In short
This episode of Two Parents and a Podcast mixes family updates, home/lifestyle talk, and pop-culture commentary. Topic highlights: debating switching outdoor lawn grass to turf because the grass feels slippery/ruins the look; a “neighborhood tool library” idea (rent/share items like lawnmowers, rug shampooers, window washers); celebrating Tate’s 2nd birthday with a door decoration, a farm-themed balloon setup (Party City balloons + a helium tank), and a pancake breakfast with neighbors/grandparents; and discussing “ultimate mom car” tech—self-driving “cybercabs”/robo-taxis for grandparents and the future of self-driving minivans.
Key claims
daily joy and feeling loved shape kids’ confidence; turf will solve the grass problem; HighRox is “adult PE class” and should handle poop incidents with better accountability; sponsor “line pulling” is unfair.
Notable examples
Tate’s gluten-free/dairy-free yellow cake with pudding and orange juice; grandparents riding in cybercabs; the “poop” Hyrox controversy and proposed 1–3 race suspension.
Guests
no named guests appear; it’s primarily the hosts (Jules and Harrison) with family members mentioned (Alex, Harrison’s parents, grandparents, neighbor Robert).

Try, I'm trying. I've got a new kind of thought happening. What? There's a lot coming in the house and not a lot going out of the house. And that's a bad recipe. I agree. We're due for a purchase. And are we, are we going? Yep. Okay, off the top, off the top. Where are we going? Where are we starting today? My least favorite question. You take the bull by the horns. You tell us. Okay. I have a confession. Okay. And I don't know what to do about it. Confess first, and then we will tell you our thoughts.
0:42I have to tell you something. Okay. I don't like the pool lawn chairs. I don't like the whole setup. I think it's a total swing and a miss. I, like, love it. I don't like the... I really don't like it. well what okay i get a lot of dms asking if you finally like the lawn chairs i thought you loved them i just i don't i walk out and i i don't think it's it oh what don't you like about it
1:13i don't think it fits the space i don't think it fits the style of the house i think i don't think it fits everything else we're doing can i say a reason why i think you might not like it Yes, I think the green with the grass. I think it's the grass. The grass? Thank you, Jules! But we're switching to turf. I hate the grass more than I can. The grass is ruining the entire thing. We're going to swap it to turf. I think it's the green. Isn't turf green? But I think right now the grass... So I thought about this, and I kind of was wondering why Lulu and Georgia only made green. But now that I'm thinking about it, They make green because it usually goes on cement, but we're going to do turf, less slippery.
1:57Like, I do think... But I think... Hold on. I love it. I will say, like, I love the chairs. And I love the umbrellas. I think that the issue is the grass. Like, Jules, the grass is murdering me. I, like, have a hard time going back there because of it. And Harrison told me that I need to get over it. And I'm happy to know someone's with me. do you know why i'm a huge advocate of switching out the grass do you know why i'm not fighting you on this because i'm right i yeah but do you know what proved to me that you're right jewels just now no i don't know who do you think could prove to me the easiest our neighbor no of anyone in our lives you guys gotta guess this alex cost no he's i mean obviously he's like we've named all you haven't named them your mother no these are all great people but tate wow and what is tate doing not liking the grass how do i know tate's not like grass no she's not walking on it she's tate does not walk on the grass this is my qualm with um what's it called d betty and barton springs is that you got to walk on grass with wet feet and And that is a, it's a disgusting feeling.
3:19She walks on the side. She walks on the, on the coping. And she won't go on the grass. Because she loves to walk to the hot tub. And so you got to walk when she's walking. You got to like walk with her barricaded. So she doesn't fall. She doesn't like that. She's always trying to hit your hands away. So that's the big thing for me. The grass is. Yeah, the grass is going to go. It's tragic. Goodbye to the grass. But I don't think that solves our problem. Because you're still green on green. It's going to solve a lot of it. But yes, I do think what you can do is you can do some kind of pavers that the furniture goes on that hopefully...
3:55Like anchors it. Anchors it. Offsets the green. Some travertine pavers, yes. They're so slippery. But if they're just under the chairs... The people will tell us. Yeah, they will. I'm excited about the turf swap out. I think the grass is. And then they came and mowed it. And like, you know how they do hair for guys at like a certain level, like a three or two or one. They did like the highest level. Like I was like, oh, couldn't believe the level that they mowed the grass at. Couldn't believe how un-mowed it looked. Did you notice that too? Couldn't believe it. I was like, we need to mowed again.
4:31That's hilarious. I saw a guy online yesterday mowing his grass angry. It was so funny. He was in a riding lawnmower and he was just turning like this and he was just so mad. All right, we're going to welcome the people. Ready? Yes. Welcome back to another episode of Two Parents and a Podcast. I have something off the mowing. Please, Jules. I think your community would be primed for it. Just like a shared lawnmower on your street. One person. Our community is primed for it, and our neighbors are the people to have the lawnmower based at their house. That all said. What a great idea. There's just certain things that you don't need.
5:09Well, I don't know about lawnmower. I'm not a homeowner. but like my apartment building in Chicago you could rent like a Dyson vacuum cleaner a I don't know a bunch of things that you need maybe like once a month but you couldn't you didn't need to have all the time so you didn't want to spend a bunch of money on it and I think it would be good for neighborhoods so Jules I love this idea I'll take it a step further what if every house we said okay I would like to shampoo my rugs once every three months I think it's the best way to clean You shampoo it does it. Have you seen that they had they sell to Lowe's and Home Depot?
5:43No, I take a very deep cleaning. You can actually rent it from Lowe's and Home Depot. Okay, actually I know you're not want to own it But if one person had that if one person had the lawnmower if one person had the window washing machine Take a step further. There's a shed kind of an shed on someone's property. That's kind of not put to good use we put a lock a code a code on the shed and all the shared items go in there i wonder if anybody does this i wonder if any neighborhoods have already started doing this because it's the best thing you need all these things when you're in like a big intense cleaning mood i always think if i had all these items i would do it today but i don't want to have them every day and the big problem that you run into in this situation is when it breaks who fixes it we have a lot of fixers on our street a lot but maybe everyone could own a job like we could have this is the Oh, you need to have your oven deep cleaned.
6:34This is your oven deep cleaner. Oh, you need to shampoo your rugs. Here he comes. What would be yours? Me? Organizer. Oh yeah. Great, great organizer. Actually. What would be yours? What would be mine? Cake baker? I was just gonna say that. Complainer. Am I not allowed to make that joke? How did it feel coming out of your mouth when you said that? Did it feel good? Hmm? You guys just don't know what that is. Ignored it the first time. We were trying to give you a pass. I knew it was a joke. I wanted to make you feel weird. And then I doubled down and you guys, oh boy. Yeah, that's two on one right there, H, okay?
7:11Oh boy. It'll be tens of thousands on one in the comments. Pardon? I said it'll be thousands on one in the comments. It was a joke. We know it was a joke. We know.
7:26So, but it's a good transition to the cake bake. Alex Cost already asked if we should bag them up. Start selling them. I was expecting that expectations were low. A plus grade. Hold on. I made the cake last night for Tate's birthday. This is what we're referring to. Don't know if you guys saw it on Instagram. It was beautiful. It looked good. It was, Jules. Not only was it good, it was great. and my mom has two cake recipes that are phenomenal that she makes for our birthdays she was supposed to come and make the cake her flight was like three or four hours delayed so she was like Alex you're gonna make the cake so I'm like okay I number one I enjoyed myself making the cake number two I thought the cake looked beautiful number three it tasted there was none left.
8:24It's been a long time since I've made a cake and there was none left. And the reason she has this cake recipe, it's natural. Like there's no substitutions here. It's gluten-free and dairy-free. Oh. Yeah, because you put coconut milk in the icing. And it tasted like neither. Like it tasted like just a great cake. Can you explain what's in the cake? Yes. Okay, so it is yellow cake mixed with pudding. So it kind of, you can imagine the texture there and orange juice. There's some orange juice in it. and powdered sugar. Yum. Yeah, with a nice icing. Oh, do you know what I think the biggest factor in my success was?
9:00What? I didn't know we had a mixer. And yesterday I remembered we had one and so I used it. The hand mixer. Yep. I think that you got for Harrison. I bought the hand mixer for Harrison. Forgot that we owned it because typically we don't, I was like, oh, we just don't have this tool. We do have it and it made all the difference in the world. But what I'm, where I think you need the most, where I think like there's the double kudos on this, is question one is does it taste good? And I feel like it's very hard to make a good cake and not have it dry out when you're doing the whole kind of fancy double thing.
9:36The second piece is does it look good? And so the fact that it tasted great and looked good, that was, like you got the double whammy there. I was putting butterflies on it. It was so cute. I took everything for Tate's birthday. We're going to put a photo of the cake up. I took everything for Tate's birthday very seriously. I take everything for everyone's birthday very seriously. Yeah. Normally, I am the... Normally, I'm out of bed first in the morning. That's kind of how it's been for the past year or so. And Tate's birthday morning, I wake up to my natural alarm clock, and there's Alex, brushing her teeth like a kid on the first day of school.
10:25Like, she was so excited. And I was like, oh, is Tate up? And she's like, no, no, no, I'm just getting ready for when she's up. So your excitement around the whole experience was amazing. I love holidays and I love birthdays and I just wanted her to have the best day ever. Like, I wanted her, from the moment she woke up to the moment she went to bed, to feel an immense amount of love. And she definitely did. And I really applaud you for taking the initiative on it all that you did. Because, you know, for me, I'm kind of sitting there, I'm not sure what we're going to be doing here, right? And, you know, on one end, you're saying, okay, there are two, they're not going to remember this.
11:13But then on the other end, what you said to me, which, which really landed was you never want there to be a day that goes by where she doesn't feel loved. And even if she's not gonna remember that, you know, per se exact birthday moment 10 years down the road, it's something that she'll naturally tie back to over time. And we never know the exact moment where they can start remembering that feeling of being loved. Plus, we'll have the photos that started from the day she was born and showed how much love and support she had from all these different people. So on this memory thing, I have two thoughts.
11:56The first is, I think that they have a current memory bank. Well, we know they do. Because she sees an elephant and she knows it's called an elephant. So there's the current memory bank, which I think is reset at 7 and 11. It resets, there's like two ages apparently in or around that it does a reset. So that's one thing. So right now we're collecting all the memories in this current bank. Yes. Number two, the way, even if they don't form memories, the way they feel shapes who they are, shapes their confidence in life. It shapes how they feel about the world. So I think every day is very important.
12:31I also was just going to say, like, she feels joy in the moment. Joy, Joel. It's like feeling these feelings of joy and happiness and warmth. Like they do shape exactly who she's going to become. articulated so well your memory bank resets at seven seven okay so yes you've really done the research on this good good good good no you nailed it and and um in terms of what we did do you want to explain in terms of what you did do you want to explain well we did it together but i did do all the like i did i did i did the design and you did the blowing up so we did a farm and well we decorated her door so when she first woke up we decorated her door the reason we decorated her door was we were in Colorado for my birthday and you two decorated my door and she seemed very excited about that so door decorating wasn't something that was on my radar until I was at the store and I was like we got to decorate her door she will love it and let me tell you what she loves it and I think that she remembers mama's door was decorated mama birthday so I want to decorate her door then we can decorate Rocky's door now we can decorate your door so door decorating can become a birthday thing.
13:39How long is, great, how long do you think that door thing is going to stay on her door for? We'll let her take the lead on that. I don't think it's coming down. It's not like easy. You know, I do. It's, I'm like, oh gosh, you kind of step on it to get through it. But she loves it. Yeah. So, and we decorated the door. Then the big thing was you go downstairs and we made a farm. And she likes a couple things right now. She's very into purses car keys like items right and she's into her farm animals loves animals and so instead of getting her like a purse I really wanted to foster and pour water on the animal loving that's happening um and it kind of like is a nod to her birthday party coming up because there's going to be some ponies there it's a bit of a two-step theme right so I thought that this kind of like like a farm corresponded with that.
14:29So we did a farm and she and Winnie are loving pointing out the animals. Yeah, so in terms of what you did for the farm is you ordered blow-up balloons. I went to Party City and got them. It is such a good idea. And I looked online, you can order them online. And what did we do? We did like six animals and it is just, every time she comes downstairs, no we kept them. It is a moment of excitement for them. It's a great call, looks cool. She loved them. I got the helium tank. This is the thing too. I know a lot of people probably blow up the, go order the balloons, they get blown up, you go, you pick them up, you put them in your car.
15:12I love, this is what we did for her first birthday too. I love buying the helium tank. It's$59 or$69. And so you buy the helium tank, you bring it back. You also bring the balloons back with you. And then Harrison and I, we sit up the night before and we like talk about memories. We talk about Bubba. We talk about being parents and we blow up the balloons together. Yes. And it's like one of my favorite things because it's very, it's very Christmas Eve, right? Yeah. I really applaud you taking the, um, the lead on these things. End of summer is the perfect time to refocus on your personal health goals.

17:05So we had a pancake breakfast, Maria, Winnie, the neighbors, grandparents, everyone came over, we had a pancake breakfast, then we hung out. We still have an open presents. She could have, because of this. Oh, we haven't talked about the neighborhood. The balloon situation was so fun for her that presents they couldn't be bothered with. We had presents, I think everyone on our street brought her a present. The sweet man that lives across the street, Robert. He brought, yeah. He brought her a coloring book. No, Jules, it was so sweet. So she got a lot of presents. Everyone. I couldn't believe every neighbor bought her a gift.
17:44At one point one was leaving, another was coming in. She knows them all though. She says hi to them. She knows their name. We talk about their houses. So... That's my favorite part is they know her and she knows them. She knows them. So anyways, we had a big revolving door day. And Bubba did get a car. She got a car. Harrison's parents bought her a car the same kind of car they have which is really cute actually she went it was when I tell you this is foreshadowing 14 years from now because her and Winnie are two weeks apart so Tate drove her car immediately to Winnie's house picked up Winnie and I was thinking when they're 16 my best friend Sydney and I we were two months apart so she was 16 two months before me she drove me everywhere put it up keep going Okay.
18:32Sydney drove me everywhere for two months and then I got my license. And so for Tayden Winnie, it's going to be two weeks. That's fun. Isn't that cute? Did I ever tell you guys that the first time I drove on the road, someone hit me? Shut up. The very first time I drove on the road. No, explain that. It wasn't bad. It was my dad, me and my dad were driving down the street. I was stopped at a stop sign and he had like a low, just like normal sedan. And the person was in like a big like escalator or something. And they just turned into our car, but their wheels were so big that it just rubber burned the hood of my dad's car.
19:11Like there was no damage or anything, but I was a little bit scarred. I mean, that's tragic. Yeah. You had your permit. Yes. Yeah. And like, I had driven in the parking lot before. I don't know if you guys did that before. But it was the first time I was out on the road. And it just hit you. Yeah. And he was like, this isn't... How long until you got back in the car? Well, my dad drove home. I probably drove the next day. It wasn't like a big deal or anything, but it was just... No, probably not. You're just cheer-worthy, no? It could be scary. Big moment, just get the license, boom. Game over.
19:46Yeah. But the cop, like, I don't know. It was just weird. And she was texting. That was the other thing. So I was more like, she's a ding dong. Not, I'm upset. All right. So I hate to break it to you.
20:02Bubba, our daughter, in 14 years, she will not be getting a license. Licenses will not exist. These robo taxis, they're coming in, man. Our streets under construction, in a Waymo, it would have fallen apart on the street. It would have its brain would have broke. I saw a robo taxi. It drove up saw that there was construction Backed into a driveway turned around went off and I was like you guys these robo taxis are dialed so last night we put When I was wrapping up we we ordered Robo taxis for both of the grandparents so we both the grandparents and robo taxis And they got it my mom wouldn't get in I don't think it does do it i i think the feedback was 10 out of 10 yeah both sets of grandparents loved it but the best way to describe it i didn't i haven't heard you say this yet it's like it is a it's a business class seat on the road no steering wheel all you have to do is just sit there and chill like this i would take a robo taxi i'll take it this far if i needed a break from the house Okay, because sometimes our house can be overstimulating.
21:14You got kids you got stuff Instead of driving because that then I have to be aware I could call a robo-taxi and just take a loop and come back I saw a tweet the other day that said like our Tesla is gonna become the new mom car the self because the self-driving ones You can tend to your kid while it's driving like so there's just a level of Attention you can give to your kid while the car is driving you Bubba's new thing is she wants to hold hands while we're driving. And you can't do that. I have a question, though. I guess you couldn't have a car seat in a robotaxi. Well, I guess. And we've got to start calling them cybercabs, not robotaxis.
21:56Because they're both on the app. A robotaxi is like a Tesla Model X or Y or whatever with the steering wheel. A robo cab. A cybercab. A cyber cab, thank you. That's the gold one without the steering wheel. That's the unbelievable experience. That's the business class experience in a car. So that's why I kept saying I've seen the robo taxis all the time. Yes, we were using the wrong words. It's the cyber cabs. This is very me. The cyber cabs are the game-changing experience for me. So cyber cabs, you likely couldn't have a car seat. Can you buy a cyber cab right now? That's what I'm trying to buy.
22:38but I like filled out the forums and they haven't gone back to me Weber took my lip gloss I really I want to make a play on these cybercabs is there any way you can if anyone can help if any listener can help us get a cybercab please please please please you don't think Elon listens
22:58please don't rule him out of perhaps being a listener and then we'd operate you can operate it too how could you operate it Well, that's what we need to figure out, is if you buy a cyber cab, can you use it as a personal vehicle and let the fleet use it? Like, and lend it to the fleet? Oh, we can have one as our car? In theory, that would make sense. What I saw, or what my friend told me about, is that they were doing some sort of program where you buy it and then rent it back to them, essentially. But I don't know if that was just rented back to them to be in the fleet, or you could still use it yourself as well.
23:40Well, I'd assume... Yeah, I think that's the question. I'd assume the reason why they want you operating it is because, like, one of the most amazing parts of the experience is how clean the car is. And so keeping the car clean would be very important. Did you know minivans have, some minivans have a vacuum in it? Yeah. Like you literally pull out the wand and you can just vacuum it up. That is incredible. Someone is going to make a lot of money on a new age minivan. You can't buy a Tesla Cyber Cab for personal use right now. But I think in a year we'll be able to. And that's going to be mind blowing.
24:16Because I've been very out on this whole self-driving. I actually wasn't a big fan of the electric cars. I would get a cyber cab. The self-driving minivan, take it a step further. That's the ultimate mom car. That's the ultimate mom car. I saw a self-driving, I saw a prototype of one by Tesla. I don't know if that was real or fake. Well, he'll make one. Yeah, maybe in time. In time, in time. Everyone talks about January being the best time to reset, but September is when I actually feel it. Mornings start earlier. Everybody's back on schedule. And somewhere in there, I'm supposed to get myself together too.

26:08So excited. Tonight we're going to go to the public golf course, and the kids are going to run around and play, and there's like a little... Have you been to Lions? It's awesome. They have... There's... What is the name of the establishment? It's not... I think it might be Mexican food. Anyways, it's like a little... It's like a counter order, like old school. You order at the counter, they give you... Cisco's. Cisco's. Counter ordering. Okay. Remember, it was maybe six weeks ago, I went for breakfast. That was way longer than six weeks ago, but yes. I will say one thing I'm terrible at is like, I'll say six weeks, and it could have been two weeks ago, and it could have been three months ago.
26:47So six weeks is like my bogey on something that didn't happen in the past week. Fair. So remember I had that breakfast and I wore the merch? Yep. That was the original Cisco's. Yeah, that's by my house. Okay, so they have a Cisco's at the golf course. It fits, like, I want to create a list, if I use social media, it'd be good, of, like, you know, of truly classic Austin establishments. It's like Don's Depot and D. Betty is bars. The number one breakfast, like, classic establishment in Austin, to me, is Cisco's. What's the word? I'm not using the right word. Quintessential? Diner-esque? No, like that just represents...
Read the full transcript
27:37That represents the city of Austin. Like a classic. A quintessential Austin restaurant. Okay. That's not the word I'm looking for, but I'll go with that. Quintessential, it works for this, but that's not what I'm looking for. Quintessential is an adjective that means representing the most perfect, typical, or purest example of a thing. To me, ski shores is so Austin. I would say in that 10 out of 10 times, I would say quintessential. Yeah. You used the word quintessential. So quintessential Austin establishments. Okay. All right. Yep. If I create a list of them, whether it's steakhouse, like Driscoll Grill is the steakhouse for me.
28:24Even though it's... Your top picks? No, it's like Terry Black's barbecue.
28:33What restaurant best embodies the city? Quintessential. Quintessential. That's also a good word for that, yeah. So Cisco's on the east side does that. Now they have this pop-up truck, which I've never been to. It's not a truck. It's not a truck. It's not? Nope. It is a counter-style, very Caddyshack-esque. Okay. It's cool. It's cool. I'm excited to try it out. Okay. So on that note, Webster's has put some new words in the dictionary and we need to review them. I don't know if they are yet. All right. So dictionary, Miriam's Miriam Webster dictionary added 1395 new words. Jeez. Of those words. That's a lot of words.
29:21Okay. So what did they add this year? They added superfood. Love it. Love it. It's like, wow, surprised it took them so long to add superfood to the dictionary, right? Makes a lot of sense, yeah. But you would have thought maybe that'd be, or, okay, I didn't know that we did an annual update. So maybe it takes a long time. They need to see mass adoption. Okay. So what's another word they added this year? Looksmaxing. Yes. Looksmaxing? Yeah, looksmaxing. What is that? When you're looksmaxing. Like you look great? No, you're like maximizing your looks. How do you spell that? L-O-O-K-S-M-A-X-X-I-N-G?
30:01They added vibe coding. They added cuffing season. What? And crash out. The standards. Miriam. Miriam. Miriam. I think that's the biggest point here. It's called Miriam. It's not called Celeste. Like, the name is Miriam Webster. We need... Have some standards. The slang... Come on. The internet slang... That lives in another world. Miriam Webster to me is not an edgy book. Well, they just want to be hip with the times, I guess. I mean, they're keeping it alive. Are we like the old boomers on complaining about this? I'm not complaining. I'm fascinated. I'm fine with it. Don't you need to know the definition of looks maxing if someone says it?
30:46And what better source than Miriam Webster's dictionary? But growing up, we had all these, we used all this slang. And none of that slang made it in. Well, you don't know that it did or did it. Give me an example. You didn't host a podcast then that reported to the Merriam-Webster's Updated. Like, name a word. What did you guys used to say, you and the boys? Okay, let me think of one. Slick.
31:18How good is chat, GBT? Can they give us some... What year did you graduate? High school. 2007. 2007. What were some slang words in 2007? We'll see. Okay, brunk.
31:36Brunk is the word we would use for working out. Well, that didn't make it down here. You asked for a word, there's a word.
31:52I don't like it. What? How are you spelling brunk? B-R-U-N-K. I just don't think that that means anything.
32:02This is what it says. Just like the front trunk on an electric car is a frunk. No, we're talking brunking. Are you a brunker? Yeah, I think that that was a you thing. Yeah, I think that maybe just didn't make it clear. Oh, it was maybe a hockey term? Mm. Did we get some words that were said around that age or no? Yes. You did? Okay, cool. Oh, pwned. What's that mean? Pwned, like getting owned. Like getting owned. Jules. But did pwned make it into the dictionary? I haven't seen that word in so long. You heard that word? Pwned? Yeah, pwned. That's a great one. Let's bring it back. There we go. Did pwned make it into the dictionary?
32:40Okay, that's what I know. What's pwned? I guess here's my point. Like I owned you? Here's what I need from Miriam's dictionary, from Miriam's Webster's dictionary. I need a word to have sat in existence for more than three years before we put it in. Pwned is in the dictionary. Boom. To thoroughly dominate, defeat, or compromise someone. Pwned. I just pwned that. Well, I'm going to use that. No, just pwned you. Pwned you. I owned you. And then if you'd like to know how it's spelled. I would. It's P-W-N-E-D. Would have never gotten that right. There's no O. No O. Would have never gotten that right.
33:16It's in the Merriam-Webster. Okay, so Miriam was my grandma's name, which is why I think I'm viewing this as a classic person. Like, I'm just imagining telling my grandma we're going to add looks maxing into the dictionary. This is my other question, though. Do you not know who Clav is? No. Do you know who Clav is? I know who Clav is. It's Clav. Clavicular. Clav is, I would say, the internet sensation of 2026 for... For looks maxers. for a very specific part of the internet. Okay. But his... He's garnered such attention in the most love it or hate it way. He's probably the most polarizing person on the internet in 2026.
34:00Is that fair to say? Sure. Do people like him? I mean, I guess some people do, some people don't. Well, some people love him, some people hate him. And his whole shtick is about, like, looking amazing as a guy. And so... I love that for him. Mmm. No, we don't. In a very womanizing way. Oh, we do not love that. This is tough for me to say because I've seen nothing. Here's my question. So, yeah. Well, I have a question. Yeah. We'll keep going on, Clave. Is that it? Yeah. He's a live streamer. He's a live streamer. And he gives one of the things he does is he like rates your, what are they called?
34:41He does these like reviews of people to their face. Girls or boys? Boys. everyone oh does he do what he goes to so what are you you guys are you guys are i'm not getting that we love him i'm just on like yeah i'm on anti-clav yeah yeah okay okay so okay for you page so i'm just wondering though when miriam webster adopts a word into the dictionary do they let apple know so apple can then stop underlining it red i would assume and and does apple then be able to like help you predictive text like that's the word you're looking for i would think autocorrect could get looks maxing you think so yeah i wonder if it could get pwned i just i imagined me having a hard time spelling that yeah i just wonder if apple runs their own dictionary if there there's an api plugin it's the same thing with microsoft though like if you're typing on word i don't know if that was the right but sorry i it's the same thing with microsoft when you're typing on words is it going to know looks maxing so they've also added sunday scaries
35:43I agree. Are these words going to stand the test of time? I don't know. I need words to stand the test of time. That's my point. This is hilarious. Pwned did not autocorrect. Looks maxing has. So it's not up to date yet. That is hilarious. Pwned? Let me just send it. No problem. So it did... But that makes sense. Is they just... Pwned was already in it. Yeah. Looks maxing. They just announced this. so apple hasn't had time to update yet correct interesting you guys know harrison and i love doing things differently so when it comes to teaching your kids about money someday i already know we're not doing it the traditional way that's why i love what cash app is doing cash app now offers managed accounts for kids age 6 to 12 with no hidden fees no minimum balance requirements plus something no other kids financial app offers one account your child will never outgrow their savings habits and history carry forward from a parent managed account at six years old to a teen account at 13 to a full account at 18.

Okay. On us learning the words of the week, you know, collective effervescence, is one and now pwned is two but what was last week they couldn't remember it i wanted to use it in a sentence and i didn't know the word to use it in the sentence do you remember the context no do you do you why can't we remember guys if any of you remember can you please tell us what our word was yeah i don't remember this week it's pwned but collective of every essence reminds me of High Rocks and our girl that defecated has now apologized.
38:27So what was her name? Maybe we leave her name out of it. Sure. She's got enough scrutiny. I saw her comments were off. Well, they're not off on the apology post, but so here's my - She did taunt. Like, it's not like she did it, stayed quiet and then did an apology. she did it uploaded a story with a cheeky caption that she took down and then came out with the apology so we do need to no no no people are calling that out it's the most liked comment which is like this is a PR comment because if you were sorry you would apologize right away so I saw the cheeky thing where she won she won the race and she was so proud that she won the race and lots to be proud of very tough competition no because here's the thing to me that is a selfish is a very tough word there but the more i've thought about it the more it's like okay great for you but everybody else who's also trying to get a good time maybe you're there trying to um set your pr your personal record you're now having to deal with equipment being tainted it's gonna smell like you've ruined everybody else's experience 100 yeah that's where i I think this whole thing's very off base.
39:48I just think, great for you, but what about everybody else? But in Hyrox's defense, so one, they've come out and they've changed the rules, but two, the CEO of Hyrox, he came out and he took accountability for it, and he said, it's my job to predict the different scenarios that may happen, and I failed to predict this one, and so we're going to now put the pieces in place to prevent matters like this from happening again. And so, like, it's a newer sport. It's a newer thing. There's, like, you just got to applaud their... I think the way they handled it was really good. Wait, wait, wait, sorry.
40:31I think the way that High Rocks handled it was great. Yeah. Because I understand you're writing the rule book and you don't think someone's gonna poop and keep going. I get that. But then in defense of this girl, Like while I'm a full, I'm in full, um, give me a word. Give me, no, not agreement. Alignment. I'm, uh, pushing the rhetoric. It's a perpetuator. It is rhetoric. Just so you know. While I'm a firm believer that high rock should be a poop-free sport. Okay. I'm an advocator of poop-free high rocks. Advocate. An advocate. in her defense this is something that like as Jules said happens in marathon so like what was she supposed to do pull herself out of the race it was on high rocks to pull her out of the race so I just think when you're running a marathon I assume what goes through your head is I'm outside and once I mean are any marathons laps So do you touch the same place twice?
41:40Sometimes. Okay. Not the majors. Yeah. Okay. So I think that has a lot to do with it. And I think being outside has the most to do with it. The fact that in high rocks you use a sled push, then somebody else comes behind you and uses the sled push. But that's like, I'm totally with you, but it's on them to take her out. Of the race. Like she's locked in, she's in a zone. She doesn't know like those photos are not good. She doesn't know how bad the photos look Yeah, okay, you know what I'm all for human people grace and so yes I think she knew that she was covered in poop. I don't know. I don't know you know what maybe I don't think it's in your friend Okay, let's I think it's in your back.
42:28Let's give her the benefit of the doubt. I agree with that I just think I do wish the initial response from her it just The video of her finishing felt very like, I PR'd, I did it. Oh, I didn't see it. It was just very like, what about everybody else? I can't believe I'm defending her. No, no, no. I think that it's very nice that you are. I'm actually, I'm down for you to defend her. But I'm not defending the cheeky post. I don't know how cheeky it was, but I did see it. What I'm defending is... She said a win is a win. Yeah. Well, what about the second place that had to smell your poop? I'm just, that's where I'm gonna defend everybody else.
43:01And that's where I need to bring my full take on this. My full take on the minute she poops, she should have been pulled from the race. And I put the accountability of her not being pulled on the race on High Rocks much more than her. Because you're an athlete and you're in the zone. But this is where I think it's interesting. I think the public court of opinion is putting a little more accountability on her. They're saying, yeah, High Rocks should definitely pull her out. But like, human to human, are we serious? We were going to keep going. I think that's where people's mind go. And that's why I'm happy we're not saying her name.
43:31Let's leave her out of it. Let's just talk about the idea of this happening because I'm sure she's now mortified because people are going so, I mean, you know how the internet is. They're going so hard on it. But it's like, my take is just like, yeah. I think people are giving her threats. That's ridiculous. Completely offside and ridiculous. Chill out, we're just talking. Like that in general is absurd to me. But I do think like, you poop, it's gonna affect everybody else's race.
44:07Can I have Harrison defend a comment? Yes. Yes. I think High Rocks is cool. Someone in the comments called it adult PE class. I've called it adult PE class. Oh, really? Oh, yeah. We agree. Okay. 100%. It's what it is. Okay. Did you have to do, I don't know, in Canada, but like the presidential, what was it called? Presidential race? Yes. And it was blue and red. There was this thing that we had to do in grade school, Harrison, where you would like - There was just different elements. Like you had to do sit-ups. You had to do the sit and reach. Yeah. Where you can see how far you could - We had the beep test.
44:46What's that? You have to run from one end of the gym to another before the beep. So beep one, you have to cross before beep two hits and then it gets faster and faster and faster. This was the presidential fitness exam. They stopped doing it in 2012. Why did they stop doing it? It was too competitive and they wanted to focus on something more health focused, which I support. That was a little scarring for people that weren't as athletic. Well, what was it? I don't remember. I think I remember the sit and reach because I was good at that because I could dance. You had to run a mile. A mile? Yeah, we had to run a mile.
45:24I was always the slowest. Me too, I can't run miles. You had to do a certain number of sit-ups in a minute. it and would you get a blue or a red badge i wouldn't i can't remember i believe you got a blue or red badge you would a presidential physical fitness award yeah it was blue yeah yeah yeah yeah but like then what did they replace this with so they wanted if they felt this wasn't good and they removed it then if you're going to remove it what did you replace it with it was replaced with the presidential youth fitness program with a focus on health rather than on competitive ranking. Oh, I'm fine with that.
46:04But let's hear what their place to it. And you had personal goals. There's still five core exercises, but you had personal goals as compared to being ranked against other kids. I like that. That's much more inclusive. I'm actually very for that. I just wanted to make sure they didn't get rid of it as a whole because I do think the principle of it stood for something good, which is just like be active yeah understand how you know things you could do um okay so what what why did we get there presidential race to bring it all together had she known how bad adult pe class had she known how bad the poop thing was she should have pulled her she should have put she should have let me be clear she should have pulled herself out of the race she should have but it wasn't her job to do it that's my point it was not her job to do it, correct.
46:57And then secondarily, we're gonna give her a pass because she did apologize eventually. Although some people are saying that it's a PR apology and she only did it because people were really going after her. But I do think that she still did it. So we're gonna move on from it. And the last thing I'm gonna say, I'm gonna completely put my foot, I'm gonna put my foot in my mouth here. I do think she should be suspended for, like, I think she should get a one to three race suspension. Okay. So now that I say that and I think that, then that clearly is putting more accountability on her than I was before.
47:41I don't know why between High Rocks and her, I'm putting more accountability on her. I just am. Yeah, I like that. Sometimes it's the airline, sometimes it's the passenger. This one for me is the passenger. Flip-flop Fugman over here. That's okay. Flip-flop Fugman. Hey, we're all for it. I think she should be suspended for between one to three races. I just think you... And so that means that how I truly feel is there was real accountability on her. What do you feel about her sponsor pulling her line? What? Do you the line? She was a sponsored athlete. And she had a line with a fitness brand. And they pulled it.
48:20So I actually, that doesn't, I actually don't like that. And like, I may need to, he's so on it. This is the opportunity of opportunity for dude wipes. Yeah. This is the opportunity of opportunity for dude wipes. And we are now a dude wipes family. So dude wipes have become a big moment, especially with potty training. Like dude wipes for potty training are, well, dude wipes when you're a kid, because I guess we're in a ponytail. Dude wipes for when your kid starts going to the bathroom by themselves are a game changer. And the dude wipes guy, yeah. So, sorry, I don't love that her line got pulled.
49:03Yeah, it's ridiculous. Line never should have been pulled. Line never should have been pulled. We're talking a one-to-three match suspension would have been my call. Because here's the thing that people need to realize. Number one, everyone is now talking about high rocks, which is good for high rocks, okay? number two this athlete whether she all press is good press she needs she'll come back from this it's it's a blessing for her though because if if you have a sponsor that's gonna pull over that they would have pulled over anything yeah so she'll get another sponsor probably a better sponsor yeah she's got to keep her head high and keep going but like right now yeah people are mad at her but that's okay she's got it she's got to be resilient we're gonna see what she's made of yeah um i don't like that the sponsor pulled but i hope she gets a better one but i think she should be suspended and i think she needs to take a lot of accountability because you cannot be pooping and running everybody else's experience but i'm still cheering for this i'm still cheering for this athlete go do your thing but like yep we've seen a lot of athletes make a lot of missteps you've seen a lot of athletes make a lot of worse i feel like i've bought every body product that promised to change my skin and most of them just end up back in the cabinet you guys so the fact that I've been using one every single day since I was pregnant says everything.
50:15It's the Undaria Algae Body Oil from Osea and it goes on right when I get out of the shower while I'm still a little damp. You guys, I'm actually obsessed with this stuff and it absorbs almost immediately so I'm not standing around waiting to put clothes on and it is never greasy. The citrus scent alone is worth it, you guys. It genuinely feels like liquid gold and my skin feels better after one use. It's clinically shown to deeply moisturize and instantly improve your look of elasticity, which you guys after pregnancy, I noticed, and it's become one of those two minutes in the day that is actually mine.
50:46And it is the best thing ever. The whole line is powered by Undaria seaweed that's hand harvested from the sea and soaked in barrels of botanical oils. You guys, it's rich, but it's still lightweight. So you get that silky glowing finish without feeling like you're wearing anything and they've been doing the same clean clinically tested skincare from the sea for 30 years and that's why it works it's nothing trendy it's nothing over promised it just does this one thing you guys and it's one product and I never ever ever skip it and I've been obsessed with it because sometimes lotion can be greasy and this is not so go to oseamalibu.com and get 10 % off your first order with code 2parents that's oseamalibu.com code 2parents I just want to touch really quickly on high rocks being adult pe class so yes jules we call it uh what is it intramural sports like it's the it's the intramural sports but here's what my thing is like if like i'm i love this obsession for harrison because number one it's so fun for him and the guys to do number two like yeah i'm all for you doing an hour and 13 minutes of like intense What would you rather me be doing, like playing dodgeball or rec baseball or softball?
52:02No, no, I love it though. If this is what we're obsessed with, I'm good with it. Here's what I love about it. The most important part of it for me. One, the event, the way it's put on is very, very, very high quality. But two, it is standardized. So the thing I hate about rec league sports or beer league sports, whatever you call them, is they're not standardized. You don't know how good you are. Here, you compare my time to the time of someone in London, to the time of someone in Oklahoma City, to the time of someone in Vancouver. Like, it is standardized, and that's what I love. Yeah, I'm all for it.
52:38Size me up. But I'm all for, like, if this is what we're going to love, I'm all for it. Like, this is, it only perpetuates a healthy lifestyle, which, like, it's just, it is the presidential fitness test for adults. 100 % is, Jules. And the fact that they were already doing so well, like they sold for$699 million, that was before this happened. $697. $697. I think they're going to explode even more after this, which I actually don't want them to explode anymore. I loved the size of it. Okay. Moving on to, let's discuss what's happening in LSU. Or you take it away here. Now we're going to go to football.
53:21Yeah, we had two college football topics. I feel like this pod only has space for one college football topic. So you pick. Do we agree? Yes. Okay. So here's what I want to do. All right. The Athletic did a deep dive research piece predicting what each college football play, what each college football team paid their players. Okay. Okay. Pays their players. Yes. And is this from NIL money from boosters? Yeah. So total payments to players. Okay. We're just going to pull it up.
54:05So what the total roster payments to the players are in college football. So here are my questions. What team do you think pays their players the most? Total? Yes I would think UT would be high, but I'm gonna say USC
54:29Jules well, I have it Ohio State estimated budget 49 to 54 million dollars Geez so that means boosters are giving them that money because none of this comes from the school, right? So I was just trying to guess this is something that like I I actually need to own a blind spot here on, yes, this is all, this would, I guess, this is all, I would assume this is all NIL money. Can we confirm that? Yeah. Because what I was trying to do is guess who I would think has the wealthiest alumni base. Yes. Which is why I did USC. So this was good. I don't know why I didn't double tap into what this number was.
55:09But then you have to have those alumni willing to spend on the football program, which Ohio State does actually make a lot of sense. I'm sure USC is like, no, dude, you guys figure it out.
55:24It says their annual name, image, and likeness roster budgets. Yeah, so that's NIL. Name, image, likeness. Okay. Okay. So Ohio State won. Can you... So Texas is three. Wow, who's two? Any guess on who two is? Give us left, middle, or right of the country. this so this one at face value you wouldn't get you never get it's on the west coast you would never think them until you realize that they are located with a in the head right by the headquarters organ yes nike very smart okay now the question for you where do you think Oklahoma ranks?
56:1611. This is very good news for Oklahoma. This shows Oklahoma's being very smart with their money. Okay, good. Oklahoma ranks 21st. Okay. And Oklahoma is consistently ranked well above 21st. Okay, good. Good, good. Yeah. Because I think the big way to look at this is, alright, Texas is 3. They should be ranked 3. We should be ranked 3 or better. Yeah. The most inefficient spender on here to me is probably Auburn or Nebraska. Spending a lot, not doing very good. Yeah, both those football teams seem to stink. And the last one, the most surprising big spender on the list, I would go as far as saying...
57:10Actually, none of the top ten are that surprising. It's Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, LSU, A &M, Miami, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Tennessee. Ohio State's the number one most surprising thing to me. I agree. The number one. I just, I never, I wouldn't have thought they'd be in the top ten. Ohio State? Yeah. What? I think a skew. Where's the money from? Yeah, who's the big donor there? Like, when you tell me A &M is a top five team. Oh, that's going to be agriculture money. Like, you know that that is... Like, there is real oil money there. So who's... In ag. And when Indiana is top 15, it's like, well, Cuban has been a pretty large...
57:49Like, quite closely linked to that program. Lex Wessner. Who's that? Oh. Al Brands. Yeah. Well, that's why I made that face too. Okay. What face? He's the one that was very closely tied to Jeffrey Epstein. But he's L Brands, um, Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body, that's based, like... But he, so he's, he's footing the football team bill? Major individual and family donors, Lex Wessner, the Schotts... Oh, I should know how to pronounce this. Is it the Schottenstein family? What do they do? I don't know, but I think there's something named after them there. Okay. Okay. The Shoemaker and the Trott families?
58:34I don't know, the only name I knew off of this is Lex Wessner. but that like makes sense columbus is like a pop in place i'm not saying it's not a pop in place with lots of people with lots of money and i get there's a lot of successful people from there that's not the point the point is like it's not only but that's the thing it's not that there's a lot of it's not that there's a it i think that this nil money takes a very special potent thing i think a &m is a good example of it you have to have a lot of money and they have to be willing to spend it on football. How much do you think Lex Wessner gave to OSU football?
59:08Let's hear it. Guess. $20 million. No, I think... $700 million. $7.9 billion? Okay. How much money is he worth? So I guess that's the point, is if you don't have all those dynamics working for you, it doesn't really matter if you have one mega donor. Yeah. Who is willing to spend it on football? Yeah. All right, let's do a bicker of the week. Does that sound like fun? Okay. So the bath mats in your bathroom, are outside shoes allowed on those or not? They're absolutely not. I cannot believe that you wear your shoes. What a bait and switch. We're having a little issue in our household, you know, since we've moved in.
59:53Harrison gets his outside shoes. Listen, I tried to ban outside shoes in the bedroom on any type of carpet. That didn't work. So then I said, all right, let's just not wear them on the bath mat. Can we give me that? And you know what? This morning he trekked his little shoes on the bath mat and I drove him out of the room. I said, get out of here, H. We need to move your sink. No. So we have the his and her sinks. Hers is on the right side. Mine's on the left side. Hers is in front of the bath mat. If you move, if you take the left sink, then we don't have a problem. Harrison, exactly. Mine is in front of the bath mat, and yet I never step on it.
1:00:34No, because you're there. You're in position. Do you have a bath mat that stays out at all times? Yes. Ooh, Jules, did I just win this? No. Should the bath mat not stay out at all times? Maybe that's the bicker of the week. Should we pick up our bath mat when we're not taking a shower? What? I have, like, a real mildew, like... I hate mildew, like, more than anything in the world. So I use bath mats that are more like a towel material that it's just like a one and done. Oh. And then that way there's no mildew. You one and done your bath mats? Maybe two and done, but yeah. That's fine. If that's her thing, I'm all for it.
1:01:12It's like the texture of like a thick hand towel. They're from Amazon. They're cheap. I love them. You just pop it down and then when you're done, you throw it in the washer. Now that the seasons are changing and activities are starting up, our days have turned into a whirlwind of drop off, pick up play dates, dance, and gymnastics for Tate. And the last thing I want to do at the end of all of that is worry about dinner. And that's where Hungry Root comes in. This week, it was a sheet pan situation again, which we loved. Everything goes in one pan, into the oven, and boom, we're done. We don't have to think about it anymore.
1:01:48And there's no stack of dishes waiting for me afterwards. But here's what actually makes Hungry Root different. It's not just a meal kit. It's the convenience of the meal kit with a variety of the whole grocery store. Real ingredients, ready-to-go items, and brands you already love all in one delivery. Over 1 ,000 items, so the variety never gets old. And they screen out over 200 additives like high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, and preservatives. The quality standard just doesn't slip. And the longer you use it, the smarter it gets. It learns what you like. It adapts to what your family actually eats.
1:02:20And it keeps showing up with stuff that I'm genuinely excited about, you guys. Tate is still deep in her solely fruit jerky era and I cannot be trusted around the good crisps. I cannot recommend those enough, you guys. So you're going to love Hungry Root as much as I do. For a limited time, get 40 % off your first order plus get a free item in every box for life. 1:02:57Let's go to what we're watching. I would like to, so Harrison was gone Sunday night through Wednesday. And every night I lit a candle. I put the kids to bed. I lit a candle. I showered. I got in bed with my pajamas. And I've been bricking my phone. I've been bricking my phone for like over 12 hours a day, which has been lovely. and I watched The Parent Trap and then I watched the Lizzie McGuire movie and I hadn't seen either of those two movies in such a long time they were so much fun to watch The Parent Trap is a Nancy Meyers movie I didn't know that that's why it's so beautiful because Nancy Meyers movies are always so beautiful so that's what I'm watching I'm on the classics train
1:03:43Cinderella Story 51st Dates those are some I'm starting to think of you know that they're making another Parent Trap with lindsay yes did you know that bubber was asked to be in the movie what actually
1:04:04maybe what by who
1:04:11by who
1:04:16joke what a weird joke you're such a dork i just can't believe that you somehow thought that that happened i was trying to play a little joke on jewels i didn't know if like somebody asked you and you just said no and then moved on with life and like never reported it no bubba was not asked to be in parent trap okay okay so um
1:04:43what are you watching they just make two well i just i have something are we are we are we wrapping down this episode yeah we are okay okay so the gentleman season two is out very good show uh it is what i would say a dark comedy. Okay. About drug trade. Hilarious. It is by Guy Ritchie. He's done something else. He's done a lot of great stuff. And it's, yeah, it's super entertaining. I'm loving season two. Do you have any friends named Guy? My grade 10 basketball coach was named Guy De Silva. Okay. Okay. Big thing for us, we won the Junior Provincial Championships in grade 10. Huge. Congrats. JPC is big.
1:05:35Should we celebrate tonight? We got rings. Yeah. Yeah.
1:05:44The next time somebody says you guys celebrating anything special, like if we're out at a restaurant, we got to just start saying that. In 2005, we're at JPC05. Big underdog story. we were ranked like 14 coming into the tournament yeah we had this guy on our team named Chris Barrett he was so good he was so good we're celebrating yeah for sure it was a big moment for us it was big oh great that's so funny I had a big shot in the finals we'll tell the way to the whole story see if he can bring us out a cake with a candle at the end. Yeah. Oh. I didn't start for that team. I was 16. Terrible. John Lintner started, yeah.
1:06:38Terrible. He got the fourth spot. And Guy was your coach? Guy was the coach. We ran small ball. What's that? We ran like four guards. I actually don't care. One big man. Brent Clancy was a big man. Huge to know. Big boy, yeah. Okay. That's so exciting. Congratulations. A couple years delayed there. So you're watching The Guardian. the gentleman i've lost it i think we're gonna wrap thank you guys for listening thank you for listening we love you i'm i'm crying um and we will talk to you monday have a great weekend we ran a 131 full court press that was the big part of it oh thank god thanks for listening to another episode of two parents if you enjoyed the show don't forget to subscribe, like, comment, rate, and review.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Friday!! TATE IS OFFICIALLY TWO 🥹 (can you guys believe it?!) We recap the whole thing: the pancake breakfast, the revolving door of neighbors and family, and Alex stepping up for an emergency cake bake after a flight delay. As always, this is just our experience.. but here are a few "tips" if you have a toddler birthday coming up!! 1) Even if your kid "won't remember it," they still feel the JOY.. a day of your kid feeling extra loved is ALWAYS worth the extra effort. 2) Doctoring a box cake WORKS: yellow cake + pudding + OJ, coconut milk icing.. gluten and dairy free, and there was NONE left. 3) The balloon farm: buy the helium tank, order the animal balloons, and blow them up together the night before (it's like Christmas Eve 2.0).
Oh, and Tate got a CAR (thank you Harrison's parents hahaha)
Before all that: a pool update featuring Harrison's confession about the lawn chairs, and a question for the group: does anyone's neighborhood have a "share program" for tools and yard equipment?? Our street is PRIMED for a communal lawn mower and we need to know if this exists.
Then some fun stuff: is a self-driving MINIVAN the ultimate mom car?! (someone is going to make a lot of money on this). Our favorite quintessential (is that the word??) Austin restaurants (comment yours, we're building the list!), and Merriam-Webster added almost 1,400 new words: “looksmaxxing” is officially a word, and Harrison has feelings about this… Then a POOP-GATE update: we’ve renamed Harrison “Flip Flop Fugman”, iykyk. Plus we co-sign the comment that HYROX is just adult PE class (LOL)… then in college football corner: The Athletic shared what every team pays its players, and it’s different than we thought???
We close with the Bicker of the Week (are outside shoes allowed on the bath mat?! + Jules's mildew-proof solution that might end the fight), and what we're watching: Alex is on the classics train (Parent Trap, Lizzie McGuire) and Harrison finally finished The Gentlemen.
Hope everyone has a great weekend :-) LOVE YOU GUYS!
