2:31Okay. All right. Here we go. About time you called me back, boo. That's where I'm at. Hi, Tricky. She's been talking about you. I appreciate it. You ain't over there telling no lies. No. But I know you did when you were on the podcast. Uh-oh, uh-oh. Mm-hmm. Oh, what's your story? Don't you dare be sour. Clap for Stephanie and feel the power.
3:14Welcome to What's Your Story with Steph McMahon, a WWE and Fanatics original production. Tricky, as you call him. Tricky. He was going on and on about you and said that we definitely had to interview you on the pod. And then you guys get married. Yes. Right? Which I want to hear all about that. But then he is in the ring on SmackDown talking about whooping that. He's crazy. He seems to go there. And I'm like, let's just be back in our household. I was wondering how you felt about that immediately. I was like, oh, is she laughing? Does she know? He's done it. No. He don't tell me. He just goes out there.
3:57I'm like, why didn't you run that about me? He's messing with you. He's messing with you. Don't say that. Yeah. That's him. I can't control him. He's in his element. when he's going, he's just going. He's just going. Well, I love how in love you guys are. Yeah, because it's so obvious. It's the best. Love is the best, you know. I'm grateful we get to be in the same business together and travel together. Yeah. It just makes it so much easier. Yeah. We do our dates on the road. Yeah, it's not an easy life if you're not, you know, it's like one has a totally different lifestyle and it's hard to understand unless you live it.
4:38You can't explain it unless you're literally. You can't. My friends when you know I started working because I started working right away luckily and you know they were all like what why aren't you around anymore? I'm like guys I am gone. I'm on the road actually. Yeah. And when I first started you know there were no cell phones or anything like that. It was way back in the dark ages you know. Well We talked to Javon last week and I felt like I was in the dark ages. I mean, I did too. He's born in 2000. I know. 2004. Crazy. Yes. Crazy. I still can't get over that. Like I'm, I'm in my thirties and he made me feel like I was.
5:20Right. Well, now you have a glimpse of your future. I get it. I get it now. He's a little nephew. That's what we call him. Yeah. Okay. Well, and I was auntie. So that works. That works. so tell me about your love how did you fall in love now he said that you were not into it I think he said you friend zoned him instantly yes yes quote unquote yeah he said he had to work real hard he did you know I'm a catch you gotta chase me that's right tell me that to be fair we both came in this business doing our own thing had our own little friends outside of work and um once we basically well first off i remember first time i saw him and i was like oh no no no no oh you felt something yes oh yeah you were like of all people i'm not talking to you so i remember like feeling that feeling like no i'm stay away but then i got to kind of she did feel it right away trick but i was like oh no i gotta stay away like i just got here like i'm trying to stay focused right i got my own thing going on outside of work so i was like no but then um i got to know him as a person like truly as a person and in all of my relationships like romantically i've never got to be friends with somebody first yeah and so i really got to figure out his character his morals his values his spirit his soul like just really get to know him on a work level just professional and i was like man like he really is a good person and i really like that about him.
6:59But again, friend zone for like two years. But the whole time you fought yourself. Yeah. And then when we both got available. So how cool is that though that you feel that spark? I know. But neither one's acting on it. Yeah. Well, you're not allowing it to happen. Yeah. It was stiff arm. But that's awesome. Yeah. But when we did become available, I'm like, you know what? Like, let's get to know each other outside of work. Didn't have my number. None of that. I think he sent me like some WWE clip one time on Twitter and I just read it and I was like, nope. Not. I think he told that story, didn't he?
7:36I don't remember. I feel like he told that story. I can't remember what he said, but something wrestling-wise. So I'm still like trying to make sure it was professional. But I'm like, no, I'm not talking to y 'all. Well, he definitely tells that story. Yeah, that's the picture he paints. But then he said he won in the end. He won. I feel it. I was like, you know what, I can't stay away from you anymore. That's awesome. that's awesome and then he just came to my house one time never left but he says it the other way but don't listen to him that's what I was going to say he definitely said I know he does and I'm like that's not true but that's kind of what happened with us too Paul like he came off the road with me one weekend and he stayed never left and then he was like I'm going home to New Hampshire you want to come and I was like yeah of course I do and we just stayed together yeah it's crazy how that happens it is crazy leave their shoes there underwear everything mine were suitcases he moved right in that makes sense well he was always on the road but there were two big suitcases in my hallway for a long time you're like I guess this is serious I love it I love it it's crazy how you know being in this world you can find your soulmate And I just love it so much because we relate on so many levels.
8:58Obviously work, career, but it's the fact that we have the same drive in life, in our passion and what we do, where we can relate. You know, so I just I really appreciate. What do you think are the most important values you share? Like drive and work ethic? Oh, me personally or as a relationship? Well, no, as the values that you share that you think make it work so well. Oh, I think for sure our tenacious attitude and just wanting to be great. We both have a similar, very similar background and kind of similar stories in a way. But for us, and we've said it at different times, even before we met each other, like our biggest fear is to not exceed our potential.
9:44So it's just funny that we both talked about that even before we met each other. That's cool. And so with that being said, like, that's what really what drives us because we know we have so much natural talent, charisma or all these things. And it's like, well, I need to make sure I get there and even exceed everything that I can even imagine. Yeah. And you can do it together. And we can do it together. And as individuals. But don't you find, and Elise, by the way, married her soulmate too. I love her. Which I know. I did. I did. You're soulmates. But it's, now I forgot where I was going because I started talking about you and Ryan.
10:17You're soulmate. You love soulmates. Yes, we love soulmates. Oh, but when it's really the right person, you also bring it out of each other. Yes. Right? We really do. Like, you really do make each other better. Oh, yeah. You know? And I love that. Yeah, me too. You know, because I want to be the best person I could possibly be. Yeah, I think we definitely balance each other. Yeah. He is the type that goes, like, a little overboard, and I have to make sure, like, you got to recover. You know what that means. That's so funny. So I still like we keep each other very much balanced because he'll just go, go, go.
10:52And it's like I scheduled him this massage the other day right after a match. You know, he went hard. Great match. But his back, you know, you know, we put our bodies on. Yeah. So he was a little bit after the match. I said, you know, I text our masseuse like, hey, can you get us in? I know it's Sunday, but can you just get him in? He was like, absolutely. So then after the two hour massage, he's like, oh, I want to go work out. And I'm like, no, you're not supposed to do that. Cancel that right out. And his butt feels great now. But then he PR'd and now his back is just like, ah, I feel it. I'm like, see, I try to help.
11:24You got to help yourself. Right. Right. It's a good thing, though. But I just want him to be smart. That's all. I know. It's tough. It is. It is tough. Like, it's just the drive he naturally has. But that's what I love about him. Yeah. Yeah. 14:31How many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off? Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks when you've got the practical stuff covered. And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar. They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim because Geico is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout out in the acceptance speech. Geico provides peace of mind and they'll do the same for you. Maybe it's not an Oscar winning performance.
15:05Maybe it's building a career, starting the business you've dreamed about or just taking care of your family. Whatever you're betting on, Geico will make sure you're covered. So, what is it like—so, tell me how you got recruited. Okay. Like, from your perspective, you're playing for the WNBA. No big deal. You're, like, such a crazy, incredible, sick athlete. right I mean you you went to Texas A &M and then you wound up at Mississippi right and like top of the top of your game top of the game and then you go into professional basketball yeah and like from WNBA to WWE that's my little okay I love saying I'm like oh that's so cool but The W's.
16:39The W's. Home of the W's. But, yeah, like I dedicated so much of my life to basketball. And even prior, I was doing all the sports, like just very active kid growing up. Always an athlete. Yes. And all your family athletes? Oh, yeah. They still have track records, basketball. Like, yeah. We don't have an option in my family. Yeah. And how many generations back does it go? Like, who's the original athlete that you know of? I mean, I met my great, great grandmother and I know she ran track before she passed my great grandfather. I mean, it's great, great. Yeah. Wow. Wow. I don't really know too many people in our family that didn't play sports.
17:21Yeah. And I can't imagine that when you guys have kids that they're not going to be. Oh, yeah. They have no choice. Yeah. It's really not a choice. Yeah. I think you'll be breeding Olympians. Yeah, exactly. You heard it here first. That's the goal. Yeah, you heard it here first. That's the goal. But, yeah, so I was doing all that. And I actually did do track and basketball still in college. So I was still doing, I was a multi-sport athlete in college. But once I graduated from Texas A &M, I graduated in three years, got my bachelor's degree, and I had another year left for eligibility. So I was like, you know, things are great at A &M, but I'm still really hungry.
17:59Like, I want more. I want to just win at the big ones. And so I transferred to Mississippi State and I got my master's there, but also got an SEC championship ring. So it worked out. Yeah. Yes, it worked out. Get that. And then while doing that on my senior year, I just kept. Wait, what did you get your master's in? I got my master's in, well, I got my bachelor's in telecommunications and broadcasting, minor in journalism. And I got my master's in workforce educational leadership. Wow. Yeah, just a lot of words, but it's very beneficial. I was going to ask you, how did your degree help you? Because some people are like, yeah, no, my degree didn't help me do whatever I'm doing.
18:41I definitely think undergrad helped me a lot. I always knew I wanted to be on camera and still have athleticism, though. WWE sports entertainment. I can't wait to get there because I just feel like, oh, this is for me. but to answer this question back in high school I had a show my maiden name is Howard so I had a show called Howard's Not a Coward and what I did in Westlake that's my alma mater in Atlanta, Georgia but I had a talk show there and I basically challenged the best sports athlete on each sports team and I would beat them and I literally would beat them, I literally would beat them, football players, golf was probably the only one that we kind of had to just you know a little rough you know let's still make me look good here but all the other ones i genuinely like beat the best sports on the team so i have something on a flash drive but i'm gonna get some more because i was like this was some good stuff i bet it was how cool i bet it's really it's you going one-on-one with like someone on the football team like a linebacker on the football like do drills like flip tires catch route that's so awesome yes we gotta see you know yeah so it It was really fun.
19:55Basketball, like be the best. Men's basketball, even though I was, you know, women's basketball. Just all different type of stuff. Yeah. And it got really fun. I even did like a robotics one in like a robotics club. Try to build something quick out of like two kicks. And you did? Yeah. You beat the people in the robotics club? Popsicle sticks. We like built something. Something a little more easier, but you know. Yeah. So it was really fun. And I felt like that's when I knew what my passion was, what part of my purpose was. And so that's kind of what helped me easily know I wanted to be a telecommunications major so I could be on TV and around sports.
20:32And at the time, I thought I was going to be playing in the WNBA during that season and then sports broadcasting on the other side. OK, so but what I'm doing now is just still all connected. Yeah. So talk about it. Yeah. I mean, I feel like so I did internships at SEC Network, ESPNU, like got to do a lot of talking on mic. whether that was talking about myself or talking about the athletes that I was interviewing. So I feel like that helped me a lot in promo class down at the UC. A lot of the things that they were teaching, I'm like, oh, my goodness, I actually am carrying these learning things that I've already known from college and these internships.
21:10So I feel like that really helped. You already had a little experience. Yeah, it really did. But obviously wrestling is its own thing. So I've learned a lot still on the mic in wrestling. But it was really cool seeing the crossover and the translation, even through basketball, my footwork on the court. A lot of it still applies in the 20 by 20 ring. So it's really just cool, like, my whole journey and how it just is all full circle. Yeah. So you're playing. Like, how does WWE contact you? Oh, yes. We went off track. No, no, trust me. There's many directions, and it's my fault because I ask all kinds of different questions.
21:48Just like Drake. But yes, okay. So WNBA season, this was actually right before COVID. So I graduated in 2019. I got drafted in 2019 as well. I was second round, 24th overall to Seattle Storm. So I got to play there a little bit. It was really, really, really cool opportunity. Never been to Seattle at that time. What do you think? I really enjoyed it. Seattle, the city, everybody says it's rainy. But during WNBA season, it wasn't as much. Right. I think what really made my time so enjoyable was my teammates. And I've been blessed on every program that I've been in, sports even now. Like, it's just always a camaraderie.
22:29And we genuinely have a good time outside of, you know, being on the court. So everywhere I've gone, any program, we actually hang out, like, outside of what we're doing. That's great. So they made it a good time for me. Yeah. You're a team. Yeah. A real team. And I feel like that's what helps you win when you actually love each other. That's right. Right. It's not rocket science, right? So that helped a lot. But anyway, towards the end, mid-season, injuries played a part. Not necessarily on me, but I was the only rookie. So they were like, oh, we got to cut a rookie because three of our point guards are hurt.
23:05So sorry, I wasn't a point guard. No. I could dribble the ball, but I'm not going to be calling those plays. I'll just grab the ball and do my own thing. But because of that, I understood it was business. And so they released me and then got point guard. So I'm like, OK, well, that means I got to go overseas, you know, and get some more film. I've always wanted to go overseas, but I never wanted to live overseas. So I was like, man, like I got these really amazing opportunities to go to China and Russia, which is the highest paying for WNBA, for women's basketball. So there's some good money on the table, but you'll be gone for like nine, ten months.
23:44Wow. And another country. In another country, you have to have a translator. Yeah. You really don't know what's going on. Different culture entirely. Yes. Different laws you have to learn. Oh, yeah. You know, like some places don't even, like in Asia, you can't talk on the elevator. So, like just crazy things that make seem. I didn't know that. Yeah. Jaywalking, like that. You can go to jail for that. We'd be in jail a lot. So, yeah, just all these different things. And I'm like, I love traveling, but I'm not trying to live overseas for nine, ten months. And it's not like three, four months. Exactly.
24:20It's nine, ten. That's like a baby. Yeah. I was going to say that. A whole ass pregnancy. I'm a baby. So talking to my agent at the time, I was just like, you know, these are great opportunities. But during this time, I literally started back watching, literally looking up on YouTube, just watching promos, WWE promos, random. The Rock, Stone Cold, like just anybody. So you didn't watch as a kid? I watched it in middle school before I got really, really heavy into traditional sports. I did competition cheerleading my younger years. But once I really got heavy into basketball track, all those sports, I kind of got away from like watching TV in general because I was so busy.
25:01But I was watching a lot of the Attitude Era back then. Okay, okay, great. And the truth behind it is I moved from like with my Nana. I moved to the south side of Atlanta and I was a little upset. So I just was like, I'm watching wrestling tonight. Like that's where the movie really kind of came about. And I started learning stuff. Might have gotten a couple fights, but who cares? Like that's fine. You were just building. But you won those too. Oh, of course. So honestly, that's kind of how I started watching. Wow. Because I was a little angry. Well, hey. Yeah. You know, it's the first time I've heard that.
25:37Yeah, I'm telling on myself. But that's how I got introduced to wrestling. And then, like I said, kind of got really heavy into other sports. And then circling back way later after WNBA, I just randomly started watching promos. And mainly just promos. I don't know. I just gravitated towards Macho Man. I love just watching them and seeing their charisma, of course, and randomly just doing it. So then I started seeing stuff. The phone probably knows, though. You know, the phone started showing me clips of like WWE. It does. Yeah. The algorithm. It's crazy. Like more like PC, though, not just like random promos.
26:19Like now it's PC stuff. Oh, that's good. Yes. The Performance Center down in Orlando. So I'm like, OK. So then I was talking to, you know, people about it. And I was like, let me look up the actual Performance Center website. So I went on there, literally saw application. I was like, okay, you know, I honestly have never filled out an application at this point in my life. But I was like, I'm just going to go for it. Yeah. I hyped myself up all factual, but I definitely hyped myself up. Sent in great pictures. Just told them truly my story and my resume. And then, like, within that week, they reached out to me.
26:51Cannon reached out to me, emailed me, and was like, we want to bring you down for a trial. And I was like, oh, my gosh. Like, oh, my gosh. I have to do it. And so I told my agent at the time, like, well, I'm going to go ahead and give this a shot. I don't really know what to tell you, but I'm going to do it. And that's that. I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. Yeah, and it was just contracts. Like, he sent the contracts already from China and Russia. Oh, wow. And I was just deciding what was best for me at the time. But I was like, oh, this option is best for me. Talk about that for a second.
27:21What is like I think oftentimes, especially young, successful people get pulled in the wrong direction. Right. By people who either are well-meaning or not. Yeah. You know. And how do you have the wherewithal to say, hang on a second? Like, I know you're you're pushing me. There's pressure. There's great money on the table. Like you said, it's an incredible experience. Exactly. You know, you're weighing, but something doesn't feel right in your gut. Yeah. How important is it to listen to your gut? What advice would you have for people who are in a situation like that? Right. Well, for me, one, I try to just I'm I feel like most of me being grounded is through my faith.
28:04And I just try to, like, do a lot of prayer, do a lot of that. But also, I'm very stubborn. So when I'm feeling like like towards this direction, honestly, it doesn't matter who's talking to me and telling me whatever. if I feel it in my intuition my gut spirit I just go with it and you know if I have to learn the hard way then I'm okay with doing that because whatever it is I choose I'm gonna give my 100 % I'm gonna go hard at all times so you know of course I've um had bought tense was better than taught sense you know so um you gotta you gotta buy that sense sometimes so I definitely have not saying I made all the right choices in my life but I feel like when I'm really honing on something I'm just like I'm gonna go for it but um I do think having good people around you it is beneficial even though like like I said for me I do just kind of go with what I want to do but I feel like maybe the reason because of that is because my nana actually has the one who's taught me like go with your intuition like go what's best for you she can even give me advice love my nana I might not go with what she said um but I'm still gonna listen I'm not just like you know oblivious and don't listen to anything and you know disrespectful or anything like that but I feel like she's taught me to to be a leader and to know what I want to do and in any decision I make and just know you know what the pros and cons to everything so I do always strategically try to weigh out the pros and cons to any decision um but that's kind of how I just live my life so you listen to advice from people you respect and trust the people I respect yes and then you weigh the pros and cons, and then you go with your gut.

Out of all the sports I've ever done, this is the hardest thing in my life, but I love it. Like, oh, my gosh, why do I love this? But I love taking these walks. It's a crazy feeling. I love it. I have this adrenaline rush that just feels different from other things.
33:29And so that first day. Because you were born to perform in every way. I was born to perform and being in the light and camera. That's right. What's so funny is my Nana and my Papa, they just put so much confidence in me. My Nana in my room, still back at home, she has Anriel, my real name, in lights. So she just already had that on the wall in my room and have lights on it. because she was like, your name is always going to be in lights. My papa, because I just like to be an entertainer. You know those kids when people are over, like, look what I can do. I was definitely one of them. My papa, which is my grandfather, he entertained it.
34:02So he would introduce me to everybody, to all the guests, be like, introducing Miss America. Like, you know, and he would say my name. And so they put a lot of that confidence in me. Oh, that's great. It was ordained, especially with their help and guidance. Because confidence matters. Everybody knew. Yes. Yes. Oh, talk about confidence. Oh, that I I feel like I've always had a lot of confidence, but it's just because my grandparents is such a good job. And like, I just pray whenever I'm a parent, I can instill it like how they do with me. Because they believed in me. They believed in me before I even knew what believing in myself really was.
34:40Yeah. And now I know what it really is. And, you know, even in life, like you'll go through ups and flows. and in my career, same ups and downs. And you just have to always circle back to like, okay, why am I here? What value do I have? And then I reteach myself like, oh, I'm here for a reason because I can do this, this, this, this, this, this. You know, everything is going to happen the way it's supposed to. So I had to learn a lot of patience in this business. That's what I had to learn. I was impatient. This is a common theme. But wouldn't it be with type A, you know? Because you can't control it.
35:13Successful people, right? Yeah, everyone wants it. control now I want it now yeah so but I learned patience and I learned the value of patience the art and science yeah so um yeah I know confidence can always be a big thing in life in this business but my biggest thing was for sure patience yeah and so you are a professional athlete who came into WWE you didn't come through the indies right and so do you feel like that is hard for you with fans or not really a factor, you know, everybody has to win them over regardless. Okay, yes. Okay, so tying this into confidence. Let me tell you how much blind confidence I have.
35:54So, like, my first couple matches, you know, I'm still learning, trying to figure it out. I got on to NXT doing a talk show, which is crazy because that's what I did in high school. It all circled back. I feel like it all comes from. Yes, lashing out with Lash Legend. Crazy. But it all circled back, so I was doing that, enjoying myself eventually because I'm trash talking so much. I got to get in the ring. So then I'm like, okay, it's time to get in the ring. You know, I think I did pretty decent, but it was still too early. Like I still had a lot to learn. Now looking back, I understand at the time I'm like.
36:28Right. Like I should have been in the ring. No, I'm just kidding. So I understand the method to the madness and I respect it. But so talking about this blind confidence, I thought like my first couple matches I did so good. I was like, oh, I killed it. everyone's gonna love me yeah and so I was trending for weeks but it wasn't for positive things and I thought like I was like oh they love me but I truly come to find out after the fact I was like oh they were they were talking a lot of ish about me but I didn't really realize I just thought I was popping so much like of course I'm joking so that's that blind confidence you know yes that's that's how confident I am Do you read the comments now?
37:15It's better not to. Not really. Even if they're positive. But I try not to. I try not to get in that. So since basketball, I've always had my social media. None of my notifications come to my phone. That's good. Because I'm like, no, I can't do that because basketball fans. I'm telling on myself. But one time I missed a game winner. I averaged a double-double. I did a lot of great things. Okay, I still got the rebounding record in NCAA. That's right. That's right. I was good. But I did miss a game winner. Oh, those fans turn on you so quick. Death threats. Like, it was crazy. So that's really what made me.
37:49Whoa. Yeah. They were crazy. I've gotten death threats, but I mean, I was an evil character. For what? Oh, yeah. But I loved your evil character. I was mean. I can understand why people might, you know, maybe be angry anyway. You're just great at your job. That's all. That's all it was. But yeah, so that from that point on, I said, oh, no, I'm not dealing with this. So I turned off all my notifications. So it's been off for years. That's great. Almost a decade. Beautiful. So good. Long time. Yeah. Would you give that advice to others? Yes. Turn them notifications off. What do you need it for? Like you're just and then social media is already so addicting.
38:27You catch yourself just doom scrolling anyway. Yeah. But if you really get those notifications every single time you're picking up your phone, every time I'm like, oh, my gosh, this person said this. Like, no, no, no. Yeah. So I feel like that at least helps eliminate half of that for me at least. So I would suggest turn off the notifications off your phone. When you open the app, you can do whatever, but at least limit yourself. So going back to what you were saying before, you've been naturally good at pretty much everything. You're so kind. So what was it like to not be as good right away? Did it challenge you?
39:05Did it light your fire in a different way? It motivated me even more. And thank God to all the wonderful coaches at the PC. And I tell the people there now, utilize. You don't even know how good you got it. Like these expertise in different things, whether it's technical wrestling, you know, physicality, like being aggression, like powerhouse stuff. Like you just have like specialty coaches down there. And I'm like, I better utilize it. so um once I realized the value who was in the pc I'm like okay like no I need to make sure if I if I need to do you know better in aggression go to fit finley if I need to you know learn these reversals a little better let me go to Norman Smiley so once I found out like dang this isn't coming as natural as I thought even though I'm a natural athlete I need to I need to put some extra work in so which wasn't a problem because I was used to putting an extra right yeah but it was just really you like the extra work yes it was really under this but what is what were you working on right um yeah it's like yeah well I feel like I'm executing these maneuvers right yeah but I would then I would go into to somebody that I really trust like a Matt Bloom his powerhouse like helped me a lot and fit Finley honestly those are those two for me in my journey at NXT um who I really really went to a lot and of course Shawn Michaels like it's his brand he knows what he want so I'm like okay what do you want what do you see um how should I carry myself even though I have my own idea right right but like you said you listen to the people you trust and respect yes and not all the naysayers it's so many opinions oh everybody has so you can't listen to all that yes just pick those couple people that you trust and go with that yeah and then you weigh the pros and cons and you listen to your gut I love it I love it and we you know we weren't rolling when we first came in here, at least not to my knowledge, but I just want to acknowledge your fabulousness.
41:01Yes. Because, I mean, the bougie bully. You gotta be bougie. That's right. You gotta be the... Every time she moves her hand, her ring. Well, and how about the sparkles on the face? And the hair. You do sparkle. Thank you. Y 'all are having me up. I'm just like staring at you. It's true. It's true. And you're this powerhouse, mega athlete, confident star. Yeah. Like, damn. Y 'all are hyping me up. I love you guys. Can I stay here forever? You go ahead and move in. Oh, yeah. You might have to get some comfy clothes, though. Yeah. What do you wear for comfy clothes? Oh, my gosh. Okay, let me tell you.
41:44I just got these, like, I guess it might be categorized as Pilates shoes, yoga shoes. They're the ones with the toes. Oh, yeah. Vibrams. Yes, I have Vibrams. I love them. Maybe we can get some Vibrams. Oh, yeah. Some matching Vibrams. Oh, yeah. Have you ever worn Vibrams? No, but I know that you are the biggest fan. I wear them. If I'm not wearing heels, that's what I'm wearing. Okay. I freaking love them. They're so good for your feet. Yes, and I really do feel a difference of my, like, I don't want foot fetishes, but my toes all activating. We have a lot of them. Like, seriously. So when I had three kids and my arches fell, and I have super high arches, but, like, everything kind of just gave out.
42:24But there's a lot of muscle in your feet. And the Vibrams retrained all the muscles in my feet. And I got my arches back. Yeah. Because there's no cushion. It's just like rubber on the bottom. But not. Those are the bomb. I'm sold. But people do run in them. I don't get that. And I saw one with hiking. I actually got tricky some. Because he saw me running all the time. I had to get him a different brand because they didn't have a size 15. So I found somewhere that had a size 15. Right. Don't do it. Don't do it, Steph. They said they can hike in it. And I was like, oh. Yeah. And I've seen footage of people running on the road.
43:04I haven't ran in mine yet. You guys just training them? I have zero interest to try to run. I'll kill myself in those shoes. Yeah. I'll wear some fluffy sneakers. I like the running sneakers. I wear them all the time. I love it. Yeah. They're squishy. They feel good. Vibram, my go-to. So that's what I wear. I love body suits. I love having stuff show off my body a little bit. I love it. I literally want to try to hang on. Give me the sweatshirt. I literally said when I saw you, oh, you look snatched. Body's tea. I'm trying to sit a certain way to cover up my stomach. You've always been snatched.
43:45There's some terrible pictures of me. There is one photo. a single photo with wrestling in certain angles it's inevitable I hate that but you've always been snatched I'm just saying bless you now you're making me feel good now you're making me feel good you deserve it the worst chance well not the worst but one of the worst was Steph's got side meat I'm not laughing I'm not laughing Steph's got side meat it's creative I know actually it was creative I'm not laughing so I was ringside I think that's what it is you know And someone yelled it. And I turned around with his face. Because it was clever.
44:23It was kind of clever. But it hurts. But also, ow. Yeah. And then I got to stand there in front of you the whole time you're saying that. It's just terrible. Well, I'm like, you're in the ring. Everybody can see. No, I was on the outside. All right. Well, I was trying. Yeah. Yeah, it was all bad. Haters gonna hate, okay? Haters gonna hate. They mad because they ain't you. That's all it is. That's right. That's right. But, you know, it came up. Charlotte said something. And then we told Javon last week. It blew his mind. It did. It did, actually. He was, his flabber was gasted. Yes. Yes. Yes. I love that.
45:00So good. But it's that you want to make haters. Yes. Go out there and make some haters. Yes. Because if they're not threatened, they don't bother. Yeah. Right? That's literally my favorite thing to do. So if people are talking smack, it's because they, you know, you're making an impact. Exactly. and there's nothing wrong with that I agree I love my haters I hope I'm getting an extra hater right now I'm sure we are somewhere it's probably because our logos definitely this logo elicits a reaction where is it this is our fanatics gear it looks comfy in partnership with Lululemon. Oh, okay, Lululemon.
45:49Right? Okay, yeah. I know. Yeah. And there were bottoms, too. Yeah. These are the bottoms. I am the bottom. Like, I really just want to run. These are the bottoms. Did you hear her? I did. That's a t-shirt. I did hear it. She's trying to make some haters. She's got me not confident. I can picture it. Yes. Love it.
46:14No, but the material. It looks great. I'm like, dang. Right? Right? I mean, we should. Yeah. Yeah. Got like a little mesh pocket in here. Got the models right here. Yeah. And partnership. Right? Because what's your story is a Fanatics WWE production. Yes. I love that. Yes. I just signed a million things from Fanatics two days ago. Yeah. Whatever day it is. I don't know. The last show. Yeah. You're on the road, like you said. Yeah. You know, I have a, I love my name, but when it comes to signing, I catch some hand cramps so fast. I do the full name. Yeah. Oh, you'll figure it out. Yeah. I feel like with fanatics, I give them my all.
46:55Well, yeah. I really do. You do it, I think, in anything you commit to doing. Yeah. Right. Because it's if it's worth doing, it's worth doing well. Right. It's worth doing. Yeah. I just might take longer than next person signing because I might catch a hand cramp. It's going to get there. Yeah. And that matters to people. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well, if they want your own crush. They're better. Yeah. I don't want to threaten anybody, but... Just saying. We talk a lot about iconic stories on this show. And when it comes to sports entertainment or professional wrestling, no stories are bigger than the ones written by WWE legends.

51:35So what do you and Naya do for fun? Oh, that's my girl. I just love her so much. I was actually, when I was getting my makeup done, my Miranda and she killed it, but right before, I was putting on beef tallow. Very random, I know. We're just going wherever right now. Yeah, no, no, it's all good. Wherever right now. I'm putting it on. I know. Yes. But they have a beef tallow for your skin. So it's like mixed with shea butter. Yeah, I'm told it does all different kinds of things. I've been getting the most compliments on my skin lately. And shout out to Naya because she's the one who put me onto it.
52:05And I'm like on my third jar of it. Really? Yeah. Yeah. What's it called? Do you want to give it a plug? You could just go on Amazon and look up beef tallow. And it's like an organic. Oh, just the regular? You said it was mixed with shea butter? No, no, no. Yeah, yeah. So it's whipped beef tallow. That's what it's called. whipped beef. And the whipped part is the shea butter whipped in the talo. Yeah. It's only like one legit good good one that you'll see on there. You'll get it. Okay. Yeah. Hearth. Hearth. Hearth. Hearth and Homestead whipped beef talo for your face is my go-to every single day.
52:42Double H. Double H. Love it. There we go. See how easy that was? Should we throw it up? Let's put it up there. So, yeah. Let's go for it. But you asked about Naya. Naya put me on with this. And I've been getting compliments. Like, I kid you not. So, do you guys do beauty stuff together? So, we do a lot of natural. Like, we love natural products. Yeah. So, she has her own farm. She's just amazing. Really? She has chickens. Yeah. I did not know that about Naya. Like, yeah. So, she's really honing on, like, organic and natural things. So, she just gave me some of her eggs. And they're, like, all different colors.
53:20Wow. Blue, yellow, brown. And are the yolks like super orange? Yes. Yeah. Oh, it's so orange and just like delicious. Yeah. So, yeah, we can actually taste a difference. For sure you can. Yep. Right there. So, yeah, we're honing on stuff like that. But that's my girl. She's taught me so much. I'm very grateful that she, you know, really wanted me to be her partner because at the end of the day, that's honestly how it happened. It was more like her wanting to come to NXT at the time and and have a feud with me. And I was like, you want to be with me, girl? Because I love you. I freaking love you.
53:56And you're an amazing powerhouse. And I just learned so much through her. So it was really cool that she came to NXT and was like, let's feud. And I mean, the matches that we had, I was just like, whoa. Yeah, well, because the two of you can do powerhouses. And I could do a little more extra because, you know, I got another big girl that can actually pick me up. Yeah. You know, a lot of people can't really. I couldn't pick you up I'm a little dense I'm not gonna walk you're gonna hurt me I know that you're strong I'm strong but you're stronger you're gonna win but yeah so yeah so I had the opportunity with Naya and it was just like dang we really get to work together I get to get to be taught so many things on a different level on a different perspective and yeah we tore the house down honestly we really did like the ring should have broke cause all that power houseness in that ring yeah I gave it all my all in that I really did it was really cool so yeah and then after that that's all my story right literally that's my girl yeah so after that we really had great chemistry even though it was against each other but really had just great chemistry and so you know she asked some of the best matches are when you have the best chemistry I mean truthfully I love chemistry the matches aren't any good when there isn't chemistry and I hate when we don't have chemistry.
55:19Have you had any matches where there isn't because sometimes it just happens. Yeah but I love them so I ain't gonna call them out. No no I'm not asking who. I just mean you've felt it. Yeah and it's like dang why can't we just get it together. Right but it's just off for some reason. But sometimes you do think it's a little worse than you know what it may actually be because you know producers who I really trust they'll be like no it actually was good and I'm like but I just feel like our timing it's just like yeah it's just like you know instead of just slightly like water you know like i just wanted to be smooth i get it um so yeah i do have a couple of those but yeah i do love those people no no of course and that's why it sucks because you want it to work yeah it's like why is this not working but sometimes it just doesn't work yeah but i think it's amazing when you do have somebody yes i was gonna say you have to go through those non-working moments fun we would have yeah like talking shit to each other and fighting each other.
56:16That's so much fun. I know, but we've said that we won't do that. No, no, I know, but it's just when because we'll get too competitive and too personal. Oh, yeah. I would not, but now I will. No, you would too. Oh, yeah, Steph. She gonna go there. On the next episode. We are doing a Steph Elise episode literally right after this. Wait, I want to just You can hang? Absolutely I told you I'm going to move in It gets hot in this room Right now it's pretty good temperature It's starting to climb It's getting there All that tallow tongue No, maybe not But my leg's out Maybe that's keeping me a little Oh, damn I'm a mess, I'm sorry Why are you apologizing?
57:13I love it I'm a lot to handle. You are everything. You're just giving the best possible energy. Yeah. I love it. I'm like, I need to start being more confident. Right? We all got to be confident. I mean, I won't be, but I need to be. You will be. Yes, I like that. You will be. You will be. Or else. I'm just kidding. So this won't give anything away by the time it airs, but why don't you say what you're going to do with your kids? She's very, very excited. I mean we're going to Disney World Disney but like this weekend oh good it's a good surprise they don't know I love that okay can I just suggest what are their ages if you don't mind me asking 2 and 6 so Magic Kingdom is the obvious doing the haunted oh yes it's the perfect time yeah it's the perfect time of year we went like a couple weeks ago they already had everything out I'm waiting until October 1st because then it's like officially It'll really, yeah.
58:13Yeah, they go hard in there. But if I may suggest, Animal Kingdom is my favorite. But to be fair, like I love just animals. I love safaris. I went on safari this year. Oh, yeah. Oh, wait. This is like very legit. I don't know. I feel like Hunter. Oh, he probably did. Trick actually and Trick told me. Okay, yeah. Maybe that's the chain of events. Yeah, yeah. I think that's what happened, honestly. But we want to do that for our honeymoon whenever we can. It's amazing. It's amazing. We went to South Africa to a place called Royal Malinois. Okay. I mean, and it was amazing. I love that. It was amazing.
58:54And to be like this far from a lion. Please tell me what your feelings were. You feel everything real. Did you feel yourself? Especially when they lock eyes with you. And you're like, do I look away? Apparently when you're in the vehicle, because there's no history in this national park of like the vehicles hitting, you know, animals, there's no generational warning by the animals. The jeeps aren't seen as dangerous. Right. If you stand up in the jeep, now you're changing the shape. That's different. Or if you're on land, two feet is dangerous. So it's very different. But when you're in the truck, they don't bother you.
59:40I mean, they've had like the maybe one in 20 years or something. Something happened. But it's like, it's. Was it open? So the very first day. No open. It's totally open. And you need to see these pictures because it's like. It's crazy. It's crazy. Photo shoot. It really is like a National Geographic. But so the very first. Like, OK, so we land. and then we're driving up to the, you know, lodge and there's literally a herd of elephants. That's my favorite animal. Walking, we saw elephants. In our backyard, we had elephants. Oh, yeah. No, right up against like our deck almost. There was one fence that did nothing.
1:00:25It did nothing. Yeah. They didn't even care though, right? What's that? They don't like, they're not fazed by you. No. Well, no, because they're in their own path. Okay. I mean, if you knew like our - No, no, no, but wait, but this is the, and so they, they, this one elephant is, and I'm asking about the trees because there's a lot of barkless dead trees and that's from the elephants. And they are so powerful that they can knock over a tree like just cause they had an itch. Yeah. You know, like they eat the bark, but then also they just knock over these trees. And that's exactly what happened in our path right in front of us.
1:00:58I mean, it was like, cue the elephants, you know, as we're driving up. That's crazy. I mean, we're driving up and that happened. I think your driver said something like, oh, that normally would take some sort of like strong vehicle to do that. No, wouldn't even. Yeah. Like how easily they did it compared to like. So strong. Yeah, it's crazy. I'll tell you now. You say it first. This is crazy. So. I just. OK, so let me tell you. So Drake and I, we actually, one of our dates that we always go on when we travel for work, we go to the local zoos. Like, this is our thing. I'm telling you, like, we love it.
1:01:38We want to do that for our honeymoon, do the safaris, like, all that. And so we always ask people, and I'm going to ask you, but we always ask people, if you were an animal, like, as far as their qualities and, like, their tendencies, what animal would you say? And I always say elephant. And then for him, he always says lion. Oh, wow. Yeah, I just feel like elephants are definitely the most respected in the entire animal kingdom. And very highly intelligent. Very intelligent. That's me. Very wise. Yes, it is. And just like, just big beings, obviously. I'm not little, so I feel like I relate most to elephant.
1:02:13But I really love elephants, and same with Trick. He really loves lions. So I have to ask, since we're already in this conversation, what animal do you feel like y 'all two resemble the most? I know mine because I've been asked this before. Okay, good. I do not. This is so fun. But it took me a long time to come up with. To like really figure out. What's like an animal that does everything for everyone all the time? A mom. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Like that. Like mama bear? No. Probably bear. Oh, I like that. I like that. Yeah, mama bear. That's a good one. A hundred percent. Yeah, like a brown grizzly bear.
1:02:54they're really protective and they don't play there you go I'm an eagle yes you are yes you are I'm a fucking bird why do you say you're an eagle I guess it's a great question because I wouldn't have thought to articulate it except I just feel like that's what I connect with You know, and I did hear a story about eagles that had a certain part of in their life. They either and I'm going to probably butcher this. So please forgive me. This is like my version. Yes. I think it's around like 40 years old or something. They either their beaks, you know, start to go, their claws start to go, their feathers start to go.
1:03:49they either die or they go through this process of almost like a hibernation and then they they kind of they bash their beaks up against they break their beaks so that their beaks will regrow they like they do all of these things and you know and it's a very difficult time was that a sneeze somebody was holding a hiccup for sure that's i know that's what i was gonna say um But then they're like reborn. And I feel like I went through a version of that. And, you know, we in New Hampshire, which, you know, is where Paul's from, obviously. And we have like a place up there and we have bald bald eagles that live there.
1:04:33So it's pretty amazing. I love that. All the time. And I've always wanted to fly. Always dreamt of flying in my dreams. Like, you know, love that. This is good. And, you know, eagles are like the ultimate badass symbol. They literally are. You know? And like, I love it. Yeah. You know? And the American eagle, right? Exactly. I'm American. I'm proud of it. And they have like tonal vision. Like their eyesight is crazy. But it's just not a sight thing. It's just like their mindset. And I feel like that's very relatable for you. I've seen them dive and catch. Do you know they can kill goats? Oh, I didn't.
1:05:09You would never. Yeah, no. They pick them up and bang them up against something. I knew like little like I've seen the footage. I've seen the cats, but I know those as well. I have seen this eagle do it. Yeah. Just kidding. Yeah. I saw an eagle on video. I saw an eagle in India, different looking eagle, attack a drone and it was the drone footage. It was cool. That's pretty funny. That's probably good. It's nice to see. I'm going to have to look it up. Yeah, that was fun. That was fun. Dang, that was really good and well thought out. Oh, thanks. Yeah, you know, honestly, I've been asked that so I've thought about it a lot.
1:05:42I liked that a lot. And I love that that's your thing. Yeah. Oh, so I'll tell you an elephant story. So I was, it was WrestleMania in Orlando a long time ago. And I was about five, six months pregnant. And we went to the elephant reserve, which is where the circus animals retire. And circus elephants retire. And it was just an elephant farm. Like it was the coolest thing. And yeah, it was amazing. And we were learning all about elephants. And then I'm holding Aurora, who is like one, and she's feeding the elephant a carrot while I'm holding her. And I'm like, I know it's an elephant, but I'm very protective.
1:06:24And I don't know what this elephant is going to do. It's a very big animal. You know, and all of a sudden I feel something brush my belly. And it is the trunk of the elephant brushing my belly. And then the trainer said, she's pregnant too. I'm about to cry. And I was like, oh my god. That was an amazing feeling. Yeah, I was like, she's communicating with me. That's all I need. And do you know the elephants, Chesty, for two years? They're pregnant for two years. That is mean. I mean, they're making an elephant, so I get it. Two years. That's rough, right? And when I heard that, I was like, oh, I'm sorry.
1:07:09I'm like, sorry, girl. Sorry, girl. But yeah, that was an amazing feeling. That should be in a movie. Yeah. And my Murph that I was pregnant with at the time has a real connection with animals. I love that. Yeah, she does. She always has. I mean, maybe she did in the womb. She must have. Like she once went over to baby chicks with their mom. Oh. And they did nothing. Like the mom? Did nothing. Wow. Until I walked up. Oh. Yeah. when the eagle appeared I ruined it yeah they probably thought you were eagle no no I was giving off the vibe you better not yeah because mama was right there and she didn't do anything I love that yeah but then I was like eyeballing the mama that's so sweet and she was eyeballing me you guys prepared nothing's gonna touch my daughter come at me fuck you up duck I'm just picturing you I love it I love it.
1:08:11Picturing you like what? At least I'll try. I love it. Maybe I'll lose. It would be funny. But it's like you running away. I love it. Either way, wouldn't get my girl. No. Yeah. I love this. I love when you go there. I'm like. Excited. Done. I love it. So what do you and Tricky like to do to like relax? Do you go to the movies? I mean, you go to the zoo. like what do you guys do when you're not on the road let me re-ask that can you relax he doesn't because it seems like that's what you're saying it's probably TMI but I have to sit him down I'm like yeah can he watch a movie or does he go is he either like going or sleeping he's really attentive of movies well I will say if it's like a feel good movie then he'll kind of ease and probably go to sleep.
1:09:10But most movies, like, he really does enjoy it. First of all, we watch The Lion King every night. Really? That's just his comfort movie. Oh, because he loves lions. Exactly. He relates. He's a lion. Right. Is he a Leo? No, he's a Gemini. Okay. But he doesn't act like one, y 'all. Okay. Hey, what is that sound? I'm sorry. I just have to tell you. I'm sorry. So, his birthday's May 26th and my birthday's May 6th. So we're 20 days apart. I love that. our wedding date was June 20th, 2026. So that's 6, 2026. So again, my birthday's on the 6th. 20 days later, he's just on the 26th. So that's our wedding date.
1:09:50Crazy. That worked out perfectly. Did you plan that? No. I actually just talked to him about it after the wedding. I was like, oh, wait, look what we did. Like I wanted a catchy date, but I didn't think about it that much. Right. So it was really cool how that played out. In hindsight. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But no, he's a great, great man. He's not a typical Gemini. Sorry. There's anything wrong with Geminis? Sorry. Male Geminis. I'm just talking about males. That's all. I'm great. You told me to be confident, okay? There's nothing wrong with Gemini. That's right. So I didn't realize you were a Gemini, clearly.
1:10:27I know, but you said this last time. When's your birthday? June 15th. Okay, June. Yeah, you're not even on the cusp. My brother's June 13th. He's very much a Gemini. One minute he loves me, one minute he's like, who are you? Yeah, I lived with, I had a roommate who was a Gemini. He was a true Gemini. I don't get that way. You don't. That's really good. I honestly didn't know you were a Gemini. That's great. That's great news. Yeah, I know. It's true. It's great news. Great. Love that for you. Sorry, guys. Yeah. When's your birthday? September 24th. Oh, September 24th. On Thursday. Oh, yeah. Hello.
1:11:03And I'm going to be the big 5-0. No, you're not. Yeah, I've been talking about it. No, you're not. Yeah, I am. You look great. Oh, thank you. But I already tell you this, but you, yeah, you don't even look great. I love that for you. Yeah. I'm excited to be 50, truthfully. I love that. Yeah, it's, you know what? It's a big birthday. It is. It's such an accomplishment. Yeah. And it is crazy how your perspective changes. Okay, so what are we doing? We're going to have a party? So it already happened. We went to Ireland. Had a party. Oh, love that. But now we have to have another one. Well, we're going to dinner.
1:11:34It's a great party. But that's great. I love that for you. Thank you. If I show up, you know. Yeah. Just bandage. Then I'll leave and let you have your privacy. You guys come join us for dinner. It'd be fun. It would be. It would be fun. Oh, the conversation. Yeah. Oh, that would be great. Let's double date. We should make that happen. Yeah. We gotta do it. Yeah. I'll make it happen. On the list. That's on the list for sure. Gonna do that. For sure. That would be good. That would be good. Yeah. That would be great. I love that. Okay. We're definitely going to do that. Yeah. I'll talk to mine and talk to yours.

1:14:25We've learned over and over on our show, while talking to people in entertainment, that success comes when you bet on yourself. How many times have we talked to an actor who took a big risk with a challenging role because they believed they could pull it off? Well, it's a lot easier to take those risks when you've got the practical stuff covered. And that's what Geico does so well. Imagine an actor driving to set to film the scene that's going to win them an Oscar. They're focusing on the scene, not on dealing with managing an insurance claim. Because GEICO is handling that. And they don't even expect a shout out in the acceptance speech.
1:15:01GEICO provides peace of mind and they'll do the same for you. Maybe it's not an Oscar winning performance. Maybe it's building a career, starting the business you've dreamed about, or just taking care of your family. Whatever you're betting on, GEICO will make sure you're covered. Learn more at GEICO.com. Okay, we're going to hear the voice of Joe. Do I need to call him? What do I need to do? Wait a second. First, you have to answer the questions. Oh, I know what we're doing. So this is like the newlywed game. Oh, okay. I love the newlywed game. So we'll ask you a question. Uh-oh. You give us the answer and then we'll ask Trick and see if he's got it. Okay, let's do it. All right. So what is your spouse's most unusual or annoying habit and what do they think it is?
1:17:24See, you're trying to think of how he's going to answer. But you've got to think of how he would think you would think. This is so detailed. I wasn't ready. Okay, okay, okay. For real, let me think of something. Okay. so I know we talked about blind confidence but he's number one in that um uh but a habit a habit a habit yeah okay honestly I think that is a good one as far as he won't sit down like his brain is just always going and like like sit down so he's just always going restless like I'm holding up the card restless okay but I taught him some good rest and now he sleeps better you're not you're not seeing anything to hurt him next okay You're all worried about him.
1:18:08I know that's how I felt too when I did that. I was going to say, they're so new into it. Yeah. And I'm like, my husband snores. Just kidding. So what was your very first impression of him? What do you think he's going to say is your answer? Oh, I didn't know he was fine. I just had to stay away from him. That was mine. Are you asking me what he does to me? Yeah, what he's going to say. Oh, likewise. He was like, oh, she's bad. I got to have her. okay and if your spouse won $10 ,000 tomorrow just on a random day what is the very first thing they would blow off the money on jewelry okay let's FaceTime him let's see what he says alright let's call Tricky his name in my phone is handsome husband another double H yeah yeah my boo didn't answer he gonna uh oh uh oh I used to have my ringtone when Paul would call crazy train there's a very crazy ringtone I need to do that people would look at me like horrified I'm like hi oh look who's calling me alright here we go hi Tricky she's been talking about you I appreciate it you ain't over there telling no lies no but I know you did when you were on the podcast uh oh uh oh okay so should I what's the easiest way to do this basically he can't hear you otherwise he asked me a couple questions and I already answered them and now he's gonna ask you these same questions he's gonna explain it better but we're going to see if we have the same answers essentially.
1:20:03It's the newlywed game. It's the newlywed game. What's up Trick? Can you see us? He's like you're in trouble. We asked her what is your spouse's most unusual or annoying habit? I know right? Well probably sometimes I only put my clothes up in the bathroom. Well that's not what I said. that's such a norm now try again I'm not trying to give you hints but just think about who you are I'm just going to say that
1:20:43he's overthinking it excuse me man I don't listen when you talk to me it's great you can tell him I forgot what I said You said he can't ever sit down. You can't ever sit down. Like, your brain's just always going, going, going, going. Oh, that's why I'm getting that. Okay. We'll give you the point. We'll give you the point. What? I'm giving him the point. Half point. Half point. Okay. So, what do you think Lash's first impression of you was? What was going through her head when she saw you for the first time? Hey, that man, I'm fine. Yes! Yes! Nailed it! That was exactly what she said. Verbatim.
1:21:29That was exactly what she said. Good job, good job, good job. And then finally, if your spouse won$10 ,000, meaning you, what is the very first thing they would blow their money on?
1:21:45Blow money on? Be real. I guess I'm on Jerry.
1:21:54We got two out of the three. Good job, boo.
1:22:00I did. Damn, man. That was good. That was fun. That was fun. That's great. What'd you say? I'm still working on myself. It's okay. We know who you are. You deserve it. You deserve it. Okay, thanks for answering. Well, thanks for calling me back, actually. Okay. Love you. Bye. Wait, say bye to everybody else. Bye.
1:22:26It's a party and you're missing it. Bye. You want to do it? Because I can't. She's like, take that. Yeah. Thank you. I would be that way too, please. You know, for me to be, you know, young and vibrant, technology is just not my strong suit. Oh, really? That's interesting. I feel like you have to be bad at something. That's just like. Oh, that's a good point. It's so much. That's a good point. Like I was telling Tricky that I want to hire like a social media manager. I'm just so bad at like. Well, it's helpful sometimes, you know, really. It's that point. We need to do it anyway. Yeah. But I love taking pictures.
1:22:59Like I love doing that. But posting and. My kids have said I'm terrible at taking pictures. Is it bad lighting? Well, no, I mean, lighting's everything. Right. Like that I get. But I like to shoot down. Oh, yeah. Because I feel like that's more flattering. Yes. And it's all about ankles. I don't like it there either. Yeah, they hold it down. It's offensive. And it's like. I don't like that. That's like under my chin. Yeah, don't do that. No, I agree. I had to teach my men to like. Right, that's what I thought. And then, no, apparently this next generation does it differently. I was going to say it's probably the next generation.
1:23:35They're all like tiny and beautiful so they can handle that ankle. Yeah. They love a.5,.5. Yeah, that was a thing for a while. .5. Yelling at me 0.5. I'm like, what are you talking about? I'm taking a picture. Quit yelling at me about 0.5. And they're like, mama, show me. Yes. Yes. Well, so you might not know how to work technology. Technology breaks around me. Oh, man. Constantly. It just doesn't work. It's very annoying. And it's like, I just kind of accept it. Yeah. Because this has kind of always been the way. Are you Destructive with it Well I am also destructive She is like a glitch You could call me a glitch A walking glitch No kidding When there was AM FM radios I could go to static sometimes Like around me I would walk by I would give Brand presentations In the office and we'd have like IT there they'd show us how to do it we'd test it, they'd leave and she'd go to press the button and it just wouldn't work.
1:24:47And I wasn't there when they were testing it. Yes, that's the important detail. Like we'd prep it before. Yeah, and they were always so happy because they would troubleshoot it because I was always like, guys, nothing ever works. So I'd like leave the room with all these execs so confidently and I'd shut the door and she's like, oh, let me just, they said this was working and I'm like, so after like the third time the IT guy shout out to Vincent. He's amazing. We love you Vincent. He's so much more than the IT guy but he would literally sit there and wait because every single time. Something's gonna happen.
1:25:20So I'm like it's fine Vincent's here. Like we got Vincent. Yeah. And then Vincent would be like what? Yeah. No I mean I actually brought Vincent on the road with us. Wow. When we would do brand presentations because Wow. Yeah well and now you're in someone else's conference room in a different company and you're pitching. You gotta have stuff at work. Yeah. It's not good. We had a tour bus for a long time and Terry, our bus driver, who became a part of our family and actually is one of my daughter's godfathers, but everything would break on the bus when I would come on. So it would work just fine.
1:26:01Paul would go on the road. It would work. Here I come. and everything would break. That's crazy. And he said, he's like, it's the most unbelievable thing. It sounds unbelievable. And it happens everywhere. I'm trying to remember. It was like an MRI something and they were like, we've never had this technical issue before. And she was like, I broke the machine. Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. It's pretty impressive. It's a real thing. It just happens. And like apps. Oh my God, at one point in time, nobody believes this. And I can't believe we don't have a screenshot. my emojis when they went they went bald and there was it was crazy wait like your own your own you know how the ones that are preloaded like I designed one that looked like me and they went you've been like just scalped I'm sorry it's true it was like her smiling oh my god it was like what happened to your hair and then there was like one that had like a wonky eye oh my god I was like winking, but just the top of the hair was missing.
1:27:07I'm like, what did you do to your hair? The first time you sent it, I was like, oh, fuck, she got a haircut. Like, this can't be good. And then she's like, do you notice that my... We were going through a really tough time, too. Because I needed it. It was so funny. Oh, my God, I forgot. But you told that the bald eagle. Holy shit! It makes sense! The bald eagle! It makes sense. ties all together now. It makes sense. We have to have those. Did you take a picture of that? I would love to see that. I thought that other people had experienced that glitch because it was such an odd thing. All of them.
1:27:57Where'd your hair go? It's not like it was just the background. Like it was an actual skull. We have to find it. That's good stuff. But apparently no one else has had this particular thing happen. You're just one of a kind. You're one of a kind. And I love that about you. No, thanks. Thank you. Apparently I'm one in four in the office, or I was, of people who have this like crazy tech glitch. That's like a real thing. It's a real thing. Yeah. Yeah. That's crazy. And when. Yeah. Yeah. When I used to fly all the time. I would always get the check. They'd always have to pat me down. And I would say like this just happened.
1:28:42Like last week. I was. And they're like. They said statistically that's impossible. I'm like. Well. I'm telling you. It's happening. I beat the statistic. Hello. That's crazy. Unless I'm on some list or something. Yeah. I saw your emoji. Yeah. Maybe. They were like. Reflecting. They were like. That's crazy. We have to find. Yeah, that's a good one. Because it sounds unbelievable. It really does. I don't think. Oh, my God. Yeah, it was like a period of time. That's really good stuff. I mean, it was crazy. I'll have to see this. And the first show we ever did, we had tested for weeks and weeks and weeks.
1:29:25And everything sounded good. We did fake shows. We did, you know, Ryan sitting in a chair and then she walked in and there was a buzzing on every piece of audio ever. And we were like, where is the buzzing coming from? And you're like, it's me. And it was like for real. It's it just is a thing. It's going to break around me one way or the other. I wonder what the science is like this crazy. I don't know. I think it's some electro something like a field, you know. Oh, also, we could never use the baby cams. Would never work. And cell phones also would never work. And we'd have the cell phone company come out and they'd check everything.
1:30:10I mean, wireless, cordless phones way back when, before there were cell phones. And they just wouldn't work when I was home. So we wound up installing permanent cameras in the baby. It was just crazy. That is crazy. Yeah. special man yeah i don't know if it's in a good way it is it is a pain nothing works because there's a lot of great tech you know yeah but like i'm like oh of course it's just not working like it's and other people are like no it should work i'm like yeah i don't it's just not right now it will it will in a little bit let me leave like let me just take a step out Yeah. No, I've done that, too.
1:30:54I literally had at one point in time, it was me and another executive and we were pitching somebody and I was the one clicking that we were seated and I was clicking through this presentation and manual button and it stopped working and it stopped working three times. Finally, I just passed the keyboard to her. And I said, would you please hit the button? And she's like, and she did. And it worked. That's crazy. Yeah, it worked for her. Yeah. I think you're just a superhero or something. But it doesn't serve anyone. That's where I'm like, you're a superhero. No, but it's like, not a good thing.
1:31:37You're pushing everyone to be a little bit better. No, I'm just breaking stuff. And finding solutions. Brain game. Pressure. Yeah. I don't know how to use my power for good. She'll figure it out. That's too funny. Well, thank you so much. This has been awesome. This has been so much fun. It has been so much fun. You know, Paul really wanted me to interview you too. Really? Yeah, he said, I think she's going to be a fascinating guest. Oh, thank you. And he pushed you for a while. Wow. Yeah. I'm honored. Even before Trick. He was like, you need to interview that. Tell her that. Yeah. Yeah. Never mind.
1:32:19I'm very appreciative. Well, and actually I want to ask you one last life question. So going back, what are some of the core lessons you learned in terms of, you said an athletic family, but going back to your values and being driven, you have to, you're born with that, I think. but what are some of the key values that you were taught or that you found in yourself being in an athletic family yeah um that have gotten you to this place yeah I definitely think you are born with it but you're also taught it because you see it it's in your environment if you see it yeah like it was just my environment it's like oh that's a really good point yeah so I do believe like the power of a good environment um can affect those in it so i feel like i was just a product of my environment honestly um but with that being said like even outside of their sports how they lived their life every single day with whatever challenges they had to go through or adversities like the tenacious attitude was always there and anything they did like and it was just so cool to see and like just wanting to be the best at whatever they did that's just the competitiveness.
1:33:36Right, right. And driving. So the competition's real in anything. Board games? My Nana, she's amazing. And she's in her season. So she's playing tennis right now. Wow. She's won her senior citizen tennis. How cool. She looks great, by the way. I hope she doesn't get mad at me. But she's almost 70, but she's like killing it in tennis. And then my papa, he won the senior citizen inside of like swimming at one point. That's awesome. Yeah, they still are just very active. That's awesome. Even retire like that. They enjoy that. Are they competitive with each other? In board games, like fun. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:34:16But they play different sports now. But as far as like family fun games, like Christmas, we'll do some really competitive fun games. Like what do you play? Uno, Spades. Uno, I love Uno. Yes, Uno is fun. My Aunt Brittany, I love her. She just loves, she has a natural creativity about her. So she's the one who hosts like that part of, you know, the fun challenges and games. Oh, that's great. That's fun. Yeah. And she comes up with different ones. Like, so you don't really play the same one all the time, except for like cards. Yeah. We do Uno too much. Yeah. But Uno's fun. It is fun. They just came out with the Uno.
1:34:54And it's vicious. They came out with, I can't remember the name of this Uno, but it has plus 10 on the cards. Plus 10. Oh. Plus 10. Do you stack? Do you play stack? Both. Mainly my family stack, yeah. Yeah. And Tricks family, yeah. We both stack. I mean, I guess you get a plus 10. Yeah. You get a stack. Oh, it gets nasty. It does, right? It's ruthless. Draw a team card. Oh, I got one for you. You just wait. Oh, you're going to get skimmed. This, that, that. Blue. Yes. Yes. I know you ain't got a blue. So I'm going to say wild card blue. Draw two. Oh, you didn't call Uno. Oh, I love that. See, we'll play against our son who's almost seven.
1:35:35And, like, he's just kind of getting it. And then he throws down, like, a draw, too. And I'm like, oh, all right. Oh, yeah. Oh, you're going to do that to me? With a little intent. Yeah, I know. So now I'm like, oh. I'm the mama, huh? Yes. Like, oh, we're learning early that this isn't actually a game. Yeah. Like, you're serious. It is. But it's really cool to just see, like, how everybody's just, like, so competitive, so driven in my family. So it's been amazing to just see that and want to want to be that, you know, in all aspects of life. And basically, you said that you're a very religious person.
1:36:11Yes. So that's those values were instilled throughout, I imagine, growing up, too. Yeah, absolutely. And that was another thing. Like I said, you know, life's the ups and downs, but just having your faith and just having something that keeps you grounded and just know, like, we're blessed. Like I tell myself that all the time because it's really true. Like I'm so blessed. So any little ups and downs, it's like I can get through this. Like, you know, I got God on my side. We're good. So I definitely feel like my faith has kept me grounded. And that was also instilled, you know, in me. So it's really I just I'm loving life.
1:36:48I really am. It's really cool to see like all the amazing qualities that I've learned and work ethic and the things that I think that my people are proud of me. But I learned it from them. Yeah. Oh, I love that. I love that. And they're proud of you. Yes. Yes. And same with Trick. Like, his family, they just love him so much. And I bet they love you guys together. Oh, yeah. Like, I'm very grateful. My nana was like, you know, to have a mother-in-law that really loves you, like, that's special. You need to know that. And I'm like, yeah, it is. No, I have an amazing mother-in-law. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:37:26But, you know, a lot of people don't always experience. Yeah, it's very rare. So I am very blessed. I love Mama B is what I call her. So, yeah. And Pops. Love everybody. It's really cool. Going back to love because that's what it's all about. Love, yes. I love love. I love love. I love love. I really do. Okay, last question. I'm sorry because I keep going. No, we can talk all day. But how do you balance gratitude, being humble, and confident? How do I balance gratitude? How do you keep it from becoming arrogance versus confidence? Yes. And does your faith help keep you there? Yes. You talk about being grounded, right?
1:38:11I have to check myself sometimes. Yeah. Because you're a pretty incredible human being. Thank you. I really appreciate that. But I definitely, I've had phases where I was just feeling myself a little too much. And I'm like, okay, I'm sorry. Better that way, though. Yeah. Right? It's a good problem to have. But yeah, like I don't want to I don't want to change my heart's posture, you know, and I feel like that's part of it. Like I absolutely I preach confidence, please. But arrogance where you're not coachable, teachable, where you just like, you know, don't listen like that's not OK. So I try to always make sure to keep my heart, my heart's posture in the right place.
1:38:49And I think that's part of being able to keep myself on that fine line of confidence, cocky or arrogance. yeah that's beautiful your heart's posture I know I've never heard that before but it makes perfect sense yeah it's beautiful and I feel like that's part of like biblically I feel like that's what we're supposed to do as well so I feel like it all goes hand in hand it does but it's not an easy journey it's not right you gotta learn it through different things that's right yeah and it's okay to learn lessons and it's okay to make mistakes yes and too many times I think we get wrapped up in that where we have to be perfect in some way right like no you're gonna screw up right in every possible way yes you're gonna say something that's gonna hurt someone's feelings you're gonna you know have times where you need to check yourself you're gonna do something that you wish you know that you are appreciative for the lesson right right like you're human yeah forgiveness and forgiving yourself I think is important too yes you know And one of the things I can't stand, again, since we continue on with very different directions, but why do we shame ourselves so much?
1:40:05I know. Right? Shame is awful. It is. Awful. It is. Like, no one deserves, I mean, there are people who do. And the power of the tongue, again. Right? Biblical. That's not what we're supposed to be doing. Right. Because the power of the tongue is so real. It is. It's so real. It is. Even if you think you're just playing, like, don't put that out. don't yeah i know and it's easier said than done because a lot of times human nature exactly a lot of times sometimes people are genuinely just joking around but it's like don't even do that you know and then some people aren't joking around it's like no don't think that way about yourself like yeah you know say these affirmations which i love affirmations oh okay great this is a tool affirmations i've been loving um so like i said with my nana and papa they they basically put those affirmations on me like they always said these amazing things that I started to believe and I see now like just through social media and parents that I know they make their kids say these affirmations and I love it are there particular ones um yes so Matrix younger brother we're the same age Hassan he has a son so Matrix nephew oh sorry Tricky's nephew Tricky's nephew he um he says his affirmations every day and that's taught through um their mom and um and hassan as well which is his dad so it's really really cool to just see how he believes these things he says it every night before bed right before his prayers and it's just like it these things are going to be instilled in him yeah another thing is can you give an example um like i am strong i am confident i am a king i like all these different things and what's so crazy is tricky he loves music so he did the song dedicated to his nephew that literally it's affirmations.
1:41:50That's the title of the song. And so it literally is just saying all these things that you want to say about yourself and believe in yourself. And it's so powerful. It really is because not that he wasn't, but you could just see like, oh, I am strong. I am, you know, like you can see it. And there's neurological studies that have been done that actually demonstrate. Yes. Your brain will start to believe the things you tell it. positively or negatively. It is so real. Yeah, it is real. And I believe in the power of momentum, right? And positive momentum begets positive momentum and the same is true of negative.
1:42:29Yes. I was watching the Michael Jackson documentary and apparently he had affirmations. I've never read that or anything but it's in the documentary. It's just like one part and he's saying these things. you know it's pretty cool it is so cool I loved that documentary I mean I know there's a lot of you know people say a lot of things about Michael Jackson but I always loved Michael Jackson I just did I'm excited to see the second part of it yeah yeah but that makes sense that he like I didn't must have been dozing off on that part but I didn't notice that he said that so that's like he's looking in the mirror or it's like just one part But I noticed it.
1:43:15Wow. You know, because, well, I guess it just stood out to me. Yeah. That's awesome. It's so real. So I really think that that's something amazing to do just for yourself. Yeah. Say these affirmations. And don't feel shame. And don't feel shame. Look in the mirror and tell yourself, I'm beautiful. I probably do that a little too much. You can never do it too much. No such thing. But you can never do it too much, honestly. Yeah. And even if you're, like, sad, I've done it when I'm, like, not feeling the best. Right. And it changes my attitude. it truly does I love that it truly does like even if you just don't even want to say it but when you say it and like mean it yeah you just feel this conviction it's like wow like okay I feel better so that's my advice I love it I love it yeah and that's a great way to end yeah yeah thank you so much thank you for having me this has been incredible I had so much fun oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
