In short

Brett’s birthday special episode of TheraPutz, centered on Taylor Swift talk, plus updates on friends’ lives (New York visit, room renovations), running goals, and a Carly Rae Jepsen concert recap.

Guests

The episode features Peyton and Julia (hosts/close friends of Brett) and also mentions Manny, Will, and Jake (friends involved in activities).

Key claims

They discuss Taylor Swift’s upcoming era “Life of a Showgirl,” predicting multiple number-one singles and theorizing a future 3-part album drop (country, pop, folk) for her 13th album. They argue Swift’s chart success is her job and that criticism is often misogynistic. They also claim Carly Rae Jepsen’s Emotion didn’t become bigger due to misogyny and lack of public dating narrative.

Notable examples

They critique Summer House-style “The Summer I Turned Pretty” wedding/bachelor/bachelorette planning choices (shots/party size, choreographed dances). They recount seeing Carly Rae Jepsen perform Emotion front-to-back (including “Run Away With Me,” “I Really Like You,” “Boy Problems,” “Making the Most of the Night,” “Your Type,” “LA Hallucinations,” and “Warm Blood”). They share birthday/new-year goals and marathon plans (Chicago tracking goal; Boston “worst day,” New York “amazing”).

0:25Surprise, pussies. Welcome back to TheraPutz. Okay, I've never done an intro like this before, but I have to because I forgot to do it at home. And I'm in New York visiting Peyton and Julia. I saw Tate this week. It was amazing. So today, Sunday, I'm seeing Gaga. I'm so excited. But on today's episode, it is Brett's birthday special. We had so much fun filming. We literally just talked about Taylor Swift for an hour. It was literally so fun. Filming with my friends is always just, like, the most fun and the best. And I just, I hope you guys enjoy the episode. I don't know what to say. I feel so awkward doing an intro like this.

0:59I've never done it before, but I don't really know. To submit a tell me what's wrong, go to passthatpuss.com and leave a name and number if you're feeling fancy. Okay. Enjoy the episode. Love you pussies.

1:21Hey. Oh. Hey. I didn't even know very much. How cute. Oh, my God, Jess. How cute. That is so cute. Oh, I love you. Danny and Nolan did it. Thanks, Danny and Nolan. Just pat on the left. Happy birthday. Oh, my God. Thanks. Are we ready to go? Wow. Happy birthday. Thanks. Are you so excited to be 25? Like, I guess. Yeah. But I feel like 25 is like the mid-20s. I know. Do you feel old? I feel old. I mean, you're almost 26. Shut up. Is Max 26? Yeah, and he's almost 27. He turns 27 before you turn 26. October 17th. Yeah, I know. Libra. Yeah. We have a lot to talk about. So much. Number one, do you think I'm sick or dehydrated?

2:20I don't know. Like, how tired are you? Can you, can't you hear it in my voice? I can slightly hear it. Yeah. But I haven't wanted to freak you out. Because have you been sleeping well? No. So maybe that's why. We should talk about our new rooms. Yes! Okay, so I was moving into the big bedroom and Brett was using another bedroom. Because we didn't want to get new roommates. Yeah. We wanted, we were like, it just doesn't feel right. We don't want to get new roommates. We also needed more space. We needed more space. Both of us. My closet was throwing up. Yeah. Like you needed more space. I needed more space.

2:55My room was like packed to the brim. Like I couldn't move in my room. You lived in a box. I lived in a box. My room was the smallest in the house, which is fine.

3:08Which is fine. I mean, not only is it the smallest in the house, the ceiling concaves in. So like. The ceiling does concave in. Yeah. And I'm having like no room for anything. Like I had like four dressers. I had no hanging space. Yeah. So anyway, yeah. So now Julia's old room is my like closet glam, get ready room that has like all my clothes pretty much except for like my PJs. And the people who, and then my room is completely redone. Jake's room looks insane. It's insane. Everything looks insane. It's really, really, really quite insane. I've never had a room like it. Like I'm so excited to spend time in my room.

3:43I've never had a TV so big in my room. I just took pay-ins. Yeah. And there's one person to thank. The go-to girls. This is not sponsored. Not at all. We paid them. Ashley and Stacey. Ashley and Stacey were addicted. We love you guys so much. Like, they changed our room. Changed. Changed our house. Changed. They changed our house. Like, I'm not embarrassed anymore to have people over. Me either. And you know what? We're going to keep it that way. We are. No, we are. We are. Because, like, we got rid of so much stuff. So here's the thing. Like, they're worth every penny for a myriad of reasons.

4:18But I think the biggest one for me is that it forced me to literally go through everything. Right. And donate so much. And, like, just get stuff out of our house. The clutter out. It's just, like, our house just feels lighter. It feels, like, airier. It doesn't feel airier. Yes. Yeah. I agree. I mean, like, I, like, love being in bed. Yeah. I mean, your room is everything. My room is pretty insane. And it has a plant. Yeah. It has a plant. And I know the plant is fake. And, like, that way it'll stay alive forever. But it's just like the vibes. And like I can bring a boy over. Yeah. And like it's hot.

4:52Like oh yeah this is my room. Yeah. One thousand percent. Oh he walks through your closet to get to the bathroom and he's like damn. Damn. Like why does he have so many shoes? Yeah. Like damn. Like damn. Like you know like when I used to have a guys over like come on. The room was purple with stuffed animals. Wait where are you putting your sign? Your glow up sign? It's going to stay in the back house. Okay I think that's good. I think you know it's not. Jake has this glow upside. What does it say? Tense up. He would sleep with it on. It's LED purple light. Cassie used to get so mad. He would sleep with it on.

5:25It illuminates the entire room. I don't know how you fell asleep. The mattress is getting more comfortable, by the way. Okay, good. I was really panicking. I don't think my body was used to sleeping on a king. I don't think so either. And I think mattresses, they do take like at least like a few days, like maybe two weeks. To be honest, all it took was you sitting on it and saying, oh, this is comfortable. You don't think this is comfortable? And then I was like, oh, maybe I'm wrong. And that was it. Wow. Yeah. You're welcome. Thank you so much. Yeah. So Brett's watching the summer. I turned pretty.

5:52Yeah. But here's the thing. They get you because like I wasn't watching this season and then I watched one episode and I was like, fuck. Let me tell you what I found most confusing. I jumped in obviously randomly. I obviously understand that Belly is getting married to Jeremiah. Maya. Okay. So what I found most confusing is her bachelor and his, her bachelorette and his bachelor party consisted of a few things. Number one, she had two friends for her bachelorette party. Which is like, just like hire like extras and say they're like childhood friends. Like it doesn't matter that she only has two friends in the show.

6:32It was just like very confusing to me. I agree. And then she went to the bar for her two friends. So there was three people. And it's like, we have 10 shots of tequila. So that would mean, that's not even distribution. So like the whole thing just didn't feel very thought out to me. And then their activity during the day for both of their bachelor and bachelorette parties, which they were doing in the same house, was choreographing dances together. What was the point? Were they trying to make TikToks? So I think they're for like the reception Taylor because Taylor, her best friend said like we have to practice the reception dance.

7:09But the sink budget on that show. I mean, do you think Taylor is just like for free? I wonder. But how can they afford multiple Taylor songs in one episode? I know. They did Robin and Love of My Life. And I think there was one other one. Maybe. I forget. I'm sure there fucking was. And there was like Billy, Charlie, Charlie XCX. yeah there was a charlie xcx um girl it's so confusing in the bachelor part yeah when they go to the club you weren't watching you were showering they went to a dive bar the girls went to a club how was the club belly like freaks out and is like i'm in love with conrad because she and she's like i'm so high because she ate a gummy because she had a gummy yeah yeah but um For my bachelor party, like I am going to be.

7:59Yeah. What's that going to look like? I don't care how sober I am from any. I am going to be. Well, I want. OK, actually, this is a good thing for my bachelor party. I want to do Greece. Right. And I think hopefully, I mean, from what I figured, I will get married late enough in life where everyone can take off time and hopefully, you know, figure it out. I want to do Greece. Yeah. I'm down. We were talking about this the other day. Yeah, we were. There's only like a handful of bachelor places to go. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. But also like, you know, like I'm going to be so bored on my bachelor party day one.

8:37Well, that's, we just, you have to have someone plan it for you and we'll plan it and make it really fun. But you'll have to have time to like nap and decompress because you don't want her to be doing stuff all day, every day. Never. Yeah. So it's fine. Maybe we should go to like Paris and go off our phones. No. Yeah, no. That's not happening. Especially for you. And me. Whose screen time is worse? Mine's actually not bad. It was like six hours the other day. Oh. Mine's worse. What's yours? Mine's like over 10 every single week. Average. Do you sleep with it next to your head? Yeah. We need to stop.

9:14I listen to podcasts to fall asleep and I put it right there. So you need to connect to a speaker and we need to stop. Really? Is it? It's really bad. Is it? It's really bad. I didn't know if that was just fear mongering. And if you're a doctor, do not fucking stitch this because I don't want to know. I already have an inkling. I know. And like we're balls deep in what we've done. Yeah. So like if we have the big BC, I don't want to know. We're definitely too far gone, I feel like. Figure out what BC was? Yeah. Cool. Oh, no, Lynn, it's brain cancer. Oh. When I was little, I wasn't allowed to like have my iPod in bed, but I would have it anyway and I would listen with headphones and put it under my pillow.

9:53It's like, I'm fucked. My parents used to say that when I would listen to headphones, I would go deaf. Really? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think it is what it is. But I'll try to stop listening to, like, right there. We have to. Really? I just, like, might as well cut it off now. We know. Okay. We know. Yeah. Life of a showgirl. Okay. Life of a showgirl. Which tracker? So obviously, like, we were going back to our midnight roots. Like, we have a countdown in the house. We are very, very excited. What song are you claiming? What songs do you think is going to be your favorite? I'm claiming Wood. Is that, like, so rogue of me?

10:32No, I'm claiming. Yeah, what are you claiming? I have a gut feeling I will be wrong. Okay. It can go 50-50. But if it works in my favor, like, I know it will be amazing. Elizabeth Taylor. I knew you were going to say that. something about it is giving like grown-up style you're so or like grown-up wildest dreams and like you're so right and i'm just like i want to put that out there now but like i don't know how she can say elizabeth taylor like in the chorus you know like i'd rather her like say et or like like make it like a little more catchy or like what's crazy to me is that but she always makes it work she always makes it work but what's crazy to me is that the track list like really isn't reading like a pop album i know the fate of ophelia reading like fucking folklore because you know what she what did we talk about this we saw a video where okay so she took the criticism oh yeah i told you about this can you yes credit to the swiftologist it was his video but he was like taylor always like takes the constructive criticism and like applies it to her next album and he was talking to which how people were saying they were sick of jackie and stuff and so this album has no jack but if you go back it's that reputation was too dark and like like grungy of an album so that she did love her and then lover was too like catering towards kids and too like poppy and like playful so then she does and like to like bass lines and she does folklore and evermore and then everyone's like we miss your pop so do midnight but then everyone was like we miss your deep stuff yeah yeah and they were like and they were like midnights he was like Midnight's was like shallow so then she does like fucking like tortured poet which is like her like most like vulnerable like you know right and then now there's like Jack Antonoff so back to Max Martin which I'm psyched about here's the thing I love Jack Antonoff but once like this was like probably a year and a half ago when people started hating on Jack I looked up what songs Max Martin had done with Taylor yeah they're all my favorites yeah I mean of course Get Away Car August Love but like delicate don't blame me style um 22 weird like I love those pop ones I love them I yeah I mean I think it's gonna be incredible I also think she wants this to be I don't think she has felt I think the heiress tour like made her feet like but like I don't think she has felt the same i like in her mind the way i'm just trying to visualize it 1989 was the last time that she had an album where multiple singles were like going number one like the songs were legitimately taking over the airwaves yeah swifty culture became so big so that she could like you know what i mean like it became more of an album thing yes and like it was like the album as a whole like am I making sense right now I know you're right wants life of a showgirl to be like like I think she wants to take it back to like the early to like the 2010s of being like this album has five number one hits on yeah like I know I don't only have like the lead single of anti-hero and then like everything else like yeah we some people it's like not like number one like she's like I want each of these to be number one yeah so that's why this has 12 tracks like I know they're back to back to back to back to back to back bangers.

13:56Also like the way she's speaking about it is like so confident. That's what I'm thinking too. And also like she's saying like there's no bonus, nothing. Like. Which. Are we even going to get into it? No, I'm fine with the no bonus because people said. No, no, no. But have you seen that there was a Pinocchio on the shelf? So people think she's fucking lying. Was there a Pinocchio in the other videos? What do you mean? Like has anyone watched other New Heights videos? Was there a Pinocchio in the back? I don't know. I didn't go that deep into it because I was just like. I only believe if there is not a, if that set behind her besides the TS is intentional, like if like there's new things that weren't in Travis and Jason's old stuff, I believe the Pinocchio.

14:36I think no lead single. There's no way. I feel like she doesn't do that anymore. Well, no one does. Like Billy didn't do it. Oh. Billy didn't do a lead single. Taylor doesn't do lead singles. Beyonce doesn't do lead singles. and I think Taylor is like, I'm a great. Wait, I thought Beyonce did Texas Hold 'em. She did. Wow. You're so right. Yeah. She did. I remember. Yeah. So maybe. I don't think so. I don't think so. Maybe week of? No, I don't think so. Week before? I don't think so. No. But like the singles for 1989. I mean, that's. Crazy. I am claiming Elizabeth Taylor and I'm also claiming. Why am I like blinking out?

15:21What's track five? Oh, Elvis Daughter. All the oldest daughters are like. I won't relate because I act like an only child even though I have a younger brother. Yeah. You won't relate. You're the youngest. Yeah. But I think it'll be good. I know we're getting ahead of ourselves, but I'd also like to put this out there now. I think for her 13th album, can I tell you my idea? Yeah. I think she is going to do a three-part album drop all at once. Damn. or over the course of three weeks. What do you mean by three part album? In a similar vein to Beyonce's Act 1, Act 2, Act 3, but not with that much time in between because she's going to want it all to be the 13th album.

16:01Yeah. First part is country because she's country in her first part of her career. Second part is pop. And the third part is folk. Damn. And I think that is going to be her 13th album. And it is going to be 13 tracks each. So it is going to be 39 tracks. And I think that is why she is doing the Life of the Showgirl 12 pop tracks now because this is her last attempt at like singles. Like I want a single album. Like an album that is appreciated as a whole but that has multiple number one singles on it. I think for her 13th album she wants it to be like a biblical body of work. I agree. My senses are pretty.

16:47Your senses are good. yeah you're like knowing I feel like I just feel like my senses are pretty on point I can tell when I read something that's bullshit and when I read something that that's not true and I remember someone said to me I just have a feeling she's gonna go back to country for 13 in some capacity yeah and I think that's true yeah also Taylor loves the charts yeah she loves and she's not one to hide that she thinks it's awesome yeah as I would too yeah and what's going number one on the charts country yeah that's so true yeah that is so true yeah which is kind of underrated saying that in like a vilifying way like you know what i mean i feel like people always say that and like you know she loves the charts wouldn't you it's your job yeah it's like why are we who doesn't care about the charts why are we pretending my thing is just like why are we pretending that this isn't her job i feel like with pop stars it's like we are pretending that like like it's that weird idea that we just want to like hand them success and have them be like thank you and then take it away when we get the chance no it's her job yeah it's her job and also like people like always say like would a pro athlete like run slower to like let someone else win no also pro athletes care about championship rings that's what i'm saying that is billboard Like whether you like to believe it as a music fan or not, that is what it is.

18:10Yeah. I don't care. Like the Grammy album of the year is the football championship of music. Yeah. It's a Super Bowl. Yeah. So that's why I get upset when she's, when people are like X, Y, and Z complaining about her structure and like how she does things. Like, listen, she's not going to slow down to let others in front of her. Yeah. It's like inherently super misogynistic. I agree. And I think I will stand on this hill and I know that people get annoyed when people say this. But if she was a man. True. It wouldn't be a conversation. It would not be a conversation. It wouldn't. You hot? It's hot in here.

18:44Wow. I just got really heated. Yeah. What else should we talk about? Well, we're also passionate about the Taylor of it all. Do you have any goals for your birthday this year? You know. I'm sick. Sorry. I'm having. You think? Yeah, for sure. Fuck. I know. You need to take vitamin C. I know. um i think that i'm doing something like on a like more formal scale this year the past two years i've done like a big fun pre-game and then like we've gone out um but this year i'm doing like a party that's your goal no but i'm saying my goal can you let me talk i'm saying my goal is for it to be fun Oh, no, I meant, like, for the year age 25.

19:30Oh. I was like, that's your goal? I thought you were talking about for, like, my actual birthday. Oh, no, it's okay. I'm sorry. I feel mean. Oh, it's okay. But let me finish my answer, and then I'll go into my new year. So I just want to not be, like, anxious and, like, have it. I hope it's fun. It will be fun. For my actual birthday. For the year of 25, I actually, knock on wood, I really have high hopes for this year. Bitch, don't play with me. Knock on wood. Wait. Do you knock three times? Yeah. Which, by the way, Jake has been doing that. Do you knock three times since I met him? Really? Yeah.

20:03In the car, he'd always say, do you knock three times? And I'd be like, yes. Always. But, like, I think my goal is to just, like, continue to grow in my career and, like, continue to, you know, I don't know. I just think that it's it's a formative year and like I feel so grateful and I'm sure you feel the same way that like we do things that like we love so much at a young age like I think that that's really cool yeah and so I just want to like continue in that and like I feel like I have a lot of like cool things like coming my way and like maybe like growing your merch line yeah like definitely some type of like business venture I mean like my run club is dropping tomorrow which is very exciting yeah and the comfiest sweater i own oh that's so nice i slept in it in portland and you have been like standing on the bites run club since i showed you the yeah i think it's my favorite one yeah um so yeah maybe that um i mean i'm running chicago in october i'd like to run a spring marathon ideally whoa yeah yeah because think about i did boston in april and then new york in november which those were only six months apart but it feels like they were like years apart doesn't it do you get triggered about boston no we can talk about it

21:22i remember it was the worst day of my life we track brett's every move on marathons and i just remember like i just you especially are like tapped it i'm very tapped in and i just remember you julia knew what you wanted like julia oh because she listens very like she listens to She knew the time you wanted. Yeah. So I'm obviously like, let's go, let's go. And Julia's like, fuck. Yeah, like something happened. Because it was, she clocked that certain passageway. Yeah, because it was like, if you guys were tracking me on like the online or the app thing, like it showed that like my overall pace was like slowing.

21:59You know what my goal is for you? Aside from any marathon record, like running wise, physically, I want you to be the number one most tracked person at the Chicago Marathon. Me too. And Brett, where can they fucking find you? What do you mean? On the tracker app. Oh. Well, I don't have my bib or anything yet, but it's the Chicago Marathon app, I believe. And you'll just search Brett Chody. And we'll repurpose this clip when it happens. This is her bib number. Yeah. And search Brett Chody. Not to be like, but I was the second most tracked in New York. Which I think was arguably like, that's like, in my mind, like a bigger deal than if I were to be number one in Chicago.

22:41Because like New York is like. Understood, but Chicago is your hometown. This is your hometown run. Yeah. But, yeah, Boston. Yeah, I mean, it was like, it was just like hot and like, it was just like a bad day. It was just. Do you feel, like, what did you feel like the second you finished? Were you like, don't talk to me? Yeah. I saw my coach, like, right after I finished. And I just like started crying. I was like, bitch, Kim. Did not go well. And she was like. But then New York was amazing. New York was amazing. And then like, yeah, I found Max and that photographer took those photos, which like, honestly.

23:15Eight. Eight. Like, I would have like bonked in a million more marathons for. To get those photos. Those fucking photos. No, seriously. Like, yeah, those photos are everything. And the fact that we didn't know they were being taken. And the fact that someone found them randomly on Instagram and DMed to me. So I found like I wouldn't have found the photographer. And those are my favorite photos. Did you do what's the spring marathon London? London or don't play with me. I know. I know. You got to come because you love. Obviously Allison I will first slide out to London. But yeah it's London or Boston.

23:49I'm still kind of figuring out. Oh you want redemption. I'm going to redo Boston but I'll only do Boston if I don't get a London bib basically. Is London the hardest? London's the hardest to get into because they really prioritize like UK citizens. So it's like lottery. But like I'm hoping to like. So it's not based on merit? No. I can't apply with like a good time. But I'm hoping to kind of like get in with nepotism. What do you mean? As in like I'm a running influencer and they give out those bibs. Which there's actually been controversy about that recently. But like I think that you guys can agree that I would deserve it.

24:24Yeah.

24:27I think you definitely deserve it. Yeah, because, like, I'm a real runner, you know? There's all this discourse about people who aren't real runners getting bibs to the majors, and I don't really, I'm not going to, like, get into that, but, like, I'm a real runner, so. Yeah, she shit in the woods once. Yeah, multiple times. You're a runner. Yeah. Well, what was I going to say? London would be awesome. Tokyo would be even cooler, respectfully. Tokyo will be the last one I do of the majors. I want you to kind of redemption arc Boston. I will. And that's going to be a sick day. Yeah, that's going to be awesome.

24:57I'm excited for Chicago. Yeah, me too. What else? Do you want to talk about Scandal? Do you want to talk about... Oh, you know what I would love to talk about? What? Last night, me and Manny and Will went to One Night Only, Carly Rae, Motherfucking Jepsen. Yeah. Give Manny the damn mic, please. We saw Carly Rae Jepsen perform Emotion, front to back. What songs do you know off Emotion? Just like if I'm like, here is Carly Rae Jepset's Emotions. What song would you be like? I know this song. You know, Run Away With Me. Is I Want You In My Room on Emotions? No. No. That's undedicated. Okay. I don't know then.

25:36What else is on Emotions? I Want You In My Room is my favorite though. Also, let me just say it's Emotion. Sorry. Emotion. Manny's a big Carly Rae stan. Manny is Carly Rae. Yeah. Right? That's what Will said. She is. Manny was like, that's Manny. Yeah. Yeah. She's wearing a hat right now that says boy problems. Okay, so I think it's just crazy because every song is so you-coded. LA Hallucinations is the most you-coded. Me? Yeah. What do you think? Like, as far as being bright-coded? Like, what song, if we're, like, listen to it, will she like? All of them. All of them. I think if you like, I mean, okay, Taylor Swift is very, very, very different.

26:18Yeah. However, if you are a Taylor Swift fan, I do think that you just inherently would like Carly's music. Yeah. I honestly see her liking Warm Blood. Yeah. Well, who wouldn't? That's what I mean. Don't. Okay. I'll listen. You would like Warm Blood. I think, you know, Run Away With Me, though, you said. Yes. I mean, that's like one of the greatest songs ever made. Yeah. I was saying to Jake earlier, I was like, I'm kind of sad that she's not bigger. I know. and me too but selfishly last night was one of the most magical nights of my life it literally felt like a like it was 500 people at the troubadour everybody Manny was saying like everybody there knew every single word and her parents were there and she pointed them out they were sitting like two rows ahead of us and her dad kept filming everything and it was so sweet and it started like I'm gonna get full body chills it started we just heard do do do do do do do do do do do do do and then she walked out on stage and it was like wow life is literally worth living like i'm not even kidding like it was so crazy and let me just say you've been standing on carly ray since college probably even before that but i remember in college you were like no brett like she's the ultimate pop girl yada yada yada and i was like what I only know if it's all me maybe I'm emotion is just like and the thing is the reason why emotion and people have written about this the reason why emotion didn't become bigger is because in order to be it's not like a requirement but it's often needed in order to be a main pop girl in order for both like for everyone to find interest in and it's I think it's rooted a little bit not a little bit I think it's rooted in misogyny in order for a girl to become like Like a main pop girl.

28:04Like they need to divulge their personal life. Like they need to have people interested in their own personal life. Yeah. Because people want to like take stake in what they're talking about. Whereas The Weeknd, I don't know who the fucking songs are about. Yeah. Like you know what I mean? But he's like a main pop guy. Yeah. She also hasn't dated anyone publicly or like anyone famous at least that we know of. Like we don't know anything about her. Right. And so no one's like, and that, people say that is why Emotion didn't take off because the songs are so objectively good, Brett. Like, what's the track list?

28:39Can you please pull up the track list? Like, pull up the damn track list. I mean, the track list was like literally just the album. She went front to back. Is this her newest album, Emotion? Brett. Brett. Sorry. I was celebrating 10 years. It was the 10-year anniversary of Emotion. Sorry. okay run away with me run away with me so that opens the album and not just like 10 years ago basically the beautiful part about run away with me is because emotion is oh my god full body chills emotion is a pop fantasy dreamland so run away with me starts and she's saying to the listener and her lover in this album take my hand run away with me and just like literally let go for this next hour of music it is not that motherfucking serious this is fun run away with me like wow i'm serious okay number two emotion i mean was this her first album after after call me maybe no like one album before call me maybe yeah this was the first one after okay yes because it had i really like you say oh oh yeah which by the way still fucks yeah that song is good that song is like you would think it's I guess because the chorus is so repetitive and kind of like cheesy you think it's a bad song it's an amazing song it's not bad in the slightest oh did I say too much I'm so in my head like yeah and also okay what's after emotion I really like you I really like you yes okay great but that's like a harder one to get people this one I know that one Underrated, underrated.

30:16Give me love. Give me love. Give me love, give me love, give me love, give me love, give me touch. Because I want what I want, what I want. Do you want too much? I think you played that one for me. It's a banger. It's a banger. But, like, trust there are better. Next. All that. And that crescendo at the end live. Brett. Tell me if you want me if I'm all there. I will be your friend. It also starts like a weird like 70s, 80s. It's false gaudy. It's false gaudy. I feel like you're single-handedly going to like boost her stream. Please. Please. Listen to Emotion by Carly Rae Jepsen. Part three comes out in October.

31:01I'm dead ass serious. She had part B with Cut to the Feeling, which is the greatest pop song of all time. Like don't even. But like seriously. Next, next, next. Boy Problems. Duh. Boy Problems. you got em I got em too when she opened it she said who here has boy problems and everyone went and it was fucking batshit and by the way most respectful crowd ever actually yes that's so true everyone was like we thought everyone was gonna like it was gonna be like when I was getting out of there like everyone was like oh my god like here you go go through Like, I'm just happy to be with Miss Carly Rae.

31:45Like, do you know what I mean? Yeah. Okay, next. Making the most of the night. When she fucking dropped this shit live. I mean, like, I nearly wet my pants. Like, I was literally, like, because I was like, okay, I'm excited for making the most of the night. And then the chorus hit, and I was like, mm. Like, do you know what I mean? Like, I was like, making the most of the night. I know you had a rough time. But you know that one. But here I come, I'ma hijack you. hijack you I love you ah making the most of the night ah okay next your type so I can't talk about this song um without seriously like you know what Brett like this is your song you think because this is mine okay and we have very similar tastes yeah we do I can't talk about this song like without being dramatic like and I understand I've spoken about every track with being dramatic.

32:41Yeah. I don't know how to like tell you about this song. Okay. So she's saying, I'm not the type of girl for you. I'm not going. Oh, she's saying like, I have a crush on this guy. Okay. But I'm not his type, but I don't want to be your fucking friend. Like, I don't want to be your friend. I want to fuck you. Okay. And I'm not your type. So do I just kill myself or what? Carly Rae Jepsen is our modern day Robin. Totally. You think? I know so. I know so. And people are going to be like, he's wrong. I don't care. No, I think you're right. I'm right. I think you're right. That's my declaration. Yeah.

33:32Yeah. Your type is dancing on my own. Damn, really? So your type is my favorite song. Like when she dropped it live, I literally like moaned. Like I was like, oh my God, I knew every word. Like, I'm not the type of girl for you, but I'm not. And I'm not going to pretend that I'm the type of girl you call more than a friend. Yeah, I break all the rules for you. Break my heart and say, come on, start again. I'm not the type of girl you call more than a friend. What? I'll make time for you. Time for you. Ooh. I'll make time for you. Okay, next. That was really good. Thanks. Let's get lost. Okay. I like this one.

34:22I like it. I liked it last night. Okay. It's good. It's just like, you know, there is no filler on this. It's just not for me. Okay. But I know it's objectively really good. Okay. Is this too much for you? No, I'm honestly really enjoying this. I'm really enjoying this. Okay, LA hallucinations. That's what you think I'll like. So I didn't appreciate the song in full until last night. Dreams are, top, deep, ropes up, rock, rain. Can't stop, so you get enough. There's a Blake Black hole in my, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. And I say stop, like. Yes. She shouts out BuzzFeed, like millennial queen.

34:58Like, she's literally like. BuzzFeed Buzzers and TMZ Crows. Shut up. And she's like, save me from these LA hallucinations. Damn. And Max saves you from yours. So fucking true. He does. Oh my God, it's the best song ever. When it was, I was literally like. Okay, I want to listen to this album. She's like, you're like, oh. Okay, next, Manny, I'll let you take this one away. Warm Blood, literally best song ever made. It's amazing. It starts. It literally starts like that in an amazing way. Okay. The guy standing in front of us turned around and screamed, this is my favorite. And I said, this is my favorite.

35:34And then we clutched hands. I'm telling you, like, before you die, see Carly Rae Jepsen live. Emotion part three comes out in October. Do not be behind on the train. Do not make stupid decisions. I don't know how to explain it. Did she even do Call Me Maybe last night? No. Good. She doesn't have to. Oh, wait. No, no, no. She did. She did. She did. Sorry. She did. It's because that was when I was getting merch. But no one came to see Call Me Maybe. You're like, oh, the Call Me Maybe girl? Put some motherfucking respect on her name. That's what you're doing right now. Don't cut a bit of this. You're educating.

36:15If you get bored, log off. Actually, don't. But I, like, I, like. Carly Rae. My girl. Your girl. And by the way, not even that this is the point, but she looked fucking amazing last night. Love. Like, she still had the bangs. Yes. Of course. But she debuted a new hair color. Blonde or what? Like, reddish. No, so Carly Rae is like, that's Manny's religion. Yeah. Like, I didn't know she debuted a new hair color. Wow. And you know who else I recently got you into, Brett? Audrey Hoppert? Well, that could - Don't even talk to me about her. I love her. No, like Manny? I love her. Manny, we congratulate you.

36:59Manny, I've been listening to the album. It's all I've been listening to. And I know you've been - Literally, I'm sorry. Rivals emotion. It's close. It is close. Are you serious? They're different, okay? They're different. Audrey Hobart's is more - I relate more to Audrey Hobart's. Like, on a relating level, like, I relate it. Once I relate to it. Because sometimes I, like, listen to songs and I don't, like, listen to the lyrics. You know what I mean? So I'm, like, not really, like - I'm just, like, singing. No, yeah. Once you told me, like, the meaning of Sex and the City, I was like oh like I get why I like it.

37:30Why you relate to it. I think that. So Sex and the City is about going to a bar. You said it yourself. Not hooking up with someone and going in a new burlo. You fucking said it yourself. And once you said it I was like oh. No yes. I don't even watch Sex and the City and that song. Like I like in the car you know. Thirst Trap is probably my favorite or Drive. I'm taking Thirst Trap in the middle of the city. The difference, and I will let it be known right now, between Audrey Hobart and Carly Rae Jepsen, Audrey Hobart is not underrated. Everyone is like, can universally agree it is incredible. Yeah.

38:07When emotion came out, no one knew. I didn't know. I didn't know. Right. I didn't know. I had to be taught. Yeah. Okay? Who introduced you? I follow a lot of music critics. Yeah. On like, I like the Swiftologist, Will Talks Music. Yeah. Like, I follow a bunch of. But it was in college. Yeah. And one of them popped up on my TikTok. Okay. And they were like, where have you been? And I was like, wait, what are they talking about? Because, like, if you're telling me that there's some universally acclaimed pop album that I don't know about, like, I'm first in line. Yeah. I'm cutting people in line.

38:42I will say, like, you've been an early adapter of a lot of pop girls. Charlie XCX, too. Okay. So, thank you. I technically was not early to Charlie. I actually technically was late. But you were early for all of our friends. For everyone else. Yeah. You were early for everyone. Because I came to her for Crash. Which was technically like, oh, you're hopping on. So before Brat, she had Crash. And I really hopped on the Charlie train during Crash. Yeah. And everyone was like, oh, you're hopping on during Crash. Like, you're not a real angel. Who was saying that? Charlie XCX fans. They're like, you, like, you weren't here.

39:20And they were right. I wasn't. But now I can say I was there for all the people that hopped on during Brat. Sweating. But you know who recently I put you on to? Megan Roney? Yes. Yes. And how much do you love her? I am addicted to her. I mean, she's performing to 15 ,000 people screaming her lyrics, but I foresee her having like a before he cheats moment. I think so too. I mean, so many of her songs are so good. Like Indifferent is so good. It's banger after motherfucking banger. Yeah. Hair Salon, whatever. The hair salon one. I mean, amazing. And so I saw her at WeFest, this music festival in Minnesota.

39:59And it was awesome. And it felt so great to, like, actually know some songs. Because then John Party went on and I was like, I don't know any of these songs. Exactly. He only has one, like, banger, head over boots. And I was too drunk to even enjoy it. Head over boots? Yeah. I'm head over boots for you're the one I want. Head over boots? Oh, because, like, head over heels? Head over heels. clever

40:27I'll give that one to you party John what's his name? John Barty I'm sure he's great disclaimer I'm sure he's great okay should we take a break for a second like maybe get some cool air like dap our faces yeah and when we get back I'll tell you about my skincare routine

40:47we are back yeah and as promised I am gonna deliver my skincare routine. Okay. And I have one recently. I've never had one before. Really? Yeah. Tell. It's the Rode Pineapple Face Wash. Oh yeah, you're addicted. I really want to try it. I have some. I'll try it. I have very sensitive skin. So every time I try, I'm not, this isn't an ad. So I just, I promised you my skincare routine. Yeah. And I've also bought the glazing milk because I saw some men try it on TikTok and they were glowing. You're a Rode stan. I'm a Rode motherfucking stand yeah it's great it's great products that's my skincare routine also i've recently started using aftershave how's that it feels like when you take a mint it's like cold it's really cold yeah max uses it and it smells really good it smells good yeah that's what everyone's saying they love the smell of aftershave so i love the smell of aftershave max aftershave right yeah um so i'm a little hungover from that carly ray talk but i will say we played her LA Hallucinations.

41:46It was really good. Yeah. You need to listen to it in the car. But I also like want to listen to like that, like the album now. Like I want to. Run to my back. Yeah. It's just like each song is so good. It's sometimes hard to appreciate them individually all at the same time. You have to come to each song in your own over time. Okay. Does that make sense? Like, do you know what I mean? That's kind of like folklore and Evermore. Clock it. Yeah. That's why people, when Taylor put out TTPD, each song is objectively amazing. Yeah. I don't care what you have to say. And each song is objectively amazing.

42:21It was so much music at once that it gave people the opportunity to be like, this is bad. Do you know what I mean? But it's not, actually. The TTPD hate pissed me off. Right. It was a tough day. Do you remember when you had your moment with Down Bad? Yeah. And we played it like five fucking times back to back in the car. Because you come to the song when it needs you. Yeah. You come to the song when it needs you. I really agree. The second you clonk it, you're like, oh. Yep. One more time? Yep. One more time? Yep. One more time? Yep. And it happened to me with Daddy I Love, But Daddy I Love Him, which to this day, top five.

43:04Actually, you know what? Let's have a little fun. I'm going to give you my top five. I used to do top three. Let's go top five. Okay. Because I can give it to you. Okay. number one the archer like yes she's not moving yes she's sat she's your number one she sat yeah number two daylight yeah strong I just I can smell the subway I can like I remember the time of my life everyone was still social distancing on the subway like yeah I was my first time back in New York from the pandemic I could like it just means so much to me yeah number two daylight number three but daddy I love him. Are you serious?

43:42Brett. I mean the song's amazing. I mean like Yeah. I don't know how to talk about it. Like that song to me is so important. It's so cinematic. It's also the first time Taylor's clapped back at critics but Taylor's never been like some of you bitches are crazy. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? and gone but daddy I love him she's like stop yeah I love him I don't care I don't care yeah number four call it what you want obviously if you know me you fucking know number five test the damn season no 1989 your top five I love 1989 I thought that's your favorite it is as a whole album I understand but these singles are my favorite songs okay they are my favorite songs and you can come here and you can tell me I'm wrong, I don't really give a fuck.

44:39Yeah. That is my opinion. Yeah. And those are my top five. Okay. I'm trying to think. Yeah, I love 1989, but there's, do you remember my out of the woods phase? Yes, of course. Every motherfucking day. Play it, play it, play it, play it. Yeah. It was like the first time I was ever introduced to a bridge or something. I don't really know what happened. You know what? I remember so vividly of our Taylor Drives in college is when we rediscovered this is why we can't have nice things. And we were driving down Hoover. It was just us two. It was just us two. We were driving down Hoover going back to New Mansion and we were like, this is why we can't have nice things.

45:21Dark. Let out. Because you break them. I have to take them away. This is why we can't have nice things. Huh? Next. Oh, didn't you hear it? All the things you wanted to say. This is why we can't have. Nice things. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And you know when I really fell in love with that song? What? She closed out the rap tour with it. Yeah. Oh, you know what we didn't do? And people have honestly been asking me when I did Sirius XM interviews. They were like, how are you going to celebrate album release day? We actually celebrate it every time. Usually Julia's here. She's not. Yeah. Maybe she'll fly out.

46:05Yeah, maybe. But we have a set plan every time. Brett, do you want to tell them how we do it? Yeah, so, well, which one should we start with, Red? Okay, so I actually, I was, no, I was, I was not present, okay? Jake missed our fearless Taylor's version. Listen. I regret it every day. I went to Brett's room and I said, are you fucking serious? And she said, I'm not talking to you. I was mad. Yeah. And then. We laugh about it now. And then I said, I was in the serious accent thing. I was like, okay, so we'll do a Taylor workout class. And then I said, holy fuck. No, we won't. You have the marathon the following week.

46:50But for Red, release night because it's 9 p.m. Pacific, which is just like the biggest blessing of living in L.A. Ever. Like if you should move to L.A. for one reason, it's that. It's that. We don't have to stay up until midnight. But we did Shibuya for dinner. I think we should do Shibuya again. I think we should too. But we watch Miss Americana right before it drops. Oh, yeah. I would say we should put on the Aeros tour during the day. Yeah. We'll have the Aeros tour on all day. And then we filmed our reaction to All Too Ultimate version. Now we set up the camera for the whole thing. Yeah. And, no, let's like start out how we're going to do it.

47:24We're going to wake up. We're going to wake up. And we're going to go get our coffee from our favorite coffee place of the month. That is what we are going to do. We also take the day off. Yeah. Yeah. It's a holy day. Yeah. You have Sunday. We have that. Yeah. Like. Yeah. It's a very holy day for us. We'll wake up. Whoa. We've been talking about this for quite some time. We wake up. Yeah. We. We're going to go get coffee. And we start listening to old stuff. Taylor all day. Back in the Taylor's version days. We would listen to the old albums to mourn. Yeah. And we'd be like goodbye. Goodbye. Goodbye.

47:59If we're done. Yeah. Because unlike some of you. we only listen to Taylor's versions when we were told. I would get upset if someone played a non-Taylor's version. Yeah, and then someone once accused me of doing a non-Taylor's version, and I said, do you know me at all? Wait, one time I was tagged in a girl who did Taylor's Song of the Day, and it wasn't Taylor's version. I didn't notice, so I deleted it once I noticed. Can I say, hi, I would have done the same thing. Yeah, thank you. But we'll get coffee, we'll come home, we'll sit, probably have phone time for about three hours. Yeah, we'll need to do a lot to pass the time.

48:32We'll do a pre-ranking, obviously. Pre-ranking, of course. And we'll post that for sure. And then it'll get closer to nine and we'll be like hyperventilating. We'll probably take a nap to pass the time. Yeah. We'll go get dinner at Shibuya. Probably we'll have to leave here at four. Yeah, it's traffic to the valley at that time. It's just diabolical. We'll go to Shibuya at five and then we'll get home. And then we'll put on maybe like a prep tour. No, I don't know if right before the new album drops, I want to listen to old music. Yeah, we can take it back. That's when we do Miss Americana. Yeah.

49:03Okay. Yeah. And then it's album time. And you want to know what I think is so special about the Taylor album releases? It's obviously the night of, but what's honestly even more special is the next fucking morning. Brett, I said that yesterday. I said that yesterday. When you wake up and you're like, oh. I have a full new album. To listen to. Yeah. I have a whole new album. I have 12 new tracks. And something so special happened to me the day after Tortured Poets came out. I was on a fucking walk. I was in my air of stuff. And girls stopped me. They were like, you listening? And I was like, no, I'm fucking listening.

49:38Oh, see, that's community. And it's like, community. That's community. When I was on FaceTime with Brett and Julia and we were waiting for the announcement for the life of a showgirl, this girl came running up to me and was like, wait, you too? And I was like, bitch, me too. Yeah. And like, it's community. It really is. It's going to be really special. And it's really, I mean, it's far away, but it's also right around the corner. I think it's going to get here sooner than we think. Girl, time makes you bolder. Yeah. That didn't make sense. Time makes you what? Time moves fast. Time moves fast as we get older, which is the scary thing.

50:20So, yeah. Should we get into the Tommy What's Wrongs? Yeah. Whoa. I like feel like I'm in a haze. The only thing is I didn't do my top five. Do you think people are going to be like, oh, I want to hear Brett's top five? Yeah. And you know what? That's on me. That's okay. We got carried away. Give it to them. Okay. Well, so here's the thing. Can I go on a little bit of a tangent? Please. Number one used to be Cruel Summer. Number one isn't Cruel Summer anymore? Let me talk about it. It was Cruel Summer before the Cruel Summer Renaissance. and I am so happy that the song got the recognition it deserved because it is such an incredible song but like it was number one when it was like like if you know you know and like it still is but now it's like almost like too too basic to be my number one you know what I mean I get it but it means so much to me right Cruel Summer so like I'm wondering if I can like like put it with all too well to Minivertion.

51:20That's in your top five. I mean, I understand that's in your top five. No, no. All Too Well 10 Minivertion. I feel like it's its own entity with Swifties. A hundred percent. I feel like that's like an understood thing. It's like our top five doesn't include All Too Well 10 Minivertion. It's not fair. Because it's not fair. No other song is 10 minutes. It's its own entity. And it's like, everyone loves it if you're a true Swiftie, but it's like its own entity. So it's not taking a spot in the top five. Right. So what is your top five? Okay. So like, I don't know whether or not to put Cruel Summer.

51:49Just don't. You put it in a different entity. Okay, I put it in. So. But just know that it's number one. Okay, so try to show it as number one. I'm just going to do it. I mean, it's obviously your number one. Cruel Summer. But again, before the Cruel Summer hype. For number two, I'm going to go Delicate. Really? Just because, yes, because I've always really loved it. And it's really special to me and Max. Cute. and um he really liked it and like it like we both listened to it a lot in the beginning stages of our relationship and then it was in his spotify rap top five it was his number four song which made me like literally meld yeah yeah all the time he listens to delicate all the time on his own oh i'll kill myself and exile he likes exile he only likes a few like really like a lot he loves he's like loves that i love taylor but the ones he listens to on his own are delicate don't blame me exile the one um I love the one whatever I think that's it um but anyway okay so delicate three fuck this is so hard I know like it's like I feel like I'm gonna forget things and like um but like low-key for three I think August you love August come on love August yeah You've always loved dogs.

53:11I've always. I'm just trying to get comfortable. No, that's okay. You knew your thing. Keep going. And then number four. I think I'm sick. I think you're sick too. And like, don't get me sick. I know. That's why I'm like. Yeah. You hear it. I hear it. For number four. Style. Totally. I fucking love style. I can't. Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow. I can't get enough of it. And then for number five. fuck yeah it's hard it's just it's so goddamn hard let me like try to guess your number five yeah do you want to try to guess it because maybe it's something i'm not even fucking thinking about it feels sacrilegious to not put anything from midnights bro but it also feels sacrilegious not put anything from tortured poets

54:02shit do i move style no style needs to stay because i love the pop King of my heart? No, that's not. No. No. I think. Don't just do it to diversify the albums. I'm not. But I'm really thinking. And like, you know what? It might be Down Bad. Really? No, I don't know. Down Bad was really high up there in my Spotify wrapped. And I like realized how much I love the song. Daylight? You love Daylight. Honestly, yeah, daylight. You love daylight. Daylight. Okay. Yeah, okay. Tell me what's wrongs. Yeah. I found a secret Twitter account my boyfriend has for watching spicy content. Should I be upset? We've been together for almost five years, and he made it in January.

54:51I want to bring it up, but I found it by snooping on his phone. Oh, so you, like, can't. When he was asleep, so he will definitely be upset about that. Okay, can I just say, I have only learned in the recent weeks that that stuff exists on Twitter. You didn't know about Twitter porn? No, I didn't know about Twitter porn. See, if you found out by Snoopy, like, it's like, I don't know. It's like, it depends. And, like, you can't know. But, like, I feel like for some guys, like, some porn is, like, normal. Like, watching porn is normal. I don't really. Like, I don't think it's something to be upset about.

55:22Unless he's, like, thinking about, like, watching it all the time. Well, maybe it's because I'm gay. But, like, gay guys watch porn all the time. I feel like a lot of men in general watch porn all the time. I actually think it's, like, slightly an issue. It's an addiction. Yeah. but that's a topic for another time but like i don't know like i obviously like it's just you can't be like i just knew you know what you should do it's just like maybe this is toxic to me but like have him on twitter and then be like like oh what's your other account oh like be like wait can i show you this tweet yeah be like i need to find this account accidentally tap something and then be like what's this Yeah, because you can go through different accounts.

56:04Oh, that's genius, Brett. Thanks. Thanks. Wait, that's genius. And then he can't yell at you for snooping. I mean, I don't have a second Twitter, but I'm pretty sure it's probably just like Instagram and that like there's like a tap and like it switches. So that's what I would do, honestly. Sorry to be shady, but you got to do what you got to do. Yeah. We prescribe vigilante shit. That part. I went out with all my friends to Vegas for my 25th birthday. long story short I blacked out and my friends informed me that I lost all my money like even some of my savings and low key made out slash dance with a male stripper at a club okay well that part sounds fun I'm not single I am not wealthy how do I recover well did you lose the money yes I thought you just said her friends told her like is it for sure gone so she needs to check on that and then um secondly about the male stripper yeah I would feel good about that I think But the first part, like, you know, like, there has been times where I, in college, lost all of my money.

57:08Yeah. And, like, I just had to, like, take a few weeks off. Yeah. And earn it back. And you would. And earn it back. Yeah. Had a fun time. Which done is done. You would, like, be like, I'm not going to get coffee out, like, every day or whatever. Which is, like, my mom will be like, that's not, like, that's bullshit. Or maybe you never didn't get coffee out. Would you, like, what, not get dinner? I wouldn't, like, I would make my friends pay for me. Yeah. I would make my friends pay for me. I would do it. Yeah. So just make your friends pay for you for a few weeks. And be like, and by the way, I'm not paying you back.

57:38Yeah. I also think the second part of that was that she's not single and she made out with the stripper. So she was like cheating on her boyfriend. She's not single. Oh. That's why I'm like. Oh. Oh, okay. So I would address that differently. I'm so sorry. I'm such a bad listener. Yeah. So you're going to have to let your boyfriend know. Yeah, you should let him know. Or girlfriend, but you have to let them know. But it's like, are we sure your friends are telling the truth? I'd be paranoid. I would never lie to someone about that. Yeah, but what if her friends are bad friends?

58:14It's giving like, you were so bad. I hate when people say that. I know. So I'm like. Even if I was, I get it. Yeah. Okay, I understand. Yeah. You were so bad. you were so bad last night. No, like it's giving me PTSD to USC. That is the most threatening sentence in human history. Yeah. Matt, Rogers, and Bowen Yang, if you're listening to this and you still have the, they have a category in the Las Coltresas Awards for most threatening sentence. That. You need to add that. Yeah. You were bad last night. Yeah. Yeah. But I would maybe, I mean, I don't know. Tell your boyfriend. Yeah. Call your girlfriend.

58:56Do you like that song? We're one and the same. My roommate came home absolutely. Oh, and also, obviously, you know what I'm going to prescribe. One, two, three. Wait. Huh? Wait. We're going to prescribe waking up in Vegas. Oh, duh. My roommate by Katy Perry. My roommate came home absolutely obliterated one night at 6 a.m. in the morning. My girlfriend woke me up to the sound of liquid streaming. She made me go check it out. And when I got to my door, there was a huge puddle. I opened my eyes and my roommate was standing there, eyes closed, fully nude and pissing on my door. He might sleepwalk or something, but how TF do I handle this situation?

59:34Look, so while your experience might sound unique, I've actually heard of this happening before. Yeah, me too. And some people just do that when they're drunk and you might gotta whip out the old, you were bad last night. So true. So fucking true. And like, clean up my door. Yeah, clean up my fucking door. Yeah. And thank God that pee is sterile. Yeah. Yeah. Like, some people's kinks is peeing in each other's mouth. Is pee sterile? Yeah, like, infamously. Really? Yeah. That's why people can, like, golden shower. Ew. Ew. One of my friends can queef on command, and it used to be funny, but now she won't stop doing it.

1:00:15I'm not even going to read the rest of this, because if my friend could queef on command, I would let them do it whenever they wanted. Next. Good for her. That's a fucking talent, I will say. I'm happy that she can queef on command. I think I might have. But, like, what does the rest say? Because I am curious. Like, she'll just randomly queef mid-convo, and it's starting to piss me off. How do I tell her to knock it off without sounding like a hater? Well, you're a hater. That is so funny. That is funny. I think I might have a God complex. I'm very independent, work for myself, and make enough money to live, and I'm in my early 20s.

1:00:54My friend group is all people still in college, so they have their bills paid for respectfully. However, there's a huge disconnect between us and my pride makes me scoff at criticism and boosts my ego to the point where I'm getting uncomfortable with it. How do I remedy this and come back down to earth? Wow, you are so self-aware. Yeah, I think, yeah. You are very self-aware, and that's the first step. Yeah. So you're just too lazy to take step number two. What's step number two? Implementing what you've realized. Right. Because you've realized it. Yeah. So implement it. Right. I'm talking to myself too, so I'm not just being harsh on you.

1:01:31Yeah. But also, like, if you've got your bills paid, you're independent, you're 20. Why do I not think – Good for you. Yeah. Why do I, like, not think – like, have a God complex. Like, you should be proud of yourself. Agreed. Right? I agree. Yeah. Sorry, not to be, like, toxic, but, like – No, I agree. You don't need to rub it in your friends' faces, but it's, like, if you think it about yourself, like – Who cares? Who cares? I would prescribe Independent Women Part 2 by Destiny's Child. Okay. I signed a lease with my best friend to move across the country together after college. While we were packing and she was already in the other state, my just broken up with ex-boyfriend who I dumped because of distance told me that they had hooked up numerous times while we were together.

1:02:09He just wanted me to know before living with her for full context. Now I hate them both. This happened a week ago when I literally signed a 12-month lease. What the fuck? First of all, you need to watch Tell Me Lies naturally because this happens. Immediately. Yeah. But like not in the same sense, but in a similar one. I don't. Can you break a lease? Can you break a lease? Like, no, but like I think that's that would warrant being like, fuck you to your friend, like find a roommate. And I will put up ads too for the room, but like I'm not living here. Yeah. Agreed. I'm a 25 year old grown ass woman and my mom is still babying me.

1:02:49Same, but my dad. It was sweet at first, especially since we're close and have a good relationship. But now it's egregious and to the point where I'm worried about her satisfaction in her own life. What controversial pointers do you have for me to bring this up to her without hurting her feelings?

1:03:07Controversially, what's the harm? If it makes her happy. I feel like it depends what she's doing. What's she doing? Yeah. Like if she just calls you a lot, like she's your mom. Yeah. Like it's okay if it makes her happy. Like, and respectfully at this point, I feel like she's at the age. Like, if my kid came to me and was like, how are you feeling in your own life? I'd be like, excuse me. Yeah. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah. And it's like, my dad babies me a lot too. And it's like, you just need to not baby yourself. And you need to like, I don't know if it makes her happy. Who cares? Yeah.

1:03:38It's a fine line of parents. Because like, I, I like, I understand maybe it's annoying, but it's like something crazy about growing up and becoming an adult is like realizing like your parents are just human too. and they're just grown up children and they're just grown up children and so like maybe it's just like that maybe that makes her happy and like if she's like like if she's overstepping like then you can discuss boundaries in terms of like that but like if she's just like calling a lot or like wanting to treat you to stuff like just let her yeah let her if she's like paying for your stuff pay for your own stuff be like hey mom i'm gonna pay for my own stuff i feel like i I can.

1:04:14Yeah. Like, oh, I'm so proud of you. Yeah. I'm throwing my own 30th birthday party, and as silly as it sounds, I want a theme. I don't think that sounds silly at all. My friends tell me it's stupid to have a theme at 30. Your friends suck. Much less throw my own party. I hate your friends. But fuck them. L-M-A-O. Agreed. So nothing's really wrong, but help me come up with a theme, please. I like horses, yoga, sex in the city, your podcast, thanks, et cetera. Obviously do a sex in the city theme. Sex in the city. Look, I don't watch sex in the city, but I recently found out that they're in their 30s for that show.

1:04:43Yeah. That seems correct. Yeah. Do sex in the city. I think do sex in the city. Have Cosmos. Have Cosmos. Dress up. And if your friends won't, they hate fun. Yeah. They hate fun. That's something that like Max's friends, they love a theme. Great. And like I love that they love a theme. Hold on to your inner child. Yeah. Hold on to the memories. They will hold on to you. Yeah. I needed a second. Yeah. One of my friends, one of my friends has the worst time management ever. She stayed with me recently and every single event we were late because of her. Peyton, I hate being late. I love this girl to bits and we joke together about how bad at timekeeping she is.

1:05:23And I always give her reminders on the day to help her stay in time. But she is still late and it started and it has started to piss me off recently. What can I do? Every friend of yours is, I've said it, is going to have a fatal flaw. A fatal flaw, yeah. It's just your friend. Just like don't go with her to things if it's going to piss you off. You know what? The only thing you can do is, I'll meet you there. Yep. I'll meet you there. That's what Brett does. Brett wants to leave places early all of the time. Yep. And we used to bicker about it, but now she's like, hey, I'm just going to drive separately and like, I'm like, I'm going to leave early.

1:05:52And I'll leave when I want. Yeah. Done. Next question. Yeah. It's a fatal flaw. It's not worth ruining a friendship over. Yeah. Honestly. And I think that's it. Okay. Brett, what did we learn today? But more importantly, what did you learn at 24? Ooh. Okay. Well, what did I learn today? Carly Rae. Yeah. Obviously. I'm going to go listen. Yeah. You have to. I actually will. Just the standard. Do the standard for yourself at first. She has a lot of like deluxe. She has the B-sides and she's doing the C-sides in October, as I said. And then in terms of what I learned at 24, I think I did, well, to backtrack to 23, I did a lot of growth internally and on myself in 23.

1:06:33And then I think that really allowed me to flourish in 24. You had a great 24. I think I had a great 24. and um I think that I just I'm really proud of myself for like the position I've put myself in with friends with work with like my relationship like I'm just really happy with my life which I think is I'm very grateful because like a few years ago like I was down in the dumps let me just tell you that it was not good it was not good and so I just I'm excited for this year and I think that it's also like I really want to like reassure people that like it gets better post-grad so much better and like now I don't miss college at all I don't miss college at all here's the thing I miss I miss aspects of college like oh like a game day would be so fun but like I don't miss college neither do I and like honestly I love my new room so much and I would have never had that room in college exactly we would have never had this house in college we would have never done what we're doing in college and i yeah yeah so yeah yeah well brett i love you so much i love you so much birthday thank you we are gonna have the best weekend ever yay say a little bye pussies bye pussies love you
