She has a pulse, but her breathing's really shallow. Is she gonna wake up? Move. We need to get to the mine. They would have heard the ringing too. It's not safe to stick around. I know. But we'll be too exposed trying to carry her. She needs to wake up. Take the sat phone and get out of the way.

We're in Goswok, an old quarry town in Aristoc County. Um, we need help. We have injured people. Hey, yeah, that's right. Time to get moving. You don't get to nap on the drop.
6:40This? Is this new? I've never heard it before. The number readout says it's our safe number for Stockholm. Give me the phone. Stockholm? How is Sweden going to... Ah, the boss. I got it. This is Kedlat Tolentino, trying to reach the mother who sits in Sweden. Please respond. Reporting on behalf of Tragana Vukovic, we are in need of assistance in Arusto County, Maine. Please respond. It's not them. Seems so. It stopped. Hang up. Call her. We told you to leave. The fuck? Dad? I didn't hear anything. You know it's not them, Dragana. Is that you? Are you there? I'm hanging up. Moving Dragana to the cave is going to take some time, and those creatures are going to come looking for that sound. Or at least one is. You need to take her. Only take Rogana's pack. Leave yours. 8:20I've got you. I've got you. In her bag is a second medical kit. Different stuff. There's a bag valve mask to help her breathe if she needs it later. But don't use it unless she needs it, because it can cause issues. Now, take her up toward the quarry cliff. That's where the cave entrance is. You'll need to pull her up to get in. On the way there, before you reach the wall, stay to the right of the larger stones. Then once you get to the wall, go right. What? Aren't you coming? I will. I'll meet you in the cave. I'm taking the shotgun and a few of the rounds and heading back toward the church, just to draw them away long enough for you to make it to the cave.
9:01I can move faster without dragging Dragana in her condition. But I'll be back. In the snow, hiding from them should be easy enough, and I know where to go once I lose them. But if he goes somewhere new, well, I'll look for you. If you just help me, we'll make it faster. No. Listen. Listen. Trust him. Get to the mines, go in and hide. It's possible to hide. And there were more than that one car we saw. Some looked sick. They've been out in this storm for too long. What do you want to do? We need to get to the Fisher coordinates. That hasn't changed. These people might be headed there too, and we need to get there before they do. I've never known... no, I don't know.
18:18But they are violent. And they coordinated a trap. Nothing I've read says they do that. I agree. We'll leave them far behind for now. They will have a lot of ground to cover on foot. So we'll reach the site first, even if we don't hurry. Not first. Others may be there. Certainly ahead of them. Right. Jason's not like that. At this point, I couldn't even guess. If they were headed out to the fissure, what do you think they intend to do? I didn't... They go to build. Oh, shit. Kvidmest. What are they building? A site. New altar. Altar? Is... Did you use that word because we use it? Yes. Okay. An altar to what?

19:22Are all fissure sites going to get altars? Do they become full sites? No. The site of the change. Their change. So, we have a goal. The fissure is where it is, right? So... So, if we get to the fissure, and they are building a new site, we can destroy it. There is nothing need control. She's right. Even with the destruction of the Patagonian site, the site itself isn't the problem. The problem is who controls it now. When it was damaged, it gave this new faction the chance to sway the Sinebene family and steal control of the site. The site itself can be reconstructed, the tunnels excavated, the walls recarved.
20:25But the rule of the site, the control of the source of the radiation and the lock, that's where the power is. That's how we can continue as we are, as we need. At least, that is my current belief. Is that more or less correct? Kvitmist? Yes. So, we need control of the site. And we have cleat mist and a handful of damaged artifacts. I brought guns, but they will not harm Guardians. It will help against people like those we just drove away from. Yes, sorry. The others have born a new other. A new other? What? A guardian? I know it's not a common occurrence, but it's not new. An other desecration.

21:48I'm sorry, Kridmist. Could you explain? I don't understand. A woman was found when they swayed to their machinations. She is other, not you, and not us. Who is she? They want to remove you, the need for you all. She is their bridge. No, I mean, who is she? As a person? Not known. Unimportant. If she's a kind of new guardian, do we need to kill her? Is that even possible? We can't just kill people. We just ran someone over. You kicked them under the car. It was self-defense! Was it? Or was it just convenient? Maybe it was both. Maybe this is both too. If we delay them, the others, then we can try to get control.
22:56And yeah, you know what? That is convenient. And it's self-defense. And it would help make this quick. Quick enough to stop more from harming us. Killing us.
23:13I... I apologize. I understand what you're trying to tell me. And you're right. We'll do what we must. For my family, I'll do anything. But I don't know how far... This isn't what I want it to be. Each day, people are surprised about what they're capable of during terrible circumstances. Under significant duress. Oh, so now we are predicting significant duress. 25:27Is returning to the status quo the only answer? The cycles, the killings? I want my family to be safe. To have the luck. I've benefited my whole life, but... Is that the only way forward? 26:45The artifacts are proof of what? Dees, what does your family tell you about artifacts? Oh, I'm certainly not the one to ask. I know they're powerful, and they protect their true daughters and sons and our families. I know their very presence can hurt those around them. inflicting mental anguish and the madness. You don't have any understanding of their history? Not me personally, but perhaps the others in the Sitya family do? Perhaps trick with it. I don't know if this has been shared outside the UAE, so please keep this between us. But we have a story in our family which we can trace to, we believe, over 1 ,800 years ago.
27:41So far? Yes. Even before our family wrote our history, we had oral traditions. And once the family learned to write, all our stories were transcribed. They are in no way perfect, and some family archivists took far too many liberties with the text over the generations. But we still have an overall idea of when we received our first artifact. If I can ask, what happens in the story? Right. Let me think. I'll take out the embellishments. During an autumn, when our family was visiting the site to clean the altar and sweep out the chambers, they brought with them a young, true daughter. During the day's chores, the true daughter wandered off, and the family feared she had gone so deep into the smaller parts of the site's caves that she would be lost to them.
28:32Interesting. The site was already established and cared for, but they didn't seem to know about the luck back then. I'm not sure. Please continue. The girl's mother, sister to the family matriarch, could not be convinced to leave the site. She and her attendants built a shelter on the mountain, and she secured more sacrifices in hopes of appeasing the site. She had thought it had taken her child out of dissatisfaction. Then, fifteen nights after the young true daughter had gone missing, the girl emerged from the entrance chamber. She carried with her the first of our family's artifacts, and said it was its voice that guided her free of the cave.
29:17This is where we learned of their power to protect the family. We are still under this artifact's protection, and she is enshrined on our estate. The name we gave her translate to something like Toothed Ghost, and she's the protector of our matriarch's household. In talks with Hulta, my mother or my grandmother, they have never brought up anything like this. Not that I ever asked. How do you know it was over 1800 years ago? A line of descendants' names. Again, we had a well-established oral history far before we ever wrote anything down. So by knowing the name of the matriarch within the time of the story, we were able to trace back the time.
30:02But that's not the important thing to learn here. It shows that the artifacts are much newer than the guardians or the sites. And the number of artifacts only increases year over year. Or they did until they started... breaking. Queen. Cleet Mist, are you still here? Where... Where you once a guardian? I must find them. How did you change from them to... You? Time... And power... Closer now. Can you check that? What if it's your family? Then it will be in Japanese and you won't be able to understand. True.
