0:24hey guys we're back with another episode of therapist and today we have rising star serious actor meg stalter on thank you so much jake thank you

0:39congratulations on everything thank you that means a lot to me um do you remember that night

0:48we're already going there i just i never get to do interviews with such a close friend i know i know sorry i'm kind of um a mess today it's my day with the kids this year oh it is yeah this year yeah i've been running around with them they're in the car did you lock them in Well, yeah. I'm not a horrible mother. I have so many things to catch up with you on. First of all. I'm just so excited to be, sorry I cut you off. No, that's okay. I heard you were amazing. I heard you were amazing on set. Everyone loved you. You won't call anyone back. I'm a hard friend to keep. I feel we give ourselves so much to our jobs.

1:36Sorry. It's okay. Take your time.

1:44We give ourselves away at this job. And I don't have the capacity for every little single, oh, hello, we'll go to lunch. Yeah, okay, what are you doing for Christmas? And a lot of actors don't. And that is where we struggle. I mean, you don't get into this business because your heart's full. Why'd you get into this business? So how have you been? Oh, I've been good. I've been good. I've been good. I've been hanging out a lot with Claire Danes. She told me some stuff about you.

2:27What did she say? she said that you broke her heart i hate to call her that but it's an inside joke um we did have an affair you did was it what's your next question um well i've also been spending a lot of time with the fanning sisters they are not big fans of you i don't want to talk about them you don't yeah especially dakota why not um i'll say there has been a couple of roles that we both went out for oh okay and let's just say i'd be acting sooner if i got some of those oh okay so it's yeah uptown girl oh she was living why are you bringing up so many people that i'm like i'm sorry are you interviewing me or you're interviewing l i'm like what's going on sorry i'm sorry you're doing a got you interview no i'm sorry speaking of got ya.

3:24I did this because we're friends. I know I'm sorry Meg. I know we are friends. I don't even really have time. I know you have no time.

3:34Sometimes it's not as easy just to stop by as you think. No I know. That's what everyone says about you.

3:41Are we going to talk about sort of anything about me? Well you just got cast. I feel like Yeah, go ahead. You just got cast in the new horror movie, gotcha. Yeah. Are you an interviewer or are you my manager telling me what's on the upcoming schedule? I just have so much fun with you. Do you remember at Donnie Roney's? Meg. You ate so many of the pieces of pizza with meat. I know. There were so many meat eaters there. I know. But you ate the ones with the meat and so there was only veggie left. I know, but I was, I know. And then, you know, they got mad at me. Yeah. They all got mad. So what was your question?

4:23So you have one of the best screams in Hollywood. Ah! Gotcha! Is that how you got the role for the new Gotcha movie?

4:35We're not really allowed. Oh, shit. Okay, sorry. I just read Deadline, so I just assumed. Well, the trailer's not out. Okay. Well, but they said it was - Deadline's always releasing stuff before we want it to be released. Has that happened to you before?

4:51No. Okay. And how was shooting in London? You enjoyed it? I didn't like it. Oh, really? Why didn't you like it? Nasty. Nasty? Yeah. People were nasty there. What would they do to you? You know, like walking down the street, grabbing their bags in. Have you been there? A few times. Big, big traveler. Sometimes, you know. You know that people around the scene call you brag a lot. Oh, that's what they call me? Yeah. What do you say to defend me behind closed? If the shoe fits If the shoe fits Yeah I guess it doesn't Guess it doesn't, not today What size are you? Eight and a half, what size are you?

5:32I don't want to tell you that Okay, private? Pervert Oh That's okay So, what did Claire say? Claire said that it was really hot and heavy We can cut this if you want But she said it was really hot and heavy I don't want to cut it Okay. She said you guys went to Capri together? Yeah. And she said you hated it. You just couldn't deal with the Italians, she said. Let's just say I belong in Ohio because I have a hard time traveling. But I need to tell you that there is something in this business called opening up your heart to people. I was single at the time, and then I was married when I met her.

6:15And you had kids? Yeah. And I was single at the time. Then I met, I got married. Then I met Claire. On set things happened. It's not something that always happens. Yeah, we had an affair. It's not something that people don't do. Right. So to sit here and say, yeah, I didn't, you know, well, I did. And it ruined my marriage. And then we got back together. And what do your kids think of her? Have they met her? Yeah. She comes over all the time. Still? Yeah. So you're still having an affair. yeah okay sometimes sometimes people are have little rules about their own marriage don't ask don't tell don't ask don't tell and then tell and then and then ask ask about it okay well do you guys ever think you'd get married you and claire dance i don't think that she's someone that would do something like that you know as much as As we like to play, I mean, at the end of the day, she always says the same thing.

7:15I don't want to break up a marriage again, like I did the first time with you. So are you married again? I've redone my vows with my husband, and what he does behind closed doors, I don't want to know about it. Well, I think all of Hollywood knows. What the hell do you mean by that? You know what I mean, Meg. Hey, look at me. Don't fuck around with me. Okay, I'm sorry. Okay, what do you mean by that? You know what I mean. What did Melv do? He's, you know, fucking around Hollywood a bit. Really now? With who? Drew Barrymore? Drew. I guess the right the first time? Who else? Kelly Clarkson. Let's talk more about my career, okay?

7:58Because I really don't want to do this today. Okay, we don't have to. Make it comfortable. Okay. So you have your kids once a year. Yeah. Do they ever come visit you on set? You know, I really don't want them on set bothering me during work. And, you know, it is weird that me and my husband don't have custody of them. But, you know, things went down. I don't want them to grow up in a home where two of the parents are fighting. So your husband doesn't have a custody of them either? No. So who has custody? My aunt. Okay. But, yeah, I just love acting. I think, you know, sometimes it's hard, I guess, not to take your work home.

8:38I've heard you have trouble not being able to like not come out of your character anymore I feel like sometimes it's not a choice Tell me more When you I don't want to say you I don't want to say you but you're not an actor Well you have been in some things Do you consider yourself an actor? I consider myself a performer of sorts So it's sort of like you're putting a hat on. I am the hat. Whoa. And sometimes it is not a choice to get out of the character. Okay, it's not a choice. Right. Do I come, I go home, yeah, I'm still walking like the character, you know, and I have to shake it off a bit.

9:29I feel like that's something that I feel Demi Morris said. Well, I heard you were up for the substance. I was. but they said you couldn't get out of the character enough. Like when you were going into the audition as the character, you were leaving as the character. Is it true your kids call you by the name of the character on your once a year custody visit? Well, let's just say they don't call me. I wish they did call me. Been there. That's Hollywood. Yeah. I feel like sometimes, you know, I've never actually told them my real name. So, so sometimes they probably think my character's name is my name.

10:05Right. But other than that, I mean, yeah, they can call me whatever the hell they want to. And I've told them that. I said, you can call mommy whatever the hell you want to. And that has led to them. Brittany. Right. You know, whatever new character I've played. Jessica. Yeah. But, yeah. What else were you saying? Well, I would say, you know, how long have you been. You're such a mess. I know. How long have you been training for, you know? Everyone trains. How long have I been training for what? Like training in acting school. Yeah. You know, I've watched a lot. Ever since I was little, I was watching videos about different shows and stuff.

10:47Videos about the shows or the shows? No, just like TV shows and movies. I remember my teacher used to call me Little Miss Movie because I was always wanting to watch a movie. And also acting is kind of like whatever you're, you know, right now I'm training. what are you training for right now no i just mean just human behavior i mean i'm watching you i'm kind of you know try to sit like you a little bit right that you're playing me now yeah yeah just it's just human behavior so i i don't think it's you're never like really not training to do that right i'm start crying again no don't cry no you know what though the performance is so powerful i get it no i mean maybe i work comfortable on the floor oh that's okay do you want me to sit with you yeah okay um or you don't have to okay yeah but go ahead if you want but i feel i i feel like it's so hard for me to to even begin to think about like okay they're in the car is the ac on yeah and the nanny's in there um but i go what are they even what kind of they think that one role that i have not mastered is playing mother warm warm hands yeah do you think one day you'll be able to master it no that's okay yeah and you're doing your best you know we're all doing our best I think when you're such a female online people just want to rip you apart I don't get her she's fat and what do you say to that okay yeah because i i i does it bother me that not everyone likes my performance yes piss you off yeah um is it upsetting to me when people write me messages yeah it is um because as actors we want to be palatable right you know otherwise it's like what what are we doing here if we're not liked by everyone.

12:57And how do you feel that you... Go ahead and say that. Ask your question. I feel like you've been nervous for interviewing me. You're just the biggest star we've ever had. You know, it took a while to agree to this. Biggest, like, fattest? No. Your publicist was being quite difficult. Yeah, he does misbehave a lot. And that's why I like him. Yeah. That's why I keep him around. You know, that's why I keep him around. Right. Because every single person on my team is naughty. What do you mean by naughty? Has been arrested. For what? I don't ask. Don't tell. I don't want to know, you know. What you do when you're pushing the time, I don't want to know.

13:43I don't want to know. Right. You know, what they're doing in their personal time. Are you able to share with us who your co-star has forgot you to? No. Okay. Can you give me a hint? No. He can and peel. Okay. is a hint it's not them it's not them yeah okay and have you been practicing your scream you know what i this is so funny about me i'll tell you so i never rehearse anything ever no and so that way in the scene i'm surprised what do you buy your own actions yeah mostly when i get to set i'm going i'm going straight to the snacks the the public got one thing right about mean that's a lot to eat because i'm going to the snacks i'm relaxed and that's my that's my mommy time that's my that's your mommy time yeah so what's now for your kids what was that what's now for my kids yeah what do you mean what's now what are you doing for the rest of the day with them you know you're taking them what's now for my kids that's how you asked me what my plans were for the day?

14:46Yeah. Okay. We're going to go to a pottery class and I'm going to have them each make a little something for me. I thought your kids were two. Yeah. First of all, they're not all two.

15:03How old are they? I just knew you would be asking such personal questions. Sorry, I'm sorry. No. You're not going to know how old my kids are. Oh, okay. Get off. Okay, sorry. I mean, why does it even matter to you? I'm just curious, you know. I have a nephew. How old is he? Three. Okay, that's inappropriate to tell me who is what age. I mean, next is what? You're going to ask me how old I am, 46? No, but I heard that you were born premature. All right, I'm out of here.

15:37You don't tell people when people are born premature. You told, you made it a whole thing. No, you don't tell people that because that's my business, okay? Okay. Sit back down. Hey! Sorry. What else do you want to ask me? I want to ask you, what was it like being... What? What? What? What? What? What? What was it like? What was it like, you know, filming in Scotland? Forgot ya. Yeah. Which, by the way, I read in Deadline, so... Okay, I'm going to ask you to stop talking about the movie. Okay, well... Okay, and I'm going to stop talking about Deadline, okay? Unless this is a deadline commercial.

16:17Because I love that magazine, but I'm not going to just sit here and just repeat everything because you just go read it. But yeah. Can you read? So I can read. I saw you do this to that person from Glee. I saw you do that. So I'm not just another brown-haired girl that you're going to say that to. Yeah, I can read. University. Those are diplomas, and that's a magazine. Right. Diplomas, magazine. Big book. What's your favorite book? I heard you're a big reader on set, though. I did hear that you like to, like, will listen to audiobooks, which is why I asked if you could read, but... My favorite book is Jamie Lee Curtis' book.

17:06Really? Yeah. You remind me a lot of her. That's the nicest thing you could say. Because I love her. You guys are close? Yes.

17:20They were going to replace Lindsay Lohan with me if she didn't get her act together. Yep. That's what I heard. And she did. So good news for her, bad news for me. Were you upset? Yes. How do you take rejection? I don't take it. What do you mean? I cannot take it. I go into one of those rooms where you destroy the things in the car and I just freak out. I heard. I think, let me talk. Okay. when I'm rejected I look in the mirror and I go no no no this is not happening to you this is not happening to you this is not happening to you I call my publicist and I say let's change things call them back and if that doesn't work I go into one of those what are those rooms called?

18:02a destroy room and I destroy everything inside and I go home I order my usual Panera bread and go to sleep wake up the next day and I try again and what's your order from Panera? Three bread bowls. I love a bread bowl. Yeah. Yeah. If you like one, you're going to love three. How have you been? Oh, you know, I've been fine. I've been dating around. Who are you dating? Just a few people out of the industry. Yeah. It's hard to date in our industry. It's hard. Not really. Okay. Because, yeah, I mean, I've never had a problem. Hmm. My husband is out of the industry now, but he was in the industry. I mean, are we going to say it?

18:47John Stamos? Well, I told you earlier it was Mel. Me and John aren't together anymore. Oh, shit. Sorry. That was my first marriage. My second. Okay. Forgot. But me and John remained friends. He's given me a lot of full house memorabilia over the years. Yeah, I would get back together of him if me and Mel didn't work out. But I, yeah, I mean, you know how people are so into John Samos. Let's just say that they had a right to be. It was a good time. So what happened? Sorry.

19:24I saw him the other day on his motorcycle. Oh, you did? And he came out the house and I said, what are you doing around my block? He said, I need to drop something off. and I said why don't you come in and Mel's not here and he had this package and he came inside and I said what's in the package and he said you know what's in the package your old panties. A little dirty. You still has those? Yeah. And I was like my husband's gonna kill your ass. He's gonna shoot you in the head three times. Was John scared? Yeah. Did he still drop him off? He did. So what'd you tell Mel? I'd lie to my husband.

20:09I said... Seems to be a theme. I've been cam-girling again, and these are for the guys I've been talking to. He was cool with it. Sorry. It's okay.

20:24You just ground yourself sometimes? That's what I was doing with John. With John? Hand sliding. And you just, you told Mel nothing. Let's get those shoes back on. Okay, sorry. No, I'm kidding. Okay. So who have you been with? You know, I haven't had sex in a while, almost infamously at this rate. How long has it been? Two years. Are we going to order lunch? Yeah, what do you want? Well, I heard preemies are often allergic to... Are you kidding? What are you doing right now? Sorry, I just... um yeah so

21:05well you know what I just I cannot believe that what I did what'd you do last summer I cannot believe I did it again I feel like it's finally hit me that I need to stop I think maybe you and Mel should file file for what the divorce everyone's talking about it I just want to say like it means so much to me that you had me on here I mean people I just you've always had a bit of a crush on me stop well you really have I know and I just think you're such a stud and I truly truly want you to know you know if if this doesn't work out and that doesn't work out I'm calling you and you know what and for you I'll always answer I love you Matt I mean you've always been super flirty and sexual with me I know you've been looking really really good thank you I've gotten a couple facelifts oh you have a couple?

22:10yeah and I have got my boobies done to make him look more natural does Mel like that or no because he's gay okay what? did you just say why did you say he was gay? because I thought I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What made you say that my husband was gay? Well, I'm sorry. I thought when I was talking about the rumors that, you know, it was like we understood that that's what they were. He wasn't gay when he was eating my ass last night. Oh, he wasn't? So. I just heard he has a lot of callers. What does that mean? A lot of male callers. You even asked one question about my acting. Okay. So, okay. Have you hooked up with Mel?

22:52have you hooked up with my husband you tell me right now if you hooked up with him now it was in france okay i didn't know you were gay you called me a smoke show when we walked in well you are a smoke show okay well the show's over okay well thanks everyone give it up for everyone yeah everyone ever give it up for meg
