In short

Alix and Ashton Earle discuss their Netflix reality show Earl Meets World (8 episodes, premiering Sept 4), how filming felt different from their online personas, and what changed for them personally during production and summer. They also trade stories about Europe (especially Sardinia and Ibiza), family dynamics, podcast/rights drama, and dating/social growth.

Guests (backgrounds)

Alix Earle and Ashton Earle are sisters and major social-media influencers. They star in Earl Meets World, which follows their family and friends. The episode also references their father, their mom, and their brother Braxton, plus friends like Sally, Stas, Stella, and others.

Key claims

Filming made them nervous because cameras captured “intimate moments” and limited control; Ashton says she was in “defense mode” early and became more comfortable later. Alix says she felt “drained” by her podcast and switched to vlogging. They argue the show shows their family’s real conflicts, not a “normal” family.

Notable examples

Ashton’s first filmed scene was Braxton’s breakup/moving out with multiple camera people while she sobbed. A “break up with bad margs” Valentine’s campaign idea got filmed but didn’t go live. Ashton describes a complicated podcast/rights dispute that ended with rights returned after online backlash. They discuss Europe’s dating culture (men being more forward) and Ibiza’s “black hole” vibe (8 days).

0:26Why does it? You guys, why don't you switch halfway? You don't have a bad side. Ashton.

0:37I can't. Just please, I can't hear about it this whole time. Please switch with her. Please. This is my therapist. Like, I'm going to be talking to you like this the whole time. But like, if I'm talking like this. You look beautiful from this side. We got to get going. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. Eyes. Cheers to Earl Meets World out on Netflix September 4th. Eyes. Eyes. Is our all camera set? Is everyone good? Is everyone happy? No. Why don't we take a big sip? Okay. One, two, three.

1:13That's good. Delish. So how are you guys feeling? I'm chugging that. About Earl Meets World out soon. Woo! I watched the whole thing. Are you feeling better than you felt before watching it? I felt better once you watched it and you were like, oh, I like it. I loved it. Oh, thanks. Is there anything like that you guys wish you spoke about more? Oh, so we're just getting right into it. Like I didn't even get an introduction. Like what happens? He's just like so small every day. Alex, Earl, Ashton, Earl. You guys don't need an introduction. Do you want one? Yeah. Okay. Alex and Ashton are two of the biggest influencers, soon to be reality stars in the world.

1:58With their new show, Earl Meets World, out on Netflix September 4th. It is eight episodes and it follows around your family and your friends. I'm so excited. Okay, so what made you feel better about it? I think once I finally got to see the whole thing and I was like, okay, it's coming out, it's happening. I don't know I think like I was so nervous about it's just a different side like you would agree right it's like a different side than you would see of me online it's very different but it should be if it was the same side of you online then we'd have a problem I know but like I'm scared for people to be like oh my god she's a bitch I actually did not think you came off as a bitch at all did you think she came off as a bitch I didn't watch it in the moment where you like well I always think Alex is a bitch she's my sister yeah but the thing is like you know what's crazy is you I think I had like I just didn't know what filming a reality show was like before we actually started like I had such a different idea in my head I thought it was just like I don't know like cameras rolling all the time 24 7 like we were kind of fitting it into our schedule which I think I would do differently next time like I think I would like clear off three months and just only film and be like cameras up because we were like oh okay we'll film this weekend we'll film this weekend so it was like pretty jumpy and in the beginning I was so nervous like I think the first like few episodes I don't think I smile or speak I remember you were kind of awkward and I was really surprised I every I'm telling you I'm the worst on the show like everyone in my family shines and I'm like I don't think that's true at all I was just so nervous in the beginning like it was scary and the first thing we filmed was like the breakup and moving out of Braxton's and that was like a really really hard moment for me and I was like oh my god and there's like 10 camera people here staring at me like sobbing and snotting so that was like it just took a second to get used to I guess yeah but by the end you were like free crying you were you were not scared the whole season yeah but like it felt it felt to me different than your content a lot different I know that's what I'm scared about wait why it should be the in my mind it should be the opposite if it's the same if it's the same thing as your content then it all it takes is for one person to turn it on and be like well I guess I could just watch it on TikTok.

4:12Right. But like, I'm just afraid of people hearing me like complain and like, that's like, whatever. I don't care. It's funny. It makes you relatable. Everyone complains. How was Europe? That was the best two weeks of my life, I think. I know. I know. I know. I really needed that as a reset. And I think we need to move there. Alex kept saying that you weren't at dinner the other night. Alex kept saying like, okay, like we could do Italy. I'm like, Alex, you're not buying property in Italy. What if we did? I mean, Alex, the way you would call me at 7am and you'd be at a party and you're like, you have to come.

4:41Everyone's asking for you every day. And I like couldn't come. It's just better there. Everyone's better. The guys are better. The guys are better, aren't they? Mm-hmm. Like, they just don't make them like that here. What do you mean? Like, they're just more forward. Yeah, I feel like they're more like outgoing. They are more forward. Like, they don't care. Like, they are just, I just like how they, like guys here won't like, just go up to you and be like, you're beautiful. They like want you to go up to you. Yeah, in Europe, it's like, they like don't play games. Yeah, they're like, Yeah, sexy.

5:11Fuck me. Yeah. And you're like, all right. I love it. I wish that the cameras were up. I wish the cameras were up in Europe. Oh, my God. I don't. Oh, my gosh. It was so great, though. I mean, I, like, had a really good time. I told you. I know. Yeah. You've had a good summer. You've had a great summer. And you had an unenjoyable summer last summer. Wait. What did I do last summer? No, no, no. No. Was it us that had a bad summer last summer? I didn't leave my bedroom last summer. Last summer was bad for us. I remember I called Ashton every day being like, I hate my life. And Alex was like, you guys are so, like, all you do is complain.

5:48I would literally lay in bed every day, not move. Oh, Ashton was depressed last summer. Yeah. It's because we were having, we were having like a come down from brat summer. Yeah. So then it was like, oof, like this summer is just never going to be that good. Yeah. And then I completely outdid brat summer this summer. I know. You did. I honestly had a great summer too. You did. I didn't even do Europe. Do you feel like you had a summer? Yes, you did. I felt like my summer kind of started and ended like, well, okay. It was that our Monaco weekend into the next week. I forgot about that. Best week of my life.

6:22I forgot that started our summer. That started our summer, which makes me feel a part of the summer in some way because that did start it and I was there for that. You would have had. I know. I miss out on a lot of trips this year. Ashton, what do you have to tell us about your summer? I've had a great summer. Oh, yeah. what do you have to tell us about your summer? I feel like I've made a lot of new friends. And like anyone in particular? No. Okay.

6:53Every time I go to drink, I laugh. It's just hard because it's like, you know what I will say is I felt like I made a lot of new friends this summer. A lot of new friends. I made a lot of friends. This was the summer of making new friends. I think I ventured out of my comfort zone. I feel like I got more social. You got way more social. You've done a complete 180 this year. And I think because everyone was like, oh my God, every time I meet you, I think you are such a bitch. Because I don't speak. Because I am afraid. I think when I meet people, they don't want to meet me. So I just don't. Wait, what do you mean by that?

7:28I think when I'm meeting people in my head, they don't want to be talking to me. So then I get awkward and don't say anything. But now I'm better. You're a shy person. I will say when we first met you, we weren't shy. You weren't shy. I went right up to your room and we had the best night ever. Because you were having a panic attack. So I had to be like okay. Totally. What else was new? What was your favorite city you visited in Europe? Honestly, Sardinia was really pretty. Yeah. It was beautiful there. Especially after we got out of Ibiza, which felt like at the end of it like a black hole. I mean, how long were you in Ibiza?

8:00Eight days. Oh my God. I think that was not good. Did you go out every night?

8:08yes one night I took off and it was like I went on like a little dinner date but that was like not partying but then we did go to a party but only for like 30 minutes okay is there anything on the show that you're like I wish I did I said this I wish I didn't say this well I think like looking back now even in some of my because how we did our interviews which is like the confessionals we did it like throughout the season and one I just wish I like put on some like makeup and blew out my hair for them they were like we wanted to be like really chill like you're like sitting on the couch natural and then I'm like looking at it on the big screen and I'm like oh my gosh maybe not but uh we would film them throughout so I think like I could have been a maybe like a little bit more comfortable I was more comfortable towards the end I would say but you forget and like in the moment it feels so scary because you film a conversation for like an hour right you think that everything is going to be in there and like you get out every single point and it's like there's like a minute or maybe two minutes of the conversation that actually makes it into the show so I think that was also stressing me out too of like I could not even possibly get all my points across if I wanted to because it's like all gonna get cut out um and even things that we filmed like there was Braxton and I filmed this which I told you about this before but we filmed this um like Valentine's Day campaign for St.

9:30Mark's I remember this what happened to that it just it we he ended up not wanting to do it anymore after we did it so we filmed the whole thing and we also like filmed it for the show like I was talking about it it wasn't like done for the show but was he mic'd up like was he on the show no okay um but we were doing this valentine's day campaign which when braxton and i broke up we were like very amicable very good and we came up with this idea and i was like this would be so fun and we're both investors and sit margs and like it'll be great but basically the idea was like break up with bad margs and it looks like we're breaking up with each other but we end up breaking up with the margs whatever it was like so it's like a split screen and it's alex and braxton talking and they're like, I just don't think this is working.

10:16I don't think this is data. I don't think blah, blah, blah. And then you zoom out and it's like, it looks like we were talking to each other, breaking up with each other. But when you zoom out, we're like not in the same booth. Like I'm talking to like a bad margarita and so is he. And it was just, it was all my idea and it was so phenomenal. And then it ended up not going through last minute, but that was something we filmed for the show of like talking about like behind the scenes after of like oh my gosh this isn't going live and what are we gonna do and now like the smorgas doesn't have anything to do for the show that didn't make it in the show you guys fought a bunch on the show did we should i watch it i'm like scared you not you i like i'm too scared to watch it you you got in a fight about a few i'm about to fight her because she told me she was going to bring me one of those shirts well i made these shirts she had another one that said no comment legally and i was gonna wear it i how good is that wait it's cute you're sisters i wanted to have my own moment sorry so we fought a lot on the show a little like you like you fought about her staying with you and then you fought about when she leaked um you fought you fought when you she leaked the real actives which in the moment i don't even want to talk about it okay like we could talk about it but like don't ask who's right or who's wrong because I'm gonna freak out you think you're right still no it's not that big of a deal it was the full bottle it wasn't it was like half a second of me like with the full bottle did anyone in the comments catch it no it was up for like one minute and she lost her bazongas on me she screamed you could have handled it more nicely I couldn't have screamed I was texting you you were texting in all caps I was about to say when you um pretend to look for another manager on the show with your dad did he fully buy into that or did he like oh because I could read it on his face that like he thought this was real he was purple I've never seen my dad that worried in his life are you nervous for the show to come out I'm terrified I was really nervous and now I've decided to just like let go and let God it's happening it's out like it's already happening what am i gonna do nothing this is a good time for us to move to europe that's what i said we could go in september and go away for no what i think you should do is cameras up immediately cameras up for reactions like cameras up immediately now because like the reaction to it is going to be interesting you talk about a lot that you do not speak about online yeah you don't publicly say anything about like you're like you'll be like you'll say things like I'm upset I'm going through it I broke up but you don't you really get into it on the show I know that's why it's scary but we tried to just like trust the process a little bit I mean I don't know if I should say this either but like when we were filming and I was like hanging out with someone and they would like always like want me to like talk about it I do think like I can expose myself but there's like a point when it comes to like other people that like I don't want to expose their privacy are you nervous about that no okay I feel like you were nervous now I'm like like I should have just like spoke in the moment you were nervous I do remember that you were really can I be honest that's not really a big plot point of the show yeah a big plot point of the show is Braxton your breakup with him moving on from him you figuring out what you want to do I still don't know.

13:51You want a model. I loved that storyline. Really? Yeah. Was it like weird and crudgy? No, it's what you wanted to do. It's what you want to do. I think it's so sweet. Like, you're so sweet in the show. And I'm like, aw, Ashton. I feel like I'm weird and annoying and gross. What? Why do you think that? I don't know. Every single one of you is so concerned about how you come off in the show. And it's really insane to me. Like, Sally was freaking the fuck out. I don't know why Sally's freaking out. What's Sally like in the show? Great. She's just your best friend. Quiet on the creek.

14:28Is that supposed to be a secret for the show? I think that's a secret. Okay, that's a secret for the show. Sorry, bleep it, but keep the shh, because that was funny. I think going back and looking back at the beginning of filming, it felt like I was always in defense mode, because I'm so used to having full control over my content and what I put out, and that's just like how I've always done things I don't even have anyone that helps me with like my socials like I just like to do it all myself and so I think like stepping into something else where I'm like oh my gosh like they have full control over all this stuff and I'm like putting so much trust and intimate moments of my life like in the hands of other people felt so scary so I felt like I was always like on defense in the beginning and then I feel like you just have to kind of like trust the process and let go and like that was something that happened with the Alex Cooper stuff is like in the beginning they were like we want to talk about this like whatever and I was like I I told production I was like I'm not talking about this at all like first of all it's irrelevant that was like a year or two ago at this point and I was just like I'm not talking about it I don't want to like there's no point in bringing this up and then after Coachella when everything like unfolded it just like happened to be a part of the moment of when we were filming so I was like I'm just gonna like go for it and lean into it and I did but I think like I don't know that's like also something that stresses me out a lot that I'm like I don't even want to deal with it and like I don't even care I think it's just like that is a tough moment I'm happy like we captured and we're able to like get the behind the scenes of all the feelings and stuff but it's like it's over Jake you're in the show right I'm in the show I'm in the show with the Russian Russian center that was crazy yeah just like got complicated was complicated got more complicated wasn't like just wasn't a good working relationship I could put out new episodes but they were still under unwell so they were still like getting the monetization from that and she couldn't and I couldn't own it myself and they were in no rush really to hand it back to me because they they wanted me to like sign a NDA like release agreement with had an NDA so we were working that out and it was just like a little complicated of how we parted so that's why I said I was like I'm not gonna say anything I'm not gonna say that they dropped me I'm just gonna like keep my mouth quiet and I just said I'm gonna start vlogging like for right now it was basically a strike for my podcast I was like until we figure out how to do this and like I don't want to keep putting out episodes for you guys even though the public thinks I'm not with you which was like so confusing at the time I was like I'll just basically go on strike and like do vlogs so I made a post and was like I'm gonna put my podcast on pause I'm gonna do vlogs and all the comments went crazy of like uh Alex must have not given you something back like yada yada yada Matt texted me and was like said something rude and then and then Alex went on TikTok and was like this is a lie Alex Earl owns all her whatever.

17:32Oh, no, it was a story. All the rights to her thing. And then the next morning, they miraculously, like, handed everything back to me. And he had emailed me being like, we were trying to give this to you for weeks. And it was like, okay. So. But honestly, your vlogs are so much better. Yeah, I honestly hated the podcast. Remember when I had to do it with you? That was so bad. But it was like, I don't, I think it just like, I got into it from like, just not the right, like I, you don't feel this way from your podcast. I felt drained after like six months. I was like, oh my God, like, I feel like I'm exploiting every part of my life in like a way I don't want to.

18:11And like, even just to try to get like a good story, other people and other things just to have like a good story. And like, I was like, I don't know, look at another, like part of my life I can share that. Like, I felt like empty, like is the only way I can explain. I was like, I feel like I'm just like exposing myself to like get some views on this and that was not like what I wanted and then I also didn't really want to interview people and I like suck at that so I was like that's not an option and then I was like Ashton you're gonna podcast with me and I did like talking and connecting with people and like when I did get to share like the vulnerable moments in my life I loved it but it just like started from such like I just had the wrong mindset with it like even going into it um Alex was like don't uh get a boyfriend Braxton she was like don't date him because like it's going to be more entertaining to be single and like podcast so you could talk about your dating life and your sex life and I was like I don't want to talk about that online so like dating sure but sex no and I just think I like was taught maybe like not the best habits for it and like it just was like wasn't a well-oiled machine in the beginning there was just like a lot of a lot of things um well I just remember you came to do my show for the first time and you saw Nolan and you said who is that and I said well Alex that's my podcast producer I said I don't have one of those what do you mean you don't have one of those you said what do you mean like when I did Alex's podcast she was like we're like literally like on the ground like screwing things in cameras and microphones she literally would like carry three microphones or cameras I don't know I was giving them 50 to just hand me the cameras and do it even the setup I had in my room I had to like set up all the cameras in my college bedroom and yeah I remember I went to Europe and I was there with like I think it was like Josh Richards and Gabby and I was like showing them like how I was lugging around this suitcase for my cameras and they were like what are you doing?

20:13I was like really like you don't do this? I'm so confused. Cause does Barstool give Josh like do they like I'm sure there's like a camera crew and a studio Right. I'm tired of beating the god damn dead horse like I would like to move on. Let's move on. Let's move on. Should we cheers to moving on? Yeah. Cheers to moving on Cheers to moving on

20:39you have a crush I'm having a little crush and I really like like it I like it too I've never met them I like it too and it makes me sick to my stomach really what does it feel like to have a crush like I'm having anxiety because I feel like I'm having a real crush and I don't what does that why does that give you anxiety because that's scary because of I like to be alone you really It's just easier that way. Why do you find that to be easier? Because like, then you can't get your feelings hurt. Like I get like anxious. So it's a defense thing. Yeah, of course. Okay. I understand that. You know, you get anxious.

21:15Like what if, I don't know, something happens and then I'm upset. Can I say how I view that? Like, I'm like, oh great. I can relate to more sad music. True. Do you know? Because you know, I was never like. You were never a big Swifty. Okay, no. or just sad music in general like i was like turn it the fuck off like i don't want to feel this way yell at me every single day all of a sudden now it's like if you go to my recently played it's just like all the most depressing music you could find and like it was like sienna spiro i'm like oh thank god like pure i love putting in my headphones looking out the window pretending like i'm in a movie oh my god isn't it the best yes and i'm like i feel sick to my stomach like Like, sad music makes me feel, have you heard the new, well, girl, we got to get you there.

22:02Have you heard the new Phoebe Bridgers album? No. I've heard clips of it. Of the one song. My God. She's not ready for that. Alice, you would actually love it. I don't know if she's ready for that. She might be. Cheers to that. There was a point this year where I was on All Too Well 10-minute version. Oh, that was a dark time for you. That was really bad. You had a dark time. Oh, and you know what's another thing about this show? that may have been like I don't want to say like the darkest period of my life because that's a little dramatic but like that was the most like not like myself that I felt and to the point where when we filmed and then we took like a month break or so and then I came back and I filmed more like confessional stuff the producers were like huh they were like I've never seen you like this like I've never seen you like so funny and giggly and whatever like I'm telling you like I was like a sad mean angry little witch while we were filming like I was I was so stressed out I didn't want to go out I didn't like anything like I just wasn't happy and so yeah great that we had cameras up we also like started filming in January and I remember the producers called me before we started filming and they were like so like tell me about what's going on in your personal life and I was like I haven't like left the house in weeks like I don't have a personal people like not want to watch it's okay no the show is amazing first of all and my favorite episode besides the one that i'm in because that one's a great one is episode eight yeah episode eight is i think i like episode seven the final scene of episode eight the entire room when we were watching it got up and screamed oh i'm so excited it was just cinema i can't even watch like it was just it's also like you know what's crazy about it is like I'm watching it and I'm like holy fuck like I'm so stressed out for her like that was like actually like there were so many moments during the show that I was like I literally like don't want to be doing this in front of the cameras right now but like I'm just gonna like pull the trigger and do it like that was so fucking scary like that was that was literally like you can see me like looking at the ceiling while I'm talking like I was so nervous oh my god and then the scene in episode seven too like there was some times where I'm just like what's in episode seven um between me my mom and my sister like oh just like there was some times where it was like I really I was like we just got to rip the band-aid off and go here but like there was times where production was like we'll step out of the house and we'll just give you guys yeah after that they were like okay we're gonna give you guys a minute and we're like I was like yeah well that was intense I mean I know you to be hysterical but I thought this show showed you to be really funny what Alex I you know I think you're hysterical i don't think i smiled once the whole show yeah but like tell me tell me throughout the season when you saw a smile on my face no yeah you can't name one one moment i smiled during the show wait you do smile a few times what about like when we were you smile when you're with your sisters and you're yeah and your younger brother but like i just don't think i was really myself so i would like a second chance well i actually think it was interesting the way you shift throughout the season because you started filming in january and you finished filming in what may or june yeah like may that was a crazy period of growth in your career in general so like you can see that and it's fascinating to watch no i'm happy we have it captured i would just like well now i don't care like i also feel like i was so stressed out about the concept of a show in the beginning and like i said like letting go of that control and now i I think I've like kind of know seen it.

25:41I've seen how it comes together. I understand it. Like I just understand how it works a little more. You know, like there were times where it's like, okay, like, you know, like you guys really have to talk about this. And I'm like, I don't want to fucking talk about it. Like we usually just sweep things under the rug in this household. Like I don't want to talk about it. So in the moment it felt really hard, but now I see like the beautiful thing and how it has all come together. So I like it a lot more now. Like I like the process more now. I just was confused in the beginning. Like you've got the bassist out of the way.

26:10Like that was like difficult at times. There's a Ryan Beattie lyric. Do you listen to Ryan Beattie? No. You would love him. And it says, What about me? What? You would like him. You would like him. It's very sad. That's the saddest it gets. Oh, okay. He says, Letting go of what you hold holds you just the same. Okay, so let me break it down for you. I need an analysis. This is the second time I've done this. So if - Letting go of what you hold. So I'm holding on to this, let's say I'm holding on to this like version of myself that I'm protecting and these things that I'm holding back. Once I let go of that and trust fall, it'll hold you the same way that you were holding what you were grasping on so strongly to begin with.

26:57Why though? Because it's about not needing something to hold on to. Like letting go of what you hold holds you just the same. because at the end of the day, like you're still going to be alive and breathing in your body no matter the situation. Like the circumstances might change. So like no matter what changes around you, like you can still control the way like you take care of yourself. I don't know. That's how I hear it. I feel like it's kind of like trusting the process. Alex is like, no. It's about trusting the process. No, no, yes. And I feel like holding on to your past like just holds you back in a way.

27:30That. That's it. Like letting go of what you hold holds you just the same. Like don't be worried that letting go of something that you think has kept you safe, you'll no longer be safe. This thing that you're letting go of that you think is keeping you safe, you'll still be safe. Yes. I love it. I love it. Have you ever been like, I want a soda that's sour but also sweet? Yeah, I bet you have. And you know who heard that request? Poppy. With only five grams of sugar, Poppy's Sour Apple is quite simply one of the best sodas I've ever had in my entire life. If you know me, you know I love sour more than anything in the entire world.

28:18And sour can only last so long. You do need a kick of sweet in order to fully round out the experience. and Poppy's Sour Apples is just that. It's refreshing, it's sour, it's sweet and it's perfect for any season. I really do commend Poppy with how they've completely rebranded the soda industry. It's insane, it's insane what they've done. I always talk about this but like literally a few years ago, like I would go into bodegas in New York and I literally couldn't find Poppy's anywhere. Like I couldn't find them on Uber Eats, I couldn't find them on Postmates, I couldn't find them anywhere and now Poppy is everywhere because it is that good.

28:55They continue to raise the bar every time and Sour Apple is no different. It is actually one of the best things I've ever had in my entire life. Like a sour soda, my dream. Soda's back, but so much better. Poppy, Sour Apple. Get it in your local store or on Amazon today. But are you happy overall with the show and how it came out? Yeah, I am. I think like I'm also happy all the episodes are dropping at once. Yeah. So you can get the like more well-rounded version than just like one episode at a time, I think, which stressed me out a little bit more. So yeah, I like that it's all coming out. I watched it in the day.

29:32Also, I'm really excited. Like I truly am for people to see like our family dynamic is definitely not normal. And I think like we're very comfortable with each other. But there's also still like a lot of problems that we have and stuff we need to work through. and I think like if I was younger going through this divorce again with my parents like I would have loved to see something like this and be like wow like there is either hope of where we can get to or you can find like just something to relate to and like okay wow like they still like fight like this and like I don't know like I just I think it would have been comforting to me so I think that makes me feel really like secure and putting it out even though I know it's going to be like whatever people are gonna say but I I know that like I would have liked it if I was younger I think that's what kind of made the Kardashians so big was that like people saw like people were like oh I guess it's like normal to scream and fight with your family like this because like I remember I remember when I was growing up like like my mom and daughter could kill me but like we would scream scream scream and fight at each other all the time and I lived in like this very suburban neighborhood where all these families were like having dinner together every single night we didn't do that like we don't have we didn't have dinners together every single night like it wasn't just like the normal family experience so I think being able to watch something from someone that people look up to or want to be like and have it not be a normal family experience is like reassuring I think it's a beautiful way to look at it and my mom is like dating and Todd and like well I don't know it's just I I love it so and I think like the little kids really do just bring such like levity to it all like i love that like penelope thank god they are seriously stars they're stars wait who's your favorite character in the show alissa honestly yeah i texted you eight season one right i texted you and i said alissa that's my girl yeah this is my girl she's just like i don't know i think she carries she goes through life she carries herself with such grace she carries herself well she's like funny but like she doesn't try to be.

31:35She just is. You can always tell when a person has a lot of love and they're not putting it on for the camera and that's just kind of who they are and that's your mom to me. And I also just like personally love your mom a lot. Oh, she's the best. She'll be so happy to hear that. I love you. Alyssa, I love you. She likes all my Instagram stories. Oh, she does that with everyone. Okay, well, she likes mine a lot. Yeah, she makes them feel special. Even like people, I'm like, mom, you can't. Like she's like liked comments before even like about like. Oh my God, I can't. Like she likes everything.

32:05She liked comments that were mean about Ashley. And she was liking them. I'm like, mom, you can't do this. Like this is public that people can see you're liking this. And she was like, I didn't know. And I'm like, stop. Like she gets crazy with the double tap. She still likes all of Braxton's posts. Does she really? She still texts my ex-boyfriend from high school. She's like, she has too much love to give. Can I say that that. She's filled with love. And we love that about her. Are you nervous for Braxton to see the show? No. You just don't care. We had conversations, like, about everything that, like, he knows everything that's in it.

32:39Because I told him. He knows everything that's in it. So, whatever. Nothing was malicious. It was your life. No. I said to him, I said, this is basically a brochure to date you. I said, you're fucking welcome. I was like, okay. I'm pissed. I mean, you do miss him a lot in the show. Right. Anyway, how's your love life? Mine? Fine. Like, you know it's not good. it's not not good I've actually been focusing more on my friends good I've been focusing more on my friends I'm like whatever like lovers will come lovers will go do you have a lover right now no I have no one what are you talking what are you laughing about she asked me no she didn't okay

33:29How's your love life Alex? No, I've been talking too much. No, no, no. How was your love life? No, how's your love life? Please, how's your love life? How was your love life? How's your love life? Good. I just like, I don't like have a love. I'm just like, like I'm not like talking to anyone. but I'm like um talking to at least people she's talking to multiple people like there was a second there where I was like this is getting scary right but now at least there's like I've been like whoa okay there's humans out there right but like it's kind of fun to not be like I don't know I'm so picky and not like needing to have a boyfriend so it's just like I actually think by like going out and like going on dates, it's so easy to write people off is what I think.

34:25Like, I don't know. I'm so picky with stuff that like I can go out to dinner with a guy and be like, he did like three things I don't like. Like I don't need to talk to him anymore. I mean, but in your defense, that one date you went on was the worst thing I've ever heard in my entire life. So that was like, that was out of the show. What did he do again? He brought you to Starbucks? No, and he didn't have a plan for seven hours. So I got car sick and then we drove around in circles and then he asked me after seven hours of talking if I did OnlyFans. And I was like, okay, I guess you're not listening.

34:55Which also is Alex's worst nightmare, just like driving aimlessly, like listening to music down the beach. Her worst nightmare. For five hours, first of all, it's not like I would like it with someone I liked. But he kept saying to me, I don't know what else to ask you. I was like, okay. Also, like, we're the type of person where it's like, we're very similar in the sense that like, like the other day, even at dinner, where it's like, everyone was like, why are you paying the check now? And you're like, no, I like that this happens. We just like, you like having a plan. I just like, also that's my main attraction and a guy is a doer.

35:28Like someone who can like, just do it. Like just get things done. I know. And so he was not, he was an undoer. He was not doing anything. What was everyone's favorite weekend of the summer? I mean, it has to be when we were in Monaco. Yeah, it was the best time of my life. like that was the best trip ever I saw you open up in a way that I hadn't seen since the breakup what do you mean like you you were solemn for a few months you were sad oh yeah and we you talked about it with Stas but we went on that trip we didn't bring a single plus one it was you me Stas and Stella and it wasn't even about like guys like there weren't like that wasn't the focus of it the focus of it was like i like we're like conquering we're having fun like we're doing whatever and i think with that then the guys followed i think honestly no offense to you no that's fine but i think like sauce really you guys becoming friends was really really good for you i completely like you really like change like you guys are such a dynamic duo and it makes me so happy seeing you guys together and i feel like she really like helped you out of your like weird phase she really did well because she doesn't let you she doesn't let you be in that weird phase like i remember when i got to monaco i was in my brace and i was so upset about it and she said bitch i went to the white party in a boot i said okay i guess yeah and then i was like and She's a fucking braise.

37:07Yeah, like she was like, she just doesn't, she's like. She's also like your type A boyfriend because she handles everything and like always has a plan and always figures everything out. She's like a good mother. She's a good mother. She really brought it out of you in a really, really, really awesome way. And then when I left you guys. Then. I was like. Then. I was like, they're about to embark on the most beautiful summer of their lives. And they did. Yeah, we had so much fun. That was my favorite couple. I think like meeting new friends this summer was a really big thing for me me too yeah I met a lot of new people I was in like Paris alone for two weeks yeah how was that it was it was really fun it was scary I didn't like have friends I met like Max I met my new friend Emily but we this was the summer of like making new friends and I think sometimes it's you and I I think specifically relied on our friends from college and then each other.

38:06Well, I always felt so, because I like to keep my circle close and small. And like, once I have my friends, I'm like, I don't need to like go make new friends. But I think like, I got too trapped in the mindset of feeling so comfortable that like, I wasn't branching out. And I became like a little antisocial, which you wouldn't think that I'm antisocial. But like, you know what it is too, is we're still so young. And I don't know why I got in a mindset of like, I don't know, like we, we are settled in our ways or we're so like adults now and like everything. And I'm like, oh my gosh, there's so much life yet to live.

38:39And like, we can still make new friends and meet new people and go out with new groups. And like, nothing has to be set in its ways. And I think that's beautiful. I think one part of the show that honestly really struck a chord with me was when you were talking to your dad about like, you were like, I'm 25. and I feel all like you've done all these incredible things, but I'm pretty sure you said you're like, I don't feel it. You know what I mean? Like you're, I think, tell me if I'm wrong, but you were feeling like the typical post-grad is like you live in a city and you stay there and you make all these friends and you meet all these people and like you're traveling all the time and it was hard.

39:16But I think this summer you embraced that being a part of your life. And once you embrace that being a part of your life and being like, you're with me, or you can follow me, and you can come with me, and whoever comes into my life can come into my life. Once you embrace that, am I making sense? No, I feel like you really lived for yourself this summer, and I feel like your whole career you've kind of lived for what you're doing, and you're being a little selfish and not caring about what you're doing. Yeah, but I'm still of all my friends. Oh, no, of course. No, I'm not saying about your friends.

39:48You too, no. I'm not saying about your friends. I'm saying about like you're a phenomenal friend you're both amazing friends you're a great friend too you are the best I always say that about you I'm like you are such like a loyal friend and it's so hard to find and I can't believe I found you so early on it was fate I mean it was really fate because I I'll never ever forget it we were in Alex's bathroom in LA and she looked at me a year and a half ago and goes bitch you need to grow thicker skin she goes if you actually want to do this like I can't hear about this anymore and it wasn't in like a like in a in an angry way like tell you like you need to grow thicker skin right I mean at some point you need to just like let go of what everyone is gonna have an opinion on something and that's like what we're here for right make everyone happy but also if no one has an opinion on you are you doing your job right right I guess not exactly Yeah.

40:45And it's like, even like, people have an opinion on everything. You made a new friend. And I mean, the discourse online about you making a new friend was insane. And as someone who was there to witness the new friendship be made, it was just, it couldn't have been further from the truth. Like, that's Stoss' humor. That's what makes Stoss Stoss. It's like her witty little, like, that's why we love her. I also just don't get the thing when people are like, you guys are mean to each other or like with any friend though, I'm like, do you not joke around with your friends? No, it's very strange. Like, I feel like you're not friends with someone if you can't like fuck around with them.

41:21When I talk to Peyton, she's like screaming at me and I'm like laughing and it's like, that's my best friend because that's what friendship is. Is that not what friendship is? No, it is. That's why me and Alex are like the closest. I think you're just like explaining it like a little aggressively.

41:40Oh, perfect goals. Let's read our Harscopes. Like CoStar? Yeah. Yes. Well, you don't have CoStar. I have this app called - Do you guys know yesterday it told me, like, it's okay to love multiple people at once? And I was like, hell fucking yeah. I'll go first. And I honestly, I've been using this app that I think that you guys might like more than CoStar. Because sometimes I feel like CoStar. No, come on, guys. It's called Chani, but it's really, really good. How do you spell that? C-H-A-N-I. Okay, ready? you guys this is why i'm telling you this app's the best you seem to have to you seem to have a take on every topic and your words carry extra weight today so by all means use them just don't forget to follow through translate all that talk into practical action the smaller and more sustainable the better your big ideas hit even harder when you act on them and i'm like you know i've been talking to you about stuff that i've been working on and they like seem small but they become big once you take action on them.

42:40Take that action. I love it. I will. What's yours? Or who wants to go next? I'll go. Okay. Desire creates the future. Stop waiting for conditions to be perfect before you make your move. The thing you've been putting off can actually be started today with whatever resources you have right now. Motion creates momentum. Do, eye on the prize, full stops, see it through. Don't, cold war, fisty cuffs, and down playing. Is that telling me my bracelets are ugly no that's telling you as someone who's now watched the show that i think you should really pursue modeling i think so too and there was something today happened and she was like nervous about it and i was like i think you should do it i mean like you need that's telling you like you're waiting for the condition the perfect show or the perfect this or the perfect that if you just do it do it that's all that matters right i'm gonna do it do it okay you can be the warm light that pours over everyone you love your natural warmth draws people close but not everyone who basks in your glow will return favor when you need it stop performing happiness for those who disappear when you're having a rough day do big tips soft focus hydration don't overstay opportunism name drop well damn

44:02fuck no i don't okay so cut the whole episode we didn't name drop no we definitely did we talked shit i don't think that's name dropping we definitely you could have name dropped a lot more than you have okay so i've been good you've been great oh i really like that one for you yeah that was beautiful there's always going to be people like that that like bask in your the glow that you create and that's why they will leave you on a moment's notice. And that's why for a while we were like, no new friends, no new friends. That's what we always said. We always say no new friends. But now we're like making new friends but like with a caution.

44:36Yeah. I think it's all about learning how to make new friends. I think, okay, I think we're - You know what? You. No. You. I was going to say, you can, I think something I've struggled with and I've learned from my mistakes is when I meet people, I tell them every single detail of my life and I tell them everything and I like, open up a million percent like I've realized now you can like meet people without like yes exploiting every single thing in your life like I've got to stop doing that nobody you can have so many friends like when I meet someone I'm like I want to tell you everything but also like I think we're accustomed to the college way of making friends because we all went to college and we making friends in college is very much like we went out this weekend we've spent the whole week together we have class together we're best friends that's not how it works in the real world you have to like uh hang out with like purpose like you have to like be you have to like purposefully make plans with people and the people that kind of just like are suddenly there all the time maybe aren't the best people like you both have is what i'm saying making sense oh you know what i'm really realizing right now how lucky i am to have you guys I'm so lucky to have you guys I really am like I really feel that way Like I don't know what I would do without you guys I really don't I don't know what I would do without you I mean you too but like But there's certain situations that I'm like I don't know who's in the world is gonna relate to this Besides you No seriously I'm like there's no one else I can speak to right now No We have had like a very similar Career upcoming Trajectory and like I think like It's so nice to have you by my side.

46:21But beyond that, as a friend in general, you just, I don't know. Honestly, you make me feel better because you're always stressed out about something. I know. I know. But when I go through something, you're right. We came up kind of at a similar time. And we're doing different things. But the audience we're presenting to are very similar. So there's no one else in this world that I can call and be like, How do you deal with this? Because the only person that knows how to deal with this is her. Jake. It's true. It's how I feel. I need to call Alex. She's the only person who will understand. I love you.

47:02I love you more. And I love you. I love you more. Sorry, I just hit you. Bitch. Sorry. Well, what are you guys therapist about today? I'm therapist about Alex taking that seat because she wanted her good side on camera. And now my bad side is facing the camera. Okay, but like every time we do something you always is it every time every time we take a picture every time we do anything She needs the goods because we have the same good side. No, you're beautiful on both No, and that's what I think you're beautiful Which is why I offer you the other side Alex. I'm not kidding. That is truth I don't think she has a bad side like I have a bad side.

47:36You don't have a bad side My bad side is like no no, I look like a gremlin. No, I I truly see so much beauty in you which is why i allow you to have both sides i promise like i swear i swear okay well what are you therapists about i was therapist about the shirt but i don't want to like also i like your shirt yeah you look really cute what is that shirt really i feel like i look like i'm from that 70s show oh i'm therapist that you both are like being weird about coming out tonight wait i have a when did i ever say i wasn't going out tonight today I said are you coming out tonight you said I don't know when right when you walked in I probably wasn't listening do you want to come out tonight yes let's go out let's black out I have to go to Germany tomorrow like please my flight's at 3 p.m.

48:23I can black out to the world okay well I have a birthday party with Sally but maybe we'll meet you after what about Alex well right the both of them are invited and not me I think if she knew you were in New York you would be invited I think she only texted me and Sally because she knows we live here. I'm a therapist about that. Okay. This is a theme with you. What? That you're never invited to the stuff. Because you're never around. But it's the thought that counts. Right. So here's something that happened on the show that you don't know. I cannot talk about this. I cannot talk about it. Me, I'm in New York staying at her apartment.

48:56She doesn't think to be like, oh, me and Sally are going to this thing tonight. Come. She's just like, we're going. You're never here. So like they didn't think to invite you. Yeah. But but you know I'm here, so invite me. It's not my birthday. I'm friends with her. Should I say Alex is here? Can she come? I don't want to go. This is what I mean. I knew you wouldn't want to go either. What am I therapist about? Maddie, do you know? God, I love Maddie. When Maddie entered your life, things shifted in a very, very good way. Yes, Maddie, you are an unsung hero. Like if I need to if I need help with something like I go Maddie is like she always is like it's just like fun because we're like, you know Like the same age and girls but like she always is like whenever I tell her anything about a guy She's like go do it like she like encourages like the worst behavior in the best way, but like it's so fun How was the white party this year so much fun like honestly I had the best night ever and that was the night I was again being like often very social and like making new friends with people and it was it's just such a long party you know it starts at five and then it goes until five in the morning so like it's there's like a lot of room for error um and it's it's so fun though that was like what started my summer I think I was like really in a dark place you were I always am but then Alex and Stas called me and they're like get I told her I'm gonna get you out of your depression and then I saw the person that she wanted to talk to and I flung my no even before that though I remember I got ready let me tell you how I got ready for that party and I was like wait I've never looked better and I felt amazing no let me tell you Ashton I was like there's that guy go talk to him and she's like no and I said okay I will make myself look like a lunatic because I don't need this guy to like me I need him to like you so I'm gonna look like a lunatic and then what's gonna happen here is you're going to swoop in and be like the cool put together like sexy one and you're going to talk to him so I'm like let's go like let's get a drink like whatever like getting this guy and I'm like talking his ear off and then the second that there was like someone was like Alex can I talk to you I like tapped her and I was like get in there like go like now so like I lured him to the bar with the three of us but she wouldn't speak for the first like 30 minutes so I was just rambling about god knows what and then the second I got an out I like tapped her and I was like perfect I'm leaving the bar to go talk to someone you get in there and now them separated in two months you're welcome you really haven't like we haven't so I've never like met someone and like just hung out with them every single day I for as long as I've known you I haven't seen it I don't like anyone the cutest thing ever but can you admit that it every time I have a crush on someone you make it happen because I can't do it myself I'm a really good wing woman for her you are It's different to anyone in general.

51:48I'm, like, really good at, like, hating men and not liking them. But if it's, like, I actually. She just won't do it. She won't talk. Have a crush on someone I, like, can't speak. You know what it is about you, and I've always said this about you? Uh-uh. Yeah. Okay, go first. What? I was going to say, where did we go the one night in L.A. where she really wanted to see this person? So we made our. I didn't want to go out this night. It made us go to this party. It made us get dressed up. It made us get into the party. Then I found the person that was talking to the person she wanted to talk to.

52:15so then she could talk and she blew it like just completely blew it she was a freak oh i was like i remember this i hadn't spoken to a boy at like like it was oh my god and i was so i was supposed to come with you guys yeah oh my god yeah and i was like that and i don't mean to call my sister a freak but like she's seriously i can be a freak i've never seen like a situation go down more poorly than this in my entire life like is she really just like out of a movie made this guy I get up and like actually be like, I'm going to go take a lap. What did you say to him again? I started like rambling, but I was like stuttering.

52:49Oh my God. It was like out of a movie. She told like one unfunny story, two unnecessary long, three, like it made no sense. There was no plot to the story. But you also, I love going out with you guys so much. It's because I feel so confident because you guys enter the room with such confidence. It's like when we're, wherever we go, it's like, yeah, like, you know, it's like you just, you lead the room. You enter the night with such like, I will do whatever the fuck I want. I don't care what the fuck anyone in this room says about me. And it, what's the word? Creates like an aura. Yeah, creates an aura.

53:30Except I don't really think I feel that way. I feel like you do. Sometimes when you have like a drink or two in you and you're like going out and walking in a place, you'll just be like. Alex is like shoulders back, tits up. It's the best thing on planet Earth. I literally feel like a superstar. Yeah. Walking behind her like this. And she is walking with her back arched and just scanning the room. She's in diva mode. It's great. There's some nights that I can turn it on. It's the best thing. Please turn it on tonight. I can. I actually can't tonight. You know where I think we should go tonight?

53:59Ledeve. Ledeve and then? Shay. Yeah.

54:05I'm trying to get the tell me what's wrong. You know. Oh. Why did I not know they came in like a printout letter? I think it's changed. Do you not watch Therapist? I do. No, she doesn't.

54:22This year I've decided to take a gap year before going to university because I don't know what I want to do with my life. None of my other friends are doing this and I'm sort of alone. Is this a good idea? And also, what would be some good things to do during this time? I don't want to waste it and I want to use it to learn something new maybe. I think it's a great idea. It's a great idea. You know who took a gap year and had a wonderful time doing so and still had a great college experience? Estella. Really? Yeah. Her and Elliot graduated one year apart from each other, but they're the same age because Estella took a gap year.

54:52And she was like, it was great. I had a great time. I mean, yeah. What I would say is, like, I feel like that point of your life is, like, about maturing and finding yourself. And, like, you go to college and I think you really come out on the other side. Like, everyone kind of goes down. Like, I feel like you go in. Everyone kind of seems, like, similar. Same. like you like the same things and you leave and everyone kind of like blossoms and goes on their own path and like if you want to take the time to like find out who you are during this stage like I don't think there's anything wrong with that no I think it's great also I think you could learn a new language you could learn a new like craft skill try some new hobbies I mean just try not to stay still I think is like the key to it like be doing shit the only thing I would say is like I feel like when people do something or put it off then they never go do it it's like are you going to take a gap year and go you can also like maybe she's like right maybe they're figuring out like where they want to go to school or like what they want to do I think it's a great time you can also like visit your friends and see like what they're doing you could travel you don't need to know what you want to do going into college like a lot of like getting into college for me was like very like I picked the major I applied with the major I thought would get me into the school I went in undecided and then I found what I liked.

56:07Yeah, it's not necessarily what I wanted to do. Well, I was there. I was just like, okay, which one is going to get me into the school? I'm going to pick that one. Like, you don't need to go into college knowing what you want to do. I had no idea what the fuck I wanted to do. I thought I had no idea what I wanted to do. And then at the end of my sophomore year, I was like, okay, I think I want to, I got this job in music and I was like, I'm going to work in music. And then that became my entire personality trait. And then this happened. Just like life happens. And I think take the time to travel.

56:33You're never going to have a, you are never going to have this year off ever again in your entire life. Yeah. I remember when we were going to college, Sally couldn't get into Charleston unless she did like a semester abroad. And she was like in the moment and felt like the biggest decision ever. And she was like, I can't do this, whatever. And I was like, just do it. Like, go, you're going to make so many amazing memories. You're going to meet so many amazing people. Like, just go do it. And then go to like, what is six months going to do? You know, like it seems like such a big deal in the moment, but like it's going to go by so fast.

57:03And she did it and she was like, I can't imagine if I didn't do that. Yeah, I think if you're able to, going abroad is a really great experience. Oh, I never got to do it. Well, I didn't do it. I loved it. Did you do it? I loved it. Where'd you go again? She loved it. Oh, yeah, I remember that. And even if you're, you know, taking a gap year, you could take a class and like even like a painting class or something or like learn the language of that country. Obviously, you know, if you're able to. But I loved it. And it was just so fun and it really got me out of my shell. I think it was really important for me as a person, especially because I was like more shy and awkward.

57:37I just went with like one friend and we kind of conquered. And it was great. You want to know what my favorite college story of Alex's of all time? What? When you visited her in Miami and you left your phone in her dorm so she could take you clubbing. Oh my God. We got in so much trouble that day. What happened again? Because Alex was a freshman in college. So I was a junior in high school. I was like 16, I think. and she was like we're going to the bars and dad was like you guys are not going out you know like whatever so my dad had our location so we were also going out at like 2 a.m we weren't just like going out at like 10 p.m we left the dorm at 2 a.m to go to the club yeah and so I left my phone in Alex's dorm room and I squeezed myself into like her sparkly high heels because my feet are two sizes bigger than hers and like put on one of her mini dresses and I was like we're going to the club we went to live we were in the dj booth and that was literally like my residency anywho I think dad found out that we went to the club so no the text I got from my dad like at this point which I was already in um hot water because when I went home for the break I like took this guy back to my dad's house and he saw on the cameras and like it was already like really bad and um he sent a text like that read me to filth like it was so mean because i promised my parents i wouldn't take her out and i did but what else were you supposed to do you're visiting her in college i know sitting on a class no and like at that point like what are you doing if you're visiting college no and that's why alex is the best big sister ever because it was like we were safe like we were in the most secured spot we could have been in the club we were literally in the DJ booth.

59:19Like, we were like, yeah. In the most secure, safe spot. Like, we had our own bar. Like, we were fine. If I don't go out tonight, like, I will. Okay. Like, we're gonna go out. Every time I mention to my best friend how I think a guy is cute or start crushing, soon after, I always see her texting or talking to him. These are the worst type of people. Sorry. This has been happening a lot. When I confront her, she always tells me it's just text. Oh my God, I would literally freak the fuck out. I would literally freak the fuck out. the fuck out. That's not your friend. And he's the one texting slash talking to her.

59:52I don't want to make a huge thing about it but I'm also like what the fuck your friend is very insecure. You could never trust your friend ever. That's not a friend. I don't think that's your friend. No. That's not a friend. These I'm sorry might be like the worst type of human ever. Well it's all from what I've learned and the girls always have such an elaborate excuse too like we're just friends. I know it's like why are and then they gaslight you they're like why are you feeling weird about it? Like you're insecure. Like you're weird. That's just my brother. Or the girls that are like, every time there's a guy and they have to make it known that like that guy wants to get with them.

1:00:24And you're like, oh, please. Or they're like, oh, I've gotten with them. I think that's a narcissist. I think that's a narcissist. I think it's a mix of like insecurity and like narcissism. Yeah. Is narcissism based in insecurity? Definitely. Or is it a disease? Narcissism is like a disease. Yeah, I think it's a disease too. I don't think it's based in insecurity. Because I used to think I was a narcissist. But I've recently discovered I'm not. You can get diagnosed a narcissist. You can. yes you absolutely can no empathy you can't it's like like you i met a real narcissist the other week like a real and true one they live in like a genuine reality like it is like it is it's like we all live in the world like they live in a complete and separate world like they in their minds like they don't think they are hurting you or hurting anyone like they don't think you're doing anything wrong like they live in a separate world it's a disease it's a legitimate disease No, but I think you can have narcissistic qualities.

1:01:20Of course. But that's what people throw around the word and like use the word. Yeah. Yeah. But that, yeah, that's an insecure person. And maybe a narcissist. And that's not a real friend. Sorry. No, let's continue on. My best friend of five years has been in a long, has been in a long distance relationship the entire time I've known her. Coincidentally, I've never met her boyfriend. That's super weird. We've worked together, graduated college together, gone on trips together, and I've never met him. when he's in town they are always quote busy or quote not interested in what in what I invite them to I've kind of gotten over it at this point but every once in a while it comes back up and my curiosity gets the best of me I mean at this point I'd be like is he real yeah but also like yeah that's a little crazy the biggest thing about dating a guy for me is I want all my friends to be best friends with me like that is very important do you feel that way I literally meet a guy and I'm like, you need to meet my family right away.

1:02:14Friends. Like there's times like this summer I'm literally out. I meet someone and I'm like FaceTiming my dad. And I'm like, dad, this is so-and-so. I mean, when you were with Broxton, he was friends with every single one of us. Yeah. I would have felt comfortable calling him on my own. Like imagine bringing a guy around your friends and he like doesn't want to hang out with your friends. I would be like. No. But so what's this girl's problem? She's just like, I'm very weirded out. My best friend of five years. No, that's very weird. It's very weird. So what do we do about that? I feel like, do you say to her?

1:02:45Yeah, you have to just say what's going on. It's really weird that I haven't met your boyfriend. Oh, I don't think that's weird. And then, you know what I would do? I'd be like, is he real? I'd be like, at this point. Maybe joke about it. Have you seen a picture of him? Like, with the AI of it all. Like, I don't believe that he is real. But like, why lie? I'm serious. Like, that's where I would go. With the AI of it all. I'm serious. I'd be like, is this man real? like you've we've been best friends for five years we graduated college he comes and visits in the same city does he hate do you speak negatively about me do you hate me or is he not real yeah we gotta get to the bottom of this my sister is dating a total loser he got a DUI been there okay he got a DUI spent the night in jail and legit has no money she pays for all the rent I'm sorry I can't call me old fashioned I can't do it and he legit uses her as a sugar mama she has this thing where she needs to take care of everyone, but how do I show her this guy is a leech?

1:03:42You can. It's really hard. Okay, Alex, take the wheels. I just feel like you've got to let him know its course. They have to see it themselves. I've been in the position before where I tried to fight with her about her boyfriend, and all it did was cause us to talk for a year and a half. And I would rather... A year and a half? You guys didn't speak for a year and a half? Like, we spoke, obviously, but we weren't friends. I didn't call her and update her on my life. We didn't visit each other, really. And, like, I would so much rather, like, let her know that I'm there for her if anything were to have gone wrong than, like, I don't know.

1:04:15Yeah, you, like, want to, like, not have that hatred between your sisters, so. Like, we had a conversation one time, and I knew she could hear me because she was crying. But I was still, like, fuck you. She, like, was saying, like, fuck you, but she was crying, so I knew that, like, I was getting through to her. But, like, I would say that approach more so than, like, don't fight with her. you can kind of like i think there's a way to nicely tell someone like what you see without like being like you need to break up with this person like being aggressive like i was i think that's what we learned you have to be nice about it and be like i'm here for you because also like i've had friends where their boyfriends are like treating them like dog shit and i'm like you have to break up with them they you can't like but like you can't force someone anyone to see it for themselves yeah they have to like just finally you're too aggressive then they won't feel safe to like confide in you.

1:05:00You know what I mean? Yeah. Like if you're too like harsh about it, they're not going to want to be like, if I do actually feel a way, they're not going to want to tell you. They're going to want to tell someone who's going to be like, it's okay. They're going to like shut you out because it's like they get defensive themselves. So then they're not going to tell you what's actually going on. So basically. You have to be nice and supportive. Yeah. And just. Maybe like drop some comments in a nice way, but like. Try to give good sisterly advice. You just got to let it run its course. Yeah. It's kind of just like.

1:05:27You can't force someone to break up with someone. that like super unfortunate feeling of like you the only person in this life that you can control is yourself exactly you literally cannot control anybody else you can't control your mom you can't control your sister you can't control any your best friend you you literally you sometimes unfortunate situations happen that you cannot control and you have to come to terms with that and it's also like I don't know they're happy doing that I don't get it but like she's happy well girls what did we learn today what did I learn I definitely did I don't know if we learned anything today I think we talked a lot of shit we talked we talked is there anything you guys want to get off your chest before Oh, I learned that I'm so excited for everyone to watch Earl Means World.
