In short

The episode mixes Cassidy’s mental-health check-in (Lexapro helping her stop overthinking, trauma discussions, “rotting” in bed after her partner Jake leaves, and anxiety/rumination about losing people) with Nick Jonas’s career and personal life. They also talk about touring and Broadway, Disney Channel history, writing and themes behind Nick’s album Sunday Best (including “gut punch” and the “hair stopped growing” metaphor), anxiety on red carpets, hydration, and type 1 diabetes advocacy. A recurring theme is managing pressure—therapeutic coping and public scrutiny.

Guests

Nick Jonas (dear friend of the host; singer/actor; new album Sunday Best; Broadway involvement with All Out; type 1 diabetic; former Disney Channel star). Cassidy (host’s intro guest; discusses Lexapro, trauma, therapy/ghosting therapist briefly, and styling ambitions).

Key claims

Lexapro reduced Cassidy’s overthinking; negative thoughts can become “manifesting” (therapist taught her). Nick says Disney’s marketing “Disney faucet” helped the Jonas Brothers take off after being dropped. He frames gut punch as universal self-doubt/self-criticism. He credits openness about diabetes with helping other newly diagnosed patients.

Notable examples

Golden Globes red-carpet heat causing anxiety/sweating; writing “gut punch” from a hair-growth worry; “Lovebug” guitar solo ramped up by Kevin and Joe; Disney Channel Games “Infernos” (red team); “Send It On” as a Friends for Change/planet-kinder initiative; Dexcom and Super Bowl diabetes campaigns.

0:00For decades, a shadowy organization called the Lemonati has kept lemon on top and lime in the shadows. Look around, lemon forward sodas, even lemon forward songs. We ran the tracks, slowed them down, reversed them and squeezed out the truth.

0:19That's lemon propaganda right there. But now 7up is fighting back with their new lime lemon soda. Join the 7up rising. Flip the sip.

0:44Hi pussies, welcome back to Therapist. Tonight for our intro we have Cassidy. Should we talk about our dark days? I am enjoying myself here. You just said you had to get back to LA. Okay, well I'm enjoying myself here. Well I'm enjoying having you here. Do you want to go home to LA? when Jake leaves me, it becomes really dark. Like very dark. You leave the apartment? No. The day after Jake leaves, my whole day is spent in the apartment. It's a really dark place. What do you do in the apartment when you're alone? I rot. I like to rot and marinate in my bed. What do you think about? I don't really have like thoughts anymore because my overthinking kind of stopped after I started taking Lexapro.

1:23You think that's helped you? I think it's helped me a lot. I actually do oh wow good for you cass my overthinking is like really dark it's a really scary place like give me an example what do you mean like i can't explain it i have no thoughts in my head anymore i already don't have thoughts in my head but like you know what i mean what have you talked to your psychiatrist about how much you want to know so i had a few meetings i was supposed to meet with him like last month and i ghosted him um i'm also ghosting my therapist still right now but we're We're gonna get back into it soon. How was your therapist?

1:58She's good. When's the last time you saw her? Saw her two weeks ago. What'd you guys talk about? Trauma. Mm-hmm. I had a few dark months. I didn't recognize myself in that era. A few different hair colors. Jake just admitted to me that when I dyed my hair brunette, it was really bad. But in the moment, I didn't think so. You told me it was what... Thank you. The brunette era was a moment. Give me that. yeah yeah but like now you're saying you hated it like you looked back in pictures and laughed it was blonde and then it was pink anyway i'm going back pink in two weeks i liked the pink the pink is everything what else so this is on netflix oh my god okay so we need to we need to talk about more um normal things okay what's something that you did this weekend that brought you joy i stayed in last night that actually brought me a lot of joy i think i needed that Are you excited for your show today?

2:52Mm-hmm. So Jake banned me from seeing his Broadway shows. I don't know why, but I think it's because the last two times I was there, I was front row. And every single time he would look at me, I would actually just lose my shit. And he was holding in his laughter on stage so hard that I felt so bad because he almost broke. I almost made you laugh 15 times last time I was there. And the time before, I went with Alice. and it was probably jake's worst nightmare what do you think what do you think about when you're alone when i'm alone it can get it can get dark like what do you mean like my thoughts i'm just thinking about like what you would think about day to day what do you think about when you're alone i think about losing everybody in my life yeah that's like definitely what you think about which i don't understand but really scary uh-huh i think about how i'm gonna end up alone so when you're thinking about that you're manifesting it so you need to start thinking more positively in your head like how like you need to stop saying you're gonna end up alone because when you say it this is what i was taught when you say it who taught you that my therapist okay when you say it like you're putting that out there because you know i do the same thing but like if you've changed it and you're like i'm gonna find this amazing person within the year then that's what's gonna happen you're manifesting it what is something that you've manifested recently that's worked styling and now i've been oh my god why don't we take this time yes why don't we take this time cassidy who has some of the best style thank you that i know thank you that's actually really sweet it's true thank you is venturing into the styling industry i've always wanted to you've always wanted to so if you if any of you need to be styled for a shoot for life Cassidy Michaela Brown has that's your middle name yeah has got you okay you just messaged her Cassidy M Brown on Instagram got you except you haven't let me style you yet well I have a stylist her name is Cindy Lopez and I love her dearly yes who's your favorite stylist in the world Andrew something I don't remember his last name but he is popping off he styles Margot Robbie right now have you seen her recent fix yeah she's always she's always amazing she she's always looking amazing but holy shit she's looking insane because of her stylist well tonight on therapist we have nick jonas who is a dear friend were you a jonas brothers i was a jonas brothers fan yeah he was my favorite actually loved joe loved kevin but nick was my boy okay well nick is on therapist today he was actually the first person to ever interact with any of my stuff he's the only reason that I have a career, I would say.

6:36Like, it kind of gives me a headache. This candy, I went through three bags. Yep, they're gone. It was so good. What was your favorite? The sours? The foamies? The foamies. Insane. Like, insane. Melted in my mouth. Have you had a good time? I've had a really good time. I hope I touched on all the topics we needed to touch on. Oh, I'm going to miss you when you're in Paris. I love you so much. Enjoy the episode. I love you, pussies. Hi, pussies. Welcome back to Therapist. Today we have on... Would you consider us friends? I would. Yeah. I would also. Would you? I would. Yeah. I'm glad to hear that A dear friend A dear friend Whose album is out now Sunday Best It's incredible Thank you Nick Jonas Happy to be here Happy to have you here This is long overdue Very much so Well you know Like you were the first person To ever interact with any of my stuff With the Coke Diet Coke Yeah It's kind of crazy What has happened in the last Whatever it's been Four or five years Three Three Very happy for you Thank you Thank you It's always fun to see genuinely nice people do well and succeed.

8:06Nicholas. Is that your full name? Because I've seen some not-so-nice people succeed, and that sucks. Oh, well, speaking of succeeding, you were in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, right? I was. I am starting on Broadway next week. I heard. Yes. Congrats. All out? Yeah, all out. Amazing. I'm so excited. Are you based in New York? We were this whole last year. We basically got to New York in February last year. I did the Broadway show the last five years. and then we ended up staying and just kind of lived out of New York because the tour with the brothers was in and around that area quite a bit so it made more sense but we just literally on Friday moved back into our home here.

8:43Are you happy to be back? I am. Yeah, it's, you know, LA is, it's nice. We've got our friends here. I don't, I don't love the traffic. I forgot how annoying that is. But what I will say is I know you can take the subway in New York but the traffic in New York is arguably just as bad. I just walk everywhere. So it probably takes me longer, but it's more enjoyable to get outside, take a nice long walk. Even if it's freezing cold, I'll walk. Right. I love, do you sleep hot or cold? Oh, cold. Freezing cold. Me too. What is your temperature at? If I can get away with it, meaning my wife likes to be warm when she sleeps.

9:18So she tries to sit at like 71 or 72. It's a nightmare material. I sleep at 62. 62 is very cold. I love that. With a fan next to me. That's amazing. How does the thermostat even get that low? Well, it breaks all the time. I need that in my life. Well, you know what you need? An eight sleep. And I've heard about this. No. Do you have one? Yes. And you can split up the sides. You can split up the sides so your wife can sleep hot. It can be hot on her side and cold on yours. I need to get this. Speaking of, have you ever seen Quantico? I have. I've seen two episodes and I've seen a lot of clips. Have you seen it?

9:59In full. Oh, wow. Yes. It's the best show of all time. So is she. It's a great show. Would you ever consider watching the full show? Yeah. I would love to. We should set a date. We'll do it together. We'll watch the whole show together. With her. With her. And she can give us, like, you know, inside baseball, behind the scenes lore. I love, like, political thrillers. Me too. Quantico, Designated Survivor. I loved Designated Survivor. That was a good one. What else? What are you watching right now? I'm watching The Pit, which is quite good. Have you seen it? No, but I've seen someone that looks a lot quite like me if I lost 30 pounds.

10:32Oh, that's right. I have seen that, actually. Because now my algorithm is all basically the pit. It's not even the algorithm. It's just as clear as day. It does. He kind of looks like you. Yeah. But you should give the show a watch. You're in it, basically. I know. I really should. Did you watch? Well, so the pit takes over. It takes over the span of like 12 hours, right? Correct. So were you like a 24 watcher? Back in the day, I was, like, I would say sort of a mid-fan. Like, I wasn't on it every week, but I did watch from time to time. Okay. It's nice because, like, each episode you could watch as an individual journey and adventure, and you didn't need to, like, know the bigger arc of the show, I think.

11:1224? Am I remembering this correctly? Yeah. Don't you need to know what happened in the previous hour? I don't think so. I think it can kind of just be its own, you know, 24-hour experience. Totally. Yeah. Well, you know, something else I wanted to talk about was we share a stylist. We do. Sydney. She's the best. I saw her post about you and that she was dressing you and I was like, I'm really happy to see that. She's a great person and she does a good job styling people she styles. She's incredible. We are low-key so interconnected. It's crazy. What are some more connection points? Berman. Berman, yeah, exactly.

11:46Berman, Sydney. We're basically, we kind of have the same team almost. I'm the fifth. You're the fifth, Jonas. I'm the fifth. Have you had Franklin on the show? No, I need to. How many episodes do you do weekly? Do you record? During, like, once we start out, it's once, once a week. Yeah. Well, right now I'm about to, well, maybe I'll film some in New York, but usually it's once a week. One time I did seven in a week. Seven in a week? And I know to you it's like, because you're doing shows and Broadway and the whole to-do. It's a lot of talking. It's a lot of talking. Yeah. It's a lot. See, I find that I get more tired vocally from talking over singing.

12:26Okay. Wait, what? And I have like a softer speaking voice. I kind of talk quiet. And that's literally because I get like if I overextend talking, I can't sing. But I can sing all the time. It'd be fine. When's your birthday? September. Virgo? Virgo. Do you love? How'd you know? Do you love like control and stuff? Yeah. Yeah. I'm You're very typical Virgo Is what I've been told What to say What to say You know what I need What do you need Somebody grab me a Celsius Please Thank you so much Love a Celsius You love Celsius I mean I used to drink it A lot more And then I realized That it was making me Feel a little anxious sometimes So I kind of chilled on it Oh speaking of anxiety Side effect Yeah You struggle with anxiety Are I No Yeah I mean sometimes Okay Like not like I just read something You were quite open about you had a moment of anxiety on a red carpet?

13:19Yeah. Well, I was just hot, actually, so you'll understand this. I was on the Golden Globes red carpet with Priyanka. It was like this tented kind of red carpet thing, and the heat was blasting for some reason. And it was a hot day outside. And I was in a tuxedo with a bow tie and the whole thing. Yeah, well, you looked fabulous. Thank you. And I was just really hot and uncomfortable and sweating. And it's a stressful environment to be sweating because you're being photographed and there's cameras in your face and trying to act normal in interviews. I'm literally burning up. And I didn't mean to do that.

13:51That wasn't on purpose to reference my song. It was perfect. It was a genuine accent. And then I went and just got some fresh air and I felt better. Oh, amazing. And I had some water. And some water. You know what? I have been drinking so much water lately. And everyone, by the way, I'm not even kidding, everyone's been like, wait, your face looks so much slimmer. Your face looks so much slimmer. Water. Water is key. Water is key. It makes you feel great. It tastes like nothing. It's perfect. Yeah, well, I used to put in... Did you put the water stuff? Yeah, the little liquid IVs in. But apparently, you are not supposed to have those unless you're running a marathon.

14:27Have you ever run a marathon? I have run a 5K. I ran a 5K the other week. I found it to be very challenging. I took a break in the middle and smoked a cigarette right after. Yeah. I did it once. Joe actually hosted a run, a 5K run for a charity that he was working with. And it was in Texas somewhere. So it was, again, really hot. And I got about halfway through. I was like, I don't think I can do this. I'm not a runner. You know your body. Yeah. I like to stay fit and work out, but I hate running. Yeah, running's the worst. But you know it's great? Walking. Walking is great. Walking is almost equally as great as running.

15:06Kind of, yeah. Better on your knees, I think. Well, you know, speaking of Joe, you're sitting on a present he got me. This couch? No. I wish. I was like, that's a really nice gift. This? Yes, Patrick. Oh, that's very nice. Yes, Joe. Can I ask you what the octopus thing is? I'm so glad you asked. Yeah, I'm dying to know. So I started my account by reviewing octopus dishes. Oh. So I'd be like, pass that puss, and I'd review it out of eight, because eight tentacles. Yeah. Out of eight. Out of eight. Out of eight. There a puss. That's where it just kind of spiraled. What's the best octopus you've ever eaten?

15:44Great question I think Angelini in the Palisades I don't know if it's open right now Because of the fires But it was amazing You're from LA originally? From New York Born in LA, raised in New York So we're tri-state, you and me New York City? When did you come back to LA? For college, for USC I went to USC Do you ever wish you went to college? I do sometimes, yeah I really loved to play baseball, and I had this dream that I could walk on the baseball team. It wouldn't have happened. I don't have the height for it. You need height? Oh, you do need height. You kind of need height. There's some anomalies that figure it out.

16:23But anyway, I went to visit the Northwestern University campus in Chicago when I was 16. And it wasn't the cards. Other things were happening. We were very busy at the time. What was happening for you at 16? We were on the Burn It Up tour, which was, I think, in 2008. And life was crazy. It was like an insane chapter of our journey. Did you clock, like, oh, this is crazy? Or were you like, okay, well, this is just my job? I think we clocked. I mean, once things sort of really took off, I would say we were on tour with Avril Lavigne in Europe in the early part of 2008. and our record really started to bubble and things were happening.

17:08On that tour in particular, we hadn't ever toured Europe, so the Avril fans would boo us sometimes. Shut up! They didn't really like us. By the end of the show, we'd win them over. That was the whole idea. But when we first came out, they'd be like, who are these kids on stage? Anyway, so we had a couple rough shows and we were like, does anyone care about us? Then we came back to the U.S. and things were nuts. And it was at that point in the journey where I was like, I think this is going to be a thing. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but would you consider the takeoff point of everything when the year 3000 music video premiered on Disney Channel?

17:45Yeah, I think so. Because we'd already released a record that really didn't do well. Right, okay. And we got dropped from our first record label. And then Hollywood Records, which is owned by Disney, Disney Music Group, said like, we know what to do with this. We know how to market this. And so they, you know, they started playing the video on Disney Channel and then it just went nuts from there. Wow. They turned on, as I say, the Disney faucet. The Disney faucet. What was it like being on the Disney faucet? Parts of the journey that, of course, when you look back at, you know, different stages of your life, when you're like in your early 20s and trying to be cool, that you can be like, oh, that was cringy or whatever.

18:23but then at this stage in my life and now in my 30s I look at those things that we were able to be a part of with Disney and I have so much pride and I'm really grateful that we got to make movies with them and do the TV shows and all that and we were part of a pretty crazy pivotal Disney moment graduating class of Disney stars I wanted to ask you specifically the Disney Channel games what team were you on again? You yellow? I was in the red team. Red? The Infernos. Okay, The Infernos. How'd you not remember that? You know what? He's not quite good at this job. Was that like summer camp for you?

19:06It was. Oh, stop it. Tell me everything. Well, I spoke about this on a late night show one time, and I think it was like some people started to take it way too seriously, like too literally. I said like, oh, it's like Love Island on crack. and other people responded that were there and were like, it wasn't anything like that. It's weird. I'm like, guys, it's not that serious. Would you all go to each other's rooms after? No, it wasn't, to be clear, it wasn't like Love Island. That was just a fun way to say that it was like high school or summer camp. Right. We're all teenagers. It was just a wild time, but there was no inappropriate things happening because we also had our parents there and chaperones and it was a whole situation.

19:48but I will say this, it was very fun. I really enjoyed, we did it one year and then we performed at it one year so we got to be a part of it. I enjoyed being around other kids my age who had similar interests and who liked to entertain and sing. And, you know, it was a, because I was homeschooled and I was with my brothers all the time, we were touring, these sort of environments where we could tap into like a sort of high school culture. Right. I think was really key to our like ability to stay somewhat normal. Was there anything that happened during the game that you're like, oh, this feels like high school?

20:20Like, was there, like, a class clown? Was there, like, we're all going to class, right? Like, you know what I mean? There's these videos from, like, the opening night party where, you know, we're all, like, on the dance floor, and there was actually this video of me, like, dancing, which is not something I often did. I was kind of very self-conscious about dancing and wanted to be taken seriously as a musician, so we never danced, right? And so I didn't really have any confidence there. but I'm so carefree and really having fun the video and I watched it back now as an adult and I was like wow that kid was fearless he was so able to just be in the moment and be silly and all these things that I feel like I lost along the way at some point and it was kind of great to see it and I think it's a direct result of that environment for me and I really believe other people that were there was really fun and it was a nice thing to get to be together and do these things.

21:19It was really fun. Do you remember, do you think, because obviously you guys were followed by the press and such, but do you think that had an impact on being more reserved? Or do you think social media played an even bigger role in that? Which do you think kind of affected you more? Well, I think we already had a version of it because we grew up in the church. Dad was a pastor and um there was sort of a microscope on us because we were like the first family of the church so we had to behave a certain way and you know pastor's kids historically like either end up like really fucked up or like super buttoned up it's like one or the other or the jonas brothers and so you know we we had to be really like kind of buttoned up and and act correctly which i think was actually really good training ground for later on when we work with disney and there's obviously like certain things that you have to do to represent the Disney company.

22:16And I think a lot of people took that as pressure. I certainly did at times, but I also, I think, you know, it was good for us. We were kids just trying to figure it out and always tried to be good people and make good choices. But the pressure, the lens, I think when social media came into the scene, you know, back when I think Twitter was the first one. Yeah, yeah. We used to be on MySpace, but that was long before Twitter and Instagram. Everyone became a journalist. And then even now with TikTok, everyone's a detective and everyone's a journalist.

22:55So we were balanced about it, I think. It was a part of the job. It was sort of like, all right, this is just a kind of tax you have to pay. You sort of lose your privacy. But I think our parents really helped us kind of navigate that. Right, you had them through it all. And you also had each other. We had each other. We checked each other. Oh. And that was like, I think, it was good. It was like a self-governing thing where we all, you know, knew how to support each other, but also be like, hey, come on. Don't do that. And what did Frankie think about all this? Let's ask him. Franklin? He was so young.

23:30I mean, he was, when we first started, he was like four. How old is he now? He's 20. He'll be 26 this year. He was not four. Yeah, he was four. No, but because I wasn't four. And that's my age. No, he was, we started. Sorry, I don't know why I'm arguing with you about that. I'm telling the truth. We technically started working like 22 years ago. And I started on Broadway as a kid before that. So it's like quite a long time. I've seen the documentary. Yeah. Yes. Have you? I have. Nice. I have. I remember. Yeah, I remember you. We still have to get you to a show though. Okay, well, so you know what?

24:08I know Joe gave you some shit about this. He did. I went to your Vegas show Amazing Lovebug was just simply electric Did you gamble? No I've learned how to I like the game where you play and it spins on the wheel Roulette That's my favorite game And it just lands on a number Because the first time I won 2 ,000 bucks Numbers or did you just do red and black? No I did numbers And then it landed on that one Just one number? Because I was like, just put it all on that one. See, that's how they hook you. Okay, so you think it's rigged. I think everything in the casino is rigged because it has to be.

24:48They have to make those buildings and someone has to make all that money, you know? So you know what I do? Because I also think that every time I gamble, I say, this is my first time. Smart. I say, oh my God, how do I do this? It's my first time. So they're nicer to me. That's very good. I'm going to do that too. Actually, we saw you here two months ago. Yeah, when you performed. When you performed in this casino. Are you planning on touring this album? I hope to. I've been doing these sort of like smaller, intimate shows where, you know, I get to talk about the music where the inspiration came from.

25:21Because it is, you know, important for me to share the context of this album. I always start with like, why now? Why this album? That's the question I ask myself first before I go and make a project. and that's because I want to make sure that I'm doing something that feels important to me, important enough to go in and spend the time in the studio to write the songs and record them and to make the album every second of the process starts with the intention, it's kind of my idea and with this one it was like well it took about two and a half years to make but it's really 33 years in the making, it's like my whole life in different sort of snapshots and points of view and perspective that I had but but hadn't been able to put pen to paper on and actually like articulate in the way that I did with this one and I think that that came from collaboration I worked with some amazing co-writers who really helped me kind of bring the vision to life with it and yeah So those shows have been great I've been able to give that context and I'd love to do some more later this year where I can do a sort of bigger more exciting show where I can play stuff from this album and stuff from previous records of mine and some songs I wrote with the Jones Brothers stuff like it'd be nice to it's been I think 10 years or so since I toured solo.

26:34Really? Was the last tour with the album that had Jealous on it? No, it was the one after that. It was called Last Year Was Complicated. I remember. I went on a tour for that. That was about 25 shows or something like that. And then I did another one not too long after that. But yeah, it's been a while. Do you enjoy touring? I love touring. I don't I don't always love Traveling so much You know It's nice when You can kind of Hub out of a city Right Like what we'll do Is we'll Be based in Los Angeles For like a week Going in and out Of the different places For the shows On the bus Or whatever Flying and then And then you get to Come back home And see the family And kind of have A sense of normalcy Amidst the craziness But I really do love Tori That's amazing Yeah How did you like your tour?

27:22Oh my god Not you knowing Thank you so much For asking Didn't you play MSG? No. MSG. Radio City? Radio City. I walked by the marquee to go to the theater when I was doing the last five years. And I was like, oh, wow. That's amazing. Heck. I was very excited for you. Thank you. It's a big deal. It was awesome. It was awesome. It was exhausting. Yeah. And I know that sounds silly coming from me because you're like up there singing and dancing and doing the whole to-do and I'm just talking. But it was exhausting. Yeah. It was exhausting because I don't know. I'm just. It's a lot of energy. It's a lot of energy.

28:01I'm a tough cookie in general as a human. I'm quite lazy. You know, it was a lot. It was a lot. But my favorite part, at least for me, because I began online, was being able to see everybody in person and be like, oh, my God, it's so real. These people are like, this is real. People are actually buying tickets and showing up. Isn't that powerful? So powerful. You do it, whether it's online or on a recording, whatever it is, and in a lot of ways you're kind of like, is it real? Of course. Who are these folks that are engaging with this? And then you get to see it and see the impact that the live experience has on people.

28:46I think it's really powerful. Do you have a favorite show you've ever done? Tough to pick. But the first show of this last tour that we just did. That I missed. Greetings from your hometown tour that you missed. Was pretty amazing. It was in our hometown stadium that we used to drive past on our way into New York City. Like hoping to accomplish our dreams someday. And looking at that venue and be like, one day we'll play there. And we got to start the tour there. And that was probably my favorite one in recent memory. But there's so many. Tough to pick. Did you have a favorite one? Seattle. Seattle.

Read the full transcript

29:21Seattle. That was fishing, right? Seattle. It was just because. It's a good vibe. It was, the crowd was great. And my favorite is when I can riff with the crowd. And like, and feel, I just felt very confident. And like. Love that. In like my humor and my, all my jokes were landing. And it was just, it was the best. Everyone was so, so happy. And we went fishing and got sushi after that. And it was just great. Where do you think your sense of humor comes from? Like, what's the source of it? or where did it come from? I think I'm very self-deprecating. Yeah. So I think it's a defense mechanism almost against somebody making a comment.

30:01Like, have you ever seen the show Girls? I have not, admittedly. Sorry. No, it's okay. You have to. Okay. I have a lot of fights coming up, so I'll put it on my to-do list. Quantico Girls. It's, so Hannah, Lena Dunham, has this line where she says, Like anything bad you could say about me, I've said to myself 10 times within the last hour already. And so I think that a lot of my humor is like kind of getting to the joke first before anyone else can because I'm so scared of someone like making fun of me. Like I have this quote above my bed that Manny who's out there painted for me. and it's a quote, I forget who said it, but it says, if you slip on a banana peel, if you slip on a banana peel, people will laugh at you.

30:50But if you tell people you slipped on a banana peel, it's your laugh. That's good. And so that's, I think, where my humor is from. And also, I don't know, I'm like miserable and anxious and just like, you know, like. I think, yeah, it's interesting because you have a very good sense of humor and your style of comedy, like going back to the first couple of videos I saw of yours, I was like, this is a very smart person because you have to be smart to write those bits and to do them well. I should hang out with you all the time. I'm not trying to gas you out. I'm just saying it shows. Thank you. And the fact that it's from a place of saying, I'm going to make the joke before someone else can, It makes a lot of sense based on how you construct your comedy.

31:46But you're very funny. Thank you. And you are a very good singer, actor. Thank you. And all of it. I also think I base it a lot in my friend group. You can see that. A lot of it's very imitations. I grew up around a lot of women. All my best friends are girls. and like it's like very, if you get it, you like, you really get it. Like it's very like girl humor, I would say. Love that. Yeah. I did want to ask you about the Send It On video. Mm-hmm. What about it? Do you feel like that was kind of we are the world for children? In some ways it was. I mean, here's the reality. But at the core of it, the whole Friends for Change movement, I think, was a really responsible and good thing that Disney did.

32:37What was that movement? It was about being kinder to planet Earth. Oh, girl, we have not accomplished that. We have not accomplished that. And so that sentiment, I think, was really solid. there was a lot of initiatives like waste in the oceans and recycling all these things that are good in practice, in principle but it was slightly like, it was a lot yeah but did you have fun filming or was it so stressful there's a BTS of the We Are The World am I correct, there's a beyond the scenes of the night Lionel Richie, yeah there's a There's a movie about it. It was like the most stressful night ever.

33:24So was it stressful for you guys? Did you send it on? Aspects of it. Because it was all of, like the big one was like all of the talent across all of the shows. And anytime all of us were together, it was like, it was just a lot of energy. Everyone, you know. We get a bunch of teenagers. So it was not stressful in the way of like, are we going to get this right? we were just you know go stand over there deliver your line or sing your thing and there was like so many liners though like what do you mean if you want the back yeah I do I do so we do these like they were called like content days or something where basically all the talent would come in and it would be the the wand thing yes that and then they would then you would do like all these liners for like different territories oh you know you know what I used to when I worked at a record label I would make artists do these yeah Yeah.

34:18But these are on camera and it's like every territory across all the Disney channels all over the world and then also like some of these initiatives that were a part of the Disney channel thing. And that part always like, you know, reading off a teleprompter, like to your point about it feeling exhausting play shows, you love it, but it is like, it's a lot of energy. That would always kind of get me is like the having to read off a prompter for hours and be like, oh my gosh, this is insane. Do you remember, can you do one? Down the barrel? Yeah. Hey, I'm Nick Jonas and you're watching Disney Channel.

34:49Be sure to check out a new episode of Zach and Cody coming this spring. That kind of stuff. Okay, but what about for a different country? Hey, Denmark, it's Nick Jonas here. Okay, cool. Just, I wanted, like, full context. Sorry, I just, like, triggered you, literally. Yeah. But it's okay. I'm so sorry. It's fine. I'm going to survive.

36:57Before we were on Disney Channel, DCOMs, as it was. Of course. We would watch all the classics. And there were some amazing ones. You know, Johnny Tsunami was a good one. What's your favorite movie of all time? Ooh, Good Will Hunting. It's probably my favorite movie of all time. Oh, did you see Good Will Duncan last night? I didn't see it. I heard about it. Is it good? What was your favorite ad? My favorite ad? Oh, everybody. Yeah, the T-Mobile one. But then, no, it was crypto. Coinbase crypto now. Oh, okay. Gosh. Now I feel bad, you know? Yeah. But, yeah, it was cool. You going to do a Super Bowl commercial next year?

37:36Ideally. Did you guys do one this year? No. I did Poppy last year. Yeah. Have you guys ever done? I'm sure you've done one before. I have, yeah. Which for who? The brothers haven't. I have. Ooh. Well, I have a partnership with Dexcom, which is a continuous glu-close monitor that I wear. I'm a type 1 diabetic. So I have my Dexcom on here. And I did. It's really cool. We did actually two Super Bowl campaigns. and it was amazing to bring something like diabetes onto a stage that big and talk about a thing that really is quite life-changing for me and so many people living with type 1 and type 2. So that was cool.

38:13Then I did a Toyota commercial, which was fun. Two different things. Very different things. Yes. The Toyota commercial was a good concept. It was, you know, keeping up with the Joneses and I appeared like, Jonas? It was very funny. Oh, that's very clever. They're very clever with those. They are. When you started openly talking about diabetes, did people come up to you in the street and say, like, thank you? Well, I was diagnosed when I was 13. Right. And we had just really started touring and stuff. And I knew pretty quickly that I wanted to speak openly about it because when I was in the hospital newly diagnosed, there really wasn't somebody that the nurses or doctors could be like, hey, this person is living with this disease and they're doing just fine.

38:53And so I was kind of like if whatever platform I have at whatever stage, I'm just going to speak about this because there might be somebody, another 13-year-old kid in the hospital who needs a little, you know, encouragement that they're going to be okay. And so, yeah, I've spoken about it forever basically. And I've met some amazing people by being open about it. That's beautiful. Yeah. Thank you. Yeah. I feel like I know quite a few people with diabetes. Yeah. Sorry. That was so awkward. I say that. I mean, a lot of people have it. My friend Tucker has it, you know, role model. Oh, yeah. He is amazing.

39:31I met him in Vegas briefly. Oh, my God. Yeah, you did. Yeah. You should be Sally. Yeah, I should be. You should be. This is my formal offer? No. I'm throwing my name in there. Yes. Do you know how Sally started and stuff? No. No idea. You're just like All of a sudden it appeared Yeah what Are you lying I genuinely don't I don't know Okay Is it you It was me You're the first Sally Yeah I was the first Sally Well this is like How I react when people Are like Bringing your name up And I'm like Do you know that I actually Was the first person to like Engage with him on social You don't say that Do you really I take full credit Wait why am I so honored If that's gotten back to you I hope you're not offended No I'm so honored I'm not saying that like I'm the I never say that.

40:23I just say that, you know. No, no. You were the first. That, that, that, you were my first. That week in New York, I went to New York, I think literally with the sole purpose of making that video with you guys. Yeah. At Fallon. Yes, at Fallon. That was great. Hi, Memory King. What's so funny is I was in London at the time. Priyanka was shooting Citadel there and I was like. I've heard that's great. It's great. You should check it out. Next season's coming out soon. Her new movie's amazing. comes out I'm going to point at you that was really aggressive no what's her new movie you must watch it it's called The Bluff it's on Amazon Prime it comes out on the 24th I believe what's it about she plays a a pirate like warrior it's a badass revenge story it's so good it's set in like the 17 late 1700s anyway I was with her in London and I had just gotten there a few days before so I was still jet lagged I was like up till 4 or 5 in the morning every night just scrolling and then I came across your video and I sort of made the response in somewhat of like a delirious state because I was up at four in the morning and uh yeah it was crazy how much people loved it I mean I woke up with pure joy and excitement that Nick Jonas do out of my video it's so great yeah that was that was thank you thank you thank you it's not I did just a very very small small part of the Ascension story?

41:49Well, to me, it's one of the biggest. I talk about it all the time. Like, yeah, that first week in New York. And then I went to go to your SNL after party. You guys performed on SNL. That was fun. Yeah. You know, my favorite song off that album is, I think it's called Montana Skies. Yeah, oh, cool. Thanks. Yeah. John Belion. Great. Icon. He's made one of my favorite songs of all time, Ghost by Justin Bieber. It's really good, that song. Oh, so good. Did you work with him on this new album? I didn't work with him on this new album, but I certainly will again on something. He's the best. Who did you work with on this album?

42:22So, J.P. Sacks basically posted this video a while back that was very honest and kind of vulnerable. It was about his tour and having to not do it because of some factors. And basically, I was like, wow, he was so candid and it really spoke to me. And I reached out and said, hey, do you want to come out and be the special guest at our show in Toronto know where he's from and he said yes and he came out and absolutely killed it and then basically I was like look I'm doing a writing camp in a couple weeks love for you to join and so he was really I think the anchor to the project helping me kind of bring it all to life and say what I wanted to say and then there was a bunch of other collaborators Paris Carney who's very good friend of mine also a huge part of the songwriting aspects of this and Brian Daly, blush, Josette, uh, Jeff Giddey, Dwayne Whitmore.

43:15It was an amazing group of people, um, who really gave me the freedom to, to speak, you know, honestly. And, and I think because it was friends, I was able to just kind of relax and take the guard down a little bit and just, just be real. And just sometimes you approach like writing a song and you're thinking about all the ways in which it'll be commercial or it'll find its audience. Uh, if it'll trend on TikTok. I mean, all these things are a part of the creative process, whether you like it or not. But I really wanted to just strip all that away and say, what feels right here? And what am I, what am I actually trying to say?

43:52Now, look, I hope one of them becomes a hit. That would be great. But it's kind of more important at this stage for me to just say the most real thing. I loved gut punch. Thank you. Can you explain to me the beginning, you're talking about your hair falling out and then not falling out. What is the significance behind that? I went to the studio that day and I was talking to my co-writers, Blush, Gassette, Ryan Daly. I was like, literally like this. I'm having my coffee kind of start of the day and I was retelling them about how earlier that morning I was like, I think my hair stopped growing. They're like, what do you mean?

44:30I was like, well, it's not falling out, but it's reached its maximum length and it just doesn't grow any longer than that. They're like, that's not possible. I'm like, I don't know. And then I got reflective about it. And not to get too artist-y, whatever. No, artist-y. I was like, maybe it's me. Maybe I'm not growing. And the metaphor became important enough to be like, that's a song. And that literally became the verse. And then when we got to the gut punch part, it was just about kind of the ways in which we all beat ourselves up. and stress about, oh, are people thinking about that thing I said last night?

45:10I feel like I'm misunderstood. Am I being a thoughtful and responsible friend, husband, father? All these questions. And one of the things I think is important about gut punch, which is why I wanted to put it out first, is that it is specific to my experience, but I think it's the most universal theme and concept. You don't have to have lived my experience to relate to this. And also I feel like, you know, I don't want to put words in anyone's mouth ever, but some people might look at me in my life and say, oh, he doesn't ever think like that. But that's just not the case. I mean, we all deal with some level of self-doubt or, you know, even ways in which we speak to ourself that are unkind at times.

45:55And it was really gratifying for me to make a song that speaks about that. Yeah, I thought it was super beautiful. It reminded me of when I was journaling the other day, and I was just writing all these horrible things about myself down. Why? Because I crashed out for like, how many, how long would you give it, Louise? What? Three weeks? Any longer? I thought shorter. I thought it was one week. I'm sorry that happened. No, it's okay. It's okay. But I wrote like, oink, oink, oink, piggy. well I mean I would encourage you unsolicited think positive no I know I know it's important to get those things out sometimes I got it out to get it out and then leave it behind and if you you know sometimes you just have to say a thing it doesn't mean it's true it doesn't make it true because you've said it you know who you are you know what your heart is and you know I'm sorry that rejection happened but but you know what it's all good I found out the other day that it was well worth it.

46:59I'll tell you after. It's actually a really exciting story. Oh, boy. You don't give two shits. I'm excited to hear. What was I going to ask you? Oh, Lovebug. The chord change in Lovebug when it goes, like, hard. Yeah. How did that happen? The first verse, second chorus, and second verse, second chorus, before the big change at the end. I wrote in a hotel room in New York City. And I basically had it ending with the just, love bug again, chorus, without it doing the big epic guitar solo thing. But when Kevin and Joe heard it, they wanted to ramp that part up, and we all contributed to that sort of piece of the puzzle, which I think makes it a really special and powerful moment live.

47:47It's the best song of all time. So I'm so proud of that one. I think it's the quintessential Jonas Brothers song. That's what you think is the quintessential... that's what you think is the quintessential Jonas Brothers song? Love Bug? I think so, yeah. That would be my quintessential one. It takes you on a journey. Musically, it's really representative of our sound. And I think playing it now, so many years later, is even more exciting and powerful than even when it was back then. Wow. I did not know. I could have thought you would have said year 3000. Well, what's funny is Year 3000 is a cover.

48:29It's not even our song originally. We didn't write it. A lot of people don't know this. Including me. Yeah, so there's a band called Busted. They are amazing guys. Totally. And had their first kind of big record and break in the early 2000s. But this song that was massive over in the UK didn't really transition over here to the US. or it didn't chart here in the U.S. So our label exec, David Massey, who signed us and was the best guy ever, he was like, I have this idea. What if we cut this record and release it in the U.S.? So we did. And it was wild. I mean, a brilliant move on his part to find that, pair it with us.

49:14And obviously Busted had to approve it because for a long time we had all these people being like, from the U.K., they stole the songs. Like, you can't steal a song. That's not how it works. You have to get approval or you get sued. And so they were kind enough to let us take the song and run. We've now performed it together a bunch of times. But it's still together. They're still together. They're on tour right now or just finished up one. What is your favorite, speaking of covers, what is your favorite musical cover of all time? It's kind of a double. It's a bizarre one. But Dolly Parton wrote, I will always love you.

49:52so she wrote that Whitney Houston made it popular ah but then Dolly Parton released her own version of it I believe or it's the other way around anyway that's your fave Whitney and Dolly both kind of covered I don't know how to explain it but the math's not nothing in my brain either but yeah that's the best one wow I think my favorite it's kind of random Drake did a cover of Nico's These Days I've never heard that it is just simply have you ever heard it oh my god it's amazing i first of all i love the song these days and his cover of it is just outstanding i am very very excited to announce a new sponsor of therapist which is d-pop i love d-pop everyone loves d-pop my best friends in the entire world use d-pop like religiously.

50:44It is the best place I feel like to find secondhand and resale fashion. Like, I mean, what I specifically use it for, and as you can see, is I like finding like vintage artists or like merch on there. I love merch. More than, merch is like my favorite thing in the entire world. Like, I love like, I don't know if it's like the feeling of exclusivity or what, I don't know what it is, but I love merch. and more specifically, I love vintage merch. So I always, always, always go to Depop to find that vintage merch because somebody is always selling like an old concert t-shirt or like an old poster.

51:20So I love Depop. I had Nick Jonas on today and I got this on Depop and I was going to wear it, but right before I got so nervous and I just, I was like, I can't, I can't, I can't because I was, but I'm wearing it now to announce this Depop partnership that I am so excited about. For the next guest though that I do this with, I am going to muster up the strength and courage to wear the merch. When I found out Nick was coming on, I like immediately went to Depop because if there's anything out there, I know there's some old Jonas Brothers merch. And I was correct. And I found this incredible t-shirt.

51:55And Manny also found a t-shirt. Manny, come here. Yes. Come sit. Grab the mic. My beautiful vintage shirt. Yes. Do you use Depop? I use Depop like every month. Do you ever sell clothes on Depop? I never have actually, but I know it's easy. I have friends that do it. My favorite part about Depop personally, not that you asked, but I'm going to tell you, is that they don't take seller fees. So like a bunch of other companies, like if you're selling your clothes, like they will take a cut of what you make, but Depop doesn't take anything. So it's like a literal virtual flea market, which I think is so cool.

52:29That is cool. Also, what I love about Depop is that like you really do like connect with people that share similar styles to you and style is such a personal thing. You really do talk to the person you're buying from, like, or that you're selling to. And it's just such a community. I just think it's so incredible. All of my best friends, including me, shop on Depop. Like, it is just so, you find pieces you would not find anywhere. You can just find, like, really, really unique items. And I just think it is just the perfect place for that. It really is because you can find stuff you literally can't find anywhere else.

53:00Also, what I think is amazing is that Depop is for everyone. Like, my best friend Julia uses it to find, like, these insane vintage pieces. But then I have friends with kids that once these kids grow out of these clothes, they want a place to sell them. So they'll sell them on Depop. Like it really is just such a community where everyone can. There's something for everyone. And I just think that's so amazing. For me, it's merch and like concert merch and artist merch. And like Louise uses it to find shoes. She like has a huge shoe collection and like loves finding vintage shoes on Depop. Also, it really helps you hone your own personal style because you're not being like told what to buy.

53:35You're not being like marketed certain items. Like you are on the hunt for what you want. Download the Depop app to start selling. Your first listing only takes a few minutes and there is somebody out there already searching for your style. Thank you again, Depop, for sponsoring today's episode. Stay tuned for all the other guests and the exciting items I find to accompany them. Who's your favorite artist of all time? Taylor Swift. Taylor Swift. Who's yours? Stevie Wonder, probably. I also love Bon Iver. Very cool. right very cool right every time I say that I'm always like and Bon Iver yeah because you know like everyone's like what are you listening to right now I'm like just the new Bon Iver record because I just feel like it makes me seem like in the scene it's like when you when you order like a fancy cocktail and you're like yeah I drink these all the time what's your favorite cocktail I keep it quite simple just do tequila with soda you seem like a tequila drinker yeah do I yeah you give that I'm giving tequila drinker yeah yeah that and then if I'm doing if I'm like doing a thing like I'm going to an event or I'm dressed up I love to have a dirty martini that's like me too about gin or vodka vodka okay you gin gin that's because you're a grown up yeah yeah I love a dirty martini the best dirty martini I used to like hate olives hate hate olives more than anything in the world then I went to this hotel in London called...

55:05How could you hate olives with a passion? I just found them quite disgusting. They're so good. It's my favorite thing. Are they really? I could eat a bowl of olives. But I have another friend. See how I said another friend? I have another friend who also hates olives and is passionate about it. I'm like, that is such a bizarre thing to be angry about. Can I tell you what it is? The texture doesn't match the taste. Did you ever drink beer? to seem cool sometimes. If I'm with a guy, he's having a beer. I'm like, okay. I'll get involved. I had this one friend who dropped two or three olives into a beer.

55:48The salty kind of thing with the beer. Yeah, I'd kill myself. I tried it one time. It's interesting. It's not bad, but it's not particularly good either. That's like giving ketchup on pizza. That's crazy to me. It's also crazy to me. I mean, but at least ketchup is still kind of tomato sauce. I used to hate cherry tomatoes. I love them now. What else did you used to hate that you now love? Oh, my God. Love that question. Cherry tomatoes, olives, still hate beets, cottage cheese. I used to like, uh-uh. You used to hate it. Now you love it. Well, I had never tried it because it just bugged me out so bad.

56:29Do you like Indian food? More than anything. My favorite Indian dish is paneer, which is basically cottage cheese cubes and some sort of sauce, right? And I have always hated cottage cheese. And then I had paneer, and I was like, this is the greatest thing. I was like, it's cottage cheese. Did you know that? I'm like, what? I've been lied to my entire life to myself. I don't think I've ever had paneer. I love birani, and I love, of course, chicken tiki masala. I love papadam. It's my favorite snack in the entire world With the chutney So satisfying And I haven't been able to find this anywhere There's this one place in New York Have you ever been to Swagat, New York?

57:09I have not Okay, it's on the Upper West Side It's one of my favorite Indian food in the entire world And they have this thing called pori Or pori And it's Pani pori Yeah, and it's like this bread And you pop it And it's like really hot It's got like a They're like this big? Or are you talking about a big one? No, the big, the big one Okay and I love lamb korma very nice I'm gonna have Indian food tonight from where? we ordered from a place called Laomarch shout out Laomarch okay it's in the valley please I need the recs because I it's so good and my wife approves she's obviously knows her stuff on the Indian food she approves of this place okay I would tell will you send this to me?

57:46yeah what's your favorite type of food? favorite type of food is number one spot would be Thai food now used to be Italian it's been taken over by Thai food You know what? I have to agree. It's so good. I have to agree. Mine is Thai and Japanese. Those two. Those two really do it for me. I agree. My order is Thai, Italian, Indian, Japanese, everything else. French. I don't know. Everything else. Yeah. I don't like French food. Really? What is French food? French fries. Those are good. I don't count. Come on. There's a place in the valley that will change your mind about this, I think. called? It's called Petite Trois.

58:30Oh, I've heard of Petite. Petite Trois. It's really good and it's a great environment in there. Uh-huh. But there's a dish called, do you like fish? Go for the dish first. Okay, it's called like a trout almondine or something. It's so good. It's like citrusy. Nope, God. Nope. Nope. Buttery? What? Like butter? Yes. Have you had the Dover sole at Giorgio Baldi? Yes. That is a fish I like. It's very good. Yeah. But I guess I do like this one French place. I don't know if it's Italian. Have you ever been to La Petite Maison? I have. That's my favorite restaurant in the entire world, despite it not being my favorite food category.

59:14Where is it? There's one in Cannes and there's one in London. It's very chic. I know. That's why I said it. Yeah. Yeah. It's like Bon Iver. Right? I'm so happy you had that reaction. Do you like Bon Iver? Yeah, I do. First of all, is your full name Nicholas? It is. Okay, cool, because I called you it within the first few minutes, and I've been thinking about it ever since, because I'm like, what if his full name isn't Nicholas? Because there's a lot of Jakes that aren't Jacob. You're Jake. Jacob. Jacob. Jacob Roscoe. You sound like a villain. That's a good name. It's not as good as Jake Shane.

59:48Of course. Yeah, that's a good name. Do you know Debbie Ryan?

59:55Um, I, yeah, not well, but we, we met many times and hung before. Her and I, we share a lot of similarities. How so? Um, have you ever seen her red carpet interviews? Oh yeah, I love those. Yeah. So we call those my Debbie moments. Right then and there, Debbie. Yeah, that's, that's fabulous. Yeah. She's, um, she's great. And, um, the one with the, uh, went to the Disney channel and that one is so good. Made history? Yeah, that's what we did. I love it. Was she Radio Rebel? Yeah. She was Radio Rebel queen. Shout out Debbie Ryan. She's awesome. Who do you keep in touch with from the Disney days?

1:00:35Some of the cast of Camp Rock come out for Jonas Con. What? Jonas Con. Tell me about Jonas Con. I think we actually tried to get you to come to Jonas Con. I think you did. I think I was on tour. Yeah, it was basically like... you know, what it sounds like, just a convention where it was all Jonas Brothers stuff to celebrate the 20 years. As a part of that, some of the Camp Rock cast came out, which was great, so keep in touch with them. But outside of that, not really anyone. Wow, it's like high school. Yeah, we've all, I mean, we've all grown up and kind of, everyone's found their own sort of path in life and journey, and it's beautiful to see it.

1:01:19Everyone seems to be doing, seems to be doing well. Tell me about Camp Rock 3. Camp Rock 3. What can you tell me about Camp Rock 3? It is, I can tell you a lot about it. I'm thrilled that it's happening because, you know, those two movies, Camp Rock 1 and 2, really meant a lot to a lot of people all over the world. And it was this incredible big Disney thing that we got to be a part of. And, you know, to then now pass the torch on to a new generation is really a special thing. And so the concept of the movie is basically that, I don't want to give too much away, but we lose our opening act for our big tour, the start of the movie, and then it's basically about the new generation.

1:02:05Oh, and you go to the camp to find? Yeah. It's so fun. So then it's all about them, and they basically take it over, and they're so talented, these kids, and it was so cool to see the spark at this early stage in their lives and careers and what it's going to become because they're going to be massive stars in a matter of no time. I'm really excited for a whole new generation of people to be introduced to this movie. Do these kids know who are starring in it? What Camp Rock 1 and 2 meant to us? I think they really do understand the gravity of it, the weight of it, and what it meant to this generation and what it will mean to the next as well.

1:02:53Yeah, that's beautiful. Are you watching any of the Oscar noms this year? Do you ever do like - I've watched, I think most of them. What's your fave so far? I thought One Battle After Another was excellent. I would love to work with Paul Thomas Anderson on something. Someday it'll be a dream. I thought that Timothee Chalamet was transcendent in Marty Supreme just an absolutely magnificent performance and so entertaining but also nuanced and just great I thought he was really good and then what else have I seen that I really loved? Have you seen Train Dreams? I have not seen that yet you have to watch Train Dreams is it really emotional?

1:03:41Am I going to cry and stuff? Well have you seen Hamnet? I have not seen that either. Okay. Because I was about to say it's less emotional than Hamnet, but it's pretty emotional. It's just, oh, you would love it. It's so good. It's really so good. I just know that, like, you know, I've been traveling a lot this month. It was on, like, three 14-plus-hour flights, and so I, like, had a lot of things I needed to watch. But when you're, like, away from your family and you're on a plane by yourself, it's like, you just end up getting so depressed if you watch a really sad movie. So I have to, like, space it out.

1:04:11What's the worst travel day you've ever had? Well, I've done now three trips from the U.S. or Canada to India. And how long is that flight? Three trips where I went and was on the ground for less than 12 hours and flew back. So in the course of 72 hours, I was on the plane in transit for longer than I was on the ground. It was rough. But what's a travel day that you're like... I'm really curious to know what... I'm about to blow this bitch up. Oh, yeah. Like where you're like, I am going to genuinely crash out. Like everything is going wrong. I have an answer to that. So I got on a plane. I was flying from LA to Texas.

1:05:01Something had just happened that had me really bummed out. I can't remember exactly what the thing was. So apparently it wasn't that big a deal. But I was really bummed out and I was traveling by myself. I was like 17 or 18, which is not something I often did because we, you know, most times we'd have like somebody travel with us for security or assistance, something like that. And I was just by myself. So I get on the plane. I'm already like bummed. I order a coffee and I go up to use the bathroom. And mind you, I'm wearing white pants on the plane, which is like a first mistake. So random. I come back to the bathroom.

1:05:36The coffee's there. and as I'm sitting down I like my jacket must have hit it or something and it fell into my seat the coffee yeah it fell into my seat and it was it was I was already in motion I was like here sitting down and it went ahead so then it was just in my like on my butt like soggy butt from this fucking coffee it was hot the coffee was hot and I was just like already so bummed and I remember just looking at the person next to me and they had this look of like so sorry like it was like Genuinely like, oh. And I just started crying. Oh. I just was like, just sobbing. Were they comforting?

1:06:15Sobbing. And they put their hand on my back. And I'm just like, it was really funny. Now. I mean, it's funny now. But I was so angry. And the flight was super turbulent. I'm not good with turbulence. Oh, I love turbulence. You love turbulence. Why? It's like you're like a roller coaster, like rocking to sleep. See, my daughter, she's four. She is the same way. And I think it's amazing. When's her birthday? Just passed. January 15th. oh Capricorn yeah she loves turbans she puts her hands up like this and she thinks it's a ride yes it is a ride but it stresses me out it is a ride but yeah I was about to say what's the worst that could happen but a plane crash you know I think we know yeah are you ever scared of plane crashes actually Glenn Powell once told me a story you guys you guys were flying and you had to land and the pilot came out and was like we literally almost just like seriously died it was super hot in the cabin and we were sitting on the tarmac for a while.

1:07:07It was the middle of summer. And we basically took off. And I could tell right away something was off because we were not going fast enough. And I was like, what is going on? So someone went up to check and the pilots were like just waving him back to his seat. And he came back and he was scared shitless. And basically, there's two power sources on a plane. and that's basically every plane is what I've been told and one of them failed and the other then failed. So they were pulling the, whatever it's called, the steering wheel, I guess, back to keep the plane in the air because we were just gliding back basically to the airport but we were not far enough away that we could get back and we were all, thankfully, safely on the ground but the pilots were visibly shaken up and it was actually like pretty frightening.

1:08:03Oh, I'm so sorry. Actually, yeah, it was fucking terrifying. It's so scary. Yeah. On the contrary, do you guys still make your popcorn? Yes. It is delicious. I'm glad you like it. Rob's Backstage Popcorn, shout out. Yes, it is amazing. Have you had this popcorn? They served it on the flight to the Jonas Brothers concert in Vegas that I went to with Larry, and I thought, this is just delicious. It's so good. It is so, so good. And we're building out more backstage brand stuff. So there'll be more. We love snacks. I love snacks. Which favorite snack? Not olives. Popcorn. I've never really been a Pirates Booty fan.

1:08:46Your daughter? Daughter loves it. And so I started eating it. And I'm like, this is great. Have you ever had the veggie one? Fire. I like veggie sticks. Those are great. I'm so sorry. You don't like those? You didn't know the ones I'm talking about. They're like a... Of course. Yes. The ranch flavor's really good. Zesty Ranch. It's called Zesty Ranch. It's so good. Yeah. I just... It's not for you. It's like the pea snaps. You know the little pea snaps? Oh, I don't like those. I hate those. Those can... Yeah. No disrespect. You've earned your place on the shelf. Disrespect. And I hate Sun Chips.

1:09:20Really? Yeah. Hate. That's interesting. I would have thought you would like a Sun Chip. Why would you think that? Because it's, it's, they're yummy and you like other things that taste like that. Like what? Like popcorn can taste like that. No, popcorn does not taste like sun chips. I don't know. Sorry, I feel like I'm yelling at you. I'm sorry. I'm having a great time. Well, Nick, what are you therapist about today? I have a zit. Where? Right here. Oh my God, I thought that was a mole. That's a zit. It's just so annoying. It's like, it's like a pressure on there too. So it needs to be. Oh, it hurts.

1:09:53Are you, are you, are you going to pop it? I like to pop zits. Well, you have great skin. Thank you. So do you. Thank you. I can tell you've been drinking a lot of water. Yep. Everyone keeps telling you that, right? Everyone. Wait, but I really thought that was a mole. So shout out your hair and makeup because it looks – I never thought for a second that it was a zit. Yeah, it's a zit, and it's so annoying. That's what I'm pissed about today. Okay, well, I'm pissed about – there's this show I want to watch, and I'm so behind. And it's like The Traitors, and I really want to watch it. but I'm so behind so I have to watch all I have to catch up and catching up on a show that's like live on air is just so annoying.

1:10:33It's frustrating. It's so hard to do. It's so frustrating. The most intense time I ever had to do that was did you ever watch Scandal? No. Add to list. But I get it. Add to list. So what do you watch? Yeah what do I even watch? What do you watch? I watched Squid Games which I loved. I never finished it out. So good. Did you finish it? I did. How was the ending? satisfying satisfying? yeah I don't want to give anything away to people watching but it was satisfying I've also started watching Pluribus okay me too I haven't finished it yet but I love Vince Gilligan Galligan? Gilligan? whatever Gilligan okay cool I love him because I love Breaking Bad have you seen Breaking Bad?

1:11:16I have started Breaking Bad twice and okay so let me tell you why it's so good because back in the day before people would like cancel shows after one season. They used to let them breathe. And Breaking Bad gets really, really, really, really, really good in season three. Isn't that tough to commit? No, it's so worth it. It's so worth it. Two seasons from now, it's kind of like a similar show. I know Breaking Bad is the best show ever made. It is. I'm giving it the respect it deserves. I'm just saying the concept of like, oh, just because even someone else said something to me recently. It was Kevin Jonas.

1:11:52He's like, oh, you just have to stick with it. there's like a, you know, it dips for like three, four episodes. And then it's, I'm like, these are hours of my life. I'm not just going to commit to it. Like I could be, it's so worth it. There are these moments that you're just, it feels like God is coming down and holding you. Yeah. And being like, isn't this show so good? Like, but I, I've been recently more and more. I've just been turning shit off. Me too. If I get 20 minutes in. Wow. Really loud. Sorry. This is the voice of God. Yeah. If I get 20 minutes in and it doesn't hook me, I used to stick with it and watch the whole thing.

1:12:29Now I'm just like, no. I got other options. Okay. Can I give you a good rack? Yeah. Industry. I watched the first season of Industry. I need to watch the next two. Similar to Breaking Bad, it only gets better. It only gets season three. I mean. I have actually a really fond memory of Industry because we were, my wife and I were in our house and power went out. in our neighborhood. And we did like a date night, candlelit at our home with the iPad on watching industry. And it was like, so sweet. So sweet. How'd you guys meet? We met on Twitter. What? So I was driving down Sunset Boulevard and I saw the poster for Quantico.

1:13:10She was on it. I was like, wow, she's gorgeous. Mutual friend of ours was like, you guys should meet. You really hit it off. And I was like, connect us. And he never did actually. But it was enough of an indication for me to know, okay, so that maybe the door's open there because she seemed to be into the idea as well. Anyway, I went on Twitter and saw that she followed me. Best feeling ever. Yeah, I was pumped. And then I direct messaged her. She got back to me shortly thereafter. And we were just friends for like a year and a half, two years. How do you have the patience? So I reached out and was like, hey, can we give us a real go and go on a date, you know?

1:13:50and she was like yeah I'll be in um I'll be in LA next week and and we had we'd already gone to the Met Gala together basically because we were both dressed by Ralph Lauren shout out Ralph Lauren um shout out Sydney uh Sydney yeah Sydney Speckham so we go on this date we go to uh And I said, hey, let's go see the live version of Beauty and the Beast at the Hollywood Bowl, which was a fun first date idea. I was like, but let's bring some friends. So it was less pressure. So it was like a group hang. In case, like, it wasn't the vibe. Oh, respectful. And so she brought her best friend. I brought Kevin and another couple friend of ours, Greg and Paris.

1:14:37and we had like the absolute best time at the show we went for a drink somewhere after and Joe knew I was really excited about the States so he sent us shots of milk from wherever he was in the world which was hilarious shots of milk is that like an inside joke it's like I don't know he just thought it would be funny and it kind of was yeah and then Kevin was being a wingman good for Kevin but he was yeah he was overly hyping me up though she's like Oh, he's like, you know, someone bring up like baseball or something. Kevin would be like, oh, Nick could have gone pro. He could have been a pro baseball player.

1:15:14It was the most Jersey thing ever. And it was very sweet. She obviously was like, your brother's really like gassing you up. He's like, he wants this to go well. And then it did. And now you're married. We French kissed that night. Chills. Wait, so are you from north, south or central Jersey? North Jersey. Is that near Philly? Sorry, what were you counting? Like, I was just... I like this. It's not near... Is north near New York? Yes, it was 45 minutes from the city. Oh, okay, okay. We have a friend that lives in South Jersey. South Jersey is like a different... Yeah, you guys call... Yeah, the pork roll, Taylor ham.

1:15:55Tina ham? Taylor ham. Taylor ham. What do you guys call it? Taylor ham. I call it Taylor ham. Yes. Pork roll sounds crazy to me. Pork roll. But people are really passionate about this argument And it's a whole thing It like divides the state It really does People are really insane about it Like really and truly Have you ever tried it? A pork roll? Oh I guess I call it a pork roll Yeah I have No I haven't I lied It's like It's just like ham But ultra processed Well, the weird part is the pork roll or Taylor ham is just the meat. Right. It's what goes in it that matters. It's delicious, and it's got so much salt in it.

1:16:44It's just incredible. Like on an egg sandwich, Taylor ham, egg, and cheese, what you say. Oh, I would get a bacon, egg, and cheese in the morning. Yeah, so this is Taylor ham. It's the same thing. Same idea. Yeah. Okay, should we get into the Tell Me What's Wrongs? Mm-hmm. Do you know what those are? I think so. It's like Where people write in And we give advice Yeah Okay do you care if I go pee Because I have a really small bladder I don't care at all Okay I'm gonna go pee now Do your thing Okay

1:17:13I've been with my boyfriend For over three years now And he hates PDA But I really don't He won't kiss me Or even hold my hand in public Unless he's drunk Um okay Even that it's not for long It makes me feel like He's embarrassed being with me I'm his first boyfriend As he's ever only dated Oh, as he has only ever dated girls in the past. What do I do, girl? Girl, I can take this one. Yes. You can't. It's time to break up. It's internalized homophobia. You don't think it's breakup? No, please speak. She's a gay man trapped in a woman's body. Yeah, it's his new thing. I don't know if breaking up is, I think it's about the conversation with them.

1:17:54It's like I understand where you're coming from. I don't think you just break up. Like if it is internalized homophobia and maybe even like some insecurity, I think they should work, talk and work through it. Yeah, I know what I mean. Yeah, no, totally. I love PDA because it makes me so like I can't, I wouldn't be able to do that. Do you like PDA? I do. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. It's kind of weird. I like being affectionate with my wife, you know, but. But you ever think about writing a book? I would love to. You have a way with words. Sorry, continue. I co-sign these takes. Which one? Well, you're saying the same thing, right?

1:18:40I said breakup. You're saying have a conversation first, but it probably leads to a breakup. I hate conversations. Well, not like in general. I mean like I hate like intense conversations. Homophobia has no place anywhere. So no. No, it does not. Zero. See you. Have you ever seen Hilary Duff's? Hey, you can't say that. Iconic. Iconic. My friend is always in a bad mood because she's always hungover and sick, so she's an alcoholic. In return, she makes my life miserable, which sucks, and I kind of want to give it back to her by getting her fired from her job by telling upper management that she comes in drunk sometimes.

1:19:15Also, maybe telling her boyfriend that she actually hates him. What the fuck is wrong with you? This would be my way of dumping her as a friend. Okay. Oh, also, she is my manager too, and then I would get to just quit after. Is this insane? I obsessed. By the way, let me just say something really quickly. Obsessed with the context given because I was so confused. So let me – do you understand that or do you need me to paint the picture? I need the picture painted just a little bit. Okay, this girl and her best friend work at the same job, right? And the best friend is the manager. The best friend is the manager.

1:19:51The alcoholic one. The alcoholic one. and so she wants to tell upper management that she's a mess. So at the end of the day, it just sounds like she's not your friend. It sounds really messy and like there's already, she wants revenge. You know what I mean? I don't think. I'm curious. Does she want that job? Is that the hidden motive behind it? Well, it could be. She wants to get a fire so she can slip in there and be the manager? But what would you do? Oh my God, what would you do? I don't know what I would do. I wouldn't tell upper management. That is so sneaky. I think... And bad karma, too.

1:20:26I think it's bad news all around. I think you probably just need to have a conversation like, hey, your behavior is crazy. Chill the fuck out, or I'm going to go tell over management that you've been drinking the job. A threat. But it doesn't sound like there's any HR department at this place, because she's just about to go nuts. Right, she could anonymously report if there was. Yeah. Or maybe there is an HR and then that's the best path. Yeah. Maybe? I don't know. Yeah. My roommate talks to her hamster like it's a human. I thought this was kind of cute at first, but she has full conversations with it and laughs at what the hamster quote says.

1:21:07It's starting to freak me out a little, actually a lot. And I'm wondering if I need to talk to her or something or if I should just let it be. Like, is this a bit or is she crazy? I just like let go and let God. If it makes her happy. If it makes her happy. But it would concern me to live with someone who you thought might be a complete, like, psycho person. I don't say psychopath because that gives it, like, a distinct thing. Were you scared of getting canceled? Cancelable? We're just saying psychopath. But it sounds like that. Okay. So what would I prescribe to that? What's the thing where they talk to animals?

1:21:44Babe? What was that? Was that the Eddie Murphy movie? Doolittle? Yeah. Doolittle. I prescribed Doolittle. Detective Doolittle? Detective Doolittle. I loved that movie. My mother gets really flirty with my friends whenever she's had some wine and we're over visiting. Sometimes it's funny, but sometimes she goes a little too far into the, quote, bit, saying things like, you're exactly the type I would have gone after in college, et cetera, as a joke. But I don't know if it's a joke, and it's so embarrassing. She just brushes it off by saying, I'm sensitive every time I bring it up, so what do I do?

1:22:13Well, your mom is gaslighting you, my dear. Right? I can need some more context on this one, too. I would just stop bringing my friends over and be like, and if she's like, why'd you stop bringing your friends over? It's because like you're weird and they think you're weird too. That's the always way to get someone. They also think it. Like that's what you have to say. They think so too because it's you. It's like, well, they don't think that. No, everyone's been talking about it actually and they all think that. And then she'll be like so embarrassed and be like, oh my God, really? They think that because they're the ones she's trying to impress.

1:22:43So you have to be like, they all think that. That's why they're not coming over anymore. I had someone say that to me one time. like a and you know everyone I'm like hold on I just talked to everybody nobody brought that I I didn't isn't it the most counter-argument but I had I wasn't even slightly convinced I was like actually I just had a little quorum with everyone talked about this and nobody said that you're such a Virgo yeah you are such a Virgo that is the most Virgo thing ever like they wouldn't they wouldn't say it to your face I'm like but they would but would they yeah All my friends are hooking up with my twin brother Oh that's weird One of my best friends who was staying with me Literally left my room while I was asleep And slept with him I'm a very non-confrontational person But it's been like six of my closest friends Oh my god your brother must be so hot Six of my closest friends who have hooked up with him How do I get them to stop?

1:23:34Please help sending love from South Africa It is so funny that this person is from South Africa Because I had to do a South African accent In an audition I filmed right before this How'd it go? Horribly. It's a tough accent. Manny said, you sound Southern. It was really, really. I'm sorry to hear that. It was rough. Tough auditions are. But it was a self tape. So like, you know. Still. But okay. So I would say to my friends, like, I don't know, honestly. That's a tough one. Sounds like your friends might be more into. They're all hanging out with you for your brother. Oh, girl. That's tough. new friends, I guess.

1:24:17But then you have the thread of like my brother's hot. That's a tricky thing. Ooh, there's a movie like this. Clueless? Yeah, I prescribe Clueless. Okay. I got caught red-handed in a very large web of lies just so I didn't have to hang out with this girl who likes me. And by the way, save it with the judgy stuff. Damn, clocked me. Because I'm just not like that. I had told this girl I couldn't hang out because I was sick. Later that night, I went to the mall to go see a movie, and when I walked into the theater, she's literally sitting there and sees me. I left, and she followed me and confronted me in the lobby.

1:24:55Good for her. I told her I lied because I like to go to the movies alone. IDK, some bullshit. That didn't do well either because I literally went to the movies with her and her friends the other week. Anyways, how the fuck do I stop white lying? Will you just stop? You just stop. But, like, honestly, like, that's fine. You didn't want to hang out with her. What are you supposed to do? Clearly you were scared to tell her the truth that you didn't want to hang out with her, so that's not your friend. I tell my friends all the time, I don't want to do this anymore. I don't want to. Peyton, my best friend Peyton, was like, let's get couples massages on Valentine's Day before we go out to dinner and drink.

1:25:30And I was like, I don't think I want to do that anymore. So I said, I don't want to do that anymore. It's going to make me tired. They said what? She said, you're bizarre. Sorry, that's such a funny way to put that. You're unwell. You're unwell. Well, it's totally your, here's, I, I have a potentially controversial hot take. Tell me. It's, should be totally acceptable to be like, I like you, you're my friend, I don't want to hang out tonight. Duh. I just don't want, it doesn't have to be like, I have this other thing I'm doing. Oh, okay. Like, you don't have to. Right. So you just be like, hey, let's, we can, let's be friends, like, nothing changes.

1:26:08However, tonight in particular or tomorrow, I don't really want to do that thing. I want to sit on my couch or do something else. But I would say stop white lying now because it gets to a point where they become bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and then you don't know how to stop. It's kind of like cleptomania. Yeah. I can't lie because of my OCD. I have to tell you when I'm lying. I can't. I literally can't do it. That's good though. It is but it's also exhausting because sometimes I really would like to lie and just be like I'm sick but I can't say I'm sick because then I'll get sick.

1:26:34There's a movie that I'll prescribe to you. Oh tell me. It's called The Invention of Lying. Have you ever seen it? No. It's a Ricky Gervais movie. And I've always thought it would be a great musical. Well, hello, Mr. Broadway. So if someone's watching this that has the rights to it, let me know. But it's this whole idea that he's the first person who can lie in a world where everyone just says the truth. Oh, love that. Oh, that would make a great musical. It's so good. You know what you should do? Before this episode drops, you should inquire about the rights. Yeah, I will. Just to make sure because, you know, that is really good.

1:27:06What a crazy story of like three years from now we're at the Broadway premiere. I know. You're there. In it? In the show. Okay, period. Do you have any advice for me on Broadway? Because I'm like so stressed out, Loki. You're going to crush it. I mean, you have all the tools you need to do a great job on Broadway. Oh. The only advice I would give you is just to, and this is going to sound so cliche, but actually take some time to enjoy it. It's like a crazy schedule, eight shows a week. Yeah, yeah. And it's a lot of work. I'm stressed. But it's so rewarding, and it's really important to pat yourself on the back and take a second in between shows some days just to feel it because it's a pretty magical thing.

1:27:55Okay, I'm really excited. Will you come see the show if you're in New York? Yeah, I'd love to. Are you going to be in New York within the next month at all or no? I'm sure I will, but I don't have plans right this week. second to be in New York, but I'm always there. Well, you let me know. I'll let you know, and hopefully you'll sign my playbill, and I'll see you after the show. I'm really upset with concert etiquette these days, and last night it got out of hand. I was in the pit, and I literally couldn't see anything because I'm sure everyone is filming the stage. Later in the evening, the artist literally pointed my sign out and laughed at it, only for a total stranger next to me to take credit for it.

1:28:33Oh! Live music is so incredible and I know you feel the same. So what in the world can I do to remedy this? I don't know. It's hard because in this day and age, if you confront someone, they could always be filming you. Yeah. Being like, oh, no, no, no. And then you're like, oh, no, no. You know what I mean? And so it's so scary. It's a scary environment to speak your mind. But I don't know. I don't know if there's an answer for that. I think we might just be fucked. I fear that we're fucked as well. Okay. But concert etiquette is important, and if you are on the shorter side, let's get some platform heels or something and get some high lift shoes, and that's going to help.

1:29:14I'm so sure. With the sight line. Some, you know, baby stilts. How tall are you? 5 '8". Really? But not quite. You seem taller. No way. Yes, I'm 5 '3", and I seem shorter. you seem taller than 5 '3". Really? Yeah. How tall would you guess? Like 5 '6 or 7". Shut up! No, Nick. Okay, stop. Shut up. I just got out of my first serious relationship of seven years. I'm post-grad now and I've realized I don't know how to be single. I have the perfect prescription for this. Like at all. My last few years of high school and the entirety of college was spent all with the same guy. I don't want to talk about the breakup, but what is a single girl in New York supposed to do?

1:29:59I don't even know how to talk to people anymore Much less flirt Help watch How to Be Single with Dakota Johnson How to Be Single? That's literally the premise Of How to Be Single with Dakota Johnson When did that come out? 2015 I'll check it out I totally just like made up a date That sounded right But do you know the clip where she's like Home I'm going home Oh yeah yeah yeah That's from that Gotta get it Hey Jake an amazing guest You My screen time is out of control I delete apps like Instagram and TikTok To stay off of them And at the end of the day I've redownloaded them it's so bad I'm just staying up late into the night scrolling I know you love your phone but what do you do to not let it consume your entire life I I've tried the the like thing where it limits your screen time it doesn't work you just immediately X out of that I'll do it tomorrow the advice that I've been given by others because I've said the same thing about my screen time is out of control is to leave your phone in another room when you sleep.

1:31:01Can't do it? No. So my advice is to watch a television show and get invested into a television show or read a book or watch a movie. You know, like obviously you like to be alone with your thoughts and that's why you like your phone, right? You don't, you're making a face. You don't agree? Okay. So I would start a TV show. Start a TV show. Yeah, that's how I get off my phone. Specifically subtitled. Start dark so you can't go on your phone or else you don't know what they're saying. And don't dub it because that makes it worse. Have you ever seen dark? No. The greatest show of all time. You ever seen Lupin?

1:31:38It's a French Netflix show. No, but I've heard of it. What's that about? Like it's based on a book series, a very famous French book series. Called? Lupin. And he's like a detective slash thief. Whatever. It's so good. You must watch it. I'll watch it. Ever since being hired I've been making an effort To be friends with my manager But she's made it so hard With her attitude But I always just gave her The benefit of the doubt A couple of weeks ago She fired the closest friend I work with And ever since It's been so awkward Mind you We're the same age And it seems like She's just trying to get rid of me She wasn't always like this By the way But last night She just blamed her fuck up On me to the big boss Now I'm in trouble What do I do Quit if you can That sounds horrible Or tell on her The same age details Yeah She's like trying to like Be better than Yeah Not a vibe Hey Jake and guest, I'm 23 and wondering how does one get over the fear of being loved and start to open up for a potential relationship?

1:32:31I'm a happy person but feel so isolated from others because I don't get dating. Like it often seems embarrassing and like a waste of time and I'd rather just stick to myself. However, I know I can't live like this forever so what are some tips? I have none so I'm just gonna, that's for you. It is a scary thing to open up and be vulnerable with people and to allow the possibility of heartbreak down the line should it not work out. Yolo. Really? Yeah. You only live once. Do you remember when that dropped? That was fire. The world shifted. It's kind of like Ed Hardy now. It's ironic. You could say it and it's funny.

1:33:10But at the time? At the time it was serious. It was very serious. but I do think that that's kind of true though it's like you know what's that famous quote is it better to not try never loved at all that one what's your favorite quote of all time favorite quote of all time well it's from my favorite movie of all time Good Will Hunting I had to go see about a girl great line what is it so Robin Williams tells Matt Damon's character a story about how he didn't go to this baseball game with all his friends. It was a legendary game that he missed. All his friends were upset with him for not going.

1:33:54Matt Damon's basically like, what did your friend say? Nothing. What did you tell him? He told him I had to go see about a girl. Later on in the movie, Matt Damon does the same thing. Takes that leap of faith. Goes and chases after this girl. He leaves a note for his old friend oh my god i don't think i've ever seen goodwill hunting well you just saw it i just i know the one-man play beautiful it's a great great movie i think my favorite quote of all time is the banana peel one i have love that um maybe the quote that hannah says about wait what do i have a favorite quote it's probably the lena denham one anything you could have said to me i've already said to myself 10 times in the past hour also i don't even know if that's right But also the entirety of the Taylor Swift song, The Archer, that entire thing as a quote, I could have that tattooed all over my body.

1:34:49All of my enemies started out friends. Help me hold on to you. That's nice. And that really does it for me. That was the end of the tell me what's wrong. That was fun. Did you have fun? I had a great time. I had a really good time with you. I'm glad to hear that. Did you have a good time? I had a great time with you. Okay, cool. It was super fun. Learned a lot.

1:35:13What did we learn today? I learned about plotting against your manager. And that was crazy, actually. Right? Kind of wild. No, I learned a lot about you. I got to ask you a lot of questions as well, which was nice. Which I hoped it would be conversation and less like an interview. So I'm glad it was a nice conversation. Did you feel as so it was? I felt like we had a great conversation. I learned a lot about you. Okay. I learned a lot about you too and I kind of want to like hang out now. Yeah, let's go get Indian food. Should we? Would you? I have to go sign CDs. No, not right now. Totally. Like I meant like, you know, eventually.

1:35:49Sign CDs. I have to go handprint albums actually which is in theory it was like a really fun idea because there's a song called Handprints in the album. It's great. Thank you. I swear to God, like doing this over and over again for like two or three hours I'm getting carpal tunnel in my hand. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Well, I learned about the Disney Channel games and sent it on. love it and I also learned about the process behind your new album Sunday Best which is out now out now and Nick break a leg on Broadway thank you and thank you for coming on Therapus thanks for having me bye please
