1:00um ready um yes i am ready um i'm just texting with maria as i had to get um i rushed to get our big brisket in the oven for dinner tonight i wanted to do a low and slow cook 275 but in my franticness of the morning i'm worried i put it in at 375 so when she gets back from the parquet with the girls is she at the park yeah she's gonna they went to the park today not the library which she's gonna confirm that uh it's a 275 not 375 i will say i mismanaged time this morning that's okay that's why i'm in my workout clothes i didn't have time to uh i didn't have time to shower you know what that's a good sacrificial lamb is your outfit good job like if you something has to sacrifice i'm really happy that your outfit was what it was because i know the outfits mean a lot to you um yeah well but dinner tonight will be delicious we're having it with the neighbors obviously we're having as we call a family dinner um assuming we live on liquid death avenue we we're having we call it a liquid death dinner um and the reason i'm glad maria went to the park and not the library is because she's close to home and we're supposed to get a our our new floral sectional you guys which i will post just like an obscene amount of photos of gets delivered today.
2:25And it's my number one thing we ordered for the house that I'm most excited about because it's going to take that room from like a six to a 10, I think. Because it's going to close. That room is not a six. But no, functionality-wise. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. The best seat in the house doesn't have a chair. And it's the one that faces the kitchen. I thought that room was a nine. Decor-wise, it's great. Okay. Functionality-wise, where do you cozy up and sit? I thought that room was a nine for the last six months. She's been saying she doesn't love it. And I love that you took ownership of designing it now the way you like.
3:05Yeah, I really - But Jules, thank you for the support. Because I love that room. I love that room too. I think the floral couch is amazing. I'm sure it will be. It needs - Listen, I think the floral couch we got is not as cool of a print - Oh, the old one. as the current floral couch. But here's the thing, you guys. We also get the keys to a new office today. You've got to own it. You've been complaining about that room for months. No, no. It needs to be a sectional. It's the one room in the house that you consistently come back to. I don't like the word complain. But you consistently come back and be like, we can do better.
3:38We can do better. And I've just said, I don't know how we can do better on this room. And you took it over. So I bought into your vision. I think it's going to look great. And I'm excited for it to come. But I need everyone to wait for my vision to fully come to life because here's the thing. I've also gotten a round orchid situation that arrives on Sunday. It's fake. I hesitate to tell people that. I'm into fake orchids now. I can't keep anything alive. It's a big round bowl. Okay, so it'll always stay on the coffee table because the coffee table needs some height. Then to meet the height, we've got this beautiful, large, bronze chandelier with globes on it that's coming.
4:20Yeah. And then we need drapes. So you've got to wait on the vision. The couch isn't just it. I think a bicker of the week that we never actually had that I feel like we can now bring to the surface would have been fake flowers versus real flowers. So I don't like fake flowers. Okay, but? But what I realized was, number one, it was getting just expensive. Number two, I love, I love flowers. So do I. So I figured, okay, you can go to paragold.com and you can get some like, and my mom had a couple of these around, a couple. So the key is high-low. So like some of your flowers are fake, but they look really, really good.
5:08and it's a one-time fee. And then for years, you've got the fake flowers. So our dining room table has fake tulips on it. Everyone thinks they're real. So that's what completely got me over the edge is these tulips that you got for the kitchen table. They look so real that this week, Frank the painter was asking about the flowers. He was like, where did you guys get these flowers? He's like, they're so nice. And they have the fake water and they're fake. He's like, no way. so um yeah i'm i'm totally on board with the with the hilo a base of a couple flowers yeah sorry hilo's not the right word like it's like real fake you mix you mix so i think hilo is is kind of the right word but we'll always have fresh flowers not always but if i'm have if i'm on top of my stuff we have fresh flowers on the table in the living room and on our kitchen island and then we're going to have the fake orchid and the fake tulips and like that to me is really good.
6:06It's a mix. Do you want to talk cooking for a bit here? Let's start the podcast. Okay. Ready? I just had something else to say. Ugh. And it left my brain and it's so annoying because it keeps happening to me. Was it welcome back to two parents in a pod? You do it. Say it again. Say it again. But look at the camera. I asked your question. What was it? I'm sorry. I didn't hear you. What was it? What was the question? Ladies first. No. Go first. You already went. ladies first okay welcome back to another episode of two parents and a pod cast podcast do i always say podcast yeah i'm losing it the third trimester like it's really it has arrived it's the shortness of breath my friend courtney actually sent me this video yesterday and she was like i don't know if this is ai but it's making me feel better and it's this it's this doctor and he's like the shortness of breath it's good it means like your baby's taking your oxygen the waddle it's good it means your hips are opening up your feet swelling it's good it means your body's draining your nutrients and I was like I'm having all of these so it's very the third trimester is just like really here I gotta give you some some flowers right now some real flowers not fake flowers okay So I was working out with a friend this morning and they asked how you're doing.
7:26And I said, you're doing great. And I think part of why you're doing so great is you've really come up with a great schedule for the third trimester and how you're feeling. And it's like, I don't know if you want me to say the schedule or you want to say the schedule. Well, I got to give you the flowers back because I came to you Sunday night and I said, I'm frustrated. I don't feel like I'm making the most of my time and I don't know what to do. And you said, why don't you write out a schedule every day? So every morning, H, I don't know if you know that I've been doing this, but I get up and I get my journal out and I literally by the hour write out my schedule.
8:06I did not. And one of those hours is like sit on the bed on the heating pad with your legs up. Like that's an hour. And do you know what that's done for me? It's made me so much more productive. That was literally what I said to him. I was like, rather than fighting the tiredness, what she's done is she's like carved out time where she can be tired. And she's like ended her social calendar past 5 p.m. and so like everything she's doing is between the morning and five and within that she's finding her um like her hour to put her feet up and like that's allowed her for all the others hours that's allowed her for all the other hours of the day to just be like really dialed in and i know too like because today my nap is at one i think it's like give it all the gas until one and then I know I can recharge and then I can wake back up.
9:00But what I did see, um, I saw a post on, oh, it was my friend Katie beach. She said third trimester tired is way worse than newborn tired because she had just had her baby. Right. And so she was like, pregnancy tired is worse than this newborn tired. And one of the comments said, yeah, because with newborn tired, when you take a nap or you rest it actually recharges you but with third trimester tired when you take an it doesn't do anything for you it just helps you live to fight another hour like you don't actually wake up feeling recharged you just wake up not falling asleep in your chair interesting um i i thought about what i was going to say earlier because you you mentioned a past bicker of the week and i was talking to your mother last night on facetime she was like i gotta talk to you about Harrison not drying off in the shower I was like yeah what about it she's like his father does that she's like I don't do that but his dad does that and she's like so now at Whistler he also does it in the hot tub so she's like I've just stopped fighting it she's like pick your battles what she does is she'll line the the hot tub path to the bathroom path with towels because she just knows he's gonna walk on it wet there's also I'm not sure if you've noticed a really like big like the mat when you come in from the hot tub is massive and that's probably why yeah she was like i just gave up on that one and so now i just line everywhere with towels and i was like dying laughing i was like yeah i think in my dad and i's defense like we think we're dried off you are soaking wet definition of dried off is like we'll like we'll go in and like we'll do a pat down we just like won't get our percentage to zero it's so funny but by our definition it's zero If you don't know what we're talking about, we always do a bicker of the week.
10:49And I don't remember how many episodes ago it was, but it was dry off in the shower or pull a Harrison and just dry off around the room. That's not that's incorrect. No, it's not. 13:04Yeah. So I've heard about all these benefits of the weighted vest. I got a weighted vest and I really didn't like it. And one of the main reasons I didn't like it is you, you had to put the weight plate in and it had a Velcro at the bottom. And so twice the weight plate fell out and hit me in the toe and it like, it didn't injure me, but it hurt. And you, and so you could only walk in a very slow pace with it and also it didn't really feel that right then frank like a shield like the old time shields that they had the sword the tin shield yeah it also looked like you're wearing a bulletproof vest which is just like not the vibe and um and then frank the painter who feels like we're not talking about a lot uh he was talking to me about his weighted vest and he showed me the one he got on amazon and so i ordered it and we're 24 hours in i actually the first time I wore it was to the grocery store and I loved it 20 pounds I think Jules has one too yeah I said it's like everyone on the trail has this one and you'll you'll notice the fit is phenomenal like the weight distribution is phenomenal we should link it it's padded it it sits up a lot higher yeah it's like it's as unnoticeable as a vest can be yeah and thank goodness because what I hated like you you it's not a problem but you leave your weighted vest around the house and I always had to pick up this like thing and i was just like this i mean it was really like a problem yeah it's just this like 20 pound thing that we're always lifting and so i'm happy that it's really you know it's funny it's things like that just when you think about life through the entrepreneurial lens things like that i'm like someone needs to come in and fix it like the weighted vest you had the first time simply cannot be it yeah and someone nailed it someone nailed it um okay so i went well let's talk about like the other items that you've recently purchased okay uh here and here's what i'll say okay because we did we did touch on this a couple episodes ago i'm in full i'm in my version of nest and my version of nest is it is get things in as great of a place as they can be holistically before the baby comes and so like I am just like I feel so much pressure right now to make sure obviously like you're doing all the real work here and so I'm feeling all this pressure to make sure that everything else is just in like as great of a place as possible and so like when packages are coming just not Not even that, but like on top of the ordering, on top of like getting every room logistically right, like gates, making sure all the gates are set up, making sure that we got new handle protectors.
15:58Because I figured like Bubz right now, like there's always an eye on Bubz. And like she loves to go to that bathroom, but we need to be able to not have her go in that bathroom. so what he's referring to is he got you got their door locks door locks not she can't turn a handle yet but we have the you know push down lever door handles to get into the bathroom and things like that and like a one thing a toddler loves i think it's universal is that toilet because to them it's it's a bath they have so much that's at their height it's fascinating to them they can put their hands in it and it's a big time mess so yeah you've but the other to keep it like it's It's truly like every facet from home repair, like getting the floors done to making sure the rooms are right to having work things dialed to having mental and physical health dialed.
16:51Like I've never to making sure and most importantly, making sure you are supported in whatever way you need. Thank you. Like, yes, crazy how much responsibility I feel to like. Have things as great as they can be. Well, yesterday, Harrison had some boxes arrive. And in those boxes, yes, he did get Bubz these books that were like robotics and logistics and all these. Blockchain. Blockchain. Bubz is going to learn about blockchain tonight. But the best thing you ordered, and I couldn't believe it. So we have in the little boys' room, we have his changing table set up. And Harrison opened a changing pad.
17:31And I was like, did you order that? And he was like, yes. and I was like is it wipeable and he was like yep and I was like oh my gosh like thank you because I hadn't thought to order the changing pad yet and you measured the table you ordered the changing pad and you made sure it was wipeable and I and there's room on the right side for for little wipes and diapers I was just like I just thought for sure that was falling in my court of things to do I want to take as much responsibility off of you as possible especially How did you know I didn't order it though? I was so proud. Because I feel like what's getting you excited right now is a lot of the aesthetics of the paint and the crib.
18:14And I feel like you aren't talking about the administrative stuff. I'm not. You're right. I'm really not into that. And so I also got those changing pads. I know you did. I was like, what? He got the disposable changing pads. And then you got the door locks. things to just be great and well set up for when he arrives and you know do as much as i can once again we you are doing all the heavy lifting you are doing all the court work no but you're doing a really good job i want to do as much as i can to support but you are and like you're getting the boxes in and out of the house like you're being very helpful so thank you hopefully more than the boxes too well the other thing you're having to do now is via like you you just take full care of me all the time which I can't thank you enough for like so Harrison just so you understand our schedule and this is how it's been but he's just on full morning duty um and also on full chef duty so like yesterday I mean it had to be pan crusted halibut like it had to be and we went to the grocery store they didn't have any white flaky fish and so then Harrison was driving around and he had to make me this very specific dish which kudos to you you're following you have not done an online recipe you've used cookbooks only so a couple things i want to move this away from me this is not about me this is about like supporting you because that's what you deserve you did walnuts as the crust on the halibut or something now to to do a little segue way talking about cooking i'm all open for so we did sea bass crushed walnuts layer dijon um so or reverse so sea bass put the dijon on to the walnuts cook it 400 12 minutes um and then for the uh we put it on fennel um tomatoes and what else am i missing those green things shallots shallots they were so good fennel was fennel was what you're talking about and shallots and i loved it and then half of them we put little parmesan on to juice up the flavor two of the fishes we did two of the fishes we didn't cook the four it was so good this I was really opposed to this only cooking recipes out of a cookbook situation because I felt like it wasn't going to happen.
20:39But you're actually doing it. But here's the thing. What? I'm not. I am 80 % cookbook, 20 % me. So the cookbook was do the fennel, do the shallots, do the tomato, and then put the white fish on. Okay. And season the white fish in salt and pepper. I took that recipe. I added the Dijon and I added the crushed walnuts. I'm really into buying baby gifts for baby showers. Like I'm more excited for baby showers now after having a kid than I ever was before.
23:29Before I just went to like just to go. Okay. So what's your number one baby shower gift? Well, so last night I was looking at my friend's registry because we've got a shower coming up in a week and a half. And so I was looking at her registry and I was like, okay, cute. So I bought some, I actually your, I went against your number one recommendation and I bought a nine month old outfit because it was so cute. I had to buy it. So I, I, I, I broke that rule and I'm sad doing it, but do you know why I bought it? Can I make a suggestion? What? In your calendar, mark nine months, and then you can send a friendly text being like, Hey, when I bought clothes ahead of time, I would forget and I would love this I would love if someone had sent this reminder to me so I don't forget to wear the outfit H that is a phenomenal idea that's a phenomenal idea I used chat GBT for that idea but also somebody told us in the comments I was like did you I just didn't know you did that ahead of time I didn't know that we were talking about that No, the other thing that I did see in the comments, though, on that one is like they and I knew they had these, but they have hangers that say three months, three to six, six to nine.
24:51So they're labeled outfit hangers. I saw that, too. But like, what are you hanging all of them? Well, they also have like, you know, at the store on the sale rack, they always have medium. So, you know, all the mediums are here. You could just do that. Just a circle. It's like all the nine month clothes are here. But I would say that pretty much everything I dress her in comes out of the drawers, not out of the hanging. Everything you dress her in comes out of the drawers. That's the other thing, though. I think we could put dividers in there that said three to six months. Like we could. OK, listen, we're not this type.
25:25But I have some friends that are organized like this. I think most parents aren't like us in this. and no but some but if you're doing a first time nursery you would get this organized i think if you were like if you're a type a like you love to organize you would probably label i would never i'm just i'm type b i'm never labeling like i would forget about the labels blah blah blah so i think it's a good solve you're also needing to update the labels every six months like it's i think I think people are doing like bins and like, I think people are doing a lot. I just do. I think in a good way, in a good way, in the best way, but especially for the first kid.
26:08Yeah. I think now you guys dial that nursery in so organized, right. That I think it's, so I just think that's an option. Okay. Anyways, what I was going to do with it though, because I now feel confident to go off registry. In fact, inspired to go off registry. I think I should go off registry. Like I have a kid. I think that you should give an intentional gift that's not on the registry something you didn't think of and so I was trying to think of what are my what are the best baby gifts I could give that aren't on somebody's registry and the first one it's what I gave my best friend Sydney and I'm sure she was so confused but I bet she used it a lot and this is what you google cactus bottle washer from Amazon it's 20 bucks and it's just a separate brush and it looks cute you set it on top of your sink and that brush is just for bottle washing i never thought of it i hate cross container like you do not want to wash your bottle with the same thing you scrub the pan that had the chicken in it yeah that's a great show they're two totally different things i used to our night nurse told us about it the thing about the cactus is it's like a cute little brown thing and it has all these little components to it that look like a cactus and you just pop them out when we used it 25 times a day.
27:21So I think you buy something on the registry or a cute outfit. And it looks cute. It looks cute on the, on beside the kitchen. Yeah. So you add this to it. That's the first thing I think is great. The second thing I think is great. I forgot. And I told Julie earlier because I don't have a brain anymore. Diaper bag insert. Okay. Our neighbor gave us this for Tate's first birthday. And I'm obsessed with diaper bag inserts, right? Like I love, but I only want two diaper bag inserts. And she gave me a really cute one that was monogrammed with Tate's initials on it. But I love a monogrammed insert for the diaper bag that just gets like bottles, pacifiers, things like that.
28:01Anything monogrammed is so, so, so cute and feels very personal. And it's not going to be on their registry. And then the last item, and I think this one is really special because it's for the mom, right? and if the mom chances are the mom if she's not pumping and breastfeeding she's up in the middle of the night mom or dad they're up in the middle of the night feeding a bottle or if she is going to pump or breastfeed she's up for probably 20 or 30 minutes pumping and at the beginning every three hours and what the common denominator is everyone I talk to and myself included is what do we do we start to keep yourself awake you start to scroll on your phone and you start to hate that habit everyone I talked to is like I fell into the phone trap I was on Instagram for 30 minutes every three hours in the middle of the night I couldn't fall back asleep then your brain is turning I I even had it to where like my mental health like I was just like I am like depressed because this is just in the middle of the night I was doing that you can't fall back asleep so there's this thing called the brick and what it is is and I've talked about it before but you can tap your phone on it and it will silence your you can pick what it silences it's the most it's easy to use I for me whenever I brick my phone it turns off TikTok and Instagram I think like good thing and maybe she doesn't brick every time but just for her to have it beside her bed if she wants to hold herself accountable I think the brick is a great unique gift.
29:36And then like she reads or she listens to an audio book or I don't know, I wish I was knitting or something, but for two months in the middle of the night, I scrolled on my phone to stay awake. And like, it's funny. I just talked to a mom recently who was like, I got the brick because it helped me, um, in the middle of the night pumping and breastfeeding. And I was like, that's when I got it too. So I think that's a great gift to give a mom or some, just something. here's the other thing about it the magnetic me pajamas are actually a phenomenal idea because for mom in addition to for baby yeah i love them for baby i just bought them actually for somebody for the baby yeah but for mom when you're when you're constantly ripping your pajamas on and off to breastfeed the magnets oh my gosh that's a good one yeah you wore those all the time i still wear them and there's nothing like every morning when i go to get dressed i just sort of superman off my outfit it's like the best thing ever so um this is my question to you mr h okay what's your off-registry gift i wish i knew this was coming here let me tell you how i thought about mine because i like what you said about the outfit which is don't buy something they're not going to use right then so all three of mine were day one uses you're washing bottles you're taking out your diaper bag and you're up in the middle of the night so try to think i'll help you think of it what i what i know your number one most used item was was a carrier but that's likely on their registry okay here's what it is i know what yours is let's hear it because i was going to go in a totally different direction it's the cup holder that attaches to the stroller cup holder that attaches to the stroller is an unbelievable gift great call out if they don't have it on their registry buy that and yes for sure and then i think and that's a more functional one and that's a really good price point for one i think if you want to do a splurge and it's like one of your close friends i think one thing great thing to do is to work with um their partner and plan the mom like a little get hmm let me just think a little spa day a mom day i was gonna say like an overnight thing but logistically i don't know how that would have worked no it's a spa day it's a she gets to get a facial or a manicure pedicure like and and yeah like something like a more service oriented a day for her yeah okay bonus points if you have a masseuse that goes to the house you know and that's a bigger gift but that's like a best friend i think i'm gonna jump into that i think a masseuse i think i love that masseuse to the house i mean that that's splurge first splurge yeah and then we always know my favorite gift for new parents or just parents in general that just had a baby if you can do a home cooked meal or send some kind of food yes that's always a slam dunk situation but um okay so but so this is what i'm doing for my friend i got her an outfit on her registry and then the cactus bottle washer is my off registry practical item which i love i actually i think i want to build off that i love the strategy is one thing you wanted one thing off the registry and then a thoughtful likely lower priced item off registry a lot of cactus brush or my idea which was your idea that you gave me was the cop was the cop that goes on the stroller if they don't have the cup attachment registered that goes on the stroller i just i think you got i think we kind of got to get two one for mom and dad i just think we got to jump that to the front of the list so i got that for my friend on your guys's suggestion because she had snapchatted me which i know you guys make fun of me for using snapchat at my age but she had snapchatted me about how hard it was to drink her coffee and push her baby at the same time and snapchat it's impossible and i sent it to her on amazon the next day that was that was a really nice gift yeah and i also think if you want to take it a step further if you take because i always take my cup my coffee on the walks now if you have a coffee like this that has an exposed lid and you hit a bump the coffee's coming out of the cup every single time so if you also get a cup that goes in the cup holder that closes genius that's nice oh yeah because here's the other thing custom with the baby's name yeah i mean that's a real winner of a gift they will use it every single day but what the one we have is cup holder with phone insert right so it goes coffee cup phone every time we hit a bump my phone was doused in coffee oh so i would like to do some editing for baby number two i'll let you guys know where i land with that but my favorite thing to do postpartum was a coffee walk and i love i love moments where i can put my phone up so that's what's going on there.

Actual price depends on product and plan purchased have you not had a coffee today i had like half of an energy drink after my workout because i was so thirsty wow thirsty for water or thirsty for i was thirsty for water but i realized i wasn't gonna have time for coffee and so working out though is like healthy organic ones i don't even know how much caffeine was in it working out though is is a boost of energy but i'm getting these workout classes are so like they're the hit ones and i'm pushing myself so hard that i kind of need to peel it back a bit because i'm getting so tired after because i'm because of how hard i'm pushing myself oh that's very fair um okay but speaking of coffee we've got our new favorite coffee shop near the house and what they do every time you go in is you they say okay can i have your phone number and you give them your phone number and then they say okay so your name's Alex and then I collect points on my phone number the other day Harrison was ordering and the guy was like can I have your phone number he's like I'll just pay and I was like oh like I just kind of walked off to the water station but in my head I was thinking you you can just bypass the phone number there's friction to it they text you like They do text you all the time.
37:32I'm kind of like, don't email me. Don't text me. Stop spam calling me. I'm for less phone numbers, less emails. It never dawned on me, Harrison. I don't have to give the guy my phone number every time. Well, to me, there's a couple things on this. The reason why I don't give them my phone number is because it just takes a long time. Chances are when I give the phone number, they're not going to get it right. There's going to be a digit error. So you're not saying it once. You're typically saying it twice. There's almost always a clarification. And then the second point is like, why do you need it?
38:08Because as much as I love this coffee shop, I don't need this coffee shop texting me. I know where the coffee shop is. I know what the coffee shop's hours are. I know what the menu is. We don't need to have, my coffee shop and I, we don't need to have a texting relationship. I'm very happy with my coffee shop and I to have an IRL coffee relationship. Here's the other thing. Very, yes. So I have 157 points, I realized yesterday now at this coffee shop. There's no sign anywhere that what I get when I hit 1 ,000 points. And I'm going to ask them. I'm going to say, and I almost asked them the other day, what do I get?
38:46What am I working towards here? Do I get a free coffee when I hit 500 points? Because then I'm down. But if there's no points reward system, it'll just like apply it. Like, you know, at, I don't know, Juice Land is the one that comes to mind. Like every once in a while, I just get like$5 off. I'm just going to ask them, what am I working towards here? Because that will offset me giving you my phone number. But the other thing is they text me when my order's ready. But they also say out loud, Alex. Then I walk up there, I get my coffee. And about five minutes later, it texts me. The coffee shop's not that big.
39:20I always hear them. There's no outdoor seating. Like I know when my coffee's ready. I want to give this coffee shop as fives. It's a great shop. It's a great night. We go every day. The coffee's very good. this texting thing is just bizarre it's like we gotta stop but it's a larger issue it's not this coffee shop everybody needs your email and what i've noticed what make what makes me so mad is i order something on call it anthropology then two days later random people are emailing me that also sell furniture and it's like that's not fair i gave anthropology my email i i mean that that shouldn't be the case no that's totally a thing when i it's always the case i think we talked about it before when i signed up for wi-fi for the studio afterwards i'm getting like move like moving companies and furniture and this this and that because i signed up for new wi-fi yeah yeah that's ridiculous it's just here's the thing about the phone numbers and the emails like a lot of times when somebody's like can i have your email i just leave out a letter i'm just like sure here's a an email that's close but not really because it's so much like why do you need the info i don't want to talk to people this much about like i made my purchase i knew how to get on anthropology i knew how to find the couch i wanted i have another qualm about a text i got this morning from actually my old botox place in new york they the first line of it was can we talk and then that was the only thing I could see in my text message and I didn't know what it was and then I click into it and it's like 99 cent bow tie like whatever no this is a common tactic of these texting things so here's another issue I have I've started getting like hey Alex haven't talked to you in a while emails and they're not written in they're not written in marketing format it's just a regular typed email and it's like hey alex i haven't talked to you in a while and i'm like okay well who is this so i click on it and then they're trying to sell me something in the email and then i have to this is what gets me i have to reply back to the email unsubscribe or it's buried in the very last line please respond opt out to stop getting so i have to reply back to you and then i have to type out unsubscribe or opt out just to get off your list that I didn't sign up for the list.
41:44Yeah. To not have the unsubscribe in the email is crazy. I have to reply back, opt out. Alex will reply unsubscribe and then people will respond and be like, no, I'm a real person. So I do that all the time. I got to defend you. I do that all the time. The lawyer the other day is like, Alex, this is a real bill. I'm like, oh, sorry. I'm like looping in Jules, my bad. That is so funny. I literally respond back unsubscribe. I just want to reply back and be like, how are you emailing me that one was bad how are you emailing me that i have to reply back like i have to reply back i didn't sign up no it's not fair it's it's an it's infuriating and then you know the the the way it works in the business perspective is like they're looking at the analytics of all these emails they set out they send out it's like all right what email is driving the highest open rate what email is driving the highest click-through rate and so like they're learning by sending that text can we talk can we talk people are are opening it at a much higher rate and so like yeah here's how many spam calls i have this morning they started at 9 23 10 36 i have eight between the time that's just this morning do you want me to count yesterday oh i'll give you this screenshot p i don't even think you guys are gonna believe me i don't think you're 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40.

45:42I think one of the coolest things about like their, their continued development is like before, whenever we would leave a room, like it would always just be like a scene of of emotion and like today um when i was putting the brisket in they were going to the park and like maria got them all dressed up and uh she was just like adios and i was like adios and the girls like were so excited they said bye because like they knew they were going to the park and like it was so amazing to see them excited about an activity that they knew was coming. They knew where they were going. They were excited about where they were going.
46:30And that didn't exist 90 days ago. 90 days ago, if they were ever being separated from us, they would be really sad. And so it's really cool to see. One thing I do wonder on this, though, because there's two things at play here. number one they understand that we're parked now and they understand library and they understand that around 10 o 'clock once marie has been there they are going somewhere really fun yes but we've also started saying adios to them and i think they just know that means okay we're gonna we're gonna be apart for a second it's gonna be okay and then we're gonna reunite yeah do you think the saying goodbye has made a difference cognitively for them or no no no view on it but I like how much they're loving life right now.
47:19Like in the mornings, it's all very happy. Like when they see each, when Winnie and Tate see each other in the mornings, they now run and embrace each other, which like didn't exist 90 days ago. And then Marie and, when Marie and Peggy show up, it's like the second embracement. And so like there is a lot of, of, of positivity, which I think is really fun. And there's, there's a village and there's excitement happening in the house and it's really, it's really fun. So it's actually funny, you guys. it feels like a village Tate got Tate was on the wait list to get in this school that I had put her on when she was like three months old I even made a tick tock I was like I'm going to tour this school I loved the school I thought it was fun so I signed up to get on the wait list fast forward she got in two days ago and they were like we have a spot opened up the 2026 2027 school year for Tate and what we've just decided on this is like she's gonna stay with Maria and Peggy for now because like they're going and being around other kids every single day like they go to this library for two hours maria was like please get these pink sparkle lunch boxes so we can go and also have a picnic with the rest of it i'm like pink spark i mean say less like i if i could order them and get them here in one minute i would and like they arrived and like they take their snack boxes they go with all the other kids they have dance time they have book time they have color time like they go and do that and then Maria also has she's got all these booked in times with them and the best part about it is though like we get to see Bubber all the time when we pop in and out of the house and it's just this very special time at home and developmentally like we really feel like Maria just does such a good job with them they're also going and being around other kids like we're so happy with our setup that it's funny to think about at three months old I was like what are we going to do we obviously have to put her in some school like i was just doing what i was always told and where i got to give you your flowers is like you really challenged me on that and you were like but do you want her around the house more do you want do you want her to go have the ability to go outside or go to the park and of course they go outside one-on-one learning yeah and having one two-on-one learning two-on-one learning and we want to add another kid into the mix one day to this but like right now we're so happy with our setup and we get to be involved in it and I'm really happy that you introduced this other way of thinking to me um and so when I got that email yesterday I was just like cool we're good I like uh and where I gotta give you flowers back like I completely expected when you sent me that email that you're gonna be like hey I think that it's time for Tate to go to this school and I would have been totally open to that conversation and I'm really glad that that you're as happy with the situation and setup as I am I'm so here's why I'm so happy with our setup the village is like hours like every day at pickup you know we go at five we talk to Peggy we talk to Maria we're all learning a bit of Spanish like she shows us what the girls have learned like now I don't know how to say it in Spanish they've both learned to stick their tongues out she says like Donde has thought something where's your tongue and they go and she moved them because when she would say Donde's thought to Ojos which is where your eyes they would poke their eyes so now they flutter them she's like i had to move i had to reteach them something and so they flutter their eyes and like yesterday she sent me she's like new favorite song and it's caminando so it's walk run jump and they walk they run and they jump i mean it's a bit more sporadic for them but like we're seeing all of these things that they're doing and she's just like text i don't know i love the way it's set up and i know listen i know what a lot of daycares in schools they like it's also lovely i'm just saying this is what's working for us right now because i'm all for the daycare and the school is this turning into a gratitude episode because if so if we can keep going on this path i have something else to say sure okay because i feel like one thing i've been saying a lot over the past couple weeks is i feel very lucky okay okay uh-huh you have been saying that and i feel lucky to be in a relationship with you i feel lucky you have a lot of gratitude for things in life i feel lucky for our community for our family for um professional success and um one of the things that i was thinking about this morning is i feel i'm i'm very grateful for the guy friends that i've surrounded myself with and the reason why is like right now i feel like i'm really pushing myself but i feel like i'm pushing myself surrounded by guys that have the same value system as me and are doing an amazing job in the same areas that i care about where like i find my guy friends they're amazing partners they're amazing fathers and they're very focused on their professional careers and to have you know their the success and the effort and the focus across those those three categories amongst other things like you know having fun and having you gotta have fun yeah fun is a big pillar of your valuing family and so on and so forth like i it it's like i feel the need to level up like i feel the need to be productive at 6 a.m with bubber because like i know what neighbor t is doing across the street right i know neighbor t is being a great dad at five in the morning being a great husband at date night and kicking ass at work during the day yeah and we're And working out and seeing his family.
53:06And like, so I see what's happening. But he's also fun. He's also very fun. Yeah. And that's why we're like with dinner tonight. And I just like, it very, it's just, it's part of the push. So the first thing I'll say about you being thankful and me being thankful of where we've landed in life. And I get how fortunate we are for our situation. I don't want that to be taken for granted. No, 100%. But I saw a quote yesterday that resonated with me. And it was, there's going to be a time in life where you're forced to choose between the life you want and the life you know. And it's very important that you choose the life you want.
53:43And I think we both did that. And I think it was hard. It's hard at times to choose the life you want versus the life maybe you grow up with or the life you know or the life that's taught to you or ingrained in you. But to say like, no, I want to just go ahead and build the life that I want instead. which I think you and I are living a testament to that right the way that we the way we parent the way we design our work days all of that so that's the first thing I'll say on it the second thing I'll say is I always knew who you surrounded yourself with mattered but I'm seeing it more and it just happens timeline wise in my 30s and living in Austin but being around people that push you is contagious.
54:30And sometimes it's hard to say this person doesn't serve me as much. Cause when I'm with them, we just kind of talk about people. But when I'm with these other people, we talk about ideas. We talk about things happening in the world. We talk about parenting. We talk about like what we want to do at work. And like those kinds of conversations age, they really do drive you. It's why, it's why I like being around you. You'll oftentimes just be like you'll just be like how are you feeling in terms of work or how are you feeling as a mother and I'll just be like I what on earth and like I'll sit there and I'll have to answer it and it's like those things are really good for you so everything you're saying really resonates with me and I hope with the listener too they probably see when they're around certain people they feel more pushed as opposed to others yeah totally like I haven't told you this yet but but the guy that I sauntered with last night.
55:23And that is, once Harrison puts Bubber to bed, he has this guy that about once a month, and maybe once a quarter. Yeah, he's kind of a private, we're probably on once a month. But you go to his house, and you guys sauntered together, and you love it. And super successful dude, but beyond the success, and beyond him being in phenomenal shape, he's an ultimate family man. And I went there last night, and his wife is gone, for four days and he's taking care of all three kids by himself there's no help and it's like that's what i love to see like he's up he's taking them to school he's kicking ass during the day with his with his company and then he's being a great dad at night and putting putting them to bed um so i think i'll go over there this weekend because um i think on sunday night because he used the kids to himself and i haven't haven't seen the kids in a little bit because i'm typically there after they fall asleep but like i don't know like i i was sitting there i was just like i and it just it motivated me to know like you can check every box yeah this dude is checking every box But this is what it is, too, is it's like you can, you just have to pick two.
56:44You just have to choose checking every box. Yeah. It's just like a choice, right? And sometimes easier said than done. But like in this instance, yeah, I think that's a great example. And then at the end of the night, you still got time to sauna with you. Takes focus and sacrifice and work. And yeah, I haven't felt this inspired and this motivated in a very, very long time. But I do want to also. Like truly in probably two years. Yeah, and I'm very proud of you. And I'm trying to tell you that a lot because I do think like acknowledging. But I also saw Margot Robbie and Jacob Alordi is his name.
57:20Jacob was like. Hard pivot. What? Hard pivot. No, no, no. He was talking about how Margot does it all. She's producing a movie. She's in a movie and she's raising a kid and she's always able to like make dinner. It was something like that. And one of the comments was, yeah, but let's acknowledge she has full time help, possibly has a chef. and I liked that angle too like I do want to make sure we acknowledge like we have Maria we have help and we're able to do this privilege 100 % but I liked that somebody in the comments called this out because I read that and I was like how is she doing all that and then it's like don't forget but some people also just are dialed in from 6 till 10 100 both are true at the same time all are true but I love looking at all facets like all of these all of these options are true some people do it all some people have help like there's all different versions of it and in her case she's going to work and somebody's you know got her kid I think it's like all of these all of these different versions are really cool and all need to be acknowledged we all have those moments as parents you're exhausted you're up at 3 a.m changing a diaper then maybe you need to pump or the baby's hungry baby's wiggling and squirming in the dark and you just want to go back to bed as soon as possible.

59:50because one thing Harrison and I have been talking about, Harrison's been looking into, is like the benefits of having a dog around the house. I grew up with dogs. We both love dogs. Like we just don't have, number one, we moved to Austin from New York so we didn't have a dog. Number two, we don't have the fence set up yet done around our house. So we're not in dog shape yet, but it's gotten on our radar. And what are you interested in? So I never seriously thought about us getting a dog, but a light switch went off the other week. Yeah. And it just something felt right about bringing a dog into the village.
1:00:34Well, here's the thing. And, you know, was it these studies that, you know, crossed my Twitter talking about the positive effect on kids with dogs and the effects on longevity in dogs? Like, yes and no. but it was just like you know what like i really feel like with this like with the life that we're living with the community we're building with the love in the house like a dog would fit right in why are you laughing jules no i want you guys to get a dog here's here's like i'm ready for a dog now 12 months ago i wasn't ready for a dog i agree with you here's my other thing though okay here's where we want to lean on the listener i can list you every childhood dog i had the name and the breed yeah and i loved them all so there is some connection clearly between kids and dogs like i remember the one to read the studies and and before jules reads these studies wait sorry sorry can you just read them though because i put them in there yes it won't be good if i read them okay and i'm gonna read these studies because jules put them in here but before we do that here's our question from the listener you guys when do we get the dog like we're we have tate who's 16 months old we're pregnant with this one who's due in april and then we want more kids like do you wait till everyone's born do you introduce a dog in the mix like i've seen the videos online of the dogs that come over to the babe to the pregnant belly and they like know the mom is pregnant and they're amazing videos they're really sweet i just don't i have no idea when you introduce the dog so that's what I want to ask people yeah part of part of me is like does it make sense to just do it when your last kid is one years old or like should we just plan it around our new baby coming and do it like six months after they arrive so that way we're like kind of back getting back on the swinging things with a little pot I'd also love the moment where like Like, Bubz doesn't want a dog right now, right?
1:02:38Like, she's not saying, like, I want a woof-woof. But there is, like, a cool moment. Like, I remember I really wanted a dog, and I got one for Christmas. Like, I opened up the box, and, like, I could not believe that I got a dog. And, like, that moment would be cool for her. And I feel like that happens at three. like i feel like three is the age where they can start to um like it could really matter to them yeah another thing the listener i have a question was it your dog or family dog so that it was funny like and we're about to read this this pepper was then my name pepper pepper was then my dog who like I took out right and so the number one thing of the benefits of kids with dogs teaches responsibility age-appropriate tasks feeding walking and grooming teach kids about commitment and caring for others so I had pepper who I fed and who I would walk and then incredible companionship dogs combat loneliness offering constant companionship acting as a non-judgmental friend i think dogs do that for both adults and kids yeah like there's no question just having your little dog that like kids love dogs around like there's just no question about it um develops emotional intelligence they kids learn to read body language and understand the needs of others um and they foster empathy and then this one's crazy i've seen this a lot strengthen immune system because early exposure to dogs they off put something this says this says can lower the risk of certain illnesses but they have something that they're constantly off-putting which like builds immunity with kids and i think parents no i i i i feel ready whether that happens now or in three years who knows but like and i think the way i think it's going to shake out is i think that like one day we're just going to come home with the dog probably knowing us do you want to know when the internet says the best time to get a dog is yes of course jules it says when the youngest child is at least five to seven years old oh that's a lot older than i don't think i want to wait that long but i want to know what people say oh i'd love to i also i want to see our like them little ones like playing with the little pupper but here's the other thing like if your dog's not potty trained and and you just have a newborn baby like there is a that is adding chaos to the chaos I wonder you know how often you have to take out a dog when you first get it how often every 20 minutes like so we're gonna be up breastfeeding and taking out the dog I mean for how long um just for like the first couple I don't know I don't remember I like blacked out that time in my life because I lived in an apartment building so I literally would have to go up and down the elevator and you didn't do a pee pad no I I tried this like spot of grass there's a whole thing but Like it's, that's a lot for a studio apartment, a pee pad.
1:05:47Ginny's high maintenance. No. Not anymore. But you don't, here's the thing too. Ginny's a city dog. Ginny is a city dog. No, but does Ginny like Austin? Ginny loves Austin. Austin's a city. That's true. That's true. I live in an apartment here. That's true. I do. I don't know. The dog thing like. Ginny's got high end taste. Ginny's just a really good girl. But we'll have to, we'll have to figure it out. We also have to figure out what kind of dog. I would also love people to comment if they have a certain type of dog that does really well with kids do let us know that but what's your favorite dog like what would be your number one choice for a dog well my my favorite dog unrelated to if they are good with kids or not i don't know i love greyhounds okay interesting i had a mini greyhound named tinker see and she was running one day she was so little she was she and you know greyhounds are racing dogs they're so fast she was running and she couldn't stop and she slammed into the wall and She had to get three pink casts.
1:06:42That is so sad. It was so, Harrison, it was so sad. I'll never forget it. I was probably seven. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, so sad. My parents were like, oh. I was like, oh, she was running. I mean, these greyhounds are so fast. So fast. We had a border collie. We had a boxer. Boxers are fun dogs. They were Hallie Boo, born on Halloween. So fun. Oh, Hallie was probably the sweetest dog we ever had. So your number one pick is a greyhound? No, not for kids. It's just I love that dog. I think they're beautiful. I love the way they run. But then a lot of people are going to say they're not house dogs. Tinker loved her life.
1:07:23Bernice Mountain Dog. Love that. Golden Doodle. Is a Bernice Mountain Dog good for Austin, though? When they get too hot? We need to find out. We have so much research to do. People will tell us. I also like Vichlas, but they're a little small for my liking. I like big dogs. They get big. Yeah. Eileen has a vichla. A big vichla. But you'd have to run it. I don't think vichla would be good for Austin. I'd love to run it. It's so hot though. Harrison. With my weighted vest, Jules. No, I got to push back. He also wants to get a running stroller. And I said, get the running stroller when you've gone on a run.
1:07:58Just one run. Then do all these things. You got Bubba on a bike seat. You love to put the car. He ordered? No, I could not believe it when it came out of the box. I said, what is that? He said, it's a seat for Bubba on my bike. I said, Harrison, you haven't biked since you lived in Venice. Venice Beach, California. Yeah, but I want to start doing some of the hobbies that I used to like to do. I used to love biking. I know, but there's - I bought you a bike for Christmas one year. Yes, you did, and you called it from Hanukkah Harry, and I loved it. There's two types of consumers, though. One that buys it before they start doing it.
1:08:28The other that starts doing it so much that they then need to buy it. I want to be prepared. Preparation is key. Yeah. Yeah. I love your consumer habits. I think they're funny. We've got time for one more. Do we do bicker of the week or do we things we DM'd each other? Let's do one of each. Okay. The bicker of the week, and this one's from me, is it okay to talk to your partner once they fall asleep? This is a total misunderstanding. I have restless leg because of the pregnancy. Falling asleep for me takes anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour and a half. Sometimes I got to pile up on the pillows to get the weight on there.
1:09:05and the other night I had just fallen in to the most peaceful sleep ever my legs had calmed down I was like warm conked out under the blankets Harrison puts his hand over taps me says hey do you want to cuddle I was like okay number one you're lucky you asked me something nice because that's really cute number two I had just fallen asleep just fallen asleep then by me responding out loud like that apparently I will carison up so I think there's a massive there's massive confusion miscommunication here I think I was sleeping having a dream and in that dream I wanted to cuddle so let me ask you this and so I think that it was like uh like can we please cuddle but like because when you woke me up I was like whoa whoa whoa like what's going on and you're like you woke me up like you woke me up so I I stand by like you're not allowed to wake your partner up but i that was an unintentional wake up especially when they're pregnant okay i'm sorry to do this yeah but i do need to ask you did you ask me monday night did did you wake me up and report that you were buying workout clothes you were awake i was not awake how do you know if someone's awake because like the lights were on the lights weren't on let me just ask i think you got just got back from the bathroom or something i would never wake wake you up like i know how precious your sleep is let me just isn't fair okay okay that's what i want to ask you that's just what i want to ask you and i love that response but i think it's cute that you want to tell me these things like you were so excited that you ordered some workout sets you were like hey i got some workout sets and i was like i'm so proud of you i'm asleep so this is my question i feel like this this almost could be i feel like you do this to me because i fall asleep in under five minutes like i and i feel like you're always talking to me when i'm asleep i'm actually confused by this whole segment okay that's good so i think that here's what i think the answer is i think we both in theory think you can't wake your partner up when they're asleep i think we both do it yeah i think if i'm on my laptop i'm like i'm gonna order this set and maybe i don't realize you're asleep like i but i i feel like i pay pretty close attention to that but maybe not close enough so maybe our bicker of the week we're both on the same page but we're both not very good at miscommunications but we're both bad at waking the other one up because how do you know this is my least favorite thing somebody does are you asleep well i was but now i'm not i have something that i i'm gonna i'm gonna commit to okay i'm gonna put my toothbrush and toothpaste in uh and deodorant and hair pills in the guest bedroom oh so you and bubber don't come in because i've i have noticed that like there's this like because basically i the way the morning routine goes is I go, I get her, I bring her downstairs and we eat.
1:11:53We kind of spend a bit of the morning together. And then I go back up, brush my teeth, deodorant, hair pills into the coffee shop. But when I do that, I'm going into the room and I try to like be so quiet. And I got to give Bubba credit. Bubba knows when we go into that room to be quiet. Like I can't believe it. But I really just like calling myself on. I should just be doing that in the guest room. okay I mean that's that's a love that's really nice of you to do I would never ask you to do that but I would appreciate it if you did it it's just it's easy it's a no-brainer yeah okay thank you very much okay we're gonna do things we dm'd but here's the thing Jules and I are gonna do it because the couch has arrived to the house only problem you can see Harrison on YouTube he's exiting give me that's nice kisses okay face those here's the couch has arrived but the only problem is I don't know if anybody's ever bought a left arm facing or right arm facing sectional every website even if you google it even from my days back in jennifer welch interior designs the the left arm facing is when you're facing the couch the left arm faces you right arm faces you and then i googled it i put it in chat gbt everyone agreed with me only problem is on the anthropology website it was backwards i did call they did they did not have any answers so we just went with what the standard is which is right arm facing sectional which is what we need but Maria just FaceTimed us and it looks like we have a left arm facing sofa so oh god anyways Harrison's gonna go home and debunk that whole thing with them and Jules and I are gonna talk about celebrating other kids wins I have a lot to say on this you do topic totally is that sarcasm no I like to celebrate Tate's wins okay thank you for that yeah build your village so basically I'll explain to you the video I saw okay so there was this mom and she was like every day at drop-off I see this other mom I don't know her we'll call her Susie I don't know Susie she's like I don't even know her name but for the sake of me storytelling I'm gonna name her Susie the mom making the video her son has delayed speech and so developmentally like he can't talk so much and it takes him a while to process what people say to him so she says every day at drop-off Susie comes over to her son and says hi and this mom's like I don't talk for my son I don't try to make situations more comfortable I just let him do his thing because I always notice when he's ready to talk he will and she's like kind of appeared that Susie knew that maybe I don't know but every day she made it her mission to come over and say hi and the mom and her never really talked well today I don't know how long it had been maybe six seven months Susie came over to her son and was like hi sweetie how are you and he finally was like hi and like responded to her and Susie was so excited and she was just like I hope you have the best day and she was like really clapping for his win and the mom was like that's building your village like I don't even know this woman but she she took it upon herself to clap for my son and it was something that it took her five minutes each day and it was something she did every day but i think in a world where sometimes with kids it becomes competitive this story made me really happy because it was celebratory of other kids wins i love it something and so here here's where i would i would take this is what's really cool about sorry here's where I would take this what's really cool about Winnie and Tate is like the other day Winnie was looked like she was like playing real life soccer she was like moving the ball around and dribbling it and I was like that's so exciting to see right and it's like I feel like Winnie's in my village and like I have a vested interest in her and I think it's so cool whenever parents get to do that with other kids and they get to clap for other kids wins as opposed to being like competitive with them i think what we were or what i was thinking while you were talking about that is what the level of excitement you must have like i think that's so cool and i love both winnie and tate as well and i think the soccer kick is cool but the level of elevated celebration of wins you must have once you have your own kid for other people's Kids yes 100 % that's a really good Point like what used to happen if one of My friends was so we have a basketball Goal now at the house and they were Playing basketball today and they both Know how to put the ball in the hoop it's Actually pretty cool if if one of my Friends before I had kids was like my Daughter put the basketball in the Basketball hoop I'd be like cool like I Truly don't care now if somebody told Me that their kid was playing I would be Like or they said their first words or Like we have a friend's kid who now walks like I'm so excited they're now walking beforehand you're right Jules yeah I just I would have never it wouldn't even registered with me but I do think it's cool it's cool right I and I think this story is cool because she doesn't know this mom that well this mom was just like like truly celebrating another kid yeah and was so excited and that excitement made clearly made this mom's day because she made a video about it and so I thought it was really sweet um and this said this as a choir reminder that real community is the people around you noticing rooting for and celebrating your child's wins alongside you which i think is is true and it just i just want to say this if you're on youtube and you see me looking over here it's because sits over here and harrison's no longer on this side of me so i'm a bit like um i don't know what the word is but that is it you guys ladies and gentlemen we we're gonna go deal with our couch situation.
