Guest backgrounds
Not applicable (no guest speakers).
Key claims
- “Where’s Jessica” works as redirection for toddlers (12–24 months) during tantrums; Dr. Ari Brown calls it mood-shifting redirection.
- Phone-free time improves engagement and reduces distraction; photos can be handled by bringing a camera instead.
- Budget accountability: if a purchase is over $100, they text each other; they’re tightening spending after early-year big household/baby buys.
- Summer House drama is rated around 6–8/10; internet coverage can quickly flip public opinion against Amanda.
Notable examples
- Toddler stops crying when searching for “Jessica” after being told it’s time to go inside.
- Bubba initially refused real bunnies at a “bunnies and buddies” event but loves the phone-free routine and a battery-powered play kitchen (blender/mixer/toaster/coffee maker).
- They debated a handcrafted $23.98 phone box after Bubba broke a previous one.
- Baby name: a frontrunner fell off (West/Wes), and they’re excited about the current name (bleeped on-air).

0:41Also, do ask us about our thing we've been doing because we have been doing it. Okay. Welcome back to another episode of Two Parents in a Podcast. Today is a great Thursday. You know what? Actually, I got to give it to you for your shirt choice. I don't know if you're on YouTube. You can see what he's wearing. It's really cool. I wanted to steal it from you, but I thought it was still in the package. So I figured I'd let you wear it first, but I'm going to take that. Of course. Wouldn't be the first time. Tell us about it. I found it. I just saw it on Instagram. Oh, the classic. Yeah. I've got to say, Apple Pay on Instagram.
1:17It's just one-click purchasing. It's unbelievable. Brutal. Double-click, face ID, send. Yeah. TikTok shop is the same way. but I'll say this about a website. If I'm ordering something and I get to the end and it's like, please enter your card number. At this point, I'm like, no, no. I want to Apple Pay. And if I can Apple Pay, I'm 100 times more likely to buy it. Yeah, the increase in conversion rate when you have Apple Pay on the page is just so much exponentially higher and definitely worth the fees. But do brands have to pay more to have Apple Pay? I like we on our website have everything because we want to make it as easy for the customer.
2:02But I know that some companies don't use Apple Pay. And I think the driver of that is is financial reasons. I don't know if this is true, but what I recall it being is is I think the liability on Apple Pay on like tap. I actually don't know. as it was coming out of my mouth I was thinking about tap versus apple pay but like not let me just kind of re reset on this I think that it's just not I think if you don't have apple pay on a website it's largely because you don't have your e-com stack dialed in like I couldn't really understand a reason why you wouldn't have apple pay on your website I will buy it if there's Apple Pay.
2:51It's too easy. I don't have to go find my card or look up the number. Yeah. Oh, that's how I bought Bubz's. We're talking about it in this episode, but her play kitchen, it's how I bought her, her food and her little blender and like the electronic things. So it was really easy. Speaking of what are we talking about today? We're talking about, oh my gosh, you guys, we have a baby name. We're not telling you the name, but we are going to tell you one of the names that we were kind of thinking about that fell off the list. Um, but I thought about our name all last night like i'm really and i knew we would find the name i knew we would find it and i heard it yesterday out in the bout in the wild and that so that's our name it wasn't the first name i'm excited i'm actually excited about every other name i just kind of like kind of like trying to convince yourself into this is a high conviction name yeah i'm really excited who are you telling i don't even tell anybody i don't even think we believe it not even neighbor t no just to see if you can keep the secret?
3:49I told the neighbor girl last night, I said, I'm so excited we have a name I'm not going to tell you. And she texted me and she was like, I'm really excited that you have a name. I can't wait to see the baby that it belongs to. Like really nice text. But she never asked to know the name and I love that. Well, I told him after the mothership last night. Harrison went to the mothership, the comedy mothership last night. Okay, so we have a baby name. I tried the Where's Jessica. I'll let you guys know if it works. We're going to talk about swearing around kids. We're going to talk about the play kitchen.
4:14We're going to talk about reality TV because I posted a question box and everyone was like, we want to know what Harrison thinks about the, is it Summer House drama? And I was like, okay. I mean, because we don't live under a rock, so we've definitely seen it. And then I saw a funny clip about a boys trip, so I'm going to ask Harrison about that. And if you're, you know, if you're here, somebody else messaged me and said, please, LOL. Please subscribe to the podcast and like the podcast. And if you're on Spotify, click follow. Okay, let's start. I have a question before we start. Oh, yeah. Please ask the class.
4:48thank you very much what was the the feedback on the please that your your canadian is showing okay okay i people mad i called it out no okay i just kind of can't with this whole thing his canadian is showing who objectively you two has just far better manners is me i i don't think that's fair i have but i do i actually do think i have and so your canadian is so funny i think it's the please and thank you like apparently it's the actual usage of please and thank you okay it's very very canadian okay okay i love that i have one other thing from the commentators that someone said i'm screaming this at my phone right now um harrison said he didn't know who the sprouse twins are but he's been talking all about how much he loves friends and oh my god i know who they are.
5:42Ross's kid. Yeah. People really wanted you to know that and clearly you do now. Well that light bulb just went off. That was a great character. But that was one kid. It was a twin? No, it was just one of them. If they marry Kate and Ashley Olsen-ed us on that show and I didn't know, I would have a heart attack. I don't think that they did. So that's a totally different like that's yeah, that's different. Well they just wanted you to know. No, that's amazing. Thank you. But hold on. They are real twins. Yeah. Okay. Because Lindsay Lohan, I thought was a twin for a while, but she's not. No, that was just her twice.
6:16Yeah. Her two time. You know what we're talking about, Parent Trap? Yeah. That was a good movie. You saw it? Yep. Did you guys get all the classics up there in Canada? Oh, yeah. You did. Also, one show that we didn't talk about when we were talking about shows that you must have watched, Degrassi. Never saw it. What? Yeah. Okay. Never saw it. that's like the most Canadian of Canadian shows yeah I didn't watch the Canadian shows I watched the American shows oh okay you were trying to get to America I was born to be American I loved America from like the beginning I truly did why do you think that is?
6:52football? I don't know do you want to do a cheers like Bubber and you do? cheers Bubber's really into cheers right now it's really cute alright let's do the baby name so I'm about to cough Damn it. My tears didn't go down well. Maybe I'm not. Harrison coughs so much. Poor thing. Well, this is a good little side tangent. Okay. Are we waiting on the cough? I think it's not going to happen. I went to get my annual checkup. And oh boy, was it an underwhelming experience. You do annual checkups? I was like, you know what? I'm going to take it upon me to go and like look up a GP and find a GP as I found some random dude on Google.
7:41And I'd like never felt more like someone just wanted to get me out of the office. Like I was there. I wanted to ask questions. I wanted him to like really understand, take an interest in my health and optimizing it. Like, no, it was like, you're here to check the box so I can check the boxes and then like on to to the next client so my question to the audience is if they have any uh GP recommendations in the Austin area like even if I'll even do it virtually like where I can send them my blood work and it it was it was just like it was bizarre so I saw this like and and the reason I brought it up is like I brought up my cough it was like and I think his response was like oh no well your bmi's in range I was like well that doesn't make any sense you need to get like a uh something that goes down your throat to check it out yeah maybe I should go see a gp and he could tell me how to look at it yeah no it was it was very upsetting no Harrison this is what's happening so I saw this video of a wife and she made a tiktok about her husband's protein bar sitting out before he goes to work yeah and all the comments are just like i found out that my husband drinks a cup of milk before he leaves for work and one girl said my husband started a new job and he ate his lunch in his car for the first week because he didn't have any friends at work and it's like all this story it's like really wives feeling sorry for their husbands and just like this sad thing that we don't think about these like really manly guys doing and you going to the doctor and the doctor just wanting you to get out of the office makes me really sad oh don't be sad no i just i just want you to get taken care of because i think it's cute you scheduled the appointment i think the ultimate way to test like about company culture and it was funny my first day in banking i remember alex cost mom asked me at some point i think she probably asked me a week or two after she was like well what did you like what did you do for lunch and like did anyone take you for lunch and a guy did a guy named Corey Williams and you still remember his name yeah of course I mean I'm still I'm still loosely in touch with him I you know I'm gonna text him I probably haven't texted him in 12 months but um and it spoke to like recognizing someone's here someone's new and if you don't go and get lunch with them like they have no one to get lunch with no no and then i think about i was rocking bubber last night and i was thinking what if somebody what if she doesn't have somebody to eat lunch with one day she will she's so personable i hope she'll always have bubber didn't like the bunnies yesterday what was up with that she didn't she was scared of these bunnies so we went to a mommy daughter bunny playing it was it's called bunnies and buddies and there was all these sweet little bunnies and there was like a photo area set up and all the little kids were loving the bunnies and I took Bubba over there and she just and I never really seen her lock up before I've never seen her lock up she wouldn't pet the bunny she didn't know what to do about these bunnies she was holding on to me for dear life so I just said we're not doing bunnies that's okay we just we went and sat up top and there was music up top she started dancing she was handing everybody LaCroix saying dada dada and then I opened her one and she drank it and said dada dada drinks so she knew she she knows i love my cans she knew all about that she was not interested in the bunnies at all we don't even have a photo of bubs with the i mean she wouldn't even touch the bunny wouldn't even touch it various and you told you told her papa pat yeah i was like pat pat pat the bunny mama's gonna pat the bunny mama's holding the bunny all the other babies are hold bunnies are safe they're fun bunnies go hop hop Pop, no.
11:39No bunnies for bubs. Made her bunny pancakes this morning. You made her bunny pancakes this morning. And I'm also, okay, so I know you probably don't want to talk about this, but I'm going to talk about this, and you can just tell me if you don't want to talk about this. What we're doing, if Harrison and I spend over$100, do we got to text each other? So I'm going to send you my text right now for something that I'm going to get, and you can let me know if you think it's a good idea or a bad idea. Because what we can't say about this, because we're just going to do it for the month of April, And what we can't do is say like, no, you can't buy that because that's not how we do our finances.
12:09But Harrison said, I want to get Tate a shoe rack. I said, we don't need that. He said, you're right. I'm not getting it. I want to hire an Easter bunny for our Easter brunch on Sunday. And it's over$100. Love it. No, love it. Do it. Love it. Well, once again, we're not doing approvals. We're doing telling the other person. And so you think, but I really want to know, do you think that's a worth it expense? For sure. it's experiential experiential no experiential you're right jules experiential yeah do you want me to should should we talk about this this budgeting tactic that we're doing sure well we went we went back and you read us all of our big charges from the beginning of the year and i yes and where where i'm really proud of us is you had three big charges and i had three big charges that were for ourselves.
13:00Harrison's was like the running stroller. High rocks. What were mine? I don't even remember. Uh, revolve. I had a big revolve order before our baby moon, which I returned most of, but for some reason I'm not getting that credit. But the point was 95 % of our expenses were for the household or for the family. So we were really proud about that. It was our couch. It was the, you know, we just did a new nursery. Like one of the bigger ones was his crib. I did all of his order from one spot for the baby boy. So like we were fine with it, but we're done with that. The house is furnished. Okay. We've done, everything is purchased.
13:36So moving forward, we're like, let's really tighten up our spending. So if you want to buy something that's over a hundred dollars, let's text each other just to talk about it. And for example, the shoe rack fell off the purchase list because we don't need it. yeah so i think we're like 80 on the same page all right let's talk about it yeah i i think that like i i think our spending got pretty out of control over the first three months of the year and and like if you're not going to change it now change when will you and so what i was thinking is just like what is something simple that we can do that holds both of us accountable and obviously like we're in a in a very unique and privileged situation like we are a dual income household and so like inherently you can go buy whatever you want and i can go buy whatever whatever i want um but like that isn't inherently what is the smartest financial thing to be doing and it's just inherently unnecessary it's also what we don't we don't want to do and so it was yeah i also and so to me it's just like how can i drive accountability around my personal spend and I can drive accountability around my personal spend by telling you every time I buy something over 100 bucks.
14:54Like if I need to text you just being like, hey, I'm buying another pair of running shoes, your response will deter me from buying it versus like if I text you saying like, hey, I'm buying a pair, I'm buying a button up shirt to wear home from the hospital. I know you'd be like amazing so like your response I think will affect my response of Harrison Texans and I'm buying another pair of running shoes would be you just got a pair a black pair and a white pair we cannot have one more pair but I need you to be to hold me accountable because I think you're much more YOLO around this stuff and so like the way you challenged me on the shoe rack I need you to keep challenging me.
15:46I will. I'm going to. I'm just telling you no more tennis shoes, right? In my opinion. Guys, let's talk about First Day. First Day makes clean, science-backed multivitamins for kids, teens, and adults. Here's the thing. Sometimes you might have a picky eater on your hands. I think that a lot of parents can be like, that might be me. And if you have a picky eater or a kid who only wants to eat chicken nuggets, you're likely going to experience big emotions when they don't get that and frequent outbursts, trouble concentrating, and maybe even they can't stay calm. The best way to support their mood and behavior is to give their brain the nutrients it needs for healthy growth and development, which is where First Day Daily Multivitamins comes into play.
16:26It's one of the first brands with vitamins designed to fight hidden hunger and nutrient gaps. First Day makes clean, science-backed multivitamins for kids, teens, and adults, you guys. there's no sugar added and no artificial ingredients no faked dyes and no crushed bones which like why do we even have to say there are no crushed bones with just two gummies a day you're boosting your kids nutrition mood sleep and health there's nine essential vitamins for brain and mood support one thing i didn't realize at first is that multivitamins shouldn't be a one size fits all your nutritional needs change as you grow which makes sense clinically absorbable family safe actually effective for a limited time only our listeners are getting an insane deal use code two parents to get up to 57 off at first day.com that's up to 57 off and a free gift with code two parents at first day.com after you purchase they will ask you where you heard about them please support our show and tell them that we sent you but i actually did buy something this morning it was 23.98 what'd you buy second time i bought it but i'm committed to buying it what is it i bought the first one bubs broke it and it has to do with our goal and bet the thing that we've started you were not but you did not buy that it is it is beautiful okay you have to tell us now okay now the goal is every day from 5 to 7 30 yes can i can i tell this yeah because it's your goal even though i'm because i start so i've really started like my phone goes away in the mornings um except when i'm recording us cooking okay so let's just call that call that out but if that phone isn't recording cooking it's it's up in the room and most importantly i've stopped taking it to the coffee shop with your permission because in case I don't feel good so it's like hey are you feeling good enough that I don't in this case I'm just knocked out um and I found that you're just you're you're I'm more engaged I'm noticing little things it's higher quality time and so I came home the other day and I asked Alex like what do you think about if between the hours of five and seven thirty our phones go in a drawer to which I applied literally zero issue and it's been great and we have been doing it you guys have because no one's been contacting me from 5 to 7 30 it's noticeable so you've been doing it we have been we've really we've been putting them in a drawer wow and it's been we have been going on well like we have been having so much fun not having our phones with her because we're so attentive but we were always attentive with her but even just the ability to like look away for a second is distracting but here's the biggest my biggest problem with it photos there her she was sitting at the piano the other day playing the piano and I was like I want to remember this moment forever so my solve is I'm just going to start taking my camera with us like my literal camera is going to come to the park and things because I love looking at photos of bubs but that's like a really easy fix we do not like where i want to potentially push you on that is like part of also what i like about not having the phones around is like she isn't looking like she's not attentive towards the phone and part of the issue with the camera is like the minute that there is something else there her focus can go there too and so like is there a disposable camera ray-ban meta glasses the ray-ban exactly that's a great one jules the meta glasses are perfect for this because i want i want her focus to be on exploration yeah i totally agree i think it's really good for her it's good for us and the time flies by yeah i i but hold on yeah you why and so i'm back to the thing he purchased he purchased the phone box the electronic box which bubs was playing with and it broke why did you put the drawer is perfect putting them in the drawer is perfect i'm not the the one part of it i'm not loving is the drawer and i there's i found a nice box it doesn't look like it's 23.98 i should have lied about the price it like i don't know it's on amazon it's like hand carved acacia wood and it'll look beautiful in in the um you might have to be them to text me every time you buy anything okay plan i so might be good for you i actually think a good update is texting around any purchasing that isn't food or like baby oriented related no baby oriented related might be good for me because like i wanted to go buy bubs all these clothes yesterday and then i was like she does not need that and that's like the delineation is like Like clothes would be a text, but like diapers, wipes wouldn't be a text.
21:38So necessities. Yeah. So food and baby necessities, no texting. Yeah. I think that would really like I would have been, I would have talked you out of this box so fast. But I didn't ask intentionally the same way I asked about the, the shoe rack. I didn't ask you about this because like, this was for me. But you don't need it. I'm going to have Bubba put the phones in the, in the box is what I thought about. She's going to take the door off again of your handcrafted, handmade box for$23.98. She's going to break. Maybe not. Maybe not. All right. We've got so much to talk about. We're going to start with the baby name.
22:16So the thing about the baby name is with Tate, we had a bunch of names. And Tate was like one of them that we liked. It was probably my favorite. But we kept saying we want to see the baby first before we named the baby officially. and Tate was almost Izzy in the hospital. Like remember I was randomly was like I love the name Izzy. Like she looks like an Izzy but like. I am so happy we didn't go Izzy. I never liked Izzy. I think of Izzy from Grey's Anatomy. So I never saw Grey's Anatomy so I guess that. And I didn't like the name Izzy in Grey's Anatomy. Great character. Didn't like the name. Here's the best advice I've received on names though and I've received it from two moms that are older than us that I really respect and they both said the same thing and that is go to the hospital with a name or else you're going to walk out of the hospital with some random name and don't change the name in the hospital.
23:04And I thought, okay, that's actually a really good point. We can't go in with no names. And so I'm so glad we had Tate on our list. It was our favorite and we stuck with it because now I love the name. So I really wanted to do that with this boy. I didn't have any names that I, that I loved. I had a couple that I liked. Now this will apply to everyone. The, our barometer for like a name that we liked, we bleep it on the podcast. That's how we know it's a front runner. If it's in the mix. If it's in the mix, we'll bleep it because then we don't want to say it. And that means we really do like it.
23:36One of these names that we had been liking, not love, but we had been liking was West. And we recently, I said to Harrison because of all the Summer House stuff, I said, I never really liked the name. I don't think we could name our kid this now. And Harrison's like, I've never really liked it either. Like it was kind of the best one we had, but I agree, no. So now West, there's the name and it's off. It's off the list. Yeah, I think that if we didn't come up with the current absolute frontrunner, it still would have remained in the mix, though. But I don't, and that would have been sad because I don't love it.
24:08This blip is not enough to change. This moment of reality TV drama is not enough to change. If we loved the name. Yes. If it was our favorite name on the planet and we absolutely loved it and we were so excited about it, no problem. For sure. But we were... I thought his name was Wes. it's West with a T I think yeah which was the name we liked like W-E-S-T yes we liked West I thought his name was Wes his name is cool it's a W-W right what's his last name? Are you sure? I'm positive yeah I looked I looked West Wilson yeah Wilson that's a cool name he's a cool name good name good name West Wilson good name bad friend he's in the mud right now but so anyways funny just funny little tidbit that one did fall off and like correct we would never change a name for internet drama but we didn't love it.
25:00This new name you guys has made me so excited to have this baby. I thought about it all night. Every time I woke up last night to go to the bathroom I was like aww. Yeah I'm sold on this one. And I've got my nickname off the name. Like we were calling her Tateys or Totsky. I've got my nicknames. A lot of good nicknames. Yeah. So we're thrilled and it just everything worked out. Um, yeah, that's, that's kind of all we have to say about the name. So now the natural segue here is to talk about your take on the summer house drama. If you don't know what's going on in summer house, basically two people were married.
25:39Um, Amanda and Kyle were married and they got divorced. Amanda's best friend is Sierra. One of Kyle's good friends, his name is West. and basically Sierra and West used to hook up from what I understand. I think they were like dating. Okay. They were dating. Let's call it. And then Sierra and Amanda people love because they're like girls, girls for each other. They'd say we'll never let a guy come between us. Okay. And then Kyle and West are friends. Yeah. Is that accurate? Yeah. Okay. The news that has broke is that Amanda, the girl that got divorced and West Sierra's ex-boyfriend per se are dating and people want to know what you think about this as a new um as a new reality tvist they didn't even say they were dating though so correct they have a connection correct and and I think I saw something yesterday that he was exclusively Wes was exclusively dating someone else in Chicago I did see this as well when the news broke.
26:47So West is the guy and he has this reputation of being kind of a ladies man. Yeah. And so apparently he was dating somebody else and Amanda. Okay. So I have a couple questions out of the gate. Okay. Okay. Scandaval. Correct. Okay. I don't know anything about this. Scandaval, I got fully up to speed on Scandaval. Jules, are you up to speed on Scandaval? Loosely. Okay. Like I know it. That to me was 10 out of 10 drama. Yeah. Do we collectively agree on that? Yeah, and like broke containment. Like that was out of control. Living together, married, and cheating aggressively with the best friend. Like in all moments of life.
27:35And on the show and all this. Like we were watching it, right? Isn't that the whole thing? People were like watching it unfold. Yeah, for years. Like truly for years. she was dating someone else like the whole the whole nine yards if that's a 10 out of 10 what do we think this is on a drama scale it's tough because i don't i don't want to throw taylor frankie paul into this mix but we kind of have to because we're talking about internet drama right now taylor frankie paul's bachelorette getting canceled the video dropping the time that the video dropped that to me was a nine and a half or a 10 as well i mean that to me is a 10 that's a 10 as well so what is this in comparison i don't know i'm giving this a 7.5 or an 8 i was gonna say a 6 or a 7 i was gonna say yes 6 to 7 in perspective like it's getting covered like a 10 like this is all over my tiktok so one i'm just a little confused as to like how is this so big because the clear delineation is like all of them were single they had broken up and so were they shitty friends were they shitty people like absolutely that is is the direction that that feels appropriate but like they broke up i think i know i think i know why because i did ask some of my friends okay the current season is airing right now and there's like a lot it's like very emotional and like will they won't they with wes and sierra again and amanda being a really good friend to her and it's like the juxtaposition of like what's happening in the season that's airing right now every week and then what's happening in real life it's like throwing people for a loop okay cool so the audience is wondering how did we go from this of her like holding her hand through the west thing to now she being the one dating yeah okay so so still not a nine or a ten let's be honest if a routine takes longer than five minutes it's not happening especially if you're a mom or if you're pregnant or if you're on the go and that's why Merit Beauty believes that great makeup should be effortless and I think things are really leaning that way too effortless beautiful beauty their clean thoughtfully curated essentials help you get a fresh polished look in minutes with products you can swipe on blend with your fingers and move on with your day if your motto is less is more well then your morning routine should feel the exact same way Merit is a minimalist beauty brand that makes elevated makeup and skincare designed to help you look put together in just minutes.

30:39Yeah. So remember how on last week's episode I talked about how like sometimes I'll watch movies on TikTok? Yeah. So I'm on Summer House TikTok. So I think I know 5 % to 10 % of what's going on the show because like I just get these clips and I'll watch a couple of 30 second clips a week. Correct. So I have a very high level idea of these, of these characters. Um, and, and I think here's my general take on the situation. One, I'm, I'm stunned at the amount of coverage it's getting. Two is my mind goes right to Amanda because it felt like Amanda was about to have a moment. Like she was about to shoot into like that next level of exposure, like red carpets, like reality TV shows, hosting different reality TV shows, big, big brand deals.
31:38And now this move just seems to have like knocked her right off that trajectory, which I feel very bad about. She was the one in the breakup that everyone was cheering for. Yeah. And so it just shows like how quickly the internet can turn against you. Because like it felt like the world was cheering for her, as you just said. And now it feels like the world is cheering against her.
32:06So that's the first. I think the world was really cheering for her to date somebody. I don't, from what I gather, people don't love Kyle. They weren't loving Kyle. A hundred percent. That is the takeoff. That is what I've witnessed. Now the ball seems to be in Kyle's court here. Like somehow she's given him the opportunity to like step up and be the winner in this. And I think that's like she dated the one guy that did that. So that's my point three is this is Kyle and Sierra's moment. Correct. Okay. What do you want to see from them? Okay. Give us the Archburger take. Okay. Out of both of them, we need to see the high road.
32:43Don't get petty. Okay. I watched Kyle's reaction video. Have you guys seen the video? Yes. Part one or two. I thought it was like 80 % there. Correct. The 20 % that just needs to go is like he got obsessive over Wes's Instagram growth. 50 ,000 followers. People are following him. Drop it, dude. Stop monitoring. Drop it. You guys broke up. You were betrayed. It sucks. But you want the best for your exes. You want the best for your friends. take the high road with them, focus your attention on Sierra and her well-being and yourself and your well-being. Don't get petty. Don't get petty. Then, Kyle, look at the business opportunity here.
33:36Correct. Because we know Kyle's having trouble with Loverboy. And if you're going to get petty, monetize it. Correct. So, Kyle, here's my advice for you. lover boy let's drop a flavor called betrayal and what we're gonna do is the flavor is gonna say one thing wild cherry wild cherry but you're gonna open it you're gonna drink it peach and you're gonna get peach okay boom limited drop the betrayal edition it would fly off the shelves And we need to incorporate Sierra into this too. That's an angle I haven't figured out. Okay. She needs to get her bag from this too. Can they not have a Sierra drop the Sierra and it's Sierra's favorite flavor?
34:26Done. Okay. And that flavor, that's an honest flavor. That's a flavor where we just, that's a, we'll call it mango because that's my favorite White Claw flavor. Okay. And it's the best, crispiest mango flavor that anyone's ever had. Oh. And so there's the Sierra and there's the Betrayal. Or there's Honest and Betrayal. And Sierra gets a rev share of that. Love it. If you want to talk details on Celebrity Rev Shares, the Creative Rev Shares, I have some experience. Okay. But it can be a great win-win. I think that's a genius idea. So we just take the attention and we run with it. Done. I think my last kind of personal take on this life dynamic happening is I've always personally taken the approach of like, if my friends dated someone, they are off limits to me.
35:15Okay. I've always, and I've taken that extreme and I've always been the friend that backs the friend who gets screwed over. Okay. And I've had two friendships go completely south over this dynamic. Okay. Okay. And that's where I was growing up through high school, through college, and through those other 20s years. Where I feel personally a little bit different on it now is what I alluded to before. And that is like if you learn someone isn't a fit for you in life, I do think we should want what's best for them. Even if that does mean some element of friendship dating. I just think the most important part of it, if that's going to happen, is honest communication around it.
36:02Yeah, it feels like these two blindsided. Kyle said he found out online. And the comments I've been seeing is that they adamantly denied it. And so I think had they gone about this a different way, it could have been a totally different story. But I think that the lying and the betrayal around how it was handled is super, super noteworthy here, especially because there was a dynamic where Jesse asked to hook up with Sierra and Wes said no. Oh. Confirmed? Yeah. That's the one episode of Summer House I've ever watched. And so like Wes planted his flag as a guy who ultimately said like we don't we keep we keep things clean.
36:54So Jesse did it the right way. Correct. Kudos to Jesse. Jesse then to my understanding was a good guy and didn't violate Wes's trust. Right. Can we confirm that. I only watched the one episode. But let's just pretend that that happened. The little that I know, Jesse, I would say that he probably did not go on to violate his friend's trust. Yeah. And so like that is the big piece here is like you just got to be honest about your actions. To be clear, I am not someone whoever crosses that line. And I've never done that. A lot of people do. I don't support it. But if you're going to do it, I just think you got to you got to communicate around it and you got to know.
37:40If they say no, then you're going to make a decision to lose a friend. But you could make that decision then. But if they say yes, you can somehow hopefully find a way to keep the friendship. It seems like Amanda and Sierra are best friends on this show. That's my understanding. That's my understanding as well. Your best friend, I would think, how old are they? That's insane. Yeah, they're like fully functioning adults. They're like fully functioning frontal lobe developed 30s. Like I get it. You're an idiot when you're 20. We've seen that's a tale as old as time. 30s? Just call. Just call. You got to call them.
38:15You're probably with them. Then I would imagine Sierra had like some inkling of an idea. Her best friend. The thing that I wonder is like, are they all actually good friends or not? Is it just for the show? Well, that was a really interesting take I saw from Bethany Frankel. Correct. I saw this too. And she said, here's the ultimate question, which I don't think I don't have the answer for, but I think we can assume, is were they friends before the show started? Because if they only became friends on the show, what Bethany said is it ain't a real friendship. Right. No matter what, she said you got to take it down a lot of notches because it can't really count, which is a good point.

38:53And do I think it could be different for like a, oh my God, who's the tall dude? The sober one? Not Jesse, the other tall dude. The sober guy? Yeah. I don't know his name I don't remember everyone will know the sober guy they're yelling at their phones so like him and Kyle they they even if they met on the show they've now been filming for what 8, 10, 12 years yeah and so that to me is like perfect that like that I think has probably penetrated real friendship still but still still when there's an element of fame involved I do think you can't call it a full-blown real friendship. I just, I don't.
39:40I think Bethany has some really good points there. Yeah. Well, I mean, who better to talk about it from her? Yeah, I mean, she's a great person to have a take. I saw her take at dinner. So that, she was a dinner, not me. Can we talk about her for a second? Yeah. Like, do we have any takes on her? She's, because she seems awesome. I love her takes. I went to her page to see what she had to say about it. Because she, I get her once a month on my page. Mm-hmm. And it feels like it's moments like this. And it feels like when she talks, I stop scrolling and I listen. She's got great takes, but I only see a very small subset of them.
40:15I always like to see what a lot of people, I like a wide variety of takes when it comes to anything. I want to see different angles. And she's always an angle that I like to go see her take on, of course. Correct. Anybody that's willing to speak their mind and be direct and well-spoken like she is, yeah, I would like to listen to. Whether I agree or not. She kind of like pulls back the curtain on a lot of things, which I like. Well, yeah, she just feels so well experienced. That's like the read I have on her is like I actually she came onto my radar because of her vodka business. Margarita. I'm so bad with like the details of certain things of her alcohol business.
40:53And then I think it was you who told me that she was on the real rich house. Real housewives of New York. Right. Was she in New York? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which I've never watched her on. I don't know how she was on there. That's probably like a franchise Harrison can get into. Some Real Housewives. Harrison, you watching the Real Housewives would be electric. But I think what we've learned is when we're going to do one of these, it needs to happen real time. Yeah. Jules, what are we? Just how do we transition from this to like the play kitchen? I was going to say we have to move on. there is no transition other than we're moving on to the play kitchen and you insert an ad right here and we'll talk okay so that's that on the summer house take now moving in maybe Harrison will watch real housewives of some city all right we have a baby name we talked about okay I tried the where's Jessica toddler interruption that the internet was talking about which is when your toddler is starting to have a tantrum you distract them you redirect them by saying where's Jessica I've tried it twice it it worked both times last night for example we were outside watering the plants and then it was time to go inside and go to bed and she never wants to go inside and she was so sad that we were going inside the second we hit the door I was like donde esta Jessica Where is Jessica?
42:20And she was like, Jessica? Who's Jessica? She immediately stops crying. She's looking at her and she's like, and where is Jessica? She's looking at me and I'm like, where is Jessica? And we walked around looking for Jessica for like two minutes and we couldn't find her. We're going to look for her again later today when we need to. But it couldn't have worked better. When I heard this on last week's episode, I thought like absolute myth. Like there's no way that this actually works in reality. And so hearing the fact that it has worked out of the gates is I'm quite surprised by. But didn't our good friend and trusted partner, Dr.
43:05Ari Brown, comment on this and why it is successful? Yes. So Dr. Brown says this is redirection. Young toddlers 12 to 24 months often just need some redirection to change their mood. And you know what? me at the ripe age of 32 I also need sometimes redirection to change my mood so it makes a lot of sense of just like because in the moment all Bubba wants to do is keep watering those plants and she can't understand why we would possibly stop watering the plants but then you ask her where Jessica is and she's forgotten about the plant and she's looking for Jessica and it's just as simple as that and somebody messaged they say where's Rebecca right like I think you can pick the name i think definitely don't know anybody where's amanda where's amanda and you and once she gets used to where's jessica you can just change the name we'll just change the name to a new one but maybe her getting used to where's jessica is really good because she knows we're looking for something it's all going to be where's reality tv characters so anyways i don't know i i would seriously say if you're in the tantruming phase try it because you've done you have nothing to lose like just try it and really get into where is she and it i'm not kidding it worked i'm not kidding you it was the craziest thing and i tried it twice to report back that's phenomenal the other time you were cooking the burgers and she was trying to take her lawn mower up the stairs and then the burgers were ready and i was like we got to go back in and eat and she wanted to haul her lawn mower up every stair and then we started looking for jessica and then bubs was just looking for jessica she couldn't find her because she doesn't know who Jessica is.
44:37Look at that. I know. Guys, let's talk about Quinns because it's spring reset time. And here's the key to that. Fewer pieces, but better materials. I've been doing a little spring reset myself and I'm kind of doing a pre-partum, postpartum closet clean out, focusing more on quality over quantity because there's nothing better than having one shirt that you love, that one signature white t-shirt that both Harrison and I have from Quinns. And you're building a wardrobe of pieces that are well-made, versatile, and easy to reach for every day. And that's why we keep coming back to Quince. The fabrics feel elevated, the fits are thoughtful, and the pricing actually makes sense, you guys.
45:18They've got 100 % European linen, organic cotton, super soft denim, with style starting around$50. Because you know the way that Quince does it is they partner direct with the factories, they cut out the middleman, and they're able to pass on the savings to you and I without sacrificing on quality. So refresh your spring wardrobe with Quince. Go to Quince.com slash Alex for free shipping and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. Go to Quince.com slash Alex for free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com slash Alex. So turns out yet again, the internet, a win for the internet. Thank you for the tip.
45:57and another win for the internet is we had told you guys we were torn on the play kitchen because I thought the real kitchen sufficed I didn't want to confuse her because in our kitchen she can eat the bananas but in the play kitchen she can't eat the bananas I thought it would be confusing the internet said imaginary play is just as important as real play so we got the play kitchen because she had also grown out of her we had her playpen with a bunch of toys in it and I noticed that the girl stopped going in there. So it was time for something new. And so we get her the play kitchen and then we get her the blender.
46:34I'm going to link these toys that I got. Cause I think they were$35 on Amazon. There's four, there's a blender, a mixer, a toaster and a coffee maker, all of which you require batteries. And they really do like turn on. She is so mesmerized by this toy, this play kitchen. Like she cannot get enough of it. She goes over there constantly and she's blending stuff like she doesn't even realize we're still in the room so I stand corrected on the play kitchen and she's like serving us coffee it's crazy to me how quickly they catch on and she's serving us the coffee she's putting things in the microwave like she really doesn't understand it yeah I I think I'm I'm split on on the play kitchen on And on one end, I love it.
47:20I think that there has not been a toy or item that we have bought her that she has used as much alone. As this toy kitchen. As this thing for extended periods of time. And that is amazing. The only thing that like semi-rivals it was that piano. but the piano i feel like max you'd kind of get five minutes out of versus this is like when i was so we cooked breakfast this morning and historically when i had to clean that's been a really tough time of like of juggling her and cleaning and this to this morning she went right over and for 10 minutes of cleaning the kitchen she was just playing in that thing and what was so cool about it is she was doing in the kitchen what i was doing so like we we used the blender to make pancakes and she put i i was cleaning the blender in the sink she put the blender in the sink and she had all the items in the sink when i had our items in the sink really yeah oh and so i love it i i don't know why i said at the beginning i'm i'm split on it i i do love it it's a phenomenal purchase great job um it just it won't what it won't do is replace our real time in the kitchen it will supplement other times it's a win-win everyone's winning like she still cooks with you and loves it yeah and then she goes over to her play kitchen and i think she understands hers is a play kitchen but the fact that these toys turn on is unbelievable like her blender blends yeah the big confusing thing for her is that the sink doesn't make a noise yeah the sink the sink does not turn i think i want to buy a with your permission a noise like a button that you hit that makes a water sound and so that will reflect the sink being on have you seen on tiktok the people that like soup up the play kitchens like they put like a water pump in it and they make it a usable sink we may have to do that yeah jules i really i think that that might be that might be coming our way this is something that you've totally impacted me on it's like before i met you i'd be like oh yes we're doing that done but what you've taught me is like when you say you're going to do something you need you need to do it even if you're speaking in hyperbole or metaphorically so that's why my use of words they're very specific maybe we will do it maybe Yes.
50:01This mainly largely applies to when I'm pregnant. Harrison says, we're going to have steak and French fries for dinner. And he says that to me at 10 a.m. So then all day I'm ready for my steak and French fries at dinner. And then at 4 p.m. He's like, what do you want for dinner? I'm like, steak and French fries. He's like, doesn't fajitas sound good? And I'm like, no, because all day it's been steak and French fries. And mama needs steak and French fries. So we had that tonight. This dynamic is very confusing to me because I love to visualize what I'm going to have. And so I don't know why I've been doing that.
50:30And I think part of it is like, yeah, I don't know. It's very, it isn't like me. Like if you tell me we are having steak and French fries for dinner, that is Bible. We are having the steak and French fries for dinner. I just figured this out. Here's what happens. Here's what's been happening. I'm saying, do you want to do steak and French fries for dinner? You're saying we're doing steak and French fries for dinner. No, no, no. I'm saying, do you want to? And then I say yes. And you say that this is just not what's happening. You say, I have no idea what I'm going to want for dinner. And so I then.
51:06Ah. The Amber Alerts. These Amber Alerts are terrible. That's just a test. God. Like when we're sleeping and that happens, it truly. That was terrifying. It happened to us the other night and I had just fallen asleep. And it gave Harrison access to his phone. I know. Give it back. H. We're going to have to count down like a toddler. Three. Where's Jessica? H. Three. Harrison. Where's Jessica? Come on. We're in the middle. Stop. Now he's just goofing around. H. Come on. So that is our problem is you're not committing. I promise you. I promise you. You're saying, I don't know. You always say you don't know what you're going to want.
51:51I'll commit to dinner right now for tonight. Okay. Currently steak. That tenderloin last night was so good. Okay. I can fully get behind that. Okay. Tenderloin. I want... I liked those sweet potatoes. Okay. My request... Okay. Perfect. So tenderloin. Whatever you want, we're getting. Sweet potatoes. And then... And do you want the sweet potato fries or the actual sweet potatoes? I liked the actual sweet potatoes. Okay. So that was different. That was unexpected. Do you like those... That lentil rice I've been making? No. Do you know what I might want to audible to? Yeah. Burgers and sweet potato fries.
52:30Okay. Because I could do some lettuce with some ketchup and a tomato and an onion. I want lettuce wrapped burgers. Okay. With sweet potato fries. And then what's another side that could go with that? Last night we had corn, which was really, really, really good, but I don't want corn. Yeah, we've done the corn twice this week. Oh, I want a really good salad, but I don't make a good salad. So can you make a good salad? Yes. What I'm just trying to. I'll post a photo of our dinner. Get my handle on right now. Okay. It's not you. It's just. We're getting all. I guess to Travis County's testing. What I'm just trying to get a handle on right now is my burger process isn't great.
53:10Like. So last night I re-figured out how to make a steak. I used to make the best steak ever. Okay. And I would do that when I lived in LA and I would sous vide them and then I'd finish them on the cast iron. The steak was really good last night. I finally got it back. It was yummy. Okay. And it was, I went back to the roots, oil, olive oil, cast iron, into the oven to finish. I've lost my burger process. Well, let's get it back tonight. Tonight's your night. Okay. So we'll figure it out later. But that's just, I will post a photo to hold ourselves accountable that we will have burgers tonight with sweet potato fries and a yummy salad.
53:47Okay. Done? Yeah. I already know how I'm going to do them. Okay. so moving right along to we talked about okay would you like to talk about april fools even though it's behind us do you have anything you want to discuss on it no my only thing on april fools was i saw it's not even worth it it's not even worth it all right later bedtime so the bubba raider everyone said and we've learned on here if you put your kid to bed later it does not mean they will wake up later, which was true for us for the first year of her life. Now, recently, ever since what's it called? Time daylight savings, daylight savings happened.
54:27We started putting her to bed about 45 minutes to 50 minutes later. So she goes about at seven 45, seven 50. She is waking up 45 minutes later. And that having that time in the morning is glorious. and somebody commented and said parenting is just a bunch of what did the comment say I don't think you showed it to me it's it's the it's the it's the parenting is a bunch of oh the number one comment is parenting is just a bunch of readjusting what you do and seeing what works and this is an example of that like when she was younger no you couldn't put her to bed later and she would wake up later but now we can and she does wake up later and we're up anyways until nine or ten so having her up with us at night is nice and then having her sleep in is lovely so we've really found our sweet spot of sleeping i think there's a very important delineation of what's going on though okay the rhythm the circadian what's it circadian rhythm so when we had the sleep expert on several several months ago this all tied to their circadian rhythm correct and so what she was saying is if you put them to bed an hour later but it's essentially dark out then that isn't what works what has happened with the daylight savings time is she's in theory going to bed at the same time and when she's going to bed it's still loosely light out and so she's sleeping during the dark the time in which she's sleeping is what is what's changed so next daylight savings gonna kick our butt but hasn't daylight savings stopped when does it officially i think this was the last one i saw online what do you mean well the government out ruled out that daylight savings was gonna keep happening oh that didn't make it on my radar but we've been talking about this for three years i feel like yeah that it's gonna end it's gonna end one year i gotta say something different i gotta i gotta give you i think it's like what what's a call when you wish something and then you get your wish and and you care for what you wish for care what you wish for she's sleeping a little too late she i'm waking up and i catch myself in the mornings waiting for her yeah to get up yeah and like especially when i see her in bed and I'm like waiting for her to call me to come over.
56:50It's like we've lost our mornings in a lot of way because now if she's up at like 7.30, we only get 30 minutes. Today, we did an hour. Like she got up at 7.30. You kept her an hour. She didn't go see Maria. And I was like, we're delaying child. Like I want to do our classic morning together. So, okay. So tell me what would be your idea. what she wakes up every day at 7 10 is that ideal 7 7 a.m is perfect yeah because sometimes 5 30 6 30 i'm i love 6 30 totally totally but it is be careful what you wish for because then she started we were like man bubs 5 30 is like really early and then she's like boom how's 7 30 sometimes it's 7 45 we jumped from 5 30 to 7 30 we 100 did now here's the question for the audience that we have though how long do you let your kid stay in bed for because like she's awake she's in there just hanging out cooing around looking around we can see her on the nanette and we're like bubs ask for us because like she'll start she'll dad da like she when she wants us to come and get her she'll start to stand up and bounce but like she's just in there playing right now do you guys if your kids are awake and you can see they're awake do you leave them in there or do you go and get them because you want to hang out with them yeah i mean i wait until we get the data call and And often I'll have the...
58:08Monitor up. The nan monitor up. And then that data call happens the minute that she stands up. And so I'll see her often starting to stand up. And that's when I know I'll make my way up there. But I want to know if people go and get their kid before the data call. I would love to. But I feel like that's just not what you're supposed to be doing. I know. So people can tell us if you leave your kid in there or not. But I also think because she still has the pacifier when she sleeps. so she doesn't have the pacifier during the day. I do think she's in there getting a couple extra little Patsy moments.
58:40I think she's in there milking the Patsy, and that's what's happening. But I do want to know if people leave their kid in there or not. I've got to tell the funniest Patsy stories. Okay, what? Because she did it again this morning. What happened? So the past two times I've woken her up, when I take her out of bed. You haven't woken her up. The past two times you've gotten her out of the crib. Thank you very much. The past two times I've gotten her out of the crib, I pick her up and she takes her face and she turns it away from me and she hides her face with the passy hoping that I wouldn't notice that the passy is in there and we stand there and I stand there with my hand out like this and I go bubber passy please be be please be be please and she like holds so firm and then it takes about 30 seconds and then she'll finally go and then she'll go and put it in my hand and we place it down and we go bye bye but she points for creativity points for her thinking maybe you won't see that pacifier in her mouth that's the cutest thing i've ever heard it is adorable but good for you for still making her give it to you despite her very good effort to hide it it's so cute what if one day she just had it like tucked in her pants well the funny thing about this about this morning is i actually um so what happened this morning was she woke up she was like dead asleep and then she woke up and like she didn't play around within two minutes she started calling for me and i was like that was way too fast and so when i went up there i saw that the passy was on the ground oh and so i got her out of the bed and i mission impossible to her to pick up the passy she just shoved it right in and turned away yeah so um same same directionally thing would happen versus the other time i just picked her up and it was in her mouth right i was like no no no bubber no no no bubs um okay so the next thing we have to discuss on the but we'll stay on the bub topic and then we're gonna talk about the boys trip so the question is when do you stop swearing in front of your kid and the internet says you should lessen your swearing around nine months when they can start to understand what you're saying and sort of pick up on words.
1:00:55But at two, you should really pull back on the swearing because that's when they start to mimic exactly what you're saying, where Bubz is already mimicking what we're saying a lot. So how do you feel about swearing in front of your kids in general? And when do you think we should stop? And then the deeper layer is, would you ever tell somebody to not swear in front of your kid? Yeah. So what I read was that at two is when you really got to start getting serious with it and will you get serious with it i think we need to okay i think we need to i i swear but i think we've cut back on swearing in front of her already 95 yes i've cut back on my swearing in general 95 alex like spells it out now yeah i literally am like s-h-i-t i'm Like I used to just say it.
1:01:41So feeling good about that. Yeah. I use, I swear when I want to put an emphasis behind something. Like I haven't cut it and I need to cut it. I don't think you swear that much, but okay. I don't swear a lot, but I do swear. And so. There's no exclamation point quite like an F-U-C-K. Yeah. Just boom. Like I agree with that. Or, or, or let me, let me reset this. Like, this isn't something that has been top of mind for me. And I think swearing in front of your kids is just, it's a bad move. And so now that she's getting around too, I'm going to have it top of mind. So that way I don't slip up and I don't swear in front of her.
1:02:30Okay, which I think is good. But do you want to make it to where you, because people, here's the question. Out in the real world, people are going to swear in front of their kids. You're not going to be able to control how other people talk in front of her. So how do you want to approach that? I think that within our inner circle, we want to establish the expectation that we're not swearing in front of the kids. And then I think beyond that inner circle, that's the reality of life that you accept. But I think that that dynamic also will play through to how you expect them to behave and act. And that is, oh, wow, we hear these words sometimes, they exist, but these aren't words that we use in our house.
1:03:15Okay. I'm going to be curious to see what people think about this because I, as I said, have just completely cut back on it in general. And I'm like glad about that for myself. I do think there's a time and a place for a nice cuss word because it just really does drive home the sentence. But I don't want Bubber to be walking around saying these words. Yeah, I totally agree. And I've definitely noticed you cutting back. I just haven't thought about it. And now I'm going to make sure that I also lead for the front with you. But I didn't cut back because of that. There was something just in me that wanted to cut back.
1:03:50Maybe it was motherhood. I guess it's all like looped into the same thing where I just naturally saying these words didn't feel right. But it is interesting. You know, I don't know. I don't know how we'll handle it. But I think, like, for example, like, amongst with the neighbors, I think that's a very fair conversation that we can have of like, hey, we're now at that age. Let's collectively as a group, assuming you're on board, set the expectation. We're not we're not. There's no swearing around the kids. We'll try not to. I think the other thing, though, is if you say, oh, shit. And then, oh, you draw attention to it in front of them.
1:04:25Like, I didn't mean to say that. I think they'll catch on to it. I do think if it slips up, you got to keep moving. For sure. Move right past it. for sure hope they pick up on bye-bye instead like right now i'll bye-bye guys yeah bye-bye i mean we say bye-bye guys over and over and over again that's good they picked up on that totally but yeah i'll be curious to see what the audience does say about the swearing thing because again on these all all these things that we approach i'm like i don't know i don't know but i'm curious to know anyone who is a parent knows feeding decisions are not a one-time thing you make them again and again stage after stage.
1:04:59And that's why Little Spoon is so helpful for these moments. And once you use it, you're not going to be turning back anytime soon. It's one trusted place to shop meals and snacks for babies, toddlers, and big kids. And all their meals are made with real ingredients without having to rethink every choice or lower your standards at each developmental milestone. So at the Baby Stage, Little Spoon supports babies from the very first feed with baby cereal and baby blends whenever solids begin. Then at the toddler stage, they have these biteables that are cut to size because you will spend so much of your time and they're chopping up the sweet potato, chopping up whatever you made into these biteable pinchable meals when Little Spoon does it for you.
1:05:42And all baby plus toddler recipes are tested for 500 plus contaminants, including heavy metals. Then when you get to the big kids stage, appetites and opinions grow, but guess what? So does Little Spoon. Plates are heat and eat ready, and that's the best part. They've got superfoods already included in them, but when your kid is hungry, you need food right then, and with Little Spoon, you've got it. Plus, they've got snacks. Think smoothies, yoga snack pouches, and beyond, you guys. So feeding the kids does not have to be complicated. Little Spoon makes it easy with real nutritionally balanced meals and snacks designed for every stage.
1:06:18It shows up ready to go, takes the pressure off, and somehow still gets devoured, veggies and all. No artificial dyes, flavors, or sweeteners either. And you know what? If there's a boys trip and the only date that works is my birthday are you going on the boys trip the only date there's seven of you only date that works is july 1st are you going on the boys trip the that date doesn't work if it's your birthday doesn't work for all the guys good answer because what you've taught me is i actually need to start saying i do love my birthday i think that that dynamic is also very specific to the person like you care about your birthday so that day doesn't work for me i don't care about my birthday and so if roles were reversed what would you say i'm not going anywhere on your birthday i make i have a chocolate molten lava cake to make and and i would i would at that point say like alex you should go but you wouldn't even know about this boy strip because i would have already i would never even bring it to you i would have already had a message that i can't go But if I'd gotten wind of it in any way, I would really push you to go.
1:07:46And I would do something – like I'm not a big birthday guy. No, I can't have Dada running around on his birthday without Bubz and I there to celebrate. And little guy because he'll be there next year for your birthday. Like I can't have that. You got to have your cake because I've made it for you ever since I've known you. And I can't have you miss a year of your cake that's homemade. That's very nice to be but not necessary. but on my birthday one thing that you've taught me is i used to make i don't like my birthday but i actually my actions didn't match my words and like i do like my birthday i just like to feel loved on my birthday and having you around is the biggest part of that and so it it's you bring out the feminine in me and saying it's okay to say you love your birthday i do like my birthday and i love celebrating your birthday with you so i do want you there on my birthday so thank you for that i'm excited for it this year we got a good good plan which is what oh we okay good that's nice because i'll be postpartum you've kind of got a big um you've got a big mo you've got some big moments coming up deals like this don't we know the plan yeah like we talked about on the podcast last episode going orange county yeah yeah okay that's what i thought i didn't know if like that's what you meant um what you've kind of got like some big moments coming in your life do you know what they are we'll get some ice from harrison here you've got a push present you've got mother's day and then you've got my birthday and if there's one thing we've learned about alex it's what you love presents i'm my one of my love languages is gifts does he have to text for the present well one of them is already purchased oh well good for him okay point kudos to one of them i know what we're getting one of them we know what we're doing for the push present we can tell them so the push present i posted this on my story but my push present is getting my ring reset yeah which i want harrison to drive but i did send him inspo photos i want like a chunky thick classic old school gold band situation somehow with this is the diamond so the diamond i have on my hand is the diamond but he never had it set because he didn't know exactly how i wanted it set neither did i I now know it takes me a while to decide on things that I really, really, really love.
1:10:01And I've decided on what I really, really love. So he's got the inspo photos. He's going to take it over the finish line. So that's going to be the push present. Love it. And then I don't know what you're doing on the other things, but. He's got time. I've wanted to pick her up. He's got time. Yeah. Yeah. You got nothing but nothing but time. I know what you can do for my favorite clothing store in the United States of America is in Orange County. So we could go there on the on my birthday. and buy something. And that will be really fun for me. Love it. Done. That would be really, I would love that.
1:10:35The reason why I would love that is because getting gifts for you is really, really hard and it sucks to get someone a gift and then have them be disappointed by the gift. And you want to do something nice, but you want to position it for success. And so like that positions everyone for success. But that's why I said, for the push present, here. Here's three photos that I love. I want you to set the ring. For my birthday, Elise Walker. What's that place called? What's the place called? Oh, my gosh. An orange that I love in Newport. I know exactly the place. On the corner right by Nobu. And the store is called Elise Walker.
1:11:10What's the area called? Lido Village. Lido Village. Thank you. I want to go there. That's where I want to go. Perfect. Mother's Day is yours. We need to get a house. Yeah, we do. We have to find out where we're going to stay when we're there. It'll be fun to do postpartum there. Okay. so now where do we go on here we've been recording for a while when do we wrap it let's wrap it okay so that's kind of that oh Easter we are so I will tell you our Easter plans because I'm very excited about them tomorrow aka Friday because we record IRL now so this drops Thursday Friday I haven't told you this yet oh I told you lightly I know but we're going but the plans have changed we're not going to find an Easter bunny anymore we're all going to shannon's house and we're gonna do an easter egg hunt in the backyard with all the girls perfect um saturday morning we have our neighborhood easter egg hunt and we have a little girl's birthday party that lives in the neighborhood and then sunday we have brunch that we're hosting we're hosting the brunch and harrison's gonna make how many rsvps do we have 16 16 17 if you count the easter bunny okay that makes you but i didn't count us so 19 okay yeah i gotta figure out the best way to make a brunch yeah and i i really want you to lean into um the coffee cakes because bob's red mills just sent us like a pr box and in it was their coffee cake yep a coffee cake on easter i think is like the best yeah i'm gonna have to do some good organizing and planning and my request yeah is that i let you do it all is that you are out of the house during my cooking done because that'll be bubs's nap time so i will go on a walk perhaps an easter walk you muffling around the kitchen while i'm like trying to navigate i really get in harrison's way like i i somehow find a way like today he needed to open this the oven because his easter bunny pancakes were ready and like i was just standing right in front of it and i could just you were really nice but i could just tell that you were just like get out of the kitchen Yeah, if I'm cooking for 18, I'm going to need to be zoned in.
1:13:15Have you seen – And you're going to be so mad, you're going to say I'm frantic. But like to cook for 18, it is frantic. I think we need deviled eggs. Have you made deviled eggs before? No. So let's just get some suggestions as well. I was going to ask, have you ever made breakfast pizza? I feel like you would slay breakfast pizza. Talk to me. It's pizza dough with eggs, bacon, cheese. Like it's so good. The problem with making pizza at home – is that's all you can make. What about on your grill? No, but my point is like, I can't, cooking pizza takes so much effort and time and space that I can't cook anything else.
1:13:56I just love breakfast pizza. That's my idea. Yeah. I love breakfast pizza. So if we do, let's just talk through this for a second. So let's say we do breakfast pizza. I'm going to need to do, call it eight pizzas, which is manageable. what do we want to do for the sides i guess i can do bacon in i'll have to pre-cook bacon eggs that go on the pizza but what are we doing not that isn't on the pizza fruit so we'll have a big fruit salad which i can pre-cook ahead of time pre-cut coffee cake and cinnamon rolls you gotta like you have to have the coffee that's so interesting yeah but that's where it gets just like a little i'm just thinking the coffee cake bake or a quiche yeah yeah quiche egg bake yeah why not just do an egg bake and the cinnamon rolls i've been seeing the viral bunny cinnamon rolls like they're so cute egg bake cinnamon rolls for bacon but i need yeah i need to make the cinnamon rolls bunnies it needs to be easter theme yeah but the but made cinnamon rolls bunnies and make the egg bake in your bunny thing and the deviled eggs you can do like pastel colors yes Yes, I love deviled eggs.
1:15:06Deviled eggs are like my favorite Easter thing. Yeah, I'd love to not. I love to have things that I can cook at separate times. Deviled eggs you make before. That's why. That's why I like them. Okay, we will work on our Easter menu. And that's it, you guys. We don't have anything from... Oh. We can do those next week. Yeah, we can do it. These are good. These are evergreen. All right, we love you guys. Thank you for listening. Happy Easter if you celebrate and happy Passover if you celebrate. Happy whatever that you celebrate. We love you guys. This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re talking baby names (because we FINALLY landed on one for baby boy), plus a new little experiment we’ve been trying (and LOVING) at home: phone-free family time from 5:00–7:30 PM.
We also get into a new budgeting tactic we’re trying this month (after realizing our spending had gotten a little too YOLO), Tate’s Bunnies & Buddies recap (spoiler: she was not interested in the bunnies), and whether “Where’s Jessica?” is actually the toddler hack everyone says it is (+ some more paci and sleep updates, of course). Oh, and we officially walk back our original take on play kitchens.
Then the fun stuff: Harrison’s thoughts on the Summer House drama (our new Bravo correspondent hahaha), Bethenny Frankel’s takes, when you actually need to stop swearing in front of your kids, a boys trip debate, and us planning Easter brunch in real time.
LOVE YOU GUYS!
