In short

Ricky Thompson (comedian/online personality) discusses moving back to Los Angeles, disliking New York’s dating/nightlife, and recounts multiple “crash out” and blackout stories. They also debate reality TV and dating/relationship “icks,” then answer listener “tummy what’s wrong” questions about breakups, awkward friend-group situations, and boundary issues.

Guest backgrounds

Ricky Thompson is a longtime Vine/YouTube-era creator who started a podcast during COVID (later ended). She’s 29 (turning 30), bi-coastal but says she’s happier in LA; family is in North Carolina. She met collaborator Denzel at Digifest (Vine festival) and they’ve worked together online.

Key claims

New York caused seasonal depression and felt “do or die,” with bad nightlife and fewer friends after dating breakups. Dating is “so bad right now,” and men often blur “date vs hangout.” Reality TV is increasingly edited/self-produced and fans online intensify drama.

Notable examples

subway threats in NYC (“I’m going to kill you”), blacking out after a Silver Lake day party, and a date where the guy said it wasn’t a date and she had to pay. Reality TV favorites include Real Housewives (OC/Atlanta/Salt Lake) and Love Island (Serena/Kayla; Amaya/Huda/Brian discussions).

1:43Hi, pussies. Welcome back to Therapist. Today we have on a dear friend and the funniest person I know, Ricky Thompson. Hey, girl. I missed you. I missed you. How are you doing? I'm good. How are you? Amazing. Amazing. You know, living life. You know what I mean? So did you move back here? Because last time I saw you, you were living in New York. I am bi-coastal. Okay. But, like, I realize I love L.A. more. Why? New York is just not for me. It's not. But it was last time we spoke. It was. But now I'm over it. I need to get back to, like, my home, my friends. You know, everybody's here. A lot of people in New York are just so depressed.

2:16Right. Like, girls, a sad life over there. So, you know, yeah. Did you get depressed in New York? I did. I got that seasonal depression. It was so awful. But then summertime is so cute over there. But I'm just loving L.A. Like, L.A. is more me. Okay, well, I'm so happy you're back. Yeah. Did you live here before you moved to New York? Yeah, I've been here for 10 years. Like, this has been my place. How old are you? I'm 29. Going on 30, girl. Ugh, crazy, right? Oh, my God. I know, right? I've heard 30s are better than 20s. I know, I heard that. I'm excited. Like, I look at Kim Kardashian. I'm like, I want to be like her.

2:46Right, and she thrived in her 30s. Literally, literally. That's the plan. Right. Okay, so but you're happy in L.A. I'm so much happier here. Like, all my friends are here. My sister lives here. Like, more family is here than New York. Okay. And where does the rest of your family live? North Carolina? North Carolina, yep. Okay. Yes, yes, yes, yes. I love North Carolina. Do you really? Yeah, and I got great food in Charlotte. Okay. Beautiful. Yes. Love it. Yes. And Raleigh. I loved Raleigh. Raleigh's everything. I wouldn't move back there, though. It's too small a town for me. You don't ever want to go back.

3:12Mm-mm. When's the last time you saw your family? Like, back. Sorry, that was so intense. No, the last time I saw my family was... I saw my mom. My mom doesn't live in Raleigh anymore. She actually moved to Virginia. Okay. So yeah, she lives in Virginia now. And that's the last time I saw her, it was like three months ago. She came to LA. Oh, so you didn't go to? No. I've been there in years. Years, girl. When did you leave? I left there in 2015. And that was when you started taking off online? Mm-hmm. Right after high school. And no college? No college. Yeah. I actually applied for college, got in, had a roommate and everything the day before I dropped out.

3:46Where? What college? Guilford College. Where's that? it's like in Greensboro. And like, it felt like it was bad because all my friends were to UNCG and I was the only one who didn't get in. So I had to go to that school first for a year and then transfer. But I was like, I'm not doing that. LA is my dream. And then you went to LA. Yeah. And you like started out by posting on Vine. I did. Crazy, right? That's when I started watching you. Bitch, really? Yes. Wow. Wow. Why is that so shocking? I was a Vine girl. Thank you. Was it depressing when it ended? No. You were ready? I was ready. I was ready for something new.

4:18I was already in LA I was already like established I was like I really want something new And that's when like YouTube started like Taking off Right Okay Okay So that was that And then when did you start Your podcast Which is no longer But was amazing We'll miss it We miss it We actually started that In COVID So then COVID We just had like A laptop And some microphones And that's all we did girl And then you know We did cute four seasons And now we're like Doing something bigger and better So yes Can you give me a hint We're working on something That people also just see is involving acting. Oh, yay.

4:50So there you go. Yes, I'm actually excited to actually be able to work with my best friend again because, you know, for a long time, like after the podcast, we didn't know what to do next. So now we've just been working on this, you know, work with the right people. So fingers crossed, you guys. And where does he live? New York or LA? No, this is LA. Oh, great. So you guys are together. He was like, I cannot live in New York. I don't know how you did it. I was like, I don't know how I did it either. I like literally wouldn't come back home now. Did you have any fun in New York? When I saw you at the shoot,

5:18Like, hello. You did. I did. And I re-signed it just in case. I'm just going to have my place there just in case I want to get away and go to New York. Like for Fashion Week and stuff. Right. Honestly, I don't miss it at all. I'm good. Yeah. Nothing. But I feel like the dating scene for gay people is better there. Oh, what? Are you serious? No, it's even worse. I had no luck. I went through like three other guys down there. Three. In like two months. I just got over one just now. Okay. Yeah. Was it? How was it? I was getting over that guy. It was easy. I get to the point now I'm at the age where I just don't have time.

5:49And if it's not going to work out, I don't care to do it. Right. Like, girl. I'm like, okay. Wait, but you had no fun. Like, New York wasn't it at all. I didn't. New York wasn't fun because, okay, here's a little rundown about New York. Okay. When I was living in New York, when I first experienced New York, I was dating a guy there. And I made friends with all his friends. So, you know, when you break up with your boyfriend now, no one's going to be your friend anymore. So I had no friends there. Not one friend. Not one. So what did you do on a day to day? I was in the house a lot. I had two friends there One moved away One had a falling out with So once they were gone I was like I have nobody here Like nobody So I was like Let me get up out of here And now you're here Now I'm here So happy But the nightlife here Is just so ass Oh my god The nightlife here Is god awful Like all we have Is like we ho If that Right honestly If that I mean I've been like going to What I've been doing recently I've been A lot of my friends Been having house parties recently Yeah Yes, girl.

6:47I've been outside waving it up. Outside. In the hills, girl. You know what I mean? Oh, that sounds fun. Yeah. Do you ever go out? I never see you out.

6:59I'm like, well, babe, you need to step outside. I don't. I went out this weekend and, like, the crash out was just not worth it. Where'd you go? I went to this place in Silver Lake. Well, I went out all day. Okay. So I went to a Darty. Okay. We love a Darty. Which was great. I just didn't I didn't have any Of my girls with me Okay So I was struggling Okay Cause I was like Oh I had one of my girls With me But like I I didn't have The rest of them Oh no And then I went home I continued drinking And then I I went out that night But I blacked out So badly Don't you hate that Yes I hate that I don't enjoy it Me neither But it always happens I'm like I'm too old for it now How old are you 25 Oh my Girl You were the 25 Oh I was blacking out down boots 25.

7:45Really? Yes, babes. Yeah, since you're putting a blackout. What's the worst you've ever blacked out? Oh my God. Oh my God. The worst time I blacked out. I think this was honestly maybe like two weeks ago. It was crazy. I woke up with the worst anxiety ever and I was like, what the fuck happened? Like, what did I do? My friend was like, girl, you were on one last night. No, and that's the worst. I'm like, I don't even want to hear what I did. Just let me just, I apologize. You don't know? No, I don't want to know. He was like, you just had fun, I guess. So I was like, okay, I guess. Leave it alone.

8:17I woke up to text on Sunday like, are you okay? Oh, I hate that. Don't ask me this. That's the worst. I'm like, that is the worst. Are you okay? No. It was like you were just having a little moment last night. Ooh, not a little moment. And I was like. It was a big moment, girl. And then everyone kept saying, like, we would tell you if something really bad happened. Right, right, right. Oh, no. So what are you not telling me? Ooh, I don't like that. I just don't want to know. Okay, period. We're going to move on. Have you ever gotten someone to tell you about something you did years ago, Blackout, but like you didn't know until years later?

8:47Yes. And that's the worst feeling ever. Because I'm like, how could I do that? Like I get so embarrassed. Like I don't like that ever, ever, ever. I really, yeah, I had, I think my worst scaries ever was in college once. Ooh. It was, they didn't, my friends didn't talk to me for a week. So just think about that. Oh, it was a big crash out. Yeah. Oh gosh. Oh God, girl. Oh, that's the worst. And I woke up and I knew, and then I didn't tell my other. Don't you hate that feeling? Yes. Oh, I knew something bad happened last night. I felt it. I felt it. And sometimes it's just out of sight. Right. Just like, let it go.

9:20What's your star sign? Aquarius. I knew it. What's your sign? Scorpio. Oh, I'm actually an Aquarius Virgo Scorpio. Virgo. Is Virgo rising? Yeah. So that's how you present. Mm-hmm. And then what? Okay, I'm a Scorpio Gemini Gemini. Oh, ooh. Oh, God. Oh, my God. Girl, a Gemini? I know Like you guys That sarcasm Is too much for me Do I have sarcasm? I don't think so No I don't think of Gemini I'm like sarcastic now I'm like no I can't do it What's Denzel? Capricorn So he's So Denzel's the one In like Cause you guys are like A pair when it comes To working sometimes And he like Plans everything Yeah of course I'm like that Yes that works I agree with him Yeah And how'd you guys meet?

10:06We met at Digifest Do you remember that? Oh my god Digifest Was that before What was that big YouTube convention? PicCon? Oh VidCon Did you ever go to VidCon? No I was never Oh T Yeah Well it was Digifest It was like the Vine Festival And how was that? And that was everything It felt so cool to actually be in New York And people were like Oh my god you do Vine And I'm like yeah I do And they were freaking out and screaming And I remember Denzel He showed up And I looked at him And I gave him the biggest hug And he's still in New York He's like what the fuck are you doing And I was like oh my god I love you Like we're friends We've been best friends ever since So I love him down And then you guys both started online Yep And where in New York is he from?

10:46He is from the Bronx Okay Okay Oh so you wait You're from New York Yes So you understand how sad it is over there Yes Yes Oh girl Okay Yes Yeah it is sad I was super depressed Yeah Like I don't I feel like every day Is like a mission out there Yeah It's like nothing Nobody's relaxed No It's like everybody's stressed out Trying to make it there And I feel like people in LA They are like, they are ready. Or they're not, but they'll pretend to be. Yeah, exactly. And I love pretend to be, please. Right. You know? But my thing with New York is like, I just would have so many mental breakdowns because everything was so do or die.

11:20Yep. Like one time I took cooking class when I was in eighth grade. And I had a mental breakdown with all my utensils on the subway. And I sat on all the utensils and started crying. Are you serious? Yeah. You were taking the subway in eighth grade? I took the subway starting when I was 12. Were you not scared? No, I was. And I've had like, but no, after the first time, it was like, whatever. But I had some weird experiences. Oh my God. The subway is terrifying. Like one time some guy came up to me and just looked at me and said, I'm going to kill you. Are you serious? And I just like looked away and he kept saying, I'm going to kill you.

11:50See, that's also New York. Like you're not supposed to pay attention to bystanders either. You're supposed to like really mind your business. Yes. But like, I want to know. Right. Like, what? Like, that's crazy. And then he got off the train and kept looking at me through the window and said, I'm going to kill you. Was that like a normal day for you or something? No, it was weird. I remember getting to school and being like, I was in eighth grade. And I remember being like, something weird happened to me on the subway. Yeah, that was very crazy. And then another time somebody whispered in my ear, give me your money right now and your phone.

12:19Excuse me? No way. And for some reason, I just kept walking. And he kept following me and following me and following me. And I just kept walking. I used to be so brave. Yeah, I mean, New York can make you do that, honestly, truly. It's actually crazy to me how many crazy stuff goes down to New York. Did you ever have like a scary experience in New York? I mean, I just had like a guy like staring at me. That's about it. And I was like, okay. Yeah. And then did you have like a sweet old woman next to you be like, is he staring at you? Yes. There's always a sweet old lady there on the subway. I'm like, where are you going, girl?

12:48Right. No, so sweet. I love it. There was a guy once doing the same to me. And she said, do you know him? And I said, well, obviously not. I'm going to protect you down. Yes. So cute. It is. But the one thing about New Yorkers is they do have each other's backs. You don't feel that way? Yeah. I will say that the friends I did have at the time, they were like, okay, we got your back, girl, and I was okay. Did you have a favorite nightclub in New York? Yes. Do you remember China Chalet? Do you remember that place? Oh, did you ever go to the city? You know? What is China Chalet? It was the most fab, it's like fashion club ever.

13:23It was like a Chinese restaurant they shut down after COVID. It was so sad, but it was like the club. I used to go there all the time. my one thing about LA is they close so early here I know but I mean they've been doing that though but why I don't know I feel like the freaks come out so it's like they don't want to like you know right but the afters are cute here sometimes sometimes yeah do you ever go you don't need a good afters either or you need to come outside I know I need to leave the house yeah you do I'm just like deep in a TV show binge right now and I can't what are you watching I'm so glad you asked oh my god tell me Mr.

13:55Robot whoa I was not expecting that Wait, really? Yes. Really? With Rami Malek. I love him. So hot. So hot. So hot. He's so hot. Like, actually, I'm not really into, like, short, short guys. Yeah, he's so short. I would like that. Right? Yeah, I'm down. Have you ever seen Mr. Robot? Uh, no. But I've seen a preview. It's amazing. Is it? I don't know if you would like it. I don't like sci-fi shows. No. I love, like, comedy. Like, I just finished too much. Oh, I'm almost done with that. Oh, my God. I saw your scene. Oh, you did? I didn't talk your shit, girl. I filmed that in New York Period It's such a good show I love it I love Meg Love her She's so funny I love how that show Has a little bit of comedy And a lot of drama So it's really good It's a side I haven't seen from Meg So I like it It's really good And her co-star That guy He's so hot So hot I feel like he's short too And I kind of like it Yeah I'm like Do I like short guys?

14:44Yeah me out Right What else are you watching? What else am I watching? I've been watching All the Real Housewives Okay let's talk Okay let's talk about it Let's chat. Lay it on the table. Okay, so which one's your favorite? Right now, I'm going to say... Right now, currently, let me say OC. What? Right now. Right now, because right now. No, right... Yeah, right. But my all-time favorite is going to be Atlanta, of course. Right. With Miss Nini. I've only seen early seasons of Atlanta. Okay, period. And you know my also favorite is Salt Lake. Like, come on now. I'm just so... Like, the only one I can give my full heart to right now is Salt Lake.

15:19Okay, period. I mean, Salt Lake is, like, such a good, good franchise. I would never think, though. That's who they are in, have you met them? No. That is who they are. You met, oh, it's film and see, come on girl, give it to me. So I was with Heather and Angie at the law school. Love Heather. Love Heather. I love Heather. Heather is just, and she got a lot of shit last season. She sure did. But I don't know why, I really love her. Yeah, I think she's like an easy target. That's what it was, yeah. You know who else I love just because she's so messy and I used to hate her? Who? Whitney. I love Whitney.

15:50She brings the bone always to the table. Always. Always. I'm like, she always got a bone. I'm like, girl, what you know about now? I live. I live for her. Do you miss Monica? I miss her because she brought the drama. That was a crazy season. That was insanity. Like insane, literally. But I would think, okay, Bronwyn. Not my favorite. Not my favorite. I hate her outfit. Sorry, girl. I hate her. They look, they're very like Picasso, abstract looks. It's just like, my issue with Bronwyn is that like, she can't take the heat, but she can sure give it. Oh, she can give it. She can read down. But she was like, no, you know who can really read?

16:34Who? Angie. Oh, you think Angie? I think Mary. No, what Angie, well, obviously Mary, but when Angie said, what did she say? Her husband has one foot. Oh, on a banana peel? She said, oh, she's already crying. I said, ooh, and the drama with her. Yes. I miss Jen. Oh, Jen. Will she be out? I don't know if they'll have her back. Her crimes were really bad. Were they really that bad? Have you seen the documentary? No. Take a moment. Okay, period. Take a moment. Watch the documentary. Because she just said, like, identity theft, right? For old people. It was bad. Like, these old people lost all their money.

17:09She was stealing from the old? Yes. Wow, okay. But she really brought it. She really brought it. She really brought the drama. I loved her. I loved her crash out. But yeah Oh no She can't stay on now No she can't No no Okay so I think You've seen all of New York Yeah Okay I love I hate the new season I did not like it What Okay Oh so you watch everything I'm like I'm an OG New York Okay Like you know With Oh my goodness Ramona Yeah The new cast Right It just didn't really give anything Did they cancel it They did I think they did Cause it was that bad It was that bad Like those two seasons Were not good at all I felt like the girls, they're cute, but they're not cute for Real Housewives.

17:51Well, didn't they, like, play a prank or something and then, like, trick the audience and then admitted that they tricked the audience? What, this last season? Like, Brynn or something. They made up some lie about someone being pregnant. Do you not remember this? What, this last season? Yeah. The right brink got kicked off. Right, because she, like, made, she, like. She, like, said that, oh, my God, it was, I know it was very serious. But early Atlanta's the best. Oh, my gosh. Oh, NeNe, her against Kim, everything. I remember her against Kim. Oh, loved it. But then, like, I didn't watch, I don't think, when, like, Portia came in.

18:23Really? Because that's when Kenya came in. No. No, I watched when Portia came in. I must have just been so fucking young. The only one I remember is Kenya, Nini, and Kim. Really? Yeah. You remember the rest, like, Sheree? Oh, I remember Sheree. She by Sheree. Come on now. Did that ever launch? It did. Okay. They're just t-shirts. What was it supposed to be? Athleisure wear Work life wear I don't know But it just came out With a t-shirt Said she That's right Did they like Were Did she Was she embarrassed I would be Right But she kept it going though That's how I lived for her Yeah It is what it is man And who's Is there any of the OGs From Atlanta still on Oh Oh you didn't watch this season Oh okay The only OG we have On the show is Phaedra We have Portia And then Kenya Got kicked off Phaedra's still on?

19:14Mm-hmm. She came back. I love her. I love Phaedra. I love it. But this was just really, like, not her season at all. Wait, why? The drama, it wasn't good. I feel like we don't have, like, the old drama anymore because they're, like, inviting all these new girls. But also, I feel like they're so— I feel like the issue with Modern Housewives that Salt Lake doesn't have is that they're so privy to what people say about them online and they self-produce so much. Exactly. So it's a problem. Exactly. That's like now. Like, old Beverly Hills? I need old Beverly Hills. Like, I need— I feel like I need wealthier.

19:43You know what I mean? Yes. Like, you can't touch. Yes. It's almost like everybody rich now, child. Right? And it's like, but it's also like all smoke and mirrors. Yeah. And like, if you're a housewife, like the chances of you going to drill are so high. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Because now they all do glam and they all have to pay for these events. Mm-hmm. And I'm like, why doesn't Bravo pay for these events? Do they not? No. All the housewives have to pay for their own events. I'm pretty sure. Wait, so you're telling me they go on trips, they're paying for them? Yes. Then what is Bravo doing? With bringing the camera.

20:09Oh, T. Yeah, bringing the camera. I think I'm right. I mean, I would have thought Bravo, like, okay, you have, like, you know, this budget, we'll do a trip. They have to. The housewives are not paying for a trip for them to film. Really, though? I don't think so. Bravo has to do that for them. Come on now, Andy, girl. Come on now, girl. Yes. Are there any other Bravo shows you like? Hmm. I do like Summer House. I need to get involved. I love Summer House. Summer House is really a cute show. Southern Charm was cute Are these all Bravo or this Mace is Peacock? No it's Bravo Did you watch Love Island this season?

20:48Of course I did Right? I watched a few episodes and was like I don't need to do this It stressed me out too much The way the internet took Love Island And really are like fighting like they know these girls Is really insane to me Like I think it's actually mentally like a problem It's worse than last season right? It's really bad I've seen like men who are like 50 going off on Huda. And I'm like, you need a job. Like, what are you doing? It's really, really bad. It's like, I've seen so much drama on TikTok and stuff. I'm like, you guys are fighting these girls' battles. They don't even know you.

21:22Right, they don't even have their phones. They don't have their phones. They're like, girl, why are you going this hard for me? This is just a show. Like, they are like, they're making it a big thing than what it is. It's really, it's like people need to go outside, touch some grass, go work out. This is just too much. And I thought the show was done, but now they just keep talking about it. That's the end of my timeline all the time. Who did you like, though? Who's my favorite? Yeah. My favorite's gonna be Amaya. Always Amaya because she's like a real girl. And, you know, I love Shelly. I love Alondria.

21:47And, you know, people are gonna be mad about it. But I did like Hudda because I've crashed out like that before too. I loved Hudda. I loved her. From what I saw, I was like, she's great. She's great? I'm like, girl, I've crashed out like that. Right? That's so valid. I've done it before. I'm so sorry. We've all been crazy like that before. Of course. Come on now. If I'm gonna find love and I'm in love, like, hey. Also, like, I'd be so paranoid in that house. Oh, me too. The cameras are everywhere, girl. Everywhere. They got them in the toilet, everything, child. Like, you didn't even know. Really?

22:09Like, you was like, oh, my God. They're in the bathroom. They're up here, there, everywhere. They would really catch me acting up. I can't be up. But I want to be on it so bad. Did you like, you on Love Island? I would love to be on Love Island. How good would a gay Love Island be? I would love it. I would love it, but we would be nasty on there, girl. I know. I want it. I want it bad. Didn't they have one? that they had like a... It's called I Kissed a Boy and it's a UK one, but it's... Oh. The issue of it is that they paired the guys up before they even get there. Oh, okay. No, I want to actually go in the villa.

22:38Right, and like, it's different. It's different. And like, did you watch last season of Love Island though? I did. So are you watching Beyond the Villa? I am. Kayla's bringing it. I love it. No, I live, I live, I just love like Serena. I love... Oh, Serena's made for TV. She really is. Serena and Kayla. She really woke up Love Island. Like, that's the reason why, like, come on. A hundred percent. She woke it up. She did. Well, she crashed out about Cordell. Period. That crash out was so valid. I love her. Oh, a hundred percent. And I think that's, but she did an interview and she was like, I didn't think anyone watched the U.S.

23:11respectfully until once I found out that, like, when everyone watched my season, I was like, oh, everyone saw me crash out. Yeah. And I loved it. I was like, girl, this is so real. Like, I would do the same thing, too. Like, how you gonna mess on and come back with that girl? That was crazy. That was awful. And where is she now? Where is she now? I'm like, hey. Well. Well, Ricky, what are you therapist about today? What am I therapist about today? Oh, my goodness. Just men in general. Right. Honestly. Like, I feel like dating is just so bad right now. Like, are you dating? I'm trying to. What do you mean trying?

23:45Are you on apps? Like, I'm on apps, but it's so hard to. Like, there was, I'm going on a date this Friday. Uh-oh. No, no. But then he was like, but maybe we, it's a party. And maybe we should invite other people. So I'm like, I'm like, oh, that's like a friend, girl. You know, I hope you find your love, girl. I won't. Is he hot? This guy? Yeah. Was it like he described him? He has like facial hair. Yes. Meow. Right. Oh, yes. Six foot something. I love a six foot something. Right. He's really, really, really hot. I just don't know if what I'm going to experience Friday night is a date or a hangout.

24:24Well maybe he's gonna like You know introduce his friends first Maybe that's like You know the first move I'm not looking for new friends Oh period Are you? No I'm so over it I'm so over the guy Let me get to know you I just need a ring now Have you ever Have you ever been on a date And the guy's been like By the way this isn't a date Yes Me too And I wanna cry What happened to you? So basically I was like really into this guy Like I was really into him I was like oh my god Like he finally has to hang out And then we get there He was like you know what I'm just letting you know right now I'm not looking for a relationship I'm just trying to like figure things out This isn't a date, it's like a hangout And I was like okay and I had to pay for the meal That's the same thing happened to me The same thing happened to me I was like okay, you're like you can't crash out Cause I'm like I don't think I still really want you Wait you can't be like well date me Right, I can't decide, you real crazy Like no I don't want that but yeah it was really awful It really hurt I had like a pussy come up to me After I was told that it wasn't a date I love how you call them pussies, I live for it I love it, I love it And they said, I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt you on your date.

25:28And I was like. Oh, God. On a date. And I paid. Wow. How did that make you feel? I wrote a song about it. No way. You're really heartbroken. I was really. I'm like, I made a comedy album. But this is the one song that everyone was like, I don't think you were kidding. I'm sad. And it was like embarrassing. But it's a banger. Oh, Louise. Just thank you. Are you going to release it? Did you release it? Oh, yeah, I sing it on tour. Tea. I smell Grammy. It's coming. No. Did you and Denzel ever take the podcast on tour? No. Before we could actually, like, do it, it stopped, so. I miss it every year.

26:10I miss it so much. We talk about, like, if the podcast was on, we would have had the whole cast of the violin on there right now. We would have got to the nitty gritty girl. Also, I want to see, I need to know, I need somebody in the villa to tell me what it was like when Sierra was removed. right? I want to know. I want to know. Because I saw Amaya. Amaya didn't really get the full information. I said, I know something else went down. Wait, what did Amaya say? She said when she was on the Call of Duty episode, she was like, you know, we didn't even know. Like, she just went away and she was just gone.

26:34No, girl. Was that true? Remember that clip? Was that her crying in the back? Did you remember that? Oh, when, um, who was in the interview? Laundrie. Yeah, Laundrie was in the interview and then you hear no, no, in the back. This episode of Therapist is brought to you by SeatGeek. This episode of Therapist is brought to you by Booking.com.

28:10Booking. Yeah! Okay, so right now, it is about to be football season, okay? There's a lot of people traveling for games in college, out of college, whatever. When I was in college, it was so difficult to plan these games and I could never go because it was so difficult to find a place that everybody could stay. Depending on what the hotel had, like if it had what you needed, if it was in the location you wanted, all of that. And so with Booking.com, it actually makes it so easy to book because everybody can put in their different needs. I never go on group trips because finding a place that suits all of us is so difficult.

28:49But if somebody wants a king bed, if somebody wants a queen bed, if somebody wants a shower, if somebody wants a tub, if somebody wants a terrace, if somebody wants walkable, you put all these things in and it shows you the rooms that have it all. I really stand by the fact that I think the hardest part about booking a trip is figuring out where you're going to stay. You know, flights, you always find a flight. You always find activities to do. But finding a home base is so hard. and booking.com makes finding a home base for your trip so easy. They also have vacation rentals, like house and apartment rentals.

29:18They also have, you can rent cars if you drive and you need a car for vacation. Like they really have everything you need to make your vacation as full as you need it to be. Or even if you're going solo because you want to know that the hotel or the place you're staying at has exactly what you need. Find exactly what you're booking for on booking.com. Booking dot, yeah! Yeah! Nick is just like... He is so sexy. Those eyes. And like the way he talks about like... Ooh, you can just definitely know that he knows how to protect his woman. Uh-huh. I live for that. Wow, me out. Who did you vote for in the finale?

29:53Him? Ooh, I voted for... I did vote for them. I did, because I love Alondria. I love her. I love how real she is. She's everything. I love her, but I was also getting upset with her. I was like, girl, this man does not want you. Wake up, wake up, wake up. But I get it, though. Nick is... Nick is... Nick is better for her. And they look so good together. Yeah, what did I... And she brings out a finer side of him, too. Right. Well, they're, like, obsessed with each other. I know. I want that so bad. I know. Do you believe in Huda, or not Huda, Amaya and her guy? Do you believe that, like, what love island relationships do you believe are not real?

30:21I was talking to Jens about it. I was like, who do you think is the first love island couple to break up? And he said Amaya and Brian. I see that. I see it, too, because I feel like Brian was in the villa enough. You know, he saw the ticket, child, and he went for it. But I don't know. Maybe he's, like, liking her now, because how can you not like her? Like, I'd be obsessed with her. She's so fucking funny. She is so fucking funny. I love her. She's everything. How do you think they're going to, like, change the season for next season? I don't know. But this season was undoubtedly a disaster. It was a disaster.

30:50Like, literally. I've never been more mad at TV before in my life. Wait, really? I was so sick and tired. I was like, there's a video my friend was like, he was on TikTok Live. I was like, oh, I'm sick of this show, like, in the background. Like, I was at the club watching it on my phone. But people weren't happy about watching it. It was so bad. It was badly edited. it was just like it was so much background stuff going down you had people getting kicked out left and right for being racist like Jesus Christ there was no background nothing nothing like the girl you Lisa you Lisa whatever oh yeah she was kicked out like day two girl right they said wake up

31:24they're like you gotta get out girl out the villa I thought now she's over here doing meet and greets no way yes she's doing meet and greets hey you guys we're gonna meet and greet at the dolphin mall I saw that I'm like okay girl Like people are coming up to her. She's like, I love my fans. I'm like, girl. Wasn't she in for two episodes? Uh-uh. I think she left episode two. I think they're like, yeah, you left the villa. And I was like, oh, wow, damn. But it's like, let's be, I wish they were messy and they would show, like old reality television would show people leaving. I know. I want to say a crash out full down.

31:58I don't like it. Do you ever watch old reality TV? Oh, yes, of course. Bad Girls Club? Of course, yes. I love Bad Girls Club. It's my favorite show of all time. I love it. But I really will say this. I hate the way Natalie is now. Me too. I hate it. I really hate it. Did you watch Baddies? I watched one of those. I couldn't do it. It's too much, girl. Okay, I watched Baddies South. Oh, we got a fan in the house. I watched Baddies Southwest, and then I fell off on Midwest. Girl, I didn't even know they had a Midwest. No, they have Southwest, Midwest, Caribbean, and Africa. How do you know that?

32:30Because I am like - Are you describing to Zeus? Yes. Period. I can't I feel like that TV right there will fuck with my mind No and it did I just I missed Bad Girls Club so much What Bad Girls was to me as a kid was like What was your favorite season of Bad Girls Club? My favorite season When I had to be with Julie With New Orleans I'm rewatching New Orleans I loved her on the show Tiara was my favorite What was the other girl Anastasia who beat the girl up for having yeah Anastasia love it she said I'm gonna give you five seconds boop boop boop see I missed that now the fights you have hit breaking teeth and all the stuff I can't use you and it's not for me well okay so you don't watch but like basically every episode of Baddies goes like this group meeting group meeting cause they have to go out for the night and they're like and then every every single episode without fail you get one confessional of a girl goes you know when Natalie calls a group meeting you know some shit's about to go down.

33:33Every episode. That's every episode? And then they get in the group meeting, and Natalie says, before we go out, we need to squash our problems. And then somebody stands up and fights somebody else, and then somebody else stands up and fights somebody else, and then - This is every episode? That is the rundown of Baddies. But what is also, like, the premise of the show? Like, I just said, get this bag, get this money. What money are you getting? Okay, so it actually used to be real. Like, Baddies South, they had, like, they would go and do club appearances, and they would make money. So that was the bag they were getting.

34:02And like, the drama on Baddie South felt real to me. Oh. But you know what season of Bad Girls Club I did just watch? What? Did you ever watch season five with Kristen Kelly? No, which, oh. Miami. I haven't watched it in years. Okay. Oh, I do remember when they went to Miami. And they had that cute little house. It was on South Beach, right? Well, there's two Miamis. Oh, okay. One's a more recent Miami, which was the worst. Do any of you watch Bad Girls Club? Did either of you? Oh, my God. Really? Y 'all didn't watch Bad Girls? What? You missed out. Oh, wow. Live out loud. Oxygen. I miss Oxygen.

34:36Is Oxygen a thing? Is this a good? Oh, wow. I don't think so. Well, no, it must be. On Oxygen, I used to watch everything. Everything. Reruns of America's Next Top Model. Reruns of Bad Girls Club. What was it? The murder show? Snapped. Snapped. Oh! Girl, I was like, I'll be angry. Snapped was my favorite. So good. Oxygen was the best channel. It was. It was. It was everything. I don't know why they got rid of it. because I guess reality TV just like changed now. Well, do you want to know what really changed about reality television was the drinking rule? Oh, I know. So they used to be like, you guys can black out.

35:08Right. And like, if you watch Old Bad Girls Club, like they literally black out and like they don't, they wake up the next morning and they're like, sorry. But like on Love Island, they're like two drink max. I understand that though. Like I feel like if they really were allowed to get, like it's only wine too. If they would get some tequila up in there, it would be a big problem and liability and stuff, you know? Because the girls have to sue nowadays. So it's like, yeah. Right. Well, you know what ended Bad Girls Club, right? Oh, the whole thing with the twins? Yes. That was too much. That was...

35:38That would say you took it too far. Well, the producers encouraged it. Yeah. And they were like... Yeah, tear her shit up. Do that, do that. And they were like PA-ing and like... Girl, I wish somebody would. Oh, my gosh. Oh, I would have left in handcuffs that day. Yeah. Sometimes I watch that show and I'm like, how did... Like, do you remember in Julie's season when they tried to kick Julie out? Yes. They took her, and then Julie took Shelly's girlfriend's thing. Or do you remember? I served you breakfast in bed. That was awful. Priscilla literally beat her bloody. Literally. What was that season?

36:09Kevin. No, what was the one they pushed homegirl in the pool when she broke her ankle? Flo? Flo for. Flo. Them throwing water balloons at her. That was Natalie's season. Really? Yes. Oh, wow. I miss that Natalie. Yes. She was fab. That was like, I run LA. I run LA. She did completely change. Like, why? You got a little way more, you know, a little rough on it. I'm like, girl, what's going on, girl? That's crazy. You love baddies like that. Wow. The only reason I subscribed to Deuce Network was for Tokyo Tony's dating show. How is it? I love it. How is it? It was the funniest show ever. Like, that was TV.

36:44She's hilarious. She is. Have you seen her interview with Megan James? No. It is unbelievable. I need to watch. Because I love Tokyo Tony. She said, she's the one where Megan is like, so you make your money from bookings and stuff? And she said, no, I have businesses. Like Tokyo Tony trucking. Yeah, she does. You see her Enterprise building? No way. You didn't see that on TikTok? No. She was like, you know, we have a place you do massages, you get your nails done. It's literally just a townhome. And it's called Tokyo Tony. Yeah, Tokyo Tony Enterprises. You walk in, you can do tattoos, you can get a massage, you can do hair, nails, lashes.

37:17Where is it located? I think in D.C. D.C., yeah, she's from the DMV. I have to. I have to go. I want to go. I will go with you. I'm actually scared to go. Well, her show with Blac Chyna. Oh, I loved it. Was that on Zeus, right? No? I forget. I don't think so. Zeus wasn't until recent. No, I think there was Zeus. Because who's, you know, like who, like who's buying that show? Yeah. I was like, I wasn't VH1. Oh, and I miss VH1. VH1. I mean, I still watch because they do like love and hip hop on there. Oh, yeah. They do, yeah. Oh, that's where that show is? I used to watch Rock of Love. Oh, love Rock of Love.

37:55I used to watch Charm School. Yes. Which was where the Rock of Love girls would go to be charmed by Sharon Osbourne. And then I would watch, was Tila Tequila a shot of love with IMTV or BH1? My mom was so, like, worried I was watching that show. Yeah, me too. Like, that show was, that's like the first, like, I didn't know about bisexuality. Me either. Until Tila Tequila. Did you ever watch Paris Hilton's My New BFF? Oh my gosh, yes. Did you really? I did. Did she actually keep in touch with? No, I don't think so. I don't think so. But then I watched Flavor of Love. Oh, Flavor of Love was everything.

38:28And I love New York. I love New York. New York gets a job. Everything. Or was it New York Goes to Work or something? New York Goes to Work. What else did we have? We also had... Or there was the series like I Love the 2000s, I Love the 90s, I Love the 80s. Or did you watch the Money Show where they'll pick the people from different shows that you get the money? Like Big Money or something like that. Do you remember that? Yes. Yeah, you see it? You see it now? Yeah. Wait, what was that? Oh my gosh. Because they had like Reel Enchants on there. Yes. What the fuck was that show? You see it, don't you?

38:59Yes. It was a VH1 like reality game show. Yep, yep, yep, yep. But it was like they were all in a house together. Uh-huh. Oh, I'm gonna go crazy. That was a good one. That was a great one. And there was like the Pussycat Doll show. Like finding the next like doll. Right. Then there was Dr. Drew. Yeah, I actually like Dr. Drew. Me too. Oh my gosh. Celebrities have problems. I did not. Yeah, Celebrity Rehab. Loved it. Loved it. VH1 was the shit. I used to watch videos on it. Literally. It was better than MTV. Because MTV had really shows. Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore. I miss Jersey Shore. I mean, that, talk about my everything.

39:31I love it. I don't really watch the new season, do you? They're like old now. So it's like, damn. They can't party how they used to. No, but like, I went out with Snooki once and she blacked out and lost her wallet. Period. I love her. See, come on. Have some fun. That is who she is. Yeah. Okay, do you want to get into the tummy what's wrong? Oh my God. Get into it. Okay. I feel like you're going to really like these. Oh, yes. That's a thick envelope, girl No, it's thicker than usual these days Oh

39:58My boyfriend of three years broke up with me with no closure We share a friend group and all of us went in on a summer house Our whole situation is so fucked up Help Girl, I mean Why are you still hanging out with your ex-boyfriend's friends? Are they together? No, they broke up Yeah, but I think it was in the same friend group the whole time Ooh Yeah, I wouldn't go Even if she paid for the house? I wouldn't go I would say you guys are going to give me a deposit or something. I can't do that. I can't. Would you? No. Yeah. But if you paid for the house, would you still go? Yeah. I'm sorry. That's so awkward.

40:30What if he has a new girl? Oh, I'd be Huda. Period. He's knocking everything down. Yeah. Bitch. Oh, yeah. No. Sorry, girl. That sucks. My boyfriend just joined an acapella group. Oh.

40:46Next. Oh, my gosh. Like he's super talented But this group is only guys Which is fine But overall just fully gave me the ick We've been together for over three years Oh girl Ick down What is this glee? No No girl I think I would get an ick If someone did an acapella I would be Oh my god I'm mad She starts I'd be sick Like you are your own instrument That's not it Oh my god Oh my god And what if he does like that thing Like I feel like acapella like brothers are so strong Like what if he's like Does something romantic And they all come out singing to you at dinner Oh my god I would be Oh, wait, we're done.

41:19But it's three years. I don't care. Next? Next. Oh, my God. Ew. Sorry, girl. Right? How old is the guy? Do we know? It's giving college. Okay, I'm about to say, I thought he was like, you know, 30, going to acapella group. Is that so much better? I mean, yeah. I mean, no. Or worse. It's worse. It's worse. I feel like, you know, that's something you do in high school. What's the strongest ick you've ever gotten from a guy? The strongest ick. Oh, my God. The strongest ick I got was, I was talking to this guy. He was younger than me, and he called me his elder. What? Yeah, he was like, aw, my elder, you're cute.

41:54I was like, the ick I got? Ew, gross. He was like 26. I'm like, what, like three years older than him? And in the moment, like, what did you feel? Oh, my God, I felt like an old bitch. I was like an old bag of bones, girl. I was done. Next. And did you break up with him? I did. So my roommate has no boundaries and keeps bringing her girlfriend into our shared dorm. Her girlfriend lives a literal five doors away. I'm so bad at confrontation, but be so serious.

42:23I mean, I don't know. Doesn't the girlfriend have a roommate too? She must be upset. Where are they supposed to go? Literally, I don't know. What if you? This is my girl.

42:37My best friend stopped talking to me, and when I confronted her, she said, I think we outgrew each other, and I haven't thought that much about you, to be honest. oh i'd have stung down oh my god i would fall to my knees i would feel so sick i like oh wow let me she don't give a fuck about you girl has that ever happened to you before that's happened to me um like younger but that's happened to me i've done that to somebody actually no ricky yeah i've just gone completely ghost that's so wrong with me i know like what do you mean you just stop responding as being an aquarium it's like we can get over things very quickly really i can mess up and be friends for 10 years you do one thing to piss me off i'll be done with you drop you down like no problem are you serious yes and you feel nothing feel nothing i sleep good at night It's so awful.

43:15It's so bad. It's so bad. I'm trying to, like, be, like, more sentimental. I'm such a realist. Like, if I know. So what happened with this one person? Oh, this one person. Well, okay. I had a very valid reason. This one person was, like, talking to this dude that I was, like, we broke up. And then he was, like, oh, well, you guys broke up. So why can't I talk to him? I was, like, I was done. But it was, like, you know. Gay men are diabolical. They really are. Like, I don't know what it is about us. But if we want something, we're going to get it. It's, like, do or die. Literally. I remember one time I was dating this guy, and I'll never get this.

43:46And this is why my ex was like, you're just too much. I was hot in this situation. We were at the club. And this guy was like, ooh, your man is fine. I said, yeah, girl, I know he's mine. Well, can we not share? Bitch. I got into a big argument. He had to pull me back. And then my ex was like, you are too much. I'm like, you wouldn't be? Are you serious? Can we share? Can we share? We can't share? Ooh, bitch. Girl. Depends, girl. No, no, no, no. Oh, speaking of ghosting. Okay. My ex-best friend ghosted our whole group. Now she's inviting us to her birthday party. Like, everything's fine. Love her.

44:19I don't want drama, but I also don't want to go. Help. Oh, I kind of, like, live for her that little bit. She's like, girl, just come to the party. I need people to come to the party. Just come to the party, girl. Just come to the party, y 'all. I also am like, at least she's inviting you. Wouldn't you be more mad if she didn't invite you? Literally. Right, and maybe she'll tell you why she ghosted you. Maybe, like, okay, when I think about this, when people ghost you, they're probably going through something really, really bad that you don't know what other people are going through. Right. So it's like, hear them out.

44:44That's why, I mean, I've been through that. My friend's like, damn, bitch, you've ghosted us. I was like, girl, I was going through it. And I don't want to share my problems with you, too. Right. Are you easy to open up and share your problems? Or do you keep them to yourself? I hold my problems up, but when I get drunk, it's when I let them all out. Me, too. I'm like, bitch, remember two years ago when you did this to me? It was actually awful. Yeah. So I'm like, mm-mm. But I feel uncomfortable when people are like, it's going to be okay. Sympathy makes me so uncomfortable. Oh, okay. So I actually love when people pity me.

45:10Mm-mm. It makes me so uncomfortable. Why? I don't like it. They hug me like, no. Uh-huh. Yeah. Yeah. Are you and Denzel like similar people or does he like pity? Oh, my God. I'm too much. He's like someone who's like very hardcore. I love to compliment him, love on him. He's like, please don't touch me. Too many compliments. 100%. Have you and Denzel figured out your Halloween costume this year? Oh, my goodness. Well. You know my favorite Halloween costume from you and Denzel. What is it? Cheetah Girls. Period. We ate that. No, that was sickening. Was that the one with the Cinderella one? Yes.

45:45I don't want to be a Cinderella. We literally cut up fabric and made those costumes ourselves. It was spot on. It was spot on. We ate it up. But this year, I don't know. We may be traveling during Halloween this year. Doing what? I mean, I'm not going to. L.A. Halloween is so boring, girl. L.A. is boring. It's the same thing. It's every year. But we may be going to Ghana in October. What's your favorite place you've ever been? Hmm. I will say recently. Madrid. Have you been? No. Oh. What? Is that in Spain? Yeah. Okay. You should definitely go. And I've been to Barcelona. Oh, I hate Barcelona. Why?

46:22It's so boring. What? Madrid is like more of the party lifestyle. Ooh. Yeah. And the men there are so fine, girl. Wow. Really? Oh, my God, yes. So where do you go out, though, in Madrid? Well, my friend lives there. He's in, like, the hottest, cute, like, gay clubs. They're so fab. I want to go to Madrid. You should go to Madrid. I go doing Pride every year. I was just there last Did you have a good pride this year? I went I don't do pride in America Oh Yeah I'm thinking about it You really do travel I do I think I'm going to Ibiza In the beginning I was just there So fab Love Ibiza And I think I'm gonna go back Will you text me Like maybe recommendations for hotels Yes I got you I am like the travel queen Okay I love travel I didn't know this about you Well every summer I do like a European summer Do you really stay here During the summer time?

47:03Can you bring the pod on the road? I mean like I know I could I guess But I was in France They're so rude They're just If you can't speak their language They like Overly talk in French To try to embarrass you It's not my team And there's not really That many guys in France And also the liquor there Is awful Like there's no like So what's the appeal about Madrid? The men Okay That's it girl The Madrid men Yes I think I need to go Yes you do ASAP I think I need to go I made out Oh I want to know If this has ever happened to you I made out with my neighbor And now every time I park He comes outside Coincidentally shirtless Oh my god yes That's happened to you?

47:39It's like a different type of situation. I've had a moment where I've hooked up with somebody at the gym, and they will be in the bathroom at the same time as me every single time. I'm like, oh, girl, not again. Have you ever done the steam room? I'm too terrified to do that. Have you? No. I thought she would be a little bit more different. I thought she would be the quiet ones, but she gets down with the get down. No, no. I'm so timid. I'm scared. I'm like, actually, I feel like I've gotten uncomfortable when I've, like, gone to, like, gay parties, like, overseas. Oh, God, girl. There's a whole lot different scene over there.

48:13What? They're just, like? You know, just touching and stuff. I can see it. I'm like, oh, my God. But, oh, my God. They just have sex in public. Yes, they do. So, I'm like, mm. Wow. I know. It's actually amazing, but it's, like, I feel like I can do it because I don't want to be like, oh, my God, like, I know you. That's how I feel sometimes. That's how big it is. You know, it's like. But like if I, I would, I would partake. I would partake down in it. Are you kidding me? I would go in that sauna. I'm just so scared. Oh my God. Yeah, right? That's what I get scared about. I remember one time I went to a bathhouse in Barcelona because I went for pride.

48:44Uh-huh. The first person. Oh my God, you're Ricky, right? I'm like, bitch, you butt ass naked right now. Oh my God. And everybody's just like fucking everywhere. Really? Yeah. See that, I want to partake. I want to so bad. I'm the girl in the corner with her towel. Just like, aw. Like so bad, but I know I can't do it. I can't. All right, last one. I slept with a guy and he had a name tattooed on his chest. I said, aw, that's cute. Is that your sister? And it was his ex.

49:16I don't really see the problem. You don't? I do. Well, like he must have been so in love. Well, that means you don't love me. Because I'm so sorry. I feel like if you have your ex sad on you, that means you think about you're gonna get back together with them. That's happened to me before. I will never forget that. There was this guy I was talking to so hot. So hot girl. I still think about him to this day. Like oh my gosh. I remember he had like an A on his wrist. I was like what does it mean? Oh no it's my friend. And I met his ex. I said what's your name? Yeah. I was like oh wow. And then that was it.

49:45That was it. I was like oh you still love him. They got back together too. No. What's the hardest you've ever crashed out over a guy? Oh my gosh. I crashed out. There's actually a picture of me crashing out of the club one time. Someone got out like this to somebody. Could you try my man? Yeah. When I'm with my man, don't try him. Don't look at him. Don't say he's fine. Don't touch him. Don't buy him a drink. Don't do nothing. And I don't want you talking to him either. I don't want my man talking to you either. I love my man. Quiet. On mute. Thank you. Thank you. I speak for you. I need to see this photo.

50:18I need to find it. I'm going to find it. Will you send it to me? I got you. It's crazy. Well, Ricky, what did we learn today? That man ain't shit. Yeah. And it's okay to crash out, you know. Maybe I need to watch Real Housewives of Orange County. You do need to. I'm trying to tell you it's actually tea. This season's good. It's good. It's good. Okay, well, Ricky, thanks for coming on the show. I love this. Did you have fun? I had the best time ever. I had so much fun with you. This is my girl. I love it. Let's, like, actually hang out. Let's do it. Let's get you out the house. Yeah, bring me outside of the house.

50:46I got you, babe. Okay, well, do you want to give a little bye, pussies? Bye, pussies. We're all.

51:17We'll be right back. next day on Hulu. Side effects may include laughing, cheering, and lots of high fives.
