1:20What is going on, people of the internet? Welcome back to another very special episode. of the Waveform Podcast. We're your hosts. I'm Marquez. I'm Andrew. And I'm David. And forget everything you just heard because we're not actually hosting this one per se today. This is our official trivia season finale extravaganza, something like that is what you want to call it. But I thought it would be fun. We all were in the back of our heads thinking it would be fun to do a trivia episode to sort of wrap up a season of trivia, score a lot of points, learn a lot of things, and have a lot of fun. and that is what our hosts for the day have arranged for us if you are listening to audio only you're missing out on a really interesting first shot over there with the mustaches but I'll leave it to our host to take it away alright are you guys ready did you study the one cheaters I sent you last night I did I got the PDF thanks for not making it a docx you didn't send me a one cheater it was in Notion yeah it was in Notion did you know i didn't get a notification david i sent it last night and i said study this in that's not gonna be good for you that's it was rough because there's some crazy hints in there wait really yeah no fuck i didn't get a notification on ocean nobody thought to brought this we're messing with you Just kidding.
2:41Got him. All right. And with that, you guys really got me. Did you plan that? Yeah. Wow. You suck. All right. Welcome to the Waveform Survey Game. So for those of you that are not familiar with how this works, we're just going to go over it real quick. All right. So we put out a survey to our lovely fans and about 3 ,000 of them got back to us. That's awesome. It was incredible. So what we're going to do is we are going to ask you the very same questions that we asked our audience. And you have to guess how they answered our survey. Okay. So important to note, I won't be able to give you any extra context to the questions I ask.
3:32What I ask you is exactly what I asked our fans. So you have to think like the MKBHD audience. So here's how the game's going to flow, right? I'm going to pose a question. All three of you have buzzers in front of you. Sure do. The first person to buzz in gets the first crack at the question. After you answer, whether or not you get it right or wrong, it's going to go to the person on your left until we've cleared the board and we go on to the next question, new buzz in round. Make sense? Does the whole question have to be finished before we request the button? But if you buzz before I finish it, I'm not finishing it.
4:07Here's the other thing. After you buzz in, a five-second countdown will begin. If you are unable to answer in those five seconds... Moves on. Sure, yeah. I actually hadn't really thought about what would happen. Does it go clockwise? You just lose your answer for that question, right? It goes to the left. So after Marquez is David, after David is Andrew. Clockwise. The top answer is going to be worth 10 points. Second best is 9, 8, so on and so forth. So you want to get that big 10 gem up there. You know what I'm saying? Okay. Okay. How are we feeling, guys? Are we feeling good? I'm pretty nervous, actually.
4:45I'm very excited. My heart's beating kind of quick. I've been thinking like the MKBHD audience for a long time, so I feel like I should be pretty good. All right. So to quickly update everyone on the score, David is currently in the lead with 24. Yeah. Andrew and Marquez tied at 20. This is basically just my handicap. Yeah, exactly. Anything can happen. At that point, we could get 10. Anything can happen. Ellis has prepared quite a show. So who knows what the score will be by the end of this? I want to stand. I'm predicting 82 points. And I'm nervous. Real quick before we get started, we have a new face behind us.
5:18Alex, our assistant to the studio manager here, has been helping us prepare this show for about two weeks now. And he's also going to be our official scorer for this good game. Nice. Because there's a lot happening. No need to pay them off, right?
5:35Silence after that. Very interesting. All right, without further ado, let's get into it. The first question of the game. Oh, gosh, I'm so nervous. Name a popular tech YouTuber known for their in-depth... Tom Scott. Tom Scott is not on the board, I am sorry to say. That's fast, though. That brings it to... Me? Marquez. Marquez, yeah. I think they said Mr. Who's the Boss. Mr. Who's the Boss is the fourth ranked answer. There's no way that's who you were going to say. Giving Marquez seven points. First one on the board, baby. Score update. David. Just kidding. Linus Tech Tips. Linus Tech Tips is the second answer on the board, giving you a whopping nine points.
6:23That's what I get for not going tech. We have eight answers left on the board. All right, Andrew, we asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans, name a popular tech YouTuber known for their in-depth YouTube videos. Yeah, yeah. I was like, Thomas. Andrew.
6:41Paul's hardware. That's a pretty good. That's a good one. That's a good one. Oh, I guess it wasn't a good one. I like that answer. Paul, I support you. I love Paul. I think you're in-depth. I'm going to try MKBHD. Oh, that is correct. That is the number one answer on the board. over 800 MKBHD fans described you as in-depth. Okay, alright. Those aren't the comments I'm reading. That's good. I feel better now. Alright. My turn? Yeah. Mr. Mobile. That's a good one. Mr. Mobile is the fifth highest answer on the board with over 100 MKBHD fans describing him as in-depth. Sixth highest on the board. Great at reading.
7:24We have five more answers. I have one for you. That's a lot. David Amell. Are you just giving up? A non-zero amount of people actually did put David Amell for this question. I think like 10 or 11. It did not make the top 10 answers, but yes, David. I only have four YouTube videos, but I appreciate you guys. They are in depth. They are very in depth. They are very in depth. That brings us back to Marquez Brownlee. I think they said Super Staff.
7:55I'm sorry. Not on the board. Wow. Interesting. Gosh. David. iJustine? Unfortunately, iJustine did not make the final list of answers. Although, again, a non-zero amount of people put iJustine. Who do I want? Andrew? I have another one, but he doesn't do it anymore. Dieter Bone? He doesn't have his own channel. He doesn't have his own channel, but he is still a tech. We got some Dieter Bone. but not on here. Marquez.
8:32Out of spec reviews? Oh, I've got one. Oh, sorry. Dave 2D. Dave 2D is on there. He is the fifth highest dancer on the board with almost 150 people describing him as in-depth. I'm throwing out in-depth. I think they're just naming tech YouTubers. Well, this is our Discord point. No offense to Dave, but he's famously terse. So I'm going with... What was that word? Terse? I believe it's Andrew's turn. Name a tech YouTuber. Wow. Salt. I think that's what I'm going with. Unbox therapy. That's what I think is up there. What? All right. Oh, that was the 11th highest answer, but it is not worth any points today.
9:16I would argue not very in-depth either. Hardware Canucks. Another one. Really? I think the Discord's still going through. Eber's a killer, dude. I think we'll go one time through, and then we can move on to the next question, and I'll clear the board for you guys. So that brings us to Andrew. Austin Evans. Yeah, he's probably on there. Ooh, the Discord would say... You gotta be... Wow. Sorry. I'm not like you bleeped me. Marquez, you want to take one final guess? One final stab? Name a popular tech YouTuber known for their in-depth videos. Let's go Michael Reeves. Oh, I've got one. I've got one.
9:53All right, David, I'll let you go one more. Snazzy Q or... Snazzy Q is the eighth highest answer on the board, giving David three points. Quinn should probably be like the top of that. At number nine, with 78 votes, Technology Connections, the boy made it on there. That dude is in there. That's a great point. And number 10 with 38 votes, Flossie Carter. Flossie, who's four? Hour long videos. Number four is Mr. Who's the Boss. Oh, no, no. Oh, Jarek everything. Oh, my bad. He was number seven. Oh, indefinitely videos. Okay. Oh, sorry. I was thinking reviews, but videos in general. David is currently in the lead with 47 points.
10:37Whoa. This is hot fast. Followed by Marquez with 37. Whoa. Followed by Andrew with 20. We know, we know. 20 clubs. I'm sorry. There. Okay. David, Andrew, Marquez. We asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans, what is the most annoying kind of person on Twitter? Marquez. Spambot replies. Spambot replies are... Wait, I thought... Yeah, they are on there. No, they're not on there. They're bots. Oh, yeah. There we go. David? Crypto people. Crypto people is, in fact, on there with over 59 votes. Three? Wow. Andrew. Andrew? Elon fans. Elon fans is the second highest answer on the board. No, worst highest. No, it's the second highest.
11:26Oh, you pressed the wrong one then. Oh. And that's what I was thinking of saying. Oh, Elon Musk himself? I was just gonna say Tesla fanboys, but that's fine. Blue checks, Elon fans, Tesla fanboys. I roped them all into one category that I... But yes, ever since it was ruined, the number one answer for who is... What is the most annoying kind of person on Twitter with over 300 votes is Elon Musk himself. It's just that one person. The kind of person. All right, we have seven answers left on the board. No reason to stop here. What do we got going on? What is the most annoying kind of person on Twitter?
11:59Growth hack people? Sorry, no. People begging for giveaways? Giveaways? No. Marquez. People who use hashtags? Dang. Not yet. David. FinTech people. I guess that's crypto, huh? All right. People who post way too much. We did get a lot of those, but not on the board. Wow. What about money stock? That's the same as... That's the same as... Not on our top answers, but... Well, Growth Hack is like growing your... Yeah. But it also said money. Gary V himself. I was waiting for it. No, actually, we didn't get any of those. Wow. I know. um everyone's using their mute correctly hustle culture people like hustle porn sigma grind set yeah yeah we did get a lot of those but again not on our final answer i need to rethink about this question mkbhd you should get negative no but more than more than zero people put ellis rome photographers i can't believe that's so low on the list yeah that's like I'm surprised that's so loud.
13:14What is in between this? Yeah. Aren't you supposed to say it and we're all supposed to go like, ah, and like say it out loud? Yeah. We can go down the list now. All right, should we? Yeah. Yeah. Let's do that. Number eight, our fan said, everyone. Oh, wow. Really? Yep. 189 people. Everyone. People on Mastodon. Maybe those people just don't like Twitter. Yeah, I guess. Number seven, with 161 votes, were political accounts. We should have gotten that one. Number six, Stan accounts. Oh, God. With 130 votes. That should be number one. Number seven on our board were trolls. A lot of people did not like trolls.
13:53I was going to say Bluetooth. Number nine was conspiracy theorists or misinformation accounts. And number 10 with 54 votes were know-it-alls. Okay. Learned a little bit. All right. On to the next question. All right. If you were trapped on a desert island, which tech CEO would you least want to run into? Mark Zuckerberg. Mark Zuckerberg was the second highest answer with 713 votes. Marquez, what do you got? Jeff Bezos. Jeff Bezos is in fact... Wait, no, he's not on there. What? Andrew. I guess he's not the CEO anymore. Andrew. I'm going to say Elon. I was going to say Elon. Elon is the number one answer on the board.
14:39Oh, come on. Elon, you was first I was going to say Elon but he could maybe help them make a bow Tech CEO Sorry Marquez David Sundar Pichai Sundar Pichai is in fact on there 89 people do not want to run into Sundar Pichai He's a great guy He's an amazing man Oh now I gotta remember his name Satya Nadella Satya Nadella is the 8th highest answer on the board. Oh my goodness. Just name a tech CEO. Tim Cook. I would love to see him. Tim Cook is in fact on there. 329 people do not want us here. Good morning. That's fair. Jensen Huang. Jensen Huang. Yeah, wow, nice. He is the last answer on the board.
15:2330 people. I don't even know who. He's the CEO of NVIDIA. Marquez. Marquez. Andy Jassy. Andy Jassy. A lot of people put him, but not on our board. My bad. What's going on? A hush fellow. David. David. Linda Yaccarino. Unfortunately, did not make the list. Yeah, Elon's not even the CEO anymore. Actually, yeah. He's the CEO of Tesla, isn't he? That's true. Yeah, that's fair. Spiritually, he's a CEO. You're like, oh, he's not the Twitter CEO anymore. That means he's not a CEO. He's got this other company. I think it was really telling that we asked 3 ,000 people this question and 1 ,600 of them put either Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk.
16:04Those are the two more annoying CEOs. Yeah. Zuck's not even that annoying. Marquez. Evan Spiegel. Oh, that's a pretty good one. Sorry, Marquez. What are the... I feel sad. What are other tech companies? I feel like we already got through anime. Who's the Samsung CEO? Samsung CEO is not on here. Mostly because there are three of them. He's also in jail for embezzlement. Which seems like a pretty hard thing to do, you know? Embezzle? I don't want to be on that guy's desert island. That's true. He's going to do crime. I do have to say, you're right. Tim Cook's amazing, but I don't need to hear good morning every time I'm stuck on a desk.
16:38No. Yes. Wait. Hold on. We got to correct something here. Jeff Bezos was, in fact, the fourth highest answer. So I think we should award Marquez six points. Sure. Six points. Seven. Seven points. Our bad Marquez. I'll take them. There is one person missing from the list due to a calculation error that no one has guessed yet. But maybe David is about to guess it. Lisa Sue? Ah, unfortunately. No? No. Wow. I think I'll tell you. Marquez. Marquez? Carl Pei. Carl Pei is in fact on here. Oh, wow. That's not the O you want to hear when your name gets called. Oh. Well, but it's, would you least like to run into?
17:19So technically maybe we're like, well, I'd love to hang out with Carl. That's why I wouldn't buzz. No, these are just all the tech CEOs. Yeah. That people know at all. I've given up. I haven't understood a CEO name you guys have said in a while. Pete Lau. Who is that? he's the current CEO of OnePlus instead of the old one wow shall we clear out the board that is all good alright the sixth highest answer on the board was any CEO at all literally I don't want to see anyone the fifth highest answer on the board was Reddit CEO Steve Hoffman that one is so good I'd love to see him on an island throw him into the water and this one I thought was really funny Just kidding.
18:03In Minecraft. 40. What number is that? 45 people put Steve Jobs, with most of them adding, if I'm seeing him, it means I'm already dead. Wow. That got dark? Yeah. It got dark, but it's a fair reason. There was one accounting error on our part, I'd just like to declare. That was 99 people saying Bill Gates as the tech CEO. He is not currently a CEO that I'm aware of. his foundation that's a good point people just responding we have to think like them so Elon is the top answer every time and with that let's move on to our next category Marquez, Andrew, David we asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans name an app everyone hates Marquez Twitter Twitter is the number one answer on the board with 765 votes.
19:06Marquez again. Instagram. Instagram is the third highest number on there. Andrew. Andrew. Reddit. Reddit is the sixth highest answer on the board. David. David, wow, this is going fast. Snapchat. Ooh, did not. Oh, jeez. I don't even have it, so I guess I can live without it. Facebook. Facebook is the second highest answer on the board. I have not had that for like 15 years. I'm living without it right now. Your parents, though. You're right. Facebook Messenger. Yeah, no, I hate Facebook. My mom in the Discord right now. Also remember, a large part of our audience lives outside. Marques. WhatsApp.
19:45WhatsApp is on there. Kind of gave that one, too. That's how it goes. David. Google Maps. Google Maps is not on here. Oh, jeez. Apple Maps. Apple Maps is also not on here. Marques. It's going so fast. Telegram. I love it. It's a great app. I can't make that joke. Everyone hates. Everyone hates. Your banking app. Banking apps are on here as the seventh highest answer. Marquez didn't let me finish the question. I didn't. Name an app everyone hates, but no one can live without. Marquez. Your utility company app. I don't have that. I have a power company. Sorry. It's awful. I hate it.
20:32Mastodon's not on there. I'm saying Mastodon. Name an app. Healthcare insurance? No, unfortunately. Jesus. I think it might be YouTube. No, everyone loves YouTube. WeChat. No, dissidents are not allowed to post. No. Sorry, Andrew. Spotify. Uh, no. I want to look at my phone so bad right now. Apple Music. Uh, nope. All of them because I don't want a smartphone. No, that's a good guess, but unfortunately. We have, uh... The phone app. Oh my gosh, the phone app is the 11th highest thing. Again, 76 people. Marquez. Messages. Another one. My message. Not on the board, but 51 responses with messages.
21:27Wow. Nobody hates. I don't know. WhatsApp's on there. Andrew. Email? Gmail. I'll give it to you with Gmail is on there. Okay, I think that. That's a good one, actually. Stock apps, stock apps. Markets. You didn't put it up there. Apple Mail. Nobody uses that. Nobody uses that. Some people I know use it. Unfortunately. 39 people put their default email client. Jesus, Lord. You don't have to use it. You can use other stuff. A lot of people don't know that. I don't know, like, work chat, so, like, Teams or Slack. The 10th highest answer on the board was Microsoft Office. I'm going to give that to you just because Teams sucks so bad.
22:11But Office isn't Teams. Is Teams not part of Office? Teams is part of Office, but it's not really. It's not part of it. It's not, but I get what you're going for. Like, your work. I was doing your work stuff. Yeah, I would give that. Look this up. I would give this to... No, I'd give it to Andrew. All right, I'm giving it to Andrew. Andrew, you just got one point, baby. You can have the point. You can have the point. Let's reveal the last two that we haven't gotten. All right. At number eight, with 102 votes, we have the alarm app. No one likes waking up. That should have been number one. I think the alarm apps are usually pretty good on most phones.
22:43No, they're annoying, though. I hate it, but I have to use it. I mean, I guess. And at number five, with 167. Wow. I thought most good. Let's say TikTok. I thought most people love TikTok. No, I agree. They hate it, but they can't live without it. I hate how much I love it. I hate how much they use it. I don't have it, so whatever. Wow. I can't believe we didn't say TikTok. I can't believe we didn't even say it. I suck. Wow. I suck at this game. Well, folks. That's okay. As our contestants continue to - I got shut out one round? Yeah, fair. As our contestants continue to eat dirt, we're going to take a quick commercial break.

Streaming services is the third highest answer on the board. 365 people put that down. What is above? I'm going to go with Bluetooth. Lossless? Change the way we listen to music. Spotify still doesn't have that. There's still, there's other things other than Spotify. There are? Well, streaming is...

The ninth highest answer on the board, with 27 people putting it in, were speakers. Oh. I said smart speakers. That's very different. Yeah, you did. More than the Zune, huh? What? Maybe I should have given it to smart speakers. No, that's why you said dumb. Oh, yeah. Ah, clever. Yeah, that's true. That's not why you said dumb? Dumb speakers. I guess, no, I just thought it was a stupid answer. Sorry, 27 people who put that, but.
31:24Dang. I guess I should have put that. One of us actually said that. That is a great round. Let's move on to something. Vinyl records were above speakers. That's wild. Yeah. Same with the CD player. The radio's not on there, but speakers and vinyls are. The radio is not on there. That's funny. All right. This is a pretty interesting one. It's going to really require you to get in the head of our audience. Okay. Is that a pun? No. Okay. Neuralink? Number one answer? Elon. Elon.
32:00All right, guys. We asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans. Name an Apple product that doesn't exist yet, but you really want it to. Division Pro? Should I listen to the whole question? No, that was the whole question. Oh, no, I guess it doesn't exist. Wait, no, no, no, no. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Apple Car. Yeah, that's going to be there. Oh, David, I am so sorry. That is the sixth highest answer on the board. Thank you. I apologize. Let me give you that. Technically doesn't exist yet, but okay. Yeah. Yeah, that works. It works. It doesn't exist. Yeah. I mean, here's the thing. Is that what they're talking about?
32:33Who knows? They put Apple glasses. Yeah, I don't know what that means. I don't think... That counts? They're talking about the, like... Oh, come on. I think it counts. Listen, listen. Like I said, I can't provide any additional context on these questions because I'm just telling you what the people said. Andrew is going to be the highest, though, I think. I don't know. I said Apple car. Andrew, that is the top answer on the board. 477 people want that for some reason. All right, taking it to Marques. I'm again tossing up between two, so I'm just going to pick one. I'm going to pick the folding iPhone.
33:05Folding iPhone is the number two answer on the board. That's the one that I really want. 235 people agree with me. Back to David. Dang. That's good.
33:18Goodness gracious. Take me through your thoughts. What's going through your head right now? Maybe a physical Apple TV? That is the third highest on the board. Oh, really? 171. Nice. Wow. Okay. Yeah. Not bad. All right, guys. We're steaming. I'm happy for you for the card thing. M3.
33:42Come on. How is that not one of the top 10? That's the next chip. What major categories have they not gotten into yet? It doesn't exist yet, but you really wanted to. That implies... I'll let you know something here. two of the things on this list have already existed. They are not current Apple product offerings. What happens if you can't elaborate any further? No, that's what I... I mean, I was thinking that too. I'm gonna say printer. Printer is the fifth highest answer on this thing. And now we popcorn because that was two rounds? PDA. What? No, but that is a good answer. They have the Newton.
34:22Andrew. Andrew. Router? Ooh. Wait. They had an air... They did have like a... No, it's not on here. They did. It was the air... I would be interested in that. Airport? Airport. I would buy an Apple printer. I would... Are you kidding? Bro, you should have seen us trying to get the studio display to work in here. The last thing I want is an Apple printer. Really? I think they could make a decent one. David. A gaming monitor? Gaming monitor?
34:52No. Marques. No way! Camera. Wait, that's a camera. Camera is on here. Fourth highest answer. That is a great one. That is a really good one. Gaming console. Gaming console is in fact on here. 121. That's a good answer. Also, never mind. I'll tell you after. David. David. A gaming controller? Unfortunately now. Marques. Marques. A gaming PC. What? They already do, bro. Our Discord would say a gaming PC. Shoes. Shoes. No, that's my favorite answer so far. I don't know, man. Whoa, wait, wait, wait, before we keep going, what's in the Apple shoes, David? Bluetooth, low energy. Okay. Literally think about the Apple health integrations.
35:37Oh, also wait, they - Andrew. Group challenges. Wait. No. Oh, God. Marquez. Marquez. I think a, wow, just blank. Oh, a smart home display. That is the eighth highest answer on the board. 97 people are looking for that. That's a great one. They would immediately sell a bazillion of those. I can't wait until Dub Dub next year. It's just this list. That would be sick. Yeah, Apple's there like, thank you. Oh, you want it? Oh. Yeah. I think I'm starting to... We're down to the last two. Yeah. The ninth and tenth most popular. Andrew. Social media app. Oh, God. Sorry, Andrew. Can you imagine? Remember Ping?
36:18We're trying here. iTunes Ping. Yeah. Oh, I do remember that. David. iTunes.
36:27Marquez. Marquez. Wired headphones. I mean, they still sell those. All right. I'm going to wrap up this one. They still sell ear pods. The ninth highest answer on the board was air power. People really, really wish. Oh, come on. That's really good. Thank you, Discord, for saying that. And the 10th highest answer with 41 votes was affordable products. I thought about saying a cheap iPhone, but technically we have the iPhone SE, but I think they would just say a cheap version of insert expensive product here. And I didn't know which one to pick. That's a great answer. Andrew, Apple Car was great, even though I went first.
37:06All right, let's meet our contestants. Andrew, where are you from? That'd be fun, actually. And is it true you have eaten nine plus Taco Bell tacos in one sitting? Easy. Multiple times. This morning. All right, let's play the game. I'd be nervous if you didn't. All right. Contestants, we asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans, what is the best way to stop yourself from being hacked? David. David. A two-factor authentication. Two-factor authentication is the second highest one on the board. It had 603 votes. Nice. Password manager? That is the sixth highest. I was going to actually flip something at that.
37:52A really, really good password. That is the third highest answer on the board. 358 people put that. Okay. Encryption? I shouldn't have said that. Unless it's on there. Yeah. Sorry, Dave. Andrew. Don't be stupid. That's pretty good. Don't be stupid is the ninth highest answer on the board with, guess this, 69 votes. Nice. Nice, guys. I guess number one might be on Authenticator app. Authenticator app is the eighth highest on the board. What the heck is number one? 78 people. Security key. Yeah. And that brings us to David for the third time, meaning we have entered the popcorn stage. What is the best way to stop yourself from being hacked?
38:40Not having an account in the first place. I'm going to give it to you. The number one answer for how Nazi and Hacked is to go off grid slash disconnect. That is the number one way. 645 people. Wow. They took it literally. They took it very literally. What's the best way to stop yourself? All right. We got a few more answers left on this board. Let's not leave them there for long, folks. Andrew. Don't click links Don't click suspicious links with 102 answers That's a good one I feel like both of those are kind of good answers Don't be dumb and don't click links are pretty similar Yeah I mean all of these are under don't be dumb David Don't be a boomer I was just thinking Don't be X amount of years old Stop yourself from being hacked This one was a good one I kind of want to say don't be important enough Marquez Marquez Don't be a target Sorry Marquez
39:43Stop yourself Stop yourself from being out Marquez Hack them first Okay People did But it's not on the board Use a VPN Use a VPN is the fifth highest answer I feel like the other ones are probably just like Don't something very specific Marquez Marquez. Don't open files that have terrible, suspicious extension file extensions. We put that with click suspicious links. That's how it downloads something. Same idea. David. David. Don't sign up for stupid. Stop signing up for stuff. Sorry, David. Marquez. Don't tell anyone your password. That's under don't be stupid. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Should we empty the board?
40:34I think we can move on. All right. The 10th highest one on the board was change your password frequently. Oh, yeah. That's a pretty good one. Wasn't that don't be stupid? Sounds like I should get some more points. No, I'm calling it here. We're giving it to Andrew. This was a scores error. We should have lumped these together. With 128 votes, it was be cautious slash use common sense. Wait, why wasn't that already lumped together? Probably should have been. Don't be stupid and use common sense. Yeah, that's what he's saying. It should have been lumped together. No, I'm calling it here. Mostly because I am literally just sweating so much in my velour tuxedo right now.
41:11Okay. How many points do I get for that? 120. You get four. Okay. Four points. All right. New mustache applied. Let's go. We asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans. Name a file type that you hate. Doc X. I'm going to give it to you. Second highest answer was.doc. That's the same as.doc. It's Microsoft Word. Zip? Yeah. Zip is the seventh highest answer on the board. I agree with that. PDF. PDF is our number one answer. I thought you were going to go straight photo. I was going to say, but I actually kind of like PDFs. Me too. Wow, that's what I was going to say. Give me JPEG. JPEG is the sixth highest answer on this board.
42:04RAR. Oh, yes. RAR is the ninth highest answer on the board. 66. That should be higher. I think I'm scared I'm going to get a RAR. Is it WebP? WebP is the fifth highest answer on there, and it is annoying. That should be number one. I want to save this photo. Why can't I import it into anything? MOV. Or MP4, like a video file. MKV. Yeah, I was just going to name files I hate working with. Don't see MKV on the board. I'm sorry. Wave. Nope, it's an easy file type. Oh, my gosh. I like it, too. It's just a PDF. XLS. What? XLS is the third highest answer on the board. David. XML. XML, while it is annoying, is not on our list.
42:54Marquez. CSV. CSV is the eighth highest on our list. with 78 people putting it. What's wrong with CSE files? It's like borderline a text file. It's fine to work with, just nobody likes working with them. Andrew. TXT. Yeah, I was gonna say that. Fair. 35 votes, but not on the list, my friend. I'm sorry. Did someone just try to buzz? Okay, there we go. Dot A-I-X-X. Dot what? A-I-S-S, sorry. Oh, A-I-S-S. Wait, what? A-I-S-S. I don't even know that one. Hold on, hold on, hold on. What is an... You mean A-I-F or A-I-F-F? Is it it's AI something something? What are you talking about? It's an audio format.
43:34Oh, FF. All good. It's not up there, I guess. David. Photoshop file. PSD. Photoshop document. Oh, like an administrator? No. I guess. Marquez. PNG is not up there. PNG is the 10th highest answer on the board. What is wrong with PNG? Those are the best. I don't know. They're lossless. It's come down to name. And it has transparent backgrounds. They're actually lossless. It's literally the meme for it. It's amazing. You wouldn't have memes about PNG. Here's what I'm going to say. I'm so annoyed. About this last answer on the board. Yeah. PNG is frustrating for some people because not all softwares know what to do with an alpha layer.
44:17And a JPEG, you know, is not going to have one of those. It can just run through anything. Sure. This last file is also a photophile type. Andrew. Diff. that not very many programs know how to handle. And one of the most, you know, I'm just going to leave with that. Raw. David, no. But good answer. Did you say PSD? I said PSD. Yeah, he said Photoshop. And I said Raw. I'm trying to think of a GIMP file. It's really not. It's not a TIFF file either. GIF? Marquez. Marquez. It's not up there. The GIMP file format. What is the GIMP or the Pixelmator file format? I don't even think. It's neither of those.
44:53I'll do one or two more popcorns and then I'll reveal it It's a photo type It's a photo file and it has annoyed me personally in the past And Andrew's not going to get it Not because of you but because of your lifestyle I was going to say PDF He's not going to get it PDFs are great They're not annoying What about my lifestyle Web3P we already said web p all right let's let's reveal it what does marquez know about photo files that i'm gonna know this i'm gonna know this i'm gonna it is dot h e i c and which is the iphone it's the internal iphone photo file so much yeah bro and andrew is a pixel user for those you airdrop a photo from your iphone to your macbook you try to post it to twitter it's like I don't know what this is.
45:46Exactly. Freaking hell. You gotta convert that? So annoying. My God. That's why it's up there. It's like 149 people feel the same way as you do. I agree with you guys. I was pretty offended by that. I was like, Marquez edits thumbnails in final cut. What do I not know that he knows? Why you gotta dox me? Yeah, I was trying to be like, Why you gotta dox me? Because I'm very embarrassed during this show, so I need to get somebody else a Nazi. As soon as I was like, no, that makes Andrews not dumb. He just doesn't have an iPhone. How do I say that? I'm jealous because I was going to say PDF. You guys are brilliant.
46:19All right. Let's throw it to one more commercial break and we'll come back and do a few more rounds. How does that sound? Sounds good. Sounds good. Yeah. Andrew.

So we're going to do one or two more questions, and then we're going to do our little final mini game to wrap everything up. The physical challenge. The physical challenge. You guys bought your life jackets, right? It was on Notion. All right. So one last score update before the last. Oh, yes. How could I forget? Alex, would you please give us an update to the game score? I mean, we saw the winner always wants to know. Yeah. Just so we know where we stand.
49:38Currently in the lead, we have Marquez with 177 points. Wow. In second place, we have David with 134 points. Lordy. And in third place, we have Andrew. Please be over 100. Please be over 100. With 110 points. I almost said that. Yeah, I don't think I can name all the planets. Our audience, we asked 3 ,000 MKBHD members, what are the planets? There's ten on the board and there's only nine planets Number one answer I cannot name any of them So My first ten pointer Number two is all of them Alright 69 people said the sun We don't know why The James Webb Space Telescope is the number four answer The Tesla orbiting Mars David Andrew Marquez We asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans Name a job that doesn't require Wi-Fi.
50:35Construction worker. Construction worker is the number one answer with 514 responses, which brings us to Andrew. Garbage man. Garbage can. Garbage can. Tell me a job. Trash collector. Nice. Is the fifth highest answer with over 100 people. Doesn't require Wi-Fi. A job? Wow. Marques, I'm cutting you off soon. Teacher? I don't know. I'll give it to you. Teacher is the eighth highest on the board. My mom was a teacher for like 30 years. She used a computer every day. I can probably think of a good reason for Wi-Fi on all these jobs. She had to use a computer every day. I didn't put these a tier. Think like the Discord.
51:25Carpenter. That's kind of construction. Carpenter was put, but I looped it in with construction. unfortunately. But they're different. My dad did carpentry but not construction. Janitor. Janitor is the third highest. That's the same as trash collector. No it's not. That's a totally different job. It's all about scale. I'm gonna go truck driver because that's not Wi-Fi. That's cellular. It's pretty good. Dang. Nope. Great point. It means it's wrong. Painter. Painter slash artist is the sixth highest answer on the board. Andrew. Athlete. No. Also, before we keep going, I just want to say there were so many answers that had the caveat of like, oh, it's data, not Wi-Fi.
52:09It was like Uber driver. I was like, OK, you're clever. Next. Anyway. We're popping Uber driver. Not a top answer, unfortunately. All right. Marquez. Marquez. I'm going pilot. People did put pilot. Not a top answer. Marquez. Marquez again. Flight attendant. Flight attendant. Also a common answer, not a top one. There's no Wi-Fi up there. God. Yeah, there is. That's so bad. Security worker? Security person? Good guess. Not on there. Andrew. Andrew? Landscaping. That's the same as construction. No, it's not. What in the world? Landscaping. You cannot tell me that landscaping is different from construction, but a carpenter is not.
52:57I could name a thousand ways they're different. So I lumped Landscaping, gardening And farming into one Agricultural answer with 208 votes making it the second Highest answer on the board way to go I can see farmer but I can't even Building the house cutting the goats Doctor Doctor is not on here I'm sorry I was thinking that before Marquez Any factory worker Not on here David Scuba diver Don't That is so funny I wish that was on here
53:41Andrew Zookeeper I like where your head's at Marquez Pirate Come on somebody said pirate Somebody did say pirate Thank you You don't play CFE? Landlord oh wait Marquez that's not a job I'm just kidding this is a real answer lawyer no two more man yeah Marquez Marquez fashion model what that's a that's a job yeah you don't need wifi yeah it's definitely a job you don't need wifi for that photographer some people put it was not a top answer oh we're really gonna this this answer's musician uh I included musician and artist with painter. Oh. But I don't want to clear the board. We've had enough, right?
54:33Let's see. The number seven answer with 47 people putting it was letter carrier slash mailman. Okay. Yeah. That should have been. The fourth highest answer was barista slash chef. Oh, I can't believe I didn't say that. Barista's a rough one now. They need to play music. Because of how many mobile orders they get. Yeah, that's true. But if any chef does. But also teachers on the board, which. Yeah, that was a silly one. Barista chef is a good one. It's weird that that's on there. Chef is, yeah. Chef is a great one. All right. Do we want to do... Wait, was there one more answer? They had the other answers.
55:02No, that's it. Not all of them have 10 answers. Oh. Oh, okay. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. We have 10 answers on the board. 10. Contestants, we asked over 3 ,000 MKBHD fans, what feature would you not buy a phone without? David. Texting.
55:25I need a... Messaging. I need to confer. The seventh highest answer on the board with 154 votes was iMessage. What? Which is a stretch. Regular messaging. It's the same as Carpenter. But we are going to give it to you. Which brings us to Andrew. That's crazy. Wireless charging. What? That's pretty good. Unfortunately, no. Camera. Good camera is the top answer on the board. Oh, wow. Nice. Sorry. With, yeah, 626 votes. Nice. Back to David. Mobile data? That is correct. 198 people. Really? People put mobile data? This is what, yeah, because that's the question. There are phones without cellular service?
56:17Yeah, I was about to be like. No, because no one would buy them. Exactly. I mean, that's what I was going to say. A screen. Say it. It's up there. It's definitely up there. I didn't say anything. I bet it's up there. It's still your turn. Good battery. That's what I was going to say. That's a good answer. Yep, that is the sixth highest answer on the board. Which means I'm the last one. I will go good screen. I'm blind. That is the second highest answer on the board. What? 599 people want a good display on their phones. For sure. High refresh rate? High refresh rate is the Third highest on the board.
56:55Wow. Marquez. USB-C. That's good. They just don't care. Andrew. Headphone jack? No. Someone wants to put that, I'm sure. What? FaceTime. No way. Come on, Discord. Wow. Fast charging. Am I crazy? Wireless charging wasn't on there either yet. Wow. Marquez. Good haptics. somebody will appreciate I guess not we appreciate streaming music did anybody okay I'm just gonna say it for the meme because someone might have said it headphone jack I just want to say I cleaned up this data and all the answers you guys are giving people did put but it just wasn't the top answers I can't believe Okay, big feature.
57:51The phone app, or like a phone feature. Marquez. Alright. I think it's a more general answer, like Android. Android is in fact the ninth highest answer. iOS. You answered that already. No, I said messaging. They were generous. I didn't even see iOS was there. How is texting not even on there? Three answers left on the board. I guess a feature. What does my phone do? makes phone calls. Marquez. Marquez. Making phone calls. That's the phone. That's the phone. I already said the phone app. Well, I said the phone app. Oh, you did? Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Are we going to be... Andrew. Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is the highest answer.
58:35No, these are real terms. Like Bluetooth slash Wi-Fi? Bluetooth slash Wi-Fi. Those are not even remotely similar services. David, I'd watch it if I were you. There's three of us and we're going to use it. There's two left. There's two answers left. One of them was pretty high up there. Somewhere between high refresh rate. On our Discord, I'm not shocked to say that. So this was on Discord for about 48 hours and then it was unleashed to Twitter. I don't know how wireless charging is not on this. Airdrop? That's insane. That's a good one. Wait, wait, wait. Does that know? Really? I think so. NFC?
59:15NFC. is the answer. Oh, wait, so... AirDrop doesn't work off NFC. AirDrop's not NFC? No. It's not. No, it's Bluetooth Direct. It's Bluetooth. It's Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth Low Energy. Yeah, Wi-Fi Direct. Thank you, guys. All right, one last answer. Can I get it? David. Mobile wallet. No. Okay. I can't quite put my finger on this. Fingerprint reader. It was, yeah, biometric unlock. Or face unlock, yeah. alright that's high on the list I can't believe people don't care about wireless charging I was shocked that that was live a lot of people did put wireless charging but it was not there's no way people are more excited about NFC than that's not the question though oh that's true yeah a feature you would not buy a phone without guys I don't know if you knew this Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not the same thing I mean there's a couple things out there alright whatever David.
1:00:15Whatever. Cellular service is a dumb thing, but I guessed it, so I guess I'll take it. It's a feature. All right. So we're about to wrap up the game. Yeah. But first, we're going to enter what I call the rapid round. Oh, shoot. This isn't rapid? No. Here's how this is going to work. There's going to be a 25-second timer. You're going to hear our normal trivia guessing music. each one of you one at a time is going to have 25 seconds to give one answer for five questions so i'm going to go question answer question answer question answer question answer then i'm going to ask the next one of you five different questions five same questions so you're trying to get higher answers on the board than everyone else and just to shake things up double points are you allowed to repeat someone else's answer when you go no okay exactly going Going first is like kind of good.
1:01:08Going first is important, which is why we're going to give it to Andrew, who currently has 142 points. Andrew's in third place, right? And then me. All right. Yes. Then David. Then Marquez. Again, these are double points. I'm sorry. These are double points. That was me apologizing to our scorer, Alex. Well, just take the normal points and then double them. Big brain. Yeah, facts. You know, David, when you're right, you're right. All right. So you will not need your buttons for this round. All right. Please do not hit your buttons for this round. I like that we have to physically move them away from us to not hit them.
1:01:50It's really funny. Let's have the impulse control. Yeah. All right. Okay. Andrew, how are you feeling? Horrible. If you'd like to skip a question, say pass and we'll get to it. You'll come back? Yeah, we'll come back to it at the end. So 25 seconds, five questions. 25 seconds, five questions. Are you ready? Let's do this. Name an operating system you cannot trust. Windows. Name a college that good programmers graduate from. Stanford. Name a product that never works. Printers. Name a tech product that spends almost all of its time in your car. Pass. What is the worst password someone could choose?
1:02:33Password. Name a tech product. Oh, and that's time. Excellent job, Andrew. Four out of five questions. Okay. All right, David, how do you feel? Are you ready for our rapid round? I forgot four of the questions. Here we go. All right. If you guess something that Andrew has already guessed, I will buzz. And you will be able to answer that question again. If you choose not to answer it, you can say pass and we will double back. Okay. Ready? Yep. Name an operating system you can't trust. Linux. Name a college that good programmers graduate from. Berkeley. Name a product that never works.
1:03:12Bluetooth headphones. Name a tech product that spends almost all its time in your car.
1:03:21Pass. What is the worst password someone could choose? Hunter 2. Good one. What? Marquez I got screwed on that I was actually sad that I didn't say that because I thought it was so funny you know most people would use it though of course I don't I think we're the only ones who understand it it's a really old meme no it's a Warcraft thing I thought it was RuneScape is that what that is yeah it's a RuneScape meme it's like oh look look, RuneScape has like an anti-password thing so you can't get hacked. Look, I'm typing my password and they just type star, star, star, star and then right under it, the person's like, Hunter 2 and then it's like, he gets hacked.
1:04:10Jesus. Yeah. All right, Marquez. You said Windows, you said Linux. I'm not saying anything. Mac, are you ready, Marquez? I'm ready. Mac, how are you feeling? Having a third, it's tough going third, but I'll be okay. You get more context at least. Yeah. I think second is a good split. And you have more time to think. A lot. Because there's a couple questions that I just still think. I'm forgetting my answers as you talk, so this is perfect. This is good. Marquez, whenever you're ready, I'll do it. I'm ready. All right. Name an operator. Okay. Name a college that good programmers graduate from. Caltech?
1:04:46Name a product that never works. Siri. Name a tech product that spends almost all its time in your car. Car charger. And finally, what is the worst password someone could choose? 1, 2, 3, 4. No, no, no. All zeros. All zeros. All zeros. Alright. I would have said 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I think that's a good one. The car one would totally blank on that one. I wanted to say phone like 10 times. I should have said radio. Radio is still a tech product, right? Yeah, it's weird. It's all weird though because it's part of your car. I know. So it feels like not a tech product. Just the car. G-car itself. Like GPS, but nobody uses those dedicated GPS anymore.
1:05:26I should have said like software. My phone is in my car a lot. Yeah, but it's with you more. Spends all of its time in your car. Is that what the question was? Yeah. Spends almost all of its time in your car. I think both you and I didn't even say anything. Car charger's good. I passed. Did you pass? I passed and tried to come back and was just going to say phone as a throwaway. Wait, wait, wait. You guys, you can't hit your... I didn't hit it. Oh, sorry. I was fidgeting with mine. You were sparing it? Sorry. I have a bad feeling, Marquez. You, when you, this isn't on the pod, I'm guessing, but you were like, one, two, three, no no no zeros and now it's like makes me think your first one was better than your second 1 2 3 4 5 is better than 0 0 0 or maybe the question is for like four numbers and maybe they'll give it to you but just no password I mean 1 2 3 4 is the obvious one but I feel like more people have actively had all zeros I don't know yeah it's like a famous one you said password that's a good one password and when you said hunter 2 it's like kind of a meme one you have some points for it yeah I can't believe any other I think 1 2 3 4 5 is really good the card one is that is where do you stop what did you say for card 2 we both skipped I passed and then was just going to say phone because I couldn't think phone charger was a really good one because there's literally nowhere else that would go but everyone just uses regular USB-C cables now instead of a separate phone charger because cars have actual although most people don't have new cars so i guess that's true all right we've calculated our scores you guys did really really well in in fast in that round right so should we should we break down everyone's thing all right david we asked you what's an operating system you can't trust you said linux that was the second highest answer on our board we asked you what's a program what's a what's a college good programmers graduate from.
1:07:23You said Berkeley. That was the seventh highest answer on the board. Nobody's from California around here. Just saying. I'm from California, David. Thank you, Elvis. Me and you. David, then we asked you, name a product, name a tech product that never works. You said Bluetooth headphones. Yeah. That was a good last minute, yeah. It's the fifth highest answer on the board. That's not terrible. Pulled it out. Nice. You passed the car question, which took you to the worst password. You put Hunter 2, the old World of... Was it World of Warcraft or Rootskate? We found out it's just a chat room. It was like a chat room.
1:07:54It's like really old IRC or something. It looks similar. It's a meme. That was the ninth highest answer on the board. Thank you, guys. Wow. David, you finished out the game with 209 points. That's a lot of points. Not terrible. That's a lot of smarts. Also a lot of points. Data. But also a lot of points. Ah! Yeah. He's excited. Andrew, we asked you to name an operating system you can't trust. You said Windows. That was the number one answer on the board. Nice job. You're going to really slide ahead on this one. We asked you, name a college that good programmers graduate from. You said Stanford, second highest answer on the board.
1:08:34Nice job. We asked you, name a piece of technology that never works. You said printer. That, of course, was the number one answer on the board. This is double jeopardy. I wish I answered the car. I wish I took this more seriously because I forgot it was double points. I was just playing with you guys. You also chose not to answer the car one. I didn't choose to. You said pass. That's a hard question. You chose. You said pass. Thank you. I also chose. I can't wait to see the list of that one. We said, we asked you, what's the worst password someone could choose? You said password. That was the number one answer MKBHD fans gave.
1:09:17Wow. That huge. That gave you a final score this season of 220 points, beating David by 11. Wow. Marquez had to really mess this up. There is a slight advantage to the end, though, because three number ones. What? Yeah, three number ones. That's about as good as you can possibly be. No, I said you have the chance to mess this up. Yeah, but you got double points on all three of those. Yeah, yeah. I killed it. I rule. Yeah, you do. You might have passed me. Redemption. We'll have to see. That was actually a good redemption, yeah. Marquez, are you ready? Yeah. Marquez, we asked you, name an operating system you can't trust.
1:09:50You said Android. That was the third highest on the board. Okay. Then we asked you, name a college good programmers graduate from. You said Caltech. That was not on the board. Was MIT number one? Number one for that one was MIT. I'm dumb. I believe number three, was it number three, was no college. Or no, it was YouTube University. Oh my God. Yeah. And then number four was IIT. What's that? The India Institute of Technology. I was going to say, we were all thinking of only US. Yeah. All right, Marquez, then we asked you, name a product that never works. You said Siri. That was the third highest answer on the board.
1:10:35We said, name a tech product that spends almost all of its time in your car. You said Charger. That was the second highest number on the board. What was number one? What on earth is number one? What was number one? Radio. What was number one? Was it radio? GPS. Android Auto. No. It was wireless charger. I hate all of you. Wow. Wow. What? Because, you know, they make the ones that have the grippies built into it. Oh, my God. That's a lot of people's only wireless charger. I love this. That's fair. Marquez, finally, we asked you. That is so funny. What is the worst password someone could choose?
1:11:13You said zero, zero, zero, zero, zero. That was the sixth highest answer on the board. Weird. That means the winner of this season of Waveform Trivia is Marquez Brownlee with 268 points. Oh, wow. You're all those. Okay. Wow. Audio listeners, you can't see, but all three of us are wearing suit jackets and shorts. It's really funny. Adam's not.
