a milkshake cup but it was layered with like hot fudge peanut butter reese's pieces ice cream like it was insane first of all i had three bites it was magical like of course delicious thing and we got an extra soft serve we were like messing with him for like being fat and like we were being skinny
37:04Claudia Oshry:I didn't even mess with him at all we got an extra soft serve pistachio that like Zach was holding it wasn't like particularly great and Zach wanted to throw it away and so he was like send me one I'm gonna throw it away and Ben's like we could see Ben was thinking about it
37:15Jackie Oshry:Ben was considering it and I looked at him and I was like I think you're all set like let me tell you Ben was so offended he could knock it over that Jackie said that he said I'm all set which
37:23Claudia Oshry:I meant that like you have the best ice cream ever. Your hands are full. Why do you want this melting green thing that nobody wanted? Like, you are all set.
37:32Jackie Oshry:You are the definition of all set. Jackie in the car ride home, he was like, I'm all set? What does that mean? He's all set. He was the definition of all set. He thought I was like bad-shaming him,
37:41Claudia Oshry:but I really wasn't. No, we were all just jealous. You don't want this melting green thing. You don't. It's not better than what you have.
37:48Jackie Oshry:And he like ordered something on the menu. Like, nobody does that at an ice cream place. Like, everybody makes their own shit. No, he ordered like a straight up, And no substitutes or anything. Just like, I'll have the blank. I forgot what it was called. And, oh my God, it was so good. We need to go back. I need to have one. Yeah, we can go back. That was fun. We haven't gotten enough ice cream this summer, don't you find?
38:07Claudia Oshry:We haven't gotten a lot of ice cream this summer. But we got a lot of pie and a lot of cookies. A lot of muffins. Clearly, I haven't suffered. A lot of crumb cakes, banana breads.
38:16Jackie Oshry:Yeah, a lot of pastries.
38:17Claudia Oshry:Yeah, baked goods. But no, not a lot of ice cream. Frozen treats, yeah. Our next story is some beautiful news. Oh my god, beauty? Beauty. Dolores Catania's son, Frank Jr., has gotten married in an elegant wine country wedding in Portugal. Seriously?
38:34Jackie Oshry:Hearts are breaking all over New Jersey. Yes, they are. He is so hot.
38:37Claudia Oshry:Yes. He's 27 years old. Frank Catania Jr. has gotten married to Nicole Perico. Wearing a Malzano suit. Wearing Malzano's tuxedos. It's actually unclear if he was wearing Malzano's tuxedos. So. he actually wore a custom Michael Andrews bespoke NYC tuxedo.
38:57Jackie Oshry:Leveled up for the wedding. He did. So isn't it interesting though that he's like taken this very traditional route? Like a 27 year old, really handsome, like jersey. He's definitely could have been like a player. He's like a little famous. Like I could see him being such an asshole. He's so grounded. No, he's so grounded. That's Dolores. Like, yeah. Did you see Dolores's dress? I did. People are like conversing about it because it's literally a wedding dress. Not only is it white, but it's like so bridal. Um, I imagine, you know, that was approved or.
39:27Claudia Oshry:I don't really think it's an issue. Like, I mean, nobody thinks Dolores is the bride. Right. Right. It is crazy. This girl is so like gorgeous and I'm sure confident and like wear whatever you want. Wear whatever makes you feel good. Like seriously.
39:40Jackie Oshry:No, totally. She looked great. Yeah.
39:43Claudia Oshry:So did Frank Jr. I didn't see pictures of senior, but I'm assuming he was there. I'm sure he was there. I'm surprised he didn't invite his friend Dana.
39:50Jackie Oshry:And then it's like, what?
39:51Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
39:52Jackie Oshry:Dana. You guys know that Dana Holzberg has become best friends with? Frank Catania. I don't know if you guys knew that. Dana Webman. I don't know what people call her.
39:58Claudia Oshry:Yeah, she's Dana Webman now.
39:59Jackie Oshry:She's Dana Webman now.
40:00Claudia Oshry:Yeah, she's very good friends with Mary Catania. Senior. Senior. Confusingly.
40:05Jackie Oshry:And it also is just a reminder, like I'm sure this wasn't filmed and perhaps at one point like it would have been like a major storyline on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Like what is up with the Real Housewives of New Jersey?
40:14Claudia Oshry:I think that they're off pause. It actually could have been filmed if the divorce isn't part of it.
40:18Jackie Oshry:We got confirmation that Margaret Josephs isn't returning. She's on Golden Years. Golden Girls? What's that called? Golden Life. Golden Life. She will be on Golden Life, which I actually think is a great move for her. Are they filming? Which women were at the wedding?
40:31Claudia Oshry:We don't know if they're filming, but I think that they might be because - They should be.
40:35Jackie Oshry:This is a great storyline. Yeah.
40:37Claudia Oshry:Frank and Tanya Jr. gets married. That's insane. That's a first - And it looks like a beautiful wedding in Portugal.
40:43Jackie Oshry:It does. Seeing the Jersey Housewives in Portugal, that would be funny.
40:46Claudia Oshry:Yeah.
40:47Jackie Oshry:I think it's possible. And there's also so much going on with Teresa. You see Melania's best friend passed away.
40:52Claudia Oshry:No.
40:52Jackie Oshry:They've all been posting about this girl, Victoria, like this young girl who died. And then, of course, Melania was also arrested. And they're saying that the target of her domestic violence was Louis or Louis' son because they have the same initials. LR. So we kind of need cameras up.
41:08Claudia Oshry:I think that they might be. I just feel like if Margaret New confirms she's not filming, it's because other people are filming. Right, right. Like contracts went out. Yes. Yeah, yeah. And they used to film in the summer, Jersey Shore. Yes. It's such a good franchise. It is. and like the Jersey Shore is central to the show like the shore houses and like Melissa oh yeah they do do summer so I feel like they would be filming yeah
41:31Jackie Oshry:it's just funny like which ones got put on like hiatus like when other you know what I mean like Jersey wasn't that bad right they were at a standstill with like some of the women not wanting to film with each other but that actually makes good TV like the fact that they refused to put New York on hiatus when it's like seriously so turnt whereas like New Jersey like it wasn't that bad and they have like so many beloved characters that people would watch I'm like, can I do anything?
41:52Claudia Oshry:Yeah. It's like, why that one? I don't know. It's funny when they decide to like throw in the towel. But there's good stuff here. Are you ready for our fourth story?
42:01Jackie Oshry:No.
42:02Claudia Oshry:Are you ready for our fourth story? I am ready for our fourth story because it's a story that's brought to you by Outshine. Yeah, that's right. Jex, you want to take it away? Outshine is the official snack of swirly summer. Am I right, Kojer?

44:29Claudia Oshry:And let me tell you, the Spindrift tea...
44:30Jackie Oshry:Absolutely. The Spindrift tea is so good. It's very crisp. It's non-carbonated. So it really feels like you're drinking a traditional iced tea, but it has a much more authentic flavor from the fruit. They come in a bunch of different flavors. The raspberry tea is so good. Lemon tea is also so good. Slightly sweet, but it has no artificial sweeteners or colors. So it's real squeezed fruit with a touch of agave. It's very delicious. It's a great swirly beverage. 48:19Claudia Oshry:Thank you slash turt. You're welcome. Do you want to talk about August being the Sunday of summer? Do we?
48:27Jackie Oshry:Do we want to talk about that?
48:29Claudia Oshry:No, I don't.
48:30Jackie Oshry:think so because i just want to say like i there's a story there and i have i've literally zero beef with the people involved but like there was beef at a time there was beef at a time this is like
48:38Claudia Oshry:this is like maybe 10 years ago like actually when did we start to toast like it's an it was
48:44Jackie Oshry:the first year old so we had a conversation on the show about how like august like is obviously great because like it's summer but it does give sunday yeah it's like the sunday of the year yeah and then i think we like took that conversation to instagram and like made a little graphic I think we made a little graphic.
48:59Claudia Oshry:Yeah. Like a relatable statement.
49:01Jackie Oshry:And we got like some hate comments from people who work at Barstool, notably the CEO at the time. Not Dave. No, no. Erica, the CEO. Yeah, yeah. But when you say the CEO of Barstool. Oh, sorry. No, she was the CEO for a while. And like backstories, like we also knew her personally. She was like a friend of Olivia's. Like I actually had met her like a couple of times before this. And she accused us of copying, like stealing this concept from Chicks in the Office, which was at the time a SiriusXM exclusive show. so like you couldn't even listen to it if you wanted to so like the like the fact that she thought we had stolen it like when we actually didn't even have access we didn't have cars like when would we listen to the show and she was like leaving hate comments being like this feels original doesn't it at chicks in the office and i just want to say i we have zero beef with chicks in the office they're lovely talented women like not erica starting with us like for what and also august being the sunday of the year is not maybe they probably said it too like no it's an original thought it was original for us but like if you google it other people have like come to like it's sort of saying like january is the monday like anyone a couple of people could come to the same conclusion anyone could think of that hold on i'm looking through and like we also had like worked with her like i think the girls came on our show they came on the breath yeah yeah they had it was like such a nice relationship and i don't know why she had to like start stuff yeah she was so aggressive for that like and we were literally like 21 like and she was 40 like
50:22Claudia Oshry:leave us alone and it's just like we can all have like a parallel thought like it's not even a good thought it's like oh fine you want to claim it it's yours it's not even that funny i'm like a shame to have said it like but you said it again today it was in the copy for quince which only
50:35Jackie Oshry:proves my point somebody over there thought of it too or someone there was like trying to start
50:39Claudia Oshry:stuff with us and then you wanted us to like bring this up like oh sending love and light
50:43Jackie Oshry:to fran and ria like zero zero problems with them it was like erica like why are you starting with
50:47Claudia Oshry:us you're like an adult yeah yeah are you ready for our next story i am which is this year's next year's Met Gala theme. Oh, it's very controversial. John Galeano is the subject of the next Costume Institute show. So next year's Met Gala theme for Met 2027 will be John Galeano Horizons. So John Galeano is widely considered one of fashion's greatest since his 1984 graduation collection. He worked at Givenchy, Christian Dior. Then he had like a massive fall from grace after he was filmed saying like a really anti-semitic things at a Paris cafe like really bad really bad like like about gas chambers like yeah he's like he said I love Hitler he was talking to some people he said you would have been fucking gassed you and crazy then he like went to rehab he apologized he was very junk he said he didn't even remember saying those things he has like met with Jewish leaders throughout the years who have forgiven him and who have found his apologies to be oh I I didn't know that.
51:50Claudia Oshry:Yes. And then he went and worked for Mason Margiela and like rehabbed his like reputation in the fashion world.
51:58Jackie Oshry:It's not like so, like when somebody wears like a John Galliano, there's still like a couple of comments about it. Like it's not like people have completely forgotten. Yeah. So when I saw the video, like it's a very shocking video. Yeah.
52:08Claudia Oshry:It's not like, oh, he said like something a couple, when you see it again and you're like reminded of how bad it was. But he has like done the work. Somebody should dress up as a gas chamber. like that's to be for to be like on theme that is part of like his legacy so yes it's um it's kind of a crazy theme considering like the Met Gala and Vogue is like typically very woke no I
52:31Jackie Oshry:mean when you think about how like many people boycotted last year because Jeff Bezos paid for this philanthropic event he paid for it I'm curious to see how many people are going to boycott this one I'm sure zero people will if I'm like a frequent Met Gala goer I understand not everybody can boycott sometimes it's like the one year you're gonna be invited like i get it like i do i do even like your morals have to take a back seat but if i'm like a frequent goer like i don't think i personally like i'm obviously you know i don't think i would go yeah apparently anna met with
52:59Claudia Oshry:like a bunch of like jewish trustees and like jewish leaders and like sort of like asked for their blessing right to do him and i feel like i'm of two minds because i'm john galliano specifically and after we i didn't really follow the story when it happened and now reading like from a bunch of like big Jews who like had spoken to him and really like felt. Let me pull it up for you. I'll give you names. Name them. Name them. Name the Jews. I know the Jews who did it. Well, of course, there's like Jonathan Greenblatt at the ADL.
53:33Jackie Oshry:Oh, you know, he's a good one. You think so? I do. You think he speaks for you? I do, actually. That's enough for you? No, it's not enough. but sometimes he's like he's he i always find sometimes find him like saying unpopular things like so he's not always just saying stuff you know he's not just an agreeable like
53:51Claudia Oshry:yeah yeah sometimes sometimes yeah that but is this one of those times who knows okay but this is what he also said which i do sort of agree with he said adl accepted john galliano's apology long ago and believes he has genuinely reckoned with his past anti-semitism party but timing matters. Anti-Semitism is surging. Most recently and last week's stabbing and Jewish New Yorkers are feeling unheard by their city's leaders. As the decision is made, now it's on the Met and partners, not with token gestures around one exhibit, but with real action against anti-Semitism in the museum and across the fashion world they help shape.
54:24Claudia Oshry:It's actually extremely factual and I just want to make a prediction.
54:28Jackie Oshry:I don't know if Polymarket has a market for this, but I have a sneaky suspicion a certain elected official will be in attendance celebrating hard.
54:36Claudia Oshry:Yeah, he didn't go this past year. Right, because everyone was
54:38Jackie Oshry:like bezos whatever so it's like we're taking political we're boycotting so i i agree with him
54:43Claudia Oshry:it's like yeah maybe at the time it's just like not the time yes and then there's also a rabbi who is this person rabbi jacobs i believe i don't know who had said um i need to hear from my rabbi felt galliano sincerity when he apologized he was open he looked right at us and spoke in a clear way not as if he had memorized talking points uh so like he has been forgiven for that but i just like so it's not about Galeano for me it's about one the fact that like that Vogue and the Met
55:12Jackie Oshry:balls like so often anti-hate though like I feel like they give less fucks recently like because if they were so averse to controversy they wouldn't have worked with a Nicole Lauren Sanchez
55:23Claudia Oshry:that's true but money is money and they need money yeah they do need money um and then it also just sort of like condones and like you know sweeps away anti-semitism is just like not a like a Yeah. Like hate that we are against. No, the best point is the time.
55:42Jackie Oshry:Like, yeah, I am a person who can. I mean, Haley Joel Osment, like I genuinely forgive him. Like I actually really can like move on past people's transgressions when they've made meaningful apologies. But the timing is poor. Yeah. Extremely poor. That's really the best point.
55:58Claudia Oshry:Yeah. So.
56:00Jackie Oshry:Although like I've seen Galeano looks and like they slay the house down. They do.
56:03Claudia Oshry:And for like talking about fashion and the history of fashion and the legend. It's a meaningful. It's very real.
56:08Jackie Oshry:No, it's true. I'm at a standstill. It's just like unfortunate.
56:11Claudia Oshry:And the time just feels like it's just condoning anti-Semitism and just sort of like moving on. Glazing over it. Yeah. There feels like a glaze. Yeah. I would love a donut. Yeah. No, I need savory first. You're so weird. I need to start my day with something savory. I did.
56:25Jackie Oshry:I had a bagel.
56:26Claudia Oshry:And I haven't started my day yet because I didn't get my breakfast. And because you need to get to the fifth story. Oh, of course not. No. our fifth story is actually some major news and something that we were discussing last week that I'm so excited to like sort of follow up with you about Spider-Man brand new day
56:40Jackie Oshry:I thought you were seriously gonna start again about Joanna Rancic and I was like I can't do this story anymore why would you think that
56:46Claudia Oshry:I don't know because the way you literally I could have been talking about like we do hundreds of stories
56:51Jackie Oshry:no I thought you were doing like another Jerry O 'Connell
56:53Claudia Oshry:no I was just saying because you know we did another podcast yeah we were talking a lot about Spider-Man on the other podcast we did last week so I thought it would be like fun to say we did another podcast on What Are the Odds? The Polymarket Podcast. Spider-Man, mind-blowing debut at$355 million. The second biggest opening weekend in box office herstory. What's the first? That's a great question.
57:12Jackie Oshry:I'll be the other Spider-Man.
57:16Jackie Oshry:It's crazy that it was like the biggest movie ever. I don't know one person. Avengers Endgame. We knew that somewhere in our minds. We knew that. And that was$357 million. You just reminded me. I had bought us tickets to see The Odyssey tomorrow, but I can't go anymore. So I'll have to get a refund.
57:29Claudia Oshry:And reschedule.
57:30Jackie Oshry:When you guys buy movie tickets, we're all going to Fandango.com, right? Or is that just me? The Fandango app. No, no, no. I'm not crazy. But like, where do people buy movie tickets? I always go to Fandango.
57:42Claudia Oshry:You know what? As a husband who loves the theater. Where does he buy his tickets? I never buy them. Yeah. Because I'm never the one. He definitely has the Fandango app.
57:50Jackie Oshry:Yeah, but like there's also AMC Stubs. He's definitely one of those members of like AMC Elite or whatever.
57:54Claudia Oshry:Yeah, but I feel like if you go to like, you just need Fandango app. That's like what I used to do in my heyday.
57:59Jackie Oshry:Yeah, Fandango is like the place. right yeah i'm not just like randomly going to fandango i think it's still the place but yeah great question when you get home i'll have to get a refund now i don't even know how to do that on fandango yeah but we'll have to go another day sorry that's fine came up odyssey recap coming
58:14Claudia Oshry:later yeah um like major for spider-man like sorry i'm just like missing all this like i know
58:19Jackie Oshry:misses me it's crazy that it's like the biggest movie of the year and like not one person i know
58:22Claudia Oshry:in a personal way went to go see it yeah i didn't see anyone on my instagram posting it like it's just such a different universe like the comic book thing you know what but i guess like in a few years like this will be my world you know oh yeah get older oh that's fun like spidey and at
58:37Jackie Oshry:least i think that they're good movies like i saw the toby mcguire kirsten dunce one of course that was a quality flick it was a quality flick i still get chills from that guy who played the green goblin like that scene is very spooky when they're like on top of the bridge that's also like
58:51Claudia Oshry:joker you know that's chris yeah he's ledger i think when we do get there like the worst places to be. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think all the movies
58:59Jackie Oshry:are given like proper.
59:00Claudia Oshry:They're really good. Like people like them. So I do think like Spider-Man is in my future.
59:05Jackie Oshry:Yeah. Zendaya and Tom, like they just really like, it's actually crazy. They're currently, first of all, in the highest grossing movie and they're like the stars, both of them. They're also at the same time in the Odyssey. It's just crazy how famous they are and they're married, I think. No, they're engaged,
59:22Claudia Oshry:but. I feel like one day they will be like the absolute biggest stars in the world like Brad and Angelina and they'll be like, when did that happen it's like right now yeah right right now it's crazy yeah yeah brad and angelina but like without all the drama in love and like not crazy no drama with the plane and like bigger successes because brad doesn't have like an oscar he's not an oscar guy doesn't i don't think so i think he has one for producing he doesn't really get nominated she like doesn't really act no she doesn't act anymore but even when she i guess she was in like a couple like cult classics yeah mr and mrs smith yes he has two oscars so i just don't think it's fair to compare like zendaya's career to angelina jolie's so you're thinking that because he only recently
1:00:00Jackie Oshry:won his first one for once upon a time in hollywood and before that he had won one but as a producer because he did 12 years of slave i remember seeing him on stage with lupita so he
1:00:08Claudia Oshry:just won like he's not an oscar guy i guess tom holland probably hasn't won an oscar either but
1:00:12Jackie Oshry:he's three years old like he'll get there it's not far off yeah and like when you're doing the odyssey and the biggest movies of the year like spiderman like an oscar's in your future yeah i I don't know if Zendaya, she's definitely been nominated. Challengers, yes, last year. I did not like that movie. Just hot take. I don't know if anybody cares. I didn't see it. You would hate it.
1:00:30Claudia Oshry:Yeah. What am I going to watch next? Once I finish my book for the Redheads, I can get back to my watching. And after off campus, like where do I go from there? And I have to work within whatever apps we're already signed up, logged into on the rental TV.
1:00:47Jackie Oshry:I did get into Hulu. So Hulu is now open for you if you want it. I found the password.
1:00:51Claudia Oshry:But it will log in automatically to my TV? No, no. I can log you in. But like what if I want to log in and you're asleep? I could see that happening. I could just text you to log in. But you might need to like give a code.
1:01:01Jackie Oshry:I might need to. Well, it would actually be Olivia's husband, not me. Because.
1:01:04Claudia Oshry:I'm not logging in. I'm just saying. I'm not logging in. But I got in code free. Okay. Just saying. No. No, what are the kids watching now? What's viral? We asked people this question the other day. so it is like a little bit of a slow season yeah it's summer things pick up in a couple of weeks like Earl Meets World comes out first week of September um I feel like there was something I was gonna watch I'll remember and I'll report back well those are the past five you definitely
