Because we went to a sushi restaurant. Okay. And she goes, ooh, avocado. Oh. It was the wasabi. Wait, it was your first date? Yes. Yes. She told me, this ain't no avocado. I'm like, no shit. It was the wasabi.
0:34So, yeah, let's go. Let's go. What's up, y 'all? Welcome to What's Your Story? And is this the first time you guys have ever done anything, like, as a couple? Outside of Total Divas, yes. Yeah, yeah. Like, first interview? It's been, yeah. Or no, not a first. It's just been a long time. It's been a long time. All right, all right. A long one. Not a first time. Things have been happening, you know. We done growled up a little bit now since Total Divas. We're honored. Yeah, I think outside of Total Divas, I think this is the first official. And Total Divas was how, because you dated for what, five years before you got married, roughly?
1:11Yeah. And then, so Total Divas was where in your marriage? We got married on Total Divas, yeah. We met in 2009, developmental. We got married in 2014 on Total Divas. So maybe like. It's been a while. Yeah. Yeah. 11 years. Yeah, we going. Married 11 years. That's amazing. Congratulations. That's wonderful. Give me some. Give me some. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely.
1:45It's a hell of a fight here, boys. Has it gone quickly? It's a hell of a fight, guys. Stay in there. You got to bob and get her some weed. What would you say, Jimmy, is the key to a successful marriage? I think our conversations are like the thing that we've always had in the beginning. So I think that's what's been very key is us still being able to talk, communicate. You ask the question, man. Well, I'll ask elderly folks when they're just chilling in the restaurant or they're just like, you know, hey, what's the key, man? The majority say communication, keep it new so it don't be old. So I was like, we always got to talk.
2:32We always got to make sure. Because then we're on the road. That's the thing. Yeah, it's hard. And we're in a public eye, so we really always can't say what you really want to say or be vulnerable in front of your fans or family or friends. So we make sure we check in. You get your alone time. Checking in is cute. Checking in, making sure you're okay. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Because okay can look like not okay. Yeah, fine is my least favorite word. It's neither good nor bad. I'm fine. If I ever use that word, it's not good. No, you're not. Yeah, but I don't think Paul is aware of this. I certainly am. I've been fine many a time and it's just rolled on, so we're good.
3:22Checking in, though. Yeah, checking in. What does check-in feel like for you? um i just think it really helps me when we're physically together yeah and traveling on the road i am definitely i think the more of the clinger in the relationship and i always feel more at ease and like less anxious when he's around me and around and um so i think us working and performing doing this together um is what's best for me because we've also done it not together And at first, after being on the road for so many years, I was excited about that. But I quickly realized in a couple months, like, okay, yeah, I'm ready to be back with John.
4:07And it gets hard to balance it. And he's my best friend, my partner. So it's definitely a huge change when we're not together. It was definitely hard, though. You know, work, being with your, you know, significant other. You know, being around each other straight 24-7. When I mean 24-7, some people would downplay that now. Oh, we together 24-7. No, y 'all not. No, y 'all not until y 'all really are together 24-7. Every minute of every day. But at least I knew back when we first started dating, I automatically knew I could be around her 24-7. Yeah, which that's amazing. And you wanted to be. Yeah, man, until you really get tested.
4:51Until you're in these cars, man. You know, you're forced to, like, you know, you can sit, you know, traveling. Y 'all know how we rock. We're always traveling on the road. And, you know, those car rides, four or five hours long. They're long. Yeah, you can do the silent treatment if you want to. So do you listen to podcasts? Do you listen to music? Do you just talk? All the above? Yeah, man, we'll be throwing our little shows on, which probably ain't safe to be doing. She'll get the little shoe or whatever we got to do to pop that phone up. We've been bringing them phones up in the car. I'm watching all kind of stuff.
5:25I sung the Shania Twain, the whole album, Come On Over. From beginning to end, One Ride. The whole thing, word for word, it had it blasting. And you had a great time doing it. I was living my best life. Did you have a great time? I mean, a few of them, she does this little thing. She remixes the song in this horrible... Still, she goes, I'm telling you, you always do too much. Well, it makes me laugh. It's hard to make me laugh, too. I was telling you earlier, I haven't had a good cackle in a minute. She'll make me laugh here and there. See, I told you about that. It's the chair. No, I'm telling you.
6:03Sorry, y 'all. Yeah, man, she makes me laugh. I keep him entertained. Yeah. But is he laughing at you or with you? Both. That, I don't know. Depends. Yeah. You laugh at me. Hey, it's cool. Like I was saying, if we climb on you, we like you. We make jokes around each other. You know how it is. If we joke around each other, it's cool. Even our friends. If we don't joke with you, then. Yeah, then it's a problem. Hey, what's up, man? How you doing? Exactly. Yeah. See you later. That's it. That's it. That's it. But, you know. But it's hard looking over at you, Trin, because, I mean, you're sparkling and everything with your outfit, and you have this jewelry under your eyes and the big rock on your finger.
6:51I know, that rock keeps touching on me. I mean, it's just like I look at you and I'm kind of blinded by the light. Thank you. Thank you. And also because you're shining so bright right now. And I think you're the hottest you have ever been. Thank you. And you're this incredible role, I'll call it, that you're playing. I mean, proceed with caution. I was a little nervous, you know, coming in here because God only knows what we're going to get. But I am loving every second. I know. I know. Don't worry. I'm over here minding my business. But how do you feel? I mean, you know, there's this great quote by a woman named Diana Nyad who swam from Cuba to Florida.
7:32And it took her like 40 years to actually make the journey. I want to watch that documentary. So I haven't seen the documentary, but I read her book. And I'm sure the documentary is awesome, but it's phenomenal. and I heard her speak one day and she said it's not about who you become once you reach your destination it's about who you become along the way well it's the journey right and you've had such an incredible professional journey you know where where are you like how do you feel about everything that's happened and that includes by the way you having the courage to walk away when you felt you needed to, you know, and then come back.
8:13I mean, what have you learned on this journey? And how do you feel about where you are right now? I have learned so much. I came into this world, this life, this business, this job, not really sure what it was about, where it was going to take me. It was kind of just, in my mind, a transition until I figure out what was next. Because you were dancing professionally at the time. Uh-huh. And I heard about this and thought it would be cool. And I was like, I don't know if I'm going to be any good. I don't know what's going to happen. I don't even know if I'm going to get hired. But I'm going to try this until I see what's next.
8:51And then it just took over. And I met my husband, the love of my life. That changed my life. And us both being blessed enough to rise in this together. it's just been an incredible journey and something that I didn't see and didn't really have the time to like stop and process because we have been just going non-stop for years yeah and I think when the walkout and all of that happened I think that was the first time honestly in my adult life where I had the chance to stop, rethink, redefine, and figure out what I really wanted next, how I wanted my life to move forward from this. And I really, like, in the beginning, struggled trying to process that.
9:47I thought I didn't want to wrestle anymore. I thought I was done. He was also in a different point in his career. Yeah, I was very busy. He was in the thick of bloodline. We was cooking, cooking. I was getting burnt on both sides. I can't go home. I was getting burnt that word around. I didn't know what to do. It was such a crazy time. He did such a great job, but also I had to go through a lot emotionally and mentally on my own because he had his own stuff going on. And that was the first time where I just had to do the work on myself. And it was, I think it was great. It made me stronger. It relit a fire in me.
10:38I became a lot more confident in myself because I didn't have him to reassure me on, you know, things about work. And I just thought I grew so much through that and through that time period when I was gone. So when I came back, I was ready, I was refreshed, and I was intentional on what I wanted this time to be like. And I just, I focused, I locked in, and I worked hard on it. And it paid off. Yeah, it did. Amen. And how did you get there? because getting to that place is not easy. No. And especially confidence. You know, I find building your own self-confidence in what you can do by yourself.
11:29Yes. You know, what were some of the tools? How did you get there? How do you think you got there?
11:39I think having such a great support from my family, from my husband, but also just the connections and the relationships that happen outside of WWE. And for a long time, it's just a lot of it is my own thinking. Because we are our own worst enemies all the time. And just kind of getting, stepping out of my own fears and taking risks and taking chances and realizing that, all right, I feel like I'm at the lowest of the low. You know, so it can't get no worse than this. You know what I mean? Yeah. I lost my job. I'm no longer with my family, I feel like. My camaraderie and the sisterhood, I felt like I lost that, which wasn't true.
12:34Which is what you felt like. It's just what all these emotions that you feel and then just not sure, just the strain that it puts on so many other things, but you just got to work through it. You can't, I gave myself some time to kind of be down about it, but I had to pick myself up. And keep moving forward. And keep moving. And it was, it got to the point like, okay, this is the last day. I'm going to sit and waddle about this, and then I'm going to get up and get this train back going. Because I realized when everything stopped for me, everything kept going for everyone else. Yeah. Even him.
13:11you know yeah so as it should right sure of course so we'll go on with or without y 'all everything that's that's without any of us yeah yeah it's going it keeps going it keeps going yeah i think um also it gave me um just a whole new appreciation and you know absence makes the heart grow fonder um me being home i went through a shoulder surgery and just Just physically like, man, I feel like it's taken away from me. And I thought maybe I was ready to kind of transition into a different part of life. But then in that moment, I realized, oh, no, I ain't done yet. I ain't done yet. There's still more in me.
13:58There's still more I want to do. There's still more I got to do. And I don't want it to end this way. And even through all of the messiness of that, I think the beautiful part of it was me fighting through that. and pushing through that and wanting to prove that there's more for me to do and accomplish, not just in wrestling, but just as a woman and someone who's growing and going through, like, a difficult time and a transition in life was kind of what happened. I think it's so beautiful and so hard to do. And, you know, I try for the audience to try to get like takeaways, right? Because everybody has low points in their life.
14:44Everybody's been through something, whatever it is. And how can we help get them to the other side of that? And sometimes it's stepping away and sometimes realizing what you want and what you don't want. Yeah. Right? You were like, no, I don't want this yet. I thought I did. I'm not ready. I want to go back. I want to try this again. Yes. And that takes so much courage. I mean, it just really does. I'm so proud of you. Thank you. And I think also the notion of being intentional. Yes. You said you were intentional about your goals. Mm-hmm. So before you tell me about that, I'd love to know what it was like to watch her struggle and go through this.
15:31because I can't imagine it was very easy, especially knowing that your star was rising. Yeah. I felt like I couldn't be there like I could have been, you know, with my time at least, at least just being around her a lot more because we were on different schedules, and my schedule picked up tremendously. And, you know, I was having fun, probably the best fun I've had in my whole career because now I'm really with my brothers really doing it, but then also this happens. So I watched it. I learned a lot from her growth. Like, the courage to step away and, like, to watch go over there to TNA and cook over there and become the champ and flip that place upside down and represent it, right?
16:12And I watched it. I watched the struggles, man. I learned a lot from that. You know, it brought us a lot more closer. You know, it made our relationship a lot more stronger. She's made me.
16:29Man, I'm tripping right now. Yeah, I didn't think I was going to get on. Don't cry. You're going to make me feel right. What the hell is going on, man? This ain't this ain't. That's because he loves mine. Well, I learned a lot from her, man. And it was a hell of a year for her. And to see where she is now, like to see that whole turnaround and like to stay with her guns, right? And to shoot for what she believes is her. And this is the most authentic we've ever seen, Trent, man. Yeah. And the cool thing is that she's having a blast. Like, I know you having fun because I watch her and I know she's having fun because I enjoy watching.
17:04I'm a fan of her, you know. I'm a fan of all my brothers, man. Like, I get to sit down and like and watch and to know that they having fun because that's why we let things like. I heard this OG tell me one time, man, I was complaining about flying out. And he was like, hey, brother, remember, don't let your dreams make you feel like it's a job. Like, yeah, it's your job, but don't make it feel like it's your dream. Go out there. Get on that damn plane that you've been flying out and go do what you love to do. And I just remember, like, you know, perspective is everything. Sometimes we need to sit our ass down and humble our own selves sometimes because we think we it.
17:46Sometimes we think we it. And, yeah, I've been caught slipping a few times. they can admit you need to humble yourself or something's going to humble you. If you don't check yourself, y 'all going to make sure you're going to get checked one way or another. I was able to sit and just be around her and learn a lot, man. Very happy and super happy to be on this podcast because it ain't me. Trinity has always been like, come on, we're doing it together. Together, together, together, together. together. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You don't grow together, you grow apart. So, I don't want to grow apart. I think it's, you know, we watch our family have hard times.
18:31Our friends go through hard times. We just try to, we're here for a short time, right? That's right. And it goes fast. It is. And we're already here now. Like 40. Like that transition she was talking about, that was a baby transition. I'm almost 50. Well, you don't live it. 49 in September. Yeah, man. I'm a little ahead of you. That's what they call goals. I'm right behind you. That's what I feel. This body feel it. Yeah, well, you're in the ring all the time. Can I just say, having seen Steph have conversations with, like, Punk, Cody, about the whole, like, stepping away and coming back to hear a female tell her story and her side of like why you did it and what you went through it's just that much more inspiring because it's that much harder i think as a woman to to do anything right and for you to be like i'm gonna come back and be on top yeah now you are just fire yeah i mean thank you loving loving it all so thank you fangirl moment yeah we all right man because when she stepped away that that it was family talk we was thinking about starting yeah like because we got when she left It was like, all right, I think I'm done with wrestling.
19:45But then, like she said, something lit up in her. I'm not done yet. Yeah. I hate to say it, but all of our digital privacy is under threat. But don't worry. Um Yeah Yeah Some of it was like just Some of the things I read And that was really pissing me off Like what?
21:31I'm like y 'all not gonna play with me like that Y 'all doing too much now. She was ready to go ham. I was like, don't respond. I'm telling you. Just lay out. Do not do that. Steph, it was bad. I would be in the house talking to myself. Oh, no. Oh, no. Does she do that a lot? Like reading stuff. That laugh. That's a real laugh she be doing. She was practicing. That's that real. You see some stuff online and you like, come on now. She's cutting promos to herself and you're like, oh, uh-oh. I've seen that look. The look y 'all checking out. Y 'all see it on TV now. Proceed with caution. Look. I've been conceived.
22:06That's how I live my life. Come on, I've been seen that. It was some of like just wanting to prove people wrong. And also, I have never quit anything in my life. And I didn't like the feeling of that. And also, I wanted to make my parents proud. I have stepkids. You know, I wanted a better ending for them, for all the work I put in, for my story, for legacy, for everything. And, yeah, I just, once I locked in and told myself, all right, we're doing it, I didn't change that. And what's your self-talk like? I try to be very positive. I do believe in the power of words. Be honest, Trim. Be honest with that self-talk.
22:57I'm in there. I'm in there. That's why I say I try to be. I try to be. Oh, there it is. All right, all right. You know? All right. Try. Try. Because I think it's a natural thing to have those just fears of not delivering or something going wrong when you go out there to perform or what if this happens. It's a constant. So I do talk better to myself now, and I think that's helped change a lot of my perspective where it's, you know, just get some of those negative thoughts or fears out. I'll remind her. She'll blatantly just start talking. Just on the way here talking about SummerSlam. Man, it's a lot of pressure.
23:40I just feel like... Girl, you know who you are. Do you know who you are right now? Yeah, you are right. The self-doubt creep in sometimes. It's hard not to. It is really hard not to. It's helpful to have somebody remind you who you are and what you're capable of and what you can do but you have to believe it yourself yes yes yes and that's easier said than done yeah but you are out there proving it and doing it so don't let that voice get too loud i let it win before yeah now i fight it now yeah yeah f that voice f it you know we only get this opportunity one time yep and look at what you're doing with yours.
24:26It's really remarkable. It's really, really, really remarkable. I mean, I remember Funkadactyl days. You did the Fit series. I did. We did an exercise video. I was sore for days after that. You have all those extra sweatshirts. That was actually a really good video. It was a good workout. It did work. If you did it for real and right, it was legit. watched it or did it. If you did, though, you can still find some clips online. The next episode. Yeah, Fit Series it's called. Paul did one, too. Yeah, I watched that one. Big Jim wasn't in the video? No, I wasn't in there. I was watching, like I said.
25:11I was just watching. Yeah. So what is it that you feel like you want to do next? What is your dream? What fulfills you? It's already, I'm lucky enough to say it. My brothers are in there. And this is the first time. I'm having so much fun. I'm telling you, Solo, my younger brother Jacob is now in there. We got Lance that's down at NXT, signed. Roman, obviously. Jay. Trent. Tamina. Nia. Hell. It's like Saturday barbecue come to life. Man, I'm telling you. And then we're out here wrestling each other. Like, I wrestled solo last week, and in the ring, I'm looking at him again. I'm just, I'm so present now.
25:57That's my biggest thing, what I'm for now is being present today, man. And why? Why is being present so important? Because we can sit here like we're humans, right? So we'll sit here and just beat ourselves up about our past or decisions that we shouldn't have done, especially when you thought you've learned from something. you know, relationships with other people, money, hell, you know, it's a big, it's so much, all spectrums, right? Yeah. And, you know, I found myself being, like, very bitter at one point. Like, how am I bitter and I'm married to everything's good, work, I get to do what I do, but, like, what's happening here, you know?
26:45So how did you flip that switch? Well, I turned to social media. I got on social media for about two years. yeah told my wife turned everything off yeah in the midst of being on tv too but i was like it's it's it's just turning everything off like mentally you know and that's hard to do yeah that's very hard to do it ain't easy to do it's learnable you know so i just learned like being in the moment i think is what like it's it's helped me you know be there for trend or my brothers or like my cousins anyone anybody you know so like if you talk to me i'm eye to eye now. Yeah. You don't think you were before?
27:22Like, you know, just those little things and just checking in. So the social media comments would get to you too? They don't get to me. No. They didn't bring you down? It's just a weird thing. Like, you find yourself, you know, the weird, the damn mind trick they got on you. You're just on there scrolling for two hours and went by for two hours. That's right. And it's like, what the hell? Yeah, what did I learn? I just did nothing. All I did was just watch some dumb... Some cute stuff. I ain't saying it's just all I ain't saying it's completely just It was for me what I had to do That's for me to be present Some people do what you do But I just knew I just had to Had to change something to have some change I had to cut some Everything man, everything's perspective Once I got there, once I started being A little bit more present Being around, yeah my spirituality Really kicked out But it's all her, though.
28:19You know, it really she's really elevated me this last two years. I've been, you know, very happy, you know what I'm saying? And very present. And I just think, you know, you know, we don't we're we're fourth quarter now, I think. You know, like you said, the opportunity we have now, what we're doing with our what she's doing. We've been we've been with WWE going on 16 now. Like I got signed at 23. I'll be 40 next month. And it's like, man, time just boom. Yeah, it just really went. And I remember, like, when I first debuted, I remember the first time I got in the ring with Roman. I remember the first time I got in the ring with the Hardy Boys and, you know, Road Dogg.

Oh. probably half to 80 % of the male population here on earth I suppose Jackie Jackie it was Trish she's killing it it gives us motivation to keep it going she inspires me yeah especially now Becky but see the women I always felt like I had this time crunch on me but now the women are showing and I really feel like if I wanted to stop and go have a baby we can do it like yeah they're doing it so gracefully yeah they're really amazing beautifully and it is hard it is it's not easy I see the lows but they get through it and they're they're better for it and they're inspiring so many women and I think that's it's just incredible because 16 years ago you didn't feel like you could do that.
31:13Right. That's for sure. I feel like it was a wrap. You have a baby, you're done. Yeah. Well, especially as a performer. Yeah. Right? I mean, society's changing. Yeah. You know, the world is changing. But you're right. You have to have those paving the way and showing that it's possible. But I hope you understand you are that too. Yes. I mean, you are beyond a shadow of a doubt setting that example. You are inspiring future generations right now. Thank you. You know, just by being you and having so much fun. And, of course, all your talent that you bring, but that you've always brought. Thank you.
31:53You know, and now it's just the moment. Yes. It is the time. Yes. She's arrived, right? She has arrived. Look out. It still feels like, wow. wow you know yeah because it has been such a long journey and road it seems like but um i wouldn't want it any other way yeah it makes it so special right now because when you go through the fire right and you come out the other side like you your perspective is different it's not like you just for whatever reason hit when you first started and and you miss those lessons yes you You know, you don't have the opportunity to become, you know, to evolve. I agree.
32:381 ,000%. I agree. Yeah, I always tell her, man, because we get in trouble. And we've always dealt with adversity, you know, outside of decisions made. We've all seen it. You can't run from any kind of – you can't run from nothing these days no more. No, no. Especially when, you know, us and everything's out there. Everything. Cameras are always on. Everything. Yeah. Everything. Everything's always on. But, you know, I always tell her, man, like through adversity, there is growth in there. You know, when it's down, there's up in there, you know. So anytime I'm in trouble now, like, and I think this is going through things like you just said, going through things and learning things.
33:17You know, I'm not easily rattled much. You understand? My patience is better. I've been praying for patience. Hell, it's crazy how it comes when you. When you need it. Yeah. Yeah. You know? Yeah. So I sit there eyes wide open now, you know, ears open. Mouth be open, too. I like to talk to you. But I know when to shut up, too. I just ain't yapping all the time. Yeah, sometimes, you know. But I always tell them, man, you know. What's the quote, man? I heard this dope quote, man. They said, when you're feeling like it's dark and you're feeling like you're buried, know you've just been planted. Oh, wow.
33:59Wow. That's beautiful. Yeah. Planted soul. That means you're about to grow, you know? Yeah. That means you're feeling like it's dark. You ain't dark. It's not dark around you, bro. You've just been planted. You're about to, growth is coming. That's beautiful. It was fire. So powerful. It stuck with me, resonated with me, helped me. Yeah. Helped me with my decision making, helped me, even the way I speak now, joking. I'm a big joker, but growing up I would joke jokingly. But now, you know, I even heard another quote from Bruce Lee. Don't even joke about yourself Because you don't even know the difference The energy is still like The words are strong Power of the tongue I heard it growing up Sticks and stones would break your bones Sticks and stones would break my bones But words would never hurt me Shit, I'm excuse me, sorry They do hurt They do, of course they do Words hurt You can't take words back You can't say something to somebody You can never take it back Don't ever forget how you made them feel That's real to me And I learned that later in the game.
34:59Later in the game. Was there someone that you said something to in particular that sticks with you that you remember? Yeah, of course. Of course. It's my own twin brother. Yeah. There's things that we've been through, man. And, like, that's my twin brother, you know. Yeah. I'm lucky I get to move through the world, like, with a whole other human being that's just like me. Yeah. Feels what I feel. Think the way I think. We'll finish each other's sentences. It's a real thing. When we apart or we arguing, the energy is low. It's down. Just like everybody else, you know. Yeah. We all feel it. When they're not rocking, it's bad for everybody.
35:40Yeah. It's just weird. It's just weird, and I hate it. So, you know, I just, even when you sit in your own rut, like, you know, you want to take things back, you know. But you can't. You can't. You know, either it's regret or discipline. you can live in you know i've i've been regretful plenty of times you know or discipline what was it it's either i wish i didn't go out i wish i didn't get in the car i wish i wasn't there by him that night or i'm glad i didn't go out i'm glad i wasn't in that car i'm glad because that's a little discipline man it's either regret or discipline and you're gonna learn you know it's interesting perspective yeah so that's my biggest thing man i just try to be a better person and Make good decisions.
36:27Yes. And decisions, like I tell my son, man, he's 19 now. And he's starting to, you know, second year. My oldest 19, too. Yeah, let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Tell him, man, listen, man, the decisions, I ain't going to be around you. You're going to make your own decisions. Just know the consequences, you can't pick them. Yeah. It's going to come at you. So be ready. Be ready, man. And, you know, I just got to dwell that in their heads because, you know, this generation a little off. They a little off. I think that's what they say about every generation. Yeah, we was off. But it's different. Yeah, we were off.
37:03Yeah. Especially growing up in our business. Yeah. Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah. We've always been off. Yeah. Yeah, kids, y 'all think y 'all off? We was off first. We was off first. We the OGs of off. All right? That's right. Yeah. So just because y 'all think y 'all doing it, y 'all ain't doing it. Y 'all ain't doing it. OGs of off. Yeah, we the OGs of off. Yeah, the OGs of off. That's us right here Okay I like it I do too I do too Yeah For real We know The best Keep them on point Check in with them Keep them lined up You know Yeah That's it man Yeah That's it Keep guiding them Yeah Because the world is crazy Yeah It's crazier It is Yeah It feels like with every day Every day Although it is a pretty incredible time to be alive I think it's a hell of a time Great time to be alive So much happening all around us that we don't know what's next, right?
37:59But you never know what's next. And that's what I love about being in the moment, right? What you're talking about. Oh, yeah. I also think it's a great time where wrestling is today. Oh, yeah. It's a great time to be a wrestling fan. Yeah, it is. Wrestling's cooking. We over here cooking. Killing it, you know? So I believe that today, too. I was just thinking, you know, just sitting there like, man, where we were when we started, You've seen it. Yeah. You've seen the whole thing turn, man. Yeah. You've been there. So I was just thinking today, what a moment to be a wrestling fan today. Jelly Roll was saying the same thing.
38:38And I saw him, he was doing the Kimmel, filling in for Kimmel, before he put Logan through that table, which is pretty impressive. But he was saying what a great time it is to be a wrestling fan. you know it's just if you're he said if you're ever gonna get into it now is the time to get into it you know i agree and it feels that way i agree yeah it's exciting i'm so happy we came in when we did though yeah yeah because i feel like we've we're kind of in this weird middle because we were there when like flair was on a tour with us once he was i was like it was still was it evolution was it no no this was like when we just came it was like an overseas like a Spain tour oh no no I mean the Randy Batista Rick oh no this was they were gone already okay Cena was still on the road Punk was still here okay so I feel like I caught like the end okay of that that yeah there was a fit family in the locker room yeah fit was still like in there Poker was still JBL was still like we was we still came in on that back end of that, you know, at the end of the real attitude era.
39:50Like, it was really getting out. All the divas. The top divas were still here. We were still divas. But I got to see, I got to get a taste of that. And then the whole diva era, and then now the NXT era, and now we're in this whole other era. That's right. And I've got to kind of experience a little bit of each one, and I'm so grateful for that. It's so interesting this time. right and this time in your life yeah and that's you're a part of this journey and that you can appreciate it now for what it is because when you first come in you don't really know right and you don't really know who's who or what's what you know what you watched you know you know you're a fan of but you don't know how it all operates and then it's like so much happens all at once and you're on the road and you're doing appearances and you're doing media and you're trying to go here and you're trying to do there and you guys are falling in love and you know it's like we're learning how to pay taxes we don't even know what that's like john you haven't paid taxes in two years oh what's that i don't even know what that is but that's true true you know and i think the business evolved too because there were you know real opportunities to then you know teach financial literacy and you know help prepare talent because when you're here for example in nxt and you're just you're young you're you're an athlete either you're a collegiate athlete or you're coming from another walk of life or whatever it is, and suddenly you're making some money.
41:16And, you know, what do I do? And how do I prepare for the future? How do I invest my money? Should I invest my money? You know, it's like all those lessons are so important. So important. Yeah, man. We watched our family. Like, we've learned from our family, too. Yeah. The decisions. And, like, ooh, yeah. Taxes was the thing. I heard taxes. when I was a young, very young kid. But they got away from me because, you know, they take the taxes out your check, you know, when you have a nine to five. And that was me my whole life prior to before WWE. Yeah. You know, and then, hell, I didn't even realize, like, we got to pay taxes, man.
41:58Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, what? How? In every state. You have to file in every state and in every country that you perform in, and that's not easy. Yeah, man. Nope, and it's like this thick. Yeah. Yeah. We was, you remember our first year we was filing taxes with the guy? We was doing his work. Me and her was in there for about three hours. We was, like, putting the address down on the, and I'm looking at Trent. She's, like, passing it. She's stamping it. What the hell are we doing? What the hell are we doing? We was trying to figure it out. Yeah, man. So, you know, we got to figure it out.
42:32Yeah. You know, it's an everyday fight now, though. That's great. Those are just all learning and growing together. Yeah. You know? And how do you know? You don't until it's time. Until you go through it. That's right. That's right. And then we just got to tell our little ones, our young ones, and, you know, our friends and families and everybody, you know, so just listen. What's one piece of advice that you wish your parents had given you that you make sure you give to your kids right now? Or the inverse of that, something that they told you that you think is so important that you pass it. You want to make sure you pass it on.
43:12I think I say this very much, though. Like, I think it's really, I say this for real, for real. Like, be you. Because in the world of today, man, with, you know, with social media and all these kids, man, like, it's a lot of followers, man. You know, there ain't no, like, leaders. Like, I watch kids. They're very motivated by what we do and what we say, you know, and how we move. So when I mean, like, be you, I mean, like, don't be afraid to very much be you. Speak how you speak, what you like dressing. Because, nah, man, my kids, they're in high school, and I watch them. You know, they're very into.
43:58What other people think of them. Yeah, what other people think of them. And that bothers me. You know what I'm saying? because they don't they don't they they're not even they haven't been through enough to even try to have that those tools to to understand like you know gee this kid don't like me or they said something about my shoes i really i i i try not to let my tell my kid because i'll go up to the damn school i feel like i'll run up i'll run up on you i will f that kid up yeah i know my daughter i will i will i'm telling you yeah no my daughter one of my daughters got bullied in middle school and I...
44:33See? Yeah, I gave some dirty looks to a young girl. I got goosebumps. I got something different out of you. You're slapping kids. Your baby's messing around. No, no. And then Paul's like, yeah, well, I'm going to find that kid's dad. We're just parents. We're one of the people. Teacher meeting, a teacher, a parent-teacher meeting. We're just going up there with an E-pad. We're ready. Yeah, hit our music. So what are you guys doing about it? We're the authority. Yeah. Play our music. Do you guys understand that? Hit our entrance music now. Now? Please. We're walking up in here. Yeah, man. We need our entrance museum.
45:06Yeah. Every superhero needs their own entrance museum. The hell what people think about you, kids. Like, you know, keep it going. Be you. You know, really be you. Because I was me growing up. My brothers was, we were, you know, we were good. Went to school. Went to practice. Did your chores. Really, like, really stayed to par. Right. Yeah, it sounds like kids, like, yeah, whatever. He was a loser growing up. No, I wasn't. No. No, I wasn't, man. Yeah. I carry those same traits growing up now. Yeah. Why don't you do your chores now? You know, it's like they get married and they forget. I was thinking the other day, Paul's mom said, you know, he knows how to make a bed, so don't let him tell you that he's different.
45:50Because our mother-in-law, I love her to death. Gracie, I love her to death. You know, she's like, Trent, Trent. Trent, you know. you got to make sure John get him a hot meal. Make sure John, did John eat? Make sure John ate. She'd be like, Mom, you know, we just got home together. We just got off the same flight together. But now you want me to cook. I also need a meal. My mom is very old school. She don't play that. I got it. But I get it. I listen, but sometimes I'm like, the day ain't the day, Mom. She in the yard. She be doing a little yard work. You know, it's good for your soul. Get out there and the sun is good for you.
46:30That's right. That's right. Get your hands up with dad. I'm trying to pay Bill. I'm trying to pay Bob. $50 come through. Hey, Mom, don't even worry about it. Don't even worry about it. We're going to get Bob to hook it up, man. We're going to get Bob to hook it up, man. I love you, man. And this heat, too. Yeah. Couldn't even walk outside. Oh, she hooked up. She ready for it, though. She got the gloves on, the knee pads. She got the hat on. Oh, yeah, everything. Ain't no sun getting at her. Mom don't play. She don't play. Netting? She don't. Yeah. She's always doing something. And she watches our dogs for us when we leave.
46:59Oh, that's amazing. Because we don't trust nobody with our dogs but Grace. But her. And mom, yo. Yeah. And she love them just like we love them. Yeah. So what kind of dogs? We got a Rottweiler. Her name is Marley. She's five. And we got a little Chihuahua. Her name's Tank. He five. Tank might be the best name for a Chihuahua. That is. That's the best name for a Chihuahua. What is it? 12-foot bed? Oversized bed? So our dogs can sleep with us. Oh wow The California king It's like It's like Basically like Two kings put together Oh wow Oh we did Yeah You talking about Washing them damn sheets All the damn time Taking that I'm sure It sucks Yeah It's so much work And our damn Our Marley man She like to sleep Cause we got She sleep on that side Two in the morning And she get She don't have She don't sleep I'll be waking up Marley I'll be like Yeah That's what they do Right They just stretch all that push you right out the bed.
47:55Meanwhile, Tank Snuggles, right off me. He'd love to sleep right between your legs, right in the warm block. He's a snuggler. He's my favorite though, man. I tore my ACL right when the pandemic started and that was the first time I ever got hurt. And the next day I knew I wanted to get my dogs. I always wanted one. We grew up with dogs. Yeah, that's what you said on the Bloodline episode. Yeah. You were telling me you didn't actually, yeah, I didn't like them. Oh, yeah. I forgot about that. It wasn't a great experience for you. And they were Rottweilers, too, right? But Morley, and she was a girl.
48:34She's a girl. I thought, you know, when I picked her, I loved her even more. Yeah. And then she has, like, little hip dysplasia. She runs like a little rabbit. Oh, man. Yeah. Takes overweight. We got to get him to lose some weight. Yeah, yeah. He's a tank. He's a little tank. He's supposed to be 8 pounds. He 13 pounds. 13 pounds. He look like a little pig. Like a little. Yeah. And we feeling bad, though, because she'll just be looking at him. Does he eat extra? I mean, like bacon? I mean, you know. Mom, I just feel like when the dogs eat, when I eat, they got to eat. That's right. And I feed them right from the table as I eat.
49:11She said a snack. I feel like, well, when I get a snack, they should get a snack. Yeah, yeah. I'm like. My mother-in-law straight up lied to me about feeding my dogs under the table and giving them extra treats. And I'm like, this dog is fat. Like, how did this dog get so fat? It's not for me. Every time we see the dogs. I don't give them anything. Like. I can see your hands moving. And I got so mad that she would lie. But what am I going to do? Yeah, what are you going to do? Get my mouth. She's the most loving, amazing. You know, she really is. I really did hit the mother-in-law jackpot. But she straight up lied to me about feeding my dogs.
49:51And those are my children. And she lied to me about giving candy to my children, too. And so I told my kids that when I become a grandmother, because they, you know, of course, Meme and Ga, like, that's their happy place. And I said, just so you guys know, when I'm a grandmother with your children, I'm going to spoil them just as bad as you guys are spoiled, and you can't say anything, and I'm calling it right now. That's awesome. So it's out, and it's here. Let it be known. Let it be known. Yes. Yes. We're working on getting it. Tank, he had surgery in his spine. It was like 2 in the morning.
50:29We thought somebody broke in the damn house and kicked Tank. Oh, no. He was crying. It was the biggest screech I heard. Jumped out the bed. Did something happen? So apparently these long-spine, short-legged dogs would get what's called HIVV or something. HIDD, herniated disc that these certain breeds get. out of nowhere just like had a hernia like he couldn't even move he was just yeah I literally thought somebody got in the house and like John Wick that's awful it was terrible yeah took him right in to the ER I took him to two doctors and then finally we found like an actual we had to find a neurosurgeon for Tank yeah we did isn't it amazing how they have all these specialists for the dogs I mean I find it it's all hell too it is it's a huge Huge business.
51:19Y 'all gotta lower them down. Huge business. Man. Oh, yeah. We found them, though. Yeah, he's good now, man. We saved her. Thank God. I know. I was off. Next surgery. They're your babies. They're your fur babies. They are. I could not. I sometimes feel guilty. I'll tell a trip, like, hey, man. Sometimes I think I might love my little dog. I always want him. You better not say that. I didn't know where he was. I love my four-legged children more than my two-legged children, if you know what I'm saying. They do be saying it. You care about them dogs more than us. Well, because they listen. At least they listen.
51:56At least they listen. They listen. Do they listen? They listen to me, man. My dog listens. Tank is a, he don't listen to no damn body. No, see? You got to get food. But Marley? She listens. Yes. Marley's a sweet one. We messed up because we knew Marley, the type of breed she was. we knew she was going to be a big dog. So we put all the energy and the training and everything in the herd. Yeah. First they lied, too. They said Tate was supposed to be a teacup. He is not no teacup. He a whole mug. He a regular-sized chihuahua. He's a kid. He's a kid. He's a kid. Trini, when we first got Tate, when we was in the store getting all the little stuff right off the bat, there's this lady, she had a chihuahua.
52:38And then she walked by and then Trini told me, He looked like that big chihuahua. She told me, that's horrible. That damn Chihuahua. That Chihuahua was out of shape and all. He looked so bad. Bury the hell out of this lady Chihuahua. Bury the hell out of this lady Chihuahua. You did. Why are you looking at me? Bury the hell out of this lady Chihuahua. And then I said, look at that Chihuahua now. Look just like Chihuahua. That's what you get. That's what you get over there. You try to bury that. It's called karma. Came back at our dog. And now we got the same damn dog that you was over there. That you were hating on.
53:08Yeah, I was like, oh, he's a little. I'll be able to travel with him on the road. He'll be with me in the hotel. man we got them at a time too that we really needed them we had we got our dogs at a time they they saved us too yeah i feel like they also helped our relationship too yeah they saved this man like they really did we got them we we was in a time in our life like i'm home first time my career like my brother's there like the world shut down right the world shut down literally Yeah, such a crazy time. He was hurt. He had a, blew his knee out. At the WrestleMania that. Yeah. The PC. Yeah, the first one.
53:45Okay. Yeah, at the PC. So early, right in the beginning. Early, yeah. But I was still traveling and working by myself. And it was that weird time where nobody was flying. Right. We were driving to Orlando Temple, right? And I was in Pensacola. Yeah. So I was driving back and forth every week, seven hours by myself. Oh. Because I didn't want to fly. Like, in the beginning, we didn't know what was going on. Nobody did. Everybody thought they were going to die. I saw the sneeze. It was funny because the world changed. You usually sneeze and people are like, oh, bless you. Now you sneeze and they'll be like, get the hell on, bro.
54:20Ain't nobody. I saw the funniest meme video and it was like a bus stop and everybody's just, you know, standing there and all of a sudden somebody started sneezing and like, yeah, one person had an umbrella and another person had a shit. Another person brought out a gun and killed him. And everybody's like, yeah. Well, you positive? You positive I'm going to shoot your ass? You positive? For real. So, yeah. So we got our dogs at that time, man. And we was just, everybody was transitioning, I feel. People were dying. Our loved ones was getting sick. Yeah. The world was crazy, man. It was crazy.
54:55And, yeah, we got them just at that time, man. I really believe, like, when we look at Tank and Marley, I feel like, you know, they're looking back at you. Yeah. they're looking back at you oh they're the best i love dogs and yeah every every hour when i had this i'm complete opposite tank trend wouldn't even let tank come out the house he a dog he goes back from outside right the grass is too cold it looks wet for him
55:23i regret it to this day to this day because guess what because now what tank do tank go to his pad though but trend trend she's tired of picking up yeah he does he's training on his little peepee I ain't picking it up because I was out there with Marley taking her out there every hour on the hour and I was happy to do it with Tank too but you wouldn't let me I would have did it but he was so literally like he could fit he was so small so he would be like shaking you know he'd be all wet and he was skinny and he was scared man go use the bathroom outside I don't want to put him I'll just train him in the house it's not that big of a poos Now, five years later, she's like, damn, Tank.
56:06Still. Damn. I just picked up. And you're like, oh, you did it to yourself. I'm like, I told you. I'm not about to, I told you. You had to take the rugs up in the house because certain like new rugs and stuff, he'll mark them. Oh, because he doesn't realize. I don't know if he thinks it's a pad or if he just does some turks. Tank is a whole situation. She'll be like, damn, Tank, I just bought these bathroom rugs. These new bathroom rugs. He's like, yeah, I like them. I had to start getting light rugs because our colors are kind of dark. Right. But I couldn't tell when the rugs are dark that he was peeing on the rugs.
56:42And by the time I smell it, it's too late. I'd have been stepping on. And you didn't catch it in the moment. No. So now I have to get white rugs or stuff so I know if he got us or not. She's talking about I got to go to the store, get some pee pads. I got to get some. I was like, you sound like a little baby. Like we need diapers every week for this damn dog. Yeah. They are babies though. They are. They are. They are, man. I don't care. Somebody told me dogs are kids that never grow up. Mm-hmm. Oh, that's true. And I think that's so true, right? Yeah. Like, they're just the best. I find myself.
57:11They're so smart, too. They're way smarter than you. I love to hear. Dog videos are my number one favorite. Oh, yeah, that's the cute stuff. You send dog videos to each other? That's how I know I'm changing, too. I'll be over here like, Tred. I'm going to send you. Look at this real quick. I'm going to send this to you. Dog videos. And rescue, like, dogs that have been rescued, and now they're doing well. and they're up for adoption, watching their journey. They'd be mad at the people that do that. Do you cry? Do you cry? I cry. Sometimes, yeah. Full out tears streaming down watching some of those.
57:41Some of their stories are awful what's happened to these dogs. I know. You know, and just, there's a lot of animal cruelty, unfortunately. But then you have the people who do save them. Yeah. You know, or then the unlikely friendships. Yeah. You see, like, the goat and the cat or whatever it is. A little bit. And they're, like, best friends. And it's just so funny. They had in the San Diego Zoo a dog that grew up with, I think it was like the cheetah. So they were like pups and the dog, so they like think they're the same. Oh, I've seen the Black Panther. Is it a panther? I'm looking at you guys.
58:11I don't know. It was the coolest thing ever because then these guys were playing around as puppies. Wow. And then you see them walking in the zoo. That's so cool. I feel like you want to add one more to the fam here. Oh. Man, I would like to get a rescue dog. That's my name If we do get a dog It would be a rescue dog Probably Yeah Yeah Definitely Definitely Cheetah I saw one with a Black Panther So Right Y 'all seen that bald raccoon They didn't know what it was No It was a bald Yeah they was looking at that damn picture They was like What the hell is this Everybody And it was just a raccoon That had a Hair Hair problems Yeah And he was just a bald Because they saw other raccoons They was like That's a bald raccoon That's crazy I've never seen a bald raccoon It was the weirdest looking thing.
59:00I bet. I'd probably like him. Very creature-y. Right? Because raccoons use their hands. It was wrinkly as hell. Yeah, very wrinkly. It looked like a big-ass brain. Like a big-ass brain. Yeah. Have you seen the careless cats? Like similar? That's what it looked like. Like a sphinx cat. But their scapegoat may look crazy. Him and the kids were like, absolutely not. The cat? The bald cat. Come on. The sphinx? Yeah, how do you pet the bald cat? I mean. You don't pet him. And then what's the point? Because they, I thought they, I thought they need like extra love and like blankets. Extra love? Yeah, like blankets.
59:35I know you have to keep, Jackie would know more about this. Because she wanted one too. Don't go to the bathroom outside. Jackie. What they don't. Oily. Mmm. Gross. I don't know. No, we're straight. We good. We good with our dog. We good with our, what's a cat going to do? I gotta say, that doesn't sound great to me either. An oily cat. Oily cat. An oily cat. That wouldn't bother me. And he leaves. Well, oil never hurt nobody. Thoughts everywhere. I'm good, y 'all. I'm good. I appreciate it. I'm good. At least get one of, like, Natty's cats. Them some cool. I like them cats. Natty has pretty cats.
1:00:08Are cats Persian cats? Them cats look cool. But every time we've been around them, they're like, cool. The cats I've seen, the cat you had when we first started? Oh. Oh, yeah. Jumped off my face when I first, first time I came over. No. Fell asleep on the bed, and that cat. That cat jumped off my face. Her name was Dixie. Oh. And right before I came to FCW, I found, rescued a cat. She had been under there like a few days. We were waiting to see if, at my grandma's house, was waiting to see if the mom would come back. The mom never came back. So when I left for Tampa, I took her with me. So just me and her went to Tampa, me and Dixie.
1:00:45And so I had this stray cat that was with me. And then I met John. So now Dixie is used to me and her being together. It just solidified what I thought about. She was a wild cat. She was a wild cat. I walked in. The first time, she was like, yeah, come on. I walked in. I was like, yeah, you got cats here. Yeah. And I'm telling you, I'm going to put my shoe. Yep. Yep. But when I fell asleep and that cat, it jumped off my face. I said, I'm leaving. I'm not staying here anymore. I'll never stay here again. I'll see you later. Not even that. I might want to lose my number.
1:01:24I am not a cat person. I grew up with cats. My mom worked so much. So, you know, dogs were too much of a responsibility, but cats were a little more easier. They could kind of take care of themselves. So we could always have cats. In our one cat, Patches, we never got her fixed. So she would just have litters of babies. Oh, wow. She had like three litters. You'd keep all the cats? She was on the street. She was on the street. They got a certain age. And then, yeah, we took care of them. So I grew up with cats. A lot of them. Me and my mom love cats. Did you smell like it? No. Were you one of the girls in elementary school that probably smelled like cats?
1:02:02Don't do me. Don't, don't, don't. Absolutely not. We took very good care of our cats in our home. I probably told you. Your mom going to get you. Huh? Your mom going to get you. See, cats know when you don't like them. Yeah. See? And they mess with you. See? This is what happens to me. and when I was in second grade my best friend was a cat lover and I would wake up if I spent the night with the cat on my face or on my pillow somewhere around me every time when I was in college my roommate had a cat and we couldn't shut our bathroom door all the way so this cat would come in and perch on the sink next to the shower and I would I swear I would shower like He would like perch Like it was ready to jump onto me While I was taking a shower And it was just messing with me the whole time Just wanted me to think that It just wanted to weird me out And then my husband's sister Had a cat that was like The oldest cat ever Like 25, very very old cat And it would never come out of her closet Like nobody would even know She had this cat Until I came over and this cat would come and sit behind me on the sofa and they couldn't believe that the cat would do it and the cat was just messing with me the whole time and I was bit by a cat when I was like three at Mrs.
1:03:25Snowden's house I'm just saying I don't have a cat and I have a thing I'm not a cat person I'm with you you guys are really not missing out we had guinea pigs I had a pig No, no, I didn't growing up, but my daughter had guinea pigs. We had guinea pigs. They pig. Well, in Peru, they're a delicacy. Well, our grandparents. Pigs? Guinea pigs. No, guinea pigs. Oh. In certain South American countries, but I know Peru. Yeah, they're a delicacy. Oh. They're guinea pigs. They're, you know, they look, they're. Like on Maui, the little, the little, the little pig. No, no, that's a real pig. That's what I call tank.
1:04:10Guinea pigs are kind of like giant gerbils. Oh, it's like Liv Morgan's pig. No, she had a real pig. She had a pig pig. She had a big pig. No. Right? Or no, no. We just got it all over. We're all confused. Somebody had a pig. Alexa had the pig. Okay. Larry? Wasn't his name Larry? Okay. Steve? No. Oh, man. I'm just throwing out names. Oh, Larry, Steve. Both. See, we're both right. Yeah, that's a guinea pig. Oh, that's a guinea pig. Yeah. And they're supposed to be so cute. And so our daughter did, like, she was trying to get this guinea pig for the longest time. And then all of a sudden she busts out, like, 12 pages of research on the guinea pigs.
1:04:52And really knew her stuff. And we were like, well, I guess we'll go ahead and get you a guinea pig. Then we go to the pet store. And they tell us, well, they're way better in pairs. You know? And you don't want to get just one. So we wind up with two. and everyone's thinking that yeah there's male and a female but no it was two females but on on the on the way back our daughter tells us um guys i have something to tell you we're like what she said well i went on youtube and i looked up a video on how to get your parents to buy you a guinea pig and it told me to do all the the research and to show it to you guys and to do Like every step she talked us through and Paul and I just laughed and we were like, oh my God.
1:05:38Well, congratulations. It worked. She did something. I like her style. But two, but she had to, she was carrying all the guilt, right? She had to come clean with it, but not until after she had those two guinea pigs. Not until the mission was accomplished. And then God bless one of the guinea pigs got like cancer and it's like we amputated this leg. we were then caring for and by we I mean me and I had to give this guinea pig little bits of medicine like every four hours I had to give tiny little medicine to this guinea pig and the guinea pig started to actually make it then got an infection then we got a tiny little cone so the guinea pig couldn't eat at its leg and then this guinea pig finally makes it and it kicks out like finally survives and then starts limping on the other leg.
1:06:35And we're like, what are you going to do? You could have got the little wheelchairs. Yeah, no. It was cancer spreading. You could get all kind of little wheelchairs for your little... The most expensive guinea pig ever. Willow? Do you know... There was Mousy and Willow. Mousy and Willow. Did you connect with Mousy? Not until, once I started caring. Yeah, when you started, like, oh, come on. Yeah, I was like, come on, you can do it. And then, this is the worst story. So now I have to go and take this little guinea pig to get put down. And this guinea pig was like a fighter. They gave it all kinds of shots of medicine, and it wouldn't die, and it wouldn't die.
1:07:19And I had asked my daughter, like, do you want me to do this? Do you want to be? They were like, I tried to make it all, you know, her decision and everything. She decided it was fine for me to do it, which I was happy about because I didn't want her to have to deal with that. But this guinea pig would not die. Finally, they had to take this teeny tiny little gas mask. And it was the tiniest little thing. And finally, this little guinea pig finally gave up. And I cried my eyes. I was bawling in the fight. It was such a fighter. I love Malcy. And then I'm laughing at myself like, you hated this guinea pig.
1:07:56Like, how could you possibly be so upset that this guinea pig is dead? But I was. I would have been like, man, he ain't trying to go. No, I said fighter. That's what I mean. Maybe we should off Willow. Maybe we should. Maybe. If Willow could be like, hey, bro, don't do it. I'm trying to tell y 'all. Don't. I'm showing you. I'm going to do it. Yeah. No. No. Hold what it, man. I don't think I could have went through it. Hey, man, shout out to Willow, man. I'm telling you. Damn, man. Yeah. Willow and Mousy, man. Yeah, we got you. Willow and Mousy. Could have been a rat. Hell, we had rats growing up.
1:08:32Here's your pet. We grow up with, man. Big rats? Big, big. Like sewer rats. Y 'all think New York rats is big. Yeah, that's what I mean. We had big Florida rats, man. Yeah, Florida. I really grew up with rats. So when my friends would come over, man, like when I first saw that, when I had my high school girlfriend. Right. When I first saw that, she came over. I love it. We can never go in the house. You can only be in the front. and we had a little front porch where we could sit under. Right, right. You're not allowed to come in the house. Nobody's allowed to come in the house. No, no. Hell no.
1:08:59Mom would ain't play that. You got to explain. You can't just be like, we had rats. Well, I mean, it's just not like in the kitchen. Well, hell. Every now and then. It was an older home. In the house, they come with rats. Yeah, it was an older home. You know, when we first. The rats were there first. They were there first. I mean, we will. Yeah. They were there first. We had mice. We had, yeah. See? But not rats. I thought we had, I seen mice. Yeah. But rats are much bigger. Longer tail. Like a bunch of splinters running around there. Oh, no. Remember? I'll never forget. Got it. Yeah, just people would just come over and just.
1:09:35Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Oh, okay. Stick with me. Missed me. Very, very scary, man. Very, very appreciative, though. You know, Trenton's a damn. But so what happened with the girlfriend? So she's on the porch with you? Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, that's the first time, like, we've got clowned on. Like, they took it to school. Like, yeah. Man, you don't want to go over to They got them big ass rats They got big ass rats What you doing? My daddy gotta be on TV tomorrow What you doing? But it was love, man It was really love Those things were damn big as hell We grew up with What's your biggest lesson growing up with rats?
1:10:18I'm not I'll tell you this much my first night wow this is crazy I remember this my first night sleeping in our home I was probably like 8 when we got to Pensacola Florida maybe younger but I remember choosing our room yeah this is my room I remember finally falling asleep I slept on the ground made a pallet on the floor and I'll never forget I was laying on my side and I felt the rat on my arm like I could feel it's like clogged like it's just like on my arm and i literally just went like this like i was asleep i remember just going like and i'm thinking like damn i just there's a rat i'm sleeping right by a rat it's not even like phasing you yeah sorry man i'm your roommate my name's john yeah man and then we bombed the home we bombed the home though right we bombed it and they were all they were done after that they were done and then no more rats after that none because we were forced to go in the attic when i looked up in the attic like i looked up it was a mound really dead rats fucking like a horror oh they had a nest i mean yeah rats rats have yeah rats nest right just got there i remember forget we nest for something whoa like what is that my aunt elisa came over my my um but they carry a lot of disease oh yes yeah that's the scratching is not necessarily good.
1:11:42It's probably, you know. It explains a lot. Yeah. I don't know how we started talking about these rats. I mean, on this episode of Animal Planet. Yeah, well, yeah. We've been on this whole. It just took a weird turn. Yeah, it kind of went there. You're on top. Let's talk about rats. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't have rats, but I did have a pet hedgehog. Oh. Could you pet the hedgehog? It was fancy over here. And I took her to school. I had dogs. I said Miss Fancy over here with the hedgehog. Fancy. You had a pig, too. No. My grandparents had a pig, and they told us it was our pet Wilbur, and we would play with it every day after school.
1:12:23We would feed it. I know where this is going. Yep. Came home from Dave. Child, we came home one day.
1:12:33Wilbur was, my granddad was like, because my granddad, We grew up in the country, in Sanford. Was it a pig roast? He was cutting it up to make cracklings. They had bacon. You know, cut it up, go fry it in this big, deep fry. But yeah, nobody told us. We were kids. We really thought it was our pet pig. So we came home and we was like, where's Wilbur? Wilbur? Well, nobody would tell us. And then we'd kind of do this. Bacon's delicious. We got this piece of paper. He's so good. Traumatized us. We were so upset. We were so mad. That's mean that they didn't tell you it was going to happen. I don't even think they thought about.
1:13:21Ain't nobody caring about Wilbur. What we feel like. The worst part is they have you feeding them. I'm sure. We've been raising this pig for this purple. We didn't know. I remember that. and sent him out to the neighborhood. Come on over, get some good-ass cracklings. You got some good-ass cracklings for the neighborhood. Everybody eat Wilbur. God bless Wilbur. He good for about a week. Poor Wilbur. Everybody ate breakfast good for about a week. Damn. But Wilbur lived a great life until that moment, right? He had a wonderful life. I mean when I say cook like I ain't cooking by the book like I ain't making chicken cordon bleu or nothing like that you know but I hook up some chicken some baked chicken, red beans, rice cabbage he cooks healthy meals I like cooking I like grilling I like how he does his mahi I like how you do our halibut we eat a lot of fish salmon i love salmon magic salmon seasoning i know what you mean you gotta ask yeah she on the she on looking at seasoning cabinet all she knows is something pebble i'm not big on seasoning either but i do like that magic magic salmon seasoning oh yeah over pescatarian for a while oh really yeah five years oh that's a couple years and then and the kid like the kids you cook separate for them yeah were they pescatarian too no the kids i remember i remember like went too healthy and then she was like let him eat a damn cheeseburger i was like yeah they're kids did you go pescetarian too i did yeah but we're we're not now but i think we're gonna go back tapped into like more because yeah like we needed more like i thought like like we got my iron was low my energy was all right so i thought it was from the lack of meat you know in my diet right well Well, sometimes you have to be careful the mercury in the fish.
1:16:44And that, too. Yeah. Because I was eating a lot of fish at one point, and my mercury was through the roof. It was high. Yeah. And that's apparently very unhealthy. Yeah, it is. So, yeah. Sometimes I went back, but I feel like it's not that. It's some other. Like, I didn't feel a difference now that I'm back eating meat, meat. So, yeah. I want to figure that out. But, yeah, I'm still trying to. It must be hard on the road being pescatarian. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, there was nothing on there. Because, you know, when you get out the show late, there ain't nothing there. It's just like McDonald's.
1:17:13But I liked it because it stopped us from eating fast food. So, like, I would take, like, my little tuna packs or, like. Yeah. It would force us to be creative. Or smoked salmon. Did you do that? Yeah. Yeah, because that's good. Smoked salmon is so good. I'm going to go get something after this. I love that. Sushi. Sushi, dog. After this? Oh, yeah. For sure. Some sushi. Pet my dogs. She can bake, though. I mean, she'll do, like, the desserts because she's a sweet mouth. Yeah, that's me too. I'm not really a dessert guy. Sweet mouth. Yeah, she can try a guy that's sweet. Same thing. Sweet mouth.
1:17:45The whole mouth is sweet. Ain't no tooth. The whole mouth. Every single tooth. Every bit of it. This girl will roll over and tell me, good morning, but excuse me, let me get those sour patches right now. No. For real, for real. We only did that like one time. I used to be like, Trinity, you better stop it. And he'll never forget. Trinity, you better stop doing that, girl. You're getting older now. I know. You're getting older now. I done reeled it way back. Yeah, she a lot better. You can't do that as you get older. No, I know. It catches up with you. Trust me, I know. It catches up. I got eight, ten years on you.
1:18:19Trust me. I understand these things. Yes, yes. I'm definitely more into, though, my health and what I'm eating now at this point in my life than I've ever been my whole life. That's good. Yeah. I like it. Yeah. It's scary to go get checked now. I hate going to the doctors, man. I know. Jake going in there. But you go. I feel like Tank. Tank get around the vet. He just shaking. Just right off the bat. He don't even know where we going yet. I'm like, he know. He got to know. They do know. They know. They know. And then when he used to go to get washed up, the soggy dog's place, we felt like they dropped.
1:18:57Tank goes in there now. He used to be okay. But now when he go in there, he's like shaky, shaky. I say, man, what y 'all do to my dog, man? Right. What the hell y 'all do to my dog, man? Something wasn't right. Yeah, because he wasn't scared when he came in. Now he, now he, now he. I don't know. He don't like his hands touch or anything. Maybe he just don't like his. That's what I think, man. They do that. Leave my dog. Yeah, sure. Don't you do, man. My dog's too big for the cage. I could be overthinking. They can't put my dog in the cage. You have to groom him and bathe him and stuff? Oh, yeah.
1:19:27You do it all? I don't do the toenails because I'm too afraid I'm going to hurt him. Yeah. So the vet will do those usually. But, yeah, I wash them and everything. we have like a walk in shower that's a lot of work though I am fully sweating when I am done washing these dogs I love washing Marley I'm sure and then two of them and they always want to be together you have to keep them together I just pictured you walking through the car wash that would be easier it would no they're big dogs I do want a really really big dog though next one. Either that or two little girl chihuahuas. I don't know why.
1:20:11Two little girl chihuahuas? Two little ones? Chihuahuas? Girls? Emails? Two of them. What are they? How many? This is the person who never wanted a chihuahua. You want how many? Two. Two? And this is after? After Tank and Marley, and it's going to be a little bit, because I don't know how I'm going to be. So I don't want to, but when they do have it. Well, the thing too, if Tanky lives as long as he's supposed to, they can live up to like 15 years. Oh. Tanky can. We only have eight to 10 with Marley. So, I know, I hate to even talk about it. Yeah, don't. Let's not do that. Go talk and talk to snakes.
1:20:42Yes, guys. We don't need to do that. I wish they could live like turtles, man. It'd be like 125 years or something. Damn. But there would be a point. Do you ever have a turtle? Did your uncle have a turtle? Yes. See, I knew it. They had a tortoise. So you had a reptile farm, sounds like. And how did the reptiles not eat the cats? we didn't have well the the turtles were at grandma granddad's house oh okay alright and granddad used to like catch them on the side of the road and take them back oh nursing back to life no no no turtle soup what you mean nursing back to life they ain't nursing nothing girl that was Publix that was Whole Foods but this was also like back in like it'll get no organic than that yeah Yeah, Granddad was like...
1:21:33Did you ever eat at Granddad's house? Me? No, Granddad passed away in like 2 ,000. He was a lot older than my grandma. Okay. Yeah, but very, very country, very... And she did not continue with the... No. No. Once Granddad passed, that was it. That was it. But Granddad also, we grew up in a huge family. He had 22 kids. Wow. 22? Man. That's a lot. Every time. Yeah, it was crazy. Wait. 22 kids? Mm-hmm. With one? No. No. No. Okay. I was going to say. I don't think that's possible, is it? I was going to say, you're poor. But from my grandma, who? 22 kids. She had eight, though. She had eight. That's a lot.
1:22:22Is that humanly possible? Somebody look it up. I mean, yeah. Oh, that whole family that has all the kids. John and Kate plus eight? No, no, but there's like a Mormon family that has a bunch of kids. And now like the, I don't know, there's a whole scandal involved in it. But they had like 20 kids, I think. She did come from a big family. That's when I first got to meet her family. And they were, there was like 30, remember they were like 30 deep. And I remember pulling up. I remember saying like, this your family? And they were all reminding me of the old school. I was like, wow. very still family oriented which is why like we rock too and I just remember thinking like man you are very lucky man this is dope it really is because it made me think about us growing up them big ass barbecues you know and when I saw that I was like wow and that's one thing I mean other than getting clowned on by all like the teenagers man when you're always losing in your matches Randy Orton always beating you up listen I just started man you know how I'm just trying to find my way here man I know cousins was worse than him so bad.
1:23:29Get your cousin. I will mess. How old are you, bruh? 14. I will F you up right here, bruh. Get your cousin. Yeah, but there were how many of them? D. Yeah. Hey, but they see me now. I'm like, yeah. Because Mike's 25 now. Yeah, Mike grew up. Mike got his own bills now. Mike get it now. But I see Mike. I'm like, yeah, Mike. Oh, he gave me my respect. No, you got it, Joel. You got it. I said, all right, because, well, I thought we was going to have B forever. Forever. She'll be like, you know, he's just 15 years old. It doesn't matter. Get your cousin in. But it's all love, though. I love it. That's amazing, though.
1:24:05Very, very country. You guys all still very tight? Not as tight as it was when we were growing up. A lot of people, a lot of our family, a lot of tragedies in our family. Our family members pass away, move away. But, yeah, the ones that are still around. yeah and i don't know if we can cut this if you're not comfortable talking about it but i know your dad went through a very scary time fairly recently yes do you want to talk about that at all in terms yeah he's good now so yeah yeah so so it's okay that's a blessing i thank you so much in that for that situation and I remember um just even like for for me to have to call anybody yeah that I that I work with um it I don't like to yeah but let alone you and that's just how serious it was and how afraid I was yeah with the the heart scare that he had and I remember like talking to John about it and like what do you think I should do I remember I know I don't know like I remember I I know they, I remember going through his situation, and I just remember thinking like, man, maybe we should, we need help.
1:25:25Maybe we should ask. Yeah. Yeah. You know, give you guys a break. Yeah, we was happy to. I'm grateful I could help at all, you know. Because that was the information we needed, and we got in contact with Dr. Donahue. Dr. Donahue, and he was just amazing. He's amazing. Yeah. And got dad, dad's back on track. Yeah, dad, he's in that baby. He's in that baby. downhill. He's good. We're on top of it. He's taking better care of himself. I'm on top of him about it. Me and my dad are very close. I don't know what I would do if something was to happen to him, especially if I felt like I could have done something to help and prove it.
1:26:09But you did. Is he still performing? Hell yeah. He still do his thing. He's young, man. He's young, man. Y 'all need to call me Sebastian, Florida, man. Come down. I'm out here doing it, man. You need to let me come out there and do your interest with you, man. He is a performer. Oh, yeah. He is young. I have seen footage of him. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. He's amazing. Y 'all need to let me come up in there and let me get a crack at the wise man. I'm like, man, stop trying to write yourself in. Big fan, though. No, I'll be sitting in the audience and then this can happen and I'll just jump the rail.
1:26:45He loves it though. He follows it all. He loves it. He's so supportive of everybody. So what does he say about you now, right now? Oh man, he loves it. You should see these two by each other. I'll sit and watch them. They will be just cracking up alone. They're like best friends. I'll be sitting there looking like, how y 'all just laughing like that? That's great. Yeah. Oh, that's awesome. Good for you. I love it, yeah, man. Yeah. He motivates me to have a cool relationship. It was, yeah. I really felt like we were in danger of losing him. Yeah. That would suck. I remember thinking, like, please don't.
1:27:19Like, nothing. They can't take a hit now. Not this kind of hit. Yeah. Because we already bouncing back. Everybody's going through things, right? Sure. You never know what somebody's going through. Yes. So we got to be keen on that when we're moving through the world, you know? Yeah. And I just remember thinking, like, please, please, we can't. Please, not now. Not this one. Yeah. and thank god he's he's doing better he's doing better he got it you know lost some weight looking good feeling good so there it is and that's how that's all we can hope for and yep so thank you again no no no that's i just he motivates me to have a relationship how their relationship is with with his with trend his daughter i i i look and i'm like man that's fire that's deep to me you know because that's a relationship because she didn't grow up around him much you know right So to have this now, to me, is really cool.
1:28:11It's such a bit as a blessing. We would go with Dad on the summers. Sure, sure. Because he lived in South Florida, and our home and everything was in Central Florida. So, yeah, the time was shared. Right. But we didn't grow up in the home. Sure, sure, sure. But, yeah, we've always had a very close bond and connection. and I think that's where I get my entertainment spirit from that part of me. Do you remember watching him when you were a kid? Oh yeah. Were you just right up there dancing? I was. That's great. So awesome. That side of the family, they're all musicians and singers and my uncle, his brother George McRae had a huge hit hit number one in the 70s.
1:29:00Wow. Still going now. Still going, still performs, does oldie shows. Oh, that's amazing. Oh, that's amazing. Yeah. So we got singers on both sides of our family. Can you sing? I can do a little song. I know you can dance. Go ahead and go. Go ahead and go. I know. Hit that Whitney. I can, but. Hit that Whitney note. No, I can, but I'm not confident in my singing as I am with dancing and wrestling. But I want to dive into it. Get back into it. Something to explore. I want to perform with dad before it's all said and done. Like us do something together. Just because it would just be fun. It's meant to be.
1:29:42Yeah. Yeah. I wish I learned how to sing. I got it. He didn't want me to sing. Because I. No. I probably wouldn't have been bumping if I could sing. Yeah. Less on the body. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? I'm like in golf now. I'm always in the golf. Oh, good for you. I don't know where that came from. Huh. I have no idea. No, he really is. He brought all these golf. Yeah. Then I seen Miz. Thanks. Because Miz got his little. Oh, yeah. I said, yo, Miz, dog, I don't know. You into golf? He's like, I just, I did it at 14, but I'm getting back in it. So are you guys going together now?
1:30:15No, but I'll tell you. Waking up early? I mean, I'll go to like a little drive shack. I ain't that good to go on a golf course because I ain't trying to slow everybody down. I ain't trying to be that guy. Well, you got to learn somehow, right? True, true. But, you know, I got to get a few reps in before I go out there. I'm out there and put my whole fit on, you know. Oh, you do because it's all about the look. You got to. You got to have the lingual, the dress code. Is there a hat involved? Hell yeah. I'm sure all golfers got hats, right? I think so. What's that thing you brought that you done put in the middle of the living room?
1:30:48Uh-oh. That catch, you hit it and it sticks to the, you know. Practicing? Yeah. Practicing his butt? Yeah. It's in the middle of the living room. Well, he's serious about his golf game. I let him be, but I'm like, I'm wondering how long this is going to last. Yeah, probably done because I found myself like looking at that. Have you done Wii Golf? Because Wii Golf is fun. Wii Golf is fun. Yeah. Wii Golf is fun. Like, you'll love Wii Golf. Yeah. We've been talking about getting a Wii for the longest. Get the Wii. And, you know, there's all kinds of dance challenges because that's what my kids love the most.
1:31:18But it's a great workout, those dance challenges. She's going to be breaking the dance records. Yeah. The hell? Right? Seems unfair for you. It's unfair. We can't do that. We're trying to connect on a game thing. I play games. He's a big game. Sit down and embrace this side with me, too. Connect with me here. You can bowl. We bowl. Yeah, I just think I'm playing the game that I like. Because he wants me to sit and watch him play Modern Warfare. I don't want to play that one. Well, sit and watch, right? Guys, it's great. Listen, there's another controller. They got girl characters on there. You know how to aim and shoot.
1:31:54Is this a big game, popular game, Modern Warfare? How many of you? Rhea Ripley's in there. Oh, it's Call of Duty? That's the type of the game? I think that's why I hear people screaming from my basement sometimes. Grand Theft Auto? I've heard Grand Theft Auto is really fun. What is it called? Sleeves? What's Rhea on there? Oh, she's a skin on the game. Cody's on there. Rhea's on there. Ray Ray's on there. And I paid money. Yeah, I bought that. I bought y 'all's bundle. Shout out You're representing Come on now I do First time I've ever spent Yeah Which of them are you? Ray Ray Of course Yeah But I still bought Rhea and Cody Can you get multiple masks?
1:32:42Nah It's just those To have a skin to come on No no I know Trust me Roman's a big one too He's a big gamer too Big Call of Duty gamer Okay But you know he's like Yo what's up with the Bloodlight could definitely be on there right? Yeah Maybe I should hit up Activision or something I don't know why I'm sounding like this When I talk about my cousin Because that's how he sounds Yeah that's how he sounds when you're singing No I got it
1:33:12I love him man But I do love they have that outlet They be on that game 3, 4 in the morning sometimes But are you like talking to each other? Oh we locked in We are locked in That's what he's talking to you. We're locked in. But I got to wait. I got to see what she's doing before I just go jump on the games. Right. You got to make sure. Yeah. If you clean it, if you clean it, she's mopping it. Dishes done, trash is thrown out. Yeah. I can't just. You got to test the stove first. See, you know. You change tanks, wee-wee pads. Make sure she ate. Let's make sure she ate. Yeah. You do good. You hungry?
1:33:53No. That's like my apology. You going to bed? Yeah? You tired? Sometimes he's like, I'm not tired. I'm going to be over here. Or I'll just cook something and just give it to her. Like in the bed. Yeah, if I'm a snacker, I'll cook something at 3 in the morning. But that's your trick? So you can go play Call of Duty? I'll cook a whole course meal at 4 in the morning on you. Just feed it to her? Yeah. So she's distracted? You want to eat something? I'm not even hungry. What you got here? I do know when he be wanting to play, though, because everything will be taken care of without me having to say anything.
1:34:28That is pretty great, though. Yeah. Yeah, get off my back. He done got it together. He done got it together. It took some years. Smart, yeah. But he would be that out. Yes, we got it. We are getting there. This whole teamwork thing. That's it, man. You got it. And it's good. You're figuring it out. It's good figuring it out. It's good energy right now. Oh, that's great. That's all we own. We're peaceful, protect your peace trend. That's what I'm telling you. When you go out, protect your peace and your energy. That's the one thing. If I could pass that along to my kids, it would be that, like, always protect your peace and your energy from everything, everyone.
1:35:04And how do you do that? And I think that's the hardest is when it comes to family. Yeah. It's protecting your peace and setting boundaries. Because your family beat them. I think that's the biggest lesson that through all of this journey, you want to give so much, you want to do so much, you want to help so much. And even like my personal life and professional life, I feel like I gave, gave, gave, gave so much that it got to a point where I was lacking and there was no, you know, I didn't feel like I had that. Yeah. And so it's okay to like set boundaries, you know, to protect yourself and to say no.
1:35:42As long as it's done respectfully in the right way, like that is okay. And it doesn't make you. Is there an example? um yeah just some situations with family with money um it was very hard for me to learn that lesson like trend it's okay to say start saying no or i can't help this time especially i i have a like sometimes i do have this guilt or burden on me that i that i have been or i'm considered the successful one in the family that you know I don't want especially my family coming from such humble beginnings like I don't want if I can help I'm there right I feel like that is I I should I want to that's my job to do that but also it can it can you can be taken advantage of yep and um even if people don't mean it that way but yeah well and we have to be okay at the end of the day If we stop doing this tomorrow or if something happens to one of us, like our unit has to be okay first.
1:36:50I can't help everybody else if I am not okay and I'm not okay and I'm drained mentally and I'm drained financially and I'm drained physically. And even professionally, I realized I was carrying like, I didn't even realize it, but I was carrying so much frustration about things. But a lot of it was on me because I didn't speak up. I didn't feel like I should. I felt like I should be grateful for everything. And I felt like, which I was, but there were things that, there were times where I should have fought and I should have spoken up for things and I didn't. And I think by the time I did, it was kind of like not the right time.
1:37:35We're not the right situation or it just. It had been bottled up inside you for so long when it came out. Yeah. It came out a lot. It needed to come out. I don't regret it. But at the same time, just don't let that build and sit at you. I don't ever want my kids to feel like they don't have a power. They can't use their voice or they don't have a choice. in anything in life. Right. In school, in college, against authority. Such important lessons. Yeah. Like, protect your peace, protect your boundaries, because you're no good to nobody else if you're not. And don't feel bad about it. And don't feel bad.
1:38:17You don't feel guilty about that. Yeah. And I kind of, like, I carry so much guilt all the time. Yeah. And so I learned that, too, about myself and worked through that and broke that down. Like, why do I feel this way? why you know why do I put that on myself and I'm in a much better like space mentally yeah now hell nah I just couldn't nah I'm gonna say everything no
1:38:53no you can't play your call no you how about that I love it too man Yeah, because I see it. I'm like, here you go. Because she has such a soft spot for her family. Yeah. Very soft spot. She's always. She's a giver. Giver, giver. I'm like, you can say no. I learned how to say no. I learned from my dad. I learned from my mom, actually. My mom was like, do not be afraid to say no. Wow. My mom told me that. That's so powerful. Because she was in it with my dad at the time. And she was like, learn to say no. So what you talking about? I ain't nobody asked me for nothing. I ain't got nothing to give.
1:39:28Now I get it. I do get it. What do you think is the best lesson your dad ever taught you? Oh, man. You know what? I think I get it's the work ethic I get from my dad. Yeah. You know, just seeing him get up, go, you know. I just saw his actions, just how he just make sure the family was good, make sure everybody ate. Like, we would go. He'd be like, hey, load up the gas tanks and the lawnmowers and the raking, and then let's go. And I used to be like, damn. But we would go to everybody's house and cut their yards and rake it. Go to grandma's, cut their yard and rake it. go to auntie's cut their I'll be like man they got kids why the hell why are we doing it yeah but I learned that might be the reason why I hate doing yard work but I think I'll gravitate to it when I get a little older I just feel like I know I'll beat it like I bought a riding lawnmower I didn't turn it on I haven't used it yet but you haven't mom knew mom knew mom knew mom knew how to work that thing mom knew mom knew she's happy she be whipping it oh my god oh yeah I can't wait to meet her man man oh she's the goat she loves you yeah she's the goat man uh that's awesome awesome yeah well watching dad get up and make sure that everybody's good everybody's you know taken care of in that way a big provider you know yeah and he showed you by example yeah man and then also like you know uh big big physical being but like can also be like intimidating at times but also i seen soft big gentlemen all become especially with solo well solo that is solo yeah so solo is he is really big baby he is a big baby like for real for real well I remember you talking about him sitting on the bed getting to eat the sandwiches everything he is I love him the day like we're very close now yeah super close you know because we're very very very much alike I always say it should I think he's my twin I would say it should be me self of my twin josh and then my other brother you know yeah me and josh we're close but i always look at solo i'm like man we're like we joke alike we kind of look alike right right you know and then you know he he gets me man you know we i love him i'm so glad he's here yeah because i saw him in college where he was he wanted to wrestle he's like dude why you want to wrestle man he's like i see you guys wrestling i see my brothers are wrestling y 'all told me to finish school get a degree i did that now i want to do what i want to do all right what is it then i want to wrestle i said man it's what i wanted to do my whole life i was like you know what you're absolutely you're right man and then he listened though right yeah man do this do that and he listened and and he stays listening and he stays asking questions and he loves his his family and he He doesn't, he's, the apple forest fall from the tree.
1:42:19Right, right. Except he ain't fall. He ain't even apple. We the apples falling off the damn tree. He's a tree. Except a damn mango or something. You got to pick him off that. You know what I'm saying? He gets it, man. He's having a blast and I'm so glad he's here. Oh, it's so great. He's doing amazing. Yeah, Jacob too. He really is. They all are. Everybody is. Everybody is. Everybody is. I love watching it I love watching you guys Thank you It's fun It should be fun Our business is fun And if we're not having fun The audience is not going to have fun It's a good time to be a wrestling fan We went to New York to go see Broadway I cried on Aladdin I don't know why but I was watching Aladdin Broadway And it got me Because of the songs But I remember seeing it Man we do this Like, we got to come to New York to watch this Broadway.
1:43:16Right. We bring in the show right to your front step. That's right. So people get to see us, Trinity or Naomi in physical, right? Yeah. Bianca, or they get to hear it, or they pyro in their favorite wrestlers, and Randy Orton's here. You get to feel it. And I think that's what sets us. I think that's why we're the number one. I think there ain't nothing like what we do. And we are successful in the best. We're spoiled, man. I'm so blessed. We in a dream. I love it. We are. We get to live. We really doing it. True. I never thought I'd be sitting on a podcast married, also speaking to Stephanie.
1:43:53You know what I'm saying? This is like, to me, it's very cool. Present. Because I remember growing up, meeting your family. Your family's always been around our family. And it's like. Generations. Yes. Very much. So to sit here on the other end and just talk about celebrating our hard work and like. And lessons learned. And lessons and kids. and our pets. I'm not complaining. I ain't got nothing to complain about. Me neither. Me neither, man. Me neither. I'm happy. Well, I'm so grateful. Thank you guys so much for coming and being on this and sharing your stories. I look forward to the next time.
1:44:33Okay, yeah. Yeah. Have us on the next time. Absolutely, we will. Shoot, I would love it. We'll have even more to talk about. Oh, yeah. We'll have Tank on here. Oh, yeah. We should have. Well, I mean, we should introduce our pets. Probably do that pretty soon. We need a pet episode. Man, we're bringing all this. Let's get the guinea pig, all their pictures, all the falling soldiers. I have their ashes on the mantle. Little Mousy, Little Willow. Yeah. I never even thought about that. Yeah. I always just thought of the traditional way, Bairnham. No, we cremated them. That's not. I also like the idea, though, of having them there with you.
1:45:13Yeah.
1:45:17Yeah. Some people tattoo their ashes in them. Oh, yeah, I have heard that. I mean, it's just I was never that close to the guinea pigs. Yeah. Tank, though? Maybe the dogs. I can see that. Tat me here, dude. I can see that. Tat me on my... Tank. Give me the Tyson here. Yes, I'm representing Tank right here on my face. Nobody's little. And I'm representing Marley on this side of my face. One big and just one little. Yep. I'm not playing. I'm not playing. So now we'll know when we see you. Yeah, if you see me tatted on my face, just give me space. Yeah. Give you a hug, maybe. Yeah, yeah. If you see me tatted on my face, just know.
1:45:55Then we know why. Yeah. Something traumatic has happened to Ooze. Yes. We don't want that, though. We don't want traumatic Ooze. No, no. They're going to be around for a long time. That's right. Yes, they will. That's right. Yep. I'm ready to go see them now. we haven't seen them in like two weeks we'll go so I can't wait it's time we'll pick them up from mom's house are you driving? yeah pick them up right from mom's house they're over there chilling and is she nearby here? yep we all live so then you'll drive how far do you live from five minutes we're going home five minutes from mom I'm thinking you're still going seven hours oh no we're transitioning here now we're here majority of the time But the kids are still there, so we still got that home.
1:46:39Okay, okay. Our daughter's a senior this year. When she's done with high school, we'll definitely be here full time. Yeah. Last year. Second year in college. Damn. Is this the youngest? Jayla, yeah. Jayla's, yeah. So the youngest's last year of high school. Yes, my daughter. Two years for me. You got two more left? Well, yeah, because I have my middle daughter's a senior, and then my baby's a sophomore. It flew by, didn't it? That's so crazy. Yes. It flew by, didn't it? High school goes so fast. I was dancing with them in the ring when I was a Funkadactyl. Yeah. I have pictures, too. I remember my daughter had no teeth in the mouth.
1:47:14I saw them years later, and they was, you know, just growing and growing. I'm just like, whoa. It goes way too fast. It's so crazy. But, and then your kids, they know that the dogs come first. They do. They do. So they'll be telling stories. Like, I'm going to be interviewing them on the podcast, and they'll be talking about how you guys absolutely do not love them as much as the dogs. Well, hold on. I got to tell Punk Phil, he said, because he knows how we love our dogs, he said, one time, got a private jet to take our dog back to Chicago's vet because we didn't trust the vet that we was in. I said, I don't know if I love Tank.
1:47:53That must have put his ass on a private jet. We about to go up in this damn Walgreens or something. I'm not about to pay no PJ to come take my dog. To go to a vet, a special vet. I'd do it. If I have the ability, I'd do it. Tanky Boy would be on that plane. You know what? I ain't going to say I'm cap with you. I'd probably be on there right with him. I know you would. I know you would. Hold it to him just like this. It's okay. Loving. Loving. Our first date, though, it threw me off because this one almost got me to, like, Uh-oh, uh-oh. Like, something is wrong with her. She a little off. Yeah.
1:48:33I did. Why? Because we went to a sushi restaurant. Okay. And she goes, ooh, avocado. Oh. It was the wasabi. She hadn't been yet to the sushi place? She didn't know. I'm like, what? Steph, what I told you I was eating growing up. Yeah, definitely not sushi. I mean. It wasn't sushi. I was over there eating gophers and possums and shit. Yeah, you were eating roadkill. She said, ooh, avocado. She said, ooh, avocado. And then. And popped that like a tick. They grabbed that little, you know. But what was the reaction? Oh, yeah, no, I know. A mess. Oh, my, this ain't no avocado. Tears coming out. It's not coming out.
1:49:16Wait, it was your first date? Yes. Yes. She told me, this ain't no avocado. I'm like, no. No. It's wasabi. What is wasabi? Lose my number.
1:49:30I was so embarrassed I didn't want to cough I'm just watching her and then you know like I'm trying to keep it together she's trying to cough cute but I'm dying I broke I was like hell dad I ain't about to die in here tonight I just lost it I said hey man I don't even want to eat you lose my number man something wrong with you it's so delicious Yeah. Ooh, avocado. I said, man, something is wrong with this girl. You just didn't know, Foofe. It was an awkward date after. Like, I'm in the car. I was like, man. I was hurting, too, after that. So I wasn't even, like, locked in on him no more. At that point, I'm just like, I just want to go home and lay down.
1:50:13She on the pastoral side just with the window. Her mouth open. Date was done. I should just say, I'll call you back or something. We can't show our face at this poor people restaurant again. It was a whole scene, Steph. It was, like, too much. I was so embarrassed. I didn't want to. Never, never. They was bringing us napkins, water. Water. Trinity is in there dying. I'm like, I can't help. What am I supposed to do? Here's some more water. Want my water? But in my head, I'm like, what? What the hell? I chewed up and I swallowed it. So there was nothing, like, I couldn't spit it out. Like, I had to, like, just go through it.
1:50:56Yeah. You had to experience the full sensation. It was clear that I was just makeup. You ain't even cute no more. You done coughed your wig out. It was all bad. She ran a whole Iron Man mask by the time we done finished our dinner. I just remember, we supposed to go to the movies, asshole. We didn't even go to the movies. I think she just went home and slept it off. She said, I'm tired. I said, I'm going home. I don't know. I feel like my adrenaline was washing, my heart was... I'll see you at practice tomorrow. You were having a reaction. Something. That girl almost died on her first date. To this day, I do not touch wasabi.
1:51:36To this day. You don't even eat it. Nope. No. I make sure that thing is far away off my plate. No, no, no wasabi. No extra avocado. Ooh, avocado. Ooh, avocado. Ooh, avocado. He didn't even have... I did it so fast, he didn't even have time to... He didn't have time. That ain't... Oh, it was just like that. And then were you like, yeah, I watched the movie after. I was like, oh, my God. I thought I was coughing. Her head spun around three times. I was like trying to swallow for her. Ooh. Good times, man. Wouldn't change it for nothing, though. Yeah. Wouldn't change it for nothing. Love it, though.
1:52:12Thank you. Thank you. Your love is so beautiful. Thank you. Yeah, it's obviously so real. And it's just amazing sometimes, right? And how our business can bring people together. Nope. Yep. Yeah. No. We sit here and look at the growth, though. Like, that's a cool thing. We can see it and be like, damn, man. Like, it's cool being here now. Yeah. It's cool. We're changing. We can see the growth, you know. Right. And I think that's the biggest thing, you know. So my parents didn't make it 18 years and then they got the divorce. Yeah. Or my grandmother, too. You know, you see it around you. Sure, sure.
1:52:45So I just didn't want that to be a thing. And there are points in our relationship where we're just like, hey, this is it. it might be easier for you to go that way. I can go this way. Right. But easy isn't what it's all about. And I'm so glad you stick through that. You know, that would try to get us, but he couldn't. Yeah. Yeah, he couldn't, he couldn't get us. So we still here, still here checking in. Yeah. I think cause we started as really good friends that somehow it always keeps us in it. Like that mutual friendship, love, bond, care. Respect is so important. Three months friendship before any kind of, like, any kind of feelings.
1:53:26It wasn't like, ooh, I like her off the bat. It was like three months hanging out, me, her, and Percy. Percy Watson, my best friend. When I got there, we moved together. But three months, like, not just three months, but, like, when it's three months every day, all day. Yeah. Like, in our bubble and our rest. Three months is three years. Yeah, it feels different. Went to the gym together. It don't sound like a lot, but the time we spent. We did a lot together, man. and then getting to know each other was like very special just come over and just like she'll cook like spaghetti like just randomly come over and cook spaghetti but then you know there'll be like some company there and then she'll you know we could come in she'd be like making spaghetti but she also be side-eyeing oh she'll tell me after yeah maybe when i used to come over there and used to hook y 'all up with some spaghetti i'm like yeah yeah y 'all used to have them over there I'm like, yeah.
1:54:18She's like, yeah, yeah. All that's done. I used to be like low-key. I used to be like, oh, I just wish he knew about me. Remember that? I used to just tell him. I ain't going to tell him. Like, you know, it's all these. So then when I read a story, and I don't know if this is true, but when you guys first were at the school together, you said something about your dad in like a negative way or something. Dumbest joke ever. Yeah. Yeah. Percy found out, he told me that her favorite wrestler growing up was my dad, Rikishi. So I was like, oh, this is cool, man. I'm going to go in and talk to her. The boys across the street would watch Friday Night Smackdown, like my neighbors, but they were like my brothers growing up.
1:55:00Yeah, yeah. So during that time, the little bit I would see or know of it, it was when his dad was hot and running and when The Rock was there. Yeah. So that's really all I knew. Right. And so when I came to FCW. I guess I you know they actually what was your how'd you get here do you watch wrestling all and i would just say his dad because that's literally only one i knew was like so um percy told him and then yeah i was like oh yeah yeah i'll say all right cool i'll say yeah i'll say all right then i saw you made a joke yeah trying to make a joke i said hey man you know i heard i heard your dad i heard your favorite wrestler is rikishi she was like yeah i was like that guy's a loser right i mean horrible performance right like literally this reaction I was like alright this is not working and she just kind of like scooted off I was so I didn't know and also I was like why is this guy trying to dog on the one guy I like and I'm scared I'm new it's like a kind of culture shock I ain't never heard you were scared of me no I'm saying of the situation I didn't know that just you know being new and new environment yeah Yeah.
1:56:19So then she goes over. Well, after practice, I kind of bombed. I was like, oh, this is. I went to go loosen the ropes on the other ring. I was like, this isn't working. So after practice, though, she was leaving. I stopped her. I was like, hey, man, I just want to introduce myself. I'm John. I made a horrible joke about my dad. I heard that that was your favorite wrestler growing up. So I just thought that would be a cool end to you to get there. But obviously, stop sign. Something else happened. And what did she say to you? She's like, why did you just say that? yeah why did you say introduce yourself what I read and again I don't know if this is accurate but is that she said well why did you say all that stupid shit
1:57:01why would you just say let me say you like clearly made an effort to go talk to her what you just thought oh well we'll be friends Like I'm a joker. Clock is still. You didn't try to act like, you know, like I was the one. She's got something, you know, nothing. You liked me. Yeah. Seems like there was an effort there upon laying eyes on her. You did have some white. You probably had the whitest teeth I saved. That was it. He was done. That's the only curve that matters. Even though he can't really admit it. It was a smile. Yeah, right. Let's go have some sushi, man. You cool with that? Yeah. You gonna pick me up?
