In short

Tesla’s RoboTaxi launch in Austin and the broader “Uber vs autonomous taxis” debate; then family travel recaps (U.S. Open, JFK airport line-cutting drama, High Rocks fitness event); finally, pediatricians piercing children’s ears and where to get it done.

Guests/backgrounds

Two parents in a podcast (two hosts). No other guests appear in the transcript. One host is a parent of Tate; the other discusses Harrison and a group of friends/parents. They also mention working with Bobby (infant feeding support) and other sponsors.

Key claims

  • RoboTaxi experience: app is simple; two wide front seats; no steering wheel; butterfly doors; lots of leg room; trunk access; Tesla vertically integrates tech vs Waymo’s integration into other automakers.
  • Pricing: RoboTaxi not always cheaper than Uber/Lyft; may be situational (surge moments).
  • Uber response: Financial Times report says Uber is lobbying NJ drivers union to keep 85% human-operated; framed as protecting jobs during transition.
  • AI job impact: Economist chart claims 1M+ jobs created since 2023 vs ~200k lost.
  • Ear piercing: pediatricians may offer sterile in-office piercing; commenters debate mall kiosks vs piercing/tattoo parlors (needle vs gun).

Notable examples

  • Austin: they saw multiple RoboTaxis within 9–12 blocks.
  • Airport: JFK security line “cutting” via a rope gap; express boarding used appropriately by one woman; fights and TSA indifference.
  • U.S. Open: described as easy for casual fans with multiple courts, food, and activations; crowd felt “too quiet.”
  • High Rocks: spectator experience with “collective effervescence”; Harrison and friends hit personal goals.
  • Ear piercing: pediatric office quoted at $85; advice to avoid Claire’s; needle preferred over piercing guns.

0:00Am I gonna hate my hair? yes no i gotta say my hair hold on my hair am i gonna eat my hair i think you look phenomenal my hair last episode was how did no one say anything so your hair always looks the same to me it was like couldn't believe it how am i today it's great okay ready welcome back to another episode of Two parents in a podcast. We took a robo-taxi here. Yeah. It was awesome. Did it have a back windshield? No, it is literally two chairs. It reminds me. In a gold, the back windshield is like matted, like you can't see out of it. Yeah. So it reminds me a lot of Back to the Future and like the branding of Back to the Future.

0:55and you know how it feels like so often brands today feel the same like remember we had that like clean millennial aesthetic call it that started like eight ten years ago with casper mattresses and outdoor voices and uh and that kind of like laundry list of direct-to-consumer brands okay this just feels like it is the opposite end of the spectrum like super aggressive graffiti style text gold cars um yeah they are what they are doing from a branding perspective is is like nothing else that i'm seeing and in market at at um at scale and they have so what what is so cool about it is yeah i agree let's talk about the product not the brand yeah okay okay give us the rundown please so you call it on the on the robo taxi app yes which is just skyrocketed towards the top of the app store let's discuss the the um decision they did to put the word taxi in there i love it because it's telling you it's a robot and it's a taxi combined yes great great verbiage but do we want to talk about the experience first.

2:15Yes. So you do the, so you get on the RoboTaxi app, which has the app. User friendly? Yep. Very, very, very clean, simple user interface. And it, boom, it shows up. And the best part, I think the most exciting part, butterfly doors. Oh. Butterfly doors. I don't know how they decided on that, how they landed on that. Genius. Yeah. So then you get in, it's very clean. It's just two seats. Yeah. That's it. So only a front seat, no back seat. Oh. Yes. So, Seats, very wide. Very comfortable. Very comfortable. A lot of leg room. Yep. That was a standout. I sent that feedback to Tesla. It asked me if I wanted to tell them.

2:52No steering wheel as well. Very important. Just two seats. And are these everywhere or where are these? So here's the thing. They launched in Austin last week. And now the whole big kind of thing that we're seeing online is like the robo-taxi takeover. And so I don't think there are any other markets yet. I think Austin was market one. But like on the way here, we took nine, it's like call it nine to 12 blocks to get here. We saw three robo taxis. So they are everywhere in Austin. So hold on. Do these jump a Waymo? Like is Waymo just like out of business now? No. So there's a lot of different debates going on.

3:37Waymo is they were obviously first to market at scale and I think that the feedback on the service obviously people get mad at Waymo's but I think largely it's been a really good user experience but the core difference between Waymo and Tesla is Waymo is technology integrated into someone else's vehicle Jaguar Tesla's their own technology integrated into their own car so Tesla's vertically integrated and Waymo taps into taps into the automakers does that make sense? yep it does so it'll be interesting to see how this affects Waymo I was just going to say aren't they running kind of like the early uber playbook of like they're cheap so that is one of the myths i wanted to spell oh okay because i saw something online and it showed like a 30 uber trip and a four dollar robo taxi trip today our trip here was um it was more expensive on robo taxi i took screenshots to share so what I did is I took it from like to I just took I took it from our house to Studio 3 and RoboTaxi was around 12 bucks and I looked at Uber and Lyft and UberX was like six bucks and the premium the premier one which is probably more similar to RoboTaxi that was like nine ten bucks so it's slightly below but yeah so I think that you're going to see it very situational I think that where you're probably going to see it cheaper is during surge moments um but actually i don't know because you think robo will remain consistent i was gonna say that but i actually i don't know if that's how they're operated so kind of taken back of it so this is this is all over my new my timeline right where are we going to start seeing them they're obviously in austin but where else i I don't know.

5:55But there's a massive debate on my timeline right now versus on the – it's this whole like Uber versus Tesla debate. Is this – how much is this on your guys' radar at all? Literally zero. Zero. Well, they're just – the robotaxis are in my face like on the street. And what do we think about them? I think they're great. I don't – like I don't ride chair so I don't care. Okay. But I – do you know where Waymo to me is just like it's a little intrusive? They got these little things. they're always stuck in the street first of all. Number two, they have all those little sensors on all sides. It's very techno body happening where these Robo taxis, while they're gold, they just kind of like do their own thing and zip around.

6:40It was a very good experience. Okay, good. So what's going on with Uber wanting to stop the expansion of Robo taxis? Yeah, so this to me is super interesting. So you're starting to see people at a very extreme end of the spectrum saying like, are RoboTaxi's the end of Uber? Okay. Because – and this goes back to something I talked about a long time – a few episodes ago where I talked about Uber's original founder, Travis Kalnick, how he was a visionary around autonomous vehicles. That's where he wanted to invest the company's dollars. ultimately that clearly didn't play out or it's probably fair to say didn't play out in the way that he would have liked it to have and so now uber sitting there and um a company just launched that in theory could cut them out of the market eventually yes because you're ordering the RoboTaxi on the RoboTaxi app and not on the Uber app.

7:43And so the question is like, what does Uber's future look like? And so on one end, you have people saying, well, this is the end of Uber. They're being disintermediated. On the other end, you have people saying, no, no, no. Uber's value is only going to go up because they're going to be, because autonomous vehicles are eventually going to be largely commoditized. So you're going to have Tesla, you're going to have Waymo, you're going to have Zooks and a whole bunch of others, and you're going to need a marketplace to aggregate all of them. And they're saying that would be the Uber app. So you're going to go on the Uber app and you're going to see the three to four different options.

8:22And Uber has this very valuable network of users that will be hard to displace. So you're saying Uber would have to buy or interface with them in some capacity to get them on their app. I think everyone would agree to that, but Elon. I don't think Elon would ever be like, yeah, we'll put RoboTaxi on the... Just from what I know about him, I don't see him going on to another app. He seems to keep everything Tesla, SpaceX. Like he stays, as you call it, vertically integrated. It's a really, really good point. And, you know, even reflected in Tesla owning their own dealerships. Yeah, he's not ever...

9:01I've never seen him be like, I need you. But he's also a phenomenal businessman. And so if that's inherently what's going to make the most sense for RoboTax, I don't think he'd cut his nose off to spite his face if that's the saying you want to go with. But I want to go back to – you were going to say something. Well, I know a lot of people feel different ways about Elon and I understand that. But I do think one thing that we cannot dispute is he is one of the greatest minds of our generation. Yes, he's – yeah, I wouldn't say it any other way. But I want to go back to your previous question on what Uber is doing here, which is fascinating.

9:40And I think this spurs the debate. So the Financial Times reported that Uber is lobbying with the New Jersey Drivers Union to keep 85 % of the cars on the road operated by humans. Okay. So what they're saying is that, and what they're implying is that Uber is working to slow down the rollout of autonomous vehicles, of autonomous taxis. Very interesting because back in the day, I'm sure Uber and these taxi drivers had a big clash. Yes. If you remember Uber and the whole fights and disputes with the New York taxis and the crash of the medallion prices, do you remember this? New York taxi medallions were worth a million plus bucks and those prices got plummeted and they were rolling into cities.

10:39And they kind of encaptured that move fast, break rules, startup mindset better than – they were almost the poster child of that. And so now they're on the other end of the spectrum. It's cool that we've gotten to live through the rise. And this is not the fall of Uber. I'm not even going to use those words. But the rise and then the first kind of contender. Yeah, I actually, when I first saw the headline, like Uber lobbying to slow the rollout of autonomous vehicles, I was like, what are these guys doing? I didn't kind of sit right with me. And then as I thought about it, I'm actually very supportive of it.

11:24Okay, why? Why? Because I think over the medium to long term, more jobs will be created around the whole AI ecosystem. But I think if not managed the right way in the short run, the job placement can be drastic. And so if they're doing – I do think – I think they're doing this for a couple different reasons. But I do think one of the core reasons they're doing this is to protect jobs during this transition, which I think is a good thing. Protecting driver jobs until new jobs are created. Yes. And they're – like one of the really cool things about Robotaxi's website, if you go to it, is they are calling out where the jobs are going to be created.

12:09And you can go and sign up around them. Love that. So they're like, all right, are you interested in getting into fleet ownership where you could buy a robo-taxi and operate that robo-taxi and you get paid for it? Are you interested in supporting infrastructure, parking, cleaning, and so on and so forth? So the jobs will be created. The Economist just put out a chart that said since 2023, over a million jobs have been created by AI. I believe 300 ,000 plus minus blue collar, 700 ,000 plus minus white collar. that and that is against i believe the 200 000 jobs lost to ai so net net we are seeing um a lot of job growth due due to due to this technology and we're talking hvac we're talking commercial construction electrical contractors yeah in a wide range of areas so but but we need to be smart about the transition.

13:21Is this boring? I'm ranting. Well, let's do the TLDR. Okay. So basically a lot of people say that AI gets rid of jobs, but what, what the economist has reported is the U S has added over 1 million new jobs due to AI since 2023. That's really cool. Yes. That off that's, and that's offsetting the loss of the 200 ,000. Yes. But we also, that's a good stat. It's a happy stat, but we're at a, in a slippery slope where these things need to be managed the right way and if they're not managed the right way they can lead to tremendous um job loss and that's where i do believe in the right forms of intervention government intervention over the right periods of time totally i have two things yeah do you think they're gold as a nod to yellow taxis didn't think about that jules great call love it love it that was like i just saw a picture of one and they don't look so gold in real life i will say i agree they look copper they look tan Okay.

14:18I agree, disagree. But on the screen, I'm like, whoa, that looks like a modern taxi. My other question is like, what is the experience just so much better? Like why are we taking them if they're not less expensive? So over time, I think the assumption is they will be significantly less expensive because a huge cost of the process gets removed in the driver, right? The big controversial thing here um it is a really really really good experience like i loved sitting in the front just like it was an it was a nice it was a really nice user experience it's just the two of you that you just get you just roll in that's it okay i know it's nice to say hi to people and i always say hi to my uber driver but it's also nice to not i mean both are true you know it was early and it was really clean and you just something about being there's something about being in the front and just being right there with this giant windshield that was pretty cool.

15:18Yeah, there's a lot of space. Like there's a ton of space, even though it's a smaller vehicle. Is there a trunk? Yep. Have you had a suitcase? Yep. I give you the option to open the trunk. Huh. But it is remarkable how much anger these things spew. Like we were getting in the car and I don't know if you got this on video, but like we got an all-time aggressive honk from the person behind us as we were getting in. and it was like we were maybe taking 10 seconds to get into this thing and this person was not having it oh okay guys if you are ever looking for a new screen free activity i have one for you you guys know i love like love playing with tate but sometimes you need something that she can sit with for a bit while you make dinner or answer an email that's why i'm glad i discovered yodo a screen free audio player for kids age 3 to 12 that brings stories music learning and imagination together in one simple device.

Thank you, Yodo, for sponsoring this episode. um all right we're gonna we're gonna segue okay we went to the u.s open we just got back last night um we're gonna discuss all the things around it so number one this morning like we came back early we were supposed to come back tonight and we came back last night and it was worth it and let me tell you why it was worth it because tate got in bed with us this morning she said mama hand and she held my hand it's a data hand and she held his hand and then she put our hands together and i was like i would i would have sat on the tarmac for seven hours for that it's phenomenal it was also just like it's like wait like when did you kind of like learn this like the whole bringing them together oh i just love her i've seen her she holds hands of course but for all the time she's gotten in our bed and cuddled she's never asked for her hands no but i even this morning when we went downstairs then we were playing with her farm she she's got her animals down pat now cow moo yeah like we've got we we've a horse nay like she's got them all down and it's just been i was like oh well i do think it is cool when you have someone like because my mom was with her for those three days my like she's gonna she told me uh when we went to the coffee shop this morning that that they spent like the past three days just talking about um farm animals oh good yeah and so it is fun how like when she spends time with different family members and different people.

18:35Those people want to talk to her about things that naturally, like we just may not be discussing. And so she picks up all these new things. Okay. But we do do farm animals. We do do farm animals, but I know she, and obviously because of the book, but I'm sure she just like did it in a different way. Of course. Cause she had them down. Like I've been very focused on colors. Yeah. That's really cute that your mom was talking to it. Like we just spent the past three days talking about farm animals. Bubber loves a repetition. Like she's not afraid to review that the horse says nay seven to ten times like we we are not afraid to just one more and do it again and do it again yeah and then one one more time yeah so it's pretty cute um so just phenomenal to be home today like i cannot express it enough um we had though the craziest story at the airport so we were at jfk american it's always a mess and we know that we were in line Okay.

19:29And it was an all time tense moment at the airport. It was a zoo. The lines were long and they weren't moving. So everyone's already starting. Tensions are high. We saw two guys box up towards each other. And one was like, if you want to go, we can go. And I was just like, oh, this is how high the tensions are. I wanted to step in because that guy was the guy who fronted. He was also a bad actor. I know he was a bad actor. He cut. He cut. No, but he cut and he got caught the second time he got caught. He cut. did you see his first cut yes the one with the wife or not the one with the wife was in the right okay but let's take it all back so that way we give all the color okay so we're in the line and you have those guard rails with the black straps right that they're like the fence but they're not called a fence you know at the airport yeah the little ropes yes the little ropes yes i just i want to make sure one thing gets touched on so i'm going to jump in So you have the ropes and for whatever reason, there was like a four foot problem one.

20:30There was a four foot like gap in the ropes. And so people like we were probably in the line for like 20 minutes and then there was this gap. And some people, if you checked in, you could kind of just like walk in this gap. It did. It was not not an entrance. Like it's not an entrance, but I do see how you could walk up to it. Like one guy, for example, one guy walked up to it and Harrison said, Hey man, the line's back there. And he was like, he was like, I'm priority. And Harrison was like, this does look very confusing, but we are all in the line and you do have to go back there. And the guy was like, Oh my bad, man.

21:06Like, thanks for telling me. And he went to the back. I looked at Harrison and I was like, I would just never say that. But like, I am glad you did because you said it in a really nice way. I only said it to him because he was our age. And if it was like someone that I thought, you know, needed the accelerated, I would not have said a word if it was a family it was a single guy like that guy he was not cutting no no it's good but the reason why i'm sharing that there was this hole is because that was the first creator of tension is you'd be 15 to 20 minutes in line there's this little hole and you're just watching people like dripping and every like three minutes someone was just dripping in this this little this little gap in in the line intentions are high in this line yes and every line in this airport they were high so this one guy right when we get up to the gap this guy tall guy he comes and he's in his leather jacket his airmaze shoes he's got his louis vuitton little roller not that it matters i'm just painting a picture he walks up and he steps right in front of us he lifts he he undoes it so i'm not even talking about the five foot gap we're now past that gap he walks to the as far as you can go lifts it up and walks in and harrison's like no man like Harrison just kind of like steps in front of him and he's like no man we're not doing cutting today and he's like oh he won't this is what I this is what's weird he wouldn't even make eye contact with us and he's like no I'm meeting somebody up there and he points up there and he starts to walk around everybody and we're like okay he's meeting somebody he he walks the line and I watched him until he gets in front of someone who's not paying attention it's this guy and he's just like on his phone kind of like moseying up in the line clearly at the airport three hours early and the guy just steps right in front of him and stands in line in front of him because he didn't notice like he wasn't going to meet anybody he walked up to like be the number seven person in line after after we were probably in the security line for 45 minutes and he just slid right in and every and you can see some people are like looking around and we're making eye contact with people i wanted to say something and we're just like did that just happen and no one said anything no one said anything can we rewind to the fact that you can't go meet someone in line regardless well that thank you jules i initially that's when i texted immediately and i'm like topic for the combo you can't go meet somebody no in the security line so i was like who's he meeting is it his wife is it maybe it's his 12 year old daughter i'll allow that and then i'm like he that's when it my brain exploded i want to i want to dive into this so worse is the The verdict coming here, what this guy did was ridiculous.

23:41So I think we're all on board with this. It was 10 out of 10 offside. To me, the number one rule, if you are going to skip the security line, you need to communicate with every single person in line why you are skipping and the timing. so if it's 6 20 and you started boarding at 6 0 5 and you say hey we started boarding 15 minutes ago and you have your phone up showing it go right ahead but that's so i'm i'm fully supportive of that if you are truly running late communicate it to the to the parties and but the individuals have the right to say no in this scenario because every that's the thing about airports everyone also just started boarding like a lot of people are running late so you do have to know people reserve the right to say no man i'm sorry we're also yes i will always say yes i'll always always always say yes to that what drives me nuts is when you're just cutting and not saying anything and being blatantly misleading so another girl beside us we were like she's gonna cut us and she walked up and she was like i'm telling you this line hold on i gotta i gotta add the color so there's like the line that goes to the to the checkpoint to the tsa but then they just had another um it's a big jfk issue in general yeah they had another like rope and so you could kind of just like go another way and so there's just all this cutting happening i know exactly the spot you're talking about it's unbelievable it's all right when we got that i was like harrison this This is always this bad.

25:16It was unbelievable. So she walks up and we're both first, but she's in a fake line and we're in the real line. Uh-huh. And Harrison was like, I'm going to have to tell her like she's got to get in the back of the line. And she just looked at us and she was like, I have express boarding. This is the express boarding line. My flight is boarding and it was boarding in two minutes. She pulled it up. She was like young. And we were just like, go ahead. All you have to do. We probably would have let the guy cut us if he just would have explained, I'm boarding in five minutes. Okay, go ahead. Because we had a ton of cushion.

25:51And our flight was only getting delayed, delayed, delayed. So to her, we said, go ahead. Thank you for all you have to do in this line is just tell us. Yeah. Then we get up to security.

26:04Humanity needed to step it up in this security line. These two guys, they go at it. One girl says the wife of one guy was like, he pushed me. They go get the TSA agent. It was a mess on top of messes. I couldn't believe how when... So the husband went to the agent and said that the guy pushed his wife. The agent just didn't care. He was like, no, man, not today. Look, I thought that that guy was going to get escorted out. That... No, they were like, and he, he, that guy came through a third, a third part of the line. Cut. There was just all these different entrances. And he was like, I'm so sorry, but I have to cut the entire line.

26:51And I was like, do you know how many people in this line are going to miss their flight? Yeah. Like you, and here, here's the other thing. When this was happening though, it was really hard to get bins. And so I told Harrison, I have to offset all this bad, bad energy. And I went and got a bunch of bins for people. And I said, here's all your bins. Please pass them back. Cause we need, it's too tense. It was too tense in the line. I did not know what to do. People were just. It was. But. Like the people behind us cut in through that little five foot gap. I probably gave them six minutes of dirty looks.

27:28I knew I wasn't going to be allowed to say something. And even though they were behind us, I was just so mad at them. For all the people behind them. No, listen, I agree. I agree. And I just think talking in this situation goes a long way. I'm going to – I desperately need to get in front of you. Because otherwise, if you don't explain it to people, then that's when tensions rise. And the intensity in this line was a 10 out of 10. And it's because the line was so long and people were cutting it. Yeah. And like they see one person cut. That gives them permission. Yeah. And I don't know what the karma is to that guy.

27:59I was thinking about it. I was going to tell him. I think his flight gets delayed. I think that that's – No. That's too much – no. His is a personal karma. it's not going to affect everyone on the plane good call yeah i don't know what it is like maybe he had a first class ticket and sometimes i've only seen this one time but that seats out of commission because the seatbelt doesn't doesn't buckle i don't know i just i wanted to tell him hey man karma's coming to you i saw that little move you did there and i don't want to be standing near you when it hits you alex did a very nice thing when we were landing in dc which was she asked the guy on the window to raise the window for me it took everything in me i was i was i was uh hate texting jules is that the word rage texting i was rage texting jules he was not happy with my response what'd you say he said he said why does no one open the windows i said the plane's gonna do what the plane's gonna do regardless of if the window's open or not that's a good response we had and i just need one response i need one within the six of me open there was nothing open.

29:01It was a very dark flight. I was livid. So I just said to him, I just said, hey, he gets a little anxious when we land. Do you mind opening it? He's like, I don't care. Great. He was great, this guy. It's like, I would love to open it. He's from London. Great accent. It's such a, like a non-event, like to open the window, it's no problem, but like, it's not going to make a difference. Right. Right. We're going, if we're not landing, we're not landing. I've never, ever, ever felt more strongly against something than what you just said. Well, no, honey, Jules is right. Whether you can see out or not, nothing's changing.

29:35No, I agree with that, but I need to see where we are. Well, yeah. You just like hit the ground on it. Like, bubber. Just like, ah, didn't see it coming. Okay, if you're on a weight loss journey or you've been curious about GLP-1s but are not totally sure, you guys have got to hear about this next sponsor, Veracity. Allie Egan, Veracity's founder, CEO, and certified hormonal health coach, struggled for years with undiagnosed Hashimoto's, which is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid. She was desperate for answers, and she finally found functional medicine, which actually went after the root cause instead of just the symptoms.

30:16She turned her metabolic health around, and she is now Hashimoto's free and a mom of two, which is incredible. That story turned into Metabolism Ignite, which is an all-natural way to slim down, get energized, and sharpen your focus, and is the number one doctor-recommended GLP-1 booster and GLP-1 alternative. It's a blend of lemon verbena and hibiscus extracts, green coffee beans extract, and magnesium. Drug-free, no side effects, no allergens, and has sold out 10 times, you guys. And that's why this is so cool, because it's clinically proven and doctor-formulated, but it isn't something that comes with a warning label that makes you nervous.

30:56veracity exists so people actually have access to the holistic option it's just two capsules in the morning so learn from ally and make the switch to veracity head to veracity health.co and use code two parents for up to 65 off your order once again that's v-e-r-a-c-i-t-y health.co for up to 65 off and make sure you use our promo code two parents so they know we sent you um Okay, so let's talk about the U.S. Open for a second. Okay. Like, not actually a ton to report there. Besides, I had never been. Logistically, that sporting event is so easy. Like, there was no massive line to get in. The Uber drop-off is a lovely distance from the stadium, I thought.

31:42Did you think? Yeah. The U.S. Open is the best sporting event in the world for a casual sports fan. Yeah. that's because there's so much to do that's how i would i would just describe it is it's just as much about the activities around like the activities in the stadium as it is um like no i actually want to say this a little i want to just describe it to those okay there's a lot happening first of all the tennis that we got to watch was phenomenal like that stadium is amazing. The outfits were amazing. And like we saw, we watched two matches and it was very fun to watch. So the way it works is you have the main stadium, Arthur Ashe, you have the secondary stadium, Louis Armstrong, and then you have a whole bunch of other courts.

32:36So at any given time, there's, you know, five to 10 matches going on. Okay. One that you need a ticket to, but everything else you can just walk into. All right. I'm getting a face. I didn't know that. Yeah. Then you have a bunch of restaurants throughout the grounds, a bunch of bars throughout the grounds, and a bunch of like cool little activations and stores on the grounds. Like Polo, for example, had a bunch of tennis branded stuff that you could go in. Lulu had the same thing. Nike had the same thing. And they all have stores there. And it's like US Open gear. So it's like a little, it's a tennis village.

33:10So it's cool. So unlike when you go to an NFL game and you're just there to watch that one, those two teams play this is much more about like the bigger broader experience tennis experience like we walked in and we went to the right and it was the junior u.s open and you're right there you are right beside the players it's cool so it's it's that's why i say it's it's the best sporting experience in the world for a casual fan because like you just get to check out a bunch of different types of tennis and also enjoy um you know enjoy really good food and drinks and um and energy and everyone dresses up and it's it's a really cool event it was an awesome awesome event and there was so we got this email because there was some backlash to influencers because i think what happened what i understand was one there was a lot of ring lights which they've since banned and number two when during points it's dead silent i think what must have happened is someone's tick must have like had a tick tock noise go off i believe that there was a group of influencers filming a tick tock trend during during play yeah i mean that sucks because that's like definitely definitely definitely not reading the room and not the right thing to do so i think that but i'll say this our um atmosphere and our crowd for the whole stadium was awesome it was dead silent there was no phone nothing like that going on to the point that the girl that played her the one that won arnia what's her name sebalenka yeah she said afterwards like you guys were a great very respectful crowd so we we were among people that i thought were doing an amazing job i think we needed more rowdiness in the crowd we had two americans playing we had two americans playing and i just i don't think we got the home court experience like we when you're an american at the u.s open like collective effervescence comes into play we use that word a lot by the way and i just you know moving like the influencer stuff on the side i agree it's ridiculous don't be bringing a ring light to that stuff don't be uh you know filming a tiktok trend during play on the other end in general let's let's jack like let's create some home some home court advantage for the americans and we just that didn't exist some guys were trying to start some tommy paul chance but they weren't they weren't taking off they weren't catching on but is that like i've just i've not been to a tennis match but that's like between when they're playing all i know is that you have to be quiet yes but like ben like ben shelton's a good example of and i we we he was the the the evening match and we were there there for the day games like he pulls the crowd into it he like makes the crowd make noise he's like going like this like make noise i don't understand He's, this guy is the best.

36:01Do you know this guy? No, I mean, I know who he is, yes. And I wanted to see him play. Can we check if he won? A little more electricity. Because he'll be, he'll be must watch TV if he keeps advancing. And the tennis world gets mad at him all the time. Why? Because he, like, he's a, he believes in, you know, momentum and gamesmanship and. And they want him to be more respectful. I assume so. Yes, he won yesterday. Amazing. What's he ranked? Eight, I think. Okay. Yeah, eight. Good looking kid too. He's playing tomorrow in the quarterfinal against number two. Against Alcaraz. Yes. Who we watched.

36:48Who we watched and who's phenomenal. But the way to beat Alcaraz, I think would be to get in his head. Alcaraz was very good. So I hope the crowd goes bananas tomorrow. I want to go back and watch that. Can we take Bubber and Rocketman? Oh, my goodness. Do you think it's just one of those things, though, where like people – well, no. A lot of people there, I'm sure, are huge, huge, huge tennis fans. But I do feel like a passive sports fan. Like everyone I knew when I was living in New York was like going to the U.S. Open. And people don't know how to act. So they're like, I'm going to default to being quiet.

37:21No, but that – and then that's how it is until an American is playing. An American goes on a run. and that's where you're just like all the rules kind of get thrown off the table they were not thrown off the table yesterday it was yeah it was too quiet well i enjoyed it like great event for not 10 out of 10 event don't i'm just saying from the dynamic of we saw both americans get whooped in straight sets got whooped we did we did see that we did that but the tennis was good like and that taylor townsend she started to make a bit of a run and we went with my okay so my manager bought a suite and then they invited a bunch of their creators and that's how we went and it was so fun to meet a the manager side very fun to meet them and then i got to meet a bunch of other creators that are at my same firm and that was really fun it was fun really good time yeah it was it was just an awesome time we were like to be to go to the u.s open in a suite i was like this is cool i'm dead i'm this was amazing it was really fun um the people need to hear about the chicken nuggets okay yes yes yes the chicken nuggets so it was six pieces i posted on our story did you see that hannah got eight yes yes that's why i had to follow up and say there i don't know why she got eight okay the the guy in front of me gets the box okay and they got so these boxes are pre-made like they're setting they're sitting out they're already made it's a very fast line oh same thing with the honey deuces they're making them and they're just, they only sell honey deuces at these places.

38:50You just pay for yours. You take them and you walk off. Okay. So the guy ahead of me gets this box and the girl, the guy's like, you know, it'll be a hundred dollars. And he's like, no, no, no, dude, you got to go get me a warm one. Cause some of the boxes had been sitting out and I was like, Oh, and the girl beside him was like, yeah, for that price, you need a warm one. And so then the guy, then the whole energy in the back shifts and they're all like, you know what? We do need to be giving out warm nuggets with these boxes. So they started making some fresh ones. So then I went up next. And I was like, okay, I'm also going to want a warm one.

39:20And the guy that was working the cash register, he was awesome. He was like, nope, from now on, they're all warm. The left side's going to be warm. The right's not because it's got the caviar on it. And they were like down for the, they were in for the bit. So we go, we sit and we eat it. It's, it's, it's very hard to rank this. Okay. Because like you need more nuggets than six. That's the problem. You need eight to 10 nuggets because you get a good amount of caviar. But what I'll say about this is the The crunch of the nugget, it's like it's too salt. It's salt on top of salt. And it's a wet salt on top of a dry salt.

39:52So you get the crunch and then you get the moisture of the caviar. It was delicious. And are you not doing the creme fraiche? No. I did the creme fraiche. And I feel like that is a big mess. I got to jump in a little bit here.

40:10Obviously, 100 bucks ridiculous for a dish like this. So moving past that.

40:18the quality of the chicken nugget was phenomenal. Well, they're telling you on the box. It's like - It was phenomenal. It was so well fried. Some good braised chicken. Like they got all these stats. So to only go, to only give six, it's, I hate to say it's, it's just, yeah, it's unforgivable. Like if they did call it 12, I wouldn't, I would have said the same thing at eight. if they do 12 then at least like you're getting full off of it so to take the less expensive thing and under deliver on that it just it that to me was the big miss of the mark i thought it was so tasty though it was very the box was a good experience too it was a well-made box what everyone was telling us online is you guys got to go to i think it's cocodoc cocodoc the actual restaurant you guys got to go the next time you're in new york i didn't know I would love to.

41:15We, it was a Saturday night option for us. It's the same owners as Coat, I believe. And Coat is one of my favorite all-time food experiences. They do the Black Rock frying, right? They do the, it's like the elevated Korean barbecue. Yeah. Phenomenal. But what's that face? I just realized that I think that I had a reservation here the last time I was in New York and we didn't go. Oh. Where's it at? Where in New York? I think in like Midtown-ish. Well, what's your tab at this place? Like how much are these dishes there? No, I think it's like a fried chicken place. Oh, and they don't do caviar. I'm sure they do.

41:56No, no, no, they do. It's like elevated fried chicken. Okay. We went for Italian instead. We did Don Angie's. Yum. It was very good. We sat at the bar. Oh, fun. I couldn't believe we could get in. Yeah, that's what I was going to ask. It was Saturday. We walked up. We were like, can we do 730? She was like, yeah, at the bar. And we were like - Did you go there at four? yeah for we're in the area so you got to do and we and i was like okay i wanted that lasagna so bad because now the next thing we need to discuss it was post race post high rocks oh my gosh yeah yeah so harrison thanks for asking how much no we're not running this again jules already asked no she didn't um okay so yeah harrison ran his race you the four boys they crushed it harrison beat his previous time which was the goal yeah um i did 113 my goal was to be 115 yeah so he hit his goal and then the other three were doing it for the first time and their goals they all hit their goal everyone i was so proud and the word collective collective effervescence was in the room we had two we had that at the u.s open and at high rocks i gotta say this from the viewer experience of high rocks i've i had a blast i had so much fun because you when they're doing this the sled pushes or the running you can get right there and talk to them like i facetimed emma and put her phone right there and she was talking to jeff fun like you're it's a it's a really cool viewer experience yeah and they just don't cut the corners on um on the course so like they've got the you know led screens and everything is mapped out with brand sponsors and like it makes as a you know as a bunch of dads they make you feel like a professional athlete oh you start and the smoke goes off and the people are cheering like it's the race is half of it it's a really good like it's a really good like whatever setup layout structure structure yeah i'm buying on the exact word i'm looking for but the other half is everything else so the way it works just so we're clear because i i never really understood till i saw in person you run two laps you do exercise one you run two more you do exercise two you run two more you do three all the way up until exercise what nine eight eight eight exercises eight runs so i was following harrison as he was going like he did the farmer's carry then we were doing the burpees then we were doing the sled pushes and i was following as we went and then we all we went all the way to the finish line.

44:35And it was like, I was like, I just had a blast. Fun. Like I had the viewer, the spectator experience, so fun. But I did go to buy a sweatshirt. And the girl said, I've just never understood how people lift with nails. And I was like, oh, I'm just a spectator. But thank you for thinking I could do this. Were you ever going to do one? I initially, when I first got there, I was like, this is so cool. I will do one. And then I watched you guys do those burpees. And you kept doing the burpees. Like you weren't stopping. and I was like, I just literally won't do it. I can't do it. I could do it. I don't want to do it.

45:09It was a lot. Yeah, I love it. I'm addicted. I think what I'm most, I'm happy that everyone else got to experience. I'm also happy that the other three guys, we didn't train together and I'm happy that all three, like what became very clear as we got to the race, like all three took it very, all four of us took it very seriously. Where? Like everyone trained very hard for it. And when we got there, everyone like shared what they were doing and yeah i think it's a great i think of all four you know three have kids under a year the fourth you know also has two kids so we prioritized our physical health when there's a lot of stuff going on what is what's cool about the high rocks is for a marathon day two things are different number one it could be three to four hours of your day Number two, you only see the person one time when they run by you.

46:05What I loved about this is it's like Harrison was an hour and 13 minutes. That's how long it took. Like that's not that long. And when he's training, he's not gone all day training. Like he just trains for an hour. So he just does it in the middle of the day. And it's like not that disruptive, but it's still really fun for you guys to get in shape and challenge yourself and see how fast to do the exercise. So I'm like all in on this high rocks thing. Cool. and I thought it was cool that you said to your friends, let's fly to D.C., go to buy the ticket, let's fly to D.C., let's stay in the hotel, and they showed up, they did it.

46:36Everyone was a participant, and it was really awesome. Jules, guess what we, should we disclose? The birthday plans? Yeah, there's ironically a High Rocks in Vegas. High Rocks Vegas, March 12th. Wow. Can you believe? Birthday party. Exactly, so we're going to do a High Rocks for that. I would do that one if you wanted me to. I don't want to. I would much rather be a spectator. You should do the couples one. No, but the problem with this couples one is I need to shed the running. That's my problem is I can't run long distance. Even when you do the group one, they still make you run the same amount.

47:10Rocky is almost five months old. And breastfeeding this time around has been such a different experience than it was with Tate. A huge reason for that, you guys, is Bobby. Just knowing I could supplement whenever I needed to took so much pressure off and feeding felt a lot less overwhelming than it did the first time around, you guys. That's really why I love working with Bobby. They meet moms wherever they are, which is a lot of different ways, right? Whether that's combo feeding, exclusively formula feeding, or just having something on hand for the moments when you need a little extra support.

47:43For example, I took the expert-led combo feeding class that walks you through how to supplement while still protecting your milk supply, which is so valuable when you're already learning everything as you go and on the go, you guys. It's like there's no time for you to learn anything. And so you have these expert-led classes and then you get all the information in one spot. And in terms of the formula, I love that they sweat every detail so we don't have to. Every batch goes through 2 ,000 safety and quality checks plus third-party testing for heavy metals before it leaves their US facility. All of their formulas are modeled after breast milk and made with certified organic, non-GMO, pesticide-free ingredients so you can feel really good about what's in the bottle.

48:22If you want to feed with confidence too, head to highbobbie.com. That's highbobbie.com, B-O-B-B-I-E, to find the resources you need. And if you choose, the formula trusted by parents and loved by their babies, one million and counting. Well, I think we can move on. We did the High Rock. We talked about US Open. Thank you so much for coming and supporting. It was - I made a sign? No way. It was very motivating having you there. It was very motivating having you there. I'm going to step, thank you. That was so, that's nice of you to say. I'm going to step my sign game up though. I didn't realize we were doing signs.

48:53And like when I know we're doing signs, I can really get, I can get on the signage. I've just been thinking this whole time. I can't believe we didn't talk about marathon spectating with the collective effervescence. Like the Chicago marathon. That's the definition. Like the definition. Collective effervescence. Totally. I actually thought that that was so obvious. I didn't need to say it. I just didn't think about it until someone just said marathon right now. Oh, Jules, come on. You got like a marathon runner in your group text, don't you? I love to marathon spectate. It's one of my favorite hobbies.

49:29It's funny. While it's a great hobby, it's a great hobby for the event, but not for the person that you're cheering on because you see the person that you're cheering on for such a short amount of time. Yeah, but like Chicago, for example. Yeah. It's like you maximize. I'm seeing people four times. And also we would have two to four friends running at any single time. So you'd really have to plan it out. You're sprinting to try and see someone at the next one. It's fun. That's how I like it, Jules. I like that with you. Okay, but this is Jules versus everyone else. Right. Jules is a with it kind of gal.

50:10That's the Chicago marathon though. Most people, they don't even see the person they're there to see. It's that part. Well, that's lame. Yeah, you got to do your job. It is hard. It is hard. Because you say, all right, I'm going to meet you on - You know what's harder? What? Running the marathon. Five. Can I say five sure and you understand what I'm saying? Yeah. Okay. I've been really like dying to say it. Well, like I've never actually heard someone say it out loud, but I say it all the time on text. I say it in my head all the time. Five sure. Like totally. Okay. Moving on to piercing your children's ears.

50:41Because we have some things in the comments and I have just never even heard of this. But the question was like, when do you pierce your kid's ear? What's the age? Turns out some pediatricians pierce ears in their office. Yeah. Offering a sterile and safe alternative to the mall kiosks. Had no idea. And it's like a lot of people in these comments. And it sounds like my baby's pediatric office did it for$85. I don't know why pediatricians are piercing ears. It doesn't seem like something that would be super important, but I'm not sure. Great. What a nice little additive. I have no view on this.

51:13What people were saying alternatively to the pediatrician's office is like when you do go to get Tate's ear pierced, just like don't go to Claire's. Go to a tattoo parlor. Okay. And what I was thinking that or a piercing parlor because they use the needle rather than the gun and the gun's like a little – the gun can be bad. Why? So like you guys know I have thousand ear piercings. Like when I first got my cartilage pierced, I went and got my cartilage pierced with a gun. like that can shatter your cartilage and just like just that's bad news interesting you're supposed to only like in 2026 i believe you're supposed to only go get your piercings from a tattoo parlor and where they can stick the big needle in and it's much safer safer and more sterile very apparent trap of them sure this is my new decision on taking her ears pierced okay If we took her right now, it would only hurt her.

52:09She would cry and she would not understand that we're doing it for her to get her ear pierced. I totally agree with this. I'm down for the day that she wants her ear pierced. She thinks it looks pretty. Then when I say, okay, it's going to hurt, she's like, great. She understands what the pain is for. That's what we said last episode. I just have worked that out in my head more. Yeah. That to me makes so much sense. She can come to us and when she wants her ear pierced, happy. Happy to do it. The key is having older siblings or cousins because I got my ears pierced when I was three, but my cousin's like three years older than me.

52:40And it was her time to go get her ears pierced. And I just got to tag along. But I got that on like a cell phone, ear piercings. Any number of things I got early because I have older siblings and older cousins. Okay. And then so you just got to do them quicker. Yeah. Yeah. Tate will be paving the way on that. Her siblings. Yeah. Speaking of siblings and paving the way, on our flight back from New York last night, I saw you watching the new Alex Earl documentary. Reality show. Yes, reality show. I am. I'm watching Earl Meets World. Earl Meets World. Okay. Give us the rundown. Okay. Fascinating.

53:22So I like the show. I know nothing. So you got to simplify it. Okay. So she does touch on a lot of things that we already saw happen. The Real Active's launch. okay um the tom brady hookup she confirms that okay in a very funny way um i'm trying to think what else the breakup with braxton like that's the opening scene she's going to move out of his apartment or his house and like she's crying and so it's a lot of things that we already saw happen but they give you a more front row seat at and i enjoyed that what i think is more funny not funny more interesting is the dad okay you get you get a front seat into the way that they operate her as a business and the way that he is their manager both ashton and alex and he's the only guy on the planet that could raise this daughter he's um are people calling him like a kind of a yeah yeah and ask he and and he just there's one scene where alex is like i'm under a lot of pressure.

54:27Like I'm 25 years old. I see my friends going out and like, I just want to do that with them. And he's like, yeah, yep. Like he pushes those girls and I almost think he wanted this for them. And he's very like, so they all go to Aspen together, which we saw. And you see Braxton was also an Aspen when they were there. The dad beelines over, talks to him, like parties with Braxton a little, like, and he's very much like girls get your content. Like there's no put your phone's up it's more so like get your phones out like he's very he's all he's all for this whole thing that they're doing interesting and he's he's like you know you can get a good house here in la and they go look at houses and i mean they're just looking at 8 000 square foot house like he likes that that the daughters are doing what they're doing and what was his deal beforehand construct uh he and he trucking he runs a and he says it's a it's a highly regarded or it's first and there was some very interesting wording he was a successful guy correct yeah yes he's a very successful guy on his own regard yeah and then his daughter started making money and he was like i can manage that and so he manages both of those but like at one point he calls sally her friend who was running her snapchat okay and he's like hey the numbers are really down here like what's going on so he's looking at their facebook numbers their snapchat numbers their amazon storefront numbers and alex is raking it in in all of those areas so i have two questions I feel like that her content is very much an IRL reality show.

56:02Yep. So what is the viewer experience watching stuff that you already know happened? First, I feel like with a lot of other reality shows, Summer House being a great example, like you're learning what's going on as you're watching the show. Like the Tom Brady hookup you learn about when you're watching Summer House versus the Tom Brady hookup with Alex Earl you already knew about beforehand. Yeah. So. Jules is shaking her head. I just I don't think that's accurate anymore. Like I think all reality TV we pretty much know what happens beforehand besides like The Bachelor and Bachelorette and like Love Island and stuff like that.

56:46Right where they don't tell you the ending. Any like housewives and you know what's going on because of social media because these people are now social media content creators as well. Well, that's a bad question. It's me not being in the know. So what they've done though on this is they've completed the circle. Like you see her get ready with me and she's like, I'm going out tonight. And you know the outfit she's wearing. But what you see with this is you see her struggling that Ashton gets to live in New York and be friends with her friends. but Alex is like Alex really struggles with like she doesn't get to be with her best friends all the time because she's working more than everybody and so you see like her really just like out at the bar being like I'm missing out on all this time with my friends right now in this really fun time of our life yeah and that's the stuff you don't get you don't see her so much sorry you see her down in bed being like Alex is fucking crying again over Braxton on TikTok talk like that's kind of his energy okay um he's alex and the dad are the same ashton and the mom are the same yeah so i was okay the mom's emotional she's sweet is this a situation how many siblings are there well there's two out so they talk about this too i mean the mom and the dad Alyssa is her name Alyssa and TJ were married and they have Ashton and Alex yeah TJ has an affair with Ashley and it was public and then has three more kids now and he's still married to her and they talk about it all do you know who Ashley Dupree is absolutely not oh should I yeah like I mean there was a large scandal around her with like the governor of New York before this she was an escort wasn't she yeah hold on i'm so confused so there's two kids so there's alex and ashton ashton and they have their same mom and dad yep and the same dad that's in the show yep okay then the this dad goes and has three other kids he has an affair with ashley dupree okay ends up marrying ashley okay who was an escort okay now they have three kids together okay and they appear to be happily married and they talk about how she wasn't she was like yeah that's my past and i've talked to my kids about it he didn't go and get back no no he married the escort okay now i got very confused there and they this is the other thing you see ashley so you see her spending time with both with both families not only that honey they take family vacations with all of them with all three yes and the moms the moms get along sort of like the mom's very Alex's real mom says when it was really tough at the beginning but I respect her as a mother and she's with my kids a lot and I respect that about her and they mutually respect each other and so is Alex's mom married to someone new?

59:44She's dating Todd. Okay. Todd. Hello Todd. And then You need all these characters. The parents are a big part of the show. And then the other siblings they're young. They're young but they're online. How young? correct me here 11 9 11 and 13 i think so you know this is this a situation where these like are they going to go the social media route like they're the next kylie and kendall they're going the social media route right now and they're talking about that and that's yes and ashley's saying like how do we feel about this and tj the dad of course just like it's good till it's not we'll handle that when it gets there if it gets too much for them then we'll handle it okay interesting interesting interesting interesting so they're not doing the no social media till 16 no they are not doing that okay but i'll tell you this what i like about all these people right now did you watch the soapy okay those girls the the sisters the young ones they're not little shits like i i like they're funny they're silly they're really really silly so i'm enjoying watching it because you're not like oh my gosh what a brat you're like oh they're funny like they're playing with dinosaurs and like they're coloring and they're making one loves to make sourdough bread like they're they're quirky they're funny so here's my here's my takeaway this sounds like perfect reality tv i'm in i loved it yeah like there's so much going on right here that this this feels like we're gonna get a season two this storyline would be so bad if the parents didn't exist the fact and alex argues with the stepmom the stepmom posted a tick tock alex didn't like it they like getting a little argument over it they end up apologizing like there's a stepmom ashley she's got the show on her back tj he's also really good like there's a lot to i i enjoyed it okay okay i i do not think i'll be watching and until there's like something that happens to make me watch but the problem with something happening right now oh it was really funny brax okay so alex was facetiming her dad and braxton called braxton's not doing anything with the show so alex answers and she's like i'm filming and he hangs up so alex calls her dad back and her dad's like what braxton want to talk about tom it's so i like laughed out loud at that point the dad is um a character yeah not afraid i'll put it that way i'm afraid i mean he married the escort like he's very and he's just like yeah i wish i handled that better like it's very all right well he's a dadager though because he's like he he also said that his ex-wife he's like she should have gone on the golden bachelorette when we broke up like he's just always thinking who can go where i was just gonna mention we we've we're um this is coming from the comments from just a couple people but i'll i'll bring it you guys I should get into Dancing with the Stars.

1:02:46Now, okay. And how are you going to get into Dancing with the Stars? Who's on Dancing with the Stars this season? Craig? Sierra. Oh. My concern is I, like, now football season is happening. I just, like. Well, we're watching the Cowboys documentary on the plane. Yeah. The pair for our ride. I Yeah I'm really happy With my choice On the Cowboys right now I just I don't think I have a lot of time Did I see Dolly Parton In that? She They didn't talk about her But they showed a clip Of her singing Aww Like I didn't know anything About the Cowboys history And I learned All the Cowboys history Okay cool Yeah Yeah We're fans We're big fans So no time for Dancing with the Stars This season Well what day What night of the week Is it on?

1:03:37Tuesday nights Oh we have dance That's tough What time? Seven in central that's that we can do that do i can i get behind potentially no i loved when we watched in the city we saw jesse out of dinner and it's very fun to see him um he just he's so nice yeah he's so nice um but no i think i liked when we watched like the first time harris we gotta put up a picture of the dish that we got at dinner did you upload it well not to everyone Yeah, you got to put it up. We went to this place called Oresh, okay? Which was good. Yeah, it was good. We ordered this tuna dish. They brought it out. It looked like a p***.

1:04:20It's unbelievable. Oh, I saw it on your close friend. We just - I'm going to just text it to you guys now. I don't know if we can put that in the video. I don't want to get demonetized. I don't think you're going to get demonetized. It's just tuna. It's tuna. You got to put it up. It's unbelievable. It's not a provocative restaurant. It was a really good dish, but it was like wow like i there's a an out like you know the energy was flowing alex everything was great i wasn't like in a detail-oriented mood and and the dishes on the table and alex just like looks at me she's like am i crazy like am i crazy no because then i went to the bathroom when jesse was coming out of the bathroom and he's like what have you guys gotten so far and i was like the tuna and he was like yeah and i said ours looked like a p***o so So did ours.

1:05:07So it must have just been the way that this fish was. I mean, it's uncanny. I was just like, oh. With the picture, we'll tell it all. Like it was. You weren't stretching. Like there was no stretch. I don't have that kind of brain. Like I don't, I don't. I, in fact, I'll take it as far as saying. It's like a nice restaurant. I hate potty mouth and potty club. Like potty comedy is like not my thing. Like I get if you're at like the box and you order, you know, chicken nuggets and they the chicken nuggets came out looking like sure funny but this was like not the it's funny um okay that's kind of like the skinny on all that yeah on everything i would say um we love you guys happy labor day and we'll talk to you on wednesday have a great start to your week thank you for listening thanks for listening to another episode of two parents if you enjoyed the show don't forget to subscribe like comment rate and review stay connected on instagram tiktok youtube and Facebook at Two Parents in a Pod.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Monday and happy Labor Day!! Confession: we cut our first-ever weekend away from both kids a night short. Zero regrets after the morning we had… Tate climbed into bed with us, said "mama hand, dada hand," and held both ❤️ (one of the many fun things she learned over a weekend with Grandma!!)

As for the trip: our official US Open review is in, and it's hands down the BEST sporting event in the world for a casual sports fan. There’s a whole tennis village!! Free Junior matches you can walk right up to, restaurants, shops.. and yes, we got the $100 chicken nugget box. Six pieces. SIX. The nuggets themselves? Phenomenal. The count? Unforgivable.

Before NYC, Harrison did his HYROX.. and all four of the dads CRUSHED it. For any dads listening, Harrison officially recommends doing one: 1) it takes way less time to train for than a marathon, and 2) they do a great job of making you feel like a professional athlete (which, as it turns out, is all any man has ever wanted). We also compare spectating notes: HYROX lets you get right next to the sled pushes vs. marathon makes you do a scavenger hunt across a city for one wave hahaha

And of course, it's not a trip without some travel drama: we witnessed the most LAWLESS airport line of our lives at JFK & (we have thoughts on line-cutting etiquette).

Before all of that.. we took a ROBOTAXI to recording today!! Austin is officially market one, and we came prepared: the full experience review,  price myth-busting, and the big debate Harrison's timeline can't stop fighting about: what happens to Uber when the robotaxi has its own app?

Onto the parenting topic: kids ear piercing, part two. Some pediatricians pierce ears IN OFFICE?! Plus the case for piercing parlors over the mall gun (Jules has the cartilage story), and where we've officially landed for Tate.

And the fun corner: Alex reviews Earle Meets World and explains the entire family tree (you need a whiteboard), football season is officially here (which is why we can't commit to DWTS.. yet), and the craziest dish we have EVER been served at a restaurant. The photo says it all (Jules had to debate censoring it lol)

Hope everyone has a great week :-) LOVE YOU GUYS!
