2:52Only thing I'm sad about is like, I forgot. Cause my day is like, you know, Monday off this week is like confusing. And so when he's mom texted me and she was like, I'll pick you up. And I was like, Oh, like I ran upstairs. I showered my day turned around. I'm so excited for this dance class, but I did not get a tutu for bubs. And that just feels like a really big missed opportunity. Well, for next week. I, I, and it's also good. I want to make sure I want to see what everybody else is wearing in the class. But if we're doing tutus, like if there's a dance attire for these young kids, I want to participate.
3:25I want to be an active participant in the dance attire. This is an exciting moment. What kind of dance? Just, I don't know. She likes all music. She truly at this point likes all music. But I think Jules is asking like, what kind of dance class is this? Is it a ballet class? It's contemporary. It's contemporary? It's just, you know, I'm sure it's actually run around. Contemporary with a hint of modern. Okay, perfect. no I think it's running a circle clap I think it's clap your hands run in a circle stomp your feet you know and this is for the little walkers which we are we're a little walker I hope that I am allowed to take her at some point I think that for sure is dad allowed to go to mommy me no I mean technically this is what I was thinking though because I know you would love to take her to a class you and Winnie's dad would probably prefer to go to the same class i can't see a world where that's not allowed but i am gonna ask i just want to make sure okay maybe we can get like obviously whatever yeah i'd love to go so my shower thought today was okay they've got the mommy and me classes like a lot of these things are geared around mommy and me what's the daddy daughter and i know we've got the daddy daughter dance that comes eventually so i was thinking maybe we could have it like an early we could plan our own daddy daughter dance I don't know I was thinking it would be fun to plan something because like I take her to story time and I now I take her to the dance class and like you're way more the activities person so I'd like to get something yeah our activities are just they're a little different they're a little more um day by day versus versus schedule which is fine but I just know that you would love a sanctioned activity it'll come it'll happen I'm not I'm not nervous or we could force it You see what I'm saying?
5:11I'm saying we can create it. Just because it doesn't exist doesn't mean we can't have it. Maybe swim classes? Yeah, you could definitely. I want to go to those too, though. We could take them together because I'm not the best swimmer. You're not? I'm like a bit of a dog paddler. I'm not the best swimmer either. I like sink. My body doesn't really float in the water. Yeah. Can you swim? Enough. To get by? Yeah. But you're not a great swimmer? Like if we, like you've seen me swim enough in the lake to know like I don't sink to the bottom. But like, you know, I'm not. You're not going from one side of the lake to the other.
5:52No, I'm not the quickest out there. But are you good at breaststroke? Because like I'm horrible at breaststroke. So all I really do is breaststroke. Okay. It's kind of my default. I am a phenomenal. Is that the frog? I can do the frog. That's breaststroke. No, no, no. Are you talking butterfly? No, no, no. This is breaststroke? Yeah. what's the one where you do this? Front crawl. No. Yeah, that's front crawl. No, that's, front crawl's not in my vocabulary of swimming, so it's not that. What's the one where it's when you have to breathe to the side? That's front crawl. That's 100 % front crawl.
6:22I think you guys are probably both better swimmers than I am. Yeah, front crawl's what I don't like. I'm almost positive that... We may uncover that Canada has a different word for front crawl than America. Well, front crawl's not in the vocabulary. Front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Yeah. But this is butterfly. Freestyle. No, butterfly is when you come over the top. Yeah. Okay, breaststroke is this. It says freestyle parentheses front crawl. Frontstroke, exactly. What's the one where you do this and your legs do the same thing? Butterfly. That's breaststroke. Oh. Okay, we ought to move on.
6:55Trust me, that's breaststroke. Okay, okay. P's cosigning that that's breaststroke. Okay, I like breaststroke. Yeah, that's the most casual one, but it's not the fastest. Freestyle slash front crawl is supposed to be the fastest. Yeah, I'm so bad at it. I also don't enjoy it. I will go as far as saying there's not a sport that has its moment more in one very small time every four years than swimming does. It is far and away the best Olympic sport. And other than those four years, I want nothing to do with it. The best Olympic sport is diving. That is a ridiculous take. I love watching diving and ice skating.
7:39Ice skating. The two just most subjective sports out there that are clearly so corrupt. Watching the divers, it's acrobatic. It's beautiful in the way that they're able to just get it all together to go in the water. Was it a six-inch splash or a four-inch splash? Gymnastics is by far, the floor routines is by far the best Olympic sport. Gymnastics is phenomenal. swimming is when Michael Phelps is being Michael Phelps, obviously he's retired now, but like that era that was can't miss television what, just watching him win by like a millisecond? when he was going for the 20 gold medals that was unbelievable I don't care to watch swimming too much sorry to the swimmers that's my favorite Olympic sport now speaking of Olympics, I don't know how to say her name i alana mahar alona mar alona mar was in austin what yeah she went to zeds what yeah i was pretty excited about it love her she was on dancing with the stars yes that's why i like her i i loved her for her content in the olympic village i thought she was awesome she put rugby on the map people like people were watching rugby like crazy i was watching it um okay rugby is a big sport in canada let's do a let's do a little bit of a back stroke if you will to the bedtime time routine for Bubber.
9:04Well, I wanted to do my shower thought. Do your shower thought, honey. Don't let me stop you. Okay. Do you know what I want to bring back into the mix and start purchasing? Hold on. Something you used to purchase? Something that was a thing probably 20 years ago, and I feel like with the emergence of the internet, has drastically declined in usage, and I think needs to now make a major comeback. Give us a hint. The newspaper? Great guess. That is directionally warm Magazines? Directionally warm Coupon books Directionally very cold Okay It has to do with my TikTok videos Recipe book, cookbooks Cookbooks I think cookbooks need to come back We're a big cookbook family I'm overwhelmed with the amount of recipes on the internet That I am looking for a good cookbook that is image of the dish on the left side, recipe on the right side.
10:04I need to see what it looks like. And that is going to be purchased this week. So if anyone has any suggestions on what cookbook I should buy, please comment. Would love a big focus on fish and meats and not like a dedicated cuisine. So I want to do first a general cookbook and then I'll get into cuisine-focused cookbooks. So since we're – I have a front runner. What is it? That I looked at at the bookstore today. Which is? That I was going to buy but then I ran out of time. Okay. The Alison Roman cookbook. Okay. So that – okay. Now here's the situation now that we're sort of talking about taste in this moment.
10:43I'm glad that that landed so much. It does land. I – listen, I love the idea of a cookbook but at the end of the day I just Google a recipe. But I feel like the quality of recipes coming out on Google just isn't good enough. Like they're just a little too simple and they're not trustworthy enough. I like a family cookbook. What does that mean? Like my grandma prints. We have like for my grandma or my aunt printed out recipes in a binder. An heirloom. Yes. So now this is a, I would love to start. Yeah. Do you know, I have two recipes I want to put in the cookbook. Okay. My, not mine, but remember the, what do you call that?
11:23I put the soy sauce and the broccoli and I had the beef. The stir fry. The healthy stir fry. That's a very good one. The healthy stir fry that I made. But where I like want the cookbook element is like, I feel like some walnuts in there would add some good crunch and flavor. But here's why I want, here is why I want the cookbook. Because I remember growing up, my mom probably had 15 recipes that she knew really well. She could make really easy. And you know, sometimes it was beef stroganoff night. So it was spaghetti night. And like I can't think of these meals. So if I just had a cookbook of like 15 meals that I know how to make that I've made them once.
12:01So when our kids get to be to the age where like we're all sitting around the dinner table really having family dinner. I want to just be able to be like, okay, tonight we're having this. Yeah, but I also want it to be different. Like I did that on Saturday. I decided to stay in and I cooked this beef cheek ordeal. and it was just, I liked it. But we need to dial our dinners and our breakfast for family. For sure. Like we need to be able to make enough to have the family around the table and the neighbor's kids over. We need to be able to make it quick. And our new dinner nook. And we need it to taste good.

This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Here's the thing where we're kind of redoing our house because I'm just in massive nesting mode. Like the upstairs is changing around. Hold on. It's stressing me out because we have a lot to discuss.
14:56Now here's the first thing we're going to do at 16 months old tate has officially developed taste buds and she cares about what she's eating we've noticed yes she so okay a couple things have happened maria told me yesterday she made her best meal yet that tate and winnie loved more than anything and they actually cleaned their plate what it was was it was breakfast and it was kind of an omelet situation of eggs cottage cheese ground chicken and onions she like fried it mashed it over an omelet and then sliced it up and she said that they were shoveling it in their mouth and what we've noticed is around 16 months it appears that they've become opinionated on food where it used to be sliced turkey kind of bland meat like we would get her eggs she used to give her plain eggs all day protein veggies and those things really started now she doesn't eat them as much and so jules has googled this and i do i've read these And I think that these make full sense as to why 15 to 16 months old have opinions on food.
16:00Number one, taste buds are fully active by this age. They can clearly distinguish sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. And so they have opinions on like what they like versus what they don't like. For example, Bubz has turned into a massive grape eater. Yes, the grapes are cut in half. If I get one comment about the grapes seem to be cut in half. Number two, their brain and memory kicks in. So like they remember things they like versus they don't like, which is where the power of choice comes in. Because if I show her pancaka versus huevos, she picks the pancaka every time. She is her mother's child.
16:35She loves pancakes. The independence phase begins. So this is the I have opinions phase, which means a lot of times it's not about the food. It's more about they just want to have the autonomy to be able to pick. Again, the power of choice. So giving them the two options, right? And then texture tolerance improves. So with better chewing skills, you know, kids can focus less on like the act of eating and more on what they like versus what they don't like. But I saw a video of this mom and it was so funny. She's like, honey, do you want strawberry pancakes? And the kid's like, yep, I want strawberry pancakes.
17:11So she starts cutting up the strawberries. She checks in again. You're sure you want strawberry pancakes? Because I'm making them from scratch right now. he's like mom all I will eat right now is strawberry pancakes so she goes this extravagant she makes the pancakes she cuts them up she takes them over she's like here's your fresh strawberry pancakes and it cuts the video and he's like I don't want pancakes and she's like and there it is and you know what I've realized about that that gives me peace of mind I would say for the most part all toddlers are the same like that's not your kid they just they just decided they don't want it and I think like Bubz isn't there yet like she definitely wants the food she can't request food and then say no but I do believe that phase will come and I just hope we can have a sense of humor about it I'm sure because if anything then I have strawberry pancakes to eat okay so some recipes that we've been trying recently um Maria's made these muffins Maria's muffins are three ingredients and they are unbelievable eggs banana peanut butter yeah they're so tasty and blueberries and blueberries and i now granted it a bit of baking powder it was a it was a lot of the peanut butter it's rare that i have to restock the jar so soon um did you notice i restocked the jar yes you got it uh the new jar from central market and i had it today with my apples i'm kind of crushing per function health recommendation and that's an ad on today i just i just read that ad really yeah I did it and I said Harrison signed up for function health and then what did I do I group texting my parents and I said have you guys done your function health we got you for Christmas because it's on my mind um I I would like to clap for myself on my restock game avocado spray garlic powder and peanut butter yeah you the you the I our fridge is stocked right now you're killing it dishwasher pods random things and I remembered them all and Typically when I'm pregnant, I forget them all.
19:12I'm really proud of myself for remembering. Okay, so those are Maria's muffins. Then H made healthy goldfish. I think I liked them more than Bubber. I think they were a little hard for Bubber. They were so good. I thought so as well. Thank you. I would like to have those kind of as a reoccurring thing around the house. Very simple recipe. Do you want to tell us the recipe? A cup of cheddar, a cup of almond flour, an egg, splash of milk, a bit of paprika, a bit of salt. Buy off Amazon the goldfish cutter. So you mix it, smash it with the goldfish cutter, push them out, bake at 325 for 12 to 14 minutes.
19:53I also have a suggestion that could be easier. Please. If you don't have the goldfish, Cheez-Its. Take them into squares. I know. I know, but I wanted to make Bubber Goldfish. No, and I thought it was really cute. I'm just saying if we're trying to make them quickly, I'm down for like Cheez-Its. Yeah, I think moving forward, there'll be Cheez-Its. Could you make them tonight? Yeah, easily. Didn't you guys make Cheez-Its before? Never. I don't think so. Maybe. Cottage cheese? We've made cottage cheese corn cakes. Crackers? No, no, no. Never have. But we can. We can do it. Okay, now let's talk about the house.
20:38Here's what's happened. We've started the changing of the rooms. And you guys are asking, why is Tate moving rooms? Why doesn't the baby boy just get the playroom? The number one, so we have a room right beside our room. And that is the nursery room. It was Tate's nursery and now it's going to be the baby boy's nursery. That room will always be the nursery. It's the smallest. It has the ensuite bathroom. it's and here's the number one reason it's right beside it is shares a wall with our bedroom it's the one in the back of the house so it's quietest it has one window all the other rooms have two windows so it's the darkest room and like it's the smallest room it's just that's the nursery room it's the perfect little nursery it's it's just built to be the nursery so here's the beauty of it with bubbers walls we painted them we didn't wallpaper them we're painting them again now because we're probably gonna have to paint them again unless we have a boy then the stripes will stay bubber moved into her room with the wallpaper because the wallpaper is pink and green so that's just gonna be the girl's room this new room for her you guys it's got more natural light it's in the front of the house looks great it's a little bit bigger um it's awesome like this room for her is awesome and now the playroom which I wanted to tell you before this I did my homework and I pressed order because if there's one thing I'm doing right now I'm just press an order what you bought the desk I bought a toy organizer and book organizer oh phenomenal um so I did I did I did a I allowed myself I had to pick and choose so I picked the four items that needed to be ordered what they were was we need an art table and chairs we need a toy organizer and bookshelf situation and we need art on the walls because what we're going to do is we're going to paint the baseboards a bright color and the walls are going to stay white and we're going to do bright art on the walls so i ordered the two pieces of art they're huge scale what are they they're gonna you're gonna be surprised can i see them that's where i went for the boy can i see them please i guess do you want to see them okay we can put these up on the screen i'm down to show um are they from the same place little van go yeah i love that place i would order art from there for myself honestly you know i tried to branch out from little van go and i found some really cool uh cassette tapes because the girls love music and they're funky different colors and they were big and there were six of them and i added them all to my they were three thousand dollars a pop and i was like what happened like i just assumed that they were not so yeah that's not happening um i just i think these are really cool they're huge i love them they're like love them like great i don't think you're understanding the scale of how big these are really great i noticed that you showed me oh my goodness this is so you she just like showed me the pictures of them not the price so here's what i'm saying this is my point i had the art we'll have forever we have the art forever the arts the art the coke painting we have downstairs i've had since college it's massive it's canvas one thing about me is i keep my art forever these we will keep.
24:04Now the table I bought, no, no, no. The table and the toy organizer, I had them in my cart from West Elm. What I was doing was I was organizing the four, the four things we were going to buy. I went, I tried to find the art at a cheaper price, but none of it was framed. So we were still going to have to frame it. People upcharge you on framing all the time. So then I thought, let's work smarter, not harder. We're going to order the art and the art's going to be framed and we're done with it. Then we're going to go to Wayfair. My table and chairs was like 120 bucks. And then my book, it's a large scale.
24:39It's like 55 to 60 inches. It's like a toy organizer. This toy organizer is actually awesome. What's the one item do you think that she showed me beforehand where she very intentionally showed me with the price? The chairs. The table and chairs. I even got those cheaper than what I showed you. Okay, great. check this out check out my toy organizer boom that is awesome it's awesome that is actually really really great yeah i nailed like i really so that's where i went i said okay we're gonna save money here and did you get the multicolored one or the all-white one i had the multicolored one okay and i got a pink table i actually my table and chairs is less than a hundred dollars i think i found it cheaper yeah what you showed it was 120 yeah i think i got it for 80 so that's i went i scaled down i said we're gonna mix and match here you really thought through this i was really high low that's what i did i love it you did great you did great and why did i go high on the art because we're not painting the walls perfect okay thank you jules for the stamp of approval we'll insert everything and here's okay so this is the other thing i was thinking about we're now at the it's if you're doing a nursery like take it or leave it for me right i'm just saying one of my friends the other day asked me when do I need a high chair she's like do I register for a high chair I'm like if you want to but you do not need it until six months so I'm just saying I did what like when you're doing your whole nesting thing like the first thing I set up what was it the high chair yeah yeah the high chair set up day one and we literally just and we made a video setting it up and everyone was like oh sweetheart he can't or she can't set her head up I would have thought she'd be using it day one Yeah, not happening.
26:27Guys, let's talk about branch basics because when it comes to cleaning your home, especially if you have little kids, all you want is something that truly cleans your house but is not going to be toxic for your house. So what's the problem that we all have? A lot of products look clean, but they still contain ingredients linked to hormone disruption, skin irritation, and respiratory issues. And that should not come from your cleaning products, guys. and in the U.S. cleaning brands don't even have to list every ingredient so you may be spraying and washing with things you'd never knowingly want to bring into your home.
27:01That's where Branch Basics comes in. This female-founded brand is redefining transparency and eliminating toxins from our homes starting with the products we use the most. Their premium starter kit comes with one powerful concentrate that makes everything. Think laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner, even pet wash and vegetable rinse. You guys, just one plant and mineral-based formula replaces it all and it's safe for babies, pets, and anyone wanting to reduce their daily exposure to harmful chemicals in the new year. You guys, we've switched fully to Branch Basics at our house because I have so much peace of mind knowing that I can clean anything with it and it is not just adding a bunch of chemicals and toxins into the environment.
27:46And remember this, it's made with plant and mineral-based ingredients, and it's human-safe and biodegradable. Here's the good news. Branch Basics is now available everywhere you shop at Target, Target.com, Amazon, and of course, BranchBasics.com. Tossing the toxins has never been more convenient. And for anyone grabbing the premium starter kit, you can get 15 % off at BranchBasics.com with our code 2Parents. Just use code 2Parents for 15 % off the premium starter kit at BranchBasics.com. After you purchase when they ask where you heard about them make sure to mention our show so all that to say we're now at the phase where we need we never needed before this and then we're at 16 months we need a table and chairs for art and we need a toy organizer because like our toys like they can kind of pick up now but before this it wasn't they couldn't sit at a table and so in terms of other things to order we're just on the we need the dresser situation for his room yep and the chair for his room.
28:47No, I ordered the chair. Really? I showed it to you. You said I don't like the color. I said they make it in white. You said perfect. Okay, great. It's awesome. Here's where I'm improving on the chair for nursery number two. Is it smaller? It's not smaller. It has an ottoman. I'm officially really into the ottomans with the chairs. Did you look at my chair placement suggestion? Yes. Is it going to work there? Yeah, for sure. Okay, perfect. 100 % it'll work there. I think that's going to totally change the flow of the room. Here's the best part about a nursery I've realized. doing Bubber's room and doing baby boy's room are really easy crib, chair, dresser crib, chair, dresser, rug done, diaper pail that's it and the beauty of the dresser is that's where the clothes go because I'm telling you these kids clothes are small you just wad them up I just roll them yeah so it's good okay so those are the things that we've ordered for the playroom.
29:47I was looking at like a magnet activity board for the wall, which we will get eventually. I just, I kind of want Maria to weigh in on it with me because I don't want it to go to waste. Like, I don't know if it's a wipe off board, if it's a chalkboard, if it's a magnet board, if it's all in one. So I'm going to have her kind of, what I wanted to get was a drawing board, but then I thought that could really prompt drawing on the walls. Like if she was drawing on on a board on there and then she drew on a wall i don't know that you could necessarily get mad at her because it's kind of the same thing okay also speaking of food i'm gonna go back a bit here wait my question that i texted yesterday did tate just like sleep in her room yes okay so how did bubber take getting her new room so she truly we were going night night for nap time and we walked upstairs and she, she knows to walk in her room.
30:42And like when she walked, she was like, Oh, Oh. And so then I walked her into her new room. And when I walked her into her new room, I made it exciting. Like I was like, yay. And then I have it on video. I posted it. She was also like, okay, yay. And she slept like a baby. Pun intended. She slept her classic seven to seven um which reminds us well i was a little nervous on making the change because what i've noticed is like her going to sleep super fast is correlated with two things um like in addition to that routine is like one it being in her bedroom like when we travel she doesn't go to sleep is fast.
31:27Yep. Plain and simple. But also what and what we didn't talk about last week. And I'm what I'm so surprised with is like obviously I'm not a routine person for myself and my life. I feel like you're not much of a routine person. We were very go with the flow. Would you agree? Yes. But Bubz, she is a schedule girly and her going to bed at 7 p.m. or as close to as 7 p.m. on the dot makes such a difference, both in terms of how quickly she falls asleep and how long she sleeps. And so I was a little nervous last night that because of the new setting, she would take a little longer to go to bed, but we had her right down right away.
32:10And I think a big piece of that was it was 7 p.m. on the dot and she slept through a normal time. She's like 6 a.m. plus minus right now. She's about a 6, 26, 30-er. Almost, almost routinely. But what Harrison's saying is if we push her bedtime back to eight, you might think, okay, she'll sleep until 730. The opposite happens. She gets up earlier. And it goes, it's their circadian rhythm. Like 7 p.m. is the sweet spot for a reason. And there's a bunch of like data behind it. I don't exactly know what it is, but we find it to be very true with Tate. If she goes to bed at seven, she sleeps longer.
32:46She sleeps better. If we push it back, she truly does wake up earlier. and also it it weirdly like i'm so surprised by this and maybe like this is just coincidence or maybe this is unique to her um or maybe this is most but like she struggles to go to bed the speed at which she goes to bed is like she becomes overtired it's it it takes her longer later yeah when it's later i think though what helped with the room is i showed her all the pieces were the same as her old room like it's like it's your room it's just in a new spot and I think she really understood that. I think she knows when she's at home.
33:23And I think she sleeps good in the house. I think she likes to be home. And uniquely enough, the crib is in the same corner and the same wall right by a similar window. Yeah. So from her perspective in sleeping, if she looks up or around, it would kind of look the same. Yeah. And when she wakes up, she sees the same dresser. And it's the same bed and the same sheets. Yeah. A lot of similarities. And the other reason we wanted to move her now was we didn't want a lot of change at once. So we didn't want the baby boy to come and then it'd be like, and you have a new room and he has your room. Whereas now she's going to have three months in her room and then baby boy is going to arrive.
34:06Do you remember, like, I think we talked about this, that we weren't going to change any of this until like, because she slept in our room for the first six months. Right. Right. And so I remember when we talked about this and when we did the initial planning, I don't know if we ever discussed it on the pod. Like we planned for her to be in that room while he was born because it was like, oh, we can do the change later because he's he'll just be in our room. But I love that we've done it all now. Yeah, it needed to happen before. And then the next thing I want to do is once we get his room all done, start playing with a baby doll in there.
34:41Yeah. Like baby. And then be like, this is baby's crib. And like we take care of the baby together. So then she kind of understands. Love it. And then she gets, then a real life baby comes. Love it. Which might help bridge the gap. So we'll see. But that was kind of the thinking there. So we're excited about that. Speaking of baby number two, can dad deliver baby number two was something that we talked about last week because we ran into our OB and she was like, dad can deliver baby number two. My friends and people on the internet have come out of the woodwork. Like so many dads have delivered babies.
35:13I just can't believe that I didn't know that beforehand. So many dads have. Love it. And then here's the other thing, I guess women can reach down and I get Kourtney Kardashian's the one that did it. She reached down and caught her baby. Are you going to do that? Like I cannot tell you how I would rather try to like chew through that curtain. It's a good looking curtain. When I give birth, I'm pushing. Maybe baby number two will be different. But with Tate specifically, if you told me like reach down, I was throwing up every contraction. Like, no, you guys do it. My prediction now is you're going to deliver baby number three.
35:54I don't want to. Like I don't, that's not something I want to do. She's going to do it? Yeah. I don't want to do it. I love the idea of you or the doctor doing it. Love the idea of somebody else doing it. I have done 99.9 % up until then. Well, whatever you want to do. I'm here to support. I really don't want to catch it. Like I don't want to add that to my list of things to do. I don't even think I could physically bend forward. Like if I have an epidural, like you can't feel anything. like I don't even like the idea of the possibility okay like I'm tired I get tired thinking about it I just know um okay so speaking of delivering your own children I had this thought what's because we're coming up on this like large milestone of our life where we go from one kid to two kids and it's you know it feels like a lot so I asked the people I said all right what's harder going from zero to one kid, one to two kids or two plus kids.
Read the full transcript
36:59And the comments were interesting because the most liked one was zero to one because everything changes. But there was a ton, like I think overwhelming amount of people said one to two. So the most liked comment was, you know, everything changes when you have your first kid. But I think more people commented one to two. And then there was a couple that said three, but here's the thing, like, because at three what do you do somebody said it really well you go from running man to man to zone yeah but i think for me like did anyone my take on this is very much kid dependent what you have two easy kids then it's it's fine like i think if your first kid is easy then the transition from one to two is going to be harder assuming the second gets hard right if the first kid's hard then the transition from one to two is going to be easier than um than zero to one was.
37:55I think in general. Like I think that, and when I say hard, like just the basic things like sleeping, feeding, and so on and so forth. And like Tate did that stuff in as easy as a way as one can. And so I think that that leaves us particularly like, like I think one to two for us is probably going to be very, very hard. I thought we took zero to one in stride. Like I was very proud of us. Like while you do lose a lot of the autonomy of like getting up in the morning and being able to do whatever you want. You know, that all changed, but I think A, we wanted it and B, we just, we enjoyed it. But I do think one to two for us, and we don't know what this baby boy holds.
38:37He could be colicky. He could not sleep. He might not latch. He might have digestion. Like you have no idea what's going to happen and come what may, but I do think one to two for us, because right now it's you and I on Bubber and it's about to be you and I on one-on-one. Yeah, I'm ready to get rocked. No, same. I'm fully expecting baby number two to like, I mean, I'm expecting it to just be a complete SHIT show. But I think us being able to watch our friends around us, we're like, okay, one to two is going to be hard. It's going to be hard. But this is coming from people that want three to four to five kids.
39:18I think that the only way I see us not getting rocked is if he's a good sleeper and if he's like a clear communicator and not. A clear communicator? Where I gotta give Bubba so much credit, she's a very clear communicator. Now, but she wasn't. I felt and I think you can pull the tapes I've been giving her credit on her cues from probably like month three or four, have I not? She's so good with her cues. Well, and she was one of three things, right? She was tired, she was hungry. What's the other one? I can't remember. Uncomfortable? Needed a diaper change? Yeah. And diaper change was always at the bottom of the list.
39:58Like, she most of the time wanted milky. Yeah, but all of that, obviously, out of our control and very kid-specific and, like, you know, the minute that they're colicky, all that gets, or something like that, all that gets thrown out the window. Well, and I think the thing is, too, we're going to have this baby and then Bubba's going to be around, too. You know? And we don't know what that age is going to hold for her but like it's going to be more opinions and so i don't want to sit here and be like it's going to be i think it's going to be very hard i think we're ready for it we're excited about it but i don't want to say it's going to be easy yeah we need to be ready for things to get turned upside down i'll also say like the stress levels going into baby two versus baby one feel very very different and it's like i think there's just a sense of familiarity with our life and where we're living.
40:47And, um, like even at the OB, like we're, we know everyone there. We know, um, the doctor, we know the nurses, we know the lady who does the scan. And so I feel like it's just like everything from A to Z is just like a lot, a lot more calming. Like the nursery this time around versus last time around, it was like, We made the decision to do it. And 48 hours, 48 hours later, like the ball was rolling on it and it'll be done pretty quickly. Guys, I cannot tell you how much I love Quince. I remember, and I could pull up this text message I sent to somebody, but when we were doing our first nursery, my best friend Sydney was in town and we were holding up these things.
42:58They were called swaddles. and we were like when do you use swaddles when do you get rid of the swaddles what drawer should we put the swaddles in so we texted our friends from back in oklahoma city that have kids and we were like what do we do with the swaddles and they were like okay second drawer like you're going to use them a lot the first three months and then you're going to get rid of them and now like i know i got rid of a lot of stuff yesterday i was doing i was purging the bottle washing section because i overbought and i'm like i need that dryer and i need that washer oh that's it big pivot on most recommended product which complete is completely unused now completely unused and use was like our favorite over the first six months why the warm towel wiper i just got rid of it just got rid of it why because there's not an outlet in bub's room and you know what i don't want to do anymore refill the light i don't want to cover the light in her room and i don't want to refill the wipe warmer i'm done like the wipe the wipes stay in the package it's not cute we're not cute anymore but i loved it for those first six months because she wanted to be warm yeah and now i feel like she like doesn't care about that stuff she doesn't care at all but she wanted to be warm at first we might end up getting another one for him because he does have an outlet right in the right spot but okay um yeah like i just think simplifying so it is funny though no we didn't i'll never forget being in the hospital and the nurse was about to leave for the first time.
44:22She was like, just remember diaper changes. And we were like, oh man, we don't know how to change a diaper. And she had to show us. Yeah. And what did she say? Straps at the back. Tabs in the back. And we were like, oh, because we had the diaper on wrong. Yeah. She was like, hey guys, just put the tabs in the back. Always remember that. Yeah. I just can't believe how many less questions there are this time around. We did not know she didn't drink water. They were like milk only. And we were like milk only. How often do we give her the milk? what else did we not know? We didn't know how to swaddle.
44:56Didn't know how to swaddle. And even seeing it now with our friends that just had kids, the difference in their neck support. Yeah. Like how flimsy their necks are over the first six months. That is a crazy one. Yeah, and you have to do full support, and they're so – I forget how little they are. Their legs, they just – Well, they can't straighten their legs. Yeah. it's really quite cute um okay well the one thing that i skipped over that i wanted to talk about in the food department was so i put up an insta story because i just feel like i'm going to the grocery store like it's getting crazy right and we only have winnie and tate three days at our house but we have we have tate every breakfast and every dinner but for lunch and snack time tate and winnie monday wednesday friday are with us i can't keep berries in stock and i can't keep eggs in stock and somebody messaged me was like how many eggs does Harrison eat a day and it's like no it's not Harrison it's me because I eat probably six eggs a day I did three eggs a day yeah I think you guys had 72 eggs in your refrigerator and Jules we're halfway through the second carton and it's Tuesday I've never seen so many eggs in my life one carton is already out every week we go through three large cartons of eggs so how many three and a half every Sunday I we have half Half of it left.
46:15Pardon? Aren't those big ones 18? Yeah. So 18 times three. 72. No. No. No, no, no. 56. 56. But 72 because there's four cartons in there because we have half of it left. But here's the thing. Maria's always making a banana bread. That math is upside down. Maria's always making a banana bread. She's always making a muffin. So she's using a bunch of eggs. And then I'm eating right when I get up, I have two eggs. And then I have an omelet with three eggs later in the day. Bubber loves that. Like everyone's eating eggs. Have you looked at this, speaking of eggs, this Vital Farms controversy? No. I went and read about it.
46:50Really? This is all over my Twitter. So Vital Farms responded. Okay. Can you explain it? Yes. So Vital Farms, which was. I haven't followed it closely. I've only seen the headlines. So I'm going to have to lean on you here. Okay, all I know about the Vital Farms thing is apparently they got bought by somebody big. But the thing about it is I don't think they're feeding their chickens as clean as they used to. Yeah. Which a lot of people are mad about. That's the way I read it. I read it is the consumers thought that their eggs were going through a certain process. And it appears they're going through a different process.
47:36so the consumer feels misled yeah the consumer feels misled and here's the problem like vital farms responded with the store with the whole video on their page with like a voiceover being like traceability transparency is key and everybody was like you kind of just confirmed what we said um and a lot and this is this is the social media craze people are all switching eggs myself included i'm a central market egg buyer now but these eggs that i'm buying now the 18 count i think they're three dollars and 50 cents cheaper than the vital farms nice and they're the same exact all this the thing you know claims the same claims are on there that i feel good about so anyways we're going through a ton of eggs and berries and so i asked my mom's group on instagram I was like, all right, what's like the one food you can't keep in stock?
48:28And the responses were really funny. Number one, berries, raspberries. Number two, bananas, which we also can't keep in stock. Number three, tractor wheels, which I thought was really funny. Tractor wheels? Just like a bunch of boys love the tractors and the tractor wheels. I don't know what a tractor wheel is. Like a wheel on a tractor. It's not a food, honey. Oh. And then the number. But then how is that keeping them in stock? It's just something they can't keep in stock. It was a funny response. And then this is my favorite one. Water, but only from mom's water bottle. And like that is the most true thing on the planet.
49:07Because like Bubber always just wants our agua. Never her agua, our agua. Yeah, she loves to eat and drink what we're eating. Very spot on. And then number five is yogurt. Like yogurt pouches and in yogurt in general, like kids love yogurt. For us though, it's the Solis. But didn't you mention that a lot of people were talking about buying frozen berries? Yeah, I was going to ask if you guys looked into it. So, okay, a lot of people were responding on the video saying, why don't you try buying frozen berries? Okay, super down. What do you do? Do you dethaw them? How do they then eat the frozen berries?
49:42And do babies care if they're eating frozen? Because to me, the idea of eating frozen berries, I'm getting shivers thinking about it. Same, same. So I'd assume you dethaw them Or like maybe babies just don't care I literally have shivers right now I don't know what happens when you do dethaw them I have like moisture in my mouth forming Yeah it's Pavlov's dog But like frozen fruit and frozen vegetables It's like they're My mom says this They're supposed to be like peak nutrition Because they freeze them Harrison you could correct But like they freeze them When they're in their best shape So they're I think supposed to be like really good for you i don't see bubber being like down but like why is frozen fruit taste so bad frozen grapes taste amazing but like frozen grapes taste great when you freeze them but frozen blueberries don't taste the same as blueberries you know what and i've been freezing raspberries and those taste very different than frozen raspberries i agree with that because frozen raspberries amazing what true fruit not an ad so good we had it last night it is actually like it's so good it i it has to be the best home dessert that exists it's unbelievable if you're buying like a package product no the true fruit i'm on a frozen fruit kick another thing maria did okay this is killer so she took strawberries not strawberries took raspberries mixed them with plain greek yogurt chocolate and honey and froze them on a platter and cut them into bark oh my But Bubber could eat those and I couldn't.
51:18Did Bubber eat those? Yeah. It's a great food for Bubber. Can you guys comment? So if you have recipes that your toddler loves, please comment them because Maria made this tortilla out of sweet potatoes, broccoli. I don't know what it was. To me, I ate all. She made me some and then I ate all of Bubber's plate because Bubber would not eat them. But Winnie ate them all. and so I want to try some more recipes that your toddlers love. Yeah, it's a great call. And I actually have a recipe for you to make tonight while we're at Mom Daughter Dance. So you cut up the chicken into these little cubes and then you just, it's just a chicken recipe.
52:00I don't know what you're going to do with it. I have an excess amount of chicken. Okay. So I just need you to make chicken and then I need you to add some stuff. Can we do a chicken casserole? Yeah, and I got you a bunch of veggies to put in there with it. Okay. And then bake it while we're gone because when we get back, we're going to be starving. Okay. Okay, great. Very exciting stuff. You guys know Harrison and I are both focusing on our health this year, especially before baby number two comes. We're trying to get it all dialed by April. And here's the thing. We're trying to eat better. We're trying to feel better.
52:29And we're doing this by exercising. For me, it looks like just a walk that day. But for Harrison, he's trying to work out five times a week. He's eating healthy. He's very on his health kick up until the new baby comes. And here's the thing. He did function health. We gave it to my parents. We gave it to Harrison's parents for the holidays because we are so obsessed with function health and learning about everything that's going on in your body and what you should work on. And here's the thing. It tells you your biomarkers and then you're able to understand what your body truly needs. And that's why we chose function.
53:02It's designed by top doctors and trusted by hundreds of thousands of members. you get access to over 160 of the most critical lab tests, covering everything from heart health, hormones, metabolisms to nutrients, toxins, inflammation, and stress markers. You can even add MRI and chest CT imaging, and it's all tracked in one secure place over time. It also tells you your biological age, tells you the areas that you need to work on, and I'm telling you Harrison got his results back, and he has been dialed in ever since then. And here's the best part. You can own your health for$365 a year. That's a dollar a day, 365.

We got Starlink because we've had it with our wifi. It's arrived. It gets installed on Monday. The only experience Harrison and I have was Starlink as we flew from Hawaii Airlines Park City to Hawaii and we had Starlink and Harrison was able to answer a phone call on a plane? This wifi was high speed I have a question I have a very good question for the group I was working at Desnudo Coffee Shop a new great coffee shop in Clarksville and the guy across for me it's in west side market with the bookstore it's unbelievable it's a very good coffee shop it's why i have this noodle by me it's our new spot but this is an indoor one vibe vibe's phenomenal they got a book short book store which it extends to the gentleman sitting across from me took a phone call like took a zoom sitting so i was at a big table of four and he was sitting across from me and he was just ripping a zoom out loud he had headphones in are you allowed at a coffee shop to do a zoom call a lot of people do zoom calls at coffee shops i it's not for me it's not it's not my taste buds i think in a pinch if you have to you need to take your volume down to like an amicable level as though you were having a conversation with somebody across from you but i think you need to get up and walk to like an area kind of off to yourself to yourself but like yeah i'm down for you to take a zoom at a coffee shop yeah i just think it depends on the coffee shop like there's some coffee shops you can take a zoom at and there's some that if it's a crowded coffee shop that just depends on the culture of the coffee shop also like chaotic background like i think my take on this like i went i had a i had a big 12 o 'clock call and so i went home to take that call i think if you're gonna be a prominent speaker on the call you can't take it at the coffee shop.
55:54I think if you're going to be a passive speaker on the call and just kind of chime in here or there then it is coffee shop appropriate. I agree with that. This guy was the clear primary speaker on the call and so it was just like it was a lot. Was he talking loud? It was just yeah it was a lot. Yeah that to me is like a bit read the room that's a little disruptive. In a pinch if you have to I get it and like I would even look at the crowd. But I think you peel off to the corner like there was a seat in the corner that I was looking at. it i agree i agree with you i do think i think it's a lot i think it's a lot for copy shop culture to have to digest that kind of behavior yeah i'm with you all right so kind of our rules are if you're a prominent speaker step off to the side if you have to take a primary speaker primary speaker primary speaker and you and here's the thing let's also think about the people on the zoom i hate when i can hear like background chatter on the zoom call you know so i i do i would like you to step off to the side yeah he lives in in your neighborhood and his wi-fi is just awful take but that's where you gotta step to the side yeah yeah i'm all for it i'm all for it but i think you gotta just peel off a little bit yeah and keep and and just keep the tone agree agree with at a reasonable level and that may and i guess i guess maybe here's the the punch line it can't feel different than if you were having if the people beside you were having coffee together and I think that's what got me on this one.
57:18It was like there was so much animation. Yeah. If it disrupted you, I can only imagine how I would have felt. Well, I take my calls like what I like about this West Side Market is I just take my calls walking and I just kind of pace through it. You don't notice a lot. Like you're not easily like offended by – I'm always like, hey, Harrison, some court aware. I think this guy – I think I would have been like, can you go over there? i think that i was gonna say the same thing if you noticed it i i assume he was talking like this yeah yeah he was yeah that's funny okay um well i think it's i think it's actually a good time for us to go to the bicker of the week talking about things that are can you or can you not do So, LOL to this because I think audiobook versus – I think the bigger of the week of audiobook versus actually reading.
58:18Do they both equal reading? And I loved what – whoever put it out – was it you, P, that put it on our Insta story today? That was me. That was very funny. It was like – wait, what did the comments say? It said, if I watch the podcast on Spotify, did I listen to the podcast? It was funny. It was a good – No. You watched it. It's a good clapback. And thank you for watching. And on that note, thank you for watching. I'll say thank you to our listener. Thank you. Do you see what Jules are there? Thank you to our listener. Not thank you to our watcher. So that's probably our most debated one. It sounds as though people were waiting for somebody to debate audiobook versus reading and if they are the same thing.
58:59And then somebody commented, this is the equivalent of saying you ran five miles, but you ran it on a treadmill. so this week's bicker of the week is is running five miles on a treadmill equivalent to running five miles outside a hundred percent this is like the biggest non um question like it is the same thing i can't believe like i think it's okay here's running five miles outside and running five miles on a treadmill is one-to-one it is apples to apples i think running outside is harder where you can't dispute is that you both ran five miles i just don't think we can call them of equal um hardness i jules i think i mean it's mentally more taxing to run five miles on a treadmill so that's that's the caveat i just totally disagree a lot of people get really bored on a treadmill i prefer to run or walk on a treadmill it's my happy place when you get me outside the terrain changes are up and down i'm i'm bored out of my mind outside when i'm on a treadmill i can i can drift off into imagination like i prefer a treadmill the only thing is running outside i think is harder because there's going to be inclines and declines what if you do inclines on a treadmill that's bs like it's kind of a controlled environment i agree with you though harrison like it's just five miles is five miles like if someone says i ran five miles today i I don't care if they ran five miles on the treadmill or they ran five miles on the trail.
1:00:36Versus with books, if you tell me you read five books and you listen to them, it matters. I would be such a hypocrite if I just came in here and I was like, five miles on the treadmill is not five miles. But where I think we're going to get stumped here is marathon runners. I don't think a marathon on the treadmill counts as a marathon outside. I texted the friend group before this because I have two of my best friends are marathon runners. And I was like, I need the opinions. And they were like, well, how is this even a question? It's just the mileage is the mileage. And Eileen, who like runs three hour marathon, she trained for an entire marathon on a treadmill once.
1:01:16See, I don't I maybe that's true. I'm not a marathon runner. I would just think marathon runners would be like, no, I want to know if you're training for a marathon, if you're doing it on the treadmill or if you're doing it outside. By the way, to me, the title of if you're a marathoner, the definition of that is you run a marathon a year. Not that you've ran a marathon before. She's a marathoner. So like you said three hours. That's way faster than I've ever done. So I wanted to give that. And I think that's an important delineation. Just because you ran a marathon doesn't make you a marathoner.
1:01:50I think a marathoner won a year. Because that means you're doing them. Not that you've done them. I agree with that. Yeah. We call them thonners. Yeah. I'm not a thoner. But you can run marathons. I've done one or two. How many have you done? Cape Town and London. You've only ran two marathons? Yeah. Inner Mongolia was a half marathon. How many half marathons have you done? I did that. I did San Francisco. I did. The thing about you is you have a ton of stamina. So like you can just mentally say, I'm going to do a half marathon and go out and do it. Well, to me, the mindset with my first marathon was like, okay, if I consistently work out for an hour, if my workouts are consistently an hour and, you know, most people target running a sub four hour marathon, then it's just four times my normal workout.
1:02:47So I should be able to power through that. And so that's how I got to my first one. Yeah. I know mentally though it's the thing about you is you you have stamina you even have it in everyday life I noticed like you can just like get a lot of stuff done you like moved all we were in bed Monday morning and he just like popped up he's like we got to move the rooms if we don't do it now we're never doing it and I came out of the bedroom and I was like every room was moved you moved Barbara out of her room and into the other room thank you in like 30 minutes Frank was there to help yeah the painter was there but like you guys were taken off doors and then it was time for nap time and maria texted me tate doesn't have a door and i was like oh and frank wouldn't put it back on but it was funny um okay taking off doors when you're moving furniture is just it saves so much time oh my gosh yes because you don't have to dismantle the furniture but like i this is what i thought i thought our house was in complete disarray and then i went and i checked everything out and we're pretty good shape we're not in such We're not so far off, which I'm feeling good about.
1:03:49The only problem is Harrison's closet was in the playroom, and now you've had to move your closet back into our room. But I'm good. We're going to do a small little built-in thing. No one's going to notice it. It's going to be right in the corner, and we're going to be good. I'm going to notice it. It's taking the place of my floor-length blue mirror that I love more than anything. So I am going to notice the built-ins. However, I'm going to love them because your clothes are going to go in them. What if we put mirrors on the Beltins? Oh, my God. You just got my full attention. I'm thrilled about that.
1:04:24Thrilled. Great, great solution. I emailed the lady. She has an email back. So we're also building a breakfast nook. Over where our table is, we're going to do like a – I'm hoping it can be mohair, but like a booth, two-parts booth, and then the other two – it's a circular table, so they won't be sides. but the other two sides of the table will be chairs which just is like a dream for me it's a dream i may push back on the circle table you know what i am not going to die on the hill of a circle and i will give you a square i won't give you a rectangle okay but i think the problem is the dimensions are rectangular i just think if you get the booth side so long people are like hey can you let me out to go to the bathroom don't love that well they're coming tomorrow to do the measuring so we'll figure it out then i'm just glad we're doing it we're also we're also getting a new couch which anthropology has the dimensions wrong online and i don't think so they do and i called them what was wrong with them i think that's for one so we're looking at an l-shaped couch i think the dimensions online are for one part of the l okay we're just gonna order that today and then i called them and i said hey i think your dimensions are wrong online.
1:05:40And she's like, the only thing we have to tell you is what's online. I was like, so you want me to spend this amount of money on a couch and not neither of us are sure of the dimensions. She's like, the best I can do is have an email to you in 72 hours. And I said, great, but are they going to email me what's online? She was like, most likely. And I was like, here's where you're getting me. Okay. It's called the Denver couch, the Denver L shaped couch. There's two online. One's floral, one's green. The green one is 120 inches. The floral one for some reason is 80 inches. To me, they're looking like the same couch.
1:06:13I would rather it be the longer dimensions. She's like, I don't know. I'm like, this isn't your fault. It's Anthropologie's. Okay, well, are we ordering it? I tried the chatbot. They don't have dimensions. Are you ordering it? No, we can't just guess. Dimensions are like the key. Why would I order it? I thought you said we were ordering it so then I put it so then I asked chat GBT I said hey what are the dimensions of the Denver floral couch and it said the 118 if it's the 118 by 80 it fits perfectly is floral what we should be doing in that room yes it is here's why I think pattern disrupts from when Bubber takes a sharpie to it.
1:07:07And the day will come. And this fabric is wipeable. I looked. How far away do you think Bubber is from sharpening things? We're going to let her know. Do not sharpie. I think she's very close. I think this is the age. Well, here's the thing. She would have sharpied on her whole bed the other day had the cap pin off. She was going like this with it. She doesn't know if the cap's on or off. When she's got that dry board thing, it she just but it's an innocent thing like she doesn't know she why why would it make sense to a little brain that she can color on her pink board but she can't color on the bed totally when there's a sharpie sitting by the bed that's like so confusing so what we have to do right now is remove the risk remove the sharpies from the equation yeah make sure your pins are capped on yep but yeah the day will come like her favorite thing to do right now is steal my aquaphor and go like this with it like they really do muscle memory totally i had to look all last night i got in bed and i couldn't find my aquaphor and i it was at the bottom of the ball pit and like i can't sleep without my aquaphor and i was like tate and winnie were walking around with the aquaphor sharing it so it could be in any of these rooms up here and it could be anywhere in these rooms.
1:08:25Yeah, Bubber loves to snatch items. My toothpaste went missing so guess what I did? What? I just restocked our toothpaste everywhere. Did you notice that? No. I just ordered five things of toothpaste and I'm like, I'm not going to have it where Bubber's just walking around with my toothpaste anymore because at this point I think joke's on me. Okay, so things we DM'd each other. We're going to do one because Harrison and I love to chitter chatter and I think we've been Pitter patter. Pitter patter and I think we've been What's that look, Jules? We're having fun over here. Perfect. Um, okay. The things we DMed is admin nights, which Harrison likes to call admin nights.
1:09:00Admin? Admin nights. Admin nights. So basically it's a viral social trend where friends get together often at someone's house with snacks and drinks and they tackle boring life tasks, life tasks like paying bills, answering emails, scheduling appointments, canceling subscriptions, anything admin oriented. Um, and they do it together with their friends in a relaxed setting. I haven't liked a social idea this much in a very long time. Like this to me on a Tuesday night is like the perfect thing to do. And like so often I'm like, it's like I'll just do it at home because like you don't want to be rude.
1:09:41But I love just like the openness and transparency of like, hey, do you want to hang out with our laptops out? Like this is, I feel like this is for me. so i like the idea of to be clear this is a like this is the tuesday night activity this isn't i want to be like this is off limits thursday through sunday i i like the idea of admin nights but i like the idea of doing it with just with you here here's why i think otherwise if it was with like five or six friends i already know what's happening we're getting distracted we're like scrolling on tiktok and we're showing you but if you and i say but if you and i say hey tonight we're gonna make a really good dinner we're gonna have some wine and we're gonna like crank not while i'm pregnant and we're gonna crank through some admin stuff like i love the idea of that like you kind of make it fun but i think like that happens in a relationship already i think the point is like is you're opening it up and like you're having the neighbors over for that and like the neighbors are great example like if they're over and i pull out my laptop like i feel like I was being rude.
1:10:46Yeah. Versus like, hey, do you guys want to come over tonight? We'll make some burgers and - It's admin night. Crank out some admin. So I saw somebody, we've had this on our radar for a couple weeks. And then I think that every girl posted it yesterday. And she was like, there's this new thing going around called admin nights. And the most liked comment was not in favor of admin nights. I'm into it. And she and the girl was saying, hey, can we just normalize a time where we hang out with our friends with no screens? And I thought we have mainly one thing I think our friend group is very good about is no phones.
1:11:23Like I I wanted to rebuttal against that comment of like, no, I actually have it in me where we do laptop time and like productive time because I'm not going to go socialize on a Tuesday typically. But I would do this admin nights thing and we would all be more productive. Like, let's be productive together. I'm actually very for that. Yeah, but I'm also like, if you're telling me there's going to be a no screen night, I'm also fully into that. Yes, I'm down for a no screen night, but I'm also down for an admin night and then a couple other nights that you can plan with friends. Let's hear. Explain what you actually do for work night.
1:11:55I'm not into that. I think that is so funny. Really? Yes. I feel like I know what all of our friends do. One of my... In a very detailed manner. I talk to friends about work. I think that that's like a niche, well, not niche, but kind of niche to like the entrepreneur world. But like your friends that just work a nine to five, like not super into their jobs. Like, I don't know what my friends do. Really? Yeah. Yeah. My favorite video, and I'm going to blank on it because it's been about a year since I saw it, but it's that girl. she's like my my best friend she was there when my all my babies were born she knows every single thing about me if you ask me what she did like sometimes she wears scrubs i know she works at a hospital couldn't exactly tell you what it is she does and everyone's like same girl
1:12:56i think it's more common than we think you know how close i am to my friends like i think two of them are project managers i think two of them are customer success managers and one like prices deals when when like what are your friends someone tells me what they do i'll then like i'll listen and i'll i'll then be like okay am i understanding this correctly and i'll try and explain like i'll i'll say what i think they do on a day-to-day basis but you wouldn't do that if somebody was like i'm a project manager you're a bit cool yeah no when we were we were just out for dinner with someone who talked about their work in the education space and i literally was like okay so like person will come to you they'll propose this you'll then take it and connect it with resource why so this is just a saturday night for arson it is actually listen and i ask questions as learned from alex it is very true we did go to dinner with a new couple who lives on our block and we ask one's an interior designer and he's an education tech of some kind and we very we're like how many clients do you have what's your favorite room you do like we i do feel as though i could write a one pager on both their jobs but i love but not too much i just to me it's just the one the one question and then and i feel like i have people spend eight hours a day I also feel like I have a very good understanding of what so like what the neighbors do I didn't like fully understand it at the beginning but now I feel like I really do get it because we had to ask them a lot of questions but what he does is very complicated yeah but like I feel as though I've got a basic understanding and I can ask him questions accordingly yeah and her as well but I think when you're like in your 20s and ask like what your friends actually do for work is great because like a lot of them are in finance like what does it mean he's in finance what does he do in finance what what are the options in finance I don't know you know like we ran into a friend the other day and I was like wait what do you do like I didn't know he lived in Austin it was a friend from college and he's like I sell signs okay well if we were at dinner with him I'd have a bunch of follow-up questions but I think that that this question is a lot I think it's a lot harder when you're younger because when you're younger I think like the rules are like and you're out of college you're so focused on just like support totally so like if you asked me to describe like my 22 year old job it was like the word help helping people would have been used in like pretty much every line but you try to make it sound cooler when you're that age versus on the other side of 30 like there's response you're generally carrying more responsibility and so it's easier to understand here's my one thought because i i don't have so many social nights in me a week right now i wouldn't i would replace admin nights with a mahjong night for me because like i am obsessed right now with mahjong and you seem to be very good at it all i hear about is how you keep winning no i'm just having beginner's luck and like i still have a hard time picking out my line but i'm i'm loving it because it's a nice time to sit and talk but also you're using your brain.
1:16:12So like as a pregnant person, that's very fun for me. I got to give you just all the credit in the world on forming out these girls nights and girls afternoons where you guys are doing fun activities. Well, I think it's really good for me right now to have an activity that is Mahjong. So I texted the group last night. I was like, guys, if we don't keep playing, we're going to get bad. And they're like, okay, when do we want to play? When's the next time? We're going to try for Thursday. Okay. But I'm worried about my calendar. Thursday breakfast or after work? I think a five o 'clocker. Okay. Here's my question to you though.
1:16:48I would love if you learned how to play Mahjong, but I don't know if you're down for that. I feel like I'd be kind of stepping on your toes. No, no. I'm saying I would like you to learn so that I could play against you. Like the other day when our Wi-Fi was out, our Wi-Fi was out for like two hours and we were like, okay. I was like I really wish we had a game we could play right now so I'm totally with you on that I want a great game that we play together I just think like with specifically Mahjong I'm loving seeing what you're doing with the girls and so like I feel like the guys swooping in is yeah I feel like that's not the move and we should find another game okay the other thing about it is I do need you to watch Bobber when I play Mahjong so this is the but we can play when she's asleep I'll take her for dinner I'm just saying if you played then like we would like who would watch Bobber yeah okay here's the thing guys we got a wrapper on up abrupt ending an abrupt ending but that's because honestly let's just be the camera's gonna die and so we're gonna wrap it up while we have 4 % left we love you guys and thank you for listening and watching and watching and like and subscribe and comment.

This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, we’re deep in the 1-to-2 kid transition and debating the question everyone has opinions on: is the biggest life shift going from 0–1 kids, 1–2 kids, or 2+ kids? We get into what actually feels different this time around, what we weirdly care less about, and why confidence the second time somehow still leads to reorganizing half the house (yes sorry we’re still on this topic - WE HAVE UPDATES!)
We kick things off with a mommy & me dance class announcement (MELT), argue (bicker but not bicker of the week) about the best Olympic sport, and Harrison makes a strong case for why cookbooks deserve a comeback in 2026 (I feel like I’m still good with google???). Then we get into life with a 16-month-old who has officially become a food critic, the one grocery item we cannot keep stocked, and the recipes currently saving us (ps. COMMENT: Toddler friendly recipes - we are still ISO new ones to try please!!!!).
From there, we explain why we’re ACTUALLY changing the kids’ rooms (I guess we never told you guys lol), recap Tate’s first night in her big girl room (shockingly smooth), and share what we’re buying for the playroom (plus the one thing we’re absolutely SKIPPING).
We also spiral into learning that moms can apparently catch their own babies (hard no for me), admit we’ve changed our minds on a former “must-have” product, and confirm that toddlers humble you daily (in general lol).
Naturally, we end with the important stuff: whether Zoom calls at coffee shops are socially acceptable, if treadmill miles count as real miles (will this be the new listening vs. reading??), why patterned couches might be an elite parenting hack, and whether admin nights are the future of adult friendships. Plus: mahjong with mom friends - and absolute MUST.
LOVE YOU GUYS (thank you for listening!!!!!)
