Yep. okay welcome back to another episode of two parents in a podcast priscilla just read me a comment that said my stylist was doing a good job and i don't have a stylist but i do have priscilla who told me that i need to wear spring colors so i took that to heart and i went and bought some spring colors um and i've been wearing them and i guess it's working and i'm thrilled look great do you know what do you know what like color palettes are for girls yeah you've seen people do the color test where they hold up a bunch of different colors you should go to the girl in dallas we have them here i know but the i follow the girl in dallas religiously it's like asmr to me oh and like you see what people are yeah and she just does it so calmly it's pretty cool your what's Harrison probably like um darker colors like a maroon maybe a fall a fall not not the wind not winter I'm just very fall I'm wearing yeah no it's not that you don't brown shorts it's based on like your hair color your eye color your blah blah blah your skin tone I feel I feel judged well in a good way judging can be good though i think sometimes i'm kidding um well you guys there was something else i was gonna say oh how about this somebody in our office had set the thermostat to 72 degrees which i think is just like an absurd temperature for an office but our little box locks but it turns out it wasn't actually locked and so we turned it to 69 and now it's stuck there and it's locked because no temperature should ever be allegedly at 72 allegedly we did that allegedly we did that no i i would be proud to like if other let's say other people in this office listened i would think they would they would stop by and say thank you i would think they would be like yes for you thank you for turning it down perfect not i really wish you kept it at 72 but everyone's gonna have to start bringing a sweater to the office.

3:33Okay. So do you have anything you'd like to say? Welcome. Welcome. Thank you for listening. Do you want to ask them to please subscribe? Oh, yes, it is. Valentine's Day just happened. And if you didn't get a Alex, a Valentine's Day gift, please do so by liking and subscribing. What about you? What about your Valentine's Day gift? My Valentine's Day gift is a gift is any, any. a gift for me is a gift for you yes thank you did she did you say welcome yeah yeah when she started i started there's no preamble today i missed it that's the word we're using preamble pre-ramble so you didn't go to workout this morning do you want to explain to the class why that is uh because i i'm now 12 o 'clock workouts tuesday through friday oh so every day now i was talking about this yesterday i think harrison's doing something very very smart which is he has realized he's most productive in the mornings.

4:29So instead of getting up and going and working out and then being productive, he just starts his day, just gets that laptop. He gets right on it. And then at noon he goes and works out and then it gives you a little energy boost for the rest of the day. Yeah. I mean, if you, if you have a work setting that enables or that allows a 12 o 'clock workout is truly, um, it is truly a game changer for me. Uh, I can't believe you're doing it and you're loving it you know i feel like we haven't talked a lot about ai lately okay i had a morning of emails yeah okay and i know if it i'm sure it's on most people's radars if it is not chat gbt for emails it is truly a game changer like i did a full day's worth of emails before 9 30 so it's really high it's really being a time saver for you yeah when used correctly When used correctly, need to proof it all.

5:26And they still do absolutely short circuit. But I called Alex Hatch. I cannot believe that like this list of 12 things I could get all done this morning. Well, I almost used it to write my – did we say on here that we had the wrong couch delivered again? Can we have the apology? Yes. We did. I don't know if we said it. I don't know if we did. I don't think we did. I think we said it on the Insta story. Oh. So what happened is we had anthropology has delivered us yet again, the wrong couch. And this time instead of calling, cause I spent a lot of time on the phone with their customer service. I've decided to put it in writing, but I wrote the email myself.

6:05Although I wanted to use chat. Perfect example for chat. Yeah. It would be great. It would have been great. The thing, here's the other thing that happened this morning. The Bubberator got up at, at four 30 and she was just ready to start her day. and we we weren't quite ready to start our day so but did you hear what i was singing her um twinkle twinkle little star and she loved it it would calm her down so now but i'll tell you what i had to twink like i don't have the i had to stop for a lot of breaths could you hear me you did a phenomenal job i couldn't get through a whole sentence anyways bubs was bubs got up a little early this morning so i did it i did an hour and then harrison did the rest because i wanted to do an hour because i just feel like you're no don't feel you i'm happy to to do it all it's the least i can do it's not fair though when it's 4 30 i mean it is completely out of our control so thank you very much for taking an hour duty today but i am happy to do it anytime so i thought that I I okay it's my pleasure it's Chick-fil-a my pleasure it's my pleasure do you think it is their pleasure we don't eat a lot of Chick-fil-a in our house we eat basically no Chick-fil-a in our house we had Chick-fil-a once when we got here and we hosted a pregame for UT Georgia well the nugget the nugget platters are the best thing for game day they're they're the best I thought about I was surprised we didn't do it for the Super Bowl well they make me sick when I'm pregnant.

7:40And they recently switched their oil. Is anybody else onto this? They used to have no peanut oil. Now there's peanuts in the oil. I saw some kids with allergies. I saw this kind of hit my feet a little bit. So they did an oil swap and it's not as good for you anymore. But I think peanut oil is actually better oil than the oil they would have been using. I feel like that's actually an upgrade. No, I think they did a downgrade. I noticed their food tastes different. I have no clue. But P and I, when we were talking about showering at the gym, we were just doing a little research for captioning on social.

8:16And Equinox, they changed from the Kiehl's products to a new product, I forget what. And it has peanuts in it. And now all of the peanut allergy people, like, they're kind of screwed at Equinox. Okay. We think it's pretty messed up. This to me is I want to go to our friend chat here. How many people in America have peanut allergies? I would love to know this. A lot. Well, that's why I'm curious. What is our number? One second, please. It's probably one of the higher allergies. What do you think? Are you using 5.2? Yes, I certainly am. Okay, perfect. That is something. Often the models are not updated to the most up-to-date model.

9:01So what would your guess be? Is this a percent or a people? A percent. I will say half a percent. 2.9. That's a lot. Yeah. What's the number one allergy among them? Yeah, I'm just thinking. So like if you're saying that at an equinox, three in 100 people, I would assume that the highest allergy that has potential for harm is probably going to be peanuts because like I'm sure gluten is higher, but gluten doesn't inflict real harm. Dairy. Dairy is the number one. Yeah. The lot of people out there, we can't process. Right. We're mammals and we can't process dairy. Very different experience. We went into anaphylactic shock with milk.

9:49Well, unless you're celiac, gluten can really hurt you. Yeah. But does anyone go into anaphylaxis over dairy? I think you've got to ask. I don't, yeah. Ask the chatterator back. I would assume not. I feel like it's a different profile of allergy. And so is everything chat's responding right now 100 % true? No, that's the problem. That is a problem. Let's say everything needs to be proofread. People can go into anaphylaxis from dairy. That's crazy. But anyways, I think - From dairy? What about from gluten? Yeah, from gluten. For sure. For gluten, for sure. Really? Yeah, yeah. Okay, well, I retract.

10:21I just think it's wild to do the nuts in the soap at Equinox. Well, I think it's, to me, it was, I wanted to know, like, what percentage of their clientele is allergic to this? And at 3%, I agree, that's a crazy move. It's crazy. But my gut is the person that made the switch at Equinox didn't think about this and now is really thinking about it. I would totally agree. I think they were like, let's make the switch. Maybe they saved some money. Maybe they did a new brand deal with somebody. And then they're like, oh, my God, there's peanuts. Peanut or Trina, I guess I got a, I don't remember off the top of my head.

10:54But they probably had no idea. And you just wouldn't think, you'd never think that there'd be peanuts in a shampoo. I know. Like as a business, I think that they're probably like, oh no. And they'll probably switch back. My studio uses Mullen and goats. Oh. I like it. And you do like it? Yeah. And do you use my shampoo? At home? Uh-huh. I use Bondi Boost. And I'll tell you, I really enjoyed it. And I never looked at what I was using. I like the bottles. I like the smell. And then I looked at the brand the other day and I saw his Bondi Boost. I was like, oh my goodness. Like you've worked with them in the past.

11:32Yeah, it smells really good. I got very excited about that. And you know what it's good for? Hair growth. Hair growth.

11:40I'm like a natural fan of Bondi Boost. So yes, I do use yours. I thought so because I threw yours out. Yeah. What was yours? Ooh, didn't love mine. It was Huron. Okay. yeah and those little yeah i found that i get a lot like uh is bondage good for skin sensitivity it's natural okay because i feel like that here on one i was i would get the bumps on my face a lot what would a two-in-one um shampoo be or like an all-in-one shampoo body wash be a deal breaker for me yeah if he used it yeah no i'd love it i'd love it i would understand i don't want it i do not want an all-in-one that feels like that feels like a new business opportunity for for men oh i think they've made that it exists they've got a thousand you let me go okay yeah i feel like the connotation of these two and ones and three and ones is like they're terrible and so like give me a nice clean two or one or three or one but i here's the thing i gotta i gotta push back on this clean thing if you're so this is why i'm for a three and one for a guy because your hair is not colored but like p and i we cannot use a three in one the color will strip out of our hair i just feel like when i think about the traditional three ones they're like full of just like crazy toxic chemicals sometimes you need you well guess what hair dye is chemicals but i don't want chemicals on my hair i want just clean natural stuff no i agree with that i think like you could wash your hair with like a like a body of a bar of soap theoretically yeah i just want natural simple Simple, natural.

13:12But we need chemical on top. I think like you have to fight fire with fire. Not a business idea. Let me re-ask the listener any good ones that they would recommend. Well, here's another business idea. Dumb business idea of the week. But I sent it just so we're clear. Here is Harrison's news segment. Best worst idea of the week. Thank you. Best worst idea of the week. And here's the thing. Anything that starts out with this usually gets my attention. Okay, I'm stoned. Like I'll just, I'll read it. You've got me listening. okay I'm stoned but this seems like a good idea what if there was an app that both you and your partner have where you both swipe right or left on movies that are streaming on services and you find a match and it lets you know yeah I was gonna say I actually think that that exists no way but here's what I'd need I needed to take it to the next level where it would connect to like your Netflix and your prime and your peacock and that way when you log on it's like for your suggested it it's like suggested for the two of you no it's just matches yeah so it's just guaranteed matches yeah it happened it exists sorry what's it called matched matched i mean that's a good name here's the thing instead of scrolling i would love to just be able to click on an app and watch like five movie previews and be like yeah i'd watch that i'd watch that and swipe right or left on them and i'd love to know our matches wow so the best worst idea of the week exists but they're not doing a good enough job promoing it i've never heard of that i've only like heard of it on the internet yeah i would like to use that let's try it we'll try it let's let's try it a little tick tock starting something new isn't just hard it's terrifying you guys so much work goes into the thing that you're not entirely sure will work out and it can be hard to make that leap of faith especially if you're an entrepreneur when i started in podcasting your content or any kind of business that I've ever done, at first you think, I'm not sure I know what I'm doing.

And I think it's one thing that's like sneaky that you don't really think about, which is your teeth when you're pregnant. I don't know what happens.

16:24I don't know if it's like lack of, I don't know, but my teeth are so much more sensitive. And then the other day I was eating a gummy and one of my caps just popped right off, which happened when I was pregnant with Tate. And now it's happening this time. And I posted it and people DMed me and I had so many DMs of people being like, I had so many dental issues. And when I went to the dentist, she was like, we see pregnant people all the time and they can't numb you when you're pregnant. So this girl said, I had a piece of tooth or bone, not sure which one, pushed through my gums in my third trimester and I could barely chew on that side of my mouth.

17:00The dentist and the oral surgeon both thought I was making it up until it finally came out and I took a picture of it. Ow. These changes, I mean, terrible. Intuitively, they like make sense that if your body is undergoing such tremendous change that it's going to affect you in a variety of ways like a la mouth structure well you bruise easier too and your gums bleed more yeah but i get it like you are growing thing you are growing a human and as such like i it just naturally makes sense that it's something with like an influx of hormones too i think it would affect your teeth there's also like a change in lifestyle factors is what i'm seeing online like you're probably eating different foods like for cravings and it says like for throwing up causes a lot of teeth issues as well well and i you know what i noticed about me because i started i felt this cap getting loose and i realized i was chewing an insane amount of gum on this side and i would nap with gum in my mouth because the taste in my mouth was so bad that I would take a nap with gum right there.

18:09So I thought I got a cavity, but in fact, I guess my cap was just loosed. Second one. Okay. I'm so glad it's not just me. My teeth were chipping and my gums would randomly bleed. So many weird symptoms out there. And then this one, I'm 32 weeks pregnant and had to have an emergency removal of a tooth implant a few weeks ago. Somebody else told me that her middle tooth or her front tooth just chipped in half. so she had to get a full new tooth yeah i'm not i'm i'm not i'm not surprised um i also we're gonna so this is the q a episode which we haven't said yet which is so weird of us but we're gonna do the q a but before that h i want to ask you because i think that our mommy daughter dance class has set a record of most dads attended because there's four kids in the class and we've now had three out of the four dads come to dance class um and you've been twice and so what's your take on on mommy daughter dance dad edition um what do you mean what's my take well do you get like so it's one of the highlights of my week i get so excited to do it with her and i get really proud of her do you have those feelings yeah i love it i love seeing her in new environments and new environments that challenge her, where she's interacting with other kids, where she's learning.

19:29Like, I think it's where she's having fun. I think it's great. The dad thing is phenomenal. Like, it was almost to the point that, like, when the fourth mom walked in without the dad there, I was like, oh, like, I wonder, I, like, kind of assumed he was parking. um so love the dual parenting turnout the dad involvement and um that's an that's an our generation thing though i think like dads want to be more involved to the tune that in our mommy daughter dance class we have more than 50 of dads come like that's crazy i think i think it's and i think it's a couple things number one i think people have more flexible work schedules now I think COVID caused that more people work from home.

20:21Like, I just think people are able to do that and they want to do it. And then let me ask you this. If you were like, I'm not coming to dad, to mommy daughter class. Okay. Let's say you had that mentality. Yeah. Which you don't. Cause you're like, I want to go, but let's pretend for a second, put yourself in the shoes of somebody that's like, okay, I don't want to go. Cause that's mommy and daughter's thing. And then I came home and I was like, Hey, there was two dads there. Would that entice you to come or you wouldn't care? Well, you don't want to go where you're not welcome, right? And so regardless of the activity, like if you're doing a girls Mahjong thing and I'm not invited, like I'm not invited.

21:05But I asked the first time because I remember... But the first time you said it was moms and daughters. Yes, and then I asked her while I was there. I think we have that on record. But I asked her while I was there because I truly got winded during the class. I think that there's this, what's the saying? And I think it's implied more so to dating. Like if he wanted to, he would. Yes. I think that that's very applicable to going to dance class, to mommy, daughter, dance class. Like if you want to, you would. You can. You can always, like generally speaking, it's at 5.15. and so carving out a window is is possible like you can you know i think most people can carve out time from 5 15 to 6 to um to spend time with their kids but i'm looking at a music class which is at 10 30 a.m on fridays very different i know you are not attending well and And if that was the only time to attend and it was a marquee event, then I would, you know, I'm also in a fortunate position where I have a lot of control on my calendar that I, if that needed to be prioritized, it could.

22:18I'm just saying this thing, like this is at 5.15, like most work days, regardless of your industry, end at 5.15. Well, and then, but I mean, you have to account for like if work ends at five, then you, and you're 30 minutes away, like you can't make it. Maybe you can make the end. But one of the dads came late. one of the dads did come late he did come late I don't think you need to be there the you know both parents can trade on and off which obviously we do but let me but okay but if you heard other dads were going would that entice you to go more or no

22:55for sure I just want to figure out why I think yeah yeah just simply put yes okay do you know what one thing I'm like Like, I don't know how to explain it. Like, you want to go where you're welcome. Yeah, of course. And you don't want to invade. But you also want to participate. If this is an activity, I guess here's what it is. If this is an activity for you and Tate, I don't want to invade on that. But if it's a family activity, I want to fully embrace it. Yeah. Because I think Tate and I will have things that we do, just the two of us. So speaking of, that is going to be the father-daughter dance.

23:34Are you familiar? yes and no the daddy daughter dances did you guys have these in canada did hayley and your dad go to daddy daughter dance i don't think so what are they like it's like homecoming but with your dad yeah and you go in the little girls how old six mine was like all through grade school so kindergarten to eighth grade yeah and we had them in high school too but i went to an all-girls school. And the dad brings a little what's it called? A corsage? Corsage. Corsage and you put it on her wrist with a flower. No, she gets dressed up. You get dressed up and you take her to the daddy daughter dance.

24:14And they have like a professional photographer. They got music. Line dances. Slow dances. It's the cutest thing. Wait, so what ages? Shirley Temple's. Donuts. We had donuts. What ages? Kindergarten. Five to. Mine was till eighth grade. Mine was not till eighth grade. Mine I think was through fifth grade. So the reason why I may not have known is because my sister's two years older than me. And so if she was doing this in fifth grade and I'm in third grade, my memory probably isn't going to tap into that. So I don't know. But I also don't remember it happening when I was growing up. I don't remember the girls that we went to school with having that.

24:58Because what would the guys do? My brother and mom had mother-son dances. really yeah okay thank goodness because i was feeling left out yeah but what they do with daddy daughter like we i think we took a i think we rented a limo one year and put like all the dad and daughters in it i think i gotta i gotta think back but i do remember it i remember that donuts were part of one i remember my dress for one a lovely experience no no and they wear like really cute like tutu dresses yeah sounds like a lovely experience i thought you're gonna be so much more excited about this that bubber and i get to do yeah it's amazing well i guess that's what i didn't click in is like are bubber and i gonna get to do this yes how do you know i just like of course you are just like at it's hosted by the schools if you don't will we will throw one yeah of course me doing things bubber is my favorite but i do have a great birthday party idea okay i have another place i want to go after this okay i think a really good birthday party is a mommy and me dance class like i i asked our place i was like do you guys do um like birthdays and they were like of course so i think on a saturday like the dads come and you do half mom half dad you get some donuts etc i think it's a really cute idea for the kids and they put on a dance class because the dance class they're not sitting there like pointing their toes they're like running they run with scarves it's more of a play class with music on in the background exactly it's a play class where they run from the green dot to the red dot yeah um speaking of activities yeah i gotta give your uh female friend group in austin some flowers on something that they do that oh i can't like it to me this is the best example of something that like people say they're going to do and then they maybe do it once and then they never do it again but these theme dinners that your girlfriends do it's unbelievable are truly 10 out of 10 well and what makes them so good is that okay so i have a group of friends here who i love i can't explain to you how much i love them and they every month they rotate from who hosts okay and then they have a theme so one was a spelling bee one was college night and they truly they have a spelling bee and they had a winner of the spelling bee and then they had college night where they played beer pong and everyone dressed up in like college outfits you know and they wore like the skirts we used to wear back in college and then they just had and they had like all of your and i like only like kind of knew about that like knew about what was going on because i got a message being like, hey, can you please get me some pictures of Alex from college?

27:46And I was like, sure. But like, why? And then I didn't realize that these like dinners you guys are doing were themed dinners. Yeah. And so the girl that hosted it was our neighbors. They printed out photos of everyone. She printed out photos of everyone in college. So the way I'm in this friend group, because I so speaking of this being a questions episode, a big Q &A that I get is how do you make friends in your adult life and what I got where I got so lucky is our neighbor um the mom neighbor who I love and she's one of my best friends here she has this like friend group that I've now become friends with so I think you call that by proxy yeah by proxy in laws friend in laws and they host all of these dinners so last night was mob wife dinner and they all wore like to the floor fur coats and makeup and like they really do the theme yeah and and what what has almost what i love so much is it happens once a month every thursday rain or shine like i've just been watching these things now happen and okay i'm gonna put you on the spot yes if we were hosting next month and i had to think of the theme right now and you have under a minute to think of the theme, what's my theme?

28:59Canadian themed. Oh, great. Genius. And what are we serving? We are doing Caesars, which is our versions of Bloody Mary. Genius. We are doing breakfast for dinner with Canadian maple syrup, Canadian bacon. And what's the thing we got? Those fries? Poutine. Breakfast poutine. Breakfast poutine. We, in terms of attire, you're either going to wear a Canadian tuxedo or a hockey jersey. Anyone who's a parent knows feeding decisions aren't a one-time thing. You make them again and again, stage after stage, which is why Little Spoon is so incredible. Because here's the thing, they support your feeding journey from the baby stage to the toddler stage to the big kid stage.

29:48First, you've got your baby stage. when your baby first starts to eat real food. And they have baby cereal and baby blends when solids first begin. And it's your baby's first bites. And it's truly adorable. Then you move to the toddler stage where they can start to chew and things like that. And so they have biteables, which are cut to size. And like, I can't tell you how many hours I spent cutting up the food. But the best part about Little Spoon is they do it for you. And then you've got the big kid stage. And here's the thing. Opinions grow and appetites grow. But you know what? Guess who else does?

30:21Little Spoon does too. And when your kid is hungry, they are hungry. And they have ready-to-eat meals, which is so incredible because the second your kid gets hungry, boom, you can have it ready. Beating the kid doesn't have to be complicated. Little Spoon makes it easy with real nutritionally balanced meals and snacks designed for every stage. It shows up ready to go, takes the pressure off, and somehow still gets devoured. devoured veggies and all no artificial dyes flavors or sweeteners either and you know what that's a win we'll take every time get 30 off your first order at littlespoon.com slash two parents with code two parents that's l-i-t-t-l-e-s-p-o-o-n.com slash two parents with code two parents or 30 off your first order do you know the one thing about canada that i think shocks most people when they go is that you cannot order your burger medium rare it's not an option wait what yes it's crazy you cannot order they don't even ask you how you want your burger cooked and if you can't say medium you're not allowed to like it's too raw to be served it's like a health it's a health thing it's a health code situation like you cannot get a burger medium rare there have i ever told you guys how i like my burgers how yes medium well well done well that everything but that's that's how burgers are in canada like it what's crazy though is like Someone asked me the other day, they're like, at what point did you notice you couldn't do it in Canada?

31:47And I didn't notice until a couple years ago. Because growing up in high school, you don't care how your burgers are cooked, right? You're just looking for the cheapest burger on the menu. And then by the time I went to the U.S. and moved to New York, and they started asking how you want your burger done, I just thought that was a New York fancy pants thing. Oh my gosh Yeah You didn't know And so the first time Somebody said How do you want your burger cooked What did you say Like I want it round Not square What are my options Yeah What do I What do I get to pick from You know what I've always said And I'm like Completely Bringing this in on the fly However the chef recommends it You do say that Is that why Because you don't know Your options That's clearly why Aww But And then Now I'm kind of In a world where If I'm at a really nice restaurant and I know it's a good cut of meat, then I will say medium rare.

32:44Also, has the world come around that the best way to eat a steak is now medium? Has that become consensus? Medium rare is out and medium is in? In your world or? Is the world, is this a thing yet or no? I'm not the person to ask. I love a medium rare steak, so why are you saying that? Medium rare plus. i just feel like we've historically or like everyone's i feel like medium rare has been the default order forever right you i mean let's chat gbt this what's the most commonly cooked i would assume that 70 percent of steak 75 percent of steaks ordered in in the u.s are done medium rare i think so too because why why why would you want to do a medium well medium well you can't even taste it it just tastes like charcoal yeah most common is medium rare yeah but what i've come to kind of learn amongst my friend group here is it just feels like medium is much better the only thing i can think of is that restaurants started making medium rare more rare so people started ordering medium which is the new medium rare but i think that most people like a little bit of pink in the middle of their steak.

34:03Okay. I actually, I think that I am going to marry that with my initial statement. Okay. I actually totally agree. But I think, I think what it is, is that when you have a medium rare steak and it's comes out too rare, it ruins the steak versus if you have a medium rare steak and it comes out medium, it's still good. And so you're just safest going medium, but I like the flavor of medium the most. Like I think medium is the best. It's the most flavorful way to eat it. I find that rare is too chewy and I find often medium rare is too chewy. And Alex Kost got me on it. He was always medium and I would chirp him forever.

34:45And then I started going medium. It's just like way better. But I think that you nailed part of why it's way better is you avoid it coming too rare. Let me ask you this. What is your definition of medium? medium my definition of medium is like a faint faint pink color because pink to me is where the flavor comes from now the other caveat here is this if it comes out too rare you can send it back and say can they cook it a little more if it comes out too well done then you gotta ask for a whole new steak i am think i'm just out on sending food back harrison what i don't think i so as i i used to be i i maybe i used to be a big sender backer i don't know the last time i sent something back and i ask i say call me on it no no i think that you will send you are for getting the meal correct so i think you'll send a drink back you'll ask for more something on a drink and you will send a meal back for sure entirely me no when is the last time i've sent a meal back well i think that i think i don't know i can't i don't know i can't like put a finger on it i think you like your food correct if uh i don't remember now but if a if you get a iced coffee instead of a cold brew or whatever one you like okay so there are a couple things that as i think about this when i ask when i ask for fries extra crispy i was just about and they don't come extra crispy that is it and that i got from um my friend's dad growing up would always whenever the fries would come it was an ongoing joke like the fries are cold and he'd always send back the fries.

36:34And I'd be like, even if the fries weren't cold, it was like, it was an automatic reaction. But, I think I've become that man as a fries extra crispy. The other thing you do is if my meal's not right, you definitely send it back, which is nice of you. But the other thing you do is if you order an Aperol spritz, it's nine times out of 10 we're asking for soda water. Well, here's the thing about ordering the Aperol spritz is you can't order the Aperol spritz with extra soda water because it turns the whole, for whatever reason, something gets lost in translation there. That's why with the Aperol spritz, I go can have, it's getting Aperol spritz and a side of soda water.

37:20So that way I can control how much extra goes in. Yeah. You're just, you, you do care about taste. You, you care about your meals. I, I, I cannot put my finger on a time that you've said it will fry as always. But definitely. The mains, like, I don't think I do. I really don't. Maybe you don't. I can't think of a time, so you must not. You always do it in a very polite way. And you always ask me if you're allowed to do it. Which I appreciate. Okay, if we don't get into the questions, then we're never going to get into the questions. So I'm just going to move us along here. Is that okay with you?

37:55Yeah. Okay, question number one. Are you going to do a gift from the new baby to Tate once he's born? a gift from the new baby to tate once he's born okay i'm gonna say no to this because i don't want to set the precedent that like when something big happens to tate that she gets a gift like i think we should be very picky with when we give gifts um because i don't want to set the precedent that she's like always like do i get a gift for this well to me there's there's kind of two pieces to this is on the gift she's not old enough to appreciate gifts so i don't think a gift would really be digested in in any way um because i think we just have like an age age mismatch but where my brain went on the question is what i really want to do over you know the the first 6 12 18 24 months is just give her a ton of responsibility as it pertains to the baby and so like even when it comes to to like changing the baby like hey take can you please hand me the diaper hey take can you please hand me the wipes and that way she doesn't feel like she's just being neglected she feels like she's involved in the process and a caretaker and i don't know if i would have thought like i think part of why my brain is going here is because i'm watching how involved she is on the cooking front and how much she gets it this morning by the way we were cooking and um i was just doing quick eggs and she like i had her on the thing and i had three eggs on the on the table and i went to um get the sausages out of the fridge and they were like so out of her reach and she like reached over grabbed it and just smashed the egg yeah because that's what she thought she was supposed to do so you did you get you said good job yeah of course yeah well this morning okay so the hour i had her i was making eggs and she was just like begging me to put her up in her stool to come do them with me so the point the point being is i i think that as i've watched her really lean into cooking and take the responsibility of cooking on like i think she'll really understand the responsibility of helping the baby, whether it's with their food, with cleanup, with changing, with putting him to bed.

40:22She would love giving him the PASI before bed. So I have a couple of thoughts now that you're saying this. Okay. Number one, I think she should always pick out his outfit because she loves to pick out her outfit. Exactly. So we can give her two options on the outfit. Number two, the only gift I could see, and I would need an expert to weigh in on this. The only gift I could see for a little brother to give his big sister once he's born is a baby doll. So like mom has a baby and then Tate has a baby. Because she likes to do what I do. Like she likes to put her makeup on if I put makeup on. And so if she sees me holding a baby, maybe she would like to have her baby doll that she could also hold.

Read the full transcript

40:57Yeah. I don't know. But I think that she won't understand that's a gift is kind of my point. She's going to know she has it and she has the baby and it's important for her to have the baby. but like she has a baby and she loves it. She loves her baby. Why does she need a new one? She hugs baby. Yeah. Today she kept blowing me kisses going up the stairs. She's just, it's just a, I was just thinking about it earlier. It's pure joy to be a parent. Yeah. It's amazing how much you appreciate and are entertained by all the little things. Yeah, it's pretty cute. Even the cooking though that you guys are doing is pretty cute.

41:30Okay. How was your experience with your OBGYN during slash after Tate's delivery? Were they checking in on you? How and are you going to use the same one for baby boys? So if you don't know, I had a very tough labor and birth and delivery with Tate. It was my epidural didn't work. But that's not the OB's fault. I love my OB. We are absolutely using the same one. There's also something to be said for the second baby walking in. They're like, hey, Alex and Harrison, just head to the back. Like, you know, the people there. We love the people there. They're asking us how Tate is like the rapport is amazing.

42:10Our doctor is phenomenal. But here's my one piece of advice that we learned through labor number one. If you don't think your epidural is working, have him go down there and flick your toes. And if you feel it, your epidural is not working and you might need another one. So I got another epidural, but I was already pretty dilated. And so it was very painful. but the epidural not working is not my OB's fault. So my stitches also fell out. But that's because I went on a walk and it was really hot here. And so she had to restitch me. But again, it's not my OB's fault. And I love my OB. So we're using the same one.

42:54She did check on me. She still checks on me. Every time I go in, she's like, this delivery and this postpartum journey is not going to be the same as it was with Tate. And I'm like, I know that. I mean, this is obviously like the epitome of, you know, I'm on, I'm on the sidelines when it comes to Euro B, but it seems like, um, they treat you very well. And what you said about like the second time around and having the relationships and the familiarity um that that does seem super nice now when it comes to my ob imagine you love them in there they're they're phenomenal they're great you're like this isn't like if i thought they were great i thought they were terrible like this ain't like this i don't i this ain't my call yeah i think it matters if if i it will what no i don't think it matters if i'm comfortable in there and i am comfortable and you seem very very comfortable which is what matters and they just they they do a good they just take care of me and they take care of everyone and here's the thing too like in austin i've met some other people with the same ob and they're like don't you love i like i love her i love her i have a question yes are most ob's across from the hospital no so some some are across from the hospital which is where ours is some are in the hospital building and then some are in very random various locations so like we you're very lucky because them being across from the hospital seems amazing clutch yeah also our ob tries to deliver every baby like that's that's just a big that's like what she's known for and i love that because that means she's coming and she's delivering this baby and she's just with it and so here's the other thing i've been seeing sometimes you know how you know how ob waiting times can be frustrating and you can be like, wow, I waited in here for an hour.

44:48Well, I've learned to really reframe that due to social media of like, imagine what she's doing. She's delivering somebody's baby. She's helping somebody with something else. Like OBs have such an important job that if they're making you wait the hour, well, when they're helping you, somebody else is waiting the hour. We all have love languages. And if you have a dog, you know, they have one too. Some dogs are all about quality time. Some love physical touch, but guess what they all have in common. They all love food and you know what? So do we. So celebrate the one you love the most, your dog, by giving them the best, highest quality ingredients with Ollie.

What? second baby versus first baby. Okay. First baby, did you care that it was your OB, Dr.

46:44Wang, who delivered the baby? Yes. Okay. Second baby, do you care if it's Dr. Wang who delivers it or someone else? I would like it to be Dr. Wang. Okay. I would have thought that maybe for the second baby, you wouldn't care as much. I listen I think in that moment you it's such there's so much going on and it's so intense that you just want to get the baby out of you right and you're feeling all this pain and it's like emotional xyz I don't know in the moment that I would care who walked in and delivered the baby but like sitting here right now today yes I would prefer it to be Dr. Wang because she knows my blood pressure drops like she she's just familiar with me that makes a lot of sense why I asked but But not – that isn't necessarily what I thought your answer would have been.

47:32I thought you would have maybe been like, you know, second time, more flexible. I also – one thing I don't want is – you know how they say don't travel within a month of your due date because you could have the baby in some random location. Well, okay. So for example, we're going to go to Orange County like a month and a half before. And I was thinking, would I care if I went into labor in a random city? And I've decided I would really, really, really care if I did. Like I love knowing our hospital. I love knowing my doctors there. And I love knowing like the highway route we're going to drive home because there's so much unknowns around birth that being able to control certain things feels really important.

48:09Now, granted, I would give birth anywhere, of course. Like that makes so much sense. Of course. But like if I got to pick, I really would love to do it. And I want all of our kids to be born in Austin. Yeah, that that just it makes it makes so much sense. And even just like the idea of like you give birth and then after you give birth, you need to like get on a plane to get back home versus like going to a like a hotel or an Airbnb. Like that is not I imagine that's not the postpartum journey that you're looking for. Let me ask you this. If I did go into labor in let's use Orange County, for example, would you lobby to stay there for a week or would you like want to get us home?

48:49I would make sure that we have both options cleanfully laid out and present them to you and let you make the call. I wonder. Because I don't know if you can fly with a fresh newborn. My instinct is we would get a house for one to two weeks, do the first one to two weeks there, and then go back. But it would be 100 % off of how you'd be feeling. Postpartum on the beach. Not bad, but you're not going anywhere. I wonder if the same rules apply with the second baby as the first baby. Week one in the bed, week two around the bed, and then week three is what is it? Near the bed? Yes. I don't know. I actually have no idea.

49:30I don't know either, but I guess we will learn. Okay. I'm 32 weeks pregnant. Tell me what I should prepare myself for going into labor. I think the number one thing, and I've only given birth one time, but I know some people make birth plans. I don't know and I think that's great but I don't know how you could possibly follow a birth plan because you get in there and there's so many unknowns for example you don't know how fast your contractions are going to move you don't know if your epidural is going to work or if it's not going to work and you don't know how long you're going to push for but I do think you can have an idea around you know I want my husband to cut the umbilical cord I think you can write down certain things.

50:14But I do think once you get in there, it's pretty funny. It's pretty fight or flight mode kicks in. And it's just like if I so I don't write down a birth plan at all. I just say I just have confidence in my body. I can tell you this. Your body knows what to do and it will be tough. But like you are like women are wired to do this so your body can handle it. The doctors and the nurses are incredible. So there's no point being nervous, but just know, like you can't control what happens. And at the end of it, you get this beautiful baby. And like as, as hard as my birth was the moment she came out, I was like, I would do that again.

50:55And it, it was the worst pain of my life. And, um, and I fainted and I threw up every contraction and I, my epidural didn't work and the baby came out and I was like, I would do that a hundred more times. So just have confidence in your body and know that your body can handle it and that there are doctors that are there. If you're doing an at-home birth, your body can handle it and maybe you've got a doula or what do they call them, a midwife that will talk you through it. But for me, I'm a hospital girly and I have a lot of confidence in the people there helping me through it. So take that with what you want.

51:28And then here's what I want to talk about too is the hospital bag. Do your hospital bag first, Dada. What are you taking? Not a chance. Yeah. What are you taking to the hospital? No, no one cares about what's in mine. What's in your hospital bag? What's in my hospital bag? Okay, I'm going to do like not random things, but things that I find to be very important that aren't super common. The number one thing in my hospital bag that like if I forget, I will have somebody bring to me is a heating pad because the second that baby comes out, your uterus lights on fire. And I turned that heating pad up all the way and I put it on top of me and it felt so good.

52:07I don't understand why a heating pad would help if your uterus felt like it was on fire. Like you are burnt. Like cold pack. No. You want heat and you're exhausted. And so it's just like a warm blanket on you. You also, you love a heating pad more than anyone I've ever met. Like I feel like we are running heating pads 24-7. Like there's always heating pads around. I'm always hearing the beeps and the this and the that. I'm also a big heating pad person and so is Ginny. we fight every morning over the heating pad. Ginny bears. She wakes me up at 5 a.m. every morning and barks at me because that's her heating pad time is the morning.

52:45That is so cute. She's conditioned to do it. I return it on and she lays there until we get out of bed. I never thought about a dog. Should we try Bubber on the heating pad? We should Google if that's safe. I don't even know if it's safe for a dog to be on it, but my dog's addicted to it. No, I think it ain't broke on Ginny. Then it's fine. I do want to clarify this because I know I'm probably going to get a comment about it. I know that I can only do the lowest level of a heating pad for 15 minutes when I'm pregnant, and I do do intervals. Yeah. And I was just so very clear. I wasn't referring to like pregnancy.

53:16I was referring to just like, you've been traveling with a heating pad since we've met. I'm a heating pad person. My mom is. That's where I get it. I think her whole side of the family loves a heating pad. We love a heating pad. Okay. Other things in your hospital bag, a long phone charger get one for him get one for you and get the 10 foot to 12 foot cord um people say to take a laptop to birth um or something so you can watch shows i think we watched five minutes of a show and then we just were like talking and there was so much going on but i know people love to watch shows during the birthing process because it's slow um i think we were too excited to even watch a show so we didn't watch one and we took a fire stick to connect it to the tv there yeah we didn't use it once um house shoes or like hospital shoes like from amazon get him a pair and you a pair just like some cheapy slides i like the hospital gear so like i like their birthing gown they have underwear there the freedom mom underwear is also really good for postpartum they have um ice packs there they have what's it called witch hazel there like numbing cream they have all that there which like i thought theirs was great but i also did make i mean you got to get all this stuff for at home and what you need at home is the ice pack they call them postpartum ice packs and then witch hazel and there's like this numbing cream and you put it all in and then you put on the the diaper underwear and i had i don't know three weeks worth of that yeah and we just ordered a little stand and all that stuff went on the stand in the bathroom In the bathroom and it was just easy access and we kept it stocked.

54:55And then the other thing is you need chapstick because you will get, your lips will get so chapped. I think it's from the epidural. I remember I was just dousing Aquaphor on me and you need a car seat. Don't forget to take the car seat with you because that's how you get the baby home. And that's where you get the really cute videos of dad walking out of the hospital. I think they tell you that in the postpartum room. I think they ask. I think they check that, and they check the seatbelt. They do. The nurse walked us out and checked her in the seatbelt. And we were nervous because we were like, we have never.

55:30Okay, so have we talked about your going home outfit? Probably not. Harrison wore a suit to take his baby girl home from the hospital, and it was the cutest thing on the planet. He went, he changed, he put on a suit, and he walked her out. Do you know why I wore a suit? yes but tell us i know because tom pitts told you he did yeah but they don't so tom pitts is one of harrison's do you call him a mentor or a friend friend mentor everything in between why did he wear one he i think he just wanted to pay respects to what a big day it was and bring his children home the right way will you do it i think it was probably a lot something along the lines of like if that's not an occasion to put on a suit i don't i don't know what it is i i completely agree with that line right there.

56:19Yeah. But will you do that with baby number two? Will you wear a suit?

56:26Probably. Probably. I liked it. Well, let me ask you this. Why wouldn't you do it with every kid now? Can we do that? Can we make it a tradition? Yeah, I think it's a tradition. I think it should be. And then you carry him out and I would have the same. I would love to frame you. Honestly, the delay of what I was thinking was I wore like a pink kind of rose jacket on the way home. And part of why I chose the outfit was because of tape being a girl. So I need to get – I want to get like the same jacket in blue. Yeah. So that's on my to-do list. And you wore white pants. Yeah. I think I'm going to do the exact same outfit, but I'm going to swap this shirt.

57:14And the shirt was also pink stripes. I'm going to swap this. I'm going to get it from the same brand. And are you going to keep that jacket and wear it to her daddy-daughter dance or somewhere special? That's a great idea. I love it. So now you still have the jacket? Oh, yeah, of course. Okay. You have to keep that forever. I love it. Because the good thing about guys, like it'll fit you forever. Yeah. I mean. Unless you do like a crazy. My weight goes up and down. But within reason, it should fit you. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I love it. Okay. And then the other thing, a lot of people will say to take like shampoo, a towel, things like that, the shower at the hospital.

57:49I am not a shower at the hospital. I just wait until I'm home. I just ride it out. But if you want to shower at the hospital, take your stuff. I didn't want to stand up. I felt like crap. My body was on fire. Like I just, showering was not in the cards for me. But when I got home and showered, that was amazing. but there was no showering happening for me or you um hospital bag for dad you forgot your number one thing which is why that you said do not forget the donut oh my gosh you have to get a donut on amazon and it's basically like there's a hole cut out in the center of it and so you sit on it because we're giving birth hurts and i sat on that donut for three four weeks do you remember that black donut i carried around with me everywhere i cannot believe i forgot that get the donut off amazon i think it's called a maybe it's called a postpartum donut i don't know it's black and it's like foam with the center cut out for the car ride home for the car ride home i i if i did not have that i think i would have cried the whole way home and harrison drove 40 miles an hour on the way home in the right hand lane and we have never it's like we had never driven a car before that was yeah that was a an intense car ride home because you have your most precious cargo with you yeah yeah i mean it was i remember it vividly here's the thing about cleaning products you guys you use them every single day and you use them all over the place on the counters where you prepare the food the laundry detergent that you wash your clothes in and the counters and the floors that your little ones are crawling on so it becomes even more important when you're a parent.

59:31And with the new year here, it's the perfect time to make a simple switch and ask yourself one important question. Do you actually know what you're cleaning your home with and how it might be affecting how you feel? Well, here's the thing, you guys. A lot of products look clean, but they still contain ingredients linked to hormone disruption, skin irritation, and respiratory issues. Enter Branch Basics, you guys. This female-founded brand is redefining transparency and eliminating toxins from our homes, starting with the products we use the most. And they have one powerful concentrate, you guys, that ever since we've started reading these ads and I really understand what can be in other cleaning products, I reach for the Branch Basics every single time.

1:00:14And it's nice because I clean the counter and I feel good about it. Their premium starter kit comes with one powerful concentrate that makes everything, Okay, laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, even pet wash and vegetable rinse. It's just one plant mineral-based formula that replaces all of it. And it's safe for babies, pets, and anyone wanting to reduce their daily exposure to harmful chemicals in the new year. And here's the good news. Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop at Target, Target.com, Amazon, and of course BranchBasics.com. Tossing the toxins has never been more convenient.

1:00:49And for anyone grabbing the premium starter kit, you can still get 15 % off at branchbasics.com with our code 2PARENTS. Just use code 2PARENTS for 15 % off the premium starter kit at branchbasics.com. After you purchase, when they ask where you heard about, be sure to mention our show. What are you taking to the hospital? What am I taking to the hospital? I think that the most important thing is any half comment you make about something that would be nice to have, I'm just keeping track of those and ordering them through. Definitely making sure we have an extra charger for phones, covers, like a big sleeping cover.

1:01:41A blanket. A blanket. is what I need for my... But when people say blanket, I think they could think a little throw. I bought an actual single big kind of duvet cover, which was really nice. And then as I think about Pregnancy One, I'm not sure how much you recall this, but we probably door dashed three or four different things that we forgot when we were there. Yeah. And so like, you know, between having family there and being able to door dash stuff like it isn't. Yeah. Pop quiz. Yeah. What did we have your sister bring us to the hospital? Oh, my goodness. You don't know.

1:02:40Give me a hint. the details of all this stuff was kind of fun we still have it but we've never used it gotta give me a hint we that's the hint we still have the thing we took home and we've never used it oh my goodness she brought us an ice box for the placenta because they won't let you take it home unless you have an ice chest yeah and we were like we're just gonna take our placenta with us And they were like, it can't leave this room unless it's on ice. And we were like, just hand it to us in the bag. And they were like, no. So she had to bring us an ice chest. Cooler, yeah. That's really funny.

1:03:21Remember that? That's really funny. And our placenta still sits in the freezer untouched. And we should do something with it. Yeah. We've got to fertilize a tree, the Tate tree, and then we'll do another tree. That's what we need to do. Okay, H, this one's for you. What do you look forward to most about having a baby boy?

1:03:45Honestly, just like having another kid and watching them grow and develop their own unique personality. and like it almost feels like an overly cliche answer, but like I'm just so excited to like watch you bring another baby into this world and then watch that baby grow into their own unique individual. So a lot of dads want a boy because there's that like sports stereotype, right? They're like, yeah, I've got my little hockey player. I don't feel like you've ever had that like you don't you've never really cared what gender and I don't feel like you're already talking about like what sports I want to encourage them to follow their own unique interests and passions and I don't want to cast my passions and expectations on on them like I don't want them to you know come out and think they need to do X or they need to do Y right I think I think that's cool that there's like no pressure in that regard but you didn't care if it was a girl or a boy yeah at all like at all for me what I'm excited about is I see the the father-daughter bond you have with Tate and a lot of boy moms have told me like just you wait like when you get that boy there's something about the mother-son bond and I don't know what that feels like because I have such a good bond with Tate and she's a girl but I'm really excited to understand what every single boy mom has told me which is just like these little boys and so I'm excited for the the mother-son bond because I watch you and Tate's bond and it's it's strong and it's sweet and it's cute she's like your little girl yeah I mean but I I look at you're in Tate's bond and it's it's as special as it gets and to me it's it's much more about the kid than the gender totally i did see a funny head like some people really care about the gender i i just am not well i'm not one of them you and i want more than two kids right god willing let's say we have three or four it's funny like once you have we have one of each now like i don't care at all somebody asked me that day like what do you want the next one to be i was like oh doesn't matter doesn't matter at all yeah um i did see a funny heather mcmahon quote though and she was like, what's going on with like the boy moms?

1:06:17Like, is there something about the second that baby comes out? You're just like, he can do no wrong. And I'm going to try to not have that. Okay. How do you like the timing of the weather seasons with this pregnancy versus Tate? That's such a funny question. I know, but it's so real because you really do think about it. So Tate was born September 17th and this guy will be born sometime in April. And here's the thing. Number one, like you don't get to pick when you're pregnant and it's a blessing no matter what. So getting that out of the way, I can speak to my two timelines. So my first timeline was January to September and this timeline is July to April.

1:07:00The July to April is awesome because you have the holidays and then you have the new year and once the new year hits, you're basically in your third trimester. So it feels like it's all downhill from there. So also seasonally, um, it's really cold when you're getting to the, like the sweatpants season and the thirds end of second and third trimester is prime. Whereas in September being like the thick of summer and then being in your third trimester, cause I run hot. That was tough. So I love, I love this due date of April, but again, cannot say it enough. Anytime is a good time. anytime is good.

1:07:39Um, okay. H, are you going to get Tate and baby boy, a five 30 a account, which I do not know what that is. Uh, yeah. So these are new investment accounts for, uh, for kids. They, um, they start this year. And so on this most recent, recent years, tax filing, you can opt into them and then you take the form that it gives you you bring him you bring it to your bank and uh the advantages of uh of these accounts is number one if your child is born um in 2025 through 2028 then the government gives you a thousand dollars in the account and then secondarily you can contribute up to five thousand dollars a year in the account and it grows tax-free up until uh they are your kid is 18 years old so the big advantage of this um beyond the initial funding from the government is the 529 which is the um which is the common kind of education one, that money, while it grows tax-free, needs to be used for educational purposes.

1:09:05And this can be used by the kids for anything, which is great. And when do they get access to it? And it's 529 and 530A, right? Yes. So they get access to it at 18 years old. Okay. And it can only be taken out by them, and I believe they need a U.S. Social Security number. Okay. Okay, cool. So Tate being born in 2024 does not qualify for this, but the baby boy does. The baby boy does. But Tate we can still open up an account for, which we have not done yet, but we will. And I was going to say one other thing. Oh, some banks I believe are matching$1 ,000. So I believe Chase and Bank of America are doing$1 ,000 match.

1:09:47So day one, just by going there and opening the account, you're getting$2 ,000 in your kids' names. So by no means is this financial advice, but this is what we will be doing for our kids. Pretty cool$2 ,000 in their account right off the bat. It's amazing. And I believe if we can pull up the quote that Michael Dell is donating. I don't want to misquote the number. An Austin boy. $6.25 billion. Which is just incredible. I believe that that donation from the Dell family is the largest donation ever made. And so that's being used for 25 million kids. Is it, Jules? Yes, it says the largest donation to benefit children.

1:10:41Wow. Incredible. Incredible. And then I think, yeah, so this is great and gives every kid exposure to the stock market and hopefully a little nest egg when they turn 18. Okay. I think that's incredible that people can do that. $2 ,000 right out of the gates. I didn't know about this, but I'm glad you know about this. Yeah, and let's confirm that bank matching. But I believe I saw that. I believe that. And if not, it's still 1 ,000, which is phenomenal. I believe that they would do it, but I don't know. Okay, let's go to in the comments. So we had Dr. Ari Brown on, and we asked her, does spanking actually work?

1:11:27And she was saying no, no, that spanking is not effective. and we posted the clip in you guys, not you guys, not, I don't think, I don't know who it is, but it's funny because the comments are overwhelmingly against that take. So the first one is my data says otherwise, both as a receiver and giver. So as someone that was spanked and does spanking, then somebody says, I disagree with this professional. I am a teacher and this gentle parenting is not working now here's my problem with that comment we are not gentle parenters however we will not be spanking and i do not think the two are synonymous just because you don't spank does not mean you are a gentle parent just means you don't spank i have a question is spanking one of those things that people are doing like we don't spank we have no plans to spank.

1:12:22We've heard from ample professionals who have advised us against the matter. I've never public, like when we're out for dinner and we're talking to friends, all of our friends have said they don't spank. Where the question comes is like, is this something that people are doing like behind closed doors and they're just not saying that they're doing it? Because I'm very surprised that this has like come out of the comments. These are their usernames, like Amy1965, I assume this is Amy born in 1965. She's spanking. Also, we've got Amy Stollo. She's just using her full name. So two Amy's, which is interesting.

1:12:58Lauren Cathy, registered nurse. Like they're just using their, I don't think, they're not behind a closed door. Tiffany Clark, it works wonders for me. I'm very surprised. I'm very surprised. Here's the thing though. I think it's funny. I haven't found somebody that told me to spank yet besides these comments. And like, we don't take advice from people that we don't know. but and i think a lot of it is what dr are covered which is people are like i got spanked and i turned out fine that's what half of these comments are and they were like it worked on me because i didn't want to get spanked so i behaved well i just don't think that's it yeah i did interestingly see a video of okay so back in the 1950s when a kid was like i don't want to eat they slapped the belt on the table and he's like grabs the bowl back to him and then in the 1980s or 90s he's like i don't want to eat and then they slap a wooden spoon on the table and he pulls the bowl back to him and then they're like 2025 and he's like i don't want to eat and they just pop up a little screen in front of him and turn on a tv and he's like okay and then he starts eating i thought that is crazy nailed it okay bicker of the week and then harrison has to go to his workout class the bigger of the week is it okay to wear your partner's clothes before they wear them for example if they still have the tag on them we're answering this because me being pregnant here sometimes i can wear anything whenever i want 100 so i take the tags off all of his sweaters and i wear them first we're gonna answer this as though i'm not pregnant i i think a wild move you do okay is you buy me gifts and then before i even have the chance to wear the gifts you wear It's a while.

1:14:37Like, and this started at the very beginning of our relationship. Like you bought me that awesome orange wax jacket. And definitely you were wearing that before, before you were pregnant. And I think like what, and like, I remember I got that Vancouver Voodoo jersey wearing it. I think like where it's our we have a peculiar case is when you wear stuff, it then goes and gets seen by millions of people. So like I feel like once you wear it and you wear it on the potty road on social, it kind of becomes yours. So like and it's a great example of something like I don't actually care about. Right. But it's it's like it is a it is a like hilarious dynamic.

1:15:27make well what's funny is is roles can't be reversed here like i've never bought a sweater that you've then been like can i wear that but i do think it's a tale as old as time where like girls love to steal their guys shirts so like i do buy you a gift and i think that i this would be so great on both of us and yes i i just think what's yours is mine and mine is yours this would be so great on both this would be this sweater i stand by like um what's mine is yours what's yours is mine 100 it just we we really put that into play on the gift on the gift thing but here's the reality situation i can wear your shirt you're wearing right now you you cannot wear mine you know what next podcast episode i'm just gonna wear your outfit i mean be my guest you're allowed to it's just it's not joke is then on you i'll get a little crop top yeah but spring yeah he's not a spring color palette only i am um okay H you gotta go enjoy your studio three workout what are you doing today well there's a bit of a wrinkle going on Kill Tony launched um a surprise show that comes out at 12 o 'clock and so just be be there be ready and then just be two minutes late into class is fine yeah but the problem is those class the tickets like you need a it can be a 30 it can be a 30 minute ordeal do you want to call thank you very much for listening I.E.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re answering YOUR questions - but fair warning: we had a lot to say (40 mins worth) before we got there. In our defense: shampoo recs, steak temperatures, and daddy/daughter dances felt important at the time (LOL).

OK SO FIRST… We talk about 5AM toddler mornings (is this a phase?!), using ChatGPT to survive your inbox, and the very unexpected realization that if you have a nut allergy… you might want to check your shampoo ingredients. We also debate 2-in-1 shampoo (dealbreaker or fine?), and Harrison pitches his “best worst idea of the week”: Tinder… but for streaming services.

From there, we get into pregnancy things no one warns you about - including dental issues during pregnancy (are dentists still running the biggest scam in America?! IYKYK) - and why dads showing up to “mommy & me” classes might actually be one of our favorite cultural shifts. We talk daddy/daughter dances, the #1 toddler birthday party idea that parents will actually enjoy, and why themed dinner parties deserve a comeback.

Then we spiral into food takes (you can’t order burgers medium-rare in Canada?!), whether sending food back is ever worth it, and finally dive into your Q&A questions: should a new baby bring a “gift” for their sibling, what really matters when choosing an OBGYN, what to prepare for before labor, and what actually belongs in a hospital bag - including the one item I would never, ever skip.

We also talk about what we’re most excited for with a baby boy, whether there’s a “best” season to be pregnant, and if we’re planning to open investment accounts for the kids.

We wrap with a comment section debate that got people fired up (apparently ppl are really pro-spanking???) and a Bicker of the Week about wearing your partner’s clothes before they do (which OF COURSE is fine IF they are pregnant lol).

LOVE YOU GUYS. Thanks for listening!!!!!
