In short

Friday Club banter and listener stories covering dating/sex mishaps, taboo office secrets, relationship gripes, and “in the bin” rants (gender reveals, e-scooters, “it’s only a game” talk). They also discuss soccer predictions via Calci and share travel safety concerns from Cambodia.

Guests/backgrounds

The episode is hosted by four regulars—John, Chris, Job (and “Georgie” as a recurring contributor). They trade personal anecdotes: gym/workout photo embarrassment, grumpy partner habits, dick-pic/catfishing talk, and travel nightlife stories.

Key claims

“Gender reveals” and e-scooters should be “in the bin.” “It’s only a game” after a match is a relationship red flag. In Cambodia, the narrator claims he was justified to flee after a woman took him far away and then tried to sexually calm him down. A Hull story claims a man spiked dates with laxatives and then ate the victim’s feces.

Notable examples

“Kinky Jenny” office secret santa—handcuffs trigger panic because the receptionist is revealed to have a murder conviction. Tall Trees clubbing—two men accidentally ride away on a bus, then Rob “shits himself” while escaping a fence and lands on a sleeping tramp.

1:02let's move on go on because i think you know when we're saying we're changing lives this could this could help a lot of people out so what they called when they listen what they call when they when your lenses change when your lenses change colour you know from regular glasses to dark glasses are a bit noncey I think they're on the nonce list to be fair but yeah the film glasses change they go from light to dark when you're in the sun but the issue I've been having is listen I'm an happily married man but we can all nobody can put their hand on this you're grumpy are you back on the jabs? I am grumpy because I'm not happy with him either at the minute but go on what I've been struggling with is you don't actually know when they're in full black mode or not I've had a couple of glurs from yeah I've had a couple of glurs from some disgruntled husbands and boyfriends do you go side eye or do you go full swivel oh no come on just as quick nobody goes full swivel a side eye can be worse yeah it's more creepy more leery i think especially if you're just like in normal glasses see i've actually got a bit of a tip for this you've got to go with the the back stretch you know the oh Oh.

2:43Nice and discreet. Yeah. But you've got to make the moan with it. You've got to make the moan. They're not stupid, John. Katie booked them in for a massage when they got back. If you've got the non's glasses, check they're in night mode. Yeah. Well, it got to the point where my mate who I was with... Non's glasses. we ended up with a cord eventually how old are you? you're just giving a tap of the shoulder you're in dark mode you're good, you're safe I think this might be universal I mean you can do it whether you're happily married or single but if there's an attractive lady in the vicinity you go with the clock so it's just a three o 'clock and then everybody will just give it their It's a natural reaction You can't help it can you 11 o 'clock All the lads will know What you're on about You fucking sound like creeps today lads We do we do Do you know if you were playing Playing in the playoff Final at 3 o 'clock on a Saturday Chris Would you go on the Treadmill at 11 o 'clock Saturday morning What for a run Yep.

4:05I mean, I'm no sports scientist, but maybe a brisk walk to loosen up a bit, maybe. It's not a trick question, Chris. You wouldn't. You wouldn't. No. You'd try and conserve as much energy as you possibly could for the game at 3 o 'clock. Yeah. So we've had a gamer paddle today at 12 o 'clock. Who's chucking dumbbells about at 10 o 'clock? My inconsiderate partner. but it's just a game of paddle John isn't it it's not a playoff final no but it's as important as when it's his first game against Sedgian and his pal but you'd have thought it's a pub you know if your partner did I mean not just the treadmill if you had a sleepless night or something you'd think your partner would dig in and pull yourself out the shit wouldn't you or grump not just lazy Chris right Right.

5:03Just ecstatic. Was that with a sulk? With an ear of sulk about it? Or just lazy? No, no. He was happy. Happy and lazy. Happy and lazy. Yeah. I just remember one night. It was blatantly going over my head. And there was a lot of time. I was at the front. John was at the back of the court. And he probably had to travel three yards. and he's just left it. I said, what are you doing? He went, I thought it was on your side. So it would have meant me travelling backwards 10 yards off balance to try and just get it back. And John could probably step three yards and just whack. But it was a good game.

5:50I enjoyed it. Yeah, not my side. Yeah, I've been a bag of shit. I'm so unfit. so I need to get back in the saddle. You could have gone to a night class. So buddy, I got tacked because when I go to that gym and go to Sierra Leemur in Manchester, they like a photograph, post-workout photograph. And I didn't have mine off, which I have got a lot of stick about actually, saying you let park it in your head, get it off. But I put on a few pounds. Anyway, there was one last week and a caution message. I don't know if he was pissed, actually, because there was a bit of aggression to his tone. Oh, well done.

6:34You've done a workout. Fucking grow up. Is workout photos going in the bin? Well, I think they'll be in the bin for a lot of people, to be honest. But it's one of them. Is it very similar to a firework display video? Probably. Somebody commented on your wedding photos, Johnny, about my stance for pictures. and you're now the old pencil soldier with one arm rigid down your front yeah and i can't unsee it now must just be a natural react to my natural stance for you like a school boy school boy stance but it looks pathetic so you're going one arm straight like a soldier and the other arm i'm assuming round your nearest yeah but it's like just straight you know rather than what do you do with the other arm in your pocket in your pocket maybe maybe start loosening up a little bit it looks stiff chris back in the day it had been around another bird that's what it'll have been i'm going in early by the way yeah more than welcome chris hello lads blah blah blah I've just been told this story by one of our lasses work colleagues and thought it was proper cosh fodder so here it is.

7:55A friend of my girlfriend's work colleague, let's call her Anne, had been seeing a bloke and they'd already been on a few dates. The fella was a nice looking normal bloke by all accounts and she'd been enjoying their time together. After the first In those few dates, the bloke, let's call him Sean, asked Anne if she'd like to go to his house for the next date. Instead of spending all this money on restaurant dinners, he suggested that he'd make a sit-down tea for them both and they could share a bottle of vino and it would be nice and chill. Of course, Anne agreed. She said it'd be a nice evening and they penciled it in.

8:35She turned up to the date and all was going smoothly until... After she wolfed down the snap, felt a rumbling in her tummy. That's one of my worst nightmares, that. Oh. Somebody else's house? Yeah. And that would have been one of your first worst nightmares. She can fart for me. Anne immediately knew she was about to shut her pants and asked to use the toilet. He said, of course, and let her know there's a downstairs and an upstairs lav, and he told her not to worry. She shot off like a bolt and immediately let rip on a mudslide down the back of the bog. Apparently it was like a bloodbath in there.

9:16Has she gone downstairs or upstairs? I'd like to think she's gone upstairs. I would anyway. It's obvious then, yeah. She's just got to go wherever he directs her. The shitter was absolutely caked and worst of all, it was completely blocked. Anne squeamishly edged downstairs and apologised to Sean about the length of time she'd spent in the lavatory and let him know she'd have to go home because she was feeling queasy. That's a bad end. She was ready to curl another one out but didn't tell Sean that. Apparently, Sean was quite understanding and apologised if he'd cooked Anne anything dodgy and had promised to grab the number for a taxi number to take her home.

10:02He trotted off upstairs in search of the taxi number and left Anne to ponder over her diarrhoea-related anxiety. Ten minutes passed and Anne began wondering what was taking Sean so long after he claimed he was only grabbing a number for a taxi. She wandered upstairs after about 15 minutes had passed and when she opened the bathroom door, she found Sean on his hands and knees scoffing her shite. Shut up. No! No! Get out of here! Shut up. I'm not too sure of the details of what occurred next but apparently she made like a tree and fucked off sharpish. Anne rang the bobbies and explained to them that she suspected that she'd been spiked with laxatives on the count of the lava-like eruption from her arse.

10:51She expected to be laughed at but apparently the Rossers came to pick her up and dropped her off at home. They even asked her to come in and make a statement because they'd heard of other similar reports. Now all the names in the story are made up, but one thing I can tell you for sure is this all took place in Hull. So lads, there's an unassuming bloke who lives in Hull and fills unsuspecting ladies full of dulcalax, dulcalax, and then munches on their turds for his own pleasure. Sick world we live in, eh, boys? I mean, come on. You know, not even the act of it, right? He knows she's on her way home.

11:27Surely he can wait another 20 minutes, half an hour, till Taxi's picked her up. until he gets his spoon out. Do you think he just keeps a spoon in his top pocket, inside pocket, ready for... ready to go? Oh, my God. That was shooting that, wasn't it? Just shoot that. Shoot it. How calculated he was. Like, I'll come round to mine and... Yeah. Spike knows what he's doing, doesn't he? I mean, does it have to be human, Shai? I'm sure he can just go around picking dog shit up, couldn't he? He really wants to eat some turd. I don't think you, I don't, I want to say that dog muck can make you a lot iller than human.

12:11Or can it? Do you get ill from human batch? It can do, can't it? Can you all make it go blind or is that dog poo? I think that's where I'm getting the dog from, but that might be an urban myth from, you know, when your grandma used to tell you, oh, stand back from that, you'll go blind if you touch it. Again, it's probably the whole scenario, isn't it, that he's getting off on? Her still in the house. The thing is, I mean, when you hear about stuff like this, you imagine some gremlin, don't you? You know, some right weirdo. But if he's renowned for it, he's getting dates, not an issue. He's getting the ladies round.

12:51And it was all going well, by all accounts. Good looking fella. Yeah. No, just shoot him and let him just fade, go out with estuary. Yeah. Just get him on his bike for me. Is that a criminal offence? Well, it's like spiking, isn't it? Yeah, you are. Yeah, I'd say. I'd say he needs to. But once it's left the body, is it no longer your property? And it's the property of the man who holds the house. Yeah, that's a very good point, John. Can we move on? Yeah. it's making me gip a little bit like is there out in the pipe Georgie hello chaps one thing I would love to put in the bin are gender reveals what is the fucking point in a gender reveal they seem to have become a massive thing the last 5-10 years I don't get it, go to the doctor to find out your sex or don't find out at all why do you need to throw this massive pie, there's someone dance about it cut cakes, pop balloons with the pink all the blue crap in it, it looks ridiculous if you're a man involved in it, you look fucking ridiculous so stop doing it You've only got two options, male or female.

13:56No matter what the result, you've even got to pretend it's happy, even if you aren't happy with it. It looks stupid, so stop doing it. Get them in the fucking bin. Was that on double speed? I was going to say, very fast talker. I don't think it is, you know. I think I've heard that. I think that's just how it is. Do you think it's that pent up? He's just needed to get it out that quick? Yeah. And I'm with him, by the way, for the bin. Just tell people, yes, boy or a girl. You can go in the bin for me Yeah And me What's the benefit? Like who Is it for the man? Is it for Everybody else's benefit?

14:34Is it for Instagram's benefit? Surely the dad Wants now to do with it I've seen Have you seen the ones Where they do the gender reveal And they don't know And they obviously They might have three girls Or whatever And he's obviously wants a boy wants the mix-up or vice versa and they pop the balloon and you could just see the disappointment in their eyes. Drain from their eyes? Yeah. I've only got two girls. Yeah. I've only got two boys. To be fair, it would be a good crack if you were the dad of like two white folk to just put some brown stuff in there. And there's what? there's one black person there's one black bloke at the gender reveal and we just looked at him gives it one of them

15:30that'll be a race reveal

15:35I'm going in lads I'm going in the Cambodian chase right this one comes from a trip I took travelling around South East Asia I was in Cambodia for a few nights and was trying to suss out the nightlife. The problem was it felt like most tourists had given the place a wide berth. The only foreigners I could see in the bars were fellas in their 50s who looked like they were there for one thing and one thing only. Naturally the majority of the women working the beer street were prostitutes so the whole place had a fairly unusual atmosphere but I refused to accept defeat if I'm in a Cambodian city for three nights, I'm getting a piss-up in.

16:23My mate, who I was travelling with, had already thrown in the towel that I decided to preserve, preserve, persevere on my own. It's not easy, that one, is it? Wrapped yourself up in cling film.

16:42Eventually, I stumbled across a bar that seemed full of locals rather than tourists. I got chatting to a Cambodian woman who looked to be in her early 30s. Her English was limited, but we managed to communicate well enough. We started drinking this absolute savage Cambodian rum together. And after a while, I somehow managed to secure the kiss. Then she tells me she loves white men and asks if I want to go back to her place. Now, under normal circumstances, you might ask where she lives, how you're getting there, or perhaps conduct some basic due diligence. I did none of these things. I just said, yeah.

17:30I assumed we'd get a taxi. Instead, she walks outside, hops onto a Vespa, and hands me a helmet. At this stage, she's fairly twisted. i'm fairly twisted and my judgment has completely left the building i jump on the back she tells me her house is only a few minutes away grand off we go except these are the longest few minutes of my life 10 minutes pass i'm still on the back of the Vespa. 15 minutes still going and as we're traveling further and further away from the city I'm becoming increasingly unaware that this might not be the romantic adventure I had envisaged. The surroundings are changing, the buildings are getting sparser, we're heading into more suburban and rural territory and I can see countryside in the distance.

18:29So I asked her how long left, she gives me some vague indication that we're nearly there I'm thinking this is definitely not a few minutes eventually I ask her to pull over she ignores me I ask again, nothing at this stage I'm starting to think I may have made a catastrophic error so I come out with the oldest trick in the book I'm going to be sick she pulls over I get off and tell her this is a lot further than a few minutes I need to know where we're going I demand to see the destination on Google Maps and rather than showing me where we're going she decides the best way to calm me down is to pull my shorts down and start performing a sexual act on me don't do the job all is forgiven now for about two minutes I'm thinking this isn't necessarily the worst development but then I have a moment of clarity.

19:31I'm thinking hang on a minute this is far too good to be too so I tell her right I need to go back. She grabs my arm I pull away and something in my head just switches. I decide I'm getting the fuck out of there so I leg it. She's back on the Vespa following me shouting for me to get back on. At this point I'm absolutely convinced I'm being pursued through the Cambodian countryside. I see a fence. I think brilliant escape route. I attempt to vault over. I absolutely snop myself straight in the metal bin on the other side. No dignity whatsoever. I pick myself up, look around, and she's still coming around the corner on the Vesper.

20:17So I start running. I reckon I've covered two kilometres trying to get away from this woman. Eventually I managed to lose her Walk until I reached somewhere I recognised And eventually get a taxi back to civilisation So I've got to ask Was I just being paranoid cunt Or was I completely justified in thinking Something seriously dodgy was going on I'll be honest, initially I thought He was being a bit soft here Running off But the more you think about it He could be strung up on a bed, but they've all got a harvest in. I think he would have been in bother. Yeah. The fact that she's chased him. I think he's swam the channel there.

21:04I think he could be brown bread. As if that was a go-to to keep him sweet, though. Just a little wank, back stick. It might have been a blowy. I don't know, but yeah, I'll get him. Stupid English pig. if he runs off now well it's never going to happen is it? I think he's yeah he's done right though if it was the other way around you know if it was a female on the back of a Vespa you'd be saying get the hell out of there yeah and I mean I've never been but I don't think it's the safest a place as Cambodia is it? yeah it sounds like you're disappearing don't it? What you've got to take from that for me is, right, he's still alive and he did get a little Tommy on a blowy eye at job.

21:55For Wank. Small wins. Yeah, no, I think he's, it's best to fly on the air of caution in that situation. When you get an int at field, I mean, bless her, she might have been good intention. Why did she tell him it's a couple of minutes, a few minutes, and then 15 minutes later it's still not here not good enough how long you giving it probably about an hour and 40 me

22:26an hour and 40 at one of my lungs

22:38i wonder if he uh i wonder if he threw the helmet back or running with his helmet on. It's about to just walk with the helmet back. Give us another one from the pipe, Georgie boy. Right, lads. One thing I think needs getting in the bin of e-scooters. Like, these fucking things are quicker than fucking cars and people are fucking whizzing about on pavements. And they'll get me started on fucking fully grown blokes dividing them because you look like fucking bellends. So, yeah, I think e-scooters and in particular, fully grown-ass men slash women riding around on e-scooters. You look like fucking nonces.

23:19Cheers, boys. Up the cosh. Before the season even kicks off, soccer fans are already making predictions. Who wins the league? Who qualifies for Europe? And who's lifting the trophy at season's end? On Calci, America's number one prediction market platform, you're trading against peers in a live market, meaning there's no house. And as the probability changes, you can buy in and out of your position. For a limited time, download the Calci app and use code CUP26 to get$10 when you trade 10. K-A-L-S-H-I, Calci. Trade the beautiful game. 18 plus only restrictions and eligibility requirements apply.

23:52Event contract trading involves risk and may not be suitable for all investors. Prices, values, and available markets may differ from those mentioned. For more information, see calci.com slash regulatory. You know, whenever I've seen a large percentage of grown-ups who wear them have all got full track suits on and one of them, a man bag, that's what I've noticed. And then balaclava type things. Balaclavas. Yeah. I think they're actually outrageous, to be aware. You know, like the speed that the kids can get on them. They're as fast as a motorbike. I think the ones that you could just hire on street, they're not that, you know, in city centres, they're not that fast, are they?

24:37Or are they? Well, if I'd have been a bit not as lucky, I could have injured myself in Rome. Oh, we got him in Rome. You've got to be going 20 mile an hour, aren't you? I was on the phone to my dad the other day and I could, you know, when you speak to somebody, you can tell they're distracted. Yeah. And after about five seconds, just went, just seen her. lad 25 year old on a mobility scooter i was like all right and when he had a he had his toddler in the front basket i went all right sound can you believe it that was it end of story there's a woman near me and she must be

25:2922 stone she's a big one big big one and she has a mobility scooter but she goes past my house on her way to co-op with a boyfriend who must be 12 stone went through, sat on her knee that's cute isn't it I bet it's comfy it's just like he's in a big city

26:02where's he bastard um scooters in the bin is it a bit barry yeah no for for the for the danger of them really and who's driving them it's the it's the scrot in it troublemakers i'm just worried worried that we're stepping into Jeremy Vine territory here. You're like, oh, yes, these electric scooters zooming around the streets on the pavement. For me, they are in the bin because of the danger aspect. If you're driving 30 mile an hour and a kid comes over at 20 mile an hour into your path, it's a 50 mile an hour crash, isn't it? So the e-scooter's in the bin? The e-scooter's in the bin for me on safety reasons.

26:47There are safety reasons. E-scooters in the bin. What an arsehole. I am not wanting a kid to get knocked off a scooter. I wasn't referring to you, John. I'm just saying in general. Oh, well, it sounded like it. Who is a victim?

27:05Especially when I get knocked off my scooter when I'm only with a bite of milk. I've got one here. Have you increased your dose this week or something, John? Have you increased your dose on the jobsies? no i'm still still ticking about the the spin the session this morning before the battle extra tetchy isn't he chris yeah very very much so i've got one here and i'm i am sounding a bit pervy today after the the opening fly but um sod it there's no there's no private conversations in this establishment, is there? I want to hear from the lady listeners. You know where we talk about the catfishing on the dating apps?

27:50Like we've talked about men and women turning up, not getting what you expected. Well, the other day, I mean, I think me and Rose have been together 22 years now, and I think this might be only the second time I've ever sent a dick pic. Yeah, what? and we've talked about it before a bit of a laugh you know I was upstairs I mean granted it worked were you erect? I'd say semi-inflated and what was your technique? what was your picture? well this is my point I was in the shower it looked bloody impressive I tell you what the angles that you can get and I reckon Rose Foss I thought it was somebody else's when I had a look back even though it was only half mast it's just the angles you can get did you push it down no it was I kind of went bare so I went kind of right in on the stomach and then followed the line I'll send it you close up did you get a nice Yeah, send it to us.

29:06Did you get a nice glimmer through the window? You did, yeah. It was shimmering. But surely, like I said, I've never done it before, maybe once or twice. Were you sex? And it was done as a bit of a joke, but it worked, like I said. But ladies that are in the dating world and they get sent these pictures, Surely, like the catfish, with the angles that I see you can get, there must be some disappointments. You can't be sending dick pics out of you, man. Obviously, you can to Rose, but you can't be dick pics circulating around group chats and like yours. You can't send them, can you? I reckon the young 'uns will be still these days.

29:58You think? Yeah. You know, if you're on Tinder and all that, if the lady sends a revealing picture, then the man will probably send a revealing picture and it'll be to and froing. What I'm saying is... I probably don't think that the women should send them either, really. Might be the Barry. No, you've got to be careful, haven't you? But yeah, I'm sure there's ladies that have received these kind of pictures and have thought, oh, and then turned up for said action and been... And it's not been as impressive as what you... Yeah. that's all i'm saying the month doesn't matter if the conversation's flowing that way and every everybody concerned is horny just a picture of a big dick can't be too much for people can it it's a lot better than a picture of a small dick at least get a little bit of um what's the word just leave a little bit to the imagination you know right yeah just like just send it to the helmet yeah i'll cut the tip off yeah just put like a face emoji on the end and then that three little water thing you're just coming out of the end there we go yeah leave someone to the imagination yeah but how many emails have we had when people have said we got chatting and then a few fruity pictures were exchanged i'm not i mean i don't know i've uh no you can't i don't think you can be sending dick pics i used to be open to the videos i didn't mind the multimedia videos what are you masturbating open to receiving them oh right right I'll go in just before you do Chris there's a couple George has been cc'd in a couple of emails listen to Friday Club from last week I don't know what George looks like has not watched the videos but it's clear to me that the reason George can't get his leg over is that he's got terrible crack need to spend some time with you boys work on his patter and then he'll surely have more success Keep up the good work.

31:54All the best, George. Well, we can't do much more than spend three weeks in America, William, can we? I know. Here he is. Any action? Just a brief update, Georgie. Just a yes or no, then you can go again if that's all right. No, no action. Did something happen Friday, though, George? Yeah, but it was a failed attempt.

Read the full transcript

32:18Failed attempt? Did you go on a date? Yeah, I just met up with a bird and went absolutely nowhere. How far into it did you not go nowhere? A good few hours of my time. Few hours? I wonder what she thought. I wonder when she thought. It's not really working for me. I reckon a few minutes. No, I think I can pinpoint the moment where it went downhill. Oh, go on then. The farm. Is it that thing going on, did you? No, so we were talking about holidays. and she mentioned she'd been to amsterdam now gone oh yeah i went to amsterdam a few years ago and i can't just like start digging myself a hole because to be clear i didn't get a prostitute there but the way i dug myself a hole made it seem like i did surely you should surely just surely just fill the hole by saying to be fair i never went with a prostitute when i wanted you i said whole hole filled it's that by that point it just sounded like I had.

33:21Can you just give us an insight? Into what? This is important, Job. What were your exact words? I can't remember, but we were talking about how expensive it was. And I was like, oh, yeah, a lot of my friends ended up spending... Well, Amsterdam in general. And a lot of my friends ended up spending over£1 ,000 in one weekend there. and she goes, oh, I wonder what's on. And I'm going, well, yeah, a few of them did get prostitutes. And then I sort of stumbled and gone, oh, no, just to be clear, I didn't. And it just seemed like I did in the moment. Gently by association, do you think? Yeah, you put yourself in them circles, John, George.

34:08Right, I've actually got a question for you, boys. Oh, go on. Going on holiday with a few mates in a few weeks. Yeah. I was meant to be going. organised the lads trip. The group chat got made the other day. One of my mates has put his girlfriend in the group chat. What? Is she coming? She's coming. Oh. So I'll tell you what you need to go then, George. Get your mate really pissed and try it on with her. Not doing that. How many lads are going? Six lads. One girl. Well, since she's been added to the chat Another one of the boys' girlfriends has been added since Oh They've been having conversations backstage Yeah And what's the destination?

34:58Croatia It's not a large trip if one of the girlfriends is going Yeah But what's the approach? Crack on with the trip Or say something I would say Kick her out a group Admin kick her out and then just don't let her come. Has she paid for it in that? Yeah, she has.

35:24Change the hotels and just let them two stay at the other hotel and ignore them for the weekend for me. It's obviously going to turn into a couple's trip in George, isn't it? No, the other four lads are single. So there's only two lads in relationship. But still, change hotels. We aren't telling them. I think it's bad form like even if you're just inviting somebody else you know without saying anything yeah just without saying who's this number in group chat nobody's said anything but yeah you should have the conversation beforehand oh I'm bringing our Sandra is it no I am is it okay yeah Yeah, that's my attitude with it.

36:14It's not the fact she's coming. It's the fact he's spoken about it as a lad's trip and then done that. Is he not allowed to go on his own, George? That's my guess, John. Not good enough. At what, 25, 26? Yeah, 26. I wonder if he's floated the idea past that and she's gone, I'm coming. you're not going on your own and then he's bottled it and gone alright I'll lead you to the group chat now to be honest Georgie unfortunately I don't think he can do anything if she's paid her money and you's all paid up are you going with the in the airport or just sat crossing your arms facing the totally wrong direction to her I don't know is that a bit extreme that's what I'm asking what's all her approach because as you know George but Petty.

37:10Petty is John Parkin's middle name. Eggly Bop speaking to the birds. Are you all close? Are you all mates, would you say? Yeah, yeah, we're all mates. That might be alright, man. Fine, I don't have an issue with her coming, but it's the way he's gone about doing it. Yeah. And we can't even make a stance so it doesn't happen in the future. Yeah. Put your foot down. Get on their flick-ons, Georgie.

37:43So, hopefully she looks like the evangelistic, whatever they call her, to flick on for Georgie, boy. It needs good service. Very good service. Talking Kelly Brook in her prime service. That's what we need for Georgie. Quick message, gentlemen, from our friends at Salee. Heroes. For you especially, John. They certainly were in America. Well, Sealy, if you don't know, is the eSIM service app brought to you by the creators of NordVPN, which we love, don't we? Obviously, you know I'm not very technical. All you need to do is download the app to your phone, install an eSIM so you can use data abroad instead of getting them horrible, horrible roaming charges.

38:30We've all been stung with a hefty bill in the past, haven't we? Yes. But since this Sealy, very affordable. Really good prices. I used it in Dubai and it was very, very affordable. It saves you time as well. You don't need to wait in line. You know, when you get to airport, foreign sims, when they're there with cardboard. Scrambling for Wi-Fi. Yeah, and it's compatible with iOS or Android devices and it offers plans in over 200 destinations. Download Saley in your app store and use the code COSH at checkout to get an exclusive 15 % off your first purchase. the details are in the podcast episode description box right I'm going in hi fellas I've been listening for just over a year now blah blah blah and thought it was finally time to get in touch with a story from my first ever full time job honestly if this was in a film or TV show you'd say the writer had taken it too far but I swear on my kids lives this actually happened keep me anonymous I've changed everyone's name although everyone who works at the same place in Essex in the early 2000s might not need too much help working out who I'm talking about.

39:44So picture the scene. I'm 19, fresh out of college and starting my first proper job in an office. The workforce was basically split into three groups. You had a telephone sales team, predominantly mums who wanted something that fitted around the school room. Then there was the youngsters like me working in the office and design studio the next to fuck all but putting up with it because it was supposed to be a stepping stone to a proper career. And then there was the senior management basically the youngsters who had somehow failed to escape and were still there in the 40s. There was however one exception the receptionist let's call her jenny jenny was tiny petite quiet as a mouse and i mean quiet she could appear beside your desk with a pile of posts without making a single fucking noise you turn around and she'd be standing there she dressed very prim and proper blouse skirt sensible shoes more hyacinth bouquet dress sense rather than linda block from dream team She wasn't particularly sociable either, kept herself to herself.

40:59We knew she had two kids, but apart from that, nobody really knew anything about her home life. She was basically the last person in the office you'd expect to have an interesting story. Then, one summer, the owner of the business decided we all needed to bond. So he booked a team building afternoon, an all-inclusive river cruise. 40 or 50 people on a boat unlimited alcohol nowhere to escape what could possibly go wrong? well before we'd even got on the boat heads started to turn because Jenny had arrived wearing leather trousers high heels and a shirt slash blouse thing that made her look like Adam fucking Ant and as the afternoon went on the drink started flowing the sales mum who had clearly decided that the all-inclusive meant to see if you can bankrupt the company started playing Never Have I Ever.

41:58Do you know the rules of Never Have I Ever? Oh, it says here. Know the game? Someone says, Never Have I Ever Done X and anyone who has done X has to drink. Like, Never Have I Ever Knocked Out One... Knocked One Out Of A Midget Porn. Drink Up, JP. It started fairly innocently. Never have I ever had a one night stand. Drink. Never have I ever had a threesome. A few more drink. Then it took a fucking turn. Never have I ever been dogging. Drink. Never have I ever been choked during sex. Drink. Never have I ever tried bondage. Drink. Never have I ever done water sports drink never have i ever been fisted and here's where the story gets interesting because jenny drank on every single one at first we thought she was just joining in then she started getting pissed and the more pissed she got the more she started talking it turned out our quiet little receptionist had quite the story with her now ex-husband.

43:15Let's just say that the woman we'd previously known for quietly handing out post had apparently been living a considerably more adventurous life than the rest of us had ever imagined. Anyway, Monday morning comes round, the leather trousers are gone, the adamant look has disappeared. Jenny is back behind reception in her blousing skirt, quietly handing out the post like nothing has happened. But something has changed. Behind her back, we started calling her Kinky Jenny. And that's where you'd think the story ends. It doesn't. A few months later, we're drawing names for the office secret Santa.

43:58My mate Dave, who sat next to me in the design studio, pulled Jenny's name out the hat. We looked at each other. This was fucking brilliant. Kinky Jenny for Secret Santa. Obviously, we had to get something inappropriate. Something that would have the whole office pissing themselves. Except there was a£10 limit. Dave didn't fancy blowing the budget just for a joke, so he went looking elsewhere. A few days later, he told me he'd found the perfect present. Apparently, he'd come across some bloke selling bizarre collection of stuff on the market. Military memorabilia. Zippo lighters. Bongs. Vibrators.

44:38Basically the sort of store where you don't ask too many questions. And amongst the collection was a pair of metal handcuffs. Ten quid. Perfect. Secret Santa arrives. Everyone gathers round. People are drinking. Everyone's laughing. And eventually, it's Jenny's turn. She stands up. She opens the present. And sees the handcuffs. and her face goes absolutely fucking crimson. The sales team immediately start making jokes. The youngsters are pissing themselves because we know exactly why she's got them. Kinky Jenny has been given handcuffs. Job done. Except, not everyone's laughing. The senior management team weren't amused at all.

45:25They wanted to know who bought them. Why did they buy them? And suddenly, the atmosphere in the room changed. Jenny made an excuse and left. Dave was now absolutely shitting himself because he was convinced he was getting dragged into a disciplinary meeting. Eventually, I was questioned by my line manager. I explained that it was a joke based on a drinking game we'd all done on the river cruise. That seemed to calm things down slightly. The senior team tried to get the party going again, but the mood had gone. Nobody could work out why they'd reacted so badly. then a few weeks later jenny left the company no leaving drinks no whip round no cake nothing we just got a short email telling us she'd left and that the youngsters were being called into a meeting that's when we found out jenny hadn't just been some quiet receptionist she'd been working there as part of a rehabilitation program to help convicted criminals get back into employment only the senior management team had known and when Jenny opened the secret Santa present and saw the handcuffs she hadn't thought, oh brilliant they're taking the piss out of me because of the drinking game she thought they know, she thought we'd somehow discovered her past she thought the handcuffs were a message we know what you've done cynical voice She then decided to leave At this point we're sitting in the meeting thinking Fucking hell, what have we actually done?

47:07So obviously Being early 2000s office workers With absolutely no sense of privacy Professionalism or restraint We went straight onto Google And that's when we found out Jenny had been a convicted murderer Oh my god she'd shot her husband with a shotgun while he was asleep she'd originally received a lie sentence and served around seven years before a retrial was brought brought more details about the relationship to lie including allegations of abuse threats of sexual coercion and the conviction had suddenly been reduced to manslaughter and she was released and suddenly the fucking secret Santa present wasn't funny anymore because she'd spent months calling her kinky Jenny behind her back.

48:02Jesus Christ. We joked about her sex life, we bought her handcuffs and completely unknowingly we'd handed a woman with a history of domestic abuse and a murder conviction a pair of handcuffs in front of the entire fucking office. And the really strange thing? she'd been the one telling us about those experiences herself on the boat which is the bit that still doesn't quite sit right with me because apparently the quiet little receptionist had one hell of a past and none of us had a fucking clue. So boys, the next time you're doing Secret Santa at work maybe don't buy the receptionist handcuffs because you never know what you're going to uncover.

48:45It's always the quiet ones up the fucking cosh. Jesus, that took lots of turns. I still don't think it's manslaughter. If he's asleep and you're shooting with a shotgun, I still don't think it's manslaughter. Pre-meditated. Still murder, innit? You think it's murder, innit? Nah, it's still murder. But obviously there's circumstances that might lead up to it. It might not be a longer sentence, but it's still murder. It's still murder for me anyway. Yeah, you think there's other routes out rather than blowing it all in him.

49:23I mean she's on this boat playing this stupid game and decided just to get involved even though the stuff that she was talking about was carried out against her wishes somewhere it might have been she had a drink though Chris all you can drink on the boat no escape At what point do you think I'm going to see if I can get the whole fist in Just let them get the fist in Let them get a lot in Get the throw in and all For me that was a plot twist They couldn't have They couldn't have actually presented her with any What's gift Get a shotgun Shotgun cartridge A shotgun dildo Yeah, bowl of porridge

50:18Yeah, we remember one of them plastic guns you get at fair. God bless Jenny, yeah? Inky Jenny. My fist, man. Jesus Christ. Where'd you get a shotgun? I can't believe that's all you're taking from this story. What, the fisting? Yeah. Pissing. Oh, you know, he's come up. Yeah. but yeah not be fisting don't be pissing on anybody else will he I did piss on his chips uh huh how else in the pipe George alright lads here's another one it's got to go in the bin this it shouldn't even be up for the base but I'm interested to hear your point of view so it's just been at the match your team's got pumped you're on a foul route you spent a fortune on drink you come home and your missus just goes it's only a game man It's only a bit of fun.

51:12It's just men kicking a football around. Like, are you wanting divorce? Like, are you wanting problems? Because, fuck it, it's not just a game, is it? Do you know what I mean? Ben, straight away, fuck off. It's just how angry people are in these diggies. Yeah. Human. There's proper emotion behind it, isn't there? It's just, yeah. I can half understand where they're coming from. Because if they don't get it, they don't get it, do they? it's a mentality shift I remember after after our defeat to Argentina in the World Cup semi-final I remember taking a similar approach just the way we're dealing with the disappointment well it's just a game isn't it yeah do you think she's trying to make him feel better well she just doesn't want him moping around how does she put rest at night yeah in the bin for me yeah just keep quiet and just order the Chinese or whatever yeah Yeah, not at all.

52:12Oh, what a very good day apart from that sound. Although, that's another thing. They can navigate a different conversation. Or even, despite the result, did you have a good day? Did you spend some good time with your mates? Job done. I'll tell you what is quashing it all straight away. Fancy a blowy? A sex act. Win or lose. he's not bothered he's just been pumped six yeah just a game then carry on with your evening it's just a game then carry on carry on with your evening perfectly perfectly fine it's just a game in the bin yeah get them in in the bin yeah get them not women in general just that comment just a game have you seen oh really sorry it's not the news story this week about the builders in Belgium that have found the gold in the cellar no so they're doing a renovation in a cellar, I don't know if it's an office block a house or what and they've pulled a wall down and inside the wall hidden is bags of gold bullions and coins 7.5 million pounds worth and they've told the police the police have now confiscated and are doing an investigation into where the gold has come from and who it belongs to.

53:43Stamps on it are around the 60s and 70s. And whether it's come from criminal activity. So then it's just going to be, I'm telling you what, I'm telling you right now, I am leaving with my DeWalt case full. Yeah. Oh, aye. With a Popeye's arm dragging it out. In fact, just keep quiet. Just keep quiet and just text so much out every... Build the wall back up. Knock it down in the morning. Text some gold out. Build it back up at night. Just keep doing that for as long as it takes to get it all out. But then I was thinking, with the story being in the news, I wonder if there's somebody in prison right now going, oh, my God.

54:32They found it. They found it. Possibly. Fuck. He's doing his 15, 20 stretch, knowing that he's got seven and a half million quid's worth of gold, tucked away in an office basement, and he's gone, oh, fuck. This is a much lesser scale, but I remember my brother finding 20 quid in Sutherland Leger Centre, and he handed it in. Oh, which one? Oh, and my dad bollocked him.

55:05and he's learned his lesson because every penny's a prisoner now i i'd be more inclined to hand 20 quid in than i would seven and a half million quid yeah that's why i said it was much less scale but yeah but i i think i'd hand i'd hand 20 quid in but if if if it were i don't know if i found 10 000 quid i don't know what i'm doing there lads thing is you know for a fact that The fella that you handed into is just going to go, cheers, mate, and just put it straight in his pocket. Yeah. Yeah, I'll put it in lost property with the goggles. I think that was exactly what my dad said. Yeah. Yeah. A few airbands, goggles, and one armband.

55:46If I found a wallet I'd hand it in. Yeah, snap. Of course you would. Of course you would. But, like, just cold hard cash. Do you know what I'm like? who's even going back? If you've lost 20 quid, you've lost 20 quid, haven't you? You're not going, oh, I'll get back to the leisure and see if anybody's handed it in. Yeah, I wonder if they regret it, the lads in Belgium. You'd like to think they're really 10 million pounds worth one here, in the moment you get two and a half out. Yeah, I was thinking that. A couple of days in a butty box. Oh, I'm still regretted, by the way, in case you're wondering.

56:26if i'd have invested that at 12 it's probably worth about 140 now 150

56:34one for the ditch one for the ditch aye the tall trees bus adventure all right chaps here's one of many stupid stories from back in the day This one involved two of my mates, Alan and Rob, sometime in the late 90s. Back then, we used to go clubbing at a place called Tall Trees in the North East. It was a massive club in the countryside that attracted court loads of people from all over. Have you heard of it? I've heard of it, I've never been. In the arm. Oh, I'm used to go all the time. Lars Lee's. Yeah. On this particular night, our group of lads were being even rowdier than usual. Eventually, Alan and Rob got themselves thrown out for organising a long jump competition inside the venue.

57:28Imagine how funny that would be if they were properly. If you're separating people and that.

57:38It's done as that, has. how they thought that was acceptable behaviour in a nightclub remains a mystery anyway the rest of us carried on with the night and the start the story really starts with the two freshly evicted idiots standing out with standing outside in the freezing cold before mobile phones were a thing they had no clue what to do tall trees wasn't exactly near a town and most people arrived by coach, taxi or designated driver. With at least four hours until kicking out time and nowhere near enough money for a taxi home, they hatched a genius drunk plan. Let's find a bus and sleep on it until everyone's finished.

58:23So, they wandered through the coach car park, pressing buttons on bus doors until eventually one opened. Result. They climbed aboard, headed straight for the back seats and settled in for what they thought would be a nice warm kit. At some point later, Rob opened his eyes. The bus was full and the bus was moving. Moving down a motorway and panic set in immediately. He shook Alan awake. Alan! Alan! We're on a fucking bus! Both of them stumbled down the aisle shouting at the driver Stop the bus! Stop the bus! The driver, no doubt wondering where these two clowns had appeared from, pulled over. The pair jumped off and stood at the side of the road watching the bus disappear into the distance.

59:16Accompanied by a chorus of wanker signs and abuse from the rest of the passengers. Hungover, confused and completely disorientated, they tried to work out where they were. After a bit of walking they recognised the area. Unfortunately they also realised they'd been travelling in completely the wrong direction. At this point a sensible person might have found a phone and called for help. Not these two. Both still lived with their parents and apparently considered phone and home to be a fate worse than death. Alan suddenly remembered they weren't too far from the industrial estate where he worked.

59:58Maybe I can get into work and we can wait there. Naturally, that became the new plan. Off they trudged across dark farmers' fields towards the distant glow of civilisation. After battling nettles, muddy potholes and every other obstacle the countryside could throw at them, they eventually reached the industrial estate. Only one problem remained. A seven-foot fence. Alan scrambled over it without any trouble. Rob, however, was significantly worse for wear. After much struggling, he finally reached the top and swung a leg over. And then disaster struck. Splat. He'd shit himself.

1:00:44Splat was in bold. Full stop. I'm thinking he's got caught on the spikes or something. And then I thought, splat? What's that? What's splat? And if he fell off the other side and place-planted or what? Ah, he's shite. In the resulting panic, he lost his footing completely and crashed over the other side of the fence. The landing was immediately followed by an enormous FUCKING HOW! Not from Rob, and not from Alan, but from a tramp who, against all odds, happened to be sleeping exactly where Rob landed. I know. Mental. What followed was a chaotic, shit-scented scuffle as Rob tried to untangle himself from a stunned and very angry hobo.

1:01:33Alan was completely useless. He was laughing so hard he could barely stand. The kind of laughter where your legs stop functioning altogether. Unfortunately, the tramp eventually turned his attention towards Alan and charged at him, throwing wild windmill punches like a bargain bin, Rocky Balboa. That was enough motivation for both lads to run fast. Having escaped, Rob attempted some emergency damage control with a handful of leaves before deciding to abandon his underwear completely and go commando. It is the go-to, isn't it? Yeah. I don't know what time of year it was, because you don't want autumn leaves for a wipe.

1:02:18Wet. Yeah. Cold. Yeah. The smell, however, remained very much intact.

1:02:29Eventually the lads reached Alan's workplace. Locked up, obviously. They walked around the perimeter, searching for a way inside like rebels looking for a weakness in the Death Star. Nothing. Alan suggested climbing into a cardboard skip and waiting until daylight. Rob had a different idea. He picked up a large rock and launched it straight through the window. Instantly, the yard erupted. Alarms, security lights, sirens, the lot. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

1:03:12Realising there was also CCTV everywhere, Alan legged it while desperately trying to hide his face from the cameras. The two idiots sprinted until they reached a nearby wooded area. There they paused to have a heated argument about whose fault everything was.

1:03:30The argument quickly collapsed into another fit of hysterical laughter. And a brief hug it out session followed. Eventually Alan finally came to his senses. Mostly because Rob now smelled like a chemical weapon. They set off in search of a phone box. and Alan rang his brother. As you can imagine, he wasn't exactly thrilled about being dragged out to bed in the early hours to rescue two stranded idiots. His mood worsened considerably when he arrived to find them covered head-to-toe in mud with grass in their hair and jeans soaked through. And it deteriorated even further when Rob climbed into the car, bringing with him a smell that made his brother immediately regret every life decision that had led to that moment.

1:04:17to this day it's still one of the funniest stories from our clubbing years I've got plenty more tales from back in the day if anyone wants another oh aye he's gone on to a bit of advice from you for you here John you're wiping your arse all wrong I didn't learn to wipe my arse probably until I was 40 wipe as normal until you think you're done then give it a rigorous back and forth for a few seconds it's surprising how much more shit comes off thank you very much I'll put that on board John yeah I certainly will I'll tell you what I've got a lot of time for the people on the coach knowing that there's two random people asleep on the back and still letting them travel yeah you know not waking them up nah fuck them they've sneaked on our coach for a kip yeah we'll see how far away from home we can get them and also the wanker signs as they were driving on

1:05:18i'd like to think i'd like to think if i were in that situation on the walk down to tell the driver to stop i'd maybe ask one person whereabouts are you up to yeah yeah where's this bus going get off get a train coherent aren't they yeah not once have they just thought like we'll get off find a phone booth or summer the thought well they're not thinking are they I think the I think the long jump in the nightclub's not got as much air time as it should have done that's fucking brilliant I know you know that at the side of the floor clapping getting all the crowd going yeah well they said long jump I was just wondering if it had then progressed to like a triple jump you know it'd soon it'd soon escalate wouldn't it before you know it there's hurdles coming in there's a railing people I jump in the early yeah yeah health and safety not good enough by the way season starts tonight FPL league oh aye yeah yes the under the cosh league is in the description have you got your teams in I need to do mine sharp I've done mine yeah loosely I need to speak to me me assistant manager I've got a good starting team yeah and as last year enter the league and the highest placed Patreon we have a prize to the value of£1 ,000 Bosh I say to the value because we don't know what it is yet but I mean that might be in lira or something I've got a few dollars spare from America so I couldn't I heard that to them.

1:07:11But there's going to be a£1 ,000 prize for the highest placed Patreon. Yes, so get your teams in. I'm taking it serious from the start this time, not just starting halfway. Yeah. See, my problem is losing... Just... Interest. Interest, yeah, halfway through. Yeah, I imagine if I'm doing well. We should have a forfeit, really. Right. Can we get some suggestions in? A suggestion in. Did you see the lad who had to perform at a bodybuilding competition? Yeah. Yeah. Outstanding. Yeah. Right. Can we get some suggestions in for the forfeit then of between the three of us, the lowest finisher? At the end of the season.

1:08:04Four? I might as well get Percy Meary involved. Yeah. couldn't even get into his emails last year
