In short
Football gossip and scandals. Main segments cover Pep Guardiola’s drug-ban backstory, a new twist in the Katie Price/Lee Andrews “kidnapping” saga, Evangelos Maranakis’ punch-up in Greece, and various sports/tabloid oddities (playoff prep stories, Arsenal/Champions League talk, and the “Enhanced Games” doping controversy).
Guest backgrounds
No named podcast guests; it’s a host-led discussion (The Upshot). Mentions include football figures and celebrities, but not as guests.
Key claims
- Pep’s 2001 nandrolone ban stemmed from a contaminated urine sample; the ban/criminal conviction was later overturned after years.
- Lee Andrews (Katie Price’s husband) allegedly disappeared, may have been arrested in Dubai, and is later reported “found” and in prison; the episode speculates he can’t leave Dubai due to charges.
- Lee’s Instagram activity allegedly followed “Biker Babe” (US Navy veteran) amid the disappearance, framed as possible matchmaking/another scam attempt.
- Maranakis slapped a prime-minister’s nephew during a stand-off tied to Greece’s Predator wiretapping scandal.
Notable examples
- Pep farewell party messages (Neil Warnock, Michael Jordan, Noel Gallagher, Grealish, Kompany).
- Lee Andrews’ “ice skating”/“Scarborough” videos allegedly filmed in Dubai locations.
- Marco Borriello’s STI cream leading to a cortisone doping ban.
- Enhanced Games: only one world record (50m freestyle) and widespread “medication” claims (e.g., Adderall).

On the show today, HEP's drug scandal. More insane twists in the Katie Price kidnap saga.
1:24Evangelos Maranakis' punch up in the stands. Sounds like he punched me in the throat. Yeah, he may as well have done, Jake. A bit rusty, yeah. Bit hot, innit? It is. fucking stifling it's very hot always too hot really for a workplace definitely someone could have an accident they could that wouldn't be their fault especially if it's temperatures like this yeah if you've got no aircon yeah we've got a new sponsor we won't bang on about it now there's going to be more but yeah don't we just explain that yeah our world cup content is brought to you by Injury Lawyers for you that's why JP you're wearing a plaster cast full body aren't you for the world cup I hope it I hope it cools down for next week otherwise it might get a bit fucking hot in the plaster yeah you'll get fit when are you getting fitted over the weekend you're going to have to do it for your wedding which is unfortunate just draw on a tie yeah needs must actually for Patreon listeners this is the last time you're going to hear those injury lawyers for you ads but just wanted to explain why JP is going to be an F-plastic cast for the next month and if there are any little off off gags around that so not weird like yeah right we've got we've got a lot of gossip this is an episode laden with gossip Is it caked?
2:34I'm saying caked. But I guess we should just start. But, you know, there's been a lot of farewells this week. Yeah. Mo Salah. Bye, Mo. West Ham. Well deserved. Goodbye. Hoping that's au revoir rather than goodbye, but we'll see. Sadly, not Spurs. Obviously, they stayed up, which means Arsenal aren't doing the treble. I do love that. They started referring that to the treble. It's good. It's good. I'm kind of pleased for Spurs in the end. It would have been fucking great if they'd have gone down. Yeah, I mean, they did it by the skin of their teeth, really. Yeah, you never know. Still time. Next season.
3:17But I guess the biggest is Pep, who I guess we all knew it was coming, and then it leaked out quite weirdly, but then we got the proper farewell this weekend. You see, he had a big old party. Yeah, they organized that fucking quick. Yeah, it was a bit... I don't know. Is that where you want to spend the hottest day of the year? Yeah. It was like a conference center. Yeah. It was like the live arena. Yeah. 19 ,000 people ticketed, presumably air conned. And they had like, they had quite a fun lineup of people coming on to bid the great man farewell. So we had, had a video message from both Neil Warnock and Michael Jordan.
3:55Sort of the big two. Yeah. Surely the last time they're both in a sentence together. Pep's main advisors. who's he ringing before the Champions League final Michael Jordan or Neil Warnock the Michael Jordan one was nice because Pep was like I didn't even know he knew who I was Michael invited him for a swim which is a bit weird and then it's quite nice they had like Noel Gallagher Grealish came back really Vincent Kompany no De Bruyne I don't think I saw De Bruyne maybe he's still playing yeah is it Napoli yeah I actually don't know about the one and really the fans held up nice signs they held up gracias but they spelled it I think in the Catalan way nice all very touching but I think the most touching tribute for me came from the Daily Star who made it the top story on their website it's big news just read out the headline you've gotta see her Pep Guardiola's model daughter's hottest pics from tiny bikinis to skin tight dresses they really do some fantastic journalism don't they yeah he's really gonna miss the English press.
5:00So dignified. The Pulitzer Prize has been decided this year. So for those articles, they just, they find hot girl trawl through Insta and that is the story. Yeah, you know how like we find, we're like, what's the old scandal we can dig up on someone? They're finding bikini pics. Yeah. Gotta run a living somehow. Yeah. Who's to say which is better? Yeah. Both valid forms of art. But that's the daughter who went out with Dele Alli, I realised yeah they were in a shisha bar together weren't they yeah they were pictured on the rooftop of a shisha bar which is quite sort of noughties really yeah I would not like to be the boyfriend of someone who goes home to Pep I feel like Pep would be a right kind of a dad he's very intense yeah what are your intentions what do you mean you play football why are you not training more training harder I mean Dele Alli could probably do it about that yeah true he could probably He'd do a bit of Pep, couldn't he?
5:58Doing the seating plan at the wedding and Pep's just moving the counters around really far.
6:05But I think this means that the sexy manager era is officially over because we lost Klopp and now Pep. Yeah. And in comes Slott and Maresca. Yeah. Yeah. I saw one picture of Maresca that looked like they'd quite sort of like put it through like an AI filter to give him very strong cheekbones and stuff. So they're going for the Pep look. Yeah, he's not pep. Well, Marco Silva might be on the way out for him as well. It looks like so. Zabby Alonso is quite sexy, I think. Oh, true. Yeah, that's good. We need that. You know, he's got a bit about him. Propping up the Prem's reputation. Slim pickings otherwise.
6:43I mean, Eddie Howe's a lovely fellow, but it's more sort of cuddly. I was going to say Thomas Frank's got lovely hair, but he's not sexy, is he? Yeah. And he's out of a job. He's not bad. Deserby? Oh, yeah, but the goat eats a bit weird. He reminds me of Gary Glitter with the old goat eats. Yeah, and the spiky gelled hair and like quite... I was about to say wood smash, but that wasn't how you mentioned Gary Glitter.
7:08Who else is there? Who's coming up? Frank Lampard. Oh, yeah. Eddie Howell category. He's a cuddly, teddly bear, isn't he? Yeah, but I think he... Frank's not aging that well, I think. No. Yeah, well, like, Harry Redknapp's no fucking oil painting in there. Carrick and McKenna are sort of middle of the road. Yeah, middle of the road. six out of tens I saw I saw Pep also said at this farewell he said in the next years if you see me somewhere around the world and you're a Man City fan come and hug me quite brave I think yeah might regret that I think he said that in the heat at the moment hasn't he yeah because do you remember how much he got harassed in Manchester yeah do you remember there was that guy chasing him on his bike and cornering him where he looked genuinely terrified yeah Hey Pep let me get a picture bro!
7:59Yo! Why am I smoking off yo? Yo! Yo, hey Pep! Yo nah nah you might need to see this bro. Oh my god. Yo Pep let me get a picture D. Why you running off bro? Let me get a picture bro. Just let me get a picture! I just want a picture! At that point there he's either about to flip or he's just completely given up. My G That's it My G bro That's the way he moves the bike In between him and the guy To protect himself He looks scared I mean to be honest with you It is quite scary that Yeah You're getting used to it now Since you're Since you're appearing On a Chelsea podcast You're cheating on us JP I'll never do it again You got viral haven't you I won't do it again mate It was nice to be loved For an hour though That's all I'll say For once I'll have it anyway legendary manager no idea what he's doing next he's got some token role with City's like group yeah he sounded quite a lot like he was retiring from football from some of the like tribute messages what do you think he'll do like the Klopp thing of like brand ambassador he's he's doing that for the City group isn't he yeah I feel like there might be an international job at some point he's taken breaks from the game before so we talked last week about his sabbatical in the US.
9:23But did you know he also, as a player, spent four months out the game due to a drug ban. So, this is back in 2001. He'd just left Barcelona and he moved to Brescia in Syria. Good club. Managed two games for them and then tested positive for Nandrolone, which is a banned steroid. Isn't that the one that's in like boar testicles? Yeah. I think you're right. But actually it was weird because the same week Yap Stam also tested positive for it. And the same year, Frank De Burr, who'd been at Barca, and Edgar Davids had also been done for it. So the police were really suspicious because Pep was still working with these Barcelona doctors.
10:04Yeah, wasn't it one in particular? Yeah, it was one guy. So they basically accused him of accidentally ingesting it from a supplement. So there's actually no suggestion he was trying to dope on purpose. Oh. I regret to say. They still banned him for four months, which you know quite tough but then he got convicted and got a seven month suspended jail sentence what for taking a supplement yeah wow which is mental did you get a jail sentence for doping well he got suspended so he didn't have to do time but he got a criminal conviction and suspended jail sentence i didn't realize that was a criminal offense yeah me neither i think italy at the time was having a real panic about it because of like cycling and yeah yeah yeah yeah Anyway, so Pep's always denied that he did anything wrong.
10:49Even the accidental ingestion thing, he's like, that did not happen. And over like eight years, he's got this fucking thing hanging over him. He's got a criminal conviction. Like, it's quite hard to travel and stuff. Yeah, fucking hell. And then eventually it emerges that the urine sample had been accidentally contaminated in some bungling land in Italy. Eight years later, they admitted it. So what, his sample had been? Yeah. And loads of them. and they admitted they got it wrong they overturned it all in the end the criminal conviction the ban so look he did nothing wrong I can't imagine Pep's just giving up do you know what I mean he's not gonna let that one no he was adamant yeah anyway I have heard an absolutely insane story about Pep from someone who witnessed it directly I'd already heard rumours about this and then someone witnessed it directly and I hate to be an absolute cunt about this, but this has got to be Patreon only.
11:50It's too spicy. And I can only imagine how fucking grating it is to hear that if you're not Patreon, but there's no other way of handling this. Yeah. So yeah, we've had a few messages about this before saying, do you know about Pep?
12:08Now, speaking of insane stories, absolutely insane stories, There's been another twist in the Katie Price kidnapping saga. You'll be glad to hear. So just in case anyone missed last week's episode, just over two weeks ago, Katie Price's new husband, Lee Andrews, went missing. Missing. Missing. Missing. Inverted commas. Missing presumed scammer. So you might recall Lee Andrews. He's the guy who married Katie a few days after they met. Also claimed that he'd put in a£2 billion bid to buy Chelsea. The money's there though, right? Money's definitely there. They're just waiting to process it. It's being steam cleaned.
12:47It was being steam cleaned. Yeah. Anyway, Lee and Katie were supposed to appear on Good Morning Britain together two weeks ago. Lee didn't show up. And the last time that Katie or anybody heard from him, he told her that he was trying to cross the border at Muscat in Oman. So was your right for Muscat?
13:14katie katie then released a youtube video where she explained that the last time she'd seen she'd spoken to lee he was on video call with her in the back of a van hands were bound with cable ties and he had a hood over his head which you know sounds pretty scary and it would be if it happened to you know anybody else apart from lee andrews but before you start feeling too sympathetic for him. Lee is, he's the archetype of a con man really, isn't he? Yeah. He's like, you know, um, you know, the Simpsons, the, the guy who, who really charmed Springfield and convinced them to get a monorail. Lee Andrews is basically that guy for barrel chested, heavily Botox, Dubai adjacent influencers.
14:01Um, the monorail is the monorail is his flying car company. Yeah. Which does not exist. Much like the monorail. So yeah, Lee, he's, he's scammed his several ex-girlfriends out of hundreds of thousands of pounds. He told them that he was multimillionaire. He was mates with Elon Musk, had contracts with the Royal family and Donald Trump, some US government contracts. Didn't he say he was in the Labour Party or in the government? He said he was, yeah, he was working as an advisor for the Labour Party. It was all complete bollocks. One of his girlfriends, he actually told that he was seriously ill with a heart condition and that he was planning to leave her all of his money.
14:42And he was basically treating her like a queen. He paid for this flat for her, played for a car, this really expensive engagement ring. She later found out, or she suspects, that the money that he was paying for this for was stolen from the girlfriend before her. Nothing like a good old pyramid scheme. Oh yeah, it really is. he's allegedly barred from leaving dubai after forging his ex's signature to take out a 200 grand mortgage in her name yeah it's all it's it's straight out of the the tindless windler playbook really uh but despite that katie she didn't believe any of that and fed fell head head over heels for him married him a few months ago uh i actually missed this at the time but shortly after they met, Katie tried to charge her followers$2.99 to find out the results of a pregnancy test.
15:36Follow me on Patreon. Who would charge people three quid for a bit of information they wouldn't share? What grubby operation. That is low, isn't it? It really is. Sorry, what's it? Maybe we should try that. Yeah. Find out if JP's... Find out if Zach's pregnant. we're getting jp's chlamydia test back next week exclusive to patreon with like a pixelated thumbnail
16:09um so what and so if you pay she if you pay she'd reveal whether she was pregnant or not nice she was she was not pregnant right yeah sorry to spoil the money making scheme best three quid I've spent I was better than the 20 quid I spent on Juan Bernabe's OnlyFans. Have you counted that now? I have I'm churn did you tell him that you'd quit? Did you say goodbye? I quietly churned. That's sad I thought there was a bit of a relationship building. It was goodbye one. We're still in touch I just don't want to see his cock every day we'll be in touch when we're back on tour we'll get him on for the next live show Juan Bernabe So anyway, when Lee disappeared two weeks ago, obviously the immediate thought was he's doing it again.
16:58He's run off from another girlfriend. He's stealing her money. And I've got to say that my opinion on that has not changed. And if my suspicions are true, then Lee is, he's not exactly doing the best job of going incognito. So up until last week, his Instagram account only followed one other account, Katie Price, his wife. He's got one woman. He's a one woman man. But then supposedly since his disappearance, he's been completely offline. Nobody's, he's not receiving messages from anybody. Nobody had heard from him until his Instagram account started following another account by the name of Biker Babe.
17:41who's a u.s navy veteran what do you reckon he's on the prowl well biker babe uh is known to have previously used an online matchmaking service for millionaires which sounds like catnip for lee andrews it's a match he's thinking he's thinking fucking out of it the bullseye yeah i think when he found out about that website he was just rubbing his hands yeah I quite like the idea of Lee holed up somewhere in Dubai just scrolling through this this millionaire matchmaking service and he settled on Biker Babe yep he did well they they followed each other on Instagram she has now blocked him surely with the amount of heat that Lee is getting at the minute you don't do that yeah so fucking inept yeah like get another Instagram account or something is there possibly could it be a message to Katie?
18:39Oh, what? To try and get help? He's sending a coded message. Oh, she's a biker babe. His kidnappers were like, okay, you're allowed to follow one woman. That's what we'll allow you. Biker babe it is. Kind of like sending one of his fingers to get a ransom. Yeah. Or yeah, maybe Katie was not forthcoming with the ransom money and he had to put the screws on. He had to go to work. Yeah. But yeah, I don't know if, Lee would really be able to offer Biker Babe the sort of lifestyle that she's after, presumably on this millionaire matchmaking service. So The Sun did an article last week where they revealed that Lee was, in their words, squatting in a slightly run-down villa using a burner phone to reach out to a handful of trusted contacts.
19:28Biker Babe being one of them. Biker Babe. Katie. Elon Musk. Donald Trump. Prince Andrew. his dad actually claims that he's been arrested in either Dubai or Iman. I can't, can't get my head around it. Katie's denied that. Uh, there are also some reports that Interpol, uh, after him over, I mean, take your, there's quite a few. These multiple fraud charges that he's, he's, if he's been arrested, would they, cause like the British embassy are involved. Would they not tell them? Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. To be honest, this is all too shady, isn't it? There's something fucking going on, eh?
20:07Yeah. Well, there's something up. But obviously, I mean, you've got to feel sorry for Katie, ultimately, in this. This is her husband. I wouldn't say she seemed unduly worried about the whole thing. She's been very active on her social media account. So this is one of her posts from the other day. As you can imagine, the past few days have been a lot. We're still looking for answers. But I have to say a massive thank you to at Supreme CBD UK for helping me with my anxiety. This is one big fucking pyramid scheme. Confusing pyramid scheme. I would love if this entire thing turned out to be an elaborate advert for Supreme CBD.
20:50And credit to them if it is, to be honest. Like I would have no... Have you been cable tied and thrown in a moldy Dubai jail cell? What you need is CBD gummies. Going for a highly stressful situation. really takes the edge off yeah calls from Interpol
21:12yeah it's I mean fair play to them if that if that is the case that is a mental reaction possibility yeah I think if my other half had been kidnapped you hadn't had for two weeks last time you saw them they were cable tied with a hood over their head I probably wouldn't be flogging CBD gummies no you'd be flogging injury lawyers I'd be flogging injury lawyers for you yeah the perfect i mean they'd be i mean the person they'd have been free from the kidnappers already because if you do know it's for you would have would have sorted that right out yeah i've got a feeling he's probably called them a lot before though ain't he it's what they call a time waster fucking how he's ringing again
21:53yeah um yeah if your husband has been kidnapped and you've heard nothing you're not doing brand deals like plugs are you? this is what I mean she's desperate and I feel like they're in it together yeah I think this is the big question really is Katie in on it yeah because she's plastered over every paper at the minute which is what she loves yeah that's her currency that's my theory it's all publicity stunt just for publicity yeah she denies that she probably would I don't know I don't know we'll see my other theory is that he's this Interpol thing is true Interpol are after him and he's he's basically on the run from the police but didn't he say he was being taken to like a black spot which is like black site yeah black site it's like Guantanamo it's like extra judiciary yeah there's no phone signal yeah weirdly wifi to follow biker bait yeah got a dongle she is she is US forces she's US Navy I'm with the US Navy seals she's busting me out She's flown in a dongle for him in a flying car.
23:04Yeah. But I think that the, the whole sort of kidnapping thing has his kidnapping story is basically his latest smoke screen to not admit that he is not allowed to leave Dubai because of these charges. So a few days ago, his ex-girlfriend came out and said that when it was, when they were together, she kept on being like why don't you come to the uk like you just just come and he was always finding these excuses and then eventually he messaged her and was like yeah i'm here i'm in the uk i don't want you to what you're on about i can't travel to the uk i'm in the uk and he sent this video of him he said he was ice skating with his nieces um and sent her this video this was this was last year 2025 everyone in the video is wearing face masks and somebody pointed out in the comments that is dubai mall uh and he then posted another one where watch it now he says that he's in scarborough uh which looks to me very much like he's just put a woolly hat on in his car i don't know if you know where skegness is it's leon skegness or in oscar it's out seaside i came with my jockey mate just to uh ride the horses oh man I get the heat on I'm in my mum's car so I gave the Range Rover to Stuart what does he say he gave her the Range Rover yeah so he says I'm cold you know when he goes oh someone turned the heat on it's the sniffs for me he goes skickness in winter the woolly hat he's in an underground car park in Dubai it's fucking great he's clearly narcissistic the way he talks Which is just so fucking weird.
24:48Catch me if you can without any of the glamour.
24:55But we'll keep you posted on that story. Yeah. There'll be more twists, I'm sure. I feel like he's going to keep rolling on that one. A week is a long time in Lee Andrews. Every week, there's so many twists. Yeah. All right. Weird little interlude here, but some big news actually broke just after we finished recording the pod. Some good news. Lee Andrews has been found he's alive Katie Bryce Katie Bryce has released a video where she says she's just spoken to Lee where where the hell is he not in person on on the phone so Lee this call was set up by Lee's dad and apparently Lee is currently in prison in Dubai in the Al-Aweer the same prison that Quincy promised was at actually so he said that he's he's been arrested there the Dubai authorities suspected they were being a spy.
25:48So that is... Did he finish it with, this message will self-destruct in 20 seconds? May as well have done, yeah. Katie, I think you've just broken the official secrets act. Yeah, yeah. This is the British government's biggest asset, Lee Andrews. Double O... 57. Double O zero. Double O six seven. Double O six seven.
26:15so he's a spy yeah which does which does explain the flying car because Q sort of sorted about with the flying car yeah but he's he's expecting to be let out oh really presumably the MI6 have been in touch to secure his release that's quite a that's quite a light treatment for a spy isn't it yeah yeah apparently so yeah that is that is the up that's the latest update from Katie. So he's found. He's been found. He's a spy. He's a spy. He's getting out of jail. He's getting out of jail. Is he even in jail? Is he just calling from some like rented villa in the outskirts of Dubai? Definitely. Yeah.
26:59But yeah. Well there you go. Breaking news. Breaking news from the upshot. You heard it here first. Alright. Back to the main pod. Yeah. Now our old pal Evangelos Maranakis the Nottingham Forest owner. He's had a bit of a tough season, hasn't he? I think he's been through four Forest managers. He's on number four. It's like Lee Andrews and wives. Olympiacos missed out on winning the league. Got it. And the straight-off Hormuz has been closed for a lot of the year. It's been tough. That has really damaged him, hasn't it? A lot going on for him at a minute. Poor old Vange. He's probably hoping to unwind at the EuroLeague basketball final, which was Olympiacos versus Real Madrid.
27:45Glacios. It just doesn't feel right, a basketball final. Why are we not part of that basketball thing? Like every other country, their football team seemed to be like, I saw they beat Fenerbahce in the semis as well. Famously, basketball don't go down well, eh? Yeah, because your father-in-law tried to get it going. Yeah, and failed miserably. Well, I don't think he failed miserably, sorry. Pathetic. Yeah, because it's the British Basketball League, which a couple of years ago, they put out a statement to ask all of the clubs and everyone to stop referring to BBL.
28:24Brazilian butt lift, if you're not familiar. Yeah, I guess people are into the NBA or whatever. It's a shame. I'd like to be part of this. And I'd especially like to be part of it after what happened at the final because Maranakis... Ended up getting in a fight in the stands with the nephew of the Greek prime minister. He smacked him.
28:48Everywhere he goes, something's happening. Yeah, and his shirt gets ripped. You know, his iconic big white t-shirt. So Evangelos, there's like a barrier between them, you know, like down the staircase, like a banister. And Evangelos, they're arguing, and then Evangelos leans over and slaps the guy. And the bloke responds by just whacking him. And he rips his shirt. weren't a bad little jab to be honest yeah yeah were they do they have some kind of existing beef yes or was this just yes i mean i'll get into it then basically this guy the nephew of the so there's another picture here he's got a black eye can you see oh yeah so basically the beef is that the the nephew um who's called grigoris dimitradis he was he's the nephew of the prime minister and he was his right-hand man until the scandal broke maybe last year or the year before which they call greece's watergate basically it emerged that um several very high profile figures were running a wiretapping scandal where they they used this software called predator to like track people good name for it don't call don't call yourself a predator just do so it a bit light and fluffy do you know what i mean not fucking predator they'll never spot what this program is would you like to install identity theft predator on your computer yeah doesn't sound like the best wiretapping strategy so Maranakis has got the amp well basically they used it on 87 individuals and apparently Maranakis is one of the people they spied on and to add to that Maranakis he owns a lot of like newspapers and media and his his media outlets have been piling the pressure on this guy who had to resign so they've got a beef right you know you think it might be settled in the courts yeah no if you've got beef with someone you've got to give him a quick jab yeah Yeah, punch up.
Read the full transcript
30:36A basketball game. Presumably this nephew was there supporting Olympiacos as well, if he's Greek. Yeah. Big Real Madrid. If you've got beef, you've got beef, mate. To be fair, he might be like a Panathinaikos fan. So he's just going there to bait. Yeah, anyone but Olympiacos sort of vibe. Yeah, maybe that's how it started. Yeah, I mean, I reckon that guy is probably one of the few people that can get away with that. Yeah. Because he's so high profile. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I thought also so Maranac's bodyguards eventually arrive but they're just being like alright I thought they were meant to be like really good I think it would probably look worse if they started fucking kicking his head in and actually there were police breaking it up as well so yeah I mean you'd be terrified but I'd probably go and get the yogurt yeah yeah they'll be turning up at his office on Monday morning I'm sure yeah who do you think's in the wrong in that punch up well whoever hit him first I think Maranac gives a little jab doesn't he yeah but obviously there's the backdrop of the you know spyware yeah I mean, Maranakis slaps him.
31:38Oh, yeah. And then he's the one in the red t-shirts. Yeah. Yeah. Maranakis is in his signature big white tee. You know, like Kanye used to wear this. Yeah. Yeah. Slightly different vibes. Yeah. And he gets a rip. I'm saying that wasn't his fault. Yeah. It looks to me like Maranakis is throwing the first punch, so. Yeah. But what did the guy do before? You can't go around hitting people, Jack. I would say he's had an accident that wasn't his fault. Had to work hard to get there, didn't I? You really weren't biting. Got it. I think he might have a claim. And to be fair, his lawyers have been pretty busy in recent years.
32:21So it might be time to outsource this one to another firm. Good to change it up. Yeah. Well, Vange, if you're listening, I've got just the guys for you. Injury lawyers for you. because if you've had an accident that wasn't your fault you need injury lawyers for you I don't know if I'm counting slapping someone as an accident yeah can you sue someone for that I think again that would be time wasting we'll give it a good go it needs to be an accident and it needs to not be your fault I think slapping someone maybe not if he'd fallen down the stairs maybe as well and had a broken arm then that could be
32:59yeah but it is no win no fee as well which will come to some comfort I mean I know you're a billionaire there. Yeah. Still helpful. So visit injurylawyers4u.co.uk or there's a phone number which I'll put in the episode description box. And yeah, if the accident was not your fault, you need injury lawyers for you. Get on it. Talking illegal battles, did anyone watch the playoff final at the weekend? I did not. Too hot for that. Yeah. Well, it wasn't a classic but I am pleased to say that Holt are back in the Premier League and £200 million richer by the looks of things. It looks like hole and all of the players are having a great time at the minute.
33:36I came across this photo of Oli McBurney. He scored in the 95th minute to send him up. Got a Lambert and Butler on the go. He's got a bottle of Stella. He's not drank any of his Lucas Aids. He looks like he's having a fucking great time. It looks like a Roley. Is it a straight? No, he's having a straight. And you know, you kind of get that impression that players aren't that sort of. He looks like this is a person I'd be quite scared of in a beer garden on Saturday afternoon. I think he's the people's champ. I think he's going to be absolutely golden. Have you seen the video of Olly McBurney? A fan, it is Olly McBurney, right?
34:12A fan comes up to him to ask for a picture and he ends up stamping on his phone. There's a video of it. They weren't asking for a picture. They were like taunting him. I was sorry, right, yeah. And they're filming him and then he grabs their phone and the last thing you see is just Olly McBurney's foot stamping on the phone. Screen goes black. it is good yeah he looks like you don't take no shit this guy yeah and it must have been a bit of a weird one for both sides just because of the Spygate scandal obviously it would have been a tough one to prepare for because all it was was the press just constantly asking the players about it and on the subject of weird preparations for playoff finals we had a great story in this week on the new gossip line which is absolutely popping off by the way guys 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year I am online and receiving messages from random people on the internet.
35:02And this one is from Isaac, who wrote in to say, Dear Upshot Hotline, roughly around this time last year before the championship playoff final with Sheffield United, a huge group, including a lot of the Sheffield United squad, were getting plastered in my uni pub. This was probably a week before the final, and we were expecting to see them having a quiet beer. Instead, they were taking each other's shoes off, lobbying them around the garden and a few of the group were chatting up second year university students. Tom Davis was in the mix. The lads got the worst game ever. Poor Tom Davis. He gets a lot of stick for his clobber as well, don't he, Tom Davis?
35:41Yeah, him and Cameroon. Yeah. Poor guy. He was just making conversation with some students. That's been branded worst game ever. So how did your exams go? What is it you study again? but that's not the worst bit so apparently after they left someone had taken a shit behind the beer garden telly and I should say and clarify this wasn't Tom Davies but someone had done a phantom shit in his beer garden a shit behind the TV the beer why? to be fair calling card yeah it did say in that group it was a big group including some Sheffield United so it might have been So it could have been anyone. Yeah.
36:27Apparently Rob Holding and Gustavo Hamer were there and they looked very bored and like they were babysitting the other lads as well. So they're not shitting or getting smashed. Yeah, I doubt that. I mean, they could have done a bit better babysitting, really, if there's someone... Yeah. All my money back for the baby change. I could have had a turd behind the tent when I get home. Someone could slip in that. I did do a bit of digging. they did lose 2-1 to Sunderland in that final who have just qualified for the Europa League so maybe that's karma for leaving the shit God, sliding doors yeah in the early tally that's not that's not the preparation you should be doing the week before absolutely not yeah, but I quite rate you know, it's old school yeah not the poop yeah they did just they lost yeah, but it's kind of nice in old school 90s to just go out on the pierce after yeah but just use the toilet so 90s go out on the pierce but just don't use a fucking toilet The shitting is also old school, but too old school, I would say.
37:29We had another nice one in this week as well, which goes, my mate saw Tuchel at your old haunt Kensington Roof Gardens. I love how I'm now associated with Kensington Roof Gardens, even though I can rarely get in and I don't have a membership. He said he was having a good old chinwag and a few beers on the terrace with none other than Jordan Henderson, who looked like he's definitely on the plane and that was sent in last week from James and Jordan Hendo is in the squad. Hang on, so we had a scoop about the England line-up. And we missed it. And we fucked it. Proper professional outfit, this. We've got all the scoops on fucking Biker Babe and Lee Andrews.
38:11Not the England squad. I'm meeting him to let him down gently. Do you go for a few beers? Yeah. probably not I saw Pochettino Pochettino's getting a lot of stick because he told the US players by email if they were in the squad or not really the ones that got into the squad got a video message from him like congrats and the other the ones the ones he got dropped just got an email do you reckon Tommy Tuchel took Cole Palmer for some chippy chips were the emails and videos personalised or was it just like we regret that your application was unsuccessful dear first name yeah best of luck for the future keep your cv on file hgml hasn't pulled through please do not hesitate to apply for it future with the videos at least personalized i don't know i don't know they're almost weird yeah what just like let's just say western mckenny yeah just here and the big news is you are dropped only joking you're in yeah it's like just surely it doesn't take that long to call but I think a lot of managers would not call would text or like some players used to find out on fucking CFAX didn't they yeah I mean 2Kool called everyone apparently he rang all the players that weren't in as well yeah I think it's quite nice how far are you pushing that is there anyone who's like been in an England squad I'd say the 55 squad Jesus yeah that's a long day it's a long day but like fair play to him he's not doing much else now exactly he's got points with Jordan I think that shows decency because a lot of squads will just get announced.
39:49That's how you find out. Wasn't it Glenn Hoddle, was it? Who dropped Gaza for the 98, or no, 98, I think it was. And they did that at the hotel. So they just called into his hotel room and Gaza trashed the room. Yeah, my favorite bit is Glenn Hoddle anticipating that Gaza would have a meltdown, put on soothing piano music. Didn't work. Get Mozart on, it calms him down. But he had them in a line waiting outside, like Headmaster's office. Yeah, really? Yeah. Very 90s. Anyway, we are absolutely loving the gossip line. Keep them coming in. We'll put a QR code up so that you can send those through.
40:28And a reminder of the number, it's 07354079834. Of course, maybe recording. For training purposes. Quality and training purposes. $4.99 a minute. it plus your standard network but yeah it's a whatsapp number so just yeah yeah yeah um uh coming back to the playoffs uh wrexham obviously missed out didn't they they missed out on their back to back to back to back to back to back to promotions uh and you know obviously tough news for the fans but i'm sure ryan reynolds is licking his lips because it all makes for some great TV for the Welcome to Wrexham TV series, won't it? Yeah, I can imagine it being this Instagram post of Ryan Reynolds coming out of some smoke going, we go again.
41:22Although the series does look like it's taking a bit of a new direction. We're just going to have a quick look at this clip here. I'm just Trina the Cleaner, you know? So I've worked for Wrexham Football Ground for about four years, I think. Never even been to Wrexham's ground until I started working here. and then just fell in love with the place, the people. It's like having another family. It's a really good place to work. I've only ever been to one game here, but I'm never coming again, ever, because my luck, 13 ,000 people in the stadium who sits right next to me, only my fucking ex-husband.
41:58Wow. Couldn't write it, could you? In this football club, I say I have no luck, none whatsoever. Even if I fell into a well full of cocks, I'd come up sucking me thumb.
42:10go on Trina when are we getting the Trina spin-off series I would watch it just for Trina she sounds like fucking a hoot that's great that's what that's what World War II Wrexham needed yeah bit of smart yeah it was too cute before come up suck on my fam is I'm real
42:33now it's the Champions League final this weekend this Saturday night can Arsenal do the double question on everyone's heads. I've got a feeling they will. Do you reckon? Yeah. I've got to say, if they do, the amount of Arsenal shirts around is going to be unbearable. Yeah. I don't know what it's like in the rest of the UK, but in London, it is ridiculous. We are in North London. Yeah. We are. I do really feel like visiting Rwanda now. I was out about the weekend and my girlfriend, who's not into football at all, was like, she turned to me at some point and was like, why does everyone have these Visit Rwanda shirts on?
43:10there is no way that all those people were rocking Arsenal shirts in 2020 when they were finishing 8th again knocked out in the last 32 of the Europa League by Olympiacos you're allowed to celebrate yeah I actually should say that I definitely I'm not in this camp of people hating on Arsenal fans to celebrate I'm happy for them there's a few suspects celebs and non-fans I just think that the Arsenal shirt has become a bit of an accessory now now there's definitely some friends of friends who remain remain nameless who i i know are very much like they're real like instagrammy sort of you know post pictures of their small plate dinner from above yeah and at the weekend they were like uh out in their arsenal shirts and i was like i know for a fact that none of you have ever you couldn't name an arsenal player you've narrowed it down quite a lot though yeah and for three pounds a month we'll tell you who it was but it it was like last year was low rise jeans and labooboos and this year it's a 2005 arsenal show shouting gooners at strangers in the street you two are on thin ice because did you notice last week i think we we don't fucking it was you as well no well i was being quite nice because i'm a people pleaser and uh i think we said we like estimated the size of the crowds at the parade and we had so many comments hands up i probably got the 5 000 wrong you said 5 000 my uh brother in law told me that there was over half a million people at the emirates and i just don't believe that that was that's true i reckon maybe a hundred thousand 50 to 100 yeah we've done it again there wasn't half we're not being salty we're just thick yeah all right do you know clive martin the the writer he tweeted calling it arsenal brat summer which i really like it really is it's just Everywhere you go.
44:58But anyway, big game at the weekend. Up there, I would say, it's one of the biggest games of any of these players' careers, for sure, Champions League final. Nobody will want to miss out, which was the fate that befell AC Milan striker Marco Borrello back in 2007. So if you rewind a few years from that point, Marco, he was living the dream, really. He was playing for AC Milan. who's dating the Italian playboy model, Belen Rodriguez. And the two of them, two big celebs, footballer and a playboy model, they became a real tabloid obsession in Italy, partly because of their supposedly ravenous sexual appetites.
45:42So Marco told the press around this time, Sex, it is very important to me because I'm a passionate. I'm lucky to know that if I want it, I can have it at any time I want. which apparently he could, because he claimed that him and Belen shagged 37 times a day. Mate, you'd have a very sore Belen. That is not good. We've heard some pretty ludicrous figures, and that's right up there. It's more than twice per waking hour. Yeah. That's just, you never part. You never stop. Just always. Yeah. How do you even really define the different times there? Yeah. You can tell we're absolute stallions. you know the more you know the mormon thing where they like they think it's it doesn't count if you're if you don't like you don't thrust it's called soaking so you're you penetrate and then just leave it yeah and then you just leave it there for a while no motion because some mormons think that's like not not losing your virginity and why are they doing this is to like elevate themselves religiously no they just want to have sex and this is as far as they can get right don't they get their friends to jump on the bed so that yeah i think so you So you go in and you get your friends to jump up and down.
46:54So you're not thrusting, but it's still going in and out. That is mad. So I reckon maybe he's soaking, he's marinating. Maybe that was it. Marinating is a good way to describe that situation. Yeah. I'd start 37 times. It's just a mental claim. I don't think it's possible. But however Marco was choosing to do his business, it did come back to haunt him when he contracted an STI in December 2006. It's obviously a bit of a nasty situation for him. But Belen, his girlfriend, recommended that he use this penis cream, this ointment to ease the inflammation. And Marco, he didn't hesitate. He lathered it all over his presumably red raw trunk.
47:45Unfortunately for Marco, that knob cream turned out to have cortisone in it, which was a banned substance. And he was drug tested and tested positive and ended up being banned for the rest of the season. That's a fucking funny way to get banned. Which meant that he missed the Champions League final when Milan beat Liverpool. They avenged their 2005 final loss. You'd be absolutely fuming. Yeah. That is amazing. The knob crew. Red Royal Bell End and you can't play in the Champions League final. Is anyone starting to rethink Pep's whole drug ban saga?
48:23maybe he's been on the old fucking cream has anyone checked his medicine cabinet that is a mental way to get done for doping wow yeah it must be pretty good all because you were just standing there stationary while andrea pierlo jumped on your mattress
48:39yeah so he missed the game doesn't miss the game he missed the game uh i don't know well if you've played in the competition you get a medal right i don't know if yeah Happened quite early though, December. It was December. I think he wasn't tested till later, I think. Does steroid cream fix STIs, JP?
48:57Usually you need quite a long dose of antibiotics, I'll be honest with you. You shouldn't be just going straight in for the creams. I think the cream might have been more for just, you know, the soothes. Well, you have 37 times a day. Yeah. Just get a bit of sidocrine on it. Yeah. Yeah. You tell him, JP. as for Belen Rodriguez she is she is still a going concern in Italy her and Marco did sadly split up not long after the the penis ointment debacle irreconcilable differences yeah yeah but do you remember when was it maybe a month ago we did this story about we showed a clip from Italian TV it was one of Silvio Berlusconi's old TV channels where Belen she was wearing very low cut dress and was pouring water down her leg while the TV host drank it off her fur yeah this is her
49:58why is he licking his hair? if you watch it slowly you see his eyes just roll into the back of his head in ecstasy didn't have to lick your hand after that was really intense national TV yeah but it's Perla Sconey's channel it's what he would have wanted because she's sort of like a Wanda Riccardi super wag now we've talked a lot about doping today funnily enough and it was the Enhanced Games on the weekend anyone watch? no not a second of it I'm not sure many people did apparently it was a massive flop so there were 42 athletes only one world record got broken which was the 50 meter freestyle swim and apparently even that is in doubt so according to the Guardian some accounts have noted that the Greek swimmer who broke the record appeared to touch the wall after his time showed up on the clock on the clock suggesting you can't really do that suggesting it's not a world record wasn't his time I think I don't know if it's he has dismissed it and the Enhanced Games have dismissed it as completely unfounded internet drivel.
51:17So, you take the pick. They would say that. People in glass houses. Yeah. Speaking of internet drivel. But that was the only world record. Fred Curley won the 100 metres. Beforehand, he predicted the world record would be destroyed. He did it in 9.97. His personal best is 9.76. so his time in the enhanced games would make him the second fastest high schooler in Texas and he got 250 grand for that did you see that? it was so vulgar they had all of the winnings next to their placements it's like someone got like 70 grand for posting like a nearly an 11 second sprint yeah so he ran 10.8 which is slower than a lot of high school men and he got 20 grand for it every other runner in that 100 meters apart from the winner ran over 10 seconds which means they're all outside the automatic qualifying for the Olympics mental so there was shit the guy who won wasn't even doping he's banned for missing three drug tests right he says he's not doping for it well and now he goes clean and I for one believe it just got a sore knob I mean you might as well get back on the horse mate yeah exactly what I quite like is they gave stats on what percentage were on each drug really 62 % were on adderall what is it for headaches it's um adhd it's a study drug but it makes it's a stimulant right which might explain why there were three full starts at 100 meters just wait to the fucking gun they're all absolutely off the charts the women's 100 meter winner tristan evelyn ran it in 11.25 which would have seen her out in the heats of the world championships last year.
53:05Fucking hell, what drivel. Yeah. So it's almost like doping doesn't help. Yeah, maybe. I mean, one world record out of all of it. I enjoyed this. Yahoo, this is their description, Yahoo News. 42 mediocre athletes underwhelmingly competed in a parking lot of a Las Vegas casino for an event without a cable broadcast partner. And yeah, it's safe to say the markets agreed because the parent company of the Enhanced Games saw their share price fall 54%. Isn't it something to do with the PayPal Mafia or something? Peter Thiel backs it. Peter Thiel, yeah. He's a bit sketchy, that guy, isn't he? Yeah, well, I saw over the weekend he was playing a chess tournament in Argentina.
53:46Right. So he wasn't even there. No, he beat a 12-year-old. Was he on Adderall too? Yeah, presumably on... Oh, stick him on our libel list this week. this could be the last one we ever do isn't he the guy who sued Gorker as well brilliant but because we buckle up one of the richest and most litigious men in the world
54:14is that the alternative to the enhanced games is just playing against 12 year olds yeah they do that in the next one because I think we were saying before that basically have rumbled the fact that DealHards Games is just a launchpad for their like supplement brand, which this is not good press for them. No. Presumably. No. Hence why the share price fell. Yeah. 54%. I'd love to see it. That's almost as bad as my last business actually.
54:47I don't know. Your share price might fall after this episode, mate. You might have no, might be nothing left. short the shot
55:03speaking of world sports tournaments Berlin are bidding to host the Olympics oh fuck soon which you know they haven't had it for a while yeah specifically since the 1936 Olympics also known as the Nazi Olympics where it was all about Hitler wow what year do you think they're bidding to host the Olympics is it the 2036 it fucking is it's happening again oh shit here we go again yeah the 100 year anniversary oh god to be fair they're bidding for that and the two after well they're weighing up a bid right but we know what the preferred is well my advice to them would be just yeah four years yeah 2040 2040 lovely yeah right that's probably a nice place to to call it end of an episode that was a fun one um thanks a lot thanks JP Pleasure as always Thanks a lot Thank you for watching listening imbibing the upshot which is of course sponsored by Injury Lawyers for you See you next time
