In short
The episode is a comedic “scandal XI” roundup of France’s 2010 World Cup squad, arguing the team “imploded” through overlapping off-field allegations, feuds, and misconduct. Guests/players profiled include Hugo Lloris (2018 World Cup winner; London drink-driving arrest with twice the limit and vomit in the car), Éric Abidal (affair with PSG midfielder Kheira Hamraoui; her masked attack; SIM linked to him; later accused of illegal organ/liver purchase—case dropped), Patrice Evra (2024 suspended jail for unpaid child support; 2021 Sky Sports comments speculating about Wilfried Zaha and David Moyes’ daughter), William Gallas (autobiography feud with Samir Nasri; claims Nasri’s camp tried to ambush him with a taser), Frank Ribéry (2010 brothel client list; underage escort Zahia Dehar; later bullying Johan Gourcuff), Mathieu Valbuena (2015 blackmail video plot involving Karim Benzema and Karim Zanetti), Johan Gourcuff (blamed for squad problems; “bookworm” target), Sidney Govou (brothel client at Café Zaman), Thierry Henry (handball that knocked Ireland out of the 2010 playoff), Nicolas Anelka (mutiny after alleged abusive outburst; squad strike; sent home).
Key claims
the manager Raymond Domenech allegedly used astrology for selection; France’s group-stage collapse is framed as the culmination of these dramas.
Notable examples
the France team bus strike; Domenech’s “Scorpios/Leos” superstition; Benzema’s blackmail conviction (2021).

40It's time to raid some wrong-uns. And this week we're looking at France's 2010 World Cup squad. For Africa. For South Africa. Yeah, because that squad was absolutely full of them. From illegal organ harvesting to sex tape blackmail, meet the mutinous French mob who had a meltdown in South Africa. Welcome back to the Upshot. Sponsored by injury lawyers for you. Yeah. Welcome to the third part of our series, ranking the most scandalous World Cup teams of all time. Last time it was England 2006. Before that we did Brazil 2002. But this time it is France 2010. Yeah. that side that famously imploded went on strike and we're going to be picking a line-up of 11 wrong-ins from the squad and then we'll see how they fare against the English and the Brazilians.
34We certainly will. What I'd say about this team is, yeah you get the odd vanilla one, but there are a few that are so mental the English and the Brazilians can't top so. Yeah, the scandals here are pretty mega, the ones that are in the squad so. Even the manager? The manager's fruity as hell. Right, who's first? We are kicking things off with Hugo Lloris, the goalkeeper, who was appearing at his first major tournament for France in 2010, tender age of 24. He's actually the only man from this squad who also played at the 2018 World Cup when they won it. And it's actually from an instant after that tournament that he makes this list.
12So 40 days after he lifted the trophy with France, Hugo was out celebrating at a nice restaurant in London with a couple of friends. And obviously Hugo, he'd just become a national hero in France. And when a couple of Frenchmen in the restaurant spotted him, they, in his words, showered him with drinks. I'm going to let Hugo's attorney tell the rest of the story. By 2am, Hugo was completely drunk. At that moment, he should have left his vehicle where it was. But as Mr. Lloris pointed out to me, when you're drunk, you're most likely to make mistakes. The defence rests, Your Honour. Exactly. He certainly does that because in the hours, in the early hours of the morning, police catch Hugo veering across Gloucester place in Marlebone, doing some pretty dangerous speeds.
03He notches up 15 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone, which, you know, when you're traveling that far, that slow, on a faster road that can cause chaos. You're a hazard. Yeah, you're a hazard. He also goes through a red light. Is that, so the only reason he got pulled over is because he was driving so slowly. He was going too slowly. like sometimes you see these videos of like old grannies on like motorways doing 25 in the like slow lane and it's like it's actually causing chaos that is Hugo Lloris around Marilobone in the early hours of the morning. Either that or he was curb crawling but I'll leave that to people's imagination Is it a red light or a red light district?
42He's going through a red light. Oh okay Let's give him the benefit of the doubt. No evidence of that. Hugo seems like a lovely chap sort of apart from the old drink driving uh police don't think that anyway because they arrest him and find him twice over the limit and in case they needed any more evidence than that there was also vomit all over the footwell of his car um i'd say there are spicier wrongens on this list but he's the most scandalous keeper that we've had so far yeah he beats david james and dita definitely hands down okay what's your what's your wrong and rating i mean i think uh The vomit in the footwell is upgrading it a little bit.
18So, and he's just so slow. I can't stand slow drivers. They're getting right in the way. Yeah, it's really inconsiderate. Yeah, that's the worst bit for me. So I'm going 6.9. 6.9. Out of 10. I'll take that. It's a one-off incident. I hope. All right. Well, if you want spicy next, then try our left back on for size. It is former Barcelona defender, Eric Abadal, who has two incredible scandals. Firstly, in 2021, he was caught having an affair with the PSG women's midfielder, Kira Hamraoui. She's the one who got attacked. Yeah. I mean, it's the way the affair came out that is most crazy about this.
55So she basically got dragged out of a car on the way back from a team dinner and beaten by these masked assailants. They whacked her legs with iron bars. Terrifying. And as the attackers beat her, one of them scolded her for sleeping with married men. and police then look into this angle of inquiry and discover that Kira Hamraoui's SIM card is registered in Eric Abedal's name. Wow, the smoking gun. Yeah, he's the sporting director at PSG at this point, so kind of her boss. He's married as well. It also turns out that they've been talking for a long period of time on the phone, on her call records, and actually there's no proof that the affair had anything to do with the attack, but when the cat goes out of the bag, obviously Eric's wife is pretty livid.
45Understandably. As you would be. She files for divorce. Eric is forced to beg for forgiveness on Instagram. He writes, I deserve this humiliation, even though it kills me alive. Thank God. God willing, one day you'll forgive me. And then he chucks in this hashtag. Hashtag love you to the moon and back. That's a long hashtag. Yeah, it's a bit Clinton cards, I think, for the circumstances. Yeah, also just apologise in person. Yeah. I don't want my apologies by hashtags. Yeah. And I think I don't want to have to search Instagram trending to find the apology. Yeah. Go through all the Valentine's posts and the proposals just to find Eric probably still not the worst accusation he's faced though, because Eric was also accused of trafficking human organs in 2018.
31Told you there was some weird stuff in this one. So do you remember he had to have a liver transplant? It was a serious thing. and he went through quite a lot to get a new one. And he then received a liver transplant from a man that he described as his cousin. Right. I remember this, yeah. Yeah. But then later on, police were wiretapping the phone conversations of Barcelona executives over a separate matter. You know, there's all this sort of investigation into Barcelona. I think it was that. And they record the club president, Sandro Rossell, discussing, and this is a direct quote, the purchase of an illegal liver for Eric.
12That's pretty suspect, isn't it? Yeah. So I don't know if that's sort of like, can you get on the dark web? And I don't know what a liver goes for on the dark web. Honestly, I've never bought one. No. To be honest. I bought kidney, obviously. Everyone has two. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because, so what is this? They're basically suggesting that they found this guy online, got him to pretend he's Eric's cousin and bought a liver off him. Harvested his organs. Harvested organs. Is this the sort of thing like you go to Turkey for a hair transplant and wake up and Eric Albert has got your liver? I think so, but you've got a great lid.
47So the Spanish prosecutors actually look into it, suggest he may have illegally purchased it. I should say that case was dropped. And as far as we know, this man is Eric's cousin. So this is the rap sheet you're dealing with. Accused of harvesting a liver. probably clear but accused by his own boss yeah and then definitely had an affair with someone who happened to be attacked I think he's got to be higher than Hugo Lloris I'm going to give Eric Abadar a 7.7 it's difficult because if the organ trafficking thing is I mean he was cleared of organ trafficking so we have to assume so we have to assume guilty until proven no innocent until proven guilty maybe 7.2 I think 7.7 is right because he was still he was also seemed like a lovely guy.
35Knobbing a player. He was the boss. Yeah. Sporting director and knobbing a player is quite a big deal. That's a pretty big deal. I'm going to upgrade that maybe to an eight. Yeah. All right. Next up at centre-back. This guy, I'm actually playing him out of position, but you know, we need to cram him in. And it is former Man United man Patrice Evra. He obviously had an incredible career. Five Premier League titles, two Scedettos, Champions League, and presumably he also made an awful lot of money during his career. but that didn't stop Patrice getting a suspended jail sentence in 2024 for abandoning his family and failing to pay 800 grand in child support to his ex-wife.
15So after the verdict, you know, he's got a suspended jail sentence. Evra responded like, you know, any sane person would, like you or I would react by posting a video of himself dancing around to Tupac with handcuffs and orange jumpsuit and one shoe on why one shoe
58they said let me shut down this rubbish news look how much i I enjoyed myself in prison. Madness. Yeah. California love is about getting out of jail, isn't it? Is it? Tupac is his bit. Okay. Quite mental response. Yeah. It's, yeah. I mean, he's just been, just got suspended jail. It's quite, quite mad. I think he said it's because everyone was texting him saying, apparently you're going to jail. Oh, right. I mean, that's not a defense, just an explanation. Anyway, that's actually not his only infringement because I've got another one for you. Back in 2021, Patrice was on punditry duty. live on Sky Sports and he was asked about Wilfred Zaha you know why did it not quite work out for him at Man United and he decided that was a good time to speculate about the long circulating online rumours that Wilfred Zaha had shagged David Moyes' daughter I think what's real in Sky at Manchester United is why he had this true true affair with David Moyes' daughter because I remember the pre-season he was playing every game when that new come out out of the game and he disappeared but what a player and he can finish he would be a massive trade for United and I think he would put him in front because he also don't want him to have too much defensive power and just get fresh to attack United and try to hurt United most of the time he can and as you said we don't know the background to that story so probably best leave that one just for now Graham Souness is laughing so much I'm pretty sure later on as well they apologize to david moise and his family i really just imagine the producers in the background just like it's live what was he thinking um yeah i'm a fan i'm a fan of patrice yeah i am but then again 800 grand of unpaid child support not great he's got a sense of humor about it he's definitely got a sense of humor about it but i think it pushes you wrong and score up it probably does it probably does I'm going seven and a half 7.5 yeah I mean jail sentence higher than higher than Lloris but yeah definitely higher than Lloris alright joining Patrice at centre back is former Arsenal star William Gallas who's look he's not done an awful lot wrong he's not had a jail sentence or any organ harvesting rumours that I know about anyway but he did contribute to the very bad vibes in this French squad during qualifying when he published his autobiography and slagged his Arsenal and France teammate, Samir Nasri, right off.
32So he described him as insolent in the book. And Nasri, in response, did the grown up thing and refused to speak to him for an entire season. It's quite mad to write that about your own teammate while you're playing together. Well, what comes next is far more mad. So according to Gallas, their feud got so bad that Nasri and his associates tried to ambush him with a taser. I should say Samir Nasri denies this, but Galas says that the night before the French squad were meeting up for a training camp, he was approached by one of Samir Nasri's friends, who he recognised from the Arsenal training ground, and the guy said that he would like to have a word with him.
14He said he could see Samir Nasri sitting in a car down the road, and when he looked down into the guy's bag, he could see a taser. Oh my god. That's pretty... God, they do hang out with some Roggins, the French squad, as we'll get on to. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, obviously Nasri denies that. While we're on him, actually, only right to give him an honourable mention. He didn't make the 2010 squad. Possibly because of this. It's because he's staking out the car park with blokes on with tasers and threatening his teammates. Possibly. Maybe it's just the falling out. Maybe it's the insolence that cost him his place.
50But you certainly had the odd scandal, like in 2016, when he fell ill while on holiday in LA. And he decided to get one of those multivitamin drips that celebs get. So this company called Drip Doctor sent someone round, hooked him up to an IV drip and pumped him full of vitamins. And then obviously they're buzzing about having a celebrity client. So they tweeted this photo of him with his drip doctor. And they said, we provided Samir Nasri a concierge immunity drip to keep him hydrated and healthy, blah, blah, blah. Nice pick of them together. and then a response came from samir nazari's own twitter account which read you also provided me a full sexual service too right after so guys make sure you get the service this whore comes and fucks the same night which wow that's very very uh very honest samir yeah well the the tweets continued sorry i'm a terrible person and human being who has no loyalty to anyone including my family or girlfriend of four years happy new year he later explained i've been hacked um i mean much speculations rife about the culprit I'm not sure whether he did shag the drip doctor but it is believed it was his ex-girlfriend I mean that makes a lot of sense yeah she actually had a history of some quite spicy tweets oh really yeah but it gets worse for Sam here sorry we're not done because the posts catch the attention of anti-doping officials who do some digging and they find out that his drip contains 10 times the allowed dose and he fails a drugs test and gets a 12 month ban wow which basically that was basically the end of his career wasn't it it was yeah yeah so rough old time for Samir Nasri he's not in the squad so no rating for him so we're rating we're rating Galas we're rating Galas he was sort of a victim of Nasri right he kicked it off he kicked it off with the autobiography I don't think he's done too much wrong I think snagging a few teammates in your book is probably not great for team vibes I'm going to give Galas a 6.2 quite high but we'll take it yeah William Gallas actually pops up again being quite nasty to a teammate during the 2010 World Cup so yeah your rating's about about right I'd say who's at right back at right back completely in my back line it's another Arsenal ex-Arsenal player actually right back Bakary Sanya who again he's not really done anything wrong he's by all accounts a lovely fella Bakary Sanya but I did enjoy this clip of Chris Kamara trying to say his name Sakari Banga, Bakary Sanya nearly brought down Punchin as well for a penalty, but they took the corner and nothing came of it.
32Sakari Banga back in the starting line-up today for the first time in seven games. Whatever his fucking name is. I mean, how dare Bakary Sanya embarrass a national treasure like that? Exactly, that is what he makes the list for, for having a complicated name that poor old Cammy couldn't manage. All right, 10 out of 10. Next.

28This one's not quite as bad as Bakri Sanya, but all jokes aside, he might be not just the worst of the lot, but possibly one of the worst blokes in football. is, of course, Frank Ribery, who I've stuck in on the left wing. An undoubtable wrong-un. Mainly because in April 2010, exactly two months before the World Cup began, French police busted a Parisian nightclub where a high-end prostitution ring was operated. And they revealed that a regular client of theirs was Frank Ribery, along with Hatem Ben Arfa, Sidney Govu, Karim Benzema, and Frank Ribery's brother-in-law. yeah nice these are big names in the French squad yeah yeah I mean also just popping down the brothel with your brother-in-law is quite your brother-in-law yeah it was it was Easter huge scandal I wouldn't have leveled such accusations at Ribéry were it not for the next fact it transpired that Benzema and Ribéry had been soliciting sex from an underage escort Zahia Dehar yeah she says they didn't know her age but she reveals that Frank Ribéry flew her out to Munich as a birthday present to himself.
39That is seedy. Grim. So bearing in mind this all went down in April 2010, it's quite surprising he made the squad, I suppose, given the sort of details of the whole thing. And you thought, given all that, he might be on his best behavior when he got to South Africa. But instead, he teamed up with William Gallas and Eric Abidal and spent the tournament bullying their midfield compatriot, Johan Gorkov. So the French media had basically said that Gorkov was the new Zidane. And Frank and a few other players got quite jealous of all this positive attention. And they later said they regarded Johan as arrogant and pretentious because he expressed himself eloquently.
19And apparently the thing Ribery hated about him the most was that Johan liked to read books rather than, quote, partaking in the rest of the squad's off-field behavior. I think when your off-field behavior is popping down the brothel with your brother-in-law, then I don't think you can... have a go at someone else for enjoying a quiet, quiet book. Gorkov, you little fucking nerd. Yeah. Why aren't you down, down with us? Yeah. Yeah. He's a horrible man, isn't he? It's a 10 out of 10. Yeah. Slam dunk 10 out of 10. Yeah. The bullying for the books. Bullying, bullying little bookworm, Johan Gorkov is, he never really fulfilled his potential, did he?
01No. Do you think that's, is it because of the bullying? Is it because he spent too much time with his nose in a... Of mice and men. Yeah, exactly. Possibly. We'll come round to him. Yeah. Actually, speaking of sex scandals, in Centre Mid, we've got Mathieu Valbuena. He was at the centre of an absolutely crazy story in 2015. So that summer, Mathieu, he was at the French National Team training camp and he received an anonymous phone call. And this mystery caller told him that he'd got hold of a video of Mathieu and his girlfriend having sex. which he would release unless Mathieu paid him off. Shortly after that, Mathieu, he had a knock at his bedroom door at the France camp and in came Karim Benzema, our old friend, who it turned out knew the caller.
53The caller was a convicted criminal called Karim Zanetti, who was an old childhood friend of Benzema's. And Benzema passed on a chilling message to Valbuena. He said, be careful, Matt. They are big, big thugs. So he later insisted that he was just trying to help Valbuena. You know, just be careful, Matt. But the police did see it differently, largely because they'd secretly recorded Benzema recounting the conversation he'd had with Valbuena to Zanetti, the blackmailer and telling Zanetti do not worry he has no choice I'll make him understand he'll pay that was quite damning it's pretty damning in the end though it was Benzema who paid who paid the price because in 2021 he was found guilty of conspiracy to blackmail and was handed a one year suspended jail term and a 75 ,000 euro fine he also was out of the France team for a long time because of that.
59Is this why he wasn't there in 2010? No, that was because of the sleeping with an underage escort. That'll be the other one. No, this wasn't until 2015 that he did the old blackmail. Obviously, yeah, Benzema is the actual wrong-in in this story, but he's not in the squad because of the old, you know, the bad thing. So he got the punishment, but Rebri didn't, interestingly. Yeah, weirdly. Rebri was very good. at football. Yeah. Yeah. I guess that's why. I mean, probably. Yeah. I mean, Benzema wasn't bad himself on his day. As with Valbuena, he managed to get through the whole ordeal without anybody getting hold of his blue movie.
44Although, I do think he probably wishes that he'd paid off whoever took this picture of him. So, I mean, he looks four foot high. He's standing next to Fellaini and company, Van Son Company, who I guess are very tall. He's five foot six, I think. Yeah. He looks four foot there. Yeah. So what are you saying for being the victim of a blackmail plot? Is he? Because all he did was film himself having sex with his girlfriend, presumably consensually. I think the way it all panned out is because he took his phone to be repaired and one of the guys on it was a bad. I found the tape, bro. I mean, obviously Benzema's a 12 out of 10, but he's not in the squad.
24Yeah. I do think the team rating should factor in these guys who were like in the periphery who didn't make the squad because their scandals were so bad they had to be dropped that's got to be factored in I don't think Valbuena's done anything wrong, I think he's like literally a 1 out of 10 isn't he yeah I can't, as far as I know he's a nice innocent chap, so yeah we've got to complete the midfield and it's a man we've mentioned already it's Mr. Johan Gorkov Now, based on what we've heard about Frank Ribery, it's pretty easy to think that Jain's not really done anything wrong. He seems like a nice guy, just likes curling up with a book.
03Nice novel in the evening. Innocent victim of bullying from Ribery, Gallas and Abidal. But that's why you're dead wrong. Because after France crashed out of the 2010 World Cup in the group stage, some media put the blame squarely at Gorkov's door. So here's a headline. the headline is the root of France's problems hatred of Johan Gorkov it was that little nerd that bookworm so that is the problem everyone he's just too much of a annoying little twat if you weren't there annoying me then I would never have mutinied and cost my team a World Cup campaign seems a little harsh yeah but I mean it seems like there's a lot of mounting evidence against Johan Gorkov being a source of irritation.
53You team Rubri Abidal and Galas, are you? The first time I've said I'm team Rubri. Yeah. How do you rate that? How do I rate Paul Rods, Johan? Well, I suspect that he's actually quite annoying judging by all of this. So I'm going to, I don't think he's particularly wrong, but for just being a bit irritating, it's a five. Sorry, Johan, no smoke without a five. and while we're at it Samuel Nasri is quite insolent so now if you've been bullied by your teammates like Johan who presumably got wedgied by by yeah Eric Abidal or nearly drowned being swirlyed in the Clairefontaine box then you know you might have been seriously hurt yeah or actually incidentally if you've had your liver pilfered from you as you slept in your dormitory bed in the night again you may be entitled to compensation you probably would be you probably should be It's worth a try.
50And if so, got just the lawyers for you. It's injury lawyers for you. The personal injury lawyers who fight for you. And it's no win, no fee, which is more than you can say for Green Benzema's enforcement services. Yep. He's definitely here. Yeah, there's a fee involved. Oh, definitely. So check them out. They're our World Cup sponsors. Okay, moving on. On the other flank, I'm going to stick in Mr. Sidney Govu for the pure fact that he was also a regular customer at the same brothel as Benzema, Ribery, Atemben, Arthur. Ribery's brother-in-law. Yeah. So in his defense, it seems that he did stick to sex workers that were around the same age as him, which is...
36Cool. So that's lowering the rating. That's lowering the rating, but it's a seedy place. As I recall, this brothel is called Cafe Zaman, and in the day, it's like a coffee shop. And maybe it's a shisha bar. Yeah. Only in Paris, right? Yeah. I'm just wondering, is Sidney Govo just popping in for a little... He's going for a little... Was that? Yeah. Yeah. Just happened to be there at the wrong time. Yeah. I don't know. It sounds like he did partake in the... Yeah. What did we... What did we... The England players who were sort of out in brothels, we were sort of... Like you weighed maroonies and stuff.
10I think we were giving them... Yeah, they were getting pretty high on the... I'm going to go higher because it means he was hanging out with Ribery Benzema, who's a bit of a low life. Yeah. And the brother-in-law. So eight? Okay. Chuck an eight in. All right. Okay. Up top, it's the strikers. And keeping Karim Benzema out of the squad is, of course, Thierry Henry, who committed a different kind of crime. He committed daylight robbery in the build-up to this World Cup because he, of course, stole Ireland's place at the tournament with one of the most disgraceful handballs you'll ever see in the playoff tie as he set up the winner.
51It really was. So you remember France needed to win the playoff against Republic of Ireland to book their spot in South Africa. And yeah, he just controlled the ball with his hand. It was outrageous. I remember this. Also someone who I think, certainly for English football fans, was seen as a real gentleman. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And also for Ireland, haven't got to a World Cup since 2002. and you know it's not often that they get getting to the playoffs pretty one game from the tournament it's heartbreaking for them yeah safe to say there was a bit of an uproar back on the Emerald Isle here is the front page of the Irish Sun the hand of frog Thierry the thief robs us of World Cup dream Henri Bastille it's good stuff I mean it it was horrific it was it was it was straight up cheating wasn't it yeah score him I'm going to score Thierry for that incident apart from that he's a lovely guy so I'm going to give him a seven seems about fair okay completing the team we've still got the manager afterwards by the way he's got the manager to come who is good but completing the eleven on the pitch we have of course Nicholas Anelka who gained infamy in this tournament before kicking off the mutiny that struck the French squad and derailed their whole campaign.
19So it all began when Anelka was subbed off at half-time of their second group game, at which point he let out what was described as a foul-mouthed tirade at his gaffer, Raymond Dominic. So he allegedly screamed, Go fuck yourself, you son of a whore! at Raymond. Hard to come back from that. Yeah, to the boss, it's not not great afterwards he refused to apologize and the following day he was sent home from the french camp and then things went nuclear so in solidarity with nicholas the rest of the squad decided they would go on strike so famously they sat in their team bus and refused to come out to train got a picture of them here journalists gathered outside it's just absolutely mad thing to do.
08It's the most infamous image of this entire disastrous campaign. Why the bus? Just don't leave the hotel. Yeah, just line yourself up in front of all the journalists. Whilst on board, they drafted a letter, which I'll just read out. All of the players without exception want to declare their opposition to the decision taken by the FFF, French Football Federation, to exclude Nicolas Anelka from the squad. All the players? All the players went on strike. Can't help feeling that maybe poor old Johan Gorkov was bullied into signing that petition. He had his head halfway down the toilet on the coach while Samuel Nasri copied out his signature.
52Yeah, but that was an absolutely mad, mad moment at that World Cup. Eventually, the French players did emerge. They played their final game, which they lost 2-1 to the host, South Africa, which left them rooted to the bottom of the group and out of the World Cup. I feel like everyone that we've mentioned for taking part in this mutiny should get plus one to their score for going for this, for going on this strike. So it's an 11 for Bakary Sanya. It's an 11 for Bakary Sanya. Maybe Gorkov doesn't get the old extra one. He signed. He signed. He did. Yeah, I think when we get to the team score at the end, I think the way it all pans out has to be taken into account.

36Yeah. yeah also can I just say I shout out to poor old players like Marc Planus who I have to say that I've never heard of but he was in the France squad only appearance that he made only time he made a squad for France at a major tournament and he got roped into a bloody meeting yeah never played yeah that's pretty gutting so I guess Anel because to blame for that I mean you have to ask if the entire squad is saying it true was it the manager at fault but on the other hand we've just talked about the squad they're absolute wrong what this lot yeah yeah I'll take their word so secondly I think Nicolas Anelka has basically said words to the effect of fuck yourself you son of a whore to pretty much everyone who's ever managed him yeah he's always leaving clubs probably pretty much anyone he's ever met yeah so that's got to be factored in I think he's a seven yeah same as Thierry Henry yeah I can't get past the cheating I think it's disgraceful.
38All right. I'd maybe go 7.5 just because I feel like he's sort of, I imagine he stirred it up in the camp as well. And he caused France to get knocked out on the group stage. All right, yeah, seven and a half. Now, you're probably wondering what sort of gaffer could oversee a side ripped apart by blackmail, mutiny, and possible organ harvesting. Well, Raymond Dominic was a pretty fruity character. he relied on astrology to guide his team selection. So he apparently had a particular distrust of Scorpios, which cost Robert Perez dozens of caps. He just wouldn't pick him. And he also left Leos out of the French defense.
21So Michael Sylvester suffered on those grounds. So Dominic actually explained it. He said, when I've got a Leo in, I've always got my gun ready. I know he's going to want to show off at one moment or another and cost us. which is yeah considering the the characters he brought with him doesn't your system's working right no no also like i'm starting to see why the players didn't have a lot of faith with him and sided with nicholas and elko because you imagine like yeah this is the world cup is like the pinnacle of your career you're hoping to be led by like a good manager who knows his knows his stuff and you go into have a team meeting with him and you can see him like reading tea leaves is about so sorry you're not going to be playing today I'm afraid Mercury's in retrograde Nicola so you're going home actually so Raymond he's an Aquarius with Virgo rising which all makes sense it does make sense kind of explains the entire campaign he was of course sacked straight after this World Cup for serious misconduct but of course he probably saw that coming I'm sure he did what are you giving him?
28I am going to give Raymond Dominic a that's crap manager basically shit manager and sort of tanking a lot of players careers because because of their star signs I am going to give him a 7.7 alright I feel like our player ratings are all over the shop there if someone actually laid them out my moral compass would look quite odd yeah of course Bakri Sanya is in truth a 1.1 out of 10 not a 10 but yeah when it comes to the team I think it's a different matter yeah because I think you've just got to look at like this they clearly just created this absolute cocktail of drama and scandal really at that tournament also so the England and Brazil episodes loads of them had like real individual scandals that were quite fun but there was never much of like trying to like harm each other whereas this lot are like bastards to each other yeah including a couple who aren't in the actual squad so I think team rating is the highest yet for scandal school I think especially sorry one other factor look at what happened the entire World Cup campaign went to shit yeah yeah yeah and like the England and Brazil ones nobody had a scandal on the level of you know underage escorts and like blackmailing each other blackmailing their teammates so I think it's got to be at least a 9 possibly a 9.5 I'll give you 9.3 9.3 9.3 alright let's do it I've run the numbers my data model alright what a team let us know if you agree in the comments I'm sure some of those individual ratings will be questioned but can't argue with the overall team one and let us know if there are any other teams that we should do thanks very much this episode was sponsored by Injury Lawyers for you
